Was my second time there and again had a great time. Food is great. Rooms were perfect had a swim up. Service was excellent Beach unfortunately was bad but not the hotel’s fault. Shows were fun.

Perfectly appointed hotel with fantastic food, large rooms, and an excellent pool with lots to do. Staff were all smiles the whole time and made sure that everything was perfect during our stay. Largely couples during our stay so may not be ideal for singles looking to mingle.

Bahia principe Ambar was the perfect getaway for us. The location was right on the beach and the resort enviorment was perfect for older couples. Food was excellent and we had mamy choices of restaurants to choose from as all of Bahia principe resorts in Punta Cana are conectred

The only good things I could say is that the rooms were clean and the “Limbo” à la carte restaurant was good. That is were it ended. The meat at the Rodizio steak house was harder than my shoe. We went for a wedding and the chicken also was tuff to cut and was stuffed with raisins when it was supposed to be wild mushrooms. Most of our guests got sick and to top it off, all 4 toilets by the pool were locked the two days I had to use them.

We have been to this resort 3 times in the last 4 years, we had excellent service from Rodolfo the beverage person. The house keeping staff was amazing, an issue we had was we booked a king size bed in November 2025 but we were given 2 twins. Which was disappointing as this was our 25th wedding anniversary trip. Some of the à la carte restaurant the staff were dismissive and rude. The Indian and Greek restaurants were disappointed in.

Everything was impeccable.........................................the grounds, the pool, the restaurants, the unbelievable service for all of our fourteen guests. All the staff were incredible. We renewed our 50th anniversary vows under the gazebo and the wedding planner Eddiana wwas outstanding and the officiator was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!!! We would highly recommend this resort to everybody.

Well kept resort. Clean rooms. Swim up room is very fun to have. Food is very good. They do serve Coors Light, amazing ! The only thing we did not like is people ''reserving'' chairs at the beach and at the pool very early in the morning, and they use them around 9 or 10am. Very frustrating !

We absolutely loved this resort. It was our second visit, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The buffet offered great food with plenty of variety, so there was always something for every taste. The à la carte restaurants were also excellent. We are pool people, and this resort was perfect for that. The entertainment was scheduled only in the afternoon, which allowed us to enjoy quiet, relaxing mornings by the pool. There were always enough chairs for everyone, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, another fantastic stay.

Both my Husband and I loved everything about this resort. We cannot think of anything that we would have changed- Staff, Food, Amenities were all 10/10! We’re already planning to go back next year :)

Lobby, Sky, Water, Grounds: Picturesque! But way too many cats that guests & STAFF feed/touch/pet. Gross!! Coffee Shop, Beach Bar & Grounds Maintenance - Miguel, on the beach to be noted: Excellent. Everything else was a NIGHTMARE and RUINED our vacation completely. The list is endless, so in a nutshell... Service & English Language: ZERO! We had to call daily for basic requirements that were met poorly, or not at all. Staff: Didn't speak ENG at all (outside of the lobby) & didn't even try to understand us. Rude & useless & arrogant & did their jobs poorly. (I've been EVERYWHERE and NEVER had this problem!) Endless stream of inconsistent, mismanaged, or not managed at all, horrible service. AND everybody and their mother wanted a tip! Rooms: Not remotely noise proof & the beds were as hard as brick. Rooms were never cleaned, just swept (poorly) & beds made; that's it! God forbid you ask for more. Everyone is so shocked when you you have a "complaint/issue". Oh, and everyone in the pool drinks & pees in it all day. The guests told us. And the Esmerelda guests suck up Ambar umbrellas, meaning you have to get up at 6am to find one. And Ambar guests pays double! Ah yes, besides the restaurants being a disaster, an with average or below average food, the smell of diesel, all day, from the motor boats on the Ambar beach really sealed the deal. We are boycotting Bahia properties, as of now.

This resort was the perfect size. Everything was easy to get to. The grounds are well taken care of. Lots of loungers around the pool. Beach was nice. Lots of restaurant choices. We would stay here again.

The hotel grounds were beautiful. All of the staff were excellent. Room was clean and looked after. Meals were excellent. Gluten free options were good. (Would love a pasta option). Coffee shop, ice cream man, beach grill and gym were fantastic. The negatives were the beach sports offered (no beach volleyball or even a net to use). No kayaks either. Also, white party cancelled last minute! Finding shade on the beach was also challenging.

