We went on a girls trip, location was great, resort was nice, staff was great, beach was stunning ? our favorite part of the whole trip. Only thing is their was a ton of kids, so for that reason I would not personally book it unless I got a way cheaper price then what I paid to go!!

It was a pretty good hotel. Food was great. The only improvement would be more adult quiet spaces and also more shaded beach chairs. Also, some better evening entertainment options would be nice. Perhaps have a little relief from kids.

Small Resort - no pool for adults. Beach was nice and great service. Some poor operations - alot of small issues that could easily be fixed to improve resort. Buffet was not the best. Very unorganized. Restaurants were good. Some areas or the resort had amazing service and some areas had poor service. Rooms were nice and cleaning staff did a great job. For the price that I paid it was a great value but I wouldn't pay any more.

Rooms are a little dated but very clean and well maintained. Staff and service was excellent! Food was very good and lots of variety. Beach was beautiful and clean, however they could use more beach loungers and umbrellas. The pool is quite small for a resort of this size as well. Great experience overall and good value.

Can’t say enough about how great the staff are. The beach was awesome. The Italian restaurant had a great menu and was delicious. The main pool was disappointing and small. I am a beach bum so it didn't bother me. Rooms were clean.

Great resort, food, room, staff all are great the negative feedback is that this resort is geared towards parents with young kids not our age range and the entertainment was not great and finally they should invest into more beach chairs for the beach the reason for the poor rating for the pool if you want a chair by the pool get up at 5 to put a towel on a chair and the beach no empty chairs neither

Had a great time at this resort. The room was clean and the staff was very courteous. Always greeted us with a smile and were professional in their conduct. They have a good choice of restaurants and the food was amazing. A very family friendly resort. Would highly recommend if you are traveling with kids.

The resort was good, staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Enjoyed most meals, however, do not recommend the New York Steak in any of the restaurants. Entertainment was good. Area was safe and had good police presence.

Wyndham Alltra Cancun was a beautiful resort. The food was some of the best we have had on vacation. Taco bar on the beach was a favorite. Grill by main pool had some of the best chicken wings I've eaten. The burgers at the resort was one of the best burgers I've had in a while. A la cart restaurants were all delicious and no reservations needed. They also have a candy shop which served delicious coconut ice cream. Not to mention they include room service until 11pm at night. Service was amazing and all the staff was friendly and accommodating. The theater for the nightly show isn't the best and honestly from attendance you can tell most people don't know about it. However the shows were decent but better advertising of the theater would be beneficial for them. Not a complaint but the pools are on the smaller size but never felt crowded.

My suite was beautiful and large and extremely clean with a spacious bathroom Staff were wonderful! Food was very good especially the Italian restaurant and service was excellent with waiters very friendly with our baby Pool was too cold unfortunately On the plus side they had a pool playground and playroom for children which was good And an ice cream and candy store:) Beach was lovely nice white sand and not too crowded at this time Mid December

Stayed at the Wyndham Alltra for a week. This hotels location is great. Rooms are spacious we had room 2469 oceanview Beach 5/5 Food 2/5 Service 3/5 Pool 2/5 This hotel needs major renovations. Cleanliness is lacking, we saw a huge cockroach in the buffet restaurant.

We stayed at the Panama Jack Cancun hotel in early February 2020. I was celebrating a milestone birthday and they had decorated the room beautifully and left cake and chocolates. This is a smaller resort than we have been to before but they still had plenty to do through your the day. There are 2 buffet restaurants and 3 sit down restaurant one Italian and a Mexican and a casual healthy restaurant. We didn’t eat at all the restaurants because they don’t take reservations so you either have to wait 8 pm or you have to eat at just before 6pm. I think that they could improve my rating of the hotel by taking reservations. I would have liked to eat more at the restaurants but my kids are generally impatient and liked to options that the buffets offered. The buffet were rotated for an Asian options and then some kids of grill style. I would have liked to see more Mexican tacos available for every meal as I love them and could eat them all the time. My favourite part of the whole resort was the coffee shop which was always stocked with fresh baked goods and cookies and you could get a expresso or latte. My kids loved the chocolate cookies and the iced coffees. The staff at the coffee shop were lovely. We thought Luis at the coffee shop was fabulous. The beach was amazing and it was super fun to play in the waves and boogie board. The kids loved the waterslides and pool. Adults were not allowed on the waterslides which is unfortunate as I like a fun waterslide! My kids 9 and 11 yrs old were not into the kids club and felt it was too babyish for them. They have the hash tag for 13 yr olds and up. I think this would be a great place for kids 10 and up as the teens were not into going to it so the facility is virtually empty. Some of the staff were super rigid about the age of restriction of the kids. We had to asked for special permission from the manager for our kids to use the hashtag and once they had permission my kids would hang out there every day. It’s a beautiful room and it is a shame that it is not being used by the older kids. I believe they need to lower the age limit as the kids club doesn’t appeal to the kids under 8 yrs old. They need something for the tweens. They had some great shows in the evenings at 8 pm. I would highly recommend the fire show on the beach and the forest circus, and the magic show with the dinner. The Latin and Mexican dancing was great too but didn't Interest my tween boys. The lounge bar has some great bands as well. There is no disco at the resort. We really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend it ! Wish I was back there now !!

