We have nothing bad to say about this resort. Food was quite good and the service was very good. Staff is second to non with drink service throughout the pool and beach areas. Our room was kept very clean and well stocked.

We have been going to this resort since 2009 , this being our 8th visit . We were sad to learn it is no longer family owned and now belongs to corporate, and you can definitely tell! The Al a carte restaurants are down to 2 from 5 , poor food quality and choice compared to the past ! The tiles are broken in the pools etc , the furniture ( fridges, dressers, couches etc) have been removed from the rooms . The gardens are not maintained as they once were ! Used to be amazing and now average

The Friendly Fun Vallarta is a smaller resort with not too much walking required to get from your room to the buffet or pool - perfect for me with a bad knee. I had the very best room that I have ever had at any Caribbean/Mexican resort. It was very clean, had daily maid service, was spacious and had a direct view of the ocean. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The beach was very nice, gentle waves right in front of the hotel, bigger waves further along the beach. Pools and hot tub were great. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is on a beautiful main street just 10 minutes from the airport and close to a very large indoor mall with a large grocery store. The lobby had a nice coffee shop and bar and they played the hockey games for us Canadians. It was filled with a cool breeze all day. Weather was perfect. If I had two complaints, I would ask for more lactose free food options and more shade on the beach. The beach loungers were crowded so close together that you couldn't put a leg in between them. Great pool side and beach service. All in all we had a great time and for the money, it was extremely good value. One more thing - I felt completely safe on the resort and walking down the main street.

This is our fifth time at this resort. Each time there is something new. Its an older resort but it is kept up and very clean. Because the resort is on the smaller side, you get to know the Friendly staff. The food is good and the location right on the beach is perfect.

The grounds staff, room staff, front desk staff and restaurant staff were all amazing. Incredibly friendly and helpful. ? The grounds were kept spotless. ???? The hotel rooms were spacious, spotless, cleaned daily and offered an amazing oceanview from the balcony. The beach area was nice but we were not able to swim in the ocean due to strong currents, and warnings of dangerous animals such as scorpions, jelly fish and crocodiles. So everyone just used the pools and hot tubs. Some of the specialty restaurants were closed, one for the entire vacation and another open from time to time only. The food (buffet style) rarely changed and was basically the same every day in all 3 buffet locations. Entertainment….one night there was an hour-long 12-person Mariachi band and they were incredible. They could have played 3 hours and attracted a massive audience. Other evenings the entertainment was rather bland…..loud dance music aimed at a younger crowd despite the fact that the hotel guests were mostly in their 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. The one disappointing daily complaint was the ongoing extremely loud music that blared from numerous loudspeakers every day from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. You couldn’t get away from it. It was mostly Latin and Salsa music, not music most guests were familiar with. And it was so loud that enjoying nice conversations with anyone was often impossible unless you were shouting. Several people asked that the music level be turned down but those requests were totally ignored. For all the friendliness and kindness shown by the staff members, the overall rating was for this resort is just average due to the lack of variety in cuisine and the ongoing loud music that didn’t stop until 11 p.m.

We had a great time. Accommodations were perfect, amenities were very well used by all & food was excellent. Great location for getting around. Only downside was the volume of the music played by the pool, everyone yelling & no one could hear each other, most over heard was WHAT. Other than that great vacation!

Wonderful vacation with family of 8! Resort was everything you would want for a holiday. Food was delicious and plentiful. Hotel was spotless. Staff were always cleaning something. Rooms were superb!

The resort was nice, rooms good, stocked the mini fridge every day, buffets were very good, Clean facilities, lovely staff . There are 3 pools, kiddie adult, youth & adult, then adult only with a fully stocked bar & appitizer kitchen, which was wonderful. The entertainmant was basically NONE EXISTING. They had beach volleyball but needed a resort staffer to call people in to organize it. . There were in 8 days , 6 weddings on the resort beach area ....which left no space for entertainment because the wedding music and entertainment music would have clashed. They prefer you stay on the resort but threre is nothing to do there. We have been there approx 8 times in 20 years and resort/entertainment has been declining. In conclusion, I would recomend this resort if all you wanted to do was, eat ,drink & lay around all day, again boring.

