This is a great family hotel for many reasons such as the kids club, low sea water (literally about feet knee deep), large pool with kids fountain area and lots of space to roam and sit. The food was really good with lots of options for meat and veggie lovers. And the bonus its just mins or less from the airport. The gym has new equipment. You can get Wi-Fi on most of the grounds. Be advised the hotel is under some renovations but that did not not interfere with the vacation (for now). Also they do have a vacation membership presentation onsite, and the entertain could be improved. There are lots of places to sit, but if your looking for common tv area that too is hit and miss. We only went to the buffet and not the restaurants to I can't comment on that part, but ALL the staff were exceptional!! We would definitely go back, love to see it when its fully renovated. We do suggest that they should have a more welcoming price for expatriates or locals (e.g. day packages that expires 2 am??? why would you want a guest to leave at that time!) and travel membership that you can commit to after you leave (who wants to be on vacation and commit to $15K-20K future travel on the spot). Overall the hotel is worth a visit, its very friendly, clean, convenient and slower paced.

The food was unbelievable. It exceeded our expectations! We arrived in the morning and did not get into our room until 5:30pm, which was very inconvenient. When we did get in our room, our keys did not work for 2 days. Every time we needed to get into our room, we had to wait for staff to let us in. The first night this took them 45 minutes at the end of the day when we were exhausted. Eventually in the afternoon on night 2 they replaced the entire lock. It took us going to customer service several times for this to happen. For this experience alone, I would not recommend the resort. The staff did not make this a priority at all. In general we found the staff to be rude/unfriendly, which was surprising. We had never experienced that at a resort before. This was our first time in Jamaica, we were there as a group of 4. The water was great, the pool was nice, the food was amazing. However the staff and room situation was really disappointing.

I didn’t like on how the supervisor sneaked in the room while my wife was in the bathroom, we both felt awkward about this supervisor walking in the room,other than that the staff were very friendly and polite, Denise was very friendly and kept our room clean

This is our third visit to this resort,previous to the new name and new owners, this resort was the holiday inn. Although it is tired and needs renovation, it’s in the process now and we hope to return to see the upgrades next year. The main reasons for returning is the Staff,so friendly, the food, always tasty and plentiful, it’s quiet and always loungers on the beach. The jerk chicken shack was a daily lunch visit, the best jerk we had in Jamaica and the two,ladies were amazing, they worked hard to ensure everyone had lots to eat and drink. The gardeners did a great job, grounds very neat and tidy. The beach was raked every morning. The a la cartes were very good and you could always get a reservation for dinner. The buffet was very good as well. The ladies at the front desk were wonderful and check in was a breeze. This is not a high end resort, but was clean, well kept and comfortable. We felt safe and our items could be left on the beach without a worry. I would recommend the Catalonia to everyone, couples, singles and families. There was good security and no vendors bothering you on the beach Or in the resort. The swimming area needs to be addressed, too shallow. Hoping the new owners keep with the Jamaican feel and don’t overprice next year.

Pros: staff are generally friendly. Snorkelling is right at your feet. Jerk hut. The Italian restaurant. Island beach. Cons: No bar on the island beach. They can’t spare any bottles of water. Staff ask for food. Rooms aren’t great (but clean!)

The hotel and grounds were clean and beautiful,the buffet was not good this time, they had a lot of stews there were spicy and not beef was served but always found something to eat. We found that there was a shortage of cups, plates, and cutlery. The staff was great and very accommodating

Both my wife and myself had recently been at the holiday inn Montego Bay and if I have to be completely honest we were both very dissapointed. Our room attendant was very little attentive to our room as far as bathroom towels etc and never once replenished our coffee filters in our room and we had “ONE” coffee cup to share. The first night in our room we turned on the TV and couldn’t get a signal so we did speak to the front desk and was advised cable down for the night. This was pretty much the norm for the entire 7 days we were there. We spend above and beyond for an Oceanfront room and was definitely not worth the money. On a positive note most of the staff was very friendly and the food was ok. We have been at this resort a few years back and was 100% better then. I really don’t like writing negative reviews but have to be honest.

Looks beautiful in pics but definitely a 3*. Pro's= close to airport, pretty grounds Cons= buffet was crap, outdated and not much swimmable beach Trip central gave me the wrong booking # You can't use the resort app to check in if you've booked via third party... Took 20 phone calls for them to tell me that Air transat return flight was shut compared to flight going over . A 1st using trip central, air grandad and going to this resort.. Overall all disappointing

The hotel was ok, a little older but clean and well maintained. The rooms were very clean, no complaints. The food was delicious. The jerk shack had some awesome jerk chicken, there was a bbq area for burgers, fries, fish and grilled cheese, no disappointment here. You don’t do hungry, there is nacho and ice cream hut. The only thing is the beach, there is a lot of seaweed in the water, not good for swimming or long walks on the beach. Drinks were ok, would be nice to have more fancy drinks.

Resort is clean, good food, and great staff. It’s older and a bit tired, however the location and staff make it a go too. This is our second stay and we plan to go back. The Ali cartes were very good and would recommend the Italian as our favourite.

The beach here was amazing, there is a small island that you can walk to. If you like snorkeling there is lots to see. Food options are ok, wish there were ‘clean’ options. Jerk hut was great!!’ All in all a good spot!

