Our family of five (two adults, kids aged 14, 11, 9) enjoyed a week at this property in mid-December. Overall it's a smaller property compared with some other resorts we've been to, but that had many benefits. It was a shorter walk to the beach, pool and restaurants, however being smaller meant fewer dining options. The beach was beautiful and had plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Pools were clean and swim up bars were mostly quick with service. Restaurants were nice, but reservations were hard to come by - the resort needs to improve their system for this. Rooms were in older buildings but were kept very clean and had great layouts. Ours was a 2 bedroom suite which had plenty of room for our larger family to spread out.

The grounds / pool are beautiful Rooms are decent however we were given a lousy location at the back looking over the garbage dump. We had requested 3 times to have rooms close to our family who were travelling with small kids in order to help. They did not try in any way to help with those requests. Their a la carte restaurant Booking system is atrocious. You stand in line at 6:45. Wait till they open and hopefully get a Rez Timeshare people always get priority. For these reasons I will not return to the Marival

Been to this resort many times & have enjoyed every vacation. Staff have treated us very well. There was confusion with our room requested. Husband has mobility issues & they had us booked in a room with no elevators. We did get a room ground level which worked out well. One of the staff at the Martini Bar was awesome with our big group a smile on her face & worked hard to keep up- her name was Dalia.

The food was excellent. The LaPergola restaurant was fast service and a great option was a la carte breakfast. Dinner a la carte restaurants were fantastic. Rooms comfortably large, beds weren't totally comfy but OK. All staff very friendly. Pools very clean and perfect temp. Soft sand and beautiful gold shimmery. I would recommend to anyone.

When you check in the staff are extremely pushy for time shares. They don’t like to take no for an answer. That started our trip out feeling annoyed. When we asked for our fridge restocked the third time they tried charging us for it. The room is clean and cool we had the ocean view and it was beautiful. The food is good. The best one was the one on the beach. Make sure to reserve when you get there as we were not informed and could only do one reservation. The Mexican festival was fun with amazing food. Overall our family had a great trip!

We have been to a lot of all inclusives...this one had pluses and minuses. Pluses: It was super clean. Rooms were great. (We stayed in a resort room top floor, partial ocean view). Location is great. Beach is wonderful. Lots of pool chairs and umbrellas. Staff are kind and very accommodating. Minuses: First of all, we were in Mexico and there was NO guacamole in this resort. Not one day. Not even on Mexican fiesta night. Come on. That's just wrong. I will not return for that alone. Second, probably due to Covid restrictions, the food menu was very limited compared to other resorts we have been to. Not a lot of options. A lot of time the food was cold...often glacial. Also, there was never any bacon out for breakfast...but if you asked you could get it, but nowhere does it say "ask"...if you didn't know you'd just never have it. (I asked for guac lots of times...never any)...Also there was never any pico de gallo out. You could also ask for it and it would appear from out the back. Shouldn't nacho chips and salsas and guac just be a standard thing? Third, this resort has a time share - no wait, it's called something else - but essentially they try to sell you. Members get special benefits. This annoyed me. Also I was annoyed that there were members only benefits mixed in with areas that were for non-members making non-members feel like second class citizens...which is probably the point, but not something you want to have to live with while on vacation.

The Hotel is well managed, the staff are very friendly and all the areas are kept very clean. The food is plentiful offers a wide variety it is quite excellent. We enjoyed the Ocean, the beach and opportunity to walk for ever along the beach. The many Pools at the Hotel are wonderful especially the many options for the children. This is the second time at this Hotel.

The Grand Marival was a good basic resort. The beach is beautiful and the waves were great. The waiters in the a la carte were very good. I would say the resort could improve the food quality and the drink consistency. The drinks were never the same and were often too sweet. There was also very slow service at the bars. The shows were really entertaining

The hotel , room , is beautiful the pools are clean, foods are excellent variety with theme night like Cara bella buffet, so much foods to eat u never go hungry ,staff are friendly and work hard every day to provide what guests need from early morning to late at night, bars open every where drinks are free until you dropped , I like the Mexican night you can eat all kinds of Mexican food like: tacos, tostadas, enchiladas, tamales ,churos for dessert...

Once again a wonderful 2 weeks this is our 12th visit to Marival resort which is like our home away from home. The property is immaculate the food is plentiful and well presented The staff are very helpful and friendly Only negative is quality of wooden deck chairs on the beach.

Everything was amazing. Food room , beach, service. ETC .I loved the beach and the pool , nice beach to go for a walk and enjoy the sunset . The resort is only couples minutes from the airport . Best yet vacation .

