Very disappointed with this trip. We were there for 10 days, 9 days out of 10 was heavy construction, mechanical shovel, backhoe, bull dozer, stone chipper etc right next to our room. And to try to cover the noise, speakers were installed along the wall and music was blasted with the construction noise from 8:00am to 6:00pm every day. This hotel was advertised as quiet and restful which was why we chose it. We were offered another room but could not move till the 5th day and they would not reimburse us for the cheaper room. We paid extra to have a swim out. We decided to stay. Every day you had to reserve a dinner restaurant, they always asked if you had any allergies, mine are gluten and dairy. Unfortunately they are not properly informed on food allergies which made my choices very limited. You could not leave your plate for a moment at breakfast otherwise the birds would be eating your meal. We travel twice a year for the past 30 years, this was the worst trip. This trip was very expensive and was not what we paid for.

My husband and I loved our stay at Azura. Amazing food and service. The resort was extremely Clean and beautiful. A smaller Resort and quiet so if that’s what’ you’re looking for it is perfext! We had a swim out pool Room and it got a ton of use and I’d say it was a must have for this resort. Would HIGHLY recommended this resort!! To be aware it is a 2.5 hour drive on the bus from the airport! But it goes fly by!!

X39CFO, Cost $11,598.00 for a resort advertised as quiet and restful. we went to this hotel to rest, we were there for 10 days. 9 of those ten days, 1 door from our room, we had a large construction project starting with mechanical shovel, bulldozer, backhoe with a stone chipper. Approx 2 days later they installed speakers along the wall of the construction and at the end of our hallway. They then started to play the music full blast to try and drown the construction noise from 8:00am to 6:00pm daily. This is not acceptable. We should have been told about the construction. Also, I was impressed that they asked about allergies when you booked the restaurant only to find out they are not properly informed about food allergies. 2 days before leaving the italien restaurant informed me they had gf pasta, but I couldn’t have any sauce because of cheese. Same with the Asian restaurant only told me on the last day they had gf soy sauce. The menus do not always indicate whether things are breaded or cheese etc. Gluten free, vegan, vegetation should be indicated on menu. This resort was far from quiet and restful. We spent ALOT of money to have endured so much frustration and anxiety. We travel twice a year for the past 30yrs and have never had such a terrible trip.

Everything is a 2 minute walk, the pools, beach's, restaurants'. And it was not busy although it was over Christmas. The beach was easy to walk on and you could do one end to the other in about an hour one way. The only issue is the 2 hr drive to and from the airport. Now that is painful.

My wife and I stayed in a garden view suite. The accommodations are very modern and comfortable to relax or connect to your favorite streaming service on the TV. The resort is located in a beach that is very swimable and calm. Good for kayak, swimming or even beginner surf lessons. During our stay, all the restaurants served from. The menu. Two restaurants always open for lunch and dinner. Our favorites were Bocatto and Chill and Grill. The staff was exceptional throughout and further made our stay more enjoyable. Many of which we got to know on a first name basis. We recommend this resort if you are looking for good quality food, accommodations and relaxing stay.

Beautiful beach, amazing sunsets and great food. Grounds were clean and well manicured and staff were friendly and helpful. Very much enjoyed the 30 min walk to the nearby village of Samara. We also went bird watching with a professional guide ( Bernie) and were quite pleased.

Such a wonderful small resort to relax, on the beach or by the pool ! Beautiful beach for long morning walks in the sunshine. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly! The beds were very comfortable and filtered water in the rooms was great so we weren’t using plastic bottles!

this resort was a mix of somet things being really nice, and others being not so nice. For example, food was pretty decent with fresh fruit and healthy options, flip side of the coin is for every sit down meal expect it to take close to 1.5-2 hrs. I am not sure why, it never seemed that busy. Maybe it was a food to table issue from the kitchen, I'm not sure. Also, the service was spotty. We could wait sometimes for over 10 minutes to be seated and then another 20 before being able to place our order (hence the length of service time). THen the rooms. we had a swim out and it was nice. but the furniture was indeed molded and destroyed in some cases and falling apart. the room set up was also very weird with light switches being in odd places and faucets spraying on you from the back splash. I liked the quietness and the small size of the resort and the amazing beach right at your front door. I would say that is the best feature. I would say not 4 star and should likely be more of a 3.5 Also, cups and food and plates would be left in the hallways for days from ppl ordering room service and I did see one cockroach in my room. Not worth the $.

