We stayed at this resort in September 2025 for our honeymoon and over all it was a very pleasant stay. The staff is super friendly and the resort grounds were amazingly well kept. The food and restaurants were very good as well we only wish they were open more. The beach and pool are very beautiful as well..though we’d suggest some netting over pool bar roof raptors as there was lots of pigeon droppings hanging down above the bar. We stayed on the adults only side and while the family resort is attached we would suggest more security on not letting kids onto that side as we noticed serval on the adults side due to bad/lazy parenting. Over all though a very pleasant experience

The resort is very clean and well-maintained, which was great. However, the food was a bit repetitive, with little variety between days or even between lunch and dinner. We stayed for a week and only saw one show, so the entertainment could definitely be improved. Additionally, communication was a bit unclear at times. For example, one evening we didn’t have a reservation at any à la carte restaurants, only to find out that the buffet was closed that night. We managed to find another option, but there were several instances where information wasn’t communicated well. One major disappointment was that we requested earlier to be close to another couple we travelled with and discovered that the request was not accommodated. The resort was not even half full. When we asked if we could be placed closer to the couple we were traveling with, we were told it wasn’t possible. However, we were then informed that if we gave a $50 tip, they would accommodate our request and provide us with rooms close to each other with an ocean view. This left a very bad impression, and I was quite disappointed by the experience. For this reason, I don't know if I would come back. :(

Very clean resort, with modern rooms and technology in wrist bracelet to unlock room doors. Many excellent restaurants, along with coffee, ice cream pastries shop. Also many different pools along with lazy river, water slides, and of course nice clean beach areas.

The food in the buffet is mostly same every day and when you try to book a restaurant for dinner always unavailable, the price this resort charges are completely insane , I will not recommend anyone to this resort.

The rooms were bright, clean and perfect space Grounds were well kept, very very friendly staff....restaurants were fabulous!!! Would 100% come back.... Love the access to the Royalton side, nice size of resort as not too big or small

We had an amazing vacation at the Hideaway Blue Waters! The food, drinks, employees, amenities were all FANTASTIC! We will definitely be back. This resort is perfection! The employees are friendly and go above and beyond to take care of your needs to ensure the best experience.

This resort was the perfect place for our vacation. The resort itself is beautiful and was kept in pristine condition. The staff was amazing, accommodating and just wonderful people. The restaurants were all beautiful and had an exellent variety of food options. We will definitely be back!

We were so pleasantly surprised by this resort. From the moment we arrived until the time we left, the employees made sure to remember our names. The rooms, while small, were immaculate and up-to-date. The pools were clean and inviting as was the beach. The food was top notch! They went over and above to customize your orders if you wished to add or change something.

Food, service, live entertainment and accommodations were all amaizing! Was a great week. Only complaint is there were not enough lounge chairs and we could not watch NHL hockey games at the sports bar.

The resort was very nice, staff was friendly and helpful. Our first room was very tiny, but we were moved to a new room which was great, and spacious and had a wonderful view. Food in the restaurants we tried was amazing!

This resort is amazing. From the cleanliness of everything, to the yummy food, to the amazing staff. It has absolutely everything you could want. Best restaurant was the Mexican although they were all very good. The live music they have every night is wonderful.

Very clean, bartender Raymond was amazing making us feel special and makes amazing espresso martinis. Beach was beautiful and clean. Food was delicious at the buffet, so much variety to chose from. Tyrone Morgan from the Vibe Team also very social and hospitable. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would go back in a second.

This was our second time in Jamaica. First time at Hideaway Blue Waters! Resort is lovely, food is fantastic and the beach is amazing. There were a few things we had issues with but they didn't make or break our experience. The AC in our room didn't work well so it was very warm which was unfortunate. The closet door was broken and beat up and the door to the bathroom didn't actually shut. We obviously weren't happy about any of it but we didn't spend much time in the room. The rooms definitely need updates and TLC. A few other things we left on comment cards were that it's very hard to book resturants as it's all on an app and not user friendly, the pool shuts down at 5pm which was very odd at an adult only resort and the nightlife entertainment could use work! We still had a great time overall those are just a few things that we questioned!

The Hideaway at royalton blue waters is a great resort. The food was good and the beach spectacular. Wish there was more to do on resort like sailing or kayaking. Drinks and food were great. Entertainment was average but fun.

Rooms were not in great condition, were small and typical of luxury rooms. The resort grounds were well kept and clean. The food at the buffet was very good however the a la carte dinning experiences were disappointing. The food was served cold, lacked flavor and long wait times.

We spent a week here with a group of 10 from Feb 3-10. We were very impressed by how accommodating the staff was to larger groups. We were always able to be seated together for meals in the buffet, and able to book meals together at the specialty restaurants. The Zen restaurant was by far my fav! Great entertainment, and delicious food! We had no trouble finding beach/pool chairs even when we showed up later to the beach or pool. We loved the wait staff who brought drinks right to our seats & cannot say enough about the plethora of drink options. The only downfalls for me were the high winds & rough waters at the beach. However, it was not bad enough to detur me from enjoying the beach. We will definitely be back!

cant go wrong with the beach, the food is pretty good too , they do have a weird window where you cant really eat anything for an hour because all of the restaurants, lunches / buffets all open at once

Stayed in presidential diamond club suite. Beautiful clean room. Came with diamond club service. This was non existent. Other than having someone book your restaurants for you - there wasn't any other perks noted. it certainly is not what is advertised. So to answer your question is it worth the upgrade, my experience is that it is absolutely not. And yes I have booked diamond club in other countries/resorts. The beach is beautiful and grounds are gorgeous. The music the week we were there started at 10 am until 5 pm around the pool and then most days started up across from our particular room around 6pm for wedding or gathering that was hosted for a specific group at that time. Then after the evening shows the sports bar would play music until 2am. I love music, however after 6 days of listening to music very loudly for basically all day and night - with the base up much higher than the music itself (which I think was the worst part of it) it was way too much. The music I felt was much louder than all other places I have gone to. There needs to be down time for some of us and I could not escape it as where my room was located. I could even hear the base when in bed in the night from the sports bar, with all doors closed. So if you are looking for any relaxation and quite time - this is not the place to go. I found that the service was very poor. It was very difficult to get service at just about any of the bars - and not because they were busy, there were issues with service with just about anywhere on the resort. I also found there to be rudeness. Honestly I have travelled to many countries and the lack of interest to serve someone I had not experienced before. It may be just the people during my visit that I ran into, as others have commented on excellent service. I felt that they just didn't care or seem to even want to be there. Overall I would not recommend this resort, yes it is beautiful and the accommodations were lovely however because of the service and value I feel that for the price paid $6200, I would certainly try somewhere different. Again this was just my experience, I don't consider myself to have high expectations

The hotel was clean, bright and well maintained. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful. There are a lot of restaurants with a variety of food options. Service is quick and the food was tasty. Please note that rooms are very small and a double room contains 2 single beds—not double. This was unexpected for the price of the room.

Location was excellent, just 30 to 40 minutes away from the airport. Beach was very clean. It was cleaned off weeds ever so often. The beach has a gradual slope and shallow so safe to swim. The nightly entertainment was amazing with plenty of variety. There was an extensive spread of buffet Italian, Mexican, Caribbean, Asian stir fries etc. They could do better for vegetarians/vegans and Indian Cuisine other than beans, lentils, couscous and quinoa. The security within the facility is tight so felt very safe. The staff are very helpful and quick to respond to requests. Always service with a smile. Shout out to Siesha Addo and Bianca at reception and Fernando who went over and above their call of duty to help us. Housekeeping could do better to deliver on requests. Overall it was a great experience and would love to go back in the future.

I booked at white sands for $2200 per person and was sent to blue waters the day we arrived. Blue waters was great for what we paid but if I spent $3200 per person, it wouldn’t have been worth it. The service staff is great when they come to you, if you go to them ( the pool bar) the service was awful. You were legit bothering them, it was weird. An exception to this was the martini bar, I had great nights hanging out with Denroy and Radcliffe. The place is under Reno’s so maybe it’ll Improve but $3200 is best spent elsewhere. $2200 is worth it.

The grounds are beautiful, pools are amazing. You are directly on beach, which is great! The staff are extremely pleasant and accomodating. The buffet was mediocre at best, with a lot of repeat items. Hunters Steakhouse was our favourite a' la carte. It is not a luxury experience but extremely enjoyable.

