Great Resort
We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The grounds were always clean and well maintained, and the rooms were spotless and comfortable. The minibar was consistently restocked, with extra bottled water provided daily. We also appreciated the ice machines conveniently located throughout the resort. The food was very good, and the service was outstanding. We were especially impressed by the quality of service from the staff, who were friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. The beach was cleaned daily, towels were always available, and most of the à la carte restaurants were excellent. The Spanish and Italian restaurants were my favorites, and the Japanese restaurant was also very good. One thing to note is that the portion sizes at the restaurants were extremely large. While the food was delicious, many dishes were much bigger than necessary, which resulted in a lot of food being left uneaten and potentially wasted. Areas for Improvement: Argentinian Restaurant: The service was extremely slow. We waited about an hour for our food, and we had to ask for bread and butter while waiting. Boats Near the Beach: There are too many boats traveling back and forth close to the shoreline. They pass frequently, sometimes every few minutes, and the smell of fuel can be noticeable and unpleasant. It would greatly improve the beach experience if the number of boats were reduced or if they operated farther from shore. Overall, this is a fantastic resort with excellent service, great food, and beautiful, well-maintained facilities. I would definitely recommend it and would gladly return.

Nice resort
The grounds were beautiful, the beach was absolutely gorgeous The rooms are a little dated and need some work. We couldn’t control the AC and water leaked around the tub/shower unit which was very difficult to get into The buffet was about on par with all other buffets , food was never hot enough

Great Family Vacation
This was my fourth stay at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana, both with and without children, and I’ve consistently had great experiences on both adults-only and family vacations. This was our second visit with our children (ages 11 and 13), and both times we stayed in the Junior Suite Swim-Up Beachside. We love being able to relax at our room, swim directly from the suite, or easily access nearby pools. The building is also extremely close to the beach—it’s less than a 30-second walk. The staff were friendly, and most spoke English, which made communication easy. The resort is well maintained, and our room was clean. There are many pools and restaurants throughout the property, most of which are conveniently located. We’ve stayed at similarly sized resorts with larger footprints, where getting around was more difficult. While this resort offers trolleys and golf carts, everything we needed in our area was within easy walking distance, even for kids. The resort is divided into four areas: Punta Cana, Palace, Bávaro, and Royal Suites. Royal Suites is adults-only, and guests there can access all areas. The Bávaro section has recently been renovated and is now restricted to Bávaro guests only. While this limited access compared to previous visits, it wasn’t an issue, as the Punta Cana and Palace areas had everything we needed. There is no limit on à la carte restaurant visits, though securing preferred times can be challenging for larger groups. Walk-ins are possible, but we successfully booked through the Palladium app. Our group of 13 was able to secure three à la carte reservations at our preferred times by booking simultaneously, since the app only allows reservations for guests within the same room. The resort offers high-speed Wi Fi throughout most of the property, including much of the beach. This made it easy to stay connected and locate family members when spread out. The grounds are beautifully manicured, and I don’t recall seeing any flies or bugs during our stay. Staff were constantly maintaining the landscaping from morning until evening. The resort also has several gift shops and a pharmacy. We enjoyed the mini golf course and basketball court. There’s also a soccer pitch, tennis and pickleball courts. One evening, we even saw people playing pickleball under the lights around 9 p.m. Since our last visit in 2022, the resort has eliminated room keys and towel cards. Bracelets now unlock rooms and are scanned at buffets and à la carte restaurants, making everything more convenient. We didn’t experience much of the nightlife, as we usually called it a night around 9 p.m. After long days in the sun with kids, we often ended the evening with a quiet swim in our shared swim-up pool. We requested adjacent rooms for our family, which was accommodated, allowing us to share the same pool with minimal outside traffic. Despite the resort being busy, our pool area remained very quiet throughout our seven-night stay. We did notice that many guests reserved pool and beach chairs early in the morning with towels, often leaving them unused for hours. While frustrating, this was a guest behavior issue rather than a resort problem. Food quality was excellent across the resort, with plenty of options for everyone, and no one in our group became ill. Despite some online complaints about food quality, we had no such issues. While there may be higher-end resorts available, the Grand Palladium checks all the boxes for us at a reasonable price. Having stayed at all-inclusive resorts in Cuba, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, and across various brands, the Palladium Group remains our preferred choice. We flew direct with Sunwing, operated by WestJet. WestJet’s Starlink Wi Fi was a great feature and worked well throughout the flight. Although there were no power outlets on the outbound flight, we were prepared with power banks. The return flight offered USB C outlets and slightly more legroom. We used the included airport transfers for this trip, though we’ve opted for private transfers in the past. In hindsight, a private transfer would have been preferable. Arrival was quick with a dedicated shuttle, but the return transfer involved multiple stops and took over an hour, compared to the usual 25 minute drive.

Pick another resort until Fully Renovated !
Currently here for 7 nights. Booked through trip central/Air canada vacations. Flight portion of the trip was smooth. Definitely spend your money elsewhere for a resort. We came 10 years ago but this place is now showing its age. AC struggles to keep room temp below 23.8 C. Outlets falling out of walls- it definitely needs a facelift. If you have any gymnastics abilities you will do great navigating the step up into the deep tub/ shower combo. I can’t believe some people haven't fallen getting out of this contraption. If your traveling with someone other than your significant other and book a loft suite the glass in between the main bed and shower is frosted- think 80’s silhouette…def not suitable. 90% of the restaurants are closed- something not noted on the booking website or I would have chosen another resort. Bavaro section is closed due to renovations so you have 1 main restaurant for breakfast/Lunch/Dinner with another buffet restaurant opened for lunch. Only place that is air conditioned is Hemmingway Bar- burger truck parked beside it. Made 5 trips to the front desk to get the ac looked at- its standard was the response after 3 technicians came to look at it ..asked to switch rooms and it seemed like that was a big inconvenience. Sorry Pladium…. Your 5 star has lost its rating at the moment. On the plus side- wait staff is amazing, pool bar staff always have whatever you require- pool is clean- lots of loungers at this time period….Rock show in lobby on Thursday nite is very good- other than that minimal activities. Pushy travel club salespeople in the lobby, around the pool trying to get you to a timeshare presentation. I think if you are very good at saying no you will have no problem. But every time they see you at the lobby they have to try. Highlight of the trip is the coffee bar..frap’s, fruit jars, donuts, hot or iced coffee- def one of the best things here. After numerous trips to the front desk the Concierge/Guest Services/Victor and the whole team gave us another room with much better cooling capabilities. Even this room is showing its age with the jetted tub rings all fallen off and placed at the side of the tub, Caulking around tub should be replaced. I thnk that they should use their Cleaning team to note the rooms that need repair and small issues that could be easily fixed instead of just cleaning. They are really the first point of contact with the rooms and documentation could go a long way with fixing Guest issues. The Bavaro side is planning to open In December and the rooms do look amazing although they will be at a premium. If you are looking for pools, food, drink and don't mind the overall conditions of the room then come down. The staff at the restaurants and La UVa are more than phenomenal. My issues stem from the conditions of the rooms only but we really didn't spend much time in them. I understand the contraints and pressures the guest services team are under as they know the rooms are tired and I have no doubt they will try and accomodate and make it right. Grounds are immaculate as expected and they do their best to combat the seaweed influx. Although the customer service team is amazing I do think we will try another resort on our next visit to the island. Until the whole resort does a refresh find another place to book. I am not one to usually write reviews but extremely disappointed in this resort.

