Let me start by saying I have been to several resorts in Jamaica and this one is not a five star resort. The main portion of the Breathless resort is across the street at their partner resort - Secrets Wild Orchid and St. James - no poolside service - rooms are rundown, showers in desperate need of a cleaning - buildings are tired and in need of paint - food is very disappointing - butler service is over rated,with the exception of Travis. Olivia was no where to be found. Staff seem to run the resort as their private party. There was no room on the dance floor as they take over all the night time activities in the lobby. Seem to be their personal party zone.

The hotel needs a refresh. The service was poor. There was not any pool side service and the entertainment was disappointing. It consisted of staff dancing with themselves. The only day we received service was on New Year’s Eve given management was present. I would recommend to management that they stay at this resort and experience first hand the service they receive and adjust accordingly. We also had to buy expensive wine if we wanted to participate in the fire show or reserve a seat at the rooftop restaurant for New Year’s Eve. These sentiments were shared by many guests from different parts of the world who travel to 5 star resorts.

Staff were fabulous. They are kind, friendly and very attentive. Butler service was fantastic. Restaurants and buffet very good. Very happy with my vacation at this resort. It was nice to be part of the Secrets resort also.

Don't waste your money here. Worst experience in Jamaica - and I've been here many times as a couple and with family. Hotel Grounds / Room : room technology didn't even work properly, jets in tub weren't working (we were in xhale club swimout room). Hotel grounds were always clean and looked nice. Staff: Could use customer service training at front desk. Was not impressed with check in/out and butler service. (Requested two things the entire trip from our butler and he was only able to fulfill one- we asked him to make a dinner reservation and to secure us a cabana ) Staff in dining areas and bar were not exceptional Entertainment staff were fine Cleaning staff was fine Entertainment: they turned the lobby into a club which was cool Food: This hotel boasts 5 restaurants? But there are 3 on site and not everything is open everyday. One location is used as two different restaurants. Ie. The main lobby bar had two stand up islands and that was considered another "restaurant". We went to two different restaurants on different nights and they both had the same menu lol The secrets side had a few more options but the Jerk cart was the only thing that tasted authentic and fresh. The food itself was underwhelming and VERY disappointing and sometimes stale (it felt like room service gave us chicken that was out all day, hard and stale) Rooftop: This is the saving grace of this resort. The view from here is truly beautiful and the sunset was amazing from here. Beach: the beach is located on the secrets side and its decorated with breathless colors and cabanas. There is also a bar on this side but all five days we were there never saw anyone serving drinks. We ended up going to secrets bars to get drinks. Overall I would say this is not a 5star resort and would not come back.

This hotel was extremely disappointing. After spending the past two years at the Breathless Riviera Cancun we had expectations of a similar experience. Knowing of course that Jamaica is a different country (we have visited before and enjoyed the people and beaches of Negril) we still thought the hotel quality would live up to the Breathless brand. It didn’t. The resort was dirty, the maintenance lacking. Considering this is a newer hotel it is in a poor state. Every fabric furnishing in the room and lobby surface was stained and there was a lot of damage to furnishings overall. The food was pretty good but sadly the service was really lacking. There was no pool service, we could never get a place to lay by the pool and the nightlife was very poor. The walk to the beach And the majority of restaurants on the secrets complex was long enough to be off putting. Stay at secrets if you like this location. You can still visit Breathless. There is no control between hotels and no wristbands.

My wife and I had an amazing time staying at Breathless. One word to describe the resort was luxurious. Few things that could be improved are room cleaning times, room service and nightly entertainment.

Food was ok, not great. The room in our hotel was “tired” multiple things were damaged: The door broke off in front of the fridge The fridge stock wasn’t that great. The fridge itself was broken. The shower leaked out the bottom of the glass at the floor. The hotel gym was FAR too small for the amount of equipment in the room, and the pictures I saw of the gym were ENTIRELY different than what was delivered. Room service food was deplorable quality. The beaches were nice but a bit of a walk from our room. I’d give it a 4 star rating at best. I’m unfortunately not as Impressed with the hotel as I’d hoped to be. Our room was close to the pool and getting to sleep early when we wanted to was almost impossible with the music playing. :( Also had to call the front desk multiple times to request more water bottles for the room. And they only showed up half the time I ordered them. We saw multiple different resorts while picking others up while going on excursions and they looked far superior. But most importantly, Beverly Russel of JTL tours was the best thing about the entire trip. She was fantastic. I’d recommend the hotel strictly to have the pleasure of working with her. 👍. So although I’ve left the “recommend this hotel to others” set at “no” ill be honest and say it’s 50/50

Very modern , very clean, Food delicious, great service. Unless you have VIP service you will not be able to get a decent bed with shade by the pool. Roof top restaurant delicious. A bit to much of a party vibe for my liking, but you were able to access the secrets resorts for quiet time.

This was a beautiful resort the grounds were amazing and very clean. The staff was very welcoming,polite and friendly. It was nice to have access to secrets guests were spread out throughout all the resorts seemed less busy. Location was perfect close to the airport. The only downside is the beach was a little rocky along the shoreline. The rooms are very modern and beautiful. We have been to many resorts around the world and this is one of the best we will definitely be returning.

