The worst resort experience we've had
The resort in it's current state should not be welcoming travellers. They have hygiene issues causing food poisoning. They also let sargassum rot on the beach causing an unbearable smell all over the resort.

Mostly fantastic!
My mother and I went for 11 days in May and found this hotel had some great qualities. Clean, good sized rooms with comfy beds and only 25 minutes from the airport. A good sized hotel, spread out but walkable and they have elevators so for people with mobility issues it's great! The entertainment was decent and there were always clean towels in the rooms and at the pool. The games room and bowling was a nice plus (open daily 3-11, operating on a first come, first served basis). All of the lobby servers/bartenders were top-notch! I have food allergies and the staff at guest services (Sergio and Estrella) were great. They helped me navigate all of the buffets and restaurants so that I didnt have to worry about having a reaction. My only complaints are that the pools could be kept much cleaner and the raccoons are a major hindrance, I would watch out if you have small children as they will climb right up on them, the raccoons are everywhere after dusk. The beach is also a bit small/skinny and there was sargassum which wasn't too bad while we were there, but we're not beach people so it was fine. Would still return for a good price. Thanks to Tammy Beamish at TC for this holiday.

Sargassum alert!!!
Has potential but in transition phase. Privelege status isnt worth it, especially rooms. Wouldnt offer room service afternoons?! Our butler was good until last day when we really needed help. Staff at pool are simply amazing and work hard very consistently Buffet staff good mostly but some are just looking for tips and then provide service. Room cleanliness is very poor. Door was not sealed and a/c failed and wasn't fixed. Beach sargassum was out of control and resorts are not responsible...city is and efforts are futile.

Lovely accommodations
The resort itself was lovely. Pool areas were great. Enjoyed the fresca station and mikes coffee. Staff was terrific . My only complaint, like so many other,is the inability to make reservations at specialty restaurants. We finally went to guest services and got help. The Italian, Mexican and French restaurants were great as was the Japanese. Route 66 was terrible. The buffet was excellent. The villa marina was closed for renovations but opened up on our last day. It was very convenient for lunch. The only other issue was the beach was was still full of seaweed and murky water. This was in no way the fault of the resort. All in all, we had a wonderful time

Oceans coral and turquesa
This is a lovely resort. We upgraded to the privilege and the food was outstanding. We loved our accommodations which were so quiet. We have now been here 4x and recommend it. The only downside was there was not much effort to clear the sargassum therefore it was over two feet high and fermenting.

Great resort!
From the moment we arrived in the vast and luxurious lobby, to the moment we left, the service at Ocean Coral and Turquesa was top notch. We had a great experience at checkin while being offered drinks from the bar (alcoholic or nonalcoholic), the valet showed us to our room and carried our bags. Since we arrived late we were exhausted, after appreciating our extremely clean room, we fell into a very comfy bed with plenty of pillows. The next morning all was bright and sunny and already about 28 degrees. All ready for the pool we had breakfast and proceeded to the Pool. We are typically beach people, however the sargassum sure was making certain that was not possible. However that was to no fault of the hotel, so we became pool people! And we are so happy we did! This hotel pays attention to everything! Staff would see you in a hallway and ask if all was well, could they do anything. Like, just because. Throw in the number of restaurants and bars, amenities, activities and you never have to leave the resort. But you will want to with all of the excursions available! All in all, I would give this resort a thumbs up, 5-Stars, and a high recommendation.

Beautiful resort
Great customer service, great food!!, nice rooms, spacious and clean, beautiful pool areas. The beach was full of sargassum during our stay (March 7-14) and the hotel didn't do much effort to clean it, except one day when there was a wedding and we were able to swim in the ocean. The other days we had to go in the pool or at the next hotel's beach where there was installed a barrier for the sargassum.. Note* when you ask for number of stars below, you put the beach and the pool together, which is not fair. They are completely different and they should be rated separately. Pools 5*. Beach 3*

Even better than expected
This resort was a nicely laid out resort. We were a group of 4 adults (2 couples) and we really wanted a bit of a combination vacation. We wanted to be able to "join in the fun" and we also wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the sun. We were pleasantly surprised at how well this resort was laid out to easily allow this to happen. We were just regular guests - although we did upgrade to El Beso for a small fee as we wanted to be in building 11. The pool set up is nice. 4 pools - a kids pool that is clearly suited to smaller children. A large and quiet pool that was amazing for relaxing and just "chilling out by the pool". The main "party" pool with the swim up bar was where we ended up most of the time on resort as the bartenders were AMAZING. they remember your name, they welcome you and they made everyone feel welcome and special. I have a lot of stories about the people who we talked to who absolutely loved the bartending teams. Gustavo was my personal favorite - an amazing bartender with a seemingly endless number of drinks he could create! I have read all the reviews about people not getting chairs around the pools and will admit that if you show up at 1PM it can be a challenge. I have been to many resorts and the normal chair reserving happens - it always does and is something you just have to accept at all inclusive resorts. I will say that I was able to get chairs for all 4 of our group every day without any problems - granted - I am an early riser and had my pick each day - but there were still a LOT of open chairs later in the morning. Do not worry about the reviews complaining about no chairs - they are there just liker every other resort. The entertainment staff was GREAT. We didn't spend a lot of time over at the adults pool - but the time we were there was excellent. Same thing about the issues with reservations for the restaurants. they have an app you can log into and it goes live at 10AM. if you want a particular time and restaurant - you need to be ready at 10AM to log in and use the service - it is VERY easy to do. IF you are not good with an app on your phone they have guest services available to help you get your reservation... it is a very nice set up. The food at the restaurants was very good. I am a fan of Japanese food so I loved that restaurant but all of them were very good and had excellent selections. The buffet was very good as well - changing selections, hot and fresh stations, and well organized. One suggestion I have for the management team at the resort is to open Mikes Coffee Shop a little earlier. there was normally a line up and that could have been avoided if they open a bit earlier... but the coffee selection (hot and cold) were excellent as were the cookies, muffins, banana bread and sandwiches! NOTE - If you are looking for Michelin 5* restaurants - this is not it.... they are very good and I thoroughly enjoyed it, but have reasonable expectations of an all inclusive resort and you wont be disappointed. Room we had was room 11304. Recently renovated, great view of garden and ocean, close to amenities, clean and fresh. Again - All you can ask for at a resort. Only reason I rated the beach/pool as a 4 is the beach was nearly unusable due to Sargassum wees and while that is not the resorts fault, it took away from the beach options. Location is about an hour walk (actually a very nice and safe walk) from town and we enjoyed walking around and enjoying some local restaurants. I truly enjoyed the resort.... Staff is amazing - the grounds are well maintained and the whole vacation was a real success

Good resort
Overall, the hotel was good for the price. Unfortunately, the beach was full of sargassum and the water was cold but the beach itself is quite nice, sandy. Beware of the Premium/Privilege Club people hunting you like hawks at the check-ins. If you are not interested to pay extra, tell them directly straight away; otherwise, you will be wasting your precious time for their presentations and they will try to attract you by free massage, etc. The exclusive clubs are in every hotel but I have never seen such pushy people like here and that really spoiled my impression. The entertainment is okay, average shows in the evening. Overall, rooms are good and clean (except there is no door to the bathroom, just curtains), maid services are good, water was refilled daily. Food is decent, you can always find something to eat.

Beautiful resort
Ocean Coral and Turquesa is well laid out. It is easy to get around. The four pools run from North to South along the Caribbean Sea. We stayed at Privilege and had access to the fourth pool - adults only. The Privilege Lounge is lovely but the service is rather slow. Our butler, Carlos, was very helpful and assisted us with booking an Uber to go to Puerto Morelos. He also made all the restaurant bookings for us.The suites are spacious and comfy with a beautiful bathroom with a private toilet, large shower area and a separate bathtub. We were unfortunate and had a few days of cold, windy weather. Other than that, I'd recommend this hotel.

Amazing Resort
The resort was well maintained, the staff were friendly and courteous always smiling! The food was very good with lots of choices. The ala carte restaurants were very good and although some people struggled with reservations we didn't have a problem and managed to get into every one some a few times! The entertainment was good in the evenings and plenty to do throughout the day. My only comment would be to have some signage about where the events are taking place. Would definitely come here again!