We really enjoyed our stay at Friendly Fun Vallarta. The general vibe of the place is quite relaxed and pleasant, perfect to rest and recharge away from the Canadian winter. It is very conveniently located on the beach within a 40 minute walk to the Malacon and a 20 minute walk to the Port. The public areas were clean and bright, staff were very courteous and efficient. We found the food quality and selection to be quite good at both the buffet and a la carte restaurants. Pools were beautiful. Rooms were spacious and clean but a bit dated. Beds were comfortable with great pillows. Good pressure and lots of hot water in the shower. There were, however, a few things that were mildly inconvenient. First, in a room with 2 queen sized beds, there was only one bedside table between the two, while my husband and I each had glasses, phones, books, and other accessories that would have been much more convenient if they were located on tables on each side of the bed. We also ended up leaving our suitcases lying open on the second bed as there were no drawers, cabinets or places to put our clothing in the room other than on the coat hangers in the closet. We also found it odd that there were both a table and a desk in the room but only a single chair despite the occupancy of the room being up to 4 adults. These things aside, we had a wonderful week exploring the city and enjoying perfect weather and would not hesitate to plan a return visit to Friendly Fun Vallarta for another stay in the future.

This was our 4th time in Puerto Vallarta and 4th time at this resort. We wouldn't even think of staying anywhere else. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to help you have a great time! We spent most of our time in the adult only area which was perfect for us. This is a smaller, quieter resort. If you are looking for lots of party-like events, The Friendly Fun is not for you.

The hotel is a very good place for couples and families. We were amazed how polite and respectful their staffs were. A true name “FUN”and really “FRIENDLY”. I would definitely go back to this place.

Excellent service and very nice and polite staffs. Nice pools and beaches. Best place for families with kids. We had a wonderful time there. Rooms are not luxury but comfortable and good for the price.

We were last at The Friendly 14 years ago. It's improved a lot with new pools, new restaurants and new loungers. Food is still good and the staff is fantastic. Will definately go back soon! If you would like a clean, a little dated, awesome staff and location...this place is for you!!

We really like this resort. Food is good with excellent selection and quality. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are typically hard Mexican quality. Tennis court is in good shape with afternoon shade.

Have been there 6 times, this last time was with new management. Beds replaced many loungers which left many people without a place to lounge . Need more of assortment of genres of music. Activity board, we were there 14 days & never saw an activity board until the last 2 days. Food was warm at best at La Palmar Buffet. Lacking activities, during day and night entertainment. Had to redo our Door key/ Pass key 6 times. Mirror in bathroom only. Bar fridge , we had to call everyday to get it refilled. Everyone had trouble with their TV . A smart notice would appear / disappear approx. every 2 minutes. Frustrating. Many other guests had the same complaints.

Hotel was ok for what we paid for! We had a great time. Food wasn't great tho staff frendly...DJ blasts electronic music non stop for most of the afternoon. Nightlife non existent. This is a family resort

Although the hotel is older we were very comfortable. The service was great! We especially enjoyed using the adult section which consisted of an adult area bar with food availability, pool, hot tub and beach area! The beach was great and you could walk long distances. The food was very good and the service was always quick and friendly! The standard room did not have a bar fridge and the shower pressure was inconsistent when using hot water. We really enjoyed the guest musicians, the guitar , trumpet and saxophone. The music at the pool area was sometimes too loud and the chairs were difficult to find and were not comfortable. The outside beds were comfortable if you were fortunate enough to find one that was available. No other entertainment to speak of in the evening although they did have a DJ and dancing at the beach every night. We were surprised to meet so many Canadians at this Resort ! It was nice getting to meet and chat with other people, many of them repeat visitors. We enjoyed our vacation but most of all the adult section of this hotel was a real plus for us! We booked this trip with Sandra Taylor from Tripcentral.ca. She was very knowledgeable and did a great job for us. Would not hesitate using Sandra again.

The hotel was really nice. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food was really good. My only complaint is that they should have more staff that speak English and advertise their activities better. Also not much entertainment at night as advertised. The room was very clean. I would have liked a coffee maker in the room. Overall it was a very lovely and enjoyable resort and would return there.

