Disappointing
There was black mold on our bathroom ceiling and I ended up with bacterial pneumonia hospitalized for 3 days which the doctor at the hospital said it could certainly be caused by mold They switched our room. The new room had a faulty electrical outlet. Theywere supposed to fix it but never returned. They put a huge cable outlet running across the room which could have ended up with one of us tripping. We got locked out of our room for 2 1/2 hours because of the faulty lock. No compensation given us whatsoever

Not luxury at all
This hotel is simply the worst I’ve experienced. Very short staffed , bad food and management ! The closed restaurants and canceled reservations because they’re under staffed . Checking in took over an hour because they only have one person working the front desk ! They sell you on upgrading to diamond luxury club which is absolutely useless and waste of money They give you a butler that can’t do anything because the hotel can’t simply provide you with nothing ! We informed them that we’re celebrating my birthday and anniversary and nothing was acknowledged! It is by far the worst experience and wasted money at this resort

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
Unfortunately we had a very bad experience at the Roylton Chic. Staffing - while some staff were great, shoutout to Raul, a great deal were not friendly. It was like we were bothering them. Food - this was a great disappointment. First dinner steakhouse, my wife had the Chicken brochette. Chicken pieces were so overcooked you could not eat it. Next morning we had a pickup at 9:30 to play golf. Went to the Diamond club for breakfast. Arrived at 8:45, ordered breakfast right away. Did not arrive and had to leave at 9:25 to catch our taxi. There was only one waitress serving the entire restaurant. Next night in the Italian, I ordered what was described as a variety of fresh fish. It was deep fried group of fish pieces that were so over cooked that tasted terrible. Then we had lunch at the beach restaurant. We ordered chicken wings, taco salad and a Caesar salad. The chicken wings sat under the warming lights for 30 minutes waiting for the salads. We had to ask the waiter what was the delay. He advised the cook was new and learning. Then we watched the cook and waiter use their bare hands to prepare the salads. We decided at that point to the leave the resort. We met with the Sunwing representative on sighr to file a formal complaint. That person Dubby was very good and assisted us wanting to know all the issues. We them met with the manager of the property to review our issues. We made arrangements to move to another resort. In 35 years of travelling, we have never left a resort due to issues. Sunning refunded us for the days we were on at the Royalton Chic but lost a full day of our vacation moving to the other resort. T

Worst experience ever!!
First time in my may may years of travel have I ever left a resort early. The noice from the pool and the construction/repairs was unbearable. Always being approached to buy spa packages from different employees. The food was terrible, always dry and overcooked. Service was non existent in many cases. Second day waited 45 minutes for our breakfast and finally had to leave as we were golfing. The final straw was when I watched my server reach over the kitchen counter and pick up all the ingredients for my salad with his bare hands and then watched the cook making the food ungloved and not washing hands- totally unacceptable! We moved to another resort after that. Sunwing did reimburse for the 4 nights, but did loose a day of vacation having to pack up and move.

Great for the price
We thought I was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and energetic. We enjoyed how close the pool and restaurants were to our room. Seating at both the beach and pool was limited after 9 am.

Amazing travel agent and resort
The resort was well laid out, everything was clean, and the restaurants and the food were great! They had a wonderful little coffee shop and their barista was exceptional and very friendly. The pools were very clean and all the bar staff were courteous and fast. We had a larger group and they accommodated us with our dinner reservations.

Great resort
Clean, right on the ocean, surf was rough with yellow flag most days. Great staff. Food was excellent. Pools nice, grounds beautiful. Option to upgrade but did not do so- not necessary for us. Did not go on any excursions.

Nice but not at the standard of the Royalton Brand
Stayed at many Royalton hotels and this specific location definitely is in need of an upgrade and refresh The hotel rooms were sub-standard - mold in the washrooms and very dated look and feel. For some reason there is a window in the shower that directly faces the bed - very strange. The lobby, pool area, walk areas, all had chipped stones, and or broken tiles. The electrical in some places were just extension cords throughout. The AV for the day, was sub standard, and most times, during events, the music would cut out, or not work. The pool absolutely did NOT have enough seating areas. We had to get up at 6:30am just to make sure there was a chair for the day. It is all inclusive, however the small cabanas were $50US to rent - so they were empty and yet there was no place to sit. People were taking other peoples chairs and umbrellas. At one point, they also ran out of towels. The pool was also not very clean and every day, since there was wind, one of the small pools was completely covered in sand. Public washrooms, were clean, but sometimes, ran out of T-paper, and the stall door handles were either "hanging-on" or broken off. The restaraunts, there are four BUT only two on a given night were open, so was very hard to book to eat since the reservations were already booked up. The cafeteria, was the only option for eating. It was good, but every day, breakfast, lunch and dinner - you get very bored with eating and what is available. Would have been nice to be able to dress up for a nice dinner. Gift shop is very expensive. If you need sunscreen, the min price is between 29-49US for a bottle. On a positive, the people were nice and friendly. Others, were a little desparate for tips.

We travelled to Royalton chic 25 th of February to March 4th, 2026. Overall good resort in the beginning, foods not good at all. I had only pasta and pizza during my stay there as their food wasn’t good. Room looked like clean but last day we realized my husband having some rashes on his skin. We thought it’s like allergies or reactions to something. We we returned to Canada and my husband didn’t feel well, he had visit with his family doctor and he said it’s be bugs bites. I’m so freaking out because if just one of them was in our clothes or luggage will mess up our life. If it happens I will sue them. I do not recommend this resort at all.

The hotel is not truly a 5-star property. The main issue was the food—it was often not fresh, sometimes overly salty, and frequently served cold. It felt as though some of the meals had been prepared the day before. The bathroom and shower were also quite old and had a damp smell. The entertainment was okay, and the hotel itself was calm and quiet, which made it good for relaxation. The pool was definitely the best part of the stay. Overall, it was a decent experience, but it did not feel like a true 5-star hotel.

Great Vacation
Spent a fabulous week at the Royalton Chic, Punta Cana. Lovely resort with well kept grounds, modern clean rooms with a comfortable bed and amazing shower, and very friendly staff. The food was top notch, with abundant variety and flavour included at the buffet and and specialty restaurants. The coffee shop became a daily stop for us offering a variety of muffins, fruits, sandwiches and ice cream as well as tasty coffee all served by a very friendly and lively young lady. The large pool was refreshing and the Vibe team encouraged participation in many fun activities. We especially enjoyed the Aqua Fit and Aqua Cycling. The nightly shows were entertaining. Our only recommendation would be to post the daily activities and times in a central location for guests to see.

Resort is ok
The Jr. Suites are small, including the toilet area & shower, if you are a bigger person you will find the toilet room too small and challenging to enter/exit. If you upgrade to better rooms or even diamond club the experience is completely different (we had people in our group that were diamond club). The service at the restaurants is terrible, they were disorganized and it became quite frustrating. There were many times that we were not provided tea during meal (coffee was easy to receive) which was requested when we sat down. It was difficult to get glasses for water & then getting them refilled, when you asked staff for a drink they seemed to forget about your request. I didn't see a supervisor or manager on the floor to ensure proper flow of staff to manage client needs. The resort was not full which made the lack of service surprising. Unfortunately the service at the a la carte restaurants was not any better. Cleaning of the rooms daily didn't always occur which was odd, we had to address this multiple times, we had a large group and other people in different buildings experienced the same situation. Bar service was good & the drinks, the food was good. Service at the Cafe was the absolute best! Entertainment at night was fantastic. We won't return to this resort due to the service, it is surprising how much this negatively impacted our stay. There were people in our group that had been to this resort three times and will not return.

