Disappointed
There is good and bad. Resort was empty, maybe to do with the Corona virus or just how m\bad service is. Rooms were clean and beautiful and air conditioning worked great. Service was not good!! Half the resort was not even functioning everyone was complaining. We paid full price but only half the amenities were available. There were two buffets open at different times of the day that were not buffets that we have ever seen before. We were told they are trying something new called Micro buffets in which they have tiny portions of salads and carrot sticks. It was awful no choices hardly at all. Says 11 restaurants on their site and casino onsite. Nope buffet and it was impossible to get an a la cart as half were closed for the whole week and no casino onsite, all I was told is ya we have to update or site! It's really to bad as the resort itself is so nice and the beach is great but will not go back

Average hotel, not the 4 star I was looking for
It was a fabulous hotel before but not anymore.Hotel need updates. Most restaurants were not available, all reserved, even though there were very few people there. The food at the restaurants was average. Also the buffet restaurants serving very similar food every time.

Under Renovations Do not book
The grounds were amazing and the beach and pool was great, but the reason we booked this location was they advertised 11 restaurants and a buffet with very few reservations required. What we found was the restaurants were under renovations and only three were open a day. All required booking in advance. The buffet was very small and even that changed locations. The staff was not helpful and tried to avoid discussing where there was food available because they themselves didn’t know. Do to staff shortages very few bars were open and our room only got cleaned twice in a week. Very disappointed.

8/10
Would recommend this resort to anyone over 30 years old. What I would have liked more of is a better disco/entertainment. The resort wasn’t very busy but it was very relaxing. The reserve pool was empty which was where we stayed so we felt like we had it all to ourselves. The service was outstanding (food/drink/room service). Ate at bana (Japanese) two times and love it. Also really enjoyed Fuego. Wouldn’t recommend the steak house as it wasn’t anything too special. The beach is beautiful and not too busy to grab a bed or a chair. I’d go back again for sure.

Great vacation
We had a great time at Paradisus. We visited with our 4-mo son. Staff were incredibly friendly, loved getting our baby to smile, and provided us with a crib and a baby bath. The grounds were gorgeous and very well kept. The food was great - lots of selection, surprisingly good lunches, fun experiences at the a la cartes. The beach and pool were both great, and it was easy to get tiki huts and chairs. We also paid extra for a family photo shoot with Carla and the photos were incredible - highly recommend! The room itself was a bit dated and the view from our balcony left something to be desired (looked onto a neighbouring resort) but the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. Overall, we were incredibly pleased with Paradisus! Best Pina colada I've ever had!

Staff goes above and beyond: front desk noticed my daughter's birthday just passed and left cake and champagne in our room. Beautiful beachfront property and lots of pool chairs. Lots of bars with non alcoholic options as well!

November 2019 in Punta Cana
Although we had a fantastic time at this hotel, there are a few things that need improving. Check in: Gorgeous lobby as we stepped up to the check-in counter we thought to ourselves how great, no line-up. However it took at least 1/2 hour until someone finally got us checked in - not acceptable! Finally shuttled to our room and luggage set inside. Room looked nice and clean however we had an issue with the bathtub draining - this was resolved quickly. The other issue was the dresser. couldn't be bothered complaining however the drawers didn't work properly so I just left one of them out for easy access. So they really need to upgrade some oft the rooms. Our concierge was very friendly, along with almost all of the staff. we truly enjoyed the buffet along with nightly entertainment. The Hibachi and Mexican also very good however the food from the Italian and steakhouse, not good! We stuck with the buffet for the rest of the trip. When mentioned we were celebration our anniversary, it was emntioned a surprise in our room the day of, well the surprise was on us, nothing! Not that we expected anything however it would have been a nice add-on. Will definitely visit the Dominican again, however not this hotel!

1ST TIME ALL INCLUSIVE VACATIONER
First of all, I want to give a big thank you for Natausha's service. She answered all my questions in a timely manner, reassured me of my doubts, all while being polite and understanding. Because of Natausha, my trip went perfectly! This was my first time doing an all inclusive so I was not sure how it would go, what was included, excursions, etc. When I told my peers of the amazing service and deal I got on this trip, they all wanted to know how. I will always use tripcentral and Natausha for all future bookings. Thank you again Natausha. God bless her!

Fun resort
We had a 4 night stay. Thank goodness we decided to upgrade to Royal service. We ended up in building 1 which is situated very central and right at the beach. The food was just ok but as a royal service guest we were entitled to eat in La Palapa which we really enjoyed.

Another amazing vacation!
Third visit to the Paradisus Punta Cana. Highly recommend the Royal Service and if you do ask for Alex as your Butler. The beach is very clean and both the private pool and beach are very close to the suite. All of the restaurants offer very good food. A number of them are open air restaurants so make sure you use some OFF because the mosquitos can be bad. Aside from that looking forward to returning again next year.

Great All Inclusive Resort in Punta Cana
This was an excellent all inclusive resort, with amazing grounds, beach, and restaurants. The food was better than any other all inclusive resort we have been to. I was especially impressed with the VIP Royal Service "lapalapa restaurant". The drinks were good too! I really liked the friendly staff as everyone was well trained and very friendly, going above and beyond the call of duty. The affiliated golf course was fine, and we even ventured to the other Palma Rheal Paradisus resort which was an hour long walk on the beautiful beach. The lady that was on site the week of the 14th in charge of the fitness was also excellent by conducting Tabata fitness session on the beach. Thanks Paradisus for a great holiday

Great resort
We had a wonderful vacation at Paradisus Punta Cana, due largely to Argenis, who did a superb job of making sure that all of our wants were fulfilled at the pool. Drinks, towels, snacks and even lunch were delivered right to our decadent cabana bed. Argenis made sure that we wanted for nothing. Jose Durand and Yuleidi Rosa provided friendly service in The Gabi restaurant. We appreciated the cleanliness of all spaces, beautiful gardens and ponds. The flamingos and porch swings in the lobby were a nice touch. We had almost flawless meals in all the restaurants we tried. Our bed and pillows were comfortable and we love the oversized fluffy towels. Attention to small details throughout made us feel welcome.

