I cannot find anything negative to say at all the rooms are nice, the airconditioning is cold, as are the drinks. The food is really good here lots of things to do and the beach is beautiful. The staff at this resort can't be beat from the grounds people to the concierge and front desk staff are all amazing. Everyone goes out of their way to make your vacation a great one. The entertainment staff do an amazing job during the nightly shows. I have been to this resort now 5 times and will be going back again as soon as i can.

Beautiful atmosphere, service was exceptional, room’s very clean.. always replenished fridge, etc.. Lots of huts and chairs around large pools.. all employees are so professional and friendly.. they go out of their way.. . Fabulous food selection at the buffet, never empty trays of food always replenished quickly.

The grounds at Iberostar Costa Dorada are very nice and walkable ( we loved the Peacocks ) There was lots of palpalas and loungers terraced area, shaded areas at the beach ( pool loungers were taken early ) Lots of food choices at the buffet. The Beach BBQ was very good and they did Paella every day at the beach. The room was very comfortable and clean. Long beach walks and there was some garbage on the beach that was washed in but cleaned up every day. The activity crew and staff were awesome. No vendors on the property but a market nearby if you wanted souvenirs. Very nice lounge area for evening entertainment.

Older but good resort needs work at pool area algae around the pool could use weekly power washing. Buffet area was good could use more a la carte restaurant, beach bbq was excellent. Night entertainment could use some changes same dancers every nite but different themes. Beach area lots of chairs. Staff was excellent lots of games.

Lived up to it's name & reputation. The service was excellent and very professional. Friendly staff throughout and the housekeepers were very attentive. The optimal size - great beach with lots of shade, close to bar, lunch buffet & restrooms. Self-serve pop machine with ice dispenser at beach, with soccer nets and a volleyball area. The surf was gentle and sand was fine; there was some sargassum but only in a small area. Rooms were clean and in good repair, with both local electrical outlets and U.S./Canada plugs as well. Main buffet restaurant always stocked with plentiful choices, lots of fresh seafood with great selection of salad veggies, sweets, breads, and condiments. Next time we come to Puerto Plata we'll be looking here first!

My granddaughter and I recently stayed at the Iberostar Waves Resort in Puerta Plata. All staff were very friendly; the front desk immediately saw to two of my concerns - I wanted a flatter pillow plus our room safe needed resetting. I am very particular about food. The food at the main and beach buffets was fantastic - I had made to order omelets in the morning and at night they put a steak or other meat on the grill for you if you wanted. There was also seafood, even smoked salmon in the morning. I am lactose intolerant and they catered to people with food allergies. They had soy, almond and oat milk plus gluten free bread and low gluten bread. They even had a low sugar desert area. Deserts were five star and they often had a chocolate fountain with fruit kabobs for dipping. Three a la carte restaurants were very good. They cooked paella or seafood in a large caldron outside every day. I loved that. Plus they had a stage at the beach for beach night or excercising. I loved the hotel lobby and the adjoining large bar/coffee shop/seating area. There were shops to browse in plus a general/tourist store. The resort had a plaza with a huge fountain and seating at tables. It reminded me of the outdoor plazas in Europe and I am sure that the fountain was quite old. The bricks around the fountain looked quite old so maybe they moved the fountain from an old town. People played cards during the day and after supper listened or danced to the small band at the village plaza. There was a huge theatre with a show every night. There were lots of activities at the resort - from bingo, outdoor chess, ping pong, spa, gym plus the swimming pools. They even had a enclosed area for young children. We were there from March 10 to 17th and I picked Puerta Plata (instead of Punta Cana) to avoid the seaweed on the beaches. Unfortunately there was seaweed on the beach but there was always a fairly large beach area to get into the water. Water was warm. The resort felt like home and I am looking forward to going back to the Iberostar Waves resort next year.

We have been coming to this resort twice a year since 2018. It’s obvious we love the resort. The pool area and hallway areas are in need of some upgrades. The tiles in the hallways are old and many are discoloured. The outdoor walkways need a little repair to make them safer as they aren’t level and I have seen people with wheelchairs having challenges getting over when unlevel; just need some cement to join the unlevel walkways. Food and service is excellent and cooks and wait staff are extremely helpful and friendly. We are not fans of the à la carte restaurants and do not attend them anymore. The beach snack bar and the buffet restaurants are wonderful. Rooms are ok but need some brightening up. Bathroom showers tend to flood unless you take out the strainer plug entirely. Minibars need to include diet options for those that are diabetic or just cannot drink sugar drinks. They used to have them but our last 2 visits only had full sugar drinks and beer. We will return again in December as we have been advised that they are closing for 2 months to do major repairs and upgrades.

The resort was wonderful. The check in process was smooth and painless and we were shown to our room by a bellboy. The room itself was large and very spacious with a nice balcony overlooking palm trees. The mini bar was stocked daily with 4 cans of beer, 4 pop bottles and a can of sparkling water. On every floor there was a water fountain from where one could refill the water bottle kept in the room. Ice dispensers were readily accessible. The bathroom rain shower was fantastic and the bathroom was well stocked with plenty of towels and toiletries. The resort had a couple of swimming pools which were nicely laid out. The food was amazing with such a huge variety to satisfy even the pickiest eater. Best of all were the bars where you had to hardly wait for a cocktail to be served. In addition, no matter where you sat - out in the gazebo, in the lobby or the pool - there were always waiters circling around asking you if you needed a drink. Even on the beach, servers always came by asking if you needed a drink. Very convenient. We especially enjoyed the daily lunches that were cooked on the beach on an open fire. The paella that I had here on the beach was probably the tastiest paella that I've eaten. The specialty restaurants were nice although honestly one could get better food in the buffets. There was no shortage of lounge chairs on the beach - which was a pleasant surprise as this has been a beef of mine at other resorts, where you either had to wake up very early to grab a lounge chair or wait till someone left and you got their chair. The entertainment got to be monotonous as every day there were the same dancers albeit in different costumes. But the dance moves were all the same and after day 3, one lost all interest. During the karaoke session, the backing track volume levels were so high as to almost drown out the singers. Also the schedule laid out on the Iberostar app as well as displayed on the notice boards was seldom adhered to. As soon as "shaggy" had enough people around, he would begin the tournament. This was not fair to those that came in time for the tournament and were disappointed. Shaggy should exhibit more professional conduct and should be aware of the times posted so he can stick to the times and not to his own schedule. A dart tournament that was supposed to start at 11:30am was almost finished by 11:10am. Twice I landed up at the correct time only to find that the tournament had finished. Venues were also incorrectly labelled as "At the Beach" whereas in fact it was outside the Bohio bar and not the beach. The confusing this is that there was also a dartboard set up on the beach. Maybe once upon a time they used to have the dart tournament on the beach. The table tennis was not even mentioned anywhere yet there was supposedly a tournament held daily. Another resident told me this. At the archery tournament, I found that the bow was designed only for right handed folks whereas I am left handed. Hope the resort corrects this so laft handers can also enjoy some archery. But overall we had an amazing time and were glad we chose this resort. If I were to offer a few suggestions, they would be as follows: 1. If you advertise a time for an event, please stick to it. 2. During Karaoke evenings, ensure that the volume of the backing track is such so as to not drown out the singer's voice. 3. Have a few more coffee machines at the restaurants so we don't have to wait in a line up every time. 4. Have more variety in the entertainment, not the same dancers every day. For example a magic show, or diffent dancers, or impersonators or a musical show. When one sees the same old dancers every day, one loses interest.