The hotel was pretty and the people were nice. The room was not the best the fridge wasn’t stocked with drinks or water. The food was terrible at the buffet and not a lot of variety. It was usually the same thing. There was no options for people who didn’t eat pork to have a substitute. You couldn’t smoke anywhere in the resort except the only place where smoking was allowed by the lobby. It was a resort for usually older people and not many young couples. The entertainment was okay but there could have been a place where you can dance and have music. The restaurants were limited only 3 one you had to pay for. The service was okay but my room wasn’t cleaned until late in the evening when I was tired and wanted to be in my room.

Checked into the hotel and politely asked if we could be down towards the adult section and on the 3rd or 4th floor. The front desk they had no availability but for me to go back the next day and they would give me another room. We check into our room and the toilet does not flush. They sent someone in to fix it. Next morning, tried to make coffee, the coffee machine does not work. Went down for breakfast and checked into the front desk to see about our room, they said all room changes must come from guest services. So i went over and asked about the room and they said.....wait for it...all room changes must come from the front desk!! Went back to the front desk and after getting no where with them, i went back to guest services and asked if they could fix or replace the coffee machine. They said they would send someone up. I also asked if we could get a mini fridge in our room, and although they are not in every room, they would try. This was about 8:00 am. Went back to guest services just before 6:00 pm, again i asked about the coffee machine, they called maintenance and were told someone replaced it at 4:00 pm. I told them that wasn't possible because i was in the room then and the coffee machine is still not working. Again, they said they would send someone up. Went for dinner, and around 9:00 pm, maintenance comes and said they can not replace it that night because where they get the coffee machines, well that was closed!!! I said i reported this at 8:00 am in the morning. So the maintenance guy went into the next room which was getting renovated and gave us a coffee machine. Next morning i go for breakfast and someone at guest services stopped me and said they were trying to get a hold of me all day yesterday, and i promptly answered, there was no messages on my phone. They said they have upgraded our room to a suite and it was ready for me yesterday!! So i didn't argue, we went upstairs packed our stuff and went to the new room. We no sooner unpack and tried to get to our balcony and of course....the door does not open!!! Unbelievable!! Food was worse than it has ever been, and cold!! Wait around for them to clean off tables and get coffee, takes forever.....unless Sharika was there!! She was so good!! Decided to fly sunwing instead of westjet this year, the day we leave, they pick us up at 11:35 making 3 stops on the way to the airport, we get to the airport and since we are already checked in and had our boarding pass, i asked the sunwing guy on the floor where the bag drop off was. He promptly told me there was none and i had to get in line with everyone else. Well there hundreds of people in that line. We get in line, it wasn't moving very quickly, so it is now 1:30 and we were still over an hour away from it being our turn. I told the guy our boarding was at 2:15 and he informed me we had lots of time!!! So we finally get to the check in person at 2:45 pm. They told us to run past security to the gate down a hall. Well i didn't see that hall so i asked the security person and he said NO, we MUST go through security!! They brought us to the front of the line, finally went to security and boarded our plane at 2:59 pm. All i can say is WOWWWW

This was my second time at this resort and I really like the smaller set up of the grounds, the people, and the availability of being able to snorkel everyday and eat ice cream! However that is not to say this hotel does not need some TLC, our room a deluxe ocean view room was musty smelling, and no ventilation at all in the bathroom to clear steam or smell, we were on a two week stay, not sure how 4 people would of managed we were only 2. We did not go to watch TV but again being their two weeks we were not out every evening but maybe 2 or 3 channels that's it. Not one hanger in a huge closet with no way too put anything in. Most of the staff is wonderful but Customer Service staff does not seem happy, several times we needed to speak to them and yes they provided what was asked but with very little enthusiasm. The food in this hotel and the ala carts is very very good ?..the Jerk hut and ice cream stand also very good. Grounds are very well taken care of and the hot tubs worked!! We will go back, and hopefully some upgrades are made. ?

First time in Jamaica. Compared to other countries hotel was clean enough. Food 9/10 Beach 7/10 Entertainment 6.7/10 Christmas party celebrations could have been more extravagant. Hotel staff also were not too friendly but got better later on. No volleyball, huge disappointment along with beach being just okay.

We love this resort. 10 min from the airport. 15 minutes from hip strip. 5 minutes walk to scotchies famous jerk chicken. I'm surprised to read bad reviews about this place! We both think that the food is really good! There is something for everyone. It's the perfect spot for families. We both want to come back.

I just came back from vacation in Jamaica on August 11, 2023, Resort HOLIDAY INC RESORT. Staying at this resort was very horrible, I never advise my worse enemies to go there for vacation. The Pool was okay, the beach Bar and Jerk Bar. If you need a bottle of water they never have one to give you, You have to use the drink machine for water if you need it. They don't provide you with a mini fridge in your room, The House cleaner never has enough towels to give in your room. Twice I had to call guest service for towels. One night my A/C shut down in the middle of the night. The food was okay, I would not recommend this resort for anyone to go to. You better off little more money and go to a decent Resort. Maureen

I just came back from my Vacation in Jamaica Holiday INC RESORT. The resort is not worth going to, the food was okay. the Pool was amazing Beach, and the Jerk Bar was good. The services for our room were horrible NO Mine Fridge, there is no clock in the room to see the time. When house cleaners clean your room never leave towels she says would that the towels are finished, and I have to call guest service for towels. On my first day at the resort, the shower was work in my room. The House cleaner doesn't change your bedding on your bed so you have to use the bed sheet for 7 days staying at the resort. I wouldn't recommend this Resort to anyone. You better off paying a little more money and staying at a decent Resort. August 11, 2023

