Ok resort
The food was good in all the restaurants. The grounds were well maintained. Most of the staff were helpful and pleasant. The room we had was ocean view but not really it was harbour view where the cruise ships doc. There was no air in rooms on second floor they said they tried fixing it 3 times after 3 days of heat they moved us to other room that was a bit cooler. The tub in bathroom was all rusted and drain did not let water go down so had a shower standing in a bunch of water

Love this resort!!
I'm very happy with almost everything in this resort. Food, service, Beach, entertainment, friendly staff. Good to see giant cruise ship come and go. Bad point was............... There was no beer inside the room fridge, and room smells mold. Otherwise everything great. I want to go back there again.

Lovely Resort
The grounds and pool area are well maintained. The lighting at night is especially beautiful and the market place has a great vibe, with shops, ice cream and pizza venues. Lovely area to take strolls and lots of seating options. The entertainment crew work hard to involve guests and we (party of 7 ranging 11 to 80 got involved), Food in buffet and snack bar, excellent. A La Carte, bit of a let down. Sports Bar food, again not so great. Rooms are tired looking and there was issue with the toilets. Bed was AWESOME. We will come back, but will upgrade.

SECOND TIME BACK — AND SENATOR PUERTO PLATA DID NOT DISAPPOINT! We just got back from another AMAZING family vacation at Senator Puerto Plata, and this time was even more special because we came back with our family and booked SIX ROOMS! This was our second time staying at Senator, and we are so happy we decided to come back. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, the entire team continued to make us feel welcomed, appreciated, and like family. This is exactly why we came back — and once again, you did not disappoint! A special thank you to Karen and your entire crew on the same shift. Thank you for everything you did to make our stay so enjoyable and memorable. Your kindness, hospitality, and attention to us and our family truly meant so much. A HUGE THANK YOU to all the amazing people who took care of us during our stay! BREAKFAST CREW — YOU GUYS’ ROCK! Our mornings were always better because of the wonderful breakfast crew. Luigi — our Egg Master! Always with a smile, always friendly, and always making those eggs just right! Also a big shout-out to Nunez, Ana Maria, Hidalgo, Silvero and Junior. Thank you for your amazing service, smiles, and for making our mornings so enjoyable. You guys made breakfast feel like visiting friends! DINNER CREW A special thank you to Vargas and his crew for taking such good care of us during dinner. Your professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. We truly enjoyed our evenings! LARIMAR BUFFET / RECEPTION There was also a lovely lady at the reception at the Larimar buffet who took such good care of us. Unfortunately, I forgot her name, but I hope she sees this because we truly appreciate everything, she did for our family. HOUSEKEEPING Ana Rita— you were AWESOME! Thank you for always being so pleasant and for taking care of our room. The refreshment boys — we loved everything! Coming back to a clean, comfortable room and having our refreshments taken care of made our stay even better. And of course, Julissa, who took care of the public washrooms near the buffet area, always made sure they were spotless. She did such an amazing job! AND NOW… OUR BAR CREW! A HUGE shout-out to: Ariel • Alex, Eddy • Lopez • Manuel • Sony • Domingo • Maria • Wilinton, Ismamol and of course Claudia. You guys took care of us throughout our entire stay and you did NOT disappoint! Thank you for the great drinks, amazing service, laughs, conversations, and especially the good vibes. You made our time at the bar so much fun! FRUIT STAND And we cannot forget the lovely lady at the fruit stand in the mornings! She was always offering us freshly squeezed juices and starting our mornings off right. Thank you for your kindness and those delicious fresh juices! ENTERTAINMENT — WOW!!! EXCURSIONS Our excursions were truly an experience of a lifetime! We made so many wonderful memories with our family that we will never forget. WHY WE CAME BACK At the end of the day, what makes Senator special isn't just the beautiful resort, the food, the drinks, the entertainment, or Puerto Plata itself. It's the PEOPLE. The staff are what make you want to come back. We came back for our second visit, brought our family, and booked SIX ROOMS — and honestly, we are already talking about coming back AGAIN! Every single person who took care of us played a part in making this another unforgettable family vacation. 101% RECOMMENDED! We LOVE you, SENATOR PUERTO PLATA! And to every staff member we mentioned — and even those we may have forgotten to name — THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You made us feel like family, and that's something we will always remember. We just got home and WE ALREADY MISS THE PLACE! Until we meet again, Senator Puerto Plata! SERVICES THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU AND YOUR FAMILIA! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!

Surprisingly great!
The hotel was a great value. The hotel was clean, and our room was large, with a very comfortable bed. The main lobby was spacious and modern. Food was very good with lots of fresh options at the buffet for every meal. There is a beautiful amphitheater for the evening entertainment .. but the entertainment was poor, at best. The beach was lovely, and ideal to walk over to the souvenier shops to do a little shopping.

It offered the warm weather and beautiful scenery.
We are Canadians who love traveling to Cuba and normally visit 3–4 times a year. This time, we chose Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, and we were pleasantly surprised by the Senator Puerto Plata Spa Resort. The resort grounds are beautiful and well maintained. In the evenings, the pathways and gardens are beautifully illuminated, making it easy and enjoyable to walk around. The public washrooms were always very clean, which we appreciated. Our dining experience was excellent, especially at the Steak House, which was our favorite restaurant. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked very well throughout our stay, including in the room. The beach is not the resort's strongest feature, especially when compared to the beautiful beaches of Cuba, but it was still enjoyable and provided a relaxing place to spend time by the ocean. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our two-week stay and would not hesitate to return. A special thank you to Emmalay Serrano, our travel agent(Tripcentral), for her outstanding service. She patiently answered all of my questions regarding Sunwing and WestJet and provided valuable information and helpful suggestions that made our trip safe, comfortable, and stress-free. Her professionalism, knowledge, and patience were greatly appreciated.

MOLDY BAD RESORT!
We traveled to the Senator with excitement! We had Ocean View. The buildings all smelt of Mold. In our room for sleep and get up to lungs full and can't breathe. Off to Dr at next resort. My oxygen was very low and heart rate very high. I had to have an IV right away or he was sending me by ambulance. It was MOLD and spoke to some others on this topic. They all agreed moldy air-conditioning systems full of mold and dirt. We couldn't run air and had to leave balcony door wide open. Our neighbour's bathroom glass shattered in her hand and cut her arm all up. Glass everywhere and had Noone to clean it up until next day. Crazy!

