Sunscape Coco Punta Cana — Beautiful resort, but VERY loud! Sunscape Coco Punta Cana is a very pretty resort with a beautiful beach, lovely pools and wonderful staff. But there is one thing I think people absolutely need to know before booking: this is a party resort, and it is LOUD. In fact, it is the loudest resort I have ever stayed at. If you’re looking for a lively, energetic, party atmosphere, this may be exactly what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, I would seriously reconsider. Of the six nights we were there, we called Security twice very late at night because people had music absolutely blaring. One of those nights also involved people arguing, crying and fighting. We eventually started wearing earplugs to bed and still regularly woke up because of the noise. It wasn’t just an occasional disturbance—it was a pretty consistent part of the experience. The room: We had a swim-out room, which was fabulous. The room itself was perfectly sufficient, and the swim-out pool was lovely and, thankfully, much quieter than the rest of the resort. The beach: Absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, the seaweed was extremely prominent during our stay. The water was basically a murky tea colour, it smelled, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to go swimming in it. This is apparently a seasonal issue, so it’s not something the resort can really control. We enjoyed sitting by the beach and taking in the view, but did all of our swimming in the pools. The beach vendors are fairly aggressive. You just have to be assertive.  The pools: Clean and enjoyable. Our swim-out pool was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. The food: I’ll give them an A for effort. They clearly work hard to make the food look appealing and offer plenty of variety. But honestly, the food was just okay—maybe one step above what I’ve experienced at some Cuban resorts, but not much. There were things we enjoyed, but overall, food was not a highlight of the trip. Definitely go to the restaurants in the evening if you can.  The staff: This is where the resort really shines. The staff worked incredibly hard and were genuinely wonderful. Many employees didn’t speak much English, so I found myself wishing I had brushed up on my very rusty Spanish! We tipped very generously throughout our stay because we really appreciated the effort everyone put in: $5 at dinner, $1 at breakfast and lunch, $1 to the gentleman who made my egg-white omelettes, $1 whenever we got drinks, $5 for expedition bus drivers, $20 for the boat captains & crew, $5 a day for our room cleaner, and even $1 whenever I exchanged money at the front desk. $1 for anyone who helped me with my suitcase. Everyone seemed to appreciate it, and we were treated wonderfully. Excursions: We did an expedition that was an all-day adventure to Saona Island and a lot of fun. It involved quite a bit of travelling to get there, but we really enjoyed it. We also went paragliding, which was both fun and scary as hell! Definitely an experience I won’t forget. Overall, I’m glad we experienced Sunscape Coco Punta Cana. It’s a beautiful resort, the swim-out room was fantastic, the staff were wonderful, and we had some really fun experiences. Would I return? Probably not—and the reason is almost entirely the noise. I can handle a lively resort, but the level of nighttime noise was just too much for me. So my biggest piece of advice is: if you want a party, music, activity and a lively atmosphere, Sunscape Coco Punta Cana could be a great fit. If you want a quiet, relaxing vacation where you can sleep peacefully at night, I would choose somewhere else.

Stayed at the resort for 7 days not a day in our stay where the beach is cleaned from seaweeds. Water is dark brown, aside from weeds it looks as if the oil from all the yatch , boats that are docked there are all in the water. It didn’t say in the description that it’s a few feet away from marine dock. We were also hassled by the people at the beach, hard to relax when they swarm you trying to sell you anything and everything. These hasslers also keep saying “Nihao” indirectly to me although I’m not Chinese which I think is very disrespectful to the Chinese people and to me The rooms smelled bad like sewer. The pillows are smelly although the cleaners changed the casings. The AC is not cold enough. We were also asked to be in a meeting the next morning after we arrived but because we decided to sleep in and not show up for the meeting when I asked AirCanada rep in Sunscape about our pick up time the day before our check out he said “ you missed your chance, you are all not in the list because you didn't show up in the meeting” The meeting is just about selling activities of things to do in Punta Cana which are far more expensive than buying online. The rep gave us a hard time before telling us the pick up time for airport transpo. He was asking for eticket number which I couldn’t provide at the time bec it was in my email and there is NO WIFI at the front desk area and at the Windows buffet area. I was ready to loose it and call the airline itself. We were also scammed at the airport by some dude named Miguel who lured us to go to Hard Rock Cafe for free breakfast buffet and discounted activities. On the way back to Canada 2 of my children were placed on stand by bec the plane was full they said. I don’t understand bec I paid for the package, I will understand if they seat at random spot and not together bec they didn’t buy preferred seats. Been on the trip with my family and it’s the first time I’ve experienced being harassed everywhere we go in Dominican Republic. Another thing, I do not know how someone from DR was able to make a $5.68 purchase using my account from the name “Rafael Mendez” which I denied bec I didn’t authorized him to make this purchase . I also recieved a reset password for my apple ? This is my first and last visit there.

Service very slow. Front desk is slow took 2 hours to check in. Restaurant very slow. It takes 20 mins to get your drinks. Also asked for an extra towel and blanket on the app. Stayed for 7 days never got the extra towel or blanket

Best part of entire week was the great weather. Sunscape Coco was nice. Nothing to write home about. It is also quite large with 17 buildings with 14 of them on one side of the main pool, buffet and lobby. If you have mobility issues please make sure you request a room in a building close to the lobby/buffet as they do not have golf carts to move people around. I was disappointed by the food. Not much sea food for a resort right on the ocean. But mostly I was disappointed by some of the staff, especially the main pool swim-up bar bartenders, and the guy at the main buffet grilling the chicken and beef (center grill). They made us feel like we were bothering them or taking from them even though we tipped generously. Sadly their attitude left a bad taste for us in regards to Punta Cana. Won't be returning there. Having said that the hotel was clean, food was editable, most of the staff was nice and friendly, and the beach was nice.

Grounds were very nice and maintained. Room was good other than no drawers to unpack. So living out of suitcase was a hassle.Food was adequate, found alot of people aaying they were sick. Not sure from food or too much sun. Entertainment was excellent and team were great. Pool,not enough chairs or umbrellas so by 530 am all the chairs were saved with towels.we found multiple saved chairs were stolen with no regret from thieves when confronted. Solution more umbrellas and chair. Still we thought resort was ok.would we go there again probabely not.

The hotel is beautiful very clean and well maintained .Staff were friendly When we arrived a group of 6 of us they had 2 in building 3 2 in building 10 and 2 in building 11 after some complaining the desk guy got all 6 of us in building 3 so that made us happy .The 2 buffets were great quite a variety everyday found kalidascope a lot quieter than windows but overall both were good .The only restaurant all of us went to was chopsticks the food and chef were wonderful .The pool was clean and very lively daily .Activities going on music playing was pretty good but busy.The beach had lots of seaweed every morning but they had it all cleaned up by 10 it is very close to a marina so lots of boats to see getting loaded to go on excursions again lots of daily music and activities going on .White soft sand and pretty good views .overall our group had fun and not to much to complain about but there is a few and they are as follows no Spanish coffees at all .yes you can get coffees and capachinos but all in paper throw away cups .The resort is huge and very very busy so long lines to get coffees not alot of seating in shade to enjoy said coffees .Long lines at most restaurants except the buffets .Alot of vendors bugging you everyday at beach and pool.Pool chairs and beach chairs need to be saved early and when you get them everybody is so close you can't really move them around to stay in shade of umbrella so you fry .Hard to get a spot in the pool without getting volley balls flying around or kids jumping in almost on top of you so keep that in mind .The rooms were very nice beds were comfortable pillows were also comfy .One maid wouldn't give me bottled water in the evening but the day maid gave me 6 bottles the next day so that was good. We really enjoyed hanging out in the evening at the sports bar it had a nice patio to dance on so we brought our own speaker and did that most nights and Richard is an absolute gem of a bartender he took great care of us all week and makes the best chocolate martinis we loved him and his sense of humor he was great ❤️ So if you like alot of people and vendors and line ups this is a great resort .

The Hotel was spacious and clean .Great layout to all the amenities. The food was oooh so good , fresh and great variety. Very pleased . Wasn't very pleased with the sports bar if was too small .For such a large resort with hundreds of guests to have such a small evening dancing area didn't make sense .however great vacation had by all .

The 1 major complaint we had. Was the main Lobby ( which was nice layout) The furniture in the Lobby was in very Poor condition, and not plentiful , Too bad because this is the first thing people see when first arriving, or have to gather to on raining eveing,s which we had too. The addition of better furniture and more plentiful would be a big asset for that Hotel. We were at this Hotel aprox 8yrs ago known as Belive, the upgrades made for nice inprovements.

