Resort view was pretty the pool was great staff great very friendly how ever food was not good at all not much to choose last day was horrible found cockrochies in the room and the staff did nothing slept in the lobby

Our flight, airport, bus transfer and check in were easy. The food was really good (minus the Italian a la carte..it was almost inedible), but the buffets, snack bar and other a la cartes were all very good ..the Cuban soup was delicious!! The beach was so pretty, the sand was white, entry into the ocean was smooth, water was warm and clear. We did the snorkeling from the resort, the guys running it were very nice, saw tons of fish..it was a highlight of our trip. The pool was our favourite pool out of all the resorts we've been to...very clean, warm and very pretty landscaping. The entire resort was well maintained and the buildings look in good condition. The rooms are very old and dated, but we weren't in there much, so not a big deal. The beds could be bigger, they were a double. Overall we loved a lot about the resort, but we would never go back and the reason is the entertainment....it was very disappointing in all aspects. There was one day of beach/pool entertainment which lasted 20 minutes, there was pretty much no lobby entertainment and that is huge for us. The actual evening entertainment was pretty bad, not worth walking to it. Also, this didnt really matter to us, but there weren't many English speaking people at the resort ..the guests were mainly from Peru, Argentina, Brazil and Russia...we didn't meet any other Canadians, which was different.

We were pleasantly pleased with this resort. Very clean, extremely polite staff, good food and great drinks! Of course, the beach was beautiful, and the pool was quiet and clean. There was plenty of food every day and lots to choose from. I would definitely come back to this resort. We had a wonderful vacation!

So as usual, the beach was fantastic. Pool was great and the pool restaurant was friendly servers and good atmosphere. Many people worry and complain about Cuba but you do have to understand where you’re going in all my visits to Cuba in 20 years. I only had one power outage, which happened the last night I was there Not a big deal. My recommendation would be bring a flashlight and know your limits if you wanna complain about food and so forth then don’t go. The food was plenty full and typical Cuban and tropical and of course there is food for North Americans, such as pizza fries, etc. we had omelets every day and Cuban coffee every day. This is what I expect in Cuba and this is what I got I love the tropical fruit too bad. We didn’t have access to mangoes, but there was still at least 4 to 5 choices. The rooms are old and could be updated. However, they are functional and clean. The staff are always friendly and always love to receive goods and I’m always happy to bring an extra suitcase just full for them and I encourage other people to do that as well. My only suggestion would be if you have your own comforts then bring them and leave behind what you don’t need. I also liked that we had bottled water given to us every day instead of having to purchase it in the past. I would suggest that things are cheaper at the airport, but if you are in the markets, then definitely find what you want there. Sometimes things have been cheaper in the hotels and more expensive in the airport so although I write this today, I know the last time I went to Cuba a year and a half ago it wasn’t true so you really need to read recent posts also I would always suggest choosing the higher star hotel to hopefully get that better condition of a room. One thing I don’t like is how Sunwing has us leaving so late in the day and arriving so late and then we end up having to pay extra to do a late check out. I wish flights were a little bit more convenient and if not, then hotel check out should be negotiated with Sunwing for these kinds of situations. Also, it would be nice that Sunwing would have something posted in their hotel rather than us going and finding them the next day at 12 o’clock, which is inconvenient when all we wanna do is just relax on the beach and vacation however, these personnel are useful for people have not been to Cuba and need all the information. Also, this would be better value for money if Sunwing didn’t overcharge us for March break as it is March break it is not worth such a large amount of money and I would encourage people to go in another season or find a reasonable price for March break. It is not their high season, so it seems like it’s a killer more for us because of Sunwing charging us.

Beth suggested the Melia Peninsula and it was a great hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was a quiet resort, which was perfect for us. The food was good; we had no problem eating more than we should have - the fresh made pasta and omelettes were a hit. The beach and pool were lovely, and we had no trouble getting a lounger (didn't have to race down early to get a spot). The only complaint was that the air conditioner-we were unable to get it to really cool down the room. We did ask them to fix it, but I think it was just the way it worked. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

The best deal we've ever gotten. Really lucky it wasn't crowded, no line ups, fast service and great food/drinks. Rooms are great, air conditioned, hot water, no bugs. Only problem was the exchange,,,, DO NOT EXCHANGE ANY MONEY FOR PESOS!!!!! The Can$ is worth 3 times on the street compared to the bank exchange rates!!! Only bring Canadian CASH, or US if you feel rich and want to pay for that exchange. They love getting a Can$5 bill as a tip. So bring plenty(50-100) of them. You won't regret a trip to VARADERO/Havana/Bay Of Pigs!!!!!

Beach was nice, pool was nice. Food was terrible, mostly cold and the same every meal. Not as we remember Cuba People and staff are wonderful. Choose another location. Best to try another country until things improve in a Cuba. This is definitely not a four plus star resort.

This is not at all a 4 or 4.5 hotel this is a 1-2 stars. For starters the keys to the room was given to us with no details of anything (no map, no instructions on how to access wifi, nothing!). The room did not have any sheets I complain 3 times and every time they said “okay we are bringing them to you” the 4 nights pass and we never got them. The towels smelled like piss and they never change them, no one ever cleaned our room, honestly food was the least of our concerns and that’s a lot to say Lastly not enough beach chairs, we literally saw people fighting over them

Travelled March 23-30. This resort is a nice size. Easily walk to the buffets and restaurants to beach to pool. We were in building closest to beach. The beach is gorgeous! One of the best. There was always lots of beach chairs and hen we were there. It was pretty windy all week so were not able to take out the kayaks or catamarans etc. but still lovely. The pool is nice however the only complaint there would be that they do not have many chairs around the pool. There is plenty of room to have more chairs but we just put our stuff on the cement stairs and stayed in the water so not a huge deal. The food was actually better than expected. There’s always something to eat. There was egg every morning at the omelette station and lots of other choices. The coffee at the bar beside the buffet is much better than the coffee they give you in the buffet! The entertainment was ok. There was a show each night in or outside of the lobby. The rooms were the worst part. Our room was ground floor. There was mold and mildew in the closet and water dripping from the air conditioner. The beds were not the most comfortable but were fine. Water leaked all over the floor after every shower. Our maid was great though. We always had toilet paper and towels and water n the room. Our safe worked and the door locked. No issues with our key cards. All in all we had a great vacation. The staff were great! So friendly. And the price was great.

