Fun times and so much to do. Havana is a must and snorkel off the beach is amazing. The food is good by Cuban standards and better than the other resorts. Grab the cigars from the lifeguard. The hotel is situated between the mountains and the beach 45 minutes from the airport and has beautiful gardens and palms throughout. A short swim out in the ocean reveals long reefs that are an excellent spot to snorkel. If you are a walker the beach is a lovely stretch to enjoy. It is an older hotel but well laid out with easy access to all amenities. The pool is large and well maintained.Rooms are clean, housekeeping is excellent. The staff are warm, friendly and accommodating. Several à la carte restaurants were onsite: the buffet is clean and well stocked.The food, coffees and drinks are above average; we were pleased with the choices and quality. Water was provided daily. Activities were onsite and entertainment was varied; musicians played many evenings.WiFi was a bit sporadic. Information for tours, taxis and attractions was easy to access; a Sunwing rep was present six days a week and was very informative. The appeal for this hotel is the quality of food and the lovely, caring staff.

We loved our 10 days at Memories Jibacoa. The excellent reviews were spot on. The entire staff were exceptional. The buffet was was one of the best I’ve experienced in Cuba, especially the bread and pastry that was baked fresh everyday. A solid shout out to the pastry chef as well as all the servers in the dining room. Rooms were a bit dated but kept clean and comfortable with fresh towels everyday. The bed was very comfortable with good sheets. A real bonus. Sadly, the Canadian airlines announced their temporary (hopefully) suspension of vacation flights to all of Cuba two days before our scheduled departure fight arrived empty. It was heartbreaking to know how the beautiful people of Cuba would be affected. Stay strong MJ and beautiful Cuba. We will return.

Our fourth trip here in 10 years…. Still never disappoints! Wonderful room, good and people. The only thing that didn’t cooperate was the weather. Lots to do everyday as the resort has so many cabs and old cars and horses and buggies and you name it .Thank you Memories Jibacoa??

Wonderful experience. Great staff. The layout and grounds are very comfortable as was my room. I found many of the guests had been there many times resulting in a warm family like atmosphere. This is an adult only place and most did their best to behave like one. If possible in this quickly changing world I would be happy to return.

I had a fantastic time! The beach was beautiful, the resort was lovely, staff were so friendly, the food was great, my room was comfortable and I felt well looked after. I would definitely recommend!

Overall good. We have been to Memories Jibacoa about 12 times. However, some problems: Missing pool tiles an ongoing problem for years, sharp edges hazardous to feet in pool. They are working on it. Needs to be repaired once & for all. Of 2 hot tubs only one working for years, cold water only, not heated. Hot tubs when used are often dominated by Cubans, who set up for the day, loudly play their own music, even eating in the hot tub. More & more Cubans present, that's not a problem, but a problem when, they play their own loud music at the pool or beach, they pile up food on their plates & tables, then don't eat it, they but into lines at bars & food stations, not waiting their turn. The resort MUST maintain its ambiance as a quieter, relaxing, adult place to stay, or it will lose its customer base. Workers & staff are generally warm & wonderful, with the exception of a man & a woman who work at the pool bar & tend to be quite surly, as though you're bothering them to get service. The drinks served vary widely in contents & quality depending who makes them. When classes, events were cancelled, there was no announcement to guests or a replacement staff made available. Get Nelson the omelet man new & more fry pans!! In the mornings the wait staff had to go too far for single cups of coffee. But, the coffee had improved in quality. The quality of wines offered could be improved. Especially in the buffet. Need to get the sail boats fixed, get more sail boats & peddle boats that are operating, extend their operating hours, they quit at 2 pm !! No scuba diving on Sundays, this shouldn't happen when there are days during the week there's no diving due to weather. Some of the best weather days, Sundays, there was NO diving available. Villa Tropical/Jibacoa next door dive 7 days a week. Sometimes there are not enough dive guides available. The dive regulators need better servicing, especially o-rings & mouthpieces. Leaks even from high pressure hoses. I know it's Cuba & parts are hard to get, but safety is paramount. More newer loungers needed around the beach. There was less variety of entertainment, no opera, no aqua ballet, no acrobats, etc. What they had was very good though & well done. Dancers work very hard & are very good. Flamenco dancers were a high light. Musicians very good. Missed the piano player in restaurants & piano bar. Grounds & rooms are well cleaned & maintained. Maids & gardeners work very hard & are very pleasant. We still love the resort & most of the workers. Just, don't let it slip! These are areas that need addressing & soon. Despite all, we will be back as we still enjoy it overall.

The hotel and grounds were well kept and everything worked well. The best part was the staff who were all friendly, enthusiastic, and high energy. The entertainers, dining staff, and housekeepers were all very nice and helpful.

This hotel is somewhat outdated, but it is extremely clean and very well maintained. Considering it’s Cuba, the food was very good, and the staff were absolutely excellent—perhaps the best I’ve experienced at any resort. You can tell they are proud to work there; they are enthusiastic, genuine, and consistently welcoming every day. The staff truly make this hotel what it is. Another great feature is the location. The resort is about an hour from Havana, making it perfect for a worthwhile day trip, and the surrounding areas are absolutely stunning. The beach was also very beautiful and easy to walk, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere. This is a very peaceful resort, and I would highly recommend it. Great service, very clean. Fantastic pool and beach! Best resort in Cuba so far for good off shore snorkeling. Food at the buffet is again pretty average but a la cartes are good! Highly recommend paying the extra for premium.

My husband and I had a lovely time. Staff are friendly. The resort is spacious with a number of activities to do: tennis, yoga, snorkeling, diving, hiking, walking, and much more . We'll be back!

Great week at Memories Jibacoa. The food is very nice with thoughtful presentation. I had the best sleeps in a long time during my stay there. Quiet and comfortable room. There were a few indications of the current difficult situation in Cuba...less live entertainment, bring your own shampoo as it is not supplied. I was travelling with just carry on so neglected to bring that. I would return in a heartbeat. Great staff, great location and great memories. What more could you hope for?