Decent Resort
The hotel was large and spacious, lots of activities although they are scattered across the hotels. Would of been better if there was privacy in rooms and also if places were finished renovated, like the sports bar and restaurants. The beach was nice, but had lots of seaweed, plus the travel club presentation tool forever, and we wasted time.

Not a bad resort ...
Resort was too big for our liking.. first day curtain rod fell on my forehead and nobody fixed it the entire time we were there .... if you want peace stay away from the guys in greenish / turquoise shirts... they lie saying you are all family free spa , free massage etc, but they are on a mission to sell timeshare..... Also for future will never deal with Natasha Spencer..she was horrible to deal with ... so many issues and not a care to respond to emails on a timely manner, sometimes rude and her excuse was have been doing this for a long time.. professionalism goes a long way.. Will never use trip central agents like her again ... same as customer service was rude

Such a nice relaxing vacation!
My husband and I had such a great time at the Grand Palladium Palace, part of three hotels of grand palladium. Therefore lots of walking around, got lots of steps in but towards the end we used the trains a couple times. I do find I prefer a smaller, more quaint resort where you don't have to walk 20 minutes to a restaurant in heels, we found we had to walk to the Bavaro one quite a bit. Anyway the a la cartes are nothing to write home about, the buffets were pretty decent. Room was great, bed was comfy, no issues with the AC. Tried room service once, didn't find it anything special. But what you go for is the Ocean and it was amazing and a beautiful turquoise color, very inviting, we were in there a lot! Never stepped into any of the pools though, sometimes a few loud kids and loud music, much preferred the quiet beach area. Always lots of beach chairs available.

Palladium 2024
Overall, we enjoyed our week at the resort. The room was excellent except for the design of the shower/bathtub. The bath was difficult to enter/exit and the shower tended to leak all over the floor unless you were extremely careful. The service at pools and restaurants was very good too. Food quality was OK but sometimes not very hot a buffets. We tried unsuccessfully to obtain VIP bracelets which we had enjoyed during our previous visits in 2019 and 2020. Desk staff couldn’t find our compete history with the resort and (supposedly) emailed their administration to obtain missing details. VIP status would have given us access to at least one restaurant that we had used before. All of this has been communicated in a survey requested by Palladium.

Terrific Hotel, Beautiful Grounds, Beautiful Beach
Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff, clean rooms, beautiful beach, excellent food. Would definitely return for another holiday and recommend this property to others. A la carts were all very good. Only issue is the jetted tub/shower combination in the Deluxe, King Room can be a little tricky to get in and out of for anyone with mobility issues.

Lovely Resort
This is a resort that has three hotels. We stayed at the Palladium Palace. There are shuttles that can take you to other hotels and that was so convenient. The rooms are very nice and clean. The food at the buffets was very good. The grounds are very well kept and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We had one power outage which lasted about an hour. The Italian a la carte and the Steakhouse were both very good. All in all, a very great vacation and I would recommend it.

So much to do!
When I first decided to go on an all-inclusive trip, I was expecting my week to consist of sitting by the pool/beach and reading. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was so much more to do, including games by the pool, exercise and dance classes, live shows, water sports, and a plethora of different places to eat. I was stuffed to the max after every meal, I was laughing, cheering, and crying at every show, I was learning to dance merengue and playing water volleyball. I was also never short of someone to talk to as the resort employees were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I feel as though my family and I have made many new friends since our arrival to the resort. Also, if you are thinking of taking the Scuba Diving Course, I highly recommend you ask for Carlos to be your instructor.

Great Experience
We had a great time despite the off and on rain, which didn’t really last long. It was also incredibly windy for a few days. The beach was fantastic for long walks. The food was good for the most part. There are lots of choices, with dishes from many parts of the world. The rooms were very nice. They were very clean and maid service was good. The only complaint would be that the Travel Club (time share) people would hound us to go for their Free breakfast. We never did, but spoke with lots who did get caught up in it and it takes 3hrs away from your holiday. I highly recommend the CHIC Show. I would recommend this hotel and I would come back again in the future.

I wish they had queen beds and not doubles. When you have 3 in a room one sleeps on a pullout which is not very comfortable. Not that many people in the resort understand english. When you need something repaired you have to push them to get it done.

Great Vacation
This is a great resort. We travelled mid November. Our room 9209 was at the beach, close to the pool, the Secret Pool and the Lobby. These are family resorts but the Palace section was very quiet with very few children as the kids clubs are in the other sections. The Secret Pool is adults only. We had access to the Bavaro and Punta Cana sections which are larger. There were little trains or carts to take you anywhere on the resorts if you didn’t feel like walking. There were live maps at the lobby entrance that displayed where the trains were on the resort and how long your pickup would be so you could decide if you wanted to wait or walk. The food was great - lots of choice at the buffets and a la carte restaurants. I wasn’t impressed with the Spanish restaurant but I think it was because we didn’t understand the menu and didn’t order enough dishes, but what we ordered was very good. To be honest, we didn’t need anymore food as there is so much food everywhere! We were very pleased with the Steak House, Japanese, Indian, Italian, and Argentinian. There is a lovely little coffee area in the lobby with a wonderful assortment of cheesecakes and treats available all day. We had no trouble getting shady chairs any time of day at the pools or the beach. The beach was beautiful with no seaweed. The resort was spotless and the grounds beautiful. The staff were excellent! Always asking if we needed anything. The service was great!

Overall okay resort but nothing outstanding
The resort overall is pretty nice. Rooms are spacious enough and clean. Toiletries that are provided are of good quality. When we arrived to the room, a few lights were not working but quick service provided to get that fixed right away. Shower facility i would imagine would be difficult for anyone that is really short or has a hard time lifting legs such as someone in a wheelchair. One thing to keep in mind is if you are traveling with someone that is not a significant other, it can get awkward due to the fact that the wall separating from the bathroom and the actual room is frosted glass and if you are in the shower and someone else wants to use the washroom, there is no curtain. The wall is half length to the tub and 100% clear. Not enough closet space/drawers provided. The drawers also do not close properly. Mini fridge restocked daily so all good there. They gave us a bottle of liquor and fruit on arrival so for special occasions they may do this sort of thing for you. No elevators in the resort but the buildings are only 3 floors high so not a huge deal. Regarding food we usually stuck to the buffet for most meals. Pretty repetitive but it was pretty okay. Nothing too over the top but you get enough variety. Beef i find is tough no matter which restaurant you go to. The pizza they cooked i find is never cooked through, dough was soft and the whole thing was always falling apart. Drinks were pretty good and some bars had more variety options than others. Entertainment animation team were good. Indiana and Chocolate were the main two animation girls that really made a difference and kept things fun. Others did not get as much involved with people. Reception was super friendly they knew who i was right away when i checked in before they saw any documents from me which was shocking. There were a few staff in the restaurants in the El Dorado a la carte that did not speak English and did not communicate with us exactly how the process works. In the Palace section i find they did a pretty good job with fumigation of mosquito's but as soon as i walked over to Bavaro section i was eaten alive. Entertainment at night was okay, the typical shows that you would normally see such as Michael Jackson show, tropical show, 80's theme singing show etc. The beach at the moment was good. On our first few days super wavy water but through the week became much calmer. On the Palace section a decent amount of area to walk on the beach, if you go towards TRS to the right it is much narrower. Going to the left to Punta Cana or Bavaro section it is pretty good too for walking and distance. Tides were pretty high though regardless and chairs had to be pulled back. Too many palapas and too much shade.

