The hotel was great. We really enjoyed ourselves. The service, food, pool was great. The staff was always there eager to help. The room was nice a clean but a bit too cold. The beach was nice but a lot sargassum. The maintenance staff worked tirelessly to clean it up. I would recommend the BARCELO BEACH.

Clean, great entertainment and shows. Staff is very friendly. Loved it! Would go back. My kids loved it as well. There was a great coffee shop and boardwalk to wonder around on. A bit big but its ok

We really enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort in Punta Cana. However, we were very disappointed as many other tourists in this resort to see the extreme sargassum situation on the beach, which made the beach unusable. The smell of seaweed from the beach caused a strong unpleasant smell in the pool areas. I believe when booking this area with a travel agent, the travel agent should be able to warn the consumer of this extreme situation. We are beach people and this put a damper on our vacation. We could not even walk along the beach. We chose this particular resort because of the calmness of the ocean. I know this cannot be remedied due to nature and extreme climate changes on the Atlantic Ocean side, however, to pay full price for a resort and not have the use of the beach proved to be very disappointing for us, as well as many other tourists on this property. I had done much reading and research and I was aware of this situation however upon arrival I was astonished to see the amount of sargassum which even the best of crew members were unable to keep up with. We enjoyed the fact that we were able to use the facilities of the Bavaro Palace it's sister property. However, in comparison the Animacion team and the shows differed immensely! We found the Barcelo Beach side was just too quiet with many activities cancelled without notice on their activities schedule and no vacation vibes music played throughout the resort. There was only one show on the beach side that we enjoyed. We found that we were always taking the train to the Barcelo Palace side to use the gym, the hydroptherapy spa, they included two free visits and the massive pools. The Animacion team made a valiant effort and the shows were of high caliber on this side as well. We did have a decent room with a King bed and much to our surprise we had an ocean view. The variety, presentation, and abundance of food was highly noticably, however even though they had advertised a gluten free station at their buffets, there were no such stations and I had a gluten free card, it was hard for them to accomodate my needs and, I am lucky that I do understand and speak Spanish since at this resort most of the employees do not speak English. They were more than happy to accomodate my eating needs at three of the a la carte restaurants that we ate at. Overall, the cleaninness and the abundance of pools and a la carte restaurants and buffets were plenty when were allowed to use both resorts.

The food there is excellent, clean beaches, clean rooms, friendly staff not very big for entertainment. Most of the entertainment was at the palace. You would take a train ride over there and you can watch shows go to the disco casino lots of things over there to do if you just want to relax this is the perfect resort for you

We recently stayed here for an annual boys golf trip. We had a great time. Course was in good shape and met our needs, we would go back again for sure. Although the rooms were a bit dated we were not worried as we didn't plan to be there too much. The resort made up for it with great food and better amenities. Lots of different areas to visit and pools to be at if you wanted to have a good time or sit in a quiet area. Bonus was the spa, after long day of golf and a few pool drinks, we hit the sauna, hot tub and cold plunge daily for no extra cost. Please note for the golf, although its 'included' in your trip there was a daily fee for using the carts of $95.00 per person per round.

Beautiful Beaches and Grounds. Wide selection of dining options and good variety of food. The hotel rooms were a bit tired but they were clean and a good size. Overall staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

4th time at Barcello Beach. Grounds and buildings are beautifully maintained. Excellent 18 hole golf course on property. Vibe is chill. Food exceptionally good. Service excellent. Adults only pool is beautifully designed.

The resort was good. The breakfast was the best meal of the day. Made you eggs to order. The food could be better. I would recommend this resort and would return for a future vacation. Good atmosphere and staff would amazing.

Great resort lots to do we are golfers the golf course in nice but pricy we bought the 4 day package for $72 each a round but it went up to $92 for the 4 day package March 1st US funds which is expensive when your golf is included the resort itself is huge lots to do. The rooms are nice the bathrooms could do with some updating other than that everything was fine

ROOMS WERE GREAT. SERVICE WAS PERFECT. ENJOYED BEACH AND POOL. GOLF WAS FUN AND CHALLENGING WITH THE WIND. ATE WELL AND WILL DEFINATELY GO BACK. STAFF WAS ATTENTIVE AND WILLING TO HELP IN ALL WAYS. VERY EASY GETTING AROUND THE RESORT AND MANY DIFFERENT PLACES TO EAT.

Staff were all pleasant. They need to monitor the loungers at the pool and the beach area for reserved spots that are not used. We observed people reserving loungers at the pool and the beach area for a number of hours and not use them leaving people not being able to take advantage of relaxing at the pool or the beach.

Had a great time, the food was amazing. Needed a few more days of sun the weather wasn't the greatest. Staff are all amazing. Rooms are good, biggest bed in the world. Beach was beautiful. This was our second visit and would do it again. Thank you

The hotel is very good! Everything is close . The beach is beautiful! The grounds are very well kept. The rooms could use some updates especially the showers could be walk in, easier for seniors. Overall we had a great vacation, the weather was fantastic!!!

Our stay at Barceló Bávaro Beach was wonderful, as always. The staff were incredibly friendly and the service throughout the resort was excellent. The food was outstanding and truly seems to get better each time we visit. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. One of the things we appreciate most is the compact layout of the resort—everything from the pool to the beach to the buffet is just a short walk away. For anything farther, the trolley runs frequently and provides easy access to additional amenities. What could be improved is the bar area, which could use a makeover since the chairs and overall setup feel old and dated. It would also be great to have a bar directly on the beach instead of having to walk back to the pool bar. Another feature we would love to see added is a snack bar for quick bites between meals—something like a small hamburger or snack shack would be a perfect addition. On a positive note, the golf course was in very good shape and offered fun, challenging rounds; although short, the well-protected greens made the course especially enjoyable. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this resort.