Enjoyed size of resort. Very clean. Nice room. Liked water stations. Enjoyed food. Hated the wine. Nice pool. Was windy so beach water was a little weedy. Friendly staff. Unfortunately I got sick o third night of stay which resulted in my being in bed for 30 hours. Then had to eat limited bland food and not drink for most of the rest of my stay. Two days later, my husband was also violently sick and spent the day in bed and couldn’t eat or drink much the rest of the trip with low energy. We didn’t get to partake of the Japanese or Italian restaurants due to illness

Great hotel and atmosphere. We also had great weather! Entertainment was really good and we always had great service! I would definitely recommend this hotel and location to future people who want to travel. It was worth the price!

The staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful. The pool and beach areas were terrific with plenty of sun loungers for all. I was disappointed with the lack of food variety on the buffets especially at lunch time. The ala carte restaurants were good. I would recommend the resort, but with a stipulation about the lack of variety for the food.

Solid 4 Star resort. Excellent service from staff Kennedy, Carlos and Doulche. All 3 AlaCartes were very good. Pool was kept very clean, a bit cool but very refreshing. Bathrooms in rooms upgraded very nicely. Both buffets were also well stocked with great salad bars and hot foods. 7th time visiting this resort and will go back. One negative comment, the resort beach is nice but once u get to the public area’s there is garbage, plastic bottles etc everywhere.

Loved our visit and were blown away with the variety of seafood everyday! The pool & beach were stunning. The rooms were very clean, fridge well stocked and the bed was so comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again. My only regret is to not try on that dress in the Boutique, it was stunning!

This hotel is not a modern unit. But I will say that the management does the best they can do in maintaining its integrity. For the most part the people that work here are very friendly and accommodating. The only problem that I can say I had which is normal almost everywhere that doesn’t have English as a first language is communication. Although it’s not their fault it does make for some difficulties at times. This I where people like Caroline and Gabriel in customer service shine. They truly come to the plate. Caroline helped us when our flight got cancelled to return to our rooms she even brought three other ladies from Burlington in because their hotel left them on their own. When you run into people like this who do more than your tour rep to help you. You have to say THANKS DEAR GIRL. I do recommend this place to young and young at heart. The food is great the grounds are beautiful hotel staff can’t be more helpful. There are plenty of activities if you choose to do them. Or there are plenty of lawn chairs if you do not. I never heard a anyone speaking bad about the hotel in the one week last year and two weeks this year and I’ll be back.

This was our 13th visit to this Iberostar resort. Almost everything was excellent as usual. Only negative this trip was the huge amount of seaweed that landed on the beach about 8-10” deep and about 10-15’ deep along about 1/2km of the beach directly in front of the resort. We simply swam in a clear area but it made walking challenging. As well we both were sick from tuna steak at the buffet. My husband was ok within 34 hours but I am still feeling nauseous after most meals even though I am now home. First time ever happened to us at this resort. Room was excellent and the new wrist band key system is wonderful! No more demagnetized key cards to worry about!

The service,food,activities and bars,workers were all great . Beach was disappointing due to seaweed witch is seasonal but can still swim in ocean at different entry points. The concierge service was excellent Lucy attended to all our needs and more. Rosa the yoga ,Pilates ,Zumba teacher was excellent. Tavares and Mer our regular waiters were excellent and very attentive to all our needs and more. The water system was excellent with no worries re water. Our our room cleaning service was great and did a great job every day. Julian the barman at the beach was excellent ,efficient,smiling and attentive to all our requests. We did not attend the pool only the ocean,always chairs available.

My family of 6 stayed at the Iberostar Waves for 1 week in Nov. 2025. The grounds were impeccable, the food amazing and all staff was very pleasant. I stayed in a room closest to the evening entertainment, which was loud but didn't keep us awake at all. I would definitely recommend this resort.

This was my husband & my second time to the Iberostar Costa Dorada. Last visit was in 2019 just before Covid. Our room was large close to the beach. It was nice and quiet for a good nights rest and the bed was very comfortable. The pool is huge with plenty of lounge chairs. They played Merengue and Batchata music daily which I really enjoyed. The animation team had activities planned daily. They also had fitness instructors everyday that planned HIIT workouts, yoga and Pilates at the beach. The Interval training workouts got the heart rates up and they used the TRX straps too. The beach was perfect and well groomed twice a day. The water was clear with a sandy bottom perfect for swimming. I’d say we spent 8 days at the beach and 5 days at the pool. We had lunch at the restaurant by the pool which was good. They always had a fresh salad selection, pizza, pasta, chicken, pork chops, different cooked vegetables and lovely desserts and fruit. Plus you could get a capachino or drink. In the evenings we went to the front dining buffet which had a very good food selection. Lastly, there were 3 restaurants, Italian, Mexican, and Japanese. This resort also has a kids club with instructors that planned activities for the kids in and out of the pool. I will definitely return to the Iberostar. It’s easy to get around and a good place for all ages. I noticed they had access for wheelchairs to get close to the beach too. The resort is well laid out and there’s no tripping hazards for people with mobility issues.

Amazing hotel. Attention was excellent. Food as well. Rooms are so nice, and the staff were courteous. Place and pool are amazing. This hotel is close the street, so this is a good advantage for people who like to go downtown.

