I loved the hotel but too many stairs It was like a little condo with almost everything. The view on the 10th floor was amazing. Food was edible but super salty. I ended up with edema. Older people can't handle all that salt

Although it's a tad bustling for us quiet folks, I still recommend this resort. It's terraced so involves a bit of walking up and down to your room and to the beach dining hall BUT the open-air truck is always there to shuttle you. Plenty of activities around if you want them. When we're there (Feb/Mar 2025), the food is plentiful and of good variety. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the house-keeping very good. Depending on your booking, your room can be very spacious, such a treat! Some nights, music can be loud but usually quiet down around mid-night. Within walking distance, you have a few mini markets, pharmacies, a couple decent restaurants/cafe, an art gallery, and massage places. Not too far away there're towns such as Santa Cruz, and La Crucecita to explore.

The hotel itself was fine. Clean, maintained well. The staff were friendly. The food at the buffet was not very good. You could usually find something that was ok. The breakfast restaurant on the 7th floor pool area was good and the Italian a la cart was good.

This was our fourth stay at Park Royal Huatulco, big rooms in a small, quiet, comfortable resort built into the steep hillside for great views. Staff are amazing, everything is clean and everyone is cared for! 2 pools, beautiful views & beach sitting area (ocean is not very swimmable at resort). The resort foods are fresh, local, and basic, healthy offerings. Restaurants and shops are available in the resort and across the street, and it's a quick taxi ride away from La Crucecita, snorkeling beaches and more! A calm quiet "hidden gem" (so don't tell others, ha ha!)

I am not usually someone who writes reviews, but I felt that I had to write one for this resort. This was the worst hotel that I've stayed in Huatulco! Its located on a hill and to get to the beach you have to wait too long for the cart to take you there. The beach is very small and it is more competitive than usual to get a palapa for shade, you have to get up very early in the morning. It is very noisy with loud entertainment and music all day long on the beach. Rooms were clean, mattresses were very stiff, with fridge that offered water only, no soft drinks or beer. The food is the same everyday and not too many choices and everything is cooked in advance. There is no grill stations like in other resorts for meat, fish or pasta.. Would not return.

Hotel was great. Rooms large and very clean. Great service. Amazing views. Location was fantastic !! Great pool on 7th floor with all amenities Not recommended if you have mobility issues - lots of stairs

My first impression of the hotel.... nobody was there to greet us. I was very disappointed. First time that this has ever happened to us. We carried our own luggage up the stairs. Hotel is located in the side of a mountain/hill. Lots and lots of stairs. No elevators. The hotel provided rides up and down to your room and to the beach area. The rooms were nice and spacious. You will get lots of exercise staying at the Park Royal. The food was nothing great. Wasn’t happy with really any of it. Took a long time to get a glass of water with your meal. Breakfast is your best bet. Pools were nice. One thing to know about this hotel....Its not on the ocean. Brush up on your Spanish lessons, You will need it.

This was our third time at Park Royal, Huatulco. The resort was great value. Very good food, excellent service and spacious, clean suites with huge balconies. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes for the shuttle to the beach. Our only suggestion would be to have more lounge chairs at the beach and pools.

We stayed at the Park Royal for two weeks in February and enjoyed every minute of our holiday. The weather was hot and sunny everyday. They always have a red flag at the beach, (although the other hotels don’t) but we swam in the ocean almost everyday. It is easier to get in the water a little further down the beach. Both pools were nice and clean and we never had difficulty finding chairs with shade. The food was good at the buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner), but we often ate at the a la carte restaurant because it was so nice there. The main courses at dinner there were poor, which was disappointing because the service and atmosphere were fantastic. The service everywhere at the hotel was top notch! We have never stayed at any hotel, anywhere in the world that was this clean! The place is spotless. The staff are hardworking and friendly. We will definitely return.

The suites were beautiful, clean very spacious and spectacular view from the huge deck. The helpers were lovely, some quite innocently angelic, a real highlight of the trip to interact with these sweet people. The food was fabulous, abundant varieties, ethnic themes. interesting, healthy choices, beautiful fresh fruits, and decadent desserts. The worst was the blasting loud music at the pool which flooded the beach area, insensitive to the age and feedback from the patrons and making it difficult to relax. We frequently walked down the beach and stretched out in front of another resort for peace and quiet. Also there were not enough lounge chairs or shade umbrellas at our beach. All the chairs were taken, reserved by towels, by 9 or 10 am. The music during the dinner shows was also too loud, forcing people to eat outside and not see the show, or come to dinner early before the shows started. Canadians are generally too polite to give feedback but may choose another vacation spot next time. I gave my feedback about the noise to the manager on our departure.

food was good- enough veggies! rooms were good. there is a step between sleeping area and bathroom that is dangerous. all staff is very nice. the music at the pool beside the beach was too loud at many times.

The room we had was beautiful! The staff was amazing and went above and beyond I can’t wait to come back every year from now on! We love park Royal and Huatulco thank you so much to all the staff!!!!!