This resort is very poorly run! Food options at the buffet are bad, the staff as a whole are not friendly and seem like they being bothered when asking for anything. Check in is very slow. They didn’t offer drinks that other resorts on the island offer. The grounds are kept clean. The pool is big, the beach is nice. The entertainment was good. When someone from my party asked the lifeguard for some ointment for a sunburn, she was told that there is no first aid kit. The only helpful and friendly employee was Rochelle at the front desk. She went above and beyond to help me to get a day pass for a friend who lives on the island. The rooms are very dated. The balcony door is very hard to open/close. 1 of the elevators is very slow and the door seems to have a hard time opening at times will only open about an inch. Will not be staying at this resort again, my family travels to the island for our yearly vacation.

Beautiful beach!!!!! Food was an 8/10 I really enjoyed the Jamaican al la carte restaurant. Jerk bar was lit!!! Service was ok, long wait time in line for check in. By time I got my room I was exhausted from standing in the heat for so long. Hot water in my room didn’t work all the time, had to shower in lukewarm water. In my opinion, entertainment wasn’t the best. But this was a more relaxation trip than for entertainment.

It was a great trip despite the unorganized arrival at Montego Bay airport. Our air transat rep went aboveboard to make sure we were satisfied thx Daly. The staff at the Holiday Inn were great and respectful. We will recommend this place to others.

The hotel is nice and clean. Some of the rooms are newly renovated. Pools are very clean and the property is well kept. The view surrounding the beach is beautiful. However, it would be much nicer without the seaweeds. Some of the staff are very friendly.

Everything that you want and need out of a resort. It was clean, great pool and ocean and was family friendly. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly. Would recommend to anyone headed to Montego Bay.

We enjoyed a wonderful stay for 1 week at this Resort. Stayed in Building #1 on the 3rd floor with partial Ocean view which we enjoyed morning tea and coffee on the Balcony . Our maid Latoya did a wonderful job in looking after our room and any additional things we asked. The grounds were clean and very nice. The workers work very hard on this Resort. Certainly would come again and stay longer.

Rooms are clean, staff very nice, food was good and lots to choose from. Common areas nice, relaxed atmosphere throughout resort. Good value for money its a older resort however well maintained. I felt safe staying here. I would definitely stay again!

This hotel has great food, great service, clean rooms, new comfortable mattresses, amazing views and beach. You will not be disappointed if you want a great relaxing vacation with great weather, drinks and people!

The only two good things I can say about this resort are that it had a pretty ok beach and the food was not the worst I have ever had at an all inclusive. The pool, entertainment, tennis court, mini golf, service and rooms were horrible. I would not go back to this resort.

This hotel is an older hotel. It was perfect for the type of vacation we were on. It is for all types of travellers, I never felt crowded. We always had a nice place to hang out and never fought for beach chairs. The food was OK but we did not make it to the à la carte restaurants, heard they were good. Close to the grocery, pharmacy and bank. Management was great, service is good, better with tips. Would go back for another trip here someday.

Just got back from the Holiday Inn I Montego Bay in Jamaica. Nice place, great for families. Beaches are nice, but Water is very shallow, not great if you like to swim. Food is good, always something to eat at different locations on the resort. Check in was very slow and an awful experience. Many people very unhappy at check-in! Rooms were very clean, we were in room 3203, air conditioner was really loud, had to use ear plugs to sleep. All in all a good experience

It's a beautiful resort, very clean; you can access the beach from so many different areas of the hotel. Easy shuttles to Margaritaville and airport. The drinks were great. The food was not very good very bland, not much variety.

This resort was way better than expected! The people working there were so nice and friendly to me and my girl friend. The drinks were amazing! Food was pretty good too. We loved the hut that served burgers & fries. We were mostly worried about the cleanliness of the rooms because of some of the reviews. But everyday our room was cleaned up nice with fresh towels. The resort is clean and bigger than we thought and the little island is so enjoyable. There’s even a space area for adults only. Overall we loved our experience and will be coming back!

The resort was wonderful.We got a pool/ocean view on the third floor in building one.Thete was a coffee maker a t that worked great air worked great but no fridge.Safe is included as well.Food was good.Omelet girls were fantastic.We went to all the alacarte restaurants and didn't like the Jamaican one.The Japan was the best but we paid for it. The beach is clean,the water crystal clear and the island is picturesque.Entertainment was some very good to some mediocre.Santizing stations available and all staff wore masks!.It was a wonderful vacation! The drinks were fabulous and so was most wait staff.Everyone was polite and worked hard.Would definitely go back!!

This resort while yes it is older, it is cosier and friendlier than the the big boxy hotels. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is gradually being renovated and the rooms that are finished are great. We had an ocean front room in building 5 and it was perfect. Two large comfortable beds, plenty of towels and water daily. The fridge was great and the air conditioning worked quietly and efficiently.The room was cleaned every day. The restaurants, beach and all activities were within easy reach of our room. Plenty of choices for food and while everything wasn’t to our taste there was always plenty to choose from. The beach is cleaned every day and there are plenty of lounges. Snorkelling was great and the water was so warm you could swim all day. The grounds of the hotel are lovely and perfectly maintained. Masks were mandatory in the restaurants and when getting food from the buffet. The staff all wore masks and were constantly sanitizing public areas. We would go back to this resort anytime.

