As usual once again Ali did not disappoint all suggestions and tips were right on point. We knew everything in mind before going and as expected nothing went wrong. The bungalow at Sol Palmera was ideal for our big family of 5. Will definitely come again the beach was beautiful.

For a resort in Cuba, I would rate this resort, a 9/10. I have stayed in Cayo Coco and Holguin before and this hotel definitely had the best rooms. The water pressure was great and the room was made up every day and was kept very clean by the exceptional maid service. There is a lovely coffee bar, an ice cream bar near the beach, a larger bar near the beach and then a small bar very close to the beach plus a lovely bar inside. The snack bar had good food, including hamburgers, fries and pizza. The buffet was completely adequate. The Cuban people give the very best that they have to tourists. There were no shortages. There were eggs, fruit, and bread everyday. The pizza was delicious and the pasta station was great. The entertainment is very lively and generous. There are many lovely areas to sit both inside and out while you are relaxing and enjoying time with your fellow travelers. The beach is spectacular. The water was warm and clear with ocean breezes creating waves. We felt very safe, knowing there was a lifeguard who was monitoring. There were fun activities on the beach as well, including stretching in the water and Zumba. I am not a drinker, but the others in my group enjoyed the bars and found the bartenders to be very friendly and accommodating. The nonalcoholic piña coladas were awesome. We had a spectacular holiday over Christmas and made many memories. We also did a day trip to Havana which I would highly recommend.

Very good resort. Clean, and good service throughout. They try so hard with what they have to work with. Mostly powdered juices for mix at bars but the beer is always nice and cold and plentiful and always had red wine at the buffet. Lots of fresh food choices as well. I'm going back someday ?

Very nice hotel our room was updated. Music was a bit loud at times. Beach was very nice didn’t have to get up early to get a chair which was nice. Food was okay the people were so nice and welcoming. The new beach bar was awesome.

My fourth visit this year. 13th visit with a total of 15 weeks over the years. Always welcomed by the staff that treat us as family. Many have invited us into their homes to meet their families. Mario will welcome you with his huge smile and assist with your luggage. Odarmis at reservation’s is a big part of family, even came to Canada to visit us. She makes sure that we have everything to make our stay the best. Caridad and Julio have also invited us to visit their family and entertain us away from the hotel.. They go out of their way to always make sure we have everything we need. They make the best drinks, pina colado’s.Make sure you have Nivaldo at the coffee bar make you the best cappuccino or Frappuccino. Idelmis and Asear, Vladimir along with many others are always happy to make your time in the buffet the best. The food in the buffet is plentiful with a wide variety. You’ll never go hungry even if you’re a picky eater. The alacarts are a great change. My favourites are the Latino or Tex Mex where you get to enjoy the service of Yahimy. She and her staff also go out of their way to make sure you a fantastic experience. The pool is a great place to relax and enjoy the activities provided by Mariam, Reneil, and Isaac throughout the day. The beach is one of the best and longest. Activities are also ongoing. There is evening entertainment in the lobby and also nightly entertainment to enjoy. Our favourite accommodations are in the bungalows because we prefer the feel of home and have a morning or evening coffee on our patio. This hotel is very clean and consistent with food and drinks. Very few shortages. This should be your first and only choice to stay.

We traveled as a group of 12 family and friends. We had the perfect time! The staff are so friendly and amazing servers. Food was fantastic! So many choices of places and good to eat. The beach is breathtaking. The pool is beautiful too. Every person in our group had the best time! Thanks again everybody! We will be back!

Just returned from my 3rd trip to my second home, Sol Palmeras. As always a pleasure to return. Staff was welcoming when checking in. Lobby had more areas to relax while enjoying entertainment in the evening. Amazing various singers and musicians. Night time shows have been refreshed and also amazing. You can see the dedication by the performers. Enjoyed daytime entertainment at the beach and at the pool. Stayed in the bungalows as usual and everything was clean and bed’s comfortable. The grounds are constantly maintained and the new bar area off of the beach was a great addition. Great place to have a drink in the evening and converse with friends. Buffet had various options during all meals. Chicken, beef and various seafood available. Fabulous soups available each day. Enjoyed a lunch at the snack bar, chicken sandwich with fries. Ala-cart Chinese and Tex Mex were also enjoyed. Only attended those two as we were happy with the buffet and didn’t want to have to go for dinner at a certain time as we were enjoying ourselves at the pool and beach. For myself the best part was seeing and spending time together with all of great friends (family) made with the staff throughout the year. ( Odarmis, Mario, Caridad, Julio, yahimy, Idelmis and many more) I surprised them with this visit, as I usually don’t come there in September. All showed me that the love we have is both ways. Can’t wait to return in November!

This is our 2nd visit to Sol in 6 months and it won’t be our last. We found the resort to be great. The buffet and ala carte are good and plenty of good food. It’s clean and the rooms are spacious and updated. All the staff are wonderful and always ready to help if needed. The beach is always clean and plenty of loungers for everyone. The 2 pools are lovely as well, also a kiddie pool. There is a play area for the kids and it’s great too. If you enjoy relaxing there are alot of different areas inside and outside to do this. If you enjoy ice coffee by all means visit the coffee bar and they will make you a really tasty one. We have made friends with staff and to us they are family. I highly recommend this resort and you will be happy you did.

Beautiful resort . The room was comfortable and clean. Food was very good and lots of variety. The grounds were well taken care of. Beach was excellent but didn’t care for the pool, no swim up bar. The Asian restaurant was great!

I loved my stay at this resort, my children lilked it a lot. The picky eater in the family didn't think there was much to eat, but I ate to my satisfaction every meal. BEach is beatiful, bungalows were very clean. Some bungalows are in the far back and you will HAVE to walk to go eat. They don't provide shuttle transportation except for the suitcases on the first and last days. We were in the number 535 and 534 bungalows and we asked to be moved closer which we were the last two days. I recommand you feel at ease with the travel agent you are assigned. At first, I wasn't feeling comfortable with mine and I didn't listen to my gut reaction and regret it. I lost time and energy undoing some mistakes that were made by her and communication was not good. I should have changed when it was time, I should have insisted that I wanted a different travel agent. And please, be aware that if you travel to Cuba, you won't be able to do check-in on the app for the flight back to Canada. I was never told and lost time and energy trying to figure out why the app didn't work... Thinking it was my fault.

The ocean was very beautiful landscape was very nice. The only thing I can say is the food. My kids didn't eat much there not much variety. We stayed at the bungalow, which was a little far from the hotel so walking distance from front and back of the hotel was a little bit of a hassle. I wish we were scheduled inside the hotel but they didn't have enough room for beds for two adults and two children. I find the staff for nice, but sometimes they just did not smile as much. It's not as the same service as you would get before it's like they were forced to work there.Overall, the resort was nice just the bungalows the walking back-and-forth for a little bit of a struggle.

