apon arrival i ask for superior they gave me standard i paid for superior next day they corrected error, front desk needs empathy, food was very good resort laid out as small but everything close, noise level load at night but stops 10pm or so buffet a lot of choice al la cart good, beach is good long walk for hours, security is good i left items on chairs nobody touch your stuff.. if you tip you there friend Ocean water clear on calm days, fridge stock with water coke sprite room 2 queen beds rooms p330 and up is good close 2 everything they have another section building away from action ocean view room pool beach close , beach lacks kayaks should be added there resort has been opened since 2023 closed 3 years, resort moderaten in good condition is not for single person most families groups go there is worth the money, relaxing vacation i hope is good review , the tour guide Jose is very good go on the cruse to the Catalinia Island boat ride is worth it ...

I have no regrets rebooking for another vacation, never thought of a bad experience will hinder my planned vacation. The hotel was exemplary! Starting from staff, the place and the food of course. I will not hesitate to go back!

The Coral costa Caribe was an esthetically lovely resort with a lot of central located amenities. The food was good with an excellent variety to choose from. The coffee bar with specialty coffee was an added bonus. The A La Carts were hard to navigate as there was minimal signage and they rotated sites. I found the pool bar staff to be less than excited to be there with barely a smile or even a conversation at the top part and would infrequently serve down at the pool area. I had a hard time with the rudeness of our Westjet/Sunwing representative. Initially when we were interested in an excursion he was wonderful but once we paid and then had a couple of questions and concerns he totally ignored me and was on his phone. Then he lied to my daughter in law when she stopped by, He told her our concerns were taken care of as he had talked to me already but when I went back to talk to him he had left before 1100 when he was to be there until 1200.

Excellent food, great service (although very little knowledge of English). Wonderful beaches!! Spectacular Al A Carts. The night shows were disappointing but I didn’t go there for that so didn’t care. Would go again

The resort grounds were lovely and well kept, many cute kitties around so do not forget to bring treats. Yellow canaries gather in a tree close to the main pool every dusk and sing all together an amazing sound. The room are cleaned very well but we did have to check our patios sliding door to ensure the cleaners had locked it properly. The food was extremely good. Our favourite restaurants were the Tex Mex and the Mediterranean. The buffet has various choices so you will not go hungry. The beach was amazing and the water mostly calm. Great snorkeling near the rocks in the Sea. The only down side was our flight landed and departed in Punta Cana which is an hour and a half drive to or from the resort and the airline WestJet had approximately 6 flights departing close to one another so we were in a baggage line up leaving for 3 hours and all these flights were delayed.because of over 1,000 people trying to check their bags. We will be back but not with that airline.

Hotel very cleaned, food very good. Needs more staff in the buffet area. One evening clients had to set there own tables by getting ustensiles, napkins erc a couple of clients pick up the red wine bottle from the counter, pour themself a drink and return the bottle On the counter... 98% of the staff do not speak english or french. They do not understand even little sentences. Very hard to communicate with the restaurant, buffet and cleaning staff. The bar pool, my comments and many tourists also usually the pool has about 3 1/2:feet of water before reaching the bar then to a certain part of the pool the water goes up to 4 feet. Fron the pool stairs the depth of the water starts at 41/2 feet or is only 5 feet Not very practical for clients who do not know how to swim and also anyone who would like to walk with a drink in there hand. Some kids had to stay in there parents arm. This is the first hotel that I see that has so much water in the bar pool.

Really liked the resort our room was in the perfect place it was clean and spacious only didn't have a chest of drawers and the patio door was hard to use the food was good and we enjoyed the activities the staff were friendly and welcoming

It was our first visit to the Dominican Republic. We had a great vacation at the Coral Costa Caribe Hotel. The staff was nice, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were clean as well as every other areas of the hotel, nice clean pools, clean beach. The food was very good, they had a variety of food everyday at the buffet. We visited all the a la carte restaurants and they were good. Air condition worked well all week and the hot water and pressure in the shower was excellent. Internet works well. They have good security presence in all areas of the hotel. Overall we feel like we got good value for the money we paid. We will come back for sure to the DR.

