We had an amazing stay at this resort and truly enjoyed every moment. From the moment we arrived, the staff were welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. The check-in process was smooth, and we immediately felt relaxed and well taken care of. The resort itself is beautiful, clean, and very well maintained. Our room was comfortable, spacious, and spotless, with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The food was excellent, with a great variety of options every day, and the restaurants offered a wonderful dining experience. We especially loved the atmosphere — peaceful, enjoyable, and perfect for both relaxation and fun. There were plenty of activities, great entertainment, and lovely areas to sit and enjoy the views. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and created wonderful memories. We would definitely return and highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.

Grounds are beautifully kept.lobby is empresive,bright and clean.rooms needs to be upgraded,needs fresh coat of paint although in notice they started doing that in the upper floors.theres one problem by the dining room Area,there’s offensive odor coming from underneath those counters where they displays the foods,this has to be addressed.

everything was good, even the food choice was good. The only problem are the mattress.They were really not comfortable. Other than that the employees were friendly and the animation team were doing a great job to entertain when it was raining.

Well half the resort was closed to renovations which limited a lot and 1 less pool. Beach was beautiful. Room was fine and ac and wifi worked well. Pools really needed maintenance. But I only paid $439 so worth the price

Brisas del Caribe was more than we were hoping for! Last minute booking and not so great reviews for Cuba. Beautiful beach. Rooms a little outdated but the food was great and drinks plentiful! I say go for it! Will be returning

The only thing going for that resort were the workers.The place was falling apart,no food or tissues.RUSSIANS everywhere.They were drunk and loud the entire time ?Music didn’t start till late morning and was crappy.No games.All the drinks were watered down,even the pop!!!

Unless you’re Russian,l do not recommend this place.They took over the place,music and all.The little food u get at the buffet is gone in minutes,because they would line up and as soon as the doors open would take three plates each leaving scraps.Thats if they didn’t already bush u out of the way.The staff were really nice but the resort was really run down.Everything was watered down and noooooo napkins?

It is a beautiful comfortable quiet spacious place. The hotel is 45 min away from Varadero Airport, right on an awesome white sand beach = the 3rd one on the Varadero stretch, with lots of palapas and beach chairs. Very well maintained green grounds and several different shape and size pools. Unfortunately I visited in January and did not try the water as some "brave" young people did. But it looked very clean as they cleaned it every day. Rooms are spacious, with a fridge, balcony, furniture/beds are good, A/C, lots of TV channels Common areas are pleasant and comfortable to sit and rest. Food is really good, with big variety, always fresh and abundant.Tropical fruits-papaya, pineapples, fresh veggies, everyday freshly prepared bagguetts and pastries, often barbeque too. Nice souvenir stores. Staff is incredibly kind and helpful and will go extra mile to suit your needs and demands. Lots of smiles and good vibes from everyone there. I would not doubt going again if I get the chance but also I recommend it to everyone as one of the very good 3* hotels in Cuba where I went now for 18 time!

The resort is exactly as it has been for the past five trips that we have been there, the staff are friendly and helpful, there was no problems with food or drinks, Weather was excellent. Will be going back again.

They first day. The food unedible, even bottled water. The hotel rooms run down and old. The salad in invisible. I am so sorry to see how bad things have gotten in Cuba. Medical care # 1 with compassion. These ppl are so crushed and over worked. It is sad to go there. The smell, the air filled with urine and gasoline. Ppl working 14 hour days so hot. The place is dirty and unkempt and the employees are too exhausted to try.

This was my 3rd stay at Brises del Caribe, near Varadero, Cuba. The hotel staff are great; warm & courteous. Quick to serve you, or resolve issues as they arise. My only issue, there were not too many who spoke basic English. I speak basic Spanish, so I could get by, but my 3 travel companions were only English speaking. Otherwise I would definitely return here, & invite others to join me!

Just got home two days ago, was my 2nd visit to this resort. Room 345, not a single issue! Tipped the maid $5cdn and treats almost every day and received more the enough water bottles of water each day, as well as toilet paper. Beer and soft drinks in fridge as well!! Wonderful staff from Maikel Cuba Ramirez to the reception, maids, animation team, and bartenders. Beach was gorgeous as always for Varadero. However there was this one Russian who left her stuff on 3 different beach beds for hours. I did respectfully move her stuff off of one and used it. She wasn’t happy when she finally came back but I just acted like I didn’t understand the language 😂 The food was good and plentiful. Fresh fruits and veggies, chicken, pork, fish, and beef! I was disappointed to see how many guests DONT TIP! I just find it completely tacky as I’ve been in the service industry for years. Even a little goes a long way. Plan for it.

