This hotel and it's staff are just amazing. We are repeat guests and it gets better every time. We stayed at the Level on this trip and the accommodation was second to none. I love that it is a pet friendly resort and the pets that live there are well loved by staff and guests. The lobby is the coziest place and you will never have a problem finding a place to sit and relax. Staff work around the clock to keep the lobby clean and inviting The food and service at all the restaurants were simply the best! Steps away from the ocean and free golf! What else can you ask for? I will definitely return to this resort.

This hotel was amazing. My friend and I had a regular room in the hotel. Did not see any need to book the Level, too many stairs. .Our room was spotlessly clean, lots of storage room and such comfortable beds. The air conditioning was perfect and our balcony overlooked the golf course/ Our room maid, Odalys, was excellent, supplied us every day with clean towels, clean bed linen and lots of water. Great to have a safe in the room. Big thank you to all the staff, they were so kind, happy and could not do enough for us. To name a few, Julio, Cecilio, Dany, Yuslay (especially sweet) Guiseppi, Yanellis & Elizabeth at the front desk and the two "kids" I wanted to adopt, Laurie and Adrian, and the lady bar manager, sorry I can't remember her name. The food was very good, especially the omlettes in the morning, and of course the bread and the ice cream yummy. The beaches were fabulous, lovely for going for a stroll along the water. Beach bar and toilets were convenient on the beach.The swimming pool was great, and not busy at all. Lovely to lie and relax and read your book. Being a cat person, I loved all the well groomed cats who were very well looked after, they loved to lounge in the sun. We had four meals at the speciality restaurant and they were delicious. Will definitely come back to this resort, The people have so little. We brought lots of stuff down for the staff and their children, and they are so grateful. It just breaks my heart with the situation at the moment, all the hotels closing and the beautiful people not being able to work and they have so little yet are so loving,

I had a wonderful time at Melia Las Americas. WE were originally booked for 14 days,however had to return 4 days early, because of ongoing problem with cuba having fuel shortages. The hotel did a fantastic job during our stay, it was my third time at this resort and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful beach, beautiful grounds, and more importantly absolutely amazing staff.. They were wonderful event facing what they have to face, you couldn’t tell, always a smile on their faces. Not sure why below youre asking for my email when it was you who sent this to me by email??

I wanted to share my feedback about the stay Eliana arranged for us at Melia Las Americas in Varadero this February. The beach was absolutely beautiful — soft white sand and clear, clean water. It never felt overcrowded; there was always plenty of space and we could easily find available chairs and umbrellas. The same was true for the pool area, which was quiet and relaxing with very few people. Although the rooms are a bit dated and could use some refreshing, they were clean and had everything we needed. The hotel itself, however, was fantastic and very well maintained. The long terrace running the length of the property was impressive, furnished with beautiful seating and offering a beach view from almost anywhere. There was plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety of the buffet food — there was something for every taste. There was also a wide selection of alcohol, including wine that was quite drinkable. The à la carte restaurants were good and reservations were relatively easy to get. Service throughout the resort was very good, and the Sunwing representative was especially helpful, patient, and friendly. From our perspective, this hotel offered more charm and better views than the other resorts along the same stretch of beach. Most guests seemed to be golf groups, since the hotel is within walking distance of the golf course. Entertainment was minimal during the day and limited in the evening, so it may not be ideal if lively activities are a priority. Overall, we would definitely return to this hotel and we highly recommend it. Thank you again for arranging a wonderful trip.

Cuba is definitely hurting and you can start to see if in the resorts and golf course. Just getting simple supplies for washrooms withing main lobby (ie. hand soap, toilet paper) seemed to be an issue for the staff. Overall the resort is a nice layout with beautiful views of the ocean. The beach is nice but the maintenance of cleaning up the seaweed was bad (some guy drives a tracker sort of dragging and mulching up the seaweed so it never if all that nice to walk on. The water is nice and didnt have seaweed floating in it. The week we were there it was chilly and extremely windy so in the week we were there, we went in water once. Even the pools which looked nice didnt have anyone in them due to temp. The golf course needs some real care but the workers are too busy selling golf balls vs working. They only cut greens once (maybe twice) during week. They are short on machinery and don't seem to be in a rush to replace them. The carts are ok but they are definitely short of them and staff was saying management wasn't being quick to fix or bring new ones in. The tees had very little grass so most tees were simply sand. Fairways were ok but very dry. The greens were running really bumpy and slow. But you have to remember you are in Cuba. Advertised as golf included but at $44USD per player, this equated to $130 CDN for 2 of us each round. They should simply state that as the cost as you cant walk. The food was surprisingly really good with lots of variety. Beer and wine were enjoyable. The specialty restaurants were a nice break from Dining hall. Most people that we met that had the LEVEL upgrade didn't think it was worth it. Our room was very nice and clean. Showers were always with luke warm water. Tipping was crazy. It seemed (although not mandatory) that people were tipping for every drink, every meal, every visit to the grill, guys getting carts ready, etc. Did make you feel guilty when you didnt tip. Staff was very grateful when we left clothing items for them (eg. windbreaker, golf cap, couple dresses, etc. For the price it was good but need to manage expectations.

The Level Suites Suites are showing signs of wear. The Oceanview Level suits had very poor showers. Often no pressure and Luke warm. The food in the buffet was just ok. They changed to coffee machines vs. Waiters serving coffee, so it created big line ups A lot of the path lighting was out or damaged. We asked that the bulb outside out unit be changed on the first day and they never did get it done.

We had a great time at this resort. Room, food , staff and beach were wonderful. The entertainment was good at the lobby and theatre. The golf was good the greens were a little rough. The views were great.

The hotel and grounds were well kept. We did stay in The Level portion of the resort. The staff were very helpful with any of our requests. The pools were clean and the seating areas around them were well laid out. The food throughout the resort was well prepared and better than anticipated. We did take advantage of the golf course next door. I would return to this resort as it was a great holiday.