This hotel could use some newer lobby furniture. But otherwise the hotel was modern and fresh looking. Grounds were well kept. Staff were very friendly. We were assigned building 16 for the swim out room. Staff informed us that it was a long walk for my partner that had mobility issues. The next morning we asked to be moved to a closer room to amenities. They were accommodating and upgraded us to the Club section for $60 per night US. On seeing the room, we were impressed and enjoyed the rest of our stay. We must say the food was good but the choices never changed much from lunch to dinner. Breakfast was great. Room service was slow but food was still warm when brought to the room. I would stay in the Club section again because of the convenience to all amenities.

I just wanted to say our travel agent was great to deal with! I found the resort itself very overcrowded. I liked our room, building #4. It was a central location to the pool, beach and lobby. Pool & beach were nice but very overcrowded & you had to get up & claim a lounge chair by 6am. If you waited until 7am you were scrambling. There was variety of food but mid level. Sometime the buffet would seat you other times not. It was very confusing. One morning the smaller buffet restaurant ran out of coffee. Kept saying 5 mins, an hour later still no coffee. Coffee bar had huge line ups and only 2 staff. Staff itself were very pleasant but I felt they were understaffed. I feel it is because of overflow of Cuba resorts being closed. Some of the bars did not have vodka, some days the bars did not have beer. You’d have to go from bar to bar to find a drink you wanted. Bartenders were excellent. I found the à la carte restaurants were very slow to get drinks and food out. For the most part I had a great vacation. I did like the resort it was a good size. Just too busy for my liking. My husband & I will stick with the luxury resorts.

The grounds, beach and pools are all very nice and clean. If you want a Lounge chair in the shade be prepared to go put a towel out by 6:30am. The food was ok but not great. Sometimes it could have been warmer. The service was inconsistent. Some servers were very friendly and attentive but many times we were left hoping someone would come by to refill drinks or remove plates etc.

The resort is clean and nice. We enjoyed our stay. I did find it under staffed. Our rooms were not cleaned till very late in the day. Our fridge didn’t get stalked properly. Towel shortage and pool lounge chairs and beach chairs were an issue with not enough for the amount of people.

The trip was organized incredibly well, the hotel was beautiful, rooms were clean and buffets had selection. There was minimal issue with a language barrier, however that is to be expected and wasn’t hard to manage a way to figure it out. Overall we had a great trip and we loved it.

We were a group of six with 3 rooms in the sunclub. Our room was a swim out. The rooms were clean and only had a couple days where our fridge didn’t get restocked. There is construction going on next door which was quite loud every day. Definitely impacted the enjoyment of the swim out room. There are plenty of food options and bars throughout the resort. The new no reservations for restaurants is super annoying as you can wait several hours to get seated. There seems to be staffing deficit as we struggled to even get water at the buffets. Definitely a huge lack of lounge chairs around pools and at the beach. Ended up renting Bali beds a couple days.

The entertainment staff were amazing, Coca-Cola and Timon were non-stop the whole time we were there and were very good at engaging with all of the guests, no matter what the guest's primary language was. The dancers, musicians and singers were amazing, a different show every night. They did a really good job of adapting when the shows were moved inside because of the weather. The food was amazing! There were long waits at the a la carte restaurants, so we went to the buffet for every meal and were very happy to do so. Dinner options changed every night, so there was a good variety to chose from. The workers there are amazing as well; a shoutout to Grimil who took care of us every night, making sure we found a good table and keeping our drinks topped up. He was a real sweetheart. And to the pasta station as well who remembered my order after just a couple of nights. I would say the one that that may need improvement is the housekeeping. Some days our room wasn't cleaned until after 5:00 p.m., which made it tricky if we wanted to go back to the room for anything in the middle of the day. But other than that, we would love to go back again. The location is amazing too, a perfect distance from the airport so no long bus ride to and from, so you can maximize your time at the resort.

It was okay. Our room was lovely. The beach had lots of seaweed and lots of vendors that want you to looky looky. I was disappointed in the Ala carte restaurants. They only took reservations at 1 of them, and nothing was available in the 2 weeks we were there. The other restaurants had line ups, and if you didn't get in you just wasted an hour standing in line. Also we only found 3 restaurants, it's a huge resort. The food was typical buffet style.

Between Sky, Mr Pineapple Mr Handsome and the rest of the entertainment team, this resort goes above and beyond! Daily games and nightly shows kept me laughing and playing for 2 weeks. They learned my name and always stopped for a quick hello. Definitely 10/10

All I have to say is terrible food, rude and lazy service at restaurants and bars unless you tip big, room was under construction and overall not worth the money. Got taken to the hospital due to parasites and food poisoning from poor hygiene and food prep practices.

Grounds were lovely. Very poorly run hotel. We were Sun Club ...ment nothing. Got seats at the pool once ,at 4 in the afternoon. The lack of band and not having to book for The restaurants and lining up for ages was an epic fail.

The room was fabulous. Buffet had lots of variety. Staff were friendly. Pool aquafit excellent as well as game activities! Mexican restaurant good, others difficult to figure app & you had to pay $50 American which surprised us so we didnt go. Excursions of monkeys & four wheelers great but bus switching confusing.

First off reading reviews on trip advisor I was wondering if I made the wrong choice of resort. I was so happy we didn't listen and change resorts. The deluxe pool view room was always clean and fridge restocked daily if not you just have to ask. Pools 7 or 8 in total werent perfectly cleaned but what resorts are. Beach was lovely and large ,sargassum but not resorts fault someone always cleaning. Buffet always had plenty of choices so you never went hungry. Went to Tierra Amazonian restaurant 2X loved it Bluewater Grill 2X loved it Mexican X1 Downside lineups for all , your on vacation grin and bere it All servers were happy and did a great job but the resort could use alot more in all areas. The resort is alot of walking if you have problems no golf carts . They absolutely need more garbage cans and maybe someone walking around cleaning up after ungrateful guests who are too lazy to pick up after themselves We would definitely come back

We travelled to this resort as a group of 14 people ages ranging from 2-73. We all had an excellent time. The rooms were great, spacious, and set up nicely although there are no dressers to unpack your clothing. Pools were cleaned daily, although with the amount of swimmers had a film on top of what seems like sunscreen. Beaches were also cleaned daily but with the constant waves there was always some seaweed left behind throughout the day. Nightly entertainment on the stage or at the beach was always entertaining. Buffet was great always had a variety of food and we were always able to find something to eat. No issues with the food. Went to three à la carte and they were all delicious and hot. Reservations for chopsticks needed through the app. Mexican restaurant was a wait in line to be seated and the Italian restaurant gave us a buzzer and we had to stay close until it went off. We would definitely return for another visit in the future.

The grounds are very well maintained. not enough garbage containers around. The entertainment people are great specially Chocalate. miss having foam parties when it was BeLive. I have been at this location 10 times and will continue to come back as long as I get treated the way I have in the past.

It met my expectations. The people who work there are excellent. The food was good, but the pizza area needs improvement; I think it needs more staff! The air conditioning needs to be improved in the rooms.

We had an amazing stay at Sunscape Coco Punta Cana and truly enjoyed every part of our vacation. The resort is beautiful, very clean, and well maintained. The staff were exceptional — friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile, which made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent, with a great variety of options at both the buffet and the à la carte restaurants. Everything was fresh and well prepared. The beach was stunning, with soft sand and clear water, and there were plenty of activities and entertainment throughout the day, as well as relaxing options when we wanted quiet time. Overall, it was an excellent experience and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely recommend Sunscape Coco Punta Cana to friends and family and would happily return in the future.

This is an older resort. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Housekeeping was minimal but as I said the rooms were clean. The grounds are very pretty, the beach is very nice and there was alot of seaweed on the beach when we were there over Christmas. The staff were friendly and service was basic but good. Tony in the restaurant is fantastic! It is a lower cost resort and that is reflected in the service. We had a great time at this resort. It was difficult to get in to the A la Carte but the buffet was quite good.

It is located a short drive from the airport. A very clean and well maintained resort. It is the smallest one I have been to however the benefits are that you don’t have to walk long distances to get to the restaurant or cafés and even the beach is right there. On my trip all the staff at the Cafe , bars and restaurants were amazing. Customer service was great. Cleanliness of the rooms and the public washrooms was fantastic. I also noticed that this resort was very wheelchair friendly although I do not have a use of it. There were ramps everywhere, which is great. In case someone from the resort is reading this I would request that staff be trained to wipe down the steam nozzle of the espresso machine after each use. Nightly entertainment was good. Entertainment was great. I cannot think of any shortcomings.

