The resort staff where excellent, food was great, all pools were clean and lifeguards very attentive, rooms were clean and lots of hot water for showering. The beach was free of garbage and you could walk into the water on fine smooth sand. We walked to the two other Decameron resorts nearby and refreshed our thirst while there. There where lots of shops nearby and we could buy anything we needed. Always a nice breeze to keep us comfortable. The best resort we have stayed at in many trips to Mexico.

Hotel was great plus we were able to use the other two Decameron resort sites. Food was good every day, lots of pools to pick from plus they had an adult pool. The entertainment was good and we found plenty to do since the resort was right in town. little confusing at first but once you get the lay of the land it all came together. clean and friendly staff. beach is busy but that’s half the fun. we would go again, fun times.

Extremely enjoyed ourselves, the accommodations were dated which added to the authenticity of the area, but very clean and comfortable. Everything in our room worked including a free safe and fridge and the a/c worked perfectly. The area was fantastic for walking and commuting around, being right in town and all that goes with that and the access to the other 2 Decameron hotels really added an extra dimention to the experience. The food In the buffet was really good and Fernando took great care of us, (excellenti) (also, loved the tequila ha ha!) we had lots of fun with him. The singing egg lady was always nice to see every morning. Pedro, in the alcarts was a fantasticaly friendly guy who had a great sense of humor and wonderful service skills, and we enjoyed the meals at both restaurants. Our chamber maid who kept our room spotless and maintained throughout our stay, ensured we always had everything we needed. The beach was beautiful (you could walk for almost an hour to the river which was wonderful. Even the beach vendors were courteous and didn't hound you. The ocean was calm and shallow to wade into and quite warm. All 4 swimming pools were glistening clean and great to cool off in. Bartenders were all nice to deal with, very friendly and extremely efficient and the beer was ice cold, perfect. Checkin was easy, checkout not so easy, at 6:15 am our arranged departure time, we found the front desk closed. Not sure if our ride to the airport was coming and no one to checkout with. We did get to the airport and all was good. All in all we would return to this resort as we had a wonderful time.

A gentle bay of small waves heights and wide sandy areas. The hotel is a true 3.5 star hotel regarding amenities however serves excellent food and is very clean. The staff is always helpful and very capable. With visitation to the other Decameron properties in Guayabitos included giving a perk to increase variety for one’s trip. Lastly the clientele is 60 percent Mexican and the rest seem to be Canadian.

The beauty of this resort is a great location, and wonderful helpful and friendly staff. Our room was dated but clean. There were plenty of options included in the buffet and the food was always fresh. I loved the fresh guacamole served at the snack bar and opted to eat there at lunch instead of the buffet. The snack bar usually opened around noon and is located behind the main bar by the buffet. We spent a fair amount of time in the bar which is located on the other side of the snack bar area. It is enclosed and in a shady area. This bar was usually quiet with no lineup like the main bar has. We walked to local restaurants for dinner a couple of days. Both Wanda's Burger & Ribs and Mona Lisa Pizza were great off resort meals. We went to two local markets and shopping in the small local stores. Overall we enjoyed our stay and especially the wonderful people!

Decameron Los cocos is 1.5-2 hrs north of puerto Vallarta airport. A very good free tour of country side and towns along the way. Hotel is submerged in Guayabitos on west side. Meals are very good clean rooms and just the rooster calling at 0530 to tell us it is time to go pickleball. We pack a coffee thermos , a covered drinking cup and a large water bottle , get filled at bars or restaurants. No garbage from us made. On the weekends the town comes alive Mexican style with hundreds of nationals vacationing on the coast We sailed two times , kayaked twice and walked the 4 km beach numerous times in between throwing a frisbee. There is no sunrise or set at the cocos hotel. The best is the stay and play at three sister hotels. Alacarts varied throughout the week. The use of washrooms bars and restaurants at all three a very big bonus. Our day started at 0430 , dressed and coffee on board with a breakfast grabbed from buffet the day before. 40 min walk to east side of Guayabitos where a pickleball club is playing at 0630. Very reasonable rates very welcoming. To the hotel. Build a trough at beach to stop sand from tracking everywhere 16 x 4 in deep x12 feet long save water Move bar in snack bar to east wall , feed beach people at side bar stop sand from tracking everywhere. I saw too many windows open drapes open and air conditioner running very wasteful of power The staff are beautiful hard working and very friendly. Loved our stay.

When we arrived we thought maybe we had made a mistake. Building er were originally put in was a block from beach. First day changed rooms. By the end of vacation we rated it up there with some of the places previously stayed at near csncun. Great for kids. No undertow. Water was warm. Coral island had great visibility and variety of fish.

Hotel is slightly dated but very clean and lovely. The staff are incredible! We found the buffet food to be excellent and varied. Only one a la carte due to renovations however it was easy to get a reservation and the food was very good. Gorgeous beach!! Overall we loved this place

It's a colorful place, I hope it stays that way once the renovation is completed. Beach is nice, food is good, atmosphere is friendly. Place is kept spotlessly clean. A bit noisy at times. Can get crowded on weekends.

This is an older resort. The grounds were well kept, clean and constantly maintained. The rooms are okay but in some locations the birds make a mess on the balconies. The rooms were spacious, well cleaned and comfortable. The dining was good. The food is more traditional Mexican which was a nice change. I have dietary issues but there were always options. There was nightly entertainment which was well produced and entertaining. This resort shows its age in some areas but we noticed that they were up grading the doors in some buildings and mattress in others. The staff were accommodating, friendly, and always willing to help. It should be noted that you can use the facilities and the bar at the two sister resorts on this beach. We enjoyed walking the beach and being able to stop for a rest and refreshment on the other end of the beach. It should be noted that this is a Mexican resort, with mainly Mexican clients, a Mexican atmosphere and Mexican is the language most spoken. Many of the staff were bilingual (Spanish/English) and the clients were more than helpful. This is a small town where people are polite and courteous in the streets. This is not Puerto Vallarta or anything like it. We hope to go again soon.

Knew what to expect, have been there 3 times before. The only issue we had was not having any chairs on the beach. Never had this problem before, it seemed half of the lounge chairs were missing. The staff were wonderful as have been every time we have stayed at Decameron Los Cocos. The meals were good always finding enough of the things we like to eat. Loved walking around the main streets and found it very comfortable and safe. The venders down the streets and on the beach are awesome!

We have vacationed at Decameron Los Cocos many times. This was our best experience yet. Our room was fine with a comfortable bed, good pillows, and was clean. Cleaning staff did a good job. Mobility issues were taken into consideration and we were given a room in the in the best location for us. We had a room right beside a pool and my wife used it daily - sometimes twice. The pool was warmer than in previous years. The menu had been changed and food was good. We could always find things we liked. As usual, Flora was cheerful and made great omelettes, with a large variety of ingredients to choose from. Flora remembered us from previous vacations, and was very welcoming. At The Tropical, the restaurant we regularly ate at, all staff were friendly and helpful, especially Jose and Reyna. Not all staff spoke extremely fluent English, but many were trying to improve their English skills. We never had trouble communicating our needs. All staff and management people were very friendly and helpful. The beach was great and the ocean water was very warm. We felt safe and comfortable walking around Guayabitos. The weather was excellent every day. We required help with mobility needs, and West Jet service at the airports, and in the planes was excellent. We look forward to returning next winter.