Hotel is a short 20 - 30 min drive from the airport. Greeted and checked-in fairly quickly. Initial room was loud the first night as we were directly around the corner on the main floor by the lobby. We ended up transferring to the Residences (sister resort) the following day. Beaches, pools, grounds, etc. are kept very clean. Pools can be busy, lots of children! Food was excellent at both resorts, we loved the Italian! All the staff are friendly. Wifi is accessible almost everywhere! We will definitely go back.

Wonderful resort. Lots to do! The kids had an amazing time .the animation team was great! Location was perfect! Very clean!! Beach was beautiful! I also requested a connecting room and they provided it! Thank you !

Time share presentation was very pushy and not an enjoyable experience, you are encouraged to go before you get the key to your room - what room you get is dependent on whether you attendwnt the presentation- we did not like this approach at all. Food good, too many children everywhere. To quite in the evening.

This is a great family relaxing resort. The proximity to the beach is outstanding. The beach is safe and goes for miles. The staff at the resort are friendly and accommodating. The location is great to get around either to the north to Bucerias or south into Puerto Vallarta. Taxis are afforable and the bus is easy to get around on.

This was the sixth time we have booked the Marival. The staff are excellent, very friendly, efficient and many have worked there for a long time. The rooms were recently renovated and were very nice. The food, as always was nicely presented and delicious in the four ala carte restaurants as well as the snack bars and buffet. Beach chairs remain an issue, as getting a good location on the beach requires going out very early in the AM to place a towel on them to hold them. Beware of the vacation club presentation, as it will only tie you up on your second day for several hours, in an unpleasant one on one pressure sales pitch which is not worth your time.

Great food! Very attractive, clean, roomy accommodations! The beach was amazing! The grounds were immaculate! The staff was very friendly and helpful! The timeshare salespeople were always trying to entice you but we were firm and had no problems.We were in the Grand section and so the WiFi was free and throughout the resort. It did keep disconnecting but that was only a minor inconvenience. The area was very safe and had walking and bike lanes in both directions leaving the resort so we were able to go for a nice walk or bike ride every morning. We walked into the town of Bucerias which took about an hour and then took a taxi back. They offer a free city tour of Puerto Vallarta but since it was an all day excursion we opted to take a taxi in instead and just spent the morning. Be sure and ask the concierge what the price should be as it is a bit more to return but they will try and push the price up. We had a great time and will definitely return!

Staff at this resort are exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is and older resort, but the upkeep is good. No issues with food. They could use more queen and king beds as we got a room with twin beds, not a romantic holiday!

This is a great resort with really great food and hard working friendly staff. Several pools, well groomed beach with lots of chairs. Entertainment was good too. Food was excellent, bars served good quality drinks. We definitely would come back...however..there were a couple of issues. We requested ocean view rooms ( friends of ours and us)- didn't get them. We really didn't like the high pressure sales pitch(time share) upon checkin but ither than that - no complaints.

Trip central was very helpful We missed our flight arrived at the airport 40 minutes before the flight took off due to a 7 car accident on a bridge we had to cross but Transat would not take us. We purchased a one way ticket from another airline for the next morning as we would have to wait three days for Transat and we were going to attend a 65th Birthday had to spend a night in hotel close to airport as we live to far from town to take a chance. As soon as we arrived we were pressured regarding time share presentation and finally agreed when they guaranteed it wood only take a hour 3 hours later and we were still saying NO the third person we had to talk to said that we were wasting everyone's time The resort was quite nice but it was very prominent that you received better everything if you were a member. Housekeeping was sub-standard for us but the other people we met there (members) said theirs was good. Staff was very friendly no matter what wrist band you wore

I love this place, but how do you book the same hotel 6 years in a row and get the same shitty view 5 of those years. I realize we are not in the room very long each day, but it would be nice not to have to look at the wall and propane tank sometimes. Also we had two super single beds in the room. We are a couple, we booked as a couple and would like to sleep as a couple. The other couples we booked with had a king size. We have never had one. Requesting a view and king bed did not work so maybe I will have to complain next time.

Pro: A good resort family oriented in Nuevo Vallarta. Rooms are fine. Food was ok. Drinks ok. Waiters very friendly. Big enough to look for a peaceful area. Mexican night entertainment was pretty good. Cons: Hotel assigned us a room that was occupied. Hotel gave us a two double bed when we booked a singledouble bed. Salesman Ulises very rude and unprofessional when we decided not to buy a membership of the resort with less that 12 hours of our arrival. Some issues with a broken faucett in the shower and we have to request for towels after the cleaning staff took the old towels. Las Vegas night entertainment needs to improve.

