Stay away!
I stayed 14 days it was a nightmare. Lots of things didnt work in our room. Its a big resort so please be aware there will be alot of walking. No buses, it takes forever. Food was horrible. Service was terrible. Beach had a bad smell and alot of sargassum. As a female I didn't feel safe and I'll not return.

Beautiful Beach and Grounds!
Loved the beach and grounds. So well kept and full of peacocks! The room was very well maintained and no complaints other than outside noise from people coming and going but then again we were on the first floor. Food and drinks were fantastic too!

Beautiful Resort!
The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. The beach is awesome!! My complaints are, they offer nothing for returning guests and the a la carte restaurants have very little to no AC, which makes it uncomfortable and very warm. The pool is great, however too many kids/toddlers in main pool. They have two other pools designated for kids only. It would be better if they had an adults only pool. My family and I have been twice and plan on returning. I recommend this resort ?

Repeat visit to this resort
I personally love the layout of this resort and where our room was in relation to the beach as well as buffet. We stayed in building 11 and because I love to walk I was able to get around everywhere without using the tram. For those in my group who found it hard to walk any distance they would just jump on and off the tram and there were no complaints from them . The beach was well maintained with the seaweed being removed early each morning. I walked 1 hour each way from this resort on the beach and still could not see the end of the beach. Love the fact that they never ran out of towels and you could just exchange at end of each day. You did have to set yourself up at beach early otherwise you may not get the spot that you wanted with some shade. This is typical of most resorts so not a big deal. Food was good however fruit choices were limited to mostly the melon family which I don’t like but the bananas and pineapple were very good. The steak house was our favourite and the food there was so good. I would definitely go back to this resort.

Wonderful resort.
Resort was big but easily accessible, the train ran regularly. Bungalow suites were well appointed and big and the resort was clean. Beach was amazing, soft white sand and seaweed was under control. Staff was friendly and helpful. From check in to check out we had no issues. At check in, Carlos M. was patient with our requests and helped with booking rooms close to each other as we were travelling with friends. We were able to keep one suite past the 12 noon checkout as we were coming back late. The restaurant manager Miguel Ramirez was helpful with booking the à la cartes and other aspects of our vacation. Food at the à la cartes was good, strongly recommend Samara (Indian) and the beach buffet was good, not a lot of variety but always found something to eat. Had breakfast and lunch at the buffet every day. They were grilling something and making palella every lunch hour on the patio by the beach. The main buffet was good, with lots of variety. The food and bar trucks at the beach were a nice touch. Have no problem recommending this resort to couples and families. We would have no problem returning to this resort. Travelled week of Mar 21-28/26.

Beautiful Resort
We were there during the school break and of course it was crowded. The resort is huge and the staff were prepared to handle the number of people with minimum issues. Resort and grounds are beautiful, with lots of birds and other wildlife. The beach was great except the amount of peddlers which continually disturb you. I counted 20 in ten minutes at our cot area. The pool is great with lot of cots. Rooms are very modern and cleaned daily, no issues. The buildings are three floors, but care must be taken when going up / down the stairs. The concrete steps and landing are similar in colour and easy to miss a step. Handrails would be a great safety addition to the stairwells. We went to three specialty restraints, steakhouse, Italian and Mexican and found the food very good. They also handled a food allergy without issue. We had breakfast and lunch at the beach buffet and food trucks. The buffet needs to be bigger as lines for the egg station or pasta station are long and interfere with access to other dishes. The utensils at the buffet for outside are plastic but steel inside except all spoons are plastic which for hot items and drinks can cause a problem. The biggest issue we found is the traffic flow of the trams, trucks and motor scooters. They drive on walking pathways between the buildings and can be dangerous. Overall we enjoyed the resort, and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Stay #2 in Bavaro GBP
It should be obvious that we really like this all-inclusive resort as this waa our 2nd stay. With so many choices in Punta Cana, that is saying something! We love the Platinum suites. They are spacious, modern, well located and the services are top notch. The reserved beach and loungers are great. The lounger bar service is great. Thanks to Ramon Perez and Anthony we had lots of tasty drinks! The food at the bookable restaurants is varied, tasty and well presented.

Beautiful resort
This resort is amazing . It is quite massive but the atmosphere is so beautiful. The eco walk was so cool with all the wildlife. We enjoyed all the peacocks, mascovy ducks and egrets and herons who own the place. So many a la carte and a beautiful beach and pool to enjoy. I will add that if you can afford make sure to go platinum because the exclusive buffet, grill and soho restaurant are worth the uncharted for sure

Very large resort
Had trouble with our room, door wouldn't close, had no hot water and our phone didn't work to call the front desk. Good thing we went with friends so they were able to help. We had to ask a grounds keeper to help us with the door as no one ever showed up. Some days we never had a room cleaning, so no replacement of water in fridge or coffee and no clean towels. Disappointed with lack of entertainment at night, just a Dj playing music

Large, wide and fun!
Clean, well-organized resort with courteous staff. Loved the peacocks roaming around - I didn't know they can "scream" so loudly. Food trucks? really? Those were my first thoughts. Boy, they came in handy so close to the beach wen I needed energy to battle the waves. I could have all the wings and burittos while listening to country music coming from "El Gaucho." Great variety of food, with fish, including made on the spot sushi. The resort beer and resort wine is the resort beer and resort wine. Would have loved a shot of rum at the buffet. Super Bowl, what a party? If you get stuck on small things like your fridge is not being refilled fast, you may need to look somewhere else. Want to bring back souvenirs? Get them at the resort. Super pricey and limited variety at the airport. Would go back and recommend.