This resort has been a complete disappointment 🙁 Shower door would not close Bath tub plug missing and water pressure so low I couldn’t run a bath. Sewage smell in the room at all times Patio door very hard to open/close Beach towels always out so spent most of the days without. Butler service doesn’t answer messages Waiter service disappointing, never cutlery or glasses for water, servers don’t check check on you. When tip is given, receive no thank you or smile. Always the first to say thank you or good morning. Toilets don’t flush proper, low pressure Toilet plugged all day without assistance

Pros: great service (Kesrene at the beach, Kelan at the Italian restaurant), beautiful weather, we had no troubles getting a chair at the beach or pool, the ocean was great for swimming, the food at the buffet was amazing, we had no troubles getting seated at the buffet, the late night entertainment was great, the resort grounds were clean and beautiful, housekeeping kept the rooms looking great Cons: need more umbrellas, AC didn't work in our room, the pool bar service was bad (they would look at you and walk away in favour of a larger group), our room was very small (we joked it was a broom closet that they turned into a room), the bathroom door didn't close, the shower leaked water everywhere, the bathroom had mold in a few places (no working fan/didn't work well), Overall: the pros outweigh the cons and I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat. I've heard through resort staff that the resort is getting gutted and renovated and I look forward to going back once it's completed. I paid 2500$ to fly out of Edmonton whereas my friends flying out of Ontario paid $2000. This resort is closer in value to $2000/trip.

First my experience booking with Tripcentral and Sunwing. I was not aware that Sunwing no longer allowed carry on baggage so right away this would have been a deal breaker for me. I had to pay additional fees to bring my carry on with me on the plane. Then there was a price drop and it was honored so this is strike #2. The service on the plane was terrible. Sunwing doesn't even offer a complimentary beverage anymore?. And there was no service the flight attendants stood behind the closed curtain at the front of the plane the entire time. Our flight was also 1 hour late leaving Toronto. Then we finally arrive in Montego Bay, first we waited for 2 hours on the bus at the Montego Airport before being transported to the hotel so right away this was not starting off on the right foot. Why am I waiting 2 hours? I didn't pay to be sitting on a bus. I paid to be at the hotel enjoying the hotel services. Now we finally get to the hotel and check in. It is dark and we are starving. This hotel rooms are a disgrace. The drawers are either stuck or don't open, the closet doors don't slide, there is no door handle for the sliding door to go out side. Our toilet didn't flush and we had to have maintenance fix it. Our room was only cleaned 1/2 of the time during the entire week and only got fresh towels half of the time. Our mini fridge and coffee was not replenished at all the entire week. I used some the first day and never had anymore the rest of the week. One day my husband got locked in the bathroom and couldn't get out. I'm pulling from the outside and he's pushing from the inside. Finally we got the door to open. We had no hot water for the first 2 days and no water pressure at all all week. I couldn't even wash the shampoo out of my hair since there was no pressure. When using the bathrooms around the resort there was never any toilet paper, soap or paper towels it was a nightmare and they were always dirty with water all over the floor wasn't sure it was water or pee. On our way back we ended up hiring a private car service to take us back to the airport for $70 since I was not getting back on the Sunwing bus. There was so many other things that were unsatisfactory but I could go on all day. A friend of mine didn't even get clean sheets. There was blood on her pillow case. You complain and no one cares. I will be posting bad reviews all over the internet and I will never return back to your hotel or another Royalton anywhere in the world. I will never book with Trip Central, Sunwing or go to this hotel again. I will be posting many reviews all over the internet on how horrible it was.

The hotel rooms were horrible. Ours had so many problems with broken items. Our balcony door was jammed on an angle and couldn't close or lock! The shows at night were so loud and went late, so we couldn't fall sleep because we couldn't close the door. Our shower hose leaked most of the water so there was not enough water pressure to use it. Our hair dryer was broken. Our fridge wouldn't get cold. Our safe gave us a lot of trouble. A quarter of our curtains were not attached at the top and just drooped down so the bright sun would shine in in the morning. The paint job in the room was terrible in so many spots. It looked horrible. I have photos but unfortunately they can't be posted here. Also, the room was the smallest hotel room I have ever had and it was quite a shock. Also, it was not Oceanview as the patio door is on an angle so that when you look out all you see is the patio. To see the ocean, you need to go onto the balcony and be in the far corner. The resort is closing permanently April 30th and they do not intend to spend anything on repairs or upgrades. This was not posted on Royalton's website nor did my travel agent know. They are building a new resort to replace in on the other side of Blue Waters which will open in 2025.

Royalton White Sands was beautiful, grounds were kept clean, people where very friendly and accommodating. Food was good Ocean was amazing, not very big it was very nice. You could walk quite a bit on the shore line. Water slides were fun only 2 open at a time not enough life guards. You will enjoy your stay. Very satisfied, will diffinetly return.

We initially booked for White Sands Resort, when we got to the room we were beyond disappointed. The room was in poor condition, but clean and very small (smallest hotel room we've ever been in). The view was the back of building, only one elevator was working. They gave us two twin beds (for a family of three) even though i requested a king bed. The safe did not work, sliding door was broken, this was a major safety concern with a toddler. We were so disappointed because we spent so much money, we expected a bit more - this was not worth it at all. Nevertheless, we upgraded to the Blue Waters Resort the very next day! Wow- this decision totally changed our vacation trajectory. The resorts were like night and day. The Blue Waters Resort was so much nicer, everything was better! The room was spacious and modern, the view was amazing (beach view) and the over all building facilities were so much better (newer building). We had some amazing staff that took pride in their work and made our stay very memorable! Shout out to TERRON, SHELLY ANN, TIANA and GEORGE - extremely professional, friendly and polite! They took pride in their work and cared about the guest experience!! THANK YOU guys for amazing consistent service!! Kids Club was a life saver! My daughter loved it, it had so many activities daily for the kiddos which allowed us to get a well needed break, loved it!!

Have been twice in 5 months. Second time around not as good. Resort was much busier this time which affected the service level. Also, couldn't get into the ZEN restaurant as it was booked solid by 7:35am every day. Otherwise the food is excellent. Drinks are sub par and definitely need more options unless you are only into slushy style sugar drinks. The staff overall are very friendly, but be prepared to not get your drinks till near the end of your meal at the buffet. I love this resort, but the service level needs a boost. But if you enjoy the ocean and beach, this is hard to beat!

Covid protocols are sanitizing when entering a restaurant and taking a temperature, wearing a mask to sit down in restaurant. The staff had masks on at all times, but many of the guests didn't when entering elevators or lobby. The staff are wonderful, they are all cheerful and will chat with you if you engage with them. Shout out to Patricia on the Beach who brought us drinks all week. The resort grounds are nice, we didn't use the pools but they are very attractive. Only 1 of the big waterslides was ever open in the week we were there, and they are not made for large adults (based on the flex in the tubing when an adult went down). If you don't like the smell of Marijuana don't go here - lots of people were taking advantage of the local product throughout the whole resort (balcony's, outdoor seating areas, beach). We found the food was very good, the Caribbean restaurant and the jerk hut were authentic and tasty. When we got to the resort it wasn't full and was easy to get in to the restaurants, but as the week progressed it filled up and became harder to get a table - the restaurants are shared with the Blue Waters Resort next door. Also two of the restaurants listed online were closed all week - Taj and Jade. Calypso and Armadillo alternated opening nights. Asked at the front desk which restaurants are open and they didn't know or told the wrong one - found out part way through the week that there was a desk in the lobby that had a list of openings - why isn't this posted on like the activity board? Now our room - it really needs a lot of work, beyond just the regular tiredness of dirty grout and dinginess. We paid for an Oceanview room, the ocean is only visible if you stand at one end of the balcony and look sideways. Otherwise you just see the balcony's across the courtyard. The room pictures featured by the supplier Sunwing show very little of the room since the room is fairly small. Our room had a King bed and a weird sofa, a desk with fridge and place to put suitcase and that is it. We had looked at the pictures on the Royalton site but they are all for the Diamond club rooms. If you get checked into a room with a connecting door demand another room - unless you like to be woken up when the neighbors come in or have sex. When we checked in the A/C didn't work, our safe needed resetting - these were fixed within 2 hours. The handset on the phone didn't work, but there was a speaker phone on the base unit. The hinges on the bathroom door are damaged, making it hard to open and close, with a horrendous noise. The closet doors are stiff to slide, unless you want try to open the drawers in the closet then they slide back at you. Our balcony sliding door didn't lock at all - the part on the door frame was totally destroyed, so you had to pay attention to make sure it was closed properly. We had asked to change rooms when things weren't working and were told no, even though rooms were available. We have travelled to many islands and stayed in a range of establishments from 1 star to 5 star and got what we expected from the rating. This resort is not a 4 1/2 star in our opinion but a 3 star or because of the restaurants a 3 1/2 star.