Melia Peninsula was amazing… Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was wonderful and personable. The beach was amazingly clean…lounge chairs always available. Only down side which is unavoidable no matter where you go in Cuba is food shortages and variety…but what was available there was plenty… Bring condiments and snacks and enjoy the Cuban culture

The pictures on line are very old and deceiving, the outside water fountains had either no water in them or had 6 inches of green water in them.The food overall was good, the La Cart restaurants were great, staff ( with the exception of our room maid) were very friendly and helpful. Had some shortages on Cola and white wine. Would not recommend, and would not go back. Another downside is the villa layouts, you are either close to pool and beach and have a long walk for bars and food or versa.

The grounds were very well kept .The rooms were clean, could use a little updating but pretty good. The food was great for Cuba. Lots of alcohol, but ran out of different mixes everyday. The pool was well kept. Internet worked well and was free. The beach was nice. Entertainment was good. Staff were great. For the price you should not complain.

Poor cleaning management really rude ....terrible food and drinks... but great stuff except management really really rude...I will never go back....they never clean my room.lots bugs ? and super dirty rooms

We stayed here five years ago and had a good experience so we thought we would go again. Unfortunately the resort was rundown. Rooms didn’t lock. Mattress very old and lumpy. Food is just okay but we didn’t expect too much in that area. Definitely book the restaurants if you go for fresher food. After 3 when lunch closes at main buffet you only have the pool bar for limited fried foods. Pool was lovely and beach as always amazing.

We were shocked to see so many things wrong with this hotel. Where do i start? I will write in point format: - Was surprised that food was good. Especially ice cream. - Beach is amazing - Staff are friendly - No animation for kids (Animation team is siting and smoking next to the pool) When i asked why they are not playing sports with guests, they told me that they have no ball. ;( - Rooms are very old and not renovated. - Safe in room broken - Cleaning was fast and efficient, but bed sheets unchanged all week - Door lock on room door was broken - The Gym has some good equipment, but sauna is in bad shape. - A la carte restaurant puts tap water into water bottles they serve. We all got sick on our last day. I later saw how they fill water into the water bottles. - Front desk employees look surprised and seem like they are there as a favor. Generally speaking, this hotel is far from 5 stars even by Cuban measurements. 3 Cuban stars at most.

Ground is beautiful ( need more light in the night) Service was great in the dining room area Staff are friendly Rooms are clean but outdated . The snack bar staff were great Atmosphere was very quiet . The accessibility room was lacking thoughts It had enough room for regular showers + the seating hand held shower Not enough bars to hold on for the elderly. Overall it was a great week and a great place .

This was the worst experience ever in Cuba. Nothing really worked properly at the resort. Rooms were not clean, we did not get clean towels or water. It was a struggle to find someone to help. They were just not interested. Not enough food.. only pasta and rice. I would not recommend this resort better to pay more and go somewhere else. Especially if you are travelling with kids!!

My second time coming to Melia Peninsula Varadero was another amazing experience. From the amazing staff at Reception (Melissa and Jany) and many others making everything perfect for our arrival, ensuring all our rooms were close together. Going above and beyond making my 40th Birthday extra special with Champaign and Chocolate in the room, a dinner reservation for my birthday. All the reception staff were great with assisting in anything we needed. A special shout out to Melissa in customer service who found us some crutches to use after one of the girls hurt her foot. We also had the best housekeeper Yenis who always went above and beyond making sure we had everything we needed in our room. We didn't have to ask for extra water she always made sure we had lots. Most mornings were spent on the beautiful beach where lifeguard Luis would help get enough beach chairs ready for our group,drinks served by the bar staff on the beach. Nothing was any trouble for them. Everyday there was beach volleyball, water aerobics, and interaction with the entertainment staff. The entertainment staff go the extra mile to spend time with you ensuring you are having a great time (Christian,Jean, Chocolate Nutella, Karmen, Elio, Jenny and many others) you are an amazing team that works so well together to keep the guests happy. In the afternoon the entertainment moves to the main pool providing music and entertainment. They went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special with cake at the night beach party. The pool staff/lifeguards Leisser, Eduard, Yariolkis were all great and joined in our fun. Special shout out to all the pool bar/24 hour snack bar staff that always made sure our drink cups were full. Daniel, Yoyo, Sergio, Isamary, Lianet you guys are the BEST we can't thank you enough for taking great care of us. Luis Miguel at the 24 hour snack bar looked after us at night making sure we always had drinks and food. Thank you for putting up for us. Everyone always worries about the food in Cuba, we had no complaints we all found something to eat every day. The a la carte were all great! Special thanks to Bruce Willis for always having a big enough table ready for our large group and to the food manager Victor for the special gesture he did for our group. We all had a great time at this resort and I will not hesitate to go back again and again. It's 100% the staff that make this resort what it is!

We arrived at 5 o’clock first couple got a room by 7 all luggage was put in that room ( there was 8 in our group) then my daughter and I got a room at approximately 8 ish and the last 4 didn’t get there room until 12 o’clock had to move everything at that time because no one working to help the rooms were very big and clean the pool area was always clean having a lunch hut at the pool was very nice nice short walk to the ocean

The resort was perfectly nice. They have shows in the evenings and activities during the days. The resort is family friendly - one of the two pools was for kids. The non-kid pool was quite warm, it wasn’t as refreshing as I’d hoped on a hot day, but we’re not in Cuba for the pools. The hotel is not ideal for younger crowds who want a more lively experience. Food was decent by Cuba’s standards but not the top/best. Beach water was beautiful but I wish they’d clean up the rocks and shells on the shore by the water - it hurt to walk on and I even saw a piece of glass in the sand. Overall good experience! But I’d opt for another resort for personal preferences.

We just came back, the hotel itself is ok but very dated - definitely need an update. Toilets in a main lobby are broken and didnt look like they will be repaired any time soon. staff ok - some better some worse but very, very slow.. Lots of them look like they cannot be bothered.. no issues with food but due to shortages there is lack of vegetables and fruit (but obviously thats not a hotel fault) Avoid this hotel if you dislike Russians as this hotel was full of them!! they are rude, arrogant, they behave like they own the place! I was shocked to see so many of them! The only good thing is their sense of clothing because thats very, very laughable

Given the fact it is Cuba it is a bit lacking on stuff. No butter but lots of bread. Also the resort had done its best to accomidate us but with the embargo its hard for them we get that. The staff were great except on e bad encounter which Victor the food and beverage manager rectified promptly. Good vacation otherwise now we are looking forward in our booking with Trip Central to Mexico last day of Aug. Plan on a trip to Cuba next year. Till next time. Chanse and Stephanie

Onsite rep for Hola sun rep was nothing but rude and had poor attitude towards any sort of complaint. Hotel customer service Roy is just as horrible! Roy likes to yell when you challenge anything he says and will call hotel security to weasel his way out of confrontation.