This was my 8th visit there, and it never fails to impress. There is always something better to keep me coming back. The grounds are huge, and the resort is beautiful. The facilities, unlike just about any other hotel, are always being kept up to date and renovated. Although the hotel is 35 years old, you would never know it. The staff is unprecedented with its attention to the customers. There are still quite a few “founders” working there (staff that has been there from day one!) Since my 2nd visit, when the staff recognized me and welcomed me back, this has become my vacation home. It would be crazy to try anywhere else when in Varadero.

Sol Palmeras is an amazing resort. This is my second home, visit 3 times a year. I’ve lost count of how many years I’ve been coming here. Consistently for at least the last 5 years.Family and friends have joined me on many trips here and are now repeat guests also. The staff have become family to us, Odarmis, Caridad, Idelmis and Yahimy to name a few. They have all welcomed us into their lives outside of the resort and love getting to be a part of their families. We love staying in the bungalows, as they feel more like our little homes. Large living room, updated bathrooms and good sized bedroom. Wifi does work in the bungalows. And you can sit on your porch enjoying your morning coffee. The beach is the best and the longest we’ve seen. Lots of activities offered throughout the day on the beach. There is two pools that also offer activities during the day. The buffet has quite a variety offered and the staff are very friendly and attentive. Ala-carts very with the time of the year. Usually at least three options to choose from. Italian, Chinese, Latin, International, Tex Mex. My favourite is usually the Latin. This is great for couples, families or young adults. There’s something for everyone. If you’re coming from Canada please don’t tip with loonies or toonies as the staff needs to exchange them into bills from guests. The banks do not accept the coins. Bring $5 bills or tip with USD $1’s. Remember that the hotels need tourists to continue to visit the resort and that electricity isn’t an issue. Generators are used if there is any issues with their electricity. Rotating blackouts don’t affect Varadero as they have their own substations. Hope this review helps to clarify any confusion when deciding on which hotel to choice. Sol Palmeras should be the choice! Can’t wait to be back in November!

We had an amazing vacation at Sol Palmaras. From the moment we arrived to when we checked out this hotel exceeded all our expectations. The hotel is gorgeous and the entire complex is kept clean by hardworking staff. We had an updated room and it was great, very clean and well decorated. And had 110v plugs so we didn’t need to use our adapters. We are pool people so we spend most of our time there, there was lots of loungers and shade around the pool. We did go down to beach a few times and it was probably one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever seen. The service was amazing, the staff is friendly and helpful and they always greeted us with a smile. The food was all around probably the best we’ve had in Cuba, a lot of choices in the buffet, we had no problem finding something to eat. We ate at 2 a la cartes (Chinese & Mexican) and they were both really good, so definitely try them if you go. Two things we recommend doing while there is visiting the city of Varadero and going on the excursion that takes you to 2 caves, the first one you get to explore an underground cave and the second is a swimming cave. We had such a good time on this excursion and will never forget it. We definitely recommend this resort and when we go back to Varadero we will be staying here.

This resort has a beautiful beach with plenty of palapas and loungers to sit, relax and look out at the stunning turquoise water. With lots of vegetation, it has a jungle feel. Two pools with a central bar facility. No swim up bar, however, so you'll need to get out of the pool to get your drinks. BBQ for lunchtime burgers and sausages, not at the beach but close by. Buffet is large with excellent variety. No shortages noted at all during our stay. Bungalow decor is dated but they do provide more space than the hotel rooms. However, be prepared to walk further to access the pools and buffet, as these bungalows are spread out over a large area. There appeared to be a shuttle of some description but it was apparently out of service during my stay. There is one main bar upstairs on the lobby level and a great coffee bar and this makes it a congested area at times. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back. No problems encountered with either mosquitoes or sand fleas, so that is a win, 100%.

The positives were: The staff were extremely friendly and always happy, Lobby was beautiful, The pools very clean, The dining room had lots of food and a really good variety. Rooms were very good, bed very comfortable....The only negatives were the bathrooms needed updating, no hot water most days and the internet was sporadic.

We love Sol Palmeras! This was our 17th visit there and it's like being with family and friends, which is why we keep returning. The premises keep getting better and better. All of the guest rooms in the main hotel have been completed renovated. Constant improvements to the grounds keep it modern. A new bar is currently being built, scheduled to be completed later this year, and is going to be awesome. A new children's play area is nearly completed. The pool areas and pools are constantly being kept clean. The spectacular beach is not to be missed. There are several wonderful places to eat with very varied nd delicious choices of foods. All locations are kept very clean and pleasant. But, above all, the staff are all top notch! Friendly, professional, conscientious, knowledgeable and very kind. We had the honour of being married at Sol Palmeras several years ago and, because we still love it so much there, continue to return every year to celebrate our anniversary.

The Hotel has done a lot of upgrades over the last 4 years. All the rooms have been updated and are very nice. The food was varied and plentiful. The grounds and beach was wonderful. The staff is excellent

We were extremely pleased with our stay at Sol Palmeras. From check in to check out we dealt with friendly and helpful staff. There were always lots of options to choose from for dining, bearing in mind that Cuba has had it's share of difficulties. We stayed in one of the bungalows which was clean, spacious and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property as a vacation choice.

Great hotel. The best beach I have seen. Our room had just been renovated and had great A/C. The water pressure was really good. The only things I missed was a swim up bar and a bar near the beach.

We arrived before check in so were not able to access our room but the staff were able to store our things. Everything is very close and we could easily walk to pool, beach, shops and restaurants. Staff were amazing and a huge shout out to Osiris the Customer Service Manager and Beatrice at the mojioto bar who are the BEST. You have to be early to the pool for a chair. A few days the pool could have been cleaned but water was clear and a great temp. A nice balance of quiet and activities happening. Beach is stunning but 6 days of our stay we couldn't go in ocean due to waves. Nothing the resort can do about that. Better to be safe. Very relaxing sitting in sun listening to waves. No bar on beach but very close by. I think they were building something. Buffet had lots of options. A la Cartes were top notch...and hot! Have to book early ( before 10am) Entertainment was every night and very enjoyable. Disco was equally fun and open 11-1. Rooms were clean and comfortable and we never went without hot water, ac, bottled water, etc. Everything about Sol Palmeras was incredible and we will be back...as our many others that we met there who are return guests. This place is a gem ?

Just got back from 7 days at Sol Palmeras. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Resort was safe, clean, had great food choices at buffet, a la Carte’s were fantastic! Hard working staff always with a smile and Ola! Shout out to Osiris and Maria- great customer service- our rooms were spectacular! The food selection was vast and delicious. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was kept clean. We had a wonderful week here. I would definitely recommend this as a high value vacation choice to anyone wishing to enjoy some time in Cuba.