The beach, pool and water park were great. The food was ok but I have been at better resorts in Jamaica. The room was small for a family of four and the bath and sink didn’t drain . Check in for the Diamond club took forever so we didn’t get to meet our butler until day 4. Butlers did go above and beyond to try to accommodate our requests.

This hotel was a huge disappointment. We have been to Jamaica many times and this place does not live up to Jamaican standards. The food was low grade and tasteless not to mention I got food poisoning on the 4th day. The beach and pool area is nice but they don’t clean the pools properly. My daughter got pink eye and an ear infection from the kiddie pool. The Diamond club is a joke and really means nothing. Not worth the price at all. There are much better places to stay in Jamaica, don’t waste you money here.

Our holiday started off amazing with private check in and introduction to one of our two butlers Shawn then Ardley . I have never met two more respectful and professional gentlemen . Our rooms were clean and were kept clean everyday moving forward . We visited for my daughters birthday so both Ardley and Shawn ensured it was a special celebration . All our dinners were booked by the butlers and if we wanted certain lunches they were brought right to us wherever we were . The private diamond beach has comfy chairs but we mostly stayed entertained at the adult pool and were treated like queens by Vinessa , Marvin,Sean and Gabriel bringing us drinks and maxwell , Anthony and Romaine making excellent cocktails . Our friendly friend Tatianna at the towel centre made of day with her genuine friendly smile and stories . On our first morning we went to the Taj for breakfast and were looking so forward to ackee and salt fish but it was not available so we just went with something else but we were pleasantly brought our choice breakfast ackee by Karma , this started our holiday with such a warm welcoming jester . We went to all restaurants so our favourite was Calypso and least Italian . Our last night we received a special gift from Ardley with him singing and playing the guitar for us … such a beautiful ending . COVID protocols all in place with temperature checks and sanitizing of all prior to entering food areas , made us feel at ease . COVID test done without problems but had to search out our results just prior to boarding bus back to airport, this created a bit of stress which in end did not allow us to properly say our goodbyes to all that made our holidays so memorable and perfect . I am actually booked to go to different country first week of Jan but wanted to change and come right back to the Royalton white sands . I should of did change while still there when it was available because on my return I tried snd now hotel is fully booked . I have decided to wait till available to return until then I have cancel other trip . Want to return to bring some special gifts for so many amazing staff . Need to note never did we feel unsafe or annoyed for sakes or tipping . We did tip and it was so appreciated but never expected which was so refreshing . I have been coming to Jamaica for over 20 years and stayed in many resorts and I have to say this was the best one to date now !!! Good, drinks, staff , grounds and rooms exceptional . Entertainment team during day very happy and fun Thanks for the memories … we will be returning as soon as possible

I would like to start my review off by saying that it was great to be back on a plane visiting an island that is my home away from home. After 18 months of uncertainty around what travel was going to be like, PCR tests (I know only an Antigen test is required), anxiety around potential overcrowding at the airport and on the plane, it was great to land at the Norman Manley airport and see my lovely island again. I would also like to note that I have stayed at the Royalton White Sands and Blue Waters multiple times pre-covid/pre-2020. The team at Royalton was able to win me and my family over because of some amazing individuals on the team. I stayed at the hotel the week of September 19th. I was lucky enough to be able to work remotely on the most beautiful island in the world. The team running and working in the buffet and Calypso restaurant (servers, greeters, chefs) and the housekeeping team are AMAZING! Their customer service is exactly what I expected and recall of my times at the hotel. You could tell how passionate both teams were and dedicated to ensuring the best client experience possible. I am accustomed to travelling and dining alone, the team always made sure I did not feel alone or left out. The individual assigned to my room from the housekeeping team was kind, professional and should probably be training teams at other resorts. The front desk staff require training! Their attitudes demonstrate that they believe they are doing the guests a favor. You can tell that they have quickly forgotten that the entire island is still recovering from a pandemic and none of us are guaranteed the roles we currently hold now. To the bellman who secured transportation for me to the airport, when Sunwing decided to send a bus that could not hold everyone, thank you! I appreciate you and although some might say it is your responsibility, you did not have to be so kind and caring. To the bartenders and team, thank you for always being "on". It is not easy to have to be in a position to entertain people all the time, especially when they have had too many drinks. Overall, Royalton you have some work to do to get back to the way things were pre-pandemic. There are a number of hotels that have opened up in the same vicinity and people will go where their money is appreciated.

The resort is very clean and well maintained, but....White Sands accommodations are in very poor condition. The rooms are run down and in dire need of work. The decor is the same as 40 years ago!!!! If you go to this resort, spend the extra money and stay at Blue Waters. The rooms are bigger, the staff at the front desk are friendlier and accommodating.

Grounds are nice. Rooms average. Food is good. Pool area is large with 3 pools but Beach is small. Need more seating at pools. Large kids pool and play structures. Good entertainment most nights. EXCURSIONS expensive and most not worth the money. Very friendly staff.

Had a great time in Jamaica, awesome culture and weather. Pools and beach areas were great. Rooms a bit outdated at White Sands but good overall. Enjoyed excursion to Dunn’s River Falls - a must do! Food was great lots of selection but very busy and hard to get in at peak times for dinner. Zen was also a great experience. Wait staff and bartenders were great, check-in and customer service could have been better.

Just returned from a week at the Royalton White Sands, this is an in depth and honest review of the “5 star” hotel. 1. Rooms - the rooms are small - we paid for an ocean view and ended up looking at the water coolers and back of buffet, very noisy and we couldn’t use our balcony which my husband loved having a drink while I am getting ready for dinner. Half way through our vacation they moved us to an ocean view, much better although lived out of suitcases all week because it wasn’t worth unpacking for a few days. - we got our king bed, it was pretty comfortable, I think there may have been a comforter on it to make it soft (quite a few people got 2 singles pushed together) - there was a door to an adjoining room, it was a single door and you could hear people in the next room, at night you could see the light in that room so needless to say it was just like a door in your home, at 3:30 when our neighbours came back to room to party we couldn’t sleep. - the bathrooms were tiny, only 1 person could be in there, a large shower but ceiling and walls were in rough shape, they just painted over peeling walls to try and fix, my shower was quick and I tried not to look at the dirty looking corners. - they offer basic toiletries, better than nothing. - our A/C worked good, I heard others had problems. - frig was stocked with a couple beers, some pop and water. 2. Pool & Beach - 3 pools, 1 adult only with a swim-up bar, it was pretty cloudy and slimy on top, not sure if something was broken. The other 2 pools were very clean and clear. The pools are cool but always feels good when you get overheated. - people are up early reserving loungers, or we found they were tipping staff to reserve for them. Not enough loungers around the pools, and not enough shade, only a few umbrellas. - There were more loungers by the beach and more shade with the grass umbrellas. - Employees were raking the beach every morning to try and keep it clean. It was very windy the week we were there and one day a lot of seaweed came in and lingered in the shallow water, once past that it was sandy. - Towels were a free for all, you could take as many as you want at any time so as you can imagine by later in the afternoon there were no clean ones available. - Early in the morning before the LOUD music started you could hear the traffic a bit on the nearby road. - Their were always servers around the pool wanting to get you drinks. - The entertainment team had a few activities to keep people busy, I wish the music they always had around the pool wasn’t so loud all the time. 3. Food & Drinks - the drinks were sweet as in most resorts - no lemons or limes to be seen, just premade lemon syrup - alcohol was cheap, I could have upgraded to Diamond Club, just for drinks it was going to be $30 US/person/day, and we are Canadian so add another 33 percent on that, it wasn’t worth it. Note: for Diamond Club with a butler it was $75 US/person/day, but that was booked up. The wine was better than what we get in Dominican. - Coffee shop only open at 7am so a lot of people were waiting around in the morning to get a coffee, no where else to get one before that. - buffet had a lot of selection, if not made to order for you, food was only warm even when we were first to arrive. It was pretty much the same every day though, we alway enjoy resorts that do theme nights so you are eating something different every night. - A-la-carte restaurants, The Zen was fun, it was more enteretainment from the chefs, food was good, steak was very tough. Jade was very good, our favorite, and food always hot. Hunter, the steakhouse, dissappointed here for the time we spent waiting. Warmish french onion soup, all broth and a piece of bread and cheese thrown in not cooked on top. Steak was overdone. 4. Resort overall - We were told the resort is 60 years old and it shows it, it was very run down, first look seemed OK, but closer look it needs a major renovation - I don’t think we ever really saw people cleaning the resort, usually any resorts we go to they are constantly cleaning and touching up the resort - There is a newer resort beside them they own, Blue Waters, it looks much newer but we were told you had to get the butler service with that, it’s not something we ever want. - Wings A & C are the oceanview rooms, Wing B looked out back and Wing D which we started at looked at all the water towers and back of buffet and it was very noisy. - Beware that your room may have the adjoining door to another room and it’s noisy - We found the weekend we arrived and end of week we left they offer Day Passes to locals, the resort is so small as it is and took long enough to get a drink this just made it even more frustrating Finally, we have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this is definitely does not qualify. Even though we started out disappointed with our room we made the best of our week. Only our second time to Jamaica, we hope to go back but will pay a bit more for a better hotel, maybe back to the Hyatt which is a true 5 star. We would not recommend this hotel to anyone with the expectations of a 5 star

