This was by far the worst resort I have ever been to. The only positives, are beautiful views, nice weather and luckily walking distance to good restaurants. The staff were unpleasant and dismissive, the food was awful - minimal buffet options, questionable looking salads and meat, nothing was warm (luckily there were some amazing restaurants walking distance that we could eat at most nights), extremely difficult to get A la carte reservation - an hour wait in the morning and most were already booked up, you had to get up at 6:30am to get chairs by the pool, rooms are extremely dated - cracked tiles, showers go from freezing cold to scalding hot, leaking AC, dark bathroom lighting, our deadbolt broke on our door and nobody ever came to fix it even after asking multiple times, door also kept getting stuck and we had use body weight to get it to open. The last night we decided to eat at the buffet for dinner and we finished the the trip with food poisoning and got incredibly ill all night and are still recovering from that a week later. I do not recommend this resort and it has deterred me from ever booking Occidental again.

Too many,many stairs , the ocean was with red flags all10 days that we were there I didn’t go to the ocean not even one day, and to books the al la cart it was at 7.00 in the morning you had to be there at 6.30 in the morning to get a reservation because they is only 4 restaurants I don’t Recommend this resort

The hotel has too many stairs, you have to walk up and down too many stairs to get to the restaurants, to get to the pools and to get to the bars because nothing is on the same level. The adult only pool had ladders only to enter and exit and one was broken and not closed off. The food was less than acceptable. Cold, tasteless and not Mexican. The staff was amazing and the rooms were clean.

At first glance this hotel looks very good. It is well maintained but tired and in need of some serious upgrades. In particular in the bathroom. Cracked and leaky sink, antique tap with a mind of its own. Air conditioning had no control. Loud and freezing, we complained three times with no result unless we were willing to change rooms. The staff was excellent. Personable and very professional. Special mention to Carolina in the lower buffet and Hermerlinda upstairs. BAD FOOD. I often wondered with the very many hotels around Mexico, how they managed to find so many good chefs. I wonder no more because it ended here at this Occidental. Unimaginative and repetitive selection. Tasteless for the most part with the same boiled tasting fish and chicken in both buffets every day. Chicken legs or wings with nary a breast to me seen. The specialty restaurants were far from special. The Italian La Trattoria had no reason to call itself Italian. As an example, the Ossobuco was tasteless, very chewy with an abomination of a sauce splashed on top. And the marrow was missing from the bone! This is a sin in Italy. The system of booking a reservation was meant only to test your resolve. You got to get up at sunrise to join a lineup. Then they fill up before the line ends. Just about every one complained about the food. The Occidental Costa Cancun just up the road would have been a much better choice. We shall not return.

Enjoyed our week. Rooms were very clean. Hotel very clean. Staff very friendly. Entertainment was ok. Not very exciting. The lobby music entertainment was the same every night. Same music. Didn't start until 10:15-10:25 and ended at 11:00pm. There was nothing else to do so went up to our room. Only 3 a la cartes. Mexican (didn't like), Seafood (they had a chicken dish for those who didn't eat seafood/fish) and Italian which was by far the best. Had to line up at 7:00am to book your a l carte. We managed eat at one every night. Buffet was ok. Not an assortment of food, but could find something to eat every day. Preferred the Seafood restaurant for breakfast and lunch as it was close to the pool. Adult pool area was nice. Always found a lounge. Didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to reserve one. Didn't go to the family/party pool. Ocean was very rocky. Red flag every day so didn't go in the water. Very little seaweed. Beach clean. No one bothers you on the beach. Didn't venture out of the hotel as we got there late at night. Had I'd known there was a mall across the street, I would have ventured out!

The resort was clean, the staff were amazing. Beach was cleaned of seaweed everyday, lots of chairs on the beach but no shade. The pools were clean and the water temperature was perfect. Lots of chairs and shade. The best part of the resort was the staff! 10/10 My only complaint was the food, I am not a fussy eater and was able to find something to eat every day but soon got tired of the same thing. It was always chicken nuggets, burger, fries, potatoes ect.. I would like to have seen a little more Mexican style or at least a little change sometimes. City life is just a 10 minute walk, lots of restaurants and things to do off the resort as well.