The hotel was good and the staff were great but the hotel booked a company seminar that put up to 4 adults in a room. We were told there were 1000 people in the group for a hotel with 270 rooms. The good thing is they were out all day. In the morning they overloaded the breakfast buffets until 8am so if you wanted breakfast at this time you lined up for it. We went after they left for the day but by then the buffets would be out of things like bacon and one morning bread. This should not happen. In addition they closed the al a carte restaurants, I guess due to the crowds they could only feed this number buffet style so we had to endure buffet dining all week. The food was OK but Similar every night. They did have a taco only restaurant buffet restaurant but with tacos being offered at the other buffets for lunch and dinner I really didn’t see the purpose other than to feed the large crowds. The lobby at night was packed and turned into a frat party wth these seminar guests chugging tequila out of bottles bought at the local store, so I think not all of the company seminar group did had bar access. They also brought cases of beer to the beach after the day time seminars ended. As for coved policies we had to sign a waiver that we would wear a mask in common places but this was not enforced at all and only a few people in the large company seminar group wore one. We left the lobby early every evening as we did not feel comfortable/safe with the large groups of people. In addition all the services were overwhelmed at night. The very good coffee bar was a 30 min line up at night.

The Friendly Vallarta was everything the name implies. All staff were more than willing to assist in all of my needs. The food, location and the size of the resort was much better than anticipated. A very private oasis but outside within walking distance to the stores and restaurants. I will defiantly go back. Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Amazing staff, food and one of the cleanest resorts you'll ever come across. Smaller in size but big on customer service. Lots of fun activities for all ages. Almost all rooms are ocean view as long as you get a higher floor. All 3 buildings have their own elevators. Some ground floor rooms are wheelchair accessible with ramps going up to the sliding terrace doors. They are constantly cleaning everything. Never had as much as a mosquito bite! We needed a fridge in our room for meds and they came through for us. The only thing I would change is the Japanese restaurant: open it for supper & change it to tapanaki style. The Azul ala carte needs better furniture ie: more comfortable chairs and dressier linens.

Friendly Vallarta is a nice, conveniently located all-inclusive resort close to Walmart and downtown PV. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and the resort is exceptionally clean. We stayed in a room on the north side and on the second floor and it was large and clean. Beds are comfortable and the room faced the next door resort building so it was very quiet. That's a big deal because this resort is very noisy. There are speakers blasting on the beach, pool area and in the lobby. I found it a bit tiring when you wanted a quiet place just to talk and relax. The beach area is very nice and we didn't have too much trouble getting lounge chairs but we were there in May so the off season is beginning. One problem is that the resort could invest in more umbrellas. The adult pool area could easily use twice as many umbrellas. The Azul and Frita restaurants served great food and highly recommend them but the buffets were so so. They had difficulty getting or keeping food hot. If you eat at the buffets ensure you arrive early because they shut down at 10 pm without exception, even if people are lined up for a table. One buffet server lost her ladle as she was trying to serve me food when another worker started cleaning up her area at 10. If you like your beer they serve 2 types of Corona beer but not in bottles. The drink servers were great and tried to make any type of drink you wanted. Overall we recommend the FV and can say we enjoyed the week we were there.

The best things about this resort: - the staff are all very anxious to ensure everything is good and that you are happy. Any issues are taken care of immediately. - everything from the rooms, to the public areas, to the pools and the beach, are kept very clean. - location is great (right on the beach, close to airport, downtown and other areas). - the food in the 'reserved' restaurants was excellent. - staff ensure rules are maintained (i.e. adults only in the adult pool). Areas that could use improvement: - information was inconsistent and confusing - regarding resort activities (reservations were required, then not required, start time was 8:30 pm, 6:00, 7:00 and finally 7:30 pm., etc.), and restaurant names were different in the brochures we were given. - the food menu did change slightly in the 'open' restaurants, however, most items were always the same.

We all have a very good time at the Friendly Puerto Vallarta .The staff was very friendly and any thing you wanted or needed they where very happy to help you .I would recommend this resort to anyone .

This resort was great. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Rooms were well appointed, clean and well maintained. Food and beverage choices and quality were in keeping with the 4 star experience. The only frustration was trying to change currency and lost and found inquiry, had me running in circles.

Everything was great Great food, great service, clean rooms, very friendly staff. Loved the activities and live entertainment. This was my first time here and I would definitely come back and invite all my friends.

Friendly Vallarta is as its name depicts, staff are helpful and go out of their to accommodate the guests. There have been several changes, a designated smoking area on the beach, you are not to claim a lounge chair all day, and addition of restaurant as well as a snack bar. The hotel has an older customer base probably due to repeat stays. Entertainment is offered each night at the theatre which is a bonus if you do not want to go to town for night activities. We could not find a tour group to accept the voucher offered by Tripcentral, I am not sure where the indicated tour groups are located in PV.

