Great resort
Grounds were beautiful, food was ok, Not always hot, room was clean, staff was very friendly. More entertainment at individual resorts would be nice.checking in and out was a breeze. Food buffets could have theme nights to change things up.

Great resort for our friends getaway
We can't complain about any aspect of the hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, the cleaning staff were wonderful. We traveled with a group of 14 we were always able to get lounge chairs together at the pool and beach. And at the meals we ate together no problem sitting together. Wait staff in the buffets were awsome as were the bar keepers. Loved the resort and can't wait to go back.

Great stay!
Beautiful grounds, excellent food, lots of activities. The kids and baby club staff were great. Unfortunately the kids club facilities were being redone during our start but the Reno looked amazing! The beach was very small and had seaweed— not much they can do about that but I was surprised by the size of the beach. Many restaurants were temporarily closed but the ones we tried were nice.

Resort Needs Work!
Room: The rooms need updating. The door lock didn’t work. We had to call service 4 times to have safe fixed. The power outlet came out of wall when unplugging hair dryer. The floor shower cap was not secured to floor. The toilet leaked water all over the floor. Cockroaches in room. Construction taking place next door for Bavaro resort so very noisy from morning to late afternoon. Shuttle: VERY hard to get shuttle from room. Basically had to walk all the time. Food: NO variety. Same food each day. Service: was okay but people not very friendly unless you spoke Spanish. Beach: was okay. They tried their best to clean seaweed. Last 2 days they closed off a portion of the beach so access was limited. Pools: were clean but very limited seating options. Entertainment: only 2 nights they had a show but they were in a very small space and very crowded. Lobby personnel: were rude and not helpful.

Lots to do in the evenings, sports bars, casino, dancing, entertainment great for teens! Limited to no entertainment during the day, just workers walking around the pools tryin to get you to boom a massage … annoying! Food was great buffet had lots to offer , Mexican was our least fav no flavor and underwhelming dinner, Japanese was awesome! We loved the beach bar food area great patio and food. Beach was OK a ton of weeds that could have been cleaned up more often at least a section. Booked a boat trip off the beach for a private trip with 30ppl it was a good time! Room had a terrible smell all week, musty and wet Elvira was in a good location so kept it, hardly in there! Party pool should be the pool closest to the beach, odd layout. 7/10 overall

Simply Amazing
We arrived in the evening of February 19, and we're greated smiles and lots of help with our luggage. Our check in went smooth with no problems on the language side. We were taken to our room which was not far from the front lobby, which made us a little uneasy as we thought it could a little noisy, but our fears were eliminated when we closed the door. We could hear no outside noise. Meals were excellent, from the buffet to the ala cartes. The beach was wonderful as usual, but just watch out for the vendors with the birds. They will take your phone from you and take pictures and then ask for money. The grounds were wonderfully clean as well as the beach. Definitely a resort to go back to. Ju

Not my favourite
I have been to at least ten resorts in Punta Cana. This was my least favourite. It was large and confusing to get your bearings. The beach was narrowing than other resort, a long walk from our room and it was hard to get chairs. The food was good. The white wine was awful. The mixed drinks were alcohol mixed with slush as opposed to a blender drink. Staff mostly couldn’t speak any English. I did not like the deep jetted tub. It would be very difficult for an older person to climb into, even with the box set beside it. Also wasn’t thrilled that the wall between the bathroom and bedroom was frosted glass. Two girls sharing room Could see sillouite through glass and made room bright with light through glass. Now what really upset us. We returned to our room one evening to find a roach on our wall. We had very high ceilings and the roach was about 15 feet up. We called the front desk, which took many tries, and they said someone would be right there. As they didn’t show up, we wanted to go to bed and the bug was now over one of our beds, we called again and we promised they would be right there. No one ever showed up. We finally threw shoes and face clothes at it, while standing on our bed. After numerous tries we managed to knock it down and kill it. We reported it to the front desk in person the next morning and got. Feeble sorry. One our last night, Shelley got very I’ll. She had chills, nausea, diarrhea, muscle twitching and a swollen tongue. She is 60 years old with a history of a heart attack and kidney issues. The girls walked to the main desk and asked for medical help. They were told somebody would we right there. In the interim we tried to cool her down and I contacted my nurse practitioner daughter who suggested we get medical assistance. We waited up for a couple of hours and no one ever showed up!!!!!!!!! This was unacceptable!!

Goods and bads about Grand Palladium
Great food, beautiful weather, friendly staff..these were the good things Phone didn’t work, every shower we had flooded the bathroom floor Too dark, lamp didn’t work, setup of room didn’t provide enough light to even get dressed. We had to open the drapes while passerbys could see right in. Maid didn’t show up a few days, no water and coffee until we got it ourselves. Our first room had such a musty foul smell we had to change rooms. Sister got food poisoning, tried to get a Doctor, no one ever showed up. Some rooms lacked air until it was rendered. All in all rooms were disappointing and front desk didn’t come through in many areas.

Very disappointing
The hotel was fine, except for a large bug in our room which no one came to help us with, even though we requested help. The beach was disappointing as it had quite a decline to get down to the beach. Also, my sister Shelley got very sick with either food poisoning or heatstroke. We called the air canada rep for help to get a doctor as it was 10:30 at night and she didn't answer. We went to the front desk and requested a doctor and even though he said someone would come, no one came the entire night. We were very afraid for her health. I will not return to that resort again. The food was okay.

Too many problems
I can live with a few issues which you can get anywhere you go. This time I got food poisoning the day before we left. I was travelling with my sisters and they called the front desk to ask for a doctor. No doctor ever came and no one even bothered to follow up, not even a phone call. I had to spend the day in airports extremely sick, laying down on the floor in the Punta Cana airport. The front desk was nonresponsive on any call, from getting bugs from the vaulted ceiling to needing bottles of water, which neither ever came.

Great Resort with everything you want to in a holiday (large)
Resort was very large , but had shuttles to get around . Lots of pool choices and restaurants . The buffet choices had a large selection of Foods , fruit , salads , deserts ect . Staff were friendly but found some were slow to serve you and catered to Spanish speaking . The shows were excellent especially CHIC . We found some parts of the resort a little old and outdated especially had issues with shower leaking over tub onto floor . Overall we were pleased with our holiday and stay . This resort was awesome. Grounds food and staff were all 5 star. A few minor issues in room made them maybe a 4 star. Pretty hard to beat Punta Cana beach. Transat experience could definitely be better but at least if didn’t affect us once on resort. Entertainment was fun and diverse. Use palladium hotel group app to its potential. Let us know where and when to be.