Just got back from my vacation. It was my first time back in Cuba for over 10 years. I like others have felt the food in Cuba was not very good and for that reason went to other destinations. Well I am glad I gave it another chance ! Not only was the food good bit the service was fantastic. Great location with golf and beach, wonderful staff that were very friendly. I will definitely be going back

As far as the rest goes, the food is hit or miss, Lemoncello is probably the best restaurant. Drinks are sometimes good and sometimes not so good. (They have switched from serving fresh coffee with milk in the mornings to a machine. I used this for some latte and the milk must’ve been bad because I was very sick for two days). Being part of the level gives you premium drink options so if that’s important to you it’s another thing to consider. Pools are great, staff are great and our only other issue was with our room. The shower was terrible. The rain shower overhead was so rusted and full of calcium that only a quarter of the holes were open to take water from and every time we use the shower Because it was not built correctly, the floor in our bathroom would also be flooded. So we always had to have towels rolled up right by the shower door so the water wouldn’t extend too far in. Why in the world a hotel like this wouldn’t fix such an issue is beyond me but Cuba overall is struggling… To avoid making this post too long, I will not be returning to Cuba For many other reasons.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fun time for a golf trip. The greens need some work but otherwise good. Food was fine. The beach was really nice. The hotel overall needs a refresh. Good for a guys golf trip. If your wife is at all fussy you may need an upgraded room.

Melia Las America is a great resort. The rooms, pools and service are exceptional. Tha access to the golf course is convenient. I love this golf course. This trip was all I expected. We will definitely return.

What can I say Sandra D was amazing from the beginning to the end , helpful, knowledgeable and always available. It was a pleasure dealing with Sandra. Sanda was very nice to deal with, helped us out with everything and every question we had.

Another fantastic week at Las Americas! We upgraded our experience to the Level this time and it was amazing. Great service, stunning 2 floor room and wonderful extra restaurants to attend. The beach is always amazing and never disappoints. The new outdoor space is spectacular. It's always good to see that they are constantly improving the place. Already looking forward to next year!

Adults only hotel. Middle of Varadero Peninsula. Right at the golf course. Shopping mall near by. Really really good beach. Very clean hotel. Food is solid, been to this hotel several times and the consistent food quality helps our decision to return. Evening entertainment was usually live music and performers. Once or twice a week there was a beach party. Large 900+ square foot suites available in the level section, some with two bathrooms.

Always keep in mind that you are in Cuba and not Mexico, DR or Jamaica. Resorts are limited by government regulations as to what they can import or what they can provide at their resort. Therefore, there are not the varieties of foods, beer and liquors that are available elsewhere. The rooms are tiny and the plumbing is primative. Elevators are extremely tiny (4 adults will fill them) and there are only 2 elevators that are extremely slow. The buffet is adequate. Not a lot of variety but enough to keep even the fussiest eater satisfied. I believe there are only 4 bars at the resort. The Lobby bar (closes at 11pm.), the cafeteria bar is open all the time and the beach and pool bars which open at 9am. The golf course is a 3 minute walk from the resort to the Pro Shop and you can store your clubs there so no need to carry them back and forth. Golf is included in your cost but you must pay $44USD per person for the golf cart which is mandatory. All in all it was great value for the money and a lot better than what I was expecting. I will definitely be going back.

First of all our booking agent Jennifer Brown..what a wonderful, kind professional service she provided. Good on you Jen. Yes hotel lived up to its reputation. Wonderful atmosphere and offered the best of Cuba. If I can recommend anything than perhaps a ramp alongside the stairs to the beach .

This was our second time at Melia Las Americas and for the second year in a row, it did not disappoint. We pay the extra money and upgrade to the Level. We think it’s totally worth it. Less busy pools, fantastic service, pool and beach right outside the rooms, the list goes on and on. Our concierge (and now friend) Tanya makes sure everything is perfect for us and checks in regularly when we are there. The hotel is clean and, there’s air conditioning in most indoor areas. Many people always ask “how’s the food”. My answer is always “so good”! The a la carte restaurants have so many delicious options. The buffet is fine. Lots of options - veg, meats, pastas, breads. The mango though…let me tell you, might be the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Get to the breakfast (and sometimes lunch) buffet early because it goes quickly. We will continue to return to Melia Las Americas. 10/10

Our experience in this hotel has not been the greatest. I’ve been going to this resort many years, and I have to say that this time the level of service and quality of food has diminished. The staff seemed to be struggling serving people, and we’re not very efficient The rooms are dated, and the hotel itself needs an upgrade our air conditioning, although it was working was very noisy and had trouble sleeping at night. We paid extra for the level and it was definitely not worth it for what we paid for especially since when I went to the bar to get the level alcohol beverages, half of the time they were missing. The quality of food is definitely not what it used to be this would be compared to a three star resort. I will not be going back to this resort.

The hotel was very clean and well kept. The grounds were kept clean and manicured to look nice.The food selections were good. The bread was outstanding might be the best that i have had. The service in the buffet was very good. The hotel was quiet and if you were going to look for a place to just relax this is the place. Its geared to couples so there was not much late night action going on. The entertainment was very good. The service at the pool bar was excellent, i have to say that Yamia and her co worker were fantastic there service was top drawer.

We came back from this resort last week. It was our first time in Melia Las Americas, and our impression of this resort was good. We booked The Level. Grounds of this resort look very nice. The ocean is absolutely amazing, crystal clear and warm but a bit wavy. The beach is good. We were spending all mornings at the beach, and afternoons at the swimming pool. The swimming pool areas have been well-maintained, and pools are clean and look great. There were not that many people at the resort, and we never felt crowded by people. We could always find launches, and staff at the beach was bringing us launch cushions as soon as we were coming. Our room was very spacious and practically looked like an apartment. Beds were comfortable, and bed linens clean. Room cleaning service was not bad, but in our opinion, cleaning personnel should do a better job. Food and drinks and their selection at the resort were just okay (which was expected and didn't affect our impression of the vacation); however, pizza at Limoncello for lunch was outstanding :) We very rarely eat pizza in general, but we really enjoyed it at Limoncello and highly recommend to try it. Customer service at the resort is decent but has room for improvement. Will we return? Probably, yes. Melia Las Americas is a beautiful place to stay if you need a nice and tranquil getaway at the ocean.

