The stay was not worth what we paid and come to find out after arriving we could have gotten 1 room for 5 people (because a 0-4 year old doesn't count, and my child was 3.) So could have saved THOUSANDS there. So we had a beachfront cottage thank God, it was the best and closest I've ever stayed to the beach! Beach was beautiful! Plenty of bars around. Smaller resort, but I like that. The food was insane in the sense that I went to the grill three times during operating hours while they told me either no food left or not ready yet. The main buffet often ran out of food or wasn't the greatest. You couldn't bring food to the room so when my son was sick and hungry well ....that was sad. Bartenders are amazing ? shout out to Ruel, tall man, Mark. A la carte restaurant had 2 options .... oriental and Mediterranean .... Oriental was better, but both okay. There is a store not far outside the resort. The bus ride from airport to resort felt like decades on a warm frequent stopped bus(almost last stop). I'd definitely return as I'm very easy to please but I'd never pay what I paid again for that stay. One love.

Loved the cottages,feel like your in a village. Everything super close to each other.no long walk to bar,pool or beach..Loved the friendly staff.Beach was lovely and were in process of upgrading umbrellas. This wS my 6th stay, like famy

I took my 4 sons and my husband here and we had the most amazing time! The entertainment was great , the food was delicious, and the beach was beautiful! We felt welcomed right from the moment we got off the bus . The only thing I would say could use improvement is at certain times you can’t get food , not long times but a couple times we were famished and had to wait an hour .. all in all we cannot wait to return!!!!

We like small resorts with lots of greens/trees etc. Especially the huts in garden like settings are very nice and comfortable. The 5 beaches are nice but small and the windy weather allowed body surfing more than swimming! Facilities and food are good but moderate. Did not use the pool so no rating. The beach bar was under renovation which did not affect us but if your room is at the far east end then it is a long walk to get a beer!

Clean, cozy bungalows, full buffets, no lines, friendly service. Perfect place for retired couple not so much for the younger travellers. Would recommend it go back. We easily arranged excursions with the staff that was available daily. Enjoyed a complementary bottle of Champaign for my birthday.

We were at the Royal Decameron Runaway Bay Ramada in January 2025 and were there to celebrate a friend's 90th birthday. We have been to this resort numerous times and seen the good and the bag. Happy to report this time that there was great improvement in the quality of the food and also improvement in the entertainment. A great improvement from our trip in August 2024 The hotel is upgrading some areas so some parts of the resort were blocked off but the improvements will be amazing when completed Looking forward to a return visit hopefully at Christmas

We just got back from Decameron Club Caribbean on Runaway Bay. We stayed in a gardenview cottage. We were put in a "loft" cottage, not sure why as there was just 2 of us, these are for families with kids. I asked the next day to be moved to a cottage with a King bed with no loft, they had a very nice cottage available and kindly moved us there. It was much nicer and a quieter area of the resort. The staff are amazing, very friendly and always ask if your ok and if you need anything. The food is amazing, something a little different everyday; breakfast, lunch, snack 3-5, and then dinner. 4 meals a day, no shortage of food. There was a variety of entertainment everyday which was very good. The beaches and pools are very nice too. The only negative thing about this resort, is the security, as there are people on the beach who say they work for the resort, try and sell you excursion packages, then dont show up after you pay them. Please be aware of a guy named Bruce, as he ripped us off, he also sells shells at the watersports hut. Apparently he is a criminal, most staff at the resort know about him, but they have not arrested him for some reason. I did let guest services know about this and they said they would inform police.

Hotel was dated and need some up grades. It's quite rustic for people wanting to just get away relax and have fun and enjoy the cats around the compound. I was personally disappointed with the Air Canada vacation representative Danielle that was nowhere around was not able to assist us in any way and due to the fact that we were not able to book tours or any of that leaving her several message and trying to contact her from the hotel it was not professional Air Canada needs to check into that because it's their name. As far as the staff on the property very nice from the guests service check-in to the restaurants the bar big up to Delroy very nice young man was always smiling always happy watching your drinks. As always the entertainment needs work. We had no issues with the staff the housekeepers the people who are serving everyone was friendly polite even the groundsman the weather was not good at that time for us but we made the best out of it with what we had to work with thank you Natalie appreciate your help with this from trip Central

Great resort to spend some relaxing in the sun. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was great and lots of choices for everyone's tastes. The entertainment was awesome. Lots of chairs at the beach and the watersports team was fantastic especially Delmart, loved the catermaran ride! Rooms were clean and the housekeeping staff were very accommodating. All the staff worked hard to make your stay enjoyable. Ps your photo does not match the resort we stayed at? .

We have been to this hotel many times--- the staff are amazing and we always look forward to seeing them. The front desk manager is amazing and always ensures we get our favourite bungalow. The hotel is currently sharing a manager with the other 2 Decameron resorts in Montego Bay so never available to guests. The food selection and prepartaion was uch better this visit than our last two visits. The one major complaint is the entertainment- the entertainment crew are young and not particularly talented. There is a lot of guest participation in the evenings and not much Jamaican entertainment. Also the Columbian Dancers pertorm - imderstand the hotel is operated by Columbians, but not fond of the dancers The grounds of the hotel are well maintained and the individual cottages are the big draw-- We have already booked for Christmas and look forward to seeing friends again Please note, our travel agent, Susan Snider does an amazing job for us and we adore her!!!

