This is a beautiful hotel and grounds area. The staff are fantastic. The location is good. The beach is not great and the ocean is to rough to swim in. Not enough loungers around the pool. The very bad part of our trip was the food at this plase is not good. My wife good food poisoning and was very sick for 2 days.

I did not participate in any of the activities on the resort . I utilized the services of room service for food delivery, which was prompt , sealed and tasty. They have numerous wheelchairs available for use at the resort and the staff to assist in transporting, if necessary. The staff very pleasant and helpful. The studio rooms do not have a balcony and is just like a bachelorette appt with cooking stuff (fridge, microwave, stove top, etc etc ) the resort allows off resort health providers to come and provide care .

Excellent Hotel location in Marina Vallarta surrounded by some of the best! Walking distance to Marina Restaurants,Shopping and Bars etc.. Nice Rooms but would recommend upgrading from Studio rooms if you require a patio and more space. Limited restaurants but excellent service throughout with top shelf liquor at all bars and impeccably manicured grounds. Hotel is a Time share so beware if that isn't your thing although we were not asked to participate even once during our week long all inclusive stay! Would Return!

We just returned from a 7-day stay at the Velas Vallarta. We have stayed in the PV area many times at different hotels and this is definitely our favorite so far. Located in the Marina Vallarta area, the hotel was within walking distance of the Marina and all of its "many" restaurants, bars and shops. The service was truly amazing - in all areas - full happy, smiling service at the pool and beach as well as the restaurants. We had been upgraded to a king size suite and loved our room. Our kitchen was completely stocked with water, pop, beer, milk in the fridge as well as various breakfast and snack items and coffee/tea. Our room was very clean with a beautiful view of the lovely grounds and pools (seventh floor - Room 2712). The beds were more comfortable than ours at home and the room temperature was perfect for sleeping. We spent most of our time at the pool but enjoyed the beach as well. Our only complaint was about having to get up early to save a pool chair and then watch other chairs that were saved before us sit empty all day (happened a few times). There was a nice swim-up bar at the one pool but we did not use it much as our pool side service (beverages and food) was excellent. There were two ala carte restaurants for supper (one of those also served breakfast/lunch) for which you needed reservations and one all day buffet. The food was tasty in all but we found the buffet did not vary much in their offerings from day to day (unless you ordered from the menu - every night was a different theme). There was a lobby bar where there was various entertainment every night. Sunday night was a Mexican fiesta in a large conference room and we found the food that night was disappointing. The entertainment involving the audience at times was excellent. We caught a bus (7.50 pesos per person) right outside our hotel to go to downtown PV and had a wonderful evening out on the Saturday night.

The rooms were clean and decent size, fridge was stocked everyday with beer, water and soft drinks. Snacks were also stocked everyday. Grounds were beautiful, pool was large and heated which was nice. Food was good in all the restaurants. Staff were all friendly and went out of there way to help however they could.

Hotel is nice and up to date. Mature crowd so if you are expecting wild parties this is not the place. Pools are great for children. The overall experience was very good. The marina is a short walk away which is a great experience. There are lots of great restaurants there and shopping. Be sure not to miss the Thursday market there. It's amazing!

Can't say enough good things about our stay . It was our first time at this resort and we would return. The staff there was great particularly Eduardo pool side, but all of the servers in the restaurants were the best The hotel was very clean we had a junior suite with no balcony 24hr room service was great one thing i didn't like was the uninviting lobby there is no visible bar should be a meeting place also if your a beach person this is not for you.Still a very nice relaxing hotel
