We loved this hotel. The rooms were clean, staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was good especially in the a la carte restaurants. They had a very fun entertainment team and there was so much to do. Beautiful beach as well.

Nice hotel! Grounds were very nice. Rooms were clean. Beach was nice but rocky going into the water. Take water shoes. March break was busy. Getting up at 5:30 in the morning to get a Palapa for shade is not ideal. Service was mediocre. Food and drinks we’re mediocre. They were always out of something when you asked. Every drink the bartenders made they were always looking for the ingredients. Always. It was like they were doing it for the first time, every time.

The resort was very clean, food and beverages were very good. The staff was very friendly and were not pushy. House keeping was great especially Moraima. She always made sure you got what you asked for.

Hotel was great. Very busy lots to do. Food was ok. Service was hit and miss. Good one day not so good the next. Room cleaning same good one day not so good the next. Minor issues throughout the week but nothing to cry about. Overall we enjoyed every minute.

After an hour drive from airport to the hotel they made us wait to check-in our room for 4 hours! it was awful! Whenever we asked the reception desk they would asked me if I need help as I was the client has jsut arrived and they telling over and over again “wait” and they go hiding into the reception rooms.. Bad hotel

I really hate being negative but this was the most horrible all inclusive experience I’ve ever had. The buffet is not enclosed so the food goes bad really quick. But even made fresh it was the WORST food I’ve ever had. The only fruit to be seen is watermelon, pineapple and cantaloupe. The meat was more often than not raw. The rooms are poorly maintained. AC is lacking. Toilets don’t flush right. Door locks don’t work. Lights flicker everywhere. The walkways are all broken up. Impressions of the staff are mixed. My Spanish is decent however most of the staff can’t speak any English. However the big problem is that they don’t appear to have been trained on how to do their job. Politely ask for anything and it’s a crapshoot if they get around to it. Sometime you get towels when they take the dirty ones and other times you don’t. Then there’s the general customer base. If you’re European then you may fit in. North Americans, not so much. My guess is 90%+ people are from Europe. Nobody said please or thank you. Treat the staff like garbage. Smoke everywhere including buffets the theatre. Urinate in the bushes. Not the crowd I’m used to.

My overall experience was better than expected based on the negative reviews I read prior to my stay. Service: I would say that majority of the staff were quite friendly and attentive except for when we checked out very early in the morning….the service we experienced was way below par. The man serving us had no smile, no acknowledgment, no thank you for staying with Sunscape or even have a safe trip…..nothing, just a sour face! Rooms: It was a bit dated but it was clean and had everything we needed. Hotel: overall the Hotel was very nice and quite big. No elevators. Pool: Many pools including the VIP pool. My only negative is with people reserving loungers/huts by the pool/beach early in the morning when they are not physically present and that remains an issue. It is unfair to other guests who do not get the opportunity to have one. Beach: a bit rocky with a bit of seaweed however if you walk further down by the Hyatt towards Iberostar Hotel the ocean is awesome with no rocks. Entertainment: was better than expected! Every night there was some form of entertainment whether it was in the Theatre and/or “live’ music by the bar near the lobby. One night a week is a “white party” by the beach and that was a ton of fun. Also one day a week there is a “pool party” which is also very entertaining.

Hotel is still working on remodel, but our building 14 was great. Upgraded to sunclubs and were pleased. Sunclub is private adult pool, bar, and beach amazing. Could definitely use more palapas for shade!!! Buffet was awesome especially Sunclub Kaliedescope Buffet. Carmen and Anna and Domingo. Loved the Chopsticks show table, ate there 4 times. Mexican was good and Italian okay. Staff are fantastic, especially Sunclub girls, ALBA, INGRID, CHIKERA OUR BUTLER, ANIBELIS OUR BARTENDER. All were amazing. Would definitely return if prices stay reasonable.

This resort was super nice! Our room was located in a building that was right near the pool, buffet, and beach, which made it very convenient. It was only a short walk to the other restaurants or main lobby area. The beach had ample chairs and great sand! A little bit rocky in the water but still very great for swimming.

My husband and i spent a week at sunscape la ramono in the first week of February. The weather was perfect. The ocean beach clean the food amazing the drinks awesome the restaurants on site were fine dining at its best.the staff were very friendly. A lot of them spoke Spanish and french with broken English. Grounds well kept. We did know prior to booking that Hyatt was still renovating buildings, so we expected this and enjoyed ourselves. Ok this part is the negatives,….Upon arrival the room assigned to us was nice and freshly renovated but our balcony view was over an industrial kitchen with a loud fan and air conditioner. We found it too noisy when we sat on the balcony for us. The staff were wonderful and helpful upgrading us to a room in the sun club adult area not ocean view.The room was smaller and had a musty smell noisy air conditioner but a quiet balcony. Our view was looking at another building the same as ours which was under renovations. The hallway noise of the hotel echo every sound and the doors slamming open and shut was so loud! Conversations can be heard as you pass each doors. Days into our stay our bathroom had a leak in the wall causing the wall to swell with water. The staff and management quickly looked at the issue but could not fix it that day we were leaving the next day anyway. The sun club building it backed onto a construction site which could be noisy during the day. For the price point of the resort it was fine, if you don't mind workers milling about all day. Will not go back, sad to say.

Hotel is currently under going some rebuilding after a fire so there was alot of construction noise. My room was directly beside the buffet and a construction area so there was a lot of noise. One night I was woken up at 3am and kept awake until 5am. On the weekend they open the resort to locals and that really changed the overall experience. It was extremely busy and loud. So by the weekend, there was construction noise, long lines and extremely loud music. The resort staff was pleasant and room was cleaned everyday. I had been to this resort previously in 2019 and was pleased overall with my stay. Had I known there was construction taking place and there would be constant hammering, electric saw, etc… I likely would not have stayed there again. I appreciate the hotel went through the fire, then COVID and cannot shut down completely, overall it was too noisy for me.

I have not been to many all inclusives, but I am definitely walking away having an awesome experience. The food was 2nd to none. The selection was fantastic and changed every meal, every day. The entertainment was what I would expect from an all inclusive. A lot of great talent. The pool area was large and overall was a nice pool. You can witness the constant effort to upkeep the grounds. I agree with the beach area, the ocean-it was rocky, but you could easily navigate. The room, a deluxe king, was nothing fancy, and the shower water would leak out into the sink floor area. Our housekeeper was lovely and did a wonderful job keeping the room clean. If you looking for a fantastic experience; wonderful food; great atmosphere on a budget, I would recommend

Needs updating ...and air conditioning not totally working ....switched rooms 4 times first 2 days . Lot of walking everything spaced out . on positive note lots of wildlife birds ,turtles, turkeys,peacocks and grounds well maintained. Beach lots of rocks and rock ridges in the water 15 ft out that you need to maneuver over to get to deep water .

