This has been my 2nd time here I like the staff they have become my friends and specially "Nekko" he's the best to help or assists very helpful This is not a 5 star but good place to stay. Staff are great, friendly and always willing to help. There are no elevators, but they did accommodate me by giving me a room on the ground floor, because I have a knee replacement Food is ok everyone can find something to eat and the Ala Cart restaurant is good which you can make reservations daily to eat nightly. The grocery store "Mega" is next door. They put on a lot of shows nightly, most shows are in Mexican so you cant understand. There are lots of Mexicans that stay there with the family/kids and seem to cater to them more Not a place to relax just party, sleep and eat. WIFI only works up at the lobby bar and the beach you can not swim there is a big undertow. Very clean there too the staff are always cleaning

We really enjoyed our stay at the Costa Club. Staff were all friendly and accommodating, the food was predictably amazing. It does not matter what your taste buds like you will find something. The complex is well looked after with some of the most hard working staff I have ever saw in my 20 +years of visiting Mexico. The pillows could stand to be replaced but that is the only part of the room that was uncomfortable. I want very impressed with the dress code of the ala carte Italian Restaurant. The food was good but really are we that offended by bare toes? Who brings dress shoes to Mexico? Over all I would totally stay here again.

This was my second stay at Costa Club, and I would stay again. Kind, friendly, hard working staff, good food, clean and beautiful rooms. It is an easy walk to the Melacon, and has access to a long beautiful beach.

We quite enjoyed our stay overall. There was one person who strolled the front lobby area (im sorry i didnt get his name) but he worked days.. ensuring we had everything we needed. He was wonderful. Nice room with a great view of the pool and ocean. LOVED the iguanas on the property. Food was decent, bar service great. Friendly staff. Room cleaned perfectly and daily. Fantastic A La Carte and a great location. My only recomendation would be to allow visitors to have a tour of the location to see what it offers so they may stay in the future. Overall happy with our stay.

All was good except construction next door which I read about before booking. Staff was Great and Room Clean with Excellent Service. walking distance to old town and Marina was convinient. What More can I Say

They Cater mostly to the Mexican that stay at this resort, but grounds were clean, staff are consistently making it look clean, however my room had a smell of what seemed to be urine and the smell got stronger everyday. By the time to complain I felt Oh Well we're leaving in a couple days All the glass (plastic cups) they use for drinks are cleaned and reused. Just remember these glasses are also used for ash trays too and it's not good drinking something from one and finding cigarette burns in the plastic. But you can do as I did, find a good one and keep reusing it. Food was not so good, unless you were Mexican rice and beans, But you can go to the Ala Carte which was much better Bacon for breakfast you have to ask for it at the grill where they prepare eggs Also the snack bar food was good (Pizza, Home made French fries, burger The beach is not all sandy and had some beach rocks NO BODY swims there it has a very strong undertow Rooms and baloney are big and spacious, however if your in the old building there is absolutely NO Ocean/ Beach view because of a building in front being built and in the old building there are NO elevators, but 60, yes 60 stairs, I counted to the top/third floor There is a large building being built right in front of the resort so there is constant noise from Monday to Saturday 9 to 5 They do put on a variety of night shows that are ok On a good note the staff are awesome and any complaints the Manager will try and resolve it ASAP The TV remote wasn't working they had it fixed and working very next morning. All in All you get what you pay for with this place, but I'd go back and just eat out

This is a 3* Resort. Rooms clean, renovated rooms better. Food 3/5 Book the Italian Restaurant at site, 4* Beach area 1/5 Walk to the Malecon ( boardwalk) 20 minutes walk away GREAT! or take Bus or Taxi Restaurants, Flea Market, Local Cuisine at a whim. Friendly staff at the resort. Mostly seniors or families with extremely noisy unsupervised unruly children ( I have 4 myself that were disciplined and taught to act respectfully) Noise from the jack hammers reno next door non stop during day light hours ( they took Sunday off)

The staff was great, the food was lacking. We found the lunches were better than dinner. The noise from the construction was a little much. The staff turned up speaker to drown out noise only msde it worst.