Could be better
I'd like to give a Higher rating but fighting for chairs, be it pool or beach was no fun, ask the poor guy who had to babysit the chairs on the beach Noone was using with no ship in port, I had to comendere for myself and family one day literallynone to be had except the wmpty ones in the taped section. We stayed at playabachta last april 2025 and happened to walk over and see the Senetor which we said next year we'd try there and we did. Pros beautiful room I was given view of the cruise port and cruise ships pullen in. Cant use amber cove though not for anyone else but the cruise people, I loved it room 516 the view of water mountains wind turines and again the ships was awesome. however only freezing shower water though, and I mean freezing not even room temp. and a broken tv nobody came to fix upon several asks. but great wifi so didnt need it really . The Senetor has very limited beach with out rock on shore and the good part of it and chairs caters to the privilege people and the cruise people in a off limit taped off section sectioned off area full of chairs and no one using them better part of beach and the only beach bar service again for them only. Drinks are better at playa bachata more bars for sure over there seems more selection if you can walk the distance often. when it comes to the beach yes one could go down wayyyy farther near playa but the distance was way to far for my mother the heat and distance to our room was better to stay closer for her.another con people were saving seats at the pool at nite I dont mind early morning saving but not overnite for the duration of your stay quit rude and security i was told should be removing stuff no. not once was I able to sit at the pool our whole trip so busy not sure I'd wanna be in it very very full . A la catrtes were all booked up mostly. Weekends get crazy as locals come for it. Couldn't understand a word our rep was saying and he was very short in a hurry. The sports bar was great however always full extremely busy the Senetor could definitely use another bar lobby or piano just another not enough bars. The nitely Entertainment bounced back and forth from playa to senetor which sucks you have to get a seat early like 7 pm to get a good one sit and watch the lame kids Entertainment only to be told to go to other resort so I didnt see any or much Entertainment this time. There was one nite the buffet was to die for it was Saturday april 18th the choice of meat avaiable whole pig just wow. Some bar staff were amazing while others definitely not so happy half half sorta thing I found. Im not sure id return to Senetor maybe a swim up room. I am returning next april again and I'll be definitely looking at playa bachata or a swimup room maybe at senetor or totally more upgraded hotel with more bars and adults only area section pool etc. We will see. But the weather was amazing and Puerta Plata never disappoints me. I love this area of D.R. im forgetting something but for now this will do.

Average stay
We did enjoy our overall experience at the Senator. We had to upgrade our room, as the our assigned room was very old! Our new room was great, building 2, ocean view. This resort is VERY clean, rooms, and the grounds. The entertainment was prob not the best ..... But it was entertainment. The food was good, yet very repetitive, especially breakfast and lunch. Exactly the same everyday we were there. The drinks were very unimpressive. Juices were weak,.wine was awful, spent all week trying to find a consistent drink I liked. My hubby drank beer and he enjoyed it. The staff were mostly pleasant, except the people who try to sell "time shares, or whatever they call it, can get quite insistent and almost aggressive or even pathetic begging you to "Attend a 1 hour demonstration . We did not fall for their tactics. The pools were clean, but the music was too loud for us, so we spent most time at the beach towards the Playa bachata. Overall it was a nice vacation. Would we return to this resort? Probably not, unless it was an incredible price.

Love this resort. Everything is so clean: the rooms, the grounds, the pool and dining area. There is a good variety of food and lovely presentation. Can't comment on entertainment as I was in bed by 9. Enjoyed my meal at the Japanese restaurant. Didn't go to the other ones. Only complaint was 1 hour wait for lunch at snack bar.

The Senator Dominican
We just came back from the Senator Hotel in the Dominican Porta Plata. The Hotel was beautiful! Check in was easy and our room was ready at 3:30pm. Rooms are dated but clean and pleasant to sleep in. We purchased three garden view rooms but 2 of 3 were facing the local street littered with garbage and very loud! We went to the desk to complain and they at first gave me a hard time but switched our 2 rooms the next day. As we were packing a maid came in our room and asked me what I was doing. I told her that the hotel found me a different room. The maid then rolled her eyes and was upset with me. As we were leaving she was rude to my mother who had the other room and I told her she needs not to be rude to guests. She then tried to tell me she didn’t understand me. We found that most of the staff made you feel like a bother to them and occasionally you’d get an amazing staff member. Food in the sports bar was absolutely amazing except whoever thinks 3 wings is a serving is crazy! When we ordered 30 wings between the 4 of us they thought we were crazy! The food at the buffet was okay as you could always find something to eat. À la carts were great we book the Japanese and steakhouse. The always seemed to run out of Pepsi in the buffet and would bring sprite. They would run out of Diet Coke in the sports bar and at the pool bar their blender wasn’t working the whole week so you couldn’t get a blended drink. When they served you a daiquiri is was never frozen. They didn’t know how to mix drinks! Pool space was great! Little to no activities for kids and if there was it wasn’t posted so you would find out last minute. Beach is beautiful but some parts rocky. Definitely book the excursions for the paradise island and monkey land! We did both and definitely worth the trip! All in all it was a good trip but I wouldn’t go back to this resort!

Great value resort
This is a great resort in many ways , nice mid-size resort with multiple pools to please all and a decent beach . The food was great with lots of options and never to long of a wait time. The bars and staff were great with staff like David at the pool bar and Erica n Christy at sports bar working very hard and quickly so wait times for a drink were reasonable. The entertainment crew like monkey n skinny n crew did a great job getting people playing games who wanted to and miss Blondie got the kids enjoying games. The shows and beach party kept the night time moving along. If intrested in water activities in the ocean take a walk down the beach to the dive hut and talk with Chichi or Felix for a great diving experience or jetski rental or tubing or kayaking. This is a solid 4+ star , has everything you need unless you need huge crystal chandeliers everywhere and extravagant decors and crazy expensive alcohol to make you happy then pay double and go elsewhere . This is a family resort and have been here 2 times now with and without a group and have enjoyed both and looking at returning again.

Excellent Resort for the money
This was my second trip to The Senator and it did not disappoint. The attention to detail in cleanliness and ground maintenance was stunning. The beds were very comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, service was very good, food was quite good and the steakhouse was perfect. We were there for two weeks and enjoyed the hot weather and watching the cruise ships coming and going. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas at the pool and lots of chairs at the beach. Legends is wonderful, great service and great food. There are two pools, one is the party pool and the other is the quiet pool. The party pool has the swim up bar and the surfaces have been redone. The quiet pool does need to have the same resurfacing but that didn't stop us from using it. On the downside there should be more tables and chairs available for people to sit for coffee or play games and cards. It would have been nice to have regular soft drinks but all were diet. We were in room 1025, close to everything .The room was a bit dated but clean, we basically only use the room to sleep so all was good. Overall a great spot.