Ocean Coral & Turquesa - return trip
We visited this resort in Dec 2018 and enjoyed ourselves, so thought of returning and did so Dec 2025.The Reason for our return is the resort is not far from the Cancun airport, about a 1/2 hour drive and overall we had a positive experience. Transfer: We flew with Air Transat and the transfer from airport to resort went smoothly aside from a couple of people that were "no shows" for the shuttle. So, the driver waited quite some time and finally decided to leave without them. The drive time is very reasonable. Check in: We arrived by noon and the check in went quickly. Check in time is 3:00 pm and therefore our room wasn't available until that time. The wristband provided is your key to the room. At this point, you can download the App so ala carte meals can be reserved. When reserving ala cartes, log on to the app before 10 AM and have your restaurant picked out; sometimes you may be able to get your reservation slightly before 10, but by 10 AM the app is active. I believe Privilege guests may have some "perks" with arranging ala cartes ahead of time...I don't know too much about that. Room: Our room was a Daisy Junior Suite Garden View. This is basically on the family side. We were building 15000. We found the location easily accessible to everything. We were on the ground floor and I was happy to see that a proper working lock was on the patio door. Our room had a humidifier, which we turned on a few times and it filled with water quickly. The thermostat for some reason was a bit "wonky" as the first night the temperature dropped to 16 degrees when it was set at 22. We spoke to someone at the front desk in the morning and the thermostat issue was quickly resolved and staff brought an extra blanket that morning. We were typically out of the room by 8 AM and our room was cleaned by 10 AM. So, a very positive review on service. Loungers/Towels: We had no issues getting a lounger, even by 8 AM and there would still be quite a few left. We did not reserve our spot for hours on end without showing up, although there are guests that do this. Typically, we only left our towel while we went for a bite to eat and come back. I did not see any signage stating that reserving lounges wasn't allowed, but it's common sense to be respectful of other guests. However, there was signage stating that smoking/vaping is not permitted. Generally, guests would either smoke at the beach, outside of the front lobby or somewhere more secluded. There are no towel cards, you simply provide your room number when getting a towel and return it by 4:30 PM and if you want a fresh one for the next day. There are 2 shacks to pick up towels between the pools and beach. Pool/Beach: There are 4 pools. There's a kids pirate theme pool that offers a snack bar, bar and kiddy lounge chairs. There's a family pool that is central to bar/restaurants and caters to kids and family; shallow with a deeper end. This area tends to be quieter. Then there's the activity pool, which is geared for fun activity, a foam party, swim up bar and it does tend to be louder with music playing. In the El Beso Adult section, there's an adult pool. No children allowed to my knowledge. The pools I believe are not chlorinated, but salt and are very clean. Some spots are showing their age and small tiles are missing. The beach was cleaned regularly with only a little sargassum washing up to shore. Grounds: The grounds are impeccably maintained. Maintenance crews are out cutting grass, pruning shrubs and cutting down palm leaves/coconuts, picking up garbage, sweeping the grounds around the pool. Bar staff are always picking up empty cups. That said, bar staff do come around for drink orders. There's plenty of wildlife, coatis, iguanas, agoutis, raccoons, lizards, and off behind the buildings there's a fenced area with crocodiles. Plenty of pelicans flying overhead. Restaurants/Bars/Service: There are several restaurants, however, we only went to a few. I want to stress that IMO, the service in the restaurants we visited was fantastic. The Buffet offers a nice variety of food, but sometimes "hit and miss" depending on your likes and dislikes. One night the roast beef was amazing with the mashed potatoes, etc. and another night the roast beef was really tough. Route 66 is great for a fast food dinner, but again "hit and miss" on meat. We went to the Italian restaurant Ritratto d'Italia 3 times, and each time were pleasantly surprised. Some reviewers have mentioned that the staff is pushy with the wine list, but we didn't find this. We just ordered the house wine. There is also the Blue Moon, Sensai (Japanese), Villa Marina and another Italian (outdoor) restaurant. There's another restaurant for Privilege guests (signage stated only for 14+ and adults). There are bars close to everything and they all offer good service and drinks. The Lobby Bar makes a very decent Caesar. Near the family pool there's the Fresca Bar which offers refreshing smoothies and next to it is an Ice Cream Parlour which is open from 3 PM to 9 PM. Entertainment: The entertainment stage is outdoors. Pre COVID there was a theatre building. As we're not really "nighthawks", we only saw 3 shows all of which were very professionally done. There was no "pre kids show" with musical chairs, fine by me. The Michael Jackson show, which I thought I'd seen a lifetime of, was very well done. The one thing that we missed was the Lobby Lounge entertainment. They used to have someone playing the baby grand piano with someone singing along. Now the piano sits in the middle of the lobby with no one ever playing it, such a waste. On our last evening, there was a group of school children singing Christmas songs and entertainers dancing. The lobby was beautifully decorated for the season as well. In conclusion, I'd recommend this resort to solos, couples or families. It's a solid value for your money kind of resort.

Large Resort with lovely staff
Large resort with a variety of restaurants. The buffet always had lots of choices but dishes emptied quickly and it took time to replenish them. The app to book a la carte restaurants rarely worked. The place was clean and employed lots of staff who were always pleasant and helpful. The downside to the place was the raccoons and other wildlife that came out at dusk. During the day there were mosquitoes, no-sedums and biting ants. Some people had severe reactions especially to the ant bites.

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a serious contender
The Ocean Coral and Turquesa hotel is definitely a resort to consider for your next vacation. The resort is located close to Puerto Morelos and offers many positive amenities for adults and families alike. There is a wide variety of room categories, numerous pools, multiple dining options and many activities, including bowling. The restaurants, bathrooms and common areas are all maintained to a very high standard with a focus on safe food handling practices and sanitation. The variety, quality and freshness of food offerings, was also to a high standard. Route 66 served amazing ribs, brisket and burgers, to name a few. Mike's coffee had a large array of coffees, desserts and sandwiches in a nicely decorated setting, reminiscent of a Starbucks. The ice-cream shop was a nice treat after dinner. The ala carte's included, Japanese, Italian, Seafood and Brazilian options. The beef filet at the Italian requires honourable mention, for it's tenderness. The buffet always offered a large variety of Mexican and American food options. All staff encountered were friendly and engaging. The evening shows, including Michael Jackson, were professional and promptly started at 9PM and ended at 9.45PM. The rooms were spacious with excellent A/C, TV, fridge and no mold or dampness either. Our airport transfers were organized and provided by Mercedes transporters Uber will also come to the resort, as an option to taxis. Puerto Morelos was less than $190 MXN. The Ocean Coral and Turquesa exceeded all our expectations.

Great time
The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were very nice a large. Great staff and easy to get around. A la cartes were much better than buffet, found this lacking, however never went without. Beach is the downside as there is heavy seaweed and no amount of work can remove it. Not their fault. Pools, oh the options!!!! 4 pools depending on your level and it was great!

3 star resort
The beach is very nice with white sand. You could walk in front of a lot of resorts. The grounds were kept very clean and they have several pools. The pool with the swim up bar had lots of activities and music most of the day. There is a relaxing pool which was nice and you could find a seat before 9am. There were no seats available after 9am so if you are going out for the morning you will not be able to sit by the pool for the afternoon. The buffet always had a great variety of food but it was always barely warm. There were several items that were raw, such as eggs (even the omelet station which you don't notice until your at the table). The service tended to be slow with us not getting refills or dishes cleared for some meals. The room we got was not nice. The AC wouldn't go below 24 degrees. We did report it twice and both times were told it was working. It did feel cool when you walked in but it was 30 degrees outside. Sleeping at night was awful. The toilet has a glass door dividing it from the bathroom so There isn't much privacy. The staff were all friendly. Beware as soon as you are checked in they try to hand you off to timeshare people saying they will explain the resort.