The room I had was very quiet, suitable for relaxation, and there was no lack of hot water.. The food is good in the buffet, and the cuisine in 2 of the 3 "reserved restaurants is delicious. There are a good selection of drinks at the bars. All the staff of the resort are very helpful. The weatjer was not good during my stay because of FOUR(!) RED FLAG DAYS ..., the staff, although very efficient, seemed to be a bit rushed, maybe is the resort understaffed? Or too crowded? The drawback was the beach, there were a lot of seaweeds and especially too many plastic bags and other debris on the beach and in the water.

My husband and I needed a break from our hectic lives and some much-needed quiet time together, and this resort was exactly what we needed. The mountain views were absolutely breathtaking, whether we were sitting on our balcony, swimming in the beautiful ocean, or relaxing by the pool with music, the scenery never disappointed. The resort itself was peaceful, and there was entertainment every night. The staff were outstanding, friendly, upbeat, always ready to make you smile, and genuinely appreciative of every tip. As most people know, you don’t go to Cuba for the food, but it was perfectly fine. The only minor downsides were no fries (very disappointing, lol) and no 24-hour snack bar. But overall, you really can’t expect every resort to offer everything. Be sure to hike up the mountain, you won’t want to miss the view! We would definitely go back

I just returned from a fantastic and rejuvenating getaway at Memories Jibacoa. This resort checked off everything I wanted for my solo trip. The location is absolutely picture-perfect — a stunning, clean beach framed by beautiful mountain views. The coral reef right off the shore is incredible for snorkeling! The staff are truly wonderful — friendly, attentive, and hardworking. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re enjoying your vacation. There were no shortages of food or power during my stay, and the meals were fresh and satisfying. If you’ve done your research on Cuba, your expectations will be exceeded here. The rooms are clean and well-maintained with everything you need. Some may find them a bit dated, but I found them comfortable and perfectly adequate. I felt completely safe during my stay and met so many lovely people from all over the world — a great mix of ages, mostly 30+. This resort has such a warm, welcoming vibe. I would definitely return to this hidden gem — it’s the perfect spot to relax, recharge, and enjoy authentic Cuban hospitality!

This was my second time at this older, smaller type resort (about 30 years old) that has been kept in pretty good shape. The grounds are beautiful. The rooms are clean, spacious and well equipped with a decent TV and fridge. The room was nicely cleaned and the fridge stocked with water daily. The beds were quite comfortable with fairly new foam mattresses. I found the pool to be very clean. It is shallow, so no diving. The lobby, buffet and all other facilities were also to my liking. I found everything comfortable. The food in the buffet was more than plentiful and adequate in quality. I had no complaints. The Ranchero (table service) at lunch was also more than adequate in variety and quality. I found the staff to be very friendly and warm. Regarding the beach. It was beautiful and great for snorkeling as there are many reefs with vibrant fish near the beach. However, it is on the rocky side. Not at all like the soft, powdery white sand of Varadero. So take some water shoes. I had a very relaxing time overall. That's what I was looking for.

Had the most wonderful week at Memories Jibacoa. Our flight on Westjet was seamless; we were greeted with warm Cuban hospitality at the resort and were treated like gold. Good food and drinks, fun entertainment and the beautiful beach...who could ask for anything better!

my recent stay at Memories Jibacoa, which unfortunately fell far below expectations due to serious service failures. As a returning guest, I was confident in booking the premium package, paying extra for the benefits and conveniences that were clearly advertised. Unfortunately, these were never provided during my stay. From check-in, the process went wrong. The front desk did not forward our information to the premium team, leaving us to “check in” with them the next morning — only to find no one there. Throughout the day, no premium staff were available, and we were even denied dinner service because our names were missing from the list, despite wearing our yellow premium passes. We were told that if our names had been correctly listed, we would have been seated, even without a reservation. This was not only embarrassing, but also a clear breakdown in communication between departments. It was not until the final day that a premium representative explained the front desk error and detailed the perks we should have had all along. While I appreciate the acknowledgment, the explanation came too late to salvage the experience. The $50 credit offered is insufficient for the complete loss of the premium services I paid for. Additionally, the departure process was needlessly stressful. The package was meant to include late checkout, yet we had to request a spare room to prepare for our flight. Within 10 minutes of entering the room, we were called and told to vacate — an unnecessary and unprofessional disruption. As a paying customer and loyal guest, I am entitled to receive the services promised at the time of booking. This did not happen, and the inconvenience, loss of value, and impact on my overall experience were significant. I am therefore requesting a fairer form of compensation that reflects the full cost of the premium package and the disruption caused. I trust that Memories Jibacoa values its returning guests and will address this matter promptly. I look forward to your proposed resolution Sincerely,

It was a wonderful experience in Jibacoa - first of all, the beach with the reef. You don't need to book a trip as in other hotels - here the reef is literally two steps from the beach. The staff is very friendly and helpful, so the hotel is maintained very well. The food and the three restaurants were great. I was surprised to see The Opera night performance with three wonderful singers performing opera hits and some timeless classics. Thus, I would recommend this hotel for those who want a relaxing and quiet vacation with the amazing underwater reef fish snorkelling experience.

My stay at Memories Jibacoa was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The resort is perfectly nestled between the mountains and the sea, giving it a peaceful and truly unique atmosphere. The service is top knotch , the reef snorkeling and diving was better than we hoped for , the meals were good , the beach was great , no complaints , loved having the dogs and cats around , the premium cafe and a la carts were very good , the le gourmet was our favorite , we will be back next year in February

The hotel was clean, friendlly staffand has a most beautiful beach with great snorkeling. There was so much food and it all tasted great. We will be back next year for sure. Also tennis and pickleball courts .