We spent 10 days at this resort. The rooms were clean, although slightly out dated. The food was excellent, a very good choice with some catering to gluten and lactose free. The specialty restaurants did not disappoint! A special mention to Jodi at the front desk, who went above and beyond for us, and to Dave the night manager who made a big impression on us, never faltering in is quiet, kget things done attitude. He is awesome!

The hotel beach, grounds and location are great. We are returning customers from 2019. The hotel made many COVID precautions. They strictly enforced the masking rules for the buffet. The food was fantastic as always. The desserts could have been helped with ice cream as an option. A sample of more local fruit would be nice. Guinep, Advocado, Nasberry, Jackfruit, Sweet and Sour sop, Plums, Breadfruit, mango etc. Some of these trees are on the grounds. The reservation dinners both free and extra $ were not worth it. It was nice to do something different but the buffet is waaay better. I made the pineapple chutney when I got home. Mwah. Fantastic buffet meals by the kitchen staff. Nice mix of Jamaican and traditional meals with something for everyone. The hotel could do better on chaos control during check in time. Transportation was also an issue. Guests should be aware that the typical concierge location is manned by 3rd party taxis. Not that you may not need them but the distinction should be more clear. They do not work for the hotel. Some signs posted would help. Like the entire world..staff turn over, supply and training issues are impacting things, but as long as you take that in consideration the staff are really doing their best. Shout out to the Barefoot bar and the fish, burger and chips tuck on the other side. Those people are going non stop for 7 hours. Great job your hard work was noticed. Shout out to Davina at the bar. There is something about this hotel that makes it very special. The majority of the people that come to stay are relaxed and that rubs off. I feel comfortable to be myself. I recommend it. I will be back. I miss it already.

The grounds are well kept, Public area were kept cleaned and Covid 19 protocols were kept in Public and Dining areas. The Rooms were dated but clean. Rooms are to be cleaned every second day however they missed one day of cleaning in our room. We stayed in Bldg. 1 it was closed to everything but a little loud at night with the entertainment. There was times they ran out of plates and glasses. Special shout out to Wayne the Bell man, Teisha in the Buffett Dining area, the lady Bar Tender(sorry I haven't the spelling of your name) at the Adult pool who always went over and above to make our stay a wonderful experience. This has been our 4th time at this Resort over the past 14 years and we will be back.

Not what was expected based on photos. Check-in process was unorganized and room was not ready. Not much variety at the buffet and ran out of food fast when more guests arrived at the resort. Other food places also ran out of food items - no nachos, or veggie burgers. Staff were not as happy and friendly as we had experienced at other resorts in Montego Bay. Shows were horrible and not entertaining. Mini golf course looked like it hadn’t been maintained for years as did the tennis courts. Overall the resort looked extremely run down, not what they advertise in their pictures and staff were unprepared for the amount of guests that were booked in. Not the greatest resort experience we have had in Montego Bay.

We were feeling a bit anxious to be honest, travelling for the first time since Covid 19. That being said, we had a fabulous time! The airports and airline were masks on. But once at this beautiful resort, the only requirement was masking at the buffet while selecting food. ALL the staff were masked, through the entire resort. The weather was perfect, the hotel clean and welcoming, beach was awesome, and the food, especially a la carte restaurants , was excellent! Once you go, you know! We will be back!! I was wonderful, warm atmosphere, loved it. We experienced great service with very professional staff. The meals were excellent and great dining area. Te daily evening entertainment was wonderful and entertaining. The open food venue until late evening was great. Your staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and the grounds. The locate with the Ocean so close is 10/10. This was an Amazing, wonderful week, I would like to visit again in less than 6 months.

this was our first experience to Holiday Inn resort Montego Bay Jamaica and it wont be our last - it was super convenient to be so close to the resort maybe 15 minutes in the shuttle i honestly cant say enough about the staff they were lovely to deal with very accommodating ! rooms are clean and typical of an all inclusive "star" rating resort WAS absolutely wonderful and was very accommodating to families and "adult only" areas so we could have some quiet times... buffet and restaurants had great choices for everyone and the grills were in my opinion perfect alternate for food. drinks were plenty rum punch yum yum Creme Rum was delsih!! my personal love was the snorkeling at this resort and the jerk after dark and going into Montego Bay with Ward a personal driver you can get from the resort for $ fee and very reasonable! we were very close to many excursions off site if you choose to wander off resort we golfed at both Cinnamon Hill and White Witch it was a beautiful experience. the only bad experience we had was for a few hours we had no water but they quickly took care of that and it was funny because we heard one of the workers say in Jamaica we have no problems only situations mon...LOL so that made the SITUATION even funnier and bearable . all in all it was a lovely experince and we would venture again to Jamaica mon! missing redstripe and jerk chicken already ! CHEERS!

The grounds were nice, even though there is only one buffet there are many other places to get food. The food is delicious. The rooms were sufficient, almost everyone of them have an ocean view of some kind.