This was our 4th time here. Expected things to be run down a bit over the years, but not disappointed at all. Food was great, grounds were immaculate, and the room was recently renovated. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Disappointed with this resort. Food was boring and pretty much the same every day at the buffet… the a la cartes take food from the buffet.. then try and sell you over priced bottles of wine… when we declined and just asked for house wine at 2 of the a la cartes we were not served any wine at all..customer service depended on how much you tipped…pool was disgusting between the hair and bird poop…we will not be going back unfortunately..:

Although the resort is a bit dated, the facilities were clean. The entertainment crew kept us busy throughout. Shout out to Pina Colada,Ninja and Rambo for all the crazy games. The beach and pool area were amazing. There was never a lack of food or drinks. I will book this resort again.

The hotel is excellent. The food and service was top notch in all locations: the main buffet, the "snack bar" and the three a la carte restaurants. We especially acknowledge Luz at the snack bar, Domingo and Ana López at the buffet restaurant and the two omelette chefs, who made you smile as they created delicious made-to-order omelettes. Another server who was personable and made it very pleasant as she served was Grisledy , who often worked serving drinks at the entertaining shows in the evening. Liz gave us exceptional service at the front desk, as did several others. One front desk chap, whose name started with A, (Alduvis?) went above and beyond to help us with information for a shopping trip into town. Another standout was our chef at the Japanese restaurant, who kept us in stitches with his entertaining banter, nicknames and lively culinary presentation. We were very pleased with the number of well-stocked bars, pristine and elegant public bathrooms, comfortable lounge seating, tables to play bridge, attractive lobby sumptuous towels for the beach, ample lounge chairs at the beach and pool. Our rooms were cleaned promptly each day by friendly, helpful teams of positive cleaners. Every staff member who helped is was polite and accommodating. We Love the emphasis on reducing waste, the water was safe and the system of environmentally friendly water was very inspiring.

We were extremely pleased with our holiday at Iberostar Dorado. The facilities were well cared for. The staff pleasant and efficient. The food was tasty plentiful and available. We enjoyed the Beach and the pool and all who provided assistance . Our family found much much pleasure in being together in such a fine establishment. This was our 3rd time here. It's a beautiful resort. The grounds are so well maintained. The orchid garden is my favorite !. The staff are the most friendly people very. Not once did we encounter any issues. We did have a delay when we arrived as our room wasn't ready. This was a bit frustrating as we were tired from our early morning flight. We had requested a ground or 1st floor with a King bed. Ended up on top floor (2nd) as other request not available. Buildings are 3 floors .. ground, 1st and 2nd floors. Good thing we could still do stairs as we are seniors...lol. Wasn't too sure about some of the food at first, but didn't take long what not to have. I did find some of them meats where overcooked, especially the chicken at the buffet... very dry.. But, always had a great selection, and enjoyed it . Didn't care for the Italian A La Carte. Selected the lasagna, didn't care for it at all. The lasagna at the buffet was much better. Saw a lot of negative comments on a FB group that the pool wasn't clean, we never had a issue with it. Of course you'll have leaves or bugs from time to time, that's normal. The beach was also very well maintained. .. windy, but lovely. Was surprised that they didn't have bar service by the pool.(staff member taking orders) or at the beach. But, access to a bar was never far away. Found out you had to "reserve" your chairs early by the pool if you wanted a good spot that provided shade later in day, Only 1 day when we did the half day City tour we couldn't get chairs at the pool or beach.. very disappointing.. Later found out about the Cruise ships that have excursions to come to the resort for 5 hours. They took any remaining available chairs. Sure enough I noticed at 11am a stream of people coming in with blue towels, different to the ones provide to us staying at the resort. Our room was very clean, no complaints there. Funny thing, the table and 2 Charis in our room had been removed, but not a big deal. Know this from several other times we've stayed at resorts with same room selection. Bar fridge always stocked. (Beer and pop).. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion provided.. Ok, but next time I think I'd take my own shampoo. Had to request face cloths, not left as normal with other towels, only did the once, and they where always then provided. A virus was still going around the resort. So many people had it. Thank goodness only lasted 24 hours. My husband got but I didn't. Remember to take Pepto Bismol with you, and wash your hands and use the hand sanitizer provided at the buffet, and A La Cart locations. Had a lot fun playing some of the games .. darts, ring toss, golf, corn hole toss. Meet a lot of really nice people. Never any issues with people getting out of hand from drinking too much, at least not that we ever saw. Since this was our 3rd visit to this resort, (have also been to Punta Cana and La Romana) we didn't really need to do a lot of the excursions. Our concierge (Taveras) was most helpful. He arranged for a taxi to take us to some spots we had not seen before. Umbrella and Pink Streets .. ok alleys... a must see ! Also went to City Square, the Cathedral and a great Cigar Store Vivonte near the square. Then to Jumbo to buy Brugal Rum, Santa Domingo coffee and vanilla. Another great trip with more memories. If you haven't been to Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada, it's worth trying !!

Honestly, I don't know where to start. But I guess let's start with the best part, the staff. From the moment you check in to the moment you leave, you are treated with the utmost respect, such kindness and a feeling of belonging. I start my day off with the best coffee in the court yard, In my opinion, Yara makes the best! then onto breakfast, where we were greeted every day by amazing staff! A big thank you to generoso, he made sure we never left without a smile. The amazing animation team had us all up and made sure our day was full of laughter and fun, never a dull moment. A big thank you to Pina Colada, Lil weyne, ninga, Road Runner, Smiley, and Rambo. You guys are amazing! The resort is small and just what we like. The rooms are good and clean with friendly cleaning staff our room was always clean and well stocked with drinks. Do I think the resort is the most stunning? No, but it's the sweetest, well-kept, and absolutely feels like home. One last think I definitely cant forget, if you ever need assistance with anything gust related find Manuel he is amazing!! We were returning guests, and I can't wait to rebook for next February! A must visit in my books

The grounds are beautiful and kept immaculate. The beach is wonderful and you can walk for hours. The food at the buffet changes on a daily basis for a week at a time. The servers are wonderful, especially Domingo. The room was perfect. Any issues we had such as our TV not working were fixed in a relatively short period of time, for example, within 24 hours. we were in a near the beach room and the view was beautiful. No complaints and we are looking forward to our next vacation at this hotel.

