An amazing resort, very friendly stuff. We are looking forward to come back.Food was very delicious. We meet so many amazing people there.Beach Sirena and beach Paraiso are very beautiful and the sea is very calm.

Let me start with few words about the booking: we did not know anything about this resort and we based our request on what was posted on the Sunwing website. The booking was done via Tripcentral, Ms. Tammy, who for sure did her best for us. Many THANKS. Sanctuary was one of the latest resorts in Cayo Largo....Very unfortunately decision to suffocate Cuba, and the hardworking people from there who are doing an EXCELLENT JOB to keep all the guests super happy. Let me start with LODGING: it was PERFECT as long as we stayed there. FOOD: I will say that we did not go there to gain weight, and thus, what they served was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT: we did not have any issues, the variety was covering a large range of craves. BEACH: it was posted on the Sunwing website that there is no beach at this resort and transportation to alternated beaches will be available. For a better understanding about the resort beach, I will provide here few details: first day there we took the mini bus to the alternate beaches: PARAISO and SIRENA. Both of them INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The duration of the transfer was 12-14 minutes. Both beaches are inclusive for optional clothing which brings them a nice advantage (IMO). Talking to one of the best people of this Hotel, Mr. Carlos, when we came back from Sirena, he advised us to check the beach which is in front of the hotel at a 4-5 minutes walking distance... We were shocked about the BEAUTY of that beach.... The next couple of days we stayed on that beach...and I ASKED Carlos why that beach is somehow "hidden" from the website and we discovered the TRUTH: during the year, the water comes and go and the beach disappears for the most of the time: he told us, that in normal conditions, the beach is available between the 15th of November and up to the next 15th of February ONLY.... The dates may vary.... In fact this reality applies for all of the resorts which are on that coast: NATURA, LINDA MAR, MEMORIES or STAR FISH... What Carlos told us was proven by the sea: after 8 days, one morning the waves suddenly "ate" the beach and we went again to Sirena, who is something absolutely a dream.... I will mention that I was relying on the Sunwing website info which is OUTDATED that there are tennis courts at the hotels around...I brought with me the racquet and tennis balls to play. Unfortunately, the existing courts at Grand memories CLOSED RESORT), MEMORIES, STAR FISH, are in a deplorable shape...cracks, unleveled, etc. and if you are playing there you will do on your own risk...I suggest to stay away...I was hitting with Carlos, he is a very good player, and we enjoyed hitting few cans of balls... I have to mention few people here who really are PROFESSIONALS and who did everything in order to keep the tourists happy: The Director(Manager) of the RECEPTION DEPARTMENT, Mr. DARYL who definitely makes the difference with his OUTSTANDING customer service attention and care, and who, with elegance and distinction was able to solve any question at any time when we asked him. He has an EXCELLENT English and he has amazing LISTENING SKILLS and he acts instantly by solving any normal request. Very kind, Daryl build a team around him with patience and knowledge. He was very respected by his co-workers and by the tourists as well. Amazing ASSET for Sanctuary! I mentioned Carlos who helps with anything, offers extra steps with trips to LINDA MAR, comes back to pick up at the request, etc. very attentive and as Daryl, FENUINE NICE! I found that our butler, Juan Carlos (JuanCa) was within the limits of his mandate, very useful and very attentive. Overall, we stayed there 9 nights, then we were moved to Memorie and from there to ...Varadero (what an amazing adventure!) in order to return to Canada. The experience at Sanctuary was A PERFECT ONE! Again, the lodging EXCEPTIONAL, very elegant large rooms, amazing bathrooms, everything very clean and functional; No power outages, fresh food, beach - as long as we were there PERFECT! I would rate it as 20/20

Just returned from Memories Cayo Largo. My impression of the resort is it’s a small gem of a resort. Beautiful tucked away resort on a stretch of mind blowing beaches. Though the beach on site is a bit difficult to go down because of the surf destruction once you tackle the first 20 feet you will be in beach heaven, let me add there are stairs as well. The food for the entire week was quite good and some days delicious. The staff was terrific especially Danger on the seafood grill, Lucas in the Ranchon restaurant and Mike at bites in the pool bar/restaurant The only thing that could be better is the bathrooms in your room. They are a bit tired in some of the rooms but in honesty I’m never in my room and not there for that reason. After spending time with many people at the resort for the week I can now understand why they have been countless times and call it there cottage I hope to return some day in years to come.

The cabins are really cool made to look like a cottage from the ultra suede couch,the white wood table and chairs to the back door had a glass door knob and skeleton key. The food was good by Cuban standards basically the same every day with a few new add ones occasionally. Never ran out of anything though. We were drinking Canadian beer Moose head. The week we were there Jan 27-Feb 3 we got bad weather it was cold ,windy and one day it rained all day so it was nice to have a nice big cabin to stay in. We did get two days of sun. The staff were very nice

Cayo Largo is a Beautiful small Island! We stayed at Memories Cayo Largo, the rooms are very outdated and falling apart but we didn’t care to much about the room, you just sleep and shower there. Apparently the Hotel is updating the rooms this Summer. The food was great, there’s a meat station that had, chicken, pork or ham, a pasta/pizza station and a fish station. They also had salads,Turkey 3 nights and Lobster or Filet Mignon that you paid $30 USD for. We loved the Sunset Cruise, we stopped at 3 islands that were spectacular, had Lobster or Chicken to choose from for Dinner, then watched the Sunset!!! I used the spa and had 2 90 min massages during my week stay. There are some bugs at night if your around vegetation but they only seemed to bite me and not the other 5 people we were with. We will definitely go back when the rooms are renovated. The staff are amazing! Bring Cat Food if you love cats, there’s approximately 50 on the resort. Bring a lot of $1 bills for tips, approximately $20 per day. Don’t give Canadian change to them, it’s useless money in Cuba but they can use Canadian Dollar Bills. You can pay your excursions with Canadian Bills also. The Premium package is worth it just for the Butler service, but you also save 30% at the spa. This Resort was an older crowd with very few children or younger adults which we like, were in our early 50’s. We will be returning again!!!

This was our first time in Cayo Largo. As always the people are wonderful and the beaches are spectacular. The food was good, the bed was comfortable, the shower had no pressure. The pool was good, the bars ran out of vodka and lacked basic mix like club soda and tonic but they always had cerveza (so that was good!).

Well kept property and the staff are friendly and sincere in wanting to make your vacation the best possible. They work incredibly hard and long hours to tend to their clients and it shows in the numbers of repeat guests that come 2-3 times annually. Small resort but great variety in activities, food and beverage that is not necessarily available in the larger resorts on the island.

After numerous trips to Cayo Largo and mainly to the StarFish resort, this time we opted and had a great time at Villa Lindamar for 2 weeks with beautiful weather. nice comfortable cabin with TV, modern shower and hot water. the staff were the greatest and helpful group everyday, greetings with smiles and laughter doing as much as possible to make our stay unforgettable. Had an episode needing the service of Cayo Largo's hospital and were treated very professionally and respectfully by the clinical staff. The variety of food and deserts was always plentiful. Had a great time with the buggy for numerous days going into town and to the beaches whenever we felt like it. Again the friendly and hard working staff made all of our stay worth it and will go back anytime. Would recommend this resort to anyone.

I was at here at end of Sept with relatives. Had a great time. The beach was gorgeous and the water amazing. Not my first time in Cuba. This was my first time to Cayo Largo. No problems with the food. Not alot of fresh fruit or veggies. Had amazing omelets every morning. They did have an exceptional baker, we had fresh bread and desserts every day. Yummy. Loved the bungalows. Plenty of room and a well working a/c unit. Bathroom was dated but servicable. Got water every day. I am glad it did not rain while I was there (no umbrella in my room). I was in bungalow 20, so I was pretty close to everything. Also resort was not full. That makes a big difference. All the people at the resort were very friendly and helpful. Shout out to Renaldo at the buffet.

I love it here, but it is not for everyone.The bungalows are amazing.Staff is excellent and very friendly.Pool and food is great.You have to take the bus to the beach, which is okay but sometimes difficult to get back.The main problem is No flights from Toronto, so for me 8.5 hrs drive to Montreal.I want to go back but the drive !