It's a small resort but very cute and the grounds are very well kept up, neat, clean. The beach is beautiful and amazing there are plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas did not have to fight for any of them. There is a beach restaurant with excellent food. There are three restaurants you need to book two of them are delicious. The Italian restaurant was awful they do not know Italian food or how to cook it. The service desk and people are amazing and helpful and knowledgeable there is even a doctor and nurse on site The rooms are outdated but clean and everyone there is friendly. If you need something you ask and they will not give you a hard time nor attitude We went the last week of April and it was very very hot. Drink lots of water and bring a hat

This resort is well stocked, lots of food. We had lots of bread, ketchup, mustard, even had french fries and pizza. The room was great, water pressure and temperature is good. Staff are amazing, all of them are great! The beach is lovely, great snorkelling, plenty of beach chairs. We will be back!

Absolutely Love this resort . The staff is super friendly and helpful. Very clean rooms and the grounds are kept nice. Food is great , lots of variety, with 3 a la carts and also the Buffett. The beach is really nice with lots of shade and sun for which ever you prefer. Totally recommend this resort . Excellent

We have always thought that this resort looked interesting and had never pulled the trigger…. We’re so glad we did!!! The room was very comfortable and clean. There was ample hot water. The mini fridge was well stocked with water, soft drinks and a couple of beer. Nobody goes to Cuba for fine dining, but the food was very good with lots of choices. There is a bakery onsite and the breads and rolls are delicious!!! There’s a beautiful coral reef right off the beach, a mountain to climb with an amazing view from the top and all sorts of organized daily activities if you’re so inclined. There’s also nightly entertainment that usually finishes up around 10:30. One of the very best things about this resort is the staff. They go above and beyond!!! We can’t wait to go back!!

Loved everything about this resort. We had a bad experience last year at a newer poorly managed one in cuba and happy we gave cuba another chance. It's smaller older and very quaint. We loved the old world charm and the setting and the grounds were stunning. Service, food staff were very good. Did not experience any shortages. Really easy to meet new people. Will definitely return

This was our third stay at this resort and it met our expectations. Some of the key features that we enjoyed are the small resort size, it is adults only and the snorkelling. Being a small resort, it is easy to get to know some of the staff and other patrons during a one week stay. With an older clientele, the resort is fairly quiet. By comparison to other resorts, the buffet had a good selection and no notable shortages. Rooms are dated but clean and fridge was stocked daily. The grounds are very well kept. A la carte restaurants and resort facilities, except one bar under renovation were all open. There is also a dive shop at the beach. Pedal boats and sit on kayaks can be taken out or you can book a ride on the catamaran. There are only two resorts at this location and not much for shopping or eating off-resort. There is a hiking trail up the hill behind the resort which has a nice look off. The main attraction here is the main reef and small coral formations that start just off the beach and provide one of the better easy access snorkelling opportunities in Cuba.

Beautiful, established property with well manicured grounds. Plenty of great and helpful staff to make our stay the best. Buffet and a la carte restaurants—very good with no shortages of anything. Great place if you like to snorkel as there’s a reef across the entire bay just off the beach. Had a great time.

The resort is older but clean The resort is also small so the distance to the beach or main lobby is not far. This resort is for those who want a quiet relaxing vacation.No loud music on the beach or pool. We also liked the fact that the lounge chairs were on the beach rather than having guys set up chairs for you every morning. Snorkelling was amazing right off the beach.They also had tennis and pickle ball. Food was very good with a large variety including chicken and beef. Never a shortage of eggs. Bar was well stocked. Our only complaint was no stationary bike in the gym and the guys who took care of the catamaran always had an excuse why they could not take you out. Would definitely recomend this resort.

We stayed from Dec. 17 to Dec. 28. The resort is well maintained. All staff - dining room, lobby, bars and cleaning staff are very friendly and helpful. The entertainment is very good, but it is much too loud!! We hear it very comfortably in our rooms (whether we want to or not), and it is not an easy listening experience outside at the stage. It only lasts until a little after 10:00pm, so that is good. Tennis: A big thank you to Alberto who brings tennis to Memories. Without him, there would only be 2 tennis courts. He teaches, he hits with us, organizes round robins, makes it possible to meet other players Excellent! Janet

A bit tired yup, pretty quiet yup, secluded in nature yup, these things don’t bother us and we actually enjoy them . If your looking for a nice clean small resort surrounded by mountains with pretty good food then you will like this place. A big perk for us is the great snorkelling and decent beach walks. The staff is great, layout is great, sunwing was the only weak link in our Holliday.

Well. Where do I start. The place is outdated. Run down. But grounds are clean. My room had mini ants on the dresser and in bathroom. Diamond member???? The variety of food at the buffet was good. Excellent pizza. Good ice cream The view from my balcony was suffocating facing two huge mountains . The beach was full of seaweeds. And reeked. And beggars selling goods. As a diamond club member, no service on the beach. Went to the « lunch hut « where they had no ice, no lemonade, no cola. Nice to be a diamond club member!!! I had to get in touch with my air Canada rep to ask to be transferred to Mélia las Américas. I had to pay 240 dollars and 60 dollars US dollars to go to Varadero by taxi. So I lost 3 days of my vacation trying to find another another venue. So I’m upset of the recommendation when sell off vacation was recommending Paradisus as a first choice. As I was there 7 years ago. But I’ve never been disappointed with Tripcental in the past. I guess it was just a mishap. Heather was pleasant to deal with. Not her fault. It was my first time time travelling alone and it’s sad I had to be struggling and was begging to meet with my air Canada representative as I had to get out of there. My rep Alexis Ramos heard my cry. . I will never recommend memories Jibacoa to anyone.