We've been to Cuba probably 100 times in the last twenty five years and stayed at several different hotels. The bottom line is "you get what you pay for". This is probably a four star hotel and it has now become our favorite in Cuba. Feels like home.

The resort is next to the golf course and is very convenient. The resort itself is quite dated and could use an updating. Food selection ok but limited choices. ie - 1 choice for dessert. Beach is spacious with plenty of chairs and cabanas. Drink choices limited. One day on hand next day gone. Staff are all very friendly.

We enjoyed 2 weeks of sun, sand, golf and relaxation at this beautiful paradise. The warm welcome and assistance from the Level staff Tanya, Frank and Roberto were always appreciated. They ensured our stay was comfortable. The staff at Limoncello for breakfast and lunch were always met with eager smiles from Danay, Oslady, Claudia, Marilyn and Janete. Our favourite dinner restaurant was Arcana where Armando our server always welcomed us with open arms. The pool staff Jorge and Raul always greeted us with extra cushions to ensure our chairs were comfortable. Golf had amazing views and we never had issues with our tee times and we kept our bags at the club house where Ricardo and staff

Whether you're an avid golfer or not, this resort is a guaranteed great vacation in Varadero, Cuba! We had a wide variety of food items to choose from everyday and lots of beverages to wash it all down! There were lots of activities to choose from and great quality entertainment on most days. The service is pretty good and the staff are all very friendly! And of course - The Beaches are Awesome! Can't wait to go backl

After a couple of bad experiences in Cuba, I finally had the pleasure to enjoy one of my best holidays. Everything was above my expectations. Food, entertainment, personal… all very good. The beach was clean and activities were great. Wide variety of drinks. Golf was good as well.

Not only the staff were great, we made friends all over the world! Food was excellent, Beach amazing and guests were so mature and greeting! I'd go back in a heartbeat! The staff remembered our names and took care of us as royalty! I've never been so spoiled in my life. Thank you Melia!

Hotel was better than expected good food and amenities will be back. Proximity to golf course was perfect and grounds were well maintained. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Restaurants were better than expected, good selection and quality.

We stayed in the main hotel (not the Level section) in which the rooms are a bit outdated but the lobby is very nice. The rooms were cleaned every day the bedding and towels replaced. The mini bar was stocked with beer, water and pop daily. We received a nice bottle of Havana Club rum because we were repeated customers which was a nice touch. The food was pretty good for these days Cuba situation (which is a disaster) and the hotel management is making huge efforts to keep the hotel and restaurants at a satisfactory level. The beach was clean and plowed every other day and it had plenty of sun beds. We had a great vacation with not much to complain. The only thing I would suggest is to have better quality of alcohol choices like whiskey, vodka, etc. What you have right now and last year on the same period are the cheapest options (whiskey from India which is pure alcohol with some color). Also the wine options in all the restaurants were of very cheap poor quality. Otherwise everything was fine. Thank you MLA!

Just home from Melia Las Americas. It was not our first time at this resort. Our room was dated, but had a beautiful view, as we had booked, and was spotless everyday. Our housekeeping was awesome!! The food was hot and plentiful and very good. Lots of drinks, and even though they ran out of a couple of mixes, there was always something else to choose from. Staff was very friendly . We probably picked the worst week of the year, as we didn’t get to enjoy the ocean or the sun.. no fault of the hotel. The golf however was great, fun course to play and again the staff was great!! My favorite must have been the early morning coffee at the sports bar..great guys and always lots of smiles and awesome coffee! Hopefully next time we will have the sun and the ocean!!

As with anything in Cuba, lower your expectations and you'll never be disappointed. Golf: most tee boxes weren't in great shape, but you'll find a place to tee it up. Fairways are hard and your ball will roll forever. Greens are overgrown so putting will take some getting used to. Overall, it was amazing to golf in January at a fair price and the guys at the course are great. Tip the guys well and leave the bags at the course, so convenient to walk over in sandals and a beer. Hotel (we stayed in the main building but may try the LEVEL next time, looked nice): Rooms are clean and in decent shape considering the age of the building. Everything works, never ran out of hot water. Restaurants: There weren't any shortages of food and drinks- decent selection. Beach/pool: Absolutely amazing beach, never had to reserve chairs! The pool looked great, but we never spent any time there so can't comment on it. Staff: most provided great service with a smile- those are the ones that we tipped well.

The hotel and surroundings were spectacular !!!I The staff were amazing. The entertainment was solid!! Each day was enjoyed with morning coffee and breakfast and the beach, workout and golf. I continue to recommend the resort to family and friends

Las Americas was amazing! We upgraded to the Level and it was absolutely worth the extra money. The service by the Level staff was impeccable and they were accommodating to all of our needs and requests. Our room was very clean, the food at the a la carte restaurants was very good, and the food from the grill by the swim up bar pool was delicious! There was something for everyone at the buffet. The beach was pristine and water refreshing. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay at Las Americas and we cannot wait to go back!

Hotel is okay, we had an ocean view room in the Level section. Room is very large with two bathrooms. Restaurants were good and the service was excellent. Having a room in the level section permitted us to have the imported alcohol beverages. Beach is clean and pleasant to go walking. Overall the club is good, and only 30 minutes from the airport. The only negative is that the mosquitos were biting you where ever you were sitting.