I was there first week of Feburary 2020 Hotel room, sheet/towels were very clean, staff is very nice, food is delicious, beach and pool area is amazing - well kept. My only problem was the closet door in my room was not sliding back and forward - need some one to fix the track - I have mentioned to the front desk every morning and no one came to fix it. Hopefully it is fixed by now.

grounds- good public areas -good rooms - crowded, no chairs, .tiny, poor balcony views - in a word. unacceptable dining - good beach - very dirty. plastic all over. an eco disaster pools - floating debris, pumps not working, unsafe to go in, ruined our time furniture - unsuitable for a resort, very uncomfortable

We would highly recommend the Royalton White Sands resort. The staff are friendly, restaurants (Japanese, Hunters steakhouse, jerk chicken shack at the beach and the buffet for breakfast, lunch and supper) were excellent, and lots of choices for food and drinks. The swimming pools and swim up bar was amazing. Very entertaining staff at the swim up bar. There were plenty of chairs for vacationers at the pools and at the beach. Rooms were clean. A very enjoyable holiday.

The ground and public areas are very good. Dining , in general, is good. Service ( except the check in) are very good. The room is run down, i.e. the bed mattress on both bed are sacking, the patio door outside handle is missing. If you try to conserve energy by closing the patio door when you stay outside, you can't get back in. The view from the B building are terrible, facing roof top and hotel kitchen. Although when we book the trip, it is suppose to be Luxury room, without extra US $ 350 upgrade fee, we end-up in this type of room. The check in process is terrible, unless you pay extra to become a diamond member, they just keep you waiting and waiting. It take us hours to get the room with a kitchen view.

This is a very well kept resort where everything is clean from the rooms to the beach and in between. Great service and very friendly staff pretty much in every area. Well trained to provide a "my pleasure " response to every thanks. Have no real complaints of any sort other than they have to find a better system for their coffee service in the buffet restaurant . Coffee only comes after many requests and usually only after the breakfast meal is either half done or done! They should have a self serve coffee set up like most other resorts.Is this typical to Jamaica compared to other destinations?

Every thing was very good Accept the room, No cold water In the washroom think, and after too many complaints, finally they send some body Saturday one day before we left and when we came the room and the washroom wasn't clean .

Food was amazing, staff was so friendly. Claudia took wonderful care of our room. The jerk hut had killer jerk. I do wish the water was open later. I will 100% recommend this resort to everyone. Service at Tripcentral was also the best. Thank you, Julie, for all your help and follow-ups!

We just returned from a family vacation at Royalton White Sands. I would recommend the Diamond Club upgrade. It was worth it. Check in was quick and smooth. Our room was clean, towels changed twice daily by a very friendly cleaning staff. Grounds and public areas are immaculate. All staff were very welcoming, polite and warm. Dining was terrific. The buffet choices are terrific with something for everyone. Food was hot and flavourful including a very good kids station. Our favourite restaurants were Zen, Jade and the Steakhouse. The beach was beautiful, no need for water shoes. The kids water park kept them busy all day. A great family vacation. No a place for a quiet vacation!!

Hotel was so amazing, clean, staff was incredible everyone always smiling. Entertainment was the best I have ever seen. Food was delicious. Pools were lovely, beach is awesome. Was more than impressed. I am already planning another visit to return to this resort.

Hotel incredibly beautiful great pools, the staff was the best so hospitable!! From al-Wayne and Jodi-Lynn at the pool bar, to Andre who made my omelette and put a smile on my face every morning,to Joyce who is from the martini bar.. and countless others who made our stay anazing I loved that the wifi was strong and worked everywhere, no room keys needed it’s all part of your wrist band, no towel cards required.. food was awesome had the best steak I have ever had st hunters steak house!! The ocean the nicest I have seen, the foam party what a blast I highly recommend this!!

I read a lot of bad reviews and was having second thoughts about the resort. Then I realized some people are stu#@d and are impossible to please. I was right. The hotel was great. We stayed in the newer part. Rooms were clean. Staff are amazing. Food excellent. Only complaint....not enough beef patties lol But honestly this place is really nice. Quiet and relaxing. Great place. Enjoyed it very much

We just came back on Monday! We had a great time. Our daughters bought us this trip for our 30th wedding anniversary. We have been going to Jamaica for that last 20 years because of places like the White Sands. This is our favourite resort by far. Very personalable and the small details are what makes it stand above the rest. The staff like Natoya who works on the beach serving drinks made our trip. She looked after us like we were her family. You won’t be disappointed in this resort and what it has to offer.

The hotel overall is less than a 3.5 star. The service from front desk, housekeeping and bar are horrible. The entire management team needs to be re-evaluated and the staff need more training to resolve issues.