First week of Feb 2025 at Sol Palmeras varadero Perfect trip it was for us and my son's family.We were in 2 bungalows ready on arrival 3 hours before check in. So it really start well. Our bungalow was perfect.Large living room with a separate bedroom and big washroom.Clean and no bugs. Strong hot shower.Two working air conditioning. In reviews people do no mention much about the bungalows but they are larger and much interesting than rooms at the hotel.But you have too walk much more.Our was at the end of the resort which is about 7 to 10 minutes walk to the main hotel and that is why we did not gain weight. Food was good and a lot of diversity. Sunwing flight was perfect and on time. Trip central did a good job like usual.I did book many trips with tripcentral.ca on line without talking to anyone and everything was perfect.(i am not working for them) That beach at Sol Palmeras is fantastic. A few things were not right but it is the nature of travel. Remember to lower expectations because Cuba is not Aruba or Mexico. Hope everybody will have the same experience Dan

Hotel grounds were beautiful and very clean! For an older resort, we were very pleased!!! The staff at the buffet were always friendly and accommodating! The beach was absolutely stunning!!!!!!!!!!!

We went from January 14-21. This review is for those who have never been and have read reviews and are on the fence as well as heard stories from friends and family. Here is my honest review and I hope it is helpful. Why would we book Cuba? For the beach of course! We have travelled in the last couple years to Riviera Nayarit, Cancun, and the Dominican (PP side) and crave a beach and ocean that is clean and clear and boy did we get one. This beach was unreal. Calm waters, teal blue and crystal clear. We had two glorious days of green flag calm days and 1 yellow flag day where we got to enjoy the waves. Clean water without floating trash or tons of weeds. There are free rentals of the pedal boat to enjoy which we took out twice! Never had to worry about saving spots as they were half capacity when we were there so tons of seating available. The bugs do bite and we did bring bug spray but at night they still get you. I have about 11 bites and they are really itchy so bring after bite as well! The rooms were nice. Now this is not a super fancy hotel and the "renovations" of fresh paint are not done by a professional painter as the paint splatter was all over the wall and on the floor but I am not visiting to sit in my room and look at the paint job. Because my kids are 13 and 14 they placed them in a room beside us. My teens loved not sharing a room with us. The wifi was decent (it would kick you off after an amount of time as it is a timed session, easy enough to reconnect) plus we had a land line phone to stay connected with them next door if we couldn't trust our internet connection. The power/lights will work when you put your key card into a slot by the main switch. (trying to save you time as I ran around trying to figure out why the lights were not on lol) We were on the main floor with a pool view (Superior Rooms 1066 and 1065). The pool view was a walk out which I loved as we could sit by the pool and easily run to our room and back without going through the hotel hallways or using stairs or elevators. My husband and I had a room with king size bed and my kids had their own room beside us with 2 twins. My favorite part of these rooms was the dehumidifier. Yes our rooms came each equipped with a dehumidifier. If you have ever vacationed before in tropical humid destination, you know that the mildew smell can wallow in a room. These little units filled up fast but my vitamins stayed dry and no mildew odor! The AC unit was clean and not filled with gross dirt and dust from neglect. The rooms also came with umbrellas! on the rainy day we had we could stay dry when walking around. Plugs for chargers and computers were fine and labelled with voltage so we had no problems plugging and charging our devices. The only issue with the room facing the pool that some people did not like was that some of the shows at night were at the pool. They have a pool/swim style ballet show and music volume at this resort is always turned up to 11. The AC and dehumidifier were loud in the room so the music and entertainment playing until 10:30 at night might upset some people but it did not bother us at all. They are renovating the top floor so after 8am we would hear them working but I am not on vacation to sleep in so this did not bother us at all either. The food. I have a very picky eater in my family and he did not starve. This resort had a great selection for all. Tons of salad options, breads, pasta, pizza, french fries, burgers and more. Our tables came with salt and they would cook with it at the omelet station. I did bring packets of ketchup and salt and pepper for our use but we did not end up using all that I brought. We did have actual eggs on the first two days of our stay but after that all we could get was scrambled eggs or an omelet so I assume they have a powdered mix they substitute when actual eggs are not available. This is Cuba, and when you educate yourself on the country and embargo you can understand the shortages of some items. The amount of waste some people left on their plates was a tad disturbing. My suggestion is to go early when the buffet opens so you can get certain items they may run out of after an hour of service, especially when you have guests that take half the butter on 1 plate for themself. Fries usually ran short as well but I blame that on waste by people taking way to much on their plate. Deserts were tasty and that ice cream was amazing! Tons of fish and when we went there was lots of pork options. Sol Palmeras is Spanish owned hotel chain by Melia. We had hot water in our showers at any time and we always had power. Staff here was amazing and love to chat with guests when they are able. It was amazing to get to know so many amazing staff members at this resort. I did not have any issues booking the al la carte restaurants but I was up in the morning and she would book them all in a row so I have no idea why people had issues on other reviews. We tried the Latino, Italian and Chinese. Enjoyed them all even though some items we had we had already eaten at the buffet but again, this is Cuba. You can walk along this beach to the neighboring resorts. If you are thinking of the bungalow just remember it is a ways to get back n forth to the hotel but beach access is pretty easy from anywhere as there are many paths heading to the beach. I was also told the bungalows did not have dehumidifiers and for me that was a major bonus in the hotel room. There is also golf carts that transport people too from the bungalows. We had a great trip and I would be happy to stay at Sol Palmeras or Melia Internacional if we decide to come back. I hope this review is helpful to those looking to book a trip to Cuba! Awesome week during xmas holidays. The resort was very clean, cozy and the animation was just right. We were a group of 6 people including teenagers and an 87 year old. This resort was perfect. A short walking distance to the beach, to the buffet, to the pool and lobby. The food: For our standard, it was excellent! Lots of fish, red meat, good variety of salads etc. With the saving that we made going to Cuba in comparison to other Caribbean destinations, we went on a safari adventure, catamaran trip, visit in the downtown Varadero and one evening we went to the #1 Trip Advisor rated Cuban Restaurant in Varadero - that was a culinary experience! The beach is amazing and the sand is smooth. Going back for sure!

