I had a blast in Cuba and the resort was amazing. The staff is really what makes this place extra special, they go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay. On top of that the beach is the best I’ve ever been too.

The grounds are beautiful! The staff was amazingly helpful. Staff looked after us like royalty! Room was always spotless and cleaned everyday. And we always had toilet paper. Food was very good for Cuban standards

This resort is beautiful! The beach is beautiful! The people are beautiful! Yes, the food after one week got a little tired but I always had something good to eat. It’s a bit of a large resort so long walk to the beach and back. Very quiet - not many people there. Entertainment was lovely! 1 hour 30 minutes from Airport. Bring snacks but they have beer to purchase 2 for $5 USD Don’t give Canadian loonies and toonies for tips they cannot cash them in there.

Best resort beach in Cuba. Tons of privacy and miles of beach to walk. Very large sand bar extends far and wide. Hardly ever any seaweed. Pools very well laid out for private basking. Lots of room.

The hotel has a fantastic beach, at least it had that. Pool bar was really shallow, up to your knees. They serve warm drinks. No vodka anywhere, no champagne and no orange juice. The food was okay but not much variety at all. 24hr snack bar serves hot dog sandwiches. Resort is run down, moved rooms due to electrical issues. Woke up with a note saying be packed up and out by 9:30 with no reason whatsoever. When moving rooms they didn't have another one ready. Then moved us into a dirty room. Didn't have cleaners for 4 hours. Drinking water is apparently hard yo get. Overall not happy at all with Cuba or this resort. Most likely will never go back

Our first visit was in February, despite the limited food, we enjoyed our stay there. Enough to go back this December. We entered our room, there were stains on the couch, the balcony door wasn’t locking, the fridge was broken, shower head wasn’t working properly. Stains on the toilet seat and in the toilet (looked like it wasn’t flushed). We requested another room, even with the low occupancy the hotel sent a technician to fix the balcony door, they added another lock, and the technician wasn’t happy, he showed us how to open and close the door. Another day they came and changed the fridge. It took two days to “fix” the shower head, halfway into our vacation, these things were being repaired, we felt it necessary to stay in the room during repairs. The room will be in working condition for the next guest, but at our expense. These repairs should have been done before we arrived or another room should have been provided to us. Food: there was half of what we were offered in February, I found myself stuffing my mouth with chips in the room and leaving the buffet hungry. Too much carbs, the best meal was only on December 24th. I got eaten alive by black flies the first evening. Had no idea what black flies even were prior to this. A very kind guest (also from Canada) gave me her bug spray, I cried from her generosity and my helplessness. There were 3 employees that were exceptionally kind: Addy, Ronald and Ronnie. We will miss you all. We will not be returning to this resort. This hotel left much to be desired.

Friendly staff, beautiful beach, & low prices, but they place is not well maintained or supplied. It was very early in the travel season, but I would try somewhere else. If they fix it up, it's a lovely location.

Wonderful time even though there were only just over 100 guest. Had a front row seat on the beach with the beach bar and entertainment in the evening. Food was better than I expected but the staff make this resort. Very hard working people that want to make sure you have everything you need. Beautiful Beach. Not everything is open and running 100% it was difficult to get an al a carte, all booked up as there is only 1 restaurant functioning as an a al carte and it's changed to Italian one night and then Spanish the next and so on. Tourism is down in cuba and it's so sad to not see the resorts full, on the plus side it was very very nice to not wait in line ups for the buffet and have my preferred spot by the pool or on the beach everyday. The employees are so so grateful for anything you give them. Bring Canadian or US currency and if you can make room in your luggage for extra soaps, razors, medicine/bandaids, colouring books, school supplies, clothes, dry food items, chocolates, these items are greatly appreciated.

This was our second stay here. The first was 3 years ago, the beach is paradise, the people are beautiful. The property is in amazing shape. There was always power, hot water and something to eat, pizza at the pool bar is a nice touch, grilled chicken sandwiches at the beach were awesome. The Buffet was lacking but in all fairness there was only 150 people, low season. My only complaint was the beds, very old and lots of springs, nothing a chiropractor can’t fix.

The resort is beautiful. Service was exceptional especially Yosvic and Yasier at the pool bar, Yuri and Daily at the Buffet. Weather was amazing. Mosquitos in abundance. Bring lots, lots of spray. Overall it was a great vacation

We have been to Cuba many times so we know about the food, shortages, hotels so we know what we are getting into. The hotel only has about 10 % open, 1 buffet and 1 a la carte. If the a la carte is open the buffet is not. Food was edible but.... we were violently sick for 36 hours after the a la carte. We assume it was the soup but have no idea. We have never been sick in Cuba before. Beds are HORRIBLE! I don't mean bad I mean every bone in our bodies hurt. Bring a pillow and mattress if you can! Saying all of this the workers are the best we have ever had! They did everything they could to make our stay great. Would we return, No, would we recommend any of the workers for new jobs, yes!!

We visited Valentin Pearla Blanca between November 1-8, 2025 and stayed in the Alegance section of the resort. Cuban playas never disappoint us but the one in Perla takes it to the next level. It’s truly the best we’ve ever seen in our trips. Then there is people, too many to mention but I’ll try: 1. Naldi, the beach attendant 2. Henrique, the quiet but super nice beach lifeguard 3. Adriano, beach cocinero 4. Leila, main buffet 5. Abner, 24 hour snack bar 6. Meila, the receptionist 7. Main bar crew – Betty, Yari and others, sorry ladies, the names escaped me 8. Felix – pool pizza 9. Super nice cleaning lady, jardineros, and carritos’ drivers 10. Managerial staff, concierage 11. And many, many others. Jack and Lilibeth do appreciate your hard work, thank you for making our vacation special and hope to see you again soon. We’ll come back to Valentin Perla, not just for the playa but for the impeccable service that you provide. Your bosses should be very proud of you. We stayed in Perla during the low season so the food choices were limited but we never went hungry. For the same reason evening entertainment was scaled down but present. Bugs didn’t bother us too much, it’s a good idea to bring a good spray, oh and a flashlight. We didn’t have any major complaint’s and few minor issues (remote control stopped working and safety box malfunctioned) were resolved within 10 minutes of our call to the reception. Impressive. All in all, we were very happy to stay at Perla Blanca and will go back. Gracias amigos i amigas