We have been to this resort 3 times and the name fits this resort to a T. The staff are amazing. Food is very good and there is always something to do for everyone What makes it unique is the staff who actually care about you and actually remember you.

We were assigned a room with no balcony and looking out the window with a building wall. They said it is nice and quiet here. So we went to the front desk and were told if you want an ocean view you have to pay more per day. I paid $1500 for one week and they want more money. It's only a 3 star hotel. Will definitely not be back. They give you the worst room so you can pay more for an upgrade. Must say people working at the resort are very nice. We ended up with a room that has a balcony with a big palm tree in front of it but at least can open the doors for fresh air.

We have been to this resort at least 5 times previously and always had a great experience. This time however it was NOT great. The hotel is undergoing construction and the beach restaurant is being rebuilt. The result was that the resort has one less restaurant at present. When we arrived on Wednesday in the afternoon the other two restaurants were closed for dinner and the only one open was on the mezzanine level and you needed to sit through a program in order to eat. There were bright construction lights shinning directly at our windows making it difficult to sleep. There was constant construction noise during the day as well. With the beachfront restaurant closed, the previous most enjoyable evening dining on the beach was cancelled. Our room had a water leak from the bathtub and so after showers the floor was extremely slippery. The staff were very friendly and outgoing. Unfortunately we will most likely not go back to that resort given this latest experience.

Hotel was nice location on the hotel zone. Walking distance from shopping,dining, nice beach etc. also bus and taxis very easy to get. Our room was basic but very clean and comfy, no fridge, bar etc. They did ask us if we would like to upgrade for $35US per night, we declined as we don't spend much time in our room. Also required us to give credit card for 1000 pecos for damages which we would get back when we left. Hotel food was pretty good for the most part we found out that if you ask for things they amazingly appear like bacon, good guacamole etc. Very friendly staff, pools were very warm. Staff will bring you a chair, umbrella or table and place it where you like on the beach which was nice. Lots of activities to do at the resort. Must have been the time of year we went (just after Easter) lots of local families on vacation there. Lots of kids in pool until late at night. Luckily there was an adult pool. Met lots of Canadians. Not a quiet resort often loud music thumping and often two conflicting speakers. Overall, I still think it was good value for the money and we would return in the future.

I had an amazing time at the Friendly Vallarta, they had very great food and entertainment. Rene is a very hard working and friendly beach attendant. I have now stayed there 6 times and looking forward to February 2019!

Reasonable and satisfactory. Rate it fair. Food is ok. Enjoyed evening entertainment. Location is great. Rooms are clean. Bathrooms seem old and in need of updating. Furniture in rooms are dirty.

The employees were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The grounds and the pools were kept in very good shape. The dining and meals were very good. The shows and activities were very entertaining. We had a wonderful experience.

We had an amazing stay at the resort. The staff was amazing, the grounds were beautiful. The food ahhh so yummy. Lots of activities, we brought my 90 year old grandmother and she also loved it. Can't wait to go back❤❤❤

This was my second stay and everything was as good as the first time Great staff, very clean and food were all great. I found no negatives about this resort. Would go back again. Definetely would recommend to friends.

Had a great week. We were a little worried when we found 3 teams of young soccer players staying there but they were all so well behaved it was a pleasure to see them having fun at the resort. We had our first trip there in January 2017 and decided to go again in November. After going to many resorts in different countries we were surprised at how many people we ran into that bragged about the number of times they have been to Friendly Vallarta..5, 10 and even 18 times. The food is great, and there's always something special going on around the resort. The resort definitely lives up to its name 'friendly'. The staff are always helpful & smiling an go the extra mile. We had a few issues with our room and they had them all resolved the day after we arrived. Don't expect a five star resort, but if you want comfortable with 5 star attitude this is the place to stay!