With my limited walking I like to thank the front desk for giving us a room close to all the activity. I have a good memory but very short so please forgive me if I don't mention any names. Gracias to our son and his friends at the pool bar and all our grand children in the restaurants, you have been very helpful. There was always something different to eat at the buffet. We frequent the snack bar for the peace and quiet and the chicken was tasty. We went to four al cart restaurants, the Mediterranean twice. It was great. Our room was good and always well kept and many thanks to our maid who in a pinch helped with a bit of birthday surprise. Stayed most of the time under the umbrela or looking for shade. .

A smaller hidden gem. Food was good, quiet resort. Our room was clean and spacious. Beach was beautiful! We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere, and the staff were great. Very relaxing vacation. Would recommend to others, and I would return.

We love this resort!~ We were there 8 years ago and decided to go again due to its small size and the peacefulness you feel as you enter. The excellent and friendly staff will work hard to provide you with all you need. Service is exceptional, as is the cleanliness of the entire resort. This is not a luxury resort, however, there is always lots of great food for every palette, and management and staff worked hard to make Christmas Eve wonderful! Lobster, shrimp, oysters and every kind of dish you could imagine were served as well as great entertainment although the weather was a bit unstable due to rain. We are going back for 2 weeks next time as one week wasn't quite enough. Thank you to Juan at the bar for taking such good care of us! Till next time!

I stayed at the coral costa caribe 14 yrs ago and decided to go there again in Mar.24. Upgrades are great. Rooms are always clean showers amazing never ran out of hot water. Grounds are kept clean as are food areas and the sports bar. Only thing I would suggest is a new way to book al a cartes. 6 am line up everyday while on vacation is not acceptable. Maybe be able to book online before the trip or even during the trip for any day not just the day of.

The food was super great.....it was very clean, staff was so nice....the only thing that we had not checked was the drive from the Punta Cana was 2 hrs from the Resort....a bit too long for me....... Besides the fact that it was a small resort compare to others it was divine for resting and sunbathing.

This was my 15th time to the Coral Costa Caribe. It is the best Caribbean resort and I have traveled extensively to 6 Caribbean countries over the years. The resort caters to their clients and treat me like royalty. I have now gotten to know a lot of the staff personally and the greeting I receive when I show up is unbelievable. The accommodations, beach, food and customer service are all top-notch. I will continue to make the Coral Costa Caribe my holiday destination as I know what I am getting every time! The location is close to numerous interesting places to visit off-resort and places you will want to visit every time you visit. It may not "present" as a 5-star online but this resort offers like a 5-dtar in my opinion.

Pros: The Safari excursion (offered by Sunwing?) was VERY nice! highly recommended! The rooms had powerful AC units that cooled the rooms down within minutes (they are off when no one is in the room). The buffet was surprisingly very good! All water that was served to us was bottled water. There and many bars in the resort and the service and decent and fast. Most staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. Minor issues: Beach vendors often come by to harass you to buy something. They are very insistent and use high pressure sales tactics. For example, my girlfriend had a vendor start making an ankle bracelet around her foot without consent. They are very pushy and only leave you alone if you totally ignore them or if you say "no thank you" a few times in a row. ATM machine is hard to locate. Asking front desk employees can help guide you to the right location (outside main entrance) Major issues: Were were told not to drink the tap water 24 hours after arrival. I drank the water(1 small sip) to take my pills in the morning without knowing it was unsafe. I had digestive issues for a week after/during the vacation. When booking, we wanted 1 king bed but upon arrival we were given 2 queens. We asked to change rooms and they we kind enough to changed us the following day. However, in the new room, there was a cockroach under our mattress. After a complaint, they changed us immediately to another room. They handled things nicely, but it was 2 days of changing rooms instead of enjoying the resort. You need 20$ USD as part of a leaving/exit tax. This was not explained to us before arriving. When leaving, we were told that they accepted Dominican Pesos equal to 20$USD. Our Sunwing representative told us that 1000 Dominican Pesos = 20$ USD. At the airport we were told it was 1200 Dominican Pesos and they don't have change. I had to take out money from an ATM twice and overpaid (2500 dom. pesos) just to leave the country. I understand this is not the Hotel's fault, but I'm putting this here for general information and precaution. It would be nice for this information to be accurate and available from the hotel and not to have to stress and overpay throughout the leaving process.