This hotel was wonderful. Everything was close so there wasn’t a lot of walking. The beach was beautiful. The grounds were clean, the rooms were clean, the buffet was lovely lots of choices and the green juice was delicious. We were there over Christmas and the Christmas Eve dinner was one of the best I have ever seen. Above and beyond all the way. Our house keeper was so beautiful she was friendly and was singing Christmas songs. She gave me trouble when I tried to help make the bed haha. Look for Tony in the buffet he is so friendly and speaks excellent English. If I had to say something negative it would be the noise. There are a lot of carts travelling on the pathway and they are very loud. The beach did have a lot of seaweed too but that’s nature. They didn’t use bracelets so we even got to try out some sunclub features because some of our party was staying in sunclub. Over all I would go back and I would get sunclub swim out room!

We spent a week over the Xmas and the place was very busy. The rooms were ok, close to the beach and to short distance to everything. Where this place needs improvement is the food options, services, starting with check-in: it took more than 1h and was past mid-night. Buffet service is slow and sometimes inexistent, waiting for a glass of water or a beer and sometimes was easier and faster to help yourself. Food options were very limited and poor, if I compare with our last experience in DR, for example Ocean Blue or even Senators from Puerto Plata. The beach is nice has lots of chairs available and lots of shades, there was lots of sargassum, and that got cleaned up a few times in a week. The hotel that is the neighbor to left, did a way better job in cleaning it. The entertainment was fine with shows every night. I would recommend this place with one condition if you can get it very cheap. If you get a very good deal, go for it.

Bad service. When you have a complaint about the service they say’ no hablo ingles”. There was no fish in the menu, nor beef. Only pork. Barely any passion fruits. Dirty. Plates are made of plastic; glasses are made of plastic too. The room was clean; however we found 2 cockroaches in the bathroom. The beach was so so dirty: seaweed was removed from the shore only 2x in 7 days, there was plastic in the water, boats were too close to the beach- it smelled like gasoline and it blocked the view

Sunscape coco. The staff are amazing but, the room we were in definitely needed some updating. Pools were great. Mexican restaurant was fabulous we went twice. Buffet always had a lot of choices. Visit the star struck bar and find Rafael. Great bartender.

We had a good family vacation. Our goal was to spend time together and the hotel gave us rooms next to each other. I would say this is a solid 3.5 resort. Pros: Large resort with lots of entertainment. Wi Fi worked well. Food was good. Snacks and drinks were always available. Chairs by the pool and at the beach were easy to find. Beach was nice for walking. Enjoyed the slides at the pool. Overall the resort and rooms were clean. Cons: Swimming at the beach was not something we wanted to do. Quite alot of seaweed and sandy dark water. The app for the buffets was not user friendly. We found them hard to book and most often said nothing available even when we tried booking early. Also they had ala cartes that cost extra even though we were on an all inclusive package. The servers at the buffet were not organized. One night we had problems getting them to bring us utensils. We had a feeling there was some problems between the staff and who was responsible for each area in the buffet.

Over all the resort was beautiful, food was edible at best, getting the mini bar in the room restocked was a daily challenge. Our room was not even ready as requested for when we arrived, the mini bar was not stocked the floor was not cleaned room appeared to have been tidy only the beds were made only. It was a big disappointment from the moment we got there. Don't think I will be returning to this resort anytime soon. - Check in was spending forever waiting in the hot and humid lobby. - We weren't shown to our room. - The key cards for the room door did not work most of the time. - No cold water when we got to the room, only boiling hot from the sink. - Go to take a shower, only cold water 6 out of 7 days we were there. - The bathroom flooded from the ceiling on day 2. - Toilet barely flushes. - no face cloths or hand towels, only big towels - floor was covered in sand - room was not clean upon arrival - mini bar was not stocked, had to beg for bottles of water every day. - didnt get the room we were supposed to get and if we wanted the other room they were going to charge us an extra $500 USD. So that didnt happen. - the staff obviously dont enjoy working here. They dont smile unless you smile at them first. - the vendors selling jewelry at night harass you to try to get you to buy stuff and insult you if you dont. -my husband was sick for 4 days, and I tried to bring back a plate of toast and a banana from the buffet for him, and the staff went off on me, like I was trying to rob the place. So I left it there with them and took the banana, with them chastising me in Spanish angrily. - if you dont speak Spanish, youre basically ignored or passed over by staff. - the nightly entertainment is a joke. Either music so loud it makes your chest vibrate, a magic show so boring even children weren't interested, the same dancers every night, a poor imitation of a circus with 3 jugglers, 2 stilt walkers, a couple of guys doing flips. -no activities during the day -the food was not the greatest. Was told chicken was boneless, had bones in it. All they had for fruit was melon, banana and pineapple. No salad dressing except thin ketchup. Most of the food was either dried out, over cooked/burnt or mushy. -staff barely speak English, and just nod, pretending to understand and not answer your questions. -No towels left when going to the pool or beach. -signs at the pool say no leaving belongings on chairs to reserve them, but not inforced, nowhere to sit at the pool because of this. - nothing but Spanish on the tv in the room NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS RESORT AGAIN!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT!!! Old, outdated, dirty floor, plumbing issues, mini bar was an empty fridge, coffee machine full of non-coffee particles and dirt. None. The environment around this resort was a slum Vendors on the beach force you to take pictures with their parrots, and demand $40 USD for them, threatening you. No security on the beach to protect you from them. Harassed by people from random "party boats" that are on the beach as well. Not too bad, except people allowed to smoke marijuana on the resort and having to smell it wherever you walked.