Had a great vacation at Park Royal in Huatulco. The hotel was lovely, the food was pretty good, but the staff was the best part. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The only down side was the beach, the beachfront is very steep and the water rough for an older person. The 20-30 year olds were having a blast with it. Regardless, there are two pools you can use to cool down if the beach is not for you. Also, many nice beaches in the area that you can cab to for very little money. I would recommend this vacation spot.

This is a smaller resort, across from the ocean. The rooms are large and clean. It has ten stories, built into a hillside. There are 2 main pools, one on the seventh floor and one on the beach. Most of the activities are on the beach. They have carts, constantly going between the beach, and all floors of the hotel. This is instead of an elevator, so it takes a little getting used to, but there was little waiting. We were quite surprised to walk in our room , on the fifth floor, and find a large suite, with an ocean view. Staff kept everything very clean. The outdoor balcony was huge. This is not a 5 star hotel, but if you are looking for something clean, comfortable and friendly, you can't go wrong..

This hotel was very clean and I enjoyed the trolley to take you around and to the beach. Loved the big waves at the beach for swimming. Only downside was had to switch rooms due to lrg air conditioners off side of first balcony room- super loud and unsightly.Second room had great view but in all honesty looking at roofs of other buildings wasn't great so I focused on the ocean and palm trees and hills of the mountains. I do wish the hotel had a few more tv channels in english for a the end of the night as I like to unwind to tv. The foods was really good except the pizza at the 7th floor restauraunt was a joke and it was the only meal I got sick from. The cheese and toppings had basically been placed on top of a pre-made boring crap crust. Otherwise, all the other meals were great. I wish I was back there now, I truly enjoyed the whole trip encluding a visit to La Crucecita and to Chdruyi for ice cream and shopping for hot sauces etc. Also, at the beach restaurant, having two kinds of music is annoying, but the food and friendly servers made up for that. I would kill for some authentic chips and green salsa right now. Entertainment was fun but not great.

We really enjoyed this resort. It was unique from any resort I have visited and can be a bit deceiving, with regards to the layout, when you first arrive. The rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff is amazing and there is enough food choices for everyone! The upper on level 7 was our favourite.

we travelled with four adults all of us were over all very impressed how well hotel was run. We felt safe comfortable and lots of things to do in the area around the hotel. The shuttle that takes you from your room to lobby or beach works well.

Very clean and well maintained resort with perfect weather if you like it hot. 32-33 degrees Celsius every day we were there in January. Staff were very accommodating and polite during our stay. Very enjoyable.

Interesting layout. The "terrace-floor" concept ( a trolley works as an elevator, taking people up and down from one level to the other) is definitively ingenious, but it is also a bit tedious. The personnel is very friendly, polite, the hotel is extremely clean and the food is adequate. The only problem I found was the music on the beach (the management concept of "entertainment" ) which was playing INCESSANTLY , loud and VERY tiring. The "music" of the ocean, of the birds, of the nature was killed by this permanent sound track "offered" by the hotel . Too bad as the view of the ocean is magnificent.

Great view wonderful staff , large room building 10 has highest and best view of the bay out of all the resorts in the area. Resort built into a hill side . Amenities and food very much a 3 star. However staff are over the top accommodating and friendly . Although the rooms are on the hillside there is a pool and dining room on the beach front with regular shuttles. Hutalutco is a very beautiful place be sure to check out la cruceicita especially at night. Taxi is 43 peso from resort to town square (plus tip) The best way to contact the people at the resort seems to be their Facebook page 'park royal huatulco'

this hotel is built on the side of a mountain. it has a unique layout as there is a cable car to bring you up to the different floor levels. the food was good and the beach was great. it is undergoing renovations.

I loved the location, and the view from our balcony was spectacular. We were on the 10th level. Our room was very nice and the entire resort including our room was spotless, especially the washrooms. I enjoyed the pool on the 7th level. Also, breakfast was really nice in the 7th level restaurant. You could enjoy the wonderful view overlooking the ocean and it was nice watching and listening to the birds during breakfast. It's the coolest time of day to get things done. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach was nice. They do need more beach chairs to go around. They have a small beach access and lots of people spent their time right on the beach. I think this allowed people to mix and mingle which was nice with a beach bar and washrooms close by. Did I say the washrooms were spotless? Absolutely! We went to town twice for dinner in the evening. We also went to two different beaches by cab to snorkel, swim and have lunch. The food at the resort was okay. Some food was cold in the pans in the buffett. I found we had breakfast and lunch on the 7th level and dinner at the buffet. During our stay the resort was occupied by a lot of Mexican families. We had a very positive experience meeting and vacationing with Mexican's. They are very family oriented, quiet and very friendly always happy to chat a bit and help us with our spanish. The best part....they didn't smoke! I would definitely come back to this resort because you get good value for the price, the friendly staff, cleanliness and view.