I found the front lobby and eating areas to be well kept and clean. Pools were great and around them were kept clean. I loved the trees on the beach for shade but still a good amount of beach not shaded. Food was good in both the special restaurants and buffet. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. The room needed some renovations. Patio door very sticky and the dresser drawers also sticky. Lost hot water once but cold water is not that cold for having a shower. My son very much liked the disco for dancing.

We were beginning to second guess our choice of vacation after reading such negative reviews, what hogwash. The staff from check-in and throughout the resort are great, always smiling and very helpful They are constantly cleaning and grooming the place. We were here for two weeks and didn’t attempt the Ala carte restaurants as the buffet was terrific Always a great variety from the meat, vegetables and potatoes. Some people are just too demanding while on holiday. Would return again.

Really enjoyed my stay there. Was not sure at my first night, but I will recommand it for the staff, the food and discotheque. Little problem, not enough place at the buffet, lot of table I reserved for VIP. It s close to a 4 stars, VIP are going to 5 stars or diamond club. Long beaches but you should not swim far, coral and sand banks drop quick. But there is boue. Small safe resort.

Pros: Beach is amazing - clean, warm water with sandy bottom and little fish, white sand, plenty of lounge chairs and beach is close to snack bar and washrooms. Public washrooms were well maintained. Mangoes Snack Bar had the most amazing pizza that was always prepared and ready to grab. A la carte restaurants were available every night with a reservation. Hot chocolate served at breakfast was yummy. Bar service was fast. Many options for refilling water bottles with clean drinking water. Staff were consistently pleasant and approachable. Resort is on the smaller side (400+ rooms) making the experience very low key. No large resorts within a 3 km walk along the beach in either direction - only a handful of smaller resorts. Two pool areas, which appeared nice although we spent all of our time at the beach. Excellent air conditioning in the rooms. Beds comfy. Room and floors cleaned every morning. Nice balcony with view of courtyard. Six stories, with a modern elevator. Absolutely dead silence every night that we slept and into the morning. Very happy with the sleeping environment. Good hot shower with excellent water pressure (except for one random evening when we had no hot water whatsoever). Mini fridge in room. Two small bottles of water provided by maid each day. Free wifi in rooms and lobby. Cons: No premium alcohol, however a very good red house wine and DR draft beer. Room bathrooms were quite outdated - grout is falling apart in tile floors. Toilet worked well, but difficult to get seat to stay up due to sink (made for tricky drunken trips to the toilet for my partner). No coffee maker in room. We could not get the television to work, although we were not too fussed about it. Pillows a little lumpy - but there were four for the two of us, which was great. Sports Bar had a weird musty, damp smell - however the most frozen drinks could be found here. Lots of soliciting on the beach for various goods - however, all sales people were very kind and did not push past a “no thank you, not today.” All in all this resort is very good value if you are willing to overlook its aging facade. We would definitely return.

The place was always super clean the workers there were great the rooms were nice a little problem with plumbing sometimes.the beach was clean pools were also great service excellent a la carte were very good food was good overall a great place to go we would go back.

Beautiful place. Nice and clean, it even smelled clean. Good food, beautiful beach, lots of shade and loungers. Superior rooms are a fair distance from the main area, but if your healthy they are worth the walk. Casino is closed down but I think there is a casino $30 dollars by cab away. I enjoyed this resort.

For a 3-star resort, we were comfy, well fed and had all we needed to make it an unforgettable vacation. If you go with an open mind and don't expect over the top luxury, you will be fine. The only thing I found a little annoying was making reservation for à la carte restaurants every morning for that evening. Fruit quantity/quality everyday was delicious. Staff was friendly although not always very bilingual.

