This was my second time vacationing at Gran Club Santa Lucia. The staff is amazing, they all treat you like family!! The food is great, the rooms and resort are kept clean, and if there is any issues the staff would action right away. I will be returning in November.

I went for 10 days to attend my brother's wedding. It was lovely. The staff did a wonderful job with the ceremony, decorations, and meal. It is a cozy resort with friendly staff. The daytime entertainment was fun, engaging and inclusive. The night entertainment was wonderful including a great kids show. Definitely would recommend.

Small and pretty... with great pool with super soft freshwater... the junior suites are extra nice...its beach NOT so great (seagrass) ..but theres COCO BEACH nearby with its WOW factor 15 minutes by taxi...gardens very well maintained...the food was above average for Cuba I was there for two weeks and enjoyed the buffet everyday...friendly staff... this was my 10th Cuban hotel and I have never found a perfect one yet....But for very little money you get extra good value here... long bus rides from Camaguey 1.5hrs even worst from Holguin close 3.5 hrs....I was very satisfied with my vacation

All the staff makes you fell like family, they are the best, food is great never went hungry, pool was nice and clean everyday, grounds well maintained...I have been to many resorts in Cuba and never felt the way I did at the Roc, I was sad to leave and misd it already...will definitely go back!

Always something to keep the entire family amused. And the best entertainers around. And the kids club lady bon bon will keep you children safe and busy for hours. Good food and drinks what more do you need.

I have to admit in full honesty that alleys and green spaces are well taken care of The reception is OK, pretty on the ball But the rooms… The doors have a slack so if you are at the ground floor you risk stepping on a crab on your way to the washroom. About the washroom – you have to flush till you get hurt and maybe it flushes Well at the second floor you have cockroaches The food in the restaurant – uneatable, that is why everybody eats the food at restaurant at the Beach where one cook sells a daily average of 400 hamburgers, 250 hot dogs and 400 sandwiches The animation at the swimming pool is OK But the animation in the restaurant the 4 girls singing – whining cats (complain in a feeble or petulant way) Never mind that two of girls Anne and Claudia (members of the band Covarrubias Son) are soliciting money for sex and and go visit customers in their rooms. The beach is a disaster: weeds, reef, dirty all time and there is no music or animation Now if you get 3-4 rainy days from 7, definitely you regret the money you paid. Personally I regret such a bad review but that’s the reality I had to face.

not so amazing. quality has dropped. price has gone up Service and staff are excellent. but food , drinks and beach horrible. same food every day too much sea weed on beach not being maintained. i will not be return to this resort in future.

The hotel staff is very friendly, but lack of supplying correct inofrmation to guests. The food varities is very poor, if the desert is over they do not have similar, but different varitie to fill in, very disappointing. The rooms are provided to guests without making sure all the amenities are functional. Very money minded, first money then talk.

service is excellent, Ronaldo, Customer service is amaizing. new cook spanish , was the best meal for 3 stars hotel; turkey, porc, soup is fantastic and warm donut for breakfast every day, WOW, you can not ask more. all the dessert was goods, and icecream was freezing, not usualy for Cuba. beah was clean every morning, animation was great, every thing was perferct, i recommanded . just one thing; airplane..... Cubana plane, sit was brooked, and missing one arm brooked, not pleasant at all, not confortable, bouth way, 2 different planes. show at night, was not very good, the stage was broken, and the dansers can not do the show, Trip advisor was there 1 day to take some comments. ask me 200$ extra because solo to the room is no fare, too much extra $ for 11 days, please fix it for next trip couples peoples complain about it,, too much money extra for one person to the room, some hotel do not charge for that

It is not the first time that I am visiting this resort and there are two things that impressed me and made the difference: the attendance and activities on the beach were more meaningful the hotel improved a lot in considering public expectation The animation and entertainment were as good as ever

Roc, Santa Lucia has always been my home resort in Cuba. The staff and management is amazing. Customer Relations Staff Reynaldo and Neiva ate on top of all complaints, they are quick to resolve your issues if you have any. Yurina works hard to make your accommodations comfortable. The bartenders are always fun to joke with. The waitresses and waiters in the buffet Restuarant are always kind and courteous! The pool bar and pool area are always clean and comfortable. The lobby bar is open 24 hours, always clean and a great place to meet new people. The rooms are comfortable and the maids always keep your room clean and comfortable. The air conditioners are new and work well. The a la carte restuarants that you book through the customer Relations Office have good tasting food and the service is good. The menu is changing and I asked that they post the menus for the travel agencies and airlines so you can book your complimentary a la cartes through the websites while booking your flight. The entertainment staff are always engaging you in fun. Darts, Baseball, Spanish Lessons, Salsa Lessons, Aqua Fit, Beach Party, Ring Toss, Rum and Wine tasting, and a show every night at the Cabaret and much more... We had a great time and I always return for more. There are many excursions you can book and enjoy. Rent a scooter, take a ride on horse and buggy as well as take the Santa Lucia train throughout Sant a Lucia to view the area. If you want to experience a Cuba Church ask to be taken to the Church in Las Ochentas. They is also the disco for the nightlife. I hope everyone has a great vacation as I do every time I return.