Loud jack hammer is working from 9 am to past 7 pm EACH SINGLE DAY right next to the hotel plus there has been reno work done on the Costa Club too every day of the stay!Air Canada Rep Tino did not do anything to relocate me to a different hotel, he said I should pay in full the difference and hope for the refund from TripCentral.TripCentral agent referred back to the Air Canada Rep.I felt nobody cared! Sent 2 email complaints and made a call. Nobody responded to email! I was provided HOTEL ADVISORY 2 days prior to the trip...as if you can change the package 2 days prior to your flight. Hotel Manager gave me a different room, but still you can hear the loud noise all the time!Had to escape each day to downtown/booked day trips to avoid getting more aggravated and disappointed - that increased the overall cost of the trip.Far from being a peaceful and quiet time.Rooms have cockroaches,spiders and geckos LOL!Staff is friendly though.Food at the buffet is fine,not much variety though. Italian restaurant is way better.Book with the reception staff before 2pm. Beach is not very clean, entertainment is less than mediocre...but if someone warned me as I was booking the trip, I would not have gone at all! if it was not for the noise, it was a good price otherwise.

Pool areas were excellent. Rooms were set up nicely. Beds could use an upgrade. Meals and service were top notch. Our only complaint was the jack hammering that went on from 9:00am until 7:00 pm at the adjacent property. Even loud pool music could not completely drown it out!

We have just recently checked into this hotel. Overall not a bad place if you're not a luxury traveller, however, what nobody tells you is that there are 2 construction zones going on right now to the same time; one from the hotel itselfs renovating three guest floors and another one between the hotel and the beach, where they are piece by piece tearing down a ruine of a hotel. This means two sources of noise from Monday til Friday morning to evening. It was so bad that we had to transfer to a different hotel. And as this wasnt enough AC had lost our luggage plus we were charged to stay at a different hotel and were charged for a hotel we never stayed at! Last time that we booked with TripCentral or AirCanadaVacations.

we have been to PV around 30 times . At this resort app. 5 times . We book at this resort if price is attractive compared to our favourite resorts that are 1-2 stars higher ,and their price is much higher when booking. Rooms are clean,staff friendly and accomidating.Food is not as good as other places we stay,but we pay a lot less. Jan/2018..old resort in front of Costa being demolished with very noisy jackhammers going all day .Excellent location to walk downtown.

We had the great opportunity to be staying at Costa Club Punta arena for 1 week. It is a clean comfortable small hotel with very caring staff, making it feel very safe and a home like atmosphere. The location in regards to getting down town to the malecon is great and very close to the marina as well. Catching taxis and local buses is very easy. Rooms were very large and clean, we were in the older section and they were just fine. This is a budget hotel so remember that you get what you pay for , but for the price I think you get more than you paid for. This is not a luxury hotel , but a comfortable clean small hotel. The food at the buffet is catered to Mexican tastes, but then again ....I guess you are in Mexico. You should never go hungry and you can always go out for dinner. Currently there is a lot of noise from the tearing down of an old building in front of the hotel, this is not the hotels fault.

I need a room where there are no steps to get to it. This hotel only had 3 rooms in the garden area that fit this criteria. After one night in the garden room which had steps we were moved to the tower which has an elevator. The garden rooms are clean but very shabby. The tower is new but sparsely furnished. If you like to read in bed bring a book light because there are no lamps in the rooms. The staff is excellent, friendly and willing to engage in conversations.The food although served cafeteria style is really good with a lot of variety. Close to the Malecon so can walk to it. The pool area is large and well maintained, 1 kiddie, 1 adults only and 2 others. There seemed to always be enough lounges for everyone. All in all I would rate this at about 7 out of 10, only because the rooms need improvement.

The price was right for this hotel. Always kept very clean. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to remember your drink order. The food was decent we always found a couple dishes that were good. We requested a refrigerator in our 2 bedroom suite, as we were travelling with 2 small children, and after a couple of back and forth emails with the hotel directly we were granted our request. Wifi was terrible, didn't work in our room, but worked very well in the lobby. The weekends get very busy with locals, so get on your chairs early. The beach could use more chairs and umbrellas. We didn't use the adult pool or Italian restaurant as we were with our children. Snack bar was decent burgers look scary but were decent! Value for our money was excellent, We didn't feel bad going out for a couple of dinners and lunches as we wanted more authentic Mexican food. The bed in our room was comfy, but the one in the other bedroom was a little hard for my liking. Ocean view in tower 19 was a nice bonus! This was our second time staying here and we will return.