Terrible service, terrible rooms, don't waste your time and money
Unless you wave wads of cash around, don't expect any service from anyone. Also, never go here expecting a good room, or if you have a toddler or younger. Our room had a glass door leading to the bathroom, and another glass sliding door next to the bed, that led to the shower. That leaked water into the main area everytime someone showered, which meant that we had to put a towel on the floor next to the bed. The room's phone didn't work because its battery had leaked and destroyed the contacts. Rather than replace it, some random guy took the phone from the adjoining room and swapped it. From then on, any number we called thought that we were calling from that room, and we had to correct them every time. Also some lights didn't work, and the asking for cleaning, didn't mean that we got fresh towels, so we had to make another call just for that. Unlimited drinks is a joke, because the bartender will literally ignore you most of the time, or say that they don't make drink x or y, or just give a drink with nothing but ice in it. The app doesn't work to reserve restaurants (something even the staff told us) and you will need to find the one desk in the resort where they can help reserve for you. But then again, the restaurants don't provide good food or service, so you might as well just go to the buffets. General theme: Terrible service unless you pre-tip the right people or wave around a wad of USD to get someone's attention.

Could be better
When first arriving we were not greeted well. They did not offer any beverages including water after a long hot trip, as other resorts do. The baggage people did not take our bags from the bus and my family had to do it themselves. We also tried to book the al la cart after we checked in and they were completely booked. The rooms were okay except for the bathrooms. First, if you are sharing with anyone who is not your partner, there is no privacy. You can see the person in the shower as there is a slightly fogged glass facing the beds. Second, the shower leaked everywhere. There is no door and the shower has no depth so the water leaked all the way to the toilet. We had to use all our towels on the floor for the first shower and the resort was unwilling to bring new ones. If you are booking this hotel and you are not in the members travel club you are treated like a second class citizen. Be aware of this as they will roll the red carpet for them but will only provide the basics for everyone else, including a simple greeting.

Meh
This resort was SO BIG. The relaxing vacation feeling is lost when your balcony faces the employee shuttle bus parking lot, and when you have to step into the weeds to allow cars to pass on the shared walkway/road. Pools were a little dirty and there are constantly people trying to sell you things. There was a night in which there was no running water on the resort for hours and (brief) power outages. The sky light above the hotel stairs leaked water onto the stone stairs when it rained). There also wasn’t much daytime entertainment. Pros: there are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from and the food was good. The rooms were nice (although a weird shower design that gets water everywhere) and I liked that the mini fridge came stocked with different snacks/drinks. Large pools with different atmospheres (relaxing, kids area, party pool) and various night activities (theatre show, 24hr sports bar, disco, casino, adult pool open until midnight).

Beautiful resort, badly managed
We have been to Punta Cana for more than 10 times in various resorts and in Dominican Republic more that 15 times. Therefore, I think we can provide a good comparison between different resorts. SUMMARY The Grand Palladium Resort is a beautiful complex resort made of three resorts: Palace, Punta Cana and Bavaro. The grounds are beautiful, well-maintained and includes four swimming pools. You might think that we had a wonderful time there, which unfortunately is not the case. The resort is poorly managed and the water and sanitation infrastructure (plumbing) is crumbling. Our main complain is not that we stayed there for 10 days with NO HOT WATER (between 4 – 10 pm), our main disappointment is that in spite our daily complains, the management did nothing to fix the problem. More than that, one day when we informed the reception again that we don’t have hot water, a reception supervisor told us to stop complaining as everybody else is the same. So, definitely we will not go back to this resort again. There are many better resorts in Punta Cana – same price. You judge for yourself and make your own decision. Here are some details: FOOD: The resort has two main buffet restaurants and many a-la-carte restaurants. The food in the buffet restaurants is diverse, plenty and tasty. Definitely above average for Punta Cana resorts. Congratulations to the Chef. The “A-la-carte restaurants†is a different story. First of all they don’t have a menu (a-la-carte) – a printed menu – to give you. They expect the guests to download Grand Palladium app and use it to order (they expect you to work for them); how about if you want to relax and didn’t bring you phone with you, or if your phone is not working… Most of the food in the a-la-carte restaurants are from the buffet restaurant (appetizers, soup,…different presentation) which is ok as it is tasty; however the food they have to cook on the spot is disappointing ( a beef stake is few mm thick, yes MM, and hard and chewy; an Italian calzone we ordered was pre-cooked hours before we ordered (the cheese inside was no longer melted and the crust was mushy and soft), not to mention the Asian restaurant… I would say the a-la-carte restaurants in Grand Palladium are below average for Punta Cana. Disappointing. ROOMS: Our room was decent, clean (the cleaning lady did a very good job every day), too bad we didn’t have hot water. However, some people we met on the resort told us they had to change three rooms until they found a decent one. GROUNDS: Grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Congrats to the people that do all the work… Too bad we couldn’t get a map of the resort (they don’t have it at the reception – actually they have but they are too cheap to give a map to their guests) so we got lost few times and until we learned the resort (through experience) it was time to go home. BEACH & POOLS: This is Punta Cana and the beach is beautiful. Grand Palladium has a long ocean beach however only 1/3 of it is a nice wide sandy beach. 2/3 of the resort beach was damaged by storms, hurricanes… This is the reason the sandy beach is crowded; people have to get up early in the morning to reserve a hut and some chairs…I would say this is common to many resorts in Punta Cana. There are four swimming pools and they look beautiful. We are not pool people so we cannot comment more. ENTERTAINMENT and BEACH ACTIVITIES: Everywhere we have been in Punta Cana, the Entertainment (Night) Shows and Beach Activities were a main component of the life on the resort. They were advertised everywhere. NOT IN THIS RESORT. We saw no signs related to the night shows and beach activities and the receptionist was not able to give us an answer. For three days we thought there is no theater on the resort. On the fourth day we bumped into some artists who told us where the theater is (there are printed maps of the resort on some places in the resort however they are outdated and no mention of the theater there, the names of the a-la carte restaurants on the maps are different than the current names of the restaurants – you figure out… a total disinformation). Later, we have seen some night shows and they were beautiful, professional, the artists put a lot of passion and work in order to create shows that people enjoy. Congratulations to the artists. CONCLUSION: This is a beautiful resort, badly managed, with disrespectful attitude towards their patrons and guests.

Hotel was good but Air Canada rep never showed for meeting. No books on pick up time for return trip due to Covid. QR codes need to be created to inform travellers of pick up times. It should also note when the rep will be at the hotel during our stay.