We been to this resort 5 times and we really enjoy it the staff is very friendly the food is great we like the beach we’re not really pool people we go here mainly for the great weather everything else is a bonus it’s a great resort well laid out not to much walking to get around we like all the different species of birds on the resort we stayed here from December 13 2019 to January 03 2020 weather was great,They have a big celebration for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve including an awesome display of fireworks,Overall it’s a great resort food is great with lots of selection.and 5 a la carte restaurant, a gym,and a very relaxing spa.you can’t go wrong with this place for price and value.we had an awesome vacation.PS you can also take a bus to a small town near the resort called Dominicus to do some shopping or try local restaurants or bars it’s only 1$ us to take the bus one way,We flew air Transat which we love there is never any issues and we get transportation with a small shuttle to the resort not having to deal of getting on a big crowded bus.We had an amazing vacation we are definitely going back

Food was decent, especially the Brazilian a la carte with all the different BBQ'd meats! The buffets were not air conditioned here so you're eating in the heat. The grounds were decent, but there are several dead trees that need to be cut down. All the different types of birds were a really nice touch! The beach has lots of rocks so bring water shoes. We walked two resorts down and the beach was amazing. The man made reef was great for snorkeling IF you have a clear day/water at the beach. Lots of shade available at the beach. The rooms are only a 2*. They are sooooo outdated and bathtub was very dirty. No headboard, no pictures, tv extremely small, lamps had mold on them, air cond worked well though. There are also lots of mosquitoes here so bring bug spray, we won't return for this reason. The MJ show was excellent. Pool side entertainment was decent. Sunsets are great. The front lobby staff didn't even say bye or thanks for vacationing with us :(

My partner and I found the resort to be a very chill vibe. We relaxed for the entire week. We disliked the vendors selling on the actual resort grounds (first time we have witnessed that). They were not only on the beach shore, but by the buffet entrance, by the lobby entrance, by the pool area. Very unavoidable. Beach had some rocks to overcome prior to entering into the water but the beach was beautiful. The entertainers did an amazing job and the nightly shows were incredible!

Location was beautiful, we love the animation group! They were full of joy and very energetic! Our room was upgraded for a better one for our honeymoon, which was ok, not as good as we taught but we never really stayed in there! Only thing for us that was negative was the lack of respect of visitors, garbage was thrown on side of hotel walk ways. Other than this , it was paradise! Great food at the Japanese restaurant!!

I visited in Sept 2019 as a single traveler and had a good stay. The resort is clean and well maintained. My room was also very clean with daily housekeeping and the fridge was stocked up every day (the small tips to the housekeeper worked). The buffet restaurant and Japanese restaurant are good - I loved both of them. Some of the other a-la-carta restaurant food is not so good (could have been better), but the buffet restaurant makes up for this where you could eat every day (it has plenty of choices). Plenty of natural beauty and greenery at the resort with lots of bird life - good nature introduction for kids. I found all the staff very helpful and friendly and remember while traveling - a small amount of tips goes a long way!!! Overall - I would recommend and wouldn't mind visiting with my family.

We have travelled to all-inclusive resorts for thirty years and so we have a pretty good idea on the merits of those resorts we visit. The Be Live Canoa was clean and well kept, which wasn’t hard considering the time of year we were there (September). The food was OK but not great. The ocean was lovely but the beach was not walkable for the most part and the entry to the ocean is very rocky which certainly takes away from the enjoyment. Our biggest complaint was the constant upselling by staff on a daily basis. You could not walk anywhere on any particular day without being followed and basically accosted by someone trying to sell you a membership in the VIP club or sell you something in their shop. Incredibly you could not get a decent glass of wine to have with dinner or at any of the bars. When we tasted our first glass, it was as close to vinegar as you can get. I returned our glasses to the bar and was told if we wanted a nice glass of wine we would have to get it through a VIP membership. The only alternative was buying a bottle to have with dinner. This is totally counter-productive to enjoying an all-inclusive vacation. On a last note I emailed the resort directly before we left and advised the resort that my wife had mobility issues and that we would appreciate a room on the ground floor. The resort ignored our request.

THE BE LIVE COLLECTION "CANOA" RESORT IN LA ROMANA IS THE WORST RESORT WE HAVE EVER BEEN TO AND WE HAVE BEEN TO MANY MANY RESORTS. WE WERE THERE FROM JULY 24th TO JULY 31st, 2019. WHERE DO I BEGIN. THE AIR CONDITIONING IN OUR ""FIRST"" ROOM DID NOT WORK - IT WAS 28 DEGREES. WE ASKED TO BE MOVED, OUR SECOND ROOM WAS A ""LITTLE"" BETTER BUT STILL VERY WARM TO SLEEP AT NIGHT. THE TEMPERTURE IN THAT ROOM WAS 25.5 DEGREES AND NEVER BUDGED DEFINATELY NOT ACCEPTABLE, BUT WE STAYED IN THIS ROOM ANYWAY BECAUSE EARLIER THAT DAY MY HUSBAND OVERHEARD PEOPLE AT THE POOL ALSO COMPLAINING ABOUT THEIR A/C NOT WORKING. THERE ARE WAY TOO MANY BIRDS AT THIS RESORT. THERE IS POOP ALL OVER THE GROUNDS FROM THESE BIRDS ESPECIALLY THE TURKEYS. ONE TURKEY TRIED TO PECK A GENTLEMAN THAT WAS ON MOBILE WHEELCHAIR AND SOME TURKEYS MADE THEIR WAY INTO THE BUFFET WHERE ONE GIRL WAS STARTLED AND KEPT WAVING THEM AWAY BUT THEY WOULD NOT LEAVE - THIS IS SO UNSANITARY - JUST GET RID OF ALL THESE BIRDS. AGAIN VERY UNSANITARY. THE SWIM UP BAR IS A COMPLETE JOKE. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE THERE WHATSOEVER. THE BAR IS TWO SIDED, ONE PART BEING IN THE POOL (where there is no booze on that side of the bar???) AND THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS BAR IS BEING SERVED TO WALKERS BY. THERE WAS ALWAYS NO ONE ON THE POOL SIDE, LITERALLY PEOPLE WERE GETTING OUT OF THE POOL WALKING TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE BAR TO ORDER THEIR DRINKS AND GETTING BACK IN THE POOL - SO WHY BOTHER HAVING A ""SWIM UP"" BAR. ALSO THE ""PIER BAR/RESTAURANT IS A ""PAY"" BAR/RESTAURANT - THIS WAS NOT MENTIONED AND IS NOT NOTED ANYWHERE. WE SAT AT THE VERY END OF THE PIER ONE EVENING OVERLOOKING THE OCEAN AND SOMEONE APPROACHED US TELLING US WE COULD NOT SIT THERE THAT THIS PIER WAS A PAY BAR/RESTAURANT. THE PLACE IS OLD. IT DEFINATELY NEEDS SOME MAJOR REFURBISHING. A LOT OF THINGS ARE CRACKED AND BROKEN. GOING TO THE BEACH FROM THE POOL AREA, THERE ARE SO MANY ROCKS STICKING OUT OF THE SAND THAT IF YOU DON'T WATCH IT YOU CAN STUB YOUR TOES BADLY. THE OCEAN IS GORGEOUS, BUT YOU CANNOT GO IN IT BECAUSE THERE ARE SO MANY JAGGED ROCKS AT THE BOTTOM OF IT THAT IF YOU HAVE NO BEACH SHOES YOU DEFINATELY SCRAPE YOUR FEET BADLY. THE FOOD IS DECENT, BUT COULD USE IMPROVEMENT. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE TO GO AT NIGHT IF IT RAINS AS THE ""PLAZA"" IS NOT COVERED. THE BUFFET IS OPEN AREA, SO SMALL BIRDS COME IN AND NESTLE ON THE INSIDE PEAKS OF THE THATCHED ROOF, SO ONE TIME WE WERE EATING THERE AND BIRD DROPPINGS LANDED ON OUR TABLE. SO VERY DISGUSTING. ALSO, IF YOU LEAVE YOUR PLATE ON YOUR TABLE WITH FOOD TO GO GET WHATEVER, BIRDS FLY IN AND PICK AT YOUR FOOD. SO YOU ARE EATING FOOD THAT BIRDS HAVE BEEN PICKING ON. I WOULD DEFINATELY NOT RETURN TO THIS RESORT OR RECOMMEND IT FOR THAT MATTER. EVEN THOUGH THE PRICE WE PAID WAS REASONABLE, WE STILL THINK WE PAID WAY TOO MUCH FOR WHAT THIS RESORT HAS TO OFFER. LIKE I SAID THIS RESORT NEEDS MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR RENOVATION. IF I WAS OWNERS OF THIS RESORT, I WOULD BE EMBARRASSED TO SELL THIS RESORT TO VACATIONERS. WISH WE HAD GONE SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Stayed at Be Live Canoa from July 8th - 15th. I stayed in block 5, 3rd floor, pool view room which was very close to the pool. Steps away and could be seen from my balcony. The beach was just on the other side of the pool. Buffet food was good, lots of selection and never had a problem finding something to eat. I also ate at the snack bar and that was good as well. Drinks were tasty, pool bar was convenient and close. Room was cleaned every day and drinks in mini-fridge were replaced daily as well. My only complaint would be the filtration/cleaning of the pool. By mid-afternoon is was a bit dirty but I just took a dip in the ocean at that time. The colours of the ocean is the most beautiful I have seen and could not get enough of the view.