Horrible service, dated and dirty resort, no one spoke English or French other than the concierge who was also unhelpful. Rooms had only 1 out of the 5 outlets working. Food was just as bad as the service. Also bottom of the barrel alcohols, just such a low quality resort I would have preferred Cuba and I would have saved around 800$ each. To elaborate more, the staff are so focused on speaking to one another, hugging even kissing one another to actually provide any type of service. They have their hand out for tips (literally), several of the bartenders bad attitudes especially the one at the pool bar. We also heard the employees making fun of some of the clients who didn’t understand Spanish. Check in process left us waiting for a room for 2 hours. Beach vendors will legitimately harass you every day, some of them are aggressive in the way they approach aswell. The pool is unheated and unkept. The only positives that I could find are that our room was cleaned and replaced everyday and the beach was ok, nothing spectacular. Overall seriously if you are thinking about booking this resort I’d look elsewhere where… unless there’s a 50% discount this place is not worth your money. Just to add we made friends and just chatted with several different couples who were staying there and had been there a few times prior, we all had the same opinion that this resort has gone so far down hill. The five stars they claim on their website/ the reviews they have are from a decade ago.

Grounds and rooms were clean. It is unfortunate that there is not 24 hour meal options. I was extremely impressed with the pool loungers. They were in excellent condition and not falling apart. The food had lots of variety.

Very clean and joy to stay in resort like Iberostar. Nice pool and beautiful beach. People are nice and friendly. Room service was excellent, Carlos in the restaurant at the beach was the best. Very hard worker and very friendly.

Beach is okay for adults but lots of dirt in the water and choppy. Definitely not for children. Room in Section 3, suoer humid even with AC constantly running. Mold started to develop on bags, visible in bathroom. Also, water dripping on head in the bathroom from high condensation. Pool okay and so is food. Not sure if it was coincidental but lots of people from our group got stomach issues, even a hopsital visit. Service staff is various. Some folks seem being there against there will. Not many smiles. Bar servers fine, reception depends who you get. Ground overall clean and maids are doing their best with what they got.

We had a great time at this resort. Rooms were clean and nice, but ac could have been a bit better in our room. Food at this resort, we found to be good. You could always find something good to eat. We went to the Italian and Japanese, restaurants, but they are not that great. We found the buffet to be much better. The people working at this resort were very pleasant, and helpful with everything. Pool was large and nice and never felt crowded. The beach is huge and you can find lots of shade, and thats a huge bonus. You can walk a long way either way on the beach. The water is not clear at all, but was warmer than the pool. Not a place for snorlelling AT all. The shows at night, were a disappointment, we found them HOOKEY at best unfortunatly. All and All we really enjoyed our 10 days there and would ABSOLUTELY return.

This vacation was alot Better the only thing i noticed is that we were returning vacation and didn’t receive any perks they talk about, but hopefully when we return next year it will be different. We were also told about the renavations that were done to one side of The resort so we are hoping next year we will have the chance to experience those. The Food was great you never went hungery and there was a wide variety of selections and the derests were So good and we tried many of them. The beach was so nice to walk on with all the sand. I would recommend this resort to anyone who wants to enjoy everything. Also accessiblity is good for everyone.

Just came back from 10 days at the Iberostar Costa Dorada. This is my 4th time at this resort and we always leave happy. It's a small resort which is exactly what we wanted as my boyfriend has issues getting around. The food is good and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. We initially got a room on the 3rd floor and after a few days realized it would be a problem for him. The hotel was extremely accommodating and gracious in getting us into a new room on the main floor. The beach is adequate, but can often be rough given the location. I found the pool a little in need of a good clean this time but otherwise, it was great and we would definitely go again.

Resort was small with very few servers. All the bars were very busy constantly and almost impossible to get dinner reservations. The food was decent but absolutely no wow factor. The plating was very poorly done not giving it the picture perfect feel. The beach was ridden with garbage and the sand was also packed of it when you look either way from the hotel. It was actually a very rude awakening of how bad it really is.

It's an older resort, and it shows. Very nicely landscaped grounds, otherwise a dated resort. My 7th Iberostar, and definitively not the best. - Grounds: The lobby and courtyard area are the best for relaxing or enjoying the nightlife - Rooms: Plain, and functional. Our first room was terrible, nothing worked, and the washroom pumbling was bubling, very dangerous! - Layout: A lot of walking for such a small resort. Narrow paths and switchbacks a very annoying - Pool: Nice layout, a bit dated, and needed much more cleaning of debris, dead bugs and feathers - Beach: a typical wavy Dominican beach, with sometimes rough seas, and often closed by the lifeguard. However it's the only quiet spot if you are looking for this. - Bars: long waits at every bar, even if you just want to get a glass of water - 10 minutes; you have to bring your own water bottles, which is not a good thing on vacation / resort. - Food: The buffet was very good. The restaurants can be skipped. You have to line up to get a spot, you cannot reseve 2 of the 3 restaurants, and the Japanese isn't worth reserving. - Staff: The staff is friendly, but don't offer much service. - Other: The New years party was well done, the resort really tries to entertain it's guests with special events! Overall a pleasant experience, marred by lots of small annyances that should not happen at a '5-star', or iberostar resort, especially at these extremely high prices. Still much better than all the other resorts in the area.

This was a beautiful hotel with nice rooms, tons of activities, good food and friendly, fun staff. I was impressed by the gluten-free options available. Not all are visible, so you have to ask. When I asked if they had gluten-free pizza, they made me my own custom-made pizza, which was really good! My only complaint is that the rooms were really cold and when we lowered the air conditioner the bathroom ceiling would drip a lot.

Ocean was not aqua blue, buffet was edible but not top quality, rooms are very clean, use the blow dryer to dry your sheets because it’s damp! Service was great, nice gym, peaceful place. Eat right at 6PM when the buffet opens.

Everything was maintained very well. Good food and the a la carte restaurants were very good good. Ocean was rough a few days but nothing the resort could do about that.overall highly recommend to anyone

Stayed for 15 days at this resort December 1-16. We have been here around 12 times since 2018. The Oceanview room is very nice if in building 1 but building 5 is located beside condos being built and is quite noisy. Our a/c broke in our original room in building 5 and they moved us to another room in building 1. It was wonderful to have a quiet room. Food is quite good and they theme the nights so it isn’t totally the same thing each night. Domingo is the server we have had since we started coming to the resort and he is amazing. Manuel is a customer service representative and he too is wonderful and so helpful. Only complaint we have is the bar staff in the lobby bar are not very good. If you tip them good then they serve you as soon as they see you and everyone else can try to get served if you’re lucky. Thus unfortunately has been going on since we first vacationed at this resort. This definitely needs to be improved! The beach was quite dirty with areas of garbage this year more so than any other time we have been there. Likely it is garbage being washed ashore but considering tourism is their main source of revenue, it would be beneficial if they could take care of this. Perhaps it is because of the many storms that washed garbage into the ocean but the aftermath needs to be taken care of for health reasons. All in all we had a great vacation and are already planning our return in February 2025!