Family Vacation at New Year's
The overall resort is quite nice. The grounds are kept well. The pools are very nice, but can qet a bit noisy when the afternoon events start. The beach is quiet and very relaxing. The beach is in a bay so great for swimming and wading. There is very limited vendors on the beach so that was great. The dining options are pretty good and always could find something to eat. The a la carte restaurants were very good. The New Year's Gala was quite busy and then should have had at least one more seating as they only offered two seatings. The staff was very attentive and a pleasure to deal with. They took good care us at all times. The rooms need an update. The overall experience was great and our family would go back again.

Nice resort
Resort is situated in a beautify area of Puerto Plata. Resort grounds are very clean, with noticeable daily maintenance. Found the buffet very small with limited selections although food quality was good. Most days we had to run around looking for utensils, Coffee cups, glasses and plates. For some reason they cannot keep up with demand. They are likely understaffed as well. Servers are friendly and makes the place what it is. We booked Ambers and the Japanese restaurants. Japanese was good with a show. Ambers on the other hand disappointed. There were 4 of us ordering different dishes. I ordered ribeye. And clearly got a New York strip. Which was very tough full of connective tissues. My wife’s sirloin stake was way more tender and tasty. The beach is very nice and about a mile and a half long. Sand is fine to the waterline then it gets a little rougher with shell fragments. You don’t need a water shoe. Don’t walk on the reefs unless you want some painful experience.stepping on sea urchin. Basic rooms are dated but clean and well kept. A/C was not keeping up very much. Asked them to look into it twice, not sure if they did. We had several short power outages lasting 2-5 minutes each. Not a big deal. Overall the resort is nice and I would rate it a stretched 3.5. We would come back again if the price is right.

Our second home
A perfect 2 week stay from the moment we walked up to the front desk and Michelle said welcome home. We are so fortunate to have so many friends working at the resort including the entertainment crew Skinny, Monkey Black Shampoo and of course Dora. We were there on remembrance day and they stopped the music for our moment of silence followed by Oh Canada. Wow there were people in tears. Thank you all. As far as our room we were in 823 and it was without a doubt the nicest room we have been in since coming to the resort. Thanks Robin. It was a pleasant surprise to see our friend Alejandro the former manager had returned from Spain for a year or two. As for the food it was top shelf in the buffet. Enjoyed some steak on a bun courtesy of Juan Carlos for lunches. Our waiters Nunez, Jullien and Farera made sure we were well looked after. The girls in the morning in Legends made sure we had our morning coffee with a double tap of Baileys. Last but certainly not least kudos to all the ground keepers and cleaners for maintaining the resort to it's impeccable condition

Disappointed
The resort is beautiful, nicely laid out. In the junior suite assigned to us we had no water and the power was on and off making for a hot room. Customer service sent 2 different people to check and they came up with different ideas to what was wrong with our power and water, but no solutions. Finally they moved us in a different room with working air conditioner but the hot water still had no pressure and the cold working depending on what time you decided to come to the room and take a shower. Mostly we took cold showers for the rest of our stay. They had a big issue with securing enough towels for the resort and I didn’t understand why would they pick the towels that were NOT on the floor and change them when they didn’t have enough to replace them. Our sheets weren’t changed for the entire 10 day stay. Food quality and buffet: good, stay away from beef, is too chewy and not edible. Restaurants: We tried all three of them. Japanese restaurant is where I got food poisoning from ( chicken wasn’t cooked properly. After a had two pieces both of them uncooked I stopped, but it was obviously to late for me) I don’t recommend the Italian, but the steakhouse food was better and full, which resulted in a very slow service. Beach: there’s rocks in the water. Walk a little on the right side of the beach closer to playabachata resort for better beach. In all I would not go back to this resort

Beautiful Resort, disappointing food
Just came back from 2 weeks at the senator. We absolutely loved the resort, the layout was perfect, our room was really nice and overlooked the pools and the ocean. The bed was super comfortable. The pools were great, the beach was ok but we discovered the other beach on the cove where the cruise ships come in and spent a few great days down there, swimming and laying on the beach. The staff we awesome , all of them. The entertainment crew make the days so fun and we enjoyed the entertainment. Now the downfall, the food you are only allowed 2 ala carts a week and it's difficult to get reservations, we managed to try all 3. The Japanese was pretty good and we enjoyed the steak house. Unfortunately the only one we could go to twice was the Italian which was mediocre the first time and terrible the second. The sports bar served good snack foods , burgers, chicken burgers , nachos , fries etc. That left us a lot of breakfast/lunch and dinners at the buffet which was very repetitive, and really disappointing, and never hot. We ended up eating off resort a few times just because we couldn't face another nite at the buffet. If they improved the food I would highly recommend this resort but because foood is very important to us I just can't

Nice Resort
This is my second time at the Senator resort. The good points of the visit were, Michelle, Junior, Walkerlin, and Alexander. Those four people made the stay much better so thank you very much guys.! As I said, this was my second time here and when I was here two years ago, they had no hot water for the whole week, but this time they had lots of hot water. The food was delicious. The entertainment was good. The weather was not so good, but the resort doesn’t control that we had hurricane Melissa going by. The food at the Ember steakhouse and at Zao Japanese food was extremely good. There were a couple of small things that I think should’ve been taken care of . 1. The one large pool was under construction and was empty and we were never informed about this before booking our trip. 2. No one had told us that on the weekend. The locals get to come there on Friday evening until Sunday evening and have an all inclusive deal for the weekend, I found that the 500 to 700 locals that showed up took over pretty well everything, when it came to the buffet, it was like Locust Landing. I really liked the senator resort but in all honesty I don’t think that I’ll return there. Just a note - I only gave the beach and pool two stars because of the empty pool. The beach was very nice and very well kept.

