Overall amazing, the only downside is the beach not usable. My kids would have loved the beach and it being so close to our room. We had to use another resort’s beach front which required travelling a bit. I would have loved to have the restaurants open even if it was not peak season to have more variety for the guests.

Beautifully kept property. Clean. Lots of greenery, animals and available places to sit. Food very good and very nice service/ wait staff. Manuel very nice waiter. Due to downsizing of staff (just starting off season) we were told no available a la carte restaurants. All booked up? No info sent to us advising to book prior to arrival which have never had to do. Concerns were brought to manager who managed to secure 2 9pm dinner times

Excellent trip to the Bahía Príncipe Explore Tulum. Weather was amazing. Resort was not busy so we had our choice of chairs at the beach or pool. They were constantly cleaning and fixing things around the resort while we were there. Too bad about the sea weed on the beach, they worked so hard to clean it up everyday but some days it was just too much for them! Big shouts out to Nicholas our Air Canada Rep who was instrumental in getting the cell phone I lost on the bus back and to Manuel our favourite server in the buffet.

We had a wonderful family vacation. Nice room and property, good food, beautiful resort and lots to do with the kids (ages 4 to 9). Kids pool area/splash pad/mini water park was nice. Staff were also amazing. We had what was advertised as a 2 bedroom unit however it was really a bedroom plus a living area that has a sofa bed. However the sofa bed did come apart and we managed to sleep all three kids on it. Another thing to be aware of is the distance from Cancun airport - over an hour drive.

I have stayed at this resort a number of years ago and it was fantastic. Sadly over the years there hasn't been alot of updating done. There are holes in the roof so of course when it rained the floor was wet. The buffet was good the first few days but the menu never changes so it gets harder and harder to eat there every day. They also dont have theme nights or anything special at the buffet. The room we had was excellent!! We had a 2 bedroom suite which included two bathrooms, two sundecks, two TV's etc. Very nice for a family that needed more room. The fridge did not work in the room nor did one of the TV's. When i let the staff know about it both things were fixed in a very short time. Staff were also very friendly and the pools were nice and clean. Entertainment was wonderful as well. Very poor directions of different activities going on at the resort. We missed a few things going on around the resort because we didn't know where to look to find them. The a la cartes were OK. Nothing special that we found which was also quite sad. I myself would not return to this resort in the near future. It is an hour and a half south of the airport which makes for a very long day once you get off the airplane. All in all a good time because we were in Mexico and the weather was fantastic!

This is not ideal with 3 adults sharing the space, one of which has a disability. Needless to say we were disappointed by this.

Suite was wonderful - large, modern and dry not damp. Beach was lovely and they really stayed on top of removing the sargassum grass. The resort was kept very clean and the staff were all wonderful. The food was great. We were late booking the restaurants so we only got into one of them as it was a busy week. Lots of activities if you wanted them. Pickup and drop off were efficient. There were virtually zero vendors on the beach all week and the resort felt super safe like a gated community. We would retrun in the future.

After 3 years we returned to Bahai Príncipe Grand Tulum as we enjoyed it so much. The second time around was just as enjoyable with the exception of the food. In all aspects, buffet and a la carte, the quality was somewhat disappointing. Also we felt we would try the Sian Ka’an Tulum ( part of the same complex as it is adult only and quieter Not to say we didn’t enjoy Grand Tulum but as a couple of oldsters we feel next time a more sedate environment would be better. Overall it was a really great stay. I would recommend this resort to my friends.

My family enjoyed a one-week vacation over New Years 2025/26. Overall, the hotel, service level, and grounds/beach/pool are very good. Pros: The beach is fantastic. It is a nice strip of beach several hundred meters long that is all walkable. There is a bar/restaurant along with many rentals along the strip. Snorkeling and SUP boarding was common there (bring your own equipment). The snorkeling from shore was very good with lots of marine life to see (fish, rays). Our room was only 50 meters from the beach. There were plenty of parasols and beach chairs for everyone. The pool areas were fantastic, and daily entertainment was organized and busy. The New Year's celebration was incredible. It was well organized with lots of champagne flowing. Selection of premium liquor was good. Lineups for drinks during the day was reasonable. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Cons: The a-la-carte restaurants were all booked up after the second day. We were able to get into 2 for the week as a family of five but some people we spoke to were not able to book any restaurants. The buffet was okay but got tiresome by week's end. There were many "extra" costs including a hotel tax we found out about upon arrival. Some of the extras were more Mexico related than hotel specific (for example, the "exit" tax, the cost to see Tulum was exorbitant and the process was painful). The local transit was very reasonable at 20 pesos each way per person for the 20-minute drive to Tulum. Some of the costs at the hotel were a little out of hand (examples: exchange rates, CAD 19 for a bag of chips, USD 233 for golf). It is advisable to get Pesos in smaller denominations before arriving in Mexico. Tipping was common and appeared to be expected (20 pesos is less than CAD 2). The rooms had a weird layout with separate shower and toilet area and a sink in the main room. We had three in one room, so it made it a little dysfunctional at times. The hotel is a long drive from Cancun airport to the hotel (~1.5 hours)

The weather was absolutely amazing the whole 10 days. We had no issues with the WestJet flight and was well prepared with everything needed from the trip central staff. Thank you for making sure we were prepared with visit tax and everything else.

This resort was absolutely amazing if you are a family with kids under 12. Between the water park at Coba, plus the one on site at Tulum, there was always something for the kids to do. Couple that with the amazing number of activities for kids, and the entertainment, our kids were constantly excited and playing. The buffet food was also absolutely incredible for a resort, with some great variety and choices at every meal. Probably the only downside is how far away this resort is from the airport (over an hour drive) so I would highly advise booking a private transfer if you can afford it. I would not choose this resort if I wasn't with my kids, but if you're with family you can't go wrong with Bahia Principe.

We had a wonderful time at Grand Bahia Principe Tulum! Travelled with 1 child, and 2 seniors. The grounds were well kept & the perk of having access to the other hotels was great, including the trolleys.

Public areas were well maintained, food was amazing and the kids club was great with my 4 year old and my nephew who is 7. Kids pools are great and we spent most of our time there. The beach at the Grand Tulum wasn't great in the season but the others were cleaner and you can go in a short cart ride. Great hotel. Would recommend

We really enjoyed this Resort, service was great, food was amazing. We did ATVing in the juggel and the tour guide (Migal) and his team did a really good job of explaining everything and leading it. The beach was dirty in some areas but still had some clean areas.

I absolutely loved the time i had at the Tulum resort. From the front counter staff that were very attentive and prompt in any of our requests, the wait staff that continously kept us hydrated and entertained, to the entertainment team that kept us smiling. Even the cleaners were pleasant. Everyone made us feel like we were home away from home. I will never forget our new friends and I can't wait to come back.

The grounds are very clean as is the rooms. Bedding changed daily. Excellent meals. First time to this resort but would not hesitate in booking it again. Has pool activity daily. Free bars all around the property. They also have a market and casino.