This was the first time at this resort. It is nice but being at another adults only, inclusive resort several times, there was many expectations that did not met my standard. It is definitely a walk around resort with lovely manicured grounds. Beach area was crowded, very nice pool with lots of activity and good seating. Most of the time it was geared to all age levels, but mostly to the younger crowd. I felt sorry for the retired/seniors closer to the pool area as there was non stop music during the daytime from 10 to 6. One day the singer was so bad, we went into our room and closed the door for peace. Restaurants - Limbo, Portofino was very good and M.E,A.T. was very disappointing, The steak was Blue! Had to return it......Every day the Buffet was themed - e.g. Mexican, Spanish etc. nice selection for breakfast, lunch & dinner. and exceptional breads and desserts Entertainment in the Lobby each night was excellent. Great gathering area! A good selection of music that entertain every one! Even Silent Disco! The rooms were well maintained. Clean and very bright. The bar fridge had only rum and some water and pop. But they were accommodating when are needs were met. Staff were very nice and considerate The downfalls in my opinion are - no screens on the sliding doors, In the buffet, not all the dishes were labelled which made it difficult to know what was in it and it did become "same old"- would preferred to choose my own seating - was a waiter that was really annoying crying "coffee" all the time was not aware of the app to order restaurants meals beforehand - butler service was inconsistent especially during the evenings - Pathways at night were not well lite which was hazardous when it rained - Music way too loud and was continual throughout the day. It was mentioned that Hyatt was taking over this resort at the end of March and I must admit there should be a lot of upgrades to this resort.

This was our first time to this resort. We have nothing to complain about! The food was amazing, the staff went out of their way to help you. You felt special everywhere you went.The martini bar is awesome ! The staff there made it a highlight of the evening. The pool entertainment was great. We had a lot of laughs and a few dance lessons. So much fun in the foam party to the beach party! We loved the canoe full of beer.The coffee shop was how we started each morning. Definately going back!

It’s always been a great destination, however the resort is under going restructuring being partnered with Hyatt . The personal seem to be a little reluctant with their usual service do to their future. Our usual staff still had the great smiles !

Very large rooms. Everything at the resort was very clean and lots of food choice. No trouble finding lounge chairs at the beach. We had a wonderful experience and couldn’t find anything wrong at all!

Beautiful, very clean resort. Staff constantly cleaning, landscaping, cleaning pools , great food! Staff very friendly, white sand beach can walk for miles, at least a dozen different restaurants to choose from. Extremely pleased with everything!

Beautiful hotel, grounds, and service. Staff was amazing, friendly and very attentive. Overall, very clean and great beach area. Most staff were awesome but a few went above and beyond. Antonio and Orlando guest experience, Santiago and his team at the steakhouse, Joel in the main dining and beach restaurant and Gregorio pool bar. The pool activity staff were the best. They did everything to help our son-in-law who has mobility issues. They ensured a very positive experience for him as a new traveller. The Japanese restaurant staff at the Punta Cana were great but we were disappointed we weren't sitting at the big table to watch the Chef. Overall, most restaurants had tasty food but was usually cold, especially the buffets. The Fish Market and Brazilian at the Esmeralda were the most disappointing for both food and service. Overall, a wonderful travel experience.

The hotel and food was great except my husband getting food poisoning the day we were leaving from eating a pre-made mini sandwich at the buffet. Only took15 minutes and he was vomiting and diarrhea. Took 2 days to recover. Getting up at 5.30 am to get a chair in the shade was ridiculous. People would not sit in them all morning as they spent the morning at the beach. We were told the second day by a guest that if you want to secure a chair you pay the pool guys. He said thats just the way it is.

The Ambar is a lovely hotel with wonderful staff, great beach and pool, but it's due for a refresh. This was our 3rd visit. The last time was about 10 years ago. Some of the rooms are a bit tired. Bahia Principe rep made a point of saying that a couple of the other hotels in the group had recently been refreshed and renovated; time for the Ambar to have its turn. Having said that, entertainment was great, most restaurants wonderful. Service good. Exception, and not in a good way, Maiko; it was Chaos from the hostess to dessert. Limbo and Portofino were fabulous. Do bring along some bug spray if you tend to get bitten by sand flies--my husband got a lot of bites on his legs (I have none, go figure) and they were really itchy. All in all, I would go back to this hotel but would be checking to see if the renovations were done first. Our experience with Bahia Principe has been good overall, and their upgraded app is super.

We found the hotel was very clean , the grounds were kept quite beautiful ❤️ we enjoyed our room , swim up king ... Perfect for us ! I would like it if they would improve on the food. It was ok ..not great by all means !!! But not bad. The service was hit and miss. Some staff were great and some a little rude. Shout out to Sandra who looked after us all week. Thank you for such great service. Also Horam is a complete gentleman he was there for us whenever we had questions or reservations. We will definitely go back !