Nice resort
The hotel is nice but rooms are outdated! rusty and holes in tubs, low water pressure. Cabinets ( closets) and dresser drawers got stuck. Cleaning staff does a good job cleaning the rooms just old. Air conditioner not great woke up some nights sweating. Buffet was good somedays we had to wait to get in too over capacity. Food quality and service in Buffet and A la Carte were great! Steak house was phenomenal. The Sports bar service was not great especially when ordering drinks, bartenders would overlook you and serve a local even though you were waiting 1st. Beach is beautiful well kept lots of chairs and shade. Pool was ok, some worn out areas, cracks in the concrete my son cut his toe. Not enough umbrellas in the pool area to protect from sun some shaded areas were available. Games and activities by the pool were good, entertainment staff were all great. Overall a good holiday but for the price the resort should update rooms.

Not the best place
We stayed July 8 to 15, 2025. First this resort caters to local clients so be aware of that. Weekend was full capacity, 90% local folks with a very crowded pool and long lines at buffet. Room: Oceanview luxury swimup. Room is on smaller size(not a junior suite). Not luxury by any means. First Room the swim up was filled with green algae. 2nd room was better but bad stink from shower drain. Covered with wet cloth when not in use. Maid service was good. They do rent rooms out on a nightly basis and had a local couple who had a pot party in the room next to us. They were smoking it in their room which filtered into ours. Yes, I complained but nothing done but took the maid 4 hours to clean the room the next day. that was a rough night for us. Pool and beach: After the weekend pool was very cloudy. Pool needs repairs. Bottom has broken floor in spots so watch your feet. Beach is ok for walking. No sargassum but some sea grass. Not safe to swim there with the current and waves. Food: buffet not good. Food was geared to local cuisine. With the crowd on the weekend stuff ran out fast. Service was slow but eventually they came to your table. Snack and sports bar food was OK. Steak, Italian, and Asian was so so. Coffee, ice cream and pizza shops were good. Entertainment: they try hard. Been to other resorts with much better. No English spoken while I was there. Bars: I had a few occurrences of waiting for some time for a drink and a local came up and they were served first so gave up. Drinks were not the best anyway. We mostly stuck with pepsi from the room. I would not recommend this place.

Beautiful Vacation
We went in May as a family of 4 and booked 2 rooms. We had asked for rooms near eachother and there were no issues. Our kids room was across the hall. The rooms were nice, no complaints. We were in building 4 and that is the 3 story building near the pool but everything is quite close. Beach was lovely and well maintained. The pools could use some TLC as there was pats of the bottom of the pool chipping and broken grates. All in all a great experience. My only flags are that on the weekends some of the locals book in. During our time there that meant the pools were very busy with lots of kids. We saw many situations were items were taken from people's chairs, and even kids stealing other kids items and the parents claim they were their kids. I spoke to some staff and that's a common occurrence. Just something to be mindful of. Also make sure you bring enough sunscreen as the shop charges 38$USD.

Updated resort, but!
Nice resort. A resort that has been updated in many ways. They are still working on updating some things. The rooms in some buildings are musty and don't have AC working Lots of DR music and cultural parts on the theatre (that's outdoors) but no other entertainment in the evenings. No Libby bar but a sports bar (noisy) in area close to lobby. No English channels on TV in room except for CNN.

Lovely setting
The grounds were amazing! People were always taking care of it. The room/accommodations were comfortable, though I thought a "Junior Suite" would be a bit larger. It was basically a "room". Because of mobility issues, we requested a ground level room, which we had. The beds were comfortable, but the mattresses needed to be turned/flipped. You could tell that guests sat on one edge of each bed as they sagged on that side. The bathroom was dangerous. Really, room for only one person at a time as the open door hit the toilet. The tub was a shocker! It was difficult to step into and it was very narrow, making it too difficult to get down into and then up out of. I tried it only once. After our first slippery use we realized that we had to wear our crocs in order to get in and out for the shower. The fridge was refreshed with water and pop daily. The A.C. barely worked in room 709. Thank heavens for the fan. The food was plentiful, but by day 5 I was starting to feel it to be a bit repetitious. Lots to eat though. The staff were friendly and always desiring to be of assistance. It was a LONG DRIVE to/from the airport.

Beautiful resort!
We booked this hotel fairly last minute based on some friends that had booked first. We have been to Punta Cana numerous times with mostly just “ok” experiences. We didn’t have high expectations going here but we were pleasantly surprised with this resort! Grounds- beautiful! The scenery is amazing, beach and mountains surround this resort. Rooms- only 3 buildings have been renovated. We started in a room that wasn’t reno’d and it was ok. No real issues except musty smell and the shower was very dark and dingey. We upgraded to a newer room- still musty smelling but nothing Damp Away can’t help with. Shower was much nicer and open. however it did leak into the bedroom one time. Large room with big floor balcony. Beach- mostly sandy but does get a bit rocky going into the water. Was very clean, barely any seaweed. Much wavier than our previous Punta Cana beaches so can’t go out too far. Staff- can’t say enough good things about the staff at the resort from the cleaning personnel to the chefs, bartenders and housekeepers. Everyone was so friendly! Food- no complaints which we were shocked about. Something could be found at every buffet night for dinner. Lots of breakfast selections. Only 2 a la carts between our 2 rooms which we wished we could have gotten more. Only downside we could really comment on is that it is a hub spot for the cruise ships to dock and they block off a section of the beach along with many lounge chairs for the cruise visitors which kind of sucked for us trying to get a beach chair. They also made the pool and bars super busy when they were all there, so difficult to get drinks. Otherwise we loved the Senator and would 100% come back.

Wonderful trip!
We had a great time at this resort. I will try to touch on everything I can.... Food: I am a picky eater....and I left the buffet each night with my belly full! Were things repeated each night...yes. Were they good each...yes! But there were also new items each night too. I dont eat seafood at all and it was abundant here. My husband tried every kind of fish offered and never had a complaint. Legends is a great place to eat also. Small made to order menu. Highly recommend the brownie! it was delicious. There is also a snack bar open across the pool during the afternoon...has small but slightly different menu than legends. We went to 2 a la cartes. Japanese was ok. I wasn't a fan but my group thought it was fantastic. The steakhouse was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The steak was cooked to perfection. The mash potatoes were delicious. Everyone in our group ordered slight different things and no one was disappointed! Beach: beach at Senator is a bit smaller and has some rocks. I do recommend shoes but i didnt wear any and i made out just fine. As a very pale person I enjoyed alot of shade....this was no an issue at the beach. Lots of trees to park my chair under. It is pretty quiet except for the waves crashing....very peaceful. Many a naps were had! LOL Pool: the pool is great. pool bar was well stocked. lots of brand new chairs and umbrellas arnd the pool. Only spent 1 day there myself but my group spent all their time there. No complaints. Staff: ALL staff here were super friendly and helpful. I dont ask too many questions but when I did they were always helpful and courteous. Cleanliness: Public bathrooms here were the best ive ever seen!! always clean and tp was fully stocked. Grounds arnd pool and beach were also top notch. They people here work very hard and one of the cleanest resorts ive been to. We spent some time at Playabachata also. Their pool was a bit more lively. But also very hot in late afternoon. Not many umbrellas and chairs are older. You have full access to the resort when staying at Senator. Their beach is much bigger and also has lots of shade if needed. All in all I give this resort 5*s. Might not be the fanciest but it was very clean and we had a great time.