We stayed for 7 days my friend son have allergies, from the front desk to customer service to chef and kitchen helpers satisfied her needs. We are greatful to all their help. The servers Daniella, Cardinal, Ric, Jennysy, Stephanie are very helpful to us. Chef Santiago done beyond the needs of the kid who have allergy with the help of kitchen supervisor Janet. Our room attendant Katie is funny and very helpful 10 thumbs up to all the staff of the Melia Peninsula Varadero till next time

The resort was a little dated, a few areas need to be updated ie rooms, pool area is small and the theatre is not 4 star. The biggest disappointment were the drinks. All were served in small juice glasses even cocktails like pina coladas. Wine was served in a tiny champagne glass and both white and red wine were not available at dinner. Even the Italian restaurant had no red wine. The drinks were watery with very little alcohol. We had a difficult time finding even one that was good. The beach bar and pool bar did a better job. The food was surprisingly good. Great bbq chicken at the beach restaurant. The staff was for the most part friendly and accommodating. Beach was beautiful

I was really disappointed in my trip here. The outside of the resort is nice. The rooms are not. Originally they would have been but they haven’t been well maintained. The grout was dirty, the taps corroded, the bathroom counters were never cleaned. I found the bed to be very uncomfortable as well. I switched rooms the first day as my first room was really bad. The second room was better but not by much. The safe didn’t work and even though I told them it was a battery issue (a light said so), I had to spend 2 mornings in my room waiting for people who never came. The pool was lovely but people put towels on their chairs and then go to the beach for most of the day. They don’t serve drinks, you go to the bar to get them, if that matters to you. The chairs are old as well, so weren’t super comfy. You can’t see the beach until you’re on it. It is beautiful and I always got a chair (which were older than the pool chairs) but I saw a lot of people who got there and there were no chairs left. And then there was the food. They obviously tried to make nice food but it was the same food every day and at every restaurant. I know they have trouble getting supplies but there are different ways to make chicken. Also, I got food poisoning while there and spent a day and a half in my room. They don’t have their food on ice or on heat. So it’s just sitting at room temperature. The staff was friendly but I didn’t find that they were overly personable. The resort was missing that special feeling when the staff get to know you. Like I said, they were friendly and helpful to me, but just didn’t connect. I definitely wouldn’t come back to this resort. I love cuba and this holiday dampened that a bit. Also, I’m not a traveller who expects perfection. I’ve backpacked and stayed in hostels, which were sometimes nicer than my room here. Just to give you some perspective on my review.

The single worst experience of my life. Where to begin????? Staff were lukewarm at best, with the exception of the lovely lady making omelettes for us for breakfast each morning. Roma we’re not cleaned during our stay, toilet paper was worth its weight in gold and scarce, air conditioning unit leakiest all night into our room and on the last day we learned that our room door did not need a key to enter.

Constantly running out of food- food quality poor (and I have been to Cuba before, but nothing like this). We were told to convert our money to Cuban Pesos to find out they do not accept them anywhere (or do so with reservation). We did not get the room we asked for, the beds were uncomfortable, furniture was broken, smelled of mold. We had our towels replaced once. We never got even a bath mat. A couple of days we received no new water. The pool was under construction every day- removing a structure or fixing something broken, hard to tell.

Arrived on Saturday march 11th. First room we had the lock didn’t work. They moved us into a different room after the lock couldn’t be fixed. 2nd room the card didn’t work properly. Had to get it fixed almost everyday. No food selection but I can’t blame the hotel for this as the entire island is struggling. Cleanliness in the food hall was an issue. The seemed to use the same dirty cloth to wipe down all the tables.

I've been travelling to Cuba for over 20 years and have stayed in every type of resort from 2 to 5 stars. This property is the worst and so badly maintained that it is outright dangerous. Before getting to all the negative, on the plus side; the beach is beautiful, the staff is great and the food is more than adequate. At one time, I couldn't see that this was a great resort; however, due to poor management and absolutely no maintenance.... there are random holes throughout the property which a small child could fall into or even an adult could be seriously injured. Not to mention the dangers of metal spikes and rebar protruding from cement. Both swimming pools had green algae growing throughout the pool. Tripcentral should be ashamed to sell this resort. The tour operators should be held liable for their representation of this property

Two travelers that have been to Cuba previously with great experiences pre-Covid (once to another Meliã 5 star resort). We were anticipating some changes post-Covid and friends had great experiences in 2022. After speaking to others at the end of the week, it seems like their resorts were generally better and had incredible food... We most certainly overpaid for this vacation and are disappointed. POSITIVES: Beautiful and spacious lobby, bar and outdoor seating; Friendly and helpful maids, servers (at the buffet) and front desk staff; Delicious donuts in the morning, ice cream, coffees and omelettes Beautiful beach (not very close to all rooms though) NEGATIVES: Very old and uncomfortable mattresses; Only one body pillow per single bed (had to fold it to sleep comfortably); Almost always no toilet paper in all public bathrooms (main building, pool, beach); Poorly lit pathways at night and unclear signage for various buildings (no one able to clearly direct us to the Italian à la carte restaurant after asking 3 different staff members); Missing basics like butter, ketchup, syrup, bananas; Most warm foods were cold and desserts were frequently dry and stale; Terrible food at the Japanese (sushi with no chopsticks, inauthentic Japanese tepanyaki food) & Italian (same overcooked and cold pasta that is served at the buffet...) à la carte restaurants (maximum of two per week and only three options); Unable to get pool towels one day (asked if there would be more later and was told "no"); International outlet converter required for hair tools (phones charged with no issue)

I would categorize our stay here as middle of the road, the staff were mostly friendly and the resort is decent shape over all like anywhere in Cuba they do the best they can with what they have. Several shortages were experienced but this is common place right now anywhere in the world overall I would give this resort a solid 3 our of 5. Sanitizer was widely available throughout the resort but in reality if your still concerned about cough 19 then why are you traveling anywhere but a Psychiatrist.