Decent overall.
Pros: - small size, good for kids -comfortable beds (renovated room in building 9) -no one got sick - one of the pools gradually gets deeper (like on a beach) which is great for kiddos Cons: - cleanliness lacking (ants in rooms and lots of mosquitoes in room) - food (it didn’t make us sick but it wasn’t enjoyable) - pools were dirty (as opposed to the oceans in punta cana which were cleaned every day - slushy drinks were disgusting

Wonderful resort!
The resort has wonderful facilities, a quiet pool in the Daisy area for families, a middle pool great for lounging and the pool bar for those wanting to join in the social activities in the pool. Good bar service, great variety and quality at the buffet and great reservation restaurants- especially the Blue Moon. Friendly and helpful staff. It was quite windy while we were there so not much time in the ocean and quite an open shoreline. Did need to make sure to get out early to secure a spot but plenty of loungers for those who are in the Privilege section. Overall a great resort with great services.

Games Played at Check-In
When booking privilege honeymoon suite as a couple you would not expect to be assigned a room in the family section! Check-in took 90 minutes as we were not about to spend 10 days with families. We finally were assigned the room we booked and paid for. Then we were assigned a butler that was useless. Couldn’t book us in any restaurant unless it was 6 or 9pm, couldn’t book a bali bed, couldn’t give us a bottle of the privilege wine that was to be in our room. After one day of this terrible butler, we met up with the head butler, Brandon and what do you know? We got into all restaurants for the rest of our stay at 7 or 7:30, our friends received a bali bed for the week and I finally got the wine I paid for. The difference between terrible service and wonderful service is all in the butler. It was a terrible start to our 10 day vacation but then it turned around and ended up nicely. The beach had a lot of seaweed but they cleaned it up well each day. However the beach loungers were in very bad condition, they looked old and saggy. The El Beso pool was very clean, but very crowded. The loungers quite comfortable. Jose and Alexander were very diligent in keeping everyone happy with their towels and water. And the best pool server, Ricardo! He was very happy and excellent at what he does. Having said that, he is the only server around this pool…he was run off his feet!Restaurants were the big disappointment for us. Food was just ok, mostly just lukewarm at all restaurants. Service for the most part was slow. But, we realized that the restaurants are severely understaffed. I think that would be the big thing with this resort. Understaffing which seems to be why they can only seat half the tables. The buffet, in my opinion, was one of the worst Ive seen at an all inclusive for a long time. Definitely cater to kids. Where were all the vegetables? It seemed to be all burgers, hot dogs, pizza, fries and various pastas. On a positive note, this resort is clean, beautifully landscaped and well maintained but would we go back? No!

Good fun
We would recommend the Mexican restaurant for lunch and hitting the a la carte for dinner. The la carte fills up quickly so we needed to book at 8am when the reservation for the day opened up. And if you want a lounge chair be sure to get out there early. We had good fun participating in the events. The silent dance party was our favourite. A fun stay with decent food. We would go back and close to town.

Average Resort
We enjoyed our time at this resort. The rooms were nice and the resort was clean. The pools are nice and so is the beach. However, initially our room was not what we had reserved and paid for and could not accommodate our family size. Guest services resolved this but this was frustrating when arriving very late after a long travel day. We also ran into issues booking dinners at restaurants, especially around New Years, they do not have the space to accommodate guests who are not a preferred member (i.e. time share) UNLESS you spend money on wine...once you spend money on wine you will get into the restaurants. This shouldn't be the case. I wouldn't stay at a resort again that operates this way with tiered memberships around restaurant bookings.

DISAPPOINTING HOLIDAY
The resort sells itself as a 4 star resort with and Adult/Privilege option. We upgraded to the privilege option at the resort because we realized the standard we booked would be subpar. With the privilege they assign you a "BUTLER". Who is simply there as the gatekeeper to the al-la carte restaurants. YOU MUST BOOK through him/her to get reservations at restaurants. Checkin was quick and easy at the EL BESO front desk as we took a taxi and had no other groups were checking in. The room we requested was remodeled and was clean and spacious. The view amazing from the 4th floor. As we don't mind walk stairs or taking the elevators. In fact, this was not a privilege room since we didn't have a hot tub on the balcony. The water pressure was weak. MINI bar was fully stocked with beer pop and water, booze not so much The grounds are beautiful, covered walkways, romantic pathways, lovely large pools 4 to be exact. 1 party pool one quiet and for kids and then the Adult section. No shortage of chairs no shortage of drinks. The privilege section had its own sunbathing area, which got full. still plenty room around pool. The beach was super. Wide super soft sand. Beach chairs were available under the palapas, but by afternoon on a sunny day not available.( we unfortunately had five days of cloud and some rain, so sunny days the beach was packed. The location of the hotel was great has you could walk for kilometers. The water was rough on most days so the water is not blue or clear, but this is Mexico. They did a good job, with an old MASSEY FERGUSSEN tractor, to remove the sea grasses that would wash up. The privilege dining area was new and very comfortable. The views awesome as it was next to the sea. and the AL FRESCO breakfasts and lunches were memorable. NOW THE BAD: THE FOOD was bad to mediocre and sometimes non existent. I give it an F. The al la carte breakfast and lunches were ok. PORTIONS small and often lacked flavour. Salt and pepper nowhere to be found. The coffee was like they used rebrewed coffee grinds even the espressos and other specialty drinks were yuk. AND Mexico has good coffee. The Buffet had no variety, small portions, and lacked abundance. For a 600 room hotel that had 80% occupancy there should have been many many choices. The food available had no flavour and was subpar quality. I'm in Mexico and wish to see guacamole at every meal. They had some at the buffet but it soooo SPICY even the locals didn't touch it. The a-la-carte restaurants were not much better. They get a C for overall service, the house wine was like vinaigrette and the salad dressing was like wallpaper paste or non existent, they get a B for presentation. They are renovated and new but lack ambience, the decor is mismatched and missing the WOW factor that they are trying to convey. SERVICE: ABSOLUTLEY the worst ever. The staff are great and friendly until u complain. The total lack of organization and service protocol is a joke. THIS COMES from management and not the staff themselves. You will have been greeted by three staff and still NO menu, NO coffee, and NO drinks. once you order you will again get one item from one staff another from another and down the line it goes. And yet ask for ketchup, nobody brings it. ask for a spoon nobody brings it. HALF the time we received only half of what we ordered. Like they are controlling the food you consume. The BUTLER thing is also nonsense. If you don't have one then you will never eat the al la carte restaurants. If you ask for a reservation on your own the answer will be not until 9.00pm, then you walk by at 7.30 pm and the place is empty. THEIR idea of trying to convey exclusivity wears very thin for people that want to relax and be not adhere to their schedule. I'm happy to give them advise on how to manage turnovers in a restaurant setting. ENTERTAINMENT: They have a great team and try to engage the kids alot. They do a good job as there are alot of kids all ages. The shows themselves, Amateurish. I give it B for effort but C for quality. My OVERALL opinion is I won't come back and I like to be a repeat guest. I paid 5 stair price and received 3 star service and food quality. The location is the best as it was close to the airport and PUERTO MORALES which is enchanting and has a great music scene and night life. But my vacation is about service and food quality.