Lovely resort for adults! The architecture, landscaping and pool areas were beautiful. I loved how many tall palm trees there were, which is not typical for Cuban resorts. They had a newly built deck with modern furniture that had stunning views of the sunset. Beach was beautiful and well kept. I’ve been to 4 other Cuban resorts and I think this one had the best tasting food. The rooms in the main building were older/dated which is what you should expect in Varadero, but if you get an ocean view room, you don’t notice it. The views are stunning and my room was filled with natural light. They have newer built bungalows in the level areas which is about a 3-5 minute walk from the main building.

This is my 3rd trip to this hotel. The golf is getting expensive with paying $44 American per person for a cart. The drinks are not great with the shortagew but we got by. Don’t lose your beach towel! You’ll need to talk to security and waste a whole day over a beach towel. Overall, I like this resort but only book when the price is right.

Very clean staff are so sweet they make your stay very very special I recommend this place to anyone who has never been to Cuba and that wants to experience a beautiful place absolutely wonderful people

I recommend that the staff in dining room divide the space better for easier flow of being attended too. Most of the staff so kind and pleasant with a ready smile. Good quality food? Recommend this resort for sure

We have been going there for many years twice every year, mainly because of the Golf Club , it’s very convenient for the Golfers food is ok nothing special it’s Cuba, we just got used to it, this time it was very disappointing no eggs for the whole week and they had a hard time putting something descend on the buffet, Breakfast was mainly toast butter and jam Lunch always at the Bbq Dinner we were out at Boulavard (about ten minutes from the Hotel ), room was ok staff very friendly bar services were great, hope things will be better soon,

We upgraded this time to the Level. Nice room which was significantly larger than the classic room. It also gave us access to one more dinner and breakfasts and lunches at one of the restaurants. Food was good at all the restaurants, but not quite as good at the buffet, particularly breakfast as it was in the past. Eggs were limited, but still plenty of good food to eat. We love the golf course, especially in March when snowy at home! Greens were very slow, but held well. Fairways were hard and dry. Lots of roll! They were stricter with tee times this year, so book your times online before you go. Definitely hope to go back next year!

The best part about this hotel is the beach, but the rest is disappointing. We were surprised to find that the main pool had been drained before our arrival and wouldn’t be in service throughout our entire trip, we would’ve appreciated being notified as this is their main attraction. Any question you have for the front desk staff is met with an eye roll and a shrug. Even a question as simple as “where is the buffet”. The plugs in our first room didn’t work and the handy man sent up wasn’t able to fix them. It took us 4 trips down to the front desk before Rachel admitted that she had lied about all the rooms being full and could in fact move us to another room. Our new room looked a little bit dated but we were happy with it and the beds were very comfortable. The food was better than we expected and we found the Cuban restaurant by the smaller pool very good, especially for lunch. Overall this was a 2/5 experience.

This was our first trip to Cuba, and it won't be our last. Melia las americas was absolutely beautiful. We stayed in the level bungalows with a beautiful garden view, but of course you could still see the ocean. The room was amazing, 2 floors, 2 balconies, one on each level. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. We had no shortages of anything. They had live entertainment which was great, the band was super. We were there for one week from October 15 to the 22nd, 2023. We did NOT want to leave, Melia las americas is just so relaxing and paying extra for the level is so worth it. Exclusive restaurants and even 2 pools just for level guests. We had asked for extra Cafe pods for our room and never had any problem getting them. Again, the staff was amazing. We stayed in bungalow #6125, it was right beside the level pool/bar. Super easy to get anywhere on the resort from our room. Definitely going to be asking for that same bungalow again, was a perfect spot for us. This will be the only resort we will go to, yes it was that amazing!

Have been here 5 times. This was first time after Covid. Used to love this place but so disappointing this time. Lack of cocktails and champagne. No beer on tap. Staff seem very unhappy. Very unfriendly. Level upgrade rooms no balcony or terrace. Very limited food selection. Food used to be great but not so now. Beach still one of most beautiful we have been to.

We enjoyed our Stay at Melia Las Americas. Food is excellent, service is really good and rooms are very clean. We were upgraded to their Level Area which includes a private pool, beach, bar & breakfast. A la Carte restaurants are excellent and we enjoyed them except for one. For Golfers - this is a great resort walking distance to the golf course. We suggest booking your tee times ahead of time - Golf course has a great layout & has it’s own challenges. All in all we would rate this Hotel 4.5****

Been going there for years, there’s been some great improvements since Covid. Staff is friendly as usual.accommodations very good , only thing is the entertainment is a bit lacking since they close the theater.

My friend and I loved this resort and were very impressed with the hotel and its services. The food was amazing, the pool and beach were stunning and the staff were so lovely and helpful. We felt extremely safe and taken care of the entire 7 days we were there. Huge bonus for the additional a la carte restaurants and water activities that were included. Also, booking excursions was such a smooth process. I 100% reccomend this hotel to everyone who wishes to have a pleasant vacation in Cuba.

Food was amazing, great variety. Staff were making our stay vary enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to get away with golfing options or any activities at the beach. Live performance was on daily bases.

We spent our 52 Wedding Anniversary at this resort, all set up by O’Neal of tripcentral, the Cuba staff at this resort made us feel welcome and at home. Services at this resort are incredible.l would stay here again

Everything was well kept and very clean food was plentiful rooms were big and clean since I had to wait for a room they up graded us to a suite which was great on the part of the resort, just one small complaint the wait for drinks around the area where the entertainment was sometimes was very very slow.

Great time overall. Service was exceptional and staff always helpful. Food was very decent for a Cuba resort, couple of times they ran out of condiments but had them back the following day. Drinks were good, but some of the bars didn't have juices for slushie drinks. No tomato juice was available when we were there

We have been to MLA multiple times and it never disappoints. Exceptional on all levels accommodations (Level) amenities, beach, food/bar service. The people there are amazing, I wish I could name all that made an impact but there are too many to name. Sadly we had a day of rain, no one’s fault but the liveliness of the staff made the day wonderful.