The hotel is small (only 45 bungalows two per room max), cozy, family like treatment, very clean, approachable staff member, grounds very clean, towels are abundant and not paper thin as I have seen in the past from other resorts... afternoon animation games are always fun... the two animators are very sweet, helpful and fun. Food was repetitive at times but very delicious nonetheless... they do the best they can within their limitations. I am there to relax, enjoy the beach etc.. not to gain 10-15 lbs. ? lol - You will always have something to eat. The last night they hosted an elegant "last supper" for everyone. Amazing ! Extra Delicious... what a nice gesture/treat. Pool was salt water, very clean, as well as the washrooms in the lobby/reception area... My bed was amazing... super comfortable (I usually have lower back issues) I slept like a baby. One major draw back, none of the resorts (including this one) has a beach area. Apparently a storm/hurricane had destroyed the water front some years ago... BUT they do have a bus/shuttle service is available to bring guests to two public beaches. It is about a 20 minute ride. I was a solo traveller - and I felt completely safe :)

This was our 26th time to this resort. Some may say we are biased but most people we have met there are repeat guests. It is an older resort but built with Spanish architecture as opposed to a condo style of a newer place. Depends what you are looking for. The beach was great the first week and then the winds came up and it washed away our 2nd week. Didn't matter. The sound of the waves thumping onshore with a drink is very pleasurable for us. As far as food goes food is food. Even if you pay 2-3 times as much for a 5 star we will never eat as well as we eat here. Me being the cook in the family. If you are pool people the pool is kept very clean by Alfredo. Noel Yanny Ernesto and Griffith do a great job at the beach buffet and bar. Starfish has started a butler service and Yuni the manager Eliza Yunet and Daughrie do a great job making sure to help you with any problems. Case in point on our arrival our room had a new doorknob which was loose. Asked Eliza to have the handyman to tighten it up and it was done right away. For drinks they never ran out of beer wine or rum. If you're OK with the basics then all is good. So this review isn't to say it's Paradise. But it is a very relaxed atmosphere. The workers are very nice and make an effort to make sure you are happy. As I started 26 times to Starfish but another 10 elsewhere in Cuba. So as a final note the beach to the the left is for all around suntan or halves and to the right is with bathing suits. Completely apart and your choice and very discreet. There are no security guards saying do this or that, just mutual respect. Already planning our next trip.

Merveilleux endroit pour refaire le plein d'énergie ! Les chambres sont superbes et situées dans un endroit tranquille. La piscine est en bordure de mer. Bien que l'on soit en avril, la nourriture au buffet est variée et excellente. Les gens sont tellement gentils, serviables et souriants ! Il y avait même un bout de plage idyllique !

I love this hotel and the island.Wish we could have gone from Toronto.We had to go out of Montreal which is 8.5 hours in a car.The food is excellent and the staff are very friendly and efficient.if you have been before there is a repeat dinner and a Gala dinner the night before you leave.There is a sandy area at the hotel but you cannot enter the water there.There is a free bus 3x a day and coming back to 3 beaches.The most important thing to know is 1 beach is clothing optional so do not freak out if you go there and 2 hotels that are also clothing optional.The island has always been known for this.You can go to the other hotels ( not many open) but guests cannot come to you.The accomodation is fantastic, bungalows.So pleased I returned.

I go to this resort 4 times per year. Sometimes with my daughter, sometimes with my husband and often by myself. I have physical limitations and love the fact that everything is accessible on the resort. The rooms are dated but are extremely clean and very comfortable. The food selection is great. I always eat very well during my stays. The staff is absolutely the best. So friendly, helpful and always smiling. I enjoy the pool every day and the beach view is incredible. The entertainment staff is very creative and offer show's that are very entertaining as well as fun poolside games and activities. I just came back from a 2 week stay last Wednesday and today (4 days later) I booked my next trip in May.

Had a wonderful stay at this resort. all expectations of the resort were met. would go again. grounds were clean . Would go again for sure. what made this place so special is the staff and the ability to have access to all other resorts if needed. We stayed 90% of our stay at sanctutuary and had a great time. ?❤️

It’s a small resort but that’s what makes it more special. Tranquility and personalized services. Hard workers, and I can see that they made extra effort for me… to compensate for the low income of maintenance of this Villa. And du to low tourist here, some animals made it their habitat, which made my stay less comfortable for me. Overall, it was quite a special experience.

We didn't expect to eat well, we are not fancy eaters neither but this time around in Cuba the food was not good. It was ok for first two days and after it was the same thing from the day before just preheated. Last three days we were eating only pizza because all the food was fermented. Last day there was no more cheese for the pizza. I fell bad for people who working there because its not their fault. The amount of plastic bottles and flip flops on the beach (outside of resort) is unbelievable. The area in front of the room was clean but lots of garbage in the backyard. We rent a car and went to for a ride around the island. We found a pig farm. What a terrible picture to see. The condition the animals live in are unimaginable. They eat garbage and drink their own urine. We didn't eat the meat for the rest of our stay which was 5 days. There was also a lot of cats, they look like they starving. They should be neutered also and there was couple of them with very bad infections of the skin.

53 small bungalows set in a beautiful seaside setting. Breakfast and lunch was served out side, dinner in the main dining room. The sea was very active during our stay except for one glorious day that allowed for swimming. We took advantage of the free shuttle to Sirena Beach, calm water, very worthwhile. Excellent staff, we felt very well taken care of and hope to return next year

A small quiet resort with very clean bungalows near the sea. Great staff that went above and beyond despite the shortages that Cuba is currently experiencing. We felt well taken care of throughout our stay and look forward to a return

Our experience was amazing. It was our first tropical trip and it did not disappoint! The Super Reef excursion was totally worth it. And the resort staff was friendly and fantastic! I wish there was a clearer itinerary for free busses and shuttles. A schedule for events/shows happening would have been nice as well but all in all it was a great experience! Would definitely go back to the island and to the Starfish resort!

First time at Starfish April 10 – 17, 2024 HOTEL: Older, updated resort with Cuban charm. Well-kept. Walkways in good condition and well-lit. Lovely landscaping. Plenty of seating outside. Hotel room was clean, everything worked well. No hassles about anything. BEACH: Beautiful, sandy. At high tide, chairs are on top of a bluff. A great way to enjoy the lovely scenery and admire the waves. Went almost every day, by air-conditioned bus, to Playa Sirena, the most gorgeous, calm, natural beach – no other like it. Only wish the drinks and food would still be free. Cafeteria and Beach Bar Restaurant: Food was good, with enough variety. However, we missed the bread, ice cream, pastry desserts, pina coladas and Spanish coffees - which was good for our health. Beer, wine & other drinks were readily available. Appreciated the cloth napkins. Quickest service ever from waiters/waitresses. BARS: Efficient and most friendly service, except for the pool bar. Due to the lack of supplies, they never had anything we wanted, be it drinks or food. MOSTLY APPRECIATED: Very quiet resort. Never any loud and constant music, resulting in a very relaxing vacation. ALL employees were super friendly and offered good service. We look forward to visiting this resort again. Bring you bug spray though – needed for two hours in the evening. P.S. Congratulations and thank you to SUNWING for your punctuality, and even being early!

The resort is old but the staff work hard to maintain the grounds and facilities. The housekeeping is excellent. The control of insects is poor. The difficulties with supplies make it difficult but the staff are the very best

The hotel Memories itself was ok. Comfortable. Maid service was Hit and miss. We asked for extra toilet paper because my husband was sick. And were told no. Room was clean. Food was worse than terrible. Worse we’ve ever seen or had. Ran out of most foods. Bread. Beer. Wine. No selection of food. Millions and millions of mosquitoes every nite. Didn’t even see one show after dinner. Couldn’t stay outside without getting eating alive. Flight delays on departure was not communicated to us till too late. We had booked our seats with Elite plus as we always do. We were bumped from our seats. Both going and coming back. Not appreciated. First time this has ever happened. If we wanted a different seat we would have booked those seats.

I like this cozy resort. Only 4 rooms per block. Very clean and no issues at all. It's an Adult only resort so it makes your stay a but quieter. Staff is good and very polite It's not the hilton suites but it us Cuba and you can not go wrong at the Caprice.