Overall the resort was very good. Not a 5 star but a solid 4 star. Staff are mostly very friendly and generally provide good service. Weather was fantastic, not a drop of rain in 11 days and only a few hours of cloud. Not a place to go if you want to party though. Beach is very wideand nice to walk on, sunsets are gorgeous and the scenery is spectacular. Will definitely be returning to CR.

We had a great time at this resort. The only downfall is the trip from airport. Be forewarned it is a solid 2-1/2 shuttle ride. It wasn’t terrible bc it gave us a chance to see other parts of the country. Axel and Jocelyn were amazing. Some other staff were not great - but I’ll focus on the positive.

At arrival they did not find our reservation, poor communication, we had to wait and were not told why. Procedure to get to our room took about half an hour after a long day travelling. The front desk is not welcoming at all. They have a number of unexperienced staff. there was no information about the resort amenities. Hotel and rooms are overall clean. Room cleaning was fine but very late in the day. Some days no room cleaning at all. Booking system of restaurants with Whatsapp is somewhat cumbersome if you do not want to carry your phone at all times. Food quality overall was good. More local cuisine would be welcome rather hat an Italian and an Asian restaurant. Service staff is friendly but not really welcoming which may be due to lack of English skills and working 12 to 14 hour days with only one day off per week. For 72 rooms they only have 24 beach chairs available which were usually reserved all daylong after 6 am by people not even present for hours. They have no other infrastructure on the beach like paddle boards or kayaks for hotel guests. All had to be rented outside the hotel. No collaboration between front desk and separate desk for excursions. We would not recommend this hotel for people looking for a more active vacation. Main activity is focused on the pool bar. Overall the hotel is too expensive for what they offer.

If your looking for a quiet resort , not much of a night life , its the place for you. The staff was friendly , food for a resort is good , no venders on the beach trying to sell you junk , over all a nice place. They could have a bar and snack bar to stay open a bit longer than 10 , everything shuts down at 10 .

We stayed at the Azura Beach Resort in early December, 2023. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The resort is small but has everything we wanted in a winter getaway spot. Well laid out rooms, delicious food , beautiful pool, scenery and outstanding customer service.

Beautiful resort on a beautiful quiet beach. Lots of beach and pool chairs. Very handicap friendly areas and pool. Bar has nice selection of drinks. Restaurants serve great foods with sit down service Only breakfast is self serve. Staff working long hours so service may be slow at times Beach slopes gently with great sunsets nights have limited entertainment.

This resort is exactly like what you see in the pictures. Very lush & tropical. The grounds are manicured to perfection. We stayed in a plunge pool suite & it was absolutely perfect. The swim out suites were also stunning however did not provide an ocean view like they state. There were only 3 restaurants & only 2 were open on any given day. The menu's were very repetitive offering the same things all week. Don't come here for the beach. It was at best average. Nothing to speak of. Things start to happen around 8:30-9:00am until the resort closes at 10pm. After that there's nothing. No food. No drinks & certainly no entertainment. This resort is perfect if you want a small, quiet, intimate feel.

The resort was beautiful. It’s a very intimate vibe with it being a small resort. The staff is amazing and take the time to get to know you so their food and drink recommendations are always perfect.

This resort exceeded our expectations. It was quiet and the staff went above and beyond to ensure you were happy. Good quality food (lobster was the surf and turf at the grille) and sushi grade tuna at the Asian restaurant. Smoked salmon and mimosas at breakfast. Fast room service. Beautiful miles long sand beach. Spa services were excellent and well priced.

Azura Beach Resort is lovely inside and has lots of hanging plants and water features. The food was the best we've ever had at an all-inclusive. Buffet for breakfast only Lunch and dinner a la carte (no reservations for lunch - just show up from 12:00 3:00 and order off the menu). Reservations required for dinner at a choice of 3 restaurants. The staff were amazing: Nadina, Mario, Julian and Alexa at the front desk. Randy, Roxanne and Kayla from Chora's and Chill and Grill. Erick the concierge. Randall the bartender - this man knows his drinks! Nice large room with espresso machine, cold and hot water dispenser, remote control blackout blinds and tub on the balcony. The view was of the pool and ocean. Room was cleaned daily and fridge restocked with coke original, coke zero, apple and mango juice and beer. Very small (75 rooms) and quiet resort with nightly entertainment. We would definitely return.