I came to the hotel from may 2-9th and it has been one of my best trips ever. The hotel was extremely well kept and everything was beautiful. The beach in-front isn’t perfect since it’s a bit wavy but the one a couple minutes walk down the beach is beautiful. The pool was amazing and always so clean. Food was the best from any trip i’ve been on in a super long time. Specialty restaurants are great. Only slightly negative thing is lines for drinks can be long at bars sometimes but that’s to be expected with such a large resort. Overall a 9.5/10 i’d 100% go back again!

This resort is nice, just disappointing that we could not use the beach at all due to severe seaweed. They had tractors out every day trying to control, not their fault. "Mother Nature" Also, did not realize you have to book your restaurants from home, we tried to book same day we arrived at resort and were completely booked. Only able to get into one restaurant.

Love the Bahía chain lots of Activities- only complaint is booking the restaurants - you have to book the week before you leave on the app- if arrive at resort cannot book 3 or 4 restaurants- they should provide enough spots for everyone to get. All their restaurants in

The hotel is beautiful, the meals excellent and staff very nice. However, we went for the beach. It was rocky, wavy and lots of seagrass. Our room request was not met, double beds. We had to move three times. Then the room we were given was adjoining and very noisy with party guys next door. Third room was excellent near the adult pool. However, no food around that area, except for nachos which lasted 10 minutes. We had to argue to get the restaurants. Unless you pre-book 10 days by app which we did not know then were not able to access. Even then, many complaints about not getting the restaurants wanted.

Everything was very nice. The week that we went was very windy so we could not go to the beach and the beach and water was full of seaweed. That was the only downfall. The workers, food and drinks were amazing. The main pool was a bit dirty mostly on the sides. Not sure how often they clean it.

We were the last to get off our airport shuttle bus, making for a long day of travel (numerous drop-off stops along the way). Thankful at least for the 11pm-7am Truck restaurant, as we came in late and hungry! Check-in was relatively painless, as we were the only people coming in at that time. Front desk staff was cordial, although things sometimes took a while to get resolved. We were given a room with two double beds and asked to be switched to one with a king-size bed. After a soft sell on a room upgrade (we politely declined) they agreed they could accommodate if we came back in the morning. Well, it actually took a couple days, but they did eventually come through ... so we had a king-size bed for the last seven nights of our stay. Zuriel was courteous and understanding, and did his best to follow through on our behalf whenever on duty. The buffet had lots of variety, including fish and vegetarian options - overall very good to excellent. We booked all four a la carte restaurants right away, no problem. In our opinion Thali Indian was the best. (Tequila Mexican seemed to be an extension of the Mexican section of the buffet.) Resort is huge and with all the action being focused in the central main pool area, we didn't stray too far most days. Worth noting that it was much more peaceful at the pool/beach near Andale burger joint and no trouble finding a lounge chair there. Recreation staff started volleyball twice daily, 11am and 3pm - excellent! Never had a problem getting a game going. Wind was a challenge most days, but affected everyone equally. Good fun! Overall the resort is well maintained, with a friendly staff. Beach was a bit of a construction zone, with their ongoing attempts to clear the weeds. Not a resort issue, but we felt a little cheated by our 10:30pm arrival time and 5:15am departure time. Nine days was more like 8.25 really. I will look more closely at this the next time I consider Air Transat vacations.

The grounds are well manicured and so green. I love watching the the little critters roaming around. Our room was clean and comfortable. When our fridge wasn’t working properly, staff quickly replaced it for a new one. When our toilet was plugged, staff came in right away to fix it. The food was so good and tasty. A la carte meals were fabulous, except for Mediterranean restaurant. It was terrible. Food and service. Beach was water was amazing. Beautiful clear, turquoise water, and could could even see all the colourful fish very close to the shore. Did not have to rush and place a towel down to safe a chair. There were lots of shelter chairs to choose from. Staff are extremely friendly, and funny. Enjoyed the gym every morning. Loved the store at Coba where 1/3 of merchandise is 70% off. Such a great deal! I cannot say enough about this resort. I would highly recommend it!???The location is the only negative thing about it. It’s a 1 hr. and 45 minute drive from airport to resort.They have to drop off people along the way too.

The resort had everything I was looking for. The beach was long for walks. The swimming areas in the ocean were super. I snorkelled right off the shore. Very good food in the alacarte restaurants. Entertainment was wonderful. Would recommend this resort.

All areas of resort clean. Availability of transport from rooms to locations was excellent by very courteous staff. Of course restaurant staff where welcoming and efficient.The only issue I had was the abundance of the long tailed animals and racoons. I believe they are starting to overwhelm the resort.

A most enjoyable location and atmosphere. The staff are all terrific. I often noticed how clean and well-maintained the grounds are. Huge, beautiful vegetation everywhere. Food is terrific, lots of choices. Beaches are beautiful (except for a few rocky spots). I would encourage anyone to visit this resort.

My review of the resort is a little long, When i booked this resort, I started to read reviews on different sites and at times made me concerned but did not change as I remember that so many people complain about almost everything. So at the airport it was about 45 minutes to get through immigration and 45 for luggage. We then went and looked for Canada Transfer(highly recommend) and off we went. We arrived at the resort 5:15 pm and check in was all together 20 minutes and we upgraded to renovated room in block 10 and was a great location and close to all things. DO NOT look at the weather forecast as it can change every 20 minutes, yes we had cloud, rain and tons of sun and the wind was storng most days. The main pool was our to go area 1st few days but then we stayed in the area but went to the pool above the main and was quiet but you could still here the music which was nice. The entertainment staff(Erick, Alejandro) make it so fun for all guest of all ages and are a huge asset to this resort. The beach was very nice and I would say if you want water shoes use them but I found you will be just fine if you don't have them, also very little seaweed most days, the last 2 days there it was bad due to the very strong winds but they are cleaning before the sun is up and do the best they can. The food was good, we did 3 al a cartes, 1st was mikado and the food was just okay but the chef was a 10/10 forgot his name. 2nd was tequila and i was not a fan but my wife said 10/10 and 3rd was Don Pablo and would give it a 10/10 and staff were very good. The buffet Yukatan was good, had so much choice and never ran out of food like some people have said in reviews. We had Edwin almost every meal we had there and he makes it even better as he treats you like his own family. We did the bracelet upgrade for use of all resorts and I would say if you need it do or just book Akumal to start with, I was giving a deal but did not use it enough as we had more than enough stuff to do at Tulum. Also the animals are everywhere but makes the trip to see them and never felt on safe as they leave you alone and you leave them alone. So to end this review off, is this a 5* resort no, but I would give a huge 4* and if you are on the fence ignore everything you read and go as you will regret not going as this was our 1st time in Mexico and would come back for sure to this resort. Any question message and will do my best to help with it.

rooms are good, tubs are a little high for old folks to step into, glass enclosure leads to much water on the floor leading to possible accident getting out of tub.. grounds are beautiful. pools are good. door to buffet should be in the middle so you don't have to walk so far if sitting in far corner at back of room. need to put a break out in ocean so beach is protected or allow access to the akumal beach.

Beach and water is AMAZING!! Staff are all so friendly and attentive, rooms are clean and spacious! Food could be improved a bit with selection and quality, but overall a great experience and a great resort!!