Very good but a few snags
The Transat rep on the shuttle transfer from the airport to the resort wasn't very helpful. Told us that we were all to meet the Transat rep at 9m the following morning. He didn't say where, who to look for, nothing. We waited all the next morning and continued checking the lobby throughout the day . We waited for hours and continued checking the lobby throughout the dayno one knew who this person was, where they were supposed to be, etc. We were taken here, there and everywhere to finally meet the rep who was sitting at his desk all day every day in the lobby. H, asking the employees. No one knew anything. How can no one at the reception desk or guest service desk know who the reps are for the various travel companies? Very frustrating time waster. Stay away from Travel Club reps. They prey on you as soon as you enter the lobby, offer all their help, waste your time, and hound you until you agree to their "breakfast". Don't agree to breakfast. Put your foot down and move on to the check-in desk yourself. Don't fall for their orchestrated dance of wasting your time. Plus, do your research. The Travel Club is a scam and worst deal you will ever make. Book your own vacations whereever you want whenever you want - the Travel Club gives nothing much else except a lot of lifetime expense and headache. Overall, the resort is pretty good, but it is getting dated. Our safe worked less than it worked. It took 4 days to get a hairdryer, much less a working hairdryer. Sand fleas in the bathroom sink and around our toothbrushes and glasses every morning. Toilet flusher kept running and running a few times yet maid service never thought to report the issue. Mattress and pillows were not very comfortable. Food was good, lots of variety. Service at morning buffet could be improved. Took a long time to get some water, if at all, table not always set fully. Poolside, restaurant and theatre service was very good. Nightly entertainment at the theatre was very good, but acoustics not the best, which is really a shame. Still worth the watch. Even with some of the snags (not all of them mentioned), our stay was very nice and relaxing, and we would recommend the resort though may suggest that people look at others that don't deal with the Travel Club stuff. This was extremely annoying!

Exceeds expectations
Though rated at four and a half stars on some websites, I fail to find what this resort could do to improve anything to reach five stars. As in most reviews, the Dominican staff is friendly, outgoing, and extremely professional and attentive. Due to the conglomeration of four hotels into one complex, there’s a huge choice of pools, restaurants, and activities for every member of the family, and the combined resort has the longest stretch of beach in Punta Cana. We tried different a la Carte restaurants every night and we’re never dissatisfied, in particular, the Indian restaurant and the Mexican were excellent. I’d highly recommend this resort for anyone looking for a great family vacation in the sun.

It is a nice resort
The resort grounds are very clean and well kept. The employee of the resort are very nice and helpful, specially Bianca in Customer Service. The food and choice of Veg/Meat was good in the buffets, and most of the restaurants. The Indian, the Japanese, the Argentinian, and Italian restaurants were good. The Chines Restaurant was ok. I would avoid the Mexican Restaurant- The food tasted old , the flank steak tasted and felt like boiled old beef jerky. The mole chicken was the worst I have ever had - It was dried up chicken legs, hard to cut or chew, with a bit of chocolate brushed on top, instead of cooked & simmered in the mole sauce - Absolutely tasteless - There was nine of us, with different food orders, and we all wanted to leave after the first bite . The beach is constantly being cleaned for agile, and is not a clear water beach (like Cuba ) - Lots of waves, not good for snorkeling, not too many people in the water, but always can find shade and seats to relax .Good drinks served as well. Good choice of swimming pools and entertainment at the pool available. PS . Our Air Transat Rep never showed up for the pre arranged meeting (we waited one extra hour and still no show ) ,or the next few days per Transat book next day meeting times, to sell us excursions or tell us about our trip back pick up time . Had to call local Transat office few times, and finally got hold of Anne which was helpful.

Another Great Vacation
April 2019 We just returned from the Grand Palladium Punta Cana and had a great vacation. We have been to this resort several times and each time we return it is amazing the changes and most for the better. They are constantly updating this resort. The lobby of the Punta Cana was totally redone with new furniture, the room was renovated, new restaurants, wifi on the beach and many new cabanas on the beach. This is the first time that we didn't have any trouble finding a cabana and chairs on the beach or at the pool. If there was one thing that I would say was negative was the reservation system for the Japanese restaurant, they only took reservations a day in advance and they started at 7:00am you could go there at 7:10am and it would be full, they give the reservations to the Travel Club. All of the other restaurants no problem getting in. On the topic of the Travel Club, I observed these representatives in the lobby several times and they hit upon the guests as soon as they get off the bus to check in. Most of these people have no idea what they are talking about they are all excited about starting their vacation and these people hit them up and hit them up hard and don't want to take no for an answer. The staff at this resort are very friendly and work hard. The food is very good, alot of selection and variety, something for everyone.

The grounds were spotless, the buildings were spotless. They kept everything nice and tidy. Service was super. All in all, a good place for a vacation. The staff was very friendly and quick to resolve any problems that you encountered in your room.

So much variety
I just got back last week from staying and the Grand Palladium Punta Cana for a week stay. My mom (61) and myself (33). Pros: you can go to all three resorts so you have a lot of variety with pools etc. We didn't love our pools as they had more kids, so within 5 minutes (not even) we walked to a different pool. The entertainment was great, which included live shows with so much effort, bubble parties in the pool, night show on the beach, and so much more. The food was good and there was a lot of variety. We were always able to find something with liked. We also went to other resorts to eat to switch things up. That was nice option! While on the beach we never had major problems with people selling us things. We just didnt look at them and for the most part that was fine! The seaweed is worse than some days but did NOT get in the way of us enjoying the beach. The water was warm in the ocean and so clean. You could walk for miles. Cons: The entertainment didn't start until 10:00 but I'm a lightweight and like to be in bed a bit earlier. The shower, although beautiful, was not the most practical. Hard to get into and had transparent doors to the bedroom/ living area. Those two things were no big deal at all however. My suggestions: If you are with kids stay at the Punta Cana because the pool there is the best for them! I would not suggest the Bavaro. It looked a bit run down. Otherwise if you are with adults the next best thing to the TRS is the Palace. The loby has the best atmosphere during the night to socially hang out in, it has a really nice pool, and is also close to the only adults only pool in the property called "the secret pool." This pool is beautiful!!! Next time I would like to stay at the TRS is if it only a matter of a bit of extra money. That is truely a 5 star resport. We snuck in (well walked in...) and spent a lot of time there. Everything is classy and just one step further in luxury. You are treated like royalty there and have special privalages. My mom said it was to uppity up for her, but I quite enjoyed it! Overall, what a beautiful trip! Thank you for the great memories.

Nice Resort
This resort is very large. Took a few hours to get checked in, we were the last ones waiting in the lobby. The loft room is very big and spacious. Great if you have kids with you. Room was very clean and well kept. The shower is see through on the room side and taps take a bit to figure out. Room service was great! All the restaurants were excellent. All the grounds are well taken care of. The trolleys are a great way to get around. The beach is beautiful however the locals trying to sell things are very persistent and constant. Can be rather annoying when you are trying to relax. A few people in our group had staff entering into their rooms unannounced and at odd times. The wifi worked great throughout the resort once you get on it. The night entertainment was ok. I would likely go back to this resort. The big main pool was under construction the whole time so there was a lot of crowding at the other pool.