We had an extremely positive experience at Azura Beach Resort Samara. This was our first time at a smaller sized resort and loved the intimacy of getting to know the staff, the ease of getting around, less "competition" to get a beach chair, pool chair, and dinner reservation. The service and staff were some of the most service-oriented and most friendly that we have experienced in our years of southern vacations. It truly felt like they wanted to make sure you felt special. The food choices and presentation were excellent. The evening musical band entertainment at one of the restaurants a couple of evenings was engaging and fun with well known music to dance to. The beach was so wide and long that getting in physical activity was easy despite there being no gym. Between Samara beach and the adjacent Carillo beach, we could easily walk/run up to10km if we wished to. Walking to town on the beach and having a coffee/snack in town and exploring was a special feature for a southern destination where usually you don't go off property on your own due to safety reasons. The spa is limited and not as high quality as other spa therapists I've experienced with only 1 room in a "hut" like structure with no spa-like aesthetic, but getting an appointment wasn't difficult. There were a variety of off property excursions. We happened to be the only couple on the ATV tour of the area with Wilbur. He made the tour an educational experience making sure to stop when there were monkeys spotted and/or something to note. A visit to a coffee plantation was equally fascinating. We are usually guests at a different premium resort brand and found that because of the value for dollar at this resort compared to that brand resort was equal in many respects. We still love the premium brand and its different offerings and returning guests privileges; however, Azura is comparable for people who can't afford the premium price. I have to share, though, a negative experience I had at Tao, the Japanese restaurant. We ate here our final night and there was something about the Tuna Tataki that I wasn't sure was cooked properly. 24 hours later on the airplane home it became evident that there was something wrong with that tuna. I had an extremely unpleasant trip home, I'm sure the tuna was "off" as my symptoms lasted a week gradually improving each day...which made me question the food safety practices at that restaurant in particular that serves a lot seafood/raw fish. The food was so delicious when we were at Tao earlier in the week which was why we wanted to go once more before we left. I am glad it happened on our last evening or my week would have been very unpleasant spending my time in my room close to the washroom. If I am uncertain about the freshness of food again, I will not take a risk and send it back. I would also recommend a review of food safety practices. This is a bad note to end on but I feel I must share this information especially if there have been other similar incidents. I will still rate this a 4.5 - 5 star with this one qualification which may have been a one off.

The hotel and location are beautiful, however the hotel itself isn’t well maintained. This leads to broken features, communication issues and downgrades. In our time there the sewage water backed up and flooded the first floor of rooms through the showers, the water machine was broken upon arrival and the a/c unit broke and flooded the room a second time, leading us to need to “request” a new room that was very not ready for guests to stay in. The hotel staff are great, friendly and very helpful, however there is only so much they are able to do with the resort being understaffed, under maintained and with the communication barrier. It also seems that there aren’t proper systems in place for when don’t go as planned. The location itself is beautiful and the staff truly do the best they can with what they’re given.

What a fantastic boutique hotel in a still virtually unpopulated area of Samara. Very quiet, conducive to R&R. Excellent food. Wonderful wait staff. Concierge service to book meals and tours, and to otherwise assist. Maid service scheduled as often as you want. Warm Pacific Ocean and beautiful, clean beaches. One pool to meet people at. Variety of local animals to view such as Howler monkeys. 36 degrees every day while there in April. What’s not to like?!

We spent 10 days at the lovely resort. The location is perfect as the beach is calm and ocean swimming friendly. Our suite was ocean front and could not have been better. The staff were fantastic. Good food and ambiance in all restaurants. We highly recommend this little piece of paradise!

This was an amazing resort for someone who wants a relaxing and quiet vacation. Located on a wonderfully walkable beach, the resort is new and the hotel accommodations are fantastic. The food was also top notch. No buffets and everything was made to order. The service and servers were friendly and approachable and everyone was always willing to help. The only criticism I had was that the front desk didn't always have the information needed about travel details like transfers with our travel provider. I know COVID meant that a lot of staff had to be retrained. That said, they were always helpful and they did their absolute best to get us the information in a timely manner. Overall, it was a 9.9/10 experience!