Spent 14 days at this amazing resort mid December. Enjoyed everything, except the December weather. Resort satisfied all of our needs and wants when it came to the location, size, cleanliness, services, beach/pool and food. Location: conveniently located 30 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from Varadero. Size: resort appeared to be quite large, yet it did not feel overwhelming and was very accessible. We stayed at the main building on the 4 floor. First time seeing an elevator in a Cuban resort - huge bonus, especially when traveling with a toddler. Cleanliness: resort grounds inside and outside were always clean. Our room could be cleaned daily, but we made an arrangement with our lovely maid to have it cleaned every other day. Beach/pool: lots of space at the pool and the beach, with both shaded and open areas. Towel service worked great with an abundance of clean towels daily. Services: amazing staff at every section of the resort (reception, security, bars, entertainment, lifeguards, maids, etc.). Food: we were pleasantly surprised to the abundance, quality and variety of food at the buffets and restaurants. Fresh fruits, veggies, fish, meat, eggs other items daily. We miss ice cream and freshly squeezed pineapple juice. We would definitely recommend this resort to others and will be back for sure!

The staff is great, the room is clean, and there are plenty of food options. The beach is great, as well as entertainment. Wifi works in all resort locations. We spend time during the Christmas and they had really nice dinner on 24th and 25th.

After many years we decide to revisit Cuba. We chose Sol Palmeras because of the many great reviews, and we’re glad we did. The resort is clean, the staff is friendly and the beach is beautiful. The nightly entertainment in the lobby bar and around the pool is great. We never had any issues finding chairs about the pool or on the beach. Unlike some comments I’ve read in reviews from other resorts, we always had fresh towels in our room, and were able to change our beach towels daily. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends or family.

Very satisfied with the entire experience. All praise for the staff of the hotel and quality of the service. Beach is not to far from the hotel pool and entertainment facilities. May need improvement with coffee quality. Comparing with other hotels in Varadero and price for all inclusive , definitely recommending.

When we got to Sol Palmeras we were supposed to have a bundow room but we was told it is far from the main building, so I ask the reception if I can get another room in the main building, and she was so nice she did, the room we got was very nice and it look newly renovated. The staff at this resort were very friendly and the food was good specially being in Cuba. I would recommend this resort.

The resort was decent. Food was ok. We changed rooms 3 times. The first room was a bungalow and infested with ants everywhere. There were even a few nest looking things in the bungalow. The second room also had a ton of ants, but we got put in a 3rd room because the room above us flooded. But it was a relief to get away from the ants and the 3rd room was ant free. I also got a ton of bites. I think from sand fleas, but I would always notice them after I woke in the morning. It was really brutal. They were swollen and oozing. The staff were pretty great. Cheerful and accommodating. Overall, it was good.

Maximum 3 star resort, price must be no more than 1k C$ for 7 nights. May is good month to be on this resort, ocean is warm and great for adult and kids. Enough sun beds on the beach, there is a lunch restaurant close the the beach. Nothing exiting, only beach is good

The hotel is aging but maintained and kept clean. Staff are helpful and service is prompt. The main restaurant should be made larger to accommodate the hosts at the pick hours. Often there was noticeable shortage of tables.

This is not our first visit to this resort and it won't be our last. We keep returning because it is very safe and comfortable. The food is good and varied and is dependant on what food is available in the country. The rooms are well kept and clean notwithstanding the hotel is under partial renovation currently. Even though our area was having some minor renovations, it was never any bother for us. The grounds are kept pristine and workers are constantly grooming the landscape. The pools and pool area is clean and well maintained. Veradero beach can't be beat! We spent many hours walking on its sandy shores. Our most important reason for returning to Sol Palmeras would have to be because of the wonderful staff. They are the friendliest, kindest and most accommodating and will help with any situation. We have made friends with many staff and some have become like family. We would definitely recommend this family friendly resort.

This was our 5th time to Cuba and 1st time at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised how beautiful the hotel and grounds were. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Any issues were taken care of immediately. . Dayanna in customer service is outstanding. She took excellent care of us! Beach is beautiful, pool is great, drinks were plentiful and the food was very good!! No eggs, but we did not come for the eggs. Evening entertainment was fun. No complaints. Will definetly return.

I just came back form a 2 week stay at Sol Palmeras, Varadero, Cuba. The beach is beautiful, the weather was sunny and hot everyday. Plenty of chairs, no need to get up early and reserve. The pool area was well kept, and lots of entertainment. I stayed in a superior room with balcony, a nice view of Cardenas bay. It was comfortable, hot water, toilet function and AC all good. Marta, the camarera, did a good job. The food at the buffet was adequate and varied, fish, chicken, pork and beef. Pizza (not so good), pasta, different kinds of vegetables and sometimes fresh green lettuce. The breakfast Omelette were vey good, Xavier, at the grill does an excellent job. Supper efficient and keeps the line up moving with such skill and always in good spirits while manning a hot grill. I cannot say the same for the drinks at the Cubbita bar - cannot make a decent pina collada, or a proper daiquiri cocktail. The coffee was also mediocre. The staff in buffett restaurant were wonderful and very accommodating. Layada was exceptional in her customer service. The other 4 restaurants by reservation were also good, my favorite was the Latin food where I enjoyed a nice fish and a delicious flan desert as well as the impeccable service. The not so good... the noise of hammers to concrete at 08:00 am due to the hotel,s current renovations. Staff worthy of mention: Maria at the customer service office, Heydi Lopez - Animacion Mini Club, Alexis - beach towel station, Jose Carlos - beach and pool animation. The WIFI was available most of the time. All in all I had a good experience and I would recommend this resort.

Sol Palmeras was a great experience. A wide variety of food and plenty of it. Bottled water was plentiful and alcohol too. Staying in a bungalow was even better. The beach was great with plenty to do or hop on a bus and visit Varadero. The staff were just great - friendly, courteous, helpful!

We absolutely loved SOL Palmeras! The entire staff were beyond our expectations, from the check in to the waiters and waitresses at the Buffett to the bartenders and above all the animation/entertainment crew. Dailo, Alexis and the crew made our week so memorable! We had such an awesome time with them, singing, dancing, playing fun games through the day, basketball, volleyball, beach parties and all the night shows. We cannot thank you all enough for the amazing experience we had while in Cuba. The food was great, never a lack of anything when it came to food or beverages. So many places to eat all the time and such a huge selection. We will definitely be heading back next winter. Cannot wait to see you all ??

Clean rooms, good service overall, food is okay. Beer at the outdoor bars is foamy with slow service. Good entertainment in the lobby, during the evening . The staff is very friendly, and will help whenever required.

This is a great resort. The people are very friendly. The food is excellent and the resort very clean. The pool area is very spacious for large and small swimmers. The beach is fabulous. It is clean and very long and great for walking and enjoying the ocean. The water activities are great for adults as well as the children. The entertainment is excellent both inside the resort as well at the pool area and on the beach. The resort staff is very interactive with the guests. This is my second time taking my children and grandkids, and I know I will be returning again next year. Great job Sol Palmaris

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this resort was. The lobby area is very nice with plenty of comfortable seating. The evening entertainment was nice in the lounge. The outdoor theatre and water ballet was very nice. The food in the buffet was plentiful. The 4 ala cartes were very good. The bar beverages were good and also plentiful. No food or drink or amenity shortages. The rooms were very nice and clean. The staff was pleasant and friendly. Beautiful large beach area. Lots of palapas. Easy to get to town. Close to the golf course. The Wifi access throughout the resort is not very strong. I would return.