Great place for a 5 day escape.The golf course was our main reason for being there and it exceeded our expectations. The food and drinks were plentiful and the a la carts restaurants were a great option other than buffets.

Great Hotel and location, excellent friendly Staff, Good restaurants and bars. only issue was that rooms need to be up dated specially the bath room. plumbing issues, doors not closing. and very tight space between the Bath Tub and the Toilet. shower inside a Bath Tub is not suitable for many guests. just a nice shower will do the trick. shuttle between hotels was great, enjoyed the nice Pool and the Beach, will be back,

Almost everything was perfect. The pools, the beach, the food and especially the staff were all amazing. However, the rooms are in massive need of renovations. They are tired and do not do justice to the rest of the resort. We unfortunately will not stay on the Adult side until the rooms are redone.

The pool was great and lots of chairs. Most of the time we could get some. Beach was awesome and close. We like how pool and beach were close to rooms. Buffet was Ok, decent variety. Close restaurants were ok but all similar. We were expecting all inclusive but some restaurants charged for a reservation. Make sure you take an adapter for the AC outlets as they do not accept 3 prong plugs. Rooms had the typical smell. Buffet staff need some customer service training as we had to ask for water etc, plate removal very slow and limited english.

The hotel LOOKED exactly the same, but the Customer Service Dept. was sadly lacking in people who understood and spoke English. Also disappointed in the Air Transat Rep. who was almost rude when addressing me. I took me until Thursday to obtain face cloths for the room because they said (Cust. Serv.) that I was not listed as Premium level. The Brisa restaurant whom I had reserved was also lacking in a cook who could not accomodate people with special needs diets. I am allergic to pepper and asked that it not be used in my food. The result was a blacked (charred black) steak which was SUPPOSED to be beef bourgonyon with mashed potatoes and caramalized onions. I was given rice (barely cooked) and no onions at all. On the other hand, I had a reservation at Chez Gourmet and had really good service and ChateauBreand. Cooked perfectly. I was very pleased with this restaurant. Also, the Caribe Buffet Restaurant was very accomodating and had a wide selection of food from turkey, ham and the best roast beef I've had in a long time. The servers were excellent and anticipated everything. Suffice it to say, I will not be going back there again, which is a shame because that was my fifth trip to that hotel. I started going there in the 80's before there was an adult side and a children's side. This would have been my last hurrah as I turned 76 this year and was travelling alone. I found that because I didn't have a partner beside me that I was ignored at the bars and by pool servers for the most part.

The hotel and grounds were exceptional. Rooms could have used more attention to as our phone in the room didn't work over half the time, no hairdryer nor any turn down service or cleaning of the room happend during our stay unfortunately.

Adult side of the Barcelo Bavaro complex, great location on the beach. Beach no problem getting a lounger any day, there was always availability. Water was calm and clear, swam with the fish and turtles. Ground were clean and well maintained. Staff very pleasant and helpful, even with a language barrier at times. Some activities in the evening but it was an easy 5-6 minute walk to the main area at Palace if you want more late night activities. There was always good food available. We found the Buffets often had the same if not better food than the restaurants. Had our best meal at Santa Fe. The buffets at the Palace had more choice than Beach but were much busier. The room ( we were at the basic level) was dated but had what you would need. Most rooms close to the main area. The gym at the main resort had decent equipment for a resort but was busy at times. Had something taken from the shelf that was never found, not what you would expect at a higher end resort. We would visit again and would recommend the adult side for a relaxing vacation

Grounds were absolutely perfect...beach was beautiful. Everything was so clean and staff were helpful. Room was dated but very clean. Very difficult to get a chair by the pool if you didn't play the "towel chair saving game"

This resort is very well kept everything was clean and they were fixing and repairing anytime it was needed. The air-conditioning was fabulous, always had hot water. The service at the buffet and pool was a bit laced seemed a couple of the waitresses did all the work. A couple of times we had to wait for towels. Very nice resort!!

The beach was was clean and no waves. There were plenty of bedchairs on the beach. It was for the first time going to a resort south and we didn't have to go early in the morning to leave a towel on a chair. Amenities were nicely maintained. The buffet was great, good food selection. The check in was a bit longer, otherwise it was a great vacation.

The hotel was excellent in layout, upkeep and service. The pool and beach facilities are top notch and well maintained. A couple things that need improvement are the evening entertainment….need more variety and 11pm ending is much too early for an adults only vacation resort….it seems like that is planned so that most will continue over to the Palace. The food was generally good but could have more spice and flavour added but overall was good.

The grounds are beautifully kept .The beach is great and you never have a problem finding a beach chair. The food is good and alacarts are awesome. My only major problem is even though I don’t spend much time in my room other than to sleep the rooms are terrible and need major updating and renovations. My room had wet paint dripping all over. Bathroom Door handles were broken. Patio door had no latch and no lock. Very rough interior.

Great staff except for dinner staff at Brisa, issues fixed same day, quality of buffets are good but Chez Gourmet had the best service/ food.The location was not relaxing either. Power boats zoomed by with screaming drunks and loud music playing on the boats. Right out front of the beach was holding tanks for dolphins and to the right another was a bar for people to drink so it was not very relaxing. Beach had pockets of grass and seaweed, it was shallow out to the buoys which was nice. No shade on beach except for palm trees, should have umbrellas.

