The hotel grounds were beautiful. Workers were friendly and tried their best to as helpful as possible. Really nice amenities and great selection of entertainment and dining experiences. Would definitely go back again.

I was very disappointed when we arrived to find out there is a new side and an old side both with garden and pool sides. We were put on the older side, which as we heard later was not so bad. The rooms aren't great on either side, but keeping in mind you aren't paying to stay in your hotel room, the resort outside of the rooms was nice. The beach sucks but the entertainment was ok and most of the staff are awesome.

After reading reviews about this resort was somewhat concerned. Only have good things to say about this place. Staff are always welcoming and happy to make your stay enjoyable. Place is very clean. food is great and weather was good. A+++ in my book. And Michelle at trip central was extremely helpful. Thanks again!

OK: Lets break this down: Food: We thought the food was great as was the all of the dining staff. We were there for two weeks and never tired of it. Great variety, great deserts, chap who serves the eggs in the morning is an artist. Beach: I’m thinking - Chair Wars. Too many people for such a small beach. Oh and don’t think just because you left your towel and belonging on your char they are safe… certain guests didn’t seem to hesitate to toss your stuff and claim your chair. (Never a Canadian of course).But the beach was nice, maybe too calm and shallow for all likes. The water was clear. Pools: They should buy a skimmer and put it in the pool over night. Either that or catch all the birds flying around and put tiny diapers on them. In spite of the poo and the drowning bugs it was an enjoyable pool. Entertainment and animation: Tough job at the best of times, but not an area I was too concerned with. (sorry) Let’s say it wasn’t bad. Bar staff: Excellent. 10/10 Rooms: Well, we were in the older building with a garden view. The room had issues which could have been easily and very inexpensively repaired, and it’s obvious that their service staff are in dire need of training and/or resources. For the amount of time we spent in the room, and the price we paid, we can live with it. Internet: Forget about it. Every dollar spent is a dollar wasted, and forget about the ‘free’ internet. It’s only available near the beach, and when I say available I mean only theoretically. Walk up to the corner, of the main street, pay the lady at the corner $5(US) and get a G4 SIM card with 500MB, (more if you want ) if that is an option for you. This is one of the sore spots that if I let it, could have ruined my vacation. There is NO excuse for bad internet in 2017. And for some of us, staying connected is the only thing that make vacationing possible. Service(Front) Desk personnel. Fire the whole bunch of them. As I would give the kitchen staff a 10/10 I would give these people 1/10. They must be related to the owners. Fortunately after check in, you can forget about them (if you’re lucky)

Hello..just returned from our first holiday together at the Be live Garden in Bocha Chia ..here we go...one thing I will say is particular staff on the beach side of the hotel were amazing and helped to make many of our disappointments better..Ty RAPHEAL AND ELVIS ESPECIALLY for going above and beyond you guys rock!! Food at hotel was surprisingly good ESPECIALLY the Italian restaurant yummy!! Now our disappointments were plentiful..there was no games room with pool table or darts etc as advertised and We are advid players of both 😞. All the beautiful pictures that depicted the resort amenities were of the Vip areas only and were not included for our access..in addition the hotel does not advertise the set up of the hotels properly meaning the buffet is on the garden side and is accessed by guests from all 3 hotels which are a distance between one another and this makes for overcrowded space when wanting to eat.. The snack bar would close and was said to be 24hours maybe Dominicans 24hour clock is broke !!!! How about some beer in our room fridge as promised daily but NO had to buy our own.. Fortunately our room amenities all worked and We were fine with our room however many guests who paid for suites or upgrades had many non working facilities in their rooms just be aware..over all great trip with the man I love but I have never been to a resort where there was so many false promises and the gift tables that were set up daily were in the only passage to get from the front of resort to our room and We were constantly bombarded to purchase every time we passed sooooo annoying..thanks for listening we will not return ..Crystal and Dave.

