This was our second stay at this resort (the first was 3 years ago), and overall we had a great experience both times. The staff were very friendly and hardworking. Communication could sometimes be challenging as many staff members spoke limited English, and we speak very little Spanish, but everyone was always kind and helpful. The food was decent overall. We mostly ate at the à la carte restaurants, which could be a bit hit or miss. The French restaurant was our favourite. We also discovered the beach restaurant partway through our trip and ended up going there several times. The BBQ was excellent and probably the best food we had during our stay. Lunches by the beach were also very good, especially the burgers and steaks. The fresh pineapple was amazing, and the drinks were consistently great. Our room was comfortable and well-maintained. We did find a cockroach on the first day, but given the tropical climate, it can be expected. The beach was one of the highlights. There was very little seaweed compared to neighbouring resorts, and after walking along the beach to check out other properties, we felt our section was easily one of the nicest. Finding a lounge chair could sometimes be difficult later in the day, but if you went early, it wasn't a problem. The gym deserves special mention. It's one of the best resort gyms we've seen, with modern equipment and plenty of variety for a good workout. We also thought the night entertainment was well done! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return again.

I have come back to this resort three times. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the people are so friendly and happy to help you. The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious and the pools are fabulous and well maintained! I would definitely return. The only thing I feel this resort needs to do is upgrade the rooms and bathrooms.

I have stayed at Iberostar hotels number of times. Generally speaking, our overall experience has been great. However this time, I found the breakfast was not as good as I have always expereinced. Choice of fruit was less than satisfactory, bacon trays were empty at both ends of buffet, service was not as good, coffee served at the table was cold. Tables were not cleaned and cutlery not setup promptly. I had some time spend a bit of time looking for a clean table.

It was a very good hotel. They have excellent Food. Buffet had great selection. Service is great. Our major complain is the beach and the pools. There were so much seaweed that you can't swim. It looks nasty. I got rashes afterwards. We had to walk a kilometer away to find a nicer beach area. The pools are not well maintained. There were some ducks on the pool the first day we got there. I kept telling the staff there to clean the pool where the ducks are since it has something foamy floating around and leaves from the surrounding trees. After 4 days, the other pool was closed due to bacteria. The water looks like there are algae in the pool. We didn't use the pool anymore. It was still closed when we left. The tennis and pickleball courts are good. Easy to book and the court takes provides an excellent service. Unfortunately, around the same time when the pool got closed, they had a sewage issue beside the courts so the smell was so disgusting. We couldn't play for a couple of days until the issue was resolved.

The resort is amazing. Very beautiful landscaping. Great rooms, cleanand spacious. I love the tennis court and pickleball court The gym is great. Food is awesome, although some dishes were quite salty. Negative is, pool is dirty, can be improved,

Our kids are 2.5 and 1 - this resort was perfect for them. I cannot stress enough how the staff went above and beyond making our kids feel special each and every day. A very special shout out to Wescar and Lus in the buffet dining room - your kindness and smiles are contagious and you brightened my kids days every time we ate there. Thank you.

As the name of the resort says: WAVES, it is extremely wavy, windy, and some days rainy. It is not more than a 3-star resort with management that changes things without communicating with guests, with staff that barely speaks English or other languages than Spanish. POSITIVES: well-kept grounds and hardworking maids, bellboys, waiters. There is very good food in the buffets, with a variety of choices.Very flexible with check-in and out. NEGATIVES: no access to A la carte restaurants UNLESS YOU MAKE A RESERVATION, even if all over the resort they have huge panels advertising first come first serve protocol. Lines are hours long even if resto operates on a 50 percent basis each day. Resort has an app but no useful info is ever posted for anyone. Room cards need recharged daily because they don't work, so you need daily visits to the reception and wait until someone speaks English. There is no beach service unless you are a club member and most South American guests(far from being biased) smoke weed on the beach beside their newborn kids. Sad situation. If you are a beach person this is not the place to be, because is very busy, and overpopulated and a lot of screaming kids running around and you can smell the weed all the time. Almost impossible to swim due to the rough winds and waves.The rooms are dated and need a redo. Very small wash/bathrooms with a toilet behind the door, no fans. AC Rep connected with us when we arrived to get our departure info and told us that pick up would be on January 6, at 7.30. Although I exchanged phone numbers with Fritz and he called us during the week to ask if we would do any trips, when OUR PICK UP DID NOT HAPPEN on JANUARY 6, I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND TEXTED AC REP FRITZ, but MY CALLS, AND TEXTS WERE NOT RESPONDED. He was much more interested in making some cash on the side for trips rather than doing his job ensuring transfers to the airport as we paid for. We used a taxi to get to the airport and used our cash to pay for it. Communicating anywhere in the resort is difficult as an understanding English is not happening and speaking is even more problematic unless you are in the Club section where rudeness has its powers.My husband entered the Club coffee shop there and politely asked if he is allowed to be there.The response was: GET THE F. OUT OF HERE. Welcome to IBEROSTAR, only no stars can be added to their service.We travel a lot and we have seen many resorts but this was our first and last booking with IBEROSTAR.