Excellent Food
I guess it’s real 5 star. Excellent food and service. All I can point out is responsibility on the part of the service staff. A few things as under:- 1. The used drink glasses/ tumblers kept lying on the poolside and in the centre where we see a tree. 2. Towels and plates left at the beach, not picked up and returned by guests by evening continued lying there. This limits availability of beach chairs for the next day morning.3. Pools not cleaned every day

Disappointed
Basic room, expected room to be more luxurious. Toilet flush was very loud. No bathrobe. TV did not work. Fan made a lot of noise. Cupboards and drawers for clothes did not close properly. On several occasions found that the patio door was unlocked when I know we left it locked every time we exited the room. Resort under construction ... not all restaurants were open. One of the couches in the seating area near the "Hunter" restaurant had a pipe of 2-3 inches in height sticking out under the cushion, I sat on this seat not knowing what was under the cushion and received an injury to my backside. Not very pleasant. I have pictures of this pipe. The next day someone had cut it ... not removed it! Very few working umbrellas in the pool area. Loungers in the pool and beach area were old and worn, some broken. Ladies public toilet near the pool area has two stalls, one had no toilet seat. Tried to recharge my phone in the lobby area ... tried 4 different outlets before I found one that worked. Resort needs upgrades everywhere!

Royalton chic - disappointed
first room we checked into was old, fridge full of rust, room was run down. We asked a room change and got a newer, updated room. Next, the resort was not cleaned or maintained as it should be. Garbage floating in pool, staff not caring as much as they should overall. Food was OK. Our return flight was delayed so we got transferred to the Dreams CapCana for 2 nights and it was a beautiful resort- newer, very clean, big spacious rooms and huge buffet. I should of stayed here.

Great Resort
I was pleasantly surprised by our stay at this resort. The grounds were beautifully maintained and clean including the beach which was raked every morning with a tractor. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The service was amazing, from the cooks at the buffet to the servers in the restaurants to the bartenders and waitresses, all were pleasant, polite and truly made our stay fantastic. The food was also very good, a good selection at the buffet everyday from breakfast to supper. We ate at 4 a la carte restaurants and all were great, with our favourite being the Italian followed by the Indian. The entertainment in the lobby every night was also good and our gang had fun dancing and watching the performances. If anything could be improved, I would suggest more beach chairs at the beach they were sometimes hard to find because people get up at the crack of dawn and reserve them with their towels. We were an older group of travellers whose ages were 50-late 60’s and everyone enjoyed themselves.

Nice resort
Landscape and lobby were nice, gym was just what we needed, lots of classes and activities to keep people busy, beach was nice, buffet and restaurants were good, but the individual rooms were needing some big time love. You can't put a pink light under the bed and ignore paint on the floors, messy paint jobs, drain covers missing, hair on the floor, dirty walls, etc. Wouldn't take much to make it great without having to pay for a swim out or diamond club. Music could be a little more tropical than hip hop in the sports bar at night. Really lovely and helpful staff though. We paid $2745 pp from Calgary and we definitely overpaid. I'd say $2200 pp max.

Love it or Not!
The good: Resturant selection and food was great. Rooms were well laid out and kept spotless. Customer service is over the top and everyone is friendly. The Bad: Not enough chairs on the beach or around the pool for the number of guests and people come out very early to put a towel on chairs as a reservation. The music at the pool seems to be from a pre-recorded track with little variation from day to day, by day 3 you need to find somewhere else to go away from the noise. The liquor is closer to bottom shelf unless you pay for an upgrade. The floors are slippery when wet which happens quite often, people were falling down, be very careful. The Ugly; Upgrades, Time Shares, Vendors on the beach, everywhere you go someone seems to want to sell you something.

Royalton (not so) Chic
We are a group of men who have been enjoying an annual guys' trip for the past 25 years. Over the years, we've visited Punta Cana multiple times, but this was our first stay at Royalton Chic. Typically, we take online reviews with a grain of salt, dismissing minor complaints. However, after our experience at your resort, we felt compelled to share our thoughts in the hopes that constructive feedback will help improve future guests' stays. Areas for Improvement: Sanitation Concerns: Many public bathrooms lacked hand soap, which is a significant hygiene issue, especially since guests handle food at the buffet. Also, we also observed bar staff quickly rinsing dirty drinkware without soap. Limited Amenities: There were not enough chairs or umbrellas around the pools and the beach, and the absence of towel cards allowed guests to hoard chairs unnecessarily. Infrastructure: Broken and missing tiles, crumbling areas, and dated furniture detracted from the resort's overall appearance. In our room, the closet doors had to be removed to access the closet. Basic Room Essentials: Bathroom tissues were scarce, bottled water and beer replenishment in the room took four days and 15 requests, and it took an entire week to get batteries for the TV remote. Activities and Entertainment: The lack of water sports, minimal nightlife, and limited activities left us with little to do on-site. Guests even had to clean up the volleyball court themselves to play safely. Dining: While the à la carte restaurants were enjoyable, the buffet was repetitive and lacked variety. What We Enjoyed: Friendly Staff: Your staff’s hospitality was exceptional, and we’d like to give special recognition to Maribi in the coffee bar, Alexandra at the buffet, and Pedro at the bar near the Indian restaurant. They were consistently friendly and attentive, which greatly enhanced our experience. À la Carte Dining: The food in the specialty restaurants was delicious and well-prepared. We strongly encourage the management to conduct regular walk-throughs of the property to identify and address these issues. While we appreciated the friendliness of your staff and some aspects of the dining experience, the resort's shortcomings overshadowed these positives. We hope you take this feedback to heart and make the necessary improvements so that future guests can fully enjoy their stay. Thank you for your attention to these matters.

NOT A FIVE STAR RESORT ANYMORE
This was my first time at chic in punta cana but my friends I was with had been there 8 years before and said it was great, but they were disappointed this time things have changed drastically, my room was terrible from the beginning, my fan didn’t work half the switches didn’t work I had no lights around the room no lights under the bed the side pull out lights by the bed I pulled it out and the whole thing came out of the wall ,safe wasn’t working ,lights in the closet stayed on all the time the sensors were broken the air conditioning would shut off in the middle of the night while I’m in the room when I’m at the beach all day it stays on I asked for someone 4 times by the time they came to fix the fan they got it working so slow it didn’t make wind they came near the last day to ask how everything was , I gave him my laundry list of issues but it was too late to change rooms plus my friends were next door my key pad wasn’t working my door was unlocked and I didn’t know, I found the resort run down paint peeling off the ceiling on the patio flakes of paint all over my clothes drying out on the chair , almost every table in the buffet was wobbly, there was a shortage of beach lounges people stealing them for the pool and vice versa , people holding their spot at the beach all day and not showing up because they are at the pool and other people are looking for a spot and can’t find one , as for the food , the snack bar seemed ok but the hamburgers were so greasy the meat quality was lowest couldn’t eat it at all the buffet had all kinds of food so much it made me lose my appetite, the one night they had a special dinner for repeat guests and none of us got an invite as we were just in Jamaica 3 weeks earlier at the hideaway my friends were going to that tandoori restaurant and I was going to the buffet to find out it’s closed because of the special dinner that I wasn’t invited to so I ended up eating pringles and a chocolate bar for dinner, the staff was excellent the entertainment was ok , I would not recommend this place for the money