Excellent Beach Vacation
We just returned from our one-week stay (February 4–11) and had a wonderful experience overall. We chose the Platinum section and were very happy with that decision. As beach lovers, the location was perfect for us. We stayed in Building 67, conveniently located between the Platinum Reception and the Cappuccino Coffee Bar — about a five-minute walk to the beach. Our room faced the Tropical/Caribe/Punta Cana Princess resort (where we stayed two years ago), with a vacant lot in between. While the view wasn’t the highlight, it certainly didn’t matter given how little time we spent in the room. The room itself was one of the nicest we’ve had — very modern, and most importantly a comfortable bed. Toiletries were provided (great for anyone who prefers not to pack full bottles), and the minibar was well stocked with water, pop, and beer. Complimentary full bottles of rum, vodka, and scotch were also included, with additional bottles available for purchase if needed. We appreciated that the room key was part of the resort bracelet — no worrying about lost cards! We used the app to book our à la carte reservations. Reservations open weekly on Sundays for the upcoming week (for example, you can’t book Monday on Saturday). We weren’t limited in the number of restaurants we could try, which was fantastic. The filet mignon at El Gaucho was excellent — I ordered it medium well and it was cooked perfectly. The pizza at Focaccia was also very good. The only slight disappointment was the food trucks, where the fries were cold and my hamburger didn’t seem fully cooked, so I chose not to eat it. Otherwise, we found the food to be very enjoyable. We visited the main lobby area twice for evening entertainment. The theatre space appeared to be set up in a conference-style room and didn’t have programming on the nights we checked. There was live music in the open lobby area, which we enjoyed. We did stop by the sports bar and were surprised that games like pool, air hockey, and foosball had an additional fee. At $8 Canadian for a game of pool, it felt a bit pricey for an all-inclusive resort. Most of our time was spent at the beach. We never had difficulty finding chairs. My husband would head down around 7 a.m., and we would go straight to the beach after breakfast. There is beach service as well as a beach bar. The PBG rooftop bar is a great space, though it can be quite windy and cool in the evenings — I was glad to have a long-sleeved jacket along. One thing to note is that the Platinum section is not adults-only. This didn’t matter for us, but it may be helpful information for others when booking. The majority of the staff were friendly and accommodating. There were a few minor service hiccups, but nothing that detracted from our overall enjoyment. All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this resort to other travellers looking for a relaxing beach vacation!

Very nice resort
The resort was well kept, rooms were clean and modern. Air conditioning worked very well. Beach was incredible! One interesting experience was the peacocks! They were everywhere and very tame and so beautiful. Pool was gorgeous. Only things that could be improved on are entertainment and having more golf carts to get around (however we were there at full capacity). Wifi kicked you out a bit and it was frustrating signing back in. In saying this I’d highly recommend this resort with these items being minor.

Relaxation, spectacular scenery and great service!
Visited Grand Bavaro Nov 27 thru Dec 11th. Our 4th time at the resort and stayed in building 5 near the pool and beach. Rooms are getting a bit tired with some minor maintenance issues and soon due for new furniture but were spacious and well appointed. Our room was equipped with a dehumidifier which helped to reduce the musty smell. If the air conditioning worked properly and was kept “on” I suspect mustiness wouldn’t have been an issue. Visited most restaurants…favorites were el Gaucho (steakhouse) and Wasabi (sushi) were standouts. Also enjoyed Samara, Focaccia, Il Tartufo. Ate breakfast and lunch daily at, Trapiche, the beach buffet (and food trucks). Service was incredible. Staff were so willing to do whatever possible to ensure vacationers expectations were met and exceeded. Beach is the best in the area. The resort has a huge stretch of beach with great depth from palms to the ocean, even at high tide. Water is normally quite rough but rarely too rough to enjoy! Although we didn’t frequent the pool, we walked by it many times each day. The work effort of cleaning it was apparent at all hours of the day. We did have some minor stomach issues and saw incidents where food handling could definitely be improved upon, but overall it’s apparent that food service is well managed. When walking or sitting out at night, use bug spray. Although they spray the resort daily, we did have a few bites and found bug spray nightly to be beneficial. So, the rooms are nice…but a bit tired. The food is very good for a resort. The beach is beautiful and a good part of the reason we go to the resort but, the primary reason we will continue to go is the service! Wait staff usually work two locations so rather than review each restaurant, a shout out the the spectacular service of Juan Dario, Pedro, Bares, Wilfred, Antoine, Yesel, Juan and Eddy who did a absolutely spectacular job looking after folks at the beach buffet all day and then taking their skills to Al La Carter’s in the evenings. A shout out to Angel, Alexis and Ramon who did a great job serving folks from the “bar truck” and to Scarlet who managed the door at the beach buffet. Would definitely recommend the resort. All resorts have some drawbacks but the staff at this resort make the difference. They want to know what they can do to make your time better…so if you are disappointed with something, address it politely and move on to enjoying your stay!

Large Resort
The front desk staff were accommodating when our first room smelled of mold. The rooms were large in size with a separate seating area. The resort has a beautiful beach that they kept clean to the best of their ability. The pool was busy but you could always find a chair. Drinks were delicious and food was delicious. I would recommend taking a taxi from the airport, as we waited over an 1 hr to leave then had to drop people off at different locations. We didn't get to the resort until 3 hours from landing.

Too Many Problems
Not Worth the Money – Disappointing Stay at Grand Bavaro Princess I stayed at Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana and was genuinely disappointed with the overall experience. Cons far outweighed any positives. The main pool was dirty, and it was clear that drink cups weren’t properly washed — I had lipstick marks left on several cups, which is extremely unhygienic. The food was repetitive and lacked variety — same dishes every day with very limited options. The beach, while having white sand, was often covered in seaweed, and there were days when no one came to clean it at all, which made it unusable. In the room, the AC never got cold, and despite raising the issue with staff, it was never fixed. The fridge didn’t cool drinks, the shower head was falling from the ceiling, and we never received a TV remote, even after asking multiple times. The resort shuttle was unreliable, always overcrowded with long waits (usually 10 minutes or more), and getting around the resort became frustrating. On top of that, staff were constantly pushy about selling products or upgrades, even when we politely declined multiple times. One of the most unacceptable parts of our stay was experiencing racist behavior on five separate occasions, which staff either laughed off or ignored completely. That alone made the trip uncomfortable and disheartening. The only positives were that the resort felt safe, and the white sand beach (when clean) was beautiful — but that’s about it. Overall, I would not recommend this resort. Poor service, lack of cleanliness, repeated disrespect, and overall neglect made this vacation memorable for all the wrong reasons.