Second time at this resort and enjoyed every minute of it. Booking the Golf Tee times online was perfect and we were out and playing without any issues. We would recommend paying the extra and booking "Level". We had a gorgeous first floor room overlooking the beach and it was literally 5 steps to the beach or the pool. Level Concierge Service: Great service and very attentive - Thank you Laura, David & Yohandra, you were all very helpful Room: HUGE, clean and comfortable. Great water pressure and hot water for your shower. Restaurants: Paying extra for the Level gets you a sit down Breakfast and Lunch at Limencello. Great food and amazing people. Shout out to Osgladys and her manager for the great service and they make the best Margarita Pizza's!!! Buffet: Food was Plentiful and delicious. Thank you for the great service Luis Beach: Amazing! Clean white sand and warm ocean water. Great service at the Level Private Beach with Bar Service to your Palapa. Thank you Guillermo for working your butt off and remembering everyone's order! Thank you to Raoul for the extra padded seats for the lounge chairs. Despite the issues Cuba is having with food shortages which everyone around the world is experiencing, they did a fantastic job with creativity, flavour and choice. We loved it here and will come again.

Very spacious beautiful beach. Adults only, wide range in ages. Hotel was very clean with clean washrooms. Hotel is right at the Golf Course with green fees included. Cart is extra, For $5 you can store your clubs at the pro shop for the week. Also adjacent to the hotel is a shopping mall and the Xanadu Mansion. Food was good. 4 dinner a la cartes(international,Asian,Italian, BBQ/Cuban), 1 buffet, 1 24 hour snack bar. Buffet had a fresh cooked spaghetti station(choose your ingredients and sauces) and a fresh fry chef(pork,beef,chicken,fish, shellfish, shrimp), also was a carvery(with either 1 of pork,chicken or fish). There was plenty of variety, but bring your own spices/hot sauce if you need. We did the Level room upgrade which gets you a private beach section, private pool with swim up bar, a very large(600+sqft) modern styled room, a concierge office that eagerly will help you with whatever you need onsite or offsite, and a dedicated a la carte for breakfast and lunch. Room had patio access off both the bedroom and living room and a large glass 2 entrance shower. Our room had one bathroom but some people got two bathrooms in their room. Hotel itself has a very grand spacious lobby, loads of design features(someone gave the architect free rein), a large patio off of the lobby has a stunning elevated view of the ocean and is where there is evening entertainment. A few nights a week there are beach parties or live entertainment on the beach. Staff were very friendly. Hotel is a $10U.S. Cab to centre of Varadero(about 8minutes i think) or there is a shuttle bus that goes to all the hotels, $5 for the whole day. $15cdn got us to Varadero in a 1950’s Chevy convertible. Hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. This is one of the pricier hotels in Varadero, if you are looking at it I’d suggest going all in and getting the Level upgrade it is worth it.

Hotel had beautiful grounds , friendly helpful staff, and lovely rooms . We stayed at the level area. Food was good. The beach and ocean were amazing . Pools were very well kept . We definitely will come back again.

It was our first time in Melia Las Americas, but not the first time in Cuba. Hotel and staff are amazing. You can not ask for anything better. We scertainly hope we will be able to return to Las Americas next year again

It was very clean, the rooms were great, the beach was fantastic, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the golf course was great to play, they can certainly use more newer golf carts, the service in the buffet and specialty restaurants were great but the food was just so so.

Excellent resort. The building show no sign of aging and we’re Very clean. Beach well what can I say a 10. We were 4 guys on a golf trip so we were upgraded to a multi room 2.5 bath hacienda. It was a 5 star accommodations so a very nice treat. Food was ok and maybe better than other resorts. Very repetitive though. Missing a lot of condiments like ketchup,onions. Staff are all amazing and in general Cubans are amazing and very appreciative.

We have been to this resort 2 years in a row so far. The food is good (and not just Cuba good), the beach of course is beautiful, and the staff are amazing! Especially Jorge Vizcaíno at the pool bar in The Level. We stayed in The Level both times. The rooms are clean, large and modern.

This lobby is one of the most impressive I have experienced staying at an all inclusive Its big and clean and had many options for places to sit and relax or take a nap! I absolutely loved it! The beach was fantastic and it's everything Varadero beaches promised! Most days, the water was calm and blue and easy to swim. The resort is never short on chairs or shaded areas at the beach The staff was also pretty good, including Luis, Yania and Tamara!

Ive been at Las Americas before Covid 3 years ago and loved it then. There were 5 of us ladies, 2 in one room and 3 in another. I found the food acceptable, given the circumstances in Cuba at the present time. The grounds are beautiful, the beach amazing, and the staff at Las Americas very helpful and accommodating. I have no complaints, our rooms were very clean and there was a big bottle of fresh water every day .. The recreation team are amazing, Jordy, Ankis, Eteanne, kept us bush with Aqua Arobics and Dance lessons each day

This hotel was very comfortable, well laid out, well kept. The public areas were always tidy, clean and attractive. We upgraded to LEVEL area which was well worth the extra cost. The "Limoncello" restaurant in this area was clean, well staffed with excellent menus to choose from. The only draw back was the elevated platform in the middle which was a stumbling block for quite a few customers. The other restaurants were also well stocked with very good food. Our rooms were always kept clean and well stocked. The loudness of music in many areas was too loud for our age group!

Every aspect of the hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. We were happy with the food and the specialty restaurants were a nice addition to our stay. Lots of beach chairs at the beach and the pool at any time of day. We have no complaints or suggestions to make our vacation better.