Excellent 7 days
This was our third stay at the Grand Palladium palace resort spa and casino. My wife and I were extremely satisfied with all aspects of the resort. The renovated junior suite we stayed in was very clean everything worked well and the bed was very comfortable. Our suite was approx. a one minute walk to the beach(that's about the same time for all suites ),The beach is clean and tidy with ample places to get a nice refreshing drink. We found the beach nice and quiet which is what we look forward to, There are vendors walking the beach trying to get you to buy things, We found that if you didn't look at them they would continue walking on. The ala carte dining was nice however, if you wish to go to the steak house we suggest you arrive shortly after it opens for dinner or you will have to wait a considerable length of time. The buffets were good .A nice selection ,Any person who is( for lack of a better term) a picky eater should have no problem. Customer service we received was excellent,.in fact we spoke to other visitors who felt the same way. Front line staff were professional, knowledgeable, friendly and always very pleasant to deal with . Looking forward to going back next year to the Grand Palladium Palace Resort spa and casino

Amazing staff
Although we had a great time at this resort, it isn't one that I would go back to and cannot really give a reason why, spoiled I guess! The beach is great (mind you there is a lot of seaweed that is picked up daily, but they cannot keep on top of it), the pools fabulous (amazing bar staff....best we have ever had!) and the food was consistent good (not great). The rooms were large and well laid out, however if you have any mobility issues, the tub is extremely hazardous to get in. They have a wooden step to assist you getting into the tub, but it is very deep (which is great if you want to jacuzzi it!). They have provided a grab bar, but I was always very careful getting in and out of it. The tub is surrounded by about a 4 inch strip of marble, which the shower cannot help but spray on. The opaque glass to the living area, may be opened, however, that has left a way for the water to run onto the floor in the living area. Easily fixed by putting a towel on the floor, however if you don't know it does that, it could cause a slip and slide moment. My husband likes more than one pillow and the jacuzzi would not turn on, so I went to the public relations desk to see if these could be fixed. They must have been done within a couple of hours and it was great to get a call to confirm that everything was now to our liking. This is a huge resort, however there are trains that go every 20 minutes, or you can hail one of the many shuttles that are around. The sports bar was on the complete other side of the resort and we went there a couple of times. We never waited more than 5 minutes for transportation. We went to 2 of the A la Cartes. The food was fine, as I said not great, and the portions were small. They have multitudes of different kinds of liqueur, so you can basically get what ever you want and the bartenders are more than pleased to mix it. Ask for each ones specialty.....they have some pretty good ones. I have read numerous comments on the lack of English. Don't believe it. We never ran into one staff that was unable to understand us. Great vacation.

Amazing resort, could be way better managed
The resort is amazing - well maintained spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, wide and probably 500 m long very nice sandy beach. The staff cleaned the beach from seaweeds daily and it was a pleasure relaxing or walking on the beach. Pools were nice and clean, all beach and pool bars offered a good variety of drinks and cocktails. Bar tenders were always happy to help and served customers with a big smile. Now about the things, which could be easily improved by better managing the resort: Our main complaint was the quality and variety of food in the buffets and restaurants. We already have grounds for comparison with other 4 and 5 stars resorts in the Punta Cana area and we never had similar experience there. The variety of food at lunch and dinner was almost non existent. There is always something to fill up, but we never experienced a pleasure or real enjoyment of the culinary. Food presentation in the buffets was non existent. I would suggest managers to sneak pick how this could be done in a near-by Iberostar or Grand Bahia resorts. Better yet - go to Riviera Maya to get some ideas how to make a really good food presentation without extra spending. The food preparation was not done well not only in the buffets, but also in the numerous restaurants, We visited Indian restaurant and only one of the purchased meals had a flavor of India. The Argentinian was not bad, we enjoyed the food in the Mexican, however the Asian was a disaster. With very few tables and a lot of waiters, we had to wait for 40 minutes to be served the entries and a soup, which were already listed in the menu. Some other visitors, who came at the same time with us, simply left the restaurant after waiting for over 30 minutes. I had to call for the manager to express my opinion on the level of service, after which we were promptly served the food. I can talk a lot about the big disappointment we experienced every time we tried a new food or place. Even the Japanese tepanyaki experience was not in pair with similar restaurants in other resorts. The second big disappointment was the entertainment. In other places the entertainment team keeps guests busy and happy with different activities , games, dance lessons, competitions etc. This time our stay was more like in a retirement home. The only activity was the aqua fitness for 30 minutes a day. That's was it! During the rest of the day so called entertainment team relaxed on the beach and around the pool, since no one was pushing them to do their job. Looks like they were on vacation, not the guests of the resort - This happened at the Grand Palladium Palace hotel, could be different in other resort hotels. The third disappointment was almost missing Christmas decoration at the hotel grounds, lobby and everywhere. Other resorts were glowing in Christmas lights, but almost none in Grand Palladium. For the last 10 years we took a vacation during the first week of December and the Christmas spirit was very high at all resorts we visited. That's why it was shocking to see a total opposite at Grand Palladium Palace. Overall our experience was not very positive and we will never return or recommend this resort to our friends.

A nice resort but:
We are retired pensioners and found the shower very hard ( and dangerous ) to get in and out of as it is located in the Jacuzzi and it was also very slippery. The food was o.k. The staff were excellent and most speak passable English although we were constantly pestered by some staff trying to sell massages, parasailing, etc. Staff were very attentive and bar service was excellent. I would not recommend this place for older people because of the showers.

All-in-all our vacation was amazing. (: The resort and it's staff are beyond our expectations and we'll definitely be going back again! Lisa was very helpful when it came time for us to confirm and book our vacation. The only thing that I would suggest is that if you've been to a resort before and have a request for the resort itself (example: requested room/villa) call the resort directly to confirm the request has been received. Our request for a specific villa was not received by the hotel and was not listed on any of our paperwork- so we got upgraded to VIP as our requested villa was not available. Clara (palace pool bar tender) is amazing and Jose Torres (our butler at TRS) was fantastic! They both went above and beyond for us! Even surprising us with a few special treats for my boyfriends birthday! (:

Worst Resort Ever!
Very bad service Loud, disruptive, not relaxing environment as a lot of renovations and construction is happening. Couldn't take nap with toddlers as they were fixing the roof of my room First night the tub leaked on our new, unworn clothing in the bedroom floor Toddlers were extremely thirsty when we picked them up from the mini club One of our toddlers fell off a 7" deep curb while playing and hurt himself Got scheduled for a 'Travel Club' breakfast, waited until 9am with toddlers (who is awake usually at 7am) only to be turned away from the breakfast Had to ask for bottled water refills every day, one day we were told we had to wait until the cleaner arrives which was 4 hours later Got told we couldn't take food out of the buffet to our room as we had a sick child who couldn't come to dinner therefore went to bed unfed Japanese reservation was made on the wrong night The hostess and servers at the El a Cartes were sooo rude. I asked one lady what is the average wait time (at the Oriental restaurant) and she said she cannot rush people to eat. Like really? Did I ask you this?? I just needed a range of wait time as I have two little kids who have a hard bed time!! The buffet chefs were so miserable I feel like we were bothering them when we asked for grilled meat The list goes on and on... Worst place to go with two 3 year old toddlers.

The only bad part to the place is the constant sales pitch for joining"the travel club". After a few days we figured out how to get around to without running into them. They were having a big celebration for Travel Club members when we were there and it was annoying as they kept closing off sections to the rest of us for their private affairs. I don't think I would like to be there during their next celebration but I would definitely like to go back. They have several new restaurants from when we were there last year. The casino is gone now but I never used it anyway.

Great time!
Very well maintained .... staff great... nice pools and good food and beautiful beach. The only real negative are the time share people and the vendors ... theyre relentless. Same with the excursion guys too. Definately need to tip well to get good service too.