Great resort!
This was my first time being at a resort, and I must say, I picked a good one! The grounds and landscape of this resort was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen, and the rooms were all newly renovated, with stand alone tubs, huge showers, and two sinks. The balcony was very big and the whole room was modern looking. Now onto the food… most people say that you don’t go to a resort for the food, but I was proven wrong. The buffet was average, but had good options still, but the al la cartes were amazing! Specifically the Italian pizza, Italian pasta, and teppanyaki, were all fancy style top quality restaurants I’d see at home. The pool was big with a swim up bar, beach was great with comfy chairs and white sand, and the staff was amazing!

Mostly "grand" vacation
Bus transport from the airport: I would NOT recommend - pay for the taxi. Our driver was reckless & aggressive which made for a very scary drive to the resort. Check in/out: Quick & easy, we asked for a room close to the beach and Christopher did a wonderful job making that happen. Grounds: The grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained, the gardeners and staff are doing an amazing job! Transporation on the resort: The trolleys are an incredible way to get from one end of this resort to another and are frequent. I don't think we waited past 5-10 minutes ever. Room: We were in the main section of the resort; we did not upgrade. We were in building number 32. Our room was beautiful, and the maid service was impeccable. Our fridge was also stocked daily. One complaint is there is no way to latch the door in your room from the inside - no chain slide etc. (we had a friend travelling alone and she placed the Do No Disturb sign up and was taking a shower, the man restocking her fridge ignored the sign and entered - she had to holler at him asking him to come back later - this is why an interior latch is very much appreciated) On one of the days, we had already received both maid service and our fridge restock, we had been back to our room and upon leaving we put the do not disturb sign on our door. We headed back to the beach and realized we had forgotten something, when we returned there was someone banging on our door, when we asked what he was looking for and explained it was our room, he ignored us and walked away talking on his radio. It was very odd & suspicious. The beach: GORGEOUS!! The beach is beyond beautiful, and staff work hard making sure sargassum/seaweed is cleaned every morning. The only negative about the beach are the amount of cigarette buts people are leaving there - they were everywhere around the chairs & palapas. Pool: We did not utilize the pool. Food: The food was really good, the small buffet close to the beach had a more limited selection but was super convenient for both breakfast & lunch. The larger buffet did have a larger selection. a la carte: We booked 3 a la carte's during our 7 days, the first was El Gaucho, the steakhouse which is a buffet during the day. We are steak lovers. It was ok. Our order was partially cold, and the meat overcooked, even after asking for medium-rare. Our second was Focaccia - pizza/italian. It was good, but not great. Our third was Il Tartufo - this is HIGHLY recommended! It was amazing. We sat on the deck overlooking the water display. The food was so good, for our main dish we ordered the beef tenderloin, and it was amazing and full of flavor! You could cut it with a butter knife (which is all they have throughout the resort) OH and the tiramisu is absolutely divine!! Service was mostly excellent throughout the resort. Maytte in the main buffet was our most memorable, she was amazing and always greeted me with a smile & a hug. She was very attentive and refilled our water and wine glasses regularly. Milagros was also very attentive. Cappuccino coffee shop: Amazing! Be sure to visit! The coffee and treats are absolutely wonderful. They also have a beautiful white, long-legged bird that frequents the cafe and is apparently not opposed to a croissant treat. Cafe del mar: This is an amazing quieter area on the beach away from the main section. They also have amazing coffee, drinks and sheltered seating on the beach. Peacocks: Be prepared and maybe bring ear plugs. There are peacocks everywhere. The last few days of our trip we had one outside our room and the provided a few unwanted very early (5-5:30 AM) wake up calls. They are beautiful, but very noisy. On our second last day, my partner became ill with a gastro issue and spent the last full day stuck in our room. (The evening before, wait staff were seen pouring wine from glasses back into a bottle - went looking when they hadn't returned to provide drinks and were found drinking at a table themselves.) We also discovered that the "single use" plastic drinking glasses are also being taken from tables, the beach and garbage cans and being rinsed in water and reused. This is likely contributing to the number of people who are getting gastrointestinal issues. We also had a leak in our ceiling in the toilet room. Staff were quick to come stop the leak but also left a big mess of drywall type dust everywhere. I also became ill almost immediately after returning home. We heard others on the resort stating they had the same issue, but we also spoke with other travelers at the airport who stayed at different resorts, and they had the same issue.

Average Resort - Grand Bavaro Princess
In general, our stay was enjoyable. That was mostly due to having visited the resort the year previous so we knew what to expect and how to find the things that were most enjoyable for us. Unfortunately, however, there were some issues. We had an important sewer pipe leak just outside our room resulting in a flooding of the general area with contaminated and repulsive smelling raw sewer. Thankfully, the winds were moving away from our room so the affect was at least limited by that. The hotel staff were quick to respond to the problem and they had it mostly repaired within a day. The a la carte restaurants had nothing to offer to our taste. We were aware of that from the previous visit. We used the buffets exclusively. The food there was predictably good and predictably poor: Good: chicken, pastas, breads, pork ham, pizza. Poor: beef, lamb, deep-fried fish all of which was mostly inedible. Pools were nice, especially the quiet pool. Ocean was what it always is - cool and refreshing. Beach well cleaned and the locals selling goods were not overly pesky. Overall, we have had worse stays (in Cuba mainly), but we certainly have had better also.

Wonderful resort
I have stayed here numerous times... the beach is excellent, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, the food was fine, the pools are nice....I don't really have anything negative to say except the fridge in the room did not work well and noise can be an issue if your room is close to the main lobby entertainment area. These resorts are generally all pretty nice so I think a lot depends on what factors are most important to you.