The Melia Las Americas is a special kind of place. It has been around a while (around 30 years) so it has seen better days. That said there are many reasons to overlook the surface wear and consider the experiences this hotel offers. Here are the top reasons we love this place: Golf; Beach; Entertainment; Heart. The hotel is right next to the Varadero Golf Club - and under most circumstances, for those staying at the Las Americas, green fees are included. Push carts or riding carts cost extra (11 USD for push carts, and maximum cost 44$ USD per player for the new riding carts). If you bring your clubs, they can be stored at the golf shop for about 5$ USD for the week. The course is 18 holes, championship style, and a whole lot of fun to play. But don't expect pristine bunkers or bent grass greens. The course dates back to pre-revolutionary times and is very mature with several holes having spectacular views of the ocean. Pace of play is great (~4 hr playing time typically) so an early start can get you back at the beach by 11 or 12. Even with an afternoon arrival at the beach, there are plenty of lounge chairs and shade if you want it. The beach for this property is incredible and might well be the widest and longest on the peninsula. I can't say enough about how great the sand is, and how blue the water. The swimming pools are beautiful, well kept and clean. Regarding entertainment - there are the typical daytime events that get people moving out of their chairs. There are also catamaran rides and short snorkeling tours of the reef nearby (for $). The best thing about the hotel though is the entertainment each evening - every night there was a different artist playing an instrument or singing on the patio overlooking the grounds and beach. Just enormously enjoyable to have a drink and listen to the musicians invited to play for us before or after dinner - all very talented and professional. Finally, the people who work at the Las Americas: they are the best, and by nature very honest and caring about taking care of you during your stay at the hotel. Now here are some more nuanced comments - the rooms in the older part of the hotel are a bit worn. However, the showers are very good, with plenty of hot water and modern fixtures. The main building has the best views of the water and sunsets and is closest to the golf course, the dining rooms and bars. The newer part (The Level) is a quieter section of the resort, has large suites, huge bathrooms and living quarters, but these have mostly garden views. I should mention here that the resort is for adults only. The age range among guests is very broad - no single age group was left out or predominated. Regarding the food, there is a wide variety in the buffet hall, but 'foodies' won't be happy as Cuban food tends to be light on the spices - so maybe bring your Frank's hot sauce and pepper flakes in your luggage if 'heat' is important to you. Regarding alcohol, beer and rum are probably the best options - no off the shelf premium alcohol at the bars. In conclusion, although there are rough edges and small drawbacks, in my opinion, this resort shows great spirit and dedication to come back to life after the pandemic. I hope to return soon, if I can. Hasta luego, Melia Las Americas. PS I need to mention the quirky monetary situation in Cuba. Officially, you can buy Cuban pesos (CUP) at any bank, hotel or 'CADECA'; however you can't sell back unused Cuban pesos when you leave. So the best choice is to bring cash (eg USD, CDN, Euro) and exchange it 20$ at a time at the hotel 'CADECA' (currently, $20 USD = ~2200 CUP; $20 CDN =~ 1700 CUP). Tips (range from 100-500CUP depending on service) are highly welcome and appreciated. However, one should never, ever tip in foreign coin. The people cannot do anything with a toonie or loonie or other foreign coin as the banks in Cuba won't accept it for deposit nor can it be used to buy or trade in the street.

Beautiful resort, wonderful grounds. Exceptionally well trained staff, very friendly, always smiling and ready to help. The buffet has a tight schedule and understaff. The food would be very good for a ticket price of $1000 per person. We paid $2500 per person and the expectations were higher. There is not enough entertainment for rainy days. We got 4 rainy, cold days and it was very boring. I got very sick with a respiratory virus the first day back in Canada. I don't know if I got the virus from the resort or from the plane/airport. Our cellphones didn't work the last 2 days of our vacation -there was internet in the rooms, only in the lobby -they said that its a problem many customers have with the I phones. Overall was not a good vacation and we would not recommend this resort for the price we paid.

The level bungalow and all amenities were amazing. The beach and seating are spectacular. The meals were wonderful and drinks a plenty. Had a great excursion in a classic car to Havana. Loved the Beatles bar in Varadero. Meals in town were limited. Loved the entertainment at the resort in the evenings. Cannot wait to return.

The resort is ok, not worth 2k per person when you can get so much more in DR & Mexico for the same price. They lacked fruit, vegetables and mixes for most booze. Do not go until the figure out the golf cart/maintenance situation. A group of 48 golfers will not be back (not my group). Cuba is taken advantage of their loyal vacationers and offering little in return.

Good resort, I would like to see improvements in the rooms, when I pre-requested a room with a view and a king size bed the hotel staff said they would change rooms everyday at 3pm for four straight days. This to me was not acceptable. The al a carte restaurants were lacking for a five star there was only three choices and I found they served the same food found in the buffets.

We love this resort! The people make this place special. All so kind and helpful. The golf / beach combination is amazing. The beach is large with many chairs. The food is fantastic for Cuba and their limited resources. We can’t say enough great things about this place!

Staff was so friendly. Clean resort and the best was the snorkeling on the reef. Truly great vacation!! The food was okay. You have to do the out restaurants in the resort to get more variety of food. Overall I recommend this resort

Assessing whether to ever go back. Had to move rooms (not till the next day) as the room overlooked a balcony and nothing else. WiFi never ever worked in either room but only in the lobby. Went for the golf vacation and as it turned out the golf carts were burned in a maintenance shack fire. The first day we had to carry our bags. Following days the resort managed to borrow carts but would only give one cart for each foursome…so two had to walk. The 3rd day our cart actually caught fire. Not a great experience. The staff, I should note, are very friendly.

This hotel is struggling to recover from the pandemic. This is my second trip here (once before the pandemic) and both times are very different in the experience. Most of the staff are wonderful but some are rude. They lack training. The food was very repititious in the buffet. The Japanese restaurant is good but if you are on a salt reduced diet be careful. The beach and pool are quite good but the pool lacked regular cleaning to remove the sand and other debris that collected day. The worst part of the trip is my room had bedbugs and I had a severe reaction to their bites (I am quite allergic to them). Upon complaint Hotel Mgmt advised they were sending someone to inspect the room. Two cleaning staff showed up and simply changed the bedding and left. They did not inspect for bedbugs at all. All in all the trip was survivable but for the money paid I expect better… even in Cuba.