My family and I, along with friends of ours spent a week at Panama Jack Cancun. The service was top notch. Every single employee was friendly and went above and beyond. We have done a lot of travelling and it did not take long for us to feel right at home. I would like to give a shout out to Enrri who greeted us with a smile and asked how our stay was going every single day. Gabriela at the concierge was also very kind and professional. Here is a quick summary of our thoughts on the resort. Pros: - Fun and energetic animation team. They made our days so much fun and we could not imagine out stay without them. Thank you to Lucy and her team; Tania, Iris, Mario, Jonathan, Raquel, Roger. - Camp Jack. hands down the best kids club we have ever experienced on a resort. Diana and all the girls were so wonderful to our children. -Viaggio ( Italian A La Carte ) Delicious with very professional and fantastic servers. We had dinner there 3 times. Gualberto & Filiberto are both the absolute best. - Buffets were average/ decent - Resort was clean - Beach was beautiful - All the night time shows were great. We enjoyed all of them. Popcorn and drinks are provided before all the shows start which we found to be a nice touch. Cons: -Room was a little tiny and there was nowhere to really store anything aside from the closet. - Housekeeping came late in the afternoon/ early evening which sometimes was around the time we would want to get ready for dinner. - Balcony furniture is dated - No swim up bar on resort - Two pools that are on the smaller side We would to return one day and would highly recommend this resort for families

We just got back from one of our favourite resorts weve ever been too. Panama Jack Cancun is amazing. Great food, very clean, beautiful clean beach, the friendliest, and most accommodating staff i have experienced on a resort. The entertainment and shows were incredible. The entertainment crew was so amazing; Definetly the best. Jonathan (aka mario), Luigi, Tania, Raquel, Iris, Lucy, Roger just to name a few were incredible and went above and beyond to make sure our trip Was so fun and memorable. Also, the kids club; Camp Jack was also amazing. The staff in there were the nicest. My daughters couldnt wait to go back everyday; some days had to “beg” them to leave. All the staff made you feel at home and like family. I could honestly go on and on about this resort. I honestly dont have anything negative to say. I guess the only thing i can think of is the Air in the room was a bit dry. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!! Thank you Panama Jack Cancun and all your staff for the best vacation our family has had. :) we will be back!

We stayed at Panama Jacks in Cancun with our 2 and 4 year old daughters. The resort was fantastic, it was so clean and the pools were warm and had a nice shallow area for the kids. The beach was beautiful with excellent sand and the water was clear blue with no seaweed. Never a problem getting a chair at the beach or pool. The food was fantastic, especially at Viaggio (Italian Restaurant) we ate there 3 times and the food was delicious and the service outstanding. Thank you to Fily, Alberto and Javier. Rueben was great at the Ventana buffet for breakfast and lunch. The resort staff were also friendly and accommodating. Everyone had a smile on their face. We loved the Coffee Bar the latte's were really Starbucks quality. My 4 year old loved the Kids Camp and would go for a couple hours a day to do bracelets, decorate cookies, spa day and other activities. Panama Jacks is conveniently only 25 minutes from the airport. which is nice with Kids. We highly recommend Panama Jacks, it was such a great resort and we had a wonderful family vacation.

Our stay at Panama Jacks in Cancun was fabulous. The staff was friendly and very helpful, the grounds are beautiful and the property itself, inside and out is kept spotless!!! There was a mix up with our room when we arrived, which was late at night, but they took care of the issue as soon as I mentioned it the following morning - making the change nothing more than a slight speed bump. I simply can't say enough nice things about it. We are planning on going back there next January. I really liked that the lobby is the center of pretty much everything, making it easy to enjoy all the services the resort has to offer. Also the hours for the various restaurants was very accommodating, giving us the choice to dine when we wanted. I highly recommend Panama Jacks Cancun!