Love going to the ROC..just returned from my 5th visit and planning on returning in the fall.The staff as always make you feel welcome and remember you with big hugs.The grounds are kept clean and the food is good..always something to choose from.Beach is clean and lots of loungers.Many many repeat guests come here...can't wait to return :)

This is my third time to Cuba and clearly the third time's the charm. This is a small-medium resort, very well kept with a large, modern and beautiful junior suite, good food, beautiful beach and incredible staff. One word of warning, though. The water has many crabs and hard, spiky sea urchins hiding in the sea grass. I would bring water shoes if you don't want to be pierced or have your toes pinched. Big shout-out to Reynaldo, the resort's customer service rep who went above and beyond for us. If you decide to choose this resort, he is partial to small gifts of Werther's candies, Nutella and chocolate of any kind. :)

Really enjoyed the stay at ROC Santa Lucia. The staff were great, especially Pluto. The pool bar was a mainstay for the people I was there with for the week. Beautiful beach for morning walks or relaxing on the beach. Food was good. The hotel is actually better than the 4 star hotel next door. If you have a family, this resort would be great for them and is really cheap for what you receive.

This was our 8th visit to Cuba, first time to this part of the Island. We have been to Cayo Largo, Cayo Coco, Varadero (5 times) and now here. It is a small resort which isn't a bad thing. We stayed in a junior suite and this was one of the better rooms we have stayed at in Cuba. The grounds were nicely done and kept in pretty good condition. The beach was large and great for our boys to play. The ocean on the other hand wasn't the greatest for us, had lots of sea weed growing in it and visible crabs in it, to the point where we were afraid to let our boys in . The pool was great! probably the cleanest pool I have seen in Cuba. The reason why i love Cuba so much is the people and here again we met some very friendly people who went above and beyond to make our vacation great! We had another very nice family trip! We love Cuba and can't wait to continue visiting other parts of the Island. We will be back here again!

We had a wonderful, relaxing time. There is an older crowd at the Roc which we fit into just fine. The beach is beautiful, the food was really, really good. Rooms are clean and the people are kind and work hard. What is not to love?

The Roc this year was to expensive .It showed during the two weeks ,was only about a 100 people both weeks. The only reason we went there was we got a group rate discount. The food this year was super ! The staf as usual were great. Some rooms needed repairs due to the storm but plenty of good rooms available . The tiles around the pool in bad shape and need to be redone. The bar products very poor no high end brands, no tomato juice,no product like Baileys . The beach very clean and well groomed . The exchange rate almost 26 percent .at this rate less tipping for the workers should be a lot lesser so to tip more.overall a good place if the price is lower.

Staff were lovely, very helpful and willing to assist us whenever we needed it. Resort needs a refresh including rooms and pool deck but it was always kept clean. The ala cart and buffet was limited in terms of variety but for the the food was good.

we came there to kitesurf. Hotel is good, food is good, ppl are good. We had two days for 19 m kites, 2 days for 12 and one for 9. Kite rigging area is good and close to rooms. It is wide to solo lunch and land. I will go there again

the Hotel is excellent. but the price is a bit high. as it being a 3 star.. The food is good but need more variety from day to day. also the food dish labels shoud include if peanut or Mushrooms have been used . so guest could be aware. I was very happy with the staff who provided 4 star service. they are very friendly and always smiling.

The resort is great with nearly all amenities functioning in good condition rooms are in awesome condition and the room service excellent reception desk is 60% up to the task beach service excellent bar service - above the norm entertainment was exquisite: the band called Covarrubias Son (all of the members conservatory educated) delivered songs Cuban and International at a top artistic level of production we had live shows and dance competitions every night tourists were involved in activities of yoga, zumba, every day restaurants were clean and welcoming, however: only the grill, pizza & pasta chefs knew what they do the main dish chefs didn't know how to cook anything: chicken, fish or porc we never had beef and sea food guiding personnel and drivers were pretty unprofessional and not listening to the tourists needs

This is the best 3 star resort in Cuba we've been. Everything is excellent such as food, grounds, customer service, rooms, beach,entertainment every night! Would not hesitate to recommend this resort to our friends and would definitely come back!

Grounds clean; rooms clean and cleaning ladies are all very good.Food in the buffet restaurant is good. Excellent pizza. Fresh fruit smoothie section is very good. We have problem with our accomodation when we are checking in but was rectify by sunwing rep ( Mirtha) the next day. A very huge thank you to her.