It was second time staying there. The hotel was good location not to far from airport, very clean, cute little casino and golfing close by. The staff was amazing great food. Pools and beach are really over and above.

I recently stayed at the Iberostar Dominicana during our vacation, and it exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the cleanliness of the hotel and the warmth of the staff. Everyone we encountered was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.   One of the highlights for us was the buffet, which offered a wide variety of delicious dishes. As someone with dietary restrictions, I was pleased to see that they had gluten-free options available and were willing to make accommodations to ensure everyone could enjoy their meals.   Our room was spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean. We were pleasantly surprised when they added a third bed for us without any hassle, making our stay even more convenient.   Overall, our experience at the Iberostar Dominicana was fantastic, and we couldn't have asked for a better vacation. We are already planning our next trip back and will definitely be staying at this hotel again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

1 - Great choice of restaurants 2 - 3 pools (deep one, walkable one and a kiddie pool 3 - Nice clean beach The location is perfect if you like long walks along the beach. The only thing I didn't like is you couldn't put the room access cards anywhere near your cell phone or it would get demagnetized. Free WiFi is available throughout the resort.

This is my 4th time at this resort. The staff are super friendly. Clean rooms and the food at the buffet had lots of options and so much fresh fruit and vegetables. The beach is beautiful but it was very windy when we were there Feb.7-14/2024. Pools are great, we had no problems getting a lounge chair but we are early risers. Drinks are great and so many options. The only beer that is served is Presidente but I like their local beer. The rum punch at the pool bar is the best and they make a great coco loco and dirty monkey. The gardens are taken care of and you can get a free coconut from the lawn care guys that open for you to drink.

It was my first winter vacation and it was so great. The grounds were beautiful and clean, rooms had everything you needed, and the staff were kind and attentive. The buffet and restaurants that we attended had good food with lots to choose from!

Bad first impression as they assigned us to a room with one bed when we had requested two. Do not stay on the 2nd floor as the architecture provides a view of the concrete supports, not premium tropical view. The rooms are very small and plain. Beach has a "Blue Flag" designation with plenty of loungers there and at the pools. Staff are friendly and helpful. The French restaurant is amazing but the Smokehouse was awful. I had a bad reaction at the Asian restaurant so beware if you have allergies. The buffets have a good variety though. Evening entertainment was nice enough. Daytime crew were energetic and fun.

Resort was beautiful and spotless. We got to know 2 waitresses at the main buffet and they were amazing. Food at main buffet was outstanding - presentation impeccable. Our maid was top notch - made sure we had everything we needed. Rooms were clean but dated. Beach was beautiful and pool was nice with plenty of loungers available at both. Ocean was a little choppy but that is normal for this area. No issues with seaweed. We were told that this resort was going to be renovated and shutting down for approximately 6 months in September 2024. We will definitely return!!