Having just returned from Valentin Perla Blanca, we could definitely recommend this resort. This time of year is low season and the resort is currently hosting very few guests. We really didn’t feel that we were missing out on anything. Half of the resort was closed entirely, and some of the à la carts were not in operation. The food was plentiful and there didn’t appear to be any shortages whatsoever. The main entertainment stage was not open during our visit, but there were many entertainers provided in the main lobby by the massive centre bar and sometimes even in the buffet restaurant. The beach here as many have talked about a simply amazing. They claim the beach here is ranked as one of the top 10 in the world. I wouldn't doubt that for a second and can't imagine it being any better. To the right of the resort you can walk for probably three or 4 km and most of it will be by yourself. The beach in front of the hotel is amazing as well. This is the best beach we’ve ever been on and we have been to plenty. Only one of the beach bars and grills was open while we were there, but the staff were great and did a great job serving the few current patrons that were there at the slow time of year. The famous lobby bar didn’t disappoint either. The drinks, cappuccinos, and mostly the staff that worked there were amazing. The rooms are a little bit smaller than some of the resorts, but well laid out and and clean. I guess it’s a good thing that the only negative comment I might have is that the pillows were on the firm side and obviously I quibble! Some may also find the bus ride being about one hour and 45 minutes from the airport a bit long but we had a great bus driver and informative and funny guide. It went by quickly. For us it was worth it the litlle extra bus time. For some maybe not. The pool bar with the pizza bar was great. The mutil-level pools were clean and well-maintained. There was lots of shade, nice palapas, I also have to commend the grounds staff...WOW - so many beautiful trees, flowering shrubs and all kinds of interesting flora. All of it maintained beautifully. Spa, gym..even with low occupancy right now, nothing was lacking. Overall, it was a great experience and the week was over far too soon. We will gladly return.

Great beach , really good accommodations incredible staff, food was quite good , not amazing but very good, biggest disappointment was only 30-40 people there on our week but it did make for a very relaxing quiet week

The people were amazing. Kind, and ready to help. The food was poor. At times it tasted like it was from the day before. The beef is tough. At times no vinegar available. Bananas not available. I was not impressed by the food in the à la carte restaurants Toilet paper and soap not available in the toilets on the ground, so bring your own. What was available: eggs, at times boiled. You could stand in line for an omelette. They were good. Bread was good. Fruit was available but not a big choice. Papaya was good. Pineapple seemed unripe and white.

It was very lovely, staff was very friendly and liked that they took our canadian money for tips. The food was great, rooms were great, bar staff always smiling, lovely people. It was out 3rd time there, we will definitely be back. Thank you

What's not to like about the Valentin? Everything comes together to offer the perfect location for sun and fun - the stunning lobby that is the hub of the resort, the beautifully maintained grounds, the huge pool area with 2 pools and lots of shade, lovely appointed, clean rooms, seemingly endless beach with powdery white sand, several bars, buffet offering good food, and the staff - well, they were the icing on the cake. We are well aware that Cuba and the locals, are suffering from lack of basic life comforts/supplies and feel humbled that every effort was made to ensure we had "enough". Thank you.

Stayed for a week there wife ky husband and have zero complaints. The staff are absolutely amazing and go above and beyond for anything you my need. Amazing excursion to sign up for or activites to participate in. So much fun had ??❤️

Spent an unforgettable week from March 18 -March 25 2025. Rooms were clean, food was plentiful, no shortages whatsoever. Could always find something good to eat. Drinks were cold, Cappuccinos were excellent, especially at the Lobby Bar. Beach may be the best yet, and we have been to Cuba 20 plus times! Most importantly, the staff were genuine, so very professional, and took great pride in everything they did. Only complaint would be the pillows weren’t great, but we always bring our own, so not a huge deal. For anyone on the fence about this resort, or Cuba in general, do not hesitate. You are safe, and you will be well taken care of. We will most definitely be back.

Amazing staff, definitely have our favorite bartenders n can't wait to see them again. Most beautiful beach I've ever seen in my life, the chicken sandwich at the bar n grill is a must try, buffet was great, no shortages of anything... very impressed.. only downside was the long drive from airport but that's ok beer was available for purchase to get our vacation started ..

The resort was beautiful. Beaches were like a post card. Staff were amazing, supper friendly and kind. Coffee every morning was delicious. Rooms were perfect. Had water in the fridge and new towels everyday. Would definitely go back.

We are return guests of Valentin Perle Blanca in Cayo Santa Maria. We love this resort. There's no shortage of food, booze, exceptional staff, entertainment. We had 30 degree weather for full week. Looking forward to returning.

We had a wonderful week in sunny Cayo Santa Maria with the most beautiful beach, great pools and well maintained grounds. The staff were so friendly and helpful always giving service with a smile! Lots of food to choose from. The cappuccino was very good and of course the drinks were plentiful ! Will go back again in the near future.

Pretty decent hotel. Great pool area. Fantastic beach. Not a bad food it’s just repetitive. Great service and super friendly staff. Clean room. No power outages. Entertainment every night with excellent service at the main lobby bar with great selection of drinks.

False advertising on their website to say the least, complete waste…thanks trip central for selling this resort stay to my wife and I. I wish I didn’t go to this resort because it stressed us out, so much for a vacation ?????

I want to start off by saying the bartenders and waiters are amazing and the beaches are beautiful. Unfortunately, it feels like the resort is cutting back on costs with food and entertainment. I wish we didn’t have to ask for necessities such as towels and bedding to be changed and that amenities were open such as the gym and the theatre where performances were supposed to happen. The food was re used throughout the day and the wifi was always “down”.