Paradisus Punta Cana Group Getaway
Found this property very big but quite nice. The walking was hard for some as the huge cobblestones made it uneven so the hips took a beating and anyone with leg problems would find it difficult. However they do have a trolley that goes around quite often which some of us took advantage of specially from lobby area back to buffet or pool area. The two buffets were side by side which seemed different and very, very small for such a big resort . Plus they both basically had same thing in them each day for food. Myself personally only got to one a la carte...The Grill. Rib eye steak would have fed both my husband and myself. It was huge. Some others in the group went to the Japanese and one of the others, so they will speak to those I am sure. Overall food wasn't bad but didn't find enough variety I guess. We seem to be hit and miss on the pasta station which is a usual go to for us. Pool was nice , beach was nice but red flag was up last few days as it was pretty windy and rough. Entertainment was good....I didn't go to see any theater shows as they usually all seem the same to me after awhile....word had it that Michael Jackson was extremely good though. They had the silent dance party with headphones for the first time at that resort while we were there. It was great fun. We have experienced this before and always loved it at other resorts. Of course the anticipated foam party is always a hit as well. Beach Party was great and the disco we took in one night on the beach. our last evening they had a violinist and she was really good...we really enjoyed her talents. Oscar was one of the first entertainment people we had met. Some of our great servers at Gabi Beach were Yuletide, Bethania, Tavares and Christiano. At the North Bar Lobby was Yesica Perez. not to leave out the most important was Willis and Argenis at the pool bar. All the people were great that worked there though. We had changed rooms actually after a couple of days as we were having trouble in first room with hot water for showering. But the bell boys were super helpful in taking our luggage and helping carry our clothes on hangers to hold on the trolley and change rooms. We were a party of 6 in our group but met friends that consisted of 8 then 2 more in that group showed up before we left . Plus we met a couple that is local to us and made a new friendship that we can carry on with hopefully. All in all it was not a bad resort but not sure if I will go there again anytime soon.

Almost a 5+ Star
Paradisus Punta Cana is a lovely resort. The grounds and services are best on the island (been to DR 14 times). I have stayed at this resort 9 times over the years and watched the renovations and upgrades improve this resort greatly. However, the food has consistently gone downhill. The buffet is smaller, less options and and the restaurants just passable. I would also recommend only doing Royal Service for bungalow location and services of their lounge, butler and reserved pool and beach area. The food service by the pool is excellent and menu items there are not found anywhere else so a must do.

Too large and not consistent with service
Start with the positives: beautiful grounds, very clean, food quite tasty, large beach, and nice bartenders. Negatives: checking in at 10:30 pm took almost an hour and a half and we were the only ones there ( 6 in our group) that is one of the reason I wanted to fly in the pm rooms should have been ready, resort too large for us, were refused ala cartes they said they were all booked, but they weren’t, when our friends arrived the next day they had no problem booking the ala cartes ( figure that out)only 2 buffets for such a huge resort, also one or the other was closed a closed a couple of nights because of large bookings so sometimes had to wait ( not impressed)reported to air transat rep the front desk had know knowledge we were coming he said he would take care of it and they didn’t even know we were even there when we checked out. First day no room cleaned, had to ask, no turn down service at all, no chocolates, no rum in our room asked 3 times (our 6 friends that arrived the next day and received it). Was refused once by the trolly for a drive to the lobby he said to me it was only a 2 minute walk and drove away. It was no 5 star too us, not enough chairs by the pool, a lot of chairs at the beach should be chucked out