I found it very nice. The beach was good. Staff was very nice and helpful. The food was amazing, every meal I was very satisfying, the restaurants on the resort were so good and some of the best food I have ever had! Really enjoyed the vacation!

We had two rooms ( huts ) side by side which made it easy for 3 people to vacation together. The rooms were clean, and the cleaners did a great job. I liked the layout and especially the huts of the resort. The entertain ent was good, especially the Michael Jackson show. The food was decent, although on the Saturday when new guests arrived the restaurant did run out of food. Drinks were decent but the wine was horrible. You need to invest in more than 1 of each white and red wine. Some of the bartenders were great, but a few were extremely rude. You definitely need to invest in higher broadband for wifi, we were often without. A couple of front desk people had slight attitudes. Even with the few complaints it was a decent vacation for the money.

It was garbage Never staying there again and definitely will not recommend to anyone Food garbage Entertainment garbage No loungers. No chairs. 1 restaurant. 1 bar No Jamaican music. People are rude and pushy Hookers allowed inside as guests to customers Rooms loud and dirty Garbage. Do not go.

Was not expecting much and was disappointed by how poor the experience was overall. There was not 1 single aspect of this resort that stood out or was anything higher than just acceptable. Very poor quality product offered and wish I would have spent my money elsewhere.

Never would I ever go to this resort again, Garden rooms are in a parking lot by the highway right where busses come in and out of., everytime theres traffic or horns it wakes you up. Mattress on a cement slab, cats meowing and defecating near room in the so called garden, large roaches out side the room. Staff not accommodating let alone friendly. Buffet you are having to find your own cutlery, cups and serve your own water and coffee lack of food and waiting for plates for meals by time you got one not much food for selection. I was called discriminate name from a bar tender and made me cry. No beach chairs as people were claiming them in middle of night. Pools small and not enjoyable. Morning of departure staff knocking on door at 9am asking us to check out. Put out a so not disturb sign so we can have breakfast and shower as check out was at noon, came to room at 1130 and they were in there cleaned room out and luggage was at door of room. I could keep going on and feel we should be compensated for a holiday from hell.

Resort was pretty much what I was expecting with two exeptions. First, they ran out of beer on the wednesday and thursday. I could see this happening but would expect it to be remedied quickly not repeated the next day. Secondly they "ran out" of certain foods, that seemed to be remedied for us (4 of us) because we tip well but others went without. This method of extortion for tips would be easily eliminated with a good supply of foods and screams "Bad management" to me. Its too bad beacuse most of the staff were quite nice and helpful.

The hotel property was well thought of with the beach in sections with its own pillars was quite awesome, the bungalow LOVE IT with that being said i was somehow disappointed with the food selection snd the taste was a hit or missed , there were no towels both beach and room the ones you get was old i mean bleach wash out the dinning staff was horrible they see color but thr drinks and bartendes were great, i mean if i cant find anywhere to stay in Jamaica i would go back there but just to stay nothing else

food quality was ok but selection was not very good 😕 the rooms were clean and nice and the maid staff was amazing! pretty hotel but need to spray the smoke stuff to control the mosquitoes, there was alot of mosquitoes and very uncomfortable 😐 dining staff was ok but never came back to check on us for more drinks during meals especially in the morning 🌄 the bar staff was awesome and the entertainment staff were very good 👍 over all it was an ok trip ... would I stay there again 🤔 NOPE!!

We had read, from other sources, bad reviews but we were very happy with our stay. The staff were wonderful, rooms clean and well supplied. The cottages were perfect! The food was not gourmet but I wasn’t expecting that and we always had plenty to eat and drink. I would say that this resort is more for the 55+ crowd. It seemed as the entertainment crew had a bit of a hard time getting anyone to participate. I found the evening entertainment quite good especially the steel drum band.

Arrived late afternoon and brought promptly to our hut (Gardenview). Was nice, clean but nothing like the pictures. 4 holes in the roof, comfortable king bed, AC worked well. Hot water was not available 2 days out of 10, no fridge in the room (they are listed as standard in every room). We asked for one but it never arrived. For reference, we saw other guests beachfront huts and also the suites which were very nice. The beachfront huts had upper lofts with twin beds and some were adjoining to the next hut for larger groups or families. The restaurants are good - The food was plentiful and tasty. The Snack Shack (Beach restaurant) made the best burgers! We had the Caribbean A la Carte one night, and the steak was the best I've had in years. Good Breakfast choices, and plenty of fresh fruits and veggies at all meals. Beaches were very nice, sort of a beach for every mood. The far end always had something fun going on as did the main pool area. Games, Bingo, dancing, Welcome show with a phenomenal saxophone player one day. It was very windy most days which made swimming or snorkeling challenging, but kept you from sweltering. The nightly shows were awesome! A magician enthralled the crowds one night, singers, dancers, contests. Perfect end to the day. The entertainers did a great job, they would engage you or leave you alone - they read people pretty well. The bars were all really great - however they did run out of beer 3 times to the chagrin of some of the beer-only drinkers. They would whip up any type of cocktail you asked for. The Jetty bar was a fun place with every 2nd seat as a swing at the bar. We did not do any excursions - the prices were all in US dollars and seemed very expensive. If you ventured off the resort, there was a gauntlet of private taxi drivers and "party organizers" trying to sell you even more expensive private tours. Found that if you left the resort before 9AM you could avoid them. Let me stress this was our first time in Jamaica so we were learning the ropes. It was an awesome, wonderful vacation and we have a lot to learn about this beautiful island.