Not a 5 star but overall a good experience. Enjoyed the buffet and snack bar food. Room was cleaned and mini fridge was stocked everyday. Found staff to be friendly and hard-working.my only real complaint would be the cleanliness of the pool by early afternoon. Better filtration and cleaning is needed.

Beautiful place! Only went to one A la carte restaurant- Japanese. Excellent! Plenty of shops/boutiques on the resort for whatever you will need; souvenirs, clothes, liquor, jewelry, snacks...etc. Good size resort with good walking distances everywhere. Lots of birds, turkeys, ducks and a peacock on the grounds. A lot of European tourist. Our room was very spacious with closets and drawers. Did not like the bathroom area, glass doors for toilet and shower. No hooks to hang anything in the shower: towels, facecloths etc, (bring your own facecloths). Beach is nice but too crowded. You need to get up quite early every morning to reserve your chairs on the beach. Be sure to put an old t-shirt or old beach towels to reserve your chairs. We started using our resort towels and twice, someone stole a resort towel on 2 different days. Never had this happen to us before. I don't recommend leaving those resort towels unattended. We were not impressed! Security guards on beach don't seem to notice these people. You will pay 20$US if you do not return your towel card at checkout.

Hotel grounds are well kept. Workers always making sure the grounds are maintained. Some rooms are more updated than others. But house keepers work hard and rooms are cleaned well. Beds are so comfy. We stayed in building 19. Japanese Restaurant so good and fun. Pizza Restaurant was simple but pizza was really good. Drinks are strong. Coffee bar amazing! Get the VIP package. Mario in the VIP lounge will be missed. Beach is beautiful. Entertainment staff are great and work very hard. All main line staff spoke several languages. The vendors can be a little aggressive so that would be my only suggestion to management would be to ask them to tone it down a notch.

Pros: -Friendly Staff and efficient -ViP upgrade (25 USD/day/pp) is worth it for the Adults only part of pool and beach and room service and snack bar and pool bar and safe key and lounge bar and snacks and small minibar in room and fast WiFi. -Large rooms, lack decor and seem "tired". Comfortable beds. Good bluetooth speaker in the room with USB ports. Incense provided in rooms. Ensure tipping daily though for best room prep daily. -In room minibar was adequate with daily tipping Cons: -Towel service often runs out of clean beach towels. Only one towel per person permitted. -About 4 loungers in the VIP adults only part of the beach (mattresses with part shade) need to be squatted for at 06:00 in the A.M. with your towel. People hold them all day long with their towels. Its a "towel game". -Buffet can be underwhelming at times. -Billed as " Adults Only " resort but only the VIP areas are adults only. -Wifi is 10$/day if not with VIP. The free one is too slow. -Restaurants are very underwhelming. Limited free alcohol selections at supper meals are avalaible, as they prefer you order from the various bottles of wine available for Cash purchase outside of all-inclusive. Only the ViP restaurant was good enough. -Gift shops have limited selections of pharmaceuticals that are sold, along with Sunscreen, at 10 times the price of the same items in the shopping centers in town. -Electrical outlets in room use american style two-prong 110v system, but cannot plug in 3-pronged US electrical plugs (such as my laptop.) due to missing ground hole. -The GYM facility was very bad. One functioning treadmill with limited weight machines and difficult towel availability. -The use of table tennis paddles and various other recreational items on the beach required cash deposits. -Room service menu was limited. Sometimes hours of meals were not respected (menu states breakfast 'til 11am, but when you call at 10:40am they refuse breakfast and suggest you order the lunch items. -No hair conditioner provided, just shampoo and soap provided. -Room keys often de-magnetized requiring unplanned 20-minute walks back to the front desk to reset the cards every 48hrs or so. -Room toilets were located close to the beds so all body noises are heard by all in the room... -Room TV channels only has 3-4 english channels with no possibility for streaming or VOD or Netflix even if you bring a streaming HDMI device due to wifi firewalls. -Air-conditioning was not optimal in the top floors, and ceiling fan only worked at medium speed. -Single, not double, occupancy jacuzzi in the room. -Clothes dry racks not available in most rooms with stickers reminding everyone NOT to hang dry item onto the balcony rails everywhere.

Grounds were amazing...service was only for the young cute girls...and watch out for the wet floors under the air ducts in front of your bedroom door with no signs...and the buffet was horrible...thank goodness for the Japanese restaurant

I've been to quite a few resorts in th Caribbean and this was the worst I've ever been to. Rooms were clean. Not enough staff in buffet area. 1 to 50 ratio approximately. Most meals were finished before water was served. First day food was good but went downhill from there. Experienced one part cooked burger in the snack bar. 24 bar was slow. Most nights standing in line for at least 10 minutes. Lots of good things about resort but reviews are about the bad parts. Lots of people that I talked to said they were repeat customers. Not sure why but they have their opinions also

Second time to this resort and feel it was actually better last year. They are under new management and are changing things but didn't seem for the better. (Food is far more repetitive than last year). Upon reserving I have made notations on the file and then called a Trip Central Rep to make sure my ground floor request was noted due to mobility issues, and I asked for a particular building, plus a few other requests. Upon check-in, they told me there were no requests on my file and that they were putting me on the 3rd floor. I advised them I could not do the 3rd floor, and after going into the back room 3 times and 40 minutes later, I got a room but totally not what I requested. You would think they would take care of repeat guests!! On the good side, the Beach is Incredible and the grounds are maintained by a very set of hard working people!

