Tour Spain by Train from Canada (Flights Included)

Spain is one of Europe's great train destinations. The country's high-speed rail network, the AVE (Alta Velocidad Española), connects Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Córdoba, Malaga and the Costa del Sol at speeds of up to 300 km/h, making it one of the fastest and most comfortable ways to move between cities on the continent. Travelling by rail also puts you in the heart of each destination from the moment you arrive — most of Spain's main train stations open directly into the historic centre, with no airport transfers or highway driving between you and the city.
Our Spain by train packages from Canada are built for independent travellers who want to see multiple cities without the complexity of self-planning. Each package includes return flights from Canada, hotel accommodation, intercity rail tickets and a selection of meals, giving you a complete and well-structured trip in a single booking. You set your own pace within each city, but the logistics of getting between them are fully taken care of.
Departure airports: most package flight options are built around departures from Toronto and Montreal, connecting through a European hub to either Madrid (MAD) or Barcelona (BCN) depending on the itinerary. Other selected Canadian gateways are priced using connecting flights. If you do not see your city listed, please call us as we can price it even if it is not shown on our website.

Cobblestone Streets and Sandy Beaches
Visit Spain's largest cities, flying to Barcelona and starting with Madrid, the country's capital, teeming with excellent museums and architecture. Next, head to Costa del Sol for five relaxing nights on the Mediterranean coast. End your trip in bohemian Barcelona.
With a country as vast and bountiful as Spain, travelling by train is a great way to cover as much ground as possible while also taking in the breathtaking sights. Let the smooth ride, great service, and amazing vistas transport you from city to city.
The train tickets and hotel stays are included in the package, along with some meals and many other travel essentials that will help make this trip easy, fun, and unforgettable.
Cities visited: Madrid → Costa del Sol → Barcelona
What to expect in each stop:
  • Madrid: Spain's animated capital rewards even a short stay. The Prado Museum alone — home to Velázquez, Goya and Bosch — is worth the flight. Beyond the museums, the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, the tapas bars of La Latina and the sheer energy of the Gran Vía give the city an intensity that is hard to match anywhere in Europe.
  • Costa del Sol: Five nights on the Mediterranean coast, centred on Torremolinos or the broader Malaga area. Clear blue water, long sandy beaches, fresh seafood and warm evenings make this the natural mid-trip reset between two major cities. Day trips to Malaga city, Marbella and the hill town of Mijas are easy to arrange independently.
  • Barcelona: Gaudí's extraordinary architecture — the Sagrada Família, Park Güell, Casa Batlló — gives Barcelona a visual identity unlike any other city in the world. The Gothic Quarter, La Boqueria market, the beaches of Barceloneta and the dining culture of the Eixample add depth well beyond the headline sights.
Spain's Cities and Coast
Fly into Madrid and depart from Barcelona, for a perfect combination of city and beach holiday. Visit Spain's largest cities and see their most famous attractions, like Madrid's museums, Costa del Sol's beaches, and Barcelona's architecture. See it all from the convenience of travelling by rail.

Cities visited: Madrid → Costa del Sol → Barcelona
What to expect in each stop:
  • Madrid: Begin in Spain's capital with time to explore the world-class museums of the Paseo del Arte — the Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza — as well as the Royal Palace, the Plaza Mayor and the lively neighbourhood bars and restaurants that define Madrileño life. The More Moments inclusions may feature guided sightseeing, entry tickets or curated dining experiences in the city.
  • Costa del Sol: A beach interlude on the Mediterranean, with long sandy shores, warm water and the relaxed pace of southern Andalusia. Malaga — Picasso's birthplace and a city well worth a half-day — is minutes away by local train. The More Moments program may include a guided excursion along the coast.
  • Barcelona: End the journey in one of Europe's most visually distinctive cities. The Sagrada Família is a once-in-a-lifetime sight; the Gothic Quarter, Picasso Museum and the Ramblas provide days of independent exploration. More Moments inclusions may add a guided Gaudi tour or other curated experience.
Travel Through History

Cities visited: Madrid → Córdoba → Seville → Barcelona
What to expect in each stop:
  • Madrid: The journey begins in the Spanish capital, with time to take in the great museums, the Royal Palace and the historic plazas before boarding the high-speed AVE south into Andalusia.
  • Córdoba: A short stop in one of the most historically layered cities in Europe. The Mezquita — a vast mosque with a Renaissance cathedral built at its heart — is one of the most extraordinary buildings in the world, and the surrounding Jewish Quarter and Roman Bridge make Córdoba an essential stop on any Andalusian itinerary.
  • Seville: The capital of Andalusia and arguably its most beautiful city. The Gothic cathedral (the largest in the world), the Alcázar palace complex, the Barrio de Santa Cruz and the evening tradition of tapas and flamenco give Seville a depth and warmth that rewards every extra day you spend there.
  • Barcelona: The journey ends in Catalonia's capital — a city of extraordinary architectural ambition, vibrant food culture and a coastal setting that makes it one of the most complete city destinations in Europe. From the Sagrada Família to the Gothic Quarter to the beaches of Barceloneta, Barcelona is a fitting final chapter for a trip that has covered the full breadth of Spain.
Why travel Spain by train
  • Spain's AVE high-speed network is one of the most extensive in Europe, connecting major cities faster and more comfortably than driving or domestic flying when city-centre-to-city-centre travel time is factored in.
  • Train stations in Madrid (Atocha), Seville (Santa Justa) and Barcelona (Sants) are located in or near the city centre, eliminating the long airport transfer times that domestic flights require.
  • The journey itself is part of the experience — the route south from Madrid to Andalusia passes through the Castilian meseta and into the olive-covered hills of Jaen, and the landscape is best seen at ground level.
  • Rail travel in Spain is exceptionally comfortable: air-conditioned carriages, wide seats, a cafe car and reliable on-time performance make even the longer journeys easy.
  • All rail tickets between cities are included in the package, so there is nothing to arrange, pre-purchase or navigate on arrival.