Wasn't surprised by issues because read reviews. It is an older dated resort, Broken fridge and phone that were not addressed when reported but neither had an effect on our stay. Check in was far from smooth & went back 3 times before got our room but we ate and checked out the resort etc. during the delay. We were in room by shortly after 4 so not a huge delay. Just expect it and make the best of it. They do not ask if you prefer 1 or 2 beds they just assign you a room. Wanted 1 but got 2 & talked to others next day who had 4 people and got 1 bed but they switched with family they travelled with. Our room was dated but clean. We went for the beach etc. and had a good time. Resort beach was small and could be crowded but kept clean and there is a few miles of beach to walk(public and other resorts) on 1 side of resort. The food was good. The buffet was crowded, would recommend getting drinks on a table to save it before getting food. Other restaurants we ate at were good as well. Allowed 4 with 7 night stay which is good but book them all as soon as you can for best time selections. You can have an enjoyable stay. It was a cheap vacation and with the room being clean, good food and drinks included it was a good deal. Excursions are a great price in this area. A lot cheaper than in Punta Cana. If you plan on spending a lot of time in room or being treated like royalty stay else where but if looking for cheap break from snow then Be Live Hamaca will be ok

Food was so good! Wine, beer served at lunch and dinner, wow! There was a track that runs around the accommodation unit buildings that was so great to walk and exercise and so safe too! Rooms not well kept, sometimes cold to warm water in showers, hair dryer did not work. We didn't like the room, they changed it for us day after. I can't complain because they did as you asked. Room not important to me as we were there for 7 hours only for sleeping purposes. Entertainment spectacular! From singers and musicians just after the dinner hour, to full entertainment at 9:45 p.m. then going to the casino for more entertainment and then going to the Disco dancing all night. Wow! I would love to go back!

Weather great. Water calm. Small beach. Hotel run down. Mold on bathroom ceilings, leaky taps & toilets on resort. Little storage, 4 hangers. Poor service. Faulty keys .Beach far & 45 stairs each way!

Our room was 315 in main building and looked straight onto the ocean, it was just lovely...It was quite a large room with king size bed, two comfy chairs and a small coffee table...The balcony was huge with two wooden chairs and a small table...There was a large walk in closet and bathroom with tub and shower... The beach was just beautiful, and water crystal clear...The food and drinks were plentiful and very good !!!

Our room was badly situated 2142 view of the city. Saturday the club in town had a huge party it was loud til about 3AM. On a daily basis you can hear a dog bark, horns, cars, firetruck even heard 2 gun shot. Public was allowed on resort. The beach was across the street.

Clean room, friendly staff, refrigerator filled daily with beer and soft drinks, bottled water every day. Good AC. Beautiful view of ocean and garden. Food was ok. Alcoholic beverages were good. We loved the specialty restaurants especially the Gourmet Restaurant and Mexican Restaurant. Entertainment was lively (Michael Jackson Show, Brazilian and Dominican Shows, etc...) minor renovations throughout resort but mostly unnoticeable. Could get more lawn chairs both, in the Beach area and the Pool areas. One area which I believe could be dealt with is when tourists complain to staff, staff should avoid explaining or providing answers in the lobby. Tourists with complaints were somewhat loud and aggressive thus creating a stressful atmosphere to all of us present. Overall, my wife and I enjoyed this trip.

all was great, uprated to ocean view which the 150 extra was worth it. food was OK too, but not great. nice weather and great ocean pool. they are using a wall to break the waves. the locals are nice, but if they ever leave you alone for a minute not trying to sell you stuff.

Rooms..not up to date, unless on the ocean view....not enough evening activities...disco and show, not enough. Respectfully, major language barrier. Food great! Beach bars close at six, no lobby bar. Too much walking for people with any disability. The ocean view only has one bar, for your buffet meals, you have to walk across the street to the garden view side.....even if it rains!