Seaweed issues on the beach daily. Staff did its best to clean up. Rooms are dated and not enough towels provided. Not enough shade on the beach. Trees to not provide adequate shade. Cabanas should be installed like other resorts on the beach. Eye sore views of the dolphin cage and the party structure was a turn off. Food was good. Buffet was at times better than the À la cart restaurants. Upgrades are definitely needed to give a better customer experience

The Barcelo is a huge resort, our section the Bavaro beach adults only was perfect for people looking for a relaxing vacation. Small and convenient, everything was a short walk, pool, beach, buffet and bar.The rooms were in three storey bungalows that were clean comfortable a little dated but no issues. The food was tasty and lots of variety in the buffet. If you wanted to eat in the a la carte restaurants, you need to be flexible when you eat as reservations times can be various with availability. The pool, beach and ocean were great, chairs were usually available unless you arrived later. Staff were friendly and accommodating, I would have no problems returning there for another vacation.

Rooms are dated. Not like the photos. Food was sub par or below, service in most restaurants terrible, shows were boring, Sport's bar was good, had an excellent variety of sports on the TV’s, pools were great, awesome beach, golf course in great shape.

Even if the resort was full, it never seemed that there were too much people. There was always a long chair available or room in the pool or on the beach. he beach is really beautiful and there were a lot of sea turtles in the algae. The animation team is funny and does a great job at keeping people busy. The buffet is always detailed and provides a lot of different food. La Brisa and Kyoto were our favorite themed restaurants.

This resort exceeded our expectations. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. Our room was situated on the ground floor of the first building which was perfect as 2 of our party were mobility challenged. We had easy access to the lounge, the gift shop, the bar, the buffet, the pool and the beach. I love how the beach is just a short stroll from the pool. The food was very, very good. How I wish I was back there enjoying a Banana Mama!!

Beach and pools obviously were incredible!!! Thank goodness they upgraded us as I was shocked by the state of the first room they gave us at the Bavaro beach. We are used to a standard room but this was not 5 star!! Also, when we are at the Bavaro beach hotel before the upgrade they said only 4 restaurants were included and all the rest were additional amounts of money! Service depended on time of day and staff restaurant etc. but it wasn’t great. We had to constantly chase people down for glasses cutlery at tables etc. Drinks also depended on who served you but honestly many were watered down and I felt like I was just drinking sugar water at times. Loaded with spring break Americans at the Bavaro palace. We did walk back and forth to the Bavaro beach hotel quite easily though. We felt like the buffet and drinks were better there. Food was the biggest disappointment overall and not at all comparable to the hotel I stayed at in Punta Cana 2020. The restaurants were just okay. Perhaps this is the reality now at resorts? ? Having said all this, we had amazing weather and loved the walks on the beach and the upgraded room!!!

My wife and I have gone to this resort 5 times now. We have noted this year in particular a poor quality of service at the main buffet. We had to wait for tables to be set even though there were few people being served. Busing tables was slow. The quality of the room cleanup was also poor this year. The rooms were poorly maintained with closet doors difficult to open as well as patio doors. No facecloths in bathroom. No pad on ironing board. Did not replenish the coffee etc in the room. I did notice the resort spent money on two buildings with a pool that extended in front of some rooms on two buildings. Given the poor state of things like leaking toilets, faucets that leaked etc. the money may have been better spent on upkeep. We enjoyed out time at this resort but given it's decline I will be looking for another resort. Also of note is some of the staff charged with bringing beer, water etc to the rooms often offer you a bottle of rum for a large tip and bring it in wrapped in a towel. Not quite above board.

My wife and I just got back from Bavaro Beach. A very enjoyable stay, great restaurants, great beach and an excellent golf course. What we liked the most was the breeze off the ocean which made it feel cooler! Helped on the golf course too. Try the French, Japanese and Seafood restaurants…La Comedie, Kyoto and Coral. Plus several others like Santa Fe, Dolce Vita Chez Gourmet. Service was basically good although it took over a week for the drain in our tub to be fixed. And communication was an issue at the Pro Shop as was their clothing inventory. Not much of a selection in terms of sizes. I would have bought stuff but they did not have any XL sizes. We would love to go back.

We had perfect weather, which makes the vacation. The food was very good , cannot complain! Entertainment was awesome! Grounds were clean ! Was nice to see some ducks n ducklings, fish in the pond , turtles. They have mesh so the birds can’t get in to the buffet area, which was nice to see. Some birds were smart enough to get in tho! ? weird set up for the bathroom, (shower n toilet) very tight. Beach had lots of weeds n grass, of course workers were clearing a number of times a day, that was the only downer , but we had a great vacation

Eliana Anton from Trip Central got a good package for us three. Looking to play golf , we had to deal with afternoon reservations but we had a great time. ( not necessarily if we speak about golf performances but it is another story ! )

it is older resort luck of towels rooms are not perfectly clean but ok perfect location to the nice beach very good buffet over all good service moore less what we where expecting had a premium adult resort with nice view to ocean and lovely beach staff very nice specially guest service spoke inglish went out of there way to help especialy mr.Arron Miller realy nice human be who offer us his services when my wife strugle with her medical equipment coud not thank him enough what he done for us thank again Mr.Miller .pool was also very nice.we looking forward to go there again next year

My mother and grandmother were at the resort last week. Resort is very nice food is great. One major complaint was my grandmother fell on a wet floor in the washroom by the pool, broke her arm in 2 places. Doctors said she may have to stay a few extra days before she could fly. Hotel wanted to charge her for the room and the airline also said it would have to charge her to change her flight because of medical reasons (air transat).