Very good resort, even better staff...
We had a wonderful time at the Grand Palladium Punta Cana. Even with construction, the grounds were well kept. The buffet selection was incredible for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The japanese restaurant was entertaining, delicious and a lot of fun. Even with the seaweed issues, we found the beach to be in good condition and the resort seemed to trying it's best to clear the seaweed. One of the features we enjoyed immensely was the sports field. we used it almost every day. To me, the hotel's best feature is it's workers. From the groundkeepers to the front desk staff, with a special mention to Rommi and the lobby bartenders. the bartenders were amazing with their drinks and also their fun factor. They are a real credit to the resort.

Everything and more
I have been to multiple all inclusive resorts and this has to be one of my favourites. From the moment you enter one out of the 3 lobbies, you are welcomed with an amazing view, well kept and friendfly staff. I came with a wedding party, and all of our rooms were equally clean and fully equipped. My only critque is to have more shuttle running every 5 mins because the resort is so vast that walking to the 24 sports bar restaurant could be a bit much once the resturants are closed for prep. Many actitives, clean, fun pools, delicious food and easy access to excursions. I would love to come back and possibility try out one of their upscales room that have a hot tub/pool just steps out the back doors.

Disappointed
Check-in and check-out was long and inefficient. Staff were not friendly and they were unorganized. We did not arrive at a busy time and there was 7 of us checking in. Room was the best part of our trip, the renovated loft suite was perfect for our family of 3. Main buffet was not good. A lot of deep fried food and the hours did not work for our family. It opens at 7 am, 12:30 pm - 3 pm and 7 pm for dinner, if anyone has young children I am sure you can sympathize that these hours are not helpful for eating times. Some days they would not open at all and we found out it was because of an international military conference - which I should mention that staff could have warned guests about. Having a military helicopters land on the resort grounds and seeing military members step out in uniform, and not knowing why was very scary. We ate all our meals at the Palace or the Bravaro. Room service was slow and they made many mistakes with our orders. Pools - good for the morning, very dirty by the afternoon. Beach - no complaints. Kids Club - our kids walked in and walked back out, the staff were loud and aggressive. One actually scared my son who is very used to a daycare setting. All to say, we would go back if we had to but would stay at the Bravero side. It seemed much cleaner, friendlier staff and better food!

Great weather, fabulous pools
Biggest problem right from the start is staff spoke little to no English. my guess is over 95% of resort folks couldn't understand any English at all. room was great for young lovers but for two senior sisters, it posed problems. bed was king size (though I booked 2 queen). you had to use a step stool to enter tub. bed sheets were not changed often enough, face cloths only available on 1 day. for a 4.5 star that just isn't acceptable. the good = tons of pools, great location, weather and company I went with were a 10+

Can't say enough about this resort. It was absolutely fantastic. It truly is a tropical paradise. The staff went out of their way to make our vacation the very best. There is nothing negative I could say about this resort. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return sometime.

Would not return:
This resort has amazing staff. The staff are friendly and work very hard to attend to your needs. The grounds and pools are very clean .The bar service and entertainment at the pools are also very good. The buffet is very small and has few vegetarian choices. The wait time for the al a carte restaurants are very long ( 1 - 1 1/2 hours). Our room was only cleaned 4 days during our stay . We called housekeeping but this did not help . This created a shortage of towels for us. The shower is in a soaker tub with a small section of glass for the wall and the water sprays out all over the bathroom floor . On the other shower wall is frosted glass and if the shower points this way the bedroom floor is covered in water You need to use the towels to clean up the water . When housekeeping did not clean our rooms we were short of towels.

Good Resort lots of variety
All in all a very nice resort with very friendly and helpful staff. The buffets and a la carte restaurants are very good with lots of selection. The rooms, pools and beaches are all clean and well maintained. The only negative is the constant solicitation from vendors and sales people for souvenirs, photos, excursions, cigars, presentations, etc. Some won't take NO for an answer. However vacation was enjoyable and would consider going back here again

The rooms were nice, there were a couple times fridges weren't stocked and trying to get refills was almost impossible. Pools were warm, food was great but the menu didn't really change. The steakhouse was really great! Our experience at the Mexican restaurant was less favourable and I would not go back. Lots of entertainment throughout the day with water games, towel folding, bull riding, sports, yoga etc. We had an amazing server who saved seats for us every single morning and remembered our orders - we came with a large group of 20 and remembered most of our names and most of our preferred drinks!

Graduvation 2017
This is our 11th trip to this Resort, so obviously we like it. We have celebrated milestone birthday's and anniversary's at this resort but this year was extra special as we brought our 3 adult children plus two girlfriends all of whom who were graduating from University, so it was a big celebration. We also wanted to share with our kids the place that we have loved to visit. The resort lived up to our expectation and we had a wonderful time. If there was one thing that bothers me about the Grand Pallidium is the lack of consistency. After going to the same resort for 11 years you would think at some point they would have a record of your stay. They don't, after 10 years you get a grey braclet (not sure what the benefits are if any) but anyway I brought our bracelets from the previous year, well this totally through them off, they didn't know what to do. The manager came over and said to us look in my eyes and he said no don't recognize you and doubted us. He said wait in the lobby until he checked something out, it was an hour waiting to get checked in, why I don't know. The other inconsistency is making reservations for restaurants, 4 people, 4 different days and 4 different answers mostly no can't help you. Funny the 4th person made reservation for 3 restaurants no questions asked. This year not sure what the confusion was with reservation, the week before we were to leave we were contacted by Trip Central to stay the rooms that we were staying in at the Punta Cana part of the resort were going to be affected with the renovation and we were moving to the Palace resort, we said not a problem. I did recheck with Trip Central to see where we should check in at and she said check into the Palace lobby. When we arrived no one at the Palace knew what we were talking about and there was no reservation. We went to the Punta Cana lobby and they had our names, even when I showed the email from Trip Central they had no idea.

Amazing resort
This was our 13th trip to Grand Palladium in Punta Cana. Disappointing arrival experience. We were at resort at 10:15am. Totally prepared for our room not to be ready - always have beach necessities in carry on. We were told we would receive our bracelet at noon. If we wanted it sooner it would be $10/hour until noon. Our only option was to SIT IN LOBBY as we couldn't go to beach or get food without bracelet. After spending thousands of dollars on our vacation we were very upset. After much discussion & asking for manager we were given bracelet. We specifically asked at booking time NOT TO BE IN JUNIOR SUITE because of stairs to sleeping area with bathroom on lower level. Yep, Junior suite it was. We were so tired & had no fight left in us we didn't even raise the issue.