I have been to Cuba several times over the past 10 years and this will be my last visit! I understand that over the years, with the Pandemic and several natural disasters, Cuba has been impacted by supply chain issues and lack of availability of food resources, so my expectations have always been managed. What I did not expect, was the lack of care, and poor customer service (that has never been my experience in the past). Half the resort was abandoned, with only 1 pool open, several of the units without railings (on higher floors) and other cafe's and amenities closed with no notice posted or any email going out to advise about these closures. The customer service at Valentin Perla Blanca was awful! from not providing basic hygiene throughout the resort (including our rooms - we slept with sand in our bed, no clean towels, and NO TOILET PAPER FOR DAYS). The common areas had broken glass in the lobby bar area for 2 days straight, and the glass stair railing was broken and not taped off for safety. Let's talk food services: The buffet restaurant had the same menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with eggs not available for half our trip. I understand there are shortages, but the resort was only at 20% capacity and the neighboring resorts that we visited had more food options than this one. The buffet staff would hold back food from the guests then proceed to take that same food out for themselves near the end of service (eg. bacon was not provided to guests for breakfast, but we later saw the employees helping themselves). The staff would start eating while guests were dining, and delay service because they were counting tips. The a la carte was 1 per day, with 3 themes rotating for three days. The food was mis-labeled which can create a problem with those with allergies and/ or intolerances. This was the case in both the buffet and the menu at every a la carte. Entertainment: There was none! period! The staff in-charge of entertainment sat around and did not provide any entertainment at the pool, at the beach or in the evening with the exception of the occasional dj that played the same loop off his laptop. No sports available during the day (volleyball, etc) and nothing on the daily schedule was actually available, EVER, with no reason provided as to why there was no entertainment throughout the day. The entertainers would just walk around asking guests to leave them toiletries and medications as their are shortages. Rooms: Phone not working throughout our trip (we requested a fix 3 different times and nothing was done), no water in the room for a few days (we had to purchase the water at the small gift shop to brush our teeth), our door would not lock for an entire day (it took them 8 hours to fix it), our sink kept leaking as it was not attached to actual plumbing and the water ran into a hole in the floor. The room also did not have many of the items listed on the TripCentral ad such as tea and coffee makers, etc in the room. Beverages: Only rum, beer and white wine was available. We had visited the One Gallary and Paradesis (right next door to us) and they had more variety of alcoholic drinks, including vodka, red , rose and white wine, and other malts and spirits. It was evident that this resort was staffed with employees that chose not to make available the food, and amenities that were supposed to be available to paying guests. Managers and Customer service reps were not helpful in resolving any off the issues and were very difficult to reason with. We did not get anywhere near what we paid for and all the false advertising not only makes me not want to ever book this resort, but also lose faith in Trip Central for their accuracy in what they advertise. Never again! Good bye Cuba!

I have been to this resort in 2016 and 2018, on my return end of April 2024 it was a huge surprise how run down the resort is. First off, we new there may be shortages, but not the amount we received (no toilet paper most time, same food breakfast, lunch and dinner, nothing to drink other than coke, rum usually only had dark, whisky and juice - that’s it - half the time they didn’t have enough water to give you). The customer service was absolutely horrible! We make the best out of the trip and understood the shortages, but when going off resort to others they had everything that this resort said there are shortages. We booked a late check out and upon going to our room on the last day, they said we didn’t. Front reception didn’t want to give the keys back and said we had to pay per hour, even though we were told we would have no charge due to my third time returning. After speaking with customer service, she automatically was yelling at me when I was explaining what we were told by the other representative and said that would never be said. And expected me to tell her the other representative name and what she looked like. Front reception said customer service didn’t tell them and that’s our job to do that. Lastly, when we finally checked out after having to rush to pack up our things (thinking we had late check out) they cut our access to the wifi and said sorry your checked out (we still have 3.5 hours before the bus was going to pick us up). The pool with swim up pool bar was yellow, and no sheets were ever changed the entire we we were there, half the time we didn’t have any shower towels either. Much more has happened and more to be said, but ultimately this resort needs to shut down, absolutely awful!

Perla Blanca, when we first got there it was peaceful and quiet. A beautiful sea view on the third floor (minus a plastic white bag hanging off a branch of a tree). In the morning we went to the beach on the east side of the resort which connects to the nature reserve. Gorgeous beautiful beaches, there were a whole bunch of small huts close to where the vegetation started. Unfortunately there were broken lounge chairs all over the place, you couldn’t find one with some damage to them. There were pieces thrown in the back of the huts, it looked like nobody’s been taking care of this beach for years. Other than that there wasn’t that much garbage (mainly left behind in the huts by sh*tty tourists I assumed). But it was tolerable since Cuba has been going through a lot lately. We tried to clean up as much as possible. The second night we were watching some music videos on the tv at the second volume setting. At around 9 pm someone banged on our door with their fist very aggressively, I opened the door and it was our neighbour from Quebec furious because his flight was at 4am. Security came and calmed him down. Regardless of what we went through, we turned off the TV. Besides they were gone at 4am. The rest of our stay was good with the exception of some of the loud out bursts from neighbours shouting cheerful at one another from each others balconies, again francophones most likely from Quebec or New Brunswick, And then there was all the singing at the bar. They all got severely drunk, about I’d say 30 of them all signing to the point you couldn’t have a conversation with someone. One night I was awoken to some old guy barfing in the hall way. Than there was an incident at the pool where one francophone decided it would be a good idea to rip off a palm branch off a beautiful palm tree. Oh and the public urination by the Francophones, day and night. So my conclusion is, I will never go back there. We had fun because of each others company and the beaches were nice but the tourists from Quebec or New Brunswick really ruined it. I’m not generalizing that all people from Quebec or New Brunswick are like that, but the groups of people that were at our resort were some of the most disrespectful pig headed people I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame.