Always an amazing time, have been 7 times and already booked for next trip at Sol Palmeras. Continually updating resort, rooms and bungalows. Longest and most beautiful beach. Staff are all extremely friendly and accommodating. Have made quite a few friends over the years. Look forward to seeing Yaqueline , Pudarmis in the buffet. Caridad at the lobby bar/ liquor table, Mario the ever smiling bellman. Last but definitely not least my greatest dear friend, Odarmis. Who always makes our trip the best, from restaurant reservations to room accommodations. Good assortment of food, never gone hungry while there. As to food shortages and bland food, this is a country going through hard times. Want spice bring your own, I’ve never needed to. Cuban resorts are in a different class than other countries. Travel to Cuba with an open mind and you’ll have a great time. Can’t wait to get back

The Hotel is quite old, but has been maintained well. The room was dated but clean and everything worked. Entry lock, safe, bathroom all worked well. The resort is very beautiful, grounds manicured and clean. Lots of daytime and evening entertainment. Nice area near beach entrance with bbq open all the time, lots of seats and umbrellas, a little shopping area, lunch served at 1:00. Of course the beach was beautiful, always able to find a spot to sit. Service was excellent, lots of staff. Food was quite good ( for Cuba). Always some type of protein available. They never ran out of eggs. Wifi was the only problem. Difficult to sign in and stay connected. My understanding is that along with some of the rooms that they are visibly renovating, the WIFI is also to be updated. We will definitely return to this resort.

I love the style of the hotel. And its various indoor lounge areas are just perfect. We had a superior room: it was great except for the AC rattle, but we didn't mind enough to ask for servicing. The grounds are nice and well kept. I loved the layout of the whole place! The food was good and never ran out. For allergy/food intollerance purposes, it might be a good idea to cook fish and seafood on different stations (we avoided fish because of this). The bars are ok though slightly overcorwded at times. Drink options could be expanded but I understand this depends entirely on what is available on any given day. You need limes though... please? The beach is AMAZING. We didn't spend time in or around the pools, we go to Varadero for the BEACH, and Sol Palmeras was PERFECT for this. :D

Very clean resort. Very friendly staff. Good food. Good drinks. Always fresh towels. Beach towels were plentiful. Lots of interaction for guests. Great shows. Animation staff was awesome. Only bored if you want to be.

The hotel is located on one of the most beautiful long beaches. Beautiful landscape throughout. This was my 6th stay at this resort, they are always updated the rooms and bungalows. Never had an issue with food shortages. All staff are extremely friendly and have made some great friends. Odarmis, Caridad, Yagueline, Idelarmis (Pudding lol) to name a few. Wouldn’t consider booking anywhere else ❤️❤️

This resort has a wide expanse of beach. It is an emaculate space with plenty of loungers and shade. Just a short walk to an excellent variety of shops. Close to the golf course. The staff are genuine, the resort is clean and the rooms are an ample size. I travel alone and always feel safe. I return to this resort everytime because it feels like a second home.

Obviously, expectations will influence your experience. We expected an older resort, lack of food variety, and little pool/beach services. However, 5 guys in their 50s appreciated the impeccable beaches, beautiful weather, and friendly environment.

Hotel was great second time going there with my wife. We enjoyed the a la carted restaurant specially the Italian restaurant. The entertainers were amazing it was good to see familiar faces. I will be coming back again with family

We went mid-April 2023. Enjoyed the long walks on beautiful beach. The nightly entertainment was really good. In the dining buffet room, the staff was courteous and friendly. Lots to do: kayaking, sailboat, pedal boats, We had a standard room: very clean but furniture is dated. Overall we were satisfied. Would go back.

Stay was from April 2nd-9th 2023 Upon arrival my husband and I noticed that the lobby was dark and uninviting and there was no one to greet us. We've stayed at many all inclusive resorts in the last 15 years and were always greeted and given complimentary drinks and we did not have that experience here. But what I really appreciated was when we were displeased with our initial room the concierge at the front desk "Flex" gave a new room with no issue. In terms of the food I appreciated the variety that the a la carte had. The buffet dining area needed more space between tables but the food itself I'd give 4 /5. The beach and the water were both breathtaking! and the accessibility was easy. The entertainment was phenomenal, especially the night shows in the pool! It had both myself and my husband grinning from ear to ear and giddy to see the spectacles. I booked myself a massage and I was disappointed with the session, it was absolutely terrible. The atmosphere didn't feel professional, the masseuse played music from her phone and the environment felt cluttered and closed in. The spa needs to be updated, it did not feel like a spa in any regard, there were no candles and no ambiance of any kind. The masseuse also was in a rush to go home so she didn't give me a satisfying massage. In the middle of our week we were walking in the hotel and stumbled upon a customer service office where the employees that worked there were kind and we really appreciated their attentiveness to how we felt about our trip so far. For the most part the staff was friendly and tended to our needs. In terms of the room service, the fridge was never restocked with pop only water and when we made that aware to the staff they had assured us that they would restock but they never did. I'm not sure if everyone was new but the front desk employees need more training in customer service. When we were checking out and returning our keycards there was not a care in the world of how our stay went or questions about how we felt about our stay.

Everything was fantastic! Food was plentiful, good, and tons of variety, great a la carte options, top notch drinks, staff are warm and friendly, so much entertainment we couldn't do it all, but also easy to enjoy relaxation and avoid it all of you want (ie: they're not pumping a party atmosphere constantly). A incredible stretch of beach with a natural background of tropical forest, never had an issue getting loungers, free and readily available water sports, view of sunrise and sunset. Resort is a very nice size, easy to get around, we really had no complaints or issues.