Average Resort for the cost
We recently stayed at Ocean Coral and Turquesa for two weeks over the Christmas Holiday. The airport transportation wasn’t very friendly or good. When we arrived at the hotel, we tipped the driver three dollars Canadian, which we thought was fair as other passengers didn’t even bother to tip. The driver insulted us saying that he doesn’t accept “metal” and demanded that we provide him bills instead. Off the Start we did not have a good experience and found that to be quite rude as we didn’t have any American money at the time. The reception was quite friendly and it brightened up our day. We had to wait until 3 PM to check into our room, but we were able to enjoy the amenities of the resort. Overall, we found the rooms to be quite dated, although adequate. The king size bed was extremely hard and almost felt like we were sleeping on a brick. The maid service was quite good and we did tip our maid as we now had American money. Overall, the food was actually quite good at all the restaurants and the buffet. Although the buffet was quite repetitive and was pretty much the same food every night with minor differences, it was still quite good and we enjoyed it very much. The one thing that we found foolish was the first come first serve at restaurants so you could not make reservations for those restaurants and you have to break up your day and wait in line 30 to 40 minutes prior to the opening of the restaurant. They gave priority to The upgraded Privilege customers who were permitted to make reservations at first come first serve restaurants. They often held at least HALF the restaurant tables empty just in case others from the privilege would book. I really think they should just get rid of this waiting in line process and just have all Reservations. If they want to give priority to privilege then that’s fine but at least we should be able to book a reservation so we don’t have to queue up in a line for 30 to 40 minutes. A bit of a downer was my wife suffered an injury on the fifth day of our trip at the pool on a broken tile inside the pool. It caused a gash on her big toe while walking into the pool as her toe got caught on a sharp broken tile and she required 17 stitches at the hospital. Although the staff was very nice and seemed to be sympathetic, they did not really offer much to compensate us for the loss of basically the rest of our trip due to disrepair of their pool. The hospital doctor ordered my wife could not go into the pool anymore and could not go on the beach as it could infect her injury. So this caused a bit of depression on our part because we were unable to enjoy the rest of the trip as we should have. Although accidents do happen, I believe something could’ve been done to mitigate the fact that their pool was in disrepair and was the cause of her injury. On another note, the beach had a lot of seaweed on it however we noticed that this was one of the only resorts in the area that actually use the tractor to try and get rid of it and clean up the beach so this is definitely a plus for them. However, we would recommend Water shoes for the beach. The shows provided by the animation team were fairly average as we have been to other resorts that have provided better entertainment. This would not be such a big deal if the location of the resort was closer to the town or other amenities around. Also, they shut their indoor theater and all the shows were outside. Given the season it did rain a fair bit so they had to shut some shows down. They did not have a disco, although you could go to the pool area where there was a DJ, but unfortunately, they needed a little bit more nightlife at this resort. A bit of a letdown on the entertainment and dancing part. The taxis to travel to other places were all triple the price even the resort was aware of this. Thus the extra cost was quite big as the resort is fairly secluded. Serving staff was a bit aggressive when it came to tipping. We tip and feel this is important but it should not be aggressive to make guests uncomfortable. The Gym area was terrible. It was misrepresented online. Tiny gym could not accommodate hundreds of people - fail marks on this. OVERALL, the resort is average. Quality wise we would give it a 3 star.

Very nice resort!
Aside from some checking in line up everything else was amazing! The system is bit messed up, we got the bands right away but we had to line up for activating the room key. Instead of 3 pm we end up getting the room at 4.30pm.

Great Resort Worth every penny
My wife and I had a great time here, we stayed in the Privilege section. We received lots of upgrades and spent our time in Privilege restaurant and pool area for adults only. The resort was big, well maintained and lots for us to do. The food was excellent at all restaurants and the buffet. Drinks were great as always and with privilege we got premium alcohol. It may not be a fancy high end resort, but we are easy going and this was perfect for us.

The Ocean Coral and Turquesa exceeded all my expectations! The grounds are gorgeous, great pools and have every amenity you’d need or want, including a bowling alley! We were there as a family and kids were beyond happy there. The rooms were lovely and kept spotless. Food was great and lots of choices. Most of all, we appreciated the amazingly kind and friendly staff. They were the best!

A decent 4 star resort
My husband and I stayed at the adult-only El Beso side in mid-April in a prestige ground level room in building 2 and here are the pros/cons of the resort: Pros: - SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING EVERYWHERE! Best I've had. - Spacious, updated room with large patio and lots of quiet and peaceful surroundings - pools are beautiful and we could always find a chair - grounds are kept up beautifully - close to the airport Cons: - beach was full of smelly sargassum (seaweed) and the ocean was rough and appeared "dirty" from the seaweed. The resort cleans it up a few times a day but it doesn't help much due to the massive volume of seaweed. We did not use the beach at all for this reason, but the hotel has great beach chairs and shade. This is clearly not the resort's problem so this won't be reflected in my review. - food was not great and I've been to 12 different caribbean all-inclusive resorts in Mexico, DR, Cuba, Jamaica, Aruba and Nevis. Received raw chicken at one a la carte (like actually raw on the inside), and a blue rare steak at the italian restaurant when I ordered medium. Buffet was not great, and I enjoyed the food much more at a couple of other 4.5 star resorts in Mayan Riviera previously - drinks aren't great...liquor is watered down (we did several taste tests with no mix) and I did not enjoy many of my drinks

Perfect family holiday!
This resort has wonderful service, it's very clean, the rooms are large and the beds super comfy! Its about 30 minutes from the airport and there is not much nearby but you can go to Puerto Morelos in a taxi in about 10 minutes. We went on a catamaran tour to Isla Mujeres which was excellent. I traveled with my 16 and 13 year old sons who loved the resort especially the pools and wildlife around the resort. It was 32 celcius every day. Shows and daily entertainment were fantastic. The food was the best I have ever had at an all inclusive resort, especially the authentic Mexican Restarant Hacienda Girasoles. We left with some awesome professional photos that we purchased from the photo company inside the boutique. Memories to last a lifetime!

Great place
A very comfortable and stylish complex of buildings, pools and walkways. Rather narrow, but pleasant beach with umbrellas and sun beds. The water at the shore not very transparent due to waves stirring the sand. Some floating seaweeds. The coral reef about 1 km off the shore, available by motor boats on snorkeling trips, around U$ 65 per person. Also kayaks and catamarans for rent (free). Enough restaurants and food to please anybody. The resort located within one hour from Cancun airport. Other attractions are situated further down the coast. Can be reached on a excursion form the hotel, taxi or a rented car.

Loved almost everything!
Great staff, beautiful pools and lovely rooms. The beach is nice, but the water isn’t great for swimming because of the seaweed, although the staff tries their best to clear it. The only disappointment was the food at the Mexican restaurant. I would recommend this resort and would go back again.

Good value
View from a 75 year old. Check in is slow. Hotel package offer is time share offer in disguise. Easy to say no. We stayed 2 weeks Feb-March. Junior Garden suite near kids pool. Rooms are spacious and very well equipped with soap, shampoo, shave kit, toothbrush kit etc etc. King bed was firm and comfortable. Lots of storage and a safe. Decent coffee maker. Bar had 4 soft drinks, 2 light beers and 4 bottles of water. Restocked daily. Separate bath (top rusting from salt) and good shower with lots of hot water. Decor was dated ie orange tiles, mirror could use resilver. Nice patio furniture. Lounge chair used as a desk chair was a bit irritating. Free WiFi with good connectivity. Cleaning staff excellent. I found restaurants above average. Never had a tender steak in Mexico before. Good buffet with lots off variety. An oddity, need to ask for salt and pepper at all restaurants. A plus, food not allowed outside restaurants. Staff varied from excellent to indifferent. Typical entertainment, with not enough seating for all to view. I enjoyed some of the shows. Great beach. Seaweed constantly removed by tractor. Pools clean and a boisterous party pool for the younger set. Good kiddies pool. Usual issues with towels claiming spots on beach and pools. Go before 8. Expect to see iguana, gecko, feral cats, agouti, coati, racoons and even alligators in a contained wild area. Pelicans and frigate birds abound and you may see an oriole. Birding fair at best. Grounds are well maintained. 1 hr walk to Puerto Morales, or take a free 25 minute bike tour to town.

Beautiful rersort
1) The grounds of the resort are well maintained and the fine sandy beach is cleared of algae regularly 2) The rooms are spacious and comfortable. However, - The temperature control thermostat was erratic, fluctuating between 20c and 25c, although set at 23c - The shower water temperature is a problem: It took 5+ minutes before it reached a comfortable level but then it tuned from extremely cold to hot on its own. A safety issue! 3) Excellent choices of tasty food were available at the buffet, and most other restaurants. However , the Japanese restaurant was a bit disappointing, especially when we were charged $51 CAD for a small bottle of Saki (we were not told we had to pay for it before ordering ) 4) One shower at the large pool was out of service during our 10 days stay at the resort 5) Night entertainment was not as good compared to our first time stay at the resort some five years ago.

Fabulous resort
We had a good 2 week stay at this resort. The resort is large but everything was easy to get to. The weather was perfect with only 1 rainy day where they held the outdoor activities in the lobby. The pool was really nice but found it was cold in the morning but warmed up later in the day. The room was spacious with the most comfortable beds. I had the best sleeps while I was there. The showers were big but very slippery. Our package had a trip to Playa del Carmen which we took advantage of. Nice town with lots of souvenirs and hi end stores. We only reserved 1 dinner which was at the Italian restaurant and it was very good. A large variety of food in the buffet restaurant. Saturday was Mexican theme night in the buffet restaurant and vendors came in and sold their products. Thursday afternoon is the foam party in the swim up pool. Lots of fun. The entertainment group got you involved in different activities. The only downfall is the resort is in the boonies so you had to take a cab where ever you went. A great resort with lots of fun.