The resort is new and very beautiful. The rooms were very comfortable with good mattresses, walk in showers, and big balconies. Every room is equiped with an Expresso coffee maker with the pods of coffee provided. There is also a water filter machine in the rooms with cold or hot water. There is no buffet at this resort, but there are 4 restaurants to choose from, you can reserve for either a 6:30 or 8:30 seating. The food is very good, my husband and I did not enjoy the Italian restaurant as much as the other restaurants, but that is just not our go to. The beach is adequate, but the sand is not to our liking, very dirty. There is a great pool area, the swim-up bar was not open, but they serve drinks around the pool and at the beach. The service is undeniably the best we have seen at a resort, it is a small resort so there are no lineups anywhere. It is a very quiet resort, no head-banging music blasting at the pool, just nice quiet music. The bar is closed at 10:00 every night. This is not a party central resort, we enjoyed the peace and quiet. We were a party of six, all over 60 years of age. The masks were worn by all staff and guests. Because of Covid the rooms were cleaned only every 3 days, but if you need it cleaned before or need towels, you talk to the concierge in WhatsApp. The service was great. I do want to warn people that this resort is a good 2 hour drive from the Airport. That was the only drawback for us.

We stayed in room 321, nice clean room and what a beautiful view! Know that due to the current situation, rooms are cleaned on the third day or upon request. That was not really an issue for us. Foods in restaurants are generally very good, although foods in the Asian restaurant Tao, were salty. I enjoyed all meals at the Chill and Grill! The hotel encourages the guests to use Whatsup app for dinner reservations or all other requests during your stay. You can also check the restaurant menu through the app. The hotel coordinates the pre-departure COVID test with a local laboratory. We had given our names at the concierge for the test but our names were not on the list on the day of so that was a little disappointing. Good thing that local laboratory personnel were ready to accommodate this small issue. We took the same stairs all week and I noticed the same area where there were mice and birds poop that were not cleaned the whole week we were there. Large beach area. Masks were worn properly by staff. Very good service overall. We stayed from Oct. 31- Nov. 7.

The resort is very nice. Some rooms are still under construction. It was quiet and not a lot of people. We love the fact it is adults only. The meals are 5 star. The staff is exceptional. But, when it get busier and more people showed up. The service and meals paid the price. The resort did not increase the staff as the guests increased. The whatsapp was a great idea and it helped to book meals and keep up to date with room service and cleaning of the rooms. Another good feature, we were able to use the sister resort. We rented a car which was only 6 minutes away. Most excursion are far away. But they have local ones. If you want a relaxing vacation. This is the best resort for that. There is no night entertainment in this resort. But after all day of sun. 9pm or 10pm we were sleeping. The rooms are amazing and big. The air conditioners work well. The water dispenser was welcome surprise as well as the Britt coffee maker with the little pods. The shower was nice, but no not water. Needless to say, having a shower was brrrr. The beach was very nice. But I'm a pool person. The swim up bar wasn't open, but the Chill and Grill bar was so close to the pool. It didn't matter the pool bar wasn't open. All in all it was great vacation.

Exceptional resort and not just because of the unbelievable location and property itself but because of the staff. Anyone traveling during this time may doubt their safety however the staff at this resort went above and beyond. Masks were worn ‘properly’ by every staff member with hand sanitizer machines available everywhere. My room was immaculate and had amazing ocean views along with a massive sink tub on the balcony. The hotel is the perfect size so only a few steps to the beach and pool from all suites. If your bucket list for your next vacay includes excellent food, fantastic staff, great sunsets at a chill luxury resort this is it!