The resort is beautiful and the staff are incredibly friendly. Our room needed an over hall but nothing a painter and good cleaning chemical wouldn't fix. Will go back for sure. Food was extremely good for Cuba and in this price range, one day we had no milk and no meat, next day we had milk, bacon and fresh LOBSTER! One guy eat three of them. Really, I know its all inclusive but why eat so much.... It really is a great resort. Extremely good bang for your buck! Oh, 24 hour bar/snack bar have the best staff you will ever find. Still has the same chef that we remember meeting in 2015 when it first opened and not forgetting Angel, who was a kind gardener in 2015 when he picked us a coconut and filled it full of rum. Now, Angel is a pool boy, no just kidding he maintains the pool area.

We had a great week. The best part was the BEACH!! Best beach I've ever seen, and I've been to 15 countries. Pulled pork sandwiches at the beach grill for lunch were incredible!! Resort was only half opened. No nightly entertainment. No toilet paper in public washrooms. Recommend taking small tissue packages to keep on you! Lobby is beautiful and clean. Great coffee. A la carte restaurants are nothing special at all, buffet was better. Snack bar had fish sticks, homemade potato chips, small chicken sandwiches and little potato croquettes. Quiet/relax pool was closed, only one party pool was opened, but it was great. Lots of entertainment and music at the pool. Even a foam party one afternoon. Pool bar/music closed at 5pm. Buffet was quite bland, but we didn't go hungry. Great calamari and mussels. Omlettes everyday! Great sausages one day. Rooms were good. Beds and pillows terrible. I recommend bringing a pillow! And snacks! The people were awesome, we had a great week. Hoping they get back to full operation soon. This resort was much better back in 2018. But overall worth the price we paid. The beach itself was worth it!!

This is our 2rd time at this resort ( at least 10 times of 2 week stays) . First and foremost you need to start with this is Cuba , and they are having a very hard time with their economy . The shortages are real . We had no water in our room from time to time (resort wide) no coffee , Cuban rum , eggs , bacon , chicken , bathroom tissue . But if you came to Cuba this should be no real shock . After saying all this there is no other Caribbean place we have gone with such lovely genuine people NONE !!!! The beaches are the very best , no seaweed ,white sand , shade . Food is plentyful , you will never be hungry . As for the Cuban rum , it comes and goes but there is lots of other options. The resort is gorgeous , well kept . If you give it a chance it may become a place you yearn to visit over and over.

3rd visit to this resort. Unfortunately Cuba is experiencing many shortages which has impacted this visit. Shortages of many items like eggs,bread,chicken,rum and other necessities made this trip less enjoyable than other visits. The worst shortage was toilet paper for 3 days. Fantastic beach !

This hotel was very well kept.. rooms were clean and had no issues getting water daily and our room always had toilet paper! Food was decent, very repetitive, but did not go hungry ever. All the workers went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. The beach was stunning, spent several days enjoying the beauty.

This is one of many times that I have visited Cuba and I have to say that this resort was one of the best that I have been to. There was consistent food, no power outages, always had lots of hot water for showers, the chambermaid was excellent and the balance of the staff went out of their way to make this a special trip to remember. The only thing that I would critique about (because nothing is perfect) is the evening entertainment. It could have used a little more thought and composition. the beaches were great, the water (sea and pool) was warm, there were lots of pool activities, the drinks were plenty and they used the best of the best beverage options available. On top of this, we booked with Sandra Taylor who we have used in the past and she is incredible. Goes above and beyond, ensures the best prices, ensures the best flights and connections and has a very cheerful and chipper attitude all the times I have spoken with her. First time in Cuba, people are amazing, beaches safe unbelievable. I understand Cuba is struggling. Have I had a better bed and pillow yes. Have I seen a cleaner pool yes. We didn't starve and we drank what they had. I feel with what supply they had could have been better distributed throughout the different bars and eating spots. Quite a bit of more walking than expected so depending on your mobility that could be an issue. Will I go back definitely if the supply Improves. Bring snacks for sure. 24 hr Snack bar was terrible to say the least. Rice and chicken or rice and fish. Nothing else all week. 1 beach grill had some lunch time grilled chicken limited times. Like they told me don't go for the food and there right.

This place was perfect ! We had a great view from our room, always had an extra bottle of water, and the room was clean(special thanks to Maria). The food was some of the best I’ve had in Cuba. All the staff was always smiling and cheerful, ready to help you any way they could. Will definitely return to Valentin Perla Blanca!

Pro's, Well laid out pool areas with ample amounts of sitting/lounging areas to suit all preferences. Resort is also well laid out providing multiple options for relaxing, dinning, and or entertainment. Vast beautiful beach areas with tons of room or privacy if desired. Grounds are well kept and clean. Con's, Beds are a bit worn or hard and pillows are hard. Longest bus ride from the airport. Last off and first on so a lot of stops at other resorts. Gym is weak.

The beach was amazing! The staff was superb! Only thing I would negatively state is no shows in the evening! Very clean and grounds were kept immaculate. Drinks were served and always with a smile. There were people to book excursions almost everyday.

Valentin Perla Blanca is beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed our week there. The bars were stocked, food was good especially the a la cartes and the grill at the beach. The beachfront is amazing and the entertainment was very good. Hope to return soon.

Spent a week at Perla Blanca from Feb21-28, 2024. Beach, sun, and ocean were fantastic. Hotel staff were all kind and courteous. Yes there were shortages of various things, but this is to be expected for the Island of Cuba where their primary revenue stream is tourism and ALL resorts are recovering from the "COVID Pandemic". If you want "fine dining", go to the south of France or Italy. If you want beautiful quiet beaches, great ocean water, and somewhere to "unplug" for a week, come here. All things considered it was an enjoyable stay.

Perla Blanca is a beautiful place. Nicest beaches I have ever been too. People of Cuba are fantastic and so kind. The hotel has everything you could want to make your stay in paradise exactly that. It's a hidden gem on Cayo Santa Maria.

The food is great- it is cuba so you have to come with an understanding and willingness to try different food than your usual. The seafood they served was absolutely the best part. Freshest calamari I have ever had in my life. Entertainment team worked really hard koodoos to all of them. The only problem was the repetitiveness. Maybe through in a karaoke or some more engaging activities in between for a change. We got to see the other resorts on the island and came to love our own much better. The ocean and beach get A+ no need for my words. Very friendly staff. Keep in mind if you want to see the city and the “real” cuba you have to leave island and that’s 48km. So renting a car is a must, or get one of the excursions. We rented a car because we like having the freedom. Excursions don’t take you deep into the city, only main squares. If you like to learn about people, their living conditions and real cuba I highly recommend renting a car for one day and go to Cambarien and Remedios. Overall I recommend.

