We made the best our our week at Grand Sirenis. This resort should definitely not be rated high. The food was not the best. There was no consideration for dietary needs. My friend got food poisoning for two days. We found the pools to be very dirty and the majority of the pool is fairly deep. One day the shallow pool had throw up in it. The employees are wonderful, especially Ana at the buffet and Anthony at the front bar. They do have shows in the evening, however everything pretty much shuts down by 11:00. It would be nice to be able to dance or have a bit of night life. The resort is huge so if you have mobility issues, I would avoid this one.

This was the biggest resort i have ever been to, saying that i guess i just expected more from it. The seaweed was rolling in and they did not clean the beach only the small area in front of the executive section. Other resorts along this stretch had tractors that cleaned the beaches. There was a ton of cigarette butts in the sand as well. I didnt like the tour operators were at the pool the entire time trying to sell excursions (dont hassel me while im on vacation) we did some a la cart reservations was not a fan of the italian my pasta was like eating a soup it was all sauce i had to search for my pasta. We saved the steak place for last and was extremely dissapointed. And hour and a half wait (people were leaving ) for our food to arrive, and again was not very good. The game galaxy was closed the entire time. Be warned if you check in before 3pm they charge you a $40 fee for early check-in , that only gives you the bracelet so that you are allowed into the resort. If you refuse to pay the $40 usd you are told that you can wait outside the resort.

Grand Sirenis is an absolutely beautiful resort. Everywhere you look, it is picture perfect. There are very tall palm trees and beautiful flowers everywhere. It is very spacious and the kids never got bored. Anywhere you go, no matter the time of day, you can find chairs! There are many bars all around the resort and always food available. Food was good but not a ton of variety. I changed rooms 3 times. Many many problems with my rooms including a wasp nest making it impossible to get in and out of my room. Also, they fed me sunflower seeds (I am allergic) in the Italian restaurant resulting in a visit by the doctor. They even asked my allergies and fed it to me anyways. I asked many many times over several days to have towels, a mattress for the pull out, to fix my fridge and safe. I didnt even bother with the broken hair dryer. The girl on the phone to the lobby would just hang up on me, it was unreal. Finally stuff got done when I left a note for the maid in Spanish and a big tip. Although there were lots of problems, I would actually still recommend the resort! It was a very relaxing vibe and the scenery was the most stunning I have seen, and I have been to many places! No one in our group got sick minus the allergy mishap, but we did use sanitizer before every meal. The kids had the best time. I would return here (knowing to go right to the manager for problems and be pushy about solutions). If you are easy going and things roll off your shoulder, you'll have a good time. If the little things bother you and you want a perfect room, maybe not the best for you!

Nice hotel, stuff as well. Only small thing which I mark as “bad” is that when we asked for additional pillow, bed skirt etc it took more than 5 hrs and 4-5 reception reminding to do. Overall nice hotel.

Staying at the Grand Sirenis Punta Cana was a wonderful experience. The resort was beautiful, the beaches were the best we have ever been to, the grounds were immaculate, our room was comfortable, clean and always cared well for.

The hotel was ok the rooms were crowded and there were ants. The beach was not clean at all the see weed was in mountains definitely not maintained and the hotel did not even try. The beach was terrible if you are looking for a resort with a pool and beach this is not it. The pool area was large but since the beach was not enjoyable everybody was at the pool area which made it crowed and the water dirty. The slide area for kids was not well maintained and most of the slides caused bruising or scrapes when trying to go down the kids only used the area twice out of 7 days.

This resort was excellent. I would highly recommend it. The staff was friendly and the grounds were clean and well maintained. The food was top notch, lots of variety. There was lots of entertainment. My only complaint is the plumbing system needs to be fixed. We were instructed by our travel rep on our first day not to flush our toilet paper. We were told to wrap and put in the garbage can and then flush for fear of a backup problem due to the plumbing system not being adequate That should never be a problem if a hotel is rated 5 stars.

The beach is beautiful, the rooms were nice, clean and stocked with water and sodas. Food was good, nice selection. We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was polite and great, they work hard, sometime had to wait but they are busy and 8 was happy to wait a few minutes.

Pretty much a 10/10. Easy to book restaurants which were mostly great. Rooms were suitable for a small family. Pool was nice, beach was nice, and waterpark was great. Service was good. Lots of places for food. No complaints.

The food was not great and it was a walk to get to anything. I didn’t appreciate them trying to sell their timeshare service. Booking restaurants through concierge is unnecessary they can only book a couple at a time. I would rather wait in line or book through an online app like other resorts. The best part was Heidy at the swim up bar. She was their best staff member. Also never any silverware or glasses at meals. Staff take forever to get you things at the Buffett.

This hotel was really nice. Our first room had a strong smell of humidity, we ask for a new room the next day and we received one but with smaller beds. Lots of activities happening and the a la carte restaurant were really good. The buffet was o.k, lots of choices but mostly the same every day. I would recommend this hotel for family, because my kids had an awesome time!

I was skeptical after reading poor reviews but it exceeded my expectations. Gorgeous beach, nice room, delicious dinners, beautiful weather. Lots to do! Overall cleanliness could be improved but I constantly saw people painting and making improvements to the property. Would stay again.

I love everything about the resorts:) Friendly employees and very accommodating. My fridge is always stocked up and my room is always clean:). My only comment is the water park for the kids are a little dirty other than that this place has a lot to offer! definitely will come back again soon.

I was disappointed in this resort. The room was not clean, sheets were stained, the food was not the best and we found a huge cockroach in our room. This resort definitely needs more English speaking employees as we found it difficult to communicate. The website indicates a 4.5 star rating but would only give it 2.5.

The hotel was very good. Nice rooms, nice pools , great beach. The food at the buffet was very good, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Always a good variety available. The a la cartes were generally good. Steak, Japanese were our favourite. Italian and Brazilian were fairly good. Only one we didn’t like was Mediterranean. We enjoyed our morning coffee at the coffee house and generally very pleased with the service of the staff. Do not believe the negative reviews we could definitely go back.

This is our 4th time returning to this resort. First of all, you are going to find mixed reviews about every resort you look at, so take each with a grain of salt. The workers at the resort will go out of their way to make sure you have an amazing stay! Shout out to Rosa for her wonderful service, as well as Karla, Maria, and Pedro R. Those people had made our trip memorable! Just returned from here only a few days ago and we are already looking to book our 5th trip to the resort. We have recommended this to our friends and family who have also been to the resort who now say they "have found their resort!" So many little things to go here that you will never be bored. The layout is great as it allows folks to be spread out and not be falling over each other.

Beach : Great! Food: Mediocre - husband got salmonella! Service : Good at the A la carte restaurants, otherwise poor. Room : Family suite was great (size wise) but moldy smell and old (for example the headboard was moldy and extremely dirty). Waterpark : half of it was closed down for repairs Overall good value for what we paid for I guess… but I wouldn’t recommend it!

We chose this resort after visiting its Mexico sister property a few years back. This one was a disappointment by comparison. Go to the Maya Rivera instead! The highlights; great beach, nice pool, lots of chairs. The lowlights: food was terrible with very little food safety protocols, the property is aging, family suite rooms are very small and not great for a family, and there are a lot of families and a lot (a lot of kids) there. Overall, if you can get this for a good deal and don’t care about decent food, then it’s fine. If you are looking for something a bit more vacation-y, then keep looking.

Friendly Staff, Very nice room and the food was fantastic. Would return here for another vacation. Have been to the Dominican Approx 20 times and this hotel had the best food I have had on the island.

Rooms were clean and spacious, we stayed in a family suit with one teenager. Check in and out were smooth and easy. Food was like Cuba, I’m not super picky but not much flavour or different variety of foods. Same things are both buffets everyday. No vegetables only two fruit options. I lived off pasta and hamburgers. The pasta made infront of you at the buffet was the only things hot and staff wasn’t friendly. Burgers at the beach snack bar were ok if you got a cooked one. Water park was the best day, no waiting in lines, it was clean. The snack bar at the water park was better than the buffet. Italian restaurant was amazing, and service was beyond quick for two people. Japanese restaurant was amazing, sushi was fresh. The drinks were ok, if you found a drink you like stick with it. I tried different cocktails and most were not good. Pool bar being the only shallow area of the pool was busy with kids and adults because nobody could stand or hangout anywhere else. Beach was clean, ocean was clean. Lots of chairs just minimal shade which everyone knows travelling to tropical places.