Didn’t meet our expectations
Honest review for my recent stay at the Royalton CHIC Punta Cana, advertised as a 5-star resort, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations Room Issues: On our first night, we found a cockroach in our room, which was a major turnoff & the room smelt mould Food: The food is mediocre at best—not what you’d expect from a 5-star resort. It’s bland and just enough to get by, but certainly not a culinary experience. Beach: The beach was another letdown. It’s located on the Atlantic Ocean, not the Caribbean, so the waves are rough, making swimming more like a game of survival. I wish travel agents made this clearer when booking. Additionally, there weren’t nearly enough chairs, and finding a spot was a struggle. Staff: The one saving grace of the resort is the staff—they’re super friendly and hardworking, but that alone doesn’t make up for the other shortcomings. Overall, this resort is not deserving of a 5-star rating. It was a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

This resort is a must go to. The various spaces (pools, lounge area, lobby, shops restaurants, Spa etc.) are very clean so are the rooms. The food is good. The staff is professional and very pleasant. Without hesitation, a must do.

Definitely not a five star resort
The resort was quite old looking and had no fans to keep the airflow going. I had to ask for my welcome drink and moreover the guy at the concierge treated me as second class since I was not part of the diamond club. I felt everyone at the front desk was about making some extra bucks. The dinning experience was also quite painful since the air condition was working at minimal. One couldn’t even enjoy meals since you were sweating the whole time. Food was overall good at all the restaurants. No major complaints ! Drinks were pretty basic but service at the bar and dinning was pretty good. Everyone was very friendly. Pool size was ok but several areas were booked for diamond club, so it was very hard to find a decent spot. Most of the cabanas were not being used but they always had a reserve sign on them. Our room was ok, nothing great. We kept complaining about the door since it was totally jammed, but we were totally ignored, so we gave up. There were literally three English channels and even those were horrible print. I couldn’t even just relax in the room and watch something. The bed was comfortable. The bar in the room was only beer and water. I have been to other resorts that have a better bar. I would not come back to this resort.

Nice resort
The hotel could have used better workmanship when fixing or repairing things, especially when it came to painting or staining. Public areas and grounds were kept clean and organized. Food was good especially in the buffet. The room was nice and kept clean but the washroom layout was terrible as it had no privacy between the wash up area and the toilet. The toilet door had privacy on half the door, the toilet flush was very noisy and there was no sound barrier when using the toilet.

No beach chairs, resort and rooms were small, very clean and safe resort, lots of variety of food
This is an adults-only resort. I travelled on my own via Air Canada. The shuttle at the airport was easy to find thanks to the staff onsite. Compared to the Royalton Bavaro, the room is VERY small, I would say 2 times smaller, it felt cramped. Fridge is stocked with water and sodas. If you had 2 luggages, it would be tight to have them opened up. I used the safe, that's important. Resort was very safe and clean. There's security everywhere, and people to help you. I felt the staff at the buffet was unhappy, no smiles, how are you. Even the hostess greeting me was fed up with her job, that's the sense I got. It was always the same question: "Room number, how many people, any food allergies?" I figured out that since tipping was included at this resort, they won't go the extra mile. And they don't speak much English. The resort is small, boutique feeling, in a way it's good so you can find you way around easily. However, there's a lack of pool and beach chairs, I heard you have to arrive at 6:30 am and leave your towel, a book or anything to secure a spot. I ended up sitting in the round chair by Munchies, no shades, they were comfy but you don't see the action. The evening entertainment was by the lobby, there's no giant theatre at this resort and no Michael Jackson show. I didn't check out the nightclub. Drinks were very sweet, full of sugar, with little alcohol. If you are smart, ask them for a shot of gin, whisky...it's an all-inclusive. Buffet wasn't as extensive as the Royalton Bavaro, it's small but there's lots of food, they never run out, there's a variety of dishes from fresh grilled seafood, cheeses, breads, Asian, Italian, cold seafood, cold cuts, desserts. Nobody will be hungry. I didn't try the restaurants onsite (Indian, Hunter steakhouse and Italian), and there's no reservations required. There's a nice coffee bar with lots of cookies, cupcakes and fruits. The lobby also has fruits, which is a healthy option. Gym is also small, great variety of equipment and it was empty when I went in mid-afternoon. There are lots of activities like pilates, kayak competition, bootcamp, Spanish lessons, painting. I found the reps from the Royalton hotel sitting downstairs of my building to be ANNOYING. They key asking for my room number, if I came alone, am I married, all nosey questions that are none of their business. They were trying to sell me the Diamond package for future travel. I would suggest you simply say: I am no interested and move on. I won't return to this resort due to its size and lack of chairs, that was super disappointing. Once is enough.

We were very impressed with the compact size of Chic which made all food and facilities close at hand. The pools and beach areas are scenic and shade is available when needed. Buffets are as good as the a-la-cartes which were also fantastic...food is the best and plentiful. We joined the Diamond Club and our butler, Billy Joel, catered to our every concern and whim..he is the best!!! Our room, Presidential Suite, was HUGE and close to the pools, beach and restaurants.

6 out of 10 in our group got sick.
First of all the serving staff in all the restaurants went above and beyond. The concierge desk needs to act like a concierge desk and ensure what they promise actually happens. Those folks need to communicate with the restaurants and the front desk. It was so frustrating that they didn't seem to work as a team to esure the guests enjoy their stay. We were a group of 10 - 5 couples. We paid extra for a specific rooms and 3 of the couples didn't get the rooms we paid for - front desk finally gave us cash after numerous visits asking for a refund. We asked conceirge desk to please reserve a table for 10 at the restaurants. Out of the 5 reservations only 2 were actually booked eventhough we went several days to ensure a table of 10 was booked. The restaurant staff would do all possible to cover for the lack of communication from the concierge desk and would manage to seat us all together after waiting a little while. Rooms were missing clothes irons/steamers, blow dryers and our room door didn't even lock from the inside. The iron and blow dryer requests were quickly resolved. The lock on our door was never repaired. The light in the shower as well as the magnifying mirrow light also did not work in many of the 5 rooms booked. Maintenance crew painted the handrails in Bldg 6. There were no signs anywhere and we got paint on our hands & clothes. We advised the concierge. However no one ever bothered to put up any "wet paint" signs. *ALERT* Bar by the pool/ocean does not wash their glasses. We witnessed and refused drinks several times when we saw them throwing out the reminants of other guests drink and refilling them with drinks for us. When confronted they were not pleased but complied and actually washed the glasses with soap & water. We experienced this several times during the week. There is a little bar off to the right of the restaurants. We ordered some drinks there after supper 2 of the wives were severly ill that night. The entertainment group tried their best to keep everyone motivated. However they should have organized the kareokee in the sports bar and had other entertainment for the majority of the guests who do not enjoy that. We were there 4 years ago and we couldn't wait to go back. So we brought 8 friends with us this time. We wished they had brought back the rock band and the artist to make up for 2 of the nites that only had dance parties. Koodos to Ramirez - "oh my Jesus" if it wasn't for him the guests would be falling asleep. He kept everyone going but in a respectful way that made you want to participate in the activities. The sports group were better the first time we were there... one of the yoga instructors didn't look like he wanted to be there, we ould barely hear him. 4 of the group were extremely ill and some continue to be ill 2 weeks after being back even after taking antibiotics etc. My doctor advised that I was her 4th patient to come from the D.R. sick. The resort is under renovations that are really needed. Unfortunately due to this experience we will not be returning to Chic. Apparently they have been bought out by Marriott lets hope they can bring this place back to how it was 4-5 years ago.