First visit since Covid Have been to this resort over 20 times, Beautiful gardens, quaint cottages, wonderful staff Disappointed in food selection for the first time in all our visits-- but then got an update on the kitchen staff-- the executive chef had given notice and left late fall and no replacement hired when we were vacationing. Chef from a sister site was at hotel part time but food presentation and availability was below par. We had a great time though and will be booking again soon.

We went July 19-26th 2022. We had the most amazing experience! Perhaps the best part ( aside from the stellar ocean views and access ) was undoubtedly the staff! Amazing services and always genuine and with smiles. Special shout outs to Troy who was part of landscaping/ maintenance… his positive attitude brought a smile to our faces every single day! Also to Odette from the bar by our little beach. I believe it was called Bar Booze Liner . She was absolutely phenomenal! Also William from the main bar was brilliant! So happy we found this gem ! And we WILL be back..sooner rather than later!

This was our second visit to this resort. Staff is so friendly & efficient. The grounds were in beautiful shape, food is excellent and having your own little cabin is great. It is quite safe to go out of the resort to the surrounding little stores & gift shops. Although the main pool is a bit tiny & noisy we took advantage of the "quiet" adult pool at a different end of the resort.

We wanted clean, quiet, relaxing, and great food. We got all that and more when we chose to stay at Royal Decameron Club Caribbean in Runaway Bay! From our own Bungalow to the clean beaches and friendly staff, we were so satisfied! We enjoyed everything so much that we plan to return next year!

The staff were fantastic. The food was delicious. The noise was unbearable. Day and night.We thought this resort was for us old boring people. It was way too loud!! We had to wear earplugs but that didn't work. If you are looking to stay up late and listen to very loud music...everyday and night........then this is the place for you. I'm not kidding.....ridiculous noise! Too bad because we loved our little beachfront cottage.

Modest accommodations, great food and drinks, friendly staff all made for a top vacation! perfect for drinkers - but not too spring breaky! awesome relaxed crowd. entertainment was so fun, 3 small beaches feel very private.

Had a great vacation. 6 of us stayed the first week of December, ocean front suite and 2 garden rooms. Check in was smooth, requested fridges were in the rooms and paid for the safe at check -in. Food was great, plenty of choices at all meals. The 2 a-la -cartes were very good, would recommend going, seatings at 6:30 & 8:30pm for the one above the Buffet and 7pm & 8:30pm for the one at the far end of the resort. Daily activities were non-stop, something for everyone at the beach, pool and by the tennis court for archery (big favorite on this trip!) Steel band played during supper, then the house band, daily awards were presented and then evening entertainment. The disco opened at 11pm but we didn't make it up that late. Plenty of beach chairs, new ones were being brought in, less by the pool but you'd rather be at the beach anyways. Quiet pool was nice to visit, bar right there was never busy. The swing bar (Jetty bar) on the beach was very nice. Rooms were spacious with a large washroom and walk in closet. AC worked great and even though our room was by the road we didn't hear a thing and slept vey well. Nice comfortable mattress. Enjoyed our stay and will return!

Needs up date. Beautiful location, grounds and general area just great. Landscaping well-kept but dated. The front deck staff are the most welcoming on this property. Housekeeping very pleasant. The beach was a bit rough the days I spent making the water some-what cloudy. The entertainment team are priceless they are very creative. Three star hotel with a five star entertainment team. Dining room, bar and snack bar lacks leadership. You could not identify the head of the department. It would be wise to have a house representative on duty at all times, there were so many issues in the dining room and no one to who you could speak. The cook bring replacement food and have not noting that there are no plates. I spent 7 days and every days at this resort, the same issue each day, for all three meals served plates missing in salad and dessert stations and no one seemed to be concerned, when they were told it will soon come. Everyone in the dining room should be watching these areas. The hotel was not fully booked there should be extra of everything lying around. After a long wait, cold plates in the hot food section, hot plates in the cold food section. Servers picking up your utensils before you are finished. Servers not engage with guest. Ignoring people of colour and are more focus on white folks whom they think will give a bigger tip. Some meal, average but low end cut of meats. Carving skill lacking at roast station this results in a lot of waist. Recycled food items are prevalent and needs more creativity in its' presentation. This my 5th stay at this resort because of the location and it's proximity to my place of business functionality while I am in Jamaica. I have stayed at the Bahia 3 times, Rio twice , Breezes twice , Hyatt rose hall once , Sandals Negril, twice all in Jamaica . Club Caribbean best in creative entertainment. I will be visiting this resort again because of it proximity and convivence to my functionality while in Jamaica. The front desk staff are well trained very professional in their work. I had two servers that was very professional female Althea , and very tall light skin gentleman for got his name , they gave five star service. They should be training the new servers. I would recommend this location to a business, not a honeymooner or younger folks no night activity for the younger set . refrigerator in rooms would be nice.

I spent 6 days at the Royal Decameron Club Caribbean and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I stayed in a garden view cottage which was lovely. Very spacious and clean. The resort was very clean and all staff very friendly and helpful. The beach was lovely and the grounds well kept. The food was good and I would say there was something for everyone. I would recommend the resort for anyone who likes smaller places to stay.