Lovely vacation here. The resort is about 28 years old and could use a facelift, as the Punta Cana next door just received. I had a peak a couple of days before it reopened. Just lovely. The rooms are very dated, but spotless, as is the whole facility. My hat is off to them! Staff is very well trained and extremely attentive, outgoing and polite. Just lovely. The food, selection and presentation is fantastic! One minor complaint was communication a couple of times and bartending. I ordered a Tequila Sunrise one morning and was presented with a Greyhound(vodka and grapefruit juice). A Sunrise should not be stirred at all. They stirred every one I had there. On another note, I ordered Barcelona rum with pineapple juice one evening and received bourbon instead of rum. The day of our departure, I walked to the lobby to confirm our airline pick up to travel to the airport. The young woman at the concierge desk had no clue as to my question. Did not at all understand me. She was very polite but should have not been placed at this station. Overall, a wonderful 10 days in paradise. I will attempt to book the Iberostar Grand for a trip this coming March.

This was our second time at this resort we went just before COVID. The resort is beautiful and the grounds are very well kept. The staff is super friendly. We noticed that this time around that there is less staff who speak English but we just used a translator app, especially if you want decaf coffee in the buffet, lol. The food in the buffet was wonderful with lots of options and we preferred it to the a la carte. We did go to the French restaurant which we thought was the best, the Smokehouse was good , the Mexican restaurant we were not a fan of. The beach is beautiful and very little seaweed as they clean the beach twice a day. The rooms are ok, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We will return, love this resort.

We were last in this resort 21 years ago. The lobby and restaurants have been renovated and I think the pool as well. It all looks good. The food and service were excellent and we plan to bring our whole family here. What impressed me most was the enivornmental changes made. We were last in the DR 5 years ago and things have come a long way. Water stations on each floor and in bars. Refillable water bottles provided in the rooms. Very little disposable take out dishes. Paper straws and only on request. Garbage is sorted. Shampoo and soap dispensers in the bathroom. Electronic hand dryers in the public restrooms. Digital communications. All very impressive.

we had no expectations, good or bad for Iberostar Dominicana as we registered there so we could scuba dive with Dressel Divers which operates out of the resort grounds. we were pleasantly surprised by the experience and would return. in short, the facility was immaculate, staff friendly for the most part and food and lodging excellent.

Overall: excellent quality for money The Room: Ours was in the middle of the building, second floor facing the pool, we could see the ocean from our balcony too. We could hear the entertainment in the evening but never found it too disruptive. Our room had been updated sometime in the last few years. I wish the bathroom had been bigger or that the toilet was separated but it wasn't a huge issue. The bed was comfortable enough though still on the harder side. The Food: The food was fine, a lot of variety but things were often not labeled correctly. Quality was good but not amazing. The a la carte restaurants were also ok but not amazing. I had no stomach issues at the resort whatsoever from either the food or the filtered water they serve. The Beach - AMAZING what a fantastic location and great swimming. It does drop off fairly quickly for folks travelling with little ones but it's a nice sandy bottom. It can get rough but we swam even on the red flag days. Despite the signs, everyone reserves chairs so it's best to get out in the morning and do so if you want a prime spot in the busy seasons like march break. The beach vendors can be annoying but are generally respectful when you say no. We also felt comfortable leaving our bags on our chairs while swimming. The Staff - helpful and friendly regardless of whether you tipped or not (though we almost always did.)

The hotels grounds were very well kept and maintained. The hotel room toilet and AC worked and there was always plenty of hot water in our villa. The only issue we had during our stay was our safe battery had died in the room right before supper time, we called the front desk and the battery was changed out within 10 minutes! The food at the resort was vast but the buffet had mostly basic foods with not much flavor. The ala carte restaurants were much better than the buffet but you are only allowed 3 during your stay(Always order the beef, girlfriend ordered chicken and got chicken wings and not chicken breast). The pools were clean and the beach had lots of Palapas and sun chairs. We saw the beach operator with his tractor cleaning the sand every day.

We have been to Punta Cana several times. This resort exceeded our expectaton. I would highly recommend it! The staff were very friendly and the standard of service was just amazing. We will definitely return next year.