The grounds were immaculate. The rooms where clean and well maintained by the cleaning staff. The "STAFF" are a fantastic group of employees, you should be proud to have them at your resort. Food variety and quality was excellent. My only negative comment is the restaurant opens at 7:30 a.m., much to late, 6:30 a.m. would be suitable for the early risers.

We (group of 12) stayed at Breathless Montego Bay from March 3 - 10/19. The resort was beautiful from the room to the grounds. Staff friendly and helpful. Close proximity to airport. Beautiful beach located across the street which was shared by all 3 resorts. The food was plentiful and delicious. Negative: No nightly entertainment directly on Breathless resort, entertainment was located at the adjacent resorts across the street and outside music on the Breathless resort was sometimes repetitive and loud. Otherwise fun was had by all.

Cleanest resort I have been to, food was amazing, staff were beyond friendly and did everything they could to accommodate you, grounds were beautiful..beaches also beautiful, rooms very modern and clean.. would definitely go again.

This resort is gorgeous and offers so many options - pools, beach several restaurants. Sat and watched a pod of dolphins feeding before dinner one evening. But the best of all is the staff who go out of their way to make your stay memorable. We were so very impressed. Never return to same location but will this time! Only negative is a lack of quiet spaces. Truly caters to a younger crowd.

The hotel: is more for the young at heart music is loud and not good. Food: is good in all restaurants a big variety. The World cafe is a great place for breakfast Buffett and lunch which is at secrets next door to breathless. Rooms: not the cleanest need improvement always had to ask for wash cloths etc. Employees: most were helpful and kind there were a few that had an attitude!!! Beach: is at Secrets gorgeous. Secrets next door is much quieter if you are looking for peace 👍🏻. Pools: Breathless : needs cleaning. Secrets: very clean. If you are going to any excursions ask many questions most importantly are pictures permitted on all my excursions many areas were not permitted very discouraging. The bewitched tour skip!!! waste of money. Dolphin cove excellent. Tips: was on going everywhere you turned the bus driver the guide, employees at the excursion they all tell you would be nice to get a tip but if not it’s ok they make you feel bad!!!! The owner needs to speak to all the employees of breathless to make sure that all visitors are getting A#1 service it is a costly place I paid $6,500.00 for 10 nights. Would I go back no . Would check for more options.

I will never go back there worst experience ever, customer service was not pleasant, make calls so many times for my room to be clean. The room I book for was not aworded to me put in small mosquito room. I’m still in pain from all the mosquitoeb bit. The worst

This Breathless resort is very modern looking and very upscale. It has all of the amenities you would look for in a 5 star hotel. It has only been up and running for just 1 yr. First the room, it has modern upscale styling to it with the latest amenities. The room has power operated drapes and a power operated privacy screen, if you prefer, that covers the three sided glass shower that goes from floor to ceiling with two large rain head shower heads. Hot tub on the balcony. It has an array of modern subdued led lighting some in different colors. The in- room safe and fridge are hidden/blended in behind cabinetry that flows in the room. The only issue is the in room safe is just off of the floor which makes it a bit difficult to get at the things at the rear of the safe.You may have to get on your hands and knees to reach them. There is free wifi throughout the resort with a tablet in your room for your use. A 65 inch TV is in the room as well. The beds are comfortable with which appears to have hybrid mattresses. The views are very nice. We stayed on the 4th floor of the 5 floor hotel. There is a 6th floor, (Roof) which has a bar, pool, hot tub and restaurant on it. The best views can be had from the 5 th floor which is for exhale club members and the 4th floor as well as some 3rd floor rooms. The first and second floor rooms are considered tropical views although all rooms face the pools and waterfront. The Breathless resort only has 150 rooms, which is a nice size. There are several pools. There is the main pool which is large and a smaller one between the large band shell structure which is where they have a foam party every day at 3.00-5.00 pm. This one is off limits and only used for the foam party. A hot tub beside the main pool is available. There is also a pool on the roof of the hotel with a hot tub as well as previously mentioned.The pool area is quiet during the daytime until the foam party starts up and then it become loud and the Tech music starts up. Guests from the Secret St James and Wild Orchid can join in the foam party which can get large at times. The restaurants on site are the Cuisine restaurant off the main lobby which is very good, which also has the breakfast buffet. The waiter we had was Mark. He was excellent and was eager to please and very dedicated and experienced. There was also the restaurant on the roof which served East Indian food at supper and Mediterranean food during lunch. Also there is a restaurant off the main pool called Fish Nets which had seafood. One night there is a special dinner there, called Chef's Surprise, that we were invited to at Fish Nets which included a 9 course meal. You don't know what you are going to get to eat. It was great food prepared by the chef. He explains everything during each course. If you are lucky enough to get invited to it, take advantage of the opportunity. Security is high here. You don't get in or out of the resort unless security sees you and asks your room number and where you are going etc. They are at the Skywalk entrance which is a covered bridge/walkway that joins the Breathless resort to the St James property. Security, also is all over the place watching. People at the Secrets locations with the Preferred designation can visit the complex at any time for meals etc., while the basic accommodations from the Secret property have to wait until 9.00 to visit. Breathless guests can access the Secrets property at any time for the beaches or the many restaurants on the Secrets' property. At the end of the St James Secrets Preferred property there is a Hard Rock Cafe for food and party atmosphere, if you choose, at your expense. Once again you have to go through Secrets security. Overall, very nice and very clean property. (They even scrub down the sidewalks every night.) It is about a 15-20 min drive from the airport. Breathless Montego Bay is a real 5 Star property, not a "supposed one". We have been to Breathless in Punta Cana and it doesn't measure up to this one. We have also been to Secrets St James MoBay 4 times as well. These properties in Montego Bay are very good as they are one of the best places we have been. We have been to many, many different properties all around the Caribbean and Mexico etc and this is our favorite one. That's why we have been coming back here this many times.