I have been going here for 10 years I absolutely love this place the staff is amazing a lot have become friends…I know it’s an old resort but was always kept spotless these past few years it has really gone downhill …I wish they would address these issues as you have a great staff ….it makes it hard for them when upper management doesn’t seem to care .. the rooms in building 1 could use some upgrades the curtains didn’t even cover the window and had big holes in it ….the shower heads haven’t been replaced in 30 years I’m sure. All small things to do but nobody’s bothered….even these few small things would make a difference

I suspect the hotel is still recovering from the Covid downturn. The booking system for the 'a la cart' restaurant is on line but the hotel Wi-Fi is so spotty that even though we tried for 8 days there were no seats available. We were told to start trying at 1.00 a.m. when the app. opened for the day ahead. Lineup for the buffet supper (no alternative) started at 6.00 p.m. on the weekends and took 45 minutes to get to the front of the queue. When we were finally seated, the service and the food were good. We chose to eat in the town when the resort was busy. Lineup to get a beer at the bar could take 15 mins. at times. The service was good but the bar is not big enough. Ocean was warm and calm but the beach is very crowded and covered in garbage at the weekends. Pools were clean and warm. Rooms were kept clean and tidy. Biggest irritation was the lack of quiet space. The entertainment volume, both on the beach and in the theatre, was painful at times. Many guests left the shows because of the volume.

Good clean resort. Some buildings are older and some newer. Food isn't the best but it's ok. A la cartes are better. Four pools to choose from including an adult only pool. It is right on the beach and the ocean is fantastic to swim in. Mostly attended by Mexican families when we went in May. A lot of Canadians come here in late and earlier in the year. More restaurants bars etc. are open during this time of year. We have been here five times now and look forward to returning again.

This was our 7th trip to this resort in the past 19 years and we stayed two weeks. Sunwing no longer has a rep there so you are on your own to get information. There have been a few changes even since our last trip there about 4 years ago. The beach club was sold and Decameron purchased two hotels a little further down the beach towards town. They also replaced the garden with a very large grass roof structure for bus reception and combined Cocos 2&5 bar and restaurant. Employees seem new and not as happy as on previous trips. Wait staff in the dinning room were fairly good at snatching dirty plates but failed at coffee, tea and water refills. Room cleaners did their job well. Towel supply was a bit spotty as we were shorted towels a couple of times. Food quality at this hotel over the years has generally increased with every visit. It was disappointing to me to see that this time the quality has gone back to fewer choices and cheaper cuts of meat. We did okay with the usual rice and beans stuff but there wasn't much for variety this round. The tortilla soup, my favorite, was never on the buffet. The a-la-cart was okay but booking it was a nightmare. The booking system would NEVER let you book. We had to complain to the manager who "squeezed" us in to get there. Covid measures during our time there were almost not existent. Saw signs but they were ignored. Food prep wore masks as expected but very few others. Enjoyed the sunshine as the weather was perfect as usual.

2 week vacation in March 2023. Was there in 2020 just before pandemic. Flew Sunwing. New Max8 737 but has no on-plane wifi or entertainment. Bring your own. Beach in front of Los Cocos almost non-existent now (NOT like in the picture) but the rest of the 2 mile long beach is still very nice. It was wonderful that you can use La Marina/ Isla Coral for food/ drink & beach chairs. This was our deciding factor on going here again. 1-1/2 to 2 hour bus ride to resort (yuck). Use the airport bathroom and buy any refreshments from Oxxo in the airport parking lot before leaving. Check-in can be slow depending on how many others were on your bus. English rare at the front desk all the time, but the employees try. Building 4 has lots of steps, far from the beach and not all rooms have view of beach from balcony Busy roadway on backside, but overall quiet compared to many complaints heard from lower units and La Marina/ Isla Coral resorts. Large rooms. Outdated lock & key system and may want to bring a powerbar if you need extra plugins. Food & drink - Enough variety provided between the 3 resorts. La Bamba at building 4 not open for breakfast anymore (too bad). Not impressed with the a la cart's and only used once. Liquor lineups not bad and no complaints on brands or watering down. Beach & activities. Quiet enough weekdays with more sellers than beachgoers. Weekends very busy with 1,000's of locals. Entertaining, but very noisy, even at the resorts. Get your beach chair early. Everyone ignores new no-smoking law. Guayabitos/ La Peneda - Nice walk along one main street but like most areas, watch your step on uneven and holey sidewalks. Most garbage bins overflowing and could benefit with a pickup more than once a year. Large market in La Peneda on Thursdays with venders selling both old and new. Really enjoyed it but a long walk to get there. Monday market at Guayabitos is small with very few deals found. Always felt very safe. I had an issue with swelling bug bites and Kenia helped me find Benadryl at a local pharmacy. Nobody else I encountered had any bites. Very strange. Checkout & Airport. Checkout okay. Bus ride okay. Daytime this trip. Outside Puerto Vallarta is a dumping ground. Stock up on food & snacks even the night before departure. Airport pricing is stupid - 300 pesos for a burger. No water bottle filling and buying a bottle starts at 190 pesos. Overall value - This was best price found over all others for this time period and we knew the beach was very nice. Recommend only if budget is the deciding factor. Will I go there again? Doubt it.

Clean good location. Food is average but ok. Restaurants outside resort much better. You can also go to the other Decameron hotels in Guayabitos. They are a good option when roaming around Guayabitos. They are all inclusive to you as well. La Penita is close by as well. Los Ayala is also near by. Nice weather and very enjoyable. Fresh fish every day if you want.

When we arrived they said they did not have our reservation. So we gave them our paperwork, which they did not return that had our flight tickets attached. It took an hour or more for them to assign us a room, and then the reservation said 4 days which should have been 8 days. We had to be out of our room by noon on check out day even though the bus did not pick up until 2 pm. Staff that did speak English were pretty good but they’re were not many.

Decameron Los Cocos resort was in a town called Guayabitos which is about an hour and a half from Puerto Vallarta so it’s awesome if you want to be away from busy tourist centre. Beach sand was very soft not rockey at all water was calm and you can swim in small waves which was very nice. It is a very nice location surrounded by Jungle however most people don’t speak much English even resort staff didn’t speak much English. The staff work hard to keep the place clean. Food is typical of an all inclusive not much variety but good if your not to fussy. There are lots of little restaurants along the beach to try if you get tired of resort food. Alicias was a very good restaurant that we went to and she even organized an awesome fishing trip and cooked up our catch of fish which was delicious. Very authentic Mexico. We were in building 4 adult only building and our room was very big which was awesome. Water in shower smelled a bit funny at times and I had trouble getting it to maintain a constant temperature but it did have good pressure. Maid cleaned room everyday and provided bottled water. I didn’t use pools so I cannot comment on them but they looked clean

The food was average, service was great, activity people were fantastic, Fernando is the best and Antonio the server was great! Activity people all need to be on the same page about rules and guidelines, they would all say something different. Rooms were ok, maintenance needed to come faster and under the beds need to be cleaned out. Would recommend for a family only. No nightlife for young people.