I loved this resort. The cabins were a good size and very bright and clean. The staff was amazing. Very freindly, helpful and welcoming. I was impressed how hard they tried to handle the food shortage, every meal was well presented and they did the best they could with the little they had. It would not stop me from returning, in fact I hope to visit again at Christmas with my husband

Detailed review of Memories, if you're interested.....thanks to others who have posted helpful posts in the past. ? We went to Memories Cayo Largo – week of March 9th/2024 Background – we’ve been to Cuba before (Holguin) as well as Dominican, Mexico etc. First time in Cayo Largo. Would we go again? Yes. Would we recommend it? Only to those who can roll with things and aren’t picky. Airport – Quick flight from Ottawa. Tiny airport in Cayo Largo. Less than 10 minutes to the resort – amazing! Check in – Super quick, even though we arrived at 11am the room was ready. Not a lot of info at check in was given (we did later meet as a group around 4pm with the Sunwing rep who told us a bit more). Towels – Card given at check in for 2 beach towels. Lose the towels, $10 each. We were able to replace daily. Need to bring towels to check out desk, when leaving. Wifi – They don’t tell you at check in, but you can ask and they’ll give you a ticket with a login and password for 35 hours of wifi. You have to log in every time you want to use it. Quality was decent around lobby/pools. At our room it was hit and miss (building 18). Beaches – Beach at the resort is quite rough/choppy. There’s a narrow area of beach, beautiful coloured water, but rough. We took the train/trolley to Sirena Beach twice. It leaves from the lobby at certain times (check the front desk sign for times). It’s first come, first served for getting on the trolley. The ride is almost 30 minutes….free….but can be very rough/bumpy. Otherwise you can take a cab (not expensive). Trolley returns from beach at set times as well. Sirena Beach is GORGEOUS. If you walk to the right and down the beach to the end area – lots of starfish. Beautiful! There are sun loungers there (lots) and umbrellas. There’s an area you can go buy a beer if you want (not sure about food, we brought snacks) and rent some boats to go out on. Food – We didn’t go hungry. We ate a lot of the same types of things every day. Some days some items were there, the next they might not be (ie – pasta station – sometimes lots of options for toppings, some days barely any). Most nights we had a mini pizza from the pizza/pasta station. If you’re a picky eater or quickly tire of the same things – you might struggle. We brought sauces (mustard, ketchup etc) never used any of it, except we made ourselves the odd peanut butter sandwich to go to the beach, for something different. We brought some snacks & had a few, but didn’t need them. We did the a-la-carte once (which is what we were allowed, not being Diamond Club) and it was fine. A little different than the buffet, which was nice. Didn’t seem to be a dress code in general. Are there flies around the food? Some, yes. Bars – No wine, always had beer (when we were there). Other drinks – some days they had things, some days they didn’t. Room – The room itself was fine. Basic. Comfortable beds etc. The bathroom – the sink was fine – the tub was in ROUGH shape. Stains on it, kinda falling apart. Ceiling area in rough shape. Could we manage? Yes. Was the bathroom nice? No. Room also has a safe in it – you need to tap it with your room card to activate it, then put in a 5 digit code (again things they didn’t tell you at check in and had to ask). Staff – WONDERFUL. Lovely, kind. Pools – Both of them were in older shape for sure. The one with the swim up bar seemed like it was in a bit rougher shape (was always kind of a green colour) as opposed to the other pool that was nice, bright blue. Shows – There was something every night. Entertaining for an hour or so. Bugs – I got quite a few itchy bites. My husband got none. Pretty typical for when we’re down south. For it being March Break for Ontario, we were very surprised how quiet it was. Lots of days around the pool there were very few people there. Clothing optional – As you walked down from Memories to the Starfish area of the beach you saw the “clothing optional” sign. There were some nude folks there and on Sirena Beach. Mostly men. Other items? For our time there – we always had two new bottles of water in our room daily. Never ran out of toilet paper (we brought some with us just in case). Fortunately, we were never sick, a huge bonus. I think that’s always hit and miss. Friends just got back from Dominican, they were sick there, not when they were in Cuba a few months ago. You never know. Good to bring meds just in case, of course. So again, would we return? Yes. We know what we’re getting – beautiful weather, beaches, kind staff, food that we won’t go hungry. If you’re wanting something fancy and higher end this isn’t for you. For the price we paid we were happy with the week we had for sure. You have to be able to roll with things & not have the mentality of “I had a Pina Colada yesterday they HAVE to be available today?!”. If that’s the type of person you are, you’ll be disappointed. We had a great week!

This lovely resort is perfect for me. The rooms are individual cabins, all facing the ocean (some with veiws, others blocked by sand dunes). They are clean and bright. The pool is well maintained and has plenty of shade. The beach is unpridictable (as anyone who travel to Cayo Largo knows), but when it is there, it's wonderful! The food is as good as it can get with the shortages. The staff are exceptional. And of course, working with Nicole Deforest from tripcentral is always easy and a pleasure. I am hoping to return again before the end of the year.

Mum and I had a relaxing week at Starfish but I would not recommend for elders. Mum hurt herself a few times tripping on the uneven walkways and trying to get down the bluff to the ocean. We got a gastro from our last breakfast and have been very sick for the last week.

I have been to Cuba more than a dozen times to many destinations. This was my fourth time in Cayo Largo. The people and beach are amazing. The shortages that they are experiencing are unacceptable. We arrived early Saturday after a 3.5 hour delay leaving Friday. Sunwing gave us a food voucher for the delay. There was no tomato sauce for pizza and pasta. The pizza bar never opened during our one week stay. Tomato sauce arrived on our third last day which was available for pasta but pizza only lasted 2 days at the buffet. There was no bread or desserts for any meal for the last 4 days of our stay. There were no ice cream for our entire stay. We did not receive toilet paper for the last 3 days of our stay and no fresh towels for the last 2 days. I went to the front desk to get clean towels and toilet paper. I also spoke to the Sunwing representative about the shortages and he said they were working on " a deal". I told him with 4 plane loads of tourists (one from Toronto, one from Ottawa and 2 from Montreal ) a week to this resort Sunwing should help out by bringing essentials such as toilet paper and bread. Beer and soda other than cola ran out for 2 days. On our last day I asked for water at breakfast and was told I had to go another section since my section didn't have any more bottled water. Also I was told that the tea and coffee tasted salty since they didn't have bottled water to use to make them. This is a sorry state of affairs. Shame on Sunwing and all tour operators for not giving aid which is so desperately needed. We heard there were "shortages" but no specifics. The shower ran brown water on our last two days for a short time. So sad.

We have visited this resort several times when it was as called the Pelicano and expected to find the same quality and standard of rooms, service, food, drinks, etc. No travel agent should be recommending this resort. Cuba and its people are going through terrible times with massive shortages. Sunwing should be ashamed of itself for promoting this resort while not helping out to ensure that its customers at least get the everyday amenities liked, for example, toilet paper and clean towels and untainted shower water, etc. We experienced 7 days of significant shortages of bread, fruot and vegetables, drinks and liquors. The resort also was low in bottled water and had to use sea water for coffee, tea; and ice cubes (we were very concerned about this and wondered about our safety) . The water from the taps and shower ran murky dark and limey the last couple of days. As an engineer I suspect that the water pipes on the resort were being flushed and cleaned. The customers should have been advised and warned in advance. We should have been advised to run all the taps for a significant time. As an engineer concerned about the safety and well being of people, I would have shut down the resort to ensure the cleanjng and flushing was done properly, We advised the other guests that we had visited the resort before and that this wasn’t typical. Shame shame shame on you Sunwing and anyone promoting this resort!

The very best thing about this resort is the people who work there. Attentive without being intrusive, pleasant without any hint of insincerity, professional, efficient, thoughtful and kind are all descriptions that apply. The idea behind Sanctuary- a quiet adult venue without the racket and frenetic activity that typifies a lot of resorts - is aided by a beautiful location and roomy, well-maintained cabins. Part of the appeal for me is its proximity to the wild eastern end of the island with the opportunity to walk up the road and see creatures and plants that are mostly absent in the western part.

We loved the single cabins. the space was amazing. Always had hot water. The hot tubs weren't too hot, but ask Alex and he will turn it up. They clean the hot tub and the pool. The staff at Sanctuary Grand memory work super hard and are soooo nice. Mariales is the waitress who is sooo attentive. Osmani and Hose the bartenders made great drinks and friendly and patient with me as I kept forgetting their name. Rozmil at the reception always answered my question. food was good. no issues. lesson though, bring peanut butter and ketchup. never thought of it and didn't really need it. they did run out of wine, so that was a bit of an issue, but we went to other resorts and had a few glasses there. so, no biggy. this is a quiet place for 50 plus, which is what we wanted. thank you for a fabulous week. we will definitely book again.