Overall good resort, beautiful grounds
I can understand why this resort gets mixed reviews after visiting for a week, HOWEVER, overall it is a very nice resort with the most beautiful grounds we have ever seen at an all inclusive. This was our 8th all inclusive from various islands in the Caribbean, so lots to compare too. We stayed mid January in just a regular room (no royal service, no reserve) GROUNDS Like I said above, it really is so beautiful here. The resort is huge, as most people mention. There are lots of trolley cars you can take if you don't feel like walking, however we always walked as it was so peaceful and serene. (Really only takes about 10-15 minutes to get from beach to lobby). We had a stroller with us, so we would often take the outer (smoother) walkway around the resort (especially when baby was sleeping) as all other paths are cobblestone. FOOD I can honestly say that anyone that complains about the food is just not being rational. Of course you are in a third world country so 63 the food is not going to be as you used to in your home country. But, we all found the food great. For breakfast you will want to eat at Gabi Beach Buffet. We always had full plates of food. You can get your eggs any way you like with the cook, plenty of bacon, sausage, hash browns, fruit, cereal, pastries, cheese, and other items. Loved the fried plantain and grilled tomatoes. For lunch, Naos buffet is better than Gabi. We often found so much food we liked that we would go back to the table with 2 plates. So many salads to chose from. (someone complained earlier about the salads and that you cant trust them, I don't know why they said that). All the food is kept in an indoor room, and it is kept quite cool, so we never had an issue with anything. Lunch also included a variety of cooked fish and meats, vegetables, fruit, cheese, deli meat, you could also get a pasta made at the pasta station. There was also hot dogs, and hamburgers too. Loved the onion rings and calamari! THE RESTAURANTS Feugo - not too bad. Probably our least favourite. Had the Mofungo and it was quite good, also sushi and maki were just okay. Bana- very good Japanese meal. We had a lot of fun at the table and the meats, salmon and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Mole - our meals were just okay, but the nacho chips they bring out at the start were great. Vento - one of our favourites. Menu selection was great. Osso Bucco was amazing. The Grill - Juan provided great service. Really nice selection on the appetizer bar. We ordered the family platter for 2 and it was great. We did not eat at Aqua due to the other reviews about the food being the worst on the resort, and the mosquitos. Passion - we splurged for a date night here. It was one of the best meals we have ever had anywhere in the world. Service was spectacular, and the food was incredible. You have to have an open mind, and familiar with fine dining to eat here though. The 8 course meal was $80 US per person and we did the wine pairing for $40 US per person. (Well worth the wine pairing) We are lucky friends of ours arrived at the resort a few days before us so they were able to pre-book all the restaurants for us at a reasonable time since we had a baby. It did seem hard to make reservations if you don't pre-book. One of my complaints is that I had emailed the resort 10 days before arrival to reserve and they never got back to me even after a follow up email. POOLS/BEACH We enjoyed most days at the main pool near the bar. The pool was great, nice and big, and lots of beds. We met the most amazing bar tender ARGENIS who took care of us all week. What an outstanding human being! Never let our drinks get empty. The pool only had a few moments of loudness, so it was mostly on the quieter side compared to some other resorts we have been too. One day we reserved a cabana on the beach for $35 US which included service, and a bottle of champagne. We found this well worth it since we had a baby and it was a lovely spot for him to nap. We brought over some loungers and it was a wonderful relaxing day. The beach itself was very nice, clear, warm, and clean. They come by and clean up the seaweed. There are a lot of vendors that walk by on the beach trying to sell you things, or excursions, but we kindly told them we weren't interested and they don't bother you. The loungers on the beach are not good. Probably in the worst shape out of any resort we've been too. The resort needs to upgrade these. Of course there are separate areas on the beach for royal service and reserve which both have nicer beds/loungers with padding. ROOMS This was one of our biggest disappointments. Like I said, we did not upgrade so we just had a regular room. The layout didn't work so great since we have a 11 month old who is crawling and there are 2 stairs in the room that go down to a sitting area. Made it a bit challenging with him. The beds were just okay, and the other furnishings are outdated. The room had a "cold" feel to it, not tropical or welcoming at all. Im sure the royal service and reserve rooms are nicer, but it would be good if the resort upgraded the regular rooms. On a positive note, we had an issue with the AC and the toilet and they sent someone to fix both within 30 minutes. We were in building 5 which was the absolute best spot for pool access, and only a 2 minute walk to the beach. Room was also not very clean. SERVICE We were slightly disappointed with the service at the Gabi buffet, and some of the restaurants. We had good service at Naos for lunc, shout out to Maria. It's too bad the service staff don't pay more attention as we ALWAYS tip at EVERY meal, and a lot of them missed out on what could have been a higher tip. Room maid service was great for us (but we tip high on the first day for the maid the fridge attendant then continue to tip throughout the week) Goes A LONG way. Aside from Argenis, we found the service to be mediocore throughout the resort. OTHER NOTES/TIPS - upon your arrival there will be a "concierge" in white who will come to talk to you and tell you they are there for you to answer any of your questions etc. But, they are just trying to get you to come to the time share breakfast at another resort. Kindly tell them you are not interested and they will leave you alone. - They claim to be an Eco Resort so there are no straws with drinks - There are a lot of costly "upgrades" at this resort. Ie. higher shelf alcohols (back bar stuff like Patron, coronas etc. drink packages, room service is $5 US per visit, cabanas on the beach) - If you're going to drink red wine go for the Cab Sauv, the Merlot tastes like grape juice. Overall, we liked the resort, but didn't see much difference between this resort which compared to some lower priced resorts we've been too.

Relaxing week at the Paradisus
Returned from a very good week at the Paradisus with 3 other couples. We had no issues to stress about from the time we checked in, until the time we left as check in and out was quick and easy. The resort is quite large, so tram rides are sometimes a good option for getting around. There were no issues with getting chairs at either the beach or around the pool. We could go for breakfast, the to our rooms to put on our bathing suits and go to the pool around 10:15 and still have lots of areas to sit. The staff was all very friendly, especially Willis and the rest of the pool area bartenders and pool waiters. All a la carte restaurant s were very good, with the Mediterranean restaurant Ventos and the The Grille steakhouse being the best. The rooms are a good size and were cleaned and restocked on time every day. They are showing a little bit of age, but we did not spend much time in them any way.The ocean had clear water and soft, clean beaches with next to no seaweed on them. You could walk for miles in either direction. Our only minor disappointment was the buffet breakfast food. The bacon was very scarce and was very under cooked. The sausage was also slightly under cooked and was basically mini hot dogs. There were a lot of fresh fruits, cereals, pancakes and a egg cooking station in the buffet,so finding food was not a problem. All 4 couples said that they would return to the resort and recommend it to friends.

BEAUTIFUL RESORT!
My husband and I went for 1 week for our honeymoon. We would go back to this resort in a heartbeat! It was so beautiful, clean, well-maintained and tranquil. You can relax the whole time or party if you want to! There are lots of restaurants to choose from and the buffets had a nice variety of things to eat everyday. We especially liked the fact that you could order a whole pizza to your room via room service for no extra charge. The only thing that I feel they could improve upon is the cleaning services. The staff didn't come around until later in the day to clean rooms and we found this a little inconvenient. Especially when you have an early dinner reservation and you get a knock at the door after 5 pm asking if you want your room cleaned. However, that being said, all of the resort staff are quick to rectify any problems you may experience. My husband and I discovered that first hand.

Ups and downs at Paradisus
We had a great time but would not return to this resort and here’s why: Upon arriving, the front desk clerk immediately tried to sell us a 700$ upgrade for ‘royal service’. We were told that without this upgrade we would not be allowed to use one of the two pools, part of the beach, several bars and restaurants, the second lobby or have nicer quality rooms. This excluded literally half of what the resort had to offfer. And when you pay for an all inclusive you don’t expect to be bombarded with things you won’t have unless you pay more. When we declined, the tone of service changed. We then waited 3 hours for our room which surpassed checkin time. We were told we’d have a king and we got two doubles (one more uncomfortable than the next) The food was alright (fresh produce), the beach was breathtaking (one of the most beautiful) and the facilities were clean. Many of the staff were friendly and many were not, and looked unhappy (which made me feel a bit guilty for being there) Overall, we had a lovely time and overlooked the negative but would go elsewhere next time. While most resorts have that type of ‘royal’ upgrade, this place takes it to a whole new level. I’ve never taken the paid upgrades and it never mattered before but at Paradisus, if you don’t take it, you see the division in quality and service.