This resort was clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. The shows were entertaining and included a lot of audience participation. I did not like the fact that almost everything was in Spanish very little English even thought there were a lot of English speaking guests. We also liked the fact that we were close to the town and could walk to shop. The beach was great, warm for swimming and fun to just people watch. There were a lot of vendors but they did not bug you, all you had to do was say no or shake you head no and they would leave you alone. The only thing that I did not like was that by 10:00 am all the beach chairs were marked as taken so it was very difficult to get a seat on the beach. There were also a lot of activities for individuals of groups to participate in. Food was plentiful and a good variety. I would go back again.

Overall pleasant experience. Food, fairly good, room big, comfortable and clean. Grounds, well maintained. Staff, work hard and friendly. Irritations, we had to buy our own tonic water as the upstairs bar seldom had any. Ridiculous method of reserving a table at the a-la-cart restaurants which required joining a lineup at 7.30 a.m. to get a numbered card to make the reservation at 8.00 a.m. Didn't bother. The bikes are only available for guided tours twice a week. Not allowed out on your own to explore.

When we arrived we were treated to a drink & given a key to our room to see if we liked it. We loved it! Ocean view, large room 2 beds for 2 ladies & a couch. Spotless clean washroom too. All we would need for our week. The staff, polite & easy to make our stay a fantastic one! The pools were clean. Food was delish! We were down at the ocean many times swimming & it was cleaned daily in front. The only problem was that early in the morning, towels were being put on chairs & left all day wit nobody there! Irritating! The area was very safe for 2 ladies to walk & go shopping in the village. We loved it. 5 stars from me & I will be back!

I always read reviews before a trip so we are well informed and prepared. The resort was pretty much expected but we did upgrade our room a day after arriving. The supersaver room is super small with no balcony. We moved to building one which is the perfect location. No extras like blow dryers and ironing boards and an iron have to be requested. Resort was clean and was our room and the food in all the restaurants was super good. Always a lot of selection and tastey. The pools were super cold and the beach was busy but those were all things we had read about previously. We met some great people and overall.had a decent trip. I don't think we will return because it's just a busier beach than we prefer and the loungers are not at all comfortable. It will be interesting to see what the two new resorts will be like. We felt safe walking around town and in the area.

Wonderful food and beach. Friendly people around us and colorful culture. Good arrangement for the transportation and management of hotel. Convenient facility and interesting and funny activities with friendly staff.

The rooms are very clean resort is very close to the beach the staff are super friendly and the food was amazing They also have great enertainment at night i would definetly book a stay there again the only thing i didnt leke was the hour and a half ride to the hotel

Los Cocos is perfect for families wanting a true beach experience. The water at the beach is gentle and shallow with a sand bottom. There's also a selection of pools if the beach isn't your thing. The food is well prepared, delicious and varied. All employees were very genuine and friendly and very willing to make your experience an excellent one. The grounds are beautifully landscaped with a lovely selection of mature specimens. I really enjoyed my time at Los Cocos and I would love to return.

This hotel is an old joke. The superior rooms are worse than the regular rooms. Not a single thing about it was good. Food, service and accommodation are one star at the best. The beach in front of the hotel was clean. Don’t waste your money.

This property is very well maintained. The gardens are beautiful and the whole property is kept very clean. The food at the buffet was amazing. Didn’t bother to go to the a La Carts. Our only complaint was the rooms don’t have fridges and you have to sign to get a hair blower in your room. Otherwise the rooms were spacious and comfortable. I would definitely recommend and go back to this resort.

This is a small and basic laid back all inclusive with a strong Mexican feel. If you're accustomed to a five star luxury hotel, you may be disappointed. The rooms are plain but clean. Food is excellent with A La Carte Mexican, and Steak House restaurants. The beach is busy but the vendors are respectful. The Beach Club offers a beautiful, quiet clear water beach. The pools are clean. No long line ups anywhere. The village is safe and you can take long leisurely walks on the beach or through the village. Perfect holiday if you are looking for a comfortable, clean and accommodating resort. We had a wonderful relaxing week. The staff and guests were friendly - no pretences or pressure to dress or behave a certain way - you could just be your self and enjoy the Mexican sun and hospitality. Third time visitor.

We stayed in Building 4 from March 04th to the 20th Pro's -Great food, great variety and lots of it -Very clean rooms and resort -Very well maintained - Rustic old Mexico feel and atmosphere - Smaller resort (240 rooms) -Very friendly and helpful staff -Modello light and dark on tap (I hate Corona) -Enough Palapas on the beach for shade Con's - You have to pay 85 pesos per day to use the in-room safe (Money grab) -Loungers are terribly hard and uncomfortable. Should upgrade to the mesh type - Sometimes hard to get change from the front desk for tips - Nightly shows start at 9:00 P.M. which is a little late for us old people :) -No early morning coffee available near building 4 - The umbrellas around the pools are immovable so sometimes hard to find shade Tips -Don't sit under the trees on the beach for shade unless you like the birds pooping all over you (But some say this is good luck :)) -Bring or buy an air mattress for the loungers (100-150 pesos if bought there) -Book tours through Alicia's on the beach (The same or cheaper than at the hotel) -Restaurante de Mariscos Pineda & Wanda's Burgers and Ribs (Mushroom Burger) are both great places to eat

This was our first time to this resort. Staff were amazing! They were friendly and always available to help even if their English was not so good. We went on a TranSat tour of a little coffee plantation, a leather factory, a OLD Catholic church while in Compostela. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Drove thru the mountains, stopped at a fruit stand, and ice cream shop and ate at a mexican restaurant in Compostela. We went on the resort's catamaran, rented a seadoo from someone on the beach ($40US or 700 pesos), swam in the ocean, enjoyed the buffet meals, walked a lot exploring the little town of Rincon de Guayabitos and all its little shops. Enjoyed the true Mexican town while staying at a resort, much better than going to a large resort where everything is totally cement, manmade, and 'perfect'. The market in Guayabitos takes place each Monday. Prices are often up to double for the same item that you will find at a little shop on the street. Vendors at the little shops will often lower their prices that day. When buying vanilla go to the grocery store (145 pesos for a 1 litre) rather than buying at the market (300 pesos) or buying at the airport (double that yet or more!) The resort was very clean, weather was perfect, ocean was warm for swimming, and the food was good!

We were pleasantly surprised of this resort..quaint smaller town..beautiful beaches...gorgeous bay for full time ocean swimming...never too windy...more than enough things to do The resort itself was extremely clean..had entertainment every nite as well as different intervals during each day...staff were wonderful...helpful and just beautiful people We're looking to return for a longer time next year

This hotel was very clean! Check-in was smooth and efficient! The buffet staff was extremely friendly and attentive to ones needs. Buffet was okay - always found something to eat! Salad bar never disappointed with variety. Bar service was good. The pools were always inviting. Beach was clean and always activities going on. Really liked how vendors set up each night.