The grounds at this resort are immaculate and people are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. We met many new friends and took part in all of the activities that the resort had to offer including the fitness classes, trivia games, dance contests and nightly entertainment. My husband, 8 year old son and I just got back from a week at the Royalton White Sands. We had a great time. On our last day we did a little review of our experiences and I am happy to share it with you. Rooms Pros (Luxury Room Level on 2nd Floor) -Clean, nicely decorated rooms - great shower - view of Zen restaurant - small but nice balcony Cons - initially we were put in a room that faced the water treatment system and staff room, we complained and were moved to a room facing Zen restaurant - room category exactly the same but view is terrible Hotel Grounds Pros - beautiful, lush and well groomed grounds - clean and easy to get around the resort - everything is close - well mapped out (kids activities are placed together / adult spaces placed together) (no Cons) Food and Restaurants Pros - tons of food options (buffet at Gourmet Marche was great) - good quality breads, cheese, meat, fruit and veggies - unlimited mimosas (my fav) - coffee bar open late - ice cream parlour open late - 5 other restaurants all beautifully decorated - got to dine under the stars several nights while watching live performances so fun! Cons - Steak house meat was good but over cooked Entertainment - the entertainment was great, we really appreciated the obvious effort that went into the entertainment - loved Beauty and the Beast performance, Synchronized Swimming performance and Jamaica Trivia night - we loved the pride that the staff and performers showed for their country - and we love Bob Marley and all the tributes to his music (no cons) Staff Pros - honestly the staff were lovely, they generally seemed happy to serve and were very appreciative of our gratitude - Marie who cleaned our room, was so lovely and give us big smiles everyday - the staff at the water sports were really cool and made us really feel welcome Cons - when you arrive they try to get you into some time share or "resort rewards program" we were only pestered a few times, but as my husband says " we are not paying for another vacation on our vacation". - staff can be slow to respond to requests - staff unclear or off limited details and information especially when it comes to off resort excursions Facilities Pros - beautiful pools - several kids pools - several adult pools - 4 large waterslides - mini water park for little kids - foosball table -pool table -pingpong - shared facilities with sister resort Blue Waters - plenty of lounge chairs, sofas, tables to chill at Cons - the tennis courts (2) are located on top of one of the restaurants and the nets are falling down, it is on astro-turf, not really cared for. When we arrived at the hotel we did not have an assigned room. After waiting 45 minutes we went to the front desk and got a room on the 6th floor that was joined with another room. The room was clean but not kept up very well. First night, at 3am I had to go to the front desk because the people in the room next to us had the tv on so loud that we couldn’t sleep. The front desk did not do anything about it. At 4am my husband went and finally the front desk called the room to turn the tv off. In the morning we requested a room change and they told us that it would be ready at 2:30-3:00pm. So at 3pm we went and were informed that the room is not ready yet. After a few trips to the front desk, around 6pm, finally got a different room on the second floor. I should mentioned that this was a family vacation and we were traveling with our 11 month daughter and a full size stroller. When we were trying to move all our stuff to the room, we realized that the second floor does not have elevator access. So now few times a day we had to carry the stroller up and down a flight of stairs (not really An ideal situation when you’re on vacation). I thought that this was very inconsiderate of the hotel. Our new room had no blowdryer, bathrobes or scale which the hotel advertises is included in every room. We also had to ask for towels as our room was not cleaned when we returned to put our daughter for an afternoon nap. The beach is small but nice. We were able to find an umbrella for the most part. The pools were nice too. They have an adult infinity pool, family pool and a splash park. There were only few umbrellas in the pool area and were always reserved with towels which was really ennoying! I think the family pool should have more umbrellas to provide shade for the kids. Overall the food was good. The steakhouse was the best, followed by the buffet restaurant. We tried the Italian restaurant for lunch but we found the food to be too salty. Opa, which is the Mediterranean restaurant has pretty good food as well. The Mexican was ok but we waited a very long time to get our food. I really enjoyed the entertainment. There were a lot of activities offered during the day and the evening showed were amazing! The staff was very friendly and attentive. Overall I would rather pay a little extra and stay at Blue Waters which is next to white sand and is a newer resort with access to both resorts.

The resort itself was stunning. Loved the beach and the food in the restaurants. Unfortunately our trip was full of problems starting with no a/c in our room until half way through our trip and despite asking daily for a fan we never received one. 17 power outages, I almost fell down the stairs and twice we ate in the dark. No hot water one day. No water another. A swarm of bugs came crawling under our door and filled our room. We had to ask for 2 days to have a bed made up for our son to sleep in. The room service food gave me food poisoning.

This resort was amazing. From the staff, to the service, food, grounds and entertainment, they had it all. This resort is perfect for families with kids of all ages - tons of things for the children to do. Only downfall, the rooms are a bit small. Definitely recommend!

Great resort with very good adult pools and kids pool. Daughter liked the water park slides and they even had a foam party for the kids. Food was very good, better than other all inclusive we have stayed at and all the staff in resort are well trained to help and look after your needs. Excellent little coffee shop in Entertainment area that doubles as an ice cream shop so parents and kids both can get a pick me up in the afternoon. Rented a Cabana for one day and was enjoyable, Staff made the difference by looking after the kids with fruit plates and snacks. We would recommend the resort to families looking for a resort that will look after both parents and kids without being too big

A group of us stayed at this hotel for a destination wedding (about 90 plus people). This hotel claims to be a Royalton but I have stayed at a Royalton in Cancun and this is nothing compared to that. I will give you a few examples of things that went wrong. Upon arrival it was a mess! People that booked a suite did not get their room as paid for. My brother and his family paid for a jacuzzi suite with ocean view, that's supposed to sleep 5 people, was shown to a room with 1 bed and a pulled out sofa for 5 people. He finally ended up with a second room with a connecting door. Still no jacuzzi or ocean view suit. We later found out that this happened to many people in our group, even the bride and groom! They booked a suite also (embassy if I am not mistaken) and was given a regular room. With all their luggages that they brought for their wedding they didn't even have space to walk in the room. They were told that their room would not be ready until Friday. We arrived on Tuesday and wedding was on Thursday. The bride and groom had to borrow their relative's room over at the blue water side on their wedding day to get ready. Now for my room, we did not book a suite but we did pay $7,400 for 2 adults and a 12 child. We were given 1 bed and a pulled out sofa that barely fit the 12 year old. We had a room that had a connector door to the next room. My husband went to open it and was able to go into the next room! We called in one of the staff to let them know what was happening and he worked on the locks but he could not get it to lock. We ended up just pushing the sofa against the door. Phoned never worked the whole time we were there (to order room service that was offered 24 hours). We were promised someone would look into it 3 separate times. No hair dryer or clock in our room. The first few days our room was cleaned every other day. When we asked about it we were told that house keeping was very busy. But they did give us clean towels when we asked for it. We did enjoy the exercise classes offered. Although one time instructor never showed up and no one can give, the 10 people that was waiting for the class to start, a reason why. Beach on the Whitesand side had rocks that was very dangerous. My cousin was injured and had to go to the hospital. She ended up paying $700 dollars for the visit. I myself trip on the rocks but luckily I was not injured. My sister and her son was on the beach and was approached by local vendors. I am assuming, and was offered weed. Needless to say my sister was not very happy that this was happening on the hotel beach. There does not seem to be any managements at this hotel. Employees seem to do what they want. I will give you a few observations. I was heading to my room when I heard a worker ask a guest to give him beer, employee drinking with guests and offering weed for sale, guests asking questions and staff saying I don't know. There was a lot of I don't knows during my 8 day stay. One morning my sister and I went down to yoga we saw a pile of vomit on the floor. Employees standing near by. An hour later we walked by still there. Employees nearby talking. We later walked by it again and thought someone cleaned it up. We were wrong guest have walked on it clearing the spot up! I will have to say my Cancun experience was very different from my Jamaica experience. I will have to think twice about booking with Royalton again. You should really listen to your guest. We observe so many complaints about this hotel while standing in the lobby of the hotel from your guest. Even the food was horrible. The bride made a comment that mirrors my thoughts "Is it me or does the food here taste all the same?" I would also like to let you know that there were good workers also especially in the coffee shop and the buffet.

Slightly below average compared to other resorts visited... rooms were tiny for the price I paid, service was disorganized and slow, amenities were okay/average/could be improved, dinner options were great but again, the service was incredibly slow

Where to start about this hotel. 24 hour room service?? Maybe if they picked up the phone but mosty they didnt bother answering. If u got someone to actually answer then you will wait anywhere from 45 min to an hour. Food is aweful when it arrives anyway, cold. Restaurant food was aweful, the italian was the only chance for a decent meal. Service did not exist outside of restaurants. So if u want food between buffet and dinner good luck. Burgers and fries u might find but u will wait for it 45 min again. Now to the rooms. (We were part of a wedding group of 50+) most phones didnt function, many rooms including mine had their safe smashed open before we even got into our room, hit water didnt work at all first night ( some didnt have water at all) second night it was only hot!?. Beach was great weather was great. In other words parts that were under the hotels control was good. I would never come to this hotel again.

We had a wonderful vacation at the royalton white sands resort. The food was amazing! They had an amazing variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and for those who enjoy trying new dishes they had a great selection of Jamaican cuisine. They had 7 a la cartes restaurants to chose from. Armadillo Tex Mex, Calypso (Jamaican food), OPA Mediterranean, Jade Asian cuisine, Hunters steak house, Grazie Italian and Jade teppanyaki (need a reservation for Jade only). Staff were very attentive and made you feel welcome. They had a fantastic entertainment team. We had the opportunity to get to know Javare with the entertainment team. He was extremly outgoing and personable, definitely adding to the guest experience. Entertainment during the day includes trivia, hula hoop, dance lesson, karaoke etc. They also had an amazing fitness team. We took several of Jeffery’s classes. They did aqua fit , boot camp, sunrise yoga, sun set yoga, volley ball, Trx training, kick boxing etc. Lots to do during the day. They had a white clothing beach party on Monday night with a fire, s’mores and reggae music, everyone really enjoyed this event. We also really enjoyed the foam party at the adult pool which was on Friday. Water activities included paddle boards, kayaks, hobbie cats, masks and snorkels for guests to use. We splurged our last day and rented a pool cabana complete with our own infinity plunge pool, lcd tv, sound system and mini fridge. Cabanas come with butler service as well. Ours was Mr. Young. He was very professional, attentive, outgoing and a genuine asset to The Royalton. What a fantastic vacation! It would be difficult to find anything to complain about the Royalton white sands. Due to the rough sea at the time, the beach (White Sands side) was left a bit rocky and scattered with seaweed. The beach crew worked hard to clean up promptly. Beach venders are permitted to walk the waterline and could be a little over the top and pushy. If you can afford to spend a bit more I’d recommend staying on the Blue Waters side of the resort, it has newer rooms and you can use the beach chairs on the better beach side (no rocks and hardly any seaweed) . If you wait until you get there and decide you want to upgrade they want you to pay 200 additional per night per couple. Amazing vacation with amazing people. Thanks Royalton.

