Grande Sandals was absolutely a beautiful resort to spend a relaxing week. There were 12 restaurants onsite, numerous bar and too many pools to count! Staff go above and beyond. Very clean and well Kept resort. Definitely recommend the Grande Lucian.

The stunning grounds are met with everyone that works there truly nice people that made this trip so relaxing with food that so so special at all restaurants outstanding service that was the best I have enjoyed at any sandals!!!!!!!

Pros: Wonderful people, lovely grounds, great seafood. Cons: Room very small for luxury ocean view. Small bathroom with no enclosed toilet so at times only one individual could use it depending on activity. Overpriced compared to the Riu and Bahia Principe chains. Better food, larger suites and wonderful nightly entertainment. Staff at the restaurants were painfully slow.

This was a lovely resort that was easy to get around and very compact. Restaurants and pools were easy access. There was two things that prevent me from giving it a 5 star review. Firstly, every morning I had a really hard time finding a chair on the beach or at the pool. Even when I went to the pool very early (5:45 a.m.) the chairs were already saved, mostly by the butlers for their guests. More chairs are definitely required. The furniture is old, as is the refrigerators in the rooms. A lot of the pool furniture was torn and tattered, and more often than not covered with bird droppings. The food and the staff were amazing, special thanks to Sharlene who worked hard to get our party of 14 a table in the restaurants, and to Ted in the main restaurant who always looked after us. The staff seemed happy to be there. New Year's party was great!!!!

This was our first time to a Sandals resort, and to St. Lucia. Overall, we are glad that we went, and there are some different strong points to this resort: * The size of the resort is perfect. It’s big enough that there are places to walk around and things to see without it being too far to walk from any one place to another. *The food was quite good and we had some very enjoyable meals and we liked the combination of restaurants where you don’t need a reservation and a few were you do. *The staff are quite friendly, and for the most part, the service was very good as they always attended to pretty quickly. *We liked that you could go for a walk down the beach next-door and to pigeon Island conservation area. * we like the mini lounge areas, some areas with fireplaces, which give it a good ambiance at night. *we had a basic room and thought it was nice. It had a large TV. *The beach was amazing: nice, white sand, always calm, very clear. Bring a snorkel as many people said this was some of the best snorkelling they could do off of a beach. * The Jacuzzis are nice because they are actually heated and quite hot. we found at most resorts They are the same temperature as the pool so this was nice. For the higher price paid there are some areas that we think are in definite need of improvement: * The mattress was not comfortable. You could really feel the tilt in the mattress and feel each movement every time the person next to you moves. My husband did not sleep well at all every night and would not want to return for that reason alone. * They have 2 basic coffee/cappuccino machines on the entire resort that make a very basic, not great at all, espresso or cappuccino. The machines kept breaking down and one morning couldn’t get one at all. We’ve had way better coffee in Cuba, Dominican, anywhere else we’ve been in fact. If you like a nice espresso or cappuccino, you’ll be very disappointed and if not, then it won’t matter to you. * The lagoon pool is very old and majorly showing its age to the point that we heard people say that they didn’t even think it was supposed to be for swimming. It looks like it’s full of brown algae, when, in fact, it is just the turquoise paint all worn off in most areas now. we did swim in it and it was not nearly as bad as It looked, and it was very large and you had it to yourself because of the fact that most people wouldn’t go in it. * the Main two pools are nice, but are not heated. It looks like they gave up on the older pools as they didn’t even provide umbrellas near the sun loungers for those pools. There were a couple of days where some of the pools have a lot of debris floating and they had to close the hot tub one day because it was cloudy. * Compared to other resorts I been to we found that at this resort there is not enough loungers with good shade and people would get up at 6:30 AM to reserve them and so if you try to find one closer to 8 AM there was limited options left and this took away from some of the enjoyment as you couldn’t sleep in on vacation. * they had a couple of really nice swinging lounger beds, but nobody used them most days because they had no shade over them when this would be a simple fix. * if you wanted to rent a nice lounger bed with full shade They charge $130 US for one day. There’s shameful when they are already charge a premium for you to go there. Most days we noticed that most of those bad sat empty. * they really should provide a towel for in your room for anyone arriving later because it was not easy to find a towel to go swimming around 430 or 5 PM when we got there and the person collecting dirty towels gave us a lecture when we asked for one as she had to go find some. * although, for the most part, we thought the service was pretty good. We found that compared to other resorts at breakfast we sometimes had to wait quite a while to get a table in either restaurant. Our first morning we chose the à la cart breakfast and it took about 45 minutes and they told us that this was the usual weight time. I tried to order orange juice twice that morning and I never came. We ate there on two other mornings and it was quicker, closer to around 25 or 30 minutes. It seems that some days they might be short staffed. Overall at times it seemed like their system for serving was an issue because there would be lots of people around, but they each had individual jobs and things seem to take longer because they would say oh someone else is going to come and get that for you. Likely you’re on vacation and it’s a beautiful spot so you can just sit and relax while you wait to have your order taken or to get a drink or to get your food etc. but relative to an average restaurant it often took quite a long time. * The lobby bar was only open from 4 PM until late evening. For the size of the resort, we found the two open bars, side-by-side near the pool were not ideal as there was nothing on the left side of the resort, if you were laying there for the day. Ironically, the only time we ever had someone come and ask if we wanted to drink was one day when we were laying near the two open bars. Being our first sandals resort, we can’t compare it to any other of their properties. For the price point, there are some things which others might find disappointing but overall it was a very strong resort with a lot of potential for being a top resort, because the property itself is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. If you are going, be sure to book a helicopter transfer, because the ride from the resort is long and can cause motion sickness while the helicopter transfer on the way there was a highlight of our trip!