A hotel room with no Kleenex? Good thing the OXXO was right there so I could buy some. In what universe does a person not need Kleenex? Having said that, the place was lovely. We started out in one of the new supersaver rooms. New is an overstatement. They are cobbled together with pieces from other hotels and probably recycled stuff. For instance, the mirrors were antique and the doors didn’t fit the openings. Kudos for environmentalism. Reuse and recycle! Our next room was also in building 2 but the old part. It was lovely. The beach was amazing and all the pools are great. The loungers could have been more padded. I’m also puzzled by the lack of poolside servers and the fact that you couldn’t eat at the pool, but you sure could smoke at the pool, right under the sign that said no smoking. Food was buffet. Say no more.

The hotel was keep very clean and things fixed when needed.The grounds were beautiful.Theres a private beach that you can get bused to that is very quite and relaxing.The hotel is very old but keeped in good running order.

We thought we were going to be staying at the Royal De Cameron, but what a great ending to what we thought was going to be a bad experience. We ended up at your hotel instead. You have the most amazing beaches! The most amazing food and the most amazing staff! We will definately come back again!

On January 1, 2019, my husband and I checked into our all-inclusive hotel chosen for us by our travel agent , Felicia Grasso from tripcentral.ca.. Neither of us had been on a tropical vacation since the mid-1980's and we were overwhelmed by the options and information we found on the internet. I called tripcentral.ca and spoke with Felicia Grasso and communicated what we wanted and needed as well as our time frame and budget. She confidently said 'leave it with me and I will get back to you before 7pm tonight' which was in less than 4 hours. She called back in good time with our itinerary including preferences as well as suggestions she had made on our behalf - and by 7pm we were booked and paid for. Fast forward to one week post return and both my husband and I can say it couldn't have been a more perfectly wonderful vacation or destination. It was my desire to visit La Penita where my mother had often stayed when she was living and I wanted to experience what had drawn her there but only knew the name of the town and was ignorant of its whereabouts. Both my husband and I were concerned about our health and well-being while traveling to unknown territory and it turned out that Felicia's recommendations and suggestions were ideal. We stayed at The Hotel Descameron Los Cocos in Rincon de Guiyabidas, an oceanside all-inclusive resort near enough to La Penita that we could either cycle or taxi there from our hotel in less than 20 minutes. As well as cycling, we enjoyed daily walks and swimming, resting and sleeping, eating, reading, dancing, exploring, snorkeling, boating, hiking, shopping, and making friends wherever we went either at the hotel or out and about. The atmosphere, the ethos of the community within both the hotel as well as in the townships of Guayabidas and La Penita was warm and welcoming and felt safe. The hotel was incredibly well managed and staffed. My husband and I both commented several times that it operated like a well-oiled machine 24 hours a day and met all our physical needs beyond either of our expectations as well as offering a variety of entertainment and services besides the impeccable maintenance of our rooms. The staff were excellent and so very kind, gracious and helpful. Drinkable water was always available and we were made to feel at home and welcome at all times, day or night. We fully intend to return and have enjoyed sharing our amazing adventure with our friends and family. We highly recommend Felicia's services via tripcentral.ca and not only thank her for the trip of a lifetime, but fully intend to book with her again.

This resort was pleasant quite and very clean even with the constitutions going on, the staff was always their for us and we also had the Transat rep. Agustin and his friend for tours and informations. We did enjoy our stay with the Decameron Los Cocos

This resort has been gradually upgraded since we were there three years ago. Everything was great including the food and drinks. Employees were also as good as we have found at any resort. Hector and Noel in particular. We chose the Supersaver room so it was a bit small but well kept and the maid service for the room was great. No shortage of water and it tasted great throughout the restaurants and bars and plenty of bottled water supplied for use in our room. No sickness or upset stomachs through our 2 week stay. The Beach Club was also very nice with a great beach and food/bar/washroom set up for use during the day. 15 minute walk or short bus ride provided there and back every day, no charge. I recommend the resort sets up a better system for providing change easily for guests for tipping and also provide a reciprocal free day pass agreement with The Royal Decameron in PV to allow guests to try it out and possibly book there as well in the future. That would make for a nice day excursion.

We enjoyed our time at Decameron Los Cocos very much. The food and staff were great, the rooms were a little dated but very clean. There were many Mexican families at the resort and sometimes it got a little noisy but all in all it was a GREAT experience. If you want to see some of REAL Mexico this is the place to go. Great beach to walk on and Rincon de Guyabitos was a tipical Mexican resort town.

3 star hotel and resort, good cheap vacation and would recommend people going here as a money saver. The resort was aright and the food was basic but a lot of fun for someone who wants a cheap vacation to Mexico and likes the good weather.

This is the best vacation that we have had yet. The resort itself is well kept and the rooms were very clean. Love the adult pool which is a plus. The food was okay but we got by just fine. The people in the town are very friendly. We felt totally safe there.

Beautifully manicured lawns and palm trees greet you, waiting for you when you get off shuttle is an ice cold cervaza or margarita 😍, most friendly staff, accommodating clean rooms, good food, great drinks, I could go on......

This was our second trip to this location and hotel and we weren’t disappointed. Although listed as a 3 star hotel probably because it is an older hotel, we cannot say nice enough things about the cleanliness and especially the staff. They are wonderful in all respects. Although there is only 1 buffet restaurant and 1 à la carte, the varied selection of food was surprisingly good. There was a different ‘food’ theme each night going from Italian to Asian, BBQ, International and Mexican. Being in proximity to the town of Guayabitos allowed us to also explore outside of the perimeter of the hotel. We would definitely go back and recommend this destination. Regards, Linda Rabey

Hotel was old but it was great - friendly and b]very help-full staff. great activity, only issue we had was that the room we stayed in ( room 3301) the air condition switch wasn't working , we had to climb on one of the beds to press the air on .... ( I understand from another Canadian tourist that the switch hasn't been working for past two years.... this is not a complain as we didn't really have any issue with the air it self

This resort is extremely clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and went the extra distance to make sure our stay was a very enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and of excellent quality and presentation. The beach is the best in town and the resort offers free daily transport to and from a quieter beach nearby. It is a short walking distance to shopping and the market. This resort is suitable for everyone.

Beaches are amazing. You could walk 5 miles a day. Air Tramsat rep Vincent was awesome. Food was great and atmosphere was so relaxing. Bang for your buck. Nice break to split it up at the end and go to Decameron in Bucerías if you are a younger generation. No complaints

Decameron resort has nice, clean rooms, very friendly staff and great service. It’s location in guayobitos is perfect; close to other towns and different tours. I went on the tequila town excursion and it was a great two days.