First off, Trip central was amazing to book with! Once I get over the trauma of this resort, I will book elsewhere! We just returned from the Dominican and I wanted to give you the review we sent to Hyatt Customer Service and they have told me to contact you or Air Canada holidays. I knew the reviews were bad and I knew the resort was bottom of the Hyatt chain, but this resort should honestly be shut down. I have also contacted UVC as a member/owner I am shocked at the difference! We’ve only ever stayed at Dreams Now and Secrets, but this was insane to me. Anyways, I just wanted you to know about the week as I’m sure you may have heard the complaints before as well and I hate to complain! We are all business owners, this was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Booking with you was wonderful and I will book again but definitely NOT this resort and sad the Dominican is off my favourites list. Not at all your fault and I’m thankful for the easy efficient booking process. So RUN don’t walk from the blue shirts! Their membership is useless! My letter is as follows: We just returned from Sunscape coco punta cana (Oct14-21-2025) and as a UVC member, I’m embarrassed I purchased this trip! The list of issues is Endless and trust me when I say, I’ve stayed at lower class resorts that put this resort to shame First of all, we booked 2 rooms. Once they found out we were members, we were immediately shunned! Everyone else offered upgrades and special treatment! I was shocked to witness first hand! Then daughter with infant put in a room beside the party pool with no sleep at all! Offered a room with fee to move and will note we were in separate buildings when requested joined rooms! When moved to a room with no AC…we are all covered in bed bug bites confirmed by the doctor, we have many mosquito bites, but not as many as bed bug bites! They were moving furniture from room to room and our request was just ignored! I asked what the issue was to our Neighbor and they too had the same issues! Covered in bed bugs! We are home now sick and basicly threw away everything we went there with! We ordered water for the infant and literally had to steal from maids cart as not once not twice..10 room service requests were ignored and maid did not understand English. On the app, it showed as pending requests. I phoned front desk and they sent a gentlemen with pop! When the maid seen me taking water for the baby, she took 2 bottles back…and She gave us 2 water! When room service finally showed up on day 4, they delivered 4 more bottles of pop!! No water, no beer…just pop! Our toilet didn’t flush, 2 days we were walking to the sunclub to use their facilities before they finally came with a plunger! Then not one day did we have room service even after showing the maids the bug bites all 5 of us had! Showed them the dirty sheets and moldy curtains and she said something in Spanish and never returned! Then others coming up to our swim up and leaving their empties and cigarette butts in cups….This is LUXURY?? A seven month old covered in bites and nobody cared! No mini bar filled not once in 8 days in either room! No towels! Oh and bring facecloths as they do not supply those either! We also had to help ourselves to the cart! No hot water, and they say to upgrade to Sun club for top luxury?! We tried everyday to book an a la carte..no luck!! The buffets were packed as not all restaurants were open! We booked a beach dinner for my daughters engagement which was 100% ruined as they had other people booked with one swirled light bulb and then still charged us after being told we didn’t show up…I then tried to help them out by booking photos on the beach, then get charged 400.00 for 20 photos after being told 150 for the rushed 5 minute session! This resort is as crooked as they come! Not only did we get eaten alive by bedbugs…we had mold all over our room! Curtains, sheets, walls, table, sofa bed. Now we are all back in Canada after a week of being sick, still sick and traumatized after this week of nothing but disappointment! I understand this resort is a lower class resort, but it is definitely no more than 2 star and that’s only because some staff were very kind and worked very hard. Mostly restaurant staff! This was a surprise engagement for my daughter and was completely ruined! We had 2 rooms. Both Sunclub as we were told to upgrade for added luxury…people from all buildings had the same treatment! 50.00 a day to rent cabanas all to get hounded by aggressive vendors! One vendor had a parrot, and we obviously want to support the locals and felt safe knowing a security guard was right there, he then tells us 50.00 per picture and connected something to my daughters phone, to which her bank account was immediately shut down coincidently for fraud, then confronts my son in law in front of security who is nonchalantly walking in a different direction..so I give him 50.00 to make him go away and the vendor went over and passed the security guard cash! We tip security to keep them away in apparently private zone…so the vendors can pay the security guard to go inside the ropes area…safety is NOT good at all! Offering cocaine and marjuana and getting more and more aggressive the more you say NO…Then The weekend came and locals came for the weekend…what a disgrace! Even our patio chairs were taken right off our deck! We didn’t sit on the sunclub loungers for our room once! Getting service with a smile was never! What exactly is the perks of upgrading?! Paper cups that literally melt in your hand. Spagetti Burgers and hotdogs seemed to be the only things available, unless the buffet was open. Room service had the same on the menus but never came once! We walked to the standard side (not sunclub) as they had a burger bus available. No other restaurants open. Sunclub had the same little dry sandwiches and sweets covered in flys. The cabana at Coco Cafe was falling apart and they were painting and the fumes were so strong your eyes watered! So that was shut down also. Their nightly dinner parties….15 US dollars each to enjoy. Ive never been to a resort that charges for their theme dinners..it’s normally just their buffet food anyways! The pools were all filthy! Rocks and leaves all throughout. We even had a burger bun float right by..this is just a few things I think were inexcusable. Air Canada on the other hand, fantastic! That was the only good portion. After reviewing endless poor reviews a couple weeks prior to our trip, something told me to try to change but it was too close to departure time unfortunately. But in hind sight, we had great weather and flew out the day the weather got bad. So Air Canada was fantastic! I am told this is their low season, so understaffed and not all restaurants will be open!! The sunclub is right beside dreams Flora which is under construction day and night! Between kids running wild in the swim ups all hours and construction…I felt like I was downtown NY City!

The resort rooms are fair but the workmanship in the reno is in need of a little TLC the grounds and beach are in very good shape and the pools seemed ok we try not to do pools. The restaurants lack of variety in selection for example for your toast in the morning no peanut butter and only strawberry jam if you have lactose or gluten free none to be found the staff are very nice I thought that this being an Hyatt resort would compare to the Riu or the Bahai but not close to it.

The resort was very well kept and beautiful. Beach was always cleared of seaweed and staff cleaned up all cups and dishes through out the day. Can't say nicer things about the stuff, always in great moods and very helpful. I do wish there was more a la carte's open but we understand it was off season when we went so not everything is always open. We had a wonderful time and would recommend this resort for anyone looking to have a great vacation.

I stayed at Sunscape Coco Punta Cana for 7 nights and unfortunately, this resort did not meet the standards expected from a Hyatt-affiliated property. We were “upgraded” to the Adults Only section, only to be told upon arrival that children are now allowed there — something not reflected on the website. Had I booked directly, I would have paid a premium for inaccurate information. We accepted the upgrade because of promised perks like a private pool and better proximity to amenities. Sadly, the experience quickly went downhill. The fire alarm in Building #1 went off multiple times every single day from Sunday to Thursday — often as early as 5 AM or late into the evening. Staff told us it was a false alarm caused by someone possibly vaping or smoking, but it continued for days with no resolution. This created not only constant disruption but a serious safety concern — what if there had been a real emergency? The air conditioning in our room barely worked, and the fixed shower head had very low pressure (luckily the handheld one was better). For a resort at this price point, these basic amenities should not be an issue. Many à la carte restaurants were closed (low season), yet no effort was made to adjust the dining experience. Even the disco required you to pay for drinks, and drinks from other bars weren’t allowed. Isn’t this supposed to be an “all-inclusive” resort? The buffet food was mediocre at best, aside from the fresh bread and egg station at breakfast. The beach, shown beautifully in photos online, was completely covered in seaweed and not being maintained. I understand this can be seasonal, but I also expect a resort to make an effort to keep it usable. There were some positives — the resort is visually stunning, the spa is excellent, and the coffee huts are a great touch. I also appreciated the kindness of a staff member from the medical team who gave helpful advice without pressuring us into a paid consultation. That said, I would not return to this resort — even if it were free. I overheard several other guests echoing similar frustrations, and it’s clear the quality has declined. This is not a 4-star resort; it barely earns 3 stars based on our experience. I am sharing this review because guests deserve better — especially when paying a premium for what should be a relaxing, seamless experience.

The hotel itself wasn't to bad itself, rooms were small but the restaurants were usually closed and not free. The bars were limited, one open often otherwise most were closed sometimes open for few hours during the evening/day. Service was great when you got it but normally only had 1 person working to serve bar and snacks. Not very child friendly 3 and below, food was mediocre, and the beach was very poorly taken care of.

Sunscape was a medium level resort (IMO) We have zero complaints, but it was basic. Check in - smooth! But - I had booked a double room, we got a king bed, but the room was great very spacious, clean and comfy (very basic, but hits the basics) so we didn't bother switching. Beach - beautiful, but yea some seaweed issues, got better as the week went on! Pools - nice, basic, a bit too busy for my preference Restaurants and booking them - Yes you have to get up at midnight and book your a la cartes for that day. Seems daunting but it wasn't that bad once I got help from concierge to set up my app. We loved both meals at chopsticks, loved Tiera, and the one on the beach was ok Quite enjoyed the Mexican and Italian buffets. Regular buffet was good for breakfast. We absolutely loved the pizza place on the beach, as well as the window at the flip flops bar. The cafes make amazing cappuccino- but always busy, always a line up even at 6 am I couldn't believe it! This may be my only complaint...lack of staffing, making the service just meh.

All and all ok. Food was good. Could definitely have been cleaner. Too many people for amount of facilities (pools packed, no chairs at the beach or at the pool). Very busy place. Entertainment was 50/50 I guess usual karaoke resort stuff.

Just returned from a very pleasant stay .The hotel grounds are beautiful and every thing is very clean The food was good plenty of choices We loved the cafe for our morning cappuccino.The beach was very nice although the only negative was there were not enough loungers and unfortunately to have one you had to get up very early to reserve.I believe the pool situation was similar but I didn’t use the pool on our stay. The staff were very friendly and worked very hard .The beds and pillows were excellent the best I have ever had in an all inclusive I would certainly return and recommend this resort I have read some very negative reviews but we did not encounter any problems We stayed in building 5 and was close to everything we needed.

We found the Check in and Check out process unnecessarily slow. Loved the room, beach, bar staff. The restaurants seemed very disorganized. Tables seemed to be cleared and reset at random with no one specifically responsible for any particular tasks. Coming from a hospitality back ground, I found this very confusing. It would not take much to take this hotel from just good to amazing. The restaurants and  bars were also constantly running out of glasses, cups & saucers. At breakfast the Self-service coffee station almost never had cups at Kaleidescope. The bars were also running out of properly glasses ..... one evening at the Adults only bar, we were given scotch in paper cups !! To a scotch drinker, that is blasphemy!! Our maid Claudia was amazing !!! Our room and the entire resort was kept very clean and tidy. We also loved the beach and beach staff. The Adults only section was also amazing. The food was very average, with everything tasting much the same, but we did not come for the food. The omlettes at breakfast at Kaleidescope was the best meal of thd day ! Very tasty!! Overall, we very much enjoyed our vacation at Sunscape Coco and look forward to coming back again.