The place is great and has a different feel than those big chain hotels around it. It feels local, friendlier and more genuine. The resort has the right amount of amenities so that you don't feel trapped in there - you feel inclined to both enjoy the resort and the city. The food was amazing and plenty. It has a great array of buses right outside if you feel adventurous, or you can have a nice walk to the Malecón boardwalk. I loved that they had a adult pool away from the kids for when we just want to relax. They have WiFi throughout the resort, but it was really unreliable in our room, probably because we were next to the pool and restaurant, so it was a large traffic of users most of the time.

This resort was very nice and clean , located halfway between airport and downtown with access to busses and tons of amenities. The Malecon is a 20 min walk and Romantic zone is 45 min walk. The new dining room is beautiful overlooking the pool. The food was very good and in one week had a great variety. My room was big and clean with a nice TV, balcony and air-conditioned and Lourdes my room service lady was amazing along with all the other staff.

Costa Club presents an amazing opportunity for discount travellers to indulge in a all inclusive experience while being able to explore the heart of Downtown Vallerta. Pros: Price Location (close to airport, restaurants, beaches, etc) Clean Pools Friendly Staff Cons: Beach (rocky, high tides, etc) Food (lack of variety, kids under 11 are not allowed to eat at their Italian restaurant) No fridge in room Wi-Fi (barely accessible) Shows (most of the nights they only have Karaoke - attendance is often less than 5 people) Ongoing construction around pools (noise, etc) Overall, I had a great stay. The location of this hotel gave me the opportunity to explore and make the most of my vacation. This is a 3 star hotel - don't go expecting a 5. The food is edible, the rooms are clean, the beer is cold and for the most part the sun is shinning, I would return. A waking dream of Mexico - until next time!

For your information I have sent the following letter to Air Canada Vacations, I have received an acknowledgement that they have received it but still waiting for an official response from them: This message is intended for Air Canada Vacations. Our trip was booked early in January to the Costa Club Punta Arena Puerto Vallarta. The hotel was only a 3 star so we did not expect more than we got for this, it was a clean and friendly place to stay and the staff were very good. My complaint is that there was construction of a new wing of rooms ongoing at the resort every single day we were there, and our booking company did not mention that this was ongoing. I have booked with them many times, and have always been informed if there were any issues to be expected so I can only assume they were not aware of it either. It was almost impossible to sit by the pool in the late morning, and late afternoon due to the jack hammering and pounding that was non stop. I am disappointed that as a tour operator, this type of information wasn't provided to us so we could have either expected it, or perhaps booked at an alternate location. I expect this type of information to be relayed to your package sellers so they can advise customers what to expect, especially when its that close to the amenities, literally right by all of the pools. I hope that if I book any Air Canada Vacations in the future that I am informed of this type of activity so I can decide if I want to make other arrangements. My NO Recommendation below is in regards to the construction.

The resort was okay. Location was best thing about it. Beach had too many rocks and the bars and restaurants had bad hours, even worse they never opened on time. Some staff were very rude. The maintenance guy was the best. So polite and made a point to talk to us everyday. The shower head leaked loudly the whole week. Someone came to fix it but gave up and never came back. Snack bar had incredible food.

This is a very busy resort, people are everywhere. Not so good for a romantic getaway. Travelled with family so it was just fine. Nice staff, good food and the rooms were basic but clean. The adult pool up top is very nice and not busy. This place is in a great location.

This is a very well kept resort for the age. Rooms were clean. Grounds are well maintained. Pool area had plenty of loungers and shade areas. The beach loungers and umbrellas could use some updating with more being available in this area. Food was very good with lots to choose from. Within a 10 minute walk from the start of the Malecon, 20 to 25 minutes walk to Old Vallarta. This was my second stay at this resort. Would stay again.

It was great till the pool music and the nights were so noisy you can hear people talking next to you because the doors are not sealed properly I will not ever go back and even was there 5 years ago..