I recently stayed at Occidental Tucancun, while it wasn't a terrible experience, there were several areas that could use improvement. The hotel feels quite outdated. The rooms, though clean, could really use a refresh. The furnishings were old, and the overall vibe felt stuck in the past. The bathroom, while functional, had some wear and tear that stood out. In terms of dining options, I was disappointed to find there were very few food choices available on-site. There wasn’t much variety in the restaurants. It would have been nice to have more convenient or diverse options within the hotel. While the location of the hotel was decent, I can't say it would be my first choice for a future stay unless some updates and improvements were made.

We had a great time. Purchased an umbrella everyday for shade on the beach. We enjoyed ourselves. Our toilet did not flush , called maintenance each day.they came quickly. Food was good.we would go again.

Hotel is old and dated but was clean. The beach was great, the 3 pools well maintained. The service is good. The food was good but small buffet and limited selection. The 3 a la carte restaurant was good. I would rate overall 7 out 10.

The hotel room was great, employees were pushy trying to sell time share(or as they call it holiday package). The food was the same all the time and only warm at best whether you got there at opening or later. Had to ask 2nd evening to get our room cleaned and only one towel left after they clean.

The room was beautiful and clean. Most of the waiters were great the waitress were lacking. They could only bring one coffee then ignored you for the rest of the meal. The food was the worst I have ever had. It was mostly cold and always the same. We had bacon only once in 7 days and it was burnt. If people are looking for decent meals pass by this place. Definitely not worth the cost or time.

a good resort overall, but at first we were put in a terrible room with a door to the terrace that didn’t close. When I tried to close the door, there was a gap through which the wind blew strongly, making a very loud sound, interfering with sleep, in addition, the linen in our room was not fresh, and my wife noticed someone else’s hair on the pillows. We asked for the bed linen to be changed, which was done immediately. Also, in the room where we were placed, the view of the sea was minimal. The next day we asked to be moved. We were given a room on the third floor instead of the second. The new room fully met our expectations. Overall we liked the hotel, the area is cleaned every evening and morning. Various competitions and events are held throughout the day. We went to the evening show on February 14th, it was very impressive. With the exception of some nuances, my wife and I liked everything.

When we arrived we are amazed by the view and atmosphere of the lobby,the room is clean and comfortable. The food’s and services are very good,your staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has a good selection of food and drinks and we have plenty of snacks to eat. The place is perfect for the family and the mall is just nearby and we have a wonderful staycation in your place.

The resort is very clean and most of the staff were very helpful specially Eric from the Mexico Lindo restaurant. We didn’t swim in the beach as it was full of seaweeds and the waves are big. The food in the buffet were always the same almost everyday. The seafood restaurant was good. The entertainment was good as well. The lobby were always packed and busy. Need to add bar tender. The hotel has a good location very close to the mall and bus stop.

The Occidental Tucancun (all-inclusive resort or room daily) is a medium size property in the middle of Hotel Zone, 25 minutes by bus outside Cancun city or from the airport. We recommend this resort which offers many of the usual amenities for a moderate cost. We're satisfied with clean sheets, good food, convenience and value. Seafood restaurant Claraboya is more elegant and open for breakfast and lunch and we usually enjoyed those meals there. Soup lovers like me will appreciate cream soups of mushroom, spinach, carrots, tomato, potato, which were nicely flavoured. Amazingly, the common mashed potatoes are to-die-for. Pretty decent fish is on the menu daily everywhere. Grouper is a high-protein fish that is low in cholesterol and contains significant levels of protein, vitamins, and minerals. Three a-la-carte dinner restaurants offer some good choices provided your selections are thoughtful and undemanding. For examples, in the seafood restaurant we liked the braised salmon steak; in the Italian we liked the flambéd shrimp cream pasta; and in the Mexican restaurant we relished salsa freshly made to taste at your table with mortar & pestle ¬¬- all excellent. Sadly, a warning, that in spite of all the aforementioned praise, all cooked dishes were oversalted. The bar scene in the hotel is happy, active, and intellectual (...just kidding!), but there's no live music to compete with the revelers' loudness. The Tucan Theatre was serendipitously excellent, offering seven different, entertaining shows: magic, mariachi, circus, Mexican folklore, Michael Jackson, Three Tenors and enthusiastic karaoke. After the show, there's a terrific singing artist playing latin music for listening or dancing. It’s fun to watch very authentic latin dancing, and to join in if one likes to dance. We do! My vacation advice: don't retire to your room if you're not yet gently full, sloshed and tired. Three fresh pools are available and one is for adults only. At this resort, if you're challenged by stairs, know that there are some to get around and down to the beach. The landscaping is beautiful and impeccably groomed. Finally, regarding staff inviting you to a “presentation”. Yes, annoying, distracting and time consuming when your time in the sun is limited. Ok, don’t get your bikini in a knot, just say no! But still I’m empathetic, because these workers are just trying to make a living by upselling you to their “club”. I’ve met people who have participated and survived and even purchased. Take it easy on your vacation.