Wonderful, attentive staff. The building is a little older but well maintained. The bus ride (2 + hours) each way from the airport is the only drawback. Boat and helicopter options are added expense if selected.

We stayed Sunday to Sunday in a Honeymoon Beachview Grande Luxe room. Sandals does an excellent job of providing a trouble free Holiday... Right from check in when we were personally escorted to our room and had the features of the room explained. Sandals staff are second to none. They all are very quick to help and they seem very happy to be working there. Food and restaurants were 5 star. Did not have a bad meal or service. Dined in all but 2 of the restaurants. Loved Gordon's restaurant over the water. It wasn't uncommon to have a manger visit your table to ask how your dinner was and if there was anything else they could do for you. The room was clean and well stocked. Mini fridge with beer and wine. We faced the beach pool,and was a little loud after dinner with music or one of the shows, but we were usually sitting on the balcony watching. After 9:00 pm it was quiet. We are beach lovers so stayed on the beach most of the trip. Sandals has staff on the beach to take your drink order. Swim area was sandy and large enough that we never felt crowded. Never had trouble getting drinks at a bar, or served at a restaraunt. This Sandals has customer service figured out. The only downside to this resort is the drive to and from the airport. Our drive was about 1 hour and 20 minutes, there was no traffic because it was Sunday. We heard it can take longer during the week with more traffic on the road. We just looked at it as a free tour of the island.

We give this resort a 5 star. Amazing service, food, WEATHER, drinks, entertainment. We would definitely return. Only downfall is the long drive from the airport to the resort. But the scenery is beautiful. If we were to do it again we would take the helicopter transfer to save us time.

This experience is over-priced. I think you should get a lot more benefits for what you pay. I think tipping should be allowed in order to have better service. Service staff was often rude, would forget our drinks and would only provide good service if you complained. It seemed like everyone was expecting you to complain in order to get good service. The entertainment staff was practically non-existent. We would try to go to all of the shows but they were vastly disappointing, there was no area setup with chairs in order to enjoy the entertainment, you were left to moving large arm-chairs in the lobby in order to get a glimpse of the show (no stage setup). Day-time entertainment was non-existent, we checked the entertainment office where we were supposed to have access to board games 3 times and it was always closed. Front desk staff said it was open, and it wasn't. Biggest issue was all of the inconsistencies, things occurring at various times different from what is listed, no one announcing what is happening and where. Lack of smiles and hellos from staff across the board. The food was good but not exceptional, we were shamed by the staff when we were unhappy with the rushed meal at Kimonos and then went for sushi because the first meal was not satisfying. We often left the restaurants before our plates were cleared because they took so long to clear them.

Have only been to the Sandals Resort in Grenada before but now am convinced of the quality standard. Grounds are immaculate, location is beautiful. Food and staff first class for the most part. The 2 hour trip from the airport is bearable but they ship you off too soon back to the airport. Had to leave at 10:30 am for a 3:50 pm flight. Air Canada desk not even open when we arrived at the airport. Staff at the Italian restaurant very cold and breakfast service extremely slow but all of the other restaurants completely different. If you dive plan on spending more than half the day. Meet at 8am, leave by 8:30-9:00, 45 to 60 minute boat ride to the sites one way and 1 to 1:30 pm on return.Dive staff was great but then I`ve never met unhappy dive masters. Didn`t swim in a pool for future reference. You know why.