It has been at least six years since we stayed at the Melia Las Americas. This fine resort has been nothing but highly professional and helpful to its customers. They even have set up a v.i.p. lounge in which a photo of the frequent patrons is presented on one of the walls. We have, over the course of fourty years, stayed in all of the different rooms. It was heart warming upon arrival to see the staff, who immediately recognized us and set us up in an upgraded room with no charge.This resort is and will always be our home away from home.

Lets start with the good! The beach and water is one of the best cleanest turquoise kind of water you can find on the earth. The weather is unbelievably hot and humid at this time of the year so if your looking for a place to tan well and enjoy hot weather Varadero and this hotel is for you. The people across Cuba are the friendliest and safest people you can meet on earth, no joke! its safe!!! for woman, children or men. The food is great but it all depends on taste preference so this opinion can vary a lot. The food is cheap if you go off the hotel strip and take a day trip to downtown Varadero and you can have a great family time. The bad for Melia La America There is always a shortage of entertainment, at night there is no investment to enjoy a good time. They dont have enough servers to remotely take care of guests when everyone comes into the main place in the middle of the hotel The hotel lacks alot of basic things to the average north american, butter is scarce in the morning, room service takes forever since they have minimal staff, I found staff swimming in the pools with thier dirty cloths thinking no one was watching. Overall service is gone wayyyyyy down on this hotel in the past 4yrs. Its barely a 3 star in my opinion. This hotel used to be great, but quality of food, service, entertainment and lack of food choices are the worst its ever been. Sorry I would totally recommend anyone to not go to this hotel. it no longer brings value for your money.

There were hammocks and covered beds by the pool which were very nice to chill out. The food was better than most hotels in Cuba, but that isn't saying much.The vast majority of the guests were over 60 couples from Ontario and bed time was 11pm for the vast majority. Very quiet resort, if you want some night life this is not the place to be. The bar food is terrible, so if you arrive late, a cardboard ham sandwich is your only option.

This was my 6th time to the resort. Come for one specific reason, to golf. Golf facilities and staff are great, usually play up to 2 rounds per day. Food services are very good, given the circumstances. Hotel has great processes in place to ensure that guest are protected as they can be against COVID-19. Never felt at risk at any point in time while at the facilities. Hotel rooms a little bit dated but always clean, staff keeps them in immaculate condition. Beach is very nice, always had chairs and umbrella coverings available. Sports and entertainment always on the go, you can participate or not. Although I come for golfing, would also recommend for those non-golfers. Lots to do or not depending on your own agenda. Looking forward to coming back in November.

We were very impressed as to how the hotel handled covid. Masks were mandatory when being served at the buffet. They have added extra staff to accommodate this new process. Everything ran smoothly and wait time was minimal. We did not experience any shortages as we had heard about at other resorts. The hotel management has done an excellent job to keep things running smoothly. The evening entertainment of various different musicians was a nice break from the regular entertainment that you find in other resorts. The beach is very well groomed with many palapas for shade. There was no need to rush down early in the morning to secure a spot as is the case in many other resorts. Golf was very good, renting clubs and a cart is 63 US.

We are returnees for I think the twelved time. As always, there is something that's going to go wrong, I had to pay again for my clubs because I could not find my receipt. So I got it over with. There was a lot of people that had not filled out their Cuban entry form, best to have everything done Toronto airport was not very busy and no issues there other then the Tim Hortons line up !! Flight was good. Everybody was wearing mask Varadero aiport was not busy and went through without issues, was glad my clubs got there this time, we were there in November and our clubs got there on 4th day !! Mask were worn till we got outside, there was a cooler beer vender in parking lot unlike November Checking in was a breeze, we know a lot of the staff and got our rooms right away There is a serious shortage of beers in stores and at the resort, beers on the golf course are $5.50 us compared to $2.00 no so long ago !! The golf course is in very good shape and the staff are very helpful as usual The people of Cuba are in need of medical supplies & every day items that we take for granted, that they cannot buy at this time, we all brought goods on our trips to help them out All in all, we had a great time again, lots of laughs, in fact I am returning April 3rd to do it again with some other friends!!! Cheers!!

While the resort itself was beautiful and clean, food plentiful and drinks very good I could not get past the amount of people at this resort chain smoking. Being a lung cancer survivor two years now I could not spend any time on the Terrance as my lungs could not handle the smoke. One evening I was only person without a cigarette out of about 50. No matter where I went on the grounds, whether it be the beach, pool,, everyone around me smoked. I do know from experience other resorts in Varadero have designated smoking areas, both on beach and bar areas. The Melia las Americas was a free for all smoking resort. For that reason, I will not be returning to MLA.

The resort was beautiful! Beach beautiful! Staff amazing . Food was good considering the shortage issues they are having . No complaints! Elsy the recreation lady was an amazing beautiful person -Raoul at lobby bar was a treat - great guy - all staff were wonderful- beds could be more comfortable- that would be my only suggestion. We had a great vacation and would go back in a heart beat !

The hotel is old but very well kept with nice groomed grounds and the beach is best in class. The food was excellent for Cuba standard at all the a la carte restaurants and at the buffet. Not as many selections like in the past years but considering Covid times we were very pleased and we always found something good to eat. The food at the BBQ restaurant by the pool was up our alley! People were very nice and worked hard to please us. Thank you! The room was cleaned daily The only thing I did not like was that at the lobby bar there were certain drinks that were displayed but not served except if you were part of the Level. I did not see this anywhere else. Usually The Level or Diamond Club, etc at other resorts have separate bars with more expensive drinks. One special thank you for Julio the entertainer who worked tirelessly to make sure people had fun around the lobby bar and outside patio. When Julio had a day off was a boring night! Thank you!