The grounds at Bahia Principe Grand Tulum were stunning, lush, and very well maintained. Food was very plentiful at the buffet. Only drawback was it was so hot in there due to the open nature of the restaurant. All the restaurants we visited were very good, we especially enjoyed the Mikado Tepanyaki and Tequila! Staff was amazingly friendly and hard working. Pool activities were super fun. My favourite was Victor the water aerobics instructor, so much fun! The beach was lovely but rocky in some spots for swimming, had to go towards the Akumal for better sandy beach. Rooms were just average and showed their age in comparison to the rest of the resort. Overall, it was a fun time with good food, plentiful drinks and lots of walking!

We went in the first week of June 2024. The hotel was big and beautiful, comfortable rooms, we had a Junior Suite. The food and drinks were fantastic and people were friendly and attentive. They had daily activities and great shows There was even a flea market close by for gifts called the "Hacienda". The only downside was the beach was very weedy and rocky getting in. They need to clean the seaweed regularly and you need to wear water shoes at the beach. The pools however were awesome and there were many of them. We highly recommend this hotel and we would go back.

I had such a good time at Tulum Grand Bahía. Shauna’s passion and knowledge for traveling really helped me throughout my journey. Everything was smooth and well planned. The hotel was great, food was amazing and the entertainment by the pool was so much fun. She helped me find the best possible option for my budget. She also suggested to pay a little more to go the Tulum instead of Coba. She definitely nailed it cause the 2 are not comparable. Tulum is much cleaner and a better experience overall. I would definitely go back to this resort.

Grounds are very safe, lit and walkable, have train transportation, but sometimes have to wait. May is extremely hot. Don Pablo, and tequila both excellent Ala Carter restaurants can try others at coba too! la gourmet is excellent. Drinks are weak, some bartenders better than others. No servers at pool or beach. Only in main bars. Didn't recognize our anniversary until 5th day. Management was very helpful. Said was not on account. Rooms are clean. Housekeeping excellent Buffet was okay, but some foods extremely greasy, made me sick. Lots of seaweed in may, and big trucks on beach to clear it away.

The service, food, and room are all good, but the entertainment is poor. The beach, pools, and location did not meet my expectations. I would not recommend it to a friend who loves and enjoys the beach as I do. I went into the water with a pair of rubber shoes (Crocs) for just 5 minutes and got hurt by sharp rocks. That was the first and also the last time I went into the water during my stay.

The room was modern and well appointed with AC, Fan, Lighting, comfortable bed and couch. The grounds were immaculate with many tropical plants and constantly cared for by the gardeners. The menu was varied and the a la carte restaurants were top notch offering well prepared fabulous tasting dishes elegantly presented. The evening shows were very interesting and entertaining. There was always a place to reline on the long sandy beach to watch the surf roll in after a swim in the ocean. All of this was complimented by the super friendly and accommodating staff everywhere.

The tours booked at the hotel were excellent and the shows were entertaining a 10/10 The best thing was we had access to Baha’i Coba a quick train ride away. It was nice to have the variety in restaurants and entertainment There were many pools to access and the beach was extremely nice and well groomed. The grounds were beautiful and there were small wild animals running around that added smiles for all. We had no complaints while staying at this hotel.

No map, no menu, no drink menu, couldn't find entertainment listings..everything was a QR code and took too much time. Couldn't locate air canada rep, beach was dissaponting. Got scammed by "no we don't have timeshare" on the resort, we just want 10 min of your time; 2 hours later if being passed around to this person and that to find out 10k to buy in to some resort deal. Wasted my time although I was upfront and said don't drag me around, give me the bottom line so I can enjoy my vacation. Basically with the 1.5 hour drive from airport to resort and getting sucked in to the drag around we lost a day. Paying as much as we did, on limited vacation time, I was truly dissatisfied. On a good note, the food was great, rooms were clean, and service was wonderful by staff. I've been to many Bahia's and I'm going to stick with Punta Cana, less travel, never got stocked by "not time share" scams and had access to paper formats if needed, could look at an actual menu at the bar and restaurant and was always informed of activities. I overheard others talking, and they thought it was the most boring resort yet, I suspect they couldn't figure out what was going on either. Won't be back to that resort, but will continue to enjoy Bahia in other areas so long as there is something I can read in front of me and not have to use my internet and find QR codes.

This hotel met all of our expectations, we were offered an upgrade upon check in and ended up with an ocean view room. The resort itself is huge but well laid out. Food is incredible and staff are very friendly and willing to help always! Would def go back!!

We booked our trip based on flight times 1st West jet changed our Mexico departure times to later (we did have option to cancel) 2nd on our drive to airport we received notification flight to Mexico would be delayed (we were already in transit to airport) The delay ended up being about 7 hours, we finally arrived at resort at 2am (wasted full day in transit for what should have been a 4 hour flight) 3rd flight was delayed on return home flight Would not recommend WestJet

Not happy: We did not receive confirmation regrding our trip until the day before we were to fly. this caused much anxiety. Our son was getting married so we brought 80 people including kids age 2- 15 to Mexico. We paid high price for our flight which was supposed to be a direct flight. That’s what we paid for. We ended up having to leave Edmonton at midnight and flew across Canada to toronto. Then flew from toronto to cancan and arrived in cancan got a bus to the Hotel. When we arrived we had to wait for our hotel rooms, because the resort wasn’t ready for us.. Our room was ok, but i had requested an adjoining room with Our daughter. Instead she got an adjoining room with a sister in law. We had requested that we all be close together as we were travelling with young children. Our son ended up approximately 2 km away. Not good. Every thing that was organized for the wedding set for Nov 3 turned out to be a disaster. No one can control the rain, but there should have been a back up location for the wedding reception, we ended up getting delayed for supper due to the rain, but when supper was served the table was soaking wet, and we all ended up drenched with the water leaking off the tables. Supper was miserable, people were getting shocks from the metal spoons, when we told the workers they all acted like they couldn’t speak English, very frustrating. Everything was way too expensive, not worth what we were charged. We ended up getting stranded in Montreal on our return flight. This cancelation caused my wife to miss a very important surgery which she had been waiting for for 2.5 years. No idea when she can be rescheduled. We had to get rooms for 35 people whom were on this flight. Absolutely not acceptable. I will not be recommending this travel site or the hotel

I was impressed the moment we entered the lobby. Very clean and updated. The grounds were beautiful and well taken care of and the rooms were some of the nicest ones we’ve stayed in also. The food was amazing as well. My only complaint is that the bars usually only had one server and the line ups got very long, otherwise everything was perfect. Would 💯 recommend this resort.

Our recent stay at Bahia Principe Grand Tulum was amazing! The newly renovated Premium Superior room was well appointed, clean, spacious & had adequate storage for our clothing, suitcases, pool floats, etc. The grounds and facilities are well maintained. The pools were clean, the restaurants were spotless, the staff went above & beyond to ensure guests were satisfied & happy. The resort offers many activities during the day & evening. The entertainment staff make sure everyone is having a great time! The fantastic kids club is great and has various activities for children ages 4-12. There’s also a teen club. Food was great whether it was from one of the many a la carte restaurants or the buffet. The food truck was handy being near the kids pool & water park. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun, family trip to the Riviera Maya area.