The restaurants were good, you would never go hungry! We ate at the seafood and steak restaurants. The steak was particularly good, and interesting since it is on the beach. The grounds were decent, but in need of a bit more attention. Same with the rooms, very functional but dated. AC worked very well!! Staff worked hard and were attentive. Jack Daniels, Popeye and the rest of the entertainment team work around the clock to keep us happy. Beach was excellent. Clean, soft sand and beautiful water. Of course having perfect 29C weather everyday was a nice touch :)

We have stayed at this hotel a few times but this year noticed the food selection at buffet was very low budget. Breakfast was the best, lunches and suppers always had hot dogs and pre made hamburgers, food was always room temperature. Shows were not well advertised and animation team spent more time chatting with each other then engaging guests. Rooms were clean and comfortable but could use updating.Grounds are lovely and beach as well. Pool was enjoyable. Daunny wait staff in dominicana buffet is a real gem😁 !, PLEASE PLEASE stop guest services from pushing people into going to the information breakfast about privilege membership. Not sure if we will go again, not a bad trip but definitely not as impressed as in past years.

Clean resort located within 20 minutes to most everything including the airport and is directly on the beach with 2 huge swimming pools and many restaurants and many bars but no actual swimup bar :( Entertainment crew are so awesome and fun day and night :)

My family of 3 stayed at the Iberostar Dominicana from Jan 30 to Feb 7th. Our second time at an Iberostar and we expected good quality and service. And we got it. This hotel/resort is always so clean and well kept. The staff are always working so hard to keep everyone happy, satisfied and not wanting for anything. They are sooo amazing and always have a smile on their faces. The beach is amazing and clean. The pools are similarly clean and well kept. We always found a place to sit or lay down our stuff. I also have to say that all the bathrooms were always clean, functioning and well stocked with paper products.... The gardens are so wonderfully manicured and beautiful. We used the gym facilities and can't say enough of them. Everything was just top notch and I think we all had a great vacation. A shout out to Yera, Bruno Mars and all the entertainment group. They were always 'on' and always making sure everyone was enjoying themselves....Finally, the food was good and there was always variety. The only negative I would say is that there are vendors on the beach that keep wanting to sell stuff. But if you say no thank you, or ignore them, then they move on. We would definitely return to this place, and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Thank you to all at the Iberostar Dominicana.

We visited the Iberostar Dominicana from January 24 to January 31, 2019. The resort is a 30 minute drive from the Punta Cana airport. There are two sides to the resort - the Dominicana side and the Punta Cana side, which are essentially mirror images of each other. We had a garden view room in the Dominicana side of the resort which means that our room was accessed from the interior garden courtyard. Our room was on the second floor of the 4 storey unit and it was very quiet and clean. It was a short stroll from our room to the pools area and then another short stroll to the beach. The entire grounds of the resort are meticulously groomed. Food at the resort is fresh but quite bland, as is to be expected at an all inclusive. Entertainment is good with two main events every night - the Teatro side features a large cast with a variety of shows with live music, dancers and singers, while the Star Band Stage is a smaller venue focused on largely latin music on stage assisted by the entertainment crew - on the ground - who circulate through the audience ensuring that anyone who wants to dance has a capable partner. The entertainment Crew work their tails off as it is their job to ensure that patrons enjoy the evening entertainment as well as participating in the daily aqua fit, volleyball, or dance lessons through the day. These folk work 12 days on and have 3 days off - so they earn their tips honestly. The weather for our stay was excellent - 7 days of 28 to 30 Celsius and blue skies. We did one excursion - para sailing - but it was a 30 minute van ride in a very sketchy van to a sketchy beach to a sketchy para sailing crew. My advice is pay the extra 20 USD and do the Para sailing at the resort. Our package was with Air Canada vacations, and while the price was good their so-called "Price Drop Guarantee" is totally misleading since it is almost impossible to qualify for it. Another misleading aspect of the AC Vacation is the so-called $500 resort coupons. An example is that there is, let's say, a $20 coupon for a $120 spa massage; however, if you talk to the person at the spa they'll give you the massage for $90 cash (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). This vacation exceeded our expectations and was better than our previous vacations to Antigua (Sugar Ridge) and Cuba (Melia Caya Coco)

Stayed at the iberostar Dominicana for 2 weeks. Grounds and hotel was very clean. However I would not have given it more than a 3star. Rooms very outdated. The food was very repetitive we ate the same things for breakfast lunch and supper everyday big disappointment. Lastly things went missing from our room.