I loved everything about Panama Jack's Cancun. The grounds,rooms and restaurants were spotless, the staff were incredible and there were so many you never waited for anything. The only thing I would add is a bigger pool. There were a lot of families so lots of kids in pool. There is a kids pool but most used the larger one. Not a big issue, just a thought.

I loved the Panama Jack Resort! It was the best vacation we had so far! Everything was great there, the food, room, beach and the service. We will defiantly try to come back to Panama Jack next year!!!

The hotel was nice but worn down in areas and needs an upgrade. There are too many rooms/peoples to be accommodate in thé common areas, and we were there in low season. The quality of the food is quite variable and food items are recycled from dinner to lunch and breakfast. The drinks are often watered down. The hotel presentation (not mandatory but highly recommended by them) was I appropriate and uses as an opportunity to sell client further vacations

My husband, 3yo and I spent the first week of Sep in this hotel. We had a great time. Fantastic staff and location. Nice beach, and pools are suitable for toddlers. Our room was spacious but there was a mold smell in the air. The shower could be improved and tv could be in HD. Overall was a positive experience.

My husband and I traveled with our 2 boys (age 10 & 7) for 10 days in February 2019. Panama Jack's is approx. a 30 minute drive from the airport. Upon arrival the check in was fairly quick and our room was an ocean view which definitely met our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised that we had 1 king and 1 double bed. The beach is that of gorgeous white sand, a bit of seaweed (not a big deal) - but there is always wind and fairly turbulent waters (undertow). In fact our entire 10 days there it was red flags on the beach, although we still waded out a bit to enjoy the waves. There are 2 pools - the main pool is not huge and this is where most of the action is, so be prepared for loud music and constant activity. The second pool is quite small, it's quieter due to being away from the entertainment crew, but had more younger children around - probably due to the fact that the kids club is right in proximity. There are a couple bigger water slides my boys enjoyed - although my husband was concerned with the speed in which he exited the slides - lol! Lounge chairs can be hard to come by both around the pools and on the beach - but we always seemed to be able to find something eventually - it's just most people seem to place a towel on them to 'reserve' them (boo!). They do offer some classes, such as yoga and Zumba, first thing in the morning (8am) if you like participating in that sort of thing. One of my favourite things was the Panama Jacks Coffee Company in the lobby where we could pop in to grab our specialty coffees all day long, including treats which the kids enjoyed - such as cookies and pastries. There seemed to be lots of eating options. We dined at both the a la carte restaurants - the Italian one was our favourite. They had excellent service and even when having a hard time deciding on our order, they brought us out a sample of the item we didn't order so we could try it! The buffets have different theme nights and there was always decent selection - although some things like guacamole seemed hard to find, and desserts weren't overly impressive. There is a 24 hour snack bar - but nothing special so we didn't use it during our time there except to grab a few tortilla chips one day. The drinks were good, although I found them quite sweet with syrupy mixes - such as daiquiri's or pina colada's. Mojito's were one of my fav's and you can't go wrong with the cerveza's! The evening entertainment didn't blow us away so we didn't make a huge effort to watch it. Seems our boys enjoyed the foosball table so we tended to sway toward that most nights. The only issue we had was a couple times we went back to our room and our door was not completely latched - meaning we just had to push it open without our key card. We soon realized it was the maid service that was not properly closing our door after cleaning. Nothing went missing, it was just a little alarming! All in all, we had a great getaway, enjoyed every minute of escaping winter - but will likely look for another destination/resort for our next trip.

The hotel was very clean. Staff were amazing! Food was terrific. Nightly entertainment was great. Location is great for shopping. I would highly reccomend this resort for anyone looking to have a fantastic vacation and meet a lot of wonderful people!

My fourth time at this resort always have a relaxing time. Whether it’s morning on the beach or afternoon poolside always a relaxing atmosphere...lots of activities to take part in but no pressure from staff to participate... they always asked me if I wanted to participate which is awesome customer service! My room with a view was outstanding gran suite 6 floor... rooms attended to on a daily basis and a courtesy phone call in the evening to make sure everything was ok, . Definitely will continue to travel to Panama Jack

Beach and rooms were great, but the pool being in the Center of everything was loud. This felt like a party resort mixed with families. Food was decent, staff was awesome, just not what I was looking for.

The resort is clean and fairly easy to get around. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a really nice room down by the beach with a slight view of the ocean. It was a good size, clean and the location was very central to all amenities. The Mexican Restaurant has excellent food and for the buffet Ventanna is very good. The Italian Restaurant wasn't such a good experience. Very slow and not the best food. There wasn't much for night life. There were only a couple of performances during our 9 night stay and they were pretty good, but for the most part everything ended by 10:30. A disco, or a place to dance would be nice. The wind was very strong there and swimming in the ocean wasn't really possible. The waves were very strong and high, so for the most part you could fight to go in the water and deal with the waves for a short time, but you wouldn't want to stay in too long. There were activities at the pool regularly, like water polo, water volleyball and aqua aerobics...