Lovely resort, great staff
Our first experience with the Palladium resort chain last year in Mexico was very positive and based on that first experience we chose the Palladium in the Dominion Republic and were not disappointed. The grounds are lovely, beach great, rooms generous in size and clean. Staff were wonderful. Our overall eating experience was 4 star in terms of the variety of food, preparation and presentation. The overall atmosphere of the facility was relaxed. My one slightly negative comment is that as a family of 9, aged 17-76 who travel once a year to reconnect and enjoy each other's company and have dinner every night together.at a time of our choice isn't possible.. I would like to see groups of this size at least be given some leeway with regard to the timing for meals. We had no choice but to eat each evening at 6 pm. We didn't mind that a couple of nights but we would have preferred to eat later a few nights as well. This was not possible. That said, we did not let that temper our vacation.

Awesome resort
Everything was great at this resort..beautiful beaches and the grounds are well maintained. There are plenty of restaurants and the buffets ...well there is everything ...including fruit loops . No one can say they can't find something to eat. They have assorted dishes and meats, fruit, breads.ect.. The staff at the resort are the most friendly that I've ever met at a resort. They sing and dance almost always which gives you this welcome happy feeling. Rooms are spacious, cleaned daily. Cement around pools and walkways are cleaned daily with bleach and water. There are 3 large pools, one has a pirates ship, slides for the kids, they also have a huge castle which is a daycare centre. There is also a casino, meringue hall Different shows nightly and another hall that has a Micheal Jackson performance. I definitely would go back to this resort. This resort is super clean and friendly.

Great Beach
We stayed in recently renovated rooms , which were quite nice, had to pay $50 per night for the upgrade which was worth it for a family of four. Grounds were well kept, beach was awesome. Service at the bars were great, however you had to ask for the top shelf drinks such as vodka and rums, but they did have it. Biggest downfall was eating at the a la carte restaurants. You couldn't make reservations without showing up at 5:30...even then at the most popular restaurants you might wait in line for 45 minutes to make a reservation and then they would inform you that it was full for the night. If you were a member of Palladium travel clubs or if you were in the Adults only section of the resort you could make a reservation. The result of this policy, with kids, we ended up going to the buffet 3 of the six nights...which was ....buffet. I didn't pay this kind of money to eat at buffet restaurants for dinner and for that reason, I wouldn't recommend this resort.

Great vacation
My fiance and myself just returned from the Grand Palladium Punta Cana Oct 10 and we had a great time. Got there and was upgraded to the Love Suite, what a room, it had a jacuzzi and upstairs loft with a king size bed. The maid did a great job as well. This being my first time to the Palladium chain and her 4th and we weren't dissappointed, The food was great and the service was pretty good. The beaches and grounds were beautiful. The weather was nice and hot even when Hurricane Matthew missed the DR to the west. The 24hr sports bar was great with good service but the food was a bit on the cold side. Went to 3 A La Cartes with no issues at all. The Japanese and steakhouse food and service was very good. We decided to go to CoCo Bongos, that was a great decision on our behalf. The shows, crowd and atomsphere was so full of energy. Had a great time there. I would recomment this place to anyone. We will be back for sure

Small Things Add Up
AIRPORT We traveled in late August this year. This was our 1st time going to a resort in Punta Cana. All travel arrangements to and from the airport were great (just hold on to your bags as porters will try to grab them out of your hands for a walk less than 200 feet). RECEPTION When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted with a tropical drink and a cold towel (lobby is not enclosed). We had, during the booking process, requested adjoining rooms. When we arrived, the rooms were nowhere near each other. They eventually got us closer, but reception made it seem like it was a hassle. ROOMS We booked a junior suite and a deluxe room as we were told that you could get adjoining rooms, but not the same type. The junior suite was exactly what you see on the website. Large, beautiful view of ocean and beach, all amenities. We were very pleased (even though we had to wait until after 8:30pm to get in). While waiting, we went to the deluxe room. It was NOWERE near what is depicted on the website. It was a standard room, closer to the pool and beach. Don't be mislead by the website! The next day, we requested the room beside or across from the junior suite. We were told the were sold out during our stay. We were deliberately misinformed. These rooms were vacant during our entire stay. Staff simply didn't want to accommodate the change even though we were willing to pay for a upgrade. We made the best of it despite the minor inconvenience and reception staff attitude. VENDORS EVERYWHERE Do not expect to relax on the beach, by the pool, getting towels, walking to restaurants or walking around the resort. You are constantly bothered by vendors!!!!! There is no escape. Vendors selling excursions, straw hats, cigars, spa treatments, etc. The worst is the location of towel service. In order to get your beach towels, you had to go to an excursion desk where they would often not give you your towels until you listened to their pitch. Every single time. A real pain!! FOOD OK, food is subjective so take this as you see fit: Our best a la carte meal was at the Mexican restaurant and it was good at best. The other a la carts we attended (Italian, Steakhouse, Japanese) were very disappointing. The first come, first served method is also a pain. We arrived at the Italian restaurant around 7pm and were advised of a 1.5hr wait time. The adjacent restaurant was the Steakhouse, so we went there instead (no wait). 1st resort where you couldn't make reservations. This too was a big pain. The buffets were ok. The food selections never changed (for breakfast, lunch or dinner). We tended to eat the same thing day after day. Again, one persons meat is another persons poison. Take what you want from this. CUSTOMER SERVICE I have already noted how we were treated by reception regarding the room, so I will move pass that. In general, staff were pleasant. Some staff would look you in the eye and walk right past when you were requesting anything. Others went out of their way to offer you an enjoyable experience. It took 3 calls and one face to face to get the bar fridges restocked. even then, it was no where near daily (every 2-3 days). Small pain, but we paid for the service, it should be received. BEACH The beach itself is gorgeous! A lot of lounges available, shade if you want it, bars on the beach. The turquoise waters were amazing. Beach was well maintained. POOLS The pools were very clean, tons of lounges (again with or without shade), nice atmosphere. water was cool too, so it felt very refreshing when you jumped in!