Larger resort split by a mangrove into platinum and regular suites (3 floors of 4 suites). Platinum section is close to beach. Must use a golf cart train to move around from beach to main lobby areas. Many top notch restaurants but best for us was Italian and East Indian. Many peacocks wandering around, who can be loud. Platinum plan is worth it!

Lovely Resort But Very Big!
With more than a thousand rooms/suites this is a very larger resort, however it's not a cause for concern as we were well-served by everyone. Our deluxe king bungalow suite was clean, pleasant and spacious; not very far from the large pool and the beach. (unit 0923) The nicest room we have ever had!! The beach was large and was well situated but could use more lounge chairs as they were hard to come by. The pool could be a little cleaner as it was packed with children and babies (some with no diapers). Lounge chairs were available if you got there early. The buffet near the beach (breakfast and lunch) was quite good and plentiful. It became an a la cart steakhouse at dinner (ate there twice and it wasn't very good). We tried the Mexican one night and it was fair so we stuck with the buffet. The beer served was Presidente on tap and isn't the best but was drinkable. The cleaning staff attended to our room and the mini bar was stocked with water, Coke and a couple cans of Presidente beer. The bar/lounge in the main building was a great place to have a drink and listen to some live music and to play cards in. The grounds are immaculate and the shuttle train made the large grounds less of an issue. There's some evening entertainment in the theatre and we took in a Michael Jackson tribute show which was quite good. The wait staff everywhere was excellent as was the bell staff. There was always plenty of hot water to take a shower and lots of clean towels in our suite. All in all we were very pleased with the resort, but wouldn't return as we prefer adult only resorts. If you have kids give this one some thought.

Amazing Hotel for our Anniversary
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Grand Bavaro Princess for the second consecutive year, and it was an unforgettable experience. We stayed in the Platinum section, which offered exceptional amenities and personalized service. The resort's grounds are beautifully maintained, with lush vegetation and a serene atmosphere. The food was excellent, with a variety of options to suit every taste. We particularly enjoyed the PBG rooftop patio and the private beach area, which provided a tranquil setting for relaxation. The staff were friendly and attentive, making our stay truly special. This resort is perfect for those seeking a peaceful getaway, as it is not a loud or party-oriented destination. We would definitely return for another anniversary celebration. Just avoid the “Orange Shirt” folks in the golf carts. They are selling timeshares and very pressuring. Just say no politely and keep walking, they eventually get the hint!

This hotel featured beautiful grounds and very nice staff, they kept us very hydrated by the pool often coming to replenish drinks. I wish that solicitors did not come to us so often offering excursions and spa packages when relaxing by the pool, even after saying no they often spent time trying to convince us. Beach was beautiful, but again many people on the beach selling items relentlessly. The room was nice, however was in need of some work in the washroom, the shower water often smelled of sewage and had to call twice to get our safe fixed. Food was fine, however it was VERY difficult to get reservations at al a cartes, only able to get to the steakhouse on our last night which was disappointing. The buffets had many options which was nice for picky eaters!

Beach is fantastic, never had a problem finding shade or a beach chair. Rooms were clean and modern. We were platinum and were close to beach platinum pool coffee house etc. The check in went great and quick with Juan and we were able to eat at PBG after getting to our room. The restaurants (steakhouse Mexican Italian Tanuki) as well as the Sports bar and main buffet were good. The rooms clean and mini fridge stocked and restocked daily, The beach is excellent we did not get to the main pool and the platinum and quiet pool were busy. The grounds are immaculate. The Royal people are there but didn't seem to bother anyone that we saw. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort as the price vs. resort makes it one of the best we have been to.

Not like it used to be
This was my 6th trip to this resort, the first time there since 2018 and all of the "upgrades". The staff, as usual, were the absolute best, they are and have always been my favourite part of the resort. I was very impressed by the new buildings and the new pool area in the Platinum part of the resort. I was not a huge fan of the new Platinum Lounge. Nice area, I guess I just like the old one better, and that's just me. I found that the buffet restaurants pretty much had the same meals morning, noon and night day after day. They used to have a different selection each day. The Absolute favourite part of the trip, as usual, was the Platinum Beach Bar!!! The people who work there are the absolute greatest, they should really work hard to keep all of those people working there, as I'm sure they are the Best!!!!

This was my 4th time to this resort, since the renos/expansion, the food quality has dropped a lot, level of service also dropped, although some staff is amazing.. service at Rebel 24-7 was terrible.. Also, being woken up 5:30-6am every day by screaming peacocks was not very fun...

Amazing Resort!
Beautiful resort with lots of ammenities and filled with lots of lush and rich greenery. Calm and peaceful and large to walk around and enjoy. Beach, hotel room, restaurants were all very well kept and provided many options. Pools nice and relaxing (although one was in need of some cleaning) and the food options at all the restaurants were great. Gym and spa also available for relaxing/workout.

Amazing
Everything about this resort was top notch. The a la carte bookings were very easy and unlimited, The rooms were great. The only recommendationd I would make is increase the hours of the Cappuciano Cafe in the evening. It would have made an excellent spot to enjoy a coffee after supper.

A Family Fun Week in Paradise
Last minute, Sandra Taylor, travel agent from Trip Central.ca, helped me plan an all inclusive package to The Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana. This was a family holiday with my husband, daughter and 3 1/2 year old grandson. This resort exceeded our expectations! The whole resort was recently renovated during the pandemic. Our rooms were 5 star with very comfortable beds, tastefully decorated separate living room areas and beautiful spa like bathrooms with included large showers and deep soaker tubs. The rooms were spotlessly clean and fresh towels were available daily if you wanted. All the rooms are in three storey buildings which is really nice to not be in a high rise. Our building 42 is located in between the beach and the lobby. A trolley constantly runs between the beach and lobby but from our room it is a short 10 minute walk to either location. The park like grounds are immaculate! Peacocks and an assortment of ducks have free range on the property. The is also an ecological trail over a pond filled with turtles and ducks which delighted my grandson. The beautiful sandy beach is probably one of the nicest beaches in the world! Daily, we went for long strolls on beach and enjoyed jumping the waves with our grandson. The large pool and children’s pool are close to the beach. My grandson loved the slides and sprinklers in the children’s pool. We all enjoyed the large pool with daily entertainment at 4 pm. Both pools were clean and well maintained. There was a large variety of food at both the lobby and beach side buffets. The à la cart restaurants are all booked online which was challenging for me as I was trying to book 6 people from 3 three separate rooms. However, the kind gentleman at guest services services made the reservations for me. We found the food and service at all of the restaurants to be very good. Our only minor complaint was the spotty free wifi. This was problematic at times as the resort is basically paperless, menus, activities and excursions are all online. I did purchase data on our last day to ensure I would receive transportation to the airport and flight notifications. That was only one little glitch! My family had a most wonderful experience at this resort.