It was a very nice resort. People were very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. The Japanese restaurant was exceptional, Very entertaining. The only problem I had was there entertainment was not as good as I had hoped. I wax hoping there would be some live dancing or soneth continued after the theater was done. There was no sports bar or anywhere to hang out.other than that everything was very good.

My wife and I arrived on Wednesday, August 21 for one week. Before I write this review please remember it’s all about expectations. if you’re looking for a brand new resort with high-end food choices, this resort is not for you. The hotel was very clean but does show its age. Approximately half the rooms of the hotel were under renovation to update the look and was very impressed that even though construction was going on, it was still relatively quiet. The staff of the hotel were very attentive, our room was cleaned every day, our concierge “Donkey” very helpful and was attentive to all our needs. The food at the resort was good, the buffet always had a nice variety. There are three à la restaurants, Mexican, Italian and Asian, the food of these restaurants again we’re good, my wife and I really enjoyed the Mexican restaurant. The beach It’s not your typical Dominican white puffy sand But was still very beautiful and picturesque, being on the Atlantic side, it is definitely a lot more windier. I think due to storms the previous weeks there was more sea weed than normal, this was cleaned daily. The actual swimming area was also limited, water buoys marked the areas you were to stay in. The only drawback on this vacation was the pool, the cleanliness needed to be more frequent, the debris, dead bugs and bird faeces needed more attention. Overall for the price that we paid for this week of vacation we were very satisfied.

The grounds were nicely kept but due to the lack of service, that alone turned me off. The food and rooms were a 7/10 for me. The entertaining could have been better. It wasn’t crazy busy so I would have expected better service than what we received. They had water stations set up on each room block and had glass jug for you to fill up daily but can’t bring that to beach so I would suggest bringing your water bottle to take with you as they don’t have bottles in the fridge.

Just came back from this resort very stunning the resort is really big with great views the only thing I did not like was the food menu as breakfast was the same every single day and lunch dinner was different everyday though. Also staff wasn’t that helpful we wanted to order beers to the room they wouldn’t help us out also staff doesn’t speak English well so it was very big miscommunications all the time. Overall was a good experience pool was very nice it did take long at the bar to get a simple drink. Also to add, the rooms had a weird smell like moldy water smell the view for the junior suite was horrible also requested for the room to be decorated for my husbands birthday and that was not done

We had an amazing 15 days at this resort. First time at this hotel. The food was excellent from buffet, snack bar, beach BBQ and Ala Cartes. Great selection. Pi zza and steaks were amazing. Their seafood paella made on the beach was so yummy. The animation team was excellent keeping guests entertained with the games that were scheduled in the morning and late afternoon. The entertainment team in the evening put on amazing shows. Everyday was something different ND at times games with guests. They also had dancing and the entertainment team mingled wirh the guests. It was alot if fun. I will definitely go back.

The resort was nicely layed out. The room we had was a non-updated room. Could certainly use updating. Slight musty smell but was told by travel representative that’s standard with the high humidity. Food was really good. Pool was large with lots of loungers as long as you got there early. Beach was disappointing. Seaweed and garbage floating close to shore. Always murky since the waves further out churned up the sand and that drifted in. If you don’t care about swimming in the ocean, this resort would be fine for you. There is ongoing construction on the one side of the resort during the week with lots of noise. Service was good. Kudos to the maintenance man as we had a few issues with the room - mini fridge not working, broken shower wand, leak I ceiling of bathroom and power to our room being blown. Those issues were quickly fixed. NOTE: controls for lights, fan and air conditioner are on the headboards behind the pillows.

I went for 7 days to the Iberostar Costa Dorada. I had a good time, but the weather rained for the whole week, which put a damper on the vacation. The staff was polite, respectful, helpful, and not pushy. The food was good, with a lot of selection. The pool was big, and entertainment during the day was great. Nighttime entertainment was not anything special. Some issues were the lines at the bar. You would have to wait ten minutes for one drink, and they would only have one bartender. As well as, seating was limited for the amount of people that were there. The rooms were outdated and musty when I was there, possibly due to the humidity. However, the rooms were very clean. The beach is not great, and the grounds could have been better kept. The pool wasn't very clean but was dirty, too. Overall, for the price we paid, it was an excellent resort, but it wasn't anything special.

The resort was lovely, the food was excellent, all of the staff were extremely friendly. There was a lot of room at the beach and pool and the choice of lots of activities to participate in if you wanted. The theme dinners, beach bbq and restaurants were all very good. Overall, an excellent stay

Had a great experience at this resort, would recommend! The resort is clean and very well kept up. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We accidentally locked ourself out of the safe in our room and after we reported it at the front desk, a security guard came a few minutes later to help us unlock the safe. The food at the resort is good and there is some variety at the main buffet. We found that much of the food at the buffet is similar throughout the week, but that wasn't an issue for us and we always found things we enjoyed eating. Most importantly to us, we didn't get sick! The best meals we had were the lunches at the beach - would definitely recommend eating at the beach! We didn't pay for a room upgrade and stayed in the basic room, but it was perfect for us. Simple room but very clean, spacious, and had a nice balcony. The resort felt safe and the beach and pool were fantastic, which were our main priorities. Had a great experience, would recommend!

Resort is older but they are slowly working on it to improve it grounds are nice our room face the orchid garden food was always good and fresh bacon every day different themes nights beach BBQ and etc pool was good lots of activities to do if you want to condos are been builded next door noise not too bad from our room build 6 or 5 might be alittle worse

Our first stay in Oct. 2023 was Amazing. Our second stay on April 08, 2024 was 3/4 amazing. We did not get a WELCOME BACK sign on our door. And when I told the front desk they had no idea it was our second stay. Over all we might return the resort is great for entertainment and there is Alot to do on the resort.

The grounds were impeccable. The resort is an older resort but the rooms were spacious and clean. Had some problems with a few things but the staff was quick to remedy them. There was a great selection of food so no one should go hungry as anyone could find something to eat. The entertainment staff did their best to put on a variety of different shows every evening and the activity staff got many people to join in the festivities .