This was our very first time at an all-inclusive resort. I spent 3 months on Tripcentral, daily looking at hotels and prices in Cancun and this hotel ended up being the one of choice. I went with my wife and 2 year old daughter and was with Sunwing. Right from the very start, Tripcentral emailed me to outline the details, provide information and our booking confirmation. When getting to the Cancun airport, I met with the Sunwing rep and was taken to the hotel, no problems or confusion as to what I was supposed to do. Everyone at the hotel was incredibly friendly and treated all of us like royalty. They make a genuine effort to talk to you and ask you if there is anything they can do to assist. You are always greeted with a smile as well. I found their capacity to work very hard while being really happy not only comforting, but also inspiring. The resort was recently updated and I believe ownership changed hands, as it was called Rio Gran Caribe, but now Panama Jack Gran Caribe. The rooms were big and very clean (my wife is Japanese and is very picky about this and she was blown away). We had a partial view of the ocean. The pools were very clean, the beach was beautiful, the food was excellent. They have 2 different buffets, with the food being excellent, but if that doesn't float your boat, you can go in the A la carte restaurants instead. They do not require much in the way of a dress code, just don't wear swimsuits and make sure to wear shirts with sleeves and you are okay. ***If you go to their Mexican restaurant, Casa De Rosa, make sure to order the Mayan coffee!!! It is the most amazing "show" I have ever seen. The server heats up the cups, transfers the alcohol, pours it through a peeled grapefruit, adds coffee. It is hard to explain but was very neat*** No tip is required but the amount of work that he does, I had no problem giving 50 pesos, well worth it. There are different shows every night, Mariachi bands, opera singers, dancers, etc. I was there during the Superbowl and they had huge screens outside near the pool and had surround sound speakers going, it was great. I have to give a special appreciation to Max at Deck 74 for remembering my daughters name and asking how she was doing each time we went there. He was great, as were all the staff. This hotel is in the perfect area of the hotel zone, but along the entire zone, if the beach faces East, it will be a little wavy. 95% of hotels have beaches facing east. We just hopped on a local bus for 12 pesos per person and spent 5 minutes riding up the the top part of the hotel zone and went to a calm, more local, kid friendly beach with no waves so this was never an issue. My first time in Cancun was amazing and we will definitely be back at some point. When we do, we will come back to this place. It was amazing.

Our family had a great time celebrating my nephews wedding at the resort and enjoy the warm sunshine on the beach. There were a few hiccup with the wedding venue that I believe got worked out. In the end we all had fun . My suggestion would be to have more entertainment at night ( dance club) and also food served at the beach. Not everyone wants to be at the pool area. With all the new Reno I'm am sure in time it will be a great resort to visit again.

Very clean, great food and we felt very safe. Renovation are very nice and the beach is spectacular. Guest rooms are spacious and clean. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful. Order the special coffee in the Italian restaurant

It's not a fancy resort - doesn't look like a 4.5/5 star when comparing to a resort on the maya riviera side but has everything you need and the service was very friendly. Any issue, they always tried to solve it right away and with a smile! Food was great and great waterpark/area for kids - best I've seen so far. We enjoyed our time!

Resort was very clean, pools well looked after, a la carte restaurants good. Entertainment somewhat lacking, as it mostly takes place in the lobby bar. Staff overall very accommodating. Beach is great, water has huge waves, consequently red flag days, but always a section with yellow flags.

I stayed at the Gran Caribe the last week of January 2017, what a wonderful resort. The food is absolutely fantastic, the resort is clean and the staff friendly. This was my second time at this resort and loved it even more the second time around. We upgraded once we got there and stayed on the 6th floor with a view of the lagoon, the room was clean and spacious. The beach was also beautiful.

Always long chairs available at the beach. No complications with reservations/line-ups to eat at the a la carte restaurants. No wait to get served at the bars. Rooms are big, clean and beautiful! Service is great. Checking-in was easy and fast.

everything was very good .clean beach, food was good, service was very good, entertainment was ok, hotel in general was very clean, arrangements for tours was good, a little more English would have been better.

Not too big, but has everything you need in a nutshell. Food was excellent, beaches were perfect, staff was very accommodating. Has fine Italian and Mexican dining, to well stocked buffets, to beachside hamburg and hot dog stands with all the trimmings. You can find souvenir trinkets, beachwear in a little boutique, a good variety of sterling silver jewelry and/or high end gold with precious stones. The staff is just too eager to help you ( in a good way)! It was a real pleasure to be there!