This is a smaller hotel with amazing staff. At first glance, the lobby seems very plain. Some of the furniture and rooms are outdated but it was very clean. Staff were very helpful. The Italian restaurant doesn't require a reservation and was our favorite. The buffet at the pool level was really good as well.

Amazing layout, friendly staff, needs more shade on the beach. Has none! Mid day it's impossible to be on the beach due to lack of shade. Overall it's a beautiful resort. Due to its layout, everything is conveniently located.

The hotel is clean and has a great location. All personal is very friendly and polite. All meals are excellent. All 3 pools are very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed a lot of every minute. I would love to come back!

Great staff, rooms was spacious with an amazing view. Food was good, the Italian restaurant was very good. Location is great, we felt safe to walk down the street to both of the malls. Beach was breath taking- loved sitting out there, there were alway chairs at the beach- even when the chairs around the pools were all occupied. We did the excursion to Cobo and Talum, with the visit to the Myan village and cenote, which was well worth the money. Only complaint I had was the time we travelled was two weeks before March break and the teens had begun to travel, which made the halls at night a little loud. Would stay again, just maybe not this time of year.

We spent 2 weeks in Occidental Tucancun and had a really good time. The hotel was clean and had all the amenities one needs. It was really handy to have the mall across the street. The location of this hotel is great. The beach was beautiful as as always the case in the hotel zone and we spent a lot of time playing in the waves. If you are not a good swimmer, the ocean is tricky as the currents were strong and the waves big. We also found it quite windy, more so than in previous years when we went to Cancun or Mayan Riviera. The food was decent. The Mexican restaurant was quite good and the Italian restaurant made a good to order pasta. The room was large and clean and the fridge restocked daily. Our room was facing the lagoon and the AC noise was really loud so we had to keep the windows closed. That was one negative. The other bigger negative was that you had to pay extra for wi-fi ($45 US a week). We never had to pay that much money for wi-fi. So we didn't. We would walk over to the mall and connect there. The staff at OT were very friendly. I want to especially thank Louis and Antonio at the beach restaurant for their hospitality and bright smiles. Overall it was a great hotel and we would definitely recommend this resort.

The resort was great overall! Me and the 9 others that I was traveling with had a great experience with the food and service on the resort. The staff was wonderful, the bartenders took care of us and made sure we had an unforgettable experience, especially with Ismael and Max who catered to our needs all week long and made sure we were well hydrated and content!