We stayed here at the beginning of February and the resort was lovely! We got a family suite which was in great shape. Room was cleaned every day, fridge restocked. The grounds were well kept and all common areas and bathrooms were always being cleaned/cared for. The buffets always had lots of food with many options. The quality of the food was fantastic as well. A la cartes were great, you can book themselves yourself from their website, have as many as you want. The pool was very clean and beach was gorgeous and no seaweed at all. Staff was pleasant and friendly in all areas. Water park was very fun, no lines at all. My son did get a couple scratches in his back from the slides but nothing too bad. The bar at the water park only serves beer, FYI, so bring a mixed drink if that’s what you’re into. I normally get attacked by bugs when we are away but only got a few bites all week, and didn’t have bug spray on. Only con I can think of is that it can take a while to get served at the bars. The beach bar was very slow, they need some extra staff out there. All in all, this resort is a great value for the price, very family friendly place!!!

We don’t travel a lot so keep that in mind. The resort grounds were lovely. The customer service and cleanliness could use improvement. The water park entertained the kids but would not be up to Canadian safety standards. Tuck in your elbows or bring a load of bandaids. The slides are like sandpaper. If you require help in your room, be prepared to call many times. Our credit card was also stolen and used. The beach was lovely, although quite a few cigarette butts in the sand. The kids loved the waves. It felt safe in the water and we saw a school of beautiful fish. A la carte restaurants were tasty and you could book as many as you want. We avoided the high pressure sale presentation for time share as we were warned in advance. They’ll call repeatedly asking how your stay is and how they can make it better. They won’t take action on your requests and only attempt to lure you to the sales meeting. Would I go back? No, but my kids loved it, great family time was had and we didn’t break the bank.

Grand Sirenis is a clean pleasant resort with with an abundance of friendly staff. The rooms are clean and a good size but slightly dated. Food at the buffets had plenty of choices and specialty restaurants were tasty! Pools and beaches were clean easily accessible. If I ever go back to DR, it's possible I'd choose Grand Sirenis again!

The resort was great for kids, lots of activities and the water park was fun for them The resort is typical resort food, we did enjoy the Japanese restaurant and the steak house. We did not try any other restaurants The pool was great for the kids 9 and 6, they were able to play ball and swim in the waist high pool

The rooms were really nice and the lady who cleaned our room was wonderful! They were very humid and smelled musty. I would be freezing because the air and fans were on but if they were turned down or off it was humid. I did like that in the family suite they had a divider. The grounds were beautiful but there were a lot of garbage in and around the bushes. Most of the employees were great there were a few that were not so great. The man who checked us into the resort was awful. Made us wait for an hour to see about putting us and another family in the same villa and completely disregarded the fact I needed a ground floor and to be close to the lobby because of my disability. Instead put us in the farthest one possible. When other staff seen me struggling to walk to the villa, they immediately changed our room and were very much accommodating. I did not like that they do not have golf carts that came around to assist people if they wanted to go to the beach or lobby. The resort is massive and they only have golf carts to shuttle the VIP people around. If you have an issue walking DO NOT book this hotel. I had to rent a scooter because it was such a big place. They only have a golf cart to the water park but don’t be in a hurry they are on island time. Compared to Cuba (which is where I gone a few times) this is unacceptable. In Cuba they had golf carts coming around every 10-15 minutes asking people if they wanted a ride. I also did not enjoy the buffet. The morning omelette station was good. Other than that it was awful. I think there was one good night we ate there because we missed our reservation due to an excursion. Oh, the a la carts were horrible. Worst than the buffet. We had the Brazilian, mediterranean and the French. We waited 1.5 hours for our food at the Mediterranean and it was awful. I didn’t even eat it. We missed the Japanese(which is suppose to be the best) and opted not to go to the steak house since our friend was extremely sick off the food at the French restaurant. I’m not a picky eater. I have been to Cuba 3x and had better food (if you can believe it) at least in Cuba the meals that they served were hot.the food at the buffet was cold. Cold nacho cheese for the nachos and broccoli. Most of the meat was cold. The only had a variety of cakes for dessert and ice cream. The coffee shop/donut/gelato place located outside of the plaza was amazing. Most of the games in the arcade were not in use but the staff there were wonderful! Assisted the kids with everything and were very friendly. The entertainment was ok. The Micheal Jackson show was the best. All the kids entertainment was very late. The lady that did the kid shows was great. I feel as though it should have been put on earlier. The app for all the things to do in the resort was useless. The beach was lovely. Amazing burgers on the beach BBQ and the buffet at the beach/pool was better than the one in the lobby. The water park was really fun the kids had a great time. Even my husband liked it. Although the slides are rough and they came out with bruises, they still enjoyed it. It was very clean and never busy so we could go down as much as we wanted. The lobby store and the store at the water park was VERY expensive. It is $39US for a bottle of sunscreen. Take a walk along the beach and go to the Dominican Walmart. I struggle a lot with walking but I’m so glad I went. The guys there are so nice and helpful and sunscreen there was $10! We did the pirate ship excursion. It was really good. The kids really enjoyed it and they were able to swim with the shark and some stingrays. They were also able to pay extra for the dolphin. The trip there was 45 minutes and the trip back over an hour so don’t believe them when they say it’s close. lol Mad Dog was the one who booked this excursion. He was great. Very friendly and gave us a great deal on it. Overall I would rate this hotel a 3star. I wasn’t overly impressed with it. It was nice to get away but next time we do it will not be here.

The room we stayed at would need more cleaning and air conditioning didn't do anything. It is supposed to be renovated but looks like it has to be renovated again. The food is the same as any other Bavaro resort and I'm sure they all get the same suppliers. The service was really good. The beach isn't the white sands of Bavaro but still good.

We went to 3 Grand Sirenis resort this year. Cuba, Mexico and Punta Cana. This was by far the worst resort we have been in the past 20 years. Everything from rooms, lobby to pool to restaurants. Rooms were dirty even with tips every day. There was a water leak and took very long time for someone to come fix. When asked if we could switch rooms it wasn't an option, used towels everyday cause it stilp leaked. The service is extremely poor and rude for most. Often the staff don't greet, always look unhappy, makes it unapproachable for others. Mostly the front lobby bar is the worst. Most times were served old beer. Pool bar is slow service cannot keep up with the demand. They serve adults and ignore the teens and younger children when wanting to order non alcoholic drinks. Not a family friendly resort. Waterpark is not well maintained, most people, adults and kids complained about getting cuts or scrapes going down the slides. Lack of entertainment. A la carts is ok and buffet is same everyday. One night at one of their restaurants we were first in line (group of 10 with young children) told to wait so they can clean up the tables to accommodate out large group which was fine but the next two groups were also a group of 10 and 6 were seated before us. The staff gathered to put other tables to accommodate those two groups first while still leaving the non clean table unattended that was meant for us. When mentioned they said we still have to wait till they come to clean it to sit us at it. On top of that we waited for over 2 hours for our food, when asked why it was taking too long they replied due to the other large groups orders. While others were ordering their drinks, we ordered food first instead knowing our kids were hungry. The kids hamburgers, hot dog and pizza were last brought out last by then kids were sleeping. All the time waited the orders were even wrong. Next restaurant was served molded bun and tried to tell us it was a vegetable bun and compared it to the poppy seed bun which look nothing like the green fuzzy mold on the bun. They picked it off and asked if we still wanted it or get a new one. That was ridiculous. Our kids were traumatized by it and didn't want to eat anything with buns, often afraid something is wrong with the food being served. There's a time frame when buffets are closed so two snack bars and a takeout pizza place are open but most of the time they were also closed leaving people hungry and upset. If you didn't pack snacks, you'd starve till dinner is open. I would definitely not recommend this resort to anyone.

Pros The staff work hard at keeping the resort clean. The bar tenders try to move quickly. Entertainment team are the same crew from day time activities to nightly shows, and remain energetic. Beach was clean. Stephanie the wedding planner is amazing and will meet your expectations. Cons The mini bar in the room was only stocked twice in a week. The waiters are slow at taking drink orders in restaurants (food will be over half eaten before receiving one). Some the workers at the photo services in resort are rude. The pool table and basketball court are unusable.

Nice hotel, nestled in a private area, well layed out with a beautiful landscape and grounds were well kept. Wonderful beach. Our room was nice and spacious. The public area seems lack of ventilation as it was muggy. The food was not the greatest but was ok. A la carte service was no better and the food was cold. Most of the Staff were very friendly.