This is our fifth time to Friendly and we are never disappointed! As they say "welcome home " This is our first time going in September which was a different experience. The town is quieter and the weather is very hot! We were so glad to have that beautiful new adult pool ! It has that huge hot tub and long pool for swimming! All the staff want you to relax and enjoy ! One day for instance I was at the beach restaurant and asked for guacamole well Double Double heard me and said he would go and get it for me ! He told me to go back to the pool and he'd bring it and sure enough he did ! I love the coffee bar , my favs are frozen coffees and espresso is to die for. All our meals were delicious with a great variety. It certainly is the time for fresh pineapple, I have never tasted fruit like that before. All the staff from waiters to cleaners are warm,lovely people. We did notice not as many activities but that is to be expected, they was always something going on ,you could be as busy or as relaxed as you wanted ! Again thank you friendly for all your smiles and service , can't wait to come home again !

The name of the resort says it all...Friendly! Every where you turn people were smiling , joking with the vacationers, giving hugs on hellos and goodbyes. They like to talk to you, to find out about where you are from, about your family. They will also tell you about their lives too. They workers at the Friendly are what makes that hotel nice to stay at. The building itself is older but is always clean. As the day goes on you are always seeing someone cleaning. There is no litter anywhere. They wash the pool deck late at night and again early in the morning. The food was limited in variety but what was supplied it was very good. Food service was offered on the beach same as drinks and once again the empty plates and drinking glasses were removed immediately. The water pressure in shower was very limited and sometimes would be either very hot or very cold. There was only one chair in the room, we did ask for another but unfortunately never got one which meant one of us was always lying on the bed to watch TV or read.

Smaller Resort that included friendly staff and great food. Wouldn't recommend the spa but otherwise it was an overall great stay. We'd hoped for a slightly more progressive entry beach but it was still very clean and well kept. Very family friendly with lots of things to do.

We liked very mach but we wish you would have more fruit available other wise we love that, staff was a massing very friendly and was very clean we wood be back any time . This is our third time in this resort and we like the city and locations

The staff working at the resort are very friendly. We liked the heated pool and the hot tubs, they were kept very clean. You do have to reserve a chair before 7 am around the pool. The room was very clean and facing the ocean. The food was so so. Almost every day they had nice size shrimp for buffet. We had hamburger one day at the grill by the beach and it was cold and dry and the bun was dry. Never tried it again. The pizza was awesome with a thin crust. Tried the Ranchero Grill first time the beef was good the next time it was so tough could not cut it even. It would be nice to have some days nice steaks. All in all there was a variety to choice from. The resort is well located close to everything. One of the nicest hotel we have been to. Definitely will be back!!!!!

Very clean everywhere,Food was very good with a good selection. All staff were very friendly and lived up to the name. Had no downfalls that all three of us could find. Would go back again. Had lots of entertainment.

We were very happy with our stay. There were a couple minor things like being told we had a king bed but found it was two beds pushed together. We didn't get a fridge in our room either. Those were our only complaints and they are pretty minor. Beach was awesome, food was great and the staff were fantastic. We would definitely come back! The location was a huge bonus as well, within walking distance of lots of shopping and resturants.

Clean resort and the staff is friendly who will go out of their way to try and solve any issue you may have. Lots of Canadians stay at this hotel and lots of regulars. My only cautions is that this is not a hotel for young singles as the crowd is mainly adults 50+ and some families. It can be difficult to find a chair at the public beach by the hotel.

Friendly is a small resort in the heart of the hotel zone in Puerto Vallarta. The staff quickly becomes family-especially "Double Double" (Sergio) who served us in so many areas of the hotel (waiter at breakfast, lunch & supper and beach drink service). It's easy to feel like you are at your second home here! There were only two drawbacks that I need to mention: very uncomfortable lobby seating and continual construction noise. I assume the new pool will be ready to go soon but the couches and chairs in the lobby desperately need to be updated! All in all, we spent a good 8 days at Friendly!

This resort would definitely be on the top of my list to use on my next trip to pv. The best food as far as all inclusive resorts I have ever been to and I have 22 others to compare my opinion on. Just the reg buffet and snack bar took away any reason for me to need the a la cart. The staff are on the ball respectfull pleasent and very helpfull But the only negative I can say about the resort is they are not very smoker friendly, I vape but it's treated just like smoking, so a small area in the lawnchair area and out front of the hotel before the reception area and on your balcony. No other public areas so if you were partying by the pool and wanted a dart you had to go out of your way to do that. Again not the end of the world, but not the first resort to go this way and won't be the last. But otherwise definitely a very good expirience.