Royalton CHIC Review
This small resort was very nice. The rooms were fairly plain (no bath tub/jacuzzi), but comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive. The room cleaning staff did not speak ANY English which was challenging at times. The front desk staff were very welcoming and helpful when needed. The entertainment crew were friendly but not too pushy. Yaritza took great care of us at the bar area, she was very personable and friendly and we looked forward to her excellent service every night! One member of our large group sustained an injury early in our stay. The medical staff were knowledgable and helpful. Alejandro provided restaurant reservations for our large group of 16 each night after this occurred. This was greatly appreciated!

Great Resort amazing people
Beautiful resort, good size not very big. Rooms are also great. The restaurants were amazing no issues getting in for dinner. But the people really makes this resort stand out. The entertainment Pedro and Luis, pool parties waitresses Rosa and the amazing Yuritza at the lobby bar all took very good care of us!!!

Bad hotel, would not recommend
Infrastructure Infrastructure is very deficient. Parts of the hotel flood with just 10 minutes of rain, and it even rains in parts of the lobby despite being indoors. You’d think that with how common tropical storms are, any hotel in Punta Cana could handle a little rain, but this one certainly can’t. You’ll also find exposed dangling cables and power outlets on the walls or at the beach right next to the chairs. Imagine stepping on one of those with wet feet? The reception and Wi-Fi at the doctor’s office are really poor. If you need to contact your insurance, you may have to borrow a phone and go outside. And if the doctor’s computer doesn’t have Wi-Fi, she won’t get any emails from your insurance company, and may not be able to provide covered treatment. And the “IT†people are clueless, I had to fix the Wi-Fi myself so the doctor could operate her account -.- Services and housekeeping Housekeeping is very inconsistent. Sometimes they leave no towels. Other times they don’t change or even shake the sheets (so if you had sand in them, you’ll still have it after housekeeping). Other times they don’t refill the minibar, so you have no water. Other times they don’t take the trash out. Other times they don’t replace the used glasses. So on and so forth. And if you ask the front desk, concierge, room service, or anyone else to fix anything, they’ll give you a commitment that it’ll get done right away, but it’ll actually never happen unless you ask several times. The safe wasn’t even working when we checked into the room, which makes me think they don’t do a basic check before welcoming their guests. And by the end, our room phone stopped working. The hotel doesn’t offer any transportation of their own. They work with a third party taxi company, and you can’t bill the cost to your room. The pricing is very inconsistent, we asked different staff members and they gave us drastically different prices for the same trip, so until you have them call a taxi and ask the driver yourself, you’ll never really know. Food and drinks The buffet is pretty good. It’s available for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it has an abundance of different items: fresh fruit, smoked salmon, seafood and red meats cooked on demand on the spot, pretty decent pizza, a variety of desserts, many kinds of bread and bagels, a comprehensive salad station, honey on the honeycomb, etc. etc. etc. Without a doubt the best place to eat in the hotel. The honorable mention is the 24-hour room service, which has quite a few dishes and they are pretty decent. The restaurants are not very good. They seem to have very few items that are actually respectable, while the rest are pretty mediocre. We didn’t try Cloud 9 (it was 150 USD per person, I doubt this hotel can offer anything worth that much), but we tried all the others which were included. The drinks are also a big miss. Beer is never cold. Most cocktails are either overly sweet, watery, or just have a weird artificial taste. There are only a few decent ones, like the mojitos. Even the water can taste weird depending on where you order it. Entertainment There’s not really much to do at the hotel. There are a few sporadic activities like aqua gym or dance lessons. For non group activities, there’s a tennis court, but only one tennis racket available, so if you didn’t bring your own you can forget about playing. There’s a basketball court and a fitness center, but we didn’t try them. Other than that, there’s a spa, two pool tables and an air hockey table, all with very hefty prices. The night shows were ok and the club was mostly just empty playing very American music. Beach Aside from the infrastructure problems, the beach is ok. It doesn’t have a lot of sitting, but it was never full anyway, we could always find sitting with both shade and sunshine. They have a little tractor that clears up the seaweed regularly, so the sand stays mostly uncontaminated.

Diamond club snub
This hotel was fine. The food was good. The staff are diamond club snobby. So ridiculous they will not let you sit on the outdoor patio at buffet unless your diamond club. Total BS it’s the only buffet and it is so hot on the upper level. Due to this I would not consider returning. The beach is small and water rough.

Small but great!
Great resort. We paid for Diamond Club and loved the extras...close rooms, premium drinks, special beach area, special beach bar and the surf and turf night on the beach - all wonderful. The resort was not full which made it wonderful for sitting around the pool - no fighting for chairs in the morning. The food and drinks were out of this world. My husband and I don't like Indian cuisine, but tried the Tandoori restaurant and it was fabulous! We rented a cabana with hot tub on the last day and it was the only day that had a few speckles of rain, so it was a wonderful treat. The foam party was fun and everyone was respectful and had a great time. I heard people taking poorly about the food, but I completely disagree. It was great in the al-la-carte restaurants (Sushi, Italian, Steak and Indian). The buffet was very small and limited, but it was a smaller resort, so it was to be expected. The food was fresh and well prepared. i would say housekeeping was a little lack when it came to extra towels, turn-down service and recognizing our special occasion. However, I think that was just our particular person as our kids had amazing housekeeping and they were over the top. The entertainment was Caribbean style and not the best, but we didn't expect anything different. It was still fun and people had a great time. No complaints.

Great, Good & Not so Good!
The Great; Marie our personal concierge was amazing and always kept us up to date with activities and meal options. Polo and Leydy of the serving staff were top notch. Watson and Jean Carlos as pool waiters were fast. The spa was a wonderful experience and well worth the time and cost, the individual staff attention was exceptional. Insomnia cafe was a feature and the diamond club beach bar and restaurant was a gem spot. The good; Food was often similar but good quality. The drinks were varied and with Diamond club you could get almost anything, even expensive scotch. All staff were friendly and more than willing to try and help. The not so great; other than the spa, the hotel needs repairs in all areas. *Our room didn’t smell wet which was good but had broken tile, a broken light shade and lots of flaking paint. The hallways, stairwells and most common areas had some disrepair. An evening storm had knocked clay tile from roof which shattered on the ground; took 3 days before the shards of dangerous pieces were swept up. The hotel pool was dirty; all walls were covered with algae, lots of tiles missing, garbage floating around (which I know is guests inconsiderateness) but even in the morning the pool was dirty. By the afternoon it was not good. Advertised beach and pool volleyball consisted of 1 terrible ripped up water logged ball and no organization. The vibe team were more interested in anything to do with dancing. *The fitness instructors were well organized and consistent. Beach was not good; seaweed (which can’t be helped), a tractor was driving around overloaded meaning he wasn’t picking anything up… needs training. *Waves were beautiful. Suggestions; more pool cleaners from 6pm or at 6am. A deducted repair team with a lead hand who can recognize and prioritize repairs. The team also needs proper tools. As an example; a plumber in the lobby bathroom spent 2 days changing urinals because he didn’t have the proper equipment. He also was unrealistically asked to reuse tiles that were not meant for the job. Finally we enjoyed our trip. The good outweighed the bad and we made it 4 out of 5. We are not complainers at all but if we were a negative couple the rating would have been a 2 or 3. 5th Royalton and will stick with the brand but maybe not CHIC until a remodel.