We just came back from a weeks stay with 2 teenagers. We really enjoyed ourselves. Beach was gorgeous after a couple of days due to the time of year. Staff were great and attentive. Food was always accessible and there was a lot of variety at the buffet. We didn’t do the a la carts. We didn’t really use the water park but the girls enjoyed one morning there. The grounds were clean and pretty. We enjoyed a couple of night time shows. We would return.

It is a good hotel, family oriented, we liked our stay very much, but there were small things that could be changed to make the resort amazing. First of all, the front desk was not always helpfull, i asked for a room on the first floor, with a bathtub and a crib for the baby, and i spoke spanish (i found that their english knowledge for most of employees was very poor), and the person at the front desk just said ok. When we went to the room, it was at the 3rd floor, with shower and the bedroom had 2 double beds, which i did not even request and he did not even ask me. So without unpacking, we went back, and asked for another one, this time the front desk did a wonderful job, to bad i did not retain his name to write a BIG thank you! He gave us a great room: first floor, near the beach, king bed in the bedroom, bathtub in the bathroom. Then, we had to call several times and go in person just to fix tv problems and crib which was brought to our room at 10 PM when we were sleeping, they just opened the door and pushed it in, when we did not answer the door. Second, the waterpark, the water was not cleaned, especially in the kids pool, our baby had the hand feet and mouth disease, which ruined our wonderful vacation routine for 2 days; pretty sure from the water she drank in the pool. The rest was good, food, resort pools, activities, bars, kids club.etc. I would come back, but at least if changes in the 2 mentioned areas will be done. And I would recommend it to families and friends, but advise them of the issues, so they could decide by themselves. The overall rating would be 3.5 stars.

Ok resort beautiful grounds ok food service 3/10 not much entertainment I wouldn't go back or reccomend. Beach was beautiful. The al la carts were not that good on Japanese. Drinks ok weather amazing.

Beautiful grounds, mostly friendly staff. Fun activities with entertainment staff during the day and great shows at night. Food was good especially at a la carte restaurants which were very easy to book. Rooms could use a bit of tlc but we weren't bothered by it too much. This is definitely not a luxury resort but was great for what we were looking for. Had an amazing,memorable vacation.

We were a group of 21 people . Reservations in the restaurants were done always requested tables for all of us. Italian restaurant was not flexible with our accommodations even that we had a birthday to be celebrated . Overall service at the main loby bar was awful from the point of you didnt want to order any drink because of attitude of ladies working there. Not all of them were unpleasant ,certain ladies had a marvellous smile on their faces . There are still efforts to be made on teaching or finding englishspoken people working there for better communication with tourists . After all it was a pleasurable vacation for all of us because we had to adapt with whatever was offered to us.

There's much to like about Grand Sirenis. The grounds are well maintained and quite beautiful. The beach is awesome, with lots of reef to explore and swim in. The pool area is great. Our family suite room setup was well laid out. The wifi is great throughout the resort. There is ample access to food (even if that food is not always the greatest). However, our stay was marred by a few key areas: 1) Our check-in was miserable. We arrived around 30 minutes before rooms were to be ready (no problem!) so we walked around the grounds a little bit and then came back. We then waited in line for 30 minutes more because several large groups had arrived and there was insufficient staffing to help us. The very friendly lady at the check-in called housekeeping to check about our room and eventually we got our room. The room itself is nice! The AC and fans worked well. But our beds were NOT made up. I had no indication whether they had just not finished, or whether they were from previous guests, so we did not use them. It took us over 6 (SIX) hours and several phone calls and front desk visits before they finally made up our room. We had been up since 4am and it was now 9:45pm and we were exhausted and miserable. Not a good start. 2) Connected to the above, housekeeping did not stay on top of replenishing our water and towels. It was hit or miss whether we would even get water. The towels we can manage, but water? Not so much. It just seems like they were not well-equipped for everyone. 3) The food is ample, but some of the prepared dishes were not great. The A La Carte restaurants were...fine. It felt like they did a sub-par job of approximating that style of food. Sometimes they just made odd choices. Canned tuna in sushi?! In the "Route 66" American-style restaurant, their onion rings were quite good, but came with a flavourless and liquidy "sauce" - I think they meant to make an aioli or something? It was weird. 4) Lastly, the waterpark is in desperate need of a makeover. The staff were often borderline sleeping on the job and some of the slides were closed, and others seemed honestly a bit unsafe. The paint on some of them is chipping off. The stairs to the slides seem a little unsteady. Truly we still had a great week away, even in spite of these issues. It was our daughter's first big trip and she had a blast and does not really care about or notice these things. But I'm not sure I'd go again.

Our stay at this hotel was honestly not the best. On our first night they had given us 2 double beds and instead of the king we had requested. We finally got our room at 1am. We found a cockroach in our room as well in the washroom of the hotel by the pool bar. They had not soaps the first day. Although the resort is kid friendly they do not allow kids to play recreation activities. such as beach volleyball or water volleyball as they said it was a risk to play with adults. My daughter is 12. 5”4 and plays rep volleyball. There were many complaints about this as this is the reason we chose this resort. Another downside to this resort is the pressure to biting the VIP package. They will call you and if you don’t answer will show up at your door trying to get u to come to breakfast to discuss the pro large with VIP I will say the beach, pool and al a cart restaurants were wonderful.

Waterpark area for kids is far from rooms. Three small areas for little kids a shallow pool great for bigger kids and slides. One main pool and only a small area for kids. The rest of the pool is 6ft -7 deep. The family suite is not exactly a suite, very small but beds and pull out bed were at least comfortable. Overall resort was ok but will choose a resort with anything near main area so kids have something to do other than be in the water and sun. Lastly had a medical emergency with my toddler and the doctor was great. Went out by ambulance. Resort is 45 minute from the hospital.

The grounds were kept in great shape. The hotel staff very pleasant and felt safe during my stay. The food was quite good. I was nervous around reviews of certain rooms but made myself quite clear upon arrival that I expected a decent room and did. Lack of lounge chairs problematic. As a smoker couldn't stand you were only allowed to sit in a very small area in lobby. I would t recommend this resort for those that want quiet. Way too many children. However fantastic place for those that do. Attention needs to be placed on some of the activities for safety reasons. Covid rules non existent which is the norm for now.

For most of the trip, it was great! Huge shout out to our waitress during breakfast and lunch, Rosa Maria! She made us feel welcome and at home! The sun was shining for the full 7 days! Not a drop of rain to be seen! Couldn't have asked for better weather! The food at the resort is also very good, especially the pizza that they offer each day (but could do with some fine tuning as it can be a bit of a mess with ordering. Sometimes the guests would call out each others orders to ensure folks got their pizza). Our room during our stay had a bum AC. They did sent someone quickly to fix it, however did not really work well the entire stay. Maids were very courteous when cleaning our room if we were around. Especially on the last day when we had the DND sign on the door, the maid service called to see if we had wanted them to come clean or drop towels off. I thought that was a nice touch. Stay away from the elevator in building 39. My sister and I were stuck in there and no one came, even though the emergency alarm was sounding. Imagine being trapped with someone who is claustrophobic and has panic attacks, in a 3X3 box that smelled like hundreds of folks excrements as the septic was literally outside the building ….. You can paint your own picture there. I did open the door enough to see we were between floors, and then it did start to lower slowly to the next floor. Again I had to pry the door open as it would not open with the button. This elevator incident was reported to the front desk and to our concierge, no one seemed to care. So people, take the stairs!! Even was "invited" to the VIP breakfast that was better if I brought logo's like MC, Visa, AMEX. Oh, and don't forget ID's. Really?! You just found out that we were stuck in the elevator and you push the VIP breakfast and dangle a free trip in front of our faces. He did however offer us (the ladies) a 35 minute spa that he never followed through on. Kind of disappointed of the fact that we have been to this resort several times, loyalty means nothing :(