Great Resort
This was our first time at this resort. The grounds are immaculate. The location is perfect, very private. It is a nice walk to Amber cove where you can watch the cruise ships coming and going. It's not a big resort which is what we like. The amenities at Playa Bachata resort are also nice. We were in a luxury Jr suite ocean view room. A couple of times we had no hot water, but it wasn't a big deal. Housekeeping does a great job at cleaning the rooms. We left a note in the mini bar for extra water and coffee pods each day and this was fulfilled. The buffet was good, but very repetitive with the food choices. They put the food out early so it's not very warm and things like pancakes are premade and cold. The buffet opens at 7am but the bacon doesn't come out until between 7:30am and 8:00am and it goes quickly. They also didn't have bacon every day. The Italian restaurant was good. The salmon at the steakhouse was amazing, but the steak wasn't very good. There isn't much of a show at the hibachi table at the Japanese restaurant, but the food was good. The service was really slow at the Sports bar if you sit in the lobby. We ordered onion rings and they came overcooked and there were only 4 small onion rings on the plate. I don't recommend the food there. They have an abundance of loungers now but could still use a few more umbrellas. The staff are great, especially Guillermo at the buffet. He got to know what we liked to drink and would bring it without us even asking when he saw us coming and kept our coffee filled in the morning. Tropicana Avenue is a great place to get ice cream and a coffee after dinner where you can sit and enjoy it close to the beach. Overall, this is a very nice resort that we would return to.

Not a 4.5 star resort
Traveled the last week of January 2025. Beach: stong current, if you are not a strong swimmer, it could take you down the beach. Wear beach shoes, a bit rocky in spots. Rooms: we had a ground floor room with no air conditioning, the bathroom tub wouldn't drain. We to the front desk 3 times, they send someone to look at it but never fixed it. Beds are very comfortable. Food: lots of variety but cold unless you stood in the lineup to have it cooked while you wait. Drinks: absolutely no alcohol in the drinks. They mix the drinks well for taste but for mucho mucho rum added it didn't give a kick at all. The beer was the same. Tastes like beer but no kick to it. The grounds: very nice, clean and easy to get around. Staff: friendly for the most part, all work extremely hard. Pools: no issues, all good.

Decent Value, But Far from Perfect
The Pros • Potential for Improvement: Senator acquired this property from Riu, and while it still needs significant upgrades, there’s noticeable potential. • Our Stay in Building 7: Though this building had some quirks—issues with pumping, outdated chest of drawers, and older electrical outlets—it felt justified for the price. We were offered an upgrade to Buildings 2 or 3 (Ultimate Club), but for an additional $500–$800, it didn’t seem worth it. The rooms were similar in size and also lacked functional chest drawers. • Access to Playabachata: The neighboring property added variety to our stay with more pools and amenities. • Beautiful Landscape: The resort’s setting is stunning, with lush greenery and natural shade from palm trees. There are also long walking paths and multiple pools spread across three properties. However, be sure to pack bug spray! • Entertainment & Amenities: Entertainment was typical, but having two theaters between the properties was a nice touch. The market street stood out with its delicious coffee and free ice cream shop. The Cons • Food & Health Concerns: o Several guests experienced stomach issues, and we observed questionable food safety standards at times. o The food itself was inconsistent—some meals were enjoyable, others not so much. Still, there was always something I could eat. Shoutout to Juan, who provided excellent service at the outdoor buffet tables! • Beach Quality: o The beach wasn’t ideal. The sand is coarse, and the water entry is steep and rocky. o Garbage occasionally floated into the bay, and the water visibility was poor—not great for snorkeling. • Crowded Pool & Beach Areas: o There aren’t enough lounge chairs to accommodate all guests. Many chairs were “reserved” with towels early in the morning and sat unused for hours. o The central pool area, for example, has only two umbrellas. • Cruise Port Visitors: Being next to a cruise port, the property is often flooded with day visitors, making chairs even harder to find. Final Thoughts This resort delivers fair value for the price, but it’s not without its shortcomings. The beautiful surroundings and access to additional properties are strong positives, but challenges with food safety, overcrowding, and aging infrastructure can’t be overlooked. It’s a case of “you get what you pay for,” but it’s worth comparing other properties in the area for potentially better options.

Wonderful holiday!
I will start off by saying we had no expectations. Therefore, we ended up having a great time even-though we did experience the odd bump or two. Some the resort could control and some not so. First we found the resort extremely clean. Staff for the most part was very friendly. We didn’t try the specialty restaurants. We found the buffet good. However, as most resorts it could be a little inconsistent but we enjoyed it. It was odd that we always had to ask for a spoon for our coffee as well as salt and pepper. Drinks for the most part were very inconsistent from the pool to Legends. Legends is the party bar. Entertainment was fine. One thing I was disappointed in was the lack of shade around the pool. Palm trees being trimmed made for a lack of shade. But the most annoying was trying to get a lounger. If you were not at the pool by 5:30 am to snag a chair with shade and preferred spot you were out of luck. With so much space around the pools they easily put out more lounges to accommodate guests. I will end by saying this is a very nice resort. As I started off we had no expectations. Keep in mind it’s not a five star resort! Great value with no bells and whistles. Cheerful midsize resort that’s easy to get around and that’s why we will return same time next year!

Overall I rated the hotel a 7. The buffet was ok. Japanese and steakhouse were good, but Italian restaurant, Grappa was disappointing. I’m Italian so I’m more critical on Italian food. I would rate this resort a 3.5 star. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean, food not the greatest but lots of choices. The pool and pool area is in need of repair (paint is peeling in the pools and the lawn beds are in rough shape). There were 4 umbrellas available for the whole pool deck.