Very nice place
Visited this resort in mid April and it worked very well for us. It is on the smaller side with about 330 rooms, adults only and sits on a beautiful beach with not a lot of other properties around. No buildings are over 3 floors and as a result, no elevators needed, This resort is easily walkable without the need for golf carts or other modes of transportation to get around. Before discussing the individual elements of the resort, I think that I should acknowledge that the single most important advantage to staying at this property is the staff. From our experience and meeting the staff members that we did (not all, but many), every single encounter was exceptional. That included a passing greeting, seeking direction or asking some other question. The staff work long hours if necessary, work many consecutive days without time off and they never stop smiling, being friendly and totally professional. Well done. The resort grounds are impeccably maintained and even though it claimed to be at capacity, it never seemed overly busy or overcrowded with people. No need to stake you chair claim at 6 a.m. from our experience. We would place towels on our desired space when going for the breakfast buffet around 9. There always seemed to be spare lounges at the pools and the beech. We were is a standard luxury room which was well appointed and a nice size. Included a balcony with chairs and a table. Our room was fine, but it had been well used and was in need of some upgrades and repairs. Everything worked fine, but the room needed work. The food was very nice as far as we were concerned which included the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. A la cartes run from 6-10 each night and we would show up 6-6:30 with no reservations and be seated immediately. Not everything appealed to us but there is enough choice to make anyone happy in my opinion. A hidden gem is the Insomnia coffee shop where the barista makes virtually any custom coffee, as well as Italian pastries and tiny sandwiches available along with soft ice cream. Hard not to go there every day. The entertainment team works hard every day to keep people involved as they see fit and there is entertainment each night. It's not great but it is a very small resort and the team works hard and also brings in local entertainers, some of which were excellent. There is a Diamond Club which offers superior accommodations and extra privileges. I felt that the same staff that looked after us looked after them and provided the same services. In some respects, I thought the Diamond Club pool etc. was a little isolated and away from the activities. If that is what you wish for, great, but I couldn't justify the cost. An aggravating drawback to the resort comes in the form of tour agents on the property constantly trying to sell excursions and selected vendors allowed on the property every other day to sell their wares. The off site vendors must remain in their dedicated area and have a proper display set up but boy do they come on hard and fast, and unless you tell them straight up, they are relentless. They have to earn a living too, but they are hard sell people and negotiation is very much alive. There are some employees of the resort that also try to upsell service but their approach is more gentle and is provided as a source of information if you want it. Case in point was a sommelier named Florentino who tries to sell premium wines to the guests to improve their experience. He asked me every day and I never purchased, but he was great with us. I know it's all part of the game but he went out of his way every day to make us feel special in some way. Every day he would tell me "I love my job". How many people in the real world can say that? At the end of our week, this location and resort was everything that we had wanted it to be for a reasonable price.

Nice & Clean
This resort is super clean, has (mostly) friendly staff, excellent food, and is a nice small resort. You can walk to everything within 5 minutes, but there's still plenty of pool space and a nice beach area. Overall, our experience was really good. We even went to the spa and enjoyed a massage and made use of the hydrotherapy pools - highly recommend. The only complaint that we have is with regards to the diamond club. We were given incorrect information about what our upgrade was going to include, paid for it, got no further information and then when we went searching for information we were told that half of the things we were told were included, actually were not. It was a waste of our money to be honest. The main beach area is really nice, so there's no need to have access to the diamond club beach. We never had any issues getting into eat at any of the restaurants, so reservations were not required. Overall, great resort but don't both wasting your money on the diamond club.

Couples Trip - Not Worth The Cost
I had previously visited the Royalton Chic Punta Cana in February 2015 and absolutely loved the trip. I re-booked at the hotel with my husband for our honeymoon in March 2023 and was so disappointed. We booked a Diamond Club oceanview room. Here were the pros: - Beautiful view of the resort & ocean from our room - Our Diamond Club butler Ronald was amazing. He was super friendly, booked our dinner reservations, booked a spa reservation for us, and messaged us daily to see if he could do anything for us. He was one of the best parts of the trip. He even had a bubble bath with flowers drawn for us one day. - The massages at the Spa were amazing. - We enjoyed the food at the Ceviche/Sushi restaurant and Elements Buffet (breakfast and lunches were great) - Great gym, nice and clean - We told them it was our honeymoon and they didn't do anything special for us. And here were the cons: - The majority of the staff were not very friendly and were constantly on their phones - The resort needs cleaning and a ton of minor repairs. - The purple lights in our room were burnt out (we asked for them to be fixed and were told maintenance would come but they never did) - The bed creaked whenever you rolled over in it - The restaurant service was poor. In several restaurants, we waited over 30 mins to have our orders taken and over an hour for food. The restaurants were fairly loud and it was hard to have a conversation over dinner. - The Diamond Club exclusive areas weren't monitored by staff and anyone could use them so I'm not sure why we paid extra for them. - The shows were great but had limited seating. They also started late but we were told they started at 9 pm. - The evening dancing was lack luster it was hard to get the crowd going (like a bad wedding dance floor). We wish there was a dance club on site.

Fantastic staff
Incredible staff - yoga instructors Chely and J Carlo helped this first time ever yoga student. I enjoyed 11 consecutive lessons. Ramona took great care of our family of 7 (including our 93 year old Dad) on the beach every day. She was a definite highlight of our vacation. Ruben gave my Dad lots of attention which he so enjoyed. Loved watching the vibe team dance. Front desk and concierge people were very helpful. Rooms cleaned beautifully every day. The entire resort was kept very clean always. Buffet had lots of good options, again staff was very attentive. Other restaurants were mediocre in quality and service. Enjoyed several entertainment shows.

Great Vacation
This was a very lovely resort, smaller than some of the other larger ones where you need a trolley to get around. Food and service was fantastic. Eddy, Adoni, Joyn (supervisor at the Indian restaurant) and Yaritza (Taboo) were all fantastic. My husband arranged an intimate dinner for my birthday at the Culunary Experience and food was unbelievable (this is an extra charge). It would be nice to have privacy doors in the bathrooms, rather than open concept, you get used to it, but doors are preferred. Rooms are smaller than other resorts. The entertainment in the evening was lovely and a talented bunch. Vibes crew were fun and always including the guests, with their great sense of humor. I would recommend this resort.

Great stay!
Loved the smaller size of resort so it wasn't too far to get to and from the resort amenities from our room. Clean and modern hotel with great daily room cleaning services. The pools were beautiful with a variety of spots to lounge. The main pool had a lively atmosphere but if you wanted something quieter, you could choose the smaller pool closer to the ocean. Great ocean front with seating available. You do need to get to the pool and ocean loungers early in the morning if you want a spot.