Easily 80% of the resort got sick--vomitting and diarhhea. The resort tried to blame it on the "canadians who brought it down" but people were sick the week before march break. Don't know if it was food prep or storage or the water or ice but some think it came from the buffet, some got sick after eating in restaurants. But it was bad. Eveyrone you spoke to had whole parties out for 1-2 days. Aside from that, don't get the family suite with the king bed unless you have little children. Our two teenagers couldn't sleep on the pull out because the mattress was so thin the frame of the sofa was digging into their back. We got moved to another room with two doubles the second night but it was by the delivery road. Not great they had a bed to sleep in even though my husband and I were crowded. The hotel offered to move us closer to the beach so we thought, "why not"? But they they lost our luggage and brought someone else's to our room. It took several trips to the front desk before they found it. Frustrating because the switchborad doens't speak English and only select front desk staff speak English. We also found that hardly any servers spoke English and at one point we had to have 4 different people come to the table before someone could answer a simple question. With about 98% of the resort being English speaking guests the hotel should endeavour to teach their staff some of the basics of English. The website info was misleading because some of the activities and events were only for Ultimate Club members, which there seemed to be a big push to join. If you weren't an Ultimate Club member you could do the daily activities but things like the evening beach party were for specific people only. The nightly shows were ok. Same entertainers so it got a big boring after a couple nights. Because of the #of families with young kids the disco was empty and the entertainment in the plaza was poorly attended. The meals were mediocre except for the Japanese restaurant, which was amazing. The Jambalya on beach was also very good. The buffet was extensive but be prepared for kids running all over the place grabbing at everything. Breakfast buffet was good. If you want to get a beach/pool chair plan to be down by 6:30 to claim your spot, especially if you want shade. By 7 or 7:30 everything is gone. People turn in their towels for new ones, take the new ones to their rooms, and go down early to claim a spot. Have never had to do that before and it was crazy. Only our first room had robes and slippers. We never saw them in the other two rooms. The stocked bar is actually a stocked fridge with pop and water and it was hard to get water refills. The bathroom fans in all 3 rooms didn't work and two out of the three rooms had burnt out bulbs, which again, took several calls to the front desk to get replaced. The beach was nice and you could walk for miles. The line up at the beach bar is really long and they were inefficient. The pool bar had faster service and the fresh/healthy bar was really good for non-alcoholic. We heard from people at other hotels that no one got sick so I would say if you have your heart set on this area, choose another hotel. Also, be aware that this is the sunrise side of the island, not the sunset. And the waves were very high and strong so no resort had any water activities going. We did a catamaran tour for snorkelling and a sand bar but it wasn't great and there wasn't much to see. The coral reef was a let down and the sand bar wasn't the one we had friends go to but ours was more just shallow water off the shore. All in all that was a let down and was very unorganized and what should have been 4 hours took up our whole day. That was organized through our westjet rep. I wouldn't go back to this resort and wouldn't recommend it so if you decide to go you take your chances.

The resort itself is beautiful, a nice setting but unfortunately quite neglected. The check in was horrible. I had paid for a family suite and they wanted to downgrade me. Then they ask were we wanted to stay and then gave us the complete opposite. The room was not prepared properly. we called and went to the front desk 3 times. WE finally got sheets for the children but no mattress. They offered to change the rooms but then decided there was nothing available. There was a constant high pitch sound from the thermostat. The bathroom ceiling was leaking. They just came to wipe it but did not fix it. We tried to get a Japanese restaurant reservation, which was impossible. We booked a reservation for the Mediterranean but they cancelled it one hour before since they overbooked it. Then they promised us a beach supper, which they just changed to a mexican restaurent which was so noisy with a band that you had to scream. So, we also left there without eating. The people there were not friendly. The waterslides were partially closed and the ones open, were not the safest. We were looking to a nice family vacation but in all honesty, it was very disappointing.

The water park section was a great way to split up the day. The one side of the pool is quieter which is nice. The other side of the pool is busy with lots of action to keep kids entertained. Food is decent.

We were a group of 14 who travelled to Grand Sirenis Punta Cana. Great resort! Nice beaches, great staff and activities for all, including for the kids! Food was delicious and rooms were clean! Will definitely go back again.

Something is wrong, as Canadian don't travel to Dominican in june,you will subjected to being a second class visitor the place is filled with Argentinians Spanish speaking enough said but its favoritism its constant and it wears on you after a week . I've never been told no so many times. The water park is as bad as the reviews your reading on adviser now all 3 of my grand kids got injured as did most kids and adults .line ups to the buffets, only to be seated at a table without cutlery, no water glasses became the standard always chasing coffee and cups in morning no bowls or spoons made soup cereal or ice cream a challenge food was sub par and warm at best ,,Japanese and Brazil passed kids enjoyed and ate something finally however my wife got food poisoning the day before we left. beach has some sargassum and is cleaned by a stinky tractor, the pools at either end have swim up bars and are 3 ft deep stink and look full of urine the middle 2 pools are 6.5 ft deep useless to most. Rooms were not always cleaned lost power every few hrs in the evening for approx 5 min until day five I lost the air ,after numerous calls a repair guy showed up fixed it and said don't use the bathroom light strange but ok. Over all the staff seem sad and indifferent more don't then do return a smile or greeting something sure is wrong!

The grounds are beautiful & well kept. Resort is laid out very well. Was disappointed to find that the Resort has stopped offering disposable gloves at the buffet restaurants. In my opinion this is not good as Covid is still very much with us. Cleaning of tables has also diminished. Overall, cleanliness of the buffet restaurants has become less of a priority. Washrooms in the lobby areas however are kept very clean. Room was okay. A basic room. Was cleaned to my liking each day. Had a couple if problems but they were attended to quite quickly. The pool was very crowded. This Resort is lacking a quiet/adults only pool. The pool is too small for all the kids that use it. I think they felt that a quiet pool was not necessary due to the Aquagames section of the resort. I will not visit this resort again as I love the pool scene but this resort does not give me a pool scene that I can enjoy. Too many unsupervised children crawling all over you. The beach is beautiful but needs more chairs. Snack bar at the beach was awesome & the Sports Bar/Coffee Shop was great. However, we were ignored at the lobby bar on more than one occasion which was frustrating. Bartenders seem to have favorites.

My bestfriend and I (mid 20s) decided to take our first all inclusive trip together. The resort was great, an extra shout out to a few front staff Brelin, Wahgner, Andry, Edward, Carlos, Breilly and ismrel! Also a shout out to our favourite bartender Victor as the resort lounge bar! The beach and pool is about a 5-10 min walk from main resort area. We stayed in building 13, our room, wasnt so great. It was extremely humid, to the point where all of our belongings were damp and musty by the time we left. Also if we left a key card, or anything plastic in the same spot for two long it would actually be WET under it. We discussed with a few other stayers and they said they didnt have that issue, everyone we spoke to was not on the first floor, we stayed in room 1305 so I would suggest staying clear of that building on the first floor. All the staff was great help all the time, no long drink wait times, food was decent, lots of options. If you are going to an all inclusive BOOK YOUR DINNERS IN ADVANCE(before your trip or the morning of your first day, you can book up to 4 at a time) we did not and never got an earlier time than 930pm. Lastly, it was a great place for kids and families, if you are in your 20s looking for excitement and friends, I would suggest an alternative resort. Lots of children, families, and older couples. Did not make it to the water park but we also didnt hear great reviews from anyone older, also sounds like it is mainly for children! Pools were always busy, if you want to get a chair at the pool id suggest getting there early, or set out a towel in the early morning. A lot of people were very rude about pool chairs and will claim them for the whole day but never actually sit at them or use them. Over all the experience was probably about a 7/7.5! Also it is quite far from Punta Cana and the airport so be prepared for 30-60min drives if you leave the resort!

I can't say enough good things about this resort. The grounds are breathtaking. Food was amazing. The rooms are very clean and updated. The cleaners did a great job cleaning everyday. The servers and bar tenders did a great job getting to everyone even when the bar was super busy. I pools were warm, maybe even too warm but we spent most of our time at the beach swimming in the ocean. This resort lived up to everyone of my expectations. I would 100% vacation here again. The kids aqua park was also great for all ages of kids.

This is a beautiful resort with beautiful people. We had an amazing time. Tge rooms were wonderful & always clean. The service we received in tge buffet restaurants was beyond amazing. A special thank you to David, Anderson, Anna, Erick, Deniisa & Wanda. We were treated so well & looked forward to seeing their smiling faces each day. We will definitely visit again.

This was a great hotel, the rooms were clean and modern. The beach is amazing and the pools were good. They do a lot to get people involved. The entertainment at night was great. Water park was good too. Food was good lots of variety.

The overall experience was good. I travelled with my parents & my 4 y/o daughter. Hotel staff was quickly accommodating for any issues we had. The shallow pool area was great for kids & families. The kids park area was a bit far in my opinion, especially if it was a super hot day, and they also only serve beer 😏. We booked an excursion with a rep who worked for Nexus (cause our Air Canada rep was never to be found) & was told we were getting an upgrade on a dolphin exhibit- which interned was not the case at all. We got middle of the barrel excursion for the same price. We were told we would swim with 2 dolphins, only had 1, & no foot push, instead was modified foot push with a boogie board. Ocean was beautiful & so was the beach - always very clean & tidy. Too bad when we were there it was often super windy & too cold to sit at the ocean. Rooms were nice and upgraded & comfy. Although there was a minor issue with our AC.