The best part of the holiday was the warm weather:) we arrived very late @12:30AM . the guy dropped us to the place where the building was, there was no light to see where we were going (We are seniors! )Plus they put us on the 3rd floor! We had problems with the safe , the shower as the doors couldn’t close so water accumulated on the floor outside, the balcony door was impossible to open , etc…. This cost us half a day , breakfast and lunch ,as we had to wait for maintenance!. The front desk is not too efficient as they say ok and nothing happened! we had to check back twice later and on the third try they told my husband to got to a room at the side and speak to public relations. He(Pub.Rel.) said no one told him and our name was not on the list of problems!! On the brighter side the guy who fixed the shower door etc was very good as he fixed it all. However not a good way to start a vacation is it? .They never replaced our bath towel mat or the face towel ( which they took away because it was soaked with water ) all the time we were there. We found it was no use to complain! we had to use our bath towels the whole week as they said they had no clean towels!! All else was ok with small issues but after the start we had we expected to have issues.

The hotel was not what was advertised in the vacation package. The place was quite run down and needs a facelift. The food was good and plentiful. The staff were amazing and helpful. The Beach was lovely but definitely could have used more beach loungers as all loungers were being used or saved with a towel.

just keep looking. consider dominican republic or perhaps communist china before this hotel. food is crap, service is a dirty word, buildings are in disrepair, and the employees could not give a shit.

We had a great time myself Tracy and jeremy have been there 3 times we enjoy it get staff there am have met many friends. My friend Donna her first time she enjoyed it. It is a very clean resort and well kept likes how the tractor went down and cleaned the sand. Room staff amazing very friendly and willing to help you out. Food was great as well would so go again .

The hotel itself is beautiful, no issues on food shortages due to Covid. The bartenders, grounds keepers and dining service staff were all excellent. Sadly our room was terrible, beds held together with 2X4’s if you sat on the end of the bed legs would fall off. No fresh towels, floor never swept, water not replaced in room without special request, linen not changed at all in the seven days. To top it off although money was left as were gifts maid still stole items from both of our rooms. If a complaint is filed a full investigation needs to be held, clearly taking longer than a seven day trip would allow. Although based on other guest experiences ours seemed to be an isolated issue…. Building stayed in was by the children’s pool. Most we spoke to were by the main pool and raved about their service.

Everything runs pretty smoothly. Friendly staff, at the buffet. Bar staff aren't very quick to serve, so it took patience when waiting. Food is unique, and not what we're used to, but plentiful. Entertainment is different every night. Clean pools, clean rooms. Our toilet leaked but that's the only real problem. Housekeeping made unique displays of our bed blankets daily. Excursions we chose were fantastic. Very knowledgeable tour guides. Miles of clean beach to walk and swim. Cuba is so safe, we could even take the local bus into Varadero for shopping and walk the streets with no safety concerns. Plenty to see and do. Considering all that is involved for Cuba to provide the necessities that we take for granted, I was pleased with all that was provided for the price.

The hotel needs comprehensive renovations: Bathroom with mold, Balcony doors not closing, Cockroaches in the bread stand of the restaurant. Safety box not working. Receptionists were attending your needs only if you give them tips upfront. Hola Sun rep was not to be found during our stay.

Just came back from a 5 day vacation at Melia. Had a great time and kids had a blast. It is a clean resort with the majority of the facilities working except for some of the hand dryers were not working in some of the common area toilets. Some of the toilets run out of tissue. Room was clean but dated, air-conditioning was cold. The food was the same everyday, but you will never go hungry. Pleasant staff. Overall, it is an amazing resort for what Cuba has to offer. Free wifi

Customer service especially receptionist are very rude. They only have one buffet restaurant, one international, Italian and Japanese restaurants. They only have one standard bar and don't go with website list as this is the reality.

The resort has beautiful grounds and is clean and well maintained. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The restaurants are easy to book and the food was very good. The buffet had a wide variety every day and the a la cartes had super service. There are tons of activities for singles, couples and families and the entertainment team was superb. The beach is, of course, the highlight of your stay here. Some negatives: There are not enough chairs at the beach and pools so it is difficult to get a chair when the resort is full. Also, beach towels often run out. The towels are not the resort's fault, but rather the fault of selfish guests.

Just spent a week at this hotel and we’re very pleased with everything! Booked the vacation with uncertain expectations due to Covid and supply shortages in Cuba. The beach was exceptionally nice and clean. The hotel and grounds were well maintained and clean. The rooms could use a little upgrading ( bathroom and showers amazing). The staff were very outgoing and friendly and seemed to go the extra mile to make our vacation great. This resort had all the condiments that’s my teenagers love!

Nice staff, beautiful beach and plenty of foods.There is one restaurant near swimming pool to provide 24 hours of food service. Free Wi-Fi is also fast enough for us to keep in touch with friends and relatives outside of cuba.

Overall the place was good. they did run out of toiler paper but other than that I had a relaxing time at this resort. staff was very friendly. lots of families. beach was very nice and clean. enjoyed the fun and drinks

I found this place nice and the staff were friendly. The room was not in great shape and needed some repairs. The towels were not changed for five days. Some plugs did not work. The other areas were nice.

The grounds at this resort are amazing very well kept and really nice and green. The pool and beach area lots of room we were able to find a lounger any time we went to either. However, we spend majority of our time at the beach. You can walk for miles on the beach. The staff went beyond and back to help you. The service was great. Entertainment was very good, so we never left the resort during our stay. Our room was only steps away from the beach and pool. Building 26. I feel the resort was only operating at 50 per occupancy. The resort did their best with their food. There was plenty of chicken, pork, eggs and fish. Limited pasta and bread. On our last day there was no milk even at the airport for our coffee. Cuba is just started to get back on their feet for tourism. Speaking to others on that attended resorts in Varadero there was always something that the resort ran out of during their stay. However during our stay the resort never ran out of wine. We knew that food could be an issue before we booked. We have no regrets going to this resort the people of Cuba always treated us with great kindness. Only thing there was no hand sanitizer at the resort. The beach and pool restaurant the hand dryer was not working. Some of the workers wore facemask while others never wore them. Bottom line we still had a fantastic vacation which we booked seven-days prior to departure. All Canadians remember don't tip with Loonies or Tonnies the workers have no way of cashing them in for money. My spouse felt sorry for the workers and went around and cashed in her paper money for coin.

Pros - the beach is amazing, the pool and swim up pool bar is amazing, great selection of drinks and access to drinks/bars, bungalow concept for rooms was really nice and allowed us to walk around and enjoy the weather/scenery, coffee bar and latte’s near main lobby were absolutely amazing!, the nightly bands/singers were pretty good although short sets. The food - breakfast had an awesome spread - omelettes, waffles, pastries, egg station, bacon, etc.- was great. Lunch and dinner were pretty similar and choice of meat (pork, beef, chicken) or fish and rice, pastas, salad bar. Cons - the room was pretty basic, we had a problem with our shower but it wasn’t a deal breaker. For the price great value we had a great week!!!

