What to do in Barcelona
The Sagrada Familia is the undisputed centrepiece of any Barcelona visit and is well worth booking in advance to avoid the queues. Nearby on Passeig de Gracia are two more Gaudi masterpieces, Casa Batllo and Casa Mila. The Gothic Quarter is the oldest part of the city, a dense maze of medieval lanes, Roman ruins, the Barcelona Cathedral and the Plaça Reial. The El Born neighbourhood just east of the Gothic Quarter has excellent restaurants, the Picasso Museum and a good selection of independent shops. Barceloneta beach is a short walk from the old city waterfront.
Where to stay in Barcelona