My wife and I spent a week at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian and were extremely happy with our experience. Even though the bus ride to the resort is a bit long, the views are incredible and the time passes fairly quickly. Once at the resort, we were instantly greeted with a glass of champagne and check in was very smooth. Quick Breakdown: Beach & Pools The resort is not very big so the beach and pools are steps away, which is nice. Beautiful beach with plenty of chairs available closer to the bungalows. Can be challenging to get a spot with cover, especially at the main pool so we usually posted up shop at the quieter pool and would head over to the main pool when we were looking to grab a drink & mingle. Overall, no complaints about the beach and pool areas! Food: The food was great and exceeding my expectations. We booked reservations for all 3 restaurants (Indian, Hibachi & Gordon's) and all were fantastic. We had no issues getting a table at any of the other restaurants with no reservation required, since there are so many options at the resort none of them every appeared to be very busy. The lunch options were very good as well, we liked the Jerk Shack and The Mariner had great options as well. Only meal were weren't really a fan of was the Monday Night Beach Party buffet. Many of the restaurants are closed Monday's but some are still open and I would recommend eating there for dinner instead. Service: Both my wife and I found the service to be excellent at this resort and we weren't even Club Level. The front desk would call throughout the week and make sure we were enjoying our stay, the server's were all very friendly and we never met anyone who was rude or tough to deal with. When we were booking this trip, I read some reviews saying the service was slow. We only encountered a few times where this occurred and even then it wasn't that bad at all. You have to remember everybody is on island time! Rooms: We stayed in the Lover's Lagoon Honeymoon rooms. For the price we paid for the week I maybe expected a little more, the room was your average hotel room, nothing very special. However, it was very clean and the bathroom was nice. These specific rooms are some of the cheaper options at the resort so I'm sure if you wanted more elegance you could pay for it. We were basically only in the room to sleep and shower so it was definitely more then adequate for what we needed. I would highly recommend booking JJ's Speedboat Tour! It was an amazing excursion and a great way to see the Caribbean side of the island. We had "No Problem" as our guide and he made the day so much fun and was worth the price of the day trip in itself. Another nice thing is your back at the resort around 2:30 pm to keep the party going at the swim up bar. We also hiked up Pigeon Island which is very close to the resort and provided amazing views of the island. Overall, Sandals Grande was an amazing trip and I would recommend this resort, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion (honeymoon, anniversary, etc.)

Everything about this resort is incredible. All the staff are friendly and eager to help , food was fantastic the resort was 100% clean al the time . Beach is great and so is the pool area. Drinks were great Going back next year Had a few issues at check in but that was resolved very quick. Only thing I don't like is that we found that the resort got busy early in the day with other people coming from the 2 other Sandals. If the cost to stay at the Grand is more then the other 2 Sandals I feel they should stop the shuttles. Might has well stay at the other places and come every day to the Grand and save $$$

Just spent an amazing week at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. What a beautiful location. The resort is situated on a strip of land connecting Pigeon Island to the main island of St. Lucia, with the Atlantic Ocean on one side of the resort and the Caribbean Sea on the other. I must say that I have never been to a resort with such attentive, caring staff. Everyone we encountered were more than willing to make sure our stay was the best. They loved to stop and chat with us and never seemed to busy to spend the time to see how we were doing. They would find us on the beach and bring us drinks. When we asked for a drink and they didn't have the ingredients they would make sure the next time they saw us they would have the ingredient. We stayed in a Lovers Lagoon room (basically the lowest price room). The room had everything we needed, was always kept spotless and had a great view. The fridge was stocked daily with beer, water, juices, pop and both a red and white bottle of wine. We didn't like the Chardonnay so left a note asking for Pinot Grigio and when we came back to the room to find the wine had been changed with a nice note. You won't need to bring a hair dryer or iron as both are provided. One very odd thing was there were no electrical outlets in the bathroom at all. Also, the website says there are North American style outlets in the room, but note there are only 2. The rest are European style. Food was fantastic. We found out when we got to the resort that only the Italian restaurant requires you to dress up for dinner. All other restaurants is casual attire. Favourite restaurant? Kimonos. If possible ask to be seated at Marvins table. We took the speed boat tour, but booked it from a guy on the beach named Lyle. Much cheaper than booking through Sandals and completely worth it. The tour went down the coast to Soufriere for shopping, the volcanic mud baths, some waterfall (not as great as it is advertised), snorkeling and to Marigot Bay to see how the extremely wealthy live. Run punch, beer and "moonshine" are served. If you can afford it I highly recommend taking the helicopter from the airport rather than the shuttle. There's no better way to see the island. And, despite some reviews, the shuttle ride isn't horrible at all. We took it on our way back to the airport for departure. Enjoy your trip!!