Overall the resort was amazing. Very beautiful and enjoyable stay. There were a few things though that were not so great. The service in the main dinning locations by the beach were extremely slow service and not very friendly. We would go the whole dinner or lunch without getting our water filled up. Also the variety and selection of food was very averge. We were hoping for something better. Also the service at fuego was terrible. We waiting 30 minutes or more just for a drink and our food took over an hour and they only brought out a couple people's food and others had to wait even longer. Also our transit guide Juan Pablo was not very helpful at all. He overcharged us on 2 excursions and refused to give is a refund and just told us to write a complaint. Very poor service.

Food was really bad
The resort overall was ok. we stayed there during March break 2018. The good stuff: The staff are nice and they did their best to keep us happy. Rooms are clean and spacious. Internet service was free and almost everywhere. The beach was clean and big. The bad stuff:1- the food was really really bad at this resort , their buffets are very lame and lack variety. If you like your food this is not your place. Even their a la carte resturants not that great. That was almost all of the people main comment about this resort. 2-too many sales people bugging you to buy trips to go off the resort , on the beach , and by the pool , they keep coming every day. 3- no hot tub in their rooms. Unless you get upgraded to Royal service then you will have one. We stayed in a cheaper resorts that had better food and hot tub in the room and same great service. I won’t be staying at this resort again .

Paradisus Punta Cana Was Great!
The resort grounds and facilities are huge with more restaurants than you can possibly eat in and two great buffet restaurants every day. The quality and selection of the food was wonderful. The grounds were exceptionally well kept and the landscaping is really beautiful with lots of great opportunities for pictures. The beach was clean and the sands are groomed every morning. The main pool is huge and varies from a depth of three feet to five feet all around which makes it very safe for the kids and nice to walk around and lounge in. The staff provide all kinds of pool toys and floatation devices to use and there was even a foam party. The biggest surprise was every Monday is paintball in the natural Mangrove on the grounds and my son played non stop for three hours. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. We didn't want for anything during our stay.

Wonderful Resort!
We really enjoyed the Paradisus Punta Cana. Last year, we stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real, farther down the beach. The Buffet at the Palma Real was better, but otherwise, we preferred the Paradisus Punta Cana. A large resort, with beautifully landscaped grounds and a long, wide, white sand beach. The beach chairs were well spaced and the beach never felt crowded. Lots to do for adults and there were many families there as well. The resort is large, but there are efficient trolleys to help get around, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great value - highly recommend.

All the staff worked hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay and were quick to offer any assistance we may have required. We found everything from the rooms to the grounds and the buffets clean and well-kept. The restaurants were very good and the buffets offered a wide variety of dishes. Not every dish was amazing but we were always able to find something good to eat. Sadly we could never find a chair at the pool because they are apparently reserved for towels. If you are a golfer the resort is a real bargain given that golf is included (except for the cart fee).

Lots of daytime activities and great nightly entertainment; shows and live music for dancing. Lots of fun! Good food and outstanding service.

3 star hotel with the potential to become 5 star
Paradisus Punta Cana presents itself beautifully. The grounds are spectacular and their eco-friendly setting is magnificent. Everything is spotless. The staff are very friendly and helpful although at times the lack of proficient English made it difficult to communicate our needs. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best and far too often only lukewarm. On one occasion the breakfast buffet was so cold that it was impossible to eat. The Royal Service section was the only exception where the service and food was impeccable. As well, the buffet was very limited in its choices. On three nights around 2:00 am there were very rowdy and loud guests on the grounds which the staff did nothing to stop. We loved the pool and were impressed by how hard the staff worked to make the guests welcome. We were disappointed in our room as it looked nothing like the advertised pictures. The maids never noticed when we were out of toilet paper and kleenex and had no face clothes so I had to go looking for somebody to get them for us. The public areas were beautiful but the suites are in bad need of a facelift. The walkways were poorly lit at night with uneven and cracked flagstone which were very dangerous and scary to navigate in the darkness. We feel that the hotel is over rated as a 4.5 but with some tweaking could merit the rating that they claim. It is well suited to a younger crowd and is ideal for families. Unless you are lucky enough to get a room near the pool, you had to walk a long way to get to the pool and restaurants. We will not return to this resort.

Truly Paradise!
The Paradisus resort was absolutely fantastic. The grounds were gorgeous; the beach and pool areas were beautiful; food was great and the staff and service were top notch!! There is an excellent variety of restaurants and the buffet was very good. The staff is always smiling (Jensy the waiter by the pool and Tony in guest services were outstanding)!! We stayed in a deluxe junior suite and the rooms and balconies were spacious and very clean. I would highly recommend this amazing resort!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Smells really bad
We had to change room for 3times because it smells really bad and one of the rooms has bed bug. Food is ok and hotel service people are ok. However, parasailing and hair styling people are liars. We do not recommend this restort.

Great Time
The hotel grounds were extremely well kept and very clean. There were ample chairs to choose from at the beach, never had a problem finding a spot to enjoy some sun. A recommendation would be to have some palapa’s put on the beach so that if you require some time in the shade it’s available. We did rent a covered sun bed one day for a very reasonable $25 USD. The waiters will serve you all day until your little heart is content. The only complaint we had was our room didn’t get cleaned 3 days in a row. We don’t spend very much time in our room, so after one little phone call we received fresh towels without any hesitation from the front desk staff and an apology. The food was great, with lots of selections to satisfy even the picky people. Also, unlimited a la Cart reservations was a nice perk. All in all had a great time!