This Hotel is amazing and the Staff makes you feel like you are at Home. There has been many beautiful renovations completed at this resort. Rooms, Lobby Bar, Beach Snack Bar, Entertainment Stage, Buffet Restuarant, Tennis and Basketball Courts and the Reception Lobby. There are many a la Carte Restaurants so you can enjoy different cuisines Many Excursions you can book through the Travel Representative Mirtha and Customer Relations Representative Reynaldo Smith. There is entertainment activities all day long, something that everyone will enjoy. The Bartenders have great friendly and funny personalities. Managers are always there if you have any complaints or need help with anything. Reception is there to serve you if you need anything. They have WiFi services with a purchase of an Internet card and they also have Money Exchange. I recommend this resort for Families, Couples and Single people You will have an amazing Cuban Experience.

This resort should already be rated as a 4 star. the food is Always delicious and varied. the fruit smoothies station is serving great tasting combinations of the most amazing tropical fruits. the beach is beautiful, however there's sea weed in some areas but the hotel has an early morning crew cleaning up as much as possible.

wish to go back soon,; garden is amazing, staff are the best, foods too salted, but lot of choice, fruts, pastry, smoothies, délicious omelettes, every body smiling, and at the bar do not forget to try; COFFEE ICE. délicious. price is good, beach is white sand, , lot of transats, and they add. 40 palapas. bring mosquitos stoff.

If you like to drink twenty four hrs. great and hang around the pool. Beach stinks, seagras,it is raked away unpleasant for swimming. Room was clean,pillows stained. Requested clean one. $3.oo for safety deposit box $two for water, than refill at bar 5peso or/$ to have blood presure taken. Food good at times, do not aske a Greman . ... many return. I went for the ocran , so no would not go or recommend to friends. Staff was nice but annoid be couse my questioning the extra expenses. I was told to blame sunnwing not to have encluded or informed of hidden costs. Great for men to pick up. ..

We had a great time at the ROC. Most workers were very pleasant and the entertainment staff were second to none. The place is beautiful and easy to navigate the beach was OK. The only down side was that the children pool and the adult pool were joined and there are too many kids around the swim up bar. The food was actually very good at the buffet, first time that i go to Cuba and enjoy the buffet. If you go to Santa Lucia you should book the water excursions first thing, because you never know when they will be cancelled for reasons like wind or motor will not start.

The hotel amenities are exactly what is to be expected for a 3 star hotel. Keep in mind you get the amenities that you pay for.... HOWEVER, the staff of the hotel were incredible and also the guests were the nicest out of any resort that I have been to! I would recommend this hotel if you are not too fussed about the room accommodations and are looking to meet great people and spend a week on a gorgeous beach! There is also a great disco where the locals and hotel guests go to just outside of the resort. That was a lot of fun!

We have been going to this hotel for many years now and the management is making many improvements to the hotel. The lobby, lobby bar and restaurant have all been upgraded and look beautiful. Also the food has improved 100%. They are also upgrading the standard rooms and all rooms are receiving new air conditioners. For Cuba this is a hotel to consider.

We've stayed at this resort twice, 2015 and 2017 (2 adults and 3 kids/teens). The rooms are simple and need some repair/tlc, but they are clean and comfortable. The grounds and beach are kept beautiful! The food is typical for cuba. You can always find something to eat but the buffet offers very similar food day-to-day. The restaurants book up quickly which is disappointing. The staff are always friendly. They work long days yet always have a warm smile and greeting. I think staying in a junior suite is the only way to go - bigger, closer to the beach with your own patio/balcony. If you're looking for luxury, premium liquor and tasty food, this resort is not for you. It offers a clean room, beautiful beach and gardens and amazing staff.

resort has great staff, nice easy layout, lots of amenities, just wonderful sand beach, good size rooms, every thing worked well, pool was a little small for the number but every one was friendly. of 9 resorts we have been to in Cuba this one had the most boring bland food.

The grounds were so well kept with beautiful flowers. We had a beach bungalow and it was beautiful. All the staff were lovely people and even the food was well spiced and I always found stuff I enjoyed. However, the coffee bar was something we really, really loved. Will hopefully return one day!

