The beach at Bahia Principe Grand El Portillo is a pristine stretch of powdery white sand, soft to the touch and perfect for leisurely strolls or sunbathing. The crystal-clear turquoise waters provide an inviting setting for swimming and water sports. While the beach is well-maintained, seaweed and sargassum can sometimes affect the shoreline, particularly from May to October. Despite this, the resort staff work diligently to keep the beach clean. 

Samana enjoys a tropical climate, with warm temperatures year-round (18C-32C). The best time to visit is between December and April when the weather is typically sunny and dry.