A striving 5 star resort - Flaws trumps 5 star proclamation.
We traveled as group 18 (12 adults, 6 children ages 6-9) - July 30 to August 6, 2016. Booked 6 rooms since March 2016. I've been to 5 stars resorts every year for the last 13 years. Not to bore you with details, our overall review is: **This resort might look awesome in website pictures, with the 8 restaurant, huge facility, abundance of pools, nice looking rooms, BUT IN REALITY: 1 - Restaurants ARE a daily hassle. You need to line up since no reservations is allowed. And the food are just fresh looking as the buffet. 2 - The Tram service to take you around is so minimal. It seems that there's only 2 train going around since the wait can be as long as 30 mins. 3- Pool are so hazy that your eyes will burn due to lack of chlorine. Its more evident if you look at the pool at night and you can not even see the bottom of the pool. 4 - Its nice to have a Jacuzzi, only if the jets are not so dirty looking. Our shower head was broken and so as the nozzle for the water to come up to the shower head. We gave up complaining about it that we have to place a YUCKY garbage can to the nozzle to shower decently. Our "clean" folded towel had black stains and questionably clean. 5- Vendors selling Jewelry and excursion on every turn. Everyday, you will have hassled. EVERYDAY!! Most disappointing of all is the service and lack of friendliness by the staff and cook. It wouldn't hurt to smile back when greeted. I truly find the cleaning ladies to be snobs. The pasta cook in one of the buffet looks like he doesn't care at all. And I have to line to him 3 times. Customer service is obviously is not a priority to this resort. With these flaws, this resort is a 3 star at its best. Will not recommend to anyone. Food will be the same all else, but its the service that counts. Room Tip: Aging resort. Rooms are terrible. Service is awful. NOBODY cares about any problem. https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g147293-d292158-r402893494-Grand_Palladium_Punta_Cana_Resort_Spa-Punta_Cana_La_Altagracia_Province_Dominican.html#

Very disappointed
this hotel seems to cater to a certain group and there are different rules for different complexes, depending on where you're staying. we did not receive the room we requested, we were 3 in our group and housekeeping kept leaving us only 2 towels each day, beach towels were not readily available and we had to wait 3 days to get fresh towels. There is a bar in the room that gets replenished, but they don't give you a bottle opener to open and enjoy. When we asked for one, it took almost 4 days to get one brought to our room. The buffets do not change at all, they are the same every day. There are many restaurants on site, and you're told that you don't need a reservation, but when you get to the restaurant for dinner, they tell you that you can't be seated until the Royal Suites group has had dinner cause they have reservations. This was the same at all the restaurants on site except the sports bar that only offered hamburgers and fries (YUK). The representatives ONLY SPOKE SPANISH so it was very hard to communicate with the staff. There was no entertainment by the pool as you would expect, and when there was, it was only related to in Spanish, so you had no idea what was going on. Asked for change at the registration desk to break $100 bill and came back home to find out by bank it was counterfeit.Paid almost $300.00 to our party of 3 to take a day tour of the capital and our tour guide spoke very little english, so we didn't get the information translated as to what he was saying. So poorly organised and the tour took over 13 hours to complete, way too long of a day!. We are so disappointed with this vacation that we will never recommend this place to any family or friends. we expected so much and got so little.

Disappointing Hotel
When we booked this hotel, we were sold that it was going to be great and a lot of fun, however upon arrival, it was disaster after disaster. The hotel itself was much bigger than we expected as the restaurants are not all on the same resort, they span over the multiple Grand Palladium resorts that are connected and you have to try and find them and walk far to get to them, and the map they provide SUCKS! We were even advised by our Sunwing Rep that the map sucks so don't even bother using it! When we arrived it took them forever to check us in, we were exhausted and hot and wanted to get to our room. Prior to coming we had requested to get a cot in our room, and when we arrived there was no cot so we requested one from the front desk. We had to call 5 times before someone came at 10pm that night. We were also only given 2 towels in the bathroom when we were in fact 4 guests, and surprise surprise, we had to call 5 times to get towels! There were also no beach towels left by 2pm when we arrived, which is not acceptable when this isn't peak season and the resort isn't booked out. The room was good enough, however the pillows smelt like sweat, they were gross. The pool was always filthy, with hair balls, cigarette buts and garbage, it was not properly maintained. Service received from the staff was abysmal. When we went for breakfast or dinner at the buffet, we would usually get there shortly after it opened and we'd have to steal cutlery from other tables or coffee mugs because no one would come around to give us any of it. When you book your excursions through the Dive Shop, you need to make sure they are not going to their buddy down the beach to book it because that happened to us and we tried to get our money back and it took a while to finally get it back. They let a lot of hagglers on the resort so you get stopped every 5 minutes being asked to buy something or buy a tour which was really annoying, we’d avoid going certain ways or places because we knew there would be people to harass us. The food was good, no complaints about the food and the bar service by the pool area was awesome, always someone walking around and bringing us drinks. All in all I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, it was definitely not a 4 Star, more like a 2 ½ star. Very disappointing.

Great beach, okay food/service
We travelled to the Palladium Punta Cana the week of May17. Overall it was a good experience- the buffets were typical mass produced buffet breakfasts but we really enjoyed the fresh shakes and the crepe/waffle/pancake station. We never used the omelette station because we don't eat meat and there wasn't really a veggie pan and meat pan but those who did seemed to really enjoy it. There were also lots of meat options like sausage in all forms. We found that lines for the a la cartel stations near the Punta Cana side were much longer than the Bavaro side. We tried the Japanese and Brazilian and all the buffets- all were okay- you can always find something you like. We LOVED the Tapas and Mexican on the Bavaro side. We also showed up around 7 and could get seated right away on the three nights we went. We noticed long line when we were leaving though. There are so many bars throughout we didn't get a chance to visit them all but they all looked really great. We recommend taking the train around the resort on the first day- it will show you all the resort has to offer. Our biggest complaint was that no one introduces you to anything about the resort. You are given a map, taken to your room and you just have to figure the rest out for yourself. For example there is a huge sports area where you can rent bikes, play tennis or soccer/football, or even archery! Also, we really didn't enjoy the nightly entertainment. Overall we didn't get worked up about the little things, we locked up our stuff (twice saw ppl writing reports about their rooms being broken in to), and tried to soak up the sun as much as possible.

Ok Resort
The resort is very big, grounds are beautiful. The reservation process for restaurants is done very differently at this resort(not convenient). The food was very good, drinks are good however certain kinds of drinks served at particular bars :(. The pool could of been cleaner. The service during Buffett meals was poor.(looking for utensils, dishes and asking for water two or three times.) This was my third trip to Punta Cana and ninth all inclusive. This Resort is just ok,I would probably never stay at a Pallidium again.