Stayed for one week - December 14 to 21. We went for our anniversary and Ivonne, a customer service rep at the resort went out of her way to make our vacation special. We were given a junior suite on the second floor, which was very large with a separate living area, a king size bed and a view of the ocean. The room was very clean and we even found the bed was comfortable which is not always the case at some resorts. Ivonne arranged for flowers to be delivered to our room on our anniversary which was a very nice touch. On our first day, Ivonne also quickly booked all our a la carte meals, including arranging for lobster on our anniversary. A la carte restaurants included, Seafood, Italian and Cuban and all meals we had at these restaurants were delicious. The buffet food was also good, with a variety of options. We understand the resort is currently building another restaurant which will further enhance eating options. There are three beautiful stain glass pieces in the lobby which we understand are fairly new additions. As someone who dabbles in stain glass, I found these pieces gorgeous. There are also lush gardens throughout the resort and a beautiful beach with lots of chairs and palapas available. The pool was also very nice which included a swim up bar and lots of chairs, however, a few more shaded areas around the pool would be nice. There was some construction going on throughout the resort and some fish ponds did not have any water. However, we did not find the construction interfered with our enjoyment and we could visualize how much nicer the resort will be when these renovations are completed. We found the staff at this resort were fantastic. So welcoming and friendly. Most recognized you and were quick to greet you and assist you in any way they could. We were also surprised at how well many of the staff could speak English. Unfortunately I have a hard time remembering names, but I thank Ivonne and the staff from all areas within the resort for truly making our stay special. It was our first time to the Gran Club Santa Lucia, and although we don't usually return to the same resort, we will most likely be back. We've been to Cuba 9 times, at resorts ranging from 3 to 5 star and we consider the Gran Club Santa Lucia one of the best resorts we've been to. It definitely exceeded our expectations.

The food wasn't very good , it was the same everyday and didn't seem to be fresh sometimes , there was too many prostituation going on , too many old men with young girls , why the hotel allows this is beyond me I think many people were uncomfortable with this going on ,staff was friendly , staff at the bar area need to learn how to make good cappachino, coffee wasn't very good and we had to go to brisas or mayanabo to get a good cappuccino .When there is a complaint from a guest they don't really care , they always have some excuse and don't really give good customer service ,they really need to improve customer service !!!!

The hotel was great a lot of upgrades happening which is great the food was very good the rooms are all getting redone .Night life is a little slow only one dance club but it's a very small island but let love it there the staff is great .

I just completed a 2 weeks stay and had a wonderful time. The hotel is being revitalized throughout and has definitely upgraded its food offerings. There are still frustrations with Cuban wifi, but I assume with time they'll enter the 21st century. Like most places, the more often you go and get to know the staff, the more the holiday takes on a more person note and the memories are just that much better.

The staff at Gran Club are all so friendly and welcoming. The grounds are keep in immaculate condition. The buffet has such a great variety and the beaches are beautiful. Kids club is awesome, kept the boys busy and having fun all week. Cant wait to go back

The hotel is not bad. Workers are friendly. Rooms ok. Grounds ok. Lobby has been renovated and pleasant place to stay. Lobby bar is a good place also to mingle with other tourists.Overall stay pleasant except that we have to be evacuated from the hotel to to the city because of the Hurricane and staying in the city hotel is not very pleasant at all.

When we first got to this resort we thought we made the wrong decision. Our room wasn't that good and resort is a little worn. But, after talking with Reynaldo from customer service who helped us in such a big way! He took us to look at other room(2 rooms ) options until we found one we that was satisfactory. Then he helped us transfer all our bags from the first room. Wow! He went over and above for everyone all week long. Food was amazing. So good. Employees are all so much fun. Always a smile to share. Evenings in the lobby bar never seized to entertain! We made so many new friends! Can't wait to visit again soon!

We just returned back from our Vacation at Grand Club. It was a girls get away and we had the best time ever. I have travelled to Cuba many times and this is the first time I can actually say it felt like being with family. When we first arrived at the Hotel the room we received was not in the greatest condition. However Customer Service Rep Raynaldo was very quick to resolve the issue. He took us to several other rooms and let us choice which one we were more comfortable in. The Hotel is older and is currently being renovated. The grounds are very nice and kept very clean. We ate in the buffet and also at the a la carte and I have to say the food was amazing. The Entertainment staff was amazing, they were always by the pool or beach with lots of activities to participate in. They were always engaging with the guest to participate in activities. Two best Entertainment staff goes to Betty and Tiko. Also one more shout out to the best lifeguard by the pool who always made you feel safe Armando. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Great staff. Good food. This was our second trip. They made improvements since our last trip. Nightly shows are good. Bit of sea weed in water but they clean the beach daily. I will be going back soon.

The hotel was amazing . From day one the staff made me feel welcome looking forward to visit there again in the near future. The food was good the hotel had more than one restaurant and bar. The beach bar was very accommodated for guest a few steps from the beach and you have a drink, fries, hotdogs or burgers.

Resort was absolutely perfect for families. Stunning beach with calm water. Kids pool was a big hit, very large and perfect depth. Buffet was best we've had in Cuba and perfect dining times for young families. Staff was all wonderful. Recommend Family Suite, we travelled with kids 6, 3, and 1.

Nice and kind staff !! Clean rooms !! Good variety of water sports !! Good possibilities of excursions outdoor !! Quiet and relaxing beach !! Fun shows at night !! Entertainment for children and adults !! We have received more than we have paid !!