Very nice resort, clean comfortable and great staff. Some of the meals were a little slow coming and a few drink orders were missed but they were delicious so all and I was very happy ! The grounds and beach were amazing a real tropical paradise 😃

We very much enjoyed our stay at Azura. Javier made our room very special with balloons, champagne and rose petals upon arrival to celebrate our recent engagement. Suzanna, Christopher, Alejandro and the rest made outstanding cocktails all week! Andreas took us on a private hike through the forest and to the other beaches and educated us on the way. We did have a short stint when we didn’t have water, but Sergio and the team worked hard at getting the right person on site to fix it and within 18hrs was fixed. Food items I enjoyed were the ceviche, tempura veg, tuna poke, shrimp risotto, chips and guacamole, and summer rolls. I would go back for sure.. every place you go has things that are different than what you’re used to and coming with an open mind, and you will enjoy your stay as well... that people do the best that they can with the resources they have. Azura Resort – Staff – excellent/friendly, food - excellent/variety, property – excellent. Costa Rica – yah, we could live there. People friendly, Town of Samara – a nice walk and fun. Ocean clean/warm and beautiful sunsets. Costa Rica excursion – we booked through Azura Resort – Volcano, Zip Line and Hot Springs Spa. Unbelievable. Long drive to get there, but well worth it.

This resort is beautiful and quiet. If you are looking for a party resort do not go here. If you are looking for friendly service, beautiful rooms and a peaceful place to rejuvenate you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful hotel, everything very new. All staff were extremely personal and always willing to please. Food was very good with good variety. Highly recommend the day trip to zip line near the Arenal Volcano, despite a long drive there/back, well worth it.

Great resort, small but in a big way. Staff was amazing as was the food. Lots of care and consideration for the guest experience. A little get away from from everything. Nice little towns you can walk to along the beach. Staff made sure you enjoyed it.

We had an amazing week at Azura. Great location, delicious right on the beach surrounded by wild nature. The food is great ! Beach is very clean, however don't expect anything extra (cabanas, fancy chairs). Hotel itself is very modern, clean, some attention to details needed ( hot water was giving us a problem for a few times, servise sometimes a bit slow ... this place needs better managment and more employees. Staff is overwhelmed. Inthink this place needs more activities, especially considering the fact that it is an adult only. Suggestions to the management training, activities (.yoga, meditation, would.be grat addition) overall experience is good!

Hola Three weeks prior visiting Azur I was in St Lucia,St James Bay Resort I mention this because I do travel to other countries and like to think I have some knowledge of other resorts. I was in Azur from December 10-17 The resort is a boutique style and very stylish with modern designs and paintings...... there are rooms with bath tubs on the balcony facing the pool :)) My room was always super clean and spacious, a big thank you to housekeeping I enjoyed the black sand 3km very wide beach. The water was excellent and very shallow depending on the tides. I enjoyed the fact I did not have to get up at 7am or earlier, rush to save a chair. I loved not having to be close to others while sunbathing. One can walk appx 20-30 minutes into the quaint town of Samara. The staff was great and tried their best to give good customer service. My first two days it was challenging to get good service especially at the bar. It’s not because you have to tip large to get attention, I believe it is due to not being properly trained. I did speak to manager and explained I do not need white glove treatment. I told him that the bartenders should acknowledge a new person sitting at the bar. If they are busy all one has to do is say hello and give me a minute to serve you. The manager ( 3 months new to the resort ) was in agreement and was going to discuss with staff. After that service was better. The food was okay in some cases really good. There needs to be more variety and possibly change themes every other day. I truly still do not know what is Costa Rican culinary. I always want to eat the food of the country I visit. Once again I think the staff did the best they could and with more guidance they can do better and be great. Management has to do some tweaking i.e. bring water to the table upon sitting down instead of me waking around to find the water. All I am saying is the simple tasks will go a long way. In conclusion YES I did enjoy my stay,I enjoyed the staff. I would come back and hopefully the kinks will be ironed out. Gracias.... Pura Vida

We just got back from a week at the Azura and what a week! Food was delicious. Boccata didn't require reservations and it felt like you were dining at an high-end restaurant. The Chill & Grill offered a wide variety of options for lunch and dinner and we sampled a bit of everything. No complaints at all! Room was lovely - cleaned everyday with no interruptions and turn down service at night was a nice treat. Only drawback is the time it takes to get to the resort. Be prepared for a 2-plus drive. Definitely would go back. Thanks Azura for a wonderful time!

The resort is like paradise. We really enjoyed the beautiful ocean, the scenery, the hotel is spotless and the food was amazing. The rooms are cozy and fresh. We were spoiled with coffee and chocolates and clean linens everyday. The food was a great variety and amazingly talented in presentation and delicious. The staff work really hard and long hours and more staff is needed but they are friendly, try really hard with their English and work hard to make everything nice and they are warm and kind and generous and always pleasant. We will go again for sure.