This is an update of a review I wrote a year ago. We are just back from three weeks at Los Cocos, for my third visit and my wife’s second and we will go back, hopefully for longer next time. This is an older hotel in five buildings. Road construction has been completed, but it was still over an hour from the airport. The guests are either older Canadians or Mexican extended families. Many are repeat visitors. The rooms are basic, but clean. The beds are hard but comfortable. Water was hot. Building 1, 2 and 5 (newly constructed) are on the beach, 3 is across the road (but has larger rooms) and 4 is up the hill and has the superior rooms. Check in and check out were quick and easy. The wifi is considerably better than last year. It is free, and available in the lobbies of buildings 1 and 4 at least, and works around the pool in building 1 as far as La Iguana bar. The main buffet restaurant is excellent. There is good variety and food is generally tasty. Fish and pork are always available and usually chicken. Beef is sometimes on the menu, but is sometimes tougher than we are used to in Canada. There is always some Mexican food, which we found usually to be the best choice. The food is warm but rarely hot. The coffee is much better than last year and is available from early morning until mid evening. The second restaurant has reopened for breakfast and dinner most days of the week, and the snack bar has a limited selection from late morning until around 5:00 including burgers and fries. The menu at the second restaurant is more limited than at the main buffet, consisting of mainly Mexican food. Very nice empanadas some evenings and always freshly done taco fixings. I ate dinner at the à la carte restaurant once and it was a very nice meal, although perhaps not worth getting up early enough to reserve as the food in the buffets is always good. It is a bit of a climb (about 30 stairs) up from the lobby. The lunch buffet there is more limited than at the main buffet, but I thought the food a bit better. Soups were always good. The latest the restaurants are open is 10:30 at night, but from 7:30 in the morning until then, food is always available. There are three bars, open from 10:00 a.m. on. The main one is La Iguana which is across from the buffet along the beach. Los Pelicanos is also on the beach but quieter. There is another at Cocos 4 which we stopped at on the way to lunch at the upper restaurant and I never saw anyone sitting there. The disco serves drinks after the other bars close until 3:00 a.m. The beer on tap is Modelo (Clara and Negra) but they also have Corona in bottles and the rum is Bacardi. My wife tried five types of tequila and there may be others she didn’t. There is a selection of other liquors. The beach has a constant flow of walkers and vendors. It is about 30 minutes to walk to the far end where a stream bed divides Rincon de Guayabitos from La Penita. The beach is fronted by restaurants, trailer parks and hotels. Few of the hotels are higher than four stories and most seem to host Canadian seniors in large numbers. Lots of beach vendors sell everything from food (shrimp, fish, ceviche, nuts, candies) to inflatable beach toys, clothing and handicrafts. Pretty much anything can be bought on the beach, although probably at a higher cost than at one of the many shops in town. Pesos are preferred, but Canadian or U.S. dollars can be used. Canadian dollars can be exchanged at the hotel but at a poor rate. There are at least four ATMs within a ten minute walk, but the service charge is 109 pesos according to someone we spoke to, so best to bring pesos from home, or at least make your withdrawals in larger amounts. There is a market in town on Mondays in the main plaza which is worth a visit. Lots of things for sale, from coffee (ground and beans) to leatherwork, tee shirts, table cloths and much more. There is a larger market in the next town on Thursdays (La Peñita). Beach loungers at the hotel are adequate in number but a bit uncomfortable. Some people bring or buy plastic air mattresses to put on them. I paid 120 pesos for mine on the beach and it made sitting much more comfortable. New this year is an adequate number of plastic chairs on the beach. The loungers around the new pool at Cocos 5 are a different style and more comfortable. This year we did go to the beach club once. It is a ten minute bus ride away in the next town. The bus (free) leaves at 10:00 and returns at 4:00, but if you want to go late or leave early you can hire a taxi. There is a sign up sheet for the beach club and if not enough people sign up, it is closed. We didn’t sign up, but just showed up for the bus and had no problems. The buffet lunch at the beach club was small, but the food was excellent, probably the best we had at Los Cocos. The bar selection was more limited, with no draft beer, only Corona, which wasn’t really cold. The beach at the beach club is smaller and the ocean gets deeper closer to shore, so better if you are a competent swimmer that at the hotel where some wading is required to get to a depth suitable from swimming. There are four small pools. All are unheated and shallow (1.5 metres/4.79 feet at the deep end). The ocean is warmer but sometimes rough. The pools are in the centre of the buildings are not sunny all day. A swim in the pools is brisk. The staff was routinely friendly, seemed happy to be doing what they were doing and are hard-working. Someone was always cleaning or painting. Evidently, everyone takes pride in the place. If you are looking for a five-star hotel with lots of amenities, or a hotel with exciting night-life for young people, this is not it. Best for older couples or those just looking for a quiet time away. For us, it was a great place for a holiday.

This hotel is quite a drive North of Puerto Vallarta, just so you are aware. The hotel grounds, buildings, pools and rooms were very clean! The beach was wonderful. It is a fairly big resort at the end of the town Rincón de Guayabitos, which a lovely Mexican town for wandering, shopping and eating local authentic Mexican Street food. The beach is amazing for walking and end to end is Just short of 3k. Breakfast and lunches in the buffet were great, at times dinner was questionable. The snack bar had pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs and all the fixings as well as a few other items.There is one building on the hillside that boasts adult only pool, it may be quieter at this location but there are many stairs and quite a walk to the buffet and beach. We would definitely return to this resort if the price is right.

Old and decrepit. Poorly organized for food service. Food only available at certain times. 2 bars always a line up. Nice beach. Most staff hardworking and friendly. Rated 3 stars but is barely 1 star. Old pool, too cold and in the shade.

Too far from airport. 1.5 hours on bus. Hotel is very old and in need of major upgrades. Extra charge for safe in room. No fridge, hair dryer, ironing board, bedside clock in room. Beds are very hard and all of the furniture is falling apart. Have to ask repeatedly for extra bottled water at front desk. Food is only ok. Buffets have limited hours. Not all inclusive! Beach nice but very busy.

If only for the vibrant colors, this resort would earn the label "stunning." But it deserves this label for many more reasons: the helpful staff, the numerous pools, the fabulous restaurants, and the gorgeous setting on a two km beach. The resort is crowded by other buildings on every side, yet it maintains its character. The five buildings are attractive and the rooms are very clean. The food is delicious and the drinks flow freely. The only drawback was the enormous crowds that packed the beaches of this fishing village over the Easter weekend. This place is incredibly popular. It seems if half of Mexico was holidaying there. Tents were set up right up to the water line, except right in front of the resort which maintains a little privacy that way, so that people could enjoy some protection from the sun and even sleep there. Not a room was available anywhere in Guayabitos during those few days that we were there. The rooms for the most part are small but adequate. Those in Building 4, where we were, are large and less noisy, although one night a band played across the street until midnight. We were there with another couple. The hotel was unable to give us rooms that were side-by-side but were still near each other. The food was excellent and plentiful, even if it was not haute cuisine. All of us enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service was great, with special credit to "Alex" who went over board in her helping us.

Good basic resort. Not quite as clean as everyone seems to suggest but I may be more picky. Maids seem a bit inconsistent at times. Pools are good but the poolside chairs are very uncomfortable.(except cocos 5 pool which has new and better comfortable chairs) Food was the same at almost all restaurants with some differences here and there. Al la carte was better. Bar by the Mexican restaurant was very good and not as busy. Bar by the buffet was not as good and service lacking. Bar at the La Bamba was very good. La Bamba bar also has a cappuccino machine coffee etc. Coffee over all was not fantastic but it passed for us. There are other options nearby if you wish to purchase it. Be weary of the store across from main hotel entrance incorrect change given back from purchase and no prices on most goods in their store.