The facilities were super clean, beach was amazing, staff super friendly, access to doctors, spa, gym, tennis, etc…couldn’t ask for more. Weather in CUBA has always been super nice every time I’ve been. This was my 11th time.

I found the hotel very well equipped and comfortable. The air-conditioning did not work Power went out every day at least three to four times per day The food was good, and the hotel staff are doing a very good job post covid with cleaning and at the buffet.

Beach amazing. Staff wonderful. Great cappuccinos. Resort rooms need upgrading. Supply issues for everything but meat, pasta and rice. Day 3 of 7 they ran out of wine !!!! They ran out of wine!!!! They ran out of wine !!!!

We had a great time staying at this resort as a family with 2 kids (2 and 4 years old). A few things weren't ideal. 1) Timing of meals. The lunch buffet started at 1 pm and dinner at 7 pm. Restaurant that normally opens at 11 am by kid pool was closed so the only place to get lunch before 1 pm was the snack bar at the adult pool which had very limited options. I ended up making sandwiches for the kids at the breakfast buffet and taking those with me. 2) The family rooms are at the furthest point at the resort from the beach. It's a bit of a walk from the room to the beach. We really liked the bunk beds in the family room and the proximity to the kid pool, but for some families it may be more convenient to get a regular room closer to the beach. It's easy to take a stroller to the kid pool. It's more challenging to take a stroller to the beach. We really liked the kid pool with water slides. The resort was not busy at all so it was easy to get shady spots on the beach and by the pool. The staff were all incredibly friendly.

Our agent, Carol Webber recommended Melia Peninsula varadero and I am so glad we went with it. Was better than expected. My biggest concern was the bathroom but I was relieved to find it clean, well maintained and modern. Food wasn’t the best with same food day in day out but it wasn’t bad. The hotel restaurants could do better - felt like buffet was food served at the Italian one. The Japanese one was a good experience but the food was blah - we ended up at the buffet after. The hotel had some nice dance shows! Very entertaining. Most staff were friendly but receptionists need to improve on pleasantness. Serious faces with an attitude are not warm and welcoming.

We had a great stay at this resort. This resort is small in size and everything is close by. The rooms are simple and clean and all have hot water and an air conditioner. We stayed right in front of the only swimming pool and the snack bar. Food-wise was a limited choice, as many products are not available in Cuba; for example, the snack bar had limited food such as hamburgers, fries, tuna sandwitches and hotdogs but, it run out of food sometimes, and the other restaurants were kind of recycling the other food with some creative food recipe choices. Staff are respectful and caring and they are welcoming. The grounds are kept clean, the beach is amazing, and it has sufficient chairs for everyone. They offer transportation with your package, and that is very helpful. There was some entertainment, such as pool Zumba, water polo and dance classes. My only suggestion is to try to showcase their culture a bit more, there were a lot of international themes, but most people coming are from different parts of Europe and America, and it would be nice to see to learn about the culture of Cuba. Drinks the beer was nice, and rum with coke, besides that, drinks were not that great. Overall, I give the resort 3 stars, as I have been to others that are better maintained, and have better food choices.

Melia Peninsula had a nice enough beachfront with lots to do in the water. A little deceiving though because you would think that all the water stuff would be free but it isn’t. The pools were really nice and big and the waterslide was a hit with the kids, but they were not clean they were very dirty especially the adult pool. There was a lot of algae all over the walls, you know exactly why and it’s disgusting. The rooms were nice, the cleaners did a good job, lovely view from every balcony. Lots and lots of walking to go to meals, to pools, and to the beach. Shows were good mostly quite good some a bit silly. Most staff were very accommodating, but at times neglectful. The food was quite bad in the fact that it was redundant every single day there was hardly any changes in the menu at the Buffet. they are very stingy with food at the pool bar, and they didn’t serve wine there which made me sad lol. I would say the front desk staff were not the greatest. Espresso‘s were amazing at the espresso bar and the staff are really good there tooo. The kitchen manager is what made my trip better! He was always checking in on us. Dinner didn’t start till 7 PM! That’s outrageous knowing this is a family resort! I am not sure if I’d go back there but I wouldn’t suggest not going there but it wasn’t my most favourite spot.

Looks can be deceiving! What looks like a beautiful newer resort on the outside, was an absolute nightmare to stay in. From the resort running out of food daily to feed guests, to having to wait up to 45 minutes to receive food. Fire alarms going off almost nightly. Air conditioners in rooms no working, cockroaches' in room! 6 a la cart restaurants closed. Miserable staff and no communication between staff & customer service. This was my 6th trip to Cuba and because of this experience I will NEVER return.

The hotel was very Covid lax until someone tested positive then it was mask and sanitizer everyone panicking. Food decent but hotel not very clean. Staff are friendly One maid stole my sons epi pen I guess it’s expensive to obtain. Wish they would of asked I would of gave it to them.

Was very happy with the resort the people that work there are so kind and helpful. The resort property is clean and it’s beautiful to walk around. But when it comes to the food and drinks we weren’t to happy about the selection. They keep running out of different foods and you ask any they didn’t have anymore. The drinks were the same, they had only their brand of liquor. The second week was getting better for food and drinks. But overall I would go back to the resort. The service was excellent and rooms were nice and big. The ocean was beautiful and sand.was clean.

We very much enjoyed the resort until checkout when we had suddenly to pay for a beach towel that was stolen from my son when he went to the pool for 5 minutes. His glasses were even on the towel. We were wondering who would steal the towel within the resort. It was very upsetting as we were not even told how much we had to pay before accepting the towels and that they seem to get stolen frequently. I would have given a good rating, but the way I was treated at the end nearly ruined my vacation.

Everything was super clean, well kept, staff was always busy working and very friendly all the time. No complaints at all. Food was fine for me always something good, pool was a little too cold that’s all I could say. Management and all the staff were really great, made our vacation wonderful

Just a great resort for kids. The staff is wonderful. The food, delicious by Cuban standards. What a beach! The pool is great as well. The only comment would be the bathroom designs which leaked water. And the elevators. It's hard to keep stainless steel looking pristine. Olive oil helps and they need a coat of paint and potted palms. Other than that. It was my best vacation yet. I relaxed, finally, my boy had a ball. He is golden and happy.