Resort had great food and amenities. Beaches are very nice and a great place for most people. Disappointed with the noise at night and the party atmosphere which wasn’t for everyone, especially when you have a nice swim out near the pool and it was too loud during the day and a few nights to sit outside and enjoy due to the music. The music choice was fine but volume was like a March break atmosphere. Not for us but everything else eas great

We loved our stay at the Bahia Principe Ambar. The beach was the highlight for me - miles of gorgeous smooth sand that we walked for hours on end. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pool is beautiful and a very comfortable temperature. Although the resort was "at capacity", there were always loungers available at the pool and the beach. The rooms are huge and beautiful. Open bathroom/shower concept so just be forewarned if that's not your thing. Our young adult kids (male and female) were sharing a room and that took a bit of scheduling for privacy. The restaurants were beautiful and the food was pretty good. The main buffet was very plentiful and if you don't love eating from communal supplies, there was always menu items you could get made to order - eggs, fish, pasta, etc.

We are so pleased we chose to book an early Christmas vacation to Bahia Principe Luxary Ambar Punta Cana on Dec. 14th with Air Canada. It was everything we hoped for plus more. Decorations were impeccible. The attention, friendliness and knowledge of staff were unforgettable. The main buffet and La Brisa was always well stocked with delicious options. Our housekeeper Sobeida was very attentive to our needs and always added that extra touch. A huge shoutout to the hardworking pool bar staff especially Bianca and Marlene. Recreation staff and Trolley drivers are special people who truly give that extra touch. We plan to return in March. Counting down the days.

The trip was great and the staff was so friendly and helpful and we will definitely be going back. Bahai Príncipe Luxury Ámbar In Punta Cana.i was so impressed I am taking my sister and niece there in April 2026.

The resort was beautiful but most nights were disrupted sleep because of screaming feral cats. We also experienced a Cockroach in room the last day :/. The outlet in out bathroom had burn marks on it and the blow dryer wouldn’t work in it.

The resort was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so kind. We were a very large group and the resort accommodated us the entire time. We were also celebrating multiple occasions and they made sure to celebrate us and make the entire experience extremely special

Food not great - service not great - cleanliness not great - restaurant experience not great -overall not great - I have nothing really good to say about this resort.i would not recommend as an adults resort with all restaurants being a very bad experience.

This was our 6th visit to the Luxury Ambar Bahia and it never fails to impress us. It is a very well staffed resort with a good selection of a la carte restaurants and a pretty diverse buffet. For those with mobility challenges there is a wooden walkway to the beach, some wooden decks and access to a special wheelchair that can be wheeled into the ocean. We had a swim-up room that was bordered by shrubs and huge tropical plants that blocked us from view (mostly) This is one of least expensive 5 star resorts in Punta Cana but I still feel it deserves a 5 star rating. It is very well cared for. There were a few staff members that enhanced out experience with the friendly personalities and efficient service: Dosalina at the lobby bar, Yasmenia serving on the beach and Fanny, our excellent maid.. Also wish to give a shout out to Trip Central as I love the vacation grid which makes it easy to compare dates, prices and all-inclusive resorts.

The hotel in general was ok. The grounds were really good, the room was also in good shape but the walls were in need of a paint job, the staff were really professionals and very helpful, the entertainment during the day by the main pool was great as for the food buffet last January it was a lot better than this time (November 2025) as for A La Carte restaurants they were very good.

We loved the hotel. The room and grounds were immaculate. Both the pool and beach exceeded our expectations. As well the service and food at all the ala cartes was outstanding. We preferred the buffet at the beach to the main buffet. The only downside to our experience was the bar service at the pool. In one week we were never approached or asked if we would like anything. While we do not mind getting our own drinks and we are good tippers this was very disappointing.

This is my second trip to Bahia Principe. Last winter we stayed at the Esmeralda luxury and this October we stayed at the Ambar adults only. Service was great. Food was great. The grounds were beautiful and clean. The only hiccough I have to say about this Hotel was the staff half of them or even more than half or not very friendly or smiling. The few that were very smiling. I took the time to tell them in Spanish that they were doing a great job and smiling and being happy it goes a long way. I’m sorry I can’t remember the names of the few that were smiling, but I do think they need to work on that point. The beach was nice.