Did not get the room we paid for,had to wait 3 hours and still not happy with what the gave us. Many local harrass you when out walking. Pool was dirty and bad lighting on stairs. Not as advertised would not return

My boyfriend and I went to Be Live Hamaca Santo Domingo from March 6 to March 13 2015. Before arriving we were skeptical of the hotel due to the poor reviews. However, the hotel was not as bad as the reviews perceived it to be. The location of the hotel is different then most all inclusive resorts that I have been to due to the close proximity of the resort to the city. This hotel is directly located within the city. If staying on the garden side you must cross a public road in order to go to the ocean side. This was something that was not expected. This would not be a good resort at all for small children due to the fact you have to cross the road everyday and the lack of children's activities. Overall, our room was located in building 19. We were on the third floor with a king bed over looking the town's housing. This was not a very pretty site however there was not a lot of noise. The air conditioning never worked and we never received sheets that actually fit the bed. However, the room was cleaned daily and we were left a new water every day. The pool on the garden side was very nice. You could always get multiple chairs in a row. However, you could not get a chair in the shade ever. The pool was always cleaned. The bartenders at the pool bar were very nice and pleasant. The beach was nice, but very small. If you are familiar with large beaches like cuba. This is not the resort for you. Due to limited space the chairs and people were essentially on top of each other anywhere you were on the beach. The dock located on the hotel's property is the divider of the public beach from the hotel's beach. Along this line venders would reside there. Beach was way to small for the amount of chair and people. If you enjoy a nice walk on the beach this would not be the beach or hotel I would recommend. There are also a lot of people trying to sell tours (i.e., catamaran or four wheeler). They are allowed on the resort and beach and are very bothersome. We were asked atleast once a day if we wanted to go on a tour, if not more. The food was good. I use the word good as it was better then the food served in Cuba. Two added features of Dominican to Cuba is that this hotel had pepsi and ketchup. There was a variety of food at all times. A bundle of fresh fruit at every meal which was nice. In comparison, to the price we paid $900 each direct from Moncton to Dominican it was worth it. However, I will not go back to this hotel due to its location from the airport and the beach. The staff was very friendly and the food was fine for the week. Please be aware that if you fly into Punta Cana and you are staying at this resort it is a 3 hour bus ride. If arriving at night (after 10pm), please be aware that there is a public Disco at this hotel and that locals are welcomed and that locals do hang around the front entrances which is not that comfortable.

This place was disgusting! Mold on the walls and in the tub, rusty old locks on the safes, dirty and old. In the 50's, i'm sure it was a nice hotel but it hasn't been updated! Staff didn't speak english. Not even a resort!

This was my 1st time to DR, I have been to Cuba many times before and love it. We found that the customer service at this hotel was far from being great. When we arrived we were under the impression we were booked into the garden side but after standing in line for over an hour to check in we were told that we were on the oceanview side. We took our bags and crossed the street and stood at the counter there for another hour while the staff member took our passports and disappeared for about 20 minutes with them. When he returned we were told we had to go back to the other side. AT this point we were exhausted as it was very late and we were thirsty. No one was there to welcome us with a drink which would have made us feel a lot better at that point. We refused to go back to the other side of the road and paid to have our room upgraded. The grounds were pretty and well kept. The rooms were average but looked like the floors had not been swept or mopped in a long time. The door to our room was split and you could see right through to our room. Everyday we would go down to the pool and all the cups straws and garbage from the day before was usually still there. 2 of the A la carte restaurants were very good (Mexican & Brazilian). We enjoyed the sunshine but would not return to this hotel.

The Hotel is pleasant, unfortunately for us, we were in the Garden View area of the resort, they section we were in - 800's were currently being renovated. so, both our neighboring rooms were busy with construction workers all day. Very nice, but loud, if you wanted to take a rest during the day. Also, our unit needed renovations, so it was old. And the balcony was full of pigeon poo, should be cleaned, at least weekly. Otherwise, a very fine establishment.

Garden view rooms are disgusting!! Worse than slum..be prepared to pay to upgrade! We saw a friend's ocean view suite and it was gorgeous but they paid an additional $600 to upgrade for two weeks. The resort certainly not the cleanest but the pool and pool area were nice. Food was good and beds comfy. You could not flush tissue in toilets...had to discard soiled tissue in wastebasket! Ugh!