We actually stayed at Royalton Negril- we never stayed at White Sands. From the moment we arrived we felt special. We upgraded to the Diamond Club. We got to our hotel around 1030pm at night. We were shown to our room and on the TV was a picture of the hotel and our name welcoming us. The room was beautiful and there was a plate of fruit from our butler who we would be meeting the next day. Our main butler was Keno and he set us up through face book messenger so we could communicate with him while we were there. Our other butler was Dorett, Thanks Dorett for filling up our tub with bubbles and flower petals. Keno made our reservations for us for the restaurants for the week. The Diamond bar / restaurant by the beach has great food, we ate lunch there everyday. The main restaurant/buffet we usually had breakfast there but if you are a light eater, they have at the Diamond lobby, fruit, yogurt, muffins coffee etc.Don't think we had one bad meal. We really enjoyed the Diamond Club BBQ and got to meet some other people. The property is very nice and the beach is great, real close, not far to walk to. We also got to walk the beach and see other hotels on the strip. We also enjoyed the hot showers. The resort has a large gift shop near the buffet restaurant and a duty free shop as well. If you decide to go, take the upgrade and ask for Keno, he will look after you.

This was my second time at this resort and I would definitely go back. The restaurants were great and there was always something to do throughout the day. The entertainment staff and fitness staff were also very good.

Fitness program is amazing. They have yoga 2-3 times a day, TRX, bootcamp and more. Very challenging and fun. This is great because for some people, vacation is the opportunity to have the time to work out so this is great! Wish I did more.

Overall I think this Resort is a bit overrated. The food is exceptional however, some of the rooms at the White Sands leave little to the imagination and need a facelift. We had no hot water except for the last day we were there and lights frequently went out as the power was an issue. Only two of the water slides were working which defeated the purpose of us choosing the resort for a family vacation for our 9 year old son. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff. However, some of the travel smart individuals trying to sell you timeshares where unprofessional and pushy. I felt like being at a Royalton luxury property it shouldn't have been timeshare Focused. Entertainment at night time locked they have a big venue set up but they never used it one time I was there. Their entertainment schedules were barely stuck to and there was no life and fun during the day. They need a new entertainment crew. I would definitely say you get more bang for your buck staying at the Bahia or Iberostar properties with entertainment food and quality of Resort. This should definitely be listed as an adult resort I didn't see many kid activities other than the water slides there wasn't much fun for the kidlets. Definitely if you're planning to stay at this Resort try the Blue Waters or if you're staying at the White Sands make sure you get an ocean view room or you'll be Gravely disappointed. Also we upgraded to Diamond Club but I would suggest that you do the same before you go down or you will not get the amenities that you are looking for with this type of Resort. As well, room service locked timing sometimes we never even got our meal. One point the chicken fingers were so undercooked we had to send them back and reorder however we never got the order back up to the room. And although some pieces had already been eaten we noticed that our stomachs were a little bit upset afterwards. Overall I would rate this Resort compared to some of the others I've been at in Jamaica around a 3.5. As you enter the front of the building it is not what you expect from a luxury resort which is a waiting out back. New management is definitely needed and proper organization with respect to entertainment and running the resort in a fashion that they promote it as family friendly with great kid programs and more involvement during the day for fun and relaxation.

Wonderful areas for kids to play- slides and lazy river. Good size hotel and getting around was easy. Beach was beautiful but not easy to swim as bottom is rocky/shells. Food is just ok- only one buffet open for white sands and blue water for breakfast and they often run out of things and long line for egg station.

Super friendly and helpful staff (Petulla, Karisha, Cecilia, Denby, Jessup and Kaisha). Amazed on how clean the beach was with no garbage. Loved the shows especially the Bob Marley show. The Food was average.

Hotel was great from the grounds to the service. The food was amazing no complaints at all. The only downfall of the resort was the showers horrible, sometimes you would get hot water or cold. My daughter was taking a shower and in the middle of the shower she was faced with scolding hot water and she cried for about 10 mins. Water park was a great place for the kids to play watch out for the bigger water slides my children bumped their heads on the sides while going down the slide. Stay away from the orange water slide.

My boyfriend and I had such a great stay at the Royalton White Sands from the moment we arrived to our departure. The staff were wonderful (in particular a big shout out to Rochelle at Opa, Ryan at Martini near Opa, Judith at Marche who made delicious omelets, Kamoy for driving me in the golf buggy on the rainy day down to the sports bar, Jeff in the fitness team, Jamar at Grazi and Kadian at Guest Services). But really all the staff throughout the resort were lovely and always said hello and asked how we were or if we needed anything. The resort is beautiful and so clean. We had an array of dining options to choose from, but unfortunately missed Jade (Asian cuisine) which I heard was delicious due to it being closed a lot of the time and we missed Calypso (West Indies cuisine) as we'd planned to go on our last night but it was closed then too. Nonetheless the other restaurants and food outlets were great and there was so much choice. We absolutely loved the freshly made burgers and pasta at the lunch buffet and the breakfast selection was awesome! The only thing I would recommend is a few more savory snack options, like crisps or nuts at the bars or in the mini bar in the rooms. It would be good to have these while sitting around the pool or beach. The pools were fabulous too and there were so many. We particularly enjoyed the adult only pool with the swim up bar and all the cocktail options, especially the Bob Marley and Rum Punch and it was great that there was so much entertainment happening throughout the day organized by the Vibe team. A highlight was that we were right on the beach too! We also loved the waterslides, they were great fun! The room was great, although we didn't have much of a view, but we weren't in the room all that much anyway. We met another couple who showed us their room view which was fabulous so you can always opt for one of those if a view is what you're after. One thing I would suggest for the rooms is full length mirrors. But the bed was so comfortable and the showers and bathroom amenities were lovely too. All in all, we had a fabulous stay and highly recommend this resort!!

I have to say I had a wonderful time on this trip, a little too short for my liking but one to remember for a life time. Our host Kevon was amazing! When we arrived my friends told him it was my birthday he went and bought me a drink in the lobby, also singing Happy Birthday very loudly. Totally made it more special. The hotel was amazing and the people, I can’t say enough! A few points that weren’t too great: 1) I was told that if I did a breakfast with a diamond start sales rep I’d get a little gift. I wasn’t really wanting to get up early the day after my birthday to go for a breakfast with this person but I figured if I got a gift it would be worth it. However after 1 and a half hours if sitting with the rep and hearing the sale pitch I was tired and wanting to go back to my friends who I came with and was there for only 3 days. But at that point the rep was pretty upset and pushing hard for me to continued his pitch. I needed to get back to my friends and let them know I was on my way to join them at the beach. When I went to sign off and told them I had no interested to join I was told I will not get the gift because I did not finish the pitch. I was pretty upset that I lost time with my friends and did not get my gift after the fact. 2) Having to paid a taxi back and forth from the airport was not fun, we had a very hard time getting a good price, also we did not realized how much the taxi would be and so we didn’t budget for it and my friend almost got in to a fight with the taxi drive over the price. I would prefer that was set up with a shuttle before we had gotten there. Other than those two things the trip was great and of course I want to live there. Great compact resort, the people are very friendly and helpful. Only one elevator working which was a pain to service everyone in the hotel but overall happy with our stay. Peter at the swim up bar was awesome! He made the days fun and was super nice! The young lady that did Yoga on the ocean and abs/yoga on the beach (sorry don't remember her name) was awesome! Great teacher in a beautiful environment! Our first time in Jamaica and we will definitely be back!