Beautiful beach
The renovated room that we stayed in May of been partly renovated. The shower was awful. I am pretty sure there was mold or mildew on the tiles of the shower. because of all the black splotches. The line ups at the a la carte restaurants were beyond ridiculous. No reservations accepted at most, so a one to two hour wait was typical. The staff were not that friendly for the most part. There were exceptions. Staff at punta Cana pool and at Italian restaurant were terrific. Even though the hotel is rated 4.5-5, we've had better service overall at some 3.5 stars in dr and Mexico. Would I recommend it ? Depends on what is important to the individual

Average resort
Service is awful, my TV did not work properly for ~4 days, a phone did not work at all for almost 29 hours. I asked more that 8 times practically everybody at the reception to fix it. Nothing was done. It looks like nobody is interested at helping us, customers. We already paid for the vacation and that's it. Food was below average. Tables, dishes, forks, spoons were often dirty...

Beautiful Resort Poor Service
Resort and emenities are beautiful. Long wait times for dinner. Unable to get seated in tapanyaki? Good service seemed to depend on what colour of bracelet you are wearing. Bar staff were excellent. Very pushy to sign you up for their presentation on signing up with Palladium Hotels vacations. Overall very disappointed on the restaurant service.

Great trip
Had a wonderful stay at Grand Palladium. We had booked in the Punta Cana Section but were assigned a lovely room in the Bavaro section. This is a really large resort and other than taking a shuttle to some of the a la carte restaurants we basically stayed in the bavaro area. Buffet was good. Pool was lovely. Hemingway bar was delightful for a nightcap. Service was great. Grounds were beautiful and well manicured. Powder sand beach. Any concerns were immediately addressed. If anything I would say that evening entertainment could be better advertised.

Amazing Staff
The grounds, public areas, dining facilities are amazing. The grounds are kept in such great condition, nothing out of place and the entire facility is spotless. We did not encounter any unwanted little creatures, dust bunnies, cob webs anywhere - truly a joy!!!We had an problem initially with the room first assigned to us but it was resolved quickly by the hotel manager and his staff. He was always there to oversee all details of the resort and we are extremely grateful. The staff in all areas of the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful, the food is amazing - great variety and abundance. Many rooms have already been up-dated, so when this is completed it will certainly be above all expectations. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Loved the resort
Resort is large but there is transportation to get around. Sports facility is large and always available. Staff are friendly but English is very limited. Rooms are fine sometimes musty. Pools are clean, beach is soft clean sand. Beach is deep after 40 feet, and waves can take you off your feet. Food is good, half the time not hot enough at the buffet. Restaurants are fun and tasty. All round, a good resort for couples or families.

Great Resort!!
Beautiful resort!! The food was good, everyone was friendly!! We had no issues at all. Lots to choose from on the buffets. We went to the steak house (which was great) and the Italian a la carts (good also). No problem finding something to eat. Our room (3000 bldg) was central to the beach, lobby, buffet, pool and those two a la carts. It is a big resort and for some activities there is some walking involved. The beach was fantastic and we were sorry to leave. We didn't spend a lot of time at the pool but it was great as well. Our room overlooked the pool and we also had a view of the beach. We had a great time!!!

Grand Palladium Punta Cana
This was our fifth stay at The Palladium in Dominican Republic. As returning customers, we've usually enjoyed room upgrades, but not so this time. Managers promised to meet with us but never delivered on that promise, opting to let desk clerks handle our concerns. Our closest pool was out of service for half of the week. Plumbing and electricity was interrupted for more than a day. We're used to being approached to purchase various services, but this year the frequency was significantly higher. People selling spa services were particularly annoying. The on site transportation service was heavily weighted toward people willing to listen to Palladium Travel Club pitches (which we did a few years ago, but we're not interested). My wife did finally make contact with a Manager while we were waiting for our taxi to the airport, and was assured that we would see better service on our next visit (should we choose this resort again). We've usually enjoyed our Palladium vacations, but this year was a step backward.

Beautiful Resort for a Destination Wedding!
We traveled with 30 people for our destination wedding. We traveled with Sunwing and felt the extra perks were well worth it. We enjoyed the inclusive use of all 3 hotels but when we come back in a few years for a return trip we will definitely stay at the Royal Suits Hotel. On a budget with 30 guests the Palladium was able to offer us excellent rates in comparison to the more posh Bravaro and Royal Suits Hotels. Overall the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa was very large and sometimes confusing but it was fun to get lost and discover a new part of the resort. The Palladium rooms were clean, modern and spacious. Some of our guests complained that the water pressure was inadequate to fill their in-room Jacuzzi tubes. As the Bride and Groom we had no issues with our room and took full advantage of the included room service. Our maids did a beautiful job making up our rooms with daily flowers, towels, and fresh bubbles/ oils for our bath. We loved the in room (included) mini bar. The staff guaranteed refills every two days ( sprite, beer, coke, fanta). Our 2L bottled water was filled daily without fail. The food was excellent, all the buffets had a great variety and quality of food. We loved the a la cartes we ate at, but we found it very difficult to get a seat at the most popular restaurants, as the resort does not take reservations. It was first come, first serve, so you had to line up an hour pre-meal. However we did enjoy having unlimited access to all the a la carts on all 3 hotels. Alcoholic beverages were flowing and not watered down, the house wine was available during lunch and dinner, and the sports bar offered 24hr drinks and snacks. We went on a private catamaran with our 30 guests that our Sunwing rep set it all up. Loved it! The Resort had tons of excursions you could choose from which were at an extra cost but well worth it. The beach was gorgeous, white sand, well groomed and private. The salt water pools were beautiful. I think we saw about 5 different pools, 2 for sure with swim up bars and Jacuzzi bubbles. Our guests enjoyed the pool side bingo, aqua fitness and foam party. Many of our guests spend every night watching the nightly entertainment. They couldn't get enough, every night was different and included two different shows back to back. Unlimited Wi fi was available 24hrs in all rooms and buildings but some of our guests had difficulty at times to access it. Our Rogers customers seemed to have the best reception. Our Wedding day was better then we could ever imagine. From the flowers, to the cake, the ceremony, the food and the reception, everything was perfect. We could tell that the Resort staff was very seasoned and knew exactly what they were doing. Our Wedding Coordinator made the planning process extremely easy and they fulfilled all their promises when we got there. As the Bride and Groom we also had a few of our own special extras (wine ceremony, wedding favors, special gifts and surprises for our friends) that we had brought with us and the resort staff was more then happy to help us execute them beautifully. Overall we a very impressed with the resort, the staff, sunwing rep, and our wedding coordinator. The only major change we would like to see made from this resort is the ability to make reservations at the a la carts, so that we arnt wasting our vacation time in line every evening. We cant wait for our return vacation as Husband and Wife.