This was our first visit to Costa Rica. And it will not be the last. The Hotel was absolutely fantastic , new , clean , tastefully decorated . From first minute we felt like home . All people in this hotel work very hard but , this is not what makes the difference between other places we visited in Caribbean. Everyone is having fun , while working hard and applying the real meaning of Pura Vida . We felt we were part of the family , not tourists. I can't mentioned all names although , everyone deserves to be recognised : Big thank you to Kevin , Miguel and the lovely lady from the Italian restaurant, Jefferson and Raul, Coco from breakfast crew. You made our stay unforgettable. Beach is excellent and honestly , there is no picture that can describe the beauty of the nature , amazing sunsets , great sky... Hotel Azure became our favorite destination and , we will be returning there for sure . I hope very soon .

The hotel is a beautiful building with lots of attention to detail and has a very natural open concept. We loved the plants and hanging garden baskets in the main lobby. It has a lot of personality and makes one feel at home immediately! The gardens are very well maintained and the pool and ocean are amazing. We especially loved our walks on the beach...the black sand was so unusual and the coral and shells made each walk an adventure. We especially loved the horses walking or galloping down the beach. Such a novel and unspoiled landscape. The food was very high quality and we enjoyed watching young Jefferson turn out exquisite meals at the Chill and Grill. Kevin was a great bartender and Lorena and I forget the other lady were such happy, pleasant servers. Marchello was very sweet too. I feel like sometimes the service was a bit slow, but that could easily be solved by hiring a few more chefs/servers. Coco at the breakfast buffet...which was a delicious assortment of food by the way, was a very attentive server. The rooms were very comfortable and the housekeeping did a good job cleaning up promptly and neatly. Loved the balcony with the relaxing and cosy hanging swing! The water supply did stop a couple of times for about 30 mins to an hour, and as such the water purifier stopped too. No big deal as it was quickly fixed. All staff were very approachable and friendly while maintaining a level of professionalism. Might be a good idea to have a basic First Aid kit available as well as training a couple of the staff in Standard First Aid and CPR. Overall we loved our stay and will definitely be back. Pura Vida!!!

Enjoyed my stay at azura thoroughly. The staff was amazing; very friendly and attentive. The food and drinks were made amazingly I had no complaints at all. The air conditioning in the room worked very well and the rooms were very nice.

Wow, what an amazing vacation. People, scenery, food, everything was just perfect. Kevin and Jeferson are absolutely amazing!! Seney and Marcelo are also gems. Shrimp risotto was my absolute favorite dish and all of the food is first class. even if it inst on the menu, Jeferson will improvise and do his take on the meal you desire. Iced coffee with liqueur in it was amazing. Room service was the absolute best. Beautiful beach however water is not clear. Other than the biting mosquito, i have no complaints. Amazing place, can't stress that enough. Best vacation ever. Will be back soon! Make sure you ask for the chilli guaro. Amazing shot!!

We have just returned March 12th 2019 .When I read the reviews we were uncertain about this resort .If the previous reviews were true .First Costa Rico is amazing . The Azuza beach resort is new , beautiful and there are appx 20 rooms not complete. We found no construction going on to disturb the tranquility we found in this property..The rooms not finished would be complete once the power blackout blinds were up and the interiors complete. This is a non smoking resort on the beach only. The staff all speak excellent english and made us feels so welcome. The most people were 40 years and upward. Monkey tours offer excursions as well as Air Canada bur I would recommend the monkey tours . Eric and Nickson and Coco can make you all the local drinks but they have international as well. Samara is 20 min walk on beach to markets shops and restaurants .Room cleaned every day and fridge was restocked daily . Three floors but there is an elevator. Food was good buffet breakfast and lunch. Chill and grill lunch and dinner . Italian a la carte . There is currently 2 hours of music from 7-9 and music playing at the swim up bar and that is it. This was fine with us . We truley enjoyed our first time to Costa Rico and The Arura beach resort D&S