We enjoyed our stay at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach. The resort is beautiful, well kept and very clean. We loved that there were tons of areas to sit in and lounge in throughout the resort as well as around the pool and on the beach. The food was fantastic especially the Chez Gourmet restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a few times we needed to call the front desk for things and the response time was very quick. Our only area for improvement would be giving guests more information at check-in. We weren't oriented to the resort, which restaurants we could eat in, how to book the a la cartes, no resort maps, etc., we were really left to figure it out on our own. Guest services did not know how we could find the Air Transat rep, it took us 3 days to try to get the info by finally going next door to Guest Services at The Palace where they were more helpful. None of that is a deal breaker at all, just an area of improvement. We would definitely return.

Clean grounds beautiful beach. Rooms outdated, step in showers toilet beside. Premium level not worth the price, Mayan riviera Barcelo resorts so much nicer but beach not as nice. Lots of smokers and communication is a problem unless you speak spanish

All was great, September is off season time and resort was not full. Second time visiting Barcelo Bavaro Beach resort. Week of September 6 - 13 was 6 days sunshine 1 day rain. Great resort and vacation, no issues. Beach - Barcelo Bavaro has no shade area besides palm tree's, had some seaweed obviously but other resorts were much worse from what I hear. Plenty of activities sports or music, can walk to Palace from Barcelo Bavaro beach in 10 minutes. Hotel room - I was staying in Building 2, 3 storey building has elevator, room is spacious, has a balcony ocean view, comfortable bed with all necessities such as hair dryer, full shampoo/conditioner, coffee machine, fridge. Never had a problem with AC or no hot water. Water was always very hot. Food at the restaurants was plenty, good, many choices, all was fresh no issue. Restaurant MIRAMAR at Barcelo Bavaro Palace extremely slippery floor.

Back from The Beach on Friday. Resort was great overall…beach beautiful, pool luscious, food delicious, service awesome. There should be some/any shade on the beach! As someone with serious mobility issues, the premium service was not worth the extra $$$, as most ala cartes were over at the massive Palace. Would be worth it for the young mobiles. Wondering… The Toronto airport security people totally destroyed my suitcase cover and wrecked my suitcase, by cutting off the zipper tabs. I can only open my suitcase with pliers (which I’m sure aren’t allowed in my carry on), plus cannot be locked. Do I have any recourse for reimbursement of the damages?

Overall the resort was nice, the buffets were kept clean and people seemed to use the utinsils in a good manner. The A Le Cartes were very good except for the mass confusion of who ordered what ( we did have 9 people in our group) water and wine was topped up regularly and the food was presented well and good flavour. The housekeeping needs improvement many times they took the towels away but never gave new ones, and don’t leave your Advil out in the counter or it will disappear. Ran out of hot water for 3 days so cold shower it was. The Palace had lots more to do and better entertainment than the Beach hotel so most evenings were spent over there. All in all it was nice maybe a 3.8

Grounds were great. Room itself had a leaky shower that soaked the bathroom floor. Toilet that ran forever. Never stocked hand towels. It was clean though. Pool was fantastic. Not so many friendly staff.

We had a Wonderful time at Barcelo Beach. Beautiful Beach, loved swimming in the ocean. Our room was very nice, overlooking the ocean and garden. The staff was superb. Grounds were well taken care of. Dining was very good. The buffet was great. The chez gourmet restaurant was really nice inside and the food was delicious. I can't say enough about this resort being a Wonderful place to go to for a nice relaxing vacation.

We've now been to Barcelo Bavaro Beach all adults at least half a dozen times and have noticed there's still some catching up to do since COVID. Some of the rooms are getting tired with A/C problems, very heavy sliding doors to your balcony, no USB charging ports, limited electrical outlets but they are kept very clean. The pool is brilliant with easy access and is not very crowded except the same old problem of people reserving chairs early in the morning and then hustling off to the beach to reserve more chairs. The beach is wonderful with plenty of space so you're not crowded in. The food choices means everyone can find something they like however, the Dominican's for some reason like (or don't realize) near raw potatoes. They often offer roasted in various sauces but the potatoes just aren't cooked as we know it. And french fries? Same thing. Under-cooked, floppy and generally barely warm. There was always fresh cooked fish, roasted chicken, hammy's & dogs, pizza, pasta station, breakfast omelet station, crepe station etc. No-one goes hungry at this resort. Covid is no longer a going concern and only a few servers and cooks wore masks. One problem we had concerned my wife who is handicapped with MS. Although I did notify the resort prior that she could NOT climb into a bathtub fitted shower, we had to wait two days until their very limited (5 rooms out of ~600!) handicapped rooms became available. If you are handicapped and need a sit-in-the-shower, make sure you notify them well in advance. This concerns me and will undoubtedly become more and more an issue as the majority of the WORLD is now over 65. Help me and others if you can by noticing and advising the chains of their impending situation. As I told the manager, a non-handicapped person can use a handicapped room but it doesn't work the other way around. As long as you don't expect this 4-5 star resort to treat you like a seven star, I would and have recommended this resort to many of our friends.

Great place for a relaxing vacation. Very clean, both rooms and property. Nice pool. Beach is very good to walk on, but there was always seaweed washed up on shore. Not a deal-breaker. Plenty of dining options, but you had to reserve well in advance or miss out. Staff was generally excellent. It would be nice if they understood more English as that was an issue a few times. Special shout out to Maria who works mornings and lunch at the buffet. She brought a smile to our faces every day.