Small resort situated on a beautiful sandy beach, Melia Peninsula is a good place to spend a week long vacation. The beach has plenty of chairs and protection from the sun, we did not have to reserve a place in the morning. There is one pool for adults, but the music can be loud during activities. Nice installations for small kids with their own pool and center. We found the food ok but repetitive. But with the situation in Cuba, we were expecting this. Friendly staff and our Air Transat people very helpful. Overall we got what we were looking for: clean room, superb beach and sun!

Overall a good quality resort for Cuba. We have been to Cuba to various areas over a dozen times, so we had a reasonable expectation. The beach in front of this resort is great, lots of beach for napping/tanning/playing, the Ocean has a nice shallow walk in to the Sandbar for the kids, and the bar and water sports are close by. There was lots of shade huts as well. it was a short walk back to Pool bar or Beach Bar for Lunch or snacks. The Kids poos was the hit of the week, very large, slides are great, and nice and shallow for thoes that wanted it. Our kids had a blast there, my only disappointment was the bar there did not have beer, so I had to walk to the lobby bar... The rooms were nice and clean. We had the family suite with the bunk beds, and contrary to what i've read, they are plenty sturdy and safe for the kids to sleep on. The bathrooms are upgraded and everything seemed to work in the room. The staff were mostly helpful and provided good service, there are always the few that seem to not want to work so hard, which is frustrating. We were there 1's week of March 2020 which is not their full buys season yet, so they are not fully staffed either, so sometimes it seemed they were a bit under staffed. The food was about what we've expected as far as quality and basic options. Lately there have been shortages on certain supplies and unfortunately for us, they had no cheese so we could not have Pizza at the pool grill :(:( that was probably the biggest disappointment. Also we had no buns for the burgers for a couple days either, so the kids were a bit disappointed with not many options of what to eat. But we always found something to eat and never went hungry, Cubans are very good at improvising with what they have. Our trip to Varadero was great, Yes they pack the Bus that goes there ($5 each, kids 6 and under free) but it's part of the experience! Just be aware that the horse and buggy rides are priced per person! they will say $10 per hour and will not mention the per person fact until you arrive at the destination. And when they want to take you to the private restaurant, while it is lovely, it is very overpriced.. But overall we had a great week, great weather and i would still recommend this resort.

The Melia peninsula was a mixed bag of good and bad. I could easily tell they spend a lot of money and effort on the grounds and booze, but nobody who worked there seemed to understand English or had a welcoming attitude. The bank refused to cash in my American money which I purposefully brought as I mistakenly thought it was welcomed form of currency. There was no Cuban music or much entertainment the whole week. The restaurants are just more food from the buffet which was bland or salty. They had very good French fries and americano and espresso.They kept the room clean and tidy everyday but one time I thought they just reused the same bedding. They were supposed to refill the room bar but if you didn’t take a certain thing they would take it away and not replace it. This was annoying as I wanted to enjoy the cans of beer but at a later time. The wifi was only available in the lobby and there were limited working plugs. I missed my rep meeting after the arrival because it was scheduled for the morning but my arrival wasn’t until 3am so I slept in. As such I missed a lot of pertinent information that would have made my stay better and the rep wasn’t available much after that. When I asked to go on an excursion, I wanted reassurance that I wouldn’t be left alone in the city and was assured I wouldn’t be, which didn’t turn out to be true. Later when I brought it up to the rep she passed the blame on to the tour guide and basically made fun of me for complaining saying nothing bad happened to me. I didn’t like the smoking everywhere on the beach and outdoors or the constant loud dance music. Also everyone seemed to want a tip. Other than all that, the heat was amazing and the ocean was great. It was interesting to see Havana. I probably wouldn’t go again though.

Grounds were beautiful and room was very clean and spacious Pool was clean as well. Food was mediocre but could always find something that we liked The beach was small and crowded. Possibly because of the tide but we did not use the beach for that reason

The Resort was beautiful, clean and nicely kept. Not sure if was because of the season but there was lack of staff. At the beginning of our stay, there were not many waitresses/waiters in the main buffet rooms. Also rooms were made up very late into the day. But in the last 3 days, we noticed an increase of staff and faster service. The team in the kids club were great. My kids had a blast. The rooms were clean, pools, washrooms were all clean. The people are super friendly, regardless if they get a tip or not. Also, even though a lot of people like the extra $$ the best things to bring for gifts for those special staff who treat you extra special are soaps, toothpaste, deodorants, creams, nuts, chips, candies etc. As per my discussions with the people there, they do not get good quality products and are very grateful for them. The food was not the greatest and remained the same every day. There was just a lack of spices, seasonings -- salt. Bring some mayonnaise, ketchup and hot sauce and you won't complain. The beach was amazing, water was great!! The entertainment was not the best, as in other islands in the Caribbean. But it didn't matter too much. My overall experience was great and I would definitely go back.

From the moment we entered the lobby, & were met with a cold drink ,to our departure 7 days later, we were very pleased with our resort choice. The management & staff did everything they could to make our stay as stress free & comfortable as possible. The grounds were immaculate. There was always shade & loungers. The mini bar was generously stocked every day & the buffet had great selections. We tried the Japanese, Cuban & Bistro a la cartes - made a nice change. Our maid kept our room well stocked. The entertainment was very nice. Every staff member we met was polite & helpful - always a smile & Hello. The bed was comfortable & we loved the view of the ocean from our balcony. Would return here again. Fun resort for couples or families

2nd time at Melia Pennisula Resort (first visit 2017) and the hotel still was as good as the first time. There were some noticeable improvements to the grounds. Beach was beautiful - always able to find a lounge chair. Pool was good. Pool bar food wasn't as good as the first time however. Service overall was really good - people were very friendly. The evening entertainment was ok. A la carte restaurants were good - enjoyed the Japanese one the most. Buffets were good.

Really enjoyed this resort. It was smaller than others we have been to but there was always plenty of space and seating in public areas.Room was nice, best shower I've seen in Cuba so far. Love the entertainment at the lobby in the evenings. Went to the spa twice for a massage which was wonderful. The food was typical Cuba, this hotel was no better but no worse than others we're stayed at. Service was very good. I would recommend this hotel.

Just returned from an amazing week at Melissa Peninsula Varadero. Upon arrival we were greeted by very friendly staff who were very fast and efficient. The resort is beautiful. Meticulously landscaped, and very clean. The buffet while not the biggest selection, was always good and service was great. We did the Italian and Japanese ala carte’s both were outstanding. The beach is second to none, just outstanding with lots of chairs. The pool area could use more shade areas, but has lots of seating. The lobby bar although busy at times was always staffed by very friendly hardworking bartenders and waitresses. The nightly entertainment was okay but would have liked a bit more variety. Our housekeeper Alicia(room 1431) was just outstanding, keeping our room spotless and always surprising us with her towel creations. Thank you so much Alicia it was a real pleasure talking with you. I would definitely recommend this resort. Thanks to all the staff and management for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be returning. Special thanks to our travel agent Kevin Dupuis (Trip Central) for recommending this resort.