Had a wonderful holiday!
Our bed was the most comfortable that we have ever had on a holiday and the room was clean and spacious. We loved being close enough to the beach to walk their easily. The resort was very clean and easy to access the many bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. Thanks so much!

Friendly staff and very clean
The grounds are in immaculate condition. The rooms are spotless they are so clean. I wouldn't call them an "upgraded room though" there were some holes in the ceiling and one nite a vent fell from the air conditioning unit. Some of the marble around the outside wall of the tub enclosure was damaged. The food in the buffet area wasn't always hot. I would recommend a guide on the tv converters in the rooms.

Grand Palladium Palace- wonderful hotel
The hotel is beautiful. The grounds keepers maintained everything exceptioning well. Very pretty to the eye! Bavaria beach is awesome. We walked on the beach for miles. The sand is fine and white. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The Dominicans were very accommodating and friendly. They all aimed to please. This was our fourth time to this same resort and was not disappointed!

Hard to get service
Language barrier was a huge issue throughout the whole stay. Went for a friends wedding. There wasn't enough chairs at the reception. At the restaurant after the wedding there wasn't enough chairs as well. Very hard to communicate due to very little English of the staff to get anything fixed. It was hard to get a coffee in the morning at breakfast. When the rooms were cleaned it really varied for what they restocked you with. One day they refilled the facecloths, the next they would replace the bath towels, but they would take away all of the dirty linen so you would be left without face towels until whenever they decided to put them in your room next. Knowing French will help you at this location as you get further with French then with English.

Good resort
Its a good resort - the beaches are great and pools are nice and clean. Its a big resort so one has to take golf carts to move around in the resort. The service for the golf cars is good. The room service is also very good. We had no issues. However, the food is not so good. We had good food in only 2 restaurants. Others were poor; some very poor. We did not try the steakhouse which had some good reviews.

Disappointing!!
For starters, this was our 4Th time at this resort - I was very disappointed to learn that two of the top restaurants (Brazilian & Japanese) were under construction - With that being said, this is a stay at one and play at three resort, however both the Punta Cana and Bavaro lobbies were closed and under construction as well... There was a lot of construction throughout the resort from beach work to grounds work - Our room was on the ground floor facing the beach - The second day a crew started digging a trench right outside of our room and this went on the entire stay so needless to say there was not much privacy or enjoyment sitting outside on the little room patio.. Restaurants - The first come, first serve was very frustrating with the above two restaurants being closed - The Royal Turquesa guests have the privilege to make reservations in advance - This made for extremely long waiting times for those staying at any of the other three properties. I had asked our travel agency (Trip Central) about any resort construction, damage, etc due to the recent hurricane or other and were told all was fine - I am disappointed with TC for not being more informed and letting us know of the resort conditions...I have been booking trips through TC for many years and now a little skeptical moving forward..

Fantastic Trip
Before I start my review, I want to thank Diane Wick at Tripcentral. With her help, our trip was amazing with only one small hiccup (see below under rooms) but overall it was a great vacation. As for the resort, it was gorgeous. The grounds are beautiful and carefully tended to by the Staff. I like the layout of the Resort in general although I would like to see more sidewalks as pedestrians and vehicles have to share the road at times. Don't get me wrong, the drivers are accustomed to this and do move aside. It's just a bit uncomfortable. We enjoyed the sports area but wished very much for some overhead shade for the chess and ping pong tables. We really liked the signs naming the vegetation. Stay off the grass to avoid being hit by falling coconuts which you will see on the ground from time to time. The rooms are modern and always very clean. I love how the USB ports are built into the outlets (makes phone/tablet charging so easy!). I also really liked the free minibar (restocked daily with 4 flavours of pop/soda, 2 large bottles of water and sometimes a small bag of peanuts). The sole hiccup during the trip was with the room. Despite emailing prior to our trip to request a room with two beds my daughter and me, we ended-up with a room with only one bed. Since they apparently had no rooms available in our category with two beds, we had to pay to upgrade to a loft style room which, in the end, was even better since it gave us both a little space to relax and maybe have a siesta. As for the food, of the 17 restaurants on site, my daughter only ever wanted to eat at the buffet nearest the Palace. I didn't mind since the food overall was good (the Mexican items were made particularly well) and the Servers were nice. It's a large buffet with good variety which they change through the week. I really enjoyed sampling local dishes and the tropical fruit. We did order room service once which wasn't great. They only got half the order correct, the portions were small and you cannot order additional drinks or snacks. On the plus side, the service was prompt, the presentation was nice and the Server was very pleasant. The Resort is right on the beach, which is great. The beach has Security and Lifeguards during the day and we found our time at the beach to be enjoyable (and cooler) although we spent most of our swimming hours in the pool. For those who do not wish to venture into town to shop, they allow a few vendors to set-up small tables near the beach (and one near the casino). The vendors are friendly (and persistent). Haggling is expected which I think is fun but I can understand why some do not enjoy it. The Resort itself has shops which have some essentials and decent souvenirs but you will pay for the convenience. Transfers from/to the airport were included and easy to figure out. I went to the Front Desk on our last night to pay any outstanding amount which made checkout the next morning very easy. Upon checkout, you get a card which you must give the driver or he will not take you from the Resort. I took only U.S. dollars which worked out fine. I do recommend taking at least $40 in small bills for tipping although the Front Desk will break larger bills into smaller denominations for you.

Our first Punta Cana trip
Hotel grounds were beautiful! The rooms were stunning....we got a loft close by the beach...not ocean view but we could see the ocean slightly. We had another room for my sons and the bathtub leaked incredibly with a terrible odour...so we asked to be moved which they did easily....the rooms were kept clean....the food was ok.....good but not great.....the drinks were really strong and fairly good...the options were good...the staff were friendly but did not speak much english so ordering a meal was a challenge. Always could find seats on the beach and pool...down fall is the breakfast closed at 10 am which is too early...11 am seems more appropriate. ..finally we all got severly sick! Stomach nausea and diarrhea ...my friend for two days and in bed and my son in bed and my other son severly sick on the plane ride home.....severe dehydration and they nearly held us back for his safety.....we did not drink the water but stopped having ice in our drinks thinking the tap water was used and perhaps the water is not filtered as claimed. With speaking with a number of guests ...they too had suffered from this as well. But....the beach is gorgeous the gym was awesome! I will not return to this resort . But we still had fun... ..

The grounds were incredible, always clean and beautiful. The buffets were okay, a huge selection of food. Not always cooked to perfection but the variety was there so always able to find something to eat. The restaurants on the other hand were absolutely perfect! With the exception of the Brazilian one. All our servers (buffet and restaurants) were great! The rooms (for being deluxe renovated) not bad. Whenever you showered the water would always flow into the bedroom thru the glass doors on the other side. The air conditioning needs to be fixed. The safe in the room didn't work. The fridge was restocked daily and the rooms were cleaned daily - no complaints as far as that goes. The pool was always clean and the beach was spectacular.

Incredible Resort!
This resort is absolutely beautiful. Our room was amazing (we had a loft suite) and very very clean, I could not get over how nice the rooms were, especially after going to Cuba last year, this well exceeded our expectations. The food is great, the staff is amazing, the beach and pools are fantastic (especially the secret pool). I really cannot say enough good things about this resort, I have zero complaints. It even rained for a day and overcast the next and we did not care a bit. I never write reviews, I always say I will but this is literally this first time I ever committed. It was that great and I strongly recommend this resort to anyone.

