Positives - Close to airport. Nice hotel/grounds well kept. Modern clean rooms/amazing cold AC/convenient room key bracelet. No towel shortages. Awesome cafe for coffees and snacks. Great entertainment daily. No sargassum/beautiful beach. Negatives - Moldy smell in room/no exhaust fan in bathroom/app for restaurant reservations didn't work/wasn't resolved (we managed to book some). Bottled water restocking issues. Some food/drink shortages. Pool water too warm. Not enough beach chairs/umbrellas. Smell of sewage on beach. Public toilets broken daily. Guests leaving food unattended attracting lots of birds. Overall, good experience but not worth the price we paid. Hotel could be great with better all around management addressing key issues.

The Royalton Chic was a nice fairly small resort. Easy to navigate around. Loved that it was a quick ride from the airport. We stayed in standard room, was small but clean. Housekeeping was great. Food was good but buffet was always the same. They did run out of some food and drinks at times especially at the food truck and pool and beach bar. But always something else you could get. Loved the coffee shop. Roomservice took forever if you got the food at all so maybe avoid that. Beach was beautiful one the nicest ive ever been to. The people are so nice and friendly and you feel very safe. The place isnt perfect maybe not a top notch 5star but loved our time there and made the best of it!

Did our group of 8 have fun? Yes. Did we encounter some BS... yes. The staff is great. Under staffed though... so they run out of drinks at the pool bar all the time, and cant get drinks you wanted. Made reservations for dinner, then get told they have no food other than fish. Were we able to eat yes...eat what we want? No. Room serviced called 3x... how many times did they show up? 0. Had to call and yell and scream. Did i get it? Yes... 3 hours late... cleaning staff is the best part of this place, and as i said staff in general is great, its terribly managed and owners clearly trying to save a buck. Warning to owner. These bad reviews WILL sink your business eventually. Endless potential there. Wake up.

royalton chic antigua was a beautiful resort with all amenities available. food was wonderful and staff were friendly and helpful. everything on the hotel grounds were clean, maintained. hotel staff checked in with us throughout the trip, we always felt safe and welcome.

Smaller hotel with everything close together. Great service, great entertainment, you can easily relax or party by the pool. Drinks were great, you could get any drink. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

This Hotel clean.with lots of open spaces to relax and enjoy the vacation. The Staff at this resort are probably the friendliest,I have seen at any resort Entertainment was well done,with something different each and every night.

I checked out on November 29th and still have not received my deposit refund as of December 8th, which is very disappointing. Room service was frustrating orders were often incorrect or missing items. Drinks, food, or even simple items like lemons and limes were sometimes out of stock and not replenished promptly, sometimes not even the same day. In-room towels were also an issue; when requested, they often did not arrive the same day. The bar had very limited liquor choices, and the entertainment was consistently disappointing. Most of the time, it was unclear what was happening, and the weekly entertainment schedule was not updated on the app. On the positive side, the restaurant service staff were nice and friendly, and the food itself was good. However, the buffet was poor, and at times the food was cold at the buffet. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations, especially given the delays with the deposit refund and recurring service issues.

After seeing many mixed reviews, we nervously booked this resort. I’m glad we did! The beach and pools were great. The food was good. For the most part the staff was friendly. We upgraded to diamond club for the room location (beach front), what a view! Pescari restaurant was amazing.

Royalton Chic Antigua - Diamond Club We spent 10 days here and also a friend reserved this property. The Pros: our 2 Butlers Maxwell and Terrl were outstanding and went above and beyond and should be awarded, The beach for Diamond club was outstanding, many staff are terrific The Cons: while you will not starve here th food is sub par for our 10k experience. The Italian and Steakhouse are okay with great service. All other a la varies have great service but sub par food. We have visited many lesser quality resorts with much better food. Throughout our stay there was Royalton corporate staff at the resort working on improvement and insight. There are staff that are just over the top rude and should be weeded out. For my 38 years of travel visting many countries and over 45 AI resorts this was not good and we felt the value for a 10k vacation was la king as described and we felt taken advantage of at this price point. We have stayed at other Royalton resorts and this did not match in food quality. The main buffets I can only say need a lot of work. T The Co s

This resort was beautiful, up to date and classy. The staff at this resort is amazing an very friendly. The music was great and the guests were so friendly and fun. Everyone seemed to be relaxed and enjoying themselves. The food is just ok, not very much options. I wouldn't say the food was terrible but not great. Pretty close to night clubs n the downtown core. Pool entertainment was fun and the beach was nice too. Place is very clean n pretty and not overly crowded. I will definitely recommend this place and resort n most likely will return back for another vacation at this spot again. Great job!

Resort was older but nice, grounds were well taken care of, food was good. Tour guides were amazing! Off resort experience was great as the taxi drivers and locals were very happy to assist with directions and suggestions for good food etc. Great place to relax on quiet Dickensons bay. The negative was lack of enthusiasm of the staff members. Approximately 1 out of 7 were friendly and the others barely acknowledged our presence. Tipping did not improve the service. We had to chase down bath towels, the sheets were not changed our entire stay, room cups were rinsed and wiped out with dirty rag, right in front of our eyes, floor not swept and by the time we left we could have built a tiny sand castle in the room. We would love to return to Antigua but not to this resort.

Very old resort not very well kept. Been to other resorts someone always doing gardens etc no one garbage that was on ground when arrived was still there when left. Coffee and beverage in morning not available till 7 am they said it was but if there was no condiments.Didn’t seem to care only one option for lunch dinner at 7pm. Definition of Halcyon: denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful. Starfish Halcyon was truly a happy and peaceful location for our most recent 1 week February vacation. If you are a person that is grateful when your basic needs are met (food, shelter, love/care) and can splurge once in a while to take a tropical vacation, this is the place to be. - Food - excellent with lots of variety and fresh. - Shelter - clean suites, comfortable beds and pillows, working air conditioning, basic working bathrooms, and the opportunity to upgrade rooms if you wish - Love/care - the staff are friendly and will go above and beyond for you if you treat them with the respect you would appreciate in return - The location is exquisite. The water clean and clear; the sand white and soft; the resort surrounded by hills and breezes with birds singing day and night. - The other guests - we met so many wonderful people. I think it's safe to say that the people that book a trip to the Starfish Halcyon are discerning and are those that vacation within reasonable budgets. We met "salt of the earth" people and struck many wonderful relationships. *This place is not for you if you need all the bells and whistles and the latest and greatest. It is not for divas or those who are difficult to please. It is not for the self important. So - please - those people should stay away and let the rest of us enjoy this place that is such a treasure.