Rooms were not as updated as they should have been. Employees did not speak or understand English. Reservations at the restaurants were hard to make. For a renovated hotel, it wasn't as renovated as it should be. Freddy in Guest Services was amazing!

Amazing Resort!
The resort was very clean and the grounds were kept immaculate. We loved this resort. It was quiet and for couples and families. The beach was incredible and the food was very good! We enjoyed the buffet lunches on most days and went to the restaurants for dinner. We really enjoyed them. I would recommend this hotel to those who need to relax and get away. It was a lovely vacation and we hope to return soon. We did not use the pools because the beach was the very best in our opinion. Many other people used the pools and seemed to enjoy them as well. There is a specific section for children which I think was appropriate. We stayed in Platinum and it was quiet and peaceful. We really enjoyed the Cappucino place closeby for coffee drinks and desserts throughout the day, which was a nice way to relax before dinner.

Beautiful resort
loved this resort, stayed in the family all suites section, may 22-29, 2024. Travelling with my husband, daughter and grandson. the family section is close to restaurants, main bar, entertainment. favorite restaurants, la tratoria, la hacienda and the Tapanyaki was amazing. Santos our chef was very entertaining 24 pub available and the main buffet was very good too. huge selection. the young man who cooked my fresh omelete each morning was so delightful, as well as the staff who work hard each and every day to ensure you have a great vacation. i dont have all of their names however appreciated their wonderful service. Please tip them, alot of visitors dont leave anything which is unfortunate, they work so hard, there from breakfast to supper, working 12 days straight. this resort is huge, if your a beach person, you would need to take the train from the family section. we could have walked however, beach gear and a 2 1/2 year old, it would have been hard. the beach is pretty busy, lots of people reserve the shaded beach chairs very early dominican requires a $20 US departure tax to be paid at the airport...wish sunwing would just include this in their billing,

Amazing Restaurant Staff
The beach area was always clean as was the pool area. Activity staff were energetic and creative with their activities. Staff worked hard to provide interesting special occasion entertainment, e.g. for Valentine's Day. The chefs provided a wide variety of foods at every meal. Most impressive was the restaurant staff. Staff were extremel hard working, efficient and professional. They were always cheerful and attentive. In particular, I would like to mention Joselo and Jesenia who were a pleasure to see every day. They are a real asset to the Resort.

Unexpected (negative) surprise
Initial impressions were all good and resort had been refreshed since we were last there about 10 years ago. The unpleasant surprise came Friday afternoon when it became excessively crowded with 'locals' who came in for the weekend at a heavily discounted rate and there to party. Two plus days of crowded, noisy, and rudeness. For those of you that say 'good opportunity to mix with local culture', I'd argue that three days of unlimited booze and food is not a good sampling of 'local culture'. I enjoy meeting people and exploring other cultures but don't enjoy losing a third of my vacation to a frat party environment. Put a big damper on the trip and won't return to the resort.

Good resort
The resort ground were very good and well maintained. The food was very good reasonable choices. The room was excellent. The beach was very good, always place to sit, not to much sargassum. Pools cleanliness not to my standard. The staff was generally good, had some issue with the host at one a la carte. We had many issues with the app not working but every issue we had was resolved to our satisfaction by guests services witch one employee really excelled. Please note depending on room type (bungalows suite, family club & platinum) different booking time to a la carte are different. Eg. family club has 3 days in advance and bungalows suite has 1 day. Overall a very good resort for family.

Better resorts out there
Grounds well maintained and clean, pool and beach also well maintained and cleaned and beautiful, the food and service was horrible, food was repetitive and didn’t have much at times or selection. The restaurants for reservations were horrible. The whole resort works off of wifi for menus and reservations, however the system the week we were here crashed several times and they had no backup as to what to do, we asked a few workers and no one seemed to know anything just kept whirling you around in circles, locals are allowed on the beach and bagger you to buy items every 5 mins, and let’s not forget the fact out of a 7 day stay we had to call 5 times out of the week cause our maid didn’t out towels in the room and when you call they would say we are sending someone now and you would wait hours and not for just towels for a cart ride or anything for that matter, safe didn’t work in our room we called and no one ever came to fix it, our fridge didn’t work for 4 days and finally someone came on the 4th day to fix it after being persistent. Save your money, I am sure there are better resorts out there. Not worth the money we paid that’s for sure!