This was my second visit to Iberostar Dominicana. It was for friend's a destination wedding. Unfortunately it was not a great experience at all. When we landed we were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in. They said that since this was our second visit to the resort they upgraded us to the Jr. suites. Thinking this was a nice gesture we accepted and unfortunately things went downhill from there. When we arrived at the room it was very outdated and the floors and bathroom was dirty. We went back to the front desk asking for a standard room fearing all of the Jr. suites would be the same. Of course none were available which explains why were upgraded. They said that we would have to wait until the following day at 3pm to change our room. We agreed however did ask for a room with a stand-up shower. The next day at 3pm we go to the front desk and they gave us the new keys. We walk back to the room and it was filthy, they hadn't finished cleaning the room after the last guest checked out and also it didn't have a stand-up shower. We walk back to the front desk and after a long discussion get to speak to the manager who tells us a new room will be available after 5pm. Go back at 5pm and finally after the third try get the room that we requested. Food is largely catered to their main demographic of guests which is European. It was quite bland and boring, since there are minimal changes to the menu throughout the week. Since staff are clearly biased to favor their main customer base, expect longer wait times and poor service even if you tip in comparison to their core demographic. They also appeared to be severely understaffed most notably in their transport team (cart service) since we were there for a wedding we relied heavily on the carts to move around from resort to resort however wait times exceeded 30 minutes at times. This was ridiculous considering the wedding party was under time constraints. It also resulted in a horrible incident where one of the wedding guests needed to get back to their room to take their medication however due to the wait time ended up having to go to the hospital because their situation had progressed to a dangerous state. Overall would not be going back to any Iberostar resorts and probably won't be traveling to the Dominican again.

The resort is beautiful, well kept gardens, absolutely beautiful grounds. The rooms are spacious and comfortable while the food at the resort was pretty good, myself and my family only eats seafood but they were a lot of meat options for people who are meat eaters. The people who work there are amazing so friendly they totally makes this resort 5 star.

What can I say about this place. Normally I write a novel however this time I won't. The food was plentiful, and beach was immaculate. Service was amazing too! We would go back and book again. Israel our guest service Rep hooked us up. We got champagne 2 times, we were celebrating my husband's 40th birthday. Room: we stayed in the spa junior suite the room was always super clean no issues at all with toilet or water pressure, ac worked fine fridge always stocked and fresh towels lots of towels! The drinks always full of alcohol, not cheap at all on the booze. They have your typical vodka cran, you can get mudslides, gin N tonic and more delicious! Some days the lounge chairs at the beach were sparce, but we always managed to get a spot.

Here is our breakdown of our trip to Iberostar Dominicana, Punta Cana. Room: We requested both with our agent and the hotel itself a room on a upper floor, which we received, and something fairly close to the ocean, which we did not even come close to receiving as we received a room overlooking the reception lobby, gym and Spa. Noisy and very unhappy for the $2000 spent each (x2 people). When we went back to reception after seeing our location, after much heated discussion the head at reception finally moved us from building 3793 to 3893, which was immensely better and for this we were grateful...at least we could see the ocean even though not right on the ocean. They originally wanted us to pay an additional $60 US/night/person for this room but finally said “for no extra charge”. Reception and Guest Services: Nice people who when advised of issues did handle them in a timely manner and also were good about following up. Food: The food was average and nothing special. Very repetitious even though write up on the resort said variety on a daily basis. Line-ups were long and took forever to get through. Ordered a glass of white wine and got a Coke, which I do not even drink. Bars: Probably the best service on a resort. Bartenders rotated service on a regular basis so you never had to wait too long. Much friendlier in the lobby bars as opposed to the beach bars. Entertainment: The Iberostar Punta Cana (IPC) and Dominicana (ID) both had nice nightly entertainment. The staff were friendly and provided a happy environment. The Star Band was very good at IPC and the live shows at ID were good as well. No complaints in this area. On resort survey: Very poorly done. This was the ONLY day that anybody in the resort volunteered extra customer service (offered to drive you anywhere all day long) and main buffets cared about handling their clients. While I was trying to complete the resort survey, I was interrupted at least 5 times by someone telling me to give them a good review. The manager/supervisor did so much as to stand at my table and read my review and while I turned it over he asked me what I was hiding and was I giving him a bad review. Unbelievable. The next day the service went back to what it was before “survey day” and nobody volunteered drives or cared about your happiness in the buffet restaurants. So blatantly obvious. Size: The resort is HUGE and far too busy for us. We never could get a seat at the poolside and fortunately they put down more umbrellas at the beach so we were able to get seats there on a daily basis. Recommendation: I would never return to this resort. More $$$ does not mean better value for the money. Our previous experience at Iberostar Costa Dorado in Puerto Plata was fantastic value for money (about $500 per person cheaper) but definitely not this Iberostar resort. Iberostar Costa Dorado was far less money per person + we got an ocean view room, which faced directly onto the ocean!!!