My wife and I have had the good fortune to vacation extensively throughout the Caribbean. We've stayed at 3 stars to 5 stars and I would have to categorize Be Live Collection Canoa as a 4 star, and not a 5 star as their website suggests. We attended the resort the week of Feb. 15th, 2019. I'll comment on the pros and the cons and let you form your own conclusion. Pros We found the staff to be friendly and courteous, the wifi was excellent throughout the entire property, the washrooms throughout the resort were clean and well stocked, our room was well maintained, the entertainment was good, the beach is beautiful, plenty of lounge chairs and shade, but I'll comment more on the beach below, resort was overall well kept, short drive from/to the airport...sounds good so far. Cons The food in the buffets was disappointing! Orange juice consisted of 'Tang' powdered orange juice, eggs were either omelettes or fried, no boiled, or otherwise, syrup dish for the pancakes/waffles CONSTANTLY went empty - no one replacing it, people left waiting, two types of cereal...Fruit Loops and Raisin Bran, milk containers CONSISTENTLY empty - no one replacing them, people left waiting (lots of almond milk though)....they could use a buffet staff member keeping track of what is running low/empty and see that it gets replaced, food was REPETITIVE - pool area buffet especially, you could have broccoli, potatoes and cauliflower for supper and see it again for breakfast, there are more kinds of pasta that could be presented throughout the week than spaghetti and rigatoni, and the sauce was of poor quality. The staff in the buffet came to our table on 2 occasions at suppertime throughout the week asking if we would like more water/wine...that was frustrating. The pool was clean but the water was very cold!...few people swimming in it throughout the week. 2019 - solar heaters do an amazing job at heating pools and there was plenty of sun. The beach - step into the water and it is very rocky and slippery, my wife slipped getting out of the water and cut her foot, some snorkeling, but it is way out there by the roped swimming perimeter - with motor boats zipping closely by. The entertainment started late - 10 pm. After a 6:30 - 7 pm supper you had a long, near 3 hour wait (chat/drink) - how about starting at 9 pm, as many other resorts do, then people could sit in the lounge areas after the 1 hour show and chat/drink, probably a better start time for the many young children at the resort. I believe that in most instances you get what you pay for. The cost of this vacation was less than what we would have paid for at a 5 star like the Riu, or Royalton or Dreams. In balance, I definitely would have to categorize the Canoa as a 4 star resort.

I really enjoyed it. The staff were lovely . The beach also! A special shout to Juan from snack bar/Mexican a LA carte took such good care and the mexican food yum. Also Yun Yun from the animation dept. Lovely lady. She even went out of her way when she had seen I had cut my knee to get a life guard to come and fix me up! The grounds are beautiful.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel, but wouldn't recommend coming here during the holiday season. The grounds are nice: clean, lots of birds and very green. The beach is nice and clean as well and there is an artificial reef, the fish were very friendly. Once you get in the water the bottom is mostly rocks. However, the lack of furniture in the room was upsetting. There was no desk, no chairs and the sad shelf that we did have was slanted and we were afraid to put too much stuff on it. The holiday dinners were good, but it was just too crowded and loud to enjoy it to the fullest. Also, the service wasn't on the level. It was hard to get the attention of the waiters for anything during meals and their English is generally poor. But the second that about a third of people left, the service became soooooooo much better. I would say that one can definitely give this hotel a try in the less not so busy seasons and surely you will get more bank for your buck.

Not a bad place depending on what your looking for. Beach was nice a bit rocky however. We chose the vip master junior ocean view suite adult only our ocean view was ground level and partial. Room was decent a bit dated parts nothing some fresh paint couldn’t fix. Food was very repetitive and not the best. I would say 75% don’t speak English and their was a lack of communication throughout our stay so you kind of have to figure things out on your own. Overall the weather was nice and it was a good vacation however probably would choose a different resort next time.

This hotel is beautiful, well kept, lots of greenery and beautiful beach...Our room was block 6, closest you could get to the beach...Food was wonderful, good selection and lots to eat...I wouldn't waste my time on the Pizza Alacarte, better pizza in the buffet...we asked for an Italian restaurant and she said KM Pizza was Italian but it is just pizza...International restaurant was terrific, great service and good food, small portions but very good, staff was excellent....this was my third trip there and I will definitely go again...24 hour food and drink, clean hotel, comfortable beds, great service, beautiful beach. Only downside to the trip was we had our towels stolen twice, not the resorts fault but watch the guests, I travel 3 times a year to the Caribbean for the last 15 years and have never had my towel stolen yet. Safe is not included in your room. The resort seemed quite full when we were there and there was very rarely a line up, if there was, it went quick...overall, it is a wonderful resort and I will be returning

Be Live Hotel was beautiful. The grounds were lush and well taken care of. Our room was standard so pretty basic. But we didn't come for the room. A few minor issues with the aircon which was dissapointing. The pool was fabulous and the beach was amazing! Food was good and the people were very friendly. The nightly shows were great; especially the Michael Jackson show. The dancers were so good and have a lot of talent. The one thing I didn't love was the pressure to buy stuff from the vendors they allow on site. While they were friendly I just didn't enjoy the constant pressure. Overall though this hotel was pretty good.....we relaxed and enjoyed our family vacation to the max!

We had great relaxing week. Very clean and food was typical resort food . Buffet could try to have better warming trays !!! Best thing got an Upgrade to a VILLA... Amazing... Resort was too big for us !!

The grounds were kept nice..the rooms were dated but fine except the bathroom toilet would not flush..the bathroom sink wouldn’t drain..we even upgraded ourselves for VIP..$300.00....really...there are 2 classes of VIP. A and B I presume..we only pd enough for B I guess... if you speak only English good luck..vip breakfast bar..bacon and eggs didn’t .exist. We waited 15 min for coffee, only to find when waiter left that it was freezing...and another 15 min for new one..bacon and eggs was actually 2 eggs... never all easy over..and bacon had to come from buffet. Was gonna be 5 min.. after spending so much time waiting on the not so easy over eggs, the bacon still hadn’t arrived..still waiting.........food was garbage really..beach was sardines in a can..very unhappy staff..we had ala cart one night at Mexican and the waitress was the best...most fun...AND could speak English without having to get somebody else to explain...........all in all I would not recommend...I have better treatment in Cuba at a 3 1/2 star....really...and could have been there for 3 weeks for the cost of one at be live.....hope this helps so body who only speaks English....