The hotel was awesome! All the rooms were very close to the beach, lobby, pools and restaurants. It was very easy to get around the resort and did not require too much time to get anywhere. The train that took us between the Palace and Beach resorts was also helpful, but the walk between the two only took about 10 minutes, which was very manageable. The staff was very engaging and accommodating. There was always entertainment on the beach and activities to participate in. The staff were extremely energetic with all the guests at the resort, and we felt very welcomed. Our room was cleaned daily, and the mini bar was always well stocked. Again, the room location was a highlight. The bathroom having a separate area for the sinks/ mirrors vs where the tub and toilet was nice when getting ready. The beach was beautiful and clean. There was very minimal litter on the sand/in the water, and the chairs were well spaced out throughout the beach area. The water was very clean and you could walk out and swim easily. The food at the buffet was fun as there were themed cuisines each day of the week, so the dinners were changing each day. The a la cart restaurants were okay. The adult only restaurants were better than the other a la carte options. Going back, we would not go to all the a la cartes, but was nice to try them on our first go. We would return to this resort without hesitation!

We just arrived back from our second trip here. We came back as the property is fabulous. The beach is extraordinary. The food is, also. The Adults only Barcelo Bavaro Beach and the next door Bavaro Palace (for families) occupies about four km of beautiful beach. At the end of each property, there are public beaches. In front of these public beaches, many of the excursion boats anchor as they await their clients to take out. Many of them play annoyingly loud and aggressive music that spoils the ambiance. On our last day, one of these vessels anchored right out front of the resort to let their clients snorkel. For 45 minutes we had to listen to the loudest and most disgusting rap music ever. We went back to our room as it was not enjoyable sitting there. We will seek out a more quiet environment for next year.

We enjoyed our vacation. Hotel was only half full and it obviously helped to our positive experience. Food was good, no line ups to omelet station in the morning :) Rooms need updates badly. The worse part for me was that hotel advertises itself like quite place where you can relax ... however in reality their beach boards marina with number of private boats belonging to different tourist companies. Each boat has music playing on the loudest possible settings. So imagine at least 15- 20 boats waiting for tourist and playing 20 different melodies .... In front of the beach ( literally 100 meters off the shore) is a dolphinarium and snorkeling place, where these boats taking tourist still playing music as loud as they could possibly do. It was major to me and really annoying. I came to relax and spent time playing with the ocean and reading my book.

Beautiful, well organized resort with something for everyone. We had an oceanfront room adults only side. Premium level service is worth the extra. The food was a good mix of delicious or simply ok depending on your taste buds.

We just arrived from Barcelo Bavaro Beach adults section where we spend the week of 19 to 26 August . . The resort is beautiful , clean and well maintained . We took the premium package which included oceanfront view from the room ( 4086) and a daily a la carte restaurants either in the resort or in the Barcelo Bavaro Palace with a 20 minutes in the spa for hydrotreatment and the option of having lunch or breakfast in the Palace buffet This extra is very much worth it and you enjoy the huge Palace resort , but i preferred the entertainment and quiet of the adult side a 5 minutes distance with the motor train I was amazingly surprised that resort employees wear masks all the day even when they organize and lead the entertainment sessions . We feel very much safe with the current covid situation I even noticed that they scrub the ladders going to the swimming pool as well as the beds inside the swimming pool daily The only point i can say is the rooms need renovation , but they are clean and comfotable . Your minibar is supplied with beer and soft drinks and as a welcome gift we had a bottle of sparkling wine and a bottle of rum delivered to our room Becaiuse or the sea weeds , the shores were cleaned daily and the sea weeds taken away . In summary, I will definitely return to Barcelo Bavaro Beach

It was our 50th anniversary and we couldn’t be more pleased with our selection of this hotel especially the staff who were very friendly and helpful no matter how small the issues the ambiance cleanliness were all above board we would highly recommend this hotel to everyone thanks for the memories

Resort was very clean, immaculate grounds. Staff were friendly, with great poolside service. Ala cartes were excellent!(other then seafood restaurant which we did not enjoy ) We had a premium oceanview room,which had beautiful view of ocean. Great room service. Resort is very quiet, activities held at the beach area, which we didn't do, but were offered throughout the day.

Super resort. Great food, clean and excellent covid protocols. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are a wee bit dated and could use updating. But clean and taken care of while staying. Pool excellent!

We have been to Punta Cana 5 times and have stayed in a variety of resorts. The week we spent at Barcelo Bavaro Beach was fabulous. It is a large property with lots to do if you wish. The adult only section is a bit quieter and the beach is second to none. The quality of food was great as well as the service. Due to Covid, the resort was still busy but not to the point of having to line up at buffets or fight for beach or pool chairs. They also handled the pandemic to our complete satisfaction. I would highly recommend this property as we will definitely return on our next trip to the Dominican.

Hotel staff are all very nice and welcoming. Hotel grounds, public areas and guestrooms are very well maintained and for the most part COVID protocols are in place around the hotel. Food and service is all very good. This is a large resort with the Bavaro Palace attached. When there are conventions or holidays, this attached hotel is very busy. You have to make restaurant reservations in advance upon arrival but all easily done through guest services. Adults only hotel should not have to pay extra for specialty restaurants and there are only two located at adults only side, one of which you can't seem to get a reservation for. Beach is very nice. If you are looking for a quiet beach, this hotel is not for you. Party boats and fishing boats are located next to the hotel that play very loud music when they leave and return. Helicopter tours fly constantly over the beach. Some days are quieter than others. There is no bar service on the beach which was disappointing for an adults only hotel but the bar is easily accessible with fast and friendly service. There is also no snack bar located near the pool for light snacks throughout the day, not sure if this is due to Covid related protocols or not. In the beach restaurant, Maria is absolutely amazing!! Cannot say enough about the service with a smile that welcomed us daily! She goes above and beyond her role to make your stay a memorable one. We travelled with another couple and the evening entertainment when there was some was very nice and welcomed. Great lobby to hang out in, play games or just chill, with a nice bar and service to your seats. Overall a nice hotel, great weather, a nice beach and good food. Would return again.