As a third time visitor to this resort, I can assure you if you are a solo traveller you are absolutely safe there. One of my main reasons for going to this hotel. They continue to be smart and have the same person clean your room daily. Therefore, they get to know you and you feel more confident versus some hotels changing housekeepers every 3 days. The front desk etc does not sluff you off and speak fluent English. The hotel is small medium so easy to find things quickly. The food is good and plentiful. The only drawback I found this year was them offering you a free massage if you attend a so called short introduction. Unless you are keen on investing into their hotel package offer decline. For 2.5 hours you will waste of your holiday. The first clue is when they ask your occupation. The other downfall is the quality of entertainment at night, however a bit prejudice after I saw what they are capable of that way in Jamaica. On a different note they are unbelievable in recycling and they are way ahead. Impressive. They have many repeat guests and their fan page is so helpful. You give a shout out and a guest will immediately reply. I highly recommend this. The main issue was people begging for Benadryl for mosquito bites. So please take that and mosquito repellant. You can't see the mosquitos so very tiny but they itch like crazy. Overall, I would return again, just annoyed that they weren't too upfront on the buy in process re hotel and the time it takes. Tourists are very friendly and helpful. Have fun, you will return!

This resort has beautifully maintained grounds, the shared areas are very well maintained and there is always someplace to sit and enjoy the ambiance in the evenings. Wifi is great everywhere - even the beach. If you are able I suggest staying in building 5 which has a great view of the beach. We found the Italian restaurant the best, the Japanese restaurant food was salty and one note. The beach was fantastic and great for long walks.

I have to say that the review that had us decided to try this hotel was very on point. It is very clean, the staff are all very friendly and the food was good without being 'wow'. The system for reserving your 'à la carte' is not very good. You can only reserve for two days at a time, in advance and need to wait in line to do it. I am on Vacay, no I don't want to spend my time in a line! Please change this. The problems we mostly had was with the sound level. Why scream to be heard when you are using a microphone? Your voice does not have to be heard a mile away! At the pool, the guy was talking loud in the mike. At the show, they were not talking, they we talking loud, in an incessant tone, of 'I want to get you excited'. I can hear very well thank you, and if I am at the show, you don't have to yell to have me interested in the show. Also, the music was too loud for the children, especially at the kid's show. The 'boom.boom.boom: music is not needed. At the Japanese restaurant, I could have thought myself in a Greek restaurant. Hoopa there, and hoopa here, and screaming sentences from Greek movies, what was that? Not a single Japanese reference in there except for the décor. Please, add dividers between the four shows, as it gets VERY loud in there. Food was ok but burnt. Pool was always too busy for me, beach was a nice place, but water is very weedy. Not enough to deter me from going in the water. So as you can see, the place was nice, the staff very nice but some parts need improvement if I go back.

We love love love this resort!!! Everything was fantastic… the food, the people, the grounds, the restaurants and our room. We have travelled a lot and this is by far our favourite place and we will be returning. Special shout out to Santo at the buffet restaurant for making us feel so welcome, Peter at the front desk was very excellent , Manuel, Pina Colada, and Pikachu were very nice and helpful as well. The cappuccino’s are top notch here… been home 4 days and miss it already! We definitely will return.

The resort was exceptionally clean everywhere. Staff including the housekeepers, front desk , bar staff, animation staff etc. were sincerely friendly . Lots of activity all week at the.pool and beach. We found the food to be very good with enough variety . Lovely beach for walking. Great waves for playing in the water. We would definitely return to this resort when in Puerto Plata.

We have been returning to this resort twice a year for the last 5-6 years. Wonderful staff, great food, enjoyable entertainment and amazing beach! Lisbeth, Manager of Public Relations took care of our every need. We will, however, make sure we book our December vacation early enough so we can get our usual Oceanfront Jr Suite as we prefer the larger size rooms and view directly over the beach to the ocean. This past stay was a Premium Near the Beach room, a little smaller and slightly near the beach. All in all a wonderful 15 days were had by us.

I was happy with the resort except for that we only had water stations and when I went to get water from the water station outside our room it was filled with sludge and than when we checked into our room room 3007 the bed was damp we reported it to the desk and that we wanted to be moved but because they were Full the couldn’t move us and within two days I was sick because Of sleeping in a damp bed and when one of our friends touched our bed they couldn’t get over how wet it was and we even turned the air conditioning off and it didn’t help so my week of vacation I was sick and came home Sick and ended up on antibiotics and puffers because Of it I will never stay on the ground floor again.

Clean rooms, good food, friendly people with great entertainment. We had no complaints. Our ocean view was breath taking. Monkeyland, Ocean world and the Waterfalls of Damajagua were the highlights of our trip

We expected this so called 5 star resort to really stand up to its reputation which I eventually realised has been built through fake reviews. We were given a smelly/damp room that smelled of Mold and it took the resort 3 days to change our room. Thats more than half of our vacation spent in a smelly room, its a shame I can't get my money back. The reception made false promises and we had to spend most of our time in the heat outdoors to save ourselves from the mold. I went on to read some of the negative reviews about this resort and realised that this is a common problem that people face there. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. The resort pool and beach area are great and the entertainment team is excellent, the food is average. The drinks are good. The resort could have easily helped us by changing our room when we complained but its just upsetting that a so called 5 star resort will make you spend 3 days in a DAMP room!

We stayed at the Iberostar Costa Dorada from Feb. 11 - 18, 2024. The resort itself is a bit on the small side, older and a bit dated. That is pretty much it for the negatives. The Costa Dorada is a beautifully landscaped and clean resort, situated well on a beautiful stretch of beach. The ocean was rough the week we were there which limited the time on the beach and in the ocean, but the sand was always clean during the day. If you are staying 7 or more nights you are guaranteed 3 to 4 reservations at one of their 3 a la carte restaurants. After you use your guaranteed reservations you can make additional reservations after noon the day of (this was not well communicated so we didn't find out until our last day). We ate at the Japanese restaurant twice (teppanyaki) the first time was great and very high energy, the second was not high energy and a bit disappointing. The Italian restaurant was also very good, my wife went back a second time just for the risotto. The best part of the resort was the staff! The concierge were amazingly helpful and friendly. George was our primary concierge and helped make reservations and provided information about the resort and the area and some pointers on excursions. When George wasn't there Lis and the rest of the team were equally helpful. The service staff at the restaurants take obvious pride in their jobs and were so help and friendly. The staff at the buffet were very friendly and attentive and really helped get the morning off to a good start. I wish I knew the name of the cook at the omelet station for our first 4 days, he was great and entertaining :). The resort is nice and the weather can't be beat but it is the people of the Costa Dorada that really made our vacation! We would definitely go back.