This was our second year in a row at the Dominca, 9th time with Iberostar. Upon arrival we asked to change rooms as our room was located facing a thatch roof to one of the restaurants and was extremely noisy. Reception told us they would be move us the next day as no rooms were available at the time. The next day, the room we were to be moved to had a problem with the air conditioner, and we had to wait another day. They did offer to move us to a junior suite, with double beds which was not acceptable to us. They did move us to a nicer room on day two. The frustrating part was it took a fair amount of time spent in the lobby with reception instead of enjoying the weather and sitting at the beach. The one comment I did not appreciate from the front desk staff was them saying 'you get what you pay for' in reference to the first room we were put in. I thought all the standard rooms were the same price when we booked with trip central. The food was what we expected, maybe even a bit better overall than last year. The beach is the main attraction for us and this resort has ample beach front. White sand, no rocks and you can walk for miles. We found that the staff sometimes went too far with the afternoon activities at the pool and basically would force people into participating in their games, going as far as restraining people who wanted to opt out. I know my wife didn't appreciate being forced into their bikini contest. The nightly entertainment is typical for a resort, some nights decent, some nights no so good. We did find that the staff were less attentive this year than last year, and overall are not as friendly as staff in other countries in the Caribbean. The grounds are fairly well kept. We will return to Punta Cana, but might try one of the other Iberostar resorts the next time around.

We very much enjoyed our first time to Punta Cana. Our travel agent Sally was very helpful. The staff at the hotel were friendly. Some of the negatives were 1. We were not made aware of the $20.00 each to leave. 2. There was no real designated smoking area which resulted in cigarette and cigar smoke everywhere. 3. The hotel keys were constantly malfunctioning. 4. The room was clean but continuously smelled of dampness and sewage oder. 5. The venders allowed on main hotel property were harassing.

Our vacation at the Iberostar Dominicana went smoothly from start to finish. The bus ride from the airport was very quick and check in was even quicker. The rooms felt damp, but we did not complain or ask to change location. The beach is stunning and not as busy as the many other resorts located along this strip. The food was way better than we had expected. Steaks were thick, cooked perfectly and were delicious. All the a la Carte restaurants were fabulous and the service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely be back.

The grounds and lobby area are nice. We took a room upgrade to be located closer to the beach for US$200 extra. We finally got reimbursed, as it truly was NOT an upgrade. When we arrived in the room, the air conditioning was not working, the room is small, the lighting is bad, no exhaust in bathroom. However, beds comfortable. As for the dining, we are only allowed three à la carte restaurants for a 7-day stay. Buffet food very ordinary. I would not choose this resort for a future holiday...