The resort itself was okay, food was Cuba typical. Our beach towels were stolen from the pool area and staff didn't do anything about it. We ended up having to pay for towels which most like report staff took.

The room was spacious and clean. The cleaning staff were friendly and helpful. Not all the staff at the desk were helpful some were outstanding and made up for those who were less helpful. We actually ate at theJaponese restaurant twice because we enjoyed it so much. Of course the beach is beyond reproach. In all I give it a 4+ rating.

Average hotel. Rooms average, clean. Restaurants very good. The buffet was good but meals were repetitious. Beach and pool were beautiful and clean. The drinks at the outside bars were not very good, but hotel drinks were very tastey. Was good place to stay for the value

The staff were all fantastic, the grounds well cared for and the beach amazing. Not overcrowded easy to get around the resort. We felt as though our trip was important to them. Exceeded my expectations for Cuba by far. The food was not my favorite in the Caribbean, but we always found something to eat we certainly did not go hungry. I went to Cuba saying it would be a one time only trip, I would definitely return.

Great place, especially our waitress at the buffet. Maria was always attentive and so sweet. Water was plentiful despite other online reviews. Rooms were good. Food was plentiful. Check in /lobby desk was frustrating, they didn't understand some of the questions and requests as well as other staff but overall we didn't have too much trouble. Customer service office and phone office were only sporadically staffed which was tested our patience but being on holidays we tried to take it all in stride and plan ahead. Very nice resort for the price.

This was my first vacation to Cuba & I was very pleased with the resort. Our room was spacious & spotlessly clean. Our maid surprised us each day with her creativity in turning our blankets/towels into swans. The food was quite good but some of the meat dishes weren’t properly cooked. We had no problem with the chicken & fish. There was a good selection of side dishes. Service was a bit slow at the buffet and bar but all staff were very friendly & pleasant. There was entertainment nightly & the music was outstanding! The Transat reps were available everyday & excursions were easily booked through them. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable vacation!

Beds were really uncomfortable. Food was a 5 out of 10. Ocean and Beach was great. Pool was freezing. Entertainment was a 4 out of 10. I wouldnt return to this resort. ................................

The grounds were very nice. Food was ok but not excellent. Went 3 days without bath towels, they took their time in providing the towels. Excursions were very good. The room was clean, the shower was really nice with a huge shower head and lots of hot water.

Six of us spent 1 week at Melia Peninsula and were happy to see the day to leave. One of the couples had been at this resort twice before and had a wonderful experience. This time around they noticed conditions had deteriorated. I have been to Cuba many times before and have never had a bad experience. At this hotel food ran out everyday and was never to be seen again that week. Small portions of meats were put on BBq at a time so you were lucky to get any. constantly out of mojito, Cuba's famous drink and other drinks. Just a few examples of the food situation. Pool was shut down one day for most part of the day to manually clean it. Friends spent 2 days with zero towels and toilet paper even after numerous complaints to front desk. My room had no bathroom door. Must have broken and never fixed. Bar fridge not working. Phones in room also not working. Again just a few examples. Grounds was pretty though. Entertainment was mediocre. I hate to be so negative as I love Cuba and will return but not at this hotel.

Had a great time,met great people stuff was awesome food could’ve been a little better but the la la carts were awesome . Rooms are nice and clean had some issue with the blow dryer that was fixed the next day

We had an absolutely amazing time last week at Melia Peninsula Varadero resort! It honestly exceeded our expectations, and that’s saying a lot as I’m quite picky. The food wasn’t great but that’s to be expected in Cuba. But everything else was absolutely amazing! Great service; clean and very well kept resort; large rooms; incredible beaches; no bugs; even with lots of guests, nothing ever felt overcrowded; family friendly but even as a couple, we had a lovely time. Highly recommend! Thank you for everything!

We stayed at this resort as a family of 4, two children aged 5 and 6. This place was really great for their age as the pool was shallow and the water slides were the perfect sizes. The food was okay at the buffet, the a la cartes were very good. Highly recommend the Japanese restaurant, the chefs were great with the kids and food was very flavorful. The beach bbq had a nice atmosphere as well! The beach was phenomenal, white sand, nice waves, but you have to go early to get a good spot. Over all I would recommend this place, rooms were okay but we didn’t spend too much time in there so for changing and sleeping, it was perfect!

My family With kids (6,4 and 11 months) really enjoyed our stay at This resort. The kids club always had great activities for the kids to do. There was a variety of shows for kids and adults. The entertainment staff at the beach and pools were very entertaining. The food was good always something for everyone. The a la cartes were really good. My only negative was the pool temperatures were really cold. The kids and adults could only play for a bit before our lips turned blue. But other than that it was a really great experience all the staff were kind, helpful and a pleasure to deal with.

The resort was beautiful and very big. The service was extremely poor. There was no greeting when we got there and when checking in the staff weren't to friendly. Our room had roaches in it so I had to request a different room. The second room we got the shower leaked thought the whole room. There was minimal entertainment and music in the resort. The disco was closed the whole time we were there. It took min. 15 min to get a drink at any bar and when you got a drink there was way too much alcohol in my cup to enjoy it. The food was good and the resort was clean. I feel that they need to have more staff on to cater to people. Beaches are beautiful. I'd think twice about going to this place.

This is second time in Cuba. I had great time in Melia Peninsula Varedero. Really nice staff, great food, resonable price and very clean . For sure we will be back. My ten years old son survived without device no problem. You must give a try you don’t regret .

Overall great resort! Food is good, but alacarts could have been better! Rooms are clean, shows are great! Friendly stuff! We didn’t have to leave the resort for anything! Will be back again next year!

Clean, good food, friendly and respectful staff. I enjoyed my stay here. Of and the massage guy...wonderful job! The location of the hotel is great. The tour guides were excellent and funny . Overall, it was a great experience.