This place is amazing, small island with the turquoise color of the sea and long white beaches.. But despite some problems and small lack, the beach, the sun and the beauty of the place makes me forget all that. The resort was great, the staff was super helpful and made my vacation special. We spent most of time on the beautiful and virgin beach next to our hotel and one day at Playa Paraiso - just a short ride away. We spent a great day at sea aboard a comfortable catamaran, see iguanas on a virgin island, stop for snorkeling, see coral fish, sting ray and even a shark. I like to say thank you to everyone of staff who listens to our needs. The animation team is amazing: dynamic, positive, and energetic! And the band for fantastic music playing everyday. The buffet was good, and we had a good dinner at the a la carte restaurant. A HUGE thank you to Daniel Rodriguez M. for helping to create my stay lovely and very pleasant. Most importantly for taking a special care of my friend when she got seriously ill. She received very good care; her issue was dealt with promptly and efficiently. We have been to Cuba many times but first time in Cayo Largo and it did not disappoint. The staff at Memories went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. Our amazing butler Elba made sure we had everything we needed and more! Remember that Cuba struggles with getting supplies some weeks but we never had an issue. Can't wait to go back.

These beautiful villas are the perfect place to go if you want a quiet and relaxing vacation. The beach was incredible, you can walk it for miles. There are very few people, and the beach did not feel crowded or like a tourist attraction! The food was good for Cuba, they are creative with their ingredients. There was always something to eat. I do suggest bringing some condiments and other staples like pb. Bring your own pillow. The staff are so kind and go above and beyond to make you comfortable. Shout out to Oscar for sharing his knowledge of the island.

This was my first time staying at Starfish Cayo Largo. I booked an ocean view room that did not disappoint with the most stunning view of the ocean. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. I had no expectations and had an open mind to the fact that I was visiting Cuba and there are many supply chain issues. Yes, the food situation was quite frustrating (but got better as more variety of food was added) but the resort is trying to do its best. I brought snacks, toilet paper and spices for the food. I wish I had brought instant coffee as they did run out. The alcohol is plentiful and they have wine. The staff are great, amazing people especially Eliza. The cleaning ladies were also wonderful. The beaches are stunning and the reason you go to Cayo Largo. I could not get over how beautiful the water was and how you can find complete natural solitude by just walking 30 minutes down the white sand beach. If you like snorkelling, there’s great reefs off the beach. I will definitely be returning to this piece of absolute paradise one day.

Beautiful location right on the ocean, quiet and laid back atmosphere. * Staff are exceptionally accommodating and helpful. * Food was okay on some days, and excellent on others (depending on availability). * Drink was plenty- wine/beer with diner & lunch; lots of mixed drink options with rhum ( rhum punch is popular). Beer was in short supply on a couple of occasions, but then available the following day. * Accomodations were clean and adequate - loved the comfy bed (2 large single beds in each room), cool and quiet a/c, hot water always. Some rooms have frosted windows - ours did so we asked to move and the view out of the windows was much better. * Beach is amazing. You can walk for miles, and it is not full of people. Water is warm. Need to be careful of the waves - the water can be rough depending on the weather. * Nudism is quite popular here, on the beach and at the pool and pool bar. NEGATIVE - there is a group of repeat and new guests who are promoting nudism at the pool and at the pool bar and snack bar (Facebook Group). At the pool it is posted that bathing suits must be worn, but they seem to think that clothing is optional (CO) at this part of the resort. Perhaps management or Sunwing can clarify, and clearly post expectations with regards to nudism on the resort grounds for future guests. * POSITIVE - I loved my stay at Villa Caprice, and yes I would definitely return ?? ? ??

This hotel was fine,great beds changed only once a week,clean Bungalow style four per unit, Diamond Club had ocean view but far from things lots of walking. Clean washrooms lots of toilet paper. Very quiet Rock no beach had to take cab or mini train to the beaches 15 - 20 minutes away but sooo worth it FOOD I’d give it a 2 ran out of beer for the first 3 days then no cheese, yogurt,or any dairy all week no fresh eggs only pre mix in a jug… Food at a lacarte was the same food as at the buffet they had lobster for an extra $20 us BUT seriously have to do something about the food.

Unfortunately Sunwing cancelled our vacation to Cayo Largo. We were looking forward to returning to this resort. Instead Sunwing diverted the bookings to Cayo Coca and/or Cayo Cruz. We are very disappointed with the customer relations with Sunwing. Next time we will book with a carrier that keeps their customers interest in mind. Rating is from previous stay at this resort.

Weather and ocean were fabulous - the beach has eroded but plenty of sand and umbrellas to take in the sun and ocean breezes. On windy days when the ocean is choppy Playa Serena and Playa Paradiso are good options. The rooms are dated but clean - some buildings are under renovation. Even though we come prepared, the shortages were very noticeable this year; no cheese (so pizza snack bar was closed all week), some days no eggs, no ham, no vegetables, fruit, pop, beer, toilet paper, hot water…. We along with other guests got food poisoning from something we ate and it wasn’t fun - we resorted to bread and butter for a few days. Staff were friendly and accommodating and try their best despite all the limitations. Our butler Daviel was fabulous. The fuel in Cayo Largo was contaminated so we had to stop in Varadero to refuel on our way home. We’ve been to Cayo Largo many times and this by far was one of our worst experiences BUT we love the island and its special charm and I’m sure we’ll be back again and will pack more snacks and toilet paper just in case.

We were there for two weeks at the end of January the staff were amazing,but that it’s not enough to make this so called all inclusive resort worth the money. They were out of many things toilet paper, food, alcohol, wine. The rooms were dark kind of depressing. Coming up thru the plumbing was the smell of raw sewage, we had to keep the door closed all the time to keep the smell at bay. Occasionally the restaurant had the same smell! I spoke to the resort manager and he informed me they had no such problem. There is no common room to gather at, only the restaurant . There are many places in Cuba that are amazing, but if the government doesn't get there act together we will have to visit other islands.

The restaurant manager and restaurant host shook me, my gf and 70 YO father down for $75USD. After I disputed the charge I was forced to pay. They called police, immigration and forced me to sign a document under distress. 2 sunwing reps did nothing to help. They came to my room at 11:45pm when I was sleeping to scare and intimidate me further. The absolute worst! The two hotel staff and two sunwing staff should be fired immediately. They probably do this to ppl all the time. I’ve been to over 10 different island nations, been to Cuba 10 plus times and I would never believed what happened to us in a million years. This was my second visit to the resort, I will never return. I will never go to Cuba ever again! I have never left a review before but wanted to let everyone know what happened! So scary. Such a bad experiance. Other than the worst experiance of my life here are the other reasons why I wouldn’t return. 1. No toilet paper, anywhere!! 2. No beach, it was washed out 3. Ran out of beer 4. Ran out of wine 5. There was no toilet paper!! Wtf Oh and I got shook down and got the police and immigration called on myself, gf, and 70YO father!! Crazy!! Go anywhere but this place!! It’s the worst!!

If you are looking for a variety of drinks and food this is not the place. Shortage of many items starting with the first day with no toilet paper available. Resort is old and tired and in need of many renovations. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to accommodate the guest the best they can with what is available to them. Sunwing and Blue Diamond should be ashamed of themselves that they are not living up to the contract they have with the island of Cayo Largo.

The resort itself was very nice. It was clean and well maintained. Not too big and not too busy either. The rooms were spacious and clean. The beach was beautiful especially on the calm days. The water was the most beautiful color of blue and the sand was soft powdery white. The food was basic, which we were prepared for, but also good. We were always able to find something and never went hungry. The staff really take this resort to the next level. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and they all went above and beyond. I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere with such amazing staff. We would definitely return.

This was my 5th time since January 2023. I’m already looking forward to returning in the next month or so. The grounds are very clean. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a good variety of food choices. The weather was wonderful. The pool is beautiful and the beaches are breathtaking. I highly recommend this resort. It’s the perfect place to relax and soak in the rays.

Accomodation found old but fairly clean, people are very friendly, Sunwing both fly delayed, food is terrible and dangerous as it was served for lunch at dead cold temperature, no resort beach at all, washed out.