The hotel rooms are very clean, the room assigned to us was excellent condition and enough space to hold a big family. The people there are very friendly and helpful. Food is delicious too. We all had a great time.

This is a five star all the way. Gorgeous beach, lovely staff, gourmet cuisine. You will not be disappointed. Third time to Jamaica and this resort outshines the others. Be sure to say hello to Mark (the food and beverage manager) Amazing and gracious man.

I read reviews therefor I think it's important to write one myself. I have been on many all inclusive vacations and I feel I have a pretty honest opinion. In this vacation only my husband and I went. First off I wanted to say the staff were awesome. Everyone greeted us with a friendly smile and would ask if we needed help with anything. From the entertainment staff, bar staff, waitresses/waitors, greeters, front desk, bell boys, pool staff, everyone just seemed to love their job! The food was great! We tried most of the restaurants. Our favourites were the Tex-Mex and Italian. The buffet had lots of different choices and the quality was super. They also offer jerk chicken at the hut by the beach and you are able to order from the sports bar all afternoon/evening and pizza from the Italian restaurant during lunch and they would deliver to your spot by the pool/beach ;) The beach was clean but on the smaller side. You are able to use both blue waters and white sands side of the resort. The pools were always kept clean. The biggest upset is that we had to get up early to find seats by the pool (like most resorts). There isn't a limit to how many towels you can take so a lot of people would take numerous chairs in the morning. The "no reserving" rule was not enforced. The adult pool by the beach however was enforced and children were asked to swim in different pools. The splash pad looked amazing as well as the slides and lazy river. We would love to bring our kids back for that reason. Okay now the rooms... we were not thrilled with our room. Our air conditioner didn't work, our toilet wouldn't flush and our phone didn't work. The toilet was fixed right away but the phone and air conditioner could not be fixed so we moved rooms. Unfortunately we were moved to a smaller room with no sitting area and an extremely small bathroom. We aren't ones to complain too much so if you can get past that the rooms are smaller than other resorts then you are ok. We don't spend much time inside anyway. The bed was like a cloud! So comfortable. Balcony was small as well. Overall we loved the resort. It was kept clean and was the perfect size for us. Lots to do and not too far to walk. We would love to bring our kids back next time. Entertainment was fabulous. Always great shows!! Coffee...my favourite!!

This is a beautiful resort. Everything was clean, the food was great the people are friendly. The beach area is small which is fine with me. Beautiful wedding destination, we saw probably 5 or 6 weddings in one week. I really liked that you didn't have to turn in your beach towel every day for a card. The resort lets you use all the beach towels you want. I also really like that the room key in on your wristband, no worries about loosing it. The third thing that impressed me was that you do not need reservations for the a la carte restaurants (excluding one of them). You can go to the same restaurant over and over if you like. I was most impressed with the steak at the Italian restaurant, it was even better than the steak house restaurant. The locals that try to sell you things on the beach are not pushy at all. If you tell a vendor no thank you, they say "no problem" and leave you alone. In other countries, the local people can be very pushy and even follow you around to try to make the sale. Fabulous kid section, lots of slides and a lazy river, lifeguards on duty until 5:30 p.m. each day. We took the luminous water tour, and though it was interesting, it was expensive and in my opinion, not worth the money. The only negative I would have to say about this resort is that a number of people were smoking the local herb on their balconies and I don't like the smell, it makes me nauseous. I could smell the "weed" every day.

The resort was clean and well appointed. The staff was quite helpful and had a desire to please the guests. The booze and food was exceptional. We would go back to this resort... a great family resort or a singles holiday..

We took a 2 bedroom presidential suite that ended up being 2 adjacent rooms since the outside door had no lock on it. The place was filthy and and never cleaned properly. They run out of everything (food, drinks, etc) and never replenish. We paid a fortune to stay there and we were begging to get bottles of water... pathetic. Go somewhere else...

We had a room on the 7th floor, which had a great view of the mountains, and a nice view of the beach. The room was spotless, the bed was perfect. The grounds were beautiful, and again spotless. The beach was small, but the water was great. We found all the Restaurants to be very clean, good food, good service, All in all, we where very happy that we stayed for 2 weeks.

We, decided to choose this resort based on recommendations from other families who have stayed here. Prior to our departure date I was worried about the reviews left by people on trip advisor about the lack of hot water at the resort. I was so worried that I sent many emails to my travel agent Sandra Gallaugher. Sandra re-assured me that was not the case and if I had any issues while there to call or text their customer service dept. Well we went the Royalton White Sands and had a fabulous time. It was our first family trip with our two little ones aged 3 1/2 and 6 years old. * The food was good, sometimes repetitive but other wise it was always hot and a good variety * The butler service was amazing and I highly recommend purchasing this upgrade if you can. Our butler Nick and Rushane always made sure we were looked after. They brought hot lunch (pizza, wings, fries, jerk chicken) to the pool for us and the kids so we never had to leave. * The pool and kids area were fantastic and I can't say enough about the Kids Club which my children loved. It's a place where the kids can do art, play video games and hang out at the park * The resort it self is not very big and that is a plus because you know where everything is. Very quaint with a great family vibe. * The entertainment at night was great and we listened to amazing music on our balcony every night. * I can't say enough about the staff at this resort, top notch, very friendly and helpful. Would I go back? Yes A great family vacation with no issues with hot water! ;0) .

Grounds were immaculate, food was great and abundant, so were the drinks. Staff were friendly and always helpful. We have no complaints whatsoever. We would def like to visit again very soon and will recommend to family and friends.

The resort was awesome, very clean, well maintained. Nice pools; cool water slides, and lazy river :) Childrens play area had fun water features and water slides. Staff were amazing, so polite, happy, pleased to serve you. Our room service was excellent. Food was very good all in all, service at the steak house was very slow - only drawback. We had a couple of excursions, half day to Dunn's Falls - great experience, highly recommend. Also did luminous lagoon - very entertaining and fun evening.

I have travelled extensively throughout the Caribbean and Mexico and stayed in many 4 and 4+ star resorts. I was somewhat disappointed with this 5 star resort. Upon arrival at the hotel I was informed that my room would not be ready until 5:30 p.m. My understanding was that check in was 3:00 p.m. I was given a room on the 3rd floor overlooking a massive flat roof at the front of building overlooking the street and noise of the locals. It made it very difficult to catch a nap late afternoon. I had paid extra for a single supplement and was somewhat disappointed with the size of my room (1 double bed) and the lack of amenities (no full length mirror). I felt like I had booked a "super saver" room. I complained to the front desk and requested another room. They told me they could not accomodate me until the next day at 2:00 p.m. The following day they gave me another room on the 7th floor with the same view, however this time I had a King Size Bed, but still no mirror. I was shocked at the size of the shower and how a larger person would ever fit inside. Other people I was travelling with had rooms that were larger. I felt like I was given a smaller room because I was travelling on my own. On a positive note, the bed was extremely comfortable, well maintained and the lighting in the bathroom was awesome. I found the food throughout the resort, at both the buffet and the a la cartes extremely good, along with the Jerk Chicken served on the beach. I found the service at both the restaurants and bars very good. I did tip for the good service and it definitely did not go unnoticed by the staff. They had 1 hottub, however the jets did not work my entire stay. There was also high pressure spouts at the infinity pool which did not work the entire stay. I inquired about the hydrotherapy at the spa and was informed it also wasn't working. They did offer different nightly entertainment such as a Michael Jackson Show, tribute to Bob Marley (a live Reggae band), acrobatic performer, synchronized swimming, along with an outdoor buffet. The only down side to the entertainment was the courtyard location where the shows took place and lack of seating. In summary, I did not feel that the Royalton White Sands was superior to any of the 4 star resorts I have stayed at previously, and yet was the most expensive resort.