You can not have high expectations when going to Cuba as there are shortages of some food items,but you will never starve. Valentin Perla Blanca has the best staff,especially the Lobby Bar -Victor,Adislen and Sarah, along with all the others, work as an efficient team. Lobby bar entertainment ,prior to dinner, is top notch. Bbq at the beach is fantastic! Need to get more chairs at the beach,as many broken. Second time there and will go back.

The hotel staff is amazing and go above and beyond. The management needs to work on safety for its staff. Staff are often working in unsafe conditions. Dancers forced to dance on floor in bare feet where a glass was broken instead of dancing on the stage. Several dancers got glass in their foot! The food this time was below par but the a la carts were delicious as always. Taking care that buffet food isn’t left out too long would be important. A few times the juice was served rotten/ spoiled. Likely saved from another meal. Toilet paper is a necessity in public washrooms and in the room. It was unacceptable to run out. Thankfully we brought some from home. For thousands of dollars spent on a trip I expected toilet paper to be included.

This was our first trip to the Valentin perla blanca in Cayo santa Cuba. This resort has a lot if plus. But there is a few minus. Food is the minus. The beach is the best I've seen so far in Cuba. At the Valentin to the right, it become a naturist reserve. No reports that way and amazing beach untouched. The staff is amazing. I want to return soon.

We just came back from Cayo Santa Maria Valentin Perla Blanca. Spend a week there, unfortunately whether was not too good and windy, but beaches were still amazing and clean. We did not waste a day at the beach despite the wind. Hotel stuff is amazing friendly and helpful. Especially at the Tea corner bar. Keiny is absolutely perfect and very customer oriented, as well as Ailene and Sara Antonella. They did a wonderful job on serving clients. At the lobby bar Yari did gave us an excellent service, but because every evening it was too loud we did not spend much time there. We stayed at the building #30 and our maids Ailen and Dayanis cleaned our room every day very well. Thank you, girls. Food. Considering a bad economic situation in Cuba, food was very good. Have a lot of cheese, papaya and even veggies. I was surprised be taste of tomatoes and one evening there were even cucumbers. Seafood and meat were good too. Our servant at the buffet were Mayelky and Yerandy, always helpful and with the smile. At the Snack bar Yanexy did a good job serving us. In general we are very pleased with the service and hotel.

This resort is absolutely stunning compared to others we drove by . Its light and bright lobby is so inviting. The main Bar has everything and the service is great. The coffee bar is the best in the entire place - you can get ice coffees, Spanish coffees, Irish coffees, Cappuccino, etc. etc. We had coffee there every single day. The beach is stunning - white sand with crystal clear greenish blue water. No fish, No junk, No weeds. Each beach area has a bar and a snack bar which makes hamburgers, chicken sandwiches and cuban pulled pork sandwiches. My favorite were the burgers. Lots of chairs to sit on at the beach. The pools were fantastic as well with lots of chairs. Its a huge resort over 1000 rooms but we went during slow time so probably only about 250 rooms rented. I am not sure i would want to be there with over 2000 people. I suspect when its full you would have a hard time getting a chair at the pool or the beach (not sure !). We will be going back there. The food is typical of all the resorts - there is plenty to eat but depends on your taste buds. Its after all Cuban and not North American food preparation. That is what people forget. There is a shortage of Toilet paper in public washrooms - so bring a couple of rolls from home and always take it with you on the resort. Your room will have toilet paper so not to worry there. The rooms were a good size and the balcony was great. We did not upgrade but had standard Gardenview room which was very nice. There are cats on the resort - so i made sure we fed them during our stay. I took my leftover food in a zip loc baggie and fed them as i saw them.

The staff are very friendly in the dining places and the bars. Lounge bar was great. Snacks at the pool perfect 24hrs. Beautiful beach. The one downside - reception manager / resort liaison. Not very helpful at all. Sounds petty but zero of the public washrooms had toilet paper. Guess some kind of shortage. And the rooms only had one roll. You had to ensure even if a few sheets left for the maids to replace or they would leave it like that. The public washrooms never did get any toilet paper. Several frantic husbands trying to find some for their wives. Due to the time of the year only half of the resort was open - approx 200 guests only in a 1000 plus room resort. So the entertainment instead of the theatre was just in the lounge. Still good though. Christmas dinner was very good.

Upon arrival we were greeted with kindness and smiles. Check-in was a breeze. A short golf cart ride later were in our spacious room that would serve us well for 10 days to come. The grounds were the best kept we have seen in our 12 previous various resort visits. The beach is without saying the best in the Caribbean. The food was good this time. My friends at tripcentral.ca helped us along with planning this trip and I thank them, specifically Robin Murray. We don't normally go to the same resort twice but we might change that policy regarding the Valentin.

Great resort and location. Very lovely beach, beautiful! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was surprisingly good. Cuba is unfortunately suffering from a lack of amenities which is of no fault of the resort but it would be wise to pack items to bring. ie toilet paper

The hotel was clean. Food was great. Staff was wonderful the best beach I ever been at it is breathtakingly beautiful The bus ride was little too long from the airport but the tour guide was great telling us about the villages and the way people live

This was our first time to this resort. It is very large at over 1000 rooms but is only half open (just since November 2022 post Covid). Check in was easy and we were in Building 30. The room was large , clean and basic ...refrigerator with water only. The food was VERY Good with lots of breakfast options . We had lunch at the beach (grilled chichen sandwiches ..yum or at the 24 hour snack bar. The evening meal we ate at the Frangipani buffet with so many choices...pork, chicken. fish , shrimp, lobster ,pasta, and so many vegetable options soups,salads, desserts. You could NEVER be hungry. So many swimming pools , and maybe one of the most gorgeous white sand beaches we have seen. NO SEAWEED at all and 3 beach bars. The only downside was no beach washrooms. The grounds are gorgeous and lots of places to walk. There was live entertainment most nights at both the lobby bar and the buffet. Also the is a TEA CORNER to get specialty coffee or a quiet drink. Great live entertainment in the Theater and fashion shows in the lobby. There are electric transport available to shuttle you around in desired. We had a wonderful 2 weeks and would probably go again. We met lots of folks that had been to this resort 10 , 12 & 17 times , guess that says a lot.