This was my 7th trip to Cayo Largo since 1988 and the 3rd one to this property. The rooms are an oasis; large cedar cabins with genuine King beds, a sitting area and massive bathroom with two shower heads, and an additional shower on the back porch for cleaning off the sand. We bring camping hammocks to string up on the generous wrap-around deck where we sway while reading and enjoying the beautiful weather. The food was very good for Cuba. This year there was evidence of shortages of some items, such as fruit, butter, mint and white wine. We couldn't order a la carte at dinner this year, and the selection of appetizers was quite limited. We weren't served or offered lobster at all. We only saw ice cream once in two weeks. However, the cappuccino was divine, and there was always something good to eat. They made us a special anniversary dinner, as we got married 9 years ago (in Cuba!) on January 7th. The people were amazing, as usual, and the scuba diving was worth lugging all that gear down. The dive team is truly exceptional and they did everything they could to accommodate my recent knee replacement including helping me get my buoyancy compensator on in the water so I didn't have to try and stand up with my tank. We spent one day at Playa Sirena and one at Mal Tiempo, and both were wonderful. It's too bad there is no real beach at this resort, but that's the case everywhere at Cayo Largo since hurricane Michelle. The new "sandy area" is nice, but not worth it for me. The little beach near Caprice is a little better, but we didn't bother with that either this year. We did the Super Reef excursion and although it was a bit windy that day, it was a fun day and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was a great trip and I'm sure we'll be back.

Animation staff: very welcoming, talented, (especially the dancers) and everyone seamlessly took on various roles. “Butler”: Wilber was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. It was nice to have someone assigned to us. Resort: Just the right size, lovely room on first floor with patio looking out towards the ocean, handy to everything. Good cleaning staff. Beach: the ocean brought in lots of beautiful beach the first week and swept it away again the second week. Big waves were great to watch and there is lots of sand on the ridge above the shore. Nice to have Playa Serina “train” and taxi van options. Nice pool to swim in on red flag days even a working jacuzzi. Excellent bar tenders especially at the lobby bar. Excellent wait staff. Fantastic band. Each member very, very talented. More than adequate buffets plus pizza bar and bbq sometimes. Helpful folks on the beach to bring chairs and plant umbrellas. A power outage presented a challenge but food was made available as soon as the power came back on. We stayed 2 weeks this year and look forward to coming back again. Only problem was a two hour wait for our luggage to be brought into the airport after we landed in Ottawa. Also it would be nice to have a shorter wait at the airport prior to departure. Processing everyone didn’t take very long. The seats on the flight home were worn out to the point of being very uncomfortable even for a relatively short flight. This needs to be addressed. All and all, a lovely, sunny, relaxing vacation in January when snow and freezing rain were happening at home.

Villas Linda Mar probably the best location/accomodation on the island: few steps to the beach of Caribbean Sea, almost all bungalows with that view, salt water pool + performance stage + dinning/mochito bar in the center of it. Very peaceful, clean place, friendly Cubanos, everyday various activity run by Oscar, any problems resolved immediately ( exception - shortage of dinner wine at some point). Realizing difficulties Cubanos face every day (politics base) - my kudos to theme for fascinating time I had!

We arrived in Cayo Largo on December 30th, 2023, around noon, from Ottawa. We were greeted by our Sunwing representative, Raul, as soon as we retrieved our baggage. The ride from the airport to the hotel is about 15 minutes, very short drive. Check in was done in an orderly and timely fashion. The size of the bungalows is unbelievably huge; bedroom/sitting room area is about 18x18, the shower alone is 8x8, plus the sink/toilet area, the hallway and closet, like I said, huge room! There are three spas on this resort but semi functional. If you are looking for a beach and ocean swimming, this is definitely not the place to go. Their beach has been washed away with many hurricanes and they have not bothered to build it again. If you take the ride by golf cart up to Linda del Mar, you can then walk a few kilometers along the beach and can find some nice spots to sit or swim. But the place to go is Sirenis beach!!! Just awesome. Shuttle buses bring you there, but it's a good half hour away from this resort but worth it. We cannot complain about the food, you will definitely not starve, especially with Candido as the chef! On our last night, he brought us dinner in our room which consisted of a nice seafood appetizer followed by lobster tails and fried potatoes if I am not mistaken, just delicious!! The only little hick was that butter was only available for breakfast for some odd reason LOL LOL Very clean resort, rooms, landscape, surroundings! Staff are all super nice, they really went out of their way to make you feel at ''home'' (Candido, Barbaro, Raul, Marie-Alice, Abby, Nancy, Adriana, Carlos, just to name a few)!! If you are looking for rest and relaxation, this is the place to go! This island is very small, therefore, no towns or places to visit. Very good 5-star resort!

SANCTUARY at Grand Memories, Cayo Largo, Cuba We travel often and have to say that we are extremely pleased with the quality of service, rooms, food and attention to detail the staff here have provided during our stay. This is a great place to unwind and relax!! I would not recommend this place to someone who likes to party or stay up late. I’m sure you can find that elsewhere on the island. As we arrived at the airport, it was very evident that is was well organized; we went through customs and on the shuttle bus in about 30 minutes from arriving in Cayo Largo. We boarded the shuttle bus which was very well organized and arrived at Sanctuary at Grand Memories under ten minutes from the airport. Upon arriving at Sanctuary at Grand Memories, the staff greeted us with smiles, a drink and a very quick check-in. The rooms (cabin to yourself) are very large with comfortable beds and furniture to sit outside (or inside when the weather isn’t as nice / bugs are too bad). There is a safe with swipe card access which is the same as the door to the room. The room (28) was very well taken care of, clean and stocked with water daily. This room is a great location if you want to be at the quietest end of the resort (away from the pool, music and restaurant). The walk to all the main amenities at Sanctuary are not far at all. Although, this would be the furthest point from Grand Memories, next door which (when open in February/ March) will provide other options for restaurants, pools and bars. Grand Memories was not open to guest while we were staying there for New Years, but the theatre was used for wonderful shows, a dinner and still have access to the gym facility (NOTE: please bring a towel to the gym). At night you can hear the sound of the waves crashing up against the shore from the room. The restaurant at Sanctuary provides good enough selection of fish, chicken or beef with most of their meals. It is buffet style with excellent service! The food was good and excellent for New Years Eve! Thank you very much to all the staff who prepared an excellent dinner and entertainment for the evening and for the week! The staff work very long days. As visitors to their country, please respect them and leave good tips! We even left clothing, hygiene and other items that are not simply monetary. I must commend Dianelys Suarez Sotolongo (Buttler) as she even helped me out to plan a special dinner for my partner’s birthday. We celebrated with an amazing dinner at a separate table from the rest so we could enjoy our evening together. Along the week, she often would check in with us to see how our stay was, and if she could do anything else to make it more enjoyable. The service she provided for us was very much appreciated to make the most out of our stay! Thank you for going the extra mile! Caution to beach enthusiasts, there is not really a beach at Sanctuary. There are however, shuttles that would take you to neighbouring resorts to enjoy their beach or to other beaches around the island. That being said, we climbed down the choral / rock drop and found some really nice spots to swim right in front of the Sanctuary hotel (under 2-5 minute walk away). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would certainly stay here again in the future! Thank you very much for making us feel like family while staying at Sanctuary Grand Memories.

Starfish is a nice, small and accessible resort. The pool is fine, the beach is great. You have choices for snacks like a pizza place, pool bar open all the time, the buffet, another reservation restaurant and the beach restaurant. And it’s in Cayo Largo! Gorgeous water, beaches, tiny relaxed island where nobody really lives. All workers live in Isla de la Juventud or Havana with 20 day shifts. They work night and day and the tourists who return over and over go for the beach but mostly for the relationships they have created with Cuban staff members. I saw lots of hugs and people bringing in necessary items. Cubans do not have access to so many things. Yunet was my mayordomo, butler which every one is associated with and they get you whatever you need. She goes above and beyond and I would say most staff I met are friendly. The reality in Cuba now is food shortages. All over Cuba and especially in CL as everything is brought in by boat and barge. If the water is rough, the stuff does not come in. Things don’t often gets fixed; food runs out; food is rationed to make sure there’s enough throughout the week. We had butter a couple of days, sometimes no bread, no fresh fruit except watermelon for 2 days and apples on New years eve. The food was mediocre most of the time, no fresh veggies at all and it’s repetitive. Good fish and chicken. It was ok but I recommend bringing a few snacks and maybe some hot sauce. There was no mayo, sauces… I didn’t find the evening restaurant really worth it. Same food as the buffet. Wifi is very good in most parts of the resort, even at the beach. I would return as it’s like returning to the cottage. I had an ocean front room which was so lovely. So… enjoy Starfish with all the complexities of being a cuban resort during this time period.