Overall good trip
While the room was a little dated, I have to say that the staff kept it clean and dealt with minor issues efficiently. The restaurants, pool, beach and hotel property were all very well kept. All staff were friendly, helpful and accomodating. Overall it was a very good trip and would recommend this property to people with or without kids. If you are going to book here, pay the extra fee and upgrade your room, the upgraded rooms are beautiful.

Beautiful Resort on a beautiful beach!
This was a beautiful lush well kept resort with amazing staff. Louis the beach bar tender the best and always had a smile and a welcoming greeting. :) There were two events that took place the week we were there that basically shut down the main buffet. The employees were run off their feet trying to keep up with the back log, as this was definitely a poor management decision.

Beautiful Getaway
Easy 20 min. bus ride to resort. Luggage drop was not directed very well on arrival. No direction was given getting off the bus. Book close to the water and restaurants for shorter walking. Pool area not near the water so choose which one you like better - map is also not to scale. Regular running shuttles were great but some are running on Diesel which was a HUGE TURN OFF. Add the heat plus fumes not pleasant! Grounds were amazingly kept with lots of drinkable coconuts! workers happy to prepare one for you. Be ready to be hounded by beach sellers even though they are to remain only on the beach I was told, a few wandered around you 2 rows back which can wear on you by day 5. Several real healthy juices for breakfast but limited juices at the bar was odd. They promote a healthy approach to the bar menu which lacked real juices. Great walking beach/ friendly staff at the pool / beach bars. $1500 in promised spending bonuses on pampering services, turned out to be a reward for viewing timeshares.. Surprise! And then it's not applied to not all the overpriced services and only covers part so you are buying anything you choose at reg. price. Felt like a scam. Check in said talk to your lobby travel rep and he said (AirTransat rep) he couldn't discuss it? We had to arrange a meeting to get it? Oh - a timeshare presentation. Aha moment. Very disappointing. Felt like a scam - poorly represented. Not all restaurants were equal so ask around what most liked more so you make the most of your dinners. Bad experience at THE GRILL. Ordered ribs and my dinner came as a slab of meat on one side no bones and the flip side was solid white fat and gristle - I was shocked. The phone system had 5 star features but ours worked for the first day. Bad line. Housekeeping was always after 4/5pm which was inconvenient and they always scented our room as we noticed after 3 days a slight septic odor. Curtain off track at the end and paint splatters on the wall art. I think our room was next in line for a renovation. Frosting patches peeled off the shower glass/ soap build up and grungy hardware attaching at the bottom. Great TV with lots of channels. CNN / NHL / MBA playoffs and The Voice... I pointed out to staff twice that 2 different washrooms had plumbing problems so the attention to some details are not being managed. A lot of staff always on their cell phones too... The main beach restaurant and bar was closed for renovation after being told how nice it was by our travel agent. Guess they don't pass that along for fear of not booking? DONT BUY CIGARS ON THE BEACH. Locals say the boxes are knock offs and they use 2,nd grade leaf and some banana leaf filler... on the flip side, 1 week of great weather can over look a lot!!!

5 STAR RESORT
This is the nicest and cleanest and friendliest resort we have ever stayed at! Starting at check in, the manager Luis upgraded us to an updated suite in a superior location. Our room was clean, bright and very spacious with a large balcony and a mini fridge that was always restocked with drinks and snacks. The food was excellent and a huge variety and we were given a reservation at all the separate restaurants too, We tried them all. The resort had the largest section of the most beautiful beach that stretched on for miles in both direction. Paradisus had three times the beach front than any other resort on Bavaro. Jose Reyes was the beach attendant and he was exceptional, extremely attentive and so friendly and chatty. There was always a bed (love them) on the beach and lounge chairs by the pool available! This surprised us with it being March Break! At the pool Jose Fernandes kept us busy with dancing lessons and pool exercises. He was friendly and happy and inclusive. The shows at night were excellent, (especially Michael Jackson). We do not have one negative thing to say about the resort. We loved it and would definitely highly recommend it!

The grounds are absolutely breath taking with the palm trees, tropical plants, throughout and the flamingos in the lobby. The junior suite was very clean, big and the maids always provided fresh towels. At the buffets the food was tasteful but was just warm. Needs improvement for hot foods. Booking ala carte dinner reservations needs also improvement as to when selecting restaurants letting u know right then if available and not 2 days later also being booked for restaurants that weren't selected. Otherwise the Paradisus, Punta Cana is a beautiful resort.

Terrible Service
This property looks good from the outside, well maintained. Our TV didn't work, we called every day to get it fixed but all we got was empty promises and useless apologies. It was raining for 3 days so TV was almost like an essential service which was never delivered. One thing that we liked was the food and drink selection. Service is very bad for a 5-star hotel. Wonderful Resort
We returned to Paradisus Punta Cana because we enjoyed the Bali Beds that are available with the Royal Service option as well as the service on the beach and the quality of food offered in the Restaurant 'La Palapa' which is exclusive to Royal Service guests. The beach is wonderfully wide with soft sand and there is a long stretch of beach to walk either way which is important to us. We had great weather in mid-december-it rained at night and was in the 80 degree range during the day. We had dinner at Fuego restaurant and it was delicious-interesting options and the service was great. We also had dinner one night at Vento-the food was excellent and service was also good. The Royal Service area offers elevated snack options every day which include smoked salmon and cheese selection as well as baked goods and desserts near to the beach. We found the Royal Service offers great value and makes the stay very enjoyable with restaurant booking being taken care of. We are looking forward to our next visit to this wonderful resort.

We enjoyed our vacation very much. There had been a lot of rain the week before we arrived so there was still some walk ways with 3 inches of water on them and we had to go in big trucks to get back and forth from the lobby to the beach since electric carts wouldn't go through the water. The staff was very friendly and helpful and kept the grounds, pool and bathrooms very clean. Our room keys didn't work one day and the employees were very quick to fix the issue. We ate at most of the restaurants and the food and service was good. We really enjoy walking on the beach and this hotel had a large beach area and there was no problem with getting a chair. Overall this resort was great.