When we arrived to our room, our sheets were not changed as there were stains on it, which was a little disappointing. But overall, the resort is beautiful and the staff were very friendly. The water slides were great but 2 of them were closed the days we went. Also, If you want to do any excursions, this hotel is normally the last stop out of all the hotels as it is at the end so it is a length travel.

Loved the sand, beach, pools, restaurants, lobby area, shows, activities. Kids could not have enough of it! Nice size hotel. Not too big but just big enough to have lots of amenities, bar, restaurants. Especially loved by all the ice cream and coffee shop. Donuts, ice cream and coffee were amazing !! Disappointed by the state of the slides and the pool beside it. It needs work. Kids still enjoyed it. Issues with AC, no access to internet as it was not strong enough, had to ask for towels especially facecloths. Rooms were ok.

The room had a very bad smell coming through washroom throughout the stay, which seems to be sewage issues. Rooms were not cleaned on time or not at all. Sometimes housekeeping would forget to stock up the fridge.the staff were rarely able to communicate in English. Overall the resort was not that bad, foam party is one thing to definitely watch out for!

The resort has had a very recent facelift yet retains a beautiful mature landscape. During our visit, it was primarily families with children and the activities were plentiful to keep everyone happy and entertained. The food and service was exceptional and went far above our expectations especially after reading reviews from a popular travel website. We were very pleased with the value we received and are looking forward to a return visit in the future.

I’m not sure why there are so many negative reviews. The food was the absolute best I’ve ever had. The rooms were amazing as was our housekeeper. There are too many a la cartes to go to all of them in a week - but honestly one would be more than fine just going to the buffet. I’ve also never seen a beach have that many chairs! My daughter got quite sick and we had to see the on-site doctor who referred us immediately to the private hospital in Bavaro where we got excellent care (thank goodness we have insurance!). We tipped about $40 each throughout the week between the housekeeper and bar staff - they very much appreciated it. We will be recommending this place to others for sure!

What a wonderful place to stay!! Water park for the kids, lots of pools, daily events, very friendly staff , great food etc !! I would recommend this place to anyone ! We will be booking again in the near future !!

Went for a week with my two daughters. We didn’t do any a-la-carte dinner but the buffet changed each night so there was a good selection (and always good for kids). Entertainment (day and evening) was good. The only thing that got annoying was constantly having people approach you asking if you want to do an excursion or get your pic or go to the salon. Staff was friendly but the language barrier was a struggle at times as quite a few don’t speak English. Location and the size of the resort is great and the fact that there is a lot of sun and shady areas is a bonus for all.

Sirenis Beach Resort is beautiful. This resort has everything you need if you don’t plan on leaving the resort. It’s clean, food is amazing and the entertainment group gets everyone involved. The water park has something from infants to adults to enjoy. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. Big thanks to Julia my travel agent who is always so patient and accommodating.

The hotels is well maintained if somewhat limited in activities. In order to communicate you had better have learned Spanish or it's a guessing game. Great beach adult pool full of kids avoid pool.food was virtually the same every day but well made Nice trip overall Gail and lee

currently sold as a 4 stars, they are working hard on becoming a 5 stars i think. it is our third trip in 7 years, our second one in punta cana, the other one was in Mexico and we ate just as good, if not better then in Mexico. 7 years ago we were at Riu Bambou, which was more expensive this year when we checked for the same dates, and this resort was a good step above Rui. Super friendly staff, lots of bars, more ''a la carte'' restaurant then the duration of our stay so we couldn't try them all. Only deception was the Italian, it was ok, but not as good as the japaneese (which we went twice!) the Brazilian nor the tex mex (their steak sauce was awesome!) Clean room, clean hotel in general: i felt like there was a cleaning person sleepin in each public bathroom, as there was always someone around when ever i went. nice beach, lots of chairs ( we didn't have to wake up @ 6 to have a decent spot), good animation and great shows!

It was our 9th trip to Sirenis, so we knew what to expect. It's pretty good food, excellent service in bars and restaurants, good entertainment and of course beautiful beach. Hotel is already several years doing renovation, and if you are lucky you get renovated room. This year they finally decide to close hotel for several month and finish with renovation. It is good place to go with small kids - there is water park (free). Any way Sirenis has one of the best price for 4* hotels in Punta Cana and you get value for your money. What we did not like this year that for lunch and dinner was open only one buffet (renovated) and some time you have to wait outside in line. We been there in the beginning of February for two weeks and this year weather was not so good - almost every day strong wind, cloudy and often short rains. But anyway it was good vocation.

This resort offers great value. We were fortunate to be in recently renovated rooms which were really nice. The grounds are well kept. The food is good.....not excellent. Very difficult to get reservations in the specialty restaurants though. We were suppose to get 2 during our stay and we weren't able to secure any!! The entertainment team is the awesome.

This resort is currently under renovations. However if you are lucky enough to get a room on the tropical side you will not be disappointed with the renovated suites. The resort grounds are beautiful and very well taken care of. They do need to update the lobby and the one buffet. And I believe these renovations are scheduled for May-September this year. They do need to do some pool maintenance as it is also aging but not terrible. I must say that the workers take great pride in their jobs and are always willing to please. Japanese and Brazilian restaurants were awesome and a must during your visit. We did have issues with the temperature of the food on the buffet as we never we able to get hot food other than those stations such as the pasta or omelet stations that made it up as you waited. The resort is easy to walk as the walkways are flat and some are covered which was nice when it was raining. Never had an issue getting beach chairs or pool chairs the entire week. Entertainment was ok but nothing outstanding. Checked out the casino and they do have a couple card tables and some older model slot machines. Was fine for a little entertainment and it was fun winning some money!

Thanks so much for sending us to the Sirenis Cocotal. We really enjoyed ourselves. The resort was very nice and the food was good. The only complaint I had was our room, actually not our room just our bathroom. The room was plain and simple but clean. Our bathroom was extremely dated especially around the tub area. It was actually gross. There was that and black mold all around it and they tried putting caulking over it to cover it. The tub inlu had half of a shower door ao when we showered water got everyone and made a huge mess. Other than that even the bathroom was kept clean.

Good resort, Most staff friendly but /little English Rooms are Ok but not great. Sirenis hotel in punta cana was the best. The employees were very friendly and hard workers to make the tourists to feel like home. Very nice weather, excelent food lot of drinks And every knight good show I didn't want to back to Canada

The first four days were somewhat rocky. The air conditioning did not work , no hot water and housekeeping was terrible. After complaining, the air conditioning and hot water was fixed but the housekeeping remained terrible. If you needed something, you had to run after the maid and even then she did not have the items (coffee, creamer, towels, etc) The beach and water was fantastic. The buffet was okay but the a la carte restaurants were excellent. Overall we would give this resort a 3 out of 5.

Had an amazing time at this resort. We had no problems here. The staff are very nice and there are a lot of food options at the buffet. The location is very picturesque too. Only minor complaints are that there is quite a bit of seaweed at the beach and the resort is a little far from some of the excursions.

The food was great, a different buffet theme every night. The water park was FANTASTIC! beach was always clean and beautiful. The grounds were always being maintained, and the staff always friendly. Pool is large and very kid friendly. Only complaint would be that the pool bar closes at 6 and pool itself closed at 630. We found this very disappointing, but overall would absolutely recommend this resort to families!

Much farther away than I was expecting, booked last minute without any research so that is on me. Don't expect to do anything off the resort unless you want to pay $$$. Rooms definitely are dated and need immediate attention do not expect luxury or anything remotely luxurious. AC worked perfect in both my rooms. I had to change rooms due to water leaking from the ceiling, down the wall over the electrical outlets. It took hours dealing with this trying to explain to the front reception that water and electricity do not mix and I didn't feel safe in the room. One side of the resort is undergoing renovations so one buffet and swim up bar is closed resulting in very busy buffet and bars etc. The beach was Ok with lots of loungers but many were in bad shape. Most of the food was edible but way to repetitive, fruit and vegetables were lacking in variety and freshness at least for my liking. There were mostly Russians on the resort so if your english speaking and hoping to meet others good luck with that. The gym is decent I went twice a day due to boredom lol. All in all I would say that for the money I paid there are better options out there. I would have rather spent a few hundred dollars more for a better experience. Weather was fabulous despite a pretty scary looking forecast before heading down. One last point I booked with sunning and flew out of Toronto. The rep in the resort was almost never at his desk and extremely hard to track down. Flight home delayed one and a half hours with little to no explanation and on a late flight home this was not very nice. Also because flight was at 930 pm I was picked up at 530 pm from resort. I had to check out at noon and there are no shower facilities or late checkouts available so you have to pretty much sit around all day waiting for the bus. A place to change and shower would have been amazing as I would have been able to enjoy the pool or beach.