We knew when booking this resort that it was older but thought that it would have been maintained better. We had no hot water for the 1st 24 hours of our stay. We finally got a bit after asking for the 3rd time & the maintenance guy played with the taps. But the hot water pressure left a lot to be desired. We had to ask for facecloths. The resort seemed to be short-staffed. There were 2 bars but only 1 was open during the day and it was located on the far side of the resort next to the beach. If you wanted a drink of pop early in the day, you had to walk to the beachside bar. One of our group asked the bartender if he could have a pop at 5:50pm & was told that the lobby bar didn't open until 6pm. There wasn't coffee available in the lobby at any time. Again if you wanted coffee you had to walk to the beachside bar, but after they closed, there wasn't anything but coffee. No sugar, creamer/milk or sugar substitute. On the plus side, the food was delicious, the pool was wonderful and the beach was fantastic. Lunches could have had a few more choices but overall there was always burgers or dogs. The pool was never crowded. The beach had lots of room to sunbathe, play on or roam. With the sand being soft, white & clean.

The hotel was exactly what I was hoping for...very clean well maintained grounds, friendly and helpful staff. The food was good, selection was ok. I can’t say anything bad, because for the value it was great and I had a fabulous time.

Our first visit to Antigua. We read reviews before we came. We like to be open minded and judge for ourselves. Several things were confirmed , the staff are very pleasant and hard working. From all the people in the restaurant, cleaning staff, reception, taxis, beach , to the non stop demands on the bartenders we were made to feel welcome! The food and drinks are great! We never wanted for anything. The grounds are well maintained. Everything from rooms to eating areas and beach were clean. The pier restaurant is very cool, watched a school of snook feeding and jumping from our seats. We took the time to walk up the hill to the old restaurant overlooking Dickenson beach and beyond. Well worth the panoramic pictures I got! If you’re worried about a cracked tile or some chipped paint try Sandals next door.

The beach is really nice, a few rocky spots but lots of soft, white sand and about 1.5km long. The water is warm, calm, and clear (no seaweed). The hotel is very tired but clean and small. Some problems in the room but they certainly didn't bother us: only warm water in shower, not much water pressure, noisy a/c. Food choices are pretty basic but the food is actually very good. Staff were friendly. Never any lineups at the buffet or the bar. Small pool but nice. We got a great deal at 1575 pp over New Years so for the price we paid we were very happy.

The food was really good even though there was not alot of choice the quality was good food. I like that lunch had a variety of food not only burgers and fries. I was disappointed that the a la carte restaurant you had too pay extra for lobster. We ended up not going, they book our dinner the day we were leaving. We went and then they told us we were all booked tonight, that's why they put you there. Not cool. I love that there was no fakeness in people, you get what you see just like kindergarten kids lol. I hate when people aren't real. They were and I loved that about that place. The beach was so close to our room we can hear the waves. I was in love with the sounds. Another big bonus everything is close. The beach, the food and the reception. It was definitely in need of some TLC but for the price and the island it was well worth it.

Don't fly to this sunwing property on sunwing airlines because you may get their head B---- who will tell you and your crying children that you can't go for lunch until your room is ready but yell if you DARE to try and go out of the lobby until your luggage is in your room (which means you missed lunch ) Never have we been denied services and told it's OUR fault that the airline got us there before the rooms are ready esp. when the airline owns the hotel!!! How does that make any sense? We can't get any answers from sunwing. That's not even close to the end of the shit there. The beach is full of rocks and stones; there is no lunch..just a beach grill of hotdogs hamburgs and fries ( when someone has time to make them; prepare to wait forever for that burger) and mostly cold food at supper! Don't expect any entertainment at any time of the day or night any friendly faces at the resort or even anything pretty to see. To cap it all off just when we were thinking at last we can go home we found ou tthat sunwing once again dropped the ball and FORGOT tosend pickup to the hotel for the airport. The wifi is crap so (it was the head B---- on desk again who refused to call and ask until enough of us went up an DEMANDED she call and then 1 family found a taxi and paid themselves; SHE called 1 taxi for the 11 of us left (4 OF US HAD TO REMAIN) and absolutely refused to call another taxi or allow 1 of us to call one because it wasn't her problem. With 1 hour to go a taxi came an d all of a sudden that fat old bitch was able to leave the counter just to SCREAM at us that it wasn't our taxi (and how did she know that ?) A specisl thankyou to those people and their driver for allowing us to join them; I hope sunwing paid all the costs. We were lucky that they allowed us to check in with 40 minutes to flight-time

Went to this hotel expecting a 3 star. Its more like a 2. Curtainsi n room are filthly about 6 inches lay on the floor. Grounds are not kept up . That would make a big difference . Grass is long finally after 4 days they trimmed around stuff. Food was good buut kept running out. Would have to wait for it to be refilled . Not enough waiters and staff to clear tsbles. They tried to keep up.People were covered in bites. From what???? And i mean covered ..top of legs to ankles. Saw room doors open in sections spraying ??? Heard people say they had cockroaches in their rooms. We did not see any.Jamaican soceer team left hotel it was so bad and went to another hotel.

Hotel in desperate need of repair! Paint and concrete peeling from walls. Bathrooms ceilings peeling from water stains and sinks cracked. Toilet leaked and found puddles on the floor when we woke up in the morning. Lights and fans need to be cleaned as they are very dirty. Some staff were friendly like Erl beach bar, Debbie front desk, Michael mgr and Malica nicest smile ever and always happy! Food was good and no complaints. Awesome beach and warm water. Recommendations take your own traveller mug as glasses are not washed well at beach bar. Take your own snorkle gear. We had a blast and met so many new friends from Britain!

We had a spectacular vacation, mainly because of chancing upon a very kind man who showed us the best spots in Antigua. We very highly recommend book a land tour with Linden +1 (268) 720-4537-through whatsapp.

Went in June, start of low season; not too many visitors. The hotel, though clean, needs a lot of repairs/upgrades. Our room is spacious with a sitting area. The closet door is missing door knobs. The room has only 1 electrical outlet, UK plug type 220V. The TV and fridge run on a voltage converter. We request an extension cord but it never comes. So we use the fridge outlet for our cell phone, etc. There are 110V outlets in in public area. The beach is very nice and is not crowded. You can always get a beach 'palapas'. The water is calm and clear. The staff is very cordial and friendly. Low season means there is more trainees in the food services area. But they should be given guidance and instructions. The food is adequate with minimal variation. Low attendance means there is little entertainment in the evening. The WiFi is much better in public areas then in the room.