We went in the second last week of April and it was amazing weather, warm with a nice breeze not humid at all, we had about one day where it rained the entire day , but the resort is full of friendly people and games to keep you entertained throughout the day and at night they brought in the "chocolate friends" who are a group of entertainers who dance and sing (they are amazing!). This showed us that they had good precautions in case of storm or whatever. We didn't bring any kinds but they have many child friendly activities daily and nightly entertainment for children as well.amazing and clean pools, beautiful beach with lounge seating int he sun and shade,large towels , 24h snack bar and delicious buffet 👌🏽The food was amazing! And so much variety , several vegetarian dishes. We started our stay with a small tip to the servers and cooks etc and they made the stay so much more enjoyable . The resort is really safe and has some people selling things on the beach (note: be friendly they are just trying to make money politely decline if your not interested, and if they give you food don't eat it without asking how much! Because after a bite of a small plate of 3/4 clams they will try to charge you $10/$20 so always ask before you sample) the people selling things are very nice and friendly and are known to the staff of the resort. The staff are amazing! Overall we had an assuming time great place! The suite we had, had a beautiful view (garden view) it had a few palm trees and you could see the beach and water! We had the second floor which was nice I saw the higher floors and the trees kind of get in the way of the scenery. The rooms are relatively clean and the washrooms need abit of an updating (never put toilet paper inside the toilet) the hotel was very accommodating and met all of our requests. Only thing that was that when we were leaving we almost missed our bus to the airport because the staff didn't know that the bus was going to the airport and thought it was a tourist bus, so yeah... we only realized because a passanger got off to use the restroom and we recognized her because we came down on the same bus and flight. So we could have missed the last bus (which was 30mins off schedule) if we listened to the staff. That was a simple error so it didn't affect us. Also the resort has amazing restaurants that you can make reservations for (delicious!) and it's very safe neighbourhood, we walked around wearing normal clothes (nothing flashy no camer) and there's tourists police everywhere to keep everyone safe. Honestly this was an amazing resort beautiful scenery, friendly people , friendly staff, great entertainment and club, and delicious food!, I would definitely go again

Just got back from Coral Costa Caribe. What can I say. Had a good time, but certainly not because of this Resort. The best thing about this resort is the beach. Absolutely beautiful! The pool is small, but average. The people at this resort do not speak much English. We would ask for one thing and they would ask us if we were asking for something totally different. We would ask for a drink at the bar which is listed on their board and they had no idea what we were talking about. If it's on your board then you should know what your serving. We go away 3 times a year and we have never come back from a resort and had such negative feedback. Little things don't bother us, but there are just too many things wrong with this resort. The first night we got there we had 2 rooms and both rooms had dirty stained sheets on all 4 beds. Not acceptable. One room had 3 lights that didn't work as well as a toilet that wouldn't flush. They have no water pressure there so it is a big problem. We went to Customer Service and told them about the sheets and that we were not happy with the rooms. They were old and run down and the mattress were like concrete. We were told they would change the sheets and for us to see our rep the next day which we did. They did come and change the sheets and put clean sheets on and sent a plumber to fix the toilet. The next day we changed rooms. I asked to be put in the rooms that they are displaying on their site. The customer service rep just laughed and said they didn't have rooms like that. The problems with these rooms is that there is no water pressure. I had to take a video to show them the little trickle of water that was coming out of the shower. You actually had to hold your hands underneath to catch the water. This wasn't just in our room. It was in our daughter and my sister-in-law. They said they would send a plumber, but this problem never got fixed. There is just not enough pressure. Half of the time we didn't even know if we would get hot water. Again in these rooms the mattresses were sleeping on concrete. None of the patio doors locked and when we enquired about this we were told to get a safe that none of the patio doors locked. I guess our money would be safe, but I don't know about us. My daughter wanted to go to the gym everyday, but when we checked it out, it was in a dark, dingy basement not safe to be in alone for a teenage girl. The gym was very small with what equipment they had piled together on dirty mats that looked they haven't been cleaned in a very long time. It was not in a very safe location and anything could have happened down there and no one would know. Entertainment is not always the best at these resorts, but we always manage to watch them and enjoy them. Not at this resort. Sadly lacking for entertainment. Food was a whole other issue. Not enough variety of food and the meat was always so tough that you couldn't even eat it. I have never been so disappointed in food at a resort before. Be prepared to be bombarded while you are on the beach with the locals that set up over to the side and every half hour one of them walks by trying to sell something. They just keep switching up people and sending them over. It got to be so annoying. We bought stuff from them, we had massages from them, we bought paintings from them and yet they just kept coming. The only saving grace about this resort is the beach. Unfortunately, not enough for me to ever go back to this resort.