Very Disappointing
We are not picky people, and have visited the DR many times, and know what to expect. The only good thing I can say about this resort is that the grounds are beautiful, the layout to the beach is gorgeous. The pools do need to be painted, but grounds maintenance does a wonderful job. That is all it has going for it. I am serious, stay away. I have never written a review like this. We normally will choose Air Transat if given the option, after this experience I don’t know who to travel with. You will be told this resort is 30 minutes from airport, after we CLEARED the airport and got to the Air Transat bus. We sat in parking lot, in bus with no AC for 1 hr 40 minutes, while they sold beer to the people on bus, then drove over an hour to get to the resort. Almost 3 hrs!!!! Then stand in line at resort to get your room. Our first room had no A C, no working toilet, sliding glass door I could not open on my own. The plugs in room were old and European. The shower had no water pressure and impossible to adjust. After going back down to reception, I am told there are no other rooms, unless we pay more money. I refused as I did not want upgrade, I wanted a working room. I contacted Air Transat, who only directed me to rep there. The Rep was not there, could not be reached, so had to wait till next day. The rep was useless, we were offered a room worse than the first at the very back of the resort, or pay more money again. Finally after rep left us. Managed to get a manager who moved us to working room. 2 days of our vacation ruined. The rooms are very dated, the big news here is you cannot adjust the AC, the ones in room are not broken, the AC is controlled by resort. You can barely feel it. Most rooms have ceiling fan you need running full blast. The Tv has only CNN for the only English station. The resort has power outages all the time. Make sure to have flashlight in bathroom with you as i was in pitch black in shower. You also need that power to keep fan going. Good luck!! Now on to food. Breakfast buffet was good for fresh made eggs, then be prepared to fight the flies off your other choices. Flies are sitting on all the food. First time on holiday I lost weight. If you like Diet Pepsi, you are in luck. It is all they have. No regular pop and all. There is so much more I can write. 2 days to get umbrella. 5 times to front desk for it. Beach is pretty, but hard to walk in to sand because first 5 feet are broken coral. There is absolutely nothing to do here in the evenings. Bartenders don’t know any drinks. I wanted to go home. How Air Transat represents this is beyond me, and never expect help from the rep there. My suitcase was kicked by the person loading the bus. They cracked it and denied it. This could be a great hotel, but they don’t care, and never will. I spoke to so many, all with issues and would never come back. You have been warned!!! Normally we would be booking our next trip for February, I have no interest in travelling at all now. Just thinking of the disgusting food, and flies there makes me sick. Choose somewhere else please. The staff and management is horrible. I sure miss the great staff at Sunscape.

Not worth the money
Small resort with very few amenities. Food was OK, but they ran out of wine for 3 straight days including buffet and all restaurants/bars. Forget about any service. There is almost no entertainment there and the only activity is beach volleyball (self organized). Hotel looks very bland with zero decor. Beach is OK if you are allowed to swim as they just hang permanent red flag and do not allow anyone to enter water. In general it is greatly overpriced regardless of how much you paid for it. There are way better resorts in Dominican at the same or even lower price point (ignore star ratings, those have nothing to do with actual value).

Lovely beach and grounds!
Rooms were okay, bathrooms could use some updating. Comfortable bed. Beach was beautiful with lots of space. Pool was okay - crowded. Full buffet with attentive staff. Nightly entertainment to suit your taste. 24 hour sports bar - great for early morning coffees etc. Wonderful array of coffees and pastries at the specialty coffee shop. Tried the specialty restaurants - good steak house but don't expect a leisurely meal. No activities but we knew that when we selected the place so no complaints. Check-in/out staff should set realistic expectations for customers who have concerns - i.e. TV didn't work for 3 days, but only after the 2nd follow up did they offer to switch rooms - not what you want to do when you only have 1 day left of vacation. Internet availability - no sign ins/passwords. For older couples looking for a nice place to chill, this is a good spot!

The hotel was okay. I found the room was not as clean as I've experienced in the Dominican Republic. I aslo found the food selection was not great. The Buffet served many of the same dishes each night and the A La Carte Steakhouse was not a great experience. I was rushed in, served really quickly and rushed out, whole experience was 30 minutes and the food was prepared in advance and not fresh. The evening shows were not great, mostly the resort dancers dancing with guests. One evening they didn't even have a show. I found that 5 days was more than enough time at the resort. It was a very quiet experience, which is what I was looking for, so it all worked out.

Good resort - but lock your door!
Honestly, I wish I could give this resort a higher rating, overall it was great, however we did have an unsettling experience which has lead me to knock off a few stars. We travelled here for a trip in February 2024. - The grounds are spotless, there are people working around the clock to keep it that way - Food was decent, nothing to write home about but there was a bit of variety, and the quality is what is expected from an all inclusive resort. - I loved the little “downtown” area with the coffee, ice cream and pizza shop - there was always some kind of entertainment or event going on - loved that I could get an espresso martini - they kept me going for the week! - The room was okay, we just stayed in the standard room. It was dated and the air conditioning leaked, but the bed was super comfy at least! - We loved the staff that cleaned our room, she was caring and always ensured we had what we needed And the not so great story: - Our room didn’t have a deadbolt lock, we didn’t think much of it until after the first night when we found out that everyone else in our party did.I’m always paranoid, so I made sure the door was shut and set up a chair in front of our door before we went to bed on the first night. In the middle of the night I woke up to the sound of the chair being pushed across the floor. Someone had swiped into our room and opened the door, and I heard them pulling on the door on the safe (which is immediately to the right when you open the door) and then left. It all happened so quickly and I was half asleep I didn’t have time to respond. We reported it to the front desk first thing the next morning and they assured us that we are supposed to have a deadbolt and they would send someone to fix it immediately. We waited until the afternoon to check, and when we went back to our room it still hadn’t been fixed. Luckily our lovely housekeeper was there and we told her what had happened, she messaged someone to come and fix it immediately. The guy showed up, and he told us he would be back in 5 minutes so he could fix it. He never came back. They called our room the next day, and asked us how our stay was, again we requested the deadbolt to be installed and they told us someone would be up in 15 minutes to fix it. Again, they never came. Eventually we just gave up, and piled furniture infront of our door every night. They clearly did not care, and had zero intention of fixing it. Moral of the story: LOCK YOUR SAFE! And if you don’t have a deadbolt…just ask for a new room.

We had a great vacation at this resort. The grounds are very well kept and the hotel/room is very clean. The food at the buffet was very good with alot of variety. The a la carte were so-so but we enjoyed the buffet so much we didn't care. The main pool is clean but is in need of some repairs. I would say there needs to be more umbrellas around the pool area as there is no shade and more seating in the lobby/bar area. That would be the only negative thing I have to say about this resort.