Great Resort
Rooms: we were in a newly renovated single story room in the palace section. Rooms were up to North American standards (with USB wall plates and a Bluetooth alarm radio for example). As you will read in other reviews, shower design is odd... it is a little difficult to get into and out of the shower (need a wooden step). Not an issue for people with no mobility issues but could be a problem for elderly guests. Also, there is only a sliding frosted door (with a finger hole) separating the room from the bathroom. Not a big deal for a couple but could be awkward if you share a room with a friend. Also, if you can, try to get second floor room as the balcony is covered and is a nicer place to hang out (perhaps while your getting ready for dinner). Wifi: fairly strong free wifi throughout resort. Good enough for FaceTime. Beach: amazing beach. Chairs were not that difficult to find. We would go to the beach at 8am and could find very good seats in the "front row" with a parasol and there aren't really more than 3 rows (more or less) or chairs. Pools: pools were very nice and one is open late. Fairly relaxing atmosphere while we were there (ie people were having fun but it didn't feel out of hand in terms of partying - on the same note, i suppose that if you are looking for a more wild party trip, you may be a bit disappointed). Restaurants: Food was very good (relatively speaking - for an all inclusive resort in DR). Decor / ambiance was very nice in each à la carte. We went to six à la cartes. Our favorites were the steak house, Italian and Brazilian grill (we did not get into the Japanese restaurant but hear that it was also very good). You cannot make reservations unless you are in the royal section (i think). We would typically go to dinner around 8pm. I understand that if you go when restaurants open (6pm), you get in fairly quickly, otherwise you go on a waiting list. In our case, we waited anywhere between 15 minutes and 1.5+ hours. I would say the most frustrating part of the trip was getting into the à la cartes. Restaurants are sometimes half empty but you are still made to wait (i assume to keep tables open for whoever can reserve). It is also sometimes very difficult to figure out how much time until you are seated or how many tables are in front of you on the list. For example, you can be the next table on the list but then watch people walk into the restaurant ahead of you. When I asked if anyone can reserve tables (simply because I was trying to figure out how the system worked) I was told no... but I really think some guests can reserve and jump the line (royal guests and travel club perhaps???). This is all "fair game" if that is the case and perhaps if this was clear I could be "upsold" to one of those rooms if I decide to return in the future. In any event, we are on vacation and have nothing better to do so it did not ruin the trip or anything...also, you typically get a pager and can go wait near a bar so it was not that bad. Japanese was the only restaurant everyone could reserve but be ready to line up at reception at 7am if you want a sitting earlier than 1015pm. Also, if you have children or do not want to wait, the buffets were excellent and probably just as good as the à la cartes. Summary: great resort. Would consider going back, but with the option of reserving restaurants... so maybe upgrade to royal if price difference is not unreasonable (but could also be convinced to try another 5 star in the area).

Very nice
In many ways the Grand Palladium Place Resort and Spa was excellent. The hotel itself is very nice ,the customer service representatives were friendly and accommodating. The grounds were beautiful and kept clean and well maintained.. My wife and I found that meals were well prepared and gave each of us a nice choice to choose from. Waiters for the most part were friendly however, at times seemed to forget others and concentrate on people they knew better . We had a junior renovated suite and it was spacious with only a few problems that were fixed in a reasonable amount of time once they were identified. The major problem with the room was the tub. When having showers the water would leak onto the floor in the area of the bed. The glass tub enclosure (s) and I say enclosures because many of my siblings experienced the same problem. Checking in and out was very well organized. The hotel computer for printing out boarding passes was not working the best and after paying all that money why do we need to pay 5 US dollars to print out a boarding pass(30 min pc time). Myself and others experienced pc problems and, if they were not sorted out, the cost would have been much much more to print it out. To me this payment is a form of gouging an individual. A strong point is the fact that come 11 pm you could hear a pin drop, the bands had stopped playing in the vicinity of the hotel. Allowing all to have quiet a noise free environment to just sit back and relax or sleep. We would definitely book the hotel again.

2nd Time Around
This was our second visit to the Grand Palladium Palace Resort & Spa. They had made a few changes since our first visit 2 years ago. We really enjoyed the upgrades to the lobby area, the pool area, and the room was very nicely decorated. The only thing we didn't like about the changes was the setup of the room with the bathroom enclosure: we could see privacy being an issue for some people with the frosted glass partition and, as we'd read in many previous reviews, there was a lot of water that leaked from the shower into the bed area. Aside from that, we have only positive things to say. The restaurants were consistently delicious and had great options, we found different things to eat at the buffet every breakfast/lunch/dinner that were equally delicious. Loved the easiness of grabbing a hotdog from the cart around the pool or grabbing some fries and fried chicken at the beach snack bar. Also loved the late-night snack offerings in the sports bar--perfect after a night of drinking and dancing in the disco or lobby. Staff are overall amazing, friendly and efficient, from the waitstaff and bartenders to the gardeners, maids, and entertainment team. They made our stay feel like home and like a lot of fun. We love the size of the Palladium complex. We like to stay on the resort for the entirety of our stay and the amount of available activities onsite really added to the fun of our week. Almost every day we took a break from the pool or beach and either participated in pool games or went to the sports center to play basketball or tennis. One of our favourite activities was renting bikes for $5USD each: because the complex is so huge with so many pathways, it was really fun to tour it that way. Another favourite activity was the spa... We spent $10USD each to use the spa facilities, which included cold and hot pools, a sauna, an ice room, steam room, relaxation areas, and an area to apply your own mud/clay bath. The overall resort is beautiful and Bavaro Beach can't be beat. Even though it might be busy, there are always loungers available and lots of shady spots under the beautiful palm trees. You could walk the beach for hours if you wanted to. We would definitely recommend the Grand Palladium Palace to people who enjoy a great, fun, relaxing vacation with good food and service.

Wonderful trip
Our family had an amazing time at this resort. The resort is beautiful with lots of great restaurants and food. There are many pools and they didn't ever seem overcrowded no matter what time we showed up. As a family, we were looking forward to the children's club, however, we were quite disappointed. We had a hard time finding information on children's activities and really any kid's club information in general. The resort did have some activities going on for adults as well but again, they weren't well publicized (sometimes posters would be up at different locations but not for all activities) so we would just happen to come across them at different times and locations throughout the resort. Overall, a fantastic stay with lots of positives.