Very relaxing, loved the variety of foods especially Jamaican dishes. Fantastic and friendly staff. The beach was clean and no big wave. It’s safe and quiet. Night time entertainment ends too early for those who likes to stay up very late. Planning to go again 😀

Love love love this resort. Will be back for sure!! Great food, great staff, very accommodating and always with a smile. Beach is amazing and the grounds are kept beautiful. The entertainment could be better but we don't go for the entertainment...we go for the relaxing atmosphere and the beach and sun!!

My wife & I really enjoyed our weeklong stay at the Holiday Inn in Mo Bay. The staff were great, the upgraded room we got was great, the nightly entertainment was great & the food was delicious too. Particularly enjoyed the savory flavors of the Jerk Hut. All in all we had a wonderful time eating, drinking & savoring sunshine at this property. There are definitely newer, flashier & more expensive JA resorts but part of the truly attractive charm of Mo Bay's Holiday Inn is the relaxing, unpretentious ambiance. Kudos to the management for giving the staff the latitude to create a warm & personable vacation environment. My only issue is that I really like to go for long ocean swims when I am on vacation & this resort did not have swimmer access to water that was deeper than a few feet. Great & very safe for families & children, but not ideal for someone who wants to get out into deeper water. To satisfy my athletic ocean interests I had to go to a different beach in Mo Bay.

Friendly staff. Great food entertainment very clean and alacart was delicious. We stayed for seven days early December 2019. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again. The fish fry and jerk hut was very good.

The hotel environment is very commercial, more like of a 3 star resort, but we enjoyed the water and the sun. We had to change the room, although we paid a premium for a deluxe rom with a front ocean view that was actualy partial view and with a toilet we had to ask to be repaird 3 times in two days. We ended up paying more to upgrade to a real front ocean view and no toilet problems. We expected inside restaurants to be included, but 4 out of 6 charged between 20 to 29 USD. Our Canadian debit cards did not work and the trips were provided at a double price than the actual entrance fees with transportation included (we paid online 70 USD for Dolphin Cove instead of 129 USD advertised by Sunwings at the hotel, which is a little exagerated). When we booked on tripcentral, we saw different types of room than those defined by the hotel on their website. We still did not udnerstand what is the correspondence between all those 5 types of rooms on your site and the 2 types on Holiday Inn webste (standard and suite). We asked at the reception if we can accummulate points at holiday Inn, so we can start building up points, and we were given a form, but after we filled it in, they said they did not know who has it, so we do not know how to do it.

Staying at the Holiday Inn Resort was amazing. We had a good time for the first 4 days. Our room was very clean and well kept. Staffs were very friendly and welcoming. Over all it was good. We both fell sick for the last three days. No sure what it was.

I went to the resort not expecting much as it was inexpensive. I was totally surprised with the overall resort. It has great restaurants, a great jerk hut, above avg entertainment and the staff were great.

The room was clean, the people there were very nice and helpful. It bothers me all the signs they have there saying what you cannot do. The pool closed at 6pm that make no sense. I enjoyed all the activities they have during the day and the night shows.

Furniture was a little worn but the resort was clean and lots of amenities. We plan to go back soon. Staff was friendly and helpful. The reception area underwhelms but the beach makes up for it. Food was good. Always one dish on buffet that was awesome.

The hotel was nice and our room was spacious, just the bathroom a bit small and needs some minor renovations. The grounds are well kept they have an adult side to the beach and they have the family side which is nice to know. On the grounds they have about 3 or 4 different bar locations as well as a jerk chicken and jerk pork hut, and an ice cream, hotdogs and other finger food hut, they also have another hut for burgers and fries, fish and chips. The food is so good, some of these huts are late night spots for when your hungry after all the drinks you may have had. The staff are great, believe it or not they remembered my name and I found that to excellent. The hotel has a main dinning room as well as about 5 or 6 fine dining restaurants on location and the food is excellent in all of them as we tried all of them for dinner. The beach is very nice and clean and the hotel has a large spread of the beach, so there is beach for everyone if you want quiet you can find that as well as fun.

The holiday inn sunspree was a very nice hotel. Rooms were a little dated but clean. The pool was nice overlooking the ocean. An awesome man made island that you could walk out to from the beach. Overall a very nice resort.

We had a fantastic vacation at the Holiday Inn, Montego Bay. Very clean, friendly staff. The food was good, lots of choices...you can never get hungry while at this resort. My only down side is that the AC was very noisy during the night, took me a while to fall asleep. Because of the noisy AC I will only give it 4 stars.

I had a great time in all areas of the resort my only complaint would be is I thought I would get a better taste of jamaican dishes I really wanted to taste curry goat oxtail fish more seafood etc. Other then the food the hospitality was out of this world the best people I have ever met extremely caring funny and generous if I could have remembered everyone I would mention them all but in a nutshell they ALL do their jobs great 100% great!!!!!

The Holiday Inn Resort in Montego Bay is an amazing place to go for a vacation whether with family or friends. The food is excellent. Grounds are well maintained and so is the pool. They have a private island you can actually walk to. Rooms are clean. The dining room staff are the best friendly and helpful. On this trip we were 18 guests and 3 needed assistance and dining room staff were there to help bring their plates from the buffet. The only negative we all had my 18 guests about the hotel staff is the bar section they need more training in customer service. My husband and I were there to renew our 30th wedding anniversary and it could not have been better. Our thanks to Nicole Deforest at Trip Central for helping us with booking and all extras we requested. Very helpful and patient agent.