Food was not to good hard to eat the meat if you don’t get to the buffet right away all the meat is gone. Pretty much every employee was friendly and really got along with. The beach is absolutely gorgeous more then enough room pool has comfy beds

Re our stay at Sol Palmeras, Apr1 to 8, 2023: My husband, my adult son and I spent a wonderful week at this resort, in one of the convenient bungalows. We have very little to complain about this trip! Staff were friendly and helpful. Most exceptional was the fact that none of the staff harassed us for any money or gifts, which was the case in other resorts. We gave candies to those who served us at the bars and buffet tables. Most were overjoyed to receive this small token of gratitude. We brought with us a few more substantial gifts such as baseball caps (some with logos) or beer can holders and special spice containers, for example, which we gave when extra credit was due. For our maid, we brought a pair of shoes which, miraculously, fit her to a tee! Also, we gave her some hair bands and various lotions, lip balm and lavender spritzer & more. She was so grateful! The bungalow was extremely clean. Linens & towels were changed daily. Huge bottles of clean, pure water were distributed daily, often two at a time. Food at the buffets was plentiful: lots of variety in vegetables (eg pumpkin squash, brussel sprouts), rice and bean dishes, plenty of cheeses (eg blue cheese) and deli meats, lots of freshly baked pizzas at lunch & supper, great assortments of desserts (plus plenty of chocolate & strawberry ice cream & more), various juices and breads. Also, plenty of fresh fruit such as guava, papaya & watermelon presented at nearly every meal, also fresh greens and tomatoes, for supper and lunch. Once, there was smoked salmon served, but that went quick! We only went to one A la Carte restaurant (Chinese, which was ok BTW), as we really enjoyed the buffet food... The coffee was delectable, although only served at breakfast. However, we could get iced coffee at the lounge bar any time of the day... The pool was lovely, but a bit too warm by late afternoon. Lots of water activities (eg aquacises or water sports). My husband was allowed to have his daily swim prior to 9AM which was a real bonus for him and the water was much cooler at 7:30 AM, making his swim so.much more enjoyable. We also enjoyed the fabulous beach and jumped in the huge waves a few times - lots of fun! In addition, we met lovely people from around the world. We did not go on any excursion, didn't feel we needed to as we really needed a restful vacation. Night entertainment was varied, although not 'on a grand scale'. We attended one of the nightly beach parties where several people did some line-dancing - that was fun! There also was a wonderful outdoor buffet on one of the days we were there, lots of chicken and various meats plus calamari, fresh greens etc, all the while being entertained by dancers and Caribbean music. In short, we had a great time!

Wow! That was great. The hotel shows a little bit it's age on some of the bedroom's furniture (at least the "standard" we had) but nothing major, but the maintenance crew is on it. You can see staff fixing and renovating. The foyer it's huge and beautiful. The resort it's very well maintained and clean. Public washrooms are always clean and restocked. Room are cleaned every day, our cleaning staff did a very good job. Food was good, the buffet had lots of choices and trays were always refilled. The à la carte restaurants we tried were nothing exceptional but good (considering all we heard about Cuba). The resort has a beautiful landscape (lots of palm trees). The beach and water, number one. Last but not least, the people, amazing.

We stayed at Sol Palmeras for a week at the end of March 2023. We travelled as a couple and brought our MIL as well. The resort itself is beautiful and quite large. We stayed in the main building and did not upgrade our rooms. They were nothing special but were clean. The pool was awesome and the beach was fabulous. The resort offers a variety of activities which we very much enjoyed, especially the basketball & volleyball. We were pleasantly surprised by the food selection and quality. Everything was fresh and no one got sick, there was something for everyone. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would return.

Although the beach was short, it had plenty of parasols for shade and the sand was nice. It also had activities like paddleboat, kayak, catamaran, volleyball, exercises/stretching... The food was ok for Cuba (papaya, agave, canned pears, canned peaches, watermelon, pineapple, bananas), eggs/omelet for breakfast, pasta bar, pizza, fish station, pork... The "A La Carte" Italian restaurant was the best. All 5 were easy to book as long as you reserved before 9:00. The staff was nice and respectful. They were accommodating for the last day. We were given a room to go change and shower before going to eat and leave for the airport.

My husband and I were there at the end of February for our second time together and my 4th time. Love this resort. Everything is fantastic food,drinks,beach and staff. Have made special friends over the years and special thanks Odarmis for all her special touches, Caridad from the lobby bar and yaqueline at the Italian restaurant. We’ve been to various resorts in Varadero and this is by far the best! Will be going back in May.

A long, beautiful beach and stunning blue water. Older hotel but very clean and appealing to the eye. The food is good for Cuba. Lots of delicious drinks, especially the coffee in the mail lobby. Outstanding, kind staff. My second visit and I'll return again.

The resort is very clean and the staff very friendly. The food was excellent at all restaurant's as well at the buffets. Water activities were very good. I did have trouble locating the instructor that teach you to wear and use the deep sea diving equipment in the swimming pool. I never did locate this person. The swimming pools were excellent. We were book in a bungalow which is very far from the main lobby and all the restaurants. I did request something close during my booking but did not get it so I moved my family the next day to a much closer room. My wife fell after our evening dinner and needed some medical attention. The medical room was locked and no one had access to it. They did have a first aid kit at the customer service office but all they had was a bottle of peroxide. I am a certified first aider and I could have used better cream, gauzes and bandages to help my wife. There was plenty of entertainment at the resort with signing, dancing and instrumental music. The beaches were clean with plenty of chairs and shade trees to sit under to listen to the ocean.

Great hotel and recommendation from Wendy at TriipCentral. Quick and short trip from airport, transfers were all great. Hotel was everything we needed this holiday trip. Super friendly staff, clean rooms and picture perfect days spent on the beach. I’d highly recommend this great family friendly resort to others.

I loved our room 3033 it was a suite double door balcony overlooking the pool area. Very spacious and well kept. The food and staff were very friendly and accommodating. My daughter and I enjoyed our trip, the beach had lots of chairs and activities if you wanted to take part. I would recommend this resort to friends and family.

This was our fifth time in Cuba and fourth at Sol Palmeras. We absolutely love everything about this resort, which is why we keep coming back. An incredible, long beach that is exclusive to Sol Palmeras makes it an absolute jewel as there is always plenty of space, long chairs, and shade for everyone. As usual, the service was absolute top notch, as every staff member we met could not have been more friendly and helpful. Most people complain about the food in Cuba but we've never been disappointed here with tons of options in the buffet, and the Italian, Chinese, Latino, and International restaurants, along with the snack bar, gave us huge, delicious variety for every single meal. The entertainment is always fantastic and the Fun Pub disco bar is the perfect place to let loose at the end of each amazing day. The pandemic has had an impact as there are a couple of things from previous visits that are no longer available, like the beach restaurant/bar, and the dry season produced a mint shortage so we were only able to have mojitos on one night, but the resort still has so much to offer that it's really difficult to ask for anymore. Just a fantastic time for us once again at Sol Palmeras.