Room was a little rustic but the food, beach and staff were amazing. We woul definitely return! The drinks were great as well as the service. Fresh towels every day . You are allowed to eat at the alacarte 2 times during the week at the Pier restaurant . Food and service were good here. Plenty of chairs on the beach . Lots of kids in the pool so we stayed at the beach. We would return!

For the price we paid to go to Antigua it was worth it - I have stayed in Antigua previously and paid more than double what we did to stay at Halcyon. The hotel in in need of updating - rooms were bare (place for mini fridge but no fridge, place for luggage stand but no stand, no phone or alarm clock) only one side table lamp worked - BUT when we asked for a coffee maker they came through with a kettle and instant coffee and was replenished every day, when we asked for extra pillows we received them right away, when we asked for table and chairs on our porch they brought some right away..... the hotel was recently purchased by Starfish and it is in the pre-renovation stage which is why it was so cheap - so knowing that we knew what to expect. The rooms were CLEAN and the bed was comfy and isnt that all you need out of a room when the beach is so beautiful......... the resort is on the same bay as Sandals and I can tell you our beach was nicer and cleaner (they raked it every day) the Sandals beach had seaweed from the previous nights storm for that money I would be pissed ..... other than the seagulls coming for my hamburger at lunch and their noisy squawking when food was around the beach experience was great. Normally when resorts offer water sports (kayak, stand up board) they usually have snorkel gear - they should really think of adding it (Rex the previous owners had them in St Lucia and Grenada where we stayed recently) Food was limited but very flavorful - always a chicken and a fish dish with vegetarian options - my favorite was the west indies curry night !!!! I looks forward to seeing what Starfish does with the resort - although hearing how run down Starfish Jolly Beach is from people on our flight I am not sure ...... The people of Antigua re lovely and very accommodating and having a chance to go back and visit at the price we did - no regrets would do it again

Had issues with 1st room No working safe, no smoke alarm. Brown water in sink. Told them i wanted water bottles to brush my teeth. They actually wanted to charge me 3$ us. After received it for free. Told me if i wanted to change rooms it would cost 47$ per person per day.but my room would be fixed 2nd day. 2nd day no change asked to change room. They showed me another room which i agreed to,then went back to them and they asked me how i wanted to pay for upgrade. I told them i didn't and finally they gave it to me at no extra cost. Other things to talk about no room hete. Will speak with marnie about them later in the week

We booked this trip as a last minute deal. We got a great price for a weeks stay on a wonderful island with some of the most amazing beaches! The hotel is “rustic” and needs an update for sure, but we heard it’s coming! Some of the rooms we heard were great, with comfy beds, mini fridge, bathtubs and hair dryers. We had none of these but we made due with what we did have. Not big on complaining. We did get our a/c and safe issues remedied quickly however. In the grand scheme, we were there for the beach. Not the hotel room! Resort was small and had a very friendly feel to it. Opportunity to meet some great people without being overwhelmed with too many. The grounds were nicely kept ( some issues due to age again) and beautiful flower bushes everywhere in full bloom. Staff was friendly, and as typical when going anywhere a smile and a simple “good morning, how’s your day?” goes along way. English speaking people so no language barriers for us! The beach has some of the softest white sand. Didn’t get too hot to walk on barefoot. The ocean was soooo many colours of blue and turquoise you couldn’t even count them all. Not quite bath temp but still very refreshing in the hot sun. The entrance to the beach was tricky at first due to washed in rocks on a drop in the ocean floor, but we figured out the best spot to get in and out and we were set for the week. It did get better over the week. We didn’t go in the pool here for a couple reasons. 1) we went for the beach and beautiful beach we got. 2) we like a pool bar 3) typically all kids were in it and 4) it didn’t seem as the pump etc on the pool were working properly. Very murky ( sunscreen I hope) and just stuff floating around on the top of it. We were perfectly happy to spend all our time at the beach 🏝tho. There were locals on the beach selling tours and trips for all around the island. They’re pretty fair for what they’re selling you. We chose a historic tour with one of the taxi guys in front of the lobby. 5 hour tour was $140 US for up to 4 people. There was one buffet restaurant with a bright blue view of the ocean while you enjoy some wonderful food. No real complaints about any or the food. Flavour, variety and caters to most diets. Only complaint was that it wasn’t restocked according to the flow of guests at times. There was also one al a carte restaurant, but due to the yumminess of the buffet meals we didn’t even go to it. Lunch was always at the beach. Standard burgers, hot dogs fries and fish daily accompanied by a variety of sides. Salads, rice, pasta, veggies. Always something. Cherise is a trouper making your breakfast omelettes and lunch burgers as well. Heleen, Ken and Douffrin at the beach bar were always ready with a cold drink! Maid service left a bit to be desired, but I don’t have a maid at home so it was fine. The overall resort was good. Yes it is dated and needs some work but we didn’t need expect to get a 5 star luxury hotel when we booked a 3 star. We didn’t let the small things bother us and in that we made our last minute beach vacation a 5 star trip! Looking forward to going back again ASAP!

From the airport to the resort is about a 25 minute ride. Resort was close to St John, about a 15 minute cab ride, costing 12 u.s. dollars one way. Only one ala cart on the water, was an extra cost for steak or lobster, which I thought was a little pricey! The restaurant were breakfast/lunch/supper served, was clean, food was good. Had to make reservations if wanting to eat there Sunday’s and Tuesday’s. The barbecue on the beach every day had burgers/hotdogs/pizza with icecream! The beach could have been groomed a little more often, but it was nice and long and is a public beach! Not just for vacationers. Shady spots were a little scares, but the early worm gets the shade! The bar on the beach had lots of variety. Wadadli beer isn’t too bad! Heleen makes the best bbc...which you have to try! A swimup bar at the pool would be nice! Apparently Sunwing has purchased this resort, changes coming. All in all nice resort, all staff from Debbie at front desk to Malaky taking luggage to room, Ed at the night bar in the lobby...all staff are friendly, helpful and would definetly go back!

This hotel is on a gorgeous white sand beach on the lovely Dickenson Bay. The food at the resort was terribly lacking in available options. The food quality itself was decent. The biggest issue with the resort is the absolute indifference shown by most of its employees toward its guests. Basic customer service such as greetings and acknowledging the client was sorely lacking. This absolutely must be fixed for this resort to improve. This woukd be step 1. Step 2 would be offering more food choice. One buffet a beach snack bar and one a la carte only is offered. There was very little variety in the tiny buffet offering. This needs to be addressed. Step 3 would be modernization of the lobby, rooms and resort as a whole really. I understand renovations are coming. The Pool is quite small and murky. I would not return to this resort barring massive improvements.