Not what I expected from a Memories resort in Cayo Largo during the Xmas break with my family. We had met quite of few people who were returning to the resort as I think it was much better in past years. The shows next to the main bar were great and the bar staff were awesome. The beaches in Cuba are amazing but this one was very small and had to use the beach next to us at Starfish resort. There seems to be a food shortage as well, no fruit or vegetables and not much change to the selection from day to day at the buffet. Breakfast was decent as soon as something was out like Pineapple on the rare day it was gone in an hour. Our Oceanview room had a nice view but the room itself needed lots of attention, older with very little upkeep. What made the trip was the staff and the people we had met. The airport was less than 10 min away which was really good and the Turtle Sanctuary at the Marina was also nice to visit. Jenn Black at Trip Central was amazing to deal with and was very helpful with the booking.

The resort is very clean. The restaurants and buffets have a very good variety of meals and the food is delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, always smiling. The rooms are very clean and the beds are comfortable. There is free wifi throughout the resort, even on the beach. The beach is breathtaking, white sand and turquoise water. I look forward to going back soon.

This was my first time at Memories Cayo Largo but for sure not the last one. The resort is Beautiful and the service was very good. Special thanks for excellent service from Diamond Club employee for Melissa and Yagmara, any question and request was done write away. Carlos from the restaurant was like a brother to me, very friendly and the service from him was excellent. I relay recommended this resort. The room was clean and the food was very good. We have twice Lobster and a lot of see food. We have very good time from Nov17 to Nov24. Thank you all of you for everything. Slawek and Danuta.

We have been to CUBA many times, so we generally know what to expect, but VillaLindaMar is truly a cut above the rest. Excellent food (yes, really!) - incredible staff and service at every corner, attention to detail, privacy, nature, incredible sunrises and sunsets … plus both a beautiful beach and some great snorkelling right at the East end of the resort - we saw rays and zebra fish and starfish and many other beautiful tropical species. We were able to truly unwind and relax here. If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable getaway we would highly recommend Villa Linda Mar. take the free shuttle to Playa Sirena at least one day (it’s beautiful, and includes lunch!) We are not partiers, so this was the perfect place for us - not too much loud music around the pool, no late entertainment, just so wonderfully chill! (If you want to dance or have a party night, there’s a disco/bar at the marina in town - and taxis were about $2/person per trip)

Hotel is renovated so it is in great shape. Restorant has Ac. Nudist beach is great. Food is ok if you are not picky. Staff is great. They have big kindergarden, and kids pool too. It is wheelchair accessible. Playa Sirena is super, but after 3.pm sand bugs start to bite. Transport is free, or taxi 2.dollars each way pp

That was a new great experience I've never had in Cuba before. The hotel is small, this week there were only 15 guests (including me), as a result the service was incredible. For example, sometimes I was the one in the restaurant with four waiters around and their service was very nice and quick. Sometimes I was the only person in the pool or on the beach, so for the people who enjoys quiet time it's a paradise. By topics: Beaches: There are 4 options of going to the beach: 1. There is a hotel beach in 50 meters from the hotel with a small beach bar, but with no access to the ocean, 2. There is a small beach in ~1 km (~3-5 minutes on the golf cart) from the hotel with some access to the ocean, but waves can be high there, 3. The best option is to use shuttles to Playa Sirena which is very-very beautiful beach. Those shuttles go twice a day. 4. There are beaches in other hotels within 6 minutes on a bus/van and can be used as well. Service: everything was great, all equipment worked, the entertainer brought a lot of fun to our stay. Food: the choice of food in the restaurant is a bit limited comparing with other hotels, but it has everything you need. There is also a possibility to go to any other hotel around and eat there. This hotel is the only one the island that provides this privilege. Rooms are the separate bungalows and they are clean and spacious. The safe is provided. Location is good as the hotel is located in the nice and quiet area with only 5 minutes from the airport. The only thing is there is no quick access to the ocean. It worth to note there are tons of mosquitos there in the evening. But, those mosquitos are part of any other resort in Cuba. Overall, staying in the hotel was enjoyable and I would definitely recommend to visit it.

Just got back from 2 weeks. Oceanview room was great. Lots of water and pressure. Resort ran out of wine and beer more than half of stay. No vegetables. Butter for four days. A lot of variety of food was missing. Pool was filthy and dangerous with broken and missing side panels covering overflow. Not much beach because of high tide. Thank goodness weather was perfect and staff was as well. a train ride to nicer beach was rough. Strongly recommend to take a taxi

Room was good,new king size bed,clean a d chamber maid was great. Worse part of trip was no beer,red and white wine Last 2 full days of our vacation. Not all guest drink rum drinks. So we paid to take taxi to marina to get purchase wine and beer. Understand shortages, but blue diamond plus Sunwing need to really try to prevent this to occur. Food was sparse. Overall we love Starfish Resort, cayo largo and will return.

The hotel is a bit dated, but it is clean and small enough to be able to access the beach or pool which ever you choose. We had 3 days on the beach which is the best part of this resort, the ocean was clear blue and warm enough to just walk in a float around for hours. The selection of food was lacking but we didn't go hungry and the service was excellent both at the restaurants and bars. We have been to this resort many times over the years mainly because of the staff, the resort size and how easy it is to get to the resort not to mention the price. We will return.

We have found a new spot to love in Cuba! Our last visit to Cayo Largo was 2018 and so much has changed in Cuba since we were curious how it would be now. This was our first time to the Memories and we were very satisfied. The hotel overall was very nice. Our room was in block one, overlooking the pool and close to everything. It was clean, no musty smell and super comfy bed. It was next to the theater and there was music, etc most nights till 11, so if you want early nights I would ask for a quiet area. The grounds were well kept and it was easy to get around. The restaurants a good and tasty variety,our favorite was the Ranchon on the beach. The bars were well stocked. One area that does need work is the pool, especially the grates on the overflow. If you were not paying attention they could be dangerous. We enjoyed the possibility of going for the day to Playa Sirena and the lunch buffet and service was excellent. The main reason for us returning to Cuba is the people and Memories did not disappoint. Every member of the staff was welcoming and kind.We had a marvelous week and will definitely return. Thanks again to Jenn Black for taking g care of the booking once again.😊👍

This hotel was recommended to us. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to our expectations. This was my husband and my first trip since 2018 and we brought our daughter for her birthday. We requested ocean view rooms which we got but upon entry to the room was awful. The air conditioning wasn’t on, no bottled water, no toilet paper and no shower curtain, dirty floors and balcony doors wouldn’t close properly. We immediately went to the front desk , spoke to our butler Elisa and Daniel the general manager. They were very helpful and changed our rooms which was a great improvement. The food was very repetitive and not plentiful. The 24 hour snack bar had no snacks. On a good day you might get a burger or ham sandwich. The salt water pool was very large but full of algae. The tiles on the ground around the pool so chipped and not level. There were no lights at night outside your hotel room door. The store on the property very low inventory but mostly rum. Couldn’t even buy sunglasses. The nightly entertainment was pretty much non existent. However Lazarita was very lovely. They seemed to be very skimpy handing out water bottles at the bars. There is a turtle sanctuary in town which is cool and also they brought baby turtles to our beach. We got to do a turtle release in the ocean. The hotel needs a lot of work and repair. The ocean was beautiful but the beach very small, lots of rocks and stairs very unsafe. My husband was upset they ran out of Cristal beer. The only thing he drinks. My daughter and I did discover Spanish Coffee which we loved! For the first time in my life ever travelling anywhere including other parts of Cuba had I ever gotten eaten alive by sand fleas. So so bad!

This little resort adjacent to the Marina and village offers a home quality stay. Indeed improvements to restaurant menus, entertainment options, taxi services all need to keep getting better, to ensure patrons have island mobility. Having the a la carte options to book at other hotels or the adjacent tavern is spectacular. Also to ensure that there are some "safe" water sports offered and supervised...respectful of marine wildlife. There is no reason that patrons should feel limited. Scooters should be hubbed and available for rent at this area too. Music needs to be played during the day. An additional outdoor coffee/bar/ snack area should be available until midnight. Games, billiards, etc. need to be more available, especially if children were present.

My days at Villa Caprice gave me the feelings of tranquility. View from balcony breathtaking specially at sunrise. General Manager and staff were remarkable. Beautiful Island, turquoise sea and I could stay forever. Thank you.