Nov 24/16 to Dec 1/16 Paradisus Punta Cana
This resort is on Bavaro Beach, approximately 30 minutes from the Punta Cana airport. While this resort is beautiful there were several negative factors that made our vacation less than memorable. I will start with the positive aspects. - stunningly beautiful, wide beach - the hotel itself is lovely, maintained very well, set on lush 40 hectare property -food is of very good quality, with a large variety -given the time of year the hotel was at 50% capacity, which is a definite plus for us (900 room resort) - bar service was friendly and efficient, we never had to wait -our room was cleaned early each day, lots of towels and shampoo etc., and mini bar was well stocked each day Negatives: -there was a problem with our booking and when we arrived at the resort there was not a room for us. After 3 hours and many phone calls, our Sunwing rep. Richard sorted it out for us. At this point we were very tired, hot and hungry . -the air conditioner in our room was not working, it was 26 degrees in our room when we arrived, we called the front desk, and they said they would sent someone, but no one came that night -we left the patio door open the first night since it was so hot in our room, but neither my husband or myself slept very well worrying about an open door on the ground floor. The air conditioner did eventually cool the room down to 21 degrees overnight , and worked well from that point on -the people in the room directly above us woke us up 5 nights out of 7 when they came home from the disco. There was loud music, shouting, slamming of doors, but the worst part was the fighting. Yelling, arguing, and physical abuse, in fact we found the young lady sleeping on our deck bed one morning. We reported this several times to the front desk and they assured us that the security people would take care of it, they had several complaints from other guests in our building. It was not resolved at all. -on our last day our bus was picking us up at the resort at 12:00 pm and we had to make 3 calls to the front desk to have someone help us with our luggage and give us a ride to the lobby. Given the size of the resort walking was not an option. Someone finally picked us up a 11:50 am, we were quite worried we would miss our bus. Each of these concerns on their own would probably not make or break a holiday, but all things combined, there were too many negative issues.

Beautiful Resort
The grounds were beautiful, landscaping staff were there daily, cutting down any palm branches or coconuts that may fall during the day. Lobby was also beautiful with its ponds, flamingos, ducks, turtles... The bars would make any concoction you wanted and all the bartenders were very friendly. A bit of a language barrier when it came to Crown & Ginger (I received Crown & Tonic, but couldn't let Crown go to waste:). Our room, which was huge and beautifully decorated was well cleaned daily and mini bar was replenished, always lots of bottled water supplied. Really appreciated that water and the wonderful air conditioning every time I returned to the room and that was the only decent a/c you will find. Beach was amazing and clean. Always towels available and had no trouble finding an empty palapa to spend time under. Had heard so many stories about mosquitoes but was only bitten twice during a week at the resort, I was bitten 8 more times at the airport waiting for the flight home. The wait staff at Gabi Beach were a little unfriendly perhaps because of the language barrier. They seemed to spend more time visiting amongst themselves than taking care of the guests. If you aren't a fan of salt, you will have a tough time finding anything that isn't already salted for you. I usually add salt without tasting but only did that once before learning extra wasn't needed (ever). Our room (on the ground floor) smelled very musty and all my clothes and luggage smelled when I returned home. Washing all the clothes fixed that but the luggage has retained the smell. Maybe rooms on the higher floor wouldn't have this problem?

Disappointed
Love Punta Cana. Beaches are beautiful. People very friendly. This resort was very nice. Rooms were great. Disappointed with the buffet. Only one open with limited selection. We were given the run around every time we reserved for a restaurant. 3 times they said they had no record of our reservation. Hotel front lobby staff were very unprofessional. Didn't seem to care when we had a problem. I have never complained about a resort but this one was not very professional at all at the front desk. Could not find a manager. Could not find any activities on the beach . Very very quiet. The waiters were great. The grounds people and towel guys were awesome. Bartenders at the bar very helpful. It was great having unlimited towels. I would not stay here again or recommend it.

Paradisus = Paradise
Our one week stay at the Paradisus Resort was great. Front desk was great regarding service and their means to help. Check in was as expected a little rough, but they offered my family of four a free upgrade of one night at the Reserve which is definitely more for families with smaller children. The Reserve is very quiet, beautiful rooms and pool but remote from the rest of the resort. The grounds are exceptionally well kept by the workers that definitely work hard every day...beautiful job!! Kelvi was our favourite at the lobby bar. We would end our nights there with a late night cap before taking the Golf cart back to our rooms. The guys at the main pool bar were also very friendly and entertaining. The staffs all around were very friendly and most understood English enough to make conversation. Need I say there was prevalent Time Share solicitation, employees who seemed to hustle by striking up conversations and if you weren't interested would walk off leaving you hanging in mid-sentence. Lacked a bit of day time entertainment, we would've enjoyed inclusive activities on the beach or at the pool although we did enjoy the themed nights held at different locations on the resort. The food was of exceptional quality, there was variety in the buffets plus many beautiful a al carte restaurants to choose from. BBQ night Wednesday was by far the best night. Tables and lights set up directly on the beach with live music and wait staff that kept the drinks flowing. Chef at Agua came out to address my daughter’s peanut allergy and then again which was very much appreciated and nice. The Gabi Buffet, Bar (Francisco) and parties there were our favourite. It was hard to find cabanas / shade at the pool area from people who would just leave towels to save spots for the day. The beach had better control on removing unused towels after certain time. The beach did have weeds along the edge of the sand which the workers tried their best every morning to rake up. Golf cart travel was necessary as the resort is pretty big, and the main lobby is a little ways off. The whole resort lay out is beautiful, we didn't mind exploring each path finding pretty Eco gardens. The Paradisus Punta Cana was like Paradise, overall a very clean, five-star deserving resort.