We traveled March 7 to 15 2015. The first room we were given was an absolute mess, door would not open fully due to rubbing on floor. No hot water in shower, and dead bugs in the picture frame. After some hassle, and being shown the presidential suite (only possible upgrade for 100.00 per person per night), we were given a new room that was in much better condition, but still very old and dated. The Nolitour site rates this resort as a 4 star resort, but I would rate it as a low 3 star, and I am not a very picky person. Also the Nolitour site said that the Garden section rooms were Beach Front, but in actual fact the Garden section is across the street and through the Beach section building from the actual beach. However after saying this it was not that big a deal as the Garden section has the larger pool, buffet, and 2 of the 4 a la cartes. so we just stayed on our side of the street and didn't bother with the beach. Having paid under 800.00, taxes included, per person we were able to overlook the downfalls of this resort and enjoy the sun, but had we paid any more it would definitely not have been worth the money.

It was a realy nice vacation....me and my friend realy enjoy everythink......met realy nice peoples...we went on a tour that was called Sonana VIP......(y).......the food was good and the rooms was clean that was the important thing.....:)

Food, service and landscape was great. Wonderful time. Water is extremely blue in the ocean and a barricade provided to break the waves and keep the sea erchents out. The buffet was delicious. A la carte s were slow in service but still good.

Beach and pools were great. Food was very good. Grounds were kept well. Rooms need to improve. Repairs need to be done. Need to renovate main building rooms. Repairs need to be done to washrooms around the resort.

Average accommodation (some well below average); Good food and fast service. Excellent entertainment. Rather short beach. Not enough beach cots to go around. Very good bar service. Staff very helpful and polite.

We had a great time. The pools are nice and clean. The beach is very kids friendly. Service is great. Good air conditioned and hot water in the showers. Pretty good food. Excellent place for families with young kids.

I was disappointed with our room. It had a very old shabby sofa, faded old wicker chair and two small beds. It is very different then the photos on the website. The service wasn't great. Food was probably the best part. Weather was great.

Any place on the ocean is beautiful to me, but the Be Live Hotel in Boca Chica failed miserably. Out dated, run down, broken, with filthy rooms and smells. Food was always cold. Some of the "huts" and grounds were beautiful though. The staff did the best they could.

Grounds were amazing. Well kept. Food was very enjoyable. Great NYE food gala. Amazing entertainment most nights. Not the best Casino! Not the best towel service for a big chain hotel. Staff was somewhat uninformed.

The only thing great about this resort was the Staff...particular the maids, the mechanical staff and Alphonso Castro...stay away from the food, does not look appetizing and will make you sick! Go to another hotel!

everything was good except foul food in Mexican restaurant. Animators doing their job great . Beach chairs was broken around 90%, so they should do something about it. i love the people on front desk, they can speak on few languages . nice clean room and service.

They advertise beautiful rooms with all the amenities but when you get there they put you in a very dumpy room where most of the light switches or bulbs don't work, front door has a crack down side where you can see right outside, curtains hanging off the rod and very dirty and with NO amenities! We had to fight to get moved to a little better room. We were always bothered with someone trying to sell us a timeshare. We're not allowed to use part of the beach unless you bought in the VIP, which by the way was the pictures that were advertised as part of our package. Would never ever recommend this resort to anyone!

We were put in a one star room to start at 11:30 at night After complaint at front desk and being told numerous times I got what I paid for , they switched us to a decent room. Next morning went and talked to management and was upgraded to a suit!the wait staff and entertainment people were amazing and had a wonderful rest of the trip. I recommend trying the hornet restaurant it had the best steak I have ever had! Ladies beware of shady security guards!

The hotel room that we stayed in was in a section that was a little outdated but other than that the food was great, the beaches were beautiful and the staff was very gracious, especially our swim up bartender Elvis. He was absolutely amazing.