Wonderful Resort
We have stayed at resorts up and down the Riviera over the last 20 years and our 10 day stay at Ocean Coral and Turquesa was lovely. All the boxes we look for were checked, well maintained beach lovely for swimming, sunning and long walks. Solid dining with a buffet that was consistent and fresh and specialty restaurants that were equal to most good resorts, I enjoyed Blue Moon and Route 66. The coffee shop, Mike’s, was a welcome stop for a capacino or fresh pastry and the numerous bars always provided a selection of cocktails served quickly by a cheerful and attentive staff. Surprises were the little unexpected toppings like an amazing piano player in the main lobby evenings or margarita night and martini night. we’re not usually one for shows, but really thought the ones we saw were well done. We happened to be there for Super Bowl and they had an amazing big screen set up in front of the ocean that will be quite memorable. We are a mature couple who were there Yeah, he’s with a brother and sister-in-law, but if you have young children, kids pool, water park and entertainment area looked absolutely stunning, and was very well maintained and supervised. All staff we encountered were attentive and looking to make our holiday enjoyable. No question we would return again

It could be better!
Well, it is not a 5* resort. It is more like 3*. I should get a luxury room with an ocean view. I got a huge room for 5 people, which was stinking very badly. Of course I couldn't sleep in such a stench so they moved me to a small quite comfortable room without the stench. None of these rooms had a sea view. This resort was very peaceful and quiet. The room service was slow and the people taking care of the resort were always expected tips for anything they did. The food was not the best. You had the impression that you were eating dishes that were made a few days earlier. In fact, only fruits and vegetables were fresh, the rest was not. Overall, I bought a very expensive multi-day vacation that was not worth the money and was very disappointing. I don't think I would go on such a vacation again and certainly not to this resort...

Clean tidy and comfortable resort
It took 2 days to get the humidity out of the room but after that it was comfortable. The grounds were immaculate, staff kept things looking good. The pool was clean, and the service was great. I would suggest that the hotel monitor 2 things - their no smoking policy is not policed and allowing people to place their towels on the lounge chairs then never show up is not fair to others. If your shower doesn't have hot water - turn it on 10-15 minutes before hand so that its warm when you are ready to use it. The restaurant staff are beyond fabulous - they are kind, helpful and friendly. The food at all venues was great - you can call always find something delicious. The Mikes Coffee staff are the quickest baristas I've ever seen, serving up great coffee. But, the roads to the hotel - full of pot holes - are the worst - be prepared for the roughest ride of your life.

Amazing resort
We had an amazing time at the resort. I’m a very picky eater and the food was better than my expectations. I’d say it was very delicious. I had an amazing prime rib dinner at the buffet one night, the breakfasts were always my favourite. There was a honey comb that gave fresh honey for pancakes. The A la carts were delicious too. The pools were beautiful. Bartenders at the swim up were very attentive and I loved the different drinks they made. Our room was big and clean. The ac was cold and house cleaning was amazing. The shows were all entertaining. So much to do at the resort. I highly recommend the beachside massage!!! Now, the water was a bit wavey but the beach itself was kept up daily with minimal seaweed. Sand was soft and clean. There was lots of chairs around the pools. The staff worked effortlessly to ensure guests were well taken care of. I can’t wait to go back to this resort. First time in Mexico and the memories I have will last a life time! Thanks to my travel agent Heather for suggesting this resort that matched all my wants in a vacation!!!!

Great resort - horrible beach water
The Ocean Coral and Turquesa is a very nicely laid out resort, with 4 pools (1 Adult only, 2 general pools and a children's pool) The El Beso (adult only) room was recently renovated, and well appointed, with a shower, bathtub and private toilet area. spacious room with a couch and desk area. Lots of plug-ins and USB connections for those electronics in our lives! Of the 6 restaurants, 3 required reservations (all done through the Ocean Coral app) and provide a great selection of choices. Japanese grill; Italian; Mexican; Brazilian skewers; Romantic Dining and a burger shop. The Villa Marina (Brazilian) was being renovated for most of our trip, but it opened in time for us to enjoy. The buffet offered numerous choices daily, with vegetarian, gluten free meals available. And their dessert section was delicious! The only complaint we and many others had, was the color of the ocean water at the beach. Not sure if this is an ocean current situation along that coastline, but the water was brown for 1/2KM from the shore. The amount of sargassum washing up daily was cleaned as best they could. Overall, a great 2 weeks (Nov 24 - Dec 8) relaxing at this resort, great options for day beds, pool chairs, and beach palapas/chairs, never an issue finding a place to sit. Walking the beach into Puerto Morelos takes approx. 1 hour, and lots to see along the way.

Good time even with Rainy weather
So we arrived at 1130 pm, air transst did great job making sure our whole bus included all us to hotel, I had asked for ground or 1st level ,their English needed a little polishing, finally they mentioned was an elevator and got 3rd floor Jr suite. Looked great and had personal items in bathroom supplied appreciated The main lobby had multi level past bar area which could use some markings where the ceramic tiles are all same colour..00 it drops plus 12 inches ,my hubby luckily landed on his feet when he walked off level. Night entertainment was fine fire wand show Abba tribute and bingo /casino which was only for the French population,karaoke... Restaurants where well supplied with food choices Alot of rain and water on outdoor hallways big slip fall risk - staff tried to keep up but should have had a wet vacuum, All week had to watch not to fall around water from 3 rainy days, Reservations for a la cart were very tricky to manage, air transat rep didn't help with any of that HAD to use the hotel app and air transatapp which .y phone had no room to add another app to.. Finally I got 3 booked Beach was good once they cleaned it from the 3 previous days of rain Pools were great, drinks were very good not consist between indoor lobby bar and pool bar tho LAST MORNING AFTER RAIN STORM MOST oF NIGHT we had 1/2 room with water lying on floor I slipped and fell and hit my head I went to lobby and told them I wasn't impressed but they probably didn't understand told them I hit my head and asked 2 different people for an ice pack but they looked baffled... our ride to airport was going in 15 min Anyways went home to nurse the lump for 5 dsys Air transat - good for plane , but on way home should have handed out declare card 1/2 hour before landing poor decision as we were disembarking to give then Could have been more helpful at hotel no meeting and the timeshare people in lobby had to tell us where to find them Price was good for one week but was surprised how they didn't make their presence known once arrived Happy with trip central booking assistance thank you Wendy. Sorry fir the rant but most people have to watch their physical self to carry on after the holiday and being a nurse just me.

Great employees
Beach: The beach is very nice to go for a long walk. Food: In general the food is good to very good and the employees are dedicated to giving customers a good service. BAD: They have closed 2 outdoor restaurent/buffets and have limited access to one of the best outdoor ones which included a quiet pool area that is now part of the beso/priveledge group. We ended up eating most meals in the general indoor buffet area except for when we were able to get reservations for the restaurants. The bathrooms need to be redone (especially shower), same for the beds although some rooms have new mattresses and they seem to have started renovating a few rooms. The beach is now reduced to approximately 20-30 feet wide when the tide is low and can rise up to the beach chairs which are now right in front of the flower bed area. There is only one row of palapas available due to the loss of beach frontage.

