Great value hotel right on the beach
Stayed here for 4 days to see Negril, came in with proper expectations given the size and amenities and was very happy overall with the trip. The hotel is small and location is amazing, steps from the beach. Rooms were a bit dated but clean and the vaulted ceiling on the 2nd floor made it seem larger. Continental breakfast was great as we don’t eat heavy breakfasts. Fruit, cereal, toast with butter and jam, muffin, a hard boiled egg with tea / coffee /juice. We tried the salt fish fritters off the menu and they were good. Staff were all nice and helpful. The beach is beautiful, white sand and calm waters, you can walk all day long. Soft sand underfoot in the water and no rocky areas by the hotel beach. Great places to eat all around, honestly in Jamaica you can’t go wrong with food. There’s so much pride and love in what they make, with recipes handed down for generations. This hotel wasn’t fancy and if you go in with the proper expectations it delivers a good value option for exploring Negril - clean, safe accommodations at a great location.

Resort needs a huge upgrade
The hotel is very run down and our room was full of ants. We had no hot water and our room wasn’t cleaned the whole week we were there. The staff are amazing and the beach is gorgeous. We would not book again.

Never again to this resort!
This “resort” needs major help. Where do we start! No hot water….it would get a little warm if you let the shower runs for 20 minutes before getting in, if not you froze to death. There was only 1 key to our room since the card lock was broken. Housekeeping couldn’t access our room to clean it because we had the only key. We had to chase down the cleaning staff just to get clean towels, toilet paper and other essentials. We didn’t have a fridge in our room, they expect you to pay $10 US a day to have one. The ice machine was always broken so you couldn’t get your water cold. Now the best part. There are 2 large bars near that the locals go to. Parties every night. Most times they went until 5am!! Oh yes, we were suppose to have a king bed with a garden view. That did not happen. We had a single bed and a small double bed and our garden view was overlooking the parking lot of the bar next door! One night was horrendous, the night before their “Labour Day” holiday party until 5:30am. Two very bad accidents on the road in front of the “resort” racing motors and extreme loud bass music. We had one night that we were able to sleep. Oh yes, I can’t forget to mention the bugs in your room, the roosters and dogs barking as soon as the music stops in the early hours. Stay away from “rooms on the beach”!

Rooms on the Beach !
Pretty plain Resort no bells are whistles comes with a complimentary breakfast that is repeated every day. It is beside Woodstock the resort very loud music so late at night very loud we were close to the ocean so it was probably louder for us if you want quiet get closer to the road rooms low number buildings building 1 2 3 4 we don't want seven or nines or close to the ocean and right beside Woodstock the noise is very loud we just got home it is pretty quiet there the prices for food that went up substantially the resort was clean nice and full maid service they gave us ice Restaurant is only open till 3:00 p.m.. the water was beautiful turquoise water we had a lifeguard yadin was his name you could ask him to get you whatever you need umbrella chairs. Patricia was the maid she took good care of us made sure we had sugar and coffee and clean the room whenever we wanted pool towels are available the chairs on the beach or at the resort are not yellow anymore the price of booze was very reasonable. I had one problem the hired security guard stole my Bluetooth speaker but in the morning I turned it on with my phone and it was in his bag in a Cupboard I could hear it playing his name was David, was not impressed. I told Kim Misha about it and she was going to get somebody and David came over and pulled it out of his bag but at least I got my speaker back I think he was surprised when I could turn it on and off with my phone. It is very quiet at this Resort in May except for Woodstock next door but you are in the middle of the Seven Mile Beach which is nice you can walk both ways the sun was very hot and a lot of rain is expected for the time of year. I have been there before and I will probably go again sometime , The Price is Right! Oh yeah it does have a large pool that is cleaned every morning by Yadean. The rooms were a fair size had a single bed and a double bed we had lots of hot water when we found out where to put the handle and the air conditioning was great and you would get a little small TV and a little coffee pot with some tea and coffee and sugar but they don't have any cream you had to go to the kitchen to get cream for the coffee . The continental breakfast existed of coffee tea orange juice a bagel or white or brown toast two little pieces of watermelon two little pieces of pineapple two little pieces of cantaloupe and I mean little pieces and little bit of jam and a little bit of butter for your toaster Bagels and a little cupcake chocolate sometimes or blueberry that's everything, and an hard boiled eye. You can also order off menu ! $. There are a few places across the street that you can eat little restaurants and there's a little store and there is also the jerk chicken guy that sets up at night time right across the street from the resort the price of chicken rice and a little veggies with a piece of Festival was 1500 Jamaican dollars which is about 15 bucks Canadian which is about $10 us. If your transportation is supplied by your air service the trip is approximately 2 to 3 hours from Montego Bay to Negril .

Great location, right on the beach.Right next to some Live music spots (noise was not an issue for sleeping). Front desk, room cleaners and bar tenders were all very kind and helpful. Above and beyond to make you feel at home. I rebooked my next stay before I even got home.