This was my first time to Mexico, but have visited Cuba and Dominican Republic in the past and based off those as comparison I can say this is an amazing bang for your buck resort. I travelled with 10 guys on a bachelor's party and the staff loved us and were very welcoming and definitely aided in our daily amusement. Bartenders Max and Ismael provided plenty of entertainment along with great new drinks for us to try based on things we liked. Armando, one of the hosts was seemingly always around and was a hoot! He was always trying to get us to laugh even in times when we weren't feeling too hot from the night before. The food was incredible at each and every buffet or restaurant! Plenty of options for the pickiest of eaters although more a la carte options would have been great since the two they had filled up quickly. The rooms were definitely not up to modern standards in the form of style and fashion but the beds were comfortable and plenty of pillows and blankets. Our AC was not the greatest but it was sufficient to keep the room ambient. One of the elevators were not working while we were there as it was under renovation but we didn't mind taking the stairs. The beaches would be perfect with more shaded areas outside of the palm trees. Finally I would love to see a better maintained beach volleyball court with lines and a net that wasn't sagging significantly. Being situated directly behind kukulkan mall was incredible incase we needed something that the gift shop didn't have. Overall it was a great spot and I would definitely return in the future as I know this is a resort that I can trust is solid with great service and a very entertaining staff!

I go down south every year but I usually spend more money than I did this year. I got to this resort without having very high expectations but I was amazed! The food quality was the biggest surprise and the staff were incredible. The resort itself was also super clean, I would definitely come back again!

My husband I recently stayed at the Occidental Tucancun and we had an amazing time. When researching I had really liked the fact that it was a smaller resort than what was around and it had fewer people. This was great when it came to finding chairs on the beach and around the pool, you didn’t have to wake up super early to reserve one! Also with food the wait and line up was non existent. The restaurants at this resort were delicious! We especially enjoyed the seafood (fresh and delicious) and the Italian as they have a pasta station where you choose everything from noodles to sauce to veggies. You can eat as many times as you want in every restaurant (some have a limit to 4 per 7 day stay). The thing that really made the resort special was the people. They remember you every day and make you feel very special. The drinks at every bar were always good, they have all your typical beach drinks and mojitos! The beach was always clean and weed free, it is very wavy on the beach so if your a weak swimmer or prefer to snorkel it may not be the best spot for you, but to jump around and dive with goggles was very fun. The whole hotelera zona is more windy and wavy but it is still warm and very swim-able. The beach is really long so you can walk for 20 minutes in each direction which is cool! Our room was on the top floor and we had a balcony overlooking the resort, it was always clean and restocked well. Overall we will definitely be going back when we are in Cancun again.

The staff were amazing. Super friendly and excellent customer service. The beach is beautiful but the waves were quite large. The pools were lovely with daily entertainment and games by the poolside. There is also an adult only pool which was a quieter area to relax. We had a room with a beautiful panoramic ocean view. The food was decent but was the same every day which got a little old. Had a daily evening performance but no other night life.

Hotel itself was fine, clean and easily accessible, although there are a lot of stairs. Food was terrible (lack of variety and always cold). Beach and pools were fun. There are no palapas on the beach, so very hard if you want some shade.

The resort was great! I loved that the beach was so close and right in front of you. The staff are amazing and the food was good. The night shows were great and enjoyed them very much. The bartenders worked so hard to please everyone and did it smiling. Antonio and Lorenzo were great!!! The check in is very very slow and the check out is also slow. That's my only complaint. Everything else was excellent! Very clean and happy place.

This was a lovely resort, not really big, but very nice. The staff were outstanding. Geraldo and his staff at the buffet closest to the pools were very welcoming and were genuinely happy to help and take a moment to chat. I cannot remember all of the staff names, but they were great. At the Italian restaurant a Mr. Chan gave us excellent service. The pools were lovely and the beach unbelievable. We even saw baby turtles. My only negative was the front counter. Very slow and not terribly friendly. Our key card had to be activated daily, and sometimes more than once a day. I really did enjoy this resort.

We really enjoyed our trip. We upgraded to the premium ocean front suite which was amazing! Beautiful beach, great pools, especially the relax pool. The massage at the spa was fantastic. What made the entire trip was the excellent staff, everyone that worked at the resort always greeted you with a smile.

We should like Occidental Hotel to know how immensely we enjoyed our travel in Mexico couple days ago. Apart from the good food and entertainment that you so good provided, it was your hotel that gave me a satisfaction that is to last a very long time. Great hotel with options to be away from the crowd. Lots of little quiet spots for real relaxation. Food is ok, staff generally very nice and friendly. Situitated 60 steps from a mall, great for a stroll when you need a break from the sun. The beach is really nice, it's pretty empty in mid September. Great for body surfing on waves up to 3 feet. Only down side is weeds, lots of it.