The resort itself was nicely maintained. A girl friend and I stayed for 5 days. The food was good, for Cuba. The shows were fairly nonexistent when we were there. We expected some grand dance numbers given the reviews; however, only one night had an actual dance show and that only consisted of 3 mediocre dances. The resort seems geared to older people and families with very young children. There was really no in between. Perhaps during a higher peak season, this isn't the case. (We were there April 10-15, 2016) Overall, if you want to relax and do not much else, then go here. If you're looking for excitement and half entertaining excursions, go somewhere else. Also, if you are going to book, go through Sunwing, rather than Air Cubana. Our rep could never be found but the Sunwing lady was amazingly helpful (even though we weren't Sunwing guests). The staff were all nice enough. The lobby bar bartenders were the best. The beach is not that nice. Nothing compared to Cayo Largo. This one has maybe 10 feet of cleared space to use, and it's less than a foot deep. Even coco beach was disappointing...unless seaweed is your thing. Oh. Don't get a standard room if you like to sit out on the patio...there isn't one. Do the upgrade.

I went with my daughters in April and loved this resort. They have been before and liked it then. When we got there the staff recognized them from last time. The entertainment group is fantastic especially Danny and Tico but all were great. The beach is beautiful although there is some seaweed and the pool is good too! The room was large, clean and had a separate room...worth a slightly higher cost for the junior suite. The food in the restaurant was somewhat limited but tasted good. Ivonne in public relations is fantastic and offers superior service Internet cards 2 pesos for 1 hour can be bought and work well I have been to many places in Cuba but thought that this was the best value for my dollar, par none!! I will definitely go back.

great resort, everything is very close, fully accessible, coffee is terrific, staff are excellent, rooms large and clean, food is Cuban, beach is fantastic. Local tours reasonably priced and great value

Gran Club is the only resort I will return to, year after year. It is so welcoming and quiet, with all the amenities you could ask for. Although it does need some updating, the staff is very friendly and helpful. Not a large resort, this keeps the noise down, and no line-ups for the buffet. The food is typical of what you can get at other Cuban resorts. I almost hate giving this resort a good review because I don't want the crowds there, however, I have recommended Gran Club to a number of people. The only downside would be the long 90 minute bus ride from the airport over bumpy Cuban roads.

From Managers to the maids to the animation team as well as Yurina, the wonderful PR lady, made us feel special. Junior suite clean/comfortable. Beach/algae. Food: tasty/repetitive. Excellent quality/price.

I thought the Gran Club Santa Lucia was fine. Lovely grounds and pool. Service was very good and I liked the friendly staff. Our a la carte meal at the Italian restaurant was especially flavourful. My companion and I enjoyed our resort visit but had to get used to being surrounded by evening Cuban music coming from establishments near our resort.

This resort exceeded my expectations. It was the perfect size with no lineups and lounge chairs were always available. The food was very good for a 3 star resort and the grounds were well kept and beautiful. Staff were excellent. I recommend the junior suite as it is much more spacious and closer to the beach than the standard room. Improvements were being made continually and this resort will only get better. It is great value for money and I hope to return.

The entertainment was fantastic, the food was great, the resort was very clean and all staff were very helpful. I definitely will take my next trip to Cuba to this resort. The games around the pool each day and the entertainment staff were absolutely fantastic especially Lachi, Julio, Pluto and Bonbon.

The beach & pool area were beautiful. The entertainment staff & dancers were amazing. The food was good, always had something we liked on the buffet, even for my picky kids! Our room was decent & clean. Was a fantastic trip & we hope to visit Gran Club again!!!

new management still need work to do, lost a lot of customers due to poor service. not enough food at the the buffet, no change of variety of food beach very dirty full of sea weed. always running out of drinks at the bar.

The animation crew are wonderful and hotel staff are very polite and quite professional, first class. The only thing that bothers me is mosquito bite that makes me scratch all day and the cops bothering the locals

This was my third time to this area in Cuba, each time staying at a different hotel. Overall this is my favourite. This hotel had the friendliest staff, good food, grounds well kept, amazing white sand beach. Fresh coconut every day. Stayed in Junior suite which was very large, room was clean, big balcony. Good value for money spent. If you just want to relax and enjoy the beach and sun, this is the place to go.

Food was good, grounds clean and staff helpful. Diving was great the dive shop is next door a shot walk down the beach. Beautiful beach with white sand. Meals were taken in an enclosed room with air. Very nice resort I would go back.