The hotel was very clean and followed covid protocols. Masks were worn while entering restaurants and could be removed while seated. Temperatures taken when entering restaurants as well. Buffets we’re all behind glass and food was served to guests by a gloved and masked staff member. The staff was also working a 2 week rotation where they stayed on location to lesson exposure. The resort was only 30 percent capacity so there was no lineups and service was amazing. Clean masks were provided daily in our room. Hand sanitizer was readily available all over the resort. Table were set 2 metres apart even in outdoor settings. Covid testing (pCR) available at the resort for $90US many people we met at the airport had to go to offsite clinics and paid $250 per person. Overall we felt very safe and commend the staff and management at Barcelo Bavero beach and our Agent from trip central for making sure we were prepared before our vacation to download the ArriveCAN app and also the QR code application to enter DR. The only suggestion we would have would be a reminder to clients to download and complete another application for QR code to leave DR to save time at the airport upon return. Loved absolutely everything about this resort - the food, the cleanliness of the resort, but most importantly the people. Best service all around at this resort. This has been our 2nd time to this resort in as many years and we have found our home away from home.

Loved the beach, food ,service and especially the staff... Had a minor issue in our room that was taken care of promptly and even checked with us the next day to make sure all was okay. Had a Surprise Birthday Banner and cake in our room upon arrival that was arranged by a friend in our group.

This was our second time staying at this resort and still great with a few small problems which were looked after right away. The food was still very good with a large selection every day. The grounds were immaculate.

It was exactly if not better than we remembered from our trip in December 2017. This resort has to have the best staff of any that we have visited. The food is great, rooms were fabulous (especially the beds) and drinks plentiful. The staff is outstanding in every area that you visit. The ones in the restaurant are attentive, the activity staff friendly and the bar staff there when you need them. I have never been to a resort where everyone seems to have a smile on their face and want to make your vacation the best ever. The airport transfer is about 15 minutes away...another selling point. Beautiful golf course attached which is challenging to most. Will we go back...… definitely!

This resort is amazing an adults only, 20 mins from airport. The king bedroom was really spacious with a huge California King bed. They had a wicker table and chairs. Fridge was stocked daily with 2 water and pop. Snacks were left in cabinet. The staff kept everything really clean. Our room was 5 min walk to pool and beach. The beach and pool could be seen from our balcony. Lots of food choices even vegan in the buffet restaurant. There were 2 other restaurants on site one by reservation only. Pool was refreshing, there was jacuzzi in the middle and 4 massage showers, lots of seating and a bar at one end. You could walk to the beach from the pool area. Beach was a white powder. Very peaceful for going on walks around resort. Peacocks walked around resort and on the walking paths. Tripcentral was great recommending this resort. We will definitely return again.

Large white sand beach, many different restaurants (Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Sports restaurant, etc.), & activities (mini-golf, golf, bowling, tennis, basketball, water sports, sailing, canoeing, etc.) many pools, water park for kids, many bars, 2 large theaters with great shows every night. Hotel is large with many different buildings so you never feel cramped up with people around, hotel rooms are very nice and beach chairs are always easily available with good shade from many palm trees. In all, a great hotel. We stayed in the adult section but had access everywhere on the family site.

We stayed on the Adult Only side and were extremely satisfied with the room ...excellent view...the staff were friendly and helpful...the walk to the “Shopping Mall” was a pleasant 10 minute stroll(muchly needed after a great lunch) A great choice of restaurants to choose from for our suppers ( seafood,Italian,steaks,Japanese along with numerous buffets) We will definitely be back💝💝💝

The resort lived up to reputation lots of different entertainment choices high service with great staff who go beyond to make your stay enjoyable and stress free .The grounds are well maintained as well as the beach areawell maintained Rooms were clean and saw many get fixed before getting used again. .Food was good nothing special. I am not a big fan of night shows but the wife enjoyed .

We've traveled here twice now and we can honestly say they it was even better than the first time. Food and drinks were great but you can't beat that gentle warm breeze the runs day and night. All the restaurants were unique in their own way. La Brisa on the water front was probably the favorite for lunch and diner. Best burgers ever!!!! Best view ever!!!

I had an excellent stay at Barcelo Bavaro Beach Adults only, the grounds are kept neat, the beach is so relaxing and the atmosphere is great, I am planning on going back to this resort next year as I had a great stay.

This resort has a lot to offer - from a fantastic beach, friendly and helpful staff, dining experiences for most tastes, fun daily activities and shows, shopping, casino and the like to a great golf course. We've been 3 years in a row but have met others who are 10, 12 and 28 year return guests. How many resorts can say that? We will be back!

Everything that you want or need is there!! Good or bad weather, everything has been planned for you to have a great time!! The food is grrrrrreat and always different everyday! You will enjoy long walk on the beach!!

Visited this resort for a week Jan. 27, 2020 to Feb. 03, 2020. Had wife ,my brother and 4 sisters and there spouses party of 12. Great weather 7 days in the 28 deg range. Had 5 great Al a Carte dinners. No complaints as it met all of our expectations. 4.5 to 5 stars. Was nice to stay at a quiet resort but visit the Palace for the entertainment. Alexander in guest services was very helpful in making our trip the best it could be.