Spectacular Hotel.
Most people that review only comment on the negative. I will try to be as honest as I see it. Generally the hotel is very impressive and mostly in excellent repair and upkeep. The weather was flawless, even if for me it was too hot. The staff is very attentive and accommodating. They do not have their hand out for tips and provide quality service regardless, but do appreciate a gratuity. The buffet food is above average and in abundant supply and variety. The A-La-Carte restaurants were engaging, fun and offered some interesting experiences. We visited Wasabi (Japanese, beware of insect bites if you sit along the pond seating area) The variety of birds that inhabit the adjacent pond area are entertaining to watch and very active. Foccacia (Italian,Pizza), Nice restaurant. The Pizza was ok, pasta was terrible and the capresse salad below par. Tanuki (Benihana style) was fun with an entertaining reasonably skilled chef, food was ok except the overly tough and chewy beef. Overall a fun experience. ElPescador (seafood). Not outstanding, overly bright seating area where we sat. 24/7 Bar and Grille. American style sports bar with TVs and some entertainment. Snacks and drinks 24 hr. Menu based food service as well. Good AC if you want to beat the heat. It was the most comfortable place for me. El Gaucho (steak) We went twice. Good the first time not so good in a big way the second time. Tough meats, confused waiters, "The Food Trucks" plus a daily change up of added food choices at an added serving area beside the food trucks. All close to the beach. There was a salad truck which was probably the best, also a hamburger, hot dog and french fry truck (good hot dogs and ok fries but bad hamburgers) The chef was a great guy though. In addition there was a bar truck with great service and very accomodating servers. In front of the food trucks there is a large covered/shaded sitting area. Good for people watching. There is a very nice coffee bar (now called Cappuccino was called Frappuccino) Great coffee drinks, cold and hot, and excellent pastries. Bad hours though. Only 10am till 6pm. I think it should be open earlier and open later. It is a nice place to sit with a small pond in front. The ocean was a bit rough, varying depths as you walk out, gets better past first wave roll. Seaweed is becoming a bit of an issue but the hotel does their best to clean it up. Beware of invisible insects. We used insect repellant but still got several painfull and itching bites that do not show up until days later and last for up to a week. You do not see or feel the bite as it happens. Avoid dining at Wasabi pond side seating and walks through the nature area. Cover up and use insect repellant and you should be ok. The grounds are very well kept The hotel is well staffed with an attentive staff. There was little to no preventive measure obvious for prevention of covid. There were few to no hand sanitizers to be found and there was little reminder of social distancing. However there appeared to be a ongoing cleaning attempt by staff. The shuttle was usually a little crowded and wait times sometimes extended. We walked a lot and probably why we got so many bites. During peak time there should be added shuttles. Wildlife is abundant. The rooms were clean, spacious and modern with a daily stocked mini bar Most beach vendors were not overly aggressive. Beware of monkey and parrot photo opportunity scams on the beach. One guest was charged $150 USD for photos. He was NOT happy! The washrooms were clean and well serviced and easy to find The main pool entertainment at 4 pm was always high energy. The hotel is well run. I would recommend this hotel. They do their best, Great place for families too.

Very nice resort.
I found the resort to be very big for my liking. Although trolleys were readily available. Grounds were beautiful and the resort was very clean. My room was amazing. The main pool water was a little cloudy and it could use a refurbishing. It would be nice to have drink service at the pool and on the beach. The restaurants were all very good and service was excellent. The buffet table service wasn't the greatest. It was hit & miss. It would also be nice to have some type of shows or entertainment in the evening. I had an amazing vacation.

Amazing vacation !
My partner and I stayed in a bungalow suite, we did not upgrade to platinum yet still felt we had an amazing time and exceptional service . Our room was close to the beach building 33 . We had no issues with mosquitoes or lack of hot water as I’d seen in other reviews. The room was nice and very clean, beds were extremely comfortable . The beach was beyond beautiful.Food at the resort was very good , a variety of options for everyone. We especially enjoyed the omelette bars at the buffet in the morning and often booked the a la carte steak house in the evenings , it was exceptional. Staff were generally all very nice and accommodating, many could speak English and if not were patient and considerate as we tried to communicate with them. It was overall an amazing vacation and I hope to return soon ! My only complaint would be that breakfast isn’t served until 7 am and one day we did an excursion and had to be ready for 6:30am, we did go to the 24/7 pub hoping we could get breakfast there earlier but the only option was hotdogs and hamburgers . It wasn’t the end of the world still glad to be able to get something and it wouldn’t deter me from going again by any means.

Amazing Resort
Just returned from Grand Bavaro Princess on Friday March 31st. We absolutely have no complaints. The resort was beautiful and very clean. We loved our rooms and they were cleaned each day and fridge restocked. We ate at the main buffet and the beach buffet many times and also ate at 3 a la carte restaurants. The food was excellent in all locations. No complaints whatsoever. There were food trucks right outside the beach buffet and the food there was excellent also. The only complaint I can think of is the tiny spaces the airlines have for seats and aisle room. It is horrible sitting in those seats for 4 ½ hrs. Great vacation and would definitely go back!! Not bad
platinum buffet is always cold unless you get something cooked on the grill while you wait, the supposedly hot plates have the food uncovered on them with air conditioner blowing cold air down in the food & i asked for a fresh hot dish of potatoes and the guy carried them out with his bare hands so i said it was supposed to be hot and it felt like he had just got them and the veg out of the fridge. also if you are platinum & go to the main area to watch entertainment there is no area to get your international drinks they should have a little platinum bar in that area to accomodate the platinum guests who go to the entertainment the regular buffets are all hot & good so the chef at the platinum buffet should take a tip from the regular section buffet chefs

Grand Bavaro Princess February 2023
We had an amazing stay at the Grand Bavaro Princess in Punta Cana, on the amazing Bavaro Beach in February 2023. The hotel has been remodelled recently and is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are well appointed with a luxurious feel - all with balconies! The grounds are superb and tended to daily; we love the lush greenery that is everywhere! Beautiful birds - amazing peacocks - everywhere you look! The food in the buffet was typical but flavourful - if you can't find anything to eat at the buffet, then there is no pleasing you. There is an app to download to book the restaurants; we found it difficult to get a decent time; we were unable to book into a few of the restaurants. The food and service was exceptional! We normally do not go to larger resorts, but the Grand Bavaro did not disappoint - there was so much space we never felt like we were too close to other guests! Plenty of palapas on the beach ~ beach service would be nice, but the walk to the bar is not far! A lot of local vendors on the beach but none of them harrassed us; we kindly said no thank you and they moved on. The beach is quite large compared to some neighbouring resorts and very clean!