My stay at this resort was great! Good food, exceptional staff...couldn't do enough to help you. The food was good.Always enough choice and tasty! The resort is small which was great for me! I could get from place to place with no problems! It is a smaller, older resort but was clean and fresh. The beach was amazing! So glad I had the chance to experience Memories Jibacoba!

We enjoyed every moment … great people … great service… great friends old and new. We will be back and can’t wait! The weather was perfect as it has been for our last 4 visits and it it so nice to go back to a place where we feel familiar and where we feel at ‘home’.

Such a cute little quaint resort!!! Food really not that bad and it was our first trip to Cuba. The a la carte restaurant 'The Gourmet' must be hands down the best resort restaurant I've ever been to and I've been to Punta Cana and Mexico. The salmon there was top notch and smoked salmon very yummy. The seating at the beach area was amazing, the lady walking (darn, forget her name!) that was walking around getting our drinks was awesome and so friendly! We were diamond club of course so I definitely think that was worth it. Room was great, no bugs, great balcony, AC was awesome, but unfortunately bathroom started leaking so they had us move to another room with a newer AC but it was much louder so I was missing our original room. The food in the buffets was just okay but nothing to complain about, one won't leave hungry. The ice cream is fabulous, the chocolate one is so rich, we made sure to have some everyday. We did a day trip to Havana to see old Havana and new Havana, it was definitely worth renting a classic car and taking 6 hours to do this. See Jenny at the Diamond Club and she'll set you up with the driver Givran and the tour guide Giselle. My God did she ever know her Cuban history, we learned so many interesting things and the ride was so smooth and enjoyable and they had AC in it whereas I heard other cars, the drivers weren't putting it on for their guests, not sure why. All in all, a fantastic trip and I would actually go back! :) The ocean was not inviting though unfortunately, too much slimy seaweed and rocks so we never went in. But I enjoyed the one pool at least, a nice adult resort. : )

This resort is amazing easy to walk through beautiful beach, snorkelling right off the beach the staff you can’t find any better. I really didn’t want to break this beat review because I don’t want everybody going to my resort room a bit dated, but we only sleep in there and shower and their beds are comfy, the food is really good for Cuba. I stayed two weeks and I ate something different every day. Never bored the entertainment at night I’ve seen several times so we didn’t go this time. They always have activities around the pool Aqua fitness, bingo, rum, tastings Spanish lessons, dance lessons, and yoga. This is not a resort for young people. It is quiet and so serene.

Everything is great at this resort although this is is my second time there and we were not able to use the pool or ocean for days after just arriving because of the storm that came in. They worked so hard to get everything back up and running. The pool was ready on the last day of our stay in the later afternoon and we did go in for a short time and we were able to go in the ocean one day. Both are beautiful! It’s a smaller resort so it’s easy to get to everything and the people there are so nice. Nice that it’s an adult resort only too. I love children but sometimes it’s nice to get away with just adults. ? They treat you like family. Always serving with a smile. Hard workers. Great food. Beautiful beach and beautiful views from the ocean view rooms. Everyone is willing to help in anyway. Can’t say enough about f the people that work there and the entertainment is so much fun! Especially the piano bar where there is karaoke, a guitar player who was amazing and a piano player. The bartender Miguel was excellent in serving your drinks! Great resort to go to if you’re looking for a more peaceful and smaller resort.

As usual all about this resort was excellent! - Staff, food, room, grounds etc. This was great vacation. So good to be back (our 11th visit). The food was particularly good. Weather was wonderful. Strongly recommend this resort.

This is the first time I have not had bathroom issues in 20 years of going to cuba that says a lot about the food Great service, great food and entertainment Some rooms could undergo renos but you will not be disappointed staying here:)

Was extremely disappointed. I was severely ill with food poisoning. Cheeses and cold cuts were not kept at the proper temperature. I suspect the food in the buffet was not stored properly. Lots of people were ill. We will never go back to that hotel or to Cuba. A total waste of money and time. Would not recommend. Boring hotel with a lack of activities. Not a 4 star perhaps 2 stars. The entire party of 4 were ill. Varadero disgusting, no toilet seats. Havana dirty, faeces all over the streets

We felt that the Memories Jibacoa was a very intimate and quiet resort. The grounds were clean but nothing spectacular. The service was satisfactory. The staff did not go out of their way to greet us or to serve us during meals. The food was simple. The same food choices for the entire week. Most food was served cold and the buffet staff served you. If you wanted 2 pieces of bacon, you needed to ask for 2 pieces. They had limited choice for non alcoholic beverages. Housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly - they were the ones who provided the best service during our stay. The groundskeeper was always friendly. We would give this resort a 1 out of 5.

First time here to memories Jibacoa on the recommendation of friends and they were bang on. The most friendly and accomodating staff, very clean rooms even though older. We had a beautiful room on the ground floor watching the waves and listening to the carribbean ocean breezes. The grounds were maintained beautifully. We especially liked how small the resort is and accessible. The entertainment group were great. And contrary to the stories about Cuban food… it was delish and well presented.

I know this location since 2001, when I came for the first time. This was my third visit. Comparing with the past, the hotel reception was verry bad and unfair: we arrive at 12:30. very many other tourists arrived after us. Everybody has it's room before 16PM... We had the first one around 15h PM, but not what we were paying for: we want a Park view and we had Pool view. So, we had to await another 30 minutes for the probably worst room in the resort. Toilet clocked, safe no batteries, vanite licking... Just to make our holiday nice, almost daily. Things were fixed each time, but we could have a nicer 10 days, as in the other 2 past visits. The service was excellent, as well as the food! Many thanks for this. However, I would expect more entertainment and more music during the day, even recorded music in the lobby zone. The evening formation that was playing in the evening at the entrance could be a better one... I will probably come back because I love the location and the resort, and I am expecting a nicer reception. By the way, in our last day, we leave at 12AM. A group of tourists already came in with the autocar and they were received with all their rooms ready! So, this is possible. How cam only for us was not?!