The grounds need a bit of sprucing up BUT that can all be overlooked! The staff especially the entertainment staff were amazing, very approachable, fun, and engaging! This is our third trip to Cuba so we knew to lower our expectations regarding food; we were very surprised with the buffet- for Cuba standards it was pretty good and varied-I would only recommend they add a salad bar. The a la carte restaurants were surprisingly great!! We went to all three (Italian, seafood and Cuban) and loved the Cuban! My only complaint is with the sunwing; according to their website And onsite rep; guests can beach bar hop with the other resorts in the area-when I witnessed someone attempting to do that they were refused service because they were not at the Gran Club. After I mentioned that the onsite sunwing rep had advised everyone of this upon arrival they checked with management and refused them service! The other sunwing rep issue was the outright lying with respects to the delayed flight; she kept telling us we were wrong that it was the original schedule even when we showed her our tickets stating otherwise! Extremely disappointing and frustrating especially for those with medical issues. Overall the trip was great and I would return but with a different provider.

We travelled as a family of five: two adults and three children. The transfer to the hotel was a little bit long for the kids but at the same time interesting as we could watch the real cuban life from our bus. We were pleasantly surprised when arrived to the hotel and even more when we entered our junior suite. We had a lovely spacious beachfront corner with master bedroom isolated from our little troublemakers ;-)). The room was well air conditioned and well maintened every day! The resort area is very spacious (compare to 4* Brisas next door) clean and taken care of with love! The food had no much choice, but the quality was good enough, none of us had stomac "surprise"...... ;-). The best ever was their ice cream! Here is a special message from our kids: "Viva Helado Cubano!" ;-))) Don't miss their pearl excursion - Catamaran with snorkeling to uninhabitant island - Playa Bonita! Unforgettable journey!!!!!!!!! Our special thanks to lovely Betty, Bon Bon, Nancy, Jose, Emanuel, to all front desk ladies, cleaning ladies and to ...... all of your team!!!! The resort is great for someone not looking for extras. It is clean and the staff is friendly --- not much to do in the area. It is a bargain for someone looking to take a vacation without the big expense.

Resort is very nice for a 3 star resort! Beach needs alot of TLC. Don't go for the beach ... You'll be vey disapointed! Staff is very nice and friendly. Something about the Pina colada there.... Don't ask for one after 3 pm.... Seems they run out! Buffet is very boring! Same thing everyday but food is ok! Wendy, waitress at the buffet will give you a special treatment!

Everything was easily accessable from drinks and food to loungers and games. During the day and evening there were activities for all ages, however after 10pm it seemed like the resort shut down. The food is good, no complaints other than most of the meat, particularly the "chicken". Staff is very friendly, they were the highlight of the trip. Locals as well, amazing people. All in all, I would go back in a heartbeat.

I loved everything at this resort except for maybe the food...but please dont let that stop you, perhaps not everyone is as picky as me. The pasta, bread, egss, fruits and veggies were great! I just wasnt a fan of the protein. A great improvement for me would have been salad dressing from home. The rooms were typical. The pool and the beach obviously amazing!! The staff was fantastic and the coffee was to die for. The 3 restaurants available were very good and the service and food was top shelf. The night life is lacking. There was no disco, games or pool after 8 so this was disappointing but overall everyone had a great time! Cant wait to go back!!

We recently attended this resort with another family. It was all we expected and more. The staff were wonderful and made it great. There was plenty to do, we were never bored. Everything was clean from the rooms to the grounds. We recommend the iced coffee with rum at the lobby bar, do not leave before having a few. It's a great place for kids, ours had a blast. We did plenty of excursions. Definitely do the snorkeling at the coral reef. The most amazing thing we have done by far!

We are a family of 5 and this vacation is well worth the $. It has a few flaws but overall value for money is great. The junior suite was spacious for all of us and clean. The food was good, had something for everyone. The staff really makes this resort stand out. I would definitely return in the future.

the location is fine, close enough to the airport and the beach is clean and nice. The majority of the staff was very pleasant and reachable, the premises very clean and kept; the food was plenty and had a variety of choices to allow guest to eat differently each meal and each day. The entertainment was excellent, I admired the staff for the long hours and clean smiles all day long. The staff from Sunwing was very helpful and informed when recommending and organizing the trips for guests. I would go back anytime and recommend to my friends.

I visited this resort in March with family and friends. At first I was a bit skeptical as the vacation was the least expensive we could find for the timing that we wanted to go. I was pleasantly suprised at the overall experience we had and would also definitely consider returning to the hotel for future vacations ! The beach was beautiful and the pool was a good size and the water was warm. The kids club was the best ever. Julio was like the Pied Piper with all the resort kids following him to do various activities with most of them being poolside which was great as the kids weren't too far out of sight. The nightly entertainment was of a high calibre with professional style dancers and fun comedy shows. The food was typical for Cuba however we always found something to eat. Loved the pasta bar and the a la carte's were pretty decent too. Overall I would recommend this place for a family vacation.

We had two large rooms for 4 of us. Second floor in standard buildings is better, because of outside balcony. Food was fresh and good. Beach is big and clean,white sand. A lot of activates and excursions We spent most of the time on the beach and next to the pool. Weather was nice but first 3 days March 12-14 were unusually windy.. I love this place.