The beaches were beautiful, the entertainment staff were amazing and friendly! I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this resort to everyone looking to go to Montego Bay! You will not be disappointed. The food was great and was different every night

I think the rooms were excellent the huts I enjoyed the huts very much. Wi-Fi service was very poor. Oh that the Cameron can get the wi-fi system fix so that we can use it in the room. Overall I think that the place was enjoyable.

Excellent vacation at Royal Decameron Club Caribbean. Clean, friendly and well staffed would definitely book another vacation at this resort. Cannot add to my comments above I think they say it all.

This was a nice place the rooms were lovely as was the staff. They seemed to be understaffed though which was frustrating for the few staff members. The beach was gorgeous, but the food could have been better.

Every room is a cabana, which I thought was cool! The grounds were well maintained- there were always workers around. And the hammocks along the one side were great to lounge in!! Typical island food at the buffet every day. Bit of variety, but basaically the same items every day. Beaches were great- there were 3 separate beaches, so there were always chairs and umbrellas available- bonus! AC in my cabana worked wonderfully. Always had hot water for my shower. Staff is friendly...very friendly if you're a single woman 😉 Good excursions offered at reasonable prices. Went in June, was hot every day and not a drop of rain for the entire week! Would definitely return to this resort, I think.

Food was great. Restaurant and bar staff were awesome. The cleaning people however took liberties and helped themselves to my daughters makeup, her hair straightener (which later mysteriously showed up..when we previously looked EVERYWHERE) I lost money out of my purse. My friend Christina also lost money. One of our students lost underwear. And another person in our group also lost money. I’ll go back to Jamaica but not that resort.

Staff were friendly especially Pauline in housekeeping. Rooms were in good condition and ground were well kept, over all resort was clean and well maintained. Buffet always had something for everyone but if you chose to eat later during the seating sometimes selections were limited.

Grounds and building were very well kept. Cottages were amazing. Service was good. Beach was great. Pool was very small. Food was good. Little disappointed that nobody brought drinks to you. Front desk staff was great. Internet worked great

The rooms were very clean. There are no fridges in the rooms unless you rented one. We asked several times for one but they said there were none available. Others had fridges in their rooms but did not request one. The food was good with a large variety of dishes. The grounds were well kept. There were a few maintenance workers that kept bugging for us to get them beer. The check in and check out were not very organized at all. We were delayed getting our rooms on arrival due to housekeeping, as we were told. Who ever assignes the rooms should look at the resort maps. We asked to be close to our friends we were travelling with we had room 132 and they had 131 but they were in separate isles. All in all it was pretty good.

This is such an amazing resort. Rooms are spacious and clean. The buffet was the best. The shuttle from the airport was ridiculous. We sat on the bus for about and hour before leaving and then picked up 2 locals on the way. Landing time to arrival at resort was 4 hours!!

The resort was amazing. Very clean, gorgeous beach, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The cottages are very spacious and clean. Lots to do on the resort and the excursion were awesome. I will be returning and I would recommend this resort.

This hotel is "Jamacia"....it is not the concrete American style hotel. If you truly want a taste of waking up in the gardens or the next to the sea this is your spot. It's not a party resort..its a relax and have a good time resort. We travel all year long...and this resort is 5 star service..food...experience and location. If you are looking for an American style hotel this is not for you...if you are looking to just get a way and truly relax this is the place for you. No complaints except having to leave. Shout out to Seiko at the front desk who greeted us like family from the moment we arrived. If you are looking for a party resort...this is not the place for you...this is a little slice of heaven for the everyday regular person... It was our 2nd stay...5th time to Jamacia...Best resort we have stayed at on the island. AMAZING RESORT! Don't pay attention to petty reviews.

Great staff here. We have mostly stayed at 5 star places. There are some differences though. I wish the room had a fridge, and that our room was further from the noisy road. Also, late at night snacks are limited to hot dogs and hamburgers. The bed was more comfortable than home. The property is very small, but overall we would go back.

We visit this fabulous spot every year and it just keeps getting better---- the staff are so friendly and will do their best to make your stay pleasant. there is always jamaican food on the menu and it is excellent---- we love the little cottages---your own personal space with hammocks and beautiful gardens There are lots of activities and if you are feeling adventurous, there are lots of tours to take you around this beautiful island.

I was recently fortunate enough to attend my daughter's destination wedding in beautiful Jamaica. I arrived at the Royal Decameron in Runaway Bay the day before the wedding and I couldn't have been more pleased. The staff was beyond friendly and helpful and my ocean front cottage was absolutely Perfect! While some may describe the accommodations as a touch rustic compared to the ostentatious flare of more upscale resorts the decameron is clean and comfortable and the ideal place to relax. I highly recommend a seaside massage Vanessa was a miracle worker and managed to get whatever knots the sun sand and surf had not removed. I found the decameron by chance and necessity but I know it will be my vacation destination of choice the next time I come to Jamaica.

This resort was recommended to me by a friend. It was very relaxing, and very comfortable and clean. Although it rained for a lot of the time, everyone seemed to make the most of it, and still continued with entertainment and excitement. Whenever we had any questions or concerns, the staff were friendly and prompt in resolving anything.