Disappointed
We are a family of 5, all adults (youngest 29 and oldest 72). I have to say we were a little disappointed, I would not say this is a 5 star resort and we travel a lot (15+ all inclusive resorts in the last 10 years). To start the resort was clean, and the grounds kept clean as well. The size of the resort was perfect, not too big and not too small, direct beach views from the pool, it’s all really close together which is nice to not have to walk for 20+ min to get somewhere. The beach is brown sand, not white sand like promised and the waves very strong, most days not able to swim in the ocean (not the resorts fault - just mentioning it). Food was ok…. Not 5 stars, it was edible but not a lot of options and sometimes the labels didn’t match what they served. 3/5 members from my group had upset stomachs by day 5 and multiple guests we spoke to were experiencing the same thing. The Italian restaurant was AMAZING, very authentic and great flavors. Otherwise we had to eat at the buffet for all dinners because despite the resort claiming to be a reservation free hotel they prioritize reservations for diamond club members and then leave no room for the rest of the guests to eat until 8pm or later so we ended up at the buffet. We tried to make reso’s and we tried to just walk in at different times yet time and time again we couldn’t get in to the restaurants cause they were full (despite multiple empty tables). The entertainment was extremely poor, every night it was just 4 females dressed provocatively swaying their hips to music - this included their very poor NYE entertainment as well. Music was repetitive all day, into the evening, same in the club then repeated the next day as well. Despite being “all inclusive†the resort wouldn’t let you sit in certain cabana chairs unless you rented them, the chairs and beds sat empty majority of the week but they wouldn’t let you use them unless you paid minimum $120 usd. There was also a rooftop pool advertised to everyone but when you get there only certain guests can use it or you have to pay to use it (Mermaid Pool). They also tried to sell you NYE tickets to watch the show (the poor one I mentioned above), if you didn’t buy the tickets starting at $600usd for a booth (treated like booth and bottle service at a club) then you needed to sit over 50feet away from stage. Thank goodness we didn’t pay because we didn’t need to sit any closer to see how bad the entertainment was. Lastly the rooms, they were fine but very run down; shower door handle and air conditioning broken in one, door frame and table broken in another, and closet doors fell off the tracks in the third. The doors actually fell onto my Aunt and it took 30+ min for someone to come help. Many other guests were complaining about the rooms as well. Sometimes maids forgot to restock the fridge, leave towels and or other basics. However, it was clean and beds were typical. ALSO THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS FYI. Onto the positives: Meibi and Rosa who serve the pool areas made our trip! They were kind and greeted with a smile daily and were a pleasure to socialize with. Leo, Henry and Derrick who served us in the buffet were also very nice and provided some laughs. Miguel who I was a customer service representative (main lobby) was also so kind and lovely and chatted with us daily. The resort would be better if they upgraded the rooms, and maintained them more, switched to reservations at the restaurants or actually make it reservation free for everyone, and stop trying to sell you things like chairs and certain pools when we paid for all inclusive (would like to mention all these things they try to sell are different from the diamond club section) which is to expected. If we needed to pay extra we should have been told and it should be advertised as such on their website and through their bookings with the air carriers.

Disappointment !
Standard fare all-inclusive. Watered down drinks. Mid-shelf Jose Cuervo re-filled with THE cheapest tequila. Straight up lousy replacement tequila. I found a single bottle of 100% agave tequila on site (Heradura) at the *Diamond Club* beach bar hidden on the bottom shelf, lower right corner. Service seemed worse at the Diamond Club than at the *regular* side. You could sit for hours and not be approached by the wait staff. Forget the warm beer on tap or the watered-down vodka. I'm guessing even the local rum wasn't good. Rude and ignorant guests hanging around the pool and D-Jay station playing *Wet Ass Pussy* and other rude and vulgar C*Rap*. I have nothing against good rap.

Very good, very clean hotel, great staff and service (especially Margot who went out of her way for us). My only complaints were the damp bedding from the air conditioning I assume, but they were changed when I requested and everyday automatically. Saturday was the focus party day, great job at that on Saturday, just wish it was all week long since this is a party resort. I did love the hotel TV menu system to keep you updated on the activities, ordering room service and everything to do with the hotel. The beach while we were there had seaweed washing up, but they did attempt to keep it clean.

Chiq was really nice
We liked the resort. It's small and seems like 5 minutes walk to restaurants and beach (and we were at the back of the resort). We were there for 10 days and could have been there longer. Spent most of the time on the beach walking for 5-10km every day. Beach is windy constantly and when it was cooler we went to the pool. Restaurants are nice (Italian, Buffet and Indian were our preferred places) - did not have to book them ahead of time. Coffee at the coffee shop Insomnia was great - opens at 7am and great to grab a coffee and go to the beach. Service was good overall. Some of the waiter staff were not trained on the menu options. As a vegan, I was able to have options for breakfast, lunch and dinners every day. If there weren't options, the chef was helpful in preparing a veggie dish just for me.

Loved this resort!
The CHIC lived up to our expectations. Service was excellent, quality of food and drink was exceptional and newer decor was fabulous! Lots of hand sanitizer was available in washrooms and all needed to use before entering the buffet. Not all staff wore masks but guess DR like Canada have removed the mask mandate. All staff was eager to please and lots of variety of entertainment ..not your typical shows ..very creative. Diamond Club is closer to pool activities so could be a bit louder. We chose the quieter regular rooms which was closer to the spa and gym. Good sized resort and was easy to walk to everything. One odd thing was the restaurant bookings. We were told no reservations required however you needed to put your name on a list at 6pm in order to get a time. Bit strange but that was the only complaint.

Beautiful resort and service!
Just returned from our week of March 25-April 1st. Beautiful, clean resort. Food was great at all of the restaurants. Our butler, Teudi looked after all of our requests from our room to reservations at the a la carte restaurants. Met with the Sunwing rep on Saturday and he assured me NO testing had to be required since we departed on April 1st. Filling out the ArriveCAN app was seamless…did it on the beach with all my information. Need to be more clarification on the QR code needed at the airport in order to depart the Dominican! I was fortunate enough to have it sent to me from a family member and showed it on my iPhone. Flight in and out of Hamilton was seamless.

This hotel was amazing. Restaurants, service, staff, grounds, food, drinks, pool and beach. Everything was top notch and perfect!! Kudos to the Entertainment staff for keeping everyone entertained all day. Santiago was the best with all his staff. Only thing I wasn't crazy about, was that the washrooms in the rooms did not have doors. Yes, a door to the toilet but not to the washroom itself. Lacked privacy. Otherwise, everything else was fantastic.

Positives and Negatives
Excellent Staff. The people at this resort were amazing. A couple of small issues with the resort but please stop advertising the "Dreambed". Our bed snapped and cracked every time we moved and the frame was made of cheap plywood. Pulled the sheets back on the final day and mattress was dirty. This resort is showing it's age with hand dryers not working, smelly bathrooms, etc. Food was generally ok but always overcooked at the buffet. Nice touches were: always having room key on your wrist (all resorts should do this), no cards required for towels, entertainment was generally very good and as mentioned all the employees were terrific.

Bad Ressort
We had a lot of problems in the room and management of the resort did not fix it. 1. Loud noise (metal grinding and knocking) from the room Air Conditioner. Was never fixed. 2. TV did not work four days. After that works only three days and dead again. From two weeks it works only five days. 3. Shower did not work four days. 4. The room phone did not work four days. 5. The room minifridge is empty. Nothing delivered. Not even water. We had to go to the concierge (phone is not working) to ask for water. Even after that we were getting only thee 350 ml bottles for two for a day! How chip Royalton management! 6. There is no coffee-machine in the room. 7. There is no mini bar in the room.