The resort is beautiful and the pools were amazing. It is only steps from the ocean so you have the best of both world. It is very family friendly with lots of activities and fun things for the kids to do. The food was OK - not great and mostly because it is not very hot - they serve it in warmers, but most times it was almost cold by the time you get to your table. We had 3 ala carte restaurants included in our package, but we didn't reserve prior to arriving, and there was zero availability at any of the resorts included in our package. This left us only the buffet to eat at for meals and after a few days it got kind of monotonous. The music at the main pool at points got very loud (but that might be because I'm old) lol I do have to say, we were there for Halloween and Day of the Dead Celebrations and they were phenomenal! We really enjoyed the decorations, the dancing and the costumes! The main criticism I have for this resort is on their events. We were there for my daughter's wedding and it Rained - they have NO event tents to set up and as a result, the décor my daughter spent weeks and weeks creating, got ruined, the guests had to sit at tables that had soaking wet table clothes - we managed to get the meal almost eaten before it started to rain again and they made us walk in the rain to the nearby restaurant verandah where they changed the reception to. If they had simply set up an event tent (they knew there was a 30% chance of rain) we would have been able to enjoy the evening without everyone getting soaking wet. Most of the staff were great and very accommodating (especially the cart transfer guys at concierge) but I did experience some very negative staff when calling the front desk. Overall it was an excellent trip with family and friends.

The Air Canada shuttle bus ride from the airport to the hotel was disappointing. Once onboard, the guide informed us that they would be making several stops at different hotels, and it would be a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes to arrive at Bahia Principe (the last resort on the trip). The toilet on the bus did not flush, so there was a urine smell. (Note: the return shuttle bus from BP to the airport was better as it was direct but still took 2 hours. It was a van, so no toilet and therefore no urine smell.) During the week, it was hard to find the Air Canada rep (Carlos) at the resort. Resort staff always reported seeing him "somewhere" on site. He was supposed to be in his office 9:30 am - 2 pm but was never there. I overheard other guests say they had been looking for him for 2-3 days. On our 3rd day, the resort staff tracked him down for us and told him to come meet with us in the lobby. When he arrived, he told us he doesn't do an orientation, and that Guest Services could answer all our questions. I asked how to know the time the return bus was leaving for the airport on May 30 and he said it was 6:10 am. I told him we weren't flying out until 6:00 pm, but he said that he was sure that the bus was leaving the resort at 6:10 am, as it takes a long time to get to the airport with the road construction, etc. I later learned there is a binder that lists all the airlines departure flights and the associated shuttle bus departure times from the resort. It showed our bus was departing at 12:20 pm. So, this particular AC rep really wasn't helpful at all. Upon arrival at BP Tulum, the check-in process for every person in the line up seemed to take a long time. At 3:15 pm the room was still not ready, so staff said to go to the buffet. At 3:45 pm a trolley drove us and our baggage to the room, where the housecleaning staff were still inside finishing up. Throughout the week there was a outside sewage smell that seemed particularly strong near the villas in section 33. It didn't smell inside the room with everything closed, but I didn't want to sit outside because of it. The resort is very clean, and the entire grounds are meticulously groomed. Every one of the staff work very hard to ensure that their guests have anything they want, and are having a good time. The all-inclusive wrist band also acts as the door key, so you do not need to worry about losing the key, and it tracks the time and each person that has entered the room. There is also an in-room safe that you program with your own digital code. The room was spacious and nice with an in-room mini-fridge that was replenished every day with beer, soft drinks and bottled water. I found the beach to be disappointing (narrow in spots, rocks, clumps of seaweed), so not very good to walk along. Therefore, I spent most of my time at the pool area. Yukutan Buffet - Although somewhat repetitive each day, there was a good variety of food, and there were several stations to watch your specific food order cooked in front of you. (I did not eat at the other restaurants, so cannot comment). The waiters at the dining area of the Yukutan buffet were great, and they gave the guests 5-star service. However, as the Yukutan buffet was open to the outside, it was quite humid and sometimes uncomfortable to sit in the dining area. There were birds flying throughout the buffet restaurant and landing on chairs and tables. The staff were kept busy cleaning up bird poop off the tables. If someone left their table to go back to the buffet's food prep area, the birds would instantly be on their plate scavenging the leftovers. In addition, there were a lot of coatis that were not afraid of humans, and they would get uncomfortably close. One even came into the dining area of the Yukutan buffet restaurant and put its paw on a patron who was sitting at the table! Eeek! In general, I would recommend this resort as it was relaxing, clean, and provided good value. The downfalls are the lengthy time it takes to get between the airport and the resort, the slow check-in and room access, and disappointing condition of the beach.

unfortunately the resort its not as I remember, I did stay at coba last time and I did have a good experience then, the room smells really bad the humidity was so bad that you could smell it form outside the door, the sofa was very dirty, the bedding had some holes and in a very used condition and pillows smelled so bad, I dont think they were change. i did book another room for my mom and was better but she was in the opposite side of our room and in a 3 floor for an old lady, i did ask to put her as close as possible before going there and wasn't granted, so for a couple of days we copped but at the end we have to pay for an upgrade and ask to move her closer to ask, which I regret, because her room humidity was so bad too that she was sleeping with a mask on it. our mattress were terrible hard that I could sleep well the whole week, for the pain in my hips and the smell, their solution about the smell it was a dehumidifier which didn't work, so beside the smell, the mattress now the NOISE. our fridge were disconnected for two days before leaving, my mom phone never worked even after I did ask to fix it because I was worry that she need it for an emergency. when showering water was running out the shower door to the floor room, and last , FOOD was okay, but I noticed that no more natural juices, desserts and bread without flavor, no beef only grounded, just one day I have a little bit of steak, like i said food was okay but no wonderful like other hotels. needs improving at the time of check in, not information at all, at least that what happens to us, we had to figure out how it works. we aren't all digital folks. now the positive, we had a great time with entertainment, the private restaurants were great, great pools, good room sizes, most of the stuff was friendly and willing to help, love the setting of the resort, their vegetation and green areas are great, transportation inside the resort was good.

We were returning visitors and the resort did not disappoint. People are very nice as usual. Thing to improve: the quality of the beer However food quality and choices more than compensate for the less than stellar beer. The seaweed was atrocious, I wish they had a mechanized way of cleaning the beaches rather than manual labour. Another issue I have is with how prohibitively expensive are the stores on site. No big deal, I just voted with my wallet, but if prices would be more affordable I would have probably spent some money.

The Grand Tulum was a beautiful resort. You are limited on where you can eat. You get 3 a la carte meals per week at one of 8-10 restaurants. But all of your other meals are eaten at the beach Truck (tacos, quesadillas, burgers, fries, etc) or the buffet. Gets a little repetitive over the course of a week. The best part about eating at the buffet was one of the servers, EDWIN! He was the funnest, warmest, most loveable humans. By far the highlight of our stay there! THANK YOU EDWIN!!!!