Great value for the money
Grounds were immaculate and staff were very friendly and helpful. The property is quite large so be prepared to take extra time to walk to get where you are going or wait for a trolley shuttle. Plenty of activities and things to do throughout the resort. A big too large for my comfort, but most would find it quite acceptable. Large play area for children and family friendly. Only one bar out of many that served premium spirits - Hemingway Bar behind the lobby of the Grand Palladium Bavaro. The other bars served only domestic spirits. Buffet continental restaurants served a wide variety of meals. Vegetables were either prepared in sauces or oil - not to my liking. Fruit is local (melon, pineapple, bananas, etc.) and the same each day. Al a carte restaurants did not accept reservations - huge wait times which was really inconvenient. People started lining up at 5:30 p.m. If you arrived past 6:30 p.m. the expected wait was over two hours -not worth it. Hotel rooms were clean with the exception of low water pressure during peak times. Our room did not have a functioning shower so we had to take baths. Asked to have the shower looked at but it wasn't addressed. Pools were not as clean as they could have been (plastic cups, insects and leaves) - although the general area was well kept and the patio/chairs cleaned each morning. The beach was beautiful, however on this specific property, the area was more narrow than other Punta Cana properties I've been on. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The entertainment staff were a lot of fun and kept people entertained. Overall, a fantastic vacation and despite a few shortcomings, I would recommend this resort.

Its big!
Arrived 11am cant check into rooms till 3. pretty standard stuff. Had the run of the resort to check things out. Buffet was pretty standard fare from any other resort. Bars were also pretty standard. Service was good by enlarge. We did experience some interesting behavior from the door staff at the specialty restaurants. We got into the Japanese, Brazilian, Mexican, & Steakhouse. We were not able to get into the Italian place as you cant make reservations ( unless you are in the royal suites section of the massive compound) we spoke to people who lined up starting at 5:20 for a place that doesn't open till 6, only to be given a vibrating puck to hold to wait their turn -- they waited 2 hours. come on now. We went at 8:45 even, figuring let the dinner crowd subside, but no dice, cant get in. We only got into the steak house ( which is on the same principle -- same door actually) because some friends we met fell ill and gave us their reservation. So, the door staff -- at the Brazilian, wow, that girl hates her job! We went expecting to be put on a wait list, we were given the vibrating puck and provided our room number we asked casually 'how long is the wait?' (it didn't matter we were curious) she snapped '' I don't know, when they are done eating, it will be after that'' wow...alright then!! lol funny. The food was good at the Brazilian, salad bar to start, then they bring a plate with a little rice, mashed potato, 1/4 cob of corn, and a fried plantain. then they bring out skewers of meat, beef, chicken, sausage, pork, vegetables, pineapple. they cut each item from the skewer at your table and move along. when you have had enough, you turn your card from green to red and they will stop. Each item was hot (which was better than lukewarm buffet options) The Mexican, door staff similar. Given the puck, told to wait in the sports bar down the walkway. ( sports bar by the way 24hrs and has quite a bit of food options -- bar food) we had a drink there, 40 mins later went for a stroll, wound up back at the Mexican door figuring it couldn't be much longer. The door staff told us ''you no wait here, I said go to sports bar'' we chuckled and moved on down the path again, 2 mins later the puck was going off. Strange. The food, was good, veggie fajitas yum. Could have made that a whole meal! We each had a beef entrée. both were excellent. Japanese was good, door staff had no issues, seated right away around the periphery. There are cook stations in the middle of the restaurant where if you can get a reservation, you can be entertained while they cook for you. Otherwise you can sit around the perimeter of the restaurant and dine. It is however VERY noisy from the ''show table'' portion of the restaurant. Cooks flashing their spatulas, tapping away on the grill for the show effect. They seemed to be having a blast though. The steak house, door staff a little crusty ( even with our reservation) but the meal, was good. NY strip was cooked well and served with good sides. Now... the rest of the place ... the resort is HUGE. The maps, are well... crude at best with no legend it was a little difficult to orient yourself exactly. It kept things interesting. The place is clean, the housekeeping and bar staff always friendly. The beach was awesome. tons of beach chairs to be had, no need to get up at the crack of dawn to secure yourself a spot. There are lots of vendors on the beach, but they are not too much trouble, and they are just trying to make a living. They will leave you be if you politely say no thank you. Yes, you will see them all week. Take a travel mug if you want to drink, as the juice glasses the drinks are in are small. Good for environment yes, but annoying to keep needing a refill. Ride the train around the resort (many train stops all over the area) it will give you a sense of just how big the place is. (it's good people watching too) The room -- well, we were in building 3000. Simple and standard accommodations. The air conditioning, ice cold. The bathroom, quite odd. Big soaker tub with a large tiled tub surround. Quite a feat to step up and over to get into...the hand held shower on the wall... literally poured all of the tub surround, causing the room to flood. We quickly figured out... you need to stand in the huge tub, take the hand shower down...shower with it that way, no flood issues. The issue is... at 5pm or so, when people come off the beach/pool to shower and prepare for dinner there is no water pressure. So, the diverter would not allow the shower head to run, ( or the toilets to flush or the sink to flow) It was naturally after I was all soaped up that this happened so it was a bit difficult, but again, vacation...not that big of a deal we managed. ( using a glass under the dribbling spout to collect enough to rinse the soap) did it ruin the week? absolutely not -- just be aware. Oh. and last about the room.. the safe. it says push in your 4 digit code... well... they really mean 6 digit code. after trying several times we realized there were 6 spots for numbers, though the instructions are very clear to enter 4 numbers. anyhow... 6 numbers..voila... locky locky... Relax, enjoy.

Good Resort
We had to upgrade our room but got a nice one for minimal cost. The grounds were very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was one pool that needed some attention with tiles missing and overall poor conditiin but it was close to the room. Food was better on some days not all. We really didn't like the hounding from people at kiosks selling their low grade goods. They wouldn't leave us alone...don't know why they are even allowed on the resort!

Found resort to be too big. Not very well laid out and confusing to navigate. No activities at the pools during the day. Food was OK. Service was good however. Rooms were clean and well maintained. The villas were good and clean. We simply didn't like how big the resort was. Lots of children and locals on the weekends. The a la carte restaurants were very badly organized. You had to get in line at 5 to 5:30 to make a reservation for that evening. There was no reserving in advance. Many times you simply didn't get into the restaurants. Sent 3 days in line for over one hour each day to make reservations. We got in, however, it was a long wait in line. Beach was great!!!!

Better than expected!
I went to Punta Cana 13 years ago, and had an AWFUL experience. When my friend said she was getting married in Punta Cana, I literally shuttered, but decided to go as she's my bff. It was 100% better than my first time! Even though the resort(s) is MASSIVE, it was pretty easy to find our way, and shuttles to help when we got lost. Will definitely consider again.