Food was wonderful and there were a decent amount of vegetarian options. Rooms and bathrooms were clean always, which was really nice. Downside was there wasn’t drink service at the beach or pool, so we just had to make extra steps when we wanted drinks. Also, there was a constant stream of people trying to sell you things on the beach. Overall, it was a wonderful trip

There was some positives and not so postives. The grounds were well kept, our room (corner swim up) was spacious and clean. We enjoyed our afternoon swims. We are not foodies, but precooked our food ahead of time, with the dinner slots that fit our needs. We really enjoyed M.E.A.T and Limbo..the other ones were good, but those two were our favourites. The beach was crowded, so to find a shaded area was impossible..even if nobody showed up for hours…a little disappointed, so we did not spend to long there, as it got very hot. The vendors on the beach could sometimes be a little pesky, but you get it everywhere. I did not use the big pool, as I enjoyed our swim up. The negatives… Some staff were not so friendly, drinks were very strong and lots of bugs, a lot of loud Spanish music blaring throughout the day..seemed to play the same music..if you are not a cat person, might want to stay clear…lots of them..we had 7 on our deck, one morning. Overall, a nice resort…

This resort was beautiful! The rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds were well maintained. The pool was beautiful, although crowded at times and availble lounges were difficult to find. The staff was very efficient, the variety and quality of drinks was excellent . There was a great choice of restaurants and most of the food was great.

Recently spent 5 days in Dominican at the Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. Honestly I have really nothing bad to say about our stay. The food was fantastic with lots of options, we got a massage which was great and we had a private dinner on the beach which was very personal and romantic. The adults pool was a bit quiet during the day. Unless something was going on there was no music so we just started bringing our own speaker. The compound is massive, we barely saw any of it. I would have liked to do more of that but honestly we didnt have a reason to. Yurta was one of the best restaurants to eat at. But honestly even the buffet is pretty rockin' The hotel mini fridge can be stocked as much as you want but if you plan to do any drinking in your room it may be easier to just grab a bottle of duty free on your way in.

We had a amazing stay everything was wonderful pool grounds food room(upgraded to pool room fantastic) staff was amazing entertainment staff was awesome beach was well taken care of walked it every morning The butler we had went above and beyond for my daughter’s 30 birthday and made it a birthday to remember No complaints here will return

We were at the on site vendors and they over charged me for a wooden statue by $600.00 no prices on any of the items and the prices change on a minute by minute basis. Will not go back there again. Lost all respect for this resort by not ensuring there on site vendors are capable of running a business properly. Now I am trying to get back some of my money. This wooden statue is only valued at $70.00 U. S.

Loved his resort! Everything was amazing - great staff, great choice of food at the buffet, great à la carte restaurants. Our room had our own private pool - what’s not to like? Would definitely go back!

This resort is overpriced; it is not a luxury resort. The 1st room shown smells really bad, 2nd room shown smelt very old, couldn't sleep 1st night. Complained and Mgr. gave us a room where there was no smell. Bed is very uncomfortable. Food is not bad in the buffet. We tried the Italian and Limbo restaurant, definitely not gourmet. Entertainment not good at this resort.

Hotel was great. Limbo, MEAT, YURTI, FISH MARKET, PORTAFINO restaurants were excellant. Mashua service was terrible. Greek restaurant soso. The beach was terrible too much seaweed and had a bad smell. There was 1 afternoon when the beach was good.

This resort was 5 stars all round, the food, beach, pool, the staff were amazing. This resort was very clean, staff worked all day keeping it clean. The food was excellent, la carte or buffet always fresh and good.

Visited the Luxury Ambar May 3, 2025 to May 10, 2025. Had a group of 13 for 50th birthday celebrations and had a corner swim up. We had an absolute blast. The staff was amazing and went well over my expectations with their service. We were luck to get a room dead center of the resort and had very short walks to the pool/beach area and to the lobby. For what we needed and wanted this resort came through and created fantastic memories. We will be coming back again!! 10 of 10 in my books.

Our annual girls trip spent at the Luxury Ambar! Check in was easy. Our rooms were ready, which was welcomed especially after a long travel day. The reservation desk was very accommodating, given there were four of us travelling, we requested the same building and rooms close to each other, which they were happy to assist with, other resorts that we've stayed at not so much! The rooms were spacious and clean! The grounds were lush and clean. The pool was great lots of seating available, including umbrellas, which was awesome. Daily activities by the pool were great. Our server Desiree was amazing always checking in to make sure we were well taken care of and hydrated. Yes we even had water once in a while.? The dinner reservations were a bit of challenge, Diana at the front desk was extremely helpful and made our reservations for us. The restaurants were good, the only criticism I would have is the food was lukewarm and not as hot as we would have liked. The buffets were great always more than enough for breakfast and lunch and ample food options. Raphe was our server at lunch everyday, he is amazing! Always greeted us with smile and made us feel so special, he was just as sad as we were on our last day. The entertainment in the lobby bar in the evenings was wonderful, from singers to karaoke we enjoyed them all. There were themed parties by the pool that catered to the younger crowd, so there is something for everyone! Thank you DR we had an amazing time!