I love this resort and will go again. All staff are very friendly and accommodating. The grounds were immaculate. Rooms and restaurants have been updated. Wifi is much better than it was a few years ago. Great family resort! Kids camp programs and great inclusive staff members. Kids splash pad/waterpark/pool are awesome. Beach was beautiful, yes there was seaweed... its the ocean. But staff was on top of it every day! Entertainment every night that everyone could enjoy outside. Literally my one and only complaint is the pool decks are incredibly slippery if you are even slightly wet. So bring pool deck shoes!

So much to love about this resort. Rooms were nice, pools were well kept, food was good. Service was great. The booking through tripcentral.ca was so simple and quick. The trip from airport to resort was terrible. 2 hour wait before leaving airport. 2.5 hour trip. Almost 5 hours from rival. The resort requires a lot of walking.

Pool is great with lost of entertainment and activities. Beach like a lot of the area is dealing with endless weeds and beach erosion..not usable.The staff are friendly and talkative at most of the times. Food is very good with a large variety and dinning areas are always clean and spacious. Travel to resort which is about 96 km away took 3 hrs+, as bus stopped at 4 resorts as well as waiting at airport for 50 minutes for travellers that never showed up at bus. Travel back to airport took 4 hrs for a 96 km trip..a daytime nightmare!! arrived at airport 30 min before boarding schedule. A 9:00 am bus pickup for a 2:00 flight. Again part due to stops, traffic issues and guest not showing at arranged pickups. Be aware as this adds up to a about 2 days gone from a vacation. If we were to do the same resort again, we would look at private shuttle direct to resort/airport...with out the wait or stops. Be worth the dollars to eliminate stress and frustration.

Wonderful experience at this resort! It was my first time going to an all inclusive and I finally 'get it'. We had a wonderful time. The grounds were beautifully kept, with lots of plant and animal life around. The hospitality was exceptional, people were very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and modern, AC worked great. Food was decent and readably available and there were always activities happening. I liked that there was access to other nearby resorts too but Tulum was by far the best.

We've been to BP Resorts about 14 times but this was our first time staying at Tulum. We noticed that the tables were cleaned off quickly and the floors were kept very clean in the Buffets. The bathrooms also were routinely cleaned as well. The grounds at this resort are so beautifully maintained. We had no problems with our room. The fridge was stocked with water, pop & beer every day. The beds were made up as well. Some things we had to request were extra bath and hand towels as well as facecloths. They brought them to our room within 15 minutes. Overall, it was an awesome vacation for us & that is why we keep coming back.

Everything was amazing. It was clean, people were friendly. Great entertainment and nice pools. Food was alright. The only thing is a lot of seaweed on the beach which sucked. Otherwise great resort for everyone! Family friendly!

Love this resort!! My family and I stayed at this resort on the week of my birthday and they put a birthday banner on the door and gave us a bottle of champagne. I loved that and thought it was so nice!! The only thing I wish someone told me about was the 2 a la carte dinner reservations. I didn’t know we had to book those right away. We tried to book the day after we arrived but everything was already reserved. Other than that, everything was great, everyone was very helpful and service was great.

I thoroughly enjoyed the design. The resort is clean and comfortable. The staff is helpful and accomodating. The food is well prepared and consistently good in the buffet restaurants. We enjoyed the Peruvian / Japanese restaurant as well. Thoughtfully prepared meal. The pools are clean. We enjoyed the ocean only a little because the seaweed and surf were rough but that is just nature. The resort had crews doing their best to contend with the seaweed!

We were very pleased to see how Covid conscious staff were at this resort. All staff wore face masks 100% of the time. There was hand santizer available everywhere. Tables in buffets were sanitized after each diner. Guests were not permitted in buffets or restaurants without masks. When we left to go on excursions all transport and venues took temperature and again, staff were masked and guests had to be masked for entry. Very Covid safe!

We had a great vacation! Our room in the Tulum section was great! We had a 2 bedroom suite- which was a huge room! The resort was busy- only one place to get the breakfast buffet, so it made it difficult to get food. Only able to get 3 al cartes for the week. The food there was much better than at the buffet. Snack Bars- The food truck was ok- food always came out cold. Andale burger was better!! The beach in Tulum was nice. However, It was very rocky and had lots of seaweed. We enjoyed the quiet pool and the bar. We found all the staff to be very friendly- always saying hello and smiling.

We had an idea excellent vacation at Bahia Principe Tulum. The food was very good, the weather was great! The staff is very friendly including Eduardo at the quiet bar, Juan at the buffet and Gretel as one of the entertainment hostesses. Everyone is helpful there! The rooms and the grounds are very clean, thank you to all!

We enjoy our stay at this resort. The staff members were mostly very friendly. There are a of bars nearby to fill your every need. There a large variety of foods, healthy and non healthy. The entertainment and shows are very good.

Had a great vacation , havn't been away for 2 years , wasn't full which even made it better , not everything at full running but the staff and the resort were amazing and really tried to make everyone happy , I will be looking at this resort again in the future . There are a few minor hiccups with travel that you must do but would I do it again , yes in a heartbeat . Glad to see that people and buisness are getting back to a normal .

I changed my booking shortly after I booked at Tulum to Akumal because some friends were staying there but I regret not keeping my booking at Tulum! Tulum has been renovated and looks beautiful! Big bright signs all over the resort make it easier to navigate and find places like lobbies, restaurants and other amenities. The buildings themselves look newer as well as the balcony and doors. However, the beach is not as nice as it is near Akumal and therefore it is a bit far if you are looking for a good swimmable beach. BRING water shoes! the rocks on the ocean floor are sharp and everywhere. The food is really good and lots of different variety. The hotel staff are all great, friendly and really helpful. If you have friends staying at Coba, they won't be able to use get drinks at Tulum, which was not the case before. We went in September and the resort was mainly empty except for weekends.

Courteous, clean in all respects, pleasant, excellent dining, beautiful setting, give it all stars, We have travelled the world and would absolutely recommend this as the best all around resort yet. we cannot wait to go back and hope our friends and family go too. We had an amazing time at this resort! The beach was beautiful and clean, food was great with lots of choices at the buffet. We liked that you can go between the two resorts on golf carts. Rooms were good and lots of wildlife! Although we were not happy to see that they had dolphins kept within the resort. We would still go back again!

We were at the resort for nine days. The weather, the beach and pools were truly awesome. The daily buffets were well planned and very good. The ala carte restaurants were very good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was cleaned very well and was comfortable. The only downside was the plumbing, the toilet would not flush properly, but it was quickly fixed by staff.

We had a wonderful time at this resort! The rooms were well taken care of in a good size! At the grounds were always clean kind and beautiful! No The beaches are gorgeous and the pool was a such a good time! And all of our meals were delicious :)

We always have a great vacation at the Bahia Principe Grand Tulum. This was my third visit and I had a great time. Traveled with sister and relaxed the entire week. On several occasions we ordered in room service, a wonderful experience. Our food arrived hot after a short waiting time, the server took the time to set the table for our meal, the service was immaculate. Morning coffee service was delivered with pastries, yum. Looking forward to my next stay at this hotel.