The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. We did have an issue with hot water a couple of times. The resort is dated and in need of upgrades. The grounds were good, beach great. We would consider it a 3 star at max. Food was good, we did not have any problems. No problems with staff they were friendly. Shout out to our rep Liz, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. If we have anything to complain about it would be lack of shade/shelter for people that are not big sunburn enthusiasts. We met two Sunwing stewardesses, and they said Sunwing just purchased the resort, so they will have lots of improvements to make. All in all I found it was good value for the money.

This was our second time in Halcyon Cove, we came back mainly because of the spectacular beach. We stayed at room 351 which needs maintenance badly. Every time it rained at night, drops of water started to penetrate into the room in 5 different places. Unfortunately one place was my side of bed so it woke me up and we had to start a cleanup. Luckily we didn't have much rain so this only happened 3 times. We mentioned it to our Sunwing representative and received a letter from the office we can move to another room. It was only 3 days to the end of our stay so we declined. Dining is another issue, there is simply not enough room for everyone, dinner starts at 7 pm which is very late for some people so there was a lineup from 6:30pm just to get seated in dining room. I would suggest to open the dining room at 6pm to fit everyone in comfortably without lineups. Ala carte was the worst, we had a booking for 6:30pm and received a meal at 8:30pm. Really bad service. The beach is spectacular and this resort has a lot of potential.

We went to Antigua as 2 couples. This was our first visit to the island. The weather was great, the food was good, almost always something we liked. The beach grill was better when the buffet wasn’t open for lunch. Our room was very dated and the bed very uncomfortable but it was clean. All the staff was friendly and all spoke English very well. There were no stage shows but instead a DJ a couple nights,steel band,live band, and kareoke all down by the beach bar. Casual and a chance to dance and visit with others. The airport was newer and only about 20 minutes drive in mini vans, so directly to our resort. Overall we would return to Halcyon Cove

Hi, we enjoyed this vacation ,stayed in Garden View room--dont book anything less. House drinks with option for premium to purchase. Room does need update & freshening up; staff ,food ,entertainment,location, transportation,all good. Any probs we had with room were immediately attended to. Thought suitable for people looking for a relaxed crowd, not a place for spring breakers (we are in our early 60's). Even though entertainment is loud at times, they usually are done at 10pm. Any excursions are available to book--do take some type of a tour around island to see other beaches, harbours etc..Use bug spray before hitting the beach. Omg worst resort I ever stayed at. Th bathroom clogged my entire stay the bathtub leaked and flooded each time we took a shower. The phone didn’t work the food was ok not many or good restaurants.however the staff was so kind , good and very helpful.

Where to start... I was only at this resort for 3 nights. I wouldn't have lasted any longer if I didn't get a new room. Our room was in the slums of the resort. Smelled like cannabis daily. It was clean, but very run down. No hot water and any time of day. My walk to my room made me feel like I was in a back alley of the worse streets in a very bad town. Food was good!! Can't complain. Beach was nice, but they don't rake it to clean up all the debris that washes up on shore. Under staffed, but the ones that were working were very nice.. Except for our "bell hop" he asked to carry our luggage to our room, but he was only going to take mine and then he only took it to the top of the stairs and dropped it. Good thing he didn't wait for a tip, cause he wasn't going to get one!!! Vendors on the beach, got a bit annoying....All of them had a "special today" Everything was sold in US funds, which made any and all items too expensive for what they had. Friends of mine had a "pool side" room and it was a lot nicer. Still run down, but nicer. If I were to ever go back, I'd want a pool side room for sure.

It was clean the food was great and the staff were fantastic. Dave is very attentive to all guests. Our room was freshly painted and the beach is amazing. Lots of chairs and shade areas. We seemed to miss the rain all week. The Buffett could be a little bigger and the Peir restaurant only allowed 1 booking per week not 3. Overall the price was awesome.

The white sand , the nice sea, and the closeness to them makes the resort amazing. You can walk on the beach all day long .... But, if you wanted to stay in shadow place , you had to " reserve " it early in the morning. The resort itself is old and badly maintained. The repairs are made if somebody complains ( or not made at all ). There is only one restaurant and to get the table you have to wait , there is not enough staff to clean and set tables in timely manner. The food was tasty , we like mostly fish dishes - different every day. The weather was very nice and to resume we has nice vacation

With some updating it could be a nice resort. Needs bigger buffet .The food was good but area too small. More staff needed..pool cloudy and small. It has great potential . the beach is nice. The price was good for the resort would not pay more..the iisland is beautiful and the tour we took was worth what we paid..had a fun time with Terry our tour guide..

Resort has excellent beach, good food, & good people. Resort is tired looking & needs a renovation. The pier alacarte restaurant needs to be opened 7 days week not 5 days which puts pressure on the buffet. The beach bar is understaffed!!

For the value the resort was great. It had a beautiful beach. The rooms were ok except for the bathroom. Nice size rooms. We had great food everyday. The only issue was they need to have another a la cart and more staff. Everyone was friendly. Would we go back. Yes in a heartbeat if they keep the price down.

Great place we will be back we had room 605 top floor a few stairs but room was basic great food and the staff was amazing!!!The weather was perfect easy to find your way around !!!The drinks great and I can’t say enough about how good the staff was.

This was our first trip to Antigua and we loved it!Halcyon Cove was perfect for us and went beyond what we were expecting.we had a pool view room that was spotless and the air conditioning worked great .the food was really good too.The staff was really friendly and always smiling. The beach is amazing !! We will be back

Although this resort is dated and in need of repair it was good value for the money. Spend the extra to be in the renovated rooms on the beach, the room we were in was freshly painted but more needs to be done. The beds were old but reasonably comfortable. The rooms were clean. Tv reception was poor and not resolved with several attempts. Wifi was decent. The food was hit and miss. The beach is beautiful! The pool was small and cloudy didn’t swim in it. The people were very nice and welcoming! I would return to Antigua but would probably up the star rating!!

I love the beach. It is amazing. The food was great. The staff was friendly. However the room was a bit dated. They are doing some painting around the building. The TV was not working. I made a request at the front desk. The repair man came and put another in, but the reception was not good. No wifi in the room so I will have to go to the lobby to check emails and make calls. I would go back again, but give them a while to get stuff sorted out.

Food was great! Staff were friendly. Rooms were three star and our air worked. Had a pool view room. Not a fan of the pool. Ocean and beach was very nice. A la carte was ok but charged for steak. Drinks were great depending on bar tender but most were great! I would come back. Barely any water sports but lots to do on the island!

The hotel is close to the airport. There was a great variety of food. The beverage selection was reasonable. The people where all very friendly and helpful. The beach was amazing with lots of loungers to select from. However the rooms where dated but I wasn't there to stay in my room all day. Overall a great trip.