Great resort!
We arrived on April 8th for 10 days and it was our first visit to Senator. We were a party of 8 ages 20 to 60. The resort is laid out very well and is easy to get around. We stayed in building 5 ocean view and our friends were in building 6 and 13. 5 and 6 were clean and fresh with good AC and warm water for showers. Building 13 was dated and had a musty smell and the safe did not work in it. Pools were great, buffets were good with a daily variety and had bacon and eggs etc every morning. Ala Carts - steak house and Japanese were great. Italian was ok. I was disappointed that the cappuccino was from a machine and not fresh ground but was still good. They made good iced cappuccinos at the legends sports bar and had good coffee at the Mokka coffee shop in the alley. Entertainment was ok but was typically the entertainment staff putting on the performance. Shade around the pool is scarce and was difficult to find chairs most days. We didn’t spend much time on the beach but looked like more shad there but loungers were hard to come by. All in all, we would definitely return for another stay and would recommend this place. We did the city tour and buggy rental through Ramon tours and had fun on both excursions.

An excellent vacation
The only minor issues while we were there were the 3hr wait for our room upon arrival to check in, and the one store had medication to prevent sea sickness before an excursion but couldn’t sell it to us because it was not priced in the computer, and the manager wasn’t answering her phone. Apart from that all of the staff were incredibly helpful especially our concierge Wellington (I’m sorry I’ve probably spelled his name wrong). The resort was extremely clean and the beach was beautiful. The food and drinks were excellent. I highly recommend the coffee shop, the gelato bar and the sports bar. There was lots of selection on the buffet. The room was quite comfortable, it was cleaned every day, fresh towels and water were always available. It was nice and quiet for sleeping after 10pm. If you want an excellent all round vacation to relax and unwind I would 10/10 recommend it.

Pretty but tired.
The grounds were kept beautifully. The pool however seemed to not be functioning quite right and was pretty dirty some days. There is a kids pool and two large pools. With a couple of baseball teams present, I am not sure why the kids are allowed in the pool with the bar. They took over all the pools and were lacking any respect for the other guests in the pool. The room was clean but tired. The shower head kept sliding down the pole so you had to bend down to rinse off and the musty shower curtain kept clinging to you. Yuck! Every time I tried to dry my hair, the breaker blew and all the power went out. It must have been a regular thing because the panel was right by the door and we could just flip it ourselves. The food was not great at the buffet but the Japanese was good. All that being said, it was a beautiful resort and we had a good vacation.

Good time
We enjoyed our trip, met many lovely people. Only one complaint and that is getting up early to get a chair, otherwise all was good. We have been to this location before when it was owned by a different owner and wanted to relive some memories.

Another 10 days in paradise.
This was our 3rd visit to the Senator this winter and each time the staff out does themselves. Love the hospitality and friendship we receive each visit. On a sad note we will sure miss our friend Alejandro Castillo who will be leaving the Senator next month for Morocco to manage another hotel. As general manager he has worked hard to make the Senator the wonderful facility it is today. We are already planning another 2 week tour in November. Looking forward to seeing all our family then

Amazing Resort
We love the resort. Very clean and staff was very friendly. Beds in our room was very comfortable that we slept in everyday. Food was excellent and tasty, never was hungry. The Italian and Steak house were our favorites. The only downfall we had was we had our towels and chairs stolen twice on us, doesn't matter if you went to the bathroom or not, people were disrespectful and took them and than lied to your face. Also maybe the company can invest in more chairs so this doesn't happen and than their would be less confrontations. Other than that we did have a wonderful time on our vacation. Lots to do and so beautiful to walk around to the other resort too. We would go back to this resort again.

Wonderful week at Senator Puerto Plata Spa & Resort
Had a great week, visited March 13-20th. Beautiful grounds, breathtaking views of the ocean and the mountains and watching the cruise ships coming and going. Rooms were super clean and comfortable, beds and pillows were the most comfortable of any resort I've visited. No issue with hot water, fridge was stocked daily. I stayed in building 8 and had a view of the pool and the ocean. Everything is a short walk away from the rooms. The buffet had a great variety of foods and plentiful. The Japanese restaurant was great, visually impressive and very tasty. The pools were clean and water warm, the beach was beautiful, there was areas of broken coral but didn't stop me from enjoying walks and swimming. The drinks were good, legends had great snacks as did the snack bar. The entertainment crew were very engaging and friendly, always something going on. No complaints from our group of six, it offered everything we were looking for and more! The loungers are a small issue, but with patience you will always find a spot, go with the expectations of having a relaxing time and don't look for the negatives. I would return!

Senator Puerto Plata
We really enjoyed our stay at this resort. It was hard to get loungers after 8 am. (March break) The room was nice, bed comfortable, bring your own shampoo and conditioner and lotions, we only had bar soap and a half bottle of conditioning shampoo (not sure if this was due to March break) The resort is kept very clean and the staff are very nice. Buffet was very good and we went to (steakhouse) Ember's twice and it was very good. I really liked that you could go to the sister resort and the walkway ran all the way along the beach for easy access. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships right beside the resort. The sports bar was a great spot and the food was good there as well, if you are an early riser they are 24hrs and you can get coffee there too. We saw a magic show while we were there and that was very good. The beach was a good size and was wavy but very little sea weed to speak off , lots of shade was a plus as well. I swam in one pool and they are kept clean but hard to get shade. The drive to the resort was about 45 minutes. Thank you Louise Endean for suggesting this resort and doing all the work for us, we had a great time and we will return for sure.

Awesome Resort
This is our third time staying at Senator Resort and Spa, Puerto Plata in a year. The resort is very comfortable. We like the food, the beds, the pool area and the people. For the cost of this resort we feel it meets our needs and provides us with an awesome vacation. We really enjoy flying out of Hamilton airport with Air Transat.

Great Resort
Hotel was great grounds was well taken care of. Staff was friendly and accommodating. For the al a Carte options a Dominican Republic restaurant would have been.nice and have theme nights at the buffet Had a difficult time getting beach chairs not enough for the amount of people at the resort. Chairs was being saved by towels that was not moved for hours. This is unfair to the others

Could be amazing.
Grounds are beautiful with lovely views of the beach. Sometimes you will see cruise ships in the harbour. Rooms are small but clean with comfortable beds. Take note that rooms with two beds do not have bedside lamps, only the king bed rooms have one on either side. Buffet is not outstanding, often the daily meat was over cooked and chewy. There was always a shortage of pool chairs and bar/lobby seating. The pool area is lovely. All the staff were friendly.