Great Resort
Great clean resort. The food was half decent had great entertainment and pool area. The only concern was if you aren’t diamond club you cannot reserve restaurants, so you need to line up at 6 in a crazy line only for them to tell you to come back at 8 and then come back again at 9. The food at these restaurants was also amazing and delicious one night and then mediocre the next. But overall we had a great trip.

Great resort
We had an amazing time at the Chic Royalton in Punta Cana. The service and food were great, best part is real Clamato for us Canadians. Our butler Juan was amazing and went above and beyond for us. We had an amazing server at the Hunter steak house named Nester. My favourite bartender was Marisol. She too was amazing. I highly recommend this resort. When you go search out these wonderful people to say hi.

It was nice
Resort was very clean with amazing restaurants. We enjoyed unlimited and no reserve idea for restaurants. Lounge chairs were better than other resorts. Only negative thing was the pushy timeshare people. Every building had an attendant on duty and his job was to send you to timeshare. They got a little rude when we refused. We also had a problem with having our fridge stocked. When we ask for beer, the guy who delivered came right out and asked for a tip. My husband told him it’s part of service after he asked three times for money. We were furious at his attitude and complained. Can’t say that we would return to this resort.

A glorious resort
So very pleased with our choice to go to Hotel Chic Punta Cana Dominican Republic Everything from our diamond club room overlooking the pools and beach and comfy beds and our own Butler which took care of our dinner reservations to making sure we had anything we needed, The food was superb and top named brand alcohol available everywhere. The beach was gorgeous for those long walks on such beautiful soft sandy beach. There was never an issue with lounge chairs or Bolly Beds and the service on the beach was amazing. You never had to look for a waiter they were always coming by to see if you needed a bottle of water or a drink or food. The staff always had a smile for us! Could not have been happier and they also have a top notch spa with Hydropools which we used daily

Nice vacation
At first we were disappointed because we had a small room with two beds and we had specified one king bed. This was rectified two days later with a better room. As for the hotel we considered it a 4star resort rather than a 5 star generally. What we enjoyed was the friendliness of all the staff wanting to render our vacation as perfect as possible. The restaurants and food we excellent The poor side is the lack of chairs at the beach so we always had to get up very early to reserve the chairs. The spa facilities were not open to us unless we took a massage. So the rainy days did not permit un to enjoy the most expensive services. All in all we enjoyed our vacation but will not come back

Decent Stay! Great party/entertainment resort
We've just returned from a one week stay at Chic Punta Cana. Given the mixed reviews we read, we had set our expectations accordingly to hope for the best but expect to be somewhat disappointed. I should note that during my stay I was asked a few times to complete a tripadvisor review by staff which makes me realize the importance of filtering reviews with less concentration and more suspicion on some of the "one-and-done" reviews especially with only one or two sentences. Our arrival and check-in was quite smooth. Since we had a Presidental Suite with Diamond Club access we checked in at the Diamond Club centre. It took about 15 minutes until we received our key bracelets (which I thought was a really cool touch), were introduced to our butler, Miguel, then escorted to our room in Building 4, 1st floor. I had read that the rooms were pretty tired and, while I see why, I was initially pleasantly surprised with the room despite it needing a bit of an update. During our stay we didn't have any issues with air conditioning as it worked perfectly with separate units for the bedroom vs the living area. Unfortunately, the problems we did encounter really impacted our enjoyment and overall trip impression. I encountered a few large cockroaches in the room and, while the team took care of them quickly, it left me feeling a bit uneasy throughout my stay. The other issue would be that our toilet area often smelled like an outhouse due to sewage back-up issues. I understand that these things can happen but, having stayed in several "5 star, adults only" resorts in Punta Cana in the past it was the first time I had experienced these issues so it felt particularly unpleasant. We felt the food was decent at the resort but did not compare in quality to other similarly rated resorts we had stayed at in Punta Cana, particularly in the buffet which was average. Many people we talked to really enjoyed Hunter's Steak House. We had great meals at Tagine and Vespa (great pizza!). The buffet was typical but unremarkable compared to previous experiences at other Punta Cana resorts. The sushi restaurant was held in the same place as the diamond club breakfast. It was disappointing that the design of the sushi felt like a cafeteria rather than a cool sushi spot which we often see and the food at this restaurant did not impress us. The pool area was lively and enjoyable. The chair game is much worse than other resorts - if you do not get up very early there was limited availability so you wouldn't just risk location but instead may be lucky to get a chair/bed at all. I woke up early to run everyday so was able to observe this but we decided not to participate in the game and paid for a cabana for our entire stay. The cabana was a great touch and our butler, Jimmy, was amazing and we received the best service from him. We thought that the pool and beach were really great. The entertainment at this resort is really impressive if you are okay with noise, which we are. I would rate the entertainment team above average - this is where Chic excels. I enjoyed that they had fitness classes by the pool/beach area beyond your typical aquafit so you didn't have to miss out on precious outdoor time during the day by going to a gym. The beach was beautiful and clean. We went on long beach walks daily which we enjoyed. A special shout out to J Carlo and the entertainment team who were dedicated to ensuring everyone had fun. The evening entertainment was also great and much better than most other resorts we've been to. We enjoyed many of the shows but there is no dedicated theatre area for these shows and we noticed that people would be reserving seats (which were more limited than even the pool area) hours in advance with many left standing throughout the shows. As mentioned above, entertainment is where this resorts excels. They had some original shows like the Queen tribute, Madonna tribute, circus and a 'silent disco'. It was a fresh change from typical Michael Jackson shows. Since there are many fitness classes offered throughout the day, I was disappointed with the gym which was on the small side with limited weight machines and equipment but we were able to get creative and it was adequate. Service was hit and miss. Our butlers Miguel (room) and Jimmy (cabana)really went above and beyond. Carlo's (server) and Amouris (pizza maker) at Vespa were absolute delights. Other than those great experiences, we seemed to encounter a lot of average service and a lot of employees who seemed to be having bad days. If entertainment is the most important feature for a resort for you, I would recommend this resort to you. Without the upgraded suite, diamond club access and rented pool cabana, I would be cautious in recommending this resort at all as, even with these add-ons, I would rate Chic as a stretch 4. I would not consider this a luxury resort so would have to ensure I set expecations before recommending this resort to friends or family.

Wonderful Time
Our stay at the CHIC resort was wonderful. The staff were amazing, very accommodating and friendly. We enjoyed the food and the restaurants were all walk in which we liked, no reservations needed. The entertainment was great each and every night. The games pool side and on the beach were funny and entertaining. The room was clean as was the resort it self. The down side for me was the beach which was lovely but because we were on the Atlantic side the water was rough. I prefer less waves. All in all we had a great time.

Was away over the Christmas holidays and the resort went above and beyond for New Years. I loved that it never felt crowded could always get chairs by pool or beach. Food was also good, my only complaint was the rooms are a little run down, the furniture needs replacing other then that our time was amazing!!!! I highly recommend if you get the butler service to use Ronald he goes above and beyond for you. This vacation spot will not disappoint you. Cheers

The hotel itself was nice and clean. Some stuff needed updating but nothing that was detrimental to our stay. Food was excellent, staff were friendly and the beach was beautiful. Although there’s nothing specifically to complain about however we wouldn’t do this resort again. The pools are a little too small as is the resort.