Great resort with great people! Good food, generous portions, clean rooms and facilities. Staff are very kind and want to ensure you have a great experience in the resort. Somewhat of a language barrier with the staff at times, but nothing that can’t be managed with some basic knowledge of Spanish words and saying, which is easy to come by at a resort this size.

Bahia Principe has never been a bad choice, navigating the web site can be an issue its a little outdated. food and rooms always nice and staff wonderfully helpful. the resort in Mexico, the Akumal should be updated but still very nice. and Jenn Black, at Trip Central has been an awesome advisor

This was my 4th visit at Ambar and have noticed that the pool area does need an update and more umbrellas are for sure needed around the pool. I truly wish that the staff would enforced the do not reserve a chair rule as many were left empty for a major part of the day. The rooms are in really good condition, very spacious and the service is excellent in all areas of the resort. Daritza at the coffee, Desiree and Marlene at the pool, Michellie and Miguelina in the lobby bar. Service is very quick at all bars and same at the coffee shop. Truly outstanding service all over the resort.

This was our first tome at this resort but will not be our last. The resort was a great place. Everything was clean and well kept, the service from the staff is amazing, food was amazing and the beach and pools were great. This was not an overly party resort which we liked. If I HAD to nitpick the only complaint was that some of the buffet food was not labeled. Aside from that everything was really great

The Bahia Principe Ambar is a beautiful property, with lush landscaping and many amenities including a Gym and Spa.The rooms are modern and very clean. The dining options are numerous, International A La Carte Restaurants and The Palymra Buffet which offers a different theme of cuisine every night. The one thing that sets this resort apart is the Professional Entertainment they offer every day of the week. Looking forward to returning in 2026.

Resort: overall 4.5/5 and we would stay again! Location: only half an hour from the airport so that was a bonus! Grounds: beautiful; very well maintained; no garbage anywhere Pool: one large pool (but can visit others around the resort); water was warm; service great at the pool bar Beach: only visited once; got bad sand flea bites on the first day and did not return Food: breakfast = always delicious; lunch = also always good; dinner = mostly tasty (still enjoyed the food overall; but some a la carte restaurants were not as good) Drinks: enjoyed the selection; great drinks and could always find something we liked Service: excellent everywhere we went; staff was friendly Rooms: got a corner suite; loved the bigger room; bed comfortable; everything was nice

overall the resort was great. The only downside was that you paid for premium and were told that you could go to all others hotel bars and restaurants but then they wanted you to pay extra for the things that should have been included. That makes no sense. If a drink is included at your hotel it should be included at all the hotels. People were very nice and helpful, the rooms were clean and the entertainment was good. The restaurants were all booked and not easy to get reservations

This hotel does afford the vacationer a wonderful experience with well groomed grounds,lovely rooms, very good food and a nice environment. My only complaint is the NOISE and it made it such that I would not go back unless I was assured that the loud music would not go on past 7:00pm.There were 3 nights that it was so bad that it vibrated the walls until 11:00. I will come back IF the music problem is solved . It is not what what I Signed up for.

The resort and our accommodations were lovely. The staff were friendly, very accommodating, and we certainly had no complaints about our private room and pool. BUT WHAT GOOD IS A PRIVATE ROOM WITH NON STOP LOUD MUSIC. THIS IS BILLED AS ALL ADULT, BUT 18 YEARS is JUST A NUMBER. WE ARE 75 and 80 and looked forward to a quiet and relaxing time. BLARING MUSIC AT THE POOL, COUPLED WITH BLARING MUSIC HEARD IN OUR ROOM UNTIL 11:00 PM. WAS NOT WHAT WE SIGNED UP FOR, NOR EXPECTED. WE WERE DISGUSTED! PERFECT PLACE TO SIGN UP FOR FUTURE HEARING AIDES. IF WE WERE ASSURED OF THE MUSIC VENUE BEING RELOCATED, WE WOULD RETURN. APPARENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPLAINT. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF THE ENVIRONMENT IS REVAMPED TO ADDRESS MY COMPLAINTS. WE DO NOT WANT TO RETURN UNDER FALSE ASSURANCES. PLEASE ANSWER MY REVIEW. RESPECTFULLY SUBMITTED BY JUDITH BRADY.

The Ambar is beautiful resort! The grounds are meticulously maintained. The pool is crystal clear and the beach is easily accessed. The rooms are very clean with all the amenities you would expect. The buffet andvthe A la Carte's are excellent. And the sraff are all wonderful, pleasant and hard working. And of course, Nicole Deforest from tripcentral.ca was a pleasure to book with! I would gladly return.