Grand Bavario Princess
This resort was very nice. They had given us a room on the third floor which was a lot of stairs but the next day we were able to switch room closer to the pool and beach. The room was always cleaned well. The service was O.K. but we paid for premium and most of the time, there was not a server at the pool to get our drinks. The food at the buffet was cold. For diner, we went to the A la carte and the food was much better. The Soho Restaurant was a big disappointment. The staff were rude and never offered us desert. For all the A la carte restaurant, we had to downloads the app and order from there. They did not have paper copies of the menus. It was difficult to communicate with the staff in either English or French and was not able to get answers. There was no entertainment at all at night and no music. The Pub was very nice. The Sunwing Rep at the resort was no help at all. At our first meeting, he did not talk about the Resort but only wanted to sell us excusions. He was misleading with the document needed to leave Dominican.

Beautifully rejuvenated resort
This was our second trip to Grand Bavaro Princess resort. Our first was in January 2006, with many happy memories of a special place. We added to them on our second trip in January 2023. We understand that the Princess was fully renovated in 2019 and converted from two-story to three-story "multiplexes" room complexes at that time, and with other additional improvements. Both times we stayed in the Platinum section. It now has its own pool and beach section, two restaurants (PBG and SoHo), and a coffee and dessert café. We found the Princess section and the whole resort to be well-organized and well-run. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. A special shout out to Claudio and Tony, bartenders at the Platinum beach bar who could not have been more friendly, positive, welcoming, and attentive. The beach across the whole wide beachfront of the resort was well-kept (seaweed removed every morning) and secure (always had security personnel at all times during the day). We did not have any problem finding beach chairs/beds, as there sometimes is at other resorts in the area. The rooms were quite luxurious, with spacious sitting areas and balconies. There is even a mangrove swamp through which one can walk and get a glimpse of what the natural area was like before all the resorts were built. We have stayed at many different properties in Punta Cana in the last 15 years or so and there are in our opinion few better than the Princess.

Great resort
It was our first time to Dominican & we had a great experience. We upgraded to Platinum and were served with a delicious cold beverage upon arrival. The Platinum pool bar was where we spent most of our days. The bartenders were amazing and really took care of us. The beach overall was very nice but there was a lot of seaweed and we were approached often for excursions, spa packages and photos. The beach is on a long strip of other resorts. The a la carte restaurants overall were very good, especially the steakhouse and teppanyaki. Upgrading to Platinum gave us the option to make reservations at the restaurants. The crepes & coffee at the Frappuccino bar were the highlight of my afternoons. The staff were very friendly and the facilities were always clean. The only complaints I have about the resort are our room was never cleaned during the day and the water was not hot in the shower. We would leave our rooms around 8am and return around 4pm to a room that was not cleaned & no clean towels. I requested several days in a row for our room to be cleaned early in the day but it was not done. Some days it was not cleaned at all because it was too late in the day. Nonetheless, I would most likely return to this resort and I highly recommend it to others.

Beautiful resort but
The hotel grounds are beautiful, well maintained and the wandering peacocks and pink flamingos are beautiful. The beach is amazing and we never had a problem securing loungers. The staff are accommodating and the restaurants are very good. The only issue we had was there was no evening entertainment, no shows whatsoever. So there was really nothing to do after dinner except sit in the lobby or directly outside the lobby and listen to the piano or sax player (who were both great). And there is smoking permitted (think cigars, cigarettes and vaping) in the lobby bar which makes it very uncomfortable for non smokers. The rooms have either a king and Murphy bed or two TWIN beds. The Murphy bed was very uncomfortable.

Great resort
Very large hotel. I have been here previously 4 times. This resort has everything. Great rooms, amazing beach! Amazing pools and all kinds of food and restoraunts. I would like to say and consider this more of a family hotel. There is a casino just outside the resort. Outside the resort is very touristy and safe. The resort itself is beautiful. I met so many great people who have become friends of mine. There are people on the beach constantly Trying to sell excursions, cigars and souvenirs. But I either pretend to sleep or tell them u have no money. I stayed in platinum this time which gave me access to book reservations at restoraunts, free room service, robes and small perks. Platinum has its own restorants, lounge, beach and pool. If u have a family with children I don’t think platinum is necessary at all. Don’t know what else to say here other than it’s beautiful. Just DONT FALL or go with the people who wear blue shirts telling you that you will get a free gift! It’s pretty much a scam.

Amazing Resort but one of us had to sleep on a couch the first night
The resort was beautiful and the food was amazing. The only complaint I have is with the company that we booked with West Jet Vacations. For starters we tried for 2 weeks to book a seat on the airplane. That was a HOERRIBLIE experience to start. Everything was going well flying up till us waited in line to get into the country for over 3 hours. I understand this part with COVID. When we finally got though and found our bus. There were several people that were waiting for over 3 hours (one couple had baby) and we still had to wait for a few more people to arrive. We waited for another 1.5 hours before the others arrived so that we could leave to go to the resorts. This was ABSOLUTELY CRAZY. They should be leaving regularly to go to the resorts. Now that we were over 5 hours late we went to check in. We were a party of 3 girls and told we were to get a 2 bedroom suite with 3 beds. All they had was a king with a CURVED couch. Good thing one of the girls wasn't that tall and they could sleep on this. I would have had to sleep on the floor. The front desk said there was nothing in notes and we needed to check back with them the next day at 1pm to see if they could accommodate another room. We didn't get to unpack for 2 days. We paid for the PREMIUM package and we had to sleep on a couch. I will never use West Jet vacations if they don't try to make this right.

Amazing Resort!
Wonderful resort in all ways! We upgraded to Platinum and found good value. Great food in all the Platinum restaurants, beach lounges comfortable and both Platinum and regular pools very nice. That being said, the resort was not full so lots of options. The resort has just reopened after a significant upgrade to all rooms (added a third story to all buildings), the rooms were refreshed and the grounds, as usual, beautiful. A few new buildings were added as well as the new Platinum pool. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Minor issues we had were fixed within 10 or 15 minutes - we were treated very well. There were a few things not yet opened, i.e. the Coffee Bar and the food trucks, but all in all a very nice vacation. A side note - the walk in shower in the room does not have anywhere to put toiletries (a ledge would be nice to place shampoo and soap). Great resort and would definitely return!