Rooms Negril
We loved the hotel. The garden area was very clean and well maintained. The room was comfortable. It was good to have a safety deposit box. The beach was great. The continental breakfast was good, you have the option of buying a la carte also. We tried the a la carte breakfast and it was very tasty. The lunches were also fine. Great front desk, restaurant, bar, and cleaning staff. The hotel was perfect for us because we wanted the beach and the option of eating at different restaurants on the strip. If this is what you are looking for, then go for it.

Fantastic Time!!!
My wife and myself, vacationed here from March10th to the 17th.The resort is directly on the most beautiful beach, water is calm, sunsets absolutely breathtaking. The resort features a continental breakfast, with a fruitbowl, hardboiled egg, toast or bagel pluscoffeee, tea and or juice, this was very filling and fresh. You could also order fresh cooked breakfast, such as bacon and eggs. You have the option to order dinner such as hamburgers and hotdogs as well as tradional Jamaican dishes,Miss Kimmy was the best. The room we had was on the second floor of building 5,it had a vaulted ceilings and the shower had plenty of hotwater and Miss Tenesha kept the room sparkling clean. This is not an all inclusive resort but if you are looking for a lowkey real Jamaican vacation this is definitely the ideal spot!!!

Disappointing stay
Not impressed. These are the major issues, there are more but not enough space: Couldn’t open the door to first room given, used a key not a card, deadbolt broken. Paid for garden view Kingsize bed, got a double and twin bed. Room catégories not same as website. Inquired about upgrade to beach view, was told the resort was full, saw empty rooms during our entire stay. No follow up from staff. Requested fridge before arriving, had to pay $8US per day upfront before installed. In room safe required padlock. No coffee maker. No blankets, took 3 days to get 2 blankets. Room was cleaned twice in 10 days. Took a full day to get toilet paper. Cold water in sink non functional, shower had no faucet, no (limited) hot water or pressure. Hard to see image on TV. Restaurant closed at 3pm. Was given a lot of excuses but no action to accommodate. Beach littered with cigarette butts.

Great Location!
This is my 3rd time at Rooms Negril. I will continue to go there annually but it does have a few minor issues that aren't even worth mentioning. Most importantly the wi-fi is an issue. It did not exist! So if this is important to you, you should keep this in mind. It was always going to be "fixed tomorrow". Other than that it is at a great location. Lots of restaurants in the area, fabulous beach, friendly people and staff. Many, many return guests who come for weeks or months at a time which says a lot. But be forewarned, this is NOT a fancy all-inclusive. That is a different type of vacation. If you want to meet the people of Jamaica and taste the actual cuisine of the island and the wonderful restaurants in the west end then this is the place for you!

Excellent 10 days at Rooms on the Beach, Negril
Upon arrival our room was ready, staff were very accommodating when we asked to be change to a lower level and we were changed the next morning. Reception staff were very helpful if we had questions or concerns, they would go out of their way to help. Continental breakfast was great to get our day started and if you require more or if we slept in as we did some days, we purchased a full breakfast for an excellent price. Lunch is also very good at Rooms. The rooms are clean and modern, beds very comfortable with fresh white linen. Cleaning staff did a great job, our room was always clean when we returned from the beach. Beach is beautiful, O’Neil and Chris did a great job of making sure the beach was clean and that we had everything we needed on the beach. Security is great they check your room number as you leave and arrive back. We had a wonderful weather for 10 days and hope to return soon for a longer visit next time making this our 7th visit to Rooms. Thank you Rooms you did not let us down!!!! 🤗😎 and Thank you to Tripcentral as well for your great service!!!

rooms are clean and spacious. Beach was kept clean and lots of room to lay around. One downfall is the restaurant, the diner menu is minimal, not enough variety to choose from and quite pricey. Amazing vacation at Rooms!
Quick and easy check-in, the room was good. Loved how everything is so close, quick walk to the beach or the reception. AC worked and we had hot water. Never ate the complementary breakfast. Just paid for the Rise n shine for $5. Great bacon, eggs, beans and toast for breakfast. Lots of great restaurants close by. Highly recommend Best in the west. Short walk from the hotel, but stay away from Woodstock. It's overpriced and not the best food. Shout out to Kelvin, the best bartender! Can't wait to return!

Wonderful location!
The resort was good. The rooms and grounds were clean. The beach is simply beautiful. You will not regret attending this location. There are plenty of restaurants for lunch and dinner walking distance from Rooms. As with all vacations, there were a few issues which were quickly resolved. The staff were wonderful. We walked to town on a few days (approx 25 minutes one way on the beach). Plenty of establishments have entertainment (karaoke, live bands, jam sessions). I would not hesitate to return to Rooms, Negril.