We had a great stay at Sol Palmeras. Positives: outstanding beach, great for swimming and relaxation. We were nicely surprised that there were enough sun beds and umbrellas for the guests (we didn’t have to fight for the space at all). We really enjoyed the food especially a la carte restaurants. I thought the food was really good (you will definitely no be able to lose weight here! Lol ). We did long walks along the beach each morning which was a plus. Customer service was good (you got that “odd” person once in a while) but generally staff was nice and helpful! The bungalows were lovely. My sister stayed in 215 and it was very spacious! We stayed at the main building and the room was average but bright and clean! Negatives: in our room (#3079) every time we flushed toilet 🚽 this horrible noise kicked in from inside the wall that you could hear all the way in the hallway- it got fixed two days into our trip. Our shower head also did not work (the water was just dripping down on the side of the shower wire) we were able to wash only under the faucet. Twice I went to my sisters bungalow to take a shower. Zone 3,4 and 5 were lacking landscaping and you could tell no one has cut the grass in ages. Only bungalows closer to the main pool had nice bushes around them and grass was trimmed. Generally very nice resort but definitely in need of some TLC especially in places less common. I like to go for walks and noticed all areas were there was less traffic were sort of neglected. The cabanas by the pools are stained with old food and drinks. Is anyone washing these ever???

Fantastic Holiday, no complaints about food, staff or accommodation. Cuba is experiencing food shortages like everywhere else, but they still maintained an excellent selection and the food was great for Cuba. One very important note, the Cuban pesos are completely devalued and are no good to Cuban's. They offer good deals to exchange your money for their pesos, but you can't actually spend them anywhere. Bring cash and don't exchange it! We ran out of cash and I was going to withdraw some from an ATM to get a ride in an old chevy, glad I enquired before I did, because they just won't accept their currency and need ours to purchase even their own groceries!

My best friend and I had a great time at the resort. We had an awesome room on ground floor so we could just walk out to the pool and beach right from our room! Pool was right there beach was only a two minute walk! Beach was beautiful lots of chairs never had to worry about that. Food was ok. But that’s what it is like at resorts so we expected that. Staff was super friendly, and our maid was the best! We will be coming back next year with the kids!

Amazing beaches and the property is well maintained. They have switched off the A/C in the lobby on purpose as that's where most people hang out for wifi and the 24-hoir bar. It becomes super hot & unbearable after a point. Also, give the economic situation of the country, the food is extremely repetitive and especially for vegetarians or vegans, it is Extremely difficult. They would accomodate the guests and state that there are only 2 vegetarians of the 1000 guests in the resort, which I don't feel is a good enough excuse to not support your guests. Otherwise staff has been amazing.

Really nice resort with incredibly nice staff and great service. The beach was outstanding! The rooms were really nice and clean. The animation team was great by providing activities and shows at night.

I stayed at Sol Palmeras with family in December 2020 and returned again recently (May 27 - June 10). I was not disappointed - had a wonderful time! Highlights: - The resort is very clean and staff continue to be extremely attentive to ensure that guests are comfortable and well cared for. - I stayed in a bungalow steps from the beach. Although the decor is not modern, it was super comfortable, spacious, and spotless. Everything worked perfectly, I never ran out of hot water, and my maid left a fresh bottle of drinking water each day. I loved my little casita. - That beach. Varadero Beach is just stunning. Every time I waded into the calm turquoise ocean, my zen level went up at least 100%. - The food at the resort was plentiful with enough variety that I never got bored during my two weeks at the hotel. Omelettes, fresh fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Lunch at the beach bar or the snack bar in the bungalow section. Dinner at the a la carte or buffet. Lots of fresh grilled fish. I went home feeling healthier and happier. Knowing how much food prices have gone up for the Cuban people, and the hardship that they are experiencing (now more than ever), I felt incredibly grateful and appreciative for everything that was available to us. - Entertainment: The animation team at Sol Palmeras is outstanding in terms of their non-stop energy and creativity in keeping guests entertained and feeling welcomed and included. Special thanks to Carlos and Marcelo, and DJ Roberto. The nighttime shows were as impressive as any I've seen in Cuba, with talented dancers, singers, and acrobats working their butts off to keep us happy. Would have loved to see even more traditional Cuban music and dance in the performances to highlight the beautiful arts and culture in Cuba. In short, I feel hugely appreciative to all of the people who went out of their way to make my trips memorable, both in December 2020 and now. I will always hold these memories in my heart. Gracias a todos para el regalo de unas vacaciones maravillosas. Ojala que un dia muy pronto puedo regresar a Sol Palmeras!

2nd time at Sol Palmeras. Food was excellent as before - especially the Chinese Restaurant. Lots of beautiful beach with plenty of palapas. Service was spectacular. Their bungalows are a hidden gem.

My fiancé and I found this to be an amazing resort. I was very big, lots to do. The beach was endless beautiful white sand, lots of recliners in excellent condition and not crowded. The pool was great and again lots of recliners and space. The bars on the beach and pool, lobbies and everywhere had lots of friendly staff. The buffet was large and plenty of different foods available, BTW the food was GREAT considering it usually isn't that good in Cuba. The staff were amazing in the buffet as well as the al-la -carte restaurants. It was my fiancé's Birthday at which I proposed to her in the Latin a-la-carte restaurant The staff helped me pre arrange the flowers, special dinner, champagne and videoed the proposal for us. They went out of their way to make it a special night for us and I can't thank them enough. pretty much all of the staff spoke good English and were absolutely wonderful and friendly. The bungalow we had was very clean and well kept as well as comfortable. There was plenty of things to do and entertainment every day. In short I can not say enough good things about this resort . would I go back again... ABSOLOUTLY IN A HEARTBEAT !!!!! Also a special thanks to Tammy Beamish for helping me again to book this, your the best. !!

My 3rd and last time at Sol Palermos. In fact I am done with Cuba. I have been to Cuba over 30 times and the last couple of times I have not been happy. The resort was full of Cubans and to say they are rude is an understatement. They have no regard for anyone other their own people. They take over the pool, bar and restaurant. We pay good money to go to Cuba but they get waited on before anyone else. I spoke with other people at the airport who were at different resorts and they all had the same complaints. So done with Cuba and I would not recommend anyone going to this country or resort. Waste of my money.

We loved everything in this hotel. It’s clean, friendly staff, beautiful ocean. We spend amazing 7 days and we definitely will be back one day. The beach is amazing . Territory is beautiful. We lived in bungalow and absolutely loved it.

Our rating for this Hotel would be 3 star. I have mix feelings about this place as far as the staff is concern mostly all the women staff were lovely friendly and helpful. We were in a group of 6 and myself and a friend were celebrating our birthdays.The coordinator I think Nancy was very helpful and arranged for us both to have cakes for our celebration at one of their à la carts.The Italian was the best. The buffet was very repetitious always the same thing never Never wonderful. the grill on the beach Was never ready would ask them what time could we get some food oh 20 minutes then we come back in 20 minutes and it wouldn’t be ready or there be nothing left. They continuously ran out of wine and beer it was odd that if they did open a bottle of wine in front of you they would go in the back room and it seemed they were watering it down why wouldn’t He pour it in front of you very unusual.the hotel is in need of major Reno the bathroom especially very run down all vent dirty and very old. The entertainment was ok . The beach was beautiful white sand but needed to be raked up lots of dangerous bit and pieces have to be very careful. Towel and Palapas we’re ample. The pool was in the process of being painted And needed attention I never seen Anyone attempting to clean the water of Debris.