Second visit at this location. Somethings have changed, but that’s expected due to CoViD restrictions on travel and the lack of people visiting. All in all, still a fantastic place to visit. The people are of the upmost gracious, friendly, helpful and helpful. Food was good, no shortages. Beach great, rooms are cleaned daily, grounds are well manicured. If you expect more than what Cuba can offer, then don’t go. You’ll just ruin it for potential visitors. My closing comments, I will most definitely visit again. The staff here is top notch. Please go with an open mind.

The grounds of the hotel are well kept, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, although the air conditioning system could use an update. The personnel is courteous and friendly and the food is diversified and tasty. The beach bar is charming and great to grab a bite at any time of the day. At night it transforms into an ¨A la carte¨ restaurant where you can dine while looking at an amazing sunset. There are two other ¨A la carte¨ restaurants on the premise, an Italian restaurant and an international restaurant. They are both great and the service is impeccable. Now for the activities. If you like to look at fishes, you should bring a mask and a tuba because the choral reefs are 15 feet (3 meters) from the shore. You don't need to pay anyone or reserve a catamaran; you just go in the water and watch your personal Jacques Cousteau documentary! You can also borrow a peddle boat, a kayak or a catamaran. There are activities in different area of the resort. They are inscribed on a big panel in the lobby where you can get a great expresso, cappuccino or a drink. I loved my experience and I'm sure you will love it also.

Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation! Fabulous snorkelling on your very own reef, beautiful beach, lush grounds, and surrounding mountains. Truly, the best bread products of any resorts I have ever been to in 6 pre-Covid trips. Egg to order, fresh fruit, fresh fish grilled for you, plenty of choice, no complaints. The after dinner lobby music was great, they travelled between a la carts as well. Staff, professional and wonderful. Loved Heather Felice’s honesty and complete competence in all her dealings making sure we were looking for a lower key resort and all that entails. It was a perfect selection for me. Older resort, but lovely and very clean.

I found the grounds to be very well maintained, picturesque and lush. Nice quiet, safe resort for a peaceful vacation. There was a high level of cleaning and disinfecting apparent. Staff in the dining areas were wearing masks and gloves. Food was delicious with lots of choices daily. The staff was friendly and very polite. The beach was amazing for walking, swimming, snorkelling and spectacular sunsets. Lots of live music to enjoy every evening. I would definitely return to this resort.

The snorkeling is excellent! Beautiful coral reef right there! Beautiful beach! Not a party resort. Very enjoyable. The staff are wonderful! Very friendly, welcoming people. Lots of fun games and activities. The shows at night are fabulous. Very professional! The grounds are well kept. The rooms are clean. Not a super modern resort but very pleasant. Well cared for. The food is good. You may not be able to get your first choice always but there is plenty to choose from. I always felt safe. Walked off resort. Took a vintage cab to a nearby beach, did not feel unsafe. It's a great resort!

We had an amazing experience at Memories Jibacoa. The rooms were spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. All the food, buffet as well as a la carte restaurants were excellent. Found that there was tons of selection and variety in food. Lots of fruit, vegetables and main dishes to choose from. The beach was great and lots of chairs available at the beach. Pool was spotless. Yoga classes were very good . (maybe could be earlier in the morning though). Lots of activities, had a history seminar that was very informative. We had not one complaint about resort and cannot say enough about it. We would recommend this resort and hope to return again.. Resort is very clean but a little older so if you are looking for new and elaborate it is not. Would recommend

We had an amazing time. What impressed us the most was the amount of food and the quality. Such a large variety to choose from. The staff was awesome. Absolutely no complaints about this resort. The grounds staff were working every day to make it look beautiful.

Food was good, grounds were well kept, lots of activities, very friendly staff, clean room, nice pool, wonderful beach with amazing view of the mountains right behind it. Would have preferred less smoking around the pool

We just returned from a week at Memories Jibacoa and are happy with our choice of resort. The location is beautiful with the resort nestled between mountains and the sea. Everything was super clean and maintained, the staff were friendly and helpful, the entertainment was enjoyable and the food was good. The resort is relatively small so everything is close. Our ocean view room was definitely worth the extra charge. No complaints at all with the resort. Travel with Sunwing was frustrating to say the least. We endured a 6 hour delay going and a 2 hour delay coming home. The 6 hour delay was due to a concern with the plane. We ended up moving to a new plane and got to the resort at 3 am. Coming home the delay was due to several crew members calling in sick and having to round up replacements. I don't recommend Sunwing but I do recommend Memories Jibacoa.

Ocean front unit thoroughly enjoyed all facilities. Enjoyed tennis lessons and games and thanks to Alberto the tennis pro. He was a great coach helped with lessons in a very friendly and enjoyable time. Food was good particularly the gourmet meals.

This was our 5th time visiting this resort (formerly called Breezes Jibacoa)and it could well be the best time we’ve had yet. The resort is located half way between Varadero and Havana nestled within 2 green hills on a beautiful beach that has excellent snorkelling. There are some small reefs just a few feet from shore and larger ones further out. The Garden view rooms overlook these beautiful hills and many we spoke to prefer these to the ocean view. The rooms are dated but very clean. There were no problems getting beach chairs/palapas and so reserving with a towel was not necessary. The food was exceptional with plenty of choices for all 3 meals. We were surprised to see beautiful green salads and other fresh veggies for lunch and dinner every day. There are plenty of tables in the airy outdoor area which is where we sat for most meals. Some of the kitchen staff wore masks (for their own sake)but others did not. I didn’t see any patrons wearing masks at any time. At the various stations (salad bar, desert bar, sandwich bar,etc), they had masked servers holding the tongs and each patron had to specify what they wanted on their plate..I think this was an attempt to reduce the number of hands that touch those tongs. This caused a little contention at busy times but generally worked well. The musicians that played just outside the lobby area every evening were very good. One thing that I didn’t like was the entertainment group that took over the ranchon restaurant at noon on Tuesdays with a very loud musical performance spearheaded by a very loud irritating MC yelling into the mic. How could anyone enjoy and digest their lunch with such a racket all around them. I would suggest that this performance be performed elsewhere - at the pool or on the beach beside the beach bar. I must say that some people seemed to enjoy it..but not me. All in all, this was a fantastic trip with nice weather, great food and accommodation.