From what we heard from guests, both new and returning, was that this resort was no longer what it claimed to be. They are way understaffed and you can tell there is a serious lack of funds. I would give this 2 stars at best and that is only because there were select employees who made our trip better. I am not one to complain, but this isn't even a discount vacation at this resort - they should not call themselves all-inclusive. Oh, and there is food at limited intervals during the day (nothing is open/available all the time), you have to pay for their a-la-carte (and it's expensive), water is not free and the bar closes by 10:45. It's not a better-bang-for-your-buck situation unfortunately. Antigua itself is incredible and so are the people :)

The first ground floor room we had was totally unacceptable. Rusty fridge, no bathroom ventalation. Bathroom regoruted just one too many times with the old grout being left behind and covered with the new stuff. Rusty lamp shades Once we spoke to the AC rep we were moved to a recently painted 2 nd floor room which was better. It however took us about 3 hours to complete that process - not something you want to be doing on vacation Not sure about recommending to anyone. You would have to be sure to get a seocnd floor room. The food was fine and staff was nice. Would have to wait and see what starfish is going to do to the place. The watersports were not at all comparable to the Rex in st lucia We lived the Rex in St Lucia and that is why we booked the Rex in Antigua. We were disappointed

From the minute I arrived at the resort I was blown away by the service and the staff. They were welcoming and helpful. What the reviews say about the rooms being older is true, but they are very clean. The beach is amazing. Clean and large and along a nice section that you can walk for quite a while. I will be going back for sure!

The resort has very basic amenities, the grounds are nice, the rooms are clean but need updating big time, the food is plentiful and is excellent! approx 200 rooms. The days and nights have activities and bars close at 11:00 pm the workers here are awesome, polite, they actually pay attention! The coffee is instant coffee! Yuk unless it's just made. You get what you pay for The other downside is they let children in on the weekend to use the pool and beach, so it gets noisy then. Would go back someday.

, decided to go with 4. Here comes the description. Hotel lobby is small. Not much goes on here, no entertainment, but there is a sitting area with a television that was normally tuned to the cricket tournament that was being played in Antigua. There is a fountain of sorts but it didn’t haven’t water?! We spent no time here I found hotel reception quite pleasant during the day, but night staff left something to be desired. If you need money changed, absolutely make sure, you have enough changed at the airport before coming here. They will charge you unsightly amounts for changing currency and it seems to change in quantity with whomever was at the desk. And a lot of times was told they had no money to give you. Or if something happens and you can’t get your money changed, get a taxi into St. John’s,go to the bank, hop back in the cab and you will save money. The shop has next to nothing in it. A bag of doritos will run you 8$ Canadian. If you smoke, buy before you come. The shop is rarely open and if you go to the front desk, they will go in with you, but everything takes a long, long, long time. We were in super saver room with air Canada. I expected the worse but it really wasn’t bad. The maids keep these rooms spotless, you can smell the bleach in her mop water. The beds were a little hard but clean. We didn’t have a mini fridge like other people did but we didn’t miss it. Water was hot after you let it run a bit. Our toilet did clog one night, we told the front desk the next morning at 9, we revisited the desk at 5 because it hadn’t been taken care of. It was done by the time supper was over. Air conditioning was fine. Remote for tv was missing. Lamp didn’t work, but they replaced it. There was a slatted opening/window that didn’t close all the way, so mosquitos did get in. I was bitten everywhere, and I had bug spray. Breakfast was the same every day. Eggs...fried, omelette, scrambled boiled. Toast, bagels, English muffins. Oats, cereal, muffins. Beans, salt fish, johnny cakes, sausage, bacon, pancakes and French toast. Everything was great. Lunch was cooked and served at the beach restaurant. They have a nice set up there with plenty of tables and room for everyone. Too much to mention but for example, shepherds pie, Mac and cheese, cheese burgers, fries,rice, chicken, salads, broccoli, etc. Supper was always delicious. Soup and catch of the day, pork or chicken dishes, rice, potatoes, pasta, etc. Whoever they have employed here as a chef, really truly knows what they are doing. It was superb. The towel hut was available once in the morning and once in the afternoon. No complaints. The pool was an ok size but I never used it so can’t comment. They do have a out of seating and beds for people to lounge. They do host aerobics and volleyball in the pool. The beach was nice. The water was generally warm but very cloudy. Definitely can’t see the bottom, which was just as well, lol, something keeps nipping your toes. Crabs I suppose, and there are bigger, longer fish that hang around the pier restaurant. There is a small drop off when you get a few feet in the water, that was fun when you try to get out of the water, not! There Were water craft available but I’m sure u had to rent them...nothing...I mean nothing is free and no one will give you a deal. As soon as they see tourists, the price goes higher and higher. Before going here, make a list of things you need and do not forget anything, cuz it will cost you. Night life is non existent. Friday night they did have a live band and they were truly great. I think they played for hour and a half. Saturday night they had a steel drum band and they were fantastic. They did have karaoke there one night. The host was off key and the singers were atrocious. Anyway, off base. It was a decent week, very relaxing. If you can get past all the vendors wandering around trying to sell hats and coconut shakers and jewelry and excursions, it’s not too bad. The only reasons I wouldn’t go back is the price is too high, the flight a little too long and even tho the food was fantastic, the beaches are still nicer in Cuba. Hope this helps. I probably forgot lots, any questions ? Lol Oh, and if you are in a wheel chair or unable to do stairs for any reason, don’t go, lots of stairs to get to meals

We've been in Antigua twice already and this place is the best so far! Quite large room, very good beach (needs only a clean up more, if they remove the small rocks from the beach it would be as good as Sandals beach ) and service is nice, quiet and cozy place for people who needs a rest and relax.

Beach is gorgeous. It’s wide and flat with sand like flour. You never fight for a spot on this quiet and relaxing gorgeous stretch of beach. Staff is phenomenal. Loved barmaid Heather, waitress Julian and our maid, Alise. Food was best we’ve ever had at an all inclusive. Beautiful dining on pier restaurant with atmosphere plus. Wine was very good, both the red and white. Lunch right by the beach everyday was perfect and lots of variety. Rooms were clean, mattress comfortable but they are very tired. Rooms definitely need an upgrade. We had a few minor issues and maintenance responded immediately. Rooms were clean. If rooms get a much needed upgrade this place would be 100% perfect. Once again we were happy with Angela from Trip Central.