We love this resort .. our second time. fabulous ! service was great, very clean, staff so friendly and work so hard. Wish there was more shade but the staff were very helpful to find some. The beach and ocean water were the best ever!

Better than average resort, stuff is nice and polite, needs some maintenance around room amenities, but not yet outdated. Overall great experience, been there twice, as I said not quite luxury, for the price. Room TV reception is terrible and outdated.

We are repeat clients of this resort. We find the grounds are lush and well maintained. The rooms are great and provide everything you need. Foods is always good and the staff are carefully curated and are all accommodating and friendly. We have always felt very safe here. We are hoping to return in the future to this special place

Our room was near the pool so amazing views. Riom was dated but we still liked it. The sliding doors had little gaps so we had to stuff toilet paper in as there were alot of mosquitoes. Our group of 6 had alot of bites, and beach had alot of sand pleas. Meals were disappointing actually, best was Japanese.

Once again everything was wonderful, rooms are getting run down but always clean The people are amazing! Though if one staff member doesn’t support a request another will, 95% of staff are fantastic! Still a race for lounges around pool and beach and lack of umbrellas oh ya!! But we’re happiest there and will come back 8th time !! Cheers

Overall, the resort was nice, clean and organized. The grounds are well kept. The swim-up pool in our room was amazing (and made for some fun pool parties!). With a group of 16 of us, we were always on the go. We attended many evening functions (silent disco, live bands, karaoke, etc) which were ok and fun...not over the top. Overall, the food was a disappointment. We even had one a'la carte dinner that we got up and walked out of part way through our main course. Service was horrible and the food inedible. The buffets were inconsistent. We did like the beach BBQ and the Paella on the grill! Bar service was good from the bar, but the pool service was slow (up to 45 mins to get a drink to your chair). The main pool was huge and the swim up bar busy, but there were several "oil slicks" of grunge floating around most of the days. Kinda gross. This was our first "5 star" resort experience and we left somewhat disappointed. We'll probably go back to cruising!

This hotel was amazing! The rooms were awesome and the swim up was very relaxing. Friendly staff and very accommodating. The Entertainment Team was incredible.The food was excellent at the buffets and the ALaCarts were very good! The only thing i would complain about would be the lack of lounge chairs available around the pool. People get up early and clip towels on the chairs snd leave them there all day! That was more than frustrating!!!

We just returned from the Luxury Ambar, this was our sixth visit. We are always pleased with the resort but it's the staff that makes it memorable. The entertainment crew are always planning fun things for all ages. Everyone makes you feel welcome. A special shout out to our sisters at the lobby bar, Anyeli and Diocelina we can't wait to see you next year ?

We had to move rooms 2 times due to issue, our friends also had to move rooms once. Last year we went to the Aquamrine this year we upgraded to the Ambar thinking it would be better and a true 5 star experience. In hindsight it was not worth the extra $$ we paid. Stick with Aquamarine. Overall buffet food was ok. Al la cart resturaunts were great - Limbo, MEAT, Portofino, Rodizio all were excellent. Entertainment was pretty good, grounds were nice. We would go back for the right price, but to the Aquamarine. Note to management: last year we saw 2 cats on the grounds this year +15. I hope humane steps are being done to manage this they should be spade our neutered now before the cat population gets out of control. We love to see a few cats around the grounds, but we don't want to see 100 starving cats next year.

The staff were incredibly amazing. We had Natalia taking care of our room all week. She was fantastic. Natalia was thorough in taking care of the room and also with taking care of our needs. The entire staff at this resort is amazing right from check-in to our concierge the servers and the restaurants I could go on and on about how fabulous the service is in this resort. It may be the cleanest place I’ve ever seen. The staff made our trip wonderful. The room was fantastic. The food was amazing everywhere there is nothing I could say bad about this resort. Thank you to Natalia, especially for taking such good care of us and Watson who was the most amazing and attentive concierge.

The resort grounds, beach and pool were all outstanding. Ambar guests have access to everything at all resorts, except their buffets. Food was very good. Staff keep beach and pool clean. Beds were a bit uncomfortable.

The Resort is Beautiful with the Grounds kept immaculate. Wonderful Beach, Great Pools, Great Service and Friendly Staff always willing to help out if you need anything.Hardworking Staff. Excellent Coffee Shop to grab your morning coffee or Latte.