Let me just start by saying that this is my 5th time to this resort and it keeps getting better each and every time. People are fantastic and front desk staff is always accommodating. Bellman remembered me as i got off of the shuttle. The food was crazy good. Although I did travel alone this time I was made to feel as if I wasn't. I recommend Linda Vista Mexican restaurant and you can make as many reservations as you want. I expected a lot of locals because it was middle of July yet there were about 50% of beds available always. The seaweed problem is not as bad as has been portrayed. The pool temperature was ideal and I had nothing but sunshine all week long. I can't wait to come back here again. Shout out to Ismael in the lobby bar and the other fine staff. Michael in the adult pool during the week of July 17 - 22 was fantastic and I can't believe someone had the nerve to complain about him that they weren't being served as he was very attentive and professional at all times. I had room 3001 which had two balconies and oceanview room as well. Spacious rooms and very clean.

This hotel has excellent service from the time you get there still you leave.The staff is amazing and very helpful. The hotel is clean and very welcoming. They have 3 well kept pools and beautiful grounds.This is a superior category hotel. I think the best rooms are the ocean view you can see the ocean and it's breath taking. They have shows every night and great to see. It's in a great location and very safe to go out at night.

The staff were amazing and so helpful! We were a group of 8 people and everyone was so accommodating when it came to meals. The beach is beautiful and exactly what you think of when you picture the Caribbean ocean. The water was a bit rough, but still lovely. The rooms could definitely use an upgrade, but very clean and we were never discouraged when coming back to a clean and tidy room. The biggest complaint I have is that the pools turned all our white bathing suits green. I’m not sure if it’s a chemical imbalance or algae, but it was less than desirable to swim in when wearing light coloured bathing suits. The hotel, however, did clean them and they are white again. Overall we had a great time!

Awesome beach! Good food! Amazing staff! So much to do in the area. The sunset is amazing to watch. The Mexican restaurant was delicious. There is lots of activities during the day, night life only has bars.

We were unlucky to get room with no balcony overlooking back of shopping mall and with noise from ventilation fans 24 hours a day. But room itself was very clean and comfortable. Again our luck, beach was covered with seagrass nobody cleaned and we were "forced" to use pools. Adult pool is just nice. Restaurants are nice and staff is very friendly (except one waiter who served a potato fries for his "friends" and there were not for others). Food was very good and tastefull and best part of it is Italian restaurant. Night entertainment was professional especially Mexican night, only they expect you speak Spanish. All in all not bad but also not so good. For that kind of money we could have more.

We really liked out stay at Occidental Tucancun. The staff was amazing and helpful. All three pools were great, and so close to the beach! The vegetarian options at resort could be improved, but the drinks were awesome. THe 24 hour snack bar needs better options, especially for vegetarians.

This was our first time in Cancún as we usually go to the riviera maya. We loved it. There are a lot of stairs so might not be a good choice for people with mobility issues. The hotel is on the upper level with the three pools staggered down the stairs to the huge beach area at the bottom. We were there for the last week of February and regardless of the pool or beach we could always find a lounge chair. That was a nice change. There was often a line at the family pool bar but the other two pool bars were rarely busy. Pablo did a good job running around the resort keeping everyone hydrated. The rooms and grounds were very clean and well kept. The room was well stocked and comfortable. We were travelling with another couple and the desk was very accommodating and ensured that our rooms were beside each other. This never happens! The food was very good and considering it is a smaller resort than we are used to the variety and themes in the small buffet kept dinners from being too repetitive. The two a la carte restaurants did a great job and offered a good menu. My daughter did not travel with us but she is vegetarian and I often looked at the food choices to see if there were options for her. I don’t think that she would have fared well. Mexico likes their meat and seafood. The biggest treat for us was the friendly service. Omar and Fabian and Nancy and Tomas and Karyme and Antonio just to name a few made this trip extra special. The location is great. The hotel is on this wide expanse of beach but when you walk out of the hotel you are across the street from a huge shopping mall and steps away from the local bus that goes by every other minute to take you into town. If you want to grab a meal off the resort there are many nearby options.