The Rex Halcyon was charming. The grounds are lovely and our room was well equipped, clean and comfortable as well as being ideally located with a view of both the pool and the beach. We loved every minute of our week there. The staff was friendly and helpful without being intrusive and the food was plentiful and very good. The beach is amazing and we never had any trouble finding loungers. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Very old and in need of help. Paint peels off ceiling when you use bathroom. Door creeks and sliding doors stick. No dresser, furniture ancient. Whole place is ancient. Needs to be shut down for 6 months and redone, then they can raise the rate, get a 4 star rating as long as they keep the same staff. Staff and food only good thing about this place.

My wife and I were there March 6-13 and had a really good time. Yes the resort is older and could use some tlc, but our room was clean and provided everything we needed for the week, a place to sleep and change clothes. The rest of the time was spent relaxing on the beautiful beach and swimming in the gorgeous water. Breakfast and dinner buffets were good. Not a huge selection to choose from, but what was there was very good. Lunch grill by the beach was good everyday as well, lots to chose from as well. Beach bartenders were good and never had to wait very long for a drink. All in all we would go back for sure.

Despite some negative reviews of this resort, my husband, two teens and I went for a week. We had two rooms and upgraded to garden view rooms with king beds and fridges. The rooms were beautiful, with views of the garden and the perfect blue sea. We were in the main lodge, and only about 30ft to the beach. We loved the food, the friendly service, the steel drum band, the Antiguan dancers. The beach is epic, the views from Warri Pier at Sunset are incredible. The resort is not as polished as some others, but if you want to see Antigua, this is a fantastic place to stay. Liz, the AirCanada rep at the resort, is a worth her weight in gold. She knows everything, and made sure our trip was safe and fun. We did the land rover safari, the catamaran snorkel trip and spent a day wandering around Saint John’s. The locals are friendly and helpful. Antigua is beautiful beyond words.

Lower than our standards but we made the best of it & had a great vacation. Le Carta restaurant on pier is nice (3 times per 1 week stay) lots of mosquitoes. Rooms very basic Linens old but clean. No safe, hairdryer, coffee pot, iron etc. Beach was not the greatest even at Sandals next door. Rocky with seaweed & debri. Antiqua Village further down has the best beach. Beaches in Antiqua are public. I would be very disappointed if we had paid top dollars but considering the price it was okay & I was pleased we had come. Would I return to this resort again...... no probably not.

It is a dated resort. The location is very good and the proximity with the wild hill is beautiful. The beach is nice and long (perfect for running and for walks) although water is not always calm. The food is simple but good. The rooms are large and clean but not fancy at all, they are dated but they have the basics. Most of the rooms have a very nice view of gardens and from the balcony you can also see the ocean! The staff is nice. You pay for what you get. I really enjoyed my stay here!

It was a great hotel. Basic but everything you need. The beach was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. Keep in mind, it is NOT a five star so there are no bells or whistles but it's all the basics you need and great food.

Booking with Tripcentral was very good very informative for our vacation. However, after a four hour delay on the runway in Toronto upon arrival we were given a room that was sub standard. The door to our room would not close it was off the top hinge to which they told us they would fix it in the morning. Among other things, the patio door we could not use, not workable, the air conditioner did not work. We had no lock box for our valuables and no coffee in the room. Two towels were provided, no bathmat, face clothes and hand towels. It took them four days to move us to another room and only after we were very demanding. Again, you people were very helpful to us but would not return to that resort. Antiqua is a very lovely island. Thank you, we do plan on booking with you again next year. John and Elizabeth VanBerlo

We enjoyed our stay. Great walking and swimming beach (about a mile of walking beach). Food was good. Staff was friendly. Rooms pretty basic. A great restaurant on the pier, we ate there twice. They need more beach chairs. The island was fun to explore. We did that two days with a driver. Wouldn't recommend renting a car as they drive on the other side of the road as in England and not much signage.

We are easily please as we travel quite a bit we like the resort its 3* so if you go in knowing that then you wi enjoy its a little repudiative on food but food was all really good STAFF ARE AMAZING RIGHT DOWN TO MAITIENCE GUYS the only thing we had issue with as we have never traveled with Air Canada vacations or Air Canada they lost our golf clubs still have none and we are back a week , and the dewy at the airport was 5 hours but they tried hard and sh... does happen so go in knowing not to sweat the small stuff bring your own towels and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and people Kim & Mike

I went in with low expectations from everything I read and was blown away! The food was unreal although I wish they had food 24 hrs. There is no late night snacks and nothing in between meals. Also it’s hard to get good drinking water and hey charge for water bottles. The rooms were awesome bed was amazing! The service was top notch especially Dolston,Dave and Heleen! Bar closes at 11 which I thought would suck but if you are nice to them they will set you up with enough drinks to last a while! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone!

The Hotel was much better than I was anticipating, the grounds are lovely lots of flowers, the rooms are clean and lots of space, nice balcony or patio if on the bottom. We had a top (third) floor room and the view of the ocean was to beautiful! The staff are all friendly and the service was great. The patio Bar offers table service, we did not expect service like that for the money that we paid. The welcome drink when checking in was a bonus. We met lots of people and made some new friends. While the hotel is 'tired' and needs refurbishing, the staff, food and beach are amazing. Bartenders at the beach bar are great - super friendly and accommodating. The fact you can change beach towels during the day is a plus.

The resort was what we expected from other reviews. The room was dated but clean. Everything worked in our room. Food was very good. Drinks were good, including the wine. Not alot of entertainment. Some of the staff were friendlier than others. The servers in the buffet could have had more enthusiasm. The resort is close enough to St Johns to walk. It took a little over an hour each way. The island safari in the open jeep was interesting and fun! If you want a relaxing holiday at a small resort, this is the place for you. Antigua is beautiful!

The Rex is very weathered. The first room they put us in was maybe a 1.5 stars. We went to the desk and they did get us another rooms. This was better, the view was nice, no stairs and a a bed that was OK. The rooms could be cleaner, and what little furniture we had was very dated. They nickel and dime you. 50$ for converter, and if you lost towel or keys another 50$ each. The entertainment was not bad, but did end at 10:30 and the bar closed at 11:00. Way to early for us. You could only get internet in the lobby. This day in age, there is no excuse for this. They had the best beach, cool sand that stretched quite a distance - no fighting for chairs - very nice. The food was good but repetitive. The guys in our group did not like having to always line up to eat. The restaurant on the water was very good. Incredible view and the food was excellent. Most of the staff were very nice and tried their best.

Our room was adequate with clean sheets & towels. The people were wonderful, everything we needed was made available to us if it weren't in the room and we enjoyed the grounds and walks on the beach. The only thing that could be improved was the public washrooms across from the check-in desk with its faulty fawcetts which sometimes felt it could break. All in all a good resort.