I loved it, it was clean, well token care of, the grounds were beautiful,neat, colorful and the people were friendly and eager to please you. The main bar area was comfortable and spacious, it was fun, a lot of activites and stuff for everyone, kids teens and adults. I will be returning with all my kids and their mates . Can't wait

Nice Hotel and the food was surprisingly good. Staff was friendly and the resort well kept. Excellent value for the price. I'll go back. Only one fly in the ointment. I bought Cigars at the store beside the Cadeca just out the gate of the resort. Got ripped off large. Went back the next day after I discovered the real price. However a different lady was there. Couldn't/wouldn't make it right. Had to leave the next day and never did get it fixed. So, my advice is avoid that store. Its right beside the Cadeca. Sells Cigars, Rum and souvenirs. Other than that a very decent week.

Good resort with lots to do. Food was good and plenty of it. Wonderful staff, very friendly. Our room was way to close to the disco....music until 3:00 am. Pool was well looked after, bar at the beach made the best Pina coladas.

grounds ok, room poor, food poor, staff service is very poor we will not return to this resort. we have been to 7 resort in cuba this is the worst one. stray cats where all over the resort water features not in working order staff is more interested scamming the resort and supplying their friends with goods intended for tourists

Grounds well maintained, people so friendly, food was good, hola sun representative very helpful, beach was great while a lot of sea weed washed up the staff was diligent in keeping at bay, the night show and entertainment staff execelent, kids program and overall care was second to none. The bartenders very patient and kind (they deserved to be tipped) The waiters and cooks also need to be tipped as they go the extra mile, the only complaint was the disco noise after hours (goes to 4.am too much BOOM BOOM after a while you cant hear yourself think never mind sleep)

Not a 5 star, but a very relaxing environment. Smaller resort,junior suites are sufficent 1 buffet restaurant, decent variety. Beach bar that serves hamburgers and hotdogs (fries) which they never have, fried plantains instead Great coffee bar, open 7 am to 11 pm and a 24 hour lobby bar, good Spanish coffee for after dinner. A la carte are nice, but again definitely not 5 star. Pretty good evening shows and a good entertainment staff.If you are going to shop there basically isn't any in this area. This is a beach holiday location.

We've been to Gran Club 4 times now and this time was the best ever. Staff are always welcoming and accommodating. The entertainment staff go out of their way to please everyone and work alot of hours in the day. Food was better than ever, plenty of fresh fruit, breads and eggs in the morning, we love their bacon awesome. Usually the food is a little blah but this time it seemed like a bigger variety of pork, chicken and ice cream for desert was absolutely delicious. The weather could have been better but that's mother nature. Our room was clean and everything was working except for a light bulb in the bathroom, we asked to have it changed but it was never done ah well that's Cuba. We liked the beach clubs snack bar- hamburgers, hot dogs and fries really good. Bring ketchup, mustard, peanut butter and maple syrup for the French toast and pancakes. Hurray for Cuba.

Everything was excellent. There was no complaints from day one. Staff food and grounds were great. The people were so friendly and helpful.I enjoyed every day Iwas there and do plan to go again .Drinks by the pool was the best just so relaxing. i will count the months till I return.

It was a party every night. There are 2 clubs within walking distance. Stick to buying beer there because they rip you off on mixed drinks. The hotel was clean and the staff was great but the food made me and my friends sick. I travel a lot and never get the runs and this time I did. Bring snacks, you'll appreciate it. The A la cartes were awful, don't bother and they don't have most items on the menu. All and all it was good for the price.

The hotel was very open and not over built on like the Breezes next door. the staff were very friendly. the entertainment was great. There were a lot of activities to sign up for. The Catamaran tour was fantastic I have never seen so many beautiful fish.

This was my second time staying at Gran Club and there is a reason I went back. The staff are amazing, friendly and courteous. When I go back to Santa Lucia, I will either be staying with friends and family or at this resort again. Love the people!