The resort was amazing ...great staff and room was very nice an clean everyday...the food was good an fresh everyday an different items to choose from on the buffet...the setting of the dining was very relaxing an atmosphere was great...

Ok this is a small but large resort. The staff is the best. They look after you whatever you needed. The grounds are manicured and the public areas e.g.: washroom so clean. The rooms are so well taken care of you have nothing to worry about. The staff in the dining room and the cooks do the best can even when they run out of food. e.g. chicken, beef. Outside could use ceiling fans, the bartender was dripping in sweat. I did talk to their so call management and wasn't impressed. The lunch bar (Rancho) what a view. If the ocean is too rough, there is outdoor shower to cool off. So, I have been there twice and more than likely will go again. If you go do not tip with our Loonie and tunnies bring down American paper one-dollar bills, their bank can't deal with them. So go to this resort and have a great time.

we have wonderful time for our vacation and will come again .Weather was good sunshine water was rugh bu we went to Playa Sirena beach. covid was not problem nobody talking about it neither wearing musk like we in Torontoroom was very clean and changing linen every day in our resort food was some days good some not , but was O kay

Resort The resort is small, so walking from one place to another is easy. Our room was tiny, as in there was just enough space for a queen size bed and two small night tables. The staff were very accommodating however. Food We never go to Cuba expecting great food. That is simply just not part of the experience. However, on this visit the food was God awful and for the most part inedible. We were warned before hand that there were food shortages on the island, but we did not believe it was as bad as we were told. It was worse. For the first few days we simply ordered hamburgers (not so sure of the composition) from one of the snack bars. After three days we were told that they had run out of these, leaving us with nothing more than grilled cheese sandwiches. There was only one meal at the sole a la carte restaurant available during our stay. Pool When we arrived, the pool looked like a swamp. There was algae on the walls and the floor of the pool. On our third day the pool was closed due to bacteria. The next day the pool was shocked with what smelled like chlorine. That smell was pervasive for remainder of our trip. Since we wanted to keep our skin, we did not go in. Not having the use of the pool at a resort on a vacation is unforgiveable and a fundamental breach of contract with the vacation provider. Beach The beach was shorter than expected and the shore had more of a slope than we were used to. Some days had an accumulation of seaweed that was not cleared away. All of this is to say that Sunwing should be ashamed of itself for marketing a vacation package that they could not deliver upon. We love Cuba and have lost count of the number of times we have gone there for our vacations. We will certainly think twice about this in the future.

Amazing vacation. Staff went out of their way to make it special and it was. Only downside were the mosquitoes. They did spray several times. Can't escape nature. Just general info: you pay for everything with credit card but wifi not always reliable. Cuban currency not wanted. Not even at the airport.

Returned from the Starfish on May 13th 2023. This resort is not for everyone. This was our second visit and we went because the weather at home was not great and the price was right (650 cad per person). PROS. the weather was great..nice pool. Quiet because there is only about 20% capacity. Playa Sirena is still amazing. CONS The beach at the hotel is minimal having eroded away and this time there was lots of seaweed. The hotel (and I assume the island) is suffering from shortages of everything so the food was not good (we don't expect a lot in cuba for 650.. but it was Not good). They run out of wine and liquor. The staff did not seem nearly as friendly as they did on our last trip in January. We were ready to come after about 5 days. It is a unique environment and if you are prepared for a Gilligans Island experience..Go for it.

Second time at this wonderful resort. Still a very special place with the greatest and proud workers I've ever met and makes me ashamed by what we as privileged Canadians take for granted, especially after our government workers strike and settlement. Greed is a word that these special workers know nothing about. Very hard workers at all levels trying their best at all times to do whatever they can to make your vacation work for you. Tips are greatly appreciated but are not demanded as at many other resorts. Had a real blast with renting an ATV for 2 days. Think of travelling on the same island as past pirates and explorers and how fortunate in this day and age doing it on an ATV. A very special thanks to Monica for arranging the rental, with Maykel and Juan Carlos helping out and taking care of all our needs. Also thank Harold, our young butler (a nice extra) for his help and knowledge making thing easy during our stay. Thanks to Reynaldo at the buffet for taking care of our needs when dining. Never can claim starvation at this resort as there was a wide variety of food at all sittings although if you want steaks you might as well stay home. Remember that for the price and benefits, this resort can even surpass 5 star resorts in other countries for what it has to offer. We go especially for the people, beaches and weather and these can't all be met by most resorts. Thanks to Roger and his crew for arranging the special dinner for return clients. Much appreciated. Also a thank you to the Lobby Bar servers for their prompt and friendly service. We thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment of enthusiastic dancers, band and singers and with Larisa as MC under difficult circumstances. Thanks to Larisa for leading the children's entertainment segment and how she communicates and gets the children involved. Can only imagine the dynamics involved once their theatre area is completed. At home, still enjoy watching and listening to the music and dance routines we recorded. One note on security. I lost my key and had it replaced at the lobby without difficulty. The next day upon entering our room, the key was on the desk by the TV. Olivia (our maid) had found it between the double beds in our room. She could have easily kept it and taken whatever she wanted but showed how honest these workers do their job something other resorts have a hard time dealing with. A special thanks to the hard working gardeners doing their job in the heat, etc. beautifying the landscape of the resort always greeting with a smile and an "hola" and willing to share their tips and knowledge. Also met an Italian couple at the beach and without knowing each others languages, maintained a conversation for more than half an hour with similar work experiences, etc. A big thanks to Cornelio and Rene for their help in baggage handling and Cornelio's fishing prowess. A plus on their driving skills around the resort. Lastly, a special thanks for Alfredo and the Starfish lobby crew including the lobby bar servers for their diligence and professionalism in making our stay special and memorable. Would recommend this resort to anyone willing to learn the people, culture and enjoy the ambiance of the resort. Don't be shy and use whatever means to communicate with the employees as well as with clients. You'll find a thrilling and memorable vacation as never before. Will no doubt return as this resort and its employees have become a part of our family and wish all of them the best.

This resort is totally about service. The cabins are large and well appointed. The food has variety but being Cuba it is limited, yet done to 5star stds. The draw back is no brach access directly at the resort....the walkways were ravaged in the hurricane and still bring worked on, but they have no issues getting you rides to and from the neighboring beaches so all is good. The pool is well maintained and being smaller a nice warm pool. The entertainment is quality and during the day the entertainment staff keep it low key and endure all there have a chance to be involved. At present it's parent resort Grand Memories is undergoing repatriation( repair) so if you desire other amenities your given rides to Memories or Starfish resorts. All in all the customer is king or queen. Worth every dam cent!

Basic, but nice resort, stunning beaches. The beach at the resort does not have enough umbrellas though. Friendly nice people and amazing staff, especially Yordan -the snack bar chef, Marcus from the animators, Ivo - the beach bar, Ivan and Dunya from the snack bar. No complaints from the food at all.

This is our 10th time to Cuba. We've been to Cayo Coco and Varadero but first time in Cayo Largo. If you love nature, please go. You will not regret it. Take the catamaran sunset tour, turtle sanctuary, and go open minded. In Cuba, there is hardly processed food so don't expect cereals for breakfast, or Nutella or catchup etc. The food is simple but very tasty. You will not lose weight. I could never get my calculations straight that you can go for $1,000 to Cuba for a week, more than half is a airplain ticket and taxes, and there is so little left for Cubans to feed us all week, clean after us and all that with the smile. We've traveled the world but Cuba is the most convenience and the most relaxing place to go (if you live in Canada). To rent a cottage in Canada would cost me more, never mind traffic problems to get to any cottage country place. So stressful. Cuba is my go to place to get my vitamin D, relax, and physically and mentally recover for busy Toronto life. We loved Cayo Largo. There is even beach for nudists (if you practice). Room was very clean with bottle of 1.5 L water every day, two rolls of toilet paper, shampoo, shower gell, soap, ground area clean, swimming pool with salt water (loved it), food was amazing (they have every day roast pork, chicken, fish, burgers, sweet potatos, carrots, beets salad, eggs, guava, mango, watermelon with seeds (yes with seeds, all natural)... Please don't ask for strawberries, cranberry juice, blueberries etc. And take the bumpy ride to Paradise and Sirena beach. At Sirena they serve free food and drinks like wine and beer. Yes, sometimes people who live on an island would run out of things, so please don't be mad if one day they don't have red wine but they offer you champaign or rose instead. Who cares? Do you really drink that much at home every day anyways? Do you get mad at your friends if they don't have your favourite drink when you visit them? No. BYOB if you cannot live for a week without it. Love you all! Great to see you are considering Cuba. :)

We stayed in block 49 April 14-21. Our view was amazing the butler was the best.it was our anniversary and he se our room up with flowers, some decorations and champagne . The food at the resort was delicious all the staff were great to deal with. The pool was gorgeous everyday.