Great Trip with some exceptions
I will rate the following based on our experience at Palladium Palace; Food, Facility, Entertainment, Room and Sevice … then Overall. Food - 7/10 We found the Buffets fairly good with variety and quality. The a la carte restaurants were a bit of hit and miss; Very good – Mexican, Japanese (Show Grill), Average – Italian, Poor - Steak House. Mexican – Good menu and atmosphere, supply good quality and plentiful food. Service was the best at this restaurant. Japanese – Good Show at the Grill (Hector), very engaging and entertaining as well the food was good. Italian – Food was average (self serve apps and pizza were good), pasta was a bit over cooked. Atmosphere was dark and service was standard nothing special. Steak House – There really nothing good to say … the self serve apps had Caesar salad just soaking in dressing, onion soup was a bit on the salty side and steaks were thin and dry. Service had a hard time getting the order correct, just a poor experience. Facility – 8/10 This is what I would consider a Super Resort – 4 resorts in one big complex, even so I have to admit the grounds were well maintained, pools were cleaned regularly and shuttles to move around the resort were abundant (really necessary). You can walk, but going from RST to the Sports Bar would be a hike. Entertainment – 6/10 The animation team was fairly inconsistent, some good/bad. Many times when an activity was scheduled (beach volleyball) you would have to chase them down to get a ball as no staff were at the beach. In the evenings, each resort within the complex would have music, but to see the shows you would need to do some walking/travelling to another area in the complex. Room – 8/10 We had a renovated Loft at the Palace, overall the room was nice the only knock was the funky design of the shower/tub and the dresser drawers in the closet need TLC. Service – 8/10 Found that tipping really went a long way to getting sustained or good service. Ie room/mini bar/buffet/bars/a la carte. Other – 2/10 In my opinion, there’s just way too much selling going on. You should have the right to a peaceful vacation (that’s what you paid for !!). Whether at the lobby, walkways, pool or beach we were constantly being solicited for Travel Club, Excursions, Spa or goods vendors. This wasn’t unique to the Palace as all resorts in the complex had the same atmosphere. For us, it got to the point that we avoided certain areas either by walking around the lobby or just not taking routes that made us pass the vendor tables. I know the Palladium probably sees this as a cash flow, but while it didn’t ruin our vacation it certainly contributed negatively. They post no reservations required at the a la carte restaurants, but with the proliferation of the Palladium App (Chat) this is no longer the case, we made 5 reservations on our 1 week vacation. I would recommend everyone take advantage of the system while you can, from our perspective it was just pandemonium at some a la carte restaurants (Japanese). Lastly, the sheer size of the resort and number of vacationers. While would had a good experience and would recommend Palladium Palace, it’s not for everyone. At least not if you’re looking for a more intimate atmosphere. Overall 7/10 Cheers

Beautiful Resort with an Unexpected Surprise
After 3 stops to drop off guests at other hotels we arrived at the Grand Palladium Complex. It is a huge complex with separate lobby areas for each of the 4 resorts within it. We were dropped at the Palace Lobby ( so we thought) It turned out we were at the Royal Suites Turquesa Lobby. We were offered hot towels and champagne while we began our check in. They discovered there was a mix up and we were at the wrong hotel and were being sent over to the Palace Lobby. They gathered us up and transferred us over. Once there we were informed that they were upgrading us no charge back to the Royal Suites Turquesa! So my review is of this hotel. Food was amazing, grounds impeccable. The whole length of the complex beach is just beautiful. We did have some lunches at the Palace. We also loved the live nightly entertainment at both the Palace and Royal lobbies. Our room was spacious and maid service was great. We used the room service which was awesome and the servings, well a bit too much but you were never hungry. We tried some of the a la cartes and they were great. Would highly recommend this hotel. We also used the Spa! OMG its amazing and the massage ladies are incredible. Make sure to take advantage of the water areas of the spa. Drinks were all good, top shelf available if you asked for it! I can't think of one thing to complain of...

Family Vacation January 2017
This resort is beautiful! It is kept very nice. Here is the summary of experience: Check in: Amazing - we arrived at 3:30, rooms were ready, and we had our keys and were to our rooms within 20 minutes of arriving. There was a small issue with one of our rooms (requested double beds in one room, and got a king), but it was rectified very quickly, and a new room was assigned immediately that met with our approval. Our rooms were in 95 block which we found conveniently located. We had a loft suites, and they were very nice rooms.. as we only had 2 people in each of our rooms, the loft was not really used. The Bathroom shower/tub is not well designed, as mentioned in other reviews.. Water gets everywhere, and we needed extra towels to clean up the water... but it did look really nice, and the water pressure was awesome. Mini bar was stocked daily :) We found the bed very comfy! Food was good, the specialty Japanese and Brazilian were AMAZING!! Unfortunately, we did not get to many of the restaurants.. but the buffet was definitely a good alternative. There was a very good selection of food! Pools were beautiful, and lots of seats.. couple days got busy, but we always managed.. The resort was HUGE.. It really is 3 in 1.. (Grand Palladium Bavaro, GP Punta Cana, and GP Palace, can all share facilities, and then there is Royal Suites Turquesa, also, but GP guests do not have privilege there.. So, if you are at the Palace, and want to go to the Disco or Sports bar, or go see a variety show at the theater, it's a trolley ride to Bavaro.. I would have preferred if the resorts were "self sufficient", and if you didn't want to leave your corner of the world, you didn't have to. The sales people can get on your nerves, but after a couple times of saying no, it stopped. Overall, It's a beautiful place to go for vacation!

Grand palladuim palace/ Royal
apon arrival we were let off at that wrong hotel, (the royal) we had herd that someone we knew was upgraded to there and hoped they would let us stay, but they sent us back to the palladium but when we got there they sent us back to the royal . So we were upgraded , was very nice, room service all day, beach was good , pools were excellent, the whole complex was clean. Staff polite, English barrier wasn't to bad . The only thing i herd from our group of four was this....... beds were hard ( didn't think so, one of the girls went for a message to get the kinks out) there should be a better blanket that stays on the bed better and is heavier. Hated the time share guys always on us, and herd nightmare stories of other travelers getting stuck for hours of there vacation in a room before that figures it out. and last but not least as a rye drinker it was hard to find. but i survived. All in all was a great hotel with a great experience . The food was incredible, actually grew tired of lobster ! crazy

Terrible Flight
Flight time was 8AM- we arrived at the airport at 5:20AM, completed check in, waited till 8AM, no boarding, no such announcement, so, we all had to be at the gate without going anywhere inside of the airport- at 8:10AM, the flight time changed to 11:45AM- again, no explanation. We waited till 11:45AM- no boarding at all- and around Noon- they started to board all passengers- and we had to wait inside of the flight till 1:40PM- NO Food- had to buy poor flight breakfast options to feed family. Flight attendants were very grumpy as they also were called to work on their own day offs. Understand the circumstances. However, we arrived to the hotel around 8PM (current time)- it was just tired, hungry, lost one day of the vacation. My mother got sick as spending too much of unexpected day- could not eat any food, and just stayed at the hotel room- hotel room did not have any sun gets into the room, smell like Fungus, phone/ security box not working- asked to fix them at the front desk couple of times, no one speaks proper English. Staffs were extremely nice/ very impressed by staffs- very clean- nice food- staffs were cleaning - tidy things up so well.

Super DUPER amazing resort
Everything was wonderful and beautiful. The weather was perfect; not too humid and not too cold. The staff were very nurturing and provided me with everything I needed. They were very social and always happy. The location of my room was perfect as well. Just steps away from the pool, beach, and a restaurant. The beach at Palace was beautiful. Staff were there cleaning the beach and discarding away seaweed or any sort of sea plants. Comparing to the other hotel property beaches, ours was by far cleaner and the sand was very smooth. There was a wide variety of restaurants and the buffet always had a variety of choices. Overall, this hotel exceeded expectations and I plan to come again.

Definitely 5 Stars from us!
We stayed at the Palace the end of October. The newly renovated rooms were great although I would say there were some design flaws but nothing that effected our stay. The food was amazing! Lots of variety and even the pickiest eater wouldn't have trouble finding something to eat. Although we don't speak a word of Spanish we were still able to communicate and the staff were overall very friendly. My only suggestion is if you don't speak Spanish and need service (maintenance/housekeeping/etc) don't waste your time phoning, just go to the main lobby and speak to someone in person or you will be waiting forever to hear back from someone. I can only assume it was the language barrier. The grounds were impeccably maintained! Beautiful mature gardens/landscapes. Lots to do or if you just want to relax, there are many pools and a long gorgeous beach to lounge and relax on. Would definitely go back! Just keep in mind you aren't at home and you can't go anywhere expecting perfection or you will always be disappointed wherever you go. Have fun and enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere!