The layout at this resort is just perfect. Not too giant as some of the larger Mexico and Dominican resorts are, and not a tiny property either. Food is accessible throughout the resort and in the main concourse area. We stayed in the Massade building, with partial ocean view. This building is very nice and convenient to all amenities. Food is excellent and they have a wide variety of restaurants to suit all tastes. This is our 5th Sandals stay so we knew what were were getting into when we booked. I would rate this as a close second to the Antigua location. We would definitely return to this location again!

We booked the Grande St Lucian based largely off of positive feedback here, as well as positive notes on a similarly unbiased honeymoon aggregator website. Something I had experienced in the past with all-inclusive resorts (even luxury ones) was a feeling of being something akin to cattle being herded around. After spending a week at the Grande, I can unequivocally say it is a cut above, and deserves to be held among the best all-inclusive resorts one can find. Food - 7 separate a-la-carte dining options, all of which boasting exceptional food and a unique ambiance. I noted a number of guests we spoke with were reticent to try the indian (Bombay) and sushi (soy) restaurants - however I chalk it up to lack of willingness to try new things. My highlight would have been Gordon's, or the korean bbq restaurant. Be sure to book your dinner options immediately upon arriving to avoid missing out. Breakfast options are what you would expect, a nice omelet station among other options. Lunch consists of a buffet which changes daily, a bbq restaurant, a jerk meat station and pizza parlour. All were very well done. A building containing 3 of the new restaurants (indian, sushi and korean bbq) was completed approximately 14 months prior to our stay, and it is clear that it has changed the dynamic of the resort for the better. Beach - Very calm waters, and wide variety of non-motorized water sport options. One minor detractor to the beachfront was the ever-present upsell to purchase the use of a sheltered cabana with butler service. I would have preferred Sandals eschew this cash-grab and provide more shaded areas. This is not to say there was any lack of chairs available, I just feel this detracted from the overall beach experience. Hotel amenities - Our room was beautiful, and maison staff were very attentive in turning down the beds and providing anything we required. Happy to leave a tip at weeks' end. Based on speaking with others, I do not think there is any class of room to avoid. Go with what your budget allows, and know that even the furthest room from the beach is no more than a 1 minute walk to the water. The gym was also a fantastic bonus - most resort gyms are abysmal, however we were able to work out each morning with a variety of free weights and machines. Staff - A highlight of our time would be interacting with staff. The local St Lucian staff were exceptionally friendly and genuinely happy to be working there. We submitted positive reviews on more than one bartender and restaurant server, and could go on about it here - but have not had a more positive experience in my travels. Best photographer we rant into at the resort was Oliver; a very skilled man with the Canon EOS and took the best shots of the week. One interesting point of note - multiple staff members expressed their pleasure in the changes made to the resort recently. They said that greater emphasis has been placed on taking care of the staff, and bringing in local people as entertainers. Good on Sandals for supporting local culture! Excursions - We booked the JJ snorkeling/volcano mudpit excursion and were happy to do so. From what we heard from people we met, the other excursions were O.K., however not a must-try. Our group was very boisterous, and we made fast-friends. Watch out for the rum concoction they throw at you on the return trip, some people had an early night following the snorkeling trip. Overall, our experience was positive, and couldn't have hoped for more out of our trip. If you are on the fence from a budget perspective, I would say the additional money spent is well worth it considering the food and effort put into entertainment and attention to detail. Room Tip: Unless you are going for club-level rooms, there is no real reason to spend more on a room.

We had a wonderful time at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. The staff everywhere were amazing, particularly the dive staff and Delia at the Italian Restaurant. Everyone was very pleasant and professional and we felt very safe and in good hands on our dives.

Travelled to Sandals Grande St. Lucian for one week with Air Canada Vacations. This was our 4th trip with Sandals. The Grande St. Lucian is fabulous. All of the staff were incredible. The following stood out: Hetra in Gordon's; Erika at the pool bar; Rochelle bar waitress; Delia and Faith in the Italian restaurant and thanks to Jamal for the special spaghetti and meat balls! We would go diving every other day. The PADI dive shop staff are exceptional with special mention and thanks to: Marcus, Pamella, Martin. It is about an 1 1/2 hours from the airport, it went very quickly in the air conditioned van. You will not be disappointed going to Sandals Grande St. Lucian.