Food was no problem, grounds were kept superb. Staff in general was good. I felt they could've seemed to care a little more. Never waited long time for anything, some stood above the rest. Rooms need work. Well ours did, we were in main c building, 4th floor. It's just old and the plumbing will work ...usually. We have good water pressure compared to most as our friends didn't, we had great flushing toilet where our other friends didn't. A/c was leaking a lot of water even tho we didn't even have it on. I've been to better resorts and worse. Beach was great, clean at resort but the venders are a pain except for some who are fun. But they pester you a lot and are aggressive. The games played on the beach are good, same all the time tho. Needs imagination is all. Simple layout change would go a long way. 24 hour food is nowhere near 24 bar. Not even a bar near the 24 food. Mexican a la carte was great, dominican and Italian not so much, disappointing actually. Something at sometime made us all feel bad , only for about 12 hours or so, then somehow it turns around. Not sure what, possibly the food being washed in the tap water,The tiny fruit fly like bugs that were everywhere? We travel with friends and we make a good time no matter where we go. We are open minded and take it all in as good. So minor things, the hotel was good! You gets what you pay for as this place was cheaper than most. Location of hotel from Punta Cana is far, but the drivers sure can get you there fast!! LOL

The food at this resort was great! Buffet every day was new and interesting, and the a la carts were delicious! Service was excellent as well. I would suggest that this hotel add more bartenders to each bar as the poor guys were working their butts off to help everyone as fast as they could. The beach is decent, but if you're a swimmer, you aren't able to swim too far without seaweed on your legs. The "sales people" on the beach are a bit annoying, but once you have a tan they can see you've been there for a while and stop bothering you so much. Loungers are a bit hard to come by, so it's a bit unfortunate that guests have to "save" their lounger by 8am. I'd recommend more loungers, and beach towels, as it's nice to get a fresh one half way through the day, but sometimes they weren't available. Entertainment is ok. Nothing special. Disco is a pretty cool spot.. just wish more people went to dance when we were there! Rooms are... tired. Floors, bathroom, beds are in need of repairs and replacement. Sheets and towels are clean, so that's really all you can ask for. No problems with leaks, or anything not working. Something I'm sure people are interested in knowing. We did not get sick at all during our vacation. Yay! We brought our own water bottles and filled them up at the buffet or bar and away we went! We didn't do any off resort excursions. The US dollar is just too high and everything is priced in US. We didn't do any shopping either. We paid under $1000 each for the first week of February, so I consider this vacation a good deal for our money

The food was excellent. They had a wide range of good there. The 3 speciality resturants were amazing. The overall rating of the resort I would give a 4. The beach was excelent and and the pools were even better. The rooms were a let down. But you are not in them a lot of time so it makes up for it.

The resort was likely fantastic at one point as it has a lot of potential, but is in such poor repair & dire need of renovations and updates. The rooms are run down, plumbing is smelly and doesn't function well, lighting and electrical wiring needs to be checked out. Casino only had about 1/4 of their slot machines working. There is a lot of room for improvement & proper upkeep would make this resort way more enjoyable.

The layout ( grounds/beach) and facilities were very good. The staff, always a big smile and genuine helpful personality. Go to Staff: speak to Roberto ( yellow shirt lobby ) Meals were good. We were in the main building. Rooms were nice, large enough, and ours had a balcony overlooking the main courtyard. Evening shows and music was entertaining.

This was my first holiday in 5 years. I traveled to the Coral Costa Caribe on February 20 to February 27, 2015. It was located roughly 2 hours away from the airport but I expected that. The beach was amazing and the pool area was okay except the pool bar was closed the whole time and the hot tub was not up and running. The service at the front desk was very disappointing because the staff was very rude and ignorant. At least the wait and bar staffs were pretty nice. The hotel in general is in need of serious upgrading. The room we stayed in was not in good condition at all but it was pretty clean. The bed sheets had holes in them, I almost broke my neck by sitting on the chair which broke and there was never any running water when it was time for me to shower. Oh, ya.... then the toilet broke and it took them 2 days to come and fix it. One thing I can say about this resort is that the food was generally pretty good.