The sirenis cocotal resort was a nice resort! The grounds, beach and pool area were all awesome! The food was great as well!!! The bar staff especially Jackson were great! Also the staff in the buffets were good as well!! I would go back again!!! Weather was great as well!!

When we got there our room was not ready! We were not happy about that it had already been a long day. Five ours later when we were shown to our room, it was clean and spacious but dated and we had two double beds, which we did not want. This resort is very family oriented as it has a nice water park. Going this time of year (first week of April), we were hoping for a quiet, slower pace but it was extremely busy with lots of families. The food was good, the staff very helpful and friendly. We won the trip thru our local radio station and we did not have a say on our destination. For families it's a great place to go, for a couple looking to get away, not so much!

Solid resort, good food, good beach, loved the warm water in the swim up bar. You had to make you dinner reservations with your concierge aka timeshare sales man. When we refused to listen to the timeshare spiel we couldn't get a dinner reservation. One of the couples we were with took one for the team and went to the timeshare tour a we were magicallly able to get a dinner reservations for 8. As always the a la cartes are 3/4 empty.

This resort is beautifully landscaped with a great beach. The chicken bbq hut was the best food at the beach...and the hotel all together. The rooms were not super clean, and mold and mildew was on the bathroom walls. The bathrooms were not ventilated with fans which contributed to the problem. The waterpark at the resort was great for the kids and adults alike. A short walk from the main hotel, the waterpark felt like a separate resort...two holidays in one! Food was just okay. The reservation restaurants the food was very disappointing. Not enough restaurants were open to offer 24 hour service. I understand that the hotel is going to be undergoing some renovations (some had already started while we were there). I would only recommend this hotel after the renovations. NOTE: English is not great by the staff. If you don't speak Spanish...learn a few main phrases. It was difficult to find help in English.

7 nights stay in building L ground floor room 212 week of Feb 6th 2017 Cocotal side. Party of 14 with 5 separate rooms. 3 kids ages 1.5, 2.5 & 6; 2 teenagers ages 14 & 16; 5 adult between ages 32 - 42, 4 senors between ages 60 - 65. 1 senor was in a wheelchair, 1 senor used a cane. (don't recommend this resort for those who have walking issues unless you become a VIP club member so you can use the shuttle service which is only offered to club members) Shuttle service: Must be VIP club member to use shuttle service - which we didn't know about until we arrived. My parents paid for 12 of us, so I complained and got my dad a ride twice down to the main pool. Resort grounds: Beautiful & clean. Large resort: - If you have no issue with walking, you will not have any issue with the walk from beach/main pool area to lounge/reception/main buffet area. The water park is about the same distant from the lounge area as it is from the lounge area to beach where the main pool is located too. It is about a 5-10 min walk to everything from middle of resort. - This is 2 resorts attached to each other like a mirror image. One side is called Cocotal and the other side is Tropical. The main building joins both resort receipt arenas and the main bar is right between them both. Down the middle of both lounge areas is the smoking area which is an open air area. - There was plenty of lounge seating on both sides which waitresses would come and bring you drinks often. There is a big screen TV to watch movies or sports games if you wish. Buffet dining: - Always got a table that fit all 14 of us and always found 2 high chairs for the 2 younger ones - Both sides have a huge buffet which had so much to choose from that you would have to be a very picky person not to find something good to eat each and every day for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Each night is a different theme night. - There are 2 more lunch buffets, one is at the main pool area down by the beach and has a full bar. The other lunch buffet is up at the water park where they serve beer/sodas and coffee/tea only. Breakfast - hot fresh omlete bar - fresh made smoothie bar - fresh fruit bar - fresh bread bar - dry cereal and hot oatmeal - peanut butter & natella was offered along with ketchup and mustard Lunch/dinner - fresh pasta bar, and several different selections of everything (veggies, rice, fish and meats) Dessert - breakfast, lunch and dinner had so many different desserts to choose A La carte dining: Jade (Japanese) was tasty and entertaining was ok to watch your chef cook your meal. Mexican - I really didn't like Mediterranean - my parents and son was disappointed in Italian - my bother, sister-in-law and their kids left before they finished their meals and joined us in the buffet as they didn't like it American - my brother and family really liked their meals Buffets - breakfast, lunch and dinner all was great and would rather have just eaten there each time. Rooms: For my mother who was in a wheel chair the bathroom wasn't very accommodating. rooms are dated and musty smelling (damp) all clothes came home damp and musty smelling - had to wash all clothes twice even if not dirty Pillows - very lumpy (I asked for 2 more pillows which they brought to me before nightfall. One was lumpy and the 2nd one was new and fluffy Beds - my room had hard beds but my brother had 2 very soft beds Balcony - Had a very nice view of gardens plus i could see the ocean when looking down side of building Building "L" - great location to stay - just steps from beach, mail pool and lunch buffet Beach: Well maintained and beautiful - never seen any seaweed build up on beach - no bad seaweed smell Loungers always available - there were times when we just used loungers that people had placed blue towels on to reserve and if anyone came by which they didn't we would have just moved to a different set. Water - warm with nice waves - corral reef was good for snorkeling but was a bit cloudy but got to see some beautiful yellow/black and blue/black fish along with some nice shells. Customer service: - When we checked in we realized that the building we all were booked into (building "L") was the farthest building away from the main dining buffet and lounge area and the shuttle service was for club members only and my parents can't walk as my mom is in a wheel chair and my dad can barely walk a few steps so we requested they be moved to the closest building to the lounge/dinner area. They were able to change their room within a few minutes. - Several times employees offered to help me push my mother in her wheel chair. - Requested 2 rooms to have a crib for the babies prior to arriving but didn't have any in the rooms when we arrived but within a few minutes of requesting them someone arrived on a bike with 1 and then back again within minutes with the 2nd one. - My toilet got plugged one day and I request service and it was dealt with prior to me arriving back to our room later in the day. - Our cleaning lady did a great job cleaning up our room and filling our fridge every day and making cute swans with our throw blankets - Some drunk guy got confused and broke out my sister's door cause their dead bolt didn't work on their door. Maintenance came by first thing in morning and fixed it. Pool/bar Was very large and a bit dated - had a nice slow slope into deeper water lots of drinks to choose from at pool bar - I prefer the beach over pool Water Park After did first day at water park I realized that it was really not needed as the kids of all ages loved the beach best. Water park was great thou - had a great water slide area for teens and older kids and a jungle gym area with mini water slides and water buckets for the younger kids that is surrounded by a water lagoon and there is a toddler water sprinkler area. I highly recommend this place for families/groups of any age as long as they can walk well.

We arrived Punta Canta only to find out that we were not on their list of arrivals to be taken to our resort - finally got on shuttle and arrived at resort only to find about a dozen people/families trying to change rooms !! Our room was NOT ready and we were told to come back around 3pm - it was 1230 so we went for lunch and came back (and were more or less ignored) as the front desk staff looked over our heads while the staff in the "back" room attempted to divvy up rooms available. We got absolutely nothing we requested and were prepared to pay for. Our room was finally assigned at 4:45. The room was full of mold and stunk bad with must. Within first five minutes, our door handle fell on the floor - the tub was blocked and as tub was only 4 feet, water sprayed around the bathroom and went out into the hallway. The door was rotted out at the bottom as a result of the water flowing freely. We asked for cleaning supplies and were told by maid service that they didn't have any, they cleaned surfaces with a brush only. Going to bed we had to request clean sheets as they had not been changed. We worked the next day to change our room - took again most of day - now two days wasted almost. The second room was better but not great as it too had MOLD but bathroom MUCH BETTER. In fact, since arriving back home, we have had to wash our clothing (dirty and not worn) three times as odor will NOT COME OUT. My suggestion is keep all your clothes in your suitcases and keep them closed. Grounds are beautiful, ocean fantastic, beaches just what your dream about. Buffets/restaurants provide a good variety, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables but more often than not food is cold (even when the restaurant just opens). Room staff and restaurant/buffet staff attempt to do all they can for you. Water slides great but have to walk a distance as there is no entrance when you leave the front door of the resort. Pools clean and areas around enjoyable. NO SMOKING signs in the main lobby / bar areas yet everyone smoking - what the hell is this ?? Lots of under age drinking. Casino - not really. Entertainment center okay and the young dancers/singers give it their all. LOTS of NEW RESORTS built around - told they will be revamping this one, but this will have to be major as they have to manage the mold situation and improve the front desk service. As well reps from Sunwing not available -- too busy in his words "making babies".