1, Hardly anyone spoke English they catered more to the Spanish speaking people. 2, We upgraded… really couldn’t see the benefit except for the adult pool… The a la cartes were a joke, Japanese got a pass… Supposed to get premium drinks 🍹 Not one of the party of 10 could drink the red or white wine, that’s so you buy a bottle that costs a fortune… 3, So after upgrading flight, & amenities in the hotel, which has mold and rooms very damp We all were counting the days to come home…You guys need to reavalueate this place… Won’t go into trying to get some bacon 🥓

Our party off 8 people were very upset about this hotel,the food was the worse we have ever had on a resort.Hardely anyone spoke English ,Just to get breakfast was an nightmare.All 8 off us paid an extra $300,00 a couple to get upgraded to VIP.but it did not get much better.The food was still the same,food was always cold even the soup,I don't know how many times we had to send our food back for one reason or another.I really don't know how they rate this a four star.Ive been to a three star in Cuba & it was a lot better than this.For $1500.00 each it was a rip off.I would never go back to this resort.& I would not recommend it to any off my Friends.i don't usually put reviews on here but I feel people should know what they are getting into before they spend their hard earned Money.

Beautiful resort and amazingly clean. Staff was very friendly and very respectful. We did enjoy eating at three of the A La carte restaurants, ''Milos'' being the best. The food was good though there was no change of presentation or food offered in the buffet. From morning to evening it was always the same thing. We also enjoyed going on a few excursions. Though, I must add, the Sunwing Agent should make it a point in answering our questions truthfully. For one excursion, we asked four times if the excursion was overly extenuous, we were told all four times no. There should be no problems even if you have sore knees or asma. Only when we got on site were we given a pamphlet describing that excursion as being strenuous. We did have to take breaks and also my sister did need to pull out her breathing pump. There was a constant animation from exercising in the sea, to various activities. Animation in the evening as well. All in all I would easily give it a 8 out of 10. After reading some reviews about this resort, we decided to book it and see it for ourselves. This resort was awesome. Food was delicious and staff were friendly. The beach was calm and clean. Pool looked clean, but we didn't use it. We have a pool at home so we were in the ocean everyday. Overall, this place was definitely worth trying.

Hola, after been bounced twice from Cuba due to the hurricanes, we decided to try Dominican Republic, it was a quick discussion made, but went without doing are homework. The price was reasonable. Flew out Air Transat, love flying with them, Got to the resort about 45 minutes later, at 12 noon, but could not check in until 3pm (they really should change there policy regarding check in and outs). Room ok, 3rd floor, the grounds were well kept, the food was ok, better than one country I could name, (not). I found that the staff are not as friendly, grounds keepers the same,the beach area, I guess due to the hurricanes had a bad odour, when eating at night a lot of bugs, not the best beaches I have been to. There was very little entertainment for all, learn to dance lessons, ball bouncing, trivia game, at night again very little, sit around one of the bars and listen to music, not they best place for families and children, there was excursions you could take, really think on that, yes went on the Sonia island tour, sorry not worth the price, waste of time. also if you happen to decide to go I would check with your Rep. the price might be different than the staff that roams the area. I know its there job and that's how they make there money too live. The resort looked good, but no I will not go back. One other thing to mention is the money exchange at the resort wow be careful, Canadian dollar they take half, check with your own banks first. I'm sorry to be negative on this resort, but for what you pay for, you should expect more. Oh last thing they lost some of are .luggage, from being put on the bus which I watched very carefully, and when we got off the bus someone has stolen it, we never found it we got the rep involved with other personal no luck, we check outside to see if it was discard in the ravine area no such luck.

We upgraded to VIP which was a great idea because the resort was crazy busy, especially when it came to the beach!!! So I was really glad we have a private beach. The resort was crazy clean considering the amount of people that were there. I'm not going to go through every category because everything was really good and there's nothing in my opinion that I'd change or suggest that they could change! I'd 100% go back or use the same Resort in other locations!

A little far from Santo Domingo but la Romana was 20 mi . Rooms ok nice bedding and cleaning staff were excellent. Free WiFi poor unless by pool at night. Don't waste money on Saona excursion unless you like 2000 people on a beach... Frank on the beach excursions is great orange hat . .Bartenders not friendly . ..rarely. Liquor quality poor..no coconut rum or rum cream. Pool and spa Jacuzzis dirty. Entertainment in lobby each night was great with a rock band on our last night. Shows excellent. Not many English speaking staff or vacationers so not great for us.

This resort is absolutely beautiful......water features around resort....accommodate many wildlife features .....peacock....chickens....fish...turtles...ducks and other various birds....all friendly and love to be hand fed...nice walkways....beautiful landscaping. Pool is large with swim up bar....entertainment all day long!!! Buffet offers great selection....staff amazing!!! All a carte restaurant's offer excellent variety. Great evening shows...cirque de solei was Vegas quality!! Recommend the. Go cart and dune buggy excursions....great tour....lots of fun...excellent machines!!! Would definitely go back!!!

Definitely NOT a 5 star resort as they have it on their lobby wall. I have been to many resorts and based on experience would say this is NOT even a 4 star hotel. Maybe a 3-3.5 star. I don't have high expectations and if you are going to cuba or dominican Republic you should not either. I don't care if there's birds flying around the buffet area or if the waitress dropped a plate on the floor and put it back on the pile. I don't want to think about how they cook the food in the back or barely wash our beach or room towels. However, I have never seen a division of hotel guests the way I saw it in this resort: VIP vs Regular guests. I'm fine with them having a separate beach, bar, room and services; however in a resort with 1000 guests where 800-900 of them are regular, I didn't see it proper for them one day all of a sudden to reserve half of the beach outside their VIP beach area for the 100-200 of them, especially when there's signs saying 'Forbidden to reserve sun beds'. Everyone was wondering around trying to find a sun bed where to stay - not so nice. The beds were barely used. Just an inconvenience for the rest of us. If I would go VIP though, I would pay extra to go to a dreams or luxury resort instead of here. Also the big pool for regular hotel guests not clean and very few sun beds available. I never used it for my baby and I wanted to. The VIP pool super clean. It's more for hygenic reasons that I was worried and so should the managers of the resort. Also there was 1700 people at the resort at one point and only around 500 sun beds. The reason why is because they wanted you to pay for their beds 10$ a day and if you wanted to stay at the pool you had no choice but to pay. The beach and sand was very good with rocks on the bottom but still very good. The food was good for me, even with a one year old. I'm not sure why people have commented here that it's hot when supposed to be cold and vice versa. Not true and that comment really worried me but I found the food better than Cuba so I was happy about that. The resort, hotel and services were not good. The rooms are old, the key to safety deposit was 3.50$ per day. I have never paid for the safety deposit key anywhere else. Everyone at the resort is trying to sell you timeshare or excursions. For the 10 days I stayed, there always was someone trying to sell you something. If people want to buy gifts, they will walk to the shops or go book excursions. Also, the majority of guests were European so it's true that the staff barely spoke English. Italian and French was mostly heard. Also, you need to pay a deposit to use the kayaks, and only 30 min allowed. I guess they don't want people to stay longer than 30min, which is fair to the other guests but because of the deposit issue, people just didn't bother. So if you are a kayak person and as long as you have a watch on you, then no problem.

We had a great time here if you like birds this is the place for you it's almost like a bird sanctuary the grounds are well kept the staff is fastastic food was great rooms are very clean entertainment everynight was fantastic lots of loungers at the pool and beach with plenty of activities we've been to Sandals .Riu .majestic colonial which are a lot more money then this place but if your looking for a good time in the sun this place is a good price for what they offer all I can say is we will go back cause we had a great time .