While most staff were great. Some were rude. While the property lacked staff, it was kept in clean standings. The property offers a few dining experiences, but in 11 days there we were not able to book a fine dining evening. The booking process is ridiculous for vacationers. There's not enough chairs or umbrellas pool or ocean side. Having to get up at 5am, isn't right. Hard to relax and unwind worrying about your stuff, chairs and dining. Bar staff are great, although they were unstaffed as well. And often weren't ready to serve drinks at opening time. Entertainment could be improved upon. While we made the best of our vacation, I wouldn't recommend

This is a huge resort. Many options for food and drinks. I unfortunately got sick and spent my vacation in the Bávaro hospital, so I can’t really give an honest review of the place. Would I return? Probably

Food and drinks-I would give it a solid 3* and no more. Good variety but food was only warm at the buffet unless it was made at the custom stations or you caught a new batch being put out. At the sit down restaurants it was better but it was VERY hard to get a reservation. You advertise unlimited a la carte dinners but you don't fulfill that. Its all done on the app on your phone so better bring a tech-savy person with you and lots of patience. The buffet takes forever to get a table. (like 20 minutes standing in line) I don't know why. One attendant would issue hand sanitizer, another would usher you to the door, (10 feet) another attendant would walkie-talkie to someone else in the diningroom for a table with # of guests, and yet another would usher you or wave you over to the table. Many days in the week we were there, they ran out of coffee at breakfast. SUGGESTION.... let guests find their own table and put all those attendants to work clearing and re-setting the tables. That would speed the process up. Some a-la-carte reservations are being booked and guests are not showing up. We ate in the Japanese restaurant and there is only 14x2 seats. We were the only 4 at our hibachi. Perhaps 10-15 minutes after the reservation time, you could allow another guests to fill in, and block the no-shows on the app. There isn't enough room in the restaurants for this to continue. With over 1000 rooms and 2 guests per room, thats 2000guests/meal. Thats a lot going to the buffet! SUGGESTION.... allow guests to show up, first come first serve at these restaurants. or use the red light vibrating puck system used at the Tierra restaurant. The bar drinks were made differently by different bartenders. No consistency and no measuring of alcohol/drink. Some were weak and some were almost undrinkable. Some of the bartenders would avoid serving you if you didn't tip them. They would serve everyone else and leave you til last. TIPS are for over and above service, not every time, even in the SunClub. I did tip but not every drink every day. Bartenders should have a basic knowledge in english of types/names of alcohol, little/more(quantity), mixed/blended, what the available mixes are. The slushy drinks need to be frozen, not just cold juice rolling around in the machine. Maybe mix in the blender with ice until its frozen, like early in the day. SUGGESTION.... turn the beer taps around, at all bars, so that the guests can pour their own beer, we already have our own cups! There is only one brand of beer, Presidentè. This would free up the bartenders time (although they could still keep an eye on guests getting beer) so getting mixed drinks wouldn't take so long. They move so slowly. We are the ones on vacation, not them. And have enough alcohol for all bars for ALL DAY. Everyday ALL bars ran out of alcohol about 4PM. You advertise unlimited drinks, but you couldn't fulfil that, and I'm NOT a heavy drinker. We booked in advance and paid too, so you knew we were coming! I understand this can sometimes happen, because you don't know what people will drink, but not EVERYDAY/EVERY BAR. We were there Mar 24-31/25. Not even peak season and judging by what we seen, (empty rooms). They were not at full capacity, so no excuse. Pools were pretty clean and warm. Lounge chairs/umberellas/palapas were hard to get. Had to put your towels on at about 5:30-6AM to get a couple loungers togther . Not enough chairs for the number of rooms/guests. You may want to give wrist bands to guests. Different colour for regular vs SunClub. This would define who is SunClub and who isn't. Why pay more if you don't have to. Seems to be a theme at this resort, running out of everything daily. Even drinking water at the bars. And the mini bar in the room is NOT restocked daily. We had to ask for more bottled water, beer and towels.

I wish I could say it was amazing, but unfortunately it was disappointing Punta Cana is not the same anymore its charm is lost it is crowded , the locals do not look happy like before, everything is so expensive talking about the hotel , it is huge , it lacks stuff, the buffet restaurants are always full, there is a line up to get in starting for breakfast. I used to help myself for everything, cleaning the table, finding cutlery and napkin, forget getting coffee from a waiter, if you find a cup you get it yourself from the counter. food, oh God .... the same thing every day... every day.. try to get a spot in the A La cart restaurants, you have to reserve it yourself on your phone if the internet works in your room you will get a message saying "sorry , try again , the place is full" getting a chair near the pool ... is a joke, I had to wake up at 7 in the morning to reserve a chair by putting my towels on them. the room was big in building 2 , had a problem with the toilet flush which did not work, the internet did not work , but the towels were very clean and also the bed sheets. for a hotel that big , the pool is very small As for the hotel stuff I have to say they are sad looking .... nobody smiles nobody says hello, weird if you want a decent coffee, you will be disappointed, forget the coffee shop near the lobby will I return to this hotel? NO

We did have a great vacation overall but there were both pros and cons with this resort. Beach was incredible and we really enjoyed our room on the 1st floor. And the evening bars were pretty good. That said, I was not impressed with the staff overall (mostly at the buffet and restaurants) and I didn't find the food to be the greatest.

My wife and I picked this resort very very last minute just based on pictures alone. when we arrived the pictures did absolutely no justice. Sunscape Coco was absolutely stunning ,this resort was our absolute favourite that we’ve ever been to , and will return on our next visit to Dominican. The only thing I would change is I would book a room that has immediate access to one of the Beautiful pools instead of being on the family side( long walk from family side to the best parts of the resort).The service is absolutely phenomenal and there was such a good variety of food! This resort is located not far from the airport. I would recommend this resort but the issue with the smell in the rooms need to be addressed. We first had a stale smell which was overpowered by a sewer smell. Once we turned off the AC it wasn’t as prominent (or we became use to it). Overall it’s a nice resort with lots of options for children— water slides, playground and water park area. Lots of pools to swim in and hardly any seaweed on the beach. The beach was cleaned by staff every morning. The loungers with shade was an issue if you aren’t a morning person. For those of us who are, obtaining loungers and shade wasn’t an issue unless you had someone who felt they were more entitled and took your lounger. To those who reserve the loungers but decided not to use them, shame on you! There were too many people sitting out in the full sun, sometimes on towels. Come remove your towel! Let someone else use it. Food was good. No shortage of food or drink. Didn’t have long waits for restaurants. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grounds were kept clean and well groomed. Entertainment every night Lots of vendors on the beach. They are trying to make a living. If you’re not interested politely let them know. We were nervous about going because of the bad reviews. It wasn’t as bad as we thought. We enjoyed the beach, sun and family time. Exactly what we went to do!

We really enjoyed this resort. I would definitely recommend upgrade to Sun Club, worth the benefits of updated room, check in and Sun club buffet. We ate at at resturants for dinner. If you go at 5:30 to get in line you get first seating at 6 pm and no longer waits. The beach was nice but did lack lounge chairs. All of the staff were wonderful and very helpful. Don't worry about bad reviews this hotel exceeded our expectations. The food was really good and so was room service. We did not get sick and ate everything. This is a solid 4 star resort. The shows at night were done very well.

This may very well be my 20th, maybe more, All-Inclusive Resort I have been to... by far the worst (dollar for dollar). Even Lower End Cayo Coco, Cuba trips, which costs, a third of this "Hyatt" are better, All Around. I've learned my lesson, and - unfortunately - Dominican Republic has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Hotel is very tired, desperate for a renovation. Not enough beach chairs or pool chairs. Need to hire more waitstaff. They changed to a "no reservations required" model for the a la carte restaurants, but they don't know how to do this without causing long lines. Updated amenities are shampoo, bath gel and a bar of soap. Beach is great, but the adult pool needs to be re-tiled as most of the 1 inch tiles are missing.

Not what we expected. It rained during our holiday no umbrella in our room. It took me three days of going to the front desk and was told they had no umbrellas left, not acceptable..I upgraded to the sun club but did not see any value for my money.