Quiet resort. Just what the doctor ordered. Service was great. Entertainment was great and varied Rooms were clean Grounds well manicured Friendly staff and very attentive We found that the food wasn't as varied as was last year. The only issue I had is the staff that aren't very generous when they are serving portions i.e. Roast beef or chicken. Very niggly

The resort was beautiful the grounds are meticulous and the little bungalows we found so quaint and charming. We were so amazed by all the birds and different plants in the garden my daughter got to pick a banana from the tree and get a coconut as well! We loved our stay here and will definitely return! The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious! The entertainment team go above and beyond to keep you busy and entertained the entire time! I have nothing negative to say about Royal Decameron Club Caribbean!!

Loved the layout of the resort/ huts, public areas are kept clean. Staff are friendly, awesome nightly entertainment and variety of food/ different theme every night was great! Disappointment was the beaches/coves, small and rocky- only reason why I wouldn't return to this specific resort.

This was our second visit to this resort (we were there last year). The food, people, rooms (a little dated but keep very clean), grounds, etc. all excellent. Such a great atmosphere for a week of relaxation !! We highly recommend this resort !

Great location buildings are now aged and needs updating . The Bath tub and vanity drains drains very slow, they both need cleaning or unclogging. Clogged drain can be contagious and create an atmosphere for the growth of bacteria. The sent of garbage and sewer is not pleasant as you walk the North West side of the property . The Gardens are well kept hats off the landscapers & Gardeners. House keepers very friendly and pleasant . Front desk staff, wonderful service, they are just great . Dinning room staff some what rough could be more refined and be more attentive to their tables and spend less time chatting in groups of three or more . What I really don't like as a black person is that they seemed to be more attentive to the whites than the we the black people their own colour . I am not sure if it's because they think they may not get as much tips. If this be the cause they need to be inform that we all have paid for service in the package that we bought. Tipping is optional and it's base on the service you received . If I have to wait for a glass of red wine after asking two different people and was never ask again if I would like another. This was my 4th stay at the Decameron and this was my worst experience not to speak of my two cousins whom I introduced to the Decameron as a place to stay while visiting Jamaica . Food I must give the Chefs complement for what they are able to do with what they have to work with . There is a great amount of recycled items which after 6 days my system can no longer absorbed. The meat items are of the medium to low end cuts. no Prime rib of Beef , roast Duckling ,filet mignon, lamb chops , lobster , Shrimp, Coquille St Jacque , Charge a bit more if need to . Over all for me it's about the location and my needs doing business between Browns Town, Minard and Runaway Bay it's just the right fit for a business trip. Satisfactory meals and clean bed at night.

This was our first trip to the Royal Decameron, while we did have a great time there was definitely improvements that's needed. I found the staff to be generally helpful, entertainment was great. I loved watching Freestyle, you can definitely tell he loves what he does. I also have to say our Air Canada Rep, Cleveland, was such a great guy. He goes out of his way to ensure you have a great time on the tours booked. The improvements I would have to say centers around the room, while they were well maintained, the lack of a bathroom door was a bit problematic. Renting the safe at $2US a day, (while it's not a lot) it should have been included since it's not inexpensive to stay this hotel. Overall, it was a wonderful trip and I truly enjoyed our time at Decameron.

The resort was beautiful service was great rooms are gorgeous the only thing I would suggest is to put Slippery When Wet sign on the piers where gazebo I fell my first day my first day and broke 3 ribs so needless to say I to go again very soon

over all the resort was awsome the grounds maintaned perfect beaches were good lots of life gaurds food was fantastic the entertanment was good music was good hotel staff was perfect i would go there again in a heart beat cause i had a jamaicin good time

My husband and I have travelled a lot over the last two years to Jamaica and Cuba and this was our best trip so far. The food, beach, service, bungalow and ambiance of this resort is just amazing. We will definitely be back. This trip blew our expectations out of the water. We went to relax and enjoy and that's exactly what we got. We went on a 4 day long weekend trip and next time we will be coming for a week at least. I wish I was still there.

Wow, not sure where to start, as it was as fabulous. This resort was exactly what I expected from reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and is definitely more than a 3 star. This was our first trip to Jamaica and we were totally impressed. The food was unbelievably delicious, especially the jerk chicken (at the resort and at Scotchies, a must go to restaurant). Food was plentiful and a good variety, served by such friendly staff. There was always a smile from staff. The A La Cartes, Thai and Caribbean, were very delicious. We liked the idea that you had the option to reserve more than the usual 3 times you see at other resorts. We loved the cottage idea, as we felt like we were camping so to speak. It was more private and less noise associated with a motel style room. The rooms as noted by others are dated, but are kept very clean. Always plenty of clean towels daily. The grounds were beautiful and kept in great shape by the groundskeepers. Wifi reception was great. We were able to access it in our cottage, on the beach, at the buffet, just about anywhere on the resort. Never an issue logging in or out. There are four beach cove areas to choose from, so lots of room to lounge and swim. There was an overabundance of loungers, which I have never seen before. It was nice not having to get up early to snag a lounger. This resort was in close proximity to several excursions and shopping. We did the Dunn's River Falls and Blue Hole and Secret Falls excursions. Both were great, but we enjoyed the Blue Hole and Secret Falls more, as there was more to do (ie. jumping in, rope swing, etc.), more leisure time. The only down side with Dunn's River Falls, is the exit from the park is through lots of vendors, directly through them, no way around, and you really get pestered. I'm all for vendors, but say in a separate section to one side so one can choose to visit them, not be steered directly through their path to exit the park. Because of this I would not return to Dunn's River Falls. There was no problem with this at Blue Hole. Overall this resort is excellent and we are thinking of booking there again next year!