Myself an a friend spent a week here; unsure of what to expect, as some reviews worried us. First, it's 20 minutes from the airport, I like a reasonably short transfer like this. The check in, a wee bit of a gong show, as reception directed us to ''follow that guy'' a guy in a blue shirt who was swiftly moving through the area. Anyhow, he lost us. ha ha. We found our way to the VIP lounge, and got things back on the rails. The room, (a junior suite) had a bedroom with a king, and a balcony, and a large tv, and the front room had a queen and a large tv with a chaise/couch but it was more set up like a living room. Also a balcony, then out back was a large terrace with deck chairs. Oh there was a kitchen also. Could the room have been decorated nicer? yes, would some simple paint spruce up the bare white walls..of course... did it affect our trip? obviously not. The grounds, very clean ( the water at some sprinklers really smelled foul at times) The beach is clean, white sand, considerably rocky as you walk the beach a good distance. But the beach area for lounging and swimming is good. The VIP area had a good number of beach chairs, and NEVER had to worry about ''saving'' them, many times we were the only 2 out there. The regular beach area was JAM PACKED regularly with towels on every chair, but often not bodies on the chairs. VIP pool separate from the regular pool was quiet, clean and again, no one there. It was great. NO sqwaking kids or thumping music with foolish poolside games etc. VIP had their own small restaurant next to the pool, so you didnt have to wander far from the beach/pool. Granted the selection was quite limited. The bar service around the VIP beach and pool was excellent. Each morning Miguel would make sure things were good in our room and ask if there were any issues. He also made dinner reservations for us each day. On one afternoon it began to rain, so .. we had Miguel make us a reservation at the spa and had a grand deep tissue massage...it was excellent. Once finished we returned to the beach,and the sun was back. We ate at the Brazilian, Mexican,(best margaritas ever!) Gourmet 2x (vip captains dinner was steak and lobster wow) and Japanese. We did not go to the pizza restaurant, as pizza was readily available on the buffets and snack bars and we just didnt see a need. Each evening we had drinks and rapid wi fi in the VIP lounge, we also often elected to have a wee snack or dessert in there after dinner had settled. It was nice as there was no smoking inside...outside in the plaza area where the nightly music etc was...was SOOOO THICK WITH SMOKE yes...outside... it was quite surprising. VIP guests get wifi for 15 hours in the room. Wifi was also available at the VIP beach. It might have been a small amount extra to go VIP but...highly recommended. We were happy with the amenities, the staff, the cleanliness, the drinks, the service. One thing we did notice, we like to make friends when we travel and ''hang out'' or get to know new folks. it was VERY difficult ( actually impossible) for us as we speak ENGLISH (with a smattering of spangleish) we were not able to find any other guests who spoke english. Tons and tons of french... and dutch... so we enjoyed ourselves anyhow. Just an observation. Oh!!! and the guys who are in like safari clothes... with safari hats... those are TIME SHARE guys... they ask if you got your welcome bottle of mamajuana and free t shirt. they take you to the time share desk near the pool...and you get a well dressed time share shark to drag you all around giving the hard sell etc. If this is not your thing... dont fall for the free tshirt/bottle ploy. We watched it happen time and time again. Just tell them yes.. you got it and keep moving on.. ( unless you WANT to check it out) oh ,and in the evenings, there are the usual sales people in the walkways (like in many resorts) they are pretty aggressive and try to reel you in to come look at their wares... if it's not your thing, just be polite, say no thanks and keep on walkin. This was one of our best getaways,great weather and very friendly staff. We were lucky enough to get one of the villas, and it was one of the best accomidations that we have stayed at. The beach and pool areas were out of this world.also the food and the resturants were very good. We were also apart of the VIP package, check in was very quick and explained very well.

Going in I had read some pretty bad reviews of this place that were posted after we booked so my expectations were not that high. The resort turned out to be great and the people were super friendly to us (and especially to my 9 month old daughter). Overall we had a great week but it's far from the best resort I've been to over the years. Pros: - Room was great. A/C blew very cold. A big plus! - A la carte Restaurants we very good and service was excellent - Loved the outside plaza setup with the bar and coffee bar vs a huge lobby. Way better than most resort lobby bars. - My daughter absolutely loved all the birds by the ponds (ducks, geese, etc). Made out week - Water was relatively calm (and all the colours you would expect of the Caribbean) and was perfect for taking our daughter for a swim without big waves crashing on us. Cons: - Food in the buffet was always cold - Beach is very crowded - Hard to find a chair. People put towels out to save chairs all day. Most of the time we barely even saw them being used. Resort has a policy against this but NEVER enforced it. - The water sprinklers smelled like raw sewage when you walked by them - Despite all the signage around the resort being in English it was difficult to find English speaking staff at most of the bars - Long beach walks were out for us. Tried a couple of times but the beach was rocky and full of trash to the south and was at a 45 degree angle to the north making for really awkward (especially carrying a baby). This isn't specific to this resort. All resorts along this strip had the steep beach. We walked past them all (Iberostar, Dreams, Catalonia etc)

The resort was amazing. We upgraded to a villa and we are so glad we did. The VIP is so worth the extra cost. Maintainence was never ending. The resort was beautiful and seemed like a zoo with all the wildlife that live there. We will be back!!

The Resort itself is beautiful. I had been there two years ago and had gotten a beautiful room and the service was excellent. This New years, even though it was my second time there, which my agent from TripCentral forgot to mention, the room was pitiful. We didn't even have a chair. Honestly, in Cuba you would get a better room in a 3 star resort. It is sad to say, but this resort is not what I would consider a 4 star. The washrooms in the common area where mainly so dirty that we had to go to our room. There, the toilet didn't flush very well either. Most of the outside showers did not work either and the pool was not the cleanest. After explaining that it was my second time, we got access to free wifi in a dedicated area. I have to say that the New years eve dinner was excellent but we had to pay an extra $20.00 US per person. I do hope that the management will take a good look of what is happening there and will improve again. I have recommended this resort after my first visit but would not do so at this point.

We were pleasantly surprised; we expected an Ok resort but was amazed by the friendliness and energetic staff everywhere. From reception with Angel who did his utmost to find us a very nice room, to booking restaurants with Ingrit; both very professional, helpful all with a smile at all time! We were impressed by the buffet; always fresh & abundant with lots of variety! even cream cheese & peanut butter was available for the North Americans lolol! Clean beaches - clean rooms - maintenance of building non stop. The mature grounds, garden and birds on resort was enjoyed by all. Nice activities & shows at night (if you wanted to participate) but no hassle by staff if you didn't. We were expecting no more than a 3 star hotel /Cuban style - we got much, much better! p.s. great if you are there New Years Eve; we got Party at the beach plus great fireworks - very, very nice! Tks Karishma for your advice - we really enjoyed our stay!

This was the worst all-inclusive experience of my life. Roaches in the main buffet dining hall, rats roaming the dining hall floor, same food everyday. Beach was the only redeeming quality of this resort.