Very impressed with this resort !
was very impressed with this Hotel. Its run by a great organized team that puts customer experience and service as top priority. My family experienced a luxurious, clean, fun and relaxing vacation for a great price . Very impressed with Staff and service, they were all so helpful and friendly. They all went above and beyond to make sure we all felt taken care of . The waiters, chefs and bartenders , all service staff were phenomenal . All very attentive and friendly . The food was AMAZING !! probably one of the best food selections at a hotel i’ve ever been too . Lots of restaurants to choose from . Every day they had different variety of dishes to choose from , i never got bored of eating . We were there on halloween and they made custom halloween dishes for people to try, It was the cutest thing ever . The rooms were also very clean , modern bright and spacious and house keeping was always on point . The entertainment was also lots of fun ! Every day from morning to night there is always something going on for the families . From cooking classes , volleyball , soccer , fun games amongst other things to do . They have a weekly and hourly calendar that is posted on the wall that shows all their events . The entertainment shows at night were a lot of fun to watch, they had professional dancing shows , circus acrobats , karaoke and so much more . The hosts were very energetic as well . From 10:30 pm 12:00 every night they had a kid friendly outdoor dance party every nigh which was a lot of fun . I kind of wish they had an adult after party indoor club and dj that went on a bit later then 12 for those of us that wanted to continue to dance and party . But then again this is considered a family friendly hotel so i can see why they don’t have a club. The dj does need to work a bit on his mixing and music choices when changing songs. As it didn’t flow nicely but he did try his best still fun overall . Beach was nice and clean , although it was Seaweed season and i wish they would’ve cleaned up the seaweed more frequently to make it more aesthetically pleasing. They had lots of pool space and chairs which was nice . The Bars , ice cream parlours , fresh juice bars , coffee shops was also a nice little treat for everyone . Overall it was an amazing experience and i highly recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a reasonable family friendly hotel without jeopardizing any of the normal luxurious you would expect to receive . Ocean Coral Y Turquesa . You all went above and beyond for your guests and it didn’t go unnoticed . Great Job ! Will be recommending you to all my friends .

Great accessibility for reduced mobility
We just had a wonderful week at the privilege section of ocean coral turquesa puerto Morelos. We were traveling with our 93yr old mother in a wheelchair and it was an exceptional spot. Wheelchair accessible rooms and restaurants; a beautiful walkway along the beach and down to the beach chairs. All the staff in the privilege section were the most friendly and caring we have ever had in a resort. Special shout-out to the breakfast staff at the privilege restaurant and in particular Angel, who made my mom’s birthday so special; Fermin who saved us from the only bad staff member we came across in the 7 days we were there; Yazmin and Susana “la jefas†that made sure we had everything we needed; and Chef Socorro that cooked the most delicious steak and octopus we’ve had in a long time. Privilege is worth every penny don’t hesitate to take it. Pros, all the staff, the service, accessibility for reduced mobility, and the wonderful butler service (fantastic Alberto) who looked after us as if we were queens. Cons most of the a la carte restaurants are not as good as the Privilege restaurant and the buffet was very very ordinary, the menus in the privilege section did not have not enough variety for 7 days, the privilege pool bar and beach drink service was just plain terrible (only came by twice a day at the beach, took for ever to get the drinks, the drinks are really inconsistent and watered down, always made with cheap liquor, premium bottles are refilled with the cheap stuff - we witnessed this first hand). If you want a well made drink with quality liquor bring your own mug to the privilege restaurant or the lobby bar. Last of the cons is the air transat hotel rep. He was the most condescending arrogant person we have run into in a long time (his first name is Hannibal). He outright refused to give us information unless we sat down and listened to his sale pitch and kept cutting us off to say « no no no ». He kept saying that if we didn’t hear his full pitch we would give him a bad review for not giving us all the info… and here we are. The best part about this hotel is their employees. They made the whole trip!

Nice resort. I would give it a 3* unless you pay for "privilege"
So many bugs (sand fleas, gnats, mosquitos) we came home bitten. We were put in the "Daisy Club" which is for children (I love children but was not the pool I was looking for). It was very difficult to book a la carts unless you paid extra to be "privileged", it was difficult to get a lounge chair at any of the adult pools. All in all, It was a somewhat nice resort but the beach was so flea infested and full of seaweed that we could not walk it. If you are a smoker/vaper, be advised that Mexico is a SMOKE FREE COUNTRY! Love the sun but will NEVER go back to Mexico....... customs is brutal! You would think that getting off of a plane in Mexico, they would possibly consider welcoming their travellers as we are a big part of their tourism economy.

Good resort - not for beach people
Ocean Coral is a good resort. To put this review into context, we were two couples looking for some R&R. We choose this resort because of the location, price and the variety of options. We were lucky (and asked for this in advance) to be put into the adults only section and upgraded to Privilege. While the upgrade wasn't overly expensive, it was worth it to us. We mostly hung out in the Adults only section and were happy for the peace. There were other options if you wanted a swim up bar, party and had your kids but that wasn't our scene. It was nice to have an option for quiet and an option to party if you wanted. I found that most people respected the vibe in those areas. Except for those - and there are always a few - who play their own music loudly on the beach, by the pool etc.. seriously get headphones is it so rude. The food was ok. We had a mix of experiences from good to decent. Never really any blow your mind food. The buffet (both) was really bad at all times. Thank goodness for the privilege lounge but that menu got stale quickly and forced us to move around. Unfortunately not a lot of non buffet options for lunch. This is not a resort for beach lovers. It is very narrow and while you can't control the waves, it is really narrow and difficult to maintain so if you want to spend all your time on a lovely beach - go to Maroma. The gym is very small but functional. Here is a tip for those who upgrade.... you can book the water experience at the spa, free of charge, every day if you want. HELLO. They don't tell you that. We booked it 5 of the 7 days and it was an excellent addition to our holidays. Overall the trip was great, the food was decent but not spectacular, the pools amazing, the lobby and lobby bar fantastic, beach was nice to see and hear the waves. Overall this is an affordable, decent hotel. If you want a holiday with your kids, this may be the place for you. If you want to party at the swim up pool bar, you have that option too. Everyone talks about the beach chair challenge. It exists. Not for the beach - tons of options at all times. AT the pools 100%. At the swim up bar, if you didn't grab one by 7:00 you were out of luck completely. At the adults only pool, by 7:30. The butler is no help on this at all. You need to coordinate with the towel guy. The beds by the pool very difficult to get and you need to negotiate with the towel guy and basically pay him to get one for you. The butler was not really that useful - really only for dinner reservations, which I would encourage you to book day one. Do your research in advance and book immediately. To me the towel experience and the reservations experience is what takes this hotel down in the * category. Too complicated. Book a reservation, trust that we will return our towels, show up a restaurant and go for a drink when you have to wait 30 mins. They over think it and I get that reservations are important but there could be some accommodation for going with the flow a bit and for those who are willing to wait. One constructive comment would be is that there seems to be an overall lack of training and/or leadership with the staff. What do I mean? Well it is not instinctive to solve problems, to provide stellar service. It did happen on occasion but you can tell there is a lack of training and organizational culture at the hotel. To me this is a leadership/management role and is where other hotels like Excellence stand out among the rest. This can be changed, it doesn't cost money but it has to be a priority of the leadership and it doesn't seem to be. Would I recommend? Yes but go in with some managed expectations and know what is important to you before you go.

Could’ve been better
Everything was quite mediocre compared to the other 4 start resorts I’ve been to. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t be at the top of my list to recommend to someone else. For the price, it wasn’t worth it.

Ocean Coral
Nice resort, clean, good sized rooms, great daily housekeeping. Our bathroom sink was plugged when we got there, called reception, but no one showed up. Next day called again, this time telling them it was running over (which it was not but could have been if we used it for another 5 minutes)., they showed up right away. We were using the hide a bed in the room. but it did not have bedding, this also took 3 calls to get bedding. Lounge chairs on the beach are mostly very dirty and broken, chairs around pools good. (they must dump the chairs that are falling apart on the beach). There are not enough lounge chairs around the pools for the amount of people at the hotel, If you have kids and are staying at the kid pool there is lots of chairs there and hardly any people, but you are far from everything else and bar service is not great there. Most staff are very friendly, helpful and polite, EXCEPT at the check in counter, customer service areas. The staff there are rude, they just want to sell you an upgrade. They are nothing more that salesmen wanting to nickel and dime you to death. They will try to force you to book trips with them, buy the upgrade packages, waste you time on tours of the resort etc. Our group was very turned off by the staff here, one of the reasons we would not go back to this line of hotels. Booking of restaurants very hard to do. You must use their website, lucky a few people in our group brought their cell phones. We normally don't travel with ours as it is too expense outside of Canada. There is two websites (?) to book restaurants through, one works better than the other. Booking opens at 9 every day and is full by 9:10. So you need it be paying attention to time, and you can only book for that day. THAT IS UNLESS YOU PAID FOR ONE OF THOSE UPGRADES they are trying to sell you. Which I think was an extra $30 per day for everyone in your group. Then you can book for the whole time you are there in advance. The beach is narrow, lots of seaweed, they try to clean up everyday. Not the resort fault as all hotels along the beach seem to have the same issue.