The staff was very good...wonderful beach and pool....the food was quite enjoyable and varied...A very nice room. The only con with the resort was that it took two days to get the tv working. Another negative, nothing to do with the resort, but the sun wing rep was worse than useless...we were not impressed with sunwing this trip

This is an excellent resort. The adults only portion of the complex is also a very nice feature. There is lots of walking is required but there is a shuttle available if needed. Nightly entertainment is also very good. Punta Cana beaches are always well maintained.

Had an amazing time. Rooms very nice. Food selection excellent. People at Resort friendly. People we talked to come back to this resort. One couple there 15th time. Many are golfers. Which they said was terrific. We are not but went over for lunch once. Exceptional service and good food. I would highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning!😊 Also, 12 minutes from airport which was wonderful.

Our room was very spacious, clean and the fridge was always stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the curtains were perfect for keeping the light out if you wanted to rest or sleep in. The food was amazing, favorite restaurant was Chez Gourmet. The service always came with a smile. Two bars and lots of great sitting areas. You have the ability to walk to the family resort and casino area or you can relax and take a train. I took train ride several times just to see everything. We met great people who return annually for the golf. I don't play golf yet, but would absolutely return to this resort. I felt so safe here at all times. I came for my birthday and they left me a beautiful note, cake and bottle of rum on my birthday in my room. Loved that extra touch! Thank you Rachel Guindon for setting this trip up and making this an amazing experience! Your advice and recommendations were perfect!

The grounds are very nice, however the buildings and rooms are tired. The room we had was sub par until we were moved after some complaining. The toilet ran and had sewer smell and annoying flies from the drains. The food is very good and wait staff exceptional.

Love this adult only hotel very relaxing , no night life just the way i wanted it if we wanted more night life we just had to walks minute to the Palace were theres lots more life snack bars casino kids are welcome the food is verry good and rooms were cleaned everyday new sheets ... staff dont understand much english so we downloaded the translate app wich was fine afterwards .. beach is beatiful ...

This was our second time at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort and we intend to return again. The hotel is clean and well maintained. The food is fabulous at all the restaurants especially the specialized ones like the Japanese, Italian, and the Chez. Staff are friendly and very accomadating, especially the "Premier" staff. Love that we can enjoy the adults only section and visit the family section for other activities. Room was located directly on beach with an exceptional view and close to the pool. It was perfect for us and what we requested. It was an amazing location. Rooms are clean and comfortable. We will return.

The hotel is quite large. There are two parts, the beach and the palace. If you stay at the beach (adults only) you are allowed to use the amenities on the Palace side. We stayed the whole time on the Palace side (pool) as it has a swim up bar. Didnt really notice a lot of kids when we were there. The Beach on the adults only side is better. Unfortunately, my husband got sick off their food and we wasted a day inside the room - when we confronted the hotel all they said was its impossible that my husband got food poisoning because there isn't other people who complained. The lobster that was served to him had a foul smell, its unbearable. This ruined our honeymoon. After the food poisoning everything went downhill from there, from the service and cleanliness of the room that we were so happy to get to the airport and finally eat some real food and get back to Canada. some staff are rude, especially when you don't speak Spanish. Had a really bad service at Santa Fe Steakhouse and Coral Seafood. If you visit La Brisa, make sure to ask for Esther! She’s the best! At the Palace swim up bar Odalio and Norberto are the best bartenders there! Always smiling even if you havent given them a tip!

We went to Barcelo Bavaro Beach as a couple and it couldn’t have been more perfect. I hadn’t been to an all inclusive before and my partner had only been one other time. The resort was the perfect size for us. Staff were super friendly and our room was very clean upon arrival. We stayed in building two which is in very close distance to the beach, pool, and entertainment areas. We ate at the gourmet restaurant once but otherwise stuck to the buffets, where the food selection was fantastic. The beach was well maintained, we bought goggles from the gift shop, were told we wouldn’t see much sea life right off the beach, but we saw plenty of fish and a smaller sea turtle ! We headed over to the palace a few times to eat at the sports bar, but also went over a different night to check out the casino and the disco, which to be honest we weren’t impressed with. Mainly stuck to our resort as it’s adults only and the palace seemed a little more chaotic with the amount of children. Forms of entertainment were provided every night and through out the day. One day we did a catamaran excursion which we would absolutely do again, another day we did dune buggies and zip lining, which we probably would not do again as we came there for the beach and ocean and found ourselves missing the resort. This resort is perfect for anyone wanting to get away and relax without kids, maybe do a little partying. Didn’t really seem like the type of place that younger people would go to if you wanted to really party, but we were there in November so it was more of a quieter time. Bottom line: Beach and pool are beautiful, drinks are strong, food is great and our room was clean, what more can you ask for!?

Barcelo Bavaro Beach is an adult only hotel part from the Barcelo Bavaro Palace .It has all the options and you can enjoy both hotels and their amenities .The grounds are beautifully maintained, service and staff very friendly, beautiful beach shallow water ideal for swimming.Our experience for the 5 time beautiful as usual.

This resort is nice, however not exactly new. The rooms are nice and are clean, but a little dated. The adults only side is very quiet and relaxing. The pools are very nice and the food is pretty good as well. The resort staff are friendly and very accommodating. We asked for a nice room and they delivered with a beautiful view of the ocean at no additional cost. Overall I feel it is a very good value resort. Plenty of restaurant choices. Beautiful beach. Very well kept resort. Friendly and helpful staff. The entertainment was very impressive at the Palace theater. The Michael Jackson show was amazing! Great bang for your buck. We enjoyed staying at the adults only with the option to use the entire resort. There is deffinately more action on the Palace side, however the peace and tranquility on the adults only side is amazing! I would definately recommend this resort.