“First time in Dominican Republic... Good vacation but not †perfect‡!â€
Our first time in Dominican Republic just ended! Me and my girlfriend have spent one week in Paradisus Punta Cana. In brief: The hotel is amazingly beautiful, there is a big management problem: "The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing", for some reason we found that the male staff are much friendlier than the femake staff, the fruits and vegetables are delicious, the beverages are tasty, the pools and beaches are beautiful, the casino is small, the outside of the resort is depressing: poor people and taxi drivers who charge you a lot for short distance driving. The first two days were annoying: The hotel was probably over booked so the front desk management put us in a luxury Reserve room for only one day. Seemed suspicious but we took it... The room was not clean!!! So annoying... after waiting the whole long day of flying and waiting in the July heat. The next day they moved us around to our original room but there was a huge problem with the front door. Apparently it was painted badly and couldn't be closed properly. At that point we were so mad and we demanded to speak to the manager. We got champagne to cool us down and only after two hours got a different room. There are many activities that you think that are included but you have to pay much more extra. We heard complaints that a couple booked a babysitter but the hotel screwed it up and charged them more. Finally, after losing two days, we started our vacation.

Nice resort.
The grounds are beautiful and vast with flowers, trees, lights and music at night. The room are comfortable and big. The cleaning services are a bit inconsistant: no face and hand cloths after the first day, 4 towels one day, 1 the next. Shampoo and soap were replenish only once. The beach is amazing:nice sand,no shell or rock. The pool is nice but not very big compared with other resorts. We weren't Royal so we didn't have access to the other pool. The big disappointment was the restaurant reservations. Although it was saying unlimited a la carte dinners on the Trip Central website, they were giving us only 4 out of 7. That is something that I always check before choosing the resort. The rest of the time,we were supposed to go to the buffet which was not very good. My husband complained and they gave us another reservation to the Buffet in the Royal part which was better. The a la carte restaurants were mostly good, depending on what you order. There is no sport bar with pool tables which we really like to spend time usually. The ping pong tables are outside and damaged. There are bicycles everywhere which is nice and shuttle trains to go around the resort. 30 minutes from the airport with direct transfer. No snorkeling (no reefs) in front of the resort.

Beautiful Resort
This was our second visit to Paradisus Punta Cana. Last year (2015) we visited at the same time of year. It was excellent, and so we decided to return. This year however, we ran into some disappointments. There have been some changes, some of which are puzzling. For example, there are some cabanas directly in front of the Gabi Beach Bar and buffet restaurant. Last year, they were free to use. This year however, my husband and I rested on one on our first day, and before too long, a woman approached us and informed us that they were now being rented to the tune of $50 U.S, per day!!! We were first of all embarrassed, as there were no signs on them indicating such a thing; and then angry at the gall of the management to charge their patrons for the use of a cabana, when the cost of a week at their resort is already at the high end of the scale. Secondly, last year, we were able to call anytime to get a dinner reservation at a reasonable time at any of the A La Carte's, even on the same day. This year, we spent 20 minutes on the phone trying to get dinner at a reasonable time, and for the entire week of our stay, we could only get 6 or 6:30, or 9-9:30 reservations and some of the restaurants we could not get into at all. This was frustrating, but what was even more frustrating was the fact that when we looked into these same restaurants at the dinner hour that we would have preferred, in every case, they were less than half filled with patrons. This same thing happened to friends that we met during our stay and they even approached the restaurants in some instance to try and get in, but they were denied. Also missing was any sort of live entertainment inside the restaurants. At least that was our experience, however, we also had less than prime time reservations. Thirdly, last year, every afternoon at 4 p.m., at the Gabi Beach Bar, there was a D.J. there playing some great music while waiters took around trays of champagne, cool wet towels and bowls of hot nuts to snack on. At the same time, women from YHI Spa were there offering free five minute neck massages with their potable massage chairs, or free hand massages. This year, there was none of that that we saw, and we were often in that area at that same time of day. All of these complaints would be things that, had we not gone there last year, we would not have noticed as being different, However, when you return to a resort based on many of these perks that were offered and those things have changed in a negative way, it taints your opinion and affects your experience making it more disappointing than exhilarating. On a positive note, we were given a beautiful room and the resort itself is breathtaking. It is very large and the lighting is romantic and gives an intimate feel. In addition, there is always beautiful music everywhere along the walkways through hidden outdoor speakers. The grounds are kept immaculate and are always being tended. The lobby is stunning and at night it is lit with hundreds of tea lights and pillar candles which is impressive, as anyone who burns candles would know that they are labour intensive. There are many gorgeous places all over the vast lobby to sit and relax with a cocktail and every night there is live music offered and a great place to dance. The staff for the most part are very friendly and polite, and will do their best to accommodate your needs. The beach is perfect with powdery white sand and always a fresh breeze and the swimming is safe and fun with big surf and shallow waters. There are abundant beach chairs available and always lots of fresh dry towels for which they have drop containers available on the beach when you are finished with them for the day. This is refreshing for any of you who have endured the towel obsession in Cuba. Those who have, know what I am talking about. For those looking for a more active vacation, there did not seem to be many fun activities going on during the day, but I would definitely recommend this resort for couples who are looking for romance and rest, or to anyone looking for a gorgeous place to enjoy a tropical break.