We have been to Jamaica several times and the Royal Decameron was the best by far! We found the resort to be clean and the staff extremely friendly. The bungalows are great! We loved ours! Housekeeping did a great job, changing linens every day and the best crisp white sheets I've ever seen at a resort! The food was really good, great variety, too bad mangos were out of season when we were there! The beach is raked everyday and the grounds and maintenance crews are constantly keeping up with everyday demands. All in all.... we are definitely going back!!!

We stayed April 19th-26th The resort was nice. We stayed in the cottages they were pretty decent. The bathroom could use updating but manageable. The food was excellent something different every day Staff very nice and accommodating. Had some fun nights at the swing bar Drinks were great. Would definitely stay agian at this resort.

The royal decameron Montego bay was beautiful amazing ground .clean , staff was amazing friendly. My bungalow was always clean aways clean towels and soap, showtime was exciting and entertaining .I will most definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone

The place was a little run down, the staff weren't very friendly which was odd for Jamaica. Didn't care for the food and they wouldn't let you take good back to your room. The beach looks nice but you can only walk out about 15 ft and it was all rocks, nobody was swimming in the ocean which sucks. I wouldn't go back, and Aruba sounds awesome! Always wanted to go there

My husband and I arrived in Jamaica on Mar 7, 2015, for a one week vacation at the Royal Decameron Club Caribbean.  We booked a gardenview cottage, with king sized bed and mini-fridge in our room as special requests. I am mid-forties and he is in his early 50's.  We booked our trip through Trip Central in Bedford, NS.  We normally stick to mid to large size 4.5 to 5 star resorts but were looking for a completely different experience this year.  The opportunity to stay in a bungalow sealed the deal for us going to the Royal Decameron Club Caribbean. The ride to the Resort from the airport was about an hour and 20 minutes, including a stop to drop people off at the Bahia.   We arrived at the Royal Decameron around 12:30, so our cottage was not yet ready.  The front desk desk did all of the normal check in things to get us ready for when our cottage became available.  At checkin we paid $20.00 for 24 hours of internet (you spread this out over the week by logging in and out), $14.00 for a safe for the week and $35.00 to have a mini fridge in our cottage.  Front desk staff was excellent, not only during checkin but anytime we went up through the week.  They were attentive, friendly and always made us feel like a valued guest. We then went off to have lunch and explore while we waiting for our room.  We went into the buffet where it was clear to staff that we were new.  We were given a little tour of the buffet and everything was pointed out to us.  First time anywhere that has happened.  Really felt good and lunch was good to! First impression was of a very clean, very friendly and beautifully landscaped resort.  Size wise it was a fair amount bigger than we had anticipated it would.  For a small resort it is well spread out. At around 2:00 we decided to take a chance and see if our cottage was ready, it was.  We were promptly escorted to cottage 132.  The cottage was fantastic, so rustic.  The main area is large with a bed, dresser, two small tables, chairs and a sofa bed/futon. You also have a flat screen TV.  The closet (the safe is in here as well) is a good sized walkin area.  The bathroom is roomy with a large shower.  You have two adirondak chairs outside on the patio as well.  These are cottages, they are not super fancy but they are perfect for the feel of this resort.   The maid did a wonderful job of keeping our cottage clean and stocked.  She never missed an opportunity to wish us a good morning.  Our room was cleaned by 10:00am everyday. We ate lunch at both the Jasmine Delta and the buffet.  Both were good, jerk chicken wings were awesome!  Breakfast was in the main buffet and was excellent.  The actually had someone manning the bacon station, which we thought was a great idea.  Never once did we have to worry about not getting any. There are two a la cartes, we only tried the Jasmine Delta, Thai one.  My husband had the Pad Thai and I had the beef teriaki.  Mine was very good, his not so much.  After that we just stuck to the buffet which was good most nights. There are lots of place to get drinks and lots of non-alcoholic choices.  The drinks are all very good, as is the beer.  They definitely don't water anything down here and my hubby was thrilled that they had Pepsi! The beaches were very nice.  It was very windy while we were there so the water was quite stirred up and wavy as would be expected.  The water was still nice to be in.  We never needed our water shoes for the beach.  The beaches were clean with lots of loungers available all the time, and the resort was full while we were there.  Really really nice to go to a resort where the towel game wasn't played at all.  Anytime of day we could have had a lounger at the pool or beach.  Shaded or not shaded didn't matter, you could always find one. The pools were smaller but we weren't there for the pools so it didn't matter to us.  Lots of pool floaties if you wanted as well.  We swam up at the quiet pool once just to say we did.  We spent a lot of time hanging out at the main pool where there was plenty of seating and the entertainment took place. There are also tennis courts, basket ball, shuffleboard, giant chess, a gym and a kids club.  There were very few young children at the resort and we didn't see anyone using the kids club.  There were also massages down at a gazebo on the beach. There was nightly entertainment outside the resort and we could hear the music but by then we were so tired it didn't matter.  This is Jamaica and the people love their music so we have to respect that they too like to let loose in the nights.  We are just visitors. The entertainment crew at this resort is spectacular.  We had so much fun with them, watching them and because of them.  They truly made this a vacation we won't forget.   All of the staff here is friendly, welcoming and just gives you a feeling of belonging.  It is different then any other places we have ever been.  It is a feeling that is hard to put to words. Prices at the gift shop were reasonable for most things when we compared them with other places. I had no issues exchanging my Canadian dollars for Jamaican dollars at the front desk or using Canadian dollars when that was all I had on me. We only did one organized excursion, just had too much on the resort.  We did the Chukka Catamaran.  It was a blast! We met so many great people and had such a great time!  I know this is classed as a 3 star resort but we truly had a 5 star experience and I would take that over a 5 star resort with a 3 star experience any day!   This is one resort I know we will be back to! If you are looking for the marble and glam of a big resort this may not be for you, but if you are looking for a laid back, relaxing and friendly experience this is perfect.