Great vacation - great people, great location and great memories!
This was our first non all inclusive vacation and we had a fantastic experience. We were assigned an ocean front room complete with wooden verandah and fridge just steps away from the beach which contributed to our pleasant experience. TRANSFER to hotel from MoBay - uneventful, stopped for rest break and beer (overpriced!) CHECK-IN/OUT: Quick, efficient - the agent was very personable and welcoming ROOM: comfortable bed but not enough pillows, our safe was missing the digital mechanism but that was quickly rectified, our air conditioner worked well however was leaking - this was not rectified during our stay. Bring your own toiletries as you will only have those tiny bars of soap. The cleaning staff did an amazing job every day to keep the room clean. GYM: the temperature is not conducive to working out, it is stuffy and hot, the equipment is average - did not see many people using the facility STAFF: Amazing, everyone from the ground keeper to the manager far exceeded our expectations, everyone was happy to help and answer all of our questions - I observed the staff throughout the week and they always went out of their way to make everyone feel special. The manager Ms.Grant is an elegant woman who is very professional and you can tell takes pride in her role, her staff and the property. FOOD: Breakfast is included in the package - (hard boiled egg, variety of cold cereals, bread to toast yourself, choice of pastry and a few pieces of fruit plus coffee, tea and juices (every day it seemed like they ran out of coffee - we always bring our own so did not affect us personally). You can also order a bigger breakfast from the menu for a reasonable cost. We had lunch twice at the hotel and it was yummy and very reasonably priced. There are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance, from street and beach vendors to 5 star restaurants, from Chinese, Italian, yummy jerk chicken to fusion foods - we never had a bad meal. BEACH: It does not get better than this - clear water, powdery beach, warm water - it's perfect and the sunsets are spectacular. VENDORS; 2 great pattie vendors on the beach - offering beef, chicken, shrimp, veggie and pumpkin patties - regular or hot - the best!!! Also vendors with real fruits, other treats and merchandise. Did not encounter any issues or harassment from anyone - except for a lobster vendor on the beach - he is located to the right of Rooms, right before the sign (Wake and Bake!). You will note his lobsters in a cage in the ocean - we will try to rip you off and then intimidate you. He quoted us $20 for 3 lobsters and when we were ready to go, he said $60, we walked away and he followed us swearing and yelling all the way and threatening that he would make our vacation hell. STAY AWAY from him, he is a tall skinny man - do not give him your business. MUSIC: always a spot where you can get live entertainment or even jam with the locals. We will return!!

I thought Room was very good. the room was good enough we were close to the pool, so my son like that. Staff very friendly, safe with security, the beach amazing and ground clean. Breakfast did me ok and lots of close places to eat. I took Jamaican money with me. I always asked the price up front. Would not recommend eating at Woodstock, rip off. Very spacious rooms and good ac. Beds and linens were top notch. Beautiful marble bathrooms and floors. All the staff were friendly and always ready to help with anything. Location, beach and sunsets were 5 star. Our room needed a new door on to the balcony and a working safe. Fridges were an extra charge but they didn't have any available. This resort was excellent for us! The rooms/grounds/pool were super clean. The room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. The beachfront in front of the hotel was the nicest spot on the strip! Breakfast included was ok but you can order full breakfast for $5 US and beer/cocktails on resort are $2 US. This resort was amazing! A real jewel. Quiet and Simple
We stayed at Rooms Negril for 3 days prior to Christmas 2014 and received a fantastic deal considering the time of year (can't complain!!). The room was very simple and all that we needed considering most of our time was spent outdoors however lighting is poor and you have to pay for WiFi. The downside is that breakfast took a long time to be served and there are no instructions of how it works, you have to figure it out for yourself (a sign would be helpful). It's continental style so most of it is bread. There are options to purchase food from a different lunch/dinner menu however we never did. We would go to "Sweet Spot" across the street and order there. The food was delicious and much cheaper than at the resort. We ate there every night ($6 for two of us!!) then bought our beverages and snacks at the store across the street from Sweet Spot (up a bit). The beach was beautiful and the water was clear. Very nice to take a walk, etc. Overall, our stay at the resort was quiet and comfortable. The staff were also nice. We would stay at Rooms again...but in Ocho Rios next time to see that side of the Island.

A 'Very Good' Value Resort
Enjoyed ouselves emmensely for first timers at Rooms Negril. Never having stayed 3 star non all inclusive we werent really sure what to expect - but they really met and or exceeded all aspects of our stay! It is important to remember that this is not a 4-5 star resort and that you must be preapred for all the little hiccups that you may/will encounter along the way. Staff: friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and tidy. Be prepared to wait sometimes for your room to be cleaned and fresh towels. Everything happens in Jamaican time and pace. Beach/Pool towels and lounge chairs: first come, first serve - could wait up to an hour Beach: Beautiful!!! nicely located and near enough to town/mall if needed. WARNING!: depending upon your room location and what night of the week - IT CAN BE VERY NOISY at night (thankfully not every night) from the surrounding bars, music and "wildlife" Also, our safe was not operational and the sliding door lock needed to be and was repaired once we brought it to the staffs attention. Continental Breakfast: was adequate - mostly a variety of breads, muffins and fruits! Substantial enough to get the drinks flowing. We purchased our alcohol and mix from either of the shops right across the street or just down the beach. Local Cuisine: was excellent every where we went. We went to a different place every night for dinner including trying the many Jerk Chicken BBQ's which are everywhere! Average meal price $6-$10. YOU MUST not expect 5 star facilities and service and you wont be disappointed. We loved our stay and will be back again at the same resort in the same room again next year!