This hotel is not a 5 star hotel as it claims to be. I was very disappointed from day 1. I have several issues with how the hotel and the grounds are kept up. 1. The area's around the pool and bar needs a new paint job. A lot of the old paint is peeling off and very dirty in some areas. 2. The bridge crossing the pool to get to the bar on the other side is not usable. The boards are lifted up and falling apart. The bridge is blocked off. 3. The fountains or ponds at the front of the hotel and behind the lobby are empty. The sides are dirty with algae and has rain water at the bottom. 4. There is 1 fountain at the front with some fish. The water is COMPLETELY GREEN with algae and smells fishy. 5. I was told I get 7 hrs of free WIFI. I was only able to connect once in 7 days. Not a big deal since I am on vacation and wasn't planning on using the internet. 6. My room wasn't that great. Shower doors didn't close properly. Water ended up on the floor. Lighting was very dim. Had to wait for bulbs to heat up. Closet had only 1 working bulb. Lighting outside of room didn't work. Air conditioner worked great. 7. Bathrooms!!! 2 public bathrooms (men's/women's) by the restaurants didn't have toilet paper, hand soap, and broken hand drier. When we complained we were given shampoo to wash our hands. Men's washroom in the lobby had no hand soap in the handicap stall but had a sink. 8. Beach was great and the water was warm and beautiful. Lots of chairs with someone helping us to get the chairs. 9. Food wasn't that bad. Lots of variety. There was a sign in the front lobby claiming the hotel was 5 stars. Far from it. More like 3 or 3.5. When I pay for a 5 star I expect the best.

This resort is certainly not a 4 star.While the beach and water were amazing, the service was non existent. The room was clean, but missing towels, the balcony door didn't have a latch to close/ lock, also we didn't have power in the outlets and it got fixed after several calls and a trip to reception. ( door was not fixed while we stayed) The food was the absolute same every day, not many options, and if you went to eat half hour after the buffet opened, the counters were almost empty. No one comes to the tables to offer water or coffee unless you ask for it. The only place we enjoyed in terms of food was the grill by the beach, and the young gentleman was doing a great job making it. The beach bar opens at 11am and its out of drinks by 12.30 They were cleaning the pools by the main buffet and there was a stench for days, from dead fish. The live entertainment in the lobby was one of the few things we really enjoyed. The one highlight of our trip here was a trip to Havana we booked privately and absolutely enjoyed.

Before we took our trip we heard a lot of horror stories about Cuba. Best experience is self experience! Beautiful and well maintained resort with amazing and friendly staff. Always helpful. Great room service. Family friendly environment. Food wasn't the best but also not the worst. Always something for everyone. We will definitely come back one day. Beautiful property- well maintained lawns and beaches. The food was quite good. Children's club quite good and the entertainment was great. Overall a good experience. A few negatives. The first night I checked in, my room had absolutely no hydro - a technician came by 3 times and still no hydro. I was moved the next day to a room located near where my family were staying. There was water on the floor and an effort was made to make sure it didn't happen again, but the toilet needed to be fixed not caulked. The hotel chain needs to properly train their technicians (or afford the right supplies so that the job can be done right). I know it's Cuba, but I have never had this experience even at a lesser rated hotel.

First timers in Cuba. My wife, my 11 months old and myself. This place is perfect for a family vacation. Food was good. Only downside is the bed. We got King size but mattress was all springy and uncomfortable.

Just returned home 4 days ago, we stayed at the Melia Peninsula Varadero, this was our 4th trip to Cuba. Love the beaches, love the weather and will return someday. We always took other peoples comments with a grain of salt when it came to food and accommodations because we never really had a problem... until now! nothing lasts forever!!! we had purchased an upgrade (Elegance Club it was called)and not only did we not receive our arrival gift, the only benefit to the upgrade as far as we were concerned was we got the room we wanted ( what a waist of money)that is until we noticed the toilet was leaking from the bottom all over the floor. That was our first evening there and because it was a late arrival we decided to wait until the morning to report the problem.long story short we were told the not only could it not fixed but they did not have any parts to fix it! They offered us another room, but it had a worse view ( most hotels try to match or better the room) of which I did not want and told them to make sure we had towels for the next 9 nights at the base of the toilet. First day there I ended up that evening with 24 hr. food poisoning of which I can not pin point why, this left my wife Leary for the remainder of the trip of eating any meat. The food for the first time was the same every day and not good at all and the selection was the worst we have ever had. For three days in a row we had no and I mean no running water for showers at the supper time hour, the longest lasting 45 mins. There were a lot of first time things that happened as well for us...unpleasant staff,being overlooked because we did not speak Spanish, no lettuce ,so called life guards trying to sell me excursions every day,Cubans walking the beach selling goods while the guards turned a blind eye,24 hour snack bar with out 24 hour food, snack bar with a terrible method of service leaving people frustrated at the wait for food, told I could only have one can of pop, I could go on but why. despite all that happened to us we still love the beaches and weather and we will go again just not to this hotel or any that is run by the Graviota group

Excellent resort! It was about a 30 min drive from the airport. After asking the room was prepared before the expected time which was helpful due to travelling with an extremely tired toddler. The rooms were kept very clean with daily towels and the fridges restocked. Our room was near the kids pool as requested; large size pool with 2 slides and a shallow and deeper end depth which was great for my 5 and 2.5 year old. The beach was very clean and beautiful! Always someone to offer help to your chair. We went on a free catamaran ride included with the resort: the employees were friendly and accommodating to offer a solution to a time that worked better for us. The beach restaurant had great service with a BBQ lunch some days. There were lots of food options at the buffet restaurant; preparing omelettes and pasta to your liking. The ice cream was delicious and the baked goods from bread to donuts :) It was a large resort; lots of walking. We walked about 7 km each day; it would have been helpful if the "car" offered rides continuously throughout the day to and from places like the lobby to the beach etc. Some employees were friendlier than others but to be expected in any place of work. Some of the washrooms didn't have hand soap, toilet paper or paper towels. Overall it was an positive experience.

Very clean grounds...staff are amazing (very friendly, always smiling, attends to your needs)...very nice and spacious rooms (cool a/c, clean towels, running hot/cold water)...rooms were made up well everyday...very nice assortment of restaurants (buffet/speciality)...pool and beach grounds were amazing and always clean...very safe resort...nice assortment of clubs and performers...wonderful beer and pinacolada...overall, a great first time experience

This hotel needs work Broken tiles Rotting bridge closed down Sliding door broken they did not fix for 2 weeks No bench to put suitcases you have to pick them up on bed every time you need something from them. I was to get 14 internet cards with elegance package I bought but after 7 cards they wrote down that I got 14 of them. On last day they held my passport hostage till I brought back our beach towels . They tried leaving my passport on front check out counter till I complained . Needs work on resort and customer service.