I stayed at this resort in February of 2020. I'll outline the experience I had during my 7 day vacation here. Keep in mind that the resort has a couple of different sections (Tulum, Coba, and Akumal). I stayed at the TULUM section, So my review is solely based on the TULUM section. I departed on a Wednesday morning from YYZ. I landed in CUN at 10AM. I got on my shuttle bus that took me to Tulum. The bus ride was about 1 hour and 40 minutes. Upon arrival, I attended the front counter where I checked in. The hotel staff provided me with a key for the safe as well as a towel card (both subject to a charge if you fail to return them upon check out - around $40 USD). After I had checked in, the staff advised me that my room was not ready yet (the time was 1:30PM). They told me the room would be ready around 3:00 PM. This is an inconvenience after the flight from YYZ to CUN and then the 1:40 hour bus ride to the resort. The staff told me to have lunch and return after to see if the room was ready. I was directed to the buffet where they served breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Each night the buffet had a different theme for dinner (Spanish, Mexican, Asian - food looked the same all throughout to me). When I entered the buffet, I couldn't help but notice several birds on tables picking at the food left over by other guests who had finished eating. I sat at my table and was greeted by the friendly servers who asked me what I wanted to drink and so on. I then headed into the buffet and began to walk to see what the buffet had to offer for food. Nothing special, just your usual burgers (chicken, beef, fish), hot dogs, pastas, a Mexican food section (tacos, cheese quesadillas, piccolo's di Gallo, guacamole), Pizzas (cheese, pepperoni, vegetarian, sea food), fries, and cold cuts. I don't eat seafood so I choose a burger, fries, and some Mexican food selections. I went back to my table and tried the food. Excited to try the food, I ended up being very disappointed. The food had NO TASTE at all. Pizza's were under cooked, burgers had no taste, and fries were soggy. At approximately 3:00PM, I went back to the front desk and was advised my room was ready. I took a trolly to my room. When I got to my room, located on the ground level, I noticed it was VERY OUTDATED. There was a 24 inch LG TV in the room (no options to rent movies), very outdated paintings on the walls. However, the plus side was that the room was clean. After I had unpacked, I decided to go explore the resort - try to locate pools, beach, bars, cafe's, etc. I started walking around. I was able to find one pool which was close to my room. I noticed that the pool was empty - not a lot of people in the pool. I looked closer and noticed that several birds were in the pool. Several birds would just swim in the pool and bath themselves. I was shocked. I looked further into the pool and discovered that this pool was absolutely filthy (dirt, leaves, birds, etc in the pool). I was in absolute shock at the state of the pool and grew disappointed. I then left that pool and walked more where I found the beach. If you are into going to the ocean to float for several hours during the day, I don't think this is the resort for you. This beach had giant rocks placed approximately 50 - 100 meters away acting as barriers. Basically, you were allowed to pass those barriers. I continued my "exploring" and located another three pools, all close to each other (not connected). Only one of the three pools had a pool bar. This was in a sense the party pool. Here they would host activities (games, water Zumba, etc). These pools weren't dirty like the first pool I had been to. The other two pools were just relaxed. Kids would play in them as well (there were no water slides or anything). After spending some time at the pool, I went back into my room to shower and change for dinner. I went back to the buffet and once again, I was disappointed. Not very many selections (pastas, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, etc). Again, NO TASTE at all. After dinner I decided to make reservations at the restaurants on the resort. There were different types of restaurants at the resort. I went to the reservation office was advised by the staff that I was only able to make reservations for 4 restaurants. Odd, since I had a seven day stay. I decided to make reservations to a Mediterranean, Italian, Peruvian, and Brazilian restaurant. The restaurants were OK. Food was a LITTLE BIT better than the buffet. I guess my favourite one was probably Italian. Pizza was alright, nothing special. The Brazilian restaurant was like Copa Cabana (if your from Toronto, you know where I'm talking about), but they had like maybe 5 cuts of meat - chicken, sirloin, pork, and fish). The Medeterainain restaurant was OK. I had ordered a couscous and chicken dish. The chicken was OK but the couscous did not taste good at all. It seemed to be infused with strawberry - kind of weird to me. It's important to note that not all of the restaurants were in the Tulum Section. Some where in the Akumal or Coba, so I had to take a trolly there. I decided to spend some time at the other parts of the resort. I took a trolly to the Coba section. There were probably about 3 or pools here. There were about 2 pool bars. Better than Tulum. Pools were cleaner. 1 of the pools had activities taking place (games, dances, etc). There was also a water park in the Coba pool for the children. Note that there is NO BEACH at the Coba section of this resort, so if you are staying at Coba, you'll have to take a trolly to the Tulum section and walk over to the beach. I also attended Playa Del Carman on one of the days. This is a half day event. A jewelry store called "tour" basically pays for the shuttle to Playa Del Carman (the infamous 5th Avenue - about 30-40 minutes from the resort) in exchange for you to spend 45-60 minutes in their store. BE CAREFUL as the sales staff try to get you to purchase something. Just note that you DO NOT have to buy anything. Once I had finished at this store, 45 minutes later, the bus picked me up and brought me to 5th Avenue where you get to spend 2 hours there. Good time to try any restaurants and buy some souvenirs. After the 2 hours, the driver picked me up and drove me back to my resort. Once my seven days were over, it was time for me to check out. Luckily, I had a late flight departing CUN at 9:30PM. A bus had already been arranged to pick me up for 5:00PM. The resort is equipped with wifi, however it's very slow and only good for 90 minutes. There is an option to purchase the premium internet ($15 USD for 3 days). One night, I decided to purchase the premium internet. I logged on and the screen prompted me to either have the $15 charged to my room or my credit card, I selected to have the room charged. When I clicked "submit", the internet complely shut down and had no access to the internet. I was forced to tether the data on my phone to my computer. Upon checkout, the staff informed me that I had a fee of $15 (USD) for the premium internet fee. I told them that I never even got to use the premium internet as the page had shut down. The Supervisor came down and told me it was my responsibility to advise them that their internet wasn't working. I didn't want to cause a scene, so I paid the fee headed to the airport. Overall, I did not like this resort. The beach had the barriers, rooms were out dated, the food was absolutely the worst part, and lastly, some pools were not clean. I do not recommend this resort for anyone who is considering it. The resort is rated a 4.5 star but I don’t think its close to it. The only positive thing I can comment on are the friendly staff. They were very polite and friendly. I thank them for their hard work at the resort.

Delicious food, tons of options. Rooms were clean and cozy. Would've appreciated an extra outlet for charging (only 2 in the superior room) but it was not a big deal. A charge pack my partner brought for his vape made it a non issue. I wonder if they'll add some during renos this spring. Could always find a spot by the beach or pool which was sweet. Tasty a La carte but unfortunately 3 were unavailable because of early reno starts. Still was able to get into 3 and had a great experience. No seaweed problems on the beach, it was gorgeous. Great snorkeling along the beach but they could use a public washroom along there! Maybe I was just blind but didn't see one...

We really loved this place, safe, clean, friendly with excellent facilities. Lovely beach and great pool. The kids loved the food choice, the white sands and clean beach. Night shows were brilliant and well organized. In a great location for local visits to historic sites and snorkelling. Great waking up in the mornings to bird song and lots of sun.