This was our second stay at Decameron Los Cocos. It is a very clean and well maintained resort. The food was exceptional with a great variety for even the pickiest of eaters. The staff are all very friendly and really go out of their way to make sure everyone is taken care of. The resort caters to families so if you don't care for the sound of children a person would be better off in the adults only building providing you have mobility as there is no elevator but there is a lot of stairs. The evening shows at the theater are extremely well done. We would definitely return for another two week stay!

This was my fifth hot vacation and by far the most fun I've ever had. Mostly because of the company I had but also because of this resort. The food is amazing, the hotel is spotless clean, and the staff are incredible. We made friends with quite a few of them during our stay and they made our stay that much more enjoyable. The entertainers are friendly and talented, the bartenders and servers are so attentive and efficient, and the show staff were beautiful to watch. I also can't say enough nice things about Salvador, the excursion guy. He made the two that we did unforgettable and was a fountain of information (we did sea four fun and Compostela.) I can't wait to come back again!

Second time at Los Cocos. Love the staff, food is good, rooms fine all that. There are a few things that could be addressed that might improve the experience. 1. Enforce no smoking zones. 2. Fix La Bamba Restaurant sign up procedure. People line up to sign up for seating a then a certain group (won't mention which group) of people feel the line up means nothing and butt in to the front of the line and then call their friends up to do the same. With only one a la carte restaurant this means people who have waited get shut out because of those who have butted into line. 3. Move the wrecked boat that has been on the beach right in front of the beach club property in Los Ayala-EYESORE. 4. Improve wifi. Not the end of the world but it wouldn't take much to improve it.

This is a beautiful resort small quiet no lines no trying to find chairs at the beach Excellent food lots of variety the hotel is older but it is very clean. Have traveled extensively in Mexico would put it up against the 4 stars any day People working there are great always singing while they are working did not matter if they were cooking or painting they were also doing reno's when we were there and they were singing too. Loved this place only complaint I had was the coffee but I went accross the street to the oxxo and bought myself a small instant coffee and coffee mate and just got hot water when I wanted a coffee. This is a smaller town so you do need to have pesos not american money also no fridge in the room and no hairdryer but I brought my own hair dryer and they always had fresh bottles of water so we were good I would go back in a minute loved loved loved this place

We have been to Los Cocos multiple times; as have many who go every year for short to long stays. Just driving up to the Lobby is like 'going home'. Throughout the complex we are welcomed back by familiar faces, hugs and handshakes. The warm greetings continue throughout our stays. The food is good; a wide variety of selections to choose from no matter what your preferences. Always fresh and well presented. The desserts are so tempting and delicious.... The service in all areas is outstanding. The Guayabitos beach is another reason we keep going back. There are miles of golden sand to walk on; power walk or stroll. It is also a great place to people watch; especially on weekends when the Mexican families come to enjoy the sand and surf. There are vendors on the beach but they are not intrusive at all. A simple Nada or No, thank you and they move on. The hotel pools are solar heated; cold on a hot body, but kept clean. I prefer a dip in the ocean myself. An evening stroll through town in the evening is delightful. Families gather on the street to socialize and eat dinner.Snowbirds get together in the popular places. As with anywhere you travel, you need to be aware of surroundings. But generally, we feel quite safe out walking. Saying goodbye to our friendds at Los Cocos is the most difficult part of a stay there.

Let me start by saying that I really like Decameron Los Cocos! It is my second visit and I will go back, hopefully for longer than two weeks next time. There is wifi in the main lobby and in the lobby of Cocos 1 but it is incredibly slow and really unusable for much of anything. There are coffee shops and restaurants in the area which have better wifi for the price of a coffee if you really must look at Facebook. I could get e-mail in our room (1108) if I left my tablet on when I went to the beach, so it does work, but extremely slowly. The main buffet restaurant is excellent. There is good variety and food is generally tasty. Fish and pork are always available and usually chicken. Beef is sometimes on the menu, but is tougher than we are used to in Canada. Food was excellent which is unusual in many resorts. The hotel was clean and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. The beach was great to walk and it stretched for a long ways. It was also very warm and gentle to swim in. What was very unique about the location was that it was right in town so lots of opportunity to explore and experience the local culture. Not a fancy hotel but comfortable . Would go back again for sure!

This is a 3 star resort but it is off the charts when it comes to the heart of the resort. Staff is wonderful - friendly and efficient; the resort is older and somewhat shabby in some areas but rooms and grounds are spotless; guests usually return, some many times, and are all so friendly that friendships often continue after the holiday is over; and there is so much to do as the resort is in a lovely small town ( full of Canadians displaying Canadian flags) with small shops and restaurants if one wants a change from hotel food, miles of beautiful sandy beaches which take you on to the next town and with lots of beach side bars and restaurants to enjoy along the way. Evening entertainment is good for such a small resort. The only thing we find lacking is the WiFi which only works in a few places and even then often poorly but a short walk away is a cafe with free Wifi that is always good. We love zlpd Cocos.

This is an older resort with lots of the problems that go with that situation, it is very very clean and under construction so understandably it was noisy at times. The food is what I would describe as slightly below par to good but the steak ala-cart is very good. lots of beach chairs and seating room for the number of people and there is plenty of room on the grounds to spread out. If there is one thing that I disliked about my stay it would be the entertainment this resort has 80% Canadians but the entertainment is mostly in Spanish and much too loud it is turned up to the point of speaker distortion then a bit louder yet and while this racket is going an all of a sudden some kind of band sets up on the beach adding to the noise and at the same time both bars are playing different music at the height of this so called entertainment it is very very loud and annoying. But over all it was a pretty good place to go I personally will not return as I appreciate some thing quieter.

We love this hotel. Clean, friendly, good beach and water to swim. Food was OK too. 90 % people was around 70 years old and very friendly. Show was every day and best what I see in last 10 years. There was not to many kids except domestic kids so I would say it is more for older people resort. Nice walk on beach make your day good start.

Had a very relaxing vacation. If you like a true Mexican experience in a non-commercial town, this is it. Don't bring US dollars, they like pesos or Canadian dollars. Also do not expect a fancy resort, it's a bit dated but the food was good and the rooms were clean. This is the reason they are reasonably priced. Not a whole lot to do there, but there are a few interesting tours and it's very safe to head into surrounding towns for shopping or a meal. The beach was beautiful, the pools were really nice but the adult pool is quiet and freezing cold. Staff is great and very helpful. If you don't like climbing stairs then do not upgrade your room as the building and adult pool are a climb. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation and aren't there to party too hard then this is the best bang for your buck. They also don't tend to jack their prices too much during holiday time.

Had superior room....it was big but stark. It was near the a la carte restaurant that also served brekky and lunch. Location of the room was great....yes some stairs to climb up but much needed "exercise" after all the food! I personally LOVED the food....Mexican food at every meal, no shortage of guack! The buffet also had loads of options at every meal. The staff was amazing. Super friendly and they seemed to actually like their job! Pool looked nice but I'm an ocean gal so spent all my time there. Good amount of beach chairs. Fantastic ocean....not too deep and watching the Pelicans was fun! AND all the stuff you could buy on the beach (donuts on heads)! Overall, the resort was fantastic. I'd book this again in a heartbeat!!!