This was our third trip to Cuba. The first two times we went to Varadero and thought we would like to try somewhere different. It was a great price when we booked so we didn't have anything to loose. I'll break down the stay. Room: we had booked a junior suite but weren't given one (which we weren't aware of until other patrons we met told us) but we had complained about our room for other reasons and were given a bungalow. The first row of units are bungalows and have no adjoining rooms which make it private. They are spacious and have a balcony. However, many of the rooms need a little TLC. Air conditioner wasn't working well near the end of the stay, the shower pressure was poor as water continued to come out the tub tap even when you pulled it up for the shower. There are no bath tubs even though the website said there were. Paint was bubbling on the walls and peeling a little, and not all rooms had working safes. With the little issues I wouldn't want to be there during busy season as there would be no rooms to switch to. The furniture is out dated but the rooms were clean and we only noticed a few bugs. Grounds: they were well kept. Once again there could have been a little TLC as they had pottery fish with the room numbers and a number of them were broken. Also a number of lights were broken. There are a bunch of cats outside the buffet that were super friendly. Staff: The animation staff were friendly and a number of the wait staff were as well. However, their English was not as strong among the cleaning staff, the wait staff and at reception. If you have any concerns we learned it is best to go to your Sunwing Rep. Food: Half of the buffet was closed. There was not much variety day to day. The pasta, pizza and grill were good. There was always a few types of fruit, cheese and meat but not much variety. The bread was fresh and really good. It got a little boring. The snack bar by the beach had it's own menu but did not always have what it said it had. As for drinks, they didn't have the slushy machines going. The only place to get slushy drinks was the lobby bar. Great ice caps. They wait staff just needed to pay a little more attention to detail. We were often assisted to get a drink but no refills. Also, there was rarely a spoon. I lost count of how many times I had to eat ice cream with a fork. There were a few high chairs but we discovered they weren't always cleaned. They had containers you could take food to your room but you weren't allowed to take cutlery. Beach: The beach was really nice but there was a lot of seaweed in the water. They tried their best to clean up the seaweed daily that washed up but there wasn't anywhere to really swim with out it. As it was low season there was always a chair available. Pool: nice and clean, always able to get a chair as there weren't many people at the resort. We were told there were 90 of us. The weekend was a little busy with locals coming in for a short stay. Al la Cartes: We were told we were suppose to get 3 but the lady that did the booking told us we were only getting one. By the time we found out we were suppose to have 3 it was to late. We went to the seafood one. It was ok but the portions were small. There was no lobster on the menu. The shrimp still had it's head, tail, feet and scales on it. It was too difficult to de shell. Other notes: They do not supply face clothes Water is cheaper at the little plaza next door They do not stock your fridge in your room with water, pop and beer. It is cheaper to get Corona at the store on the resort then the plaza next to the resort. Website says there are two pools, but there is only one Website says there are bath tubs, there are none There is a nice little restaurant in the plaza next to the resort The games room was a little drab as was the disco, maybe due to the lack of patrons. All in all this was an average stay. The people we met staying there helped make the trip more enjoyable.

Let me start off by saying that I have travelled to this resort multiple times... The last trip was my 8th visit. The staff at this resort make this place your home. They are hands down some of the nicest and most genuine people you will meet. Please take some time to get to know them! The food is good... You can always find something to eat! They have fresh fruit and veggies at every meal and at the snack bar. The selection is determined by what is in season at the time you travel. There is always something at the grill station... Pork, fish, chicken etc. If you want a change there is a restaurant at the commercial center next door that has amazing food... The pizza is killer (mmm... Lobster pizza) along with other good choices! The drinks are good and plentiful! Have to have a nice coffee from the lobby bar... Mmm great way to start your day with or without liquor :) The rooms are clean but dated... It's an old resort that they are working hard at upgrading it. They are doing constant maintenance to keep it going! The pool is cleaned daily as is the beach. The beach has seaweed but you just need to go past the first two feet and your clear. Book the jr suite... Keeps you closer to the action. Not so far to walk to everything!

Everyone is SUPER friendly. He resort is very basic. No frills or thrills. Beach. Rooms. Bars. Food-very simple(platain, porc everything, rice) if your a vegetarian bring your own provisions (peanut butter/protein bars). If you want a cheap beach getaway ... This is it. If you want to feel like royalty for a week. This is not it!!

Had a great time at gran club Santa Lucia. The staff really are outstanding. Very peaceful and layed back atmosphere. The kiddy club was fantastic, friends children were busy and having a good time. Only giving 2 stars as Cuba is our destination every year, our room had no balcony or walkout and quite a few are like that and we prefer cayo coco.

The resort was clean, the people very friendly, the entertainment staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. A resort you always want to come back to... If there were any problems, someone always made sure that it was resolved. Might not be right away but it got resolved. The food...I have never had any complaints, always fresh and good variety. The beach is clean, chairs are hard to find unless you go early but other than that beautiful beach. Always something to do and the shows are amazing. So much talent!!! I would definitely recommend this place...always something to do.

I went with my mother in end of March 2014. The food is really good - amazing when compared to other cuban resorts. The rooms are old but very clean. The entertainment crew is absolutely amazing. If you have young kids and are planning on taking them - go for it!!!! They will be kept busy from start to finish and will be in good hands. If you just want to relax, read, and lounge around (like us!): no problem. No one will bother you. It's peaceful and quiet but still lots of games going on. The beach is beautiful: soft white sand, many chairs, clean overall. We loved it and would definitely return, despite the fact that it's a 1+ hour drive from the airport.

I've been to a few resorts in cuba but they don't make u feel as welcome as gran club... the resort is clean and very homey...the staff makes u feel great!! I've been there 3 times and can't wait to go back! ! I recommend gran club to everyone!