Upon arriving at the reservation desk we were immediately disappointed to be told that Upon arriving we were told that our reservation was being changed until at least the next day as the garden bungalow reserved was not available. This was a complaint come to reality that was mentioned as common practice at this resort in many reviews we had read before coming here. The apparent upgrade was nicely furnished and large, but the constant barking dogs and extremely loud music all night long made sleep an impossibility. the next morning, after complaining again, we were told to come back in the afternoon - at that time we were transferred to a garden bungalow. After that things picked up: staff was overall very accommodating, food at the Seafood, Thai, and buffet restaurants was amazing, weather was fantastic, beach was acceptable - however, the bottom is quite rocky(wear water shoes) and the water at this time was very cloudy or sandy making snorkeling, which we truly enjoy, impossible.

Grounds were well maintained, rooms were clean, a la carte restaurants were tasty - would love to have more than 2 to choose from but they were good. Disco was closed every night until the show put on by the hotel was over, then most guests returned to their rooms with some staying at the bar outside. Disco was empty every night which was disappointing. Would be nice to have the option of seeing the show (mediocre) or going to the disco instead. Great place to stay for a first visit, value was good for the price, would try somewhere new for the next.

The little bungalows and the site are cute but the beach is really small, the food is average, it is noisy almost 24/7 and the service is average. Wouldn't recommend but some people we meet enjoyed it.

Resort was clean and rooms were simple. Wicker furniture, couple of lamps and a bar fridge. Beds were comfortable, room safe available for $2US daily. Beach wasn't the best, but they were cleaning it every morning. Garden grounds were beautiful, took pride in maintaining property.

I was leery about staying at a 3 star resort as I have always gone 5 star. I must say it was clean, friendly, food was fabulous. It was small but very well kept and we had a great time. I would go again for sure. My only complaint is that the bungalows we reserved were not available to us for the first 2 days of our stay and we were downgraded to rooms. They did make it up to us though and we were very satisfied in the end.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The cottages were quaint and charming, the gardens were beautiful and well maintained, the food at the buffet and restaurants was excellent, and we loved spending time on the beach. The staff were friendly, warm and always ready to help!

Knowing this hotel was not a 5 star, I was still happy with the hotel in general. The hotel was constantly being cleaned and maintain. We stayed in the courtyard room, it was a bit outdated but I didn't really mind since I was going to be on the beach more than in the room. We didn't have hot water on the day of arrival and departure...so ended up taking cold showers out of desperation. Mosquitoes were surprisingly not as bad as I thought...there were a few in the room that we tried to get rid of, but I only got bit once, and it was on the last day I was there. Not sure how the bugs would be in the garden cottage areas. The beach was nice, we went to the first beach the most. I found it had less rocks in the water, stepping on a rock was a pain. Food was good, my favourite was the Jamaican themed meals. They had a snack grill which served burgers, hot dogs, patties, wings. They have tennis lessons, but apparently are not included, the guy doesn't tell you until after you have booked your lesson and show up, and then only teaches one part of the lesson and keeps trying to get you to come back...that was a bit annoying. Right outside the resort there is a strip plaza with a grocery store and gift shops that are ran by the locals. As soon as you step out the gate some of the locals are waiting to sell you weed or what ever other items they have. The resort was about an hour from Montego Bay Airport, the drive wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the scenic drive. The entertainment is excellent. They had great shows and they like involving the guest a lot. I really have no complains about this hotel a side from having no hot water. If you don't really mind having an outdated room, then you will enjoy this resort.

The resort is nice, the grounds are beautiful. We stayed in a garden hut, it was nice but needs some updating and a clock ,coffee maker and mini fridge would be a major benefit as some huts are further away from bar area. Not always the beautifulest walk in the early morning if you have a hangover. But other then that I was just fine. We travelled as a group of 9 and we all enjoyed are stay. Ages range from 9- 62. Most of us in our 30's early 40's. Food was good, and drinks well no complaints there. There is always loungers available on the beach with was also a bonus , you didn't have to run down first thing in the morning to but your towels out. Also the entertainment was ok. There was a couple really good shows. The entertainment crew work really hard, they try to get everyone to participate but don't bug you. Another bonus. They are doing renovations to the bar area and also setting up wifi throughout the resort. The beach areas are nice bigger then what I expected from reading other reviews. I thought it would be a small resort but it's not really that small. We have been on many vacations and we will decently return to this resort again.