I did not enjoy my stay, the bathroom was very tiny, the hotel smells and it was very old. We had to buy water and there was no fridge. The food was very limited, also the a/c was very loud. The hotel is located too close to the main road, the traffic was really loud, I don't think that your meals should be so close to the swimming pool it should be in a different area

This was my 4th time at this resort and had a great time. The food is amazing, the beach is unfortunately not good at all. The pools were well maintained. I would recommend cleaning the beach, removing the seaweed so we can actually swim in the ocean.

Stayed from may 13/19 to May 20/19 Excellent resort nice and clean, great staff, amazing selection of food and drinks. Great resort for family vacation there is something to do for adults and kids which makes it good resort for family. My fourth trip to this resort and I am already planning to be back in October with my wife,daughter,son-in-law and grandson.

The food was amazing and I'm a very picky eater. Hotel check in was quick and painless, no long lines. The grounds were always clean, staff was amazing, helpful and always smiling. Everything from booking the vacation at trip central, to check out time went amazingly smooth. I will and have recommended this resort to others and I will return. The hotel rooms were a bit dated but it was still amazing and reasonably priced.

I hated the fact that our flight was cancelled and the front desk or Sunwing Representative did not see it necessary to advise us before we went to check out when they knew ahead of time. This was distasteful!!!

Family of 4, kids are 15 and 17. Rooms: we were upgraded on arrival to a suite. Meaning there was a very worn pull out couch in the room. Building1, close to everything, beautiful view of ocean. We were on the back of the building so no noise complaints. Room 1409. Only real downfall was that the mini fridge had nothing in it,not even water! The bathroom was very dated and small but we didn’t go To Jamaica to spend a week in the bathroom :) Beach: small but cozy. Hard to find a chair most days unless you were there by 7:30am. Usually by 8:00 the chairs were gone. I recommend taking your own towel and a large clothespin to reserve your chair. The island was the trademark beauty of this resort. Make sure you bring snorkel gear to look at all the beautiful fish. Going a little further out from the island, there is a coral reef, make sure you go! Beach is clean and beautiful. Bars: always a line up and usually only one person working there. Nobody enjoys standing on the hot stones waiting 20 minutes for a drink. Not many smiles from bartenders unless they see your tip. Buffet: limited choices compared to other resorts but we always found something delicious to eat. Same lineups at breakfast for omelets. Could use more than one person cooking. Resort: overall a 4/5. Semi clean hotel. Always piles of laundry in the hallways from housekeeping. Our housekeeper only showed up 5/7 days. Weather was beautiful. Rained a few short bursts, usually at night. The casino is a joke, just some video lotto machines. The gift shop is nice and prices are decent. Long waits at the snack hut for ice cream and nachos. Pool: only one pool for families. It’s nice but sometimes a little too crowded. We preferred the ocean. One small adult pool with swim up bar at far end of the resort. Not really worth the walk up there if you have kids. Positives: beautiful view. Palm trees, sunsets, teal ocean, scuba diving, food, comfy beds, weather. All perfect! Negatives: less than enthusiastic staff, outdated (less than clean) bathrooms, no stocked mini bar, only 1pool, lineups for drinks, Excursions: you can barter these too! We paid $55 per person for an $80 excursion. We did a river tubing trip down an old slave plantation (we recommend it) by Chukka tours. Also, a day trip through the city, slums, primary school, etc. Expensive but worth it! Jamaica in general has many pushy sales people. We felt harassed by vendors across the road from the resort. I would recommend taking the shuttle to rose hall shopping, it’s free and safe! Margaritaville has a free shuttle from the resort everyday. Be prepared to pay $15+ for each drink if you go. It’s just a bar with a water slide and some water inflatables in the ocean. I would pass on this trip in the future. I would visit this resort again, but only at a much better price than we paid.

This is my first time at this resort I thought everything was great. I had a oceanfront room my view was absolutely stunning the room was a little dated but that didn't matter to me. I thought the employees were great, the beach was good, my only complaint would be the buffet it just didn't have the food I was expecting it to have every other day they had "Jamaican food" ( I was hoping for it to be every day we are in Jamaica after all ) but they only had one or two things the rest was American food. Other than that I had a great vacation I would definitely return to this hotel it's a little old but none of that matters when you hit the beach...

Check in was quick and painless. Room was clean and semi modern, a little on the smaller side but the beds were comfy. The staff were super friendly and eager to help and always had a funny story or saying. Service was amazing. Always line ups but they would serve several people at the same time so lines moved quickly. The adult side was too quiet with no entertainment crew. But too many kids on the family side to be able to drink and enjoy the entertainment. Food was plenty. Buffet was great...but could also go to the jerk hut or one of the two beach bars for food. Loved this resort. Already hoping to go back someday. Matthew's omelets were the best. Damien in the pub was our favorite part of our trip. This seemingly quiet guy was better entertainment than anything else the resort put on. His stories and one liners kept us laughing every night. The DJ at the pub had us dancing all night long with perfect song choices. Overall I would give a rating of 4.5 stars. Just need a little more entertainment on the adult side.

The hotel was great- We stayed at Holiday Inn Resort for 5 days all inclusive. We had a standard room which was basic but clean, the building is not the newest or most modern but it is functional and good for the value; the staff is very nice and helpful. Great beach, pools and buffet especially breakfast!

Great food, clean and friendly staff! Service was good and overall great resort for cost! Sunsets were amazing! Beach clean and chairs accessible at all times! Fast check in. A good variety of drinks and food.