My vacation in Mexico
The hotel was very nice, clean and staff very friendly. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning staff did a good job. The grounds were looked after very well. The pools were kept clean but getting lounge chairs was difficult unless you went down to the pools before 8:00am. My one main complaint was that the food in the buffet was not very hot.

Best resort ever! Fun and peaceful holiday!
This was a magical holiday. From the second we arrived we knew this resort was a gem! I was travelling with my husband, children and their partners. The staff were spectacular! At check in, Fernandez (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) recognized I had mobility issues and changed our room to a central location. He also noticed I was upset but made me laugh and got me a margarita! Room was spotless and housekeeping were amazing! The bed was amazing and really appreciated having a couch in the room! We had a cat sanctuary that we could see from our balcony. Loved it and how well the cats were taken care of! I love cats lol Animation team was so fun without being intrusive. Restaurants, we got to try all of them and that’s rare a resort. Every restaurant had a hostess that would enquire about food allergies and sat everyone well spaced. I have a ginger allergy so I felt safe eating whatever I ordered. The servers were spectacular! A level of training you rarely see! Lobby bar servers in the evening were an absolute joy and made you feel so welcome! Check in and out was so quick and efficient! I would return to this resort forever! Thank you one and all for a memorable trip that I relive daily! Mucho Gracias ðŸ™

Lovely resort
This resort was well kept, very clean and run by friendly accommodating staff. Very comfortable and clean rooms. The ala carte restaurants were amazing..I loved blue moon the best, sensei was also very good, I must say they were all good and there was a variety of choice at the main buffet. We enjoyed the adults only section. The bistro bar was run efficiently and the food was delicious. I would recommend this resort to anyone. I highly recommend the hotel but I hate Sunwing..the worst customer service and worst airline out there today.

It was ok
When we booked, I did ask if we were going to be around children and if it would be loud. We were told no yet we are 2 people with no kids and were. put in the nosiest part of the hotel. Kids screaming at 5 in the morning. Not impressed with this booking as they wanted us to sit through a time share just so we switch rooms. We get to switch after 3 days with out sitting in an hour and a half presentation, but hasn't happened yet. The rooms are ok nothing special. Some service sucked but they are under staffed for the size of the resort. We both have been to better and probably will never come back to this resort.

Good Resort
Just returned from a week long vacation Nov 13-20. The resort is very clean, renovations being done on some of the El Beso privilege and regular rooms and the Villa Marina restaurant(which is running temporarily in the evening outside at Ocean Burger. We stayed in El Belso ocean view 4401, which had a great ocean view. Minor problem with deadbolt it wouldn’t latch . Went to reception, maintenance was at room with ten minutes to fix it. Deadbolt fixed but now door won’t lock when leaving Reception called again came 30 minutes later and after 30 minutes fixed and works perfectly. Great service. Huge covered balcony two chairs and a table Buffet lots of choices. Good food but it was not all that hot. If you like it hotter, they have a microwave for guests to use. Waiter service at the Adult pool was the best we have ever experienced anywhere. Ricardo is a tireless worker and how he remembers what you were drinking is amazing. El Beso for lunch one day, the fish tacos are amazing and so is the ravioli and grilled sausages(appetizers). Went to Ocean burger for lunch one day, was very disappointed. Processed hamburger Pattie’s , very dry, bun dry, ordered signature Coral burger came undressed had to ask for lettuce, onion, no pickles no peanut sauce, which is fine but why have signature burgers listed and not dress them according to their menu. Found that strange. Will not be eating at Ocean burger again. Dinner at the Italian (in door), minestrone soup was good as was the ravioli, Caesar salad is good but a different presentation ( full romaine lettuce leafs with salad dressing, croutons and cheese , you have to cut it up and mix it up). Had the seafood linguine (which is technically an appetizer) but they made it my main it was very good. My husband had the chicken parmigiana with angel hair pasta and he was disappointed, chicken was over cooked and dry and a very small portion of angel hair pasta. Enjoyed the Abba tribute outdoors one evening. Very entertaining. Breakfast at the buffet, standard fare, good, great service , something for everyone. Lunch at Route 66 very good the seafood ceviche delicious nachos , quesadillas and chicken nuggets all good Dinner at the buffet on Italian night, a little underwhelming. Pasta was good as was the chicken parmigiana. They need more people manning the pasta station to get the line moving but I understand everywhere is struggling with hiring staff. Overall good but would not have suspected it was Italian night if I was not told in advance Dinner at Villa Marina tonight excellent Carlos the waiter was great. Chocolate martini from lobby bar is delicious . We did experience issues trying to get new pool towels, but wasn’t a show stopper for us, we just kept ours the whole week. The beach was well maintained and the setup with chairs and palapa’s are plentiful and close to the ocean. The ocean was warm and for the most part sea grass free. My observation of this part of the coast is that the water is not the aqua blue that I am used to seeing further down the coast towards Playa del Carman and Akumal . Overall enjoyed our experience at OCT.

The resort was a beautiful older place little hard at times to find room but kept well ,the staff were very helpful
Had a great stay ,the room was kind damp but well kept ,the cleaners were very accommodating to our needs as we had three adults. It’s a beautiful older place . The pools and beach area clean with lots chairs and clean . The bartender/waiter Antonio was great and took care of our drinks and gave very useful info to us ,thank you . We were very disappointed in restaurants the food wasn’t much to brag about except the Mexican restaurant were we had a waiter named George who too care of a lot people for drinks and food he never stopped . What a great waiter and we finally had Guacamole which we could not understand was the only place to have it ,whenever we went to resorts before it was always available, we were very disappointed about that . Thank you for staff in the buffet area .

We had a good time at this resort, the food was good and the rooms were clean. The only negative thing I can say is on the last day we were there someone somehow spoke the wife’s and my drinks and we ended up having a very rough night. Will not go into detail but we doth fell that what happened should have been handled a lot better then what it was. Will never visit this place again because of it

Worth the wait!
After two and a half years of waiting to feel safe enough to travel we finally made it to Mexico once again! Upon arriving at Cancun airport we were pleased to see a small transfer van which took us directly to Ocean Coral & Turquesa Hotel. Room was on ground floor which was perfect as one of our trio has mobility issues and the elevator does not work that well. All hotel staff wore masks at all times and the buffets required guests to mask and glove to choose food items. The food did not disappoint - lots of fresh fruit always and good variety. Once you figure out the reservation system on the app (you still have to call guest services for reservation code?? ) all four a la carte restaurants were great, especially liked the Italian and Japanese cuisine. Because the beaches were not walkable and the ocean devastated by the Sargassum seaweed in most of this area we never saw anyone on the beach and only a few brave souls in the water. They work so hard to try to manage this but afraid it is a losing battle. We so wanted to see the beautiful crystal clear turquoise water this area is famous for that we booked a tour via Sunwing rep to visit Isle Mujeres. This was one of the most professionally run tours and beautiful ways to see the island; catamaran trip and snorkling then to private beach & restaurant. The water was clear and pristine and lovely. Most staff at the hotel were so helpful and accommodating - maid service terrific. The bartender at the pool bar clearly could use help as he was doing his best to keep up with the party crowds requests that he just ignored anyone else at the bar. Always felt safe and comfortable at this hotel and for the first time in over 2 years didn't worry about Covid concerns.