We found booking with Trip Central a great experience. All the agents were helpful and very knowledgeable. The Marival was a much different story. We were constantly hounded by "Time Share Sellers", who would not take "no" for an answer, which became very annoying. The food in the buffet was ok, however became the same after the first couple of days. We booked Ala Carte restaurants on-line, only to arrive and find out the restaurants were not open on the days were booked and no other times were available. Very disappointing! We wont be returning to the Marival . . . . . .

The hotel staff, the hotel rooms and grounds were clean and very well maintained. The food options were great and well labelled - especially since I am a celiac and lactose intolerant. The beach is very well taken care of and I will be returning to the Marival. Thank you to Jenn for going above and beyond and helping me get the vacation I desperately needed.

Spent a week at the Grand Marival and it was heaven!. The beach is amazing and there were lots of beach chairs, as well as at the pools. We were extremely impressed by the Michael Jackson show - the dancers were fantastic. This show was better than many Broadway shows that I've paid money to see. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if the Disco had different music on different nights just as the performances were different each night. The night we went to the Disco there was techno music which we didn't care for (but I know many people, especially young people like), so it would have been nice if one night was Country, and one night Oldies , etc.

The environment is marvelous. And the distribution of the installation are very friendly. Also the people who work there, from all the positions, are very amiable. In conclusion it is a very relaxing experience.

Marival is always spotless, staff always welcoming and weather beautiful. Was not too happy with the room we were allocated as it overlooked the staff parking lot and also was meant for people in wheelchairs so only had a personal shower. When Daphne found out she sent us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and a very nice letter. Daphne is the general manager and she came by one night in the restaurant and asked if everything was what we wanted. Overall it is a great resort and for the price it is exceptional. Loved to fly with Air Transat due to lots of room in the seats!

I literally booked this 48 hours before I left and I feel like I hit the jackpot. The best part about this resort is the employees. Always cheerful, helpful, amazing concierge (Jazmin). They grounds are impeccable, there is always someone cleaning (everywhere), sweeping.. I felt very safe going as a single woman with my teenage daughter. Room was very nice, amazing pools (one for adults only, we called it the "senior's pool, but very nice when you want a quiet break). Lovely beach but virtually unswimmable (only body surfing for the adventurous). Food was plentiful, lots of choices, always fresh. I would go back in a heartbeat. I have absolutely nothing to complain about!

Our party of 6 stayed at the Grand Marival Resort and had a wonderful time...Our rooms, the food, the pool, the drinks, the people all excellent.. Would definately return...Special thanks to Cesar at the pool for getting us chairs and unbrellas for 6 everyday!!

We had a very nice stay at this resort. Food was good and lots to do of just relax and do nothing. The grounds are very clean and there is free wifi in the lobby. Specialty restaurant are very nice and lot's of choices in the buffet.

Marival Resort was everything we expected and more. Although we did not bring kids, this is a great family resort, but equally as great for adults. Lots to do for all ages. It was good to have an all inclusive as a "home base" and central between Puerto Vallarta and Rincon.

I went to this resort with a couple who have been going for 19 years. I was very pleased to see a totally renovated resort, with friendly staff who smiled and spoke to you like family. The weather was perfect and the special events were done very well. There were many extended families there and they appeared to be having a great time. Something for every age!

The upgrades to the guest rooms were amazing - could not rate the staff highly enough - the restaurant food - all of them - offered a great variety of food and the service was great as well - staff go overboard to please & be helpful

rooms were clean, pools were warm, food was pretty good. Great kids program and lots of families around. The water was rough at the beach but fun to play around in. We were not traveling with children but there was a large mix of visitors. The resort did a good job of keeping families in one area and couples in another area of the resort

Welcome to the Grand Marival. Staying here was like a little piece of paradise on earth. The staff were all friendly. I asked one of the wait staff for an iced capp. She conjured up one of the best drinks I've had. Around 8 every evening, the housekeeping staff would offer us a special treat. The staff really went out of their way to ensure every whim was met. They even remembered our names. The entertainment was both funny and interactive. The food was amazing and so much variety. The view was breathtaking. I definitely had an awesome vacation. I would recommend this resort to friends. Can't wait to come back again.

The place was just great ft the price we paid. This was our second time there. Great a la carte restaurants and the buffet always had great food. Staff was very friendly and the pools were nice and clean. We had an ocean view room which was a definite bonus.