This was the second time travelling to Friendly Vallarta, Puerto Vallarta Mexico and the resort is still an outstanding spot to go to relax, have great service and feel like you are at your home away from home. The resort is located a few minutes from the airport, so within an hour we had deplaned, got our luggage, boarded the Sunwing bus and arrived at our hotel after dropping off at two other hotels, not bad at all. The staff at Friendly go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable, special shout out to Sergio (Double Double), you made me laugh everyday, the service you provided at breakfast and then out on the beach in the afternoon was second to none. The beach is a little rough most days and the undertow can be very aggressive, so watch the little ones on the beach. The food is varied enough that you will always have something different to eat, at the beach bar they make wonderful pizza in a stone oven, or will make club sandwiches, or BLT's. There are three buffets for breakfast and two for lunch, the Ranchero, an Italian and Frieda's for dinner, as well as one buffet, all are good. The hotel has a sea turtle release program that was fascinating, each night they released hundreds of baby turtles into the sea and the hotel guests participated, very impressive that they are involved in the protection of the sea turtles! The location of the hotel makes it very easy to catch a bus into old Town and to the Malecon, both places I advise you to visit. The bus is only 15 pesos per couple to ride, can't beat the price, just go to the street and wave down a bus that has "Centro" on the window to get to Old Town and on the way back flag down a bus that has Hotels on the window, easy! Make sure you visit the Marina area, opposite way from Centro, lots of restaurants and bars and lovely boats docked in the marina. We walked from our hotel, but took about an hour, you can certainly take the bus here as well. You will pass the Walmart and Sam's club if you desire to do some shopping. Speaking of shopping a new and very large mall "La Isla" is being built just down the street from the Friendly, in front of the Grand Venetian Resort,it looks like it is going to be a high end shopping mall an it is scheduled to open in December. There is supposed to be a dolphin tank inside! All in all the Friendly is a great place to stay in the Puerto Vallarta area and is a very reasonable price as well. A lot of sites have it rated a 3.5, but I would rate it higher, it might be getting a lower rating as it does not have a swim up bar (but the guys will get you a drink at the infinity pool), plus there is not a disco, but there is great entertainment every night and dancing at the beach so who needs a disco?

2nd visit here. Service was still awesome and food pretty good. Resort caters to Mexicans. Most of the entertainment was in Spanish. Would have felt better if they translated into english. Can't take resort's beach lounge chairs onto the beach...a recent change apparently enforced by the federal government.

Was a nice resort,food was good,needed to be more informed on the resurants ,what was happening in the various locations. The entertainment could be be improved a lot. Other then that meet a lot of great people and had a lot of fun.

The 2 pools, beach, accomodations, service were all amazing. the restaurants were very good with exception of the Roof Top Restaurant, the food was warm to cool, not hot. The entertainment at nights on the beach was great.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay while in Puerto Vallerta! The staff are so hard working and wonderful to the guests that the name of the hotel rings true. The grounds, pool and beach area are immaculate and the service top-notch. From beach chair service of a tasty shrimp platter for two to the champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries surprisingly placed in our room, who could not but feel welcomed and special!

Smaller all inclusive, lobby and reception recently updated, rooms could use some attention. Staff very helpful and friendly. Some good entertainment, one night was a marachi band in the lobby area, another night was a violinist, both good. Kitchen staff put on a beautiful food display/buffet on beach. Had one odd event: upon arrival, had two bottles of water and a bag of chips in room. next day no water, Asked maid and got some. The next day no water. This is after leaving what we though was a reasonable tip in room both nights. Upped the tip amount by 10 pesos, and we started getting water. Hmmm.

We had a wonderful trip, from the flight to the resort, everything met our expectations. While the room at the resort was spacious, the bed was firmer than we like and the bathroom was in need of updating. Very clean facilities, plentiful food with menu changes frequently during the week. The staff was AMAZING and very friendly.

We just spent another fabulous at Friendly Vallarta, our fourth stay with these wonderful people. The staff at Friendly are second to none and can't seem to do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable. What was really noticeable was that it was the same staff year after year. It is not uncommon to have employees here who have been here for 20 plus years. Tells you how happy they are in their jobs! The rooms and grounds are so clean and inviting it is a credit to the staff as to how they try to make everything just right. Can't wait to get back again next year!