This resort was likely a great 5 star in its day. It is a beautiful property nestled between some picturesque hills and the shoreline. The facility is older and worn - however...it is maintained and very clean and the staff are what gives this a big cuba 5 stars plus. The food was plentiful and actually tasty (biggest surprise). Our bed was rock hard and the staff rectified the issue immediately. The clientele were for the most part 50 plus and quieter than at most resorts - you could hear yourself talk..at the pool restaurants, lobby etc. The entertainment was great and there was no over the top excessive noise or drunk rude people. The beach was sandy with some areas more with the tiny broken shells and coral pieces... overall - nice beach. The ocean is a snorkel paradise with an abundance of tropical fish and clear water. We really loved it overall... will definitely go back!.... now - that said. If you are looking for a newer un-aged property with parties and loud music - keep looking. If you want beauty with great food and staff and pleasurable relaxation with respectful older clients - Jackpot!

Overall we had a nice stay ! Food was good (we were worried about this mostly). Activities were great (snorkeling directly at the beach, pedalo, kayak, ping pong, tennis, billard, activities at the pool, a hiking nearby with a point of view of the resort). No rain except the last day in the evening. In general, very satisfied with our stay. Only negative points were the shower not draining water fast enough and the shower curtain was not waterproof so floor was wet after a shower.

Amazing place for snorkelling from beach. Definitely will come again. Nice small resort for adults who don’t enjoy big crowds. Nice and clean. Only negative would be limited offer of drinks - no mojito or pina colada.

Clean room, very tidy property. The beach was well looked after even after stormy weather. The staff was friendly and seemed well-trained. We enjoyed the ability to paraglide the local ridge and land at the beach near the resort. The entertainment in the evenings was professional level.

We had an amazing time at the Memories Jibacoa! Staff are friendly and provide great service! The grounds and pool are beautiful and very clean and well maintained. We had a beautiful Ocean View room. Rooms are clean and spacious and have all amenities! There was a good selection of food and beverages at the buffet, a la cartes and bars. We enjoyed the entertainment - lots of daily fun and games as well as a variety of great evening shows, The piano bar is a great place to relax and enjoy some entertainment! We would highly recommend this resort!

Everything great people and food . Beach was beautiful! A little rocky near the water Snorkelling right off the beach 2 reefs. Close to airport. Would definitely recommend- already have . May book for next year

Great vacation for a trip to Cuba. Food was ok. Beach beautiful. Staff very friendly. Water sports amazing. Rooms outdated but the view amazing. Day trip to Havana was fun and very informative.

Had an amazing time at Memories Jibacoa! The staff , food , resort was fantastic ! Staff were super friendly and helpful ! Resort was clean and well organized! We had Hurricane Ian visit us while we were there ! Everyone there were super informative and organized during the days leading to the hurricane ! Food was given the night before the hurricane was to hit and everything in place to ensure our safety ! I felt safe and calm knowing we were in good hands ! A big shout out to all staff at Memories Jibacoa !! I will definitely go back!!

Our overall impression was pretty positive. The resort is a bit dated but clean. The room had everything we needed except the coffeemaker was broken. Other people complained about little things like a broken balcony handle or a leaking fridge (typical for Cuba). The beach is nice and spacious with a lot of shade from trees. A good thing is that you do not have to save spots -there's plenty of room for everyone all day long. The coral reef is amazing - if you choose this resort, take snorkeling gear with you! The food was rather monotonous but you do not go to Cuba for food. Entertainment is high quality (again, typical for Cuba). The service is pretty good, the staff is friendly and helpful. We were particularly impressed with our Sunwing rep, Milena. She went above and beyond to make us happy and spent as much time with us as we needed. Many thanks to her for taking her time t answering our numerous questions and finding the right excursions for us! In general, it was worth the money.

All of the amenities in this hotel were lovely; rooms, grounds personnel, food, ocean, shows etc. The food is served to you by masked staff, and when walking through the dining area, you were required to wear your mask. One small annoyance was that some of the food lines were a little long.... having waited 15 minute to get your meat grilled, there was another line for bead, then another for salad etc. If you are a person who is content to stay put at a lovely resort, this place is ideal. For anyone who likes a bit more local colour and the availability of tours, either Varadero or Havana might suit better.

I chose this particular hotel (Memories Jualisco) for the location. I wanted to be close to Havana and I wanted a resort where I would be able to snorkel right from the beach. This resort did not disappoint! The snorkeling was great, lots of fish and nice coral to see right in front of the hotel. The beach was excellent and great for swimming and cooling off, with a nice sandy bottom and calm waters to play in. The hotel is very nicely laid out and everything is within a five minute walk to either the beach or the main lobby and restaurants. Lots of bars to choose from, however they were sometimes out of certain items so drinks were limited. In fairness this could be contributed to the import difficulties due to COVID. The restaurants were all good, although I missed the food spices (bring your own) and some condiments. They did not have everything every day, but they managed to keep the salad bar, pasta bar, dessert bar and meat selections well stocked. Excellent selection of fresh fish & meats for grilling every day. The rooms are dated, but very large and functional. Not a lot to do at the resort, but it was great for relaxing (no Boom Boom music all day). However, as I wished Havana is only 45 minutes away. You can get a vintage taxi with driver and guide for a day trip into Havana for $120 Cdn. Our only disappointment is that the evening entertainment was really poor. This could be due to COVID, but the last two times we were in Cuba the evening entertainment was fantastic at both resorts.