Overall I was pleased with this resort, at this time time there were a lot of shortages mostly due because of covid. However the staff did the best . The only complaint I would have is with the baroque area by the swimming pool, the first try I had to wait 2.5 hours to eat a meal the second try and they served me raw pork and the wait staff were very upset when I sent it back so avoid this restaurant and your time at this hotel will very good.

The hotel was as we expected. This was our fourth time and we like the facility and the golf. The Level does provide a little more convenience. My wife and son were with me and we had a suit which included a bed for my son in the living area. Overall it is what we expected. Food is typical of Cuba and lacks flavour. But we found it to be acceptable.

Hotel is great - we upgraded to the Level and were really glad we did. The bungalows were spacious and well maintained. Our housekeeper Barby did an exceptional job. We really enjoyed breakfast and lunch at Limoncello - the al la Carte's were good as well. A little disappointed with the main buffet, didn't seem to have the same great selection as 2 years ago. Bartenders were great at the level - Raul and Jorge were amazing. Pool was a little on the cold side. Service on the beach was good. All the staff were wearing masks all the time. Social distancing and covid protocols were being followed too - so it felt quite safe even during these times. We did not golf - although 3 days of golf are included when you stay at this resort. Overall a great vacation!

I cannot say enough about this beautiful place. I’ve now been 8 times and will be making it 9 shortly. The staff is so kind and thoughtful. The grounds are beautiful. The hotel is fantastic and the food is perfect Having the golf course a hop skip and a jump away definitely helps too. This year it was great to meet a few more coupes who have frequented this resort 23 and 40 times I believe that says enough. A big thanks to Wendy van zandwyk from trip central for her help again

Absolutely beautiful grounds, well kept. Beach was beautiful and seaweed free. Golf course is kept well as well. Outdated rooms and lobby furniture. Good food esp at the a la carte. The international was our favourite. Service was amazing.

grounds were neat and well kept; proximity to the golf course was fantastic; the room served its purpose, nothing fancy but was sufficient for its needs: beds, bathroom, a safe, closet, nice view of lake and golf course from balcony and was cleaned nicely each day. my largest complaint is the food in the buffet, we went to Havana for a day and the food we ate was fantastic! was authentic and tasty and gave us no issues whatsoever. so the question is, why doesn't the resort serve authentic Cuban food rather than try to cater to American/Canadian food items? we visited Cuba to view Cuban culture and eat Cuban food, not for their attempt to recreate McDonald's type food. as well the service while not totally terrible it was the indifference shown when they ran out of certain types of beer and drink mixes, which of course should not happen. overall we were satisfied with our visit but at times were disappointed over certain issues which are completely avoidable.

Booked the level room and was huge compared to other resorts. Very friendly staff, amazing beach and enjoyed the food. Already considering our next vacation there. Oh did I mention that golf was included!

Our stay wa amazing. I loved this resort, the service we received was so great. We had beautiful rooms in the bungalows but asked to be closer to the main hotel for mobility reasons and were accommodated right away. We never had a bad meal and loved the 2 a la carte restaurants we went to, our favorite was the grill. Pools are amazing, the one near the bungalow was closed for renovations and only opened up or last day there but the were never any issues with crowding at the other 2 pools, likely due to the fabulous long, deep, beautiful sandy beach at this resort with tons of chairs and shade. Golf course was beautiful, greens can be a little rough but totally worth it when you're teeing off with the ocean right there. Already planning to go back to this hotel. Note to sunwing, they misplaced my luggage but as I told the sunwing rep. Stuff happens and it's all about how it's handled and they are great about it.

The hotel is wonderful. The food is increatable good. The staff was superb. The beach and pool are out standing. We are planning to go back next year. The golf course was very good with some good challenge.

Loved the beaches, the resort and Varadero in general. excellent staff, food was decent...very scenic. live music was amazing and throughout the day. activities: beach volleyball a highlight main pool and swim up bar closed for maintenance beds - not too comfortable - only complaint - but most of the time spent at the beach - so not a big concern

Amazing adults only resort. Even though they were completely full didn’t feel like it. Always could find a lounger at the beach. Food was great. Always could find something we enjoyed. We had an amazing corner suite with ocean view. The lobby bar was the best place for drinks. The beach was beautiful!!

I found this resort very clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. I had a standard room and it was much larger than anticipated. The beach was the highlight, it was clean and there was never a problem getting a lounge chair. The only negative things would be I had trouble getting a reservation in a few of the restaurants at the earlier time I was looking for. I ate at the buffet most the time, and there was always something for someone and a good variety. The desserts could have been changed out a bit more, for example, have pies or cakes. Overall, if you are looking for a high-end resort and a relaxing time, this would be the perfect place. The majority of the guests were on the older side, which could be because it is an 'Adults Only' resort and geared to golfers.

All staff very kind and friendly. Totally recommend this place. Food was also great. We had 7 ala cart restaurant settings during our 10 day stay, with the availability to do beach BBQ for lunch and full buffets for breakfast. This was our 3rd trip and plan to go again.

First time in Cuba and my friends have been there before. Entertainment, people and food was good. Service exceptional! My only recommendation is to have larger patio outside of lobby. It was normally full at night because of wonderful violinists that would play. Would be great if more outdoor night time seating in general. But otherwise, I'd go back again, for sure!

We just returned from a wonderful week at Melia Las Americas Varadero. The people, location, beach, pools, entertainment & food were all full of awesomeness! To be able to walk to the golf course and the DuPont Mansion were an added bonus. We were impressed to meet so many vacationers who return year after year & I think we will be back as well. We didn’t upgrade to The Level and were pleased with our room...the cleaning staff did a great job & our fridge was restocked daily. This resort is small and everything was so easy...from booking the ala cartes, the tee times, beach towel exchange and each & every meal at the buffet or visit to the bar. A real pleasure 😎