This hotel is very large and older. The hotel and the standard rooms are well kept and comfortable. We were in building one, which is right on the beach. The main dining room is very well maintained with a relatively varied menu. The bar at the beach was wonderful. And the disco and the patio outside were great...where we could get drinks until 3 a.m. Had a great time. Will gladly go back again.

Colorful resort with very courteous staff. You are greeted with smiles in the morning and throughout the day. The food is great at all their restaurants.Would be beneficial to everyone if more basic English was spoken by more of the staff including the room and bar attendants. Tips should be seen as a bonus to your work and not as a requirement of service. There was one swimming pool that was restricted for adults only at building # 4, but this rule was disregarded by staff after a few days we were there and kids were allowed in it, we felt this wasn't right as we were told it is a more peaceful place to be. There should be cushions available for the pool loungers, otherwise this is a good place for relaxation

Nice small resort located in a small town, friendly staff. Mostly Mexican visitors and very busy beach. Food is average, wine is terrible. Nice beach to walk and ocean is warm and calm for swimming. Vendors are respectful and not aggressive. Would go back, met very nice people.

Have been to Decameron Los Cocos several times and we are very satisfied with the resort. We always stay in the superior rooms, which are a little quieter and have the adult pool. The staff are very friendly in this resort and always make us feel welcome. Lots to do around town with many good restaurants. Sad to leave and will definitely go back.

Decameron Los Cocos is not a new resort. It's not opulent, glamorous or luxurious but it is immaculately clean, the staff are wonderful and enthusiastic and the experience is not that of an isolated resort but a resort in the heart of the country. It was Easter week, so the beach was packed. A little overwhelming at first, but the resort section was private and not over loaded with guests. The remainder of the beach was shoulder to shoulder Mexican vacationers, having a ball. So, if you're looking for the remote, isolated, Mexican beach holiday, this is not it. If you're social and want to have a great time and still be able to relax, this resort is wonderful. We had two kids (12 years) with us and they couldn't have had a better time. And...the food was really great and the beer was real and the poured drinks were not watered down! Grab a free rental bike from the resort and get out to see the town, the strip and the other sections of the beach. It was perfect for the price we paid, which was very affordable. Enjoy!

The food, the service. the staff were amazing. If you can stay at the main resort it has an adult only pool with a bar and restaurant, it is a quaint little fishing village, if you can handle the hour bus ride it is totally worth the ride. the town has lots of shops only a few minutes walk. If you enjoy a larger venue on Mondays there is a market in town. and on Thursdays there is an even larger market in La Penita very inexpensive cab ride. For family's there three pools for the kids and three separate units beach front There is a little bit of everything for everyone.

Clean. Friendly. Awesome staff including our maid who was teaching us Spanish. Beach Club was great. The little town was too cute. Some great restaraunts. Wanda'so, terriakies, tonitas one and two. Very nice place as a whole.

We've stayed at this hotel many times over more than fifteen years and have never been disappointed. We enjoy it for what it is. The staff at Los Cocos are all very friendly, welcoming, and super helpful. Everyone from the managers, to the front desk staff, the restaurant and even the pool and cleaning staff have always tried to do their very best to make our stay enjoyable. Also the fact that everyone tries really hard to speak to you in English making it so much easier to communicate. Special mentions of thanks to Snr.Joquim, Snr. Alfonso, and Borri, our favorite waiter who is a wonderful ambassador for the resort!

I stayed at this resort with my family. I have 2 young boys. 2 years and 3 months. The resort was very helpful with anything we needed. The food was good. Drinks were ok. It is a very quiet resort. The best part about the place is the staff! Always working always cleaning always repairing. They take great pride in their place and it shows.

I enjoyed staying at this resort. It's an older place but keep up very well. Constant cleaning , repairing , painting being done. I noticed some staff are still working that we met from about 8-9 years ago. Must be good for the employees as well.

Overall, not bad. Food was above average for a 3 star, service was great. The La Carte was pretty good and romantic with nice location up on the hill. Booze drinks were OK with lots of fruity options. Try the Banana Mama with real banana blended .What I liked the most about the complex was the versatility and spread buildings. Building 4 was located across the street with a adult only pool and bar,then later night, live entertainment and then later later the disco for the partiers. Apparently nicer rooms too. Building 1 is a five story highrise where the main pool and bar are located and where of the day and evening action is. This is where we stayed and we quite liked it. We had a private balcony in the back and the pool and hallway in the front. By 11pm it was dead quite as the partiers headed across the street to the disco in building 4. Perfect! Beds were a little hard though. In the morning at 9:30, there is a hotel shuttle at the main front entrance that takes you to their affiliate beach club a kilometer away that is still part of the all inclusive. Little quieter, nicer beach for sure, same food and drinks. The other buildings are guest rooms and seemed OK too. Building 2 looked good and had its own little private pool too. The buildings are dated, but the staff is always cleaning and repairing, always! Beach water was disappointing as it was murky and dark, even dirty. Not much beach front, but no shortage of chairs. Many beach merchants!! It was cool to be right in the town of Guayabitos, We explored the town on the free bicycles provided by the hotel. So,overall, it was really Ok and unique. Better than its three star rating, but certainly not a 4 star either.The location is 45 minutes out of PV and very Mexican and jungle terrain, so great cultural and geographical experience. We took advantage of the area and horse back road up in the jungley mountains. Really nice from up there! It should be said too that everyone local there including return tourist report the area is very very safe. From what I saw, I would agree. One thing about travelling to the PV side is the weather and for late December the weather was exceptional with no rain. But for us, the beach is really important and so the aqua blue waters and the white sand of the Caribbean trump the jungle and predictable good weather. Take it all in for what it is worth. From a value perspective this is a solid pick. But if you are used to a 4 or five star traveller, you will not be impressed.

Don`t normally go to 3 star resorts but took a chance on this place because of good reviews and low price. Only our room was 3 star; food, service, entertainment were all as good or better than 4 star resorts we have visited. Town is very quaint. Would definitely return.

Reminiscent of the 1960's Hippie Days, this town is a throw back to that generation. Easy to walk around town or hop on a bus to visit neighbouring towns and markets. Very relaxed place, but busy with weekend visitors from Guadalajara and other cities. The grounds of the resort are well maintained. The rooms are clean but basic and noise filters into the rooms. The a la carte restaurant is just adequate. The buffet restaurants have vastly improved from 3 years ago with daily roast beef, pork, or chicken carved. Beach is small but clean and gentle waters for swimming. Pools are small - did not use them. You get to know the fellow travellers as you sit in the bars by the ocean. Biggest con is the noise - the music and daily activities coordinators insist on blasting the speakers...Very annoying. Get rid of these speakers and it would be a great resort for people looking to relax.