I would highly recommend the Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar. The resort and the grounds are beautiful. The staff at the resort very helpful and friendly. If you had a concern the would rectify the problem . The beach goes forever. It is kept very clean. Just a gorgeous place to stay and would go back in a heartbeat. The room was clean and spacious. The a la carte restaurants served various and delicious meals with such magnificent presentation and terrific service. There were always workers cleaning and landscaping and the grounds showed their results. The entertainment team worked their butts off and made everyone feel included. Lots of activities to get involved in. The shows were varied and interesting. The bars and drinks were plentiful and great. The pool was huge and never had any problem with space to swim. The beach....can't say enough....so clean and the sand was gorgeous. Would definitely recommend Luxury Ambar.

Luxury Amber is really all inclusive what ever your hart desires. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Hotel grounds is well maintained, lush, close to the ocean, all around ambient feeling. Daily a 'la dinners with a choice of abondance of buffet service would satisfy all the needs of taste buds and cocktails, drinks and cappuccinos all day long - excellent design and executions. Nothing more to add. Hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.

This was our second time staying at the resort in 2024. Pros: *Beautiful resort with a beautiful beach *Clean *A variety of restaurants throughout the properties with various cuisines. We enjoyed Yurta, Dominican, Asian Fusion and Meats Restaurant staff are very friendly *Building 64 and 67 (not the service road side) are ideal for beach, pool, and smaller breakfast and lunch buffets (i.e. limited variety) Cons: *No cold water in our room during our 9 day stay. We were told it was a third floor issue as the pump wasn't strong enough. Shower was unbearable. Couldn't wait to get home to shower. *Toilet in our room did not flush at times (no cold water). This was crazy. We had to use the lobby several times (5 minute walk). *No communication re. any water issues. *Restaurants - Fish Market and the Brazilian. The Fish Market lacks staff and service. Brazilian had a great ambiance, but food is subpar. *There are a lot of cats on the property. There have been new litters since we were last here. *Bring heavy strength bug spray and afterbite, i.e. Deep Woods or Muskol. The bugs come out after dinner and attack the ankles and legs.

This resort was so clean! Rooms were spacious and close to the beach, which wasn’t overcrowded. Many options for restaurant dining, the food was good and presented nicely. Entertainment included live bands by the pool and a beach party on our last night. What an amazing trip!

Second time at this resort. The food at the a la carte restaurants, the coffee at the Cafe was really good especially the Mongolian restaurant! The service from the beach server, the servers at the buffet restaurant and the omelet cooks, the butler at the villa, the hotel staff at the lobby ...all were so attentive and made sure we were looked after. There were 8 of us, we had an amazing time. The beach is literally right there. Enjoyed my vacation!

Beautiful renovated rooms. Great swim ups.The restaurants at the Amber were amazing. The beach was perfect. The pool was entertaining. Only complaint is not enough up beat music. Most times the music in the lobby was recorded replayed put me to sleep music. Needs more excitement in the Amber.

- The grounds are well maintained and look lovely and the public areas were quite good. Unfortunately this resort was promoted to us as a "luxury" hotel. It definitely was not and this was quite disappointing. - The rooms are okay although I had to point out to the housekeeping staff a spot on the bedspread which was obviously not noticed by their staff. It was finally removed and not replaced for the rest of our stay. Other than that, the housekeeping staff was very attentive and provided us with really good service. The rooms again were adequate but not of "luxury" standard. - The dining staff were very welcoming and attentive but the food at the restaurants was lacking variety and pretty much the same fare every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A bit disappointing as we had stayed at the Bahai Principe Punta Cana many years ago and the food was fabulous. We had no complaints when we had stayed there many years ago. - The entertainment could be improved as their shows usually lasted 30 minutes and the staff was introduced as a group and not by individual names which would have been nice and more personal. It was noticed that in the pool area the entertainment staff were not interactive with most of the guests and pool activities were not generally announced very loudly to involve most people by the pool. Announcements were mainly in Spanish and a bit of English which was usually missed in translation and hard to hear when any activity was starting. Again the Bahai Principe Punta Canada provided more entertainment and made sure the guests were aware of their activities. Part of this issue is due to everybody using their APP which at times was not accessible when the WiFi system was down. - There was sometimes a language barrier where some of the reception staff and even the staff asking for guest experience feedback could not understand what guests were trying to say. - The Air Transat representative at the resort (Emmanuel) needs to have better customer service with the guests when they require his services. He was a bit rude, not only to us but to other guests (confirmed by others), when trying to find out what options we had when there was the over 6-hour flight delay on May 23rd. He was not helpful at all. Having dealt with other representatives (eg, Sunwing, Air Canada), this was the first time we have ever experienced such poor customer service. - re Value for Money - We would say fair as this resort was promoted a "luxury" hotel and it was not. If we had gone thinking it was just a resort and not a luxury resort, then it would have been good value for the money.