It was very clean our room was very nice people were amazingly friendly. Food was delicious.no straws for frozen drinks but we survived lol a lot of activity to do very organized Loved our stay we will be back

The staff was awesome.....such warm and welcoming people !!!they made are time there so much fun .. cry when I had to leave . I have soooo many friends there now !!!! will be back ! felt like home .. The stage shows were off the chain...food was phenomenal! it was like being in heaven. .

Booked 1 week with Eliana to holiday inn Montego Bay she was amazing the hotel was super staff could be more helpful and friendly maids and garden was the best when u went to book dinners they could not care less bartenders in the lobby very rude casino lady was great

I took my 2 adult children and my adult Grandaughter to this resort on Feb 16 to Feb 23. When we arrived the girl at front desk was rude with us. Then on Mon Feb 18 our room got flooded out we were moved to a suite but our luggage was all wet from toilet back up there was feces everywhere on luggage ,we had to do laundry and throw all snack food we brought with us. The food was awful we all had a hard time finding something to eat at all meals. The staff were not friendly at all very rude. Tryin to get coffee in the morning was a battle had to ask numerous servers before we could get coffee. Our room was never cleaned we would have to wait for maid until very late in day to get towels etc. I will not recomend this resort to anyone i was very disappointed in all areas. This resort is situated on a long stretch of beach. We loved that the resort and beach were smoke-free! We found it fairly easy to find chairs on the beach no matter the time of day. The water was shallow with lots of marine life if you like snorkeling or just wading through the water pointing out fish and sea urchins. Hotel staff were steadily patrolling the beach for cups and garbage. Security was also present but not obtrusive.The size and layout of the resort was perfect. We always felt close to the beach and all the other amenities. The gym was good with views of the beach from the treadmills and steppers. The outdoor chess game was a personal favourite - also right on the beach. The hamburger shack, icecream hut and jerk chicken shack were fantastic! The buffet was OK. The Japanese a La Carte was 20$ and well worth it! The food was amazing and the chef put of an entertaining show. We were less satisfied with the 25$ upgrade at the seafood a La Carte. I ordered the surf and turf and the steak tasted terrible. The room was clean, and the beds and pillows were nice. The balcony was well sized but it was very difficult to open and close the patio door. The bathroom was pretty small and it was almost impossible to get a decent hot shower between 4-6pm. The internet connection was good enough in the room that I was able to stream netflix on my laptop without much interruption. Check-in, check-out was a fairly smooth process. The guest lounge was a great perk to get you through that awkward period of time between check-out and the shuttle ride to the airport. I was a little irritated that I wasn't able to check into my room until after 3:00pm upon arrival. Based on flight delays I didn't get to the resort until Sunday but I had paid for a room starting Saturday. I was not refunded for that night so I should have been checked in as soon as I got there. I followed up with my booking agent and received a generic and lame reply about how that's the standard. Not a luxurious resort, but if you are okay with getting your own drinks and timing your showers to low consumption times, the resort is good value for the money.

Spent a week at Holiday Inn Resort at Montego Bay Jamaica... Friendly staff food amazing did 1 al la carte resturant .. and the Managers Dinner.. food was amazing we enjoyed the buffet ..choices were delicious fav was stuffed chicken and the turkey 😋 rooms were great except for no fridge and bottled water.. had to buy it but we kept our bottles and refilled at the buffet each day for morning coffee in our rooms .. Jerk hut was delicious and my fav was the Nachos for lunch 😋 this was our second time back 💕🌴🇯🇲 We’ll return and thanks to Sunwing and Jenn at trip central 🌴💕🌴😋

Amazing food, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms on the whole good but the bathrooms need a lot of work. Hot water for a shower was a novelty. If I hadn’t paid so much I’d rate it higher . Swim up bar was scummy

We had the honor of going to Montego Bay to the Holiday Inn and resort from Feb. 1-9 2019. The people who work at this resort were amazing. From the first step into the resort the people were friendly and helpful. We took a taxi to the Harley Davidson store, the customer service agent there called and our taxi was there in minutes. He gave us information on Jamaica and was so patient and friendly. From the bartenders to the people who cleaned our room we were very very happy with how friendly they were. We will definitely tell all of our friends about the Holiday Inn and how they should visit the Holiday Inn in Jamaica. The staff are very helpful and the rooms were well cleaned. There was a good variety of food for vegetarians. There was only one adult swim up bar and it was too small for swimming. I did not enter this pool for 3 days in a row due to the milky white scum floating in there. The washroom door did not close completely. The washroom was so tiny only one person could enter at a time. Out of 7 days there was hot water only one day for a shower. Very expensive. Should only be a 3* or less.

The hotel staff we're very pleasant and accommodating. In our party of 30 plus various complaints about room(s). Definitely washrooms very small, no water in our room(s). Feel the cost of this stay was way over priced in comparison with other all inclusive for half the price and much more exquisite resort. Also the Ala Carte restaurants were so overbooked that meals were being done at 9pm, so we never got in to any of those except Japanese for the bachelerette party. Adult pool was not very clean, and I ended up with some bed bugs or some other sores, still trying to figure out. The buffets were excellent as far as variety. Entertainment was great as well, every evening. Give this resort a 3.5 Feeling $1800.00 was way over the top for this stay.