We are very forgiving people but after our first complaint in regards to the staff and how loud and noisy they were we were told it would stop. It didn’t even after the second complaint. Amazing!!
No complaints on this resort, food was great, people were great, beach is amazing and drinks were great. My only recommendation is the Platinum should be 16+, the Platinum pool has no shallow end and little kids were in there with water wings, other pools and the water park would be better suited for the Children then the Platinum pool. It is a bigger resort but we never waited more than 5 minutes for a train.

The only resort for us
This was our second stay at the Bavaro Princess. The first was two years ago for our honeymoon and we had an incredible time. This time was for our 2nd wedding anniversary, and we had an even better time. We went with our 7 month old daughter. The staff made us feel like family, always smiling and attending to our little bundle of joy. This is definitely a family friendly resort. There was always a relaxing atmosphere and we were never bored, from the two great pools, the wonderful beach which was cleaned daily, the natural mangrove in the middle of the resort, the large suites with private entrances, and the great nightly shows with a talented crew which also entertained throughout the day around the resort. One tip is to have your breakfast buffet by the beach in El Gaucho for a more intimate experience instead of the sometimes crowded main buffet in the lobby. We plan on going at least yearly for the rest of our lives. We found our paradise.

Enjoyable Vacation at Bavaro Princess
Every effort was made to make the room comfortable. It was enjoyable to walk through the grounds and see the tropical plants, palm trees.beautiful flowers, flamingos and peacocks. Great care was taken to keep the grass and plants watered and looking beautiful. The room was cleaned and necessary items such as towels were supplied. If we needed anything, all we had to do was call and it was provided without delay. The people were very friendly and made every effort to make our visit enjoyable. Manfre and Daniel at the reception were very helpful. Jordan was so energetic and entertaining teaching dance and aerobics at the beach. The various restaurants and the food was well prepared and delicious.

Perfect holiday
Beautiful resort. The grounds were well taken care of on a daily basis. The staff was fantastic. Our 4th time at this resort. We brought my sister for her 1st all inclusive and she was very impressed! The only item is that the rooms are a bit dated, other than that we could not have asked for a more relaxed and pampered holiday!

Tranquil and relaxing
the hotel is very clean and modern, staff is professionial and inviting. This was our first time to punta cana and were already plannimg our next trip back to the same hotel. The beach was very clean and there was always enough lounges. Overall it was a amazing first trip. So thankful for the great weather and people. Only downfall would be the aggressive sales people everywhere.

Amazing Resort....
This is a large resort, and very amazing. The people there are so polite and the service was great. The rooms are very nice and could use a little update(Gardenview). But other than that I have nothing negative to say, highly recommend this resort to anyone.

Stunning resort
A great resort, fantastic rooms, staff is great food good, but the recreational staff need to do more with guests. In a whole week they only got the guest doing games once for about an hr. They played more volleyball than the guests as some guest sat on the sidelines waiting to play while they were playing, shouldn’t happen it should be for guests to play and they supervise unless short. Other resorts keep their guest busy all day playing and participating in games all day every day. It makes a big difference for most people. This is the 3rd time with this group of 20 last time 30, will prob be our last, I would recommend this hotel if you just like to sit and relax

Great resort
The resort was well kept. The food was great and you had a lot of choice of restaurants. My favorite one was the Steakhouse. Amazing filet mignon! The staff from reception, breakfast, lunch, dinner and the resort were all so friendly. They were all there to help you. The only thing that I would have to complain would be the entertainment at night. The room very nice. Beach and pool great. Lots of peddlers on the beach coming to sell things to you but just have to say no and they walk away.

A bit run down
We had to upgrade when we got there due to the rooms booked being about a 15/20 min walk to the beach(not ideal with a baby). They have a tram that will take you around the resort however does not come consistently. Also a negative it runs by all day and all night. The grounds were well kept the pools were both dirty and old. The food was good however dinners at restaurants started at 6 Buffett was at 6:30: found this to late with a young child to actually enjoy any dinner. The beach was nice with lots of shade.

Nice 4 star resort.
Resort was pretty nice. Not a five star but a solid four star for sure. Nice wide beach good size swimming pools. Suites were large. Platinum club not worth the extra money unless money comes easy to you. Takes time to get any issues resolved - like 4 days to get ac replaced. Food and drinks were ok. Beach vendors and seaweed not an issue. Wait staff was ok. Like really nothing to say wow. Just an ok place to take a break at. Would I go back. Yes for the right price- which would be around $1200 for the week.

Best part on Barvaro Beach
The whole resort was beautiful and well maintained. Gardens were beautiful food was good, drinks were on the sweet side, wine was OK but not great. Main Pool and beach was awesome. Kept warm and clean and the ocean was pristine and also warm. there was alot of seaweed washing up. but they were constantly bagging it up and removing it. The food was good and we had no gastro upset. A la cartes were good and alot of fun. Great mariachi band, funny guys! Met some great people and really enjoyed our trip. Rooms were well maintained and beautiful, even if you stay in the basic ones. The resort is big so you are forces to use the shuttle, but they run frequently. You are in the middle of Bavaro beach so you can walk both ways for at least an hour and a half each way. Loved it! Vendors were extremely pushy even on the night that the let them into the resort for market night. Rain forest is pretty in the day and at night and they have well lit trials to walk on thru them.I would definitely recommend and of the Princess resorts on Bavaro beach. We checked them all out on our walks, and I would stay in any one, whatever is cheapest!

Great spot! Would return!!
The hotel/grounds were huge. The place is immaculate, and beautiful. Had a great time, enjoyed the beach, and both pool areas. I personally never had a bad meal, one of our party did however have a bad steak (the striploin, it was horrible) at the steak restaurant. I would definitely return to this spot and would highly recommend to friends.