Have you ever seen the TV show "Hotel Impossible?" Well this hotel should be showcased on that. It really does need a lot of improvement. I was very disappointed with the room conditions. When I walked in the room, my jaw dropped. My first reaction was "Are you kidding me? This is what we paid for?? AUGHHH!" It looked and felt like a cheap motel. The sink area was dark and dingy, the lights, when turned off took forever to turn back on (the ballast needs to be replaced). The bathroom was dark...like there was no light on (seriously needs a light bulb change). The bathroom door wouldn't close. The bottom of the doors look like there was water damage. The door frame had a gap between the wall and the frame so you can actually look through the wall (where is the privacy?) The toilet bowl had stains on the inside as if it hadn't been cleaned or even worse it looked moldy. The air conditioner was leaking...water all over the balcony. The bed was lumpy and the pillows were flat. The bed covers looked old and improperly washed. The hallways are dark and scary. The elevator didn't work. I almost forgot...we were on the 3rd floor and when I went to take a shower I found that there was no water pressure in the shower... and then eventually, no water in the shower at all!!! Not even a drop. I complained to front desk and requested a room replacement and was told that it happens at certain times during the day...not much that can be done about it. I was told to go back to my room and they will try to fix it. The service was varied...some of the staff were really good (understanding and empathetic), some need to take a course on hospitality and customer service (downright rude). The food was ok...there were 3 restaurants that you need to make a reservation for. The Italian Restaurant - yuck! I think they use tortilla wraps as their pasta for the canneloni and the lasagna...either that or it was extremely undercooked pasta because it was very tough to even cut through. The beach was spectacular and the view is amazing but the lounge chairs need to be replaced as a lot of them were broken. These are the things you don't get to see in the pictures that they have on the website. BEWARE...It might seem like you're paying a good price for the trip but truly... no price is worth staying here...not even if it was free.

First off, we have done three resorts in 18 months...Punta Cana...Puerto Plata and last ly Costa Caribe...Santo Domingo...Please save your money and pay extra to go somewhere else...we decided to take a last minute trip and call it our Suck It Up trip. So not worth it...we should have just spent the money and went somewhere else. Firstly the travel from the air port took 3 hours as we had to drop others off to other resorts and a local to another town! We arrived at Punta Cana airport at 10:40 and arrived at your resort at two in the morn. They assigned us our room it was damp drapes were hanging off the the wall and bed was on the floor....sheets were so wrinkled and gray stains on the comforter...thought this was a joke! waited til four in the morn to be assigned a room until the next morn....luckily we talked to a manager and he put us up in a room near the ocean...was not what we expected but was better than the others...no hot water in the sink and the shower was just trickling from the hot tap...manager said the whole hotel was like that....Food was terrible no variety...just horrible all around. Only a few staff smiled the rest looked depressed. Funny the vendors on the beach were very friendly and not pushy...they smiled so that was nice! We got beach towels when we arrived however we had the same ones for a week because everytime we went for a clean one they said "thirty minutes" lol...what a joke...if you walk the beach it looks like all the other resorts are closed no business.. i asked a local what was happening they said Costa Caribe wanted to build new but they cant afford it so they a running a low cost run down hotel instead...not a four star like trip link stated..will never go through Nolistar again ... looks like a hand me down resort...please dont waste your money or dreams or time here....lots of locals stay here because they need the customers...for sure a SUCK IT UP VACATION...learnt lesson...spend more go elsewhere dont go cheap....

The grounds are poorly kept. The hotel could be beautiful but needs a lot of money spent on it, it may have looked like the pictures shown by the tour operators at one time but is in disrepair at this time. There is no comparison to the pictures on the tour site. The rooms are large but poorly maintained and not clean. This hotel rates a one star only because of the beautiful ocean that is is built in front off. The staff try's but are overwhelmed by the amount of work and the hours they must work. Poor management, poor service, poor food. I traveled to Porta Plata in the dominion Republic a few years ago and everything was much better except for the ocean . I have traveled to many area's in Cuba and their food, hotel and service was very very much superior to what I had to put up with at this place for shame Hilton. Again for shame Hilton and for shame Trip central for subjecting me a loyal user of your site to this horrible place. I would never recommend this place to an enemy let alone a friend.

What a disappointment. No towels, no toilet paper, very poor buffet with always same food. Service at reception is awful. Feeling shared with most guests of the hotel. So many complaints and see so many people upset.

This hotel needs a sever updating in plumbing and electrical. No water or pressure for showers in evening. hydro went out frequently. Food needs upgrading. We had been there over 10 years ago and I thought they would have been upgraded by now and the food has gone down hill.