We had a lovely week but went in with some reservations after reading some of the group comments . I booked this resort because i had great experiences with the Sunscape Akumal in Mexico. 3 stays there so I thought I knew what to expect The resort itself is much larger than I expected but well laid out and the grounds are very nice . We booked a swim up sun club adults only room. (room 1102)The room was fine except that the swim up was in the shade pretty much all day. The room was cleaned daily, the mini fridge stocked and clean towels left daily. Only complaint/observation about the room is the layout. There is basically no privacy as the bathroom is pretty much open concept. If you are sharing with anyone other than your signifcant other you may find it a bit uncomfortable as the is only frosted glass to offer privacy. everything worked fine so no real complaints there . The beach is good. Very sandy/no rocks in the water but not the crystal clear water you look forward to but again not a huge deal. Loungers are a huge challenge on this resort so we found Elvin at the towel hut and booked a Bali bed for the 6 days we were there. Worth every penny to not have to be up in the middle of the night to claim a spot. Towels were laid out for us ,pillows supplied and drinks were served throughout the day !! It was lovely !! As to food and drinks here's where I was disappointed . The food was mediocher at best. Yes there was lots to choose from but it was so inconsistent! Hot food wasn't hot, food was either over cooked or undercooked . Foods that were prepared ahead of time were left to sit far too long before being replaced. Learned very quickly to have them cook to order at the grill at the buffet. The a la carte restaurants were very under staffed ,so often there were long waits to be served but we did enjoy the Bluewater grill and the Tierra where we had dinner twice. The house wine wasn't bad but the quality of the cocktails was disappointing as they used lesser quality alcohol, even in Sun Club. The margarita I had the first evening was not good . Baileys was always unavailable as they would say they just ran out so I stuck with white wine for the most part. All in all we had a great week ,weather was fantastic and the staff here try their best with what they have. Think of this as more of a 3.5 star and go with lower expectations and you will be fine . Relax and enjoy the warm weather !!

This LARGE resort was okay value for the money. We chose the Adult Club option to have a quieter holiday as we are retired seniors. We arrived at the main lobby and were taken to the separate Adult Club lobby for check in. Desk staff were always pleasant there and answered all our questions throughout our stay. We were on the 3rd floor looking out at the pool and could even see the ocean from our balcony. The room was fine, a bit weird on the layout, your bathroom is open to the rest of the room, so if you are shy on the toilet or in the shower, your room mates can see and hear it all because there is only frosted glass doors. Maid came everyday, nothing special, sometimes you got new towels, sometimes a floor mat, no facecloths until day 4. Mini fridge was filled again each day. Shampoo and body wash were supplied but not a bar of soap until day 6. Cheap scratchy toilet paper. King size bed was too firm. No dresser to put your clothes away, so lived out of our suitcases. All in all an average room, nothing we haven't seen before. Our buffet was fair, alot of stations where they cook fresh for you, but that just led to a long waiting line. Often had to wait extremely long to even get a cup of coffee in the morning, cause there were just no servers. A varitey of food everyday, we found things to eat no matter what time of day. The ala carte restaurants we ate at were much nicer atmosphere - the beach grill, italian, amazon meats, japanese teppayanni. You had to download the app to book a reservation for these but the last day they changed the policy to eliminate the reservations and have them as first come, first served, Well, that angered ALOT of guests who had not heard of the change, it was poorly communicated to the whole resort. We also enjoyed the little snack area in the Sun Club lounge. Service at any of the bars was okay however the quality of the drinks was really terrible. All the major liquor appeared to be watered down and some odd taste like kerosene was present in some blender drinks like a pina colada. Beer on tap was good, white wine served at evening meals was fine too. Casino drinks were good and the slot machines were a fun feature. Pools are in need to serious repair, much of the small 1 inch tiles were loose or missing. The biggest complaint of our stay was the TOTAL LACK of sun loungers and chairs, there was room around the pool for many more. People were getting out at 6 am to put towels out on the loungers to save them, we really dislike this practice but also had to play that game. The same happens at the beach, too many people and not enough loungers. This is why we all go a sunny destination in the winter! Seaweed was present in the water, beach was cleaned of it everyday. Entertainment seemed to be lacking, we only saw one show depicting the various dances and costumes of the island. Wifi was excellent everywhere on the resort. Gift shop is very overpriced, if you want a nice experience, walk down the street to the little market by the police station for the real bargaining with local vendors for your tshirt and souvenirs. We enjoyed the get away, this is not a five star hotel but we are experienced travellers and always make the most of what we booked.

Overall this was a nice middle of the line resort. Lots of food options with no reservations required, we got in to whichever restaurant we wanted. The buffet had a wide variety. There was always a bar nearby. The resort was an appropriate size, not so big that you get tired walking from one end to the other but you wouldn't want it to be any bigger. The land was nice and flat no big hills or stairs to climb. The room I was in was recently renovated with a jacuzzi tub and stand up shower and had a couch and king size bed. Lots of open walking space and a large balcony. The water slide, casino, and night club were fun activities to shake things up. Beach was nice. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the layout. The buildings were close together with pools between some of them, it felt a little claustrophobic until you get into the main area. Agree with the 4 star rating.

Beach and pool were lovely. Room had a mildewy smell that was difficult to handle. Food in the adult lounge seemed to sit out for long periods of time with no system for keeping it cool. I could not eat anything with meat in it.

Good resort that is a work in progress with great potential. Every day there was some sort of improvement being made to make the stay more enjoyable. The staff are very hard working. Rooms are comfortable with all amenities needed and if what you need is not in the room just request it and it’ll be there in a matter of minutes. Rooms don’t have much storage so you can’t really put away your clothes anywhere. Pools were nice, only drawback was lack of chairs. Everyone up and saving chairs by 6AM. Buffets were good. Could always find something you like to eat! Al a carte restaurants were great! Entertain was great both at the pools and the nightly entertainment. The entertainment staff were awesome. We loved NICKI MANAJ!!! If they continue to upgrade things as they appear to be doing, it’ll be a great resort!

I loved everything about the resort, except our room . It had no dressers to put clothes away and no hooks in the bathroom for house coat, toiletries etc....the beach was graded every other day and even though the ocean was great to swim in there was constant sea weed. It needed to be raked daily.

The grounds and pool areas very clean. Room was great. Had a great time at the slide park area. Buffet, snack truck and pizza shoppe all excellent. Would be good to have more snack trucks through out the resort to help with line ups.

When I had booked there was good reviews but about a week before we left for the trip I started seeing horrible reviews warning us about food poisoning, miserable staff, horrible rooms and food. I tried to stay positive knowing some people are over dramatic. When we got there we tried to have an open mind. We were very disappointed when we arrived the first night into our room. The pictures make it look like it’s newly renovated but it’s just a cheep “lipstick on a pig” makeover, very poorly covering a dated room and not clean at all. The toilet barely flushed and you weren’t aloud to put toilet paper in the toilet, we were told to throw it in the garbage after you wipe. Disgusting. But again we tried to get past it. The bedding was clean at least. The next morning we woke around 8am, excited to hit the buffet for breakfast. It was horrible. The pancakes and French toast were hard as a rock from sitting there or being reheated, the eggs were gross. Both me and my partner felt sick leaving, really disappointed again. We then went to the pool to try and enjoy the rest of the day to find that there was not one pool chair available. So we could sit around the pool as there was not enough chairs for the amount of people at the resort. We got chatting with others at the resort who told us you had to be up by 7am with some people waking up at 5:30am to come down and put a towel on the chair to claim them before others did. So our vacation we had to wake crazy early every morning to run down and try to get a chair, which we did. We then went to the pool bar. The staff there were great and friendly (they were about the only ones), the drinks were good. The pool was gross and had hair and gunk floating everywhere. The weather was hot so we used a whole bottle of sunscreen by the second day and went to go buy another bottle and it was 49$US it was nutts they Jack the prices up in the gift shops to insane prices. We were hopeful the other meals would be better at the buffet and were sadly disappointed. All the food was slop. Meat was raw sometimes in the middle.all the cheapest food products they could get. We tried the restaurants (which we ended up finding out you had to book reservations for and again had to be up by 7am to try and get a reservation, and not all the restaurants were open at the same time.) So when we finally did get into the restaurants they were pretty much the same food as the buffets. The same crap, we got up and left after one bite of our meals at every restaurant. I pretty much lived off of bread the whole week as the food was just unbelievably horrible. I will say we did not get food poisoning like others stated they did but we did have extreme diarrhea most of the trip. Speaking to the other travelers at the resort we realized quickly we were not the only ones feeling this way, everyone we spoke to agreed it was horrible, the food, the wait times for towels, drinks, hard to get any information on anything. Honestly we were excited to come home and have an actual meal. Also side note all the rooms and halls had visible water damage and mold from the ground to about a half a foot up the wall from what we are assuming a flood, and they never repaired it. We were hoping for some entertainment on this trip, it started at 8:30 pm and went on until after midnight so loud you couldn’t sleep until it was over, which wouldn’t have been as horrible if we could sleep in but to get a chair at the pool or dinner reservation that was impossible. And to top it off we went to the beach to find it was dirty tons of garbage washed up and not cleaned up and stray animals everywhere which for me I found really hard to see and made me sick to my stomach as they were mostly limping and sick, and it ruined the dream beach experience for me personally. My only positive experience on the trip was I booked a deep tissue massage at the spa and it was great.