Upon our first arrival I was greeted with a drink and a friendly smile at the front desk by Aretha, who checked us in quickly and efficiently. The hotel is really dated and the rooms are in need of some repairs, however the bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of hot water, clean towels, and the staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. There were plenty of activities and we were always encouraged to join in. I really liked the morning workouts in the pool. The food was really good, we enjoyed the two dinners on the Pier, the Tuna Steak was delicious! The buffet dinners were amazing, Roast Beef one night with Yorkshire Pudding and all the fixings. Italian another night. Lunch could have had more variety, but it was consistently good with Burgers, fries, salads, fix your own sandwiches, and always fresh fish each day. Breakfast had a variety of food, fresh fruit, oatmeal, eggs cooked any way you wanted with a variety of bread and pastries. There was a wide variety of drinks at the bar and they had tea, coffee and cookies every afternoon. Our Air Canada rep, Liz was there every day and always answered any questions we had. The beach was beautiful and long enough to go for walks, Sandals hotel is right next door. We had entertainment every night and it always ended around 10:30, so it was never a problem getting to sleep at night. All and all good value for the money!

While the hotel is run down and in need of repair, everything else about Rex makes up for it. The food, staff and beach were fantastic. The wifi in the lobby worked well (but take bug spray because the mosquitos are really bad in that area). We didn't spend any time at the pool so I can't comment on the pool area. We took a taxi into town with no problems. The beach is public so vendors try to sell things but after saying no, they wish you a great day and move on. It's about a 10 minute ride to/from the airport. I can't wait to go back!!;

The grounds of the hotel were okay. The rooms were not good at all. Our room was not good at all... Our tv was so badly damaged, our safe had to be fixed, the pipe from the sink to the drain was completely missing they did repair it, the closet doors were missing and after being asked they did replace the bedding with a new one. The food was okay but not much of a selection. I would not return to this resort.

Nice small resort. No coffee maker or bottled water in the room. No snack bar for if you get hungry after dinner or anytime of the day. Beautiful weather and ocean. Nice pool. I recomend the catamaran cruise it's a blast. Make sure you sit up front cz when the carribean sea meets the alantic ocean you get soaked by the waves it's so cool. Also took the island tour by taxi. Got to see alot of culture and history. Stopped at a cpl of nice beaches to swim and had a nice carribean lunch. Staff very friendly and they had nightly entertainment and stuff throughout the day. All in all a very nice trip.

The hotels location is perfect. The beach is perfect ! All the staff are amazing. Go out of their way to ensure your satisfied. Food is very good - changes constantly. Hotel and rooms are tired. These need a facelift.

Rex Halcyon Cove is a small resort with great friendly staff and good food. We found that we were able to get around the resort easily and it also allowed you to get to not only know the staff but all the great guests. You can keep to yourself or meet new people. The beach was amazing. They only have one pool which is a nice size if that is what you like. Fenton the entertainment supervisor was fun and always trying to get the guests to try new things or just get moving whether it be aquatics in the pool or bingo or trying cricket. The resort is a bit tired but is being worked on and updated. I would recommend staying here. We met people that have been going there for years.

This hotel is clean, well maintained, easy access to all facilities. Always a different place to have either breakfast, lunch or dinner. Staff are always ready to help, they are patient and try to make you feel welcomed. The beach is clean to what is humanly possible , there is however some smoker who throw cigarettes butts to the beach. Unfortunately, staff have to bend their backs to clean the mess. There is plenty of space to relax and not be bother by smokers. The water is clean and you can see fish around you the whole time. If you happen to check the weather report before you arrive and see thunder storms, do not panic. The rain if few, warm and you can enjoy it even while you are on the beach bed or in the water. We did it! Going on the tours is something to take advantage of. We had great tours around the island and went to Barbuda, a little extension of paradise. The ferry which bring you there is a little bit hard on your back as it jumps the two out of the three hours of trip length. But hey, worth it! Some tips, bring a cushion, bring some chips and packed food, change many one dollar bills for the tips prior trip, the banks have change but the lines are long. Overall, well recommended, bring yourself, your spouse and your children. It is a beautiful place to give yourselves a prize from your hard work.

There are three things that I personally expect from a vacation. Good food, a beautiful beach and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The Rex met all of my expectations. Yes the buildings are old so it's not a palace, but my husband and I don't care about that. Management and staff work really hard at making the best of what they've got; for example, changing the colours and patterns of the table cloths in the main dining room. We loved the white sandy beach, the lunch at the Carib bar, the yummy dinners and desserts. Italian night was beyond excellent. Thank you to all for a great holiday. Margaret and Brad

This resort was amazing. My husband and I traveled with my two sisters. We were booked in on the ground floor #231 and #236 not side by side but great. We met amazing staff and the group of vacationers were in our age group,(48-65) very few kids. Drinks at the bar were extensive for a all inclusive hotel. Black russians, margaritas, etc. Yes our room was dated (bamboo, not so bad) and was cleaned to perfection when we wanted it to be. The water and the beach was amazing. Plenty of lounges! Definitely would go back!

The staff gets an A for amazing. We felt right at home when Dwayne greeted us with cold drinks while we were checking in. He was very helpful and welcoming. The staff was wonderful!! Great stay for our family including our two grand- daughters(one and two years old). The front desk staff were amazing especially in their prompt effort in helping us to locate a doctor in finding a doctor to get some medication for our son. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. Housekeeping was excellent. Overall great seven days.

Resort is very tired, but the staff , with the exception of front desk (very rude), food & drink, beach are all very good. Rooms are large and cleaned daily. Only one ala carte restaurant which is only open 3 days/week.

This hotel was what I expected for the price and the fact that it was listed as a 3 star. The beach was good and the same beach shared with the Sandles Resort right next door. Very windy when we were there so snorkelling wasn't an option as the water had no visibility. As previous reviews said the staff were wonderful and the food was good. The hotel is run down and does need many repairs. Any complaints we did have, ie: no hot water, were addressed immediately.

Very poorly managed. Staff are not friendly, no smiles, no how are you etc... I met only 2 of the staff that were friendly. Rooms are old but clean. Food was good. The a la carte restaurant is not worth it as you have to pay for 80% of what is on the menu. The beach was nice but small, lots of sand fleas and only one small pool. Came back with bites all over my legs. Heard that they are being bought out by Sandals. It needs an upgrade bad.

Hotel a little runned down but very clean. Great staff (reception, server, bar, cleaning, etc). Great location on the end of the bay. Quiet area and good for babies, small kids and elderly. Food was fresh and good.

Right on the same beach as Sandles, ocean and beach was amazing. Simple and clean older hotel, quiet perfect for R&R. Food was simple, but tasty. Modest variety in food, Engish influence, With tea time between 4-5. I would suggest a snack bar, be added for in between meal times, and one complementary bottle of water in room. I would definitely go back.