A solid 4 star resort. The main draw for us here is the reef to snorkel on. Never fails to impress. The resort was well run and they are coping well with shortages in Cuba. Food was plentiful and COVID protocols were strictly adhered to. Buffet is open but the tables are roped off about 3 feet so you point and they put the food on your plate. Not sure if I ate more or less because of it 😊. This was our 4th visit and and 5th may be in the future for us at some point.

We stayed at Memories Jibacoa April 25-May 1. This was our 4th stay and we were not disappointed. The resort is lovely and the staff are great. We did lots of snorkelling and enjoyed relaxing on the beach. The hotel and staff take Covid precautions seriously, which we really appreciated. Masks are required in common areas and are worn by all staff. The food is good and we were able to eat every meal outside, which we really enjoyed. We opted for Diamond Club, which was worth the extra cost. The room was comfortable and we had a fabulous ocean view. We highly recommend Memories Jibacoa for a relaxing vacation.

We just spent a week at this resort- I was appreciative of the protocols in place to keep everyone safe. The cleanliness and on-site staff was abundant. Very relaxing atmosphere- not a place to go if you want to venture out and do stuff like horse back riding etc.

We had a great time in the water checking out the fish that were near shore and walk in scuba dives at a good price. Although the beach wasn't comparable as in Varadero due to the coral, for the most part it did not inhibit us from wading in it waist height until the start of the coral. Covid wise all the staff were super masked yet accommodating for most of the resort (except the buffet area) for clients, that is until you sat down to eat. Staff was courteous and already to help and rooms was kept cleaned daily. PS be sure not to leave any things around that might be misinterpreted as a gift/ tip to staff as a few things were picked up by them and it's hard to ask for it again, especially if you only notice it after a few days. A guided sail, and outdoor yoga to start the day was a welcomed and relaxing daily event. Also as an adult resort only was nice

After visiting many different locations in Cuba over the years, I'd have to say this resort was top notch in many ways. Location, scenery, grounds, amenities, staff, entertainment were all exceptional.

We have been to this resort 9 times. This was our first time back since covid started. The resort was in great shape beautiful gardens and a number of upgrades tile by the stage, painting through out the resort room improvements. Food was very good I was suprised considering how difficult things have been in Cuba. The staff as always were amazing and it was wonderful to see so many friends. Great vacation and look forward to our next trip back to Jibacoa.

I went there with a group of my teammates in cycling and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Furthermore the roads in that area were great for cycling compared to other locations we have been to in Cuba. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

The resort is very nice for Cuba! Because of our unplanned late arrival due to Sunwing screw up with luggage that started in Toronto. By the way, Sunwing is terrible on so many levels. Because we had to sit at Veradero airport waiting to see who was getting their luggage from plane, which Sunwing rep could have taken care of this for the travellers at airport and all four buses could have been on their way to their hotels rather than everyone sitting waiting for the people with missed luggage it file themselves with lost luggage office at airport. So, when we finally get to hotel and check in, we were told there is a snack bar. Finally after walking around a dark resort, we locate the tiny snack bar. The snack consisted of a ham and cheese panini. That was all there was offered. Got to say, it was good. The food is good at all three meals at buffet. The wine could be improved at dinner. Staff are great! Rooms were nice and clean. We didn’t like the two levels of customer service for the Diamond Club and regular customers. This was very dominant in everything that has to do with customer service and drinks. This resort is not inexpensive to stay there and I expected better alcoholic beverages. The internet was a hit and miss in lobby only. Hard to log in to internet do ArriveCan which is important to leave Cuba. Not a five star resort but a good 3.5 star resort.

This is our 10th time to this resort. It is like going home. Amazing snorkeling from the beach. The pool is pristine, as are the rooms. The staff cannot do enough to make sure that everything is a 10. Covid protocols were in place. All staff were and guests were masked in public areas. Buffet is served by masked and gloved attendants. Will definitely return again.

The staff is always what makes Cuban resorts so appealing. Fantastic covid training for all staff. Everyone masked 100% and constant sanitizing. The setting and the grounds were beautiful. Food was really well done considering Covid shortages and the fact that is is Cuba. Rooms were clean and comfortable and A/C worked great. Beach cleaned daily and always plenty of lounges at the pool and the beach. The only downside was the number of day passes and short term passes being issued. The vibe at this resort is a quiet older crowd so it was really noticeable when midway through the week a lot of younger locals started hanging out in groups around the pool and lobby. The inebriation was apparent and the garbage (empty plastic cups, and half filled drinks) left around the pool was annoying. I understand the hotel has an obligation to keep the resort full but hopefully, when Covid starts to diminish, and more rooms are taken by longer term bookings, it will reduce the short term passes for this resort. Highly recommend this resort if you can pick it up at a good price.

The food was delightful. OmG try the steak at the a l a carte!! Wonderful pool. Very large room. A very beautiful well kept resort deserving 5stars. Sadly too many jellyfish and rough waters to snorkel. We prefer a quieter resort and sadly memories wasnt. We would go back to it though as we found many quiet spots to hide out in.

The hotel is located alongside only one other hotel. This makes the beach great for walking. There are no crowds at all and we felt we were on vacation. From the moment we arrived the service that was provided was second to none. We took the Diamond Club and the staff was outstanding starting with the easy check-in. The room was very comfortable and clean. All the rooms are close to the pool area, the beach, and the restaurants/buffet. We went snorkeling right off the beach and the water was warm and clear. We also used the peddle boats and went sailing on the Hobie Cat. You can also take out a kayak and snorkeling equipment. No reservations were needed and they were always available. The staff at the beach bar who brought drinks and worked at the bar were outstanding. As the hotel was not full there were many empty chairs and therefore, there was lots of space between you and other guests. You also did not have to get up early to save a chair at the pool or at the beach. The food at the beach was very good. We ate mostly at the A la carte restaurant. The food and service were great. At the buffet, they have staff to serve you and you point out what you would like to eat. No guests are handling the food. All staff was wearing masks all of the time. The Covid tests and results were provided at the hotel. We stayed there for one week and will go back again.