The ground were amazing, park was perfect, all buildings were well maintained and freshly painted, everything was very clean, ponds were gorgeous. Service everywhere was first class, bars restaurants and main office. The festivals were well planned and a lot of fun. Staff worked very hard decorating the restaurants for the festivities and they looked spectacular right down to festive Mexican dress. The variety of Mexican food was over the top but the stews and any of the meats tended to be tough and chewy. We've had mass produced food many times before but this Mexican food tended to be very bland and a lot of the sauces had little or no flavour and very salty. Mexico is a country that has a multitude of herbs and spices but few were used to fortify different flavours. We were placed in a room close to the childrens pool which ment no sleeping in or no afternoon naps. I did go to the office to see if we could be moved but was informed that moving to a different room would cost more money. We had a good week at the hotel and might book again in the future.

This resort is so clean and the staff very helpful and mannerly. The food is good and the adult pool section very peaceful. We originally were booked in a room with two double beds and when we asked for a room with a king size bed we were upgraded to a room near the adult pool and it was great. You get good service at the bars and the La Bamba restaurant was amazing. The beach was very sandy and the water was extremely warm. Their beach club over in the next village (a 5 minute bus ride which was included) was great. They had their own restaurant and bar right there as well. The bathrooms near the beach and everywhere else on the resort were always clean. Walking in the village is very safe and you could always find a good deal. Tuesday night at the show in town has current movies and in English with no sub titles. The only negative comment would be the locals trying to sell you their goods on the beach, but once you said "no" they never tried to continue the "sell". It is a great place for families but it is also a great place if you are a couple.

Super friendly staff always there to help. Everyone had a smile and a hello. The resort is beautifully kept and clean. Small town feel. Perfect place to just go to relax and forget the outside world!!

We had a fantastic time at Decameron Los Cocos. My boyfriend and I (both 22) stayed here for a week in late April. The resort is right on a beautiful beach. Everything is extremely clean, the resort itself is super colorful and cute, and the food is pretty alright. Don't come here expecting a 5-star luxury resort in a gated community - that is not what you get. What you do get is a really cute, welcoming, authentic Mexican-style resort in a beautiful location, with incredibly kind and helpful employees. There are tons of activities to do, the water is warm, there are several pools, and nightly entertainment shows featuring incredible dancing talent! We absolutely loved it here and would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a family-friendly vacation on a budget.

OMG it was awesome - the Staff at the RESORT was GREAT OUR rooms VERY clean and well taken care of - Food was awesome the buffet was very fresh with great selection - Stayed in the Adults only resort !! Very service orientated - had an issue with our Air Cond - within 3 hrs it was fixed - GREAT service !

Decameron Los Cocos is nestled in a quaint little town, we loved from the moment we stepped off the bus. Colourful buildings surrounded by lush tropical trees and flowers, it had a lovely feel. The staff were friendly and so willing to please. The rooms were nice and clean, the food was great, lots of variety and the atmosphere was very Mexican...we loved our stay and will come back again!!!!

This was our first visit to Mexico and we were not disappointed. We thought 7 days of nothing but beach life would be too long but no - it was way too short! The hotel staff are great, the rooms were impeccably cleaned every day. There wasn't a lot of variety in the food but the desserts were amazing! There's always life on the beach, but beware of the vendors. The animation team is fantastic! The evening shows were absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back!

We arrived later in the day so were a little cranky, we were not happy with the location of our room being in building 4, we approched the staff with a request to being placed in a room closer to the beach and they made arrangements for us to be moved into building 1 top floor facing the beach!! it was a 2 bedroom suite with a deck that was bigger than most rooms! The food was Good but the variety was the same the 2nd week. The beach Club was awesome! we really enjoyed that day! We venture out to find the 'Best' fish taco and margs and found both at a little bar in Lapinita called Hymies. Karlas on the beach just up from the De Cameron had the biggest and best coconut shrimp ever, its filled with cream cheese....divine! next to Karlas we found the best burger at Juans and there margs were right up there. Great BBQ can be found at Mr. Ribs.... We did a day trip to the caves booked through Salvadore at the resorts front desk.... highly recommended... it was a full day for 90.00CND and included all your bevies, lunch, transport and equipment. Overall we had a wonderful time and will def be going back to this quaint little fishing village!

We have just returned from a lovely one week stay at Dameron Los Cocos! This was our second visit, my youngest son and I had been there 8 years ago and I had forgotten how wonderful it was! This time our family of 4 went. If you are looking for a very clean and safe 3.5* resort on the beach, this is it! It is a very authentic Mexican resort and every one is very friendly. The food and quantity was very generous, the pools clean and now they even have lifeguards for the pools and beach. During our one week stay we also went snorkeling, rode the complimentary bikes to the market in La Pineta, sailed the complimentary catammaran and rode horseback up the Sierra Mountains. Our rooms in Cocos 4 were spacious, very clean with beautiful views of the bay.We all had a wonderful vacation and look forward to returning again soon!

Resort was well maintained, very clean, staff courteous & helpful. I even liked the quirky arrangement with the resort built into the village and part of the resort across the street. Travel to & from airport was a drawback

Good food and service. Nice beach, but too many vendors, so not relaxing. Communication between Nolitours rep and tourists, poor. Our flight had been delayed two hours and the resort did not inform us, resulting in an unnecessary early departure and a longer wait at the airport. Transportation to and from the resort, deplorable.

From the minute we arrived at the resort we had excellent service. Staff are amazing! From Adrien when we arrived to Bory and Letanya at the La Bamba restaurant, to Gabriel at the private beach club, so friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and no shortage of choices. Would recommend this resort and would return. Very family friendly and clean. Beach was very good for swimming. Probably one reason it isn't rated as a 5 star is because it is an older resort.

the staff were great and very informative, the grounds well kept, the beach was nice, food was good and lots of variety, rooms well kept, always hot water and bottled water in rooms. Never had to ask twice for anything the staff were all very accommodating.

Hotel amenities are basic and simple, kept immaculately clean several times a day. Bicycles are rudimentary, kayaking disappointing as restricted swimming area, sailing cat only available for 1/2 hr with assigned skipper. Food very good (not fancy), but tons of fresh veggies, lots of fish, polo. Be prepared for lots of noise. Beach club located over hill in next village well worth the hike or shuttle.

As always, I enjoyed the Decameron Los Cocos immensely. The food seems to get better every year. This time, we had a lot of rain. But, no problem, entertainment by Karioki in the bar was provided to make our days enjoyable. Our room cleanliness was 1st class as usual and just love the walks along the beautiful beach. Will come again for sure!!

A very good area to immerse into authentic Mexico. A slow paced non-american resort with very good food. Not for the party crowd or singles looking for the "what happens in..." crowd. There are many excursions locally and Sayulita is 45 minutes down the road.

I was pleasantly surprised by this resort. Classed as a 3-star, the grounds, service, facilities, entertainment and food all exceeded my expectations. The simple, tidy room lacked an ocean view, but little time was spent there. Conveniently close to the beach, restaurant and bar, apart from the sound of waves, it was relatively quiet. I liked the yoga and zumba classes and bicycles offered by the resort and the always friendly and helpful staff. The food was delicious, fresh and plentiful.