It's ok lots problems it was a lot of money we were in sun club adults only part it was beautiful but kids running around all day every where you went kids were in are special restaurant. They need wrist band .you couldn't get a chair on beach or pool unless you got up at 6am all full with people who never paid.it sucked. not much choice for alcohol and new year eve ran out of all alcohol never herd of that at all inclusive ?...our first 4 day our pool was closed so green.the food was a pretty good spread but i have a egg allergies so food was very limited i was lucky to eat most days .the entertainment was ok nonthing outstanding the staff were amazing very beautiful people they cant do enoughfor you .overall 7out of 10

Stayed over Christmas in a sunclub swimup family... Upgraded to a swimup adult. Much better room, and a bit more private swim out. Sunclub comes with some special access, but no wristbands or monitoring of any kind, so a regular room would be fine. Food at buffets were abysmal. 90% of food would be cold. Even when a fresh tray would be inserted... Cold. A la cartes were good. Chopsticks and Bluewater Grill tried. You need to book on an app for those..48 hours out to get decent time. Beach was beautiful white sand and ocean gently sloped. No rocks/pebbles at all on ocean floor, gentle tide too. Sunclub lounge had great servers, lobby bar not so much, pizza shop awful, coffee bar good, but long lines always present. The "sports" bar was laughable. Booked as have had good experience w Sunscape, however this property is new to them, a former Be Live property I believe. Also mosquitoes were present by pools with shrubbery, so bring you own Off. $35 USD at onsite shop. Was happy for sun and beach, but was glad to head home.

Very well kept grounds,Staff were amazing, always making sure we were happy and had what we needed. The food was also very good, nice variety and always so hot and fresh. Animation staff had a lot of fun activities and got to know your name. The evening shows were also quite good, only wished they could start a little earlier.

Our family had a great time at this resort. The location is perfect, the pool area, beach and rooms are all a short walk from each other. The public beach is incredible, white sand palm trees. Lots of shade, safe beach for walking. Great view of the Ocean. The staff were excellent, front desk were very accommodating from our arrival to departure. I would like to thank ROSA and her staff for our nice stay. Friendly experience, we will be back soon.

All around great resort! Food was great at the a la carte restaurants. I highly recommend the Tierra restaurant (Amazonian cuisine). We went from Dec 6-13 and it was not busy. We basically had the Family Sun Club pools all to ourselves for two days out of the 7. Check in/check out was a breeze. The resort app is great as you can make your dinner reservations, see where the restaurant is located, order room service, and many more options. The only negative thing is as soon as you set foot on the beach, you get harassed by the vendors. Buyer beware of the tours sold on the beach. They may not be as advertised by the seller.

We stayed in the adults only section. The room was large and very comfortable. The pool bar staff was awesome. The pool was clean and refreshing. Loved the adult buffet! I would definitely return to this resort.

My wife and I recently returned to this resort for the second time this year. We were there in February/ March 2024 for Two weeks and enjoyed it so much we just had to return in November. Because we were return vacationers we got a pleasant upgrade to the adult sun club section, which we very much appreciated. It is the staff that really makes this resort going to. The grounds are constantly kept clean, the rooms are updated and kept clean, the food at both buffers, and the restaurants is never disappointing, and the bars are well maintained with very attentive staff can and will serve many different drinks. The staff that work at the Sun Club reception are fantastic and do very thing within their power to make your stay rememberable. A shut out to Baraly for her fantastic help at the Sun club section. What ever you do Do Not Pass up this resort, it may not be the Riz, but for the price and people, you can’t go. We know we will return. Paul and Joy Roberts

Smaller resort, beautiful grounds and setting. Most facilities located centrally to thr rooms. The trick is figuring out which theme each restaurant is featuring as they serve double duty and rotate nights open and available. Housekeeping staff are amazing and keep building in tip-top condition, rooms are spotless. Most other service staff at restaurants and bars were adequate no Shinning Stars. I made the mistake on first day of tipping in Canadian dollars only to have the money shuved back and got a mouthfull from both bartenders. On third day ate at Chopsticks, at least 5 people at our table got very sick hours later. On fifth day ate at the Italian restaurant and got sick again. Everyone we came in contact with got sick or knew someone that did. Even one wedding had to be postponed due to many of the guest being sick. We did see many inspections being performed both in restaurants and bars and according to hotel manager a source of the many illnesses could not be identified! I myself witnessed many cross contamination opportunities in both bars and restaurants. I ate alot of soup and bread for thr rest of the week. Beach area was nice enough but requires more daily clearing of plastic cups and bottles. Ocean water was cloudy and had much debris floating by probably from the Booze Cruz boats. Music from these boats is deafening at times and does little for those relaxing or doing , morning yoga. Rudness, we encountered too many interactions with unengaged and down right rude staff. I don't want to feel as an intrusion and be made to wait to be served until staff finnish their discussions. Too many other resorts and countries to visit and this one, for me, is a hard pass for a return visit.

The resort was nice and would have been an amazing trip if norovirus was not spreading. A few of us from our trip got extremely sick including myself and my partner. I believe this was well known before we arrived and I think it should have been communicated. It put a damper on our trip and now being home and unable to work.

Well, this resort has potential but it doesn't live up to expectations. In my opinion, the construction itself was shoddy, may ceilings and walls have faults, and the bathroom didn't even have a shelf to put your toiletries. Many common areas are open only to club members and the one buffet restaurant is oppressively hot with no fans and no A/C. The rooms too did not have efficient A/C. Finally, some staff members are careless, so much so that on our third night there, the front desk actually reassigned our room and we had a guest accidentally enter our room (gasp!). While we had an okay time there otherwise, we will not be returning, nor would we recommend. The only upside was the location and the beach- wonderful sandy beach not too far from the airport.

Hotel grounds clean. Plenty of places to eat at, but there are line ups. Also the gift shop and the Airport only accepts American currency. Not Canadian.There is a private part to this Hotel for Sunscape members only, and pool area as well. We were told after we went in. There isn’t any gate or fence preventing you from entering from your room.

The service towards English speaking customers was bad. Often there weren't beach towels available, forks, or spoons during meal time as well. We never got our drinks during the main meal, if they were delivered it was around when we were ready for dessert. The bed sheets were not changed for the whole week, and honestly, I was sweating a lot - so wet sheets every night. I would not recommend or go there again.

The hotel was very good, the service was very good. The restaurant was very good. But I can not say the same for the beach. It is only a limited surface you can swim because the water becomes too deep. And the sea plants are everywhere.

It's a fantastic find! The combination of great food, spacious rooms, cleanliness, attentive service, and accessibility for all makes it a standout choice. An upgrade to Sunclub, adults area with own beach area makes it a nice, quiet relaxing experience. A medium.sized resort with big perks - that's a winning formula!

Everything about my time at Sunscape Coco was amazing. The staff are great people and are always working hard to keep everyone happy. Ten stars to the following entertainment/dancing team: Falcón Rihanna Will Smith El Meloso Forever Black Chocolate 10 stars to the following bar tenders: Fransisco Sergio Andres Everyone was amazing and attentive. The beach is amazing, the pools were well kept. The food was great. I'll never forget my time there.

Just got back from a 5 night stay in April. The resort is close to the airport and in a populated area; the town is right outside the gate so it’s not a grand entrance but once you’re in, you see the beautiful lobby and can walk straight to the pool. The food was great, love going to an a la carte every night - made the mistake of filling up on appetizers more than once. Go to Tikki Taco, it’s the best! The resort is well laid out and easy to navigate. Everything is so close to the beach. We always had towels and were given extras when we went to morning yoga. The staff did a good job overall and we found all the servers to be very nice, many recognizing us with a smile, even on our short stay. Grounds were clean and well kept. Our room was very clean and modern feeling. We did find a cockroach in our main floor room but we were also really close to the restaurants (not that that’s an excuse but I’m sure they’re doing what they can to keep them at bay). The Air Transat rep was available and happy to help, giving us his phone number and lots of good information to make our stay enjoyable. We didn’t do any excursions due to our short stay but fellow travellers took the shuttle into the shopping area and said it was worth the trip. There were lots of beach vendors, as expected but once we said no, they didn’t come back. There were lots of cabanas for shade and since we’re early risers, we got great chairs every day. Overall I really liked the resort and plan to go back - will upgrade to the adults only section next time.