This was our 3rd time to the GBP Tulum. Everything was just as good as we remembered. The pools and beach have plenty of loungers. The grounds are impeccably kept. The staff are so friendly. Our room was cleaned 1st thing each morning. The food was delicious and plenty to choose from at the buffet. My hubby is a picky eater so when he says he likes the food you know it’s good. We can’t wait to go back again next year!

Room: The rooms were beautiful, though we didn't get a King size bed, but two full beds pushed together, which worked just fine. The door to the bathroom would stick and you would have to play with it a little to open the door. The flapper on the toilet kept getting stuck and needed a nudge so the toilet would refill after flushing. The bar fridge also had notably less stuff in it compared to other 4.5 star resorts. The shower was nice and the furnishings were great. The cleaning staff Roberta was also very friendly and accommodating. Things to do: Whatever short comings the room had was made up by the sheer amount of activities to do on the resort or group of resorts and how huge it is. The beach is absolutely stunning. There are these huge rocks near the shore that break the waves so the water is always calm on the beach, staff keep the beach very clean at all times, tables, disposal buckets for cigarettes everywhere if you smoke, palm shelters for shade. There is a beach bar, beach volleyball, there is buffet near the beach, and a swimming pool nearby if you prefer less sand. There are daily dolphin shows at noon, and you can pay extra to swim with the dolphins. There is beach volleyball, trivia, a pool bar, 24 hour snack bar, and the main buffet on Tulum is great. They rotate cultural themes nightly for dinner but also serve breakfast and lunch. Akumal Bar at Lobby Tulum has some of the fastest bartenders I've ever seen, it is a fantastic place for drinks and live music which varies nightly. Remember to tip your bartender! There is also an auditorium near Akumal Bar with nightly performances which are fun. There was a classic rock night, 80s night, and a Queen tribute. The shopping is pretty good on the resort, lots of souvenirs and there is a tequilaria that is decent as well. La Hacienda has some nice shopping, a casino, nightly live music and salsa dancing, and the disco is there if a club is more your scene which starts to get busy around midnight. The reservation based restaurants are all great except you need to aim to arrive before your reservation as it can take you up to 30 minutes to get from say Akumal Bar at Lobby Tulum, to one of the restaurants at Lobby Premier or Coba if you don't already know exactly where you are going. They hold a strict policy of only holding your reservation for 5 minutes and there is no option for walk-ins so if you are 10 minutes late you are turned away at the door. So you need to give yourself a good buffer as you'll be relying on catching bus carts to get around to other resorts. Also if you have any allergies you need to learn to say it in Spanish otherwise the staff might misunderstand what you are talking about. And for anything tricky like gluten, you need to speak with a manager; though we did have a server at Mediterranéo that was very knowledgeable about the menu and again at Don Pablo on our second visit. If you are in Maya Riviera you need to take a whole day in Playa Del Carmen. Best shopping and Mexican food accessible to tourists. Lots of bars with great night entertainment and very lively. Always think like everyone there is trying to gouge tourists. You need to shop around to find decent deals. We took a free bus ride out there sponsored by a private business called Tura in collaboration with BestDay tours. Tura is a jewelry company and they basically trap you in a jewelry store for an hour before bringing you to Playa for 3 hours before driving you back. It's better to spend the 36 USD each way to take a cab to Playa. We skipped on the bus ride back, and spent the evening in Playa and took a cab back that night because there was so much to see. And all the tequila to taste!! There are tours available through your agency at the hospitality desk which I would recommend sticking to, but there are all sorts of stalls throughout the resort. We did a catamaran trip with snorkeling and paddle boarding, as well as rappelling into, zip lining, and swimming in an underground cenote, then ate traditional Mayan cuisine all made from ingredients raised and grown on site. We explored the restored Mayan ruins of EkBalam. And participated in a Mayan protection ceremony. On our last night at Don Pablo they set up our table with flower pedals with a heart at the center. We had a wonderful last night. The trip was unforgettable. Would love to come back someday.

We just got back from our 10 day vacation at Grand Bahia Principe Tulum. Gorgeous resort, well maintained property, lots of wildlife to observe, but the resort itself is rather large and would not recommend for those with mobility issues. Close to the beach which is a big plus but downside to the beach is the large sandbags to prevent big tides, they are a bit of an eye sore and also prevent you from swimming out very far. We didnt try any of the a la carts, the buffets and the snack bar were plenty for us, lots of food options and very flavorful. Biggest downfall to this resort is that the latest the bar is open is 11pm, you can take the transportation carts over to Coba which has a bar open till 1am. The resort itself has lots of shopping options with the two lobby gift shops and jewelry store as well as a bunch of vendor shops down at La Hacienda at the entrance of the resort which is a short 5 minute walk from the lobby, or you can catch one odd the transportation carts if you are unable to walk. Overall, it was a great trip and dont have many complaints regarding our stay :)

The resort is very big, but it and our room and the public areas were beautiful and sparkling clean. I did not see a single plastic straw the whole time I was there, and the hotel is to be commended in using washable plastic glasses in the pool areas. It was great to see this really positive effort to reduce the use of single-use plastics. We are two seniors - not good walkers - but the buggies that patrolled the pathways were frequent enough to be a real help to us. One of my worries going to Mexico was of the shootings and violence one hears about in the news. I think because the Bahia Principe Tulum was not close to any major city, and because there was a lot of security people around the hotel there were no incidents and I felt perfectly safe. The food was excellent, the pool areas beautiful, the beach everything one could hope for in a Caribbean setting - and the pelicans diving for their food endlessly entertaining. I'll vote for a return visit next year!

The resort was great! The staff was friendly and attentive. Rooms were clean and good size. Food was good, lots of variety with a la carte, but make sure you ask about online booking fills up fast! A!

This hotel was very well kept! The staff worked hard all day and evening. We were always greeted with a smile and great service. This resort is quite big so you can except a lot of walking depending on your room location. Hotel location is about 1 hour and 20 mins from Cancún. This also means it’s a further drive to potential excursions.

When we got there most of the people at the front desk did not speak enough english to be able to understand us. When we had problems there was no "leader" who could be found to truly help us. Many of the times there were places without staff for the problem (ie for the shuttle to the airport)

I travelled solo and I am a vegetarian who does not drink alcohol. And this hotel had everything offered to me to relax, rewind and rejuvenate. I never had any issues with food. The rooms are very clean. The staff is very friendly, helpful and courteous. The hotel attracts many Europeans, French and Canadians. I enjoyed the speciality restaurants. The pool activities and the beach walks. The only soar spot was the city bus tour offered by Air Canada vacations. The driver left 13 of us stranded by coming 45 min late to pick us up and offered no explanation. 13 guests from different hotels stranded on 5th Ave at 9pm in night. Not a good experience. I did complain to Air Canada Vacation representative, but she never reverted.

The room was clean and updated. The food was delicious and service was great! I would recommend this resort for couples or for families. The nightly entertainment was great as well. We enjoyed our stay.