We have been to this resort many times we absolutely love it, for us it is home away from home. The staff is amazing, friendly and very helpful. There is plenty of entertainment all day and evening. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

This is a smaller, older resort but great overall. We picked this resort beacause of the great reviews and the repeat customers. We had a standard room which was perfectly fine but please ensure to ask for a renovated room. They still have old standard rooms which are not up to par. Lots of selection to food and restaurants, including a BBQ grill at lunch and a snack bar on the beach. There is no bartendar service around the pool or the beach and there is no swim up bar at the pool. Rather there is a bar in the middle of the pool that you access by a bridge. The al a carte restaurants were all great! We ate at the Latino, international, Italian, Chinese and the Tex Mex. Italian was our favourite but they were all good. Often people say the food in Cuba is bland, but we didn't experience this at this resort and this is our 4th time to Cuba. There were the odd times where they didn't have items as they ran out, but it was subsituted with something else if it was at the al a carte restaurants or if it was in the buffet, then usally the next day or two, they would have it. The beach at the resort is awesome....large and wide compared to other resorts next to us and there were no rocks. There are a lot of beach chairs and spacious palapas. Best of all no pedlars trying to sell you stuff on the beach. The hotel is in a great location, not to far from the town of Varadaro. We took a bus right outside the resort for 5 convertible Cuban pesos which is unlimited rides for the day as long as you keep the ticket. It was about a 15 minute ride to town. You can also walk to the Las Americas mall (5 minute walk) or take the free shuttle train from the resort. The resort also has bikes for free of charge but we didn't use them. The activities at this resort were standard and could have had more and better promoted. The evening consisted of singers or magicians, etc. in the lobby bar. We really enjoyed the open air roof top lounge off of the main lobby. They did have an outside stage for shows which we didn't attend. They have a very small gym with basic equipment but unfortunately wasn't air conditioned so it got very hot if you're doing cardio on the treadmill or elliptical machines. The staff at this resort were awesome...very friendly and always wanting to please. This made our stay very enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this resort.

I found the hotel to be clean with 2 beautiful pools along with a large Beach area. Plenty of chairs for sunbathing at pool along with beach area. Lots of choices at the buffet. Staff very helpful. Entertainment very good

Had an amazing time once again. This was my eighth time at Sol Palmeras. The grounds are immaculate, the staff always friendly, the beaches are one of the best in the world. We didn’t do any excursions but enjoyed the warmth of the sun and relaxed. The food never disappoints us, we did mostly ala Carts. Would definitely be going back next year. Y

Staff was very helpful with my food allergies which was a huge relief. We had a great celebration for my father's 50th birthday. We came with 19 people and we had a great time. Mine and my sisters room was a little dated but nonetheless very clean. Maid service was wonderful. The rest of our friends all had updated rooms that were very nice. the beach was wonderful and lots of beach chairs to go around.Thank you for the great service and wonderful stay.

Have been in Cuba many times but mostly on the Santiago side. First time in Varadaro and at Sol Palmeros. Had a family junior suite which was awesome. The food was better than I was used to and some good selection as well. The beach was amazing. The resort did a great job with my birthday party. Recommend this resort for Cuba lovers. Would like to see more authentic Cuba music with instruments but the entertainment they had was outstanding. Thank you Sol Palmeras for a great birthday and 20 of my friends.

The grounds were very nice. Great pool and beach. I would say the one biggest drawback was that the buffet restaurant was only open at specific times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I travelled with my family which included a 14-month old child and the fact that dinner began at 6:30 meant that she was "trying" to eat dinner at that time which was very close to her bedtime (at 7:00). It should have been open with at least some food available at 5:00 p.m. so that children can have their light suppers early and go to bed.

Grounds,beach,pool area and rooms all very good. Room attendant (male) did a very good job. The woman booking specialty restaurants was useless, she kept telling us the restaurants were full but when we went to the international there were only 4 tables being used. We could not get a table at the Italian, so one night I talked to the maitre d and he gave us a table. We had the best meal there. We tried to get a booking for the Tuesday night before we left and the woman said it was closed. We were sitting in the lobby having a drink and the restaurant was open and people were going in. The drinks were different every time you got one (different mixers) they were not up to par.

Just returned from 8 days at Sol Polymeras. The beach, people were as always excellent. Welcoming and in good spirits. The food did not have the same variety as we are used to in Canada but we always had a selection of fresh fish - which i had grilled nightly - and hubby had chicken and pork from the bbq or grill. Entertainment was better some nights than others but that is expected since tastes differ. Would recommend hotel .

The hotel was beautiful the staff was friendly it was very clean and well maintained. It was close to town. Easy access to the bus and there was a shuttle to another market near by. Some bars were open 24 hrs access to food a small store on site

Hotel is not bad overall, buffet is not good but special dining restaurants are much better especially the Italian restaurant. Beach, sea and pool are wonderful, good location as well. Wifi reception is poor in the room but good in the lobby, $1 CUC per minute is expensive.

We stayed in the cottage. It was a bit of a walk to the restaurant and main building, however it was very quiet and clean. There were some renos done recently. The beach is gorgeous and very relaxing. We went when there were lots of waives, so we enjoyed the water, especially because the sand was soft and there were no rocks.

Our check in with Gonzales was very quick. He was friendly and professional. The AC in my room did not work. I requested a different room and they were very obliging. My room was newly renovated and a walk out to the pool area.. it was great!! The restaurant was good. Service was good. Yedeil, one of the servers was very personable and great! We went to the Chinese and Italian al me cartes. They were ok. The pool was great and beach was nice. Water was fairly rough due to storm coming in. We experienced 3 days of rain unfortunately. The stay was still good. As time went on staff became more personable and service improved. Overall enjoyed the resort and the trip.

I recently stayed at the Sol Palmereas in Varadero. The resort is huge and also very beautiful. The buffet get a little tired as it is the same thing everyday. Also we stayed in a one bedroom bungalow and yes they clean it everyday but if one of your kids drops as much as Cheerio on the floor an army of ants will soon be crawling around the floor. The beaches are gorgeous and the pool as great as well. One thing did not sit well with us was the fact that we waited 2 hrs and 30 minutes for the Sunwing bus to collect us to go home. Then once we arrived at the airport our flight was delayed two hours. That made for an exhausting long day for a 1 and 3 year old.