A non-pretentious but comfortable, beautiful and energetic hotel. We went there to surprise my parents who were already there so we didnt know where we were going or what to expect. It was our first resort experience as well, since we are of the backpacker type. The beach was beautiful, water warm, sunsets unforgettable, the people friendly (helped that we are fluent in Spanish) and the food delicious - lots of choices for a vegan/vegetarian diet, which we were super happy with. We left the hotel to explore the national park, Bayahibe and Santo Domingo on our own terms (not into these super guided tours) and we loved it all. It was a true relaxing vacation!

Hotel rooms were modern and beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs, entertainment was good. Most of the bar and buffet staff were slow and sometimes we didn't even get what we asked for. The ala carte line was half an hour long because they only accept bookings Sunday AM. This should be better managed. The full daytrip we booked to Saona was spent at a different island for the majority of the day and only got to enjoy saona for 45 min. Be careful before you book any trip and ask questions. The wait staff in the ala cartes were quick and the $36 usd lobster dinner is not worth it. Overall great experience but def needs some changes.

the first day was a challenge. my air conditioner clanged and creaked until it finally died, leaving pools of stinky water all over the floor. i was given a new room and it was perfect. the staff were wonderful and friendly and the a la carte restaurants were exceptional for the ambience and live music, although the food was overcooked and stale. the buffet was varied enough not to be boring after 7 days and the front desk kindly let me stay in my room until shortly before my shuttle left for the airport ( after i reminded them how awful my first day was). for an older hotel, it was very nice and i recommend it to anyone looking for a piece of old fashioned tourist accom ( the 1000 room hotel next door was frightening!) with friendly, helpful staff, beautifully kept grounds, lots of play areas for adults and kids alike.

Well, where do i start ? i will start with the good. the check in was smooth and we were greeted with a cold beverage, the room was very clean, linen fresh and a variety of soaps and shampoo provided, the grounds were well maintained with ducks, peacocks and other birds wandering the grounds, the pool is quite large, reasonably clean but as per the season there was quite a few little nats floating in the pool, the grounds of the resort have lots of little paved paths to wander around the resort, the beach area has lots of seating and loads of shaded areas, ocean had very little sea weed and you could walk out quite a distance, lots of sea life to see here, saw more on the hotel beach than on my $100 snorkling trip so bring a mask and flippers. All the staff were great, even though its all inclusive bring some $1s , a buck here and there gets you faster and steadier service, i found out it was about 80-90% european when i was there and they traditionally dont tip, so a tip is noticed, my breakfast waitress (i sat in her section every day) had my coffee even before i sat down, just the way i like it. The evening entertainment was fun but typical for an all inclusive. Now the bad, my only complaint was the food, and i know the dominicans can cook but this hotel cut corners on the menu and put items out as far as i can tell to fill up the trays to make the buffet look full, in the 2 weeks i was there i did not find bacon, a decent ham or sausage on the breakfast buffet but i did find meat balls, chicken wings, carrots, broccoli, stewed beef, and an assortment of pickled veggies, at the end of 2 weeks i was dreading the buffet, i was joining the throng of other tourists wandering around looking for something different to eat. Now for the resturants, the oriential was not to bad and was a fun meal with them cooking in front of you, the gourmet was the best, the brazilian was hit and miss but found usually something was being served raw or burnt, the mexican was not good at all, their idea of mixed grill, beef, pork, chicken, salmon, grouper is to mix them all into one discusting mess, over all the food was better than cuba but not by much, i did however have a few good meals but you have to check out snack bar and the buffet and choose wisley, All considered i do not think i would recommend this hotel as there are so many that i have been to in this price range that are much better

We have travelled to many resorts throughout the region. This resort is one of the finest we have visited so far. Upon arrival, we could not help but notice the cleanliness of this hotel. The check in staff was very professional. Our suite was very elegant and well maintained by the cleaning staff. Although we only utilized the buffet, we were well pleased with the variety of dishes and the professional service we received. The bar service was fantastic. Nightly entertainment was excellent. We are quite happy that we chose this resort and will definitely return in the future. Thank you 'Be Live Canoa' for a pleasant stay.

We went in April and there were a lot of people. Beach was crowded but nice and clean. Food was good service was ok. The rooms were a little bit small for a family of four. Overall we had a good time even though the weather was not perfect.

This hotel has lovely grounds with mature vegetation. There aren't very many rooms with a great view, but the rooms are spacious and clean. Food is quite good in the buffet & al a cartes. The pool is fantastic - and the beach is very nice. Lot's of sun or shade options. Always chairs available at the pool and beach no matter what time you arrive. The free wifi in the lobby never works. If you want to book an excursion - find Victor - he's the guy you need to see!

For an older resort, I could not complain. It's not a 5 star but i did live up to its expectations. Good food, specially the Brazilian dinner. Very clean ground and lots of green. No issues with our room. The shows are just average but nice to see. The only issue is that in the ocean water, 20 feet from shore, the bottom is made up of rounded rocks BUT the water is warm !

Very good hotel location ideal, beautiful beech, beautiful pool. Excellent service, people there always got a smile on their face.Food is excellent and theres alot of variety from other countries.Alot of activities.

Room and Grounds were very clean. Beautiful Beach. Food was great. A big variety. Something for everyone. Service was slow. Room was not ready at 3.00. no free WiFi, no free safe in Room. The carges for both was way too high.

Booked last minute , stayed in room 409, had not problem with a/c, water preasure was good. Beach is good, walk a little down the beach for amazing powdery sand and scenery. Buffet was awsome, lots to choose from. Plenty of chairs at pool and beach. Will be returning for sure

Be Live Collection - Canoa **** La Romana D.R. we landed in PUJ at 9:45 pm and surprise, the duty free shop was open. After a 50 minute commute from PUJ you enter a spacious lobby. To the right is the a la carte reservation desk against the far right wall the reservation desk. Reserve a new superior deluxe room with all renovations complete, close to the beach and run of the house view, ours was #1934. With a frosted glass door to the toilet another to the shower and the sink/vanity in between. The room is cleverly modern in it its design. Back in the lobby on the left is the concierge center and straight ahead is the service desk. This resort is for sun and beach fun. Pass through the lobby and step into the hub of this resort. The Plaza Bar features nightly entertainment, try the rich sweet red label whiskey, icy tequila marguerites, hot espresso and delicious ice caps. Listen to a saxophone player, solo singer, classical music, and favorites like smoke on the water and other standards drift through the night air. For $10 CAD nightly receive prompt table service, you don't have to wait in line! With an extra large seating area decorated with neon green tables & white chairs, on marble flooring, all very neat and clean. The theatre is off to one side, the lights blink when the shows about to begin. The modern open air disco off to the other side opening at 11pm. $$$$US shops surround the plaza bar, sunscreen is $25US. We went through 6 cans in a week. Its was sunny and hot with a few refreshing showers late day. Walk the path to the right and find the Buffet, that has different fare/nightly theme: Mexican, Italian w/ a layered drink, French w/champagne, Brazilian, Dominican. Try the Asian a la carte, it is very tasty & entertaining, avoid the Gourmet. Passed the buffet is a large pool a 24hr snack bar adjacent. Walk straight ahead and your toes will sink into the soft sand with green sea surf. Palm trees wave in the wind and new lounge chairs are neatly lined up for the next day. Security is everywhere all day and night. Safe rental is $22US, Wi-Fi is $60US weekly (turn it off when sleeping), upgrade to VIP $60US p/n for a private pool, bar, lounge, upscale room,and Wi-Fi or keep your room and pay $30US p/n. We paid $22US for a late 4pm checkout. The resort markets to the Italian and French, it is a hidden gem. The best ocean to swim in the Dominican, been to Punta Cana Dreams & Grand Paradise & Bahia Ambar ****as well as Samana Grand Paradise***. Walk up the beach and pass 2 sets of vendors right on the beach, best buys at those farthest away. Its a nice walk and allows you to see other resorts. This hotel resort has so many excursions to offer on site at half price than through the Airline tour operator. Enjoyed every moment and will return. Superior kind service, delicious food, great drinks and entertainment what more do you want. We will return for sure.