The Resort itself was incredibly clean for an older resort. I can't say enough about the housekeeping services! I'd give them a 10+ star rating! The grounds, pool and beach are beautiful! Great walking either on the beach or on the road surrounded by the high hills. The food, well what can i say, so plesantly surprised at the abundance of It! There should be no bad reviews on this whatsoever! Beverages, well, pretty much the same quality as most resorts unless you upgrade to Diamond Pkg. Oh, and the Manager of the Memories Jibcoba, he was amazing! Interacted with the vacationers and even participated singing and dancing with the local musicians sometimes including his staff! Now I know why there are so many repeat visitors year after year!

We went week of Feb 13th to MJ .was amazing to wake up every morning seculed within the mountainous vegitation along the palm trees and awesome beach. Coral reefs and amazing snorkling made our week plus the staff in every way went above and beyond to cater to our every need . Rooms were clean and well maintained during our stay. No complaints only that we had to leave;(

Wasn't sure what to expect in Cuba because I heard good and bad about it. But glad I went to c for myself,it was a good experience. The resort was great,hotel and grounds very well kept and clean,all staff were great some were amazing so happy and friendly.Food was good,good selection at buffet, went to 2 ala cart restaurants,disappointed in one because they only had one cook that night and we waited almost 1 1/2 hour for dinner,no one explained why till we asked.Over all good experience,glad I went,wish I was still there.

The outstanding feature of this resort is the staff, they are like family to us. This was our eighth visit there. Besides the staff we also enjoy the size of the resort, which is small and the fact that it is adults only. We really like how cozy this resort is. A great place for a relaxing vacation.

This is a fun resort to go to, lots of talented entertainment and food is really good! The age group is mostly 40 and up but saw some young ones there too .The ala Carte restaurants were excellent and the grounds and plantation well kept and very clean. The rooms were a bit dated , and ours had some things were need for repair but plenty of hot water. Great snorkelling reef off the beach and love the 2 bars down at the beach. I would recommend this resort .

This resort provides great meals, a bountiful buffet and great location for those who love snorkelling. Rooms a well maintained and have great views. Staff are courteous and helpful. The beach has an amazing coral reef starting close to shore. Recommend “Diamond Club” package.

Resort was ok. It was well kept and nicer than other resorts I’ve stayed at in Cuba. If I had a choice I would go to other Caribbean islands instead. The food was not great but that is to be expected in Cuba. The staff were friendly and always willing to help.

This is a quiet resort with no close towns near by. It is very dated and the pool is missing a lot of tiles so watch your feet. Food is good with International restaurant being the best. Beach is great and the snorkeling is amazing.

The grounds are amazing, looks like the very best botanical gardens , I would compair to the ones we saw in London, England. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful. By the 2nd day they were family. Always happy and say Hola to you. The manager Kiki (very handsome ) just ask for anything and it is done. The rooms are very nice and the housekeeping staff are the best. And what can I say about the food & drinks, I gained 5 lbs Lol. Thank you for a great time

I had such a beautiful week in Memories Jibacoa beach resort in Santa Cruz, Cuba. The staff made us feel so welcome from the moment we arrived. The amount of bars and restaurants never left us short of places to drink and eat, the pool was well maintained and had a spectacular view of the mountains surrounding us. The beach was very clean and well kept and gave us the tropical atmosphere that we were hoping for. The entertainment everyday gave us something to do whether it was trivia by the pool, games on the beach or the live shows every night. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made every effort to answer questions and help us make our stay even more enjoyable. Overall I was Extremely happy with my stay and would definitely consider coming back again!

All the staff at the resort were amazing!! So kind and accommodating!! They really made my solo stay a very pleasant experience!! I will definitely be going back one day. The nightly entertainment really pleasantly surprise me. There was a themed show every night. A lot went into each and every one - choreography, costume design/makeup and audience interaction!!

The accommodations were very good and well maintained. The three á la carte restaurants were excellent and Le Gourmet restaurant exceptional. The staff all over the resort is very conscientious and helpful, but some are even more attentive than others, friendly, but always professional.

My most humble and sincere thanks to all the staff at Memories Jibacoa. The perfect home like resort where I am spoiled and pampered on a daily basis. Great staff make for wonderfully clean rooms, many exciting beach activities, superb nightly entertainment and super great meals. The Diamond Club dinner and all special perks were amazing and so very appreciated by me. Meeting new friends, catching up with returning guests are all part of the charm and mystique of this tropical gem. Gracias David, Kiki, Sara y toda la familia. You will always have a special place in my heart.

We have been there ten times and was great when it was Breezes Jibacoa. Since it has changed to Memories it started going down hill. This time was the worst. Have no fault with the staff, room, cleanliness of entire resort. The beach is terrible, the food was a struggle the entire time with cold food that was supposed to be hot and cold food was lukewarm.Thank heavens for the specialty restaurants although the portions were tiny. Everyone was complaining about everything. They have cut out a lot of stuff that we enjoyed like Oktoberfest, theme nights and fun games by the pool.

Upon arriving at the hotel I do not think people were greeted properly. I had also gotten diamond club daily which was not explained properly upon arrival which led to some confusion. The grounds and location of this resort are beautiful and nicely taken care of. Some other things they need to change are the pool closing at 7 pm which is ridiculous and lack of daytime interaction with guests. I also did not like how the animals at this resort are treated,I do understand they are technically strays but come on there is no need they cannot put water and some food down it is very cruel and gut wrenching to watch. The food overall for Cuba was average and the beach was spectacular.