Beautiful
This is a lovely resort ! The room was also nice but really didn’t like the bathroom there was no privacy at all and the tiny room the toilet was in way to small. The food presentation was fantastic but wasn’t crazy about all the food. The middle eastern was my favourite and the service was great but in saying that the service was not consistent I sometimes we felt well honestly I could understand why the staff were not friendly all the time and some were friendly to others but not to everyone right in front of you so you felt like what did I do wrong always smiled and said thank you very much and tip. There was a girl at the beach and I wish I could remember her name she was fantastic she would be a wonderful example for others. Also some of the bartenders were great and some were not. The entertainment was fantastic and we had so much fun watching all the performers. In the bathrooms around the resort not all the sinks worked none of the hand dryers worked and one day there would be paper to dry your hands and the next not. Overall it was really good.

Our Amazing Week at Chic
This resort is awesome! I travelled with my boyfriend and two other couples, so with a group of 6 people ranging from 24-30 years old, we always had something to do! Here are a few observations we had: We paid extra to get Diamond Club and in this resort it is definitely worth it as there were a lot of things that required Diamond Club in order to use it. For example, they had premium alcohol for Diamond members only (which was good because I would rather Grey Goose for Vodka rather than Skyy, which is what they serve). Diamond Club members also get their own lounge, their own sections of the beach and their own pool called the Mermaid Pool (which we found wasnt all that great since employees arent really up there so you dont really get attended to). Rooms: My boyfriend and I got a Presidential Suite and it was beautiful. One of the TVs was not working, I asked someone to come fix it and it wasnt until I asked at the Diamond Club reception that it was promptly fixed. I also found in the room that everything felt damp- we tried putting the air conditioning on and to a comfortable level with the fans on but we could not escape the damp feeling on our clothes and bed sheets. Some other little repairs in the room could be made or a little update to certain things but this did not bother us. Food: The food at Chic was INCREDIBLE! Everything we had was awesome! The Japanese and steakhouse was my fav! Our butler made sure we had our reservations every night! Thank you Ronaldo, you were amazing and made our trip! Pool/Beach: The Diamond Club beach was very very nice, we stayed here most days. Esperanza in the beach bar was awesome with us and so attentive! Thank you!! The pool was so fun and the vibe team always had something happening! Entertainment: I have never been to a hotel that had so much entertainment- the staff here work so hard to make sure you are having a good time. Huge shout out to CANDY MAN- he always went out of his way to come say hi and hang with us and make sure we were having a good time. All resorts need someone like CANDY MAN on their vibe team, he was amazing!! Each night had something happening- the "Adult Show" was amazing, with professional dancers! Amazing! Thank you Chic for a wonderful stay! We will be back!

Poor service and definitely not a 5* resort !!!
Service is extremely slow at all the restaurants. Facilities are mediocre at best and entertainment is just average. All in all, this resort is probably at 3.5/4 star. I would not recommend this place during the holiday season and I would suggest you find a place that will get you more bang for the $$ you spend.

No drinks in my room
I asked at reception the drinks which missed in my room. I talked with Sunwing représentant ( I forgot his name ) and he told me if I want to bring the drinks in Canada I should take the battle they put in my room . I didn’t receive any alcohol drinks until the final vacation. Why only in my room I didn’t have that alcohol drinks ? On the airport they asked to show a prouve of payment for my vacation and they asked me to pay for transportation from airport to Chic 70 usd . Why they don’t believe I paid my vacation ? Why should I show that email on my phone wifi that I paid ? The attitude of Sunwing représentant in Chic is not the one he should have with people in vacation. Thank you And happy new year

Chic Punta Cana Awesome Resort!!!!!
I would highly recommend this resort! From the minute we arrived till the minute we left we where treated fabulous. The rooms where very nice, clean and excellent working air conditioning. Rubin, Anna and Clifford our concessionaires where the best. Always there to look after our every need. It was my husbands birthday when we went. On that day we received a cake and bottle of champagne delivered to our room. Joe one of our favorite bar tenders always greeted us with a smile, remembered our names and favorite drinks. The food was awesome as well as all the la carts. No reservations or long pants needed for the men as a lot of resorts require. Just dresses shorts. My husband was very impressed. They had great entertainment at the pool every afternoon. I miss hearing the head of the entertainment saying"Oh My Chicken". From the pool and beach service it was a truly great vacation. We will be back next year!

Amazing solo trip!
From the moment you get on the property it looks so beautiful. I opted to upgrade my room and had a beautiful ocean view and was right by all the action (main pool). The hospitality from all the staff was exceptional and they had great entertainment each night. The food options were good but I wish they had more options on the resort. Last but not least the beach area was maintained which was very nice, not a lot of seaweed. Overall this trip was amazing! Can’t wait to go back!!

CHIC was an absolutely wonderful resort. On top of the fun we had, we were very well thought of often and taken care of with pride and courtesy. The staff, all of them, were incredible and made us feel at home and went above and beyond to help us celebrate our engagement. Thank you to Ana and her team for making our stay wonderful and bringing us together in your “familyâ€! Excursions were so much fun. If the opportunity presents itself, hit the catamaran and snorkelling excursion. It promises not to disappoint. It was incredible fun. The crew were absolutely fantastic and ensured everyone’s safety both in the water and on the catamaran. The monkey excursion was so fabulous and worth every memory. Mimi and Pina were just WOW!!!!! They were so hilarious we couldn’t stop laughing. The horseback riding was a great time too! Joel, our guide was fantastic and a lot of fun. I cannot remember our other guides name but he too was great and had us laughing with his andele andele catch phrase. Absolutely a fantastic trip. We will definitely be back.

Good Resort
I initially booked the standard luxury room, and had to upgrade, because the toilet wouldn't flush and there is no door on the shower. After i upgraded, the room was much better so if you are gonna book this hotel just splurge a little and get the upgrade. Another issue of mine was the limited options of food, by 10 p.m. everything was closed and you have to order room service, the saving grace was the food overall was good. Honestly for a royalton chain this hotel is sub-par oh and of course be prepared for someone trying to sell you something every single moment.

The CHIC Punta Cana was a fun/entertaining type of resort. Always lively and the team works very hard for you. I really liked it. The food was top quality but apparently they changed management and the quality of service and level of alcohol that people were used to the previous year was not there. The service was slower than usual in the restaurants and bars.

Great Resort, bad environment
The resort was beautiful with great spacious rooms. The food was great everywhere we went. The one thing is that the resort staff differentiate between guest that have diamond status and others. For me, a resort that want to be classified as luxury should be providing all their guest with top service not making some of the guest feel like a second class citizen. i went with my wife to celebrate a great milestone in our marriage. the first couple of days the resort was quite and we enjoyed it tremendously. then the resort got busy with loud, drunken people. one of afternoons a guy decided that he will take his shorts off and show himself off, and his wife joined him and took her top off. they danced for a good 10 min before they stopped. the staff was lined up looking at them and calling around but no one stopped it. I was very offended, this is not the type of place i would like to be at. the following days there was a problem every day at the people with someone who is drunk screaming at everyone. I have been traveling every single year to the Caribbean for the past 10 years and have never seen guest with this behavior and worse, have not seen a hotel staff accepting such behavior.