We've been to this resort 6 times now. It's just the right combination of size, food quality, staff friendliness and extras like orchid gardens, peacocks, a beach barbecue, super animation team and shows and of course lots of ice cream!

Enjoyed another relaxing week at the Iberostar Costa Dorada. Our 7th time staying here did not disappoint. Kennedy, Carlos and Dulche took very good care of us for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The pool is huge and refreshing. Selection at breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet was more than generous. Ala Carte restaurants were also very good. Activity in the lobby area during the evening hours was very good with music, vendors and theme food nights going on every night. This is a solid 4 Star resort and we look forward to our next visit.

This hotel exceeded our expectations. Lots of food and variety at the buffets. We ate at the Italian and Japanese a lacarte restaurants they were both amazing. Top shelf liquor at the bars, all the staff were so happy and friendly. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The beach is clean and taken care of. Lots of lounge chairs both on the beach and at the pool.

Iberostar Costa Dorada gives you everything you want for a sunny getaway. The staff is amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the food is excellent. The pool is large with tons of room for everyone of every age. There is shallow areas for small kids and weak swimmers. Stairs and handrails for the elderly or unstable. The water is clean and the staff are always clearing and cleaning any debris from the trees or the guests. The beach is beautiful and the staff work hard to keep the seaweed clear. It is not always clear but the resort can't control mother nature. The food is amazing. The main buffet has something for everyone. The three restaurants are excellent and entertaining. Sakura is a delicious meal and an amazing show. Overall the only low point of the resort is the vendors they have come in. They are pushy and rude. If you say no thank you they will just keep asking even as you walk away. Some have even been aggressive when you refuse to look. But that is also not in the control of the resort. We have been to many different resorts in the DR and we love this one and keep coming back. The resort is also starting to update and upgrade the rooms to make it even more welcoming. WE LOVE THIS RESORT AND CAN'T WAIT TO COME BACK!!!!!!!!!

With Iberostar you always know what you'll get. Same layout, mostly same fitures. Costa Dorada is an older resourt, but it's in very good shape. Food and service are good. Rooms are comforable and clean. We asked for delayed check out and got it for $10/hour. Beats seating in the lobby for many hours. Airport transfer could be more comfortable.

This was our fourth time there. I have all the best to say about the resort. Everyone was nice and helpful. Beach was great, rooms very nice and clean. Cleaning staff was excellent. Servers were great, working very hard to make sure we had a good time.

Everything with the resort was awesome. Great food and lots of it. Staff were very helpful. Beach area had a lot of weeds, but staff did their best to clean it up daily. Would definitely return again.

I have been to this resort 4 times now. 3 times with my husband and once on a girls trip for my birthday. I do need to note that I upgrade to prestige every time I go to this resort so I can't elaborate on the base amenities. I love this resort mostly for the wonderful staff who make you feel so welcome and are extremely friendly. The beach is beautiful but it does get seaweed washing up, which the staff clean up daily if not numerous times a day. The upgraded bar selections are great and the bartenders will gladly mix you any drinks you desire. Stella and Corona are only offered in the prestige level so you need the upgrade. I like the restaurants but the buffet is my favorite because of the selection. I am vegetarian and my husband is not but we both walk away full and satisfied. They offer late night food and the disco is fun! The rooms in the prestige level are not super fancy but they are clean and nice. The entertainment team is great and they do a beach party on Thursday nights. I will definitely be returning.

Just got back from a week at Iberostar Costa Dorada and it was awesome! First off, the resort itself is beautiful. Very well kept grounds and very clean resort. The rooms are very spacious and the bathroom is great also, with a barrier free walk in shower and rainfall shower head. The food at the resort was really good, especially breakfast with all the fresh fruit and fruit juices. Everything was delicious and very fresh. The only issue I had was with the bars/bartenders. They were really sparing with the alcohol, and for me who isn’t a big drinker to notice that it is a pretty big deal. For me to have to ask for more rum in my piña colada is really annoying.

I have found that the Iberostar hotels have a great vibe for a relaxing vacation. This resort is clean, the staff so, so friendly and accommodating. You can either join in with the games or just relax and read books, vacation your way. The ocean was red flag our entire time there but we were okay with that, you cannot control weather.

We were at Iberostar Costa Dorada for nine days in early December.We travelled with air transit and their service was very good. The resort itself was very clean and the grounds are beautiful. The beach was kept very clean and we went daily. We swam in the ocean and it was warm. It was a nice stretch of beach that you could walk for a bit on if you wanted to walk. The pool was well maintained , we used it daily also. They lit up their Christmas lights December 7 and that was amazing. The main grounds looked magical. That was a very special experience. Food was good at all restaurants with lots of variety. We would return to this resort.

This is a beautiful picture perfect resort. We just returned from 2 weeks at Iberostar Costa Dorado. Great oceanfront view and highly recommend Building 1 as the other oceanfront building has a condominium development being built beside it and the work is starting to get noisy. Food is great along with staff; Domingo is the best server and Manuel in customer service is wonderful! Entertainment definitely needs some higher quality singers and the shows are a bit dated. The beach is gorgeous and we went on 5-10km walks daily! One great thing here are the amount of lounge chairs; never had to “reserve” chairs as they were never out of them. We always sat in the second row facing the ocean. We preferred not to sit directly on the beach. The bar service this time was much better and they were much more acute in serving as you arrived at the bar. Previous visits you would only be served in a timely manner if you tipped. Must have gotten multiple complaints as so much better this stay. Cleaning staff work hard and they did a great job! Will be returning again.

We found the resort to be very pleasant well maintained property was in good shape food could have used a bit of an improvement to wish the food and buffets were labeled because it was hard to decide which you want to eat if you didn't know what the name it was

The grounds were beautiful, clean and well manicured. The room was nothing special but how much time do you spend in your room anyway? The pool was large and wonderful. We enjoyed our vacation and would recommend it! The only negative is that the room had alot of humidity so much so that the sheets felt wet when you finally go to bed.