Went for 8 days beginning of December, had a great time! We had a 4 year old and a baby and all had plenty to do and eat. The Food: was fantastic, we stuck to the buffet and beach restaurants and didn't want to make any dinner reservations. Had plenty to eat, from seafood to stews to pizzas and vegetables. Nothing looked stale. There were never line ups either. The room: we had a king bed and a sofabed for our kid. They offered us a crib for the baby but we had brought our own. We recommend room 4053 in building 4. It was quiet at night away from the hustle and bustle as well as close to the beach. Daily cleaning was thorough and left us plenty of water bottles and towels and beautiful decorations on the bed. It had a sunk in bathtub. Lovely decor and modern washroom. The pools: are large, never felt over crowded. People seem to wake up early and reserve seats at the beach and pool but it wasn't the fault of the resort. It was tough to find seats in the shade after 10 am. They have a shallow kids pool too which was nice. For kids: The kids club ladies are sweet. The playground and toys are a bit run down but the ladies working there try to make up for it with activities and singing and face painting. The same ladies also run the evening kids entertainment which is 8 pm to 9pm. That was my daughters highlight of the day! She loved the dancing and singing and they even brought out bouncy castle on some nights. We found out halfway through our trip from one of the employees that we can actually visit the neighbouring resort that had a huge beautiful watwr park for kids! It was a 5 min walk from building 4 and you'd have to cut through past the street with all the markets. There is so much water splashing and a giant bucket dumping water that your kid will definitely need to be comfortable with water. My year old was too scared but I can see her going in 2 years down the road :) Night entertainment (for adults): it was fun. Entertaining and on some nights really funny. They did couples contests that were definitely not appropriate for kids. Daytime entertainment: we didn't partake as much as I'd liked because we had to stay with the kids, but when we did get away we joined the dancing lessons and pool exercises and bingo. The entertainment team is fantastic, very joyful to be around. Front desk: no issues checking in. We were aware that check in is at 3 pm and we arrived at 1, but they were kind and accommodating in finding us rooms that suited what we needed. They gave us bracelets, sent us for lunch and kept our luggage, and when we got back our room was ready by 2pm :) Beach: sand was amazing. Water was warm. It was never clear or calm but it was fun to swim in. No seashells anywhere though :( just smooth sand everywhere. Again you'll have to get up early as people seem to reserve seats. The resort clearly has signs telling not to do that but people do anyway. The occasional person comes by to sell an excursion but they are very nice and respectful and appreciate your respect back when declining. Accessibility: we were amazed with the accessibility of this resort! We were able to push the stroller everywhere! There are ramps everywhere there were stairs. Even on the beach! They have a boardwalk that takes you through to the umbrellas and chairs half the way down the sand. Staff: all were super friendly whether you tipped or not. Tips are appreciated but not mandatory For families? Absolutely, there are kids EVERYWHERE and the resort is accepting of loud laughter and play. For couples? no way... they'd be annoyed at how loud and active kids get, it's definitely a family resort and that's why we loved it! Make sure you visit the pond with the flamingos close to the entertainment stage, they are lovely :)

Myself and my two sisters just returned from spending a week in Punta Cana at the Iberostar Dominicana. We had an awesome time. The staff were wonderful. Food was great. The pool and beach was amazing, lots of chairs and space for everyone. We enjoyed our vacation and look forward to going back one day.

Our trip to (Apr05/17) to Iberostar Dominicana was really good. The Puntacana airport is busy and is not wheel chair friendly. The resort is completely wheel chair friendly. There are 4 elevators and you can go to the beach by wheel chair. Also you can walk from beach to your room by bare feet. Beach is well maintained white sand and any body can go in to water. Rooms are big and comfortable. No problem with AC or hot water. The resort is big yet you can walk to the beach, your room and the lobby. Good selection of food with lots of fruits ,bread, meat and veggis. The beach restaurant is also good. the drinks are average. Entertainment is a waste of time except the Michael Jackson show. Iberostar Dominicana and Iberostar Puntacana are side by side, you can choose any one. We will go back again.

The resort is fantastic. The grounds are clean, the beach is amazing, the gym is awesome (the amount of equipment is incredible for a resort and the fact that they had group classes is almost unheard of), the food was good, and the service (front desk, house keeping, dining areas) was second to none (other than one morning where service was slow). Everyone was very friendly and the staff were able to speak English very well making things easier when I had questions. The room was clean and didn't smell musty at all. I plan on going back next year. The trip was awesome.

Great rooms, great landscaping, great beach, excellent food, excellent service and staff but.. unless you are a quiet couple who fluently speak spanish, like to only dance the salsa (no american music at all) and make (only) spanish couple friends, this place is for you! I've been to many resorts but never ever encountered such a small french and english community. Animation and pools are also average compared to the competition (poor night shows and no inpool bar). The foam party though was fun, sailing excellent and the staff very professional. Too quiet for my taste.

Overall the days we spent at this resort were quiet and restful. We had one day when the hot water was interrupted, but it was repaired by the next day. If you sign up to look over their time share options, be aware that it will take 4 hours out of your day, not the 1 hour they promise when you sign up. The worst part of the food was the bacon. It was terrible. Other than that the food was relatively good. If you are looking to go to a specialty restaurant, sign up for the steak house and the french restaurant ... they are the best by far. The rules state men have to have long pants at the specialty restaurants, but this is not true. The only one that enforces long pants is the french restaurant and steak house.. Everyone wore shorts at all the others. At the on site drug store you can buy 8 Viagra pills for $45 US over the counter.