Good time resort
Hotel well kept as a whole. Grounds, pools, restaurants, shops, beaches were clean and looked after daily. Rooms were clean but need updating..had trouble with toilet, barely warm water, tap sprayed water. Food was excellent in al a cartes but buffet needs better variety of dishes and please, please teach them how to cook all of their meat. Too dry, tough, no taste, no gravy.

3 star resort
This Resort at best is a 3 star complex. The rooms are a mixture of upgraded and older non-upgraded. Second floor rooms have luke warm water only. I found many maintenence problems, such as plugged bathtub drains, spanish only TV with the exception of BBC or CNN. Dirty towels not changed when left on the floor. They would be hung back up wet. New clock radios had electrical cords that could not be plugged into the Dominican outlets without an plug adapter. Pool loungers were limited to people who got up at 5 am to reserve them with towels. The food was not good, the buffet was always overcrowded as was the pool. Pool washrooms were some distance from the pool and I didn't see many people getting out of the pool to use them. I have been to many all exclusives in the Dominican Republic but this Resort was a real disappointment. I do not recommend this resort.

Staff is very good
Anna in the Legends bar was excellent. She spoke very good English and always treated our group like family. The alla carte restaurants were really good and the buffet had good variety. Definitely needed more chairs at the pool area. Their were some very rude French Canadians.

Very Impressed
DO NOT LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.This is a very clean hotel / resort with an amazing staff to answer all your needs and keep you happy. The pool area is huge and beautifully landscaped and although the pools are dated, they are well maintained. The beach in itself was a disappointment-waters were rough, sand was not that white sand, lots of louge area above, but the beach to walk on was small. I was very impressed with the food choice and tastes. The 3 a lacart restaurants were all amazing !! Take a walk to the uptown area on the resort- Icecream and Pizza are a nice treat. Ya want AMAZING pub style eats .......visit the Sports Lounge and the bar is 24hrs!!!!! The rooms are dated but are kept extremely clean......that said we did not have a screen door ( just glass sliding door) that we could leave open and listen to the waves - no major issue. The entertainment staff / bartenders are the nicest and most entertaining staff that I have encountered in my years of travelling!!!! Would I return - DEFINATELY

Nice to be home again
A bit of rain this trip but so nice to see all our friends who work at the resort. Grounds are kept impeccable . The grounds keepers are constantly making improvements. The entertainment crew go above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thanks Skinny, Pollo, Monkey Black, Dora and Sky. In the buffet Nunez, Wanda and Juan Pablo made sure we were well looked after. Our morning "special" coffees were always perfect thanks to the girls in Legends. Special thanks to our friend Robin, who always looks after our every needs at booking and making sure we get the perfect room. See you again in 44 days woohoo.

Very nice resort
My stay at the Senator was somewhat enjoyable. On my first day there I wanted to take a shower, but there was no hot water, I called the front desk and they said they would send someone over to fix it. On day two they had a power outage for about 13 hours. I have to say even with no power, The staff, was still able to do a really great buffet breakfast. Day two and three I complained again about hot water they were going to send someone over. Finally, I went to the front desk and spoke to Robin and he said there is no hot water in the resort at all. They’re having a problem . I would’ve thought they could tell me that right from the beginning. He said if you’re not happy, you’re more than welcome to go to customer service and complain.?? The resort was very clean very well kept as were the rooms. The staff was wonderful very friendly, always helpful . The buffet was great. They had so much variety in food. I really enjoyed tropical Avenue, I was able to find a few things to buy to take home with me. On the couple of rainy days, I used the gym, which was extremely nice and well equipped. I don’t think I would return to the Senator again, even though there were some positive things about it. I must’ve picked the wrong time of year to go because 3 1/2 out of the 7 days we had rain. (Nothing that the resort could control). I gave you a lower rating on the value because of the hot water situation and the lack of not being honest with your guests about it.

Another fun trip to the Senator!
We stayed at the Senator in January and enjoyed it so much that we brought friends with us for our second trip in November. What stood out to us is the incredibly friendly staff, the cleanliness, beauty and layout of the resort. Everything is within a 5 minute away – the beach, pool, rooms, lobby, restaurants, shows, sports bar, coffee shop. The rooms are basic but so clean and our king bed was very comfortable. It was nice to eat on the outside patio at the buffet and have a view of the pool and beach/ocean. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships sail in and out of Amber Cove next door. The ocean was mostly calm and clear the week we were there and we all spent several hours in the water. Some days there were a few small stones when you enter the water but not always. I never wore the water shoes that I brought. There was no seaweed while we were there. The buffet had a great selection of fresh fruit, bread and pastries, salads, soup, cheese, vegetables, pizza, grilled chicken, fish, pork, etc. No complaints. We ate at 2 of the a la cartes and had no problem getting reservations for the 12 of us. Mokka has good selections of coffees and teas. The service at the restaurants and bars was top notch. The Legends Sports Bar is open 24 hours and had the best drinks, great food, a fun atmosphere and quick and friendly service. We really enjoyed the animation team of Skinny, Cappucino, Pollo, Baby, Monkey Black. We had lots of laughs with them during our daily bocce ball game on the beach, poolside games and evening shows. If you like fine dining, luxurious accommodations and being pampered then this is probably not the resort for you. If you enjoy a small intimate resort with a wonderful staff that treats you like family then I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s easy to make friends and you don’t get lost in the crowd like you do at some of the larger resorts we have been to. We saw several familiar faces and many of them remembered us from our first trip. I hope to return some day.

Looks like the resort is starting to cheap out
We were there in January 2023 and everything was great. Went back in November 2023 and noticed a few thinks different. Did not receive the welcome drink, no wash rags for days kept asking tho ( I know bring your own next time ) some days you had floor towels and some days you didn’t ,no pool foam party this time but it’s still advertised , had to look for bottles of water some days as fridge wasn’t restocked everyday, all shopping stores closed , they still advertise that they are open. We were on the ground floor and for some reason the maid unlocked are patio door everyday not sure why. The animation people were awesome again. Thanks to Skinny, Babey, Capichino, Monkey, Mosquito, Luke, and all bartenders you guys were awesome. I hope the resort is not cheaping out with you guys. They need people like you guys and the resort needs to get back where they were in January