You get what you pay for.2 buffet+not so friendly servis at restaurant.Very close to supermarket.Walking distans to beatiful downtown of Puerto Vallarta.Room service OK.The best things iauganas walking under beach chairs eating salads.

rooms were cleaned daily which was good.dining and food very good.staff were very freindly. spoke very good English swimming pools were very clean and sitting area was very good.staff were always keeping the place looking good.

Staff were great, the food was very repatishus,grounds we're very well kept .very over run with Mexican people staying. No place to go for a little quiet time expect your room.roosters wake you up too early in the morning.

Just spent a family vacation at this hotel from January 30- February 13, 2015. The hotel has made a lot of upgrades since we started going 6 years ago. The hotel is usually very quiet between Sunday to Thursday, but on the weekends the place comes to life with a lot of bus tours. But on those days you can always get away and experience other areas of PV. The staff at this hotel is very accomodating. They always go the extra mile to make sure your stay is great. The manager (Tino) for the restaraunt did a great job in making sure that my family was always well taken care of. He made special meals for our family and always made sure there was a table ready for 12 people at the restaraunt. There are a lot of great people that work at this hotel. But I would like to say a big thank you to Wendy and Pablo. Always quick to serve us with whatever we needed.

The staff was excellent and the grounds and rooms very clean. The rooms were very Mexican and simple with whitewashed walls and budget furniture. The theme of this facility was mexican with the music being loud and on from morning to night until 8. The clients were mostly mexican. The food was very good but not alot of variety. It is a budget hotel .

This is not a resort that I would stay at again. The service was not to greatest, the food was not the best (unless you like weiners). The towels and sheets in the rooms looked like they were years old and never seen a good cleaning. My room was on the ground floor and my patio door did not lock. It was walking distance to down town which was good because the resort really had nothing to do and the nightly entertainment was real bad when they had any. No I will never stay there again and would not recommend this resort to my friends.

We have stayed at the resort 5times. Each time there are lots of improvements. New king size bed,new showers, new tv, new air conditioning, new snack bar. Many of the tourists are return customers and make you feel like family. Thanks to Donna, John, Reggie,Iris,and Joe for making us feel so welcome. As well to all the staff, thank you for making our stay so pleasant.

The hotel is very well located for people who like hiking, as every major spot such as the Old Vallarta or Marina are with the hiking distance. The size of the hotel is good, separate 3 Floor buildings are all nicely spread among the well kept gardens. The service was very good, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, the opening hours of the restaurants and bars were quite extensive allowing to accommodate various needs. Iguanas living in a garden zone leading to the beach were a big asset and attraction. On the negative side is a big hotel which was built between the coasta club and the ocean, obstructing big portion of th view. The hotel was not finished and does not look good. After a while thou we got use to it and it was not a problem any more. Another thing was a bit too loud music at the pool, not allowing people to have a nap at this area. The beach was a nice alternative, so we enjoyed spending lots of time at the ocean side. Overally it was a nice relaxing stay, good vacations!!

Resort is smaller, cosy, room was a good size with balcony, bed was very comfortable, people are friendly, walking distance to shopping.and flea market. Overall we had a very good stay and would go back.

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are some of the nicest ones I have met. Special mention to Wendy in the Dining room and the pool and entertainment folks, Ricardo, Lupita ,Victor and Joaquin. Grounds are beautifully kept.

At first; this hotel seemed very dated; scarey in fact when we first saw the dining room which was more like a cafeteria in a homeless shelter than what you might expect of a hotel dining room. Having said that and after the initial shock wore off, I have to say that the dining room although in desperate need of updating, had a great selection of food and the staff was among the best we've ever had...and we've travelled a bit in recent years. The staff even took the time to help me learn a new spanish phrase each day, because they knew of my interest in learning. The room although dated was very clean and large and actually consisted of a livingroom, diningroom, kitchen with an outside adder room with a place to rinse out and hang your clothes to dry. Our unit also consisted of two bedrooms and a balcony overlooking the pool area. The air conditioning was great and the water was hot and ample. The location of the hotel is superb and within very easy walking distance of town. We went down to the Malecon most mornings.The hotel grounds were directly on the beach and also beside a lagoon which was populated with an abundance of wildlife including huge iguanas. We had a great time and met many nice people. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone... just be forwarned that the dining area will probably not be what you are used to.