Beautiful resort!
This resort is starting to get dated, but still offered all the amenities and good service to make our stay a memorable one. The worst part would have to be the beach as it was overtaken by seaweed. I thought that all resorts in the Mayan Riviera had the same issue but saw photos of family and friends that stayed at different resorts which were able to clean the beach to make it swimmable. Luckily my kids were more focused on the swimming pools…

Nice resort. but aggressive with joining on hotel club and seaweed on beach very smelly
Very nice resort. I understand pushing hotels clubs and times shares but pretending my brothers room was not ready in order for us to stay through a discussion on the hotel club was a big turn off. The not enough chairs around pool and beach was crazy unless you got up at 5:30 and saved chairs you were pretty much out of luck for the day. Now the worst is the seaweed. So much seaweed I know its not the hotels fault but using the tractor to clean some of it during the day caused the worst smell ever. The 10 foot pile beside the privilege area does not incline you to join the H10 hotel club

Beautiful resort
We enjoyed our week (Jan 24-31) at this beautiful resort. Staff was so friendly & really went out of their way to look after everyone. The resort had hand sanitizer everywhere & the staff wore their masks consistently. Chairs around the pool & tables in the restaurants were well spaced. The food was amazing. Loved all the ala carte restaurants & the buffet was outstanding. Some of the food that was ordered could have been a bit hotter, but I think the staff did a great job trying to get the food out to everyone. The 3 pools & kids area were very well maintained & beautiful. Lots of palapas on the beach & umbrellas around the pool. We were first put in the 4 block of rooms, but the smell was terrible, so we were moved the next morning to the 3 block & the room was great. Large room & balcony. Very nice large bathroom with great amenities. All in all we would highly recommend this resort. Lots of walking & stairs so for people with mobility issues it might not be ideal. Covid testing was done in our room & we had the results the next day. Very convenient. Don't hesitate to go to this resort.....it's well worth a visit!

Ocean Coral and Turquesa Review
We were a party of 4 adults who stayed in the Adults section of the resort! The food was really good, the grounds were beautiful and well kept! The grounds keepers work very hard to keep it looking nice! The sand on the beach was raked and cleaned of grass and seaweed daily! Would like to mention how hard Jemmima works taking drink orders and delivering them none stop! This lady is incredible! also Wilbur at the pool bar makes wonderful drinks, and works none stop! Our room was very clean, but nothing special, however the Jacuzzi on the balcony was great! I would return to this resort if I were able to get a one bedroom, ocean view, not a regular room!

Great location, short walk to beach, nice pools - could have used more loungers, if you didn't reserve one by 6 am most were gone, not enough loungers on beach as well, only 2 per palapa, not ideal fo family of 5. Nice beach, great for walks, only a little seaweed. Food was good overall but at lunch beach grill lacked variety, and main buffet was noisy, daisy grill was small and hit or miss. Lots of choices for dinner but again you had to be there early if you wanted a specific time, did not like having to rush down every night with kids only to find out we couldn't eat till 8:30 (privilege can make reservations) Had fun bowling, watching shows, enjoying drinks and music at he lobby in the evening. Wonderful Resort !!
This resort was amazing from the moment we entered. As soon as you were checked in which was quick and efficient you walk out the front doors of the lobby and the ocean and pool were directly in front of you within feet. Closest resort we have ever been to the actual ocean. Our room was 14305. It was a short walk from the lobby and completely covered so if there was any rain it was no worry to get to different amenities on the resort. The room was a garden view room but just over the palm trees you could actually see the ocean. The room was so spacious and clean. Everything at this resort was a very short walk. The set up was very convenient and efficient for getting around to the different amenities. The bowling was amazing. We bowled every day and it was big ball bowling so we had never done this before. We enjoyed daily ice cream from the ice cream parlor and specialty drinks from Mikes Café. The food was amazing at all the a la cartes and the buffet. We loved that no reservations were required for a la cartes beside the Sensai. The beach was very well cared for with not a lot of seaweed. It was however very windy the entire week we were there so it was hard to stay on the beach because it was so cold and the sand was pelting off you. Our only complaint was not enough chairs on the beach and especially at the pools. We did not get a chair at the pool till our final day as a lot of the guests reserve chairs using there towels by 7am. We enjoyed the entertainment. There was a lion king, grease, and a fire and light show which were amazing. The other nights we were not overly impressed with the entertainment. We also enjoyed a day at the spa. The actual spa amenities that you get to use while being there were amazing. We just were not overly impressed with the services for the price we paid. Upon leaving we checked with Air Transat the day before departing as we were directed to do so because of the time change that occurred while we stayed. We were informed to be checked out at 7:20 and the airport transfer would be at 8:20 am. We were all checked on the morning of leaving and went to breakfast. When we came back our shuttle to the airport had left without us. We had no Air Transat Rep to talk to because they were not in till 9am. We therefore had to get a cab to the airport and pay out of pocket. We were so stressed. Got to the airport and still no one to talk to about what happened. It was a $40 US fee to get us to the airport and we would have been ready if they told us the proper times. This wasn't the resorts fault but I thought it should be brought up and I wouldn't want someone else to have it happen to them. Amazing resort !!

Had the most AMAZING time! Such a beautiful resort! Clean, well maintained, and most importantly, have the friendliest people working there! A fantastic variety of restaurants to choose from, and even though we didn’t take the prestige package, we found that we didn’t ever have to wait more than 20 minutes to get a table. We would DEFINITELY choose to go back, and would of course recommend this resort to others!

You can tell this was once a lovely resort. It needs repairs and wasn't up to the standards of cleanliness I have come to expect. The food was very much like the service, hit or miss. Great Vacation
Everything was just perfect. The grounds and landscaping were beautiful. Trees and green everywhere. Beach nice and clean and water warm. It was really a tropical paradise. We enjoyed it very much. Lots to eat. We mostly went to the buffet and it was delicious. The rooms were very nice and the people very pleasant to talk to. We didn't see too much of the entertainment, we usually went to bed early. But there was a great group in the afternoon. Six-string bass, bongos, keyboards, guitar and great singers and catchy songs. Very nice . I wish we had them in church. All was very nice. A lovely resort. It was nice to see the kids on stage too. The youth workers with them were very good. Kids loved them. And that guy in the afternoon leading the exercise and dancing at the pool was terrific and lots of fun, Erick I think his name was. The waiters were excellent. I promised I would remember their names, but they were all good.

We stayed at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa Feb 25 to Mar 3. 2020 The resort is a really good size making it easy to get around Although it was hard to get into the ala cartes at time the food was all very delicious . There is a smoothie stand ice cream shop coffee cafe and burger stand besides all the restaurants which we enjoyed. The pools were fun with the entertainment team running games and contests in the afternoons. Our pool waitress Karly did and amazing job bringing us cold drinks to keep us hydrated. Such a friendly lady as well Edwardo our lobby bar waiter was exceptional at remembering all our drinks and made us feel welcomed. The walk to Puerto Morales is about 50 minutes long from the resort but the sand is so soft and the breeze so cooling it didn’t seem that long at all especially when we stopped for a beer along the way. All in all I would have to say this was one of my favourite resorts

Great Family Friendly Resort With Exceptional Service
This is a great resort, especially for families. A good mix of adult and kid friendly amenities and services. The food was great and the service was absolutely exceptional. The staff that we encountered was incredible, namely, Roberto, Edna, Antonio, Alfaro and Hostess Grecia Zalaya from the Restaurant Ritratto D'Italia went out of their way to make us comfortable. And our bar girl Rosica was great. They were outstanding and definitely made a big difference in the experience for our family. The one problem we encountered was the difference between the Privilege package and the regular package, we were not informed about this ahead of time and it affected our ability to book the a la carte restaurants. The hotel staff were understanding of this after some discussion and did allow us to book at a reasonable time due to the fact we were with four small children. Other than that there’s not much to say other than the fact that although the hotel and grounds are exceptional, it’s the staff that really shine and make for an amazing experience when staying there. Five stars for the service.

Loved it!
We travelled with our almost 4-year old and our 6 month old baby. We had a wonderful vacation at Ocean Coral. Everything was great! My favourite parts are as follows: 1. Family oriented. The kids pool was an awesome place to hang out. My son loved the waterslides and playground. There's a snack bar and bar right beside, and we spent most of our time here. The beach is so close so we could go between the kids pool and the beach all day long. The daisy club sticks to their rules about only taking kids over the age of 4, but were happy to have my son participate in activities as long as we were somewhere near by. Indy and Irene were lovely and put on fun events for the kids in the evenings too. 2. The entertainment team were awesome. Shout out to Andrea who was so friendly and engaged with us and the kids throughout our stay. The shows were really fun with high quality performances. 3. OCT is attempting to reduce single use plastics. They use reusable cups at the bars and collect them afterward, no straws are offered. I have never seen this at a resort and was pleasantly surprised. The places is spotlessly clean too. The beach was lovely. The buffet was beyond our wildest dreams. The restaurants were all good. The activities were fun. The resort is small enough to be walkable but big enough to keep you entertained for a week, even if you don't leave. We loved it and would definitely go back.