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating--right from booking in to the time we left. We had an ocean view room with a balcony--my wife couldn't stop saying how much she loved it !! There were plenty of pools--including an "adults only"--not overcrowded--plenty of loungers--it wasn't necessary to get up early to put in a "claim" on them. All had close by bars and there was a bar "runner" if you were too lazy to get up! The cleaning staff did a wonderful job not only with the room--but were constantly cleaning all furnishings --for the most part everything looked spotless. I would rate the food 8.5 out of 10. Not a lot of restaurants--but a good variety of choices--and theme nights (seafood,Italian, Mediterranian,Mexican,Asian) and a 24 hr snackbar. Overall a wonderful holiday--we would return.

From check in to getting introduced to the resort then having freedom to be as slow or busy as we wanted, it was great. The lobby bar in the evening was manned by Alex Palma, a very happy and efficient bartender who strives to make folks happy and relaxed. The restaurants food selection was great, my wife thoroughly enjoyed the Italian restaurant with its made on the spot pasta selections. Wait staff: Erick Xeque and Eulalia Torres were outstanding amongst a top notch crew of wait staff in all venues. Everybody did their utmost to ensure you were looked after. The hardest folks to name are the maids. You never really get to meet them but they do great work and deserve many thanks for making our sanctuary clean and comfortable. This is an annual trek to the Caribbean for us and the first time here, we will be back.

Everything was exceptional just as described. Service was great. Handy to all attractions. Mall across street. I plan on going again. Three pool to chose from. It was never overcrowded. I just loved the two weeks I spent there during Christmas and New Years. I Traveled with my sister on this vacation and we both enjoyed everything about this trip.

The grounds were kept extremely clean, the staff was really nice, not really rowdy and the plazas across the street was perfect for night time walks and dinner outside of the resort (for those that wanted a bit of variety). Limited food selection but couldn't complain about anything else.

The grounds are perfect and the food was great. The only con would be the large size of the resort and lack of beach area. Walking from your room to the main lobby, waiting for the correct tolly to take you for dinner, disco or beach was just too time consuming for a holiday. You want to get away from lineups and enjoy your time.

The grounds and public areas were always very clean. The staff at all the restaurants were amazing, always polite and helpful. We had a young girl at one of the pools serving drinks, she was so wonderful, very good with all the guests and had a great sense of humor. The only part of our time at your resort that I hated was when we went to this boardroom the day after we arrived, they offer all these free gifts and they tried to sell us time at your resort, I don't like these sales tactics. Also in the middle of the night the ceiling outside our room collapsed in hallway. I realize things get weak and rusty with all the humidity they have in Cancun.

Barcelo Tucancun Beach also called Occidental Hotel This hotel has very good service from the time you get at the main lobby to the time you leave.The staff were amazing and very helpful. This is should a clean and welcoming hotel. The location is perfect and the food is spot on with plenty of variation. The grounds, beach is beauitful and pools are very well looked after.Rooms are very cleaned and truly a fun hotel. The hotel has alot of activities all day night food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. They did alot of changes The front Desk Receptionis now much larger with a open - concept with multiple windows, a glass wall blur the boundary between indoor and outdoors letting natural light flood. The Main Bar is much larger and brighter and adds enjoyment and relaxtion. It is in tune with the wants and needs and desires of today. The Gym has great equipment,which I truly enjoyed.

Great all inclusive resort by the beach. Clear skies in low 20s. Ocean a little choppy but warm. Rooms well maintained and cleaned often. Several choice restaurants. Voucher reservations for ala carte a bit of a drag. Went as family with pre/teens - not a lot of activities òther than the pool. Spa service excellent (Thx Magda). Beach kept clean however needs umbrellas! Hotel a short ride from airport and behind Kukulcan mall. Excursions at least 2 hours away. Overall wonderful experience recommend it. Friendly staff. English proficient.