We just got back on February 9th. As far as the resort goes the food is good, drinks are a plenty, rooms were satisfactory, the only complaint if I have one was there is not a long enough beach to go for a long walk. We did enjoy our week spent there very friendly staff.

We had such a great time at this resort in Jamaica. The grounds were so clean and we didnt see a lot of staff working on it. There was a wide variety of food on the buffet, all very tasty. The servers were very friendly. The rooms were spacious and very clean. I would recommend this resort to anyone

The Holiday inn has to be one of the best resorts I have been, the people are so kind and the food is amazing, I feel so at home there, been twice and will be back for a 3rd time in 2019. I would recommend this resort to all.

Just came back from vacationing at Holiday Inn in Montego Bay. The best thing of our stay was the Jamaican people as they were the nicest I have ever experienced. The evening entertainment was phenomenal. The hotel room was very nice, clean and all in working order. Hotel grounds are extremely well manicured. Food was average but always hot. Unfortunately, the beach is shallow as markers allow one to go out only at above knee height. My favourite bartender was Kevin. If you see him, please tell him Dirty Banana says hi....it’s an inside joke between us. All in all, it was a wonderful vacation for the price we paid and for the memories we will cherish forever.

Clean and well kept hotel. A little dated. Maid service was great. Had good entertainment every night. The buffet was incredible. Lots to choose from. And meals were different everyday. The staff was friendly.

We just returned from a beautiful week at this resort.This was our first time in Jamaica and it sure wont be our last..Loved everything about it from the hard working and caring people..one thing i really loved besides the.beautiful hot sun was the soft icecream..Food was very good here and entertainment was top noch..we shall be returning next yr..

This is my second time staying at the Holiday inn resort and I will definitely be back again! The rooms are amazing! The service is wonderful! The food is delicious!! Everything is more then incredible! I wish I could stay forever!!

Review on my recent visit at the Holiday Inn resort in Montego Bay Jamaica. Excellent service from bar tenders, at the buffet etc.... However, I will not go back to this hotel for the simple reason there is nothing in the fridge at drink not even a bottle of water. The beach is full or slimy weeds not clean and sandy. For me I will consider a 3 star hotel.

Beautiful hotel, 10 minute drive from airport. Nice restaurants, food was amazing. Entertainment was very good. Rooms very clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Something for everyone, mini golfing, tennis courts, and a gym. We have been there 5 times and our room was upgraded and went to a special dinner. Made us feel special.

Great resort for our family, lots to do, great snorkeling right off the beach, great food and lots of options, freindly staff. I would also recommend doing an excursion to see Jamaica, lots to choose from for a fair price.

People are nice and polite resort was amazing, food and staff are all nice and highly recommended... ONLY when we arrived , there was no proper endorsement of the paper handed with us so we missed our orientation package. Next time have a minute to explain the paper to be handed so it will be understood that we need to attend the orientation for the DO’s and DONT’s, everything is very satisfactory and very much appreciated..

Friendly staff...very clean..informative..great entertainment..variety of foods available..welcoming...at home feeling. I stayed for 10 days none of which were the same. Variety of entertainment for both adults and children. My 4 children ages 4..9..11..14 all had a great time as well..

The hotel was very nice. I married my sweetheart during my stay which made it even more memorable. Everyone at the hotel was very accommodating and treated us like gold. So many things to do and the beach area was fantastic. Very large so you could find a quiet spot easily. Private adult area was also nice. Room was very comfortable.

Very nice hotel...great food and drinks...nice beach and rooms...excellent service...close to airport...small hotel...friendly people. We were 12 people in our group and we thoroughly enjoyed our selves. Entertainment was brilliant.

The grounds,rooms and Resort were very clean. The staff were friendly. The Buffet restaurant was good,plenty of choice. The Seaford and Italian restaurants were excellent. We liked liked the adult beach area and pool. The only downsidewas the entertainment. It would have nice to have some international acts as the entertainment was solely Jamaican. I can understand that you want to see some of their culture but not every night.

Amazing. I will go again and again! Wasn’t sure what to expect from a Holiday inn resort, as this was my first. But wow!!!! Amazing location just minutes from the airport, not too big, can see the ocean from almost every spot on the resort, every single staff member was friendly, warm, inviting, helpful and happy. Initial reaction to the buffet was that it was small and won’t be very good. Wrong!!!!! Great selection, different choices for every meal,every day,and soooooo much flavour. Not to mention the pool bar with food, snack hit AND jerk hut! Plain and simple, I loved it!

Best beach area we have been to. Third time in Jamaica. Specialty restaurants are great, Italian one the best. Were upgraded to a great room. Shop at Rose Hall for better quality souvenirs and no hassle from the vendors.

Overall, this is a favourable resort. Property was well maintained. Room was clean and comfortable but missed having a fridge. Food was good. There was a wide variety at the buffet and there were hambugers, hot dogs, jerk pork and chicken etc. and snacks available right through the day. Special thanks to Kadene, Rayon and Ecumar for their great service and also the staff at Jerk Hut. Thanks also to Omar, chief executive chef, for his kind gestures. Beach was clean. There are about 3 or 4 sections which are not very deep and more suitable for kids but adults can certainly enjoy. However, there is a need for more huts and shades as the huts were usually reserved by guests as early as 5.00 AM daily. We had an enjoyable time and would definitely return.