From the airport pickup, speedy check-in and wonderful welcome service to the room, restaurants, beach, activities and staff...this was a well-rounded WOW resort. Made my stay worthwhile and fun. I loved it!

The staff were excellent, sweet kind and great sense of humour. The resort was clean and pretty as was the gorgeous beach and ocean. Food was fair. What was disappointing was my first class room! While the view was stunning, the luxurious king size bed I was to have was a double! The first class bathroom needed serious work..there was a lot of grout missing between the tiles and what ever was holding the glass door was loose at the ceiling!! The clock was broken(eventually replaced) tv🤨and I was horrified to find black mold in my room service menu!!!

First off the weather was fabulous, the beach and ocean..stunning. My first class room was very disappointing! I was supposed to have a luxurious king size bed...it was a double🙁! My first class bathroom...a lot of grout missing from between the tiles...gross! as well as whatever was holding up the glass door was loose from the ceiling! Just back from 10 day stay at this hotel and we wish we were still there! We were surprised at the size of our room and enjoyed the facilities offered. The food was excellent, offered a wide variety and everything was fresh. There were plenty of chairs both around the pool and on the beach which was very close to all rooms. The staff were courteous and security was present at all times. The only thing we were disappointed with was the fact that the hotel did not offer free wifi on the adults-only complex. Wifi was available only in the casino at the Barcelo Grand Palace. We would definitely return to this hotel.

The grounds were very well kept and we enjoyed a beautiful view of the ocean from our room and balcony. The beach offered lots of shade or sun depending on what you were looking for. I appreciated that it was a quieter resort (being an adult only) and if we wanted a more lively environment, we were minutes from the sister resort - Barcelo Palace which offered great evening entertainment. I loved the open air concept at the resort and enjoyed the constant breeze from the ocean, which made it so comfortable to be outside - even though it was 29 degrees each day! The only complaint, is that the rooms were somewhat dated - they need a face-lift (particularly the bathroom shower/toilet area)

We love everything about this resort. Food is great, staff is friendly, rooms are clean, beach is stunning...and I could go on and on. We've been to countless others, but have decided that this is the only one we will return to again and again.

This resort was great. Most impressed by the spacious beach and plentiful chairs. The pool area was crowded, and all lounge chairs occupied. Buffet provided choice of foods, only one a la carte which we did not try.

My wife and I stayed at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach ( Adult Only ) Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican during the week of March 18th, 2019 and we absolutely loved everything about it. The weather was perfect ( 29 degrees and sunny every day ) and the resort even more perfect. We have been to many resorts in Cuba and Mexico over many years and this was our first time to the Dominican and we have declared this resort our 2nd home away from home. We have been trying to find that resort that was so perfect, that we would want to continue to go back to and we have finally found it. We knew it from the moment we arrived. The warmth and friendliness of the entire staff was so welcoming. Everything about this resort exceeded our expectations from the super friendly staff ( which by the way, the amount of staff blew us away.) There were more than plenty of staff there to serve and assist and there was never a line up at the bars, or the lunch buffets etc. The food was absolutely amazing and I found it better than the Mexican Resorts that we had been to in the past. There were plenty of choices of restaurants to choose from and we thoroughly enjoyed every restaurant we ate at. This resort has the best of both worlds. It is 2 resorts in 1. The Adult Only Beach Resort is part of the Barcelo Palace Resort which is a much bigger resort and caters to families for the most part. We stayed on the Adult Only Beach Resort which is a much smaller size resort that has the nice small size resort feel that my wife and I enjoy and the rooms are all right there on the beach and we have our own pool, pool side bar, and several restaurants and buffet. But, we had access as well to all the Palace side of the resort has to offer as well such as their casino, bowling alley and arcade, restaurants, upscale shopping mall, water park that includes water slides and a wave pool, mini golf and one of the other deciding factors as to why we chose this resort was they have their own golf course on the resort as well and we were able to get a few rounds in during our stay. Such a nice enjoyable relaxing vacation. We will be back next year, and the next year and the.........

The property is beautiful. Gorgeous beach, very well maintained grounds that cover a vast area. Great for walking, jogging etc. Lots of activities, such as tennis, paddle ball, golf, water sports, etc, are available. There are many different restaurants and two buffets, with a wide variety of food options. The food is excellent, for the most part. Staff are friendly and accommodating, except for a few select customer service reps who were a bit abrupt. We have vacationed at this resort 8 times, because we love the property and the food is very good.

Great resort! From the time we checked in when they accomodated our request that our daughter's room be close to ours. Great food and terrific service especially at La Brisa restaurant where Labrida and Juan Kelly were amazing! Of course there always could be improvements such as; - perhaps a snack bar, grill or something similar between restaurant openings. - Hoyo 19 restaurant service, food and dining hours took a significant down turn from our last visit 2 years ago. We were unpleasantly surprised to see the golf cart rentals more than doubled from 2 years ago ($35 to $75). If this Barcelo wants to remain our top destination choice then it has to stop these negative changes. Sincerely Mario

The grounds on this resort are outstanding....the beach is absolutely beautiful!.....staff are very friendly and helpful....food selection is varied...sure to find something for every pallet.....For those wanting more activities or night life....the Bávaro Palace provides that just a short walk away.....Bávaro Beach provides a quiet relaxed environment for adults wanting to just get away and chill out.