Had a really nice time at the Gran Caribe. Facilities were clean and well maintained, beach was beautiful and there was lots to do nearby. Service and food on site was also top notch. Very satisfied overall!

Very much enjoyed our 10 day stay at Gran Caribe. Stayed in an ocean front room which was fantastic with beautiful full view of the sun rising. Food and drinks were excellent as was the service! Could improve on the check in speed...seems a bit tedious. The central location makes it easy either walk or hop on the bus to do some shopping.

The food was excellent, the staff were super nice and our room was great. We never had to wait to eat and if we asked for something not visible at the buffet, they went and got it for us. The pool-side and beach service was fast and frequent. The check in was a slow process but the checkout went much faster. The buses were frequent and cheap to go shopping. I would not hesitate to go back. Had a great time in the ocean jumping the waves.

This resort was more of a 3/4*. Hotel was ~ 30 minute drive from the airport. Clean resort, excellent pool & beach service but not enough chairs at either. Lounge was very noisy but decent entertainment & good service (Norma). Found that buffet food was better than a la carte restaurants (service very slow but we had 11 people in our group). Mongolian grill is delicious (highly recommend). Rooms are habitable, anything facing the main road is noisy, need to sound proof the balcony doors. 24 hour snack bar was great for the late night munchies! Wifi is great throughout the resort, sometimes even on to the beach. Beach was very clean and soft, waves were quite rough most days, no snorkeling but you could body surf. Overall we enjoyed our stay, not sure if we'd go back, especially for the price we paid.

it has a very limited options, they cook the same food and you don't really have much options. the rooms are good, but lucks house keeping. You will cover most of the activities in the resort within a day and you wont't have much to do. they have a booth in two places, but don't have a place to sit a listen a song, no clube at all, you have to pay to go downtown and pay extra 65-85 dollar per day for club and 20-30$ for transportation each day you go out

Great amenities, amazing hospitality, beautiful beach and quality food and and drink. Would go back tomorrow!!! All you could want in a vacation. Rooms are also well appointed and very comfortable. Liked that everything in the hotel was easily accessible.

This hotel is amazing allover like rooms, resturants, lobby ,the staff . Me and husband stayed there 7 days in first week of feburary . We enjoyed our stay . So i will recommend to my family and friends and we will go there again.

The resort was awesome, the restaurants were great, we loved the outdoor grill restaurant the best. Our family of 5 spent a week there, our kids were ages 4, 7, and 8 and they had a blast. The family pool is away from the main pool, their is an awesome pirate ship and waterslide which the kids loved. The Beach was beautiful, the rooms were nice and clean, I can not say anything bad about this resort

We visited the Gran Caribe Real in March 2014, it was amazing!! Right from the first day I could see that this was going to be an awesome trip. The place was beautiful, and the staff were all so amazing. We got a beachfront walkout room, and I have to say this was the closest to the beach of any place that we've ever stayed, literally on the beach. It was amazing, I don't think either of us ever spent so much time at the beach on any trip before this. The rooms was gorgeous, full bar in the room, spacious, and room service was always prompt and extra courteous. The restaurants were all neat and tidy, and great food. The spa experience was perfect, Maria and Letti were our regulars, and gave the most amzing massage ever. Our room category also included access to the Hyatt Zilara next door, this place was so beautiful. The facilities there were a bit more high end I must say. The food at the buffet restuarant there was delicious, and the service was top shelf. I wish I could remember the guys name that made my girlfriend the specialty coffe, it was a show in itself watch him pour the flaming liquor, truly a sight to see. The gym there was very nice, lots of equipment, and nice and cool to workout. Needless to say, this has become our favorite amongst all the places we've been to date. Ever since we've been home we constantly talk about our next trip back there, and have already started planning it now. I hate to wish time away, but we are anxious to get back to this beautiful property again!! Stephanie from Trip Central, you done us right again :)

Very kid friendly with many activities to do. Were impressed with food & service except for one occasion at the Italian restaurant, (they were really busy and think they were overwhelmed, the service was very slow... but it could have been just that day) every where else to eat at the hotel..(the buffets and Mexican restaurant) where great, in fact we travelled quite a bit and it was the best food at an all inclusive hotel we've had. We had fun and would go back again.

Great, friendly staff, clean rooms, nice pool, good food. Would stay there again. Short distance from downtown. Close to local shops, clubs, and activities. Awesome beach. And amazing shows put on each night.