The hotel was beautiful. The grounds are very well kept. Our butler, Ernesto was amazing. He is definitely an asset to this hotel. He even phoned our room when he knew we were a little under the weather. He also arranged all of our a-la-carts and anything else we needed! Luis Miguel in the dining room made the best omlettes and always with a smile!

Been here several times. Ã’verall good. Maybe need a bench by the showers when you come from the beach.you can then sit and dry off.Many workers have been there several years. Good to see after covid.

We are not the kind of people who return to a place twice. However, this place will hold a special place in us. The wonderful beaches, gracious staff and peaceful setting of the resort was everything one wants when thinking of a retreat in paradise. Thank you to the entire staff at Lindamar. See you again.

The staff of all ages worked diligently every day for long hours and provided excellent service to their guests. They are to be commended for their dedication and most of all for their patience in dealing with many demands and requests from their guests.

We just came from the Starfish Hotel with Sunwing airline from Ottawa. We stayed for one week where everything was good: service, hotel except no cheese and no papaya and no white wine :( Walk from Starfish to Sirena beach was amazing!

Clean and well organized. Diamond Club is a plus! Everything as good or better than in the past - except for the lack of a beach. Shout out to Ivo, Miguel, Yosbel, Celia and Kirenia for outstanding service!

Lobby and reception /great, my room and housekeeping /great, buffet- food was great, salt water pool/great, except pool concrete walk surface is very poor, activity troupe /great, Best feature was the staff-helpful, kind and considerate. I would go back.

Villa Lindamar is a very private and enjoyable hotel with friendly staff and great chefs. The food was great and the variety of fruits every day was delicious. They offer 2 a la carte dinners per week and the restaurant by the beach is spectacular. Mike and Yuri and the most amazing waitress in that restaurant, and the food is very delicious. The Front desk and entertainment staff like Russo and Carlitos are lots of fun to be with. The hotel butlers are especially accommodating and helpful as well. The rooms are very comfortable and private. I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great getaway!!! Villeda's Family.

IT MET ALL OF OUR NEEDS AND MORE. THE POOLS WERE VERY LARGE WITH THE BAR CONVENIENTLY LOCATED BESIDE IT. OUR ROOM WAS ON THE LOWER LEVEL AND FACED THE BEACH SO WE COULD HEAR THE WAVES ROLLING IN. IT WAS CLEAN THROUGHOUT THE RESORT AND THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. THE ADDITION OF A PERSONAL BUTLER SIMPLIFIED THINGS FOR US. GREAT WEATHER WAS THE ICING ON THE CAKE

As Grand Memories itself was not ready for our stay were transfered to the Sanctuary section. This is an amazing area. The bungalows were kept clean, the grounds were kept neat and clean. The exceptional staff! Transporting by taxi to the beaches or marina area was not helpful or readily available. The 3 hour wait in line during the check in was not at any way acceptable. The flights each way were both amazingly smooth. The staff on the resort and the food was of great quality. Airport staff needs help for check in process.

What I like the most about the hotel and resort was the service and entertainment that everyone gave us. I wanted to thank everyone for their services they where a great team. I miss everyone I have met and enjoy their company .I can’t wait to come back an enjoy another few weeks with everyone again and I hope it will be the same people we met .

I would like to share my amazing vacation experience after staying at the Cayo Largo Memories resort. I was travelling alone, but honestly, I was not feeling this way because, at the resort, you are immersed in a family-like and super friendly atmosphere. The animation team is amazing: dynamic, positive, and energetic! At the snack bar, tourists can get a daily bachata and salsa experience. Marcos Antonio Mendoza Martinez, who is a part of the animation team, is an awesome person and dancer and will offer you a hand while teaching you the steps of the dance. It would be great if, in addition to the public dancing, there could be private lessons for tourists who are interested in sharpening their dance experience for a reasonable price. I am pretty sure there will be a line of bachata and salsa funs for it!!! ALL - resort, clients and the animation group members would get some benefits from this service. I would like to have a chance to say "hi" to all the amazing staff at the hotel—"you are the best!" I forgot to mention outstanding 3 beaches: at Memories, Sirena and Paradise ! It was an unforgettable experience! coming back for sure!

Wonderful time, the staff is lovely. They take Canadian coins for tips. The sea was beautiful at the hotel for the 2 days but mostly rough- then everybody took a taxi to Sirena, the train ride there is a bit bumpy. Nothing special about COVID protocol, nobody thinks about it. The ocean view room was the best I had in Cuba- no musty smell at all. Those rooms seem to be renovated. The best cleaning lady I ever had. It is my 18 th time to Cuba, second to Cayo Largo. They ask a proof of vaccinations at the airport, but not at every flight. Food is Ok, I missed cottage cheese and ice cream.

Maria and I were pleasantly surprised. Our room was great, the bed was comfy, lots of hot water in our nice bathroom. The food was good plus all the staff were very helpful. George runs a tight ship and do not forget to ask for a mega Dunya coffee. Oh yes let’s not forget the beautiful beaches, and the train ride. Thank you.

I was happy to see the resort and grounds just as beautiful as I remember when it was the Sol.. Of course the big setback now is the beach in front of Memories Cayo Largo has been washed up over the years , which is no fault of the resort. It was still beautiful , just not as much of it , and can no longer walk the beach from resort to Paraiso and Sirenis…. The hotel provides shuttle trains to these beaches and also provides buffet lunch which was very good! The ocean in front of resort can be quite rough.. 5 of the 7 days was red flagged.. The lifeguards were always there and attentive. Still very much a stunning location to enjoy Mother Nature at her finest. Wonderful Ranchero restaurant overlooking beach which had great house band play during lunch. The buffets were quite good considering the food shortages in Cuba right now. Always choice of fish, chicken,pork, beef and assorted vegetables. Pasta bar and pizza bar quite busy for dinner.. which is a good sign. The snack bar by the pool had the best Spanish coffees and Pina Coladas, as well as good sandwiches and burgers . My room was fine. Hot water, A/C TV all worked fine, and had a lovely balcony . Very friendly staff..everyone employee I encountered was so cheerful and helpful . One negative thing I can say is that there were flies all over the buffet tables and the food was basically uncovered for the duration of meal times.. Perhaps food should be covered up and have an employee serve the food to the guests..?. I remember Memories Caribe did this during Covid precautions .. As far as Covid precautions went..can’t say there were any .. business as usual ..very few masks were seen and no social distancing .. This was not an issue for me at all .. In general, the resort was very clean.. always tp in the bathrooms and beautiful flowers everywhere.. I really enjoyed the saltwater pool… and I’m not a pool person . Very nice vibe and various activities going on in the afternoon. I enjoyed my stay very much . Wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the surroundings. I feel my trip was very good value.

We stayed at this resort for a week...and the beaches and water are stunning...The beach at the hotel has been eroded but there is still plenty of room for your chair and umbrella...The beach guys were always helpful setting up...they do work hard. The hotel is not a 5 star but we found no issues at all with the room...it was basic but we were not there to spend time in the room...Gardens were well maintained and always a smile from everyone who worked doing this... The hotel staff was AMAZING...we have been to more than a few islands and this resort was stellar for their staffing...everyone seemed happy and engaged in wanting to make our experience a good one..The food was OK nothing special but would be nice to have fries and ketchup..The pizza was terrific but could have used a bit of shade while eating there...Overall we would go back again...it is worth the trip...

I didn’t expect much from this trip at first, but it had to be one of my favourite trips. I needed rest and figured I’d take a last minute vacay. The staff was my fav part. The beach was a 10/10. The staff made my experience feel safe, I felt taken care of, they always were on-top of every inquiry made. I am def visiting again.

At first introduced with hospitality and kindness. Many staff members went out of their way to assist or answer questions. The guests had a great sense of humour. I will be back. Mike. Aka. Miguel

Wonderful service with great staff. Would go back tomorrow. Not impressed with Sunwing flight delays and cancellations. They could at least provided more information on website and saved us much hassle at the airport.