This resort was Amazing! Everything was clean and well maintained and compact. Staff were awesome! Big beautiful pool, with lots of loungers.You do not have to get up early to save a chair. Food was excellent. The Mexican and Japanese restaurants are a must try. Great beach with lots of loungers. My room was spacious and very clean and had everything you could need. Very modern. The Spa was lovely. Will definitely return. FYI:SMOKER FRIENDLY

Very enjoyable stay. Good food. Lots of lounge chairs. Very friendly staff. My only complaint was that on the last day check out was at noon and the flight home was not until 10:00 pm. I will not book a package with that departure time ever again.

We recently had an azing stay at the resort. I was very please by the quality of the service. The people were dedicated to address any of our needs with a large smile. However, we had multiple issues with the window and after the team came to fix the lock, the frame of the window was broken. It was quiet dangerous since the glass was not sucurly attached. I asked for someone to fix it but no one came...

We stayed at this resort from June 30-July 4. Overall it was ok. The few staff members we interacted were great from beginning to end. The food was ok nothing to rave about. The beach was very nice. There were a few mishaps like on our last night the resort had no water. The entertainment is only for the locals. If you are looking for something cheap this is the resort. Don't expect too much. This was my second visit and I noticed the decrease in care and value of the place.

Nice overall. Can only think of positives. Had a super vacation. Staff is friendly and amazing in general. Long line to check in but we forgot about it as soon as we entered our air conditioned room and went straight to the beach. Never used pools which they have several. The water there is as hot as pee.

We just returned from Iberostar Costa Dorado and don't have any complaints. This was our second time at this resort. The resort was well maintained, there were a ton of beach loungers and our room was great. The only complaint we have is the outside vendors that are brought in are extremely pushy. They do not take no for an answer and were getting very upset with us if we did not buy anything. We would not hesitate to return for another vacation.

This was an incredible experience!! We went with 18 family members of various ages and each one of us had a great time! The food was incredible, pool was warm, and the drinks were cold! You will not be disappointed here!

Great all-inclusive resort with very friendly hospitality! The resort was a bit dated but well maintained, for the price I am not complaining! Very family friendly, however, keep in mind there are no elevators for higher level rooms so make sure you check with concierge if you have babies w/ strollers! Overall, would go back! It’s a beautiful resort, lovely landscaping, friendly staff - chocolate & vanilla taught me archery skills and I won 3 tournaments in a row, it was a great feeling, enjoyed every minute of my time at this resort. Food was amazing, the housekeeping staff was so nice and friendly too! The only thing i would suggest for the resort to take note of is updating the rooms, especially the bathrooms as they were dated for a 4 star resort. And wish they had a café shop with a separate lounge. Other then that, our stay at this place was great 👍

The resort is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. Staff is amazing and very helpful. The food is excellent and has a great selection for everyone. I must say the beach barbecues were excellent. Our room was fine and we had hot water all the time. The showers in the older rooms are hand held and they do splash wayer on the floor but we just put a towel on the floor no big deal. Lots for everyone to do on resort with the entertainment thru the day if you want to participate. Nice long beach to walk . There is seaweed but lots of places to swim that have no seaweed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back next year. Thank you Ibestar Costa Dorada for a perfect vacation.

Our fourth stay at an Iberostar Resort. Although this hotel is a little older than the others we stayed in it was very enjoyable. Hotel and grounds and beach are all kept very clean. We had a pool view room on the third floor. Was excellent. Room and balcony a nice size. Always found something good to eat at the buffet and the Italian and Japanese Restaurants were excellent. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Costa Dorada.

Everything great except they do not accept Cnd. money at their hotel currency exchange.!! Only U.S. and Euro's. Had to get taxi($60 U.S. return) to change money at City currency exchange. I believe you should highlight this when advising clients visiting this hotel to perhaps change at airport on arrival. Entertainment at night is pathetic, grade 5 school level. T.V. has NO shows in English for kids or adults. Surely they can afford U.S. cable stations?? Will try somewhere else next year for these reasons..

Buffet was great. Japanese restaurant and Mexican restaurant okay. Italian restaurant terrible. Drinks were terrible especially at the beach and pool bars. Staff were excellent, very friendly. Resort has a nice layout and feel but rooms and overall amenities need a refresh.

The last six getaway trips have been to Iberostar in Jamaica twice , la Romana twice, and lastly in Varadero. After our three year absence due to Covid…. We ventured to the Iberostar Costa Dorada in puerto plata. Well, we were not disappointed.. it is a lovely and well maintained hotel. They are environmentally responsible in all areas. Impeccable service, spotless rooms and excellent food! The beach is nice and pool area is spacious and very popular! I highly recommend this resort.. probably the best in puerto plata!

Everything was excellent for a 4 star hotel, the rooms, the pool, the grounds, the food, but especially the staff. Food service, bar and maintenance staff all excellent. Hope to return again in the future.

A fun and relaxing week at this beautiful resort. The staff were all amazing. Special Cuoto's to Kennedy, Carlos and Dulcee. This was our 5th time staying at this resort. If I could make one suggestion. Have some drink service at the pool. 4 servers taking drink orders would be an added upgrade to an already beautiful resort.

This is a nice resort. I would rate it 3.5 star .The staff was friendly. The grounds kept clean. Entertainment was average. One area that can be improved is food quality and variety. Breakfast had plenty of fried hotdogs and baloney. Unfortunately these are not what I would consider breakfast meats. Bacon was scares . Out of the 10 days we were there they served bacon on 3 of those days and no breakfast sausage on any days. Lunch buffet was the same every day ,pizza hamburgers salads and limited lunch meats. The A la cart restaurants were average. The Italian restaurant served only pasta dishes. There was no veal or chicken parm,no lasagna , no pizza. I would not recommend the ltalian. Japanese and Mexican A la cart were good not great. If you are looking for a steak dinner this is not the resort you will find it at. The beach is kept clean. Seaweed was cleaned every morning .Overall a pleasant resort but I don't think I would go back to it. There are many better options on the island for $100 or $200 more. I was in Punta Cana on my last visit to the island which has much newer construction. Puerto Plata is a much older location and it shows.

Service, cleanles, food, entertainment and facility are applicable to 8 stars. Iberostar Costa Dorada has one problem with beach, too much sea plants on the beach and this is the ocean fault. Staff tried to clean the beach but this helped only for few hours

Check in didn't exactly go as planned,{assigned room was not ready until the following day} once settled in the accommodations were fantastic. All the staff were very friendly but had no explanation for the mishap. Food was readily available throughout the day but limited in the evenings ,{Brasilia restaurant no longer available}. Evening entertainment was also limited and repetitive. Beach and pool were fantastic!