This resort is smaller than what we normally go to. Perfect place to sit back and relax not a lot of activities. The bus ride to the resort was slightly over an hour. We did not have a lot of choices on the food although the food was good and plenty of it. You had your breakfast choices, lunch and dinner buffet. The thing we did not like was that the resort allows smoking and there was no designated area. People were allowed to smoke where you were eating which turned us off. The beach was always clean but could not snorkle in this area. The rooms were always kept clean. I would not go back to this resort only because of the size and the smoking issue.

Booked through Tripcentral. Package was by Air Canada vacations. At the Sangster (MBJ) airport the Air Can. rep was easy to spot after leaving customs. If they ask make sure you mention that you're staying in Runaway Bay as there is a Royal Decameron in Montego Bay as well and don't want to be shuttled there by mistake. Airport transfer bus was air conditioned. Transfer to the resort is approximately an hour. Got to the resort around 5pm. They had a drink for us when we got there. Check in was super fast and friendly, Wifi only available in the lobby and you have to pay $5 for an hour at a time or they sell 24 hours of wifi for $20.00. You have to pay for a safe as well. The bungalows are different than your average hotel room which was nice. Feels like you have more privacy. However at night they have these birds that just don't stop making noise until sunrise. Kind of annoying for the wife but I didn't mind and slept well ;) Buffet was small but food was amazing. 8 main dishes, salad bar, dessert bar, grill station. The food was amazing. They also have an omelette station in the morning at the grilling station. They had two a la cartes which you could go to every night if you want, book at the front desk. Again the food and service there was excellent as well. People there are generally super friendly so we tipped as much as we could $1 or 2. And most people can get you "anything" you need LOL On the 4th day the manager came up to my wife and I and asked if we wanted to check out the other Royal Decameron resort at Montego Bay so we agreed. They called us a taxi the resort prepaid for and we were taken over there within a couple of hours.Overall a great experience at Royal Decameron Club Caribbean.

This was not my first trip to jamaica. I have stayed at higher star resorts but by far would prefer this resort over any. It's so chill and relaxed and you never had people hounding you to buy stuff from them. You have your people set up and they try to get your attention but if you say no than they leave you alone but you rarely even got stopped. The resort has alot of things you can do and so much beach area you never have to fight for a chair and you literally could have a beach area to yourself. The staff was absolutely amazing. There are 2 negatives about this resort but they are not deal breakers for me. First is the WiFi is only available in the lobby. This makes it tough because I need the WiFi to use the whatsapp so I constantly had to go to the lobby to check my messages. It's 5 bucks per hour which is not bad at all. And the last thing is I found some staff were showing signs of intoxication while on shift. I'm not going to go into detail on it as I found the staff amazing here. The entertainment crew were so amazing they made you feel like one of them and as a friend. They have amazing talent and put on some of the best shows I have seen. I will definitely be back.

We did travel during raining season( October), so quite a bit of rain, but price was great, the resort grounds were beautiful, snorkeled each cove a lot of sea urchins, parrot fish, black and white striped fish. The food was awesome. We liked the seafood a la carte, the Thai was just so-so. The staff was excellent from maids to servers, to bartenders, grounds and maintenance and the entertainment and front desk. We did not like Air Canada Vacations , the flight no movie unless you have your own device or rent one($10), had to buy food,no duty free on the plane, ridiculous long time getting checked in at airport even though we were there hours ahead , We will Never book Air Canada Vacations again, have has sucess with Nolitours,Air Transit and Sunquest . The Montego airport was brutal waiting to get through customs..three and 1/2 hours in line up like cattle. We didn;t get to our hotel until 6pm . We used the quiet pool it was nice and a bar there also, but the pool closed at 5pm , i did not like that , the adult pool should be open until 7-8pm at least , Especially when it rains so much All and all we loved our gardeview cottage and definatley would return but not with Air Canada Rouge /Vacations brutal......thanks RDC for a great vacation and a special thanks to Devin from front desk and Greg from the a la carte He was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

the people was awesome and very friendly, and a great time, the service was very good, pool and the ground were very clean. food was good. the co ordinated made the stay worth it. very well organized.

I found it hard to believe that this was a *** resort because it was beautiful, extremely clean and well maintained. The staff was amazing. From Silvan at front desk, the great bartenders, friendly and thorough housekeeping staff to the fabulous chef and kitchen staff that made your stay complete. My only complaint was no free wifi. My daughter and I stayed at the Runaway Bay location from July 16-23 of this year. It was beautiful by a little far from the best attractions so consider this when booking your excursions and try to get travel included. If not, ask fot Uncle Bob to take you. I will definitely be going back next year if I can afford it. And a special thank you to Davion fir making my trip extra special. See you all again next year.

I love this place 5th time here . The location is assume you are right in the town with the locals. The huts are amazing if you receive one, however the hibiscus towers are very spacious if your bringing kids. Judith the manager is amazing she will ensure your having a great time. Quit pool is nice and clean the grounds are well kept and food is very good and always hot. Only thing missing is a jerk hut..

We had a quick 4 night stay at the RDCC, July 17th - 21st. We loved every minute of it! We had a garden bungalow, they are great. Very spacious and clean. Staff was very friendly, and entertainment crew certainly lived up to their name. Will definitely return in the future!!