Room was fantastic! Always clean. Staff was very nice and always helpful. Restaurants/food was great will a lot of variety!! Activities were great. Night life was awesome will great entertainers! Already planning to go back!

This was my first time at a resort down south. It was also my first time visiting somewhere that is truly a different culture, food, and experience. Please keep in mind that their milk is not pasteurized, or homogenized. They use a third method more suitable to the tropics. This means that you can't get a good cup of tea. The creamy part of the milk is whipped and the whole thing is heated. The first time I asked for milk with my tea the waiter looked shocked. He brought a teapot full of hot, whipped milk with a touch of coffee added. Then, I looked shocked. The food was amazing, the Ala carte restaurants were even more impressive. The beach, pool, and the grounds were all amazing. While most of the staff were great and tried—even with the language difference to be helpful, a few took advantage of that fact to just coast in their jobs. Is it a deal killer? No. The room was spacious, and well-appointed except for the missing wall in the bathroom. Do not expect to get facecloths, so bring your own. It is so hot, and humid there that our room had a musty undertone most of the time.

This resort is very upscale and well maintained. The food, drinks, rooms, beach, pool, entertainment and service is amazing. We had a swim up room and loved it. Will definitely return to the Ambar.

This was our third time at this resort and we enjoyed it as we did the first time we came. Food was great, bars were excellent especially Limbo and the staff and servers were wonderful. Looking forward to returning again.

At the pool/beach buffet Maura and Ingrid work. They are the sweetest and most efficient servers we have met. Remembering what we drank every morning, making us feel very special, and always smiling. The Ambar should be very proud to have them on their staff as they are exceptionally hard working ladies

We had a swim out highly recommend it. The rooms were very clean had no issues. The concierge/Butler went above and beyond as well as the beach, staff pool staff, and the restaurant staff they were always working so hard to make sure you were well looked after. The only negative thing that I would have to say is about towels on the chair around the pool and beach. We’re always taken no matter what time you’ve seem to get up. There does not seem to be a rule about no towels before a certain hour not to mention no caution tape around the chairs!!!

Rooms ammenties were totally subpar. Beds rock hard, TVs totally unwatchable and AC controll did not work. Alacarte restaurants food was subar or awful. But the hotel servant staff was very accommodating and kind.

We went with a group of friends and we had a fantastic time. The restaurants, amenities and the staff were amazing!! Thank you for a great experience! I have to say that you need to book the AlaCarte restaurants ahead of time to make sure you get to eat dinner before 9:00pm :)

This was my 2nd visit to Ambar and it was even better than the 1st. The grounds are beautiful and so well maintained, the food is delicious, the staff are amazing and they all work so hard. The main pool is so much fun and the beach is beautiful. The only issue i have had both times is there is not enough loungers (or selfish people are holding extra ones) and not enough huts for shade on the beach. Could also use some better wines such as a pinot grigio but there was plenty to drink. I will be back again next year :)

Beautiful facility; huge. Lots of a la carte restaurant choices plus buffet restaurants. One of best beaches you will find anywhere. One drawback is that if you are a beach person there is a shortage of covered shade. You need to secure one with your towels before dawn!

Bahia Principe Ambar wowed us right away from the lobby straight down the pathway to the rooms, the pool and the beach. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and so clean. The pool is amazing with its waterfalls and swim up bar and awesome entertainment crew. The beach is perfect for a long walk and the ocean is perfect for swimming when you want to enjoy some waves and a little time away from the pool.

The resort was beautiful, very clean and well maintained. The a la carte restaurants were fantastic. The food overall was very good in the Buffett. The beach was nice. Lots of chairs. The pool area was large and never seemed crowded.

We had a great vacation at this resort. The resort offered something for everyone. We loved the restaurants as Ambar and Esmeralda. Beach was beautiful and lots of chairs available for everyone. Loved the bars especially Limbo bar. Thank you to all the staff that provided such great service especially the bar tenders at Limbo. Looking forward to our next vacation at this resort. Also want to thank our travel advisor Louise Endean. She is wonderful and provided us with excellent service. Always responded to our questions in a timely manner. Provided us with information for our excursions, hotel transfers, and all documents required to enter and exit the DR. I have zero complaints about this resort! The food was absolutely phenomenal The grounds, room, pool and beach were so beautiful and clean. It didn’t feel like a crowded resort. Will definitely go back!

We have been to this resort many times and we were not disappointed. This year we went later than usual and because of the timing there were a lot of young people due to US student break week. We like the Ala carte restaurant variety. The Dominican people are very gentle and happy people which makes it so enjoyable.