We loved our stay at the Rex. This was our second time and I must say they have improved. The new manager has a lot to do with it. We will return. One of the best beach you will ever find. If you like a small resort with no Belles and Whistles look no further

The hotel is set on beautiful beach. The staff are warm and friendly. However the whole place needs some maintenance. The rooms are clean but not well maintained...so the shower leaks, there's no light bulb in the socket...there's wires sticking out of the walls and the whole place needs a paint job. But despite the worn furnishings we enjoyed our stay because the staff was warm and welcoming. The food was great. And the place was clean.

We have returned from our warm winter week in Antigua. This year we selected the REX – Halcyon Cove Resort for this. It was our third time to this resort. Each time we wonder if there will be a next time for in 2008 it looked like it needed an extreme makeover as well in 2000. The problem is REX offers this get away as a cost cutting savings, thus it doesn’t have the resources to do what the Sandals can do to make it a beautiful looking resort. The staff was always working with us on making sure our needs were meet. Including the General Manager – Riaan – that seemed to be everywhere and there never was a task he wasn’t willing to do. We were amazed how all the staff was really engaged in making our stay so pleasant. Part of our visit we give away two pewter pint tankards to the staff at the resort. We place the name of everyone that helps make our stay. Every time a person does something for us I would add their name again and again. On the last evening we place all the names in a hat and have two lucky people receive the pewter pints. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm to have another name added to the vast collection. The lucky winners this year was Tiphany (server) and Dolston (bartender). There was one bartender – Kai that had at least 17 names in the hat but unfortunately her name wasn’t drawn on Saturday evening. The meals were good but needed to have a little more diversity in the offerings. Some examples are more fruit in the morning - pineapple was only available one morning and prunes were only offered twice after my wife had asked. The cheese they offered was not a cheddar but more on the Velveeta style that I hadn’t had since I was a young lad. I could never understand why onions or scallions had to be placed on the salad at lunch and dinner when they had a bowl of them offered in the salad bar as well. It took several days to get our allergy problems resolved and after that the dinners went very well including the barbeque on Saturday evening for both my wife and myself. There was always something we could work around our issues for breakfast and lunch. Our first room had issues with the electricity and we were moved to another one across the resort. That one had the electric outlet available for the UK hair dryer and curling iron my wife had purchased for these resorts. The room was very spacious but had issues with the water being brown (iron) and not very hot. Also I had to have someone return several times to fix the safe, so I could get in it again. The 4 digit code seemed to get lost and cause it to lock until someone came to over ride it. As return REX customers – three times to the Halcyon Cove in Antigua and four times to the REX Grenadian and once to the REX St. Lucian we would think there might be some special thing to acknowledge that we had chose this resort chain for our winter vacations. At some of the REXs there was a variety of ways they thanked use for selecting them. As a place to go and not break the bank, I would recommend it. The valued for the dollars spent is there. Just remember it is like a Red Rood Inn/Holiday Inn that needs some work done not a Hilton or Ritz Carlton.

Well kept grounds, good food, clean rooms. Amazing beach and pools! Friendly staff and lots of activities. I would definitely return. We were there during the Christmas holidays and it was absolutely great!

Resort was clean and beautiful. The staff were very friendly and helpful . Food was excellent they work hard to ensure our experience was a good one. And it was a great experience.we also liked the fact that you could go off the resort unsupervised and do sightseeing or walk around St. John's .its a beautiful island that caters to all tourist and the people are very welcoming .

This resort is perfect for those who don't need much. The rooms are good always clean facilities (pool/beach) are perfect for those who have little kids and for the adults who just want a quick and refreshing dip in the water. It is unfortunate that one side of the beach (closest to the bar and carib dining) has lots of stones on the sand and upon entry to the water but again it is easy to deal with. Although the islanders deal in $US currency we brought the $EC and there was no issues working with the exchange. Anywhere you want to go is a taxi ride away and not expensive and taxis are readily available right on the resort. All of the staff are so very nice and helpful special thanks to Shane in the main dining for making our stay that much more enjoyable. This young man works hard and it is obvious that he will go places in life if the right opportunity is presented to him. Overall a good little resort.

Staff: Friendly! Seem timid at times however getting conversating with them and they are great people! Fenton - Entertainment Dept - chirp him if you want to see some activities happening on your stay!! Especially water aerobics !! He's pretty hilarious and can get things going if you JOIN IN ! Janet - the towel lady - she seems shy, however once you get her talking shes pretty awesome Dave - the dude on the beach with matching everything! from glasses to hat to shirt......buy excursions from him and he'll take care of you. Very personable and laid back! Orlando - Bartendar - Call him Boss!! Ask him for the "orlando special" and youll love that drink Great bartendar and very humble! Dalston - Bartendar - older gentlemen, but dont let that fool you! He can jam and have great convos with you! Great bartendar as well!! Very personable! Ann-Marie - Restaurant supervisor - shes amazing laid back and personable. Love her. All the ladies at breakfast are amazing also!! Miss chatting with them already Food: breakfast amazing, lunch the curry chicken, jerk chicken and stew chicken were IDEAL! Especially the BBQ day on Saturday eve! Restaurant Staff: amazing service. no complaints. Rooms: Average. If you have been to Cuba - same type of feel. Bathrooms could get some renos however you have all you need. Fridge: All inclusive doesnt get you water, pop or alcochol in your mini fridge which makes no sense to me. A FIRST experience for me and ive travelled everywhere in the caribbean and that MAFE NO SENSE. The water on the resort is safe to drink, even though the locals tell you to get bottled water instead because its better. I drank the water given on the resort amongst others and we are all fine Snacks: BRING SOME WITH YOU.......as things are a bit pricey in the hotel shop. just saying. I get they need to make money, however if you can bring your favorites from home, i recommend it. Coffee Lovers: my recommendation is bring your own! Housekeeping: Keep things tidy! We left tips each day and the room was clean and good to go and stocked with towels, toiletries and bed made everyday. A La Carte Menu: That is only one and the ODD part about it, is youhad to pay for? It wasnt included in all inclusive- which is another thing that makes no sense to me - as all inclusive SHOULD include those things. So keep that in mind. We stayed on room 336 which gave you a nice niew of the beach and pool area. The ocean view rooms that actually face the ocean do not have balconies. Sunday do the Shirley Heights Excursion. The Mountain top view is gorgeous! Also bring exta cash to enjoy their BBQ there and a few drinks! Its worth it ! All in all a relaxing vacation. If you are looking for a party resort this isnt the one for you.