Food great, pools great, buffet fantastic, no complaints w rooms, no a la carte reservations which made it easy to try many of them, beautiful beach, staff excellent...no complaints what so ever. Highly recommend.

The hotel was good. The flrs invthe hallways was always dirty. Aleaysneeded to ask for second towel they took away 2 and replaced with one. 2 people srsying there. The entertsinment was good . Loved the games. Loved it when they prepared different foods every day by the pool. Restaurants were average. Staff very friendly.

It was a typical basic resort, food,room,entertainment I definetly wouldn't refer anyone, no need to do sunclub save your money, couldn't find a representive at all, alot of locals, plently of hot water to shower and over flowing toilets, weather was good, the only bonus was no towel deposit.

We just returned from Sunscape Coco Punta Cana. The grounds were beautiful. The beach is nice, however there was a lot of sea debris everyday which was raked away most of the time. The food is excellent in both buffets and all the ala cartes. Italian and Japanese were the best. The staff goes above and beyond and are all really friendly. We paid a little extra to be in Sun Club. Recommend this upgrade 100%. Entertainment was also really good.

Check in was smooth, upgraded us to adults only, adults only buffet was my fav, we did have options on which buffet we wanted, family or adults.. 1 person in our group ate fish (he thinks it was the fish) and got sick for about 24hrs. He thinks it was at the family buffet, fish was under cooked, he thinks.... The rest of us were fine, . The room were okay. No bugs.. musky smell tho, air conditioner worked, had hot water, overall it was great. Family pool was fun no problems. Pool bar was great. Adult only pool was more quiet then the family pool but, both fun!! Had lots of daily activities. The staff was very attentive in all categories. A la carte restaurants were good. Every1 kept saying chop sticks was the best... for me ...no .. wasnt as good as ppl call it. Not traditional Canadian Chinese but, they work hard so it was worth the try !! The Italian was my fav. Overall the adult buffett was the go to for me !! Beach was great. They cleaned up the seaweed often. Rough ocean waves. Overall a beautiful resort, i would definitely recommend.

My wife and I with friends spent a week at Sunscape, we found it to be a very satisfying resort overall. The beach is great and the rooms very comfortable, we had a recently upgraded room. Hint, If you can try and get a room in Block 4 very central. The resort appeared to be half full and the staff were very accommodating. The restaurants were good nothing spectacular the bonus being you did not need a reservation. The only negative was a sudden management rule that prevented regular guests from using the Seaside Grill and making it exclusive to Sun Club members. This was uncalled for and one could say a breach of contract as it is listed as one of the restaurants that o e would have access too. We would go back despite this one negative.

Great staff, never crowded, could always get a drink and a chair. Lots of a la carte restaurants Brazilian steakhouse and hibachi and le petite chef. Awesome bartenders ask for Gabriel. The rooms were very nice. Nice pools clean resort.

Spectacular resort. Well-kept grounds, very nice beach. Food was amazing and the variety of items in the buffet to choose from was excellent. I really liked the fact that you didn't have to make reservations for the al-a-carte restaurants. The nightly entertainment was great. Couldn't ask for a better vacation.

Hotel was good. Great proximity to the beach. Shower was awesome. We received a call at 7:30 am from the rep about meeting at 10 am to discuss the resort area which we found out was a ploy to get you to listen to time share discussions. Was Not Impressed first morning there! Room did not have a full length mirror. The room door had to be slammed to close it causing upset especially in early morning. I wouldn't return there simply because of the constant bombardment from the vendors. We couldn't rest. They were constantly at you. They wouldn't take no for an answer. It caused us more stress than before we left home. There was at least 1 dog on the beach each day we were there. There was not much for entertainment. I received a survey about the hotel and it was addressed to somebody else.

Just returned 2 days ago after enjoying a week in Punta Cana. We spent most of the time on the beach which was nice, relaxing, and well monitored. We were upgraded to Sun Club immediately, which was a wonderful surprise. Food and staff in our buffet was excellent, a la carte restaurants do not require reservations, we had Chinese, Italian, Mexican all lovely. Our room was fine, lots of hot water, comfortable beds and good maid service. I definitely would suggest more storage area in the form of drawers or even shelves in the main area. Space to empty our suitcases into is very minimal, ie, 1 long rod & 1 long shelf. Overall an excellent experience.

We vacationed at this resort from February 26th to March 11th (two weeks) and throughly enjoyed very single day. The resort was a former Be Live brand, but was purchased by Hyatt hotels refurbished, and re branded to Sunscape of which they also have two other resorts in the Dominican Republic. During our visit they were still refurbishing the last one third of the resort which explains why our stay did not feel over crowded. The staff were the best we have ever meant, helpful, always smiling and greeting use, and more than willing to go out of their way to make our stay memorable. The food was top notch at both of the buffets and all of the restaurants and again the staff and cooks were what made the dining experience so good. You did not have to wander very far, and you were at another bar be it anywhere on the resort, and all of the bar staff were great, did not scrimp on the alcohol, would talk and joke with you and would remember you. ( a U S dollar goes a long way, and don’t scrimp). We also left a tip each day for our room cleaning and had no shortage of anything in our room. Our room had been renovated, tons of hot water, and everything was fine. ( a set of dresser drawers would be nice) On our arrival we were upgraded to Sun club room, which was a pleasant surprise, along with our ground floor pre request. We were in block three building which is Sun club with children allowed,but building two and one was for adults only Sun club upgrade. Because we are two adults only, we were able to eat and drink at Sun club bars and buffet which was very nice. In closing we both can not say enough about Sunscape Coco, Don’t pass this resort up, it will only get better ❤️‍? once the refurbishment is done, and more rooms, pools, splash park, and restaurants are opened up. I know we will be coming back soon .

We really enjoyed staying here with our 1.5 year old. It was our first family trip, and the resort didn’t disappoint. We enjoyed to pool area, which always had events going on such as water Zumba and games. The weather was amazing and we enjoyed how close everything was to our room. The room was great for us, spacious and comfortable. The restaurant offerings had a lot of variety. Thank you for welcoming us! Will hopefully be back.

We were a little worried after looking at the negative reviews but we are so glad we went - not one complaint. Room 5128 (not sunsclub) is perfection. Right on the beach with a slightly raised deck that you can walk off to the beach. Just what we were looking for. If you are on the fence - GO! But remember, you are in a 3rd world country - don't expect the Ritz. The resort has a small footprint so, even though it has a lot of rooms, everything feels close.

Not enough music Latino rooms were never clean. People are very rude. Food wasn’t the greatest. The pools in the beach was beautiful. The à la cart was very good. Every place sports bar was terrible very rude people. The entertainment was good. The resort was very beautiful not enough entertainment too much harassing And people should be more welcoming

The hotel was clean and nice. Our shower was a tad outdated but our room was nice and partial overlooking the ocean so that made up for it. The beach was decent. The food was so so, nothing to memorable though. The nightlife was nonexistent at this resort & everything closed midnight latest. Casino/ theatre/ disco/ etc was closed, not once was did we see this open, that was disappointing.

First off, I found out by joining the Facebook fan page that the Be Live Collection was scheduled to be closed for renovations on the day of our arrival. Then I called my travel agent who was on holidays and her back up wasn’t around. Called the main line: they weren’t aware neither. Finally someone gets intel and confirms. I was told not to worry, Sunwing upgraded us to Jewel Palm Beach. After over a 4hr flight delay due to mechanical issues, we arrive at Jewel Palm Beach and we have no reservation there. They make us go next door to next Jewel. Not there either. I show them my booking itinerary which shows I’m at the Jewel Palm Beach. No Jewel in the vicinity has my reservation. It’s after 3am. No place to go. They phone the Jewel Punta Cana (over 45mins away) and we were there. 100% not where I wanted to be and had a horrible time. Sunwing and my agent will be getting a detailed email from me. Extremely disappointed.