I cannot say one bad thing about this resort. Great value for the money! They upgraded us from our standard room booking to a deluxe room for no charge. There are always cleaners cleaning, workers maintaining, everything we came across worked. The food whether it was the buffet or restaurants were great, plentiful and the variety I'm sure met all needs ... from the picky to the adventurous. The staff are all polite, we met with Marco the General Manager who took time from his busy day to talk to us. The beach is incredible ... one of the nicest we've seen, being beside a National Park enables you to walk forever (or till you get thirsty) without the busyness of a shopping mall at Xmas. I would definitely visit again if given the time and extra money to do it. This is a place that I have no regrets that I booked ... Be Live Canoa .... A Job Well Done!!!!

Rooms in the new building are very well done. roomy and lots of storage space.. Don't recommend the older building.The grounds are well done with natural wildlife with all kinds or birds, turtles. The food is average to good at buffet. Gourmet, Lobster, and Japanese specialty restaurants are excellent.Our biggest problem was the language barrier, Found all the staff including the front desk don't understand or speak English. Even ordering a drink is difficult. you have to try the "Mamma Juana passion". When one of our Friends in our party left her life or death prescription in her luggage that went lost, the medical Doctor on site did not show any concern for her health what so ever, she actually told her to take a taxi into the city to see if she can find it at a pharmacy. Don't trust the staff, one of our neighbors, was robed of all her cash from her safe. All other expensive items were not touched. cash is not traceable. One of the resort dancers and guide was actually selling CD's to people tanning on the beach for $10 claiming all the music on it was the music from their DJ. ENDED UP BEING BLANK when I got back home. will not return.

We stayed in this hotel from Jan 9/15 to Jan 16/15, and had a good time. This is only my second Caribbean vacation, my first to Dominican. Pros: - The grounds were decent enough - Rooms are spacious and clean - The food was EXCELLENT with selections from every corner of the world - Despite English being probably the least spoken language, they never refused to try (Their staff is multilingual for the most part: German, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, some English) - The location is nice - The staff don't expect tips or treat you poorly if you don't. Folks are eager to please you and are attentive! - Snorkelling at the rear end of the roped off swimming area is great! they have placed several artificial underwater structures that are now inhabited by fish, urchins, ect. - You can walk along the beach eastward towards the nature reserve for HOURS..lots to see, lots of exposed rock, shells - Gym is well equippped and features a boxing ring, MMA kick bags, treadmills, ellipticals, free weights, benches, machines, water, towel service, scales, smith machine. - No real cons (nothing that negative). Improvements they could make. keep in mind these are MINOR and in the grand scheme of things didn't really impact us negatively to any significant degree: - Better air conditioning. it DID work, but it struggled and often would let the temps rise to uncomfy levels at night, then gradually cool the room again - Better organized at check-in. I got a nice cocktail handed to me, but they could find my reservation - ended up getting shuffled after some searching to the other side of the lobby to a different desk. why have two check-in desks with no indication of which I need to go to? Why have two at all? - More consistency in how drinks are made. Some bars have all drinks, some don't - which isn't that bad, however even how a Mojito is made differs between bars - some crush the lime and mint in front of you, some scoop a big ladle full of pre-made liquid of sorts from a bucket in the freezer as an example - Shops could be more consistent and honest with real pricing. A box of slender medium cigars (8 in the box) started at 50$ USD which is ridiculous, I negotiated to less than half of that price. why not just have fair market? I'm on vacation to relax :) - On excursions, focus on providing trip value to the folks who paid to go, and less on chauffeuring potential buyers around to empty their pockets. despite the tour guides being very nice and accommodating, every stop we made was an opportunity to try and get us to buy something - ANYTHING. Things to note: - They do allow limited nudity on the beach. Several Europeans of varying ages did tan topless, but it wasn't made strange at all which was just fine. - You can smoke almost everywhere in this resort, however at no time are you choking on it which is great since I'm a non smoker. - There is a rock shelf of sorts a couple feet into the water off the beach. it can catch you by surprise and send you for a small harmless tumble, but i did see some elderly folks have an issue getting in and out of the water with the waves coming in. This resort is an hours drive from the Airport in Punta Cana, however the drivers are happy to oblige you with the 45 minute version at 130 Km/h :) In summary, despite the improvement areas I listed above, the overall experience at this resort, and with the entire trip was pleasant enough that i would not hesitate to return again. ~ Happy Trails!

THE STRONG POINT OF THE RESORT IS THE ANIMATION. THE GROUNDS ARE NOT VERY CLEAN THE ROOMS NEED UPDATES THE FOOD IS OK. THE A LA CARTE BOOKING IS CONFUSING AND YOU NEED TO WAKE UP AT 6 TO MAKE SURE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE THAN THE BUFFET.RECEPTION IS USELESS AND SLOW THE GUEST SERVICES WILL SAY ALWAYS YES BUT DO NOTHING.ISADOR IS THE ONLY ONE WHO ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS YOU AND WILL TRY SOMETHING.THE BARS ARE SLOW AND THERE IS NO BEACH WAITERS TO COME AND OFFER YOU A DRINK .YOU HAVE TO LINE UP FOR BARS WHICH TAKES FOREVER.THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ITALIAN CLUB WHO OWNS EVERYTHING THAT IS THE GOOD RESTAURANT ON THE BEACH WHICH IS ONLY FOR CLUB MEMBERS AND THE GOOD BEACH ANIMATION.THE BEACH CHAIRS ARE ALWAYS OCCUPIED BY TOWELS EVEN IF NO PEOPLE WILL SHOW FOR THE DAY.THE RESORT IS TOO FAR FROM THE AIRPORT AND IF YOU ARRIVED AT MIDNIGHT AS I DID YOU WILL DIE AT THE RECEPTION UNTIL THE MORNING.YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR INTERNET IN THE 21 CENTURY AND THE SAFE IN THE ROOM COMES FROM MEDIEVAL TIMES.I WILL ADD ANOTHER 200 NEXT TIME AND GO TO A REAL 4 OR 5 STAR PLACE WHICH HAS SERVICES AND NO ROCKS IN THE WATER TO CUT MY FEET.