The rooms were clean and beautiful, food was wonderful beach was amazing... and the staff were soooooo friendly. The shows an nig were very entertaining...I will be back to th wonderful resort. Lov it!

This is our second time at this resort and it didn't disappoint. With activities both day and night it is hard to get bored - everything from sports, to shows, to kids games we were kept very busy! The beach was well maintained, and food very good - lots of choice and many restaurants to choose from.

Not 1 bad experience. The staff bend over backwards to keep you happy. They work so darn hard. Hotel was much larger than we anticipated. Lots of activities to keep you busy, plus a great show in the evening. They did the Lion King on our last night. Yes we would go back.

The beach at this resort is phenomenal, beautiful water and soft sand everywhere, also plenty of room to lay in the sun without being crowded. The staff were all very accommodating and friendly! The only small complaint was the food wasn't the best, and the a la carts were a little underwhelming. That being said the food was most certainly very edible and plentiful.

Iberostar Dominicana and Puntacana are the same.Choose which one is better price. Check in /out very fast. Staff are friendly.The WestJet tour rep more intrested in selling tour pakages than explaning other things.The tours are very expensive,most are over $100 US p/p. We stayed in bungalo type suite and it was very good. The site has beautiful landscape and well maintained. Walking around the site is very enjoyable.Beach is very nice .No water shoe required. The waves are bit high and the water is slightly deep, so if you are not a swimmer, you may not enjoy that much.Food is ok. If you are a vegetarian, you are stuck with pastas every day. Would be nice more veg dishes available. Most staff don't speak or understand very basic English.This is a big draw back for Canadian,USA/European tourists. If the price is right, I wil go back again since I spent all my time in the beach.

I took my boyfriend to celebrate his 30th birthday and we had a wonderful time! The staff was great, the resort was clean and the food, especially at the a la carte restaurants, was fantastic! We will be returning soon!

This was a beautiful resort, the grounds were gorgeous. Well maintained rooms with a balcony. The staff were exceptional. Every wish was their pleasure to provide for us. We travelled as a group of 5 woman. We felt safe, the staff took exceptional care of us. The food was excellent. Lobster and grilled lamb at lunches. Breakfasts were everything you could wish for. Dinners awesome as well. The nightly shows were fun. The staff were always happy and dancing and ready to make you laugh. We were even lucky in the casino!! I highly recommend this resort. Jose and Maria were lots of fun....and Chocolate...what can I say....excellent dancer. Thanks everyone. We will see you again...soon. Kathy from Canada.

I have been here 3 times in the last 2 years. The last time I was there the dishes were dirty and the bed linens were always damp. They are saving on energy costs. I don,t think I will go back. Lovely beach.

We stayed at the Iberostar Dominicana from May 28 - June 7. We absolutely loved this resort and will go back. The service was great and the resort is very clean. Our room was nothing fancy but clean and fresh everyday. We loved everything about this resort and look forward to going back.

The grounds were very nicely kept. The pool and beach were incredible. It was always a tough choice to make..go to the pool? or go to the beach? The entertainment was amazingly well done, but it was all in Spanish. The rooms were dated, but comfortable and clean. All in all, it was a great place to go to do nothing :)

We were two family's who went to this resort in April of 2013. We have been to several 4 and 5 star resorts over the years and this 4 star resort is no better or no worse than most 4 stars. As with most resorts in the Punta Cana area the staff were great and the beach and pool were beautiful. The buffets which are open air were good as well but as usual we found the buffet format tiring by day 6. This is a busy resort so the towel game is definitely in play here. The only gripe I would have is the beach buffet in that it was really busy between 12 and 2 pm so if you want a seat for lunch avoid those times. The sister resorts beach buffet is smaller but we had no problem getting a seat at noon over there. If you are reading reviews on this resort and you are finding bad ones ignore them. As in most reviews of the better resorts there is always something to complain about but this is a resort you cant go wrong .