We got this resort at a discounted price. Currently, selling for 2000$. Value not there for that price. Our air conditioner kept us cool but very noisy and leaked water, a lot of water. We had buckets and towels in the floor. Asked 5 times for someone to address this but never was. People were very friendly and appreciated the tips! No shortages of food or drinks.

The hotel is great. The buffet was good but shortage on some food supplies. The staff was great and friendly. The only issue we had was that the housekeeping was helping herself to our Canadian change we left on the television area. We left her the gift and tip money on our bed for her but we were really shocked the she helped herself to our change. We never ever had this happened before on our trips to Cuba.

It was amazing! The rooms were great, they had a bit of a hiccup with key cards the first two days we were there because their system was down, but that can happen anywhere. We made the best of those two days by preplanning ahead of what we'll do for the day. The bell boys were outstanding driving everyone to their rooms and opening everyone's doors because of the key card situation. They worked very hard and were amazing. Love the set up of the whole place. Pools were great and the pool bar and snack bar was great. From the main bar, buffet, restaurants, to the night shows to the disco tech, it was amazing and the staff was outstanding. The best staff we could ever have. They were always in great spirits with everyone. It was amazing. I really enjoyed my week there.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. Buffet was delicious with top notch food. Fish, cheeses,turkey, chicken, made to order pasta and breakfasts. Special coffee bar and 24hr service. Beach was semi-private and clean with no-one bothering. Late night dancing and shows

Just want to start by saying that I had no issues the ppl are friendly and will try to help you the best they can . Pool and beach and both beautiful and Félix at swim up bar dandy guy and can mix drinks . Food is good you won’t go hungry , shortages on eggs one day bacon the other etc / no condiments bring your own . I over heard a few ppl say no running water in there room , before bell boy leaves check your water make sure toilet flushes and air conditioner works , in short a great resort but if prices exceed over 1300 for this resort I will not be going back , prices to Cuba are getting outrageous and I will be going elsewhere for 1600

We went To Valentin Perla Blanca during the third week of February 2022. We had a great time. The staff were very nice and helpful. We got the privilege package which we felt was worth it as it included: premium drinks, separate bar/lounge area, private concierge, a lobster dinner, a half hour massage, private area on the beach, a bottle of rum. We found the food to be very good and no shortages of any foods, alcohols or mixes. One issue we had was that in the public washrooms in the main building, sometimes there was no toilet paper so we always carried a roll on us! The beach was wonderful and we spent most of our time there. We very much recommend the resort!

There was a breathtaking view as we entered up the lobby steps, looking past the wonderfull bar out to the ocean beyond. The staff members were pleasant, friendly and always willing to help. Food was much better than expected and gave us enough options to avoid the boredom of eating the same things. Rooms were clean but need some upgrades and TLC. The pool was a nice area and kept clean, with a variety of areas to sit and relax. The pool workers provided cushions which helped as the chairs are a little worn out. It was not too busy anywhere as the resort was only at about 20% capacity. Overall a worthwhile experience!

In a country that is suffering, this resort & its staff give their guests the best of what they have. They are always cleaning, & smiling! The gardens are lovely. The entertainment crew are friendly & high energy, the dancers are spectacular. Although they spray for flies/fleas, bring insect repellent & after-bite. Don’t be picky about the food when Cubans may be starving- there is plenty for tourists: lots of pork & chicken, delicious rice dishes, lentils & chickpeas, cold cuts & cheeses, and some fruits (pineapple, guava, papaya) & some veggies (potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, eggplant). The waitstaff & kitchen crew try to please (but need to use a bit less salt sometimes). Bring your own “water” bottle for drinks; to cut down on waste/cups. The beaches truly are the best in the world- so relax & enjoy. I’ve been twice and can’t wait to go back!

Excellent service ….staff is amazing , weather was excellent and resort was kept clean Best beaches in the world . Entertainment was really good and no shortage of food at this resort.. over all I give this a 4 out of 5

Excellent great room. Grounds were very nice.staff were terrific. Poolside was very well organized. Needed to be able to get to others areas with very little difficulty. Would recommend this resort to any one looking for a Cuba Holiday. Would go back again.

For the price we paid for 10 days ($1139), expectations were actually exceeded. The weather & beach were fantastic so that was another bonus. Pools are great but the cleaning of them & frequency could be improved. Only half the resort was open but plenty of selection when it comes to food. We always found something good to eat although the selections were the same pretty much each day and items cold on buffet. We had some standing water issues in our building just down from our room and thousands of insects covered the entire floor for the entire 10 day stay. We notified the front desk but only two days the water was mopped up. There were a couple of unused rooms leaking water out so the water just returns to the hallway each day and then thousands of bugs sit in the water, it was disgusting! Pros: beach, pools, selection of food, huge buffet, nice friendly workers, Cons: bugs, wifi, food-basic, no vodka the entire week, no beer a few days, lots of smokers everywhere, dirty pools, rooms basic,

The staff and services are amazing from the minute we arrived to the last day on checking very efficient. The hotel, restaurants, and room are up to standard in comparison to other resorts. We were frustrated waited a long time in line booking a la cart dinner. I wish they have an online systems we can book in advance before our arrival.

We went to Valentin, because of great reviews about the beach. Unfortunately, big rocks were all over the beach and the start of the sea. We arrived at 1AM, but the room was clearly not ready: fridge was empty, no beach towels, only 2 single beds (we were 3). Half the resort was left to ruin. The other half was good. We moved to Memories, thanks to the Sunwing representative, there we had a wonderful beach, and great service.