SERVICE AT FRONT DESK WAS NOT THERE TOOK 5 HOURS TO GET OUR ROOM.THAT WAS FULL OF MOLD[STILL ON MY CLOTHING AFTER 2 WASHS],BATHTUB BLOCKED DOOR HANDLE FELL OFF,MOLD ALL OVER TUB.FOOD NOT TO BAD,GROUNDS NICE.WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR REFUND FOR FIRST ON RESORT.

Check in was quick, grounds immaculate, staff extremely friendly and professional, rooms excellent, beach and pool areas clean and well attended. Overall a very clean and enjoyable vacation location. Have to be very careful about the "a al carte" venues. Meal times at the venues were extremely late in the evening.

Food good and service great, lots to do. Lots of swimming and activities going on all day. Kids was always kept busy. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to help you. Could use a few benches on walkways so if got tired walking you could sit down and take a break.

The hotel grounds itself was beautiful! Lush greens and beautiful flowers. The pool and beach were perfect... No complaints. The buffets had a huge variety of delicious food. Our room was a two star at best.... Mould, rusted facets, damp and full of flies. We complained Nd switched buildings to a suite. The wAterslides portion was hands down the best part of the resort.

Grounds and public areas were good but the rooms at least the bath room was HORRIBLE. Many times the keys to open da door not work the rooms did not have umbrella. The aqua park yes so beautiful so good to the kids really the worst was the room, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE

We loved everything about the resort we had already went there but to the other one Sirenis tropical it was an amazing trip everything went well we would recommend it to our friends the staff was super and we relaxed a whole lot thanks for all the help

I've read many good and bad reviews about Sirenis Cocotal. Some of them were so bad that I had seconds thoughts in going there. But I'm glad I did; here's what I experienced great, good and bad, with my family: GREAT: buffet food (variety, tasty, none of us got sick). Beach and water were amazing (clean, big beach, seaweeds were cleaned daily). Entertainment on the beach (the crew was great, offered aerobic on the beach and in the pool, bar service was very good. Even as a mother of 2 and with another family with kids, we still felt pampered. Awesome service!). Pools were big, clean, great. GOOD: lobby was big, nice music, grounds were kept nice, lovely gardens. Room was ok, clean, no bugs, just some small ants. Room smelled nice, no nasty smells, and it was spacious. I was in block E on the 3rd floor. BAD: the tub in the washroom was very old, rusty, but we only used it to shower so we didn't really care. The rest of the washroom was nice. The restaurants (we booked one almost each evening; the service was extremely slow and not much variety in food; waiters were fast and hard working but it wasn't enough of them I think. We would have been better eating at the awesome buffet each night instead of wasting time going to the restaurants. But in the end we made it fun). OVERALL: more pluses than minuses, we loved it here, and I would go back anytime!

The resort and grounds were beautifully maintained. Our room was spacious and clean. The grounds were well tended. The pools had swim up bars and between the restaurants and beach BBQ, food was never far away. The beach was very clean and had plenty of lounge chairs. The staff at every turn were attentive, cheerful and very helpful and accommodating. The main building had two large dining rooms with a different themed buffet every day. The food was delicious and there was a large variety to choose from. Very family friendly resort with certain areas more kid friendly than others so if you wanted to be in a more adult area it was easily possible. There was a different show for the kids at the pool every afternoon and another family show every evening. Great time!

The resort itself was beautiful, the walkways, restaurants, beach and pools, all lovely. The food at the buffet restaurant was delicious and there was always a good variety. We enjoyed the Japanese and Steak house restaurants as well. The bars served watered down drinks!!! which was annoying, but when ordering shots, the quality was better. However our room was not nice at all. The bathroom was old, with black around the tub. Every time the folks upstairs had a shower, there was water streaming into our room. Maintenance came to fix it, however there continued to be a smaller stream. The ceiling tiles were stained black at the edges, so this was obviously not a new occurrence. The mini bar was only restocked with soft drinks one or two days out of our stay. We resorted to taking water bottles off her cart when sighted. We had four staying in our room, so did not always have enough towels. When trying to sort things out with the staff, the lack of English comprehension was evident. It was difficult to know if your point was understood or not. We took the side trip to Saona island with Nexus tours. The guide promised only 1 stop on the way, after specifically asking how many passengers would our transport be picking up. He promised only from our resort. Well, it took over an hour to get to the one stop, as we stopped at numerous resorts to pick up passengers. Especially annoying since some of the passengers were not waiting, and had to be paged. Then, on the power boat ride, the boat traveling with us crashed, I mean crashed, into the side of our boat. Thankfully the guide was at the front of the boat and alerted my son to duck, or he would have had the point of the boat hit his head. Bits of fibreglass sprayed us, and there was quite a jolt. The lead guide laughed it off, but it was potentially a serious accident. Having said that, we did enjoy this trip, and would recommend it. Just keep your hands/arms inside the boat and pay close attention to the other boats. So all in all, we did not pay top dollar for this resort, and we were alerted by our agent that the rooms were older. We were able to not let the room upset us, and thoroughly enjoy ourselves. I don't think we will go back to DR again because my son and husband were sick with N/V, and out of commission for a full day each. It was a couple days before they were feeling back to normal. I would hesitate to recommend this place for fear of problems with the room, and the difficulty getting the staff to understand the problem, or come to a solution. I think I will forsake the bargain next time and pay for a better hotel.

This hotel resort was very inviting , staff were very nice, but tipping to bartenders and serving staff is highly recommended in order to get the best service. The drinks at the bar are watered down so it is a good practice to ask for your drinks not mixed . Beer and wine is you best bet. IF booking get the upgrade to elite.

Upon arrival, we thought the resort looked beautiful, well maintained grounds, large lobby, very inviting. We had to wait two hours to check into our room (we required two since we are a family of 5 - 3 being teens). We were told to go ahead and have lunch at the buffet. The food was pretty disappointing to be honest. It wasn't hot, there were odd combinations like ham chunks in olive juice, and other mystery meats that we decided we shouldn't attempt. The kids managed to find a few things but I wasn't too impressed with the offerings. In any case, we decided that wasn't what we were there for. So once we were told where to get to our room we were excited... until we got there. We carried our own luggage over to our building and our first view of the main floor corridor was horrific. There was a new elevator being built just outside our rooms for one, so lots of hammering and mess, the hallway was utterly disgusting, rotting ceiling and walls all torn up... All good, let's see the rooms... I walked into my room and my jaw dropped. The bathtub was so dirty and rusted there was no way i was going in there for a shower, the walls were disgusting, dirt and stains all over the curtains and blankets (looked like poop chunks)... I started to cry. There was no way our first family vacation together was going down like this. We spoke to our concierge who could see how upset I was and I also mentioned we were celebrating two birthdays that week and couldn't believe the rooms were that awful at a 4.5 star resort, let's not forget the smell of mold so strong I thought I was going to be sick. He spoke to the front desk manager and told us we could get new rooms the next day, but had to spend the night in the current rooms. Fine, one night ... not too bad. Woke up needing a walk to the beach to get the stench of mold off of me. We were given the new rooms on the Tropical side the next day around 1:30 and they were larger, and somewhat cleaner, definitely a step up but still had issues, bathroom door wouldn't close without jamming a shower cap in it to keep it closed... but no smell and clean tub. On the positive, the grounds are beautiful, on the negative ... there are reps everywhere harrasing you to go to a complimentary breakfast to sell you a membership to become a VIP at their resorts world wide which sounds not bad the first two hours until the mention the $16,000 to $20,000 USD fee to become a member and won't take no for an answer... it's the most frustrating thing ever and they harass you the entire time you are there. These reps are all over the resort. It was not relaxing unless you found a secluded spot on the beach to chill for the day. The beach was nice, the water was okay, had a lot of garbage in it ... and there were a lot of kids, to be expected being a family resort. There were many very rude and pushy Europeans unfortunately who just didn't care who the pushed out of the way to get what they wanted. The a la carte restaurants weren't bad. Better than the buffet for sure. We did encounter some very wonderful staff members however and they helped make our stay seem better. Personally I would not recommend this resort if you want a relaxing and quiet vacation... but if you have kids, the place isn't that bad and the pool area is huge and ideal for families. Let's just say we were happy to come home this time, which made me sad because this vacation meant a lot to me and my family.