Just arrived home from our lovely vacation which was awesome. The resort was immaculate, room was clean and beautiful. The food was great with a lot of selection at the buffett. Most people spoke English which was a blessing, since our spanish is limited. Overall, we are going back next year as it was very relaxing, maybe a bit too relaxing. In my opinion they could improve on the night life, but that is minor. I would give this resort 4.5 out of 5.

My husband and I booked a loft suite at the Grand Palladium Palace and got a free upgrade to the Royal Suites Turquesa, the Adult only side! With the upgrade, it included 24 hour room service, free WiFi, butler to book a la cartes and fix issues, exclusive restaurants, plus free reign all over the Grand Palladium Complex in Punta Cana!! As we could use the whole resort, we tried out the buffets at the other complexes.Food is excellent everywhere! Fantastic beach, one kilometer long! Lots of beach bars along this stretch so take your insulated mug and enjoy! Personally, I didn't enjoy the dark rum in my drinks, so I requested white rum in my drinks and they tasted much better. Awesome Miami Vice drinks from the bartender at the Brazilian/Japanese A la carte bar! Shopping was a bit expensive at the on-site stores. There is one shopping strip at the Palace and one at the Bavaro, plus one in the lobby at the Bavaro. Cash machine is in the lobby of the Bavaro, I was able to use my Canadian Debit card, We never went to any of the theater shows, but did the beach party. We really enjoyed the patio lounge at the Palace in the evenings. The massages were expensive, but we explained we were Canadian and they dropped the couples massage price down to 90 US each. There is a secret Adult pool between the Palace and Royal side that is awesome. It has a heated pool and is open very late. My husband and I both loved it here and can't wait to go back!!

Grand Palladium Palace in DR
Loved the facility and the service. Front desk staff were great and very helpful. Servers in the lobbies were amazing as they were always there right away as we sat down. They were always very pleasant. Restaurant choices were super. The evening lobby entertainment was available in five different locations every evening and was very good. You could tell by the number of people listening and dancing. Plus, the beach was beautiful and seemingly endless. The pools are well maintained and very relaxing. Finally, the grounds are very all maintained and look beautiful. This is our second Grand Palladium experience (first was Mexico) and we will be back.

Mega Resort - Nice Place, Good Food
Large but Nice Resort, Great Beach†4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago Palladium Palace: This hotel sit in a mega Palladium resort that is composed of 4 distinct resorts: The Bavaro, Punta Cana, Palace and Royal. The first 3 are interchangeable and the Royal is the “adults only†that can go anywhere but is restricted to the others. The restaurants and pools are located around the resorts and there is transportation (Train, long golf carts, etc…) to move people around. Hotel: Quick check-in and accommodating front desk. Hotel went out of their way to please us and we got a fantastic loft room with a view on the beach. We were in block 91 and the room was a little dated but they are in the process of renovating. It did seem that the renovated room were reserved for attracting “Club†members. Overall the room we had was acceptable. The housekeeper Luz did a fantastic job of keeping the room clean. Beach: The beach was well maintained and has some of the nicest sand in Punta Cana. There are plenty of lounge chairs around but the shaded areas and palapas are limited probably due to the fact that the beach is narrower for the hotel. There are some towel reservations games for the choicest spots but not nearly as early as some other places we have been. No good snorkeling on site but can be had nearby at a cost. Pool: The Palace has a large pool, clean & well maintained. The pool bar is easily accessible from both the water and the deck. They have activities for all who wish to participate and it make for an entertaining area. They even brought in a large inflatable structure to be used as an obstacle course. Plenty of palapas and tree for shade as well as areas for sunning. Entertainment Team: Active on both the beach and in the pool area. Not overly pushy and quite fun. Bars: Plenty of bars all over the resort and the choice of mixes is good. Restaurants: The buffets offer a lot of choice and the service is very good. Try the various ones at the other 2 hotels. There are multiple “a la carte†restaurants and our favourites are Mare Nostrum, Sumptuori (Japanese), Tapeo in that order but the others were good also. Outside Activities: Plenty of activities to be had but a bit of advice…shop around and bargain for the best price. Always pay by credit card to have an official receipt even if they offer a discount when you pay cash because chance are, you can get cheaper elsewhere. Overall we had a very enjoyable time at this resort and would recommend it to others. they have free wi-fi everywhere which is great! We rate this hotel a 4 out of 5. Room Tip: Block 91 is great

GOOD RESORT BUT..
Grounds and pool areas are great. Food was average. Rooms were OK but the newer renovated rooms have poorly designed bathtubs that leak into the bedroom. No adjoining rooms anywhere, which we had requested. Their idea of an adjoining room is two rooms next to each other but none connect directly. Three of four of us were sick at the end of the trip even though we never touched the local water.

Great Resort!!
This was my second year in a row at this resort and I really enjoyed it once again...I especially like the fact that you stay at one and play at three...Each lobby has different entertainment every night with a variety of music..The grounds are impeccable, the pools and beach are beautiful with never any lack of beach chairs. A good selection of restaurants with the Japanese being by far the best...My only complaint here would be that you cannot reserve in advance...The buffets had a good selection however I don't believe they have enough staff to cover the amount of tables. Not arriving as soon as the buffet opened, we rarely walked in and found a clean table that was cleanly set with cutlery and napkins...Disco and sports bar are very enjoyable and the service was excellent...I would recommend this resort and not hesitate to go back..

Very nice resort
Lovely grounds, nice remodelled rooms, good selection of food in buffet, and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The only problem was getting in & out of the bathtub (or shower) which was poorly designed, and caused flooding on the floor, which in turn becomes a safety issue....could be dangerous! Other than that everything was great.

Great resort
grounds are beautiful.....rooms kept very clean but definitely not geared for people with minor disabilities(ie: bathrooms).....pools had green algae growing in grout lines of tiles.......beach is absolutely a 5+..........doctor Juan at the clinic is a great doctor and shows much concern and passion for the tourists at the resort(would rate him 5+++)......loved not having to make reservations for a la carte restaurants (paging system for table is superb)......staff was very nice and friendly although often there was a communication barrier with language......food was excellent...........vendors with tables on the resort are a little aggressive and will not allow patrons to look over the wares leisurely..........bar tenders need to learn how to mix drinks (most of drinks were too strong or not at all what was ordered).......thanks for the free peanuts and olives at the lobby bar

Bad experience at the Grand Palladium Palace
I stayed at the Grand Palladium Palace in Punta Cana with 7 friends for a week in November. Overall it was a very frustrating, non-relaxing hotel experience, but I was honestly just happy to be on a beach somewhere. That said, I wouldn't recommend this place. Pros: - Nice pools - Rooms close to the beach/buffet/lobby Cons: - The toilets in 2/4 of the rooms backflowed into the rooms, there was sewage everywhere. We were moved to new rooms after complaining. Then right away they moved new people into our old rooms and we heard they had the same issues - Phones didn't work - TVs didn't work - Mini fridges didn't work - Safes and locks on the doors didn't work - Generally bad customer service, we often had to argue a LOT to get even the most basic service, like being switched out of our sewer rooms - The regular buffet didn't have very good food, a lot of it was old - the VIP buffet had good food, I'd suggest paying extra for that - Room service food was very gross and we never got what we actually ordered - Very aggressive salespeople all over the resort and beach, one guy actually grabbed me

Very nice resort.
We loved how everything was so close. We could get to the pool, beach, lobby and restaurants in less than five minutes. We would have liked it better if the beach was a little deeper. Everyone was so close to one another.