The west side was open, east side still mostly closed. The open side and common areas are in great shape and the beach is awesome. The best quality of this resort is definitely the staff. They are so welcoming and friendly, it seems to put all guests in the same frame of mind. I've made several friends. The food is good for Cuba, few shortages. The lobby bar, snack bar and pool bars are always a great place to visit. Rooms are basic but who goes south to sit in the room? Excellent entertainment, beach parties and 24/7 food / drink. I can't wait to get back there :)

Grounds need alot of work. Very long grass by our building. Don't think that the grass has been cut since the resort has reopened. Only one show in theater in the week that we were there. We've been to this resort in 2017 but resort has gone downhill alot since then. Very friendly staff. Impossible to get maintenance to fix anything in our room. Toilet was running all week and 1/2 inch space around entire door frame.

Everything was great. Water runs short sometimes (for the shower and the sinks). Wasn't much of a problem though Great beach, good drinks, fun entertainment, and lovely staff. Bugs can get a little bad, but that's everywhere 😂

An amazing job of reopening a resort after 2.5 years ! The food was better than expected and the current staff well trained and courteous. One of the top 10 beaches in the world ! Note that there were a few mosquitos so take bug spray. Some liquor items (premium brands of alcohol as previously available: vodka, tequila, Baileys) were not available with the Alegance Package Some buffet items were missing (no decaf coffee, orange juice). Anything you can bring for the staff is greatly appreciated. Canadian coins cannot be exchanged by the staff at Cuban banks and American money must be sold on the “black market” Tip with Cuban pesos.

Very friendly and relaxing atmosphere. The staff was amazing, very kind and attentive. The rooms and public areas were clean and as expected. Free wifi wasn't expected but was a nice bonus. The beach and pool were awesome, lots of different areas to explore each day (there are a few separate beaches and mini pools within one pool area). The food was so much better than I expected (I kept hearing the food in Cuba wasn't the best and I am a picky eater but I liked everything I ate). 10/10 will be returning and would recommend!

We have been in this resort four times before but this time was different. The resort just opened after covid so half of the resort was still closed. We received a la carte dinners every night and the food was very good. Not the same with the drink selection at the bar, which was very basic. But the bartenders were excellent and entertaining as always, and we had a good time at the bar every day. The biggest change was that Cuba devaluated their currency and the only acceptable payments anywhere was credit cards and cash for which they used conversion rate 1 CAD = 0.67 USD. The biggest surprise of them all was that the price of a bottle of rum at the resort was about 30% higher than at the airport. Over all it was a good trip. Sun was shining every day and the empty beaches were absolutely amazing.

The resort was at 10% occupancy when we arrived. It reopened ( after Covid) 12 days before our arrival. Needless to say, we were treated really well and the resort property/ beach was beautiful. Was disappointing that we booked “ privilege package” because we did not know about the low occupancy. This was a waste of 500 per person and not necessary .Wish travel agent had told us.

Excellent staff vacation was from nov 11-18 2022 when we got there we had just found out that the resort had reopened on nov 1 WE HAD RESERVED A FEW MONTHS PRIOR AND WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE RESORT WAS STILL CLOSED ?????? Because of nov 1 opening some services were not opened Buffet restaurant closed all week but opened on nov 17 our last full day. Only 2 a la carte restaurants opened but they changed their theme every day It was difficult to get our Lobster dinner as it was cancelled the day we made the reservations(wednesday) thank goodness we were able to get it on our last night Not all bars had the proper inventory of alcohol example the pool bar did not have vodka or tequila until later in the day Tomatoes and tomato juice were non existent Bacon available 3 out of the 7 days I understand that it's probably taking time for them to replenish inventory Also there were only 160 guest booked for the week which is less than 10% capacity Overall this is the best cuba resort i have done

We arrived at the hotel late at night.. nobody to direct us or help with our luggages.we received our room key and waited a long time for assistance or direction for our room but none available so we walked around the resort with our luggages in the very dark night with no clue where to go, being bitten by a storm of bugs. Once we finally found our room. It was very dirty. Toilet paper pasted on the bathroom wall beside the toilet. The sheets had blood on it and lots of sand. There was even a smashed mosquito on the wall on top of my bed. We did not gain weight at this resort.. I was not very impressed with the food either. Not to much option. There was wieners in almost everything. Lots of wieners. No slush for our drinks either . So warm drinks. Staff was nice, beach is very beautiful and pools also. Not much lighting at night and we had no more bugs for the rest of the week. A group of My friends said that was their favorite resort in Cuba But after my experience , they are thinking twice about going back after Covid.

We arrived to the resort with zero guidance. After we received our room key we waited with no assistances or directions to get to our room. We roamed around the resort with our luggages in the dark getting bit by bugs non stop. Once we finally got in our room it was filthy. There was toilet paper on the wall, sheets were dirty and very dusty. Majority of the food items were unavailable and hot dogs was in mostly everything. The bugs were only awful the first night no complaints afterwards. A la Cartes were great. Weather and beach were nice as well.

Service was not good , no soap and no toilet paper in washrooms. Telephone not working in room , would not be able to call in emergency. Room nice and clean. Took four days to get a working coffee machine. In the morning coffee cold most of the time. Excellent beach and pool. Food average. For non alcoholic guest not soft drink available most of the time.

The resort has beautiful grounds and gardens. Hotel room was very good. Concern with lack of hot water for the showers. Food was good. Lack of beer during the day was a concern. The staff were great! The Cuban people are so gracious and kind.

This was the perfect spot for our "5 sisters" reunion. The pool areas and gardens were outstanding. The dining experience was very enjoyable thanks to Julio, Carlxto & Pelly in the buffet dining room and Jorge in the pool restaurant. Also compliments to Yannaisy in the lobby bar and Tomas in the Beach bar. Your kindness and thoughtfulness were much appreciated. You all made our holiday very enjoyable and memorable. One thing I would have liked, was to have our towels changed at least halfway through our week stay.