This was our first time staying at the Occidental Tucancun. I travelled with my boyfriend looking to have a relaxing vacation and we had just that! We arrived at the resort around 11pm our first evening. We met the lovely Nelly, the cocktail waitress that evening. I suggest getting the mango margarita! They are unbelievable! The beach is just beautiful, those waves do get pretty big! But the water is so refreshing and crystal clear. We spent everyday on chairs on the beach. One great thing is that you dont have to wake up at 6am to get a spot! And there are always chairs on the beach available. If you do want a shaded spot by the adult pool however you do need to get there early they are almost all shaded and get scooped up quickly! The Mexican restaurant was our favourite by far. But all of the a la cartes were quite good. The food all around is very good. Omlettes in the morning were fantastic. Our rooms were spacious and the beds firm but comfy. If you can get the chance to request an ocean view I would, our room was facing the back of the mall across the street, however if you looked out the window while laying down you still saw beautiful water. Every employee we met greeted us with a smile and were very helpful. The only thing I would have to say that I felt was a negative possibly for some was that wifi was $12USD per day. We opted against it but we were okay going without our phones for the week. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in Mexico!

Very clean, great location in the heart of the hotel zone. Located right by the mall which would certainly appeal to some travelers especially on a rainy day. The service was top notch and we were always attentively looked after by restaurant, bar and room staff. The lobby bar was always a nice way to end the evening with Marcos and Jose taking wonderful care of us every night! Delinda(sp) the beach waitress was a constant presence everyday and seemed to never stop but always attentive and so friendly!The room was always cleaned meticulously and the bar stocked with whatever we asked for which was always a six pack of corona! Had a wonderful time and would go back as it was a great value for all that we enjoyed!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Barcelo Tucancun February 17-24 and it exceeded our expectations. The resort was always clean and the staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious and modern with a gorgeous ocean view. Breakfast buffet and the Mexican a la carte were our favourites in regards to the food. Only negative is the swim up bar was not always open during the day, otherwise, highly recommend this beautiful resort!

The hotel was great. We travel often & there were no major complaints. The food was good, the people were friendly, everything was clean. We did have a lovely ocean front room. There would be some small things that need updating/fixing but nothing that would impact your vacation in a huge way. Go to this resort you will be happy you did!

We were blown away by this hotel. The staff and food are top class. The planned activities are excellent. One pool is definitely for the active and music loving folks. We're in our late 40's yet we didn't need to use the adult pool ( which is the one with the swim-up-bar ) as the many poolside waiters continually look after you non stop. The top tier pool with the infinity aspect is probably the best as you have an excellent view from the tanning beds/chairs. We chose the week of March 5-15 thinking we had all the reading, spring breakers and March breakers covered but sadly there were a few rotten apples from norther US States that ruined our last 3 nts yet this would happen in any other similar star rated property. The showers in the rooms are ample and clean. The location of the hotel is ideal. The Mexican restaurant was the best as they served top notch Mexican food. The staff is top notch. We had a problem with the air conditioner and door knob and both were fixed immediately. We definitely have no problems coming back to this property in the future. You can't go wrong staying here and the mere fact that this property is rated 4 stars is crazy as it offers a spa and room service yet the property looks amazing. This can not be said about some of the others we witnessed on the way from the airport to the hotel. Antonio, the bar tender at the top tiered pool was super friendly and could handle the volume of requests like you have no idea. Everyone at the hotel always greeted you constantly with a smile. Great Property !!!

The hotel is small and easy to navigate and the staff are friendly. There are people always cleaning and doing maintenance.Buffets are not that exciting but adequate. The beach is nice and hotel is right on the hotel zone. Rooms were clean and beds wee comfortable.

Beautiful place, clean rooms, personel it was very impressed, food it was ok, to salty no to much choice. Beach ok!!very very cleen looby and restaurants, not cheerful hostess, people and charge of swimming pool towels very rude!!

Hotel was clean. Staff were friendly and the service was quick. Drinks were excellent! Food was good and the restaurants were never overly busy. really close to a shopping center. What else can you ask for?