Wonderful Retreat
The hotel and grounds were very well maintained. Everything is very close - beach, pool, restaurants. The selection at the buffet was plentiful and you could eat there everyday and always find something. Beach was small but you could walk along the beach to the other areas of the resort. The only small thing I could complain about is that there was no coffee available in the lobby first thing in the morning if you get up early ie 5:30/6:00 am.

Grand Palladium Palace, Punta Cana
The room itself was nice, we had a beach view which was amazing. The staff was friendly at the hotel and restaurants, they try to accommodate your needs. There is a market place located on the beach by the hotel which has nice souvenirs to select from, if you don't mind walking out of the resort, there is a small market place not too far from the hotel as well. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach, I think it's typical for July, the water is cloudy which makes it harder to see fishes.

Nice Stay but very large resort
The grounds and rooms are beautifully kept. We payed for a loft room in the Grand Palladium Palace but received an upgrade to the Royal Suites. We were happy to receive this upgrade because the only restaurants we ended up liking were the ones we could not have gone to without the upgrade. In general the resort is very nice but tooo large for us. We will look for a smaller resort next time. This would be great for a large group

Great resort, property, food, staff and weather,
Buffets were amazing as were the a la carte restaurants. I am disabled and the staff was respectful and very accommodating. The rooms, as well as the grounds were kept very clean. Nightly entertainment in the various hotel lobbies was very good. The wifi throughout the property was good most of the time. Flight and transfer logistics all went smoothly. We were very pleased with this vacation.

Nice vacation
We just came back from staying at Grand Palladium Palace. First I will start with the front lobby, it is very nice they have live entertainment nightly which is nice, great if you want to sit and relax and enjoy the music. Next we were in a loft, there was 4 of us 2 adults and 2 children 10&12. The room was nice, clean, there was some wear and tear on furniture. What I didn't really like were the stairs and railing going to the beds on the upper level. I have a son who sleep walks and it is a bit scary I think for children in case they should get up in the middle of the night. Next the food, the buffet is good, a good selection, I find the food to be very tasty. What I did not like was the service, the wait staff was slow to clean up a table to sit and also were not quick with clean up of plates on table. The buffet close to the pool was great, great service great food. The a la carte you don't have to make reservations but if you want a spot you must go at 5:30 to reserve for that day. Entertainment was ok not that many activities going on a bit in the morning at beach and then again at 3:30 by pool they did not post this anywhere. I like a bit more variety. Also the entertainment crew which were great Julio, Julianna and Lilianna were a lot of fun. The only thing I didn't care for is constant need for the hotel to keep asking for reviews. They would take you to the lobby and wait next to you while you fill it out. Lastly the night shows although I found them amazing dancers beautiful costumes, it was too much dancing every night. There were no other kind of shows , I like when they get the guests involved as well or change it up. I did forget 1 thing I do enjoy my coffee/cappuccino but only the lobby has this, they do not open till 9am. You do have coffee makers in room although I wish that there were places you could go and get coffee yourself . All in all I would say that it is a nice resort but they would need to change a few things. I would not return to this hotel again. We have been to Punta Cana several times and preferred the hotel we were at prior.

Beautiful resort....but!
We had a 14 day stay at the Palace in march 2015. Beautiful beach and grounds. Food is good with lots of a la carte restaurants. This resort is very busy! We we're given a room in the 92 block. It was under construction! So...2 weeks of hammering, cutting, drilling in our building, from 7 am to 7 pm. Sometimes no water, no electricity. Our card reader for the door stopped working upon arrival, took a while to get fixed. Same with electricty slot inside room...card did not work...so no electricity! We spent a lot of time at front desk begging for another room. Overbooked!! Would I go back? Maybe not. When they say first impression is a lasting impression...the bad made our stay very unpleasant from day 1.

Very large resort
The grounds are beautiful and most of the staff were helpful. A la carte restaurants are good but the favourites (Italian and Japanese) are more difficult to get into unless you go very early. Trolley around the resort is a nice added feature to help get around. Beach area is very clean with smooth sand and the two BBQ's at lunch time were good. Pool are and swim up bars were fun but never enough chairs for lounging. Our room was a bit of a disappointment -- relatively small and dated -- twice the fridge not stocked as it should have been and initially not cold, TV did not work for 3 days (reported it 4 times) and trouble with hot water. I would recommend if you want a large variety of restaurants, bars and activities.

Beautiful resort
The Grand Palladium Palace is a beautiful, well maintained resort. The beach front is gorgeous, and there were always ample beach chairs to choose from. The beach bars were convenient and the mid-day BBQ offering was great. The pools are very nice, and again there were a lot of beach chairs available. For an all inclusive resort, the food was quite good. The breakfast choices were ample, but I do wish that breakfast was offered later than 10am. There are next to no options between 10am and 12pm in terms of food, so if you miss breakfast you're out of luck. The main complaint I have about the resort is the a la carte dining system. There are MANY a la carte choices, but unless you pay the upgrade fee to be in the Royal Suites, you cannot make reservations. This meant lining up each evening to give our names to the hostess and then waiting sometimes an hour to get a table. Also, the food at each restaurant didn't always match the theme (for example turkky breast with cranberries at the Mexican restaurant). I should also mention the beautiful sports facilities - tennis courts, badminton, volleyball and soccer, as well as a decent sized gym. Overall it was a great experience. We had some great service, and some service that was not helpful nor friendly, but I think that is more a cultural issue.

Overall a good break
Our experience on the day of arrival was disappointing. We waited additional 21/2 hrs after check in time for our room key only to walk in to a room already occupied! We were told "that is your room, have the bell boy remove the luggages in the room"! We insisted to be assigned another room instead. The service in general is average however the resort and the beach are fantastic. We find the food quality of the a la carte restaurants average so we dined at the buffet restaurants many times over.

Beautiful Resort with great a la cart restaurants
We loved our loft room, the grounds are beautiful and well kept, restaurants are clean and most staff friendly, attentive and speak fairly good english. David, a waiter at the Buffets was amazing and very attentive. The food at the buffets could use some improving but was better than the buffets on our trip to Cuba. The a la carts were really good, the Japanese, Brazillian, Steak House and the Bamboo were my favorites. The beach is beautiful, the pools were very nice. We would definitely return again. Not impressed with the management
Our vacation was from Feb 8th to Feb 15th. When we got to the hotel they did not give us any information regarding the hotel. We went to book our a la cartes and were told they are first come unless you are a Royal member. In some cases that meant standing in line for an hour or more. I did not book a vacation to stand in line. The hotel checked us out a day before so my husband had to provide them with our information again so we could stay our last night. On the plus side the hotel is very clean and the staff was amazing.

Abundance of foods to choose from. Friendly and hard working staff! Nice lobby, accommodations, and beautiful beach! The massage on the beach was terrific! Things that could be improved: don't allow vendors to harass guests into buying their products. Too aggressive! Evening entertainment could have been better. Some of the male waiters frequently made animal sounds around the tables when serving drinks. Doesn't appear professional. All in all it was a great experience and we would recommend this resort.

Great break to the winter
Beautiful grounds, beach, food and drinks. Rooms were a little dated and public bathrooms on the resorts were not kept clean. The beaches did have excess seaweed on them but they tried their best to clean it up daily. Never had trouble getting 6 chairs on the beach in the afternoon, but more difficult around the pools in the afternoon. We didn't care though because the beach was much cooler and beautiful. Staff doesn't speak the best English but they can figure out what you want. Tried almost all the a la carte restaurants except the steakhouse and all but the Bamboo one was GREAT! The buffets were also good especially in the evening. Also had great service! Sometimes there will be a long wait to get in since you can't make reservations unless you are in the luxury section.