This was our second time to Friendly. As many before us have said, it lives up to its name! We go for the service, the small size of this resort and the food. The staff are second to none. The food for a small resort offers a lot of variety and options. Every day they're either grilling something up on the beach, or making something tasty pool side like churros. The resort is smaller and older, but they are forever maintaining and cleaning. The rooms are well kept too. My wife has a disability, and for Mexican standards the resort is well equipped for us to get around. She spends the day using her cane, but by evening she's exhausted and she travel's by wheelchair. While the ramps are a bit steep, still pretty accessible to all areas of the resort. There's often staff standing by wanting to push the wheelchair for you. Our 4 year old son spent at least a few hours every day in the Kids Club. They do a great job with children, which allows for some of that rest you were hoping to achieve when you booked your trip! ;) If I were to criticize anything, it would be the liquor. I by no means go crazy while I'm there, but I do make frequent trips to the bar in a day. It's hot...gotta cool off somehow! The drinks they make taste good (they make some great drinks for kids too) but you can tell that the alcohol they use is of a low quality. In the end I'm okay with this because it's a 3.5 Star and to give you the level of service and quality that they do in other areas, they'll have to cut a corner somewhere. Overall, you'll be hard pressed to find a better resort rated 3.5 stars. If you want small, functional and some great service, then go to Friendly! If you're looking for a party crowd, 5 star accommodations, or perfect, new and pristine rooms, then click 5 stars on the filter and pass this one over.

Lovely place. Friendly. Nice set up. Nice bonus that there was kayaks and room safe included! Everything faces the ocean. Our room was a tad musty smelling... I unloaded my clothes onto shelves, which I wouldn't do next time. We received prompt help with any concerns. Found all lost items. Room was safe. Left my computer and phone several times. Lovely staff folks and lots of activity directors. Surprised there was no late disco dancing, but there was dancing on the beach dancefloor a couple of late evenings. I went to work and got a lot done and was well fed while the 2-16 year old girls I brought played happily and safely throughout this small resort.

Older Hotel very clean all areas including rooms. Food is excellent. Staff very friendly.Sand coarse on bare feet, 8 lane highway in front of hotel, not for people who are walkers. Sea not for swimming

The staff, as always is amazing and we do enjoy their friendly manner and willingness to accommodate us...thanks. The areas we were not happy with were: - the amount of second hand smoke in the lobby on a day that we had to stay in due to the rain -the unorganized manner breakfast and supper were arranged on the rainy days, the line ups were horrendous -as we stayed at this resort many times we found this time the food select to be smaller in number however the addition of the pizza oven at the beach restaurant was nice.

We were very satisfied with our recent stay in this hotel, from the beginning till the end. From the check-in, restaurants and bars, daily activities and things to do, extremely friendly staff and generally very pleasant place to stay for family vacation. We are currently looking to book a January or February stay at this hotel. I cannot think of one negative thing to say simply because here is no reason for it.

Everthing people have said about about the hotel is true. Friendly, clean, wonderful staff. The food is another story. How could anybody say dinner buffet was good. It was completely inedible. Unrecognizable and barely warm!!! Three nights the main was spaghetti - including the Mexico Fiesta on the beach. Another night PANCAKES. Had trouble puting a salad together. The dressings were so watered down they had no flavor at all. We have stayed there before when it was Hola and the food was pretty good. Too Bad!!!! I would recommend this hotel if food isn't important, or plan to go out, which is what we did.

This resort lives up to its name. The staff are very friendly. The resort is definitely aging, bit is still comfortable and inviting. We had a beautiful 8th floor view of the ocean. The food is so so. Could be better, could be worse. I would recommend the Sunset restaurant for the fantastic breakfasts, and the snack bar for the delicious pizzas. Overall, great time and I would return.