The resort as noted in trip advisor is not completely finished. To begin our holiday we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite! Not a bad start! From that moment on we had a great time. Yes there were some wrinkles and you might have had to wait a few more minutes to place your order or get your meal but they are offering a very good deal. The resort is beautiful, beach is lovely and the pool area is well laid out. I would highly recommend this resort and expect they will work out some of the small problems. Staff are fun and very hard working. This is our second time in Costa Rica and we had an amazing vacation

The Azura is a beautiful new hotel that unfortunately was still under construction while we were there. We didn’t get the panoramic room we paid for, but the room we did get was nice, just no views. It was understaffed as well. We found the male staff catered to the French speaking male tourists more than the females. We waited longer for food and drinks at the bar. Very limited menus, and food wasn’t cooked as per the order.It shouldn’t be recommended at this time The sunsets were spectacular as well as the tours!

This Resort needs to address a few issues: 1- No coffee in the rooms 2- Check-In was poorly handle 3 - Information on WEB Site incorrect example: 90 minutes from airport and it is actually 2 Hour Drive 4 - All excursions were too far from the Resort and overly priced 5 - Lack of nightly entertainment 6 - No Menus at the Buffet or other Restaurant's 7 - No Hot Water in the Bathroom Other then the above issues the Staff were very Friendly and Helpful We also realized this is a new Resort and they have a lot of kinks to work out

I don't know why Tripcentral is advertising it at all or Air Canada Tours. We were sent to Hotel Villas Playa Samara. We never received the automatic upgrade stated in our 1 (a) choice and we were never refunded our difference in the pirce package which is at least $300.00 each. I felt sorry for the poor hotel manager who had to deal with us. I had all the paper work with me, it's a good thing because they said they were unaware of the upgrade.......who to believe. The Hotel Villas Playa Samara is a small resort, very quiet if you get a villa in the back of the property. We were in a bottom floor of a quad duplex. Room was nice and clean and in working order. The people there were very nice and friendly. We went on the fishing trip excursion twice and brought back our catch of the day. The chef at the restaurant prepared our fish and both times it was amazing. I would go back because I know what to expect, it's my first all inclusive but my friend who has been to a few all inclusive bigger resort would not return. I was trouble with the service I got from Tripcentral in returning my calls seemed like once we paid the trip I had to talk to someone new it's unfortunate. I have a few more trips planned this year so I think I will deal with a travel agent face to face from now on.

Everything was pretty good we have no complaints , people were very nice ,guides were awesome and so helpful , meals very good , love the pool it was kept very clean ,the ocean was amazing , loved the wild horses walking along the beach ,the sunset was epic ,our villa was the best of everything #1 on the ocean front , felt comfortable and safe and would consider going back someday

We enjoyed the resort and the staff worked hard to provide you with what you wanted. We had issues booking excursions due to some confusion between Air Canada and the hotel on the credits issued. It eventually got resolved but not by the hotel staff person. The process and handling by the specific staff person should have been more client friendly. Other than that and a very poor mattress this was a nice place to stay.

This is a smaller resort and the the rooms were okay. Getting hot shower is a challenge. Only one pool and one restaurant so if you are looking for more flexibility then this is not the place. Need more staff to man the two bars and the bars are on the smallish side. Pool bar is fine but need something closer to the beach. Only place to get food is at the restaurant so that is also not ideal. Staff booking the excursions need to be replaced.

This is a smaller hotel with lots of potential. Some of the rooms have been upgraded while some still need some TLC. The food was good most days but I think they changed chefs half way through the week and the quality went down. The servers were very nice & the staff were good. The manger on the front desk was not very helpful when it came time to redeem our vouchers from Air Canada. We had to call Canada to get this sorted out. Even when they were told that we had vouchers the guy that was there to book our excursions was slow to get this done & we had to push him to book them. It was like they didn’t want us to use the $500 before we left. As it was we did not use our full amount.

We stayed at the sister resort (Hotel Villas Playa Samara) from February 13th to the 20th. Construction continues on the new resort every day, but it does not look near completion yet. The Villas resort was exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The food was great every day on the buffet. Some of the meals at the restaurant were not hot when they arrived. Pizzas were excellent! The bartenders at the pool bar kept the drinks flowing. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay, but still wished the new resort had been available.

Great location, very friendly staff. Cozy room and good maintenance. Pretty neighborhood with nice, small places to eat. BTW why the review must be at least 200 characters? It is unnecessary requirement in my opinion.