This resort is located on a sheltered bay, making water sports and swimming very easy. Food quality was great. Room (6215) was nice and quiet (note this is a basic room). Dive team excellent. Issues - Sandals did not recognize us as returning guests. This is something tripcentral needed to tell them and didn't. Air Canada rouge flights.

This is probably the best resort i've ever stayed in. The grounds were immaculate, the restaurants were all good (and we did them all!), the rooms were a little dated but there was lots of rooms being redone so i would imagine anyone going there now will have a newly decorated room and the view was amazing (we had an oceanview). The best compliment i can give them though was their service was top notch. Everyone went above and beyond to say hi and make sure our needs were taken care off. They were friendly, courteous, helpful and caring.

Can't say enough about how spectacular this resort was. Grounds were so well maintained, the staff was beyond their call of duty, the food exceeded expectations and the beach was big and beautiful. The entire experience was beyond what we had expected. We would return again and again!!

LOVED the resort and the staff. The only thing that REALLY put me off.... was upon arrival having to fill out an ipad with all of my particulars...flight #, passport, departure date etc. etc. quite lengthy) Very frustrating! When I arrive, I expect all the details (with a few exceptions that I would be happy to provide at the front desk)to be already entered at the front desk. I just want a welcome drink and to be able to soak in the new atmosphere. Paper work or computer work... NO!!!!! That is what I left behind. It started the vacation off on a very negative note for me. Perhaps have these stupid ipads as an option for those who love them, but for me, I want to simply check in with the front desk and begin my holiday sipping on a drink no where near any computer device! Also....live music is needed in the lobby especially during happy hour. The lobby is a bit of a dead zone which is a shame because it is quite beautiful. Still...a really lovely place and I would go again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful resort. Staff was amazing and friendly. Very simple travel experience, where all inclusive was truly all inclusive. We did pay for one excursion outside of the resort, JJ's Speedboat Tour, which was worth every penny!

We went for our honeymoon. We'd been to the Carribean a few times but this was our first time in St Lucia and our first time staying at a Sandals resort and a definite step up in price for us. With that in mind we were really hoping for an amazing vacation. First of all St Lucia in general is incredible and the view from this resort helps you constantly appreciate that. All you have to do is look out over the water and you remember you're in paradise. There are lots of tours available right from the beach (Benny's boat tour recommended) and you can easily walk to Pigeon island (great use of a few hours). The service was consistently good. The bartenders were mostly engaging and creative with their cocktails. Food didn't blow us away but was always good. The facilities were great although we didn't use the gym or the spa (though they will hound you every day to get you into the spa!). The staff are all pretty friendly and want you to have a good time and there's a wide range of activities around the pool throughout the day from bingo to trivia to other more lively competitions... At night it usually got pretty quiet, which we actually didn't mind because we were usually pretty exhausted, but there was always a show or you could hang out in the english bar. Of the other two Sandals resorts we only went to La Toc once for dinner and never saw the Halcyon so we can't say for sure, but I think the Grande was the best - mainly based on the view and the location in the bay. I wasn't a big fan of using the shuttle because it took at least 30 minutes one way and although it was cool to see another resort I didn't really want to waste time on a bus when we could be enjoying our own resort. Overall - highly recommend this spot and even more highly recommend St Lucia as a destination. I'm not sure that what we got completely justified the jump in price from places we were used to going to, but I have no regrets choosing here for our honeymoon. We certainly wouldn't hesitate to go back when we can afford it.

This resort met all our expectations...and those expectations are quite high. Sandals resorts are just a notch above the rest. Nothing has been forgotten. Although they are more expensive than others the extra money is well worth it.

My wife and I had a great time at the Sandals Grande St Lucian. The service and accomadation was excellent. The beach area is very pleasant with lots of sunny and shaded areas, even if you don't arrive early in the morning to reserve you place. The location is also outstanding, with very convenient scuba and snorkelling areas nearby. Guests also have access to the other 2 Sandal resorts nearby (about 15-20 minute using the hotel shuttle). Convenient transportation from and to the airport is provided by helicopter if you are willing to pay an extra fee. The resort is also at waking distance to the Pigeon Island National Park, which is a great place to spend the afternoon and learn an little about the history of St Lucia, see the ruins of an old British fort and garrisons, and enjoy a great view from the island. On the negative side, my only complaint was that the food was not as good as I expected. The food was fine, but definitely not to the standards I expected from Sandals. Some restaurants in the resort, such as the Italian restaurant (I forgot the name) were quite pretentious but the food was no better than what you would get in any of the other more casual restaurants in the hotel. In summary, it was a great resort and I would return to it, despite of the somewhat disappointing food.