MY HUSBAND TOOK ME ON THIS RESORT FOR MY 52 ND BIRTHDAY BOY AND I HAD A GREAT TIME! IT WAS 4 OF US THAT WENT TO THIS RESORT......... MY BIRTHDAY WAS CELEBRATED IN THE GOURMET RESTURANT AND THE GUYS THERE DID A BEAUTIFUL HAPPY BIRTHDAY DINNER TOGETHER WITH A SONG AND CAKE !(THANKS GUYS) I MUST SAY THIS RESORT WAS VERY "FRIENDLY "THE STAFF IS WONDERFUL ! THEY LISTEN TO ALL YOUR NEEDS ESPECIALLY ( DOUBLE/DOUBLE,(SERGIO) IN DINING, LORE IN THE COFFE BAR, CRISTIAN RODRIGUEZ/ LIZ BZVAJAS/PAULINE IN GUEST SERVICE . JUAN CARLOS IN DINING ......... IT'S TRULY CALLED THE FRIENDLY . EVERYONE AT THAT RESORT MADE OUR TRIP VERY MEMORABLE AND WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK TO THIS RESORT. THE ROOM WAS HOMLY THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THE WASHROOM IN THE ROOM IT WAS ALWAYS DAMP (MAYBE A FAN IN TH WASHROOM WOULD WORK) IN ALL OUR TRIP WHICH INCLUDES 4 OF US WAS GREAT! this was our second stay at this resort. However was hoping that from the last time we were there in 2014 that they would of changed the buffet. same food everyday. nothing really changed. was disappointed as well that they kicked us out of our room on day of departure early 12 noon. when our bus did not pick us up until 5 p.m. that same evening. so basically we had to hang around the resort or go downtown. when we could of relaxed in our hotel room in needed to be. I believe that to accomodate the guest. changes like this shud be in place.

Second time at this resort....love it because of the wonderful staff and location. Recommend this resort to friends and family. Quick access to town. Food and drinks plentiful...new pizza oven makes pizzeria style pizzas. Cappuccino/ coffee bar now .

We recently returned from our first stay at The Friendly Hola Vallarta. The staff were amazing! Each time you passed, they would smile. I couldn't believe how many return visitors were greeted with hugs, they truly have built long term friendships with many staff. We had asked for a specific room and when we arrived realized that it did not have enough sunshine on the deck for us. We requested a room change and in two days were thrilled with a magnificent view and plenty of sunshine! Each day a special treat was provided, fresh donuts, bbq mahi mahi and snapper and my favourite, shrimp cocktail! I couldn't believe how clean the resort was, there was constant care taken to provide a wonderful environment for us. A fabulous holiday, thanks!

The staff was friendly and work very hard to please guests, food was good could be more variety, rooms clean and good size. Amazing views and abundant of beautiful plants and flowers. Great location close to mall, shops, restaurants. Feel safe to walk out of resort and take buses or taxis to Malecon.

Still at the Friendly...been here 4 or 5 times before, son & daughter joined us this time & love it. The name speaks for itself, food great, beach the best and service better than the best. Will return again.

we will return to this resort the staff was excellent the food was very good pool and beach area also very good I also used the gym ,sauna steam hot tub area every morning it was the best part of my day . the water arobics were so fun and the best i ever have tried. the activities were always going on and i credit that staff as when they wernt trying to entertain you they were always busy doing something. cant wait to return to this resort next time we will stay at least 10 days rather then just 7

No complaints, very nice layout of the resort, enjoyed the entertainment and food was decent. Overall we were very satisfied with our first experience at Friendly resort minus the hard beds. We would definitely return the this resort.

Great place to stay, very clean and all the staff is great they are there for the guests and make it a pleasure to be there, the food was good the drinks were great. I would recomend this place. had a great time

I was not happy at all with the hotel, it is an all inclusive and there was nothing to do for adults. The bar was not even a bar and did not have anyone tending it until the evening. The was no entertainment at all in the evening. It is like a 3 star for young families as everything seems to shut down after dinner. I would not recommend this resort to anyone that wants to experience Mexico at all. There was not even a mini bar/fridge at this resort

Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable, however maid service was inconsistent as towels and cups were not replaced daily. Food was good and tasty. Definitely would recommend to others.

The Friendly Hola has become my go-to home away from home each time I visit PV. While I am sure every resort has its own something to offer......when you find what meets your needs and expectations.....why bother to keep looking! The hotel is perfectly located for walking, or short bus or taxi rides into the downtown area. Sorianas is right across the street for any of your extra purchases. The hotel is immaculately kept....one just has to make peace with the smoking in public places in Mexico! For me; the resort is the perfect size...I am not fond of the ambience of the mega-resort.......the Friendly Hola is 350 rooms or so. The food is plentiful, well prepared and the staff will go out of their way to prepare what you like....all you need to do is ask! But it is the staff that really completes the perfect picture at this resort. Review after review has gone into the exceptional personalized care each and every one of their staff members provide; and I can only support these comments!! The best way I can describe it......is when you are a guest there, you feel like you are being invited into a family......the Friendly Hola family!! Abraham...have my chair ready and waiting please!!