The resort itself is nice, the property very lush with vegetation and flowers. The service was hit and misd. The negative: we were harassed by the conciege/time share person the entire duration...the guy followed me to my room..that is highly inappropriate, this made me feel unsafe, and uncomfortable. I won't be returning to this resort ever.

I stayed in building B which was close to everything. People that work at this hotel, makes this a enjoyable resort. The food was good and you can have your pick...you will not go Hungary. I will go back for sure.

Myself and 3 girlfriends just got home on Oct 20/2016.We had a great trip and the resort was beautiful.What I really liked was how close the pools were to the beach,so we could go back and fourth from one to the other.The people were friendly and we had beautiful weather.The water park was amazing.I would recommend this resort to anyone.

First of all we got to the resort.. took a while to get checked in as they had me booked wrong! They had us booked under my middle name. When we finally got everything sorted out we were only given 1 room key. After we searched for our room no map or assistance to find it in the dark! Finally found it just to get stuck in the elevator:( Definitely not off to a great start. Finally got in our room as it was a total travel day.. we wanted to freshen up we had no face cloths just 2 bath towels 1 bath mat. Room smelt musty and visibly run down. Things off the walls things not working we had bare wires exposed. As well as mold. Went for dinner main buffet.. it looked okay... first piece of chicken we had was raw in the middle. Advised them of this all they said was okay. We had a early night that night. Woke up with bites. Saturday we met with jerry our air Canada rep- booked some excursions. Went to the pool had some drinks all booze was watered down.. asked for name brand was told no that was for the high rollers and VIP!!! (I guess their is a pink bracelet that intitles you to get name brand - never found this out until after we returned to Canada!!) did the shows and then bed was not impressed woke up with hives our room was infested with fleas and possible bed bugs. Sunday was my birthday! They gave me a bottle of sparkling.. we had a great day did the buggy tour and came back and did our first elecarts Italian- was good. But they were running out of items. Another sleepless night! And more bites advised Jose of our issues and concerns.. he made a few calls and tried to get us another room none were available. They came and changed our sheets Monday- we did a catamaran tour very good. We had to meet at 710 and early breakfast all the tables were dirty and was given a headache for sitting in the spot that was clean in the restaurant and we sat in the dark and all the food had been sitting the hot was cold and the cold food was warm at all times no air flow in here either 6:30 am and sweating Came back and did the 40's dinner good but not overly impressed with finger foods a waste of a al ecart . Tuesday- did a scuba diving with padi (Jennifer) she's very good!! Body full of bites! Didn't even want to wear shorts let alone a bathing suit! Asked for a change of room front desk told no!! They said we would have to wait until morning and come see the front desk. By this point we slept in lawn chairs at the pool! Our room was not an option!! Wednesday we Took a bunch of pictures! Showed our concierge Josè in the am he made a call and said he would get back us found us at the pool and advised us that the room would be cleaned top to bottom.. We had Mexican restaurant booked.. 8:30pm was awful the food wasn't edible. We went to the shows. And checked out the market people that were in the resort so pushy and aggressive! No way around them unless you took the service roads. Even tho our room was cleaned the sheets were not... and again had more issues this was totally ruined our vacation!eatting at the buffet at 41+ sweating with hives not enjoyable!! We ate at the buffet most mornings and lunch very disappointed with amount of people budding and eatting off the buffet. The hotel was out and about smoking the grounds so I am confident they were aware they had issues with sand fleas. People I spoke with who stayed on the Tropicana side were having the same issues however their rooms were in better condition. All the bars if you didn't have money in your hand you definitely didn't get services! Tricked into 90min session that was 3.5 hours!!! Only plus was alcohol that wasn't watered down!!! Waterpark- kids area looked good.. watersides didn't have enough water so there was a dry stop disappointed in this. Thursday night they came and changed our bedding again refusing to changing our room thank goodness we're going home Friday is all we could think the last 3 days!!! This is the worst place ive ever been to! And we are seasoned travelers!! I wish my travel agent advised us against this hotel it was a total waste of time and money!

The grounds and beach and most of the ala cart restaurants were amazing. The rooms left something to be desired. For starters the toilet ran continuously and took all week for someone to fix it. The fridge froze my insulin no diet pop available except at the bar. The food on the Buffet was cold and was a known thing to them because there was a microwave to heat your food. The cold food was warm. I requested a room close to amenities due to mobility issues and got the furthest away room possible. The shower was coming off the wall were told about it and nothing was done about it. The buildings of 3 stories had elevators that we got stuck in on our way to our room. We were left to find our room in the dark on our own while our luggage was sent with the bell hop. Was very frustrating to find out when you finally get there that they have put you the furthest away possible from the front were the buffet and main desk was. I booked this trip in April and travelled in September, I feel the hotel let us down with our requests and didn't try to accomadate us at all. I would not travel to Punta Cana again in the off season again as fellow visitors form other countries have no educate or manners for the simple fundamentals of a buffet and don't know what personal space or the end of the line is. This was our 25 th Anniversary trip. We were told that we were gong to get a bottle of champagne and it went to the wrong room luckily it went to my sisters room and we ended up with it, there were no glasses just the bottles, not the same out of coffee cups. My brother in law broke out in hives the size of grapefruits from the fleas that he had in his bed, and all they did was change the bed,,, he is highly asthmatic and this setback put a damper on the trip. As he spent the last 4 days in bed on allergy medication and couldn't do what the rest of us could. All in all the weather was amazing, the customer service was beyond terrible and I would not go back to this resort. if I could get a refund I would this was suppose to be a special 25 anniversary trip and it was a disaster. from the minute we got there

We stayed at this resort sept23-30th this hotel has a great beach. Very beautiful It's Clean and has lots of chairs... but to find one good luck! too many people reserving chairs running back and forth being that the pool &beach are side by side. This hotel is overrun with Russians!!! We are not racist by any means!! but this can not go in said! They're ignorant,rude eating off the buffet,budding in lines! no manners whatsoever. They would take the ladle out of the buffet right to their mouth and eat off the buffet. Their small children running around and swimming with no supervision. We stayed inL117 This hotel rooms are run down. Things not on the walls broken parts mould (mould in that clement is expected tho) when repairs were needed it took many many hours if not days for repairs. Our room was infested with sand fleas and bed bugs .we also had ants. So every single night you could gaurentee would be sleepless:( we called the desk 3 times to have a change of room and was told no! So they would come and change the sheets (short time fix) we noticed a lot of people walking around covered in calamine lotion, so they're more than aware of this issue. we came for r&r this definitely contributed to us being in happy. Lobbybar- no money in hand no service they would serve everyone else around you. ALL BOOZE WATERED DOWN!!!!!! If you're coming to get your drink on lol this isn't the resort to go to. We paid for this service and even a shot that should have been strong-Definitely not the case. (In all bars and we even went over to the premium side same crap!) Buffet- So hot! Not enjoyable no air or fans sweating while eating not our cup of tea. hot food-undercooked or over cooked no happy medium (raw chicken) cold- was warm and in the same area as the hot. (They did supply a microwave on the buffet. ) We were flipping afraid of getting. Salmonella poisoning!!!! not fun on vacation!!! Breakfast buffet always safe the fresh eggs they made omelets and eggs whatever kinds while you wait ,but there's only one person doing this..so it took forever to get through...most of the people you're with,finished eating by the time you returned.Dinner this was also the case for fresh pasta. the French toast pancakes were rockhard. Break your tooth off if you were to attempt to bite it. and again cold. Pool snack bar- was good. We ate here a lot. Specialty restaurants- Steakhouse- it's probably one of the best they have. Large quantities make sure you make your reservations early because they run out of food. Mexicana- is disgusting don't waste your time. It was awful. 40 Diner- was good mostly finger foods Italian- very good again but make your reservations early because they run out of food and then you're limited to what you can get. Josè - absolutely amazing! Friendly spoke good English:) We went for the beach,the food& booze and the room and was 2 out of three was a total let down! My advice! Don't go here!!! Pay the extra $ and get better service and food we wish we did!