We had trouble checking in with the resort, even though we were part of a wedding group that had been booked for months & months in advance. My fiance and I did not get the king bed we requested. We were told they didn't have any room for us and for another guest of the party when we arrived. We waited approximately 20 minutes and were given a room with a twin bed and a double bed, which was dirty. The tv was left on, the bathroom was dirty, and the bed sheets had sand in them. I can only imagine someone checked out and they stuck us right in the room without properly cleaning it. The other guest without a room had to wait an hour before they found a spot for him. They told us to come down the following morning before breakfast for another room. Nobody came to clean the room. The mini fridge was empty. We asked three separate times to have water, it was not brought for over three hours. We had to sleep on top of the covers & sheets because our bed was dirty the first night. We came down the following morning and were told we should come back at noon. Fine. We come back at noon with our packed luggage (as they requested) and we were told to wait again until 2pm, and to leave our luggage in the lobby. The front desk staff was rude when we expressed our frustration with the process. Not helpful at all. I won't even get into the trouble the bride had on her special day, as I'm sure she wants to write her own review, but for the amount of money you spend to ensure you have a special day - I can say with certainty I would not recommend this resort to anyone for their wedding day. The resort itself is small, but beautiful. The resort is very modern and well decorated and clean. The bartending staff is great - they are friendly and prompt. The chefs are great too. The buffet service is very slow, there were times where we were not served drinks at all or given napkins/proper cutlery. Room service was pretty bad too, it would not come for 1.5-2 hours and they were always out of more than half the menu. There were times there was no hot water and the wifi was not working. All in & all, I would not return to this resort. There are many other places in Jamaica to travel to and I would suggest trying another spot.

The overall look of the Hotel is nice, clean and inviting as you drive up. The beach is nice but small on the White Sands side. You can't walk very far without being asked to buy smoke or souvenirs. Rooms were clean but our Room had a single adjoined door that you can hear conversations through...not very private. We had hot water all week and the rain shower is great although it would have been nice to have a bathtub as well. No 24hr restaurant or bar other than room service. We were told by many in our party it was an 1-1/2 to 2hr wait so we did not use this service. Food at the buffet...most food was cool or room temp unless you waited in line for the freshly grilled or sautéed pasta or meats. We did have a good time with our friends and enjoyed most of our stay. But Overall disappointed that it does not live up to the Royalton standards or it's five star rating.

I have two complaints: the seal around the shower door was no longer forming a seal and each time we showered the water would leak onto the bathroom floor. The humidity was so high that the floor in our room was always wet and slippery.

The hotel was quite nicely laid out and the service was exceptional. I found the rooms a bit small with a couple of maintenance issues. BUT, overall, the grounds were lovely; the restaurants were all very good and the pools and beaches were great too.

The hotel was great. Food was amazing. Staff was warm and welcoming. We had our wedding there and they did a great job on it all. Only 2 things I didnt like. Multiple power outages (out of the control of the resort) and the rooms had water on the floor depending on temperature of the room. Hard to fault the resort for those since hydro was an island thing and water is due to outside hunidity.

Beautiful and clean resort! Friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food, great entertainment, relaxing atmosphere beautiful beaches. Upgraded to Diamond club would recommend resort and hope to return again.

We just got back from our trip. We travelled with our 13 and 10 year old and our 11 month old. This is the a wonderful resort for families. We stayed in a family suit which had plenty of room for our two boys to hang out away from us and enough room for a crib for the baby. I was truly impressed. The resort is super clean and with a baby that was very important. They were very accommodating in leaving extra bottles of water in our room for making baby bottles. My older boys ate everything and lots of it. I can not complain about the food. It was great. The boys had a wonderful time on the water slides and in the family pool. The entertainment was fabulous with multiple shows in different parts of the resort all evening. The staff were superb. Always smiling and asking if everything was ok and if we needed anything. the beach and water was very clean and absolutely beautiful. the only thing that was a little annoying was at night the mosquitos were out and they bite. So bring mosquito repellent. We have mosquitos at home so we just delt with it. What you see on the website is what you get. A beautiful resort and a beautiful paradise. I miss it already. We will definitely be going back!

Royalton White Sands – Montego Bay - Advertised as being open for 2 years, actually open for many years as 2 other resorts and refurbished poorly - Advertised as 5 star luxury, 4 star at best - At airport, no welcome package on the bus w/hotel info (everyone else got one) & also no tour guide on the bus to or from the resort (every trip I’ve booked since I was 20yrs has had someone to speak to guests on board the bus) Room - - Gave us a room w/1 bed (we requested 2), changed rooms & got a double bed with a small single bed instead of 2 double beds. It took over half hour for maid to clean the second room so we had to wait –the resort was not full - Bathroom was poorly lit and almost no water pressure, no ventilation in bathroom - - - Air conditioner was very damp. If you made it warmer in the room even by a few degrees, the dampness increased. It caused severe ear & throat pain for me the entire trip. I was forced to purchase extra Advil from the store daily - One entire side of building looked onto the construction of the new Royalton resort. It ran 24hrs a day with loud drilling. This was the side of the hotel we were on Food - Minimal choices at buffet, sometimes not ready to serve once open - When food trays ran out & were empty, it took over half hour to replenish each tray if they were replenished at all - Some days there were certain foods, some days not (regular foods like bread, fruit, potatoes etc) - Foods that were to be kept cold, were room temp (fruit, desserts, ice cream was melted liquid) and foods that were to be kept hot, were very frequently cold (meat & veggies, rice was always under cooked) - Ran out of different foods everyday (bacon, hash browns etc) - **Ran out of vodka one full day** Service - Upon arrival, poor reception by staff - Exceptionally slow, dinners at a la carte’s took close to 2-2.5hrs to get food & finish meal - Did not get the same foods as other guests while at restaurants which were complimentary and supposed to be at each table. Other tables around us had these things. (bread, butter, oil/vinegar etc) - Sometimes dirty used utensils were still at the table (didn’t change out new cutlery for new guests) - Slow to ask if we needed drinks or refills, sometimes didn’t ask at all - Store by the sports bar never had change. If you wanted to buy something you had to have exact bills or they wouldn’t sell you anything or attempt to get you change. Also staff at the store were caught sleeping multiple times on the floor by the register Grounds - Multiple weddings during our stay which cut off entire back area of resort to accommodate them so nowhere for visitors to walk around (small resort) - Digging up the grounds at certain areas on the resort during the stay - No ventilation or fans in the martini bar or sports bar area which made it very hot & cramped - On the right side of the beach, there was a chain link broken-down fence covered in tarps separating the resort part and the public parts of the beach. It was a horrible eye sore and the locals stood behind it & watched the guests daily Staff - All very friendly at first, but with time expected a tip before providing a service, would stand in front of you and wait - Staff sometimes bothered guests to take them to the buffet for lunch as they could only attend if they were invited by a guest (once you got friendly, this happened daily)

Friendly and accommodating staff, beautifully kept grounds, good food, ocean view suites are wonderful, we'll kept and very clean. Plenty of activities for kids and adults. Have been twice and would go back again for a third time!

I spent 2 weeks at Royalton white sands with no complaints. Resort is Friendly, clean and beautiful! Great food, lots of choice of restaurants and staff were great and accommodating. I wouldn't have it any other way.I would definitely go back.

This hotel was fantastic! Staff was fun, the resort itself was beautiful, and it had a stunning beach as well! They played great Jamaican music throughout the days and the Jamaican food was authentic and delicious (the Jerk chicken hut was amazing)! The only constructive thing I'd include, is that it did take awhile to get a drink at the swim up bar - but we're also all on caribbean time when we're down there right?! ;)

Food was good - especially the Italian restaurant! Service was hit or miss depending on the day. Entertainment and activities were lacking. However, great time in general and great for just chilling and relaxing.

Amazing resort for guest of all ages. Very clean and comfortable with great restaurants, facilities, entertainment and remarkable service. By far the best resort we have been to and their friendly and helpful staff certainly enhance the overall experience. From check in to check out, the service was impeccable. The only thing we would have preferred is a little less vendor traffic on the beach.

The grounds was well kept, the rooms were small and for diamond clubs members i think the rooms could be a little flasher more modern they also need more entertainment for the quests we were diamond members and i think we could have had better privilidge mainly for dining somethimes we could not find our butler

My husband and I can only say amazing things about the Royalton Whitesands Resort in Jamaica. The resort is gorgeous and the swim out honeymoon suite made our stay that much better and romantic. I highly recommend getting married at this resort as they will make sure everything is perfect. Our wedding pictures are incredible!!! The staff is always friendly and smiling. The ideal resort for weddings, honeymoons and family vacations.

Resort is Very clean, friendly staff awesome place for families. Very difficult to get into the steak house as its too small and they only have two seating times 6 and after 8:30. Staff go out of their way for you. We would go back.