Amazing Time
Had a fabulous time and would definitely go back. Upon our arrival we were welcomed with a cold drink and towel. Check-in was fast and we were off to our room in no time. Since we arrived late in the afternoon we didn’t have time to enjoy the pool, but we made up for it for the rest of our 1 week stay. The rooms are broken down into 2 level buildings with 4 rooms per floor. We stayed on the first floor near the pool. The bathroom has a large double shower. We did have a problem with the water temperature in the shower…it was either hot or cold. The room has a 2 step walk down to an area with couch, chair, coffee table, bar fridge and desk. The beds were very comfortable. Very few English channels on the TV but then we didn’t spend very much time in our room. This property is huge and great for people who like to walk and explore. The grounds are impeccable and well maintained with very lush palm trees and other plants. Workers are constantly working on the grounds. The beach is breathtaking, you can walk for miles in white sand. We took advantage of the gym and used the facilities most mornings. The yoga room wasn’t very good as the air was damp so the floor and mats were very slippery. They need to invest in better mats. Big shout out to Argenis and Pedro for making the best Hummingbirds drinks at the swim up pool bar. The pool is huge but separated into different sections so adults can hang out by the swim up and children can swim in a separate area. The poolside grill was not very good. They served hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken nuggets and fries. The food sat under heaters but it was usually cold. I like the idea where you didn’t have to carry a towel card. Bins were all over the place where you discarded your used towel and picked up a clean one at the towel station. I want to thank the entertainment team Noel and Jordan for getting us involved with activities in the pool. We participated in yoga, aerobics, paddling and the eco bikes. They also made our last night enjoyable dancing at the Gabi beach party. They have a large variety of food with 2 buffets and 9 a la carte restaurants. The food was very good. The watermelon and pineapple was the best I’ve had in a long time. We’re counting the days for returning next year. I recommend this resort to anyone that wants to have a really great vacation.

Good resort
Restaurants were below par for breakfast and lunch. Buffet style. However omlettes were made to order in the morning. No fresh sandwiches offered for lunch or late afternoon. Hot dogs, hamburgers and french fries at pool area bar under heaters in late afternoon. The restaurants for evening dining were average to slightly above average. Entertainment was very good in main lobby offering local talent. Entertainment near the beach in the evening I felt was more for the staff's enjoyment as I looked around and saw families and mature couples gather and look somewhat perplexed. The Spa was excellent. Great service. The layout of the resort was conducive to relaxation, spacious and inviting. The front desk staff as well as the concierge professional and extremely helpful. Location on the beach wonderful with security in sight but not obtrusive. Shopping in the resort was minimal but the boutique was excellent serving typical tourist T-shirts but a few higher end products. The golf course was a great and welcome change from the typical resort style, perfectly manicured, overly expensive and non-challenging round. Loved all the three 9's offered. Staff professional. I've saved the best for last....the Passion restaurant was beyond exceptional. The dining experience here was the hightlight of the trip.

Very nice resort!
The resort was really nice and the food was pretty good. Recommend you reserve the restaurants as soon a you arrive. We did have an issue with he air conditioner leaking water on the floor. The beach was much nicer than some resorts in that location.

Amazing report + staff = amazing vacation for us!
Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all staff at Paradisus Punta Cana that made our trip unforgettable! Our stay was definitely a "paradise" as the name of the report is and for good reason. We were impressed with the friendliness, attentiveness of the staff as well as the amenities offered. We really cannot find one thing that we did not like. Everything and everyone contributed to us having an amazing time and wedding anniversary. We will definitely come back! Already some of our friends are looking to vacation there based on our experience. In particular, we would like to recognize the following staff for their impressive service that really made a great contribution to our stay there: Animacion team: Francis Medina (Happy Face), Josiah Inirio, Jhordan Rosario, Luis Florian, Raynold Tamayo, Noel Vasquez, Anthony Contrera, Favio Mena, and Julito Beriguete. Gabi Beach Hostess: Jenrry Mateo, Mallelin Escasuller, Anyelina Gomez.

Great Resort
Resort is very clean and most of the staff extremely friendly. Rooms are somewhat dated but very clean and functional. If you're going on a trip to stay in your room you're wasting your time. Only place on the strip that used bulldozers to clean up the beach of the unusually high level of seaweed. Most other places used manual labour and took 3 days to get it done. All the restaurants we visited had great food but some of the reservation restaurants could offer a little more variety and bigger plates. Some of the staff at the NAOS restaurant were more than willing to make you food even at 3 am and one time prepared 5 pizzas for my son and his friends. A big shout out to Anthony Contraras who made things lively and fun even after 13 straight hours of work.

Great Holiday!
Wonderful vacation! Very clean, well kept resort. Service was amazing, friendly staff. Food was way better than expected and readily available. Reservations were difficult to get in a few restaurants so we settled for the buffet and discovered how fabulous the food was there too! Rooms were a bit out dated, but tons of light and close to everything. Not a lot of activities so a holiday for pure relaxation.

Very nice resort
Beautiful well kept grounds, Very good food. Service was not up to 5 star standing. The higher the tipping, the better the service. There were a lot of small issues that needed addressing - examples - no hand towels in rooms, bar fridge not being restocked, no security safes in rooms as advertised.

Nice resort. Lots of traffic on pathways
Overall the resort was great. Beaches were fantastic, pool was clean and rooms were ok. The food was fantastic. Best food I've had at an all inclusive. Some of our best meals were actually at the buffet. Downsides - lots of traffic on the main walkway. It's a big resort but they don't have any service roads. All the service trucks, maintenance trucks and shuttles compete for the same space as guests walking on the main walkway. With small kids I didn't think that traffic was going to be an issue. Always busy and some aggressive drivers. Never got a working safe. Kids pool was a ways away at the reserve. Overall a positive experience but would hesitate to go back with small kids based purely on the traffic on the resort.

Used to be better, still good, BUT mosquitoes!
This was our second visit to this hotel, some things are now changed, some things are still good, some better (mostly for Royal Service guests), some are worse. Good: Grounds - still one of the best in Punta Cana, public areas are very beautiful, rooms are just fine, almost no issues. The sun beds at the pools and at the beach are the best out of almost all the hotels around. The service is pretty good too. So-so: Dining: from just o.k. to sometimes very good, the food and wine choice used to be much better. . Bad: We see only 1 main issue with the property, the current management doesn't care much about mosquitoes situation, that almost ruined our stay. We have been to this hotel around 8-9 years ago or so, also September timeframe, there was no single mosquito in the lobby evening time, that issue was taken care of by the previous hotel management. Now the things are different. I would not expect to have mosquitoes bytes all over after sitting for less than an hour in the lobby of a 5 star hotel, that is completely unacceptable for us, and that never happend before to us in Dominican Republic in 5 star hotels.