Very safe resort. All your shopping needs are in the Market on site. The buffet food is amazing. The only draw back is the beach, lots of rocks in the water as hurricanes are taking its toll in the water. We brought dock shoes and enjoyed the water. The beach sand was nice.

The rooms were spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. Food in the main buffet restaurant was great! Staff were accommodating. They had a market area on resort. The internet resort wide was a bonus! Would definitely recommend this resort to friends and would love to go back!

Grand Bahia Principe Tulum is the most beautiful resort I have ever visited. You have access to the Coba resort as well which was pretty awesome. The shows were amazing, the disco was fun, we met a lot of great people from around the world and the workers are simply the nicest people I have ever met. I came back to Canada saying hola to half the population here lol! Just a great trip in general. Food, service, stay, and everything about Grand Bahia Principe Tulum was perfect. Very close to tulum city as well and we just had a blast there. I have 0 complaints. Great resort!

MELODIE CARGILL WAS AMAZING AND LISTENED TO EXACTLY WHAT WE WANTED. SHE WAS SO KIND AND PATIENT. WE WILL USE HER AGAIN 100% first of all this resort is big but they have carts that literally go by every 5 minutes and they have 'bus stops' just a heads up the kids waterpark is at the coba side which you have access to but again need to take a cart. You could stay in coba if you wanted with kids but coba doesnt have a beach. Tulum does. Honestly either side is fine. The a la cartes are great and I found a lot of the snack bars a little better than the traditional buffett. Rooms are nice and big. Many huge pools to choose from. They are all great. The staff are great. My husband and I really enjoyed ourselves do did the kids.

The beach is small and checkin/chexkout is slow but other then that, everything about the resort was perfect. The rooms were nice, the food was amazing and the service was fast. The excursions were pricey like every other destination but you can get a taxi yourself to go where ever you want to go.

The grounds was clean and the room as well. They had a variety of good food at the buffet. The service was good and the staff was friendly. They had a lot of different activity. The beach was clean and warm. The pool bar was great.

Greeted by the bell boys immediately after exiting my transport from the airport. They took my luggage gave me a tag and I checked in. Very fast and simple check in. Explained the grounds and amenities to me. Then I was escorted to my room. Beautiful, clean and exactly as depicted on the website. I was close to the beach and pool area. Pool area was beautiful and clean. Only downfall was no service from the wait staff around the pool for service. Was no one to offer a drink in my 7 days there. If you want something you go get it. Difficult at times when you are traveling alone. The beach was nice, lots of seating available. Restaurants buffet especially was fantastic.The Wai staff, all male , was very attentive to everyone and their needs. Very clean and always offered hand sanitizer when entering the food area. I definitely will be back. I felt safe as a female traveling alone and always felt looked after and treated well.

Beautiful resort. Great service, food and rooms. We were placed by the beach which was great. Our room was nice, clean. The staff was polite and friendly everywhere we went. Loved that you could take a shuttle between resorts. Only thing we had an issue with was that the buffet food was cold alot. So food that should be hot was usually cold and a bit tough but still tasted good. However we did 3 a la'carte restaurants (Italian, Brazilian and Japanese). The food was absolutely to die for. Sooooo good. We loved the resort that we will be going back again and probably some of their resorts across Mexico /Jamaica. Thank you for making my husband's 50th Birthday so special.

We just got back from our 7 day stay at Bahia Principe Tulum and it was very good. We would rate our experience as 4/5 for the following reasons: Pros: - the grounds are impeccably kept - each meal at the buffet had a large selection of food options - the pizza at dinner was especially good (very different from the lunch pizzas) - the Queen show was great - the Abba tribute group was amazing as well (same lead singer as Queen) - the flank steak at the Mexican a la carte was perfectly cooked and tasty - the fried rice at the teppanaki restaurant was so flavorful - the weeks activities were clearly scheduled and displayed in numerous places so it was easy to know what's happening, when and where Cons: - we were given a room with 2 double beds as opposed to the king room we booked - the double bed room had a door that connected to the adjacent room which made the walls seem paper thin, I mean so thin that you could hear luggage being zipped/unzipped. - when we changed rooms on the third day (to a king room) the AC was not working. It was 30+ and the AC was absolutely necessary. It was fixed (after numerous calls to the front desk) within 24 hours however this made for one extremely uncomfortable night. - the beach floor was quite rocky in places (apparnetly expected due to proximity to coral reef). Water shoes would be a good idea - drink service in the buffets was slacking at times Other: - our room was reasonably cleaned each day - staff were friendly and helpful - we received the best buffet drink service from Israel. - We visited Coba on occasion and it was much busier, we're glad we chose tulum. There was plenty to do but without the overwhelming crowds. - The beach, while not huge, was pleasant and quiet, although it could have used some activities on the beach (if you're on the beach you're kind of isolated and unaware of what's happening). - The water was great, they have barriers to break the waves so the water coming in is fairly calm. - We were happy that Tulum was very close to the Hacienda Doña Isabel, only a 5 minute walk. - The magic show was AMAZING! We would return.

The hotel room was not very clean when we arrived. When I brought this to the front desks attention they didn't take my complaint seriously. This was my second time at the resort, as we stayed there last year. Overall the hotel was very nice, beach was clean and the staff were awesome.

The hotel itself is really nice surrounded by lush trees an gardens. We stayed at Grand Bahia Principe Tullum from July 9 to July 16, 2019. We landed at Cancun airport and the drive from the airport to the resort was about 1.5 hours. We were flying with Air Canada Rouge, the flight was good but the only thing I did not like was that there was no tv in the plane. Having kids in plane for 4 hours without any entertainment got very boring for them. Had we knew we could have brought their Ipads. Talking about the Resort, we really liked the resort, it is on a big property. We stayed at Tullum but could use the buffet, pool, bar, lobby of Grand Bahia Principe Coba as well. There is no way you can walk from Tullum to Coba Resort as its too far, the best way to go around was using their tram. The trams would come every 10 minutes. Being a vegetarian we were concerned about food but we survived. They had good vegetarian options but most of the food items were repetitive. So we relied heavily on potatoes, rice, nachos, pastas, pizzas, and salads. We stayed in villa 45, room 4125, the room is quite far from the pool. If you have younger kids I would recommend you get rooms closer to the pool. They have snack bar that is opened 24 hours a day, which we used a lot. Hatts off to the employees that work so hard anywhere from cleaning rooms, to waiters, cleaning lobbies and gardens.

We didnt like the tulum resort but did like coba. Tulum is older resort and snack bar was far. Our room was at the very end which we didnt like. The trollies were very busy if u wana go to ur room or different resort. I would not recommend to anyone. Our departure was in the morning. The front desk said that we can have breakfast at snack bar. The guy was rude early in the morning at 5.30am. We ended up having only toast that it. Since we had small kids. Not enough lounge benches by pool. Lots of sea weed at the beach

This resort was absolutely beautiful, the grounds were extremely clean and very well looked after. The rooms were always clean and the room staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurants were amazing ! The food was delicious and plentiful .the beach was beautiful and the pools were sensational, our excursions were very organized , with helpful, very friendly and knowledgeable guides. We never worried about a thing and had a fantastic time!