The resort was great, the food was good and the staff was incredibly friendly. We loved our trip and would definitely go again. The beaches and the pools were amazing. Some of the amenities were closed, but we think it's because the resort was not fully booked.

This was a nice resort. However, had a few minor problems. Our room smelt musty and the pillows were wet from the humidity. We were on the bottom floor and had many bugs in our room since there was a gap between the door and ground. The pool area did not have enough shade and chairs, and the snack bar took about an hour to make a sandwich. On our last day there, we waited an hour and half for food just for them to tell us they had closed and could not make our meals. The restaurants had great food and our maid was lovely. The beach was also nice. Although, I wish the restaurants were open for longer than just 3-4 hours a day. There was plenty of entertainment during all times of the day, especially the lobby at night. I liked how they had servers taking drink orders on the beach and in the lobby.

The resort is one of the most beautifully landscaped properties in Cayo Santa Maria. The pools are incredible. We met some of the most welcoming staff in the serving staff like Calixo, Julio in the buffet and Fabian Daniel and Jorge at the pool snack bar. Thomas at the Ocean bar was a pleasure to meet. What lovely staff. Supplies were slim including what people feel are essentials. I love the Cuban people and was not disappointed again.

What a great resort. Plenary to eat at every meal, a cold drink is never very far as there is places everywhere. The pool was relaxing and the staff was more than willing to help with anything you needed. Beautiful beach to enjoy long walks, relaxing lounging. Clean rooms and hot water every day. Always something in the lobby in the evening to entertain.

We really enjoyed our time here. The staff are lovely and try very hard. The food was good and we never went to bed hungry. We enjoyed all of our a la cartes and the food was lovely. The beach here is beautiful and had lots of great beach walks. This has been my favourite Cuban resort thus far. The bus ride is long to the resort but interesting as you get to see lots of Cuba. Only complaint if you could call it that is a few times beer was hard to find but we adapted. Came home relaxed and happy! Please make sure you convert your CUC back to CND before you head to the airport. They are phasing the CUC out in April and the lineup at the bank in the airport is INSANE!

Great services from all employees. Older hotel but they try the best to accommodate. Beach and food had great varieties need French fries for under 30’s Bring condiments( salt,ketchup,Tabasco,salad dressing, etc.)

Really enjoyed the resort and all it had to offer rooms clean staff really friendly surroundings pleasant all in all an enjoyable week was had by all weather good pools lovely great beaches good service. Internet weak.

The accommodations were clean and beds comfortable. Beach is very large and well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. Landscaping beautiful. Buffet missing veggie variety, healthy cereal, no bacon and ran out of beer 2 days.

It is a very nice resort. Nice staff nice rooms. Great Beach and lots of pools. Great entertainment. Magic show a Michael Jackson show and much more. Typical Cuban food ok but of course not the selection we would see from 4 star resorts in other countries. Snack bar was good had chicken wings burgers pasta etc. No french fries though. Overall great hotel and stay would go back in a minute.

Not enough variety in food choices, the buffet is too small for the size of the resort. They were always running out of food at the buffet and the wait time was over 30 mins before it was replenished. Buffet and bars were always running out of supplies. Highlights, the staff, weather and beaches were amazing.

The hotel outside on the grounds definitely needs some maintenance and repairs, pools were both large and well maintained. Food was ok(but you know that in Cuba), hard to book a la carte restaurants. Rooms were very nice, clean well decorated.

Stayed in the Privilege Garden view junior suite bungalow 27. We were so close to the pool, lobby and, best of all, the gorgeous white sand beach. The ocean was beautiful...turquoise blue. Pelicans diving close to the shoreline as we frolicked in the warm water. The a-la-carte restaurants were great. I especially enjoyed the Spanish restaurant. Even the buffet was well stocked with a variety of different tasty dishes. Our hotel room was spacious and mini fridge filled daily with beer and bottled water. The 30 minute massage was so relaxing I booked another. And the service and attention of the staff was top notch. Will definitely return!

The hotel does not merit more than a 3 1/2 star. The grounds are not well maintained- broken glass, lack of visibility at night from insufficient lighting throughout complex walkways. Our room was clean and Alberto kept it very clean. Beach towel service was only available once a week to have it changed. Food is mediocre given the embargo and sanctions that are upon Cuba- lack of variety , items not available . Hygiene products were lacking in the bathrooms throughout the complex. Staff were very pleasant. Although if you wanted to have your bath towels or water replaced daily in your room you required to have a daily tip for the housekeeper. A lot of expected tipping throughout the complex for services that were to be considered all inclusive. The beach is magnificent

the beach was absolutely beautiful and the service remarkable. night entertainment was always fun and different and there was always something going on in the lobby. the only thing that didn’t make this trip perfect was the quality of food, however i never expect too much from resort food.

Beautiful beach, friendly staff, well kept grounds and very clean rooms. Pools were fantastic with lots of loungers for all! French and Italuan a la carte were fantastic and there was always something on the buffet for even finicky eaters.

Had a couple issues with rooms at the beginning, but they were very accomidating in getting it worked out. Food was actually really good compared to my last stay in Cuba. Best beach I've ever been to.

We enjoyed our stay at Valentin Perla Blanca, the beaches are beyond beautiful! The resort was larger than we anticipated but we didn’t mind the walking. The snack bars were amazing!! They had great burgers, mini pizzas and ham and cheese sandwiches. The buffet wasn’t very big so we mostly ate at the snack bar for breakfast and dinners when we didn’t have a la carte. Our room was tidy and we never had any issues, the staff were always friendly! Would stay again...wish we didn’t have to leave

The beach is phenomenal, food was really good, and the weather was amazing! We had a small leak from our air conditioning and the maid had it fixed before we even had the chance to report it. Amazing!

Wow. What a beach. Located beside a nature reserve, the beach stretched on and on and on. Gorgeous setting. Food was typical Cuba, not the greatest but who cares with scenery like this. The two hour bus ride was long after arriving at dusk but coming back the view was lovely at the front of the bus. All in all, wonderful Cuban people, great beach, nice pool set-up. We would recommend this hotel indeed.