I visited Breathless Montego Bay with my partner at the start of May 2017. I understand the resort is in a "soft opening" and has only been open for about two months. I chose this resort for its proximity to the airport (15 minute bus in light traffic), access to Secrets next door (about a 5 minute walk to a restaurant or the beach), and a good experience at Breathless in Punta Cana. Breathless Montego Bay did not live up to my expectations and I would not go back unless many changes were made. The Resort: The resort is small (only 150 rooms) but beautiful. Clearly the resort is trying to minimize offerings and bridge off of Secrets next door- the system for doing this just hasn't been arranged well and established. The technology in the rooms is impressive but not terribly well planned (i.e. trying to figure out which of the many buttons is the light for the toilet in the dark). The room was perhaps the nicest I've been in but I worry that it may not last long as the idea was nice but the quality of workmanship is sloppy. Air conditioning was great but temp control was inconsistent. I really liked the control of the light colours and dimness in the room. Hot tub was great! You could sometimes hear the music from outside in the room (especially the saxophone one night). Parts of the resort were obviously very hastily built (i.e. paint coming off in the shower, paint spills from sloppy painting, no heat in the hot tubs outside). There was an active stream of water through several ceilings one rainy day- including one stream above the bar through a light fixture. The Breathless beach was small but beautiful and generally not crowded. There are a lot of rocks in the shallow water so be prepared to hear people yell "Ow! Ow! Ow!" as they try to get in the water. There was no waiter on the beach until the 6th day we were there. The bathroom at the beach is not properly lit and it was always a bit disconcerting to use the facilities when you can’t see anything. Staff and Entertainment: Staff was not friendly compared to other resorts I have been to- in fact I felt completely unwanted and unwelcome at times. I saw numerous cases where staff were rude to vacationers (including myself) and many cases where they just failed to meet the basic requests (i.e. I asked for a bowl or cup rather than a cone for ice cream and was told no and immediately dismissed). I think menus must be expensive because I witnessed many staff scold customers to “make sure you return that to the bin” (menu at the bar that was currently being used… at the bar), or “don’t get the menu wet”. Entertainment was awkward (a small team of people that would typically just dance amongs themselves) and mediocre. The circus act at Secrets and Breathless was great, but the regular entertainment team failed to find a purpose. Housekeeping was always consistent and friendly when I saw them in the halls. Maintenance failed to resolve a simple issue with our safe after more than 3 hours of attempting to get them to come (including arranging a specific time for them to come at their convenience- they did not show). I eventually fixed the problem myself and received no apology or sympathy. Communication about daily events and which restaurants were open or randomly closed for certain days of the week (and their various names) was lacking. It was clear that this resort could be much more organized and a major improvement in customer service is needed. Access to Secrets and Hard Rock was not really explained and we kind of struggled to gather this information on our own. The Food: The food at both Breathless and Secrets was by far the best I’ve had at any resort. We ate at Breathless and Secrets and I can say I was impressed with the quality and assortment of foods at both resorts. The restaurant staff was more accommodating in general (not always) and had much better customer service skills than reception staff and the bar staff. The beach restaurant was great and staff was amazing although they often did not have almost 50% of the menu offerings available. The music: I like EDM and techno. The first day was fine but by the end I felt like I was being hypnotized by the monotonous and irritating music. This is not where the party was at. I enjoyed the variety of music that you could hear from Hard Rock at the Breathless beach.

The resort should not have been open when we went. Staff and management were even telling us this. They were understaffed and most of the resort was not functioning. The Breathless theme is apparently playing house music and only house music. Would have been nice if they advertised this somewhere. The manager Jeff told us we should not be there and that it was a privilege to party, not a right. The rooms were not fully functioning, nice and updated but not functioning. The staff were very pleasant and you could tell they weren't happy with a few decisions being made. Wouldn't recommend unless you want to be told what to do or like.

Great resort, great employees, high-end furnishings and super clean but zero nightlife. It recently opened when I visited mid-march. The place was empty. They had an amazing sound system with cool DJs but zero party. That part was a let down for sure. Would have been amazing if it was what they advertised it to be but I guess we went too soon.