Everything was amazing after covid felt so safe, room cleaned everyday. Aida hairstylist is amazing, Jorge the amazing egg man can’t ask for a better omelet,,Julio best waiter in resort. Pool entertainment is amazing. Clean beach . Lots to eat. Wonderful shows every night at 10 pm lots for kids to do

First time at this resort. The staff was great and so is the resort. I have been to many resorts over the years. I have stayed in Hostels and in 5 star resorts. This Resort is middle of the road. I will say. It was clean. The service is good. The A La Carte and everyday open BBQ lunch is really good. It is close to the beach and the pools are clean. All and All. I had a good experience and would recommend it for the price.

The grounds, pool, beach were great, however the management and food was terrible.No toast, jams, syrup etc all food the same everyday, 3 times a day. No glasses no spoons, toilet paper at a premium.Only rum and beer, and I could go on and on. We will not be going back. Russian owned and mostly Russians there, no English spoken

Hotel was busy and was not ready for so many people. In the all bars was not enough glasses. In dining area was not any cups for coffee or tea. They served beverages in glass. Entertainment very poor. Food was exceptionally good . All areas was very clean. Was not enough beach towels. Three stars max .

We booked in all inclusive trip from Toronto to veridara Cuba at this Resort needless to say it was not all inclusive if we wanted anything extra we had to pay for it everyday for breakfast dinner lunch it was rice and beans Meats vegetables or fruit the food handling practices were atrocious there is always a shortage of dishes glasses and cups or silverware a lot of the time there was no toilet paper in our room or in the public bathrooms he had to chase the maids down to get water the elevator was broken a couple of times my friends is diabetic and was unable to get snacks when required the snack bar only provided dried out stale sandwiches the first room we were put into was at the back of the resort right close to the pool and entertainment area very noisy very windy mold in the bathroom .toilet wouldn't flush properly .bugs in tub and sink . main door wouldn't lock we were switched to another room which was much nicer I must say the staff were beautiful but I would never stay there again

First, I’d like to say that the staff is a 10/10 (the only 10/10 I’d give to this place).Really nice and accomodating. Now for the hotel: I think we must have been the only people there that didn’t ask to change room even if ours wasn’t really better.. (mold, door broken, springs comig out of the bed, no water, etc.) We knew that Cuba was experiencing a shortage on foods and goods so we didn’t make a big deal about the low (really low) diversity of food and drinks, just to find out every other resorts were doing fine. At ours, it was impossible to get anything to drink at the restaurant (fanta only) and the bars didn’t have anything else than rum & coke/fanta. A pina colada if your lucky when it just opened up. A la carte resautant are never open, and when they are they all serve the same thing: chicken. Discotheca / Piano bar/ cigar bar were close the entire week even if it’s the high season, so not much to do after dinner than staying in the lobby or going to town, wich is 40$ canadian for the ride to go and back. Other than that, beach is beautiful and staff is nice. Altough, if you are looking for your only vacation of the year, you may reconsider something a little more confortable and fun for the same price..

The resort was excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. To all the hotel staff, specially the entertainment, pool and the food was surprisingly good. Brought spices and didn't even have to open any of it. Only down fall was always shortage of cups so bring your own and drink selections were blah.

Unfortunately, I only have past experiences with resorts or all inclusives in Mexico. Many holiday's in Bahamas, Canada, England and the USA. I'm honestly at a lost of words to express my disappointment.

Spent another wonderful week at Brisas del Caribe our 22nd time to this amazing place. Beach is beautiful. Grounds looking the best we have ever seen. Staff are 5 star. We are treated to a suite that is simply beautiful. Only 120 guest most of the week so no lineups for food, bars or washrooms. Food was great in the buffet with Jorge making the best omelets ever. A la carte restaurant food was very good but shortage of wine all week. Treatment in a la carte restaurants by staff was perfect.

This resort is amazing. Just got back from our 12th visit there. Staff is #! ground and pool areas well taken care of. I would recommend this resort it is a great place to spent your vacation. Michael and Celine go above and beyond to ensure you are happy and enjoying your vacation. Johnnie and Jennifer in the VIP lounge are awesome. And the coffee/bar staff is the best anywhere Alberto Alfredo Miquel and all the others to many to name.

The staff was amazing as always ,our room was clean, beach was fanyastic. 2 issues i noticed one the staff serving the buffett were confused on who was in line first and afew times we waited 15 min to get served because of ppl jumping in line. Not big issue but for some it was, the other issue is the elevator, well it closed on me and squished me pretty good making my drink go all over, the second time i was trying to hold it open fir a older couple and it closed on my arm causing damage to it,pulled the skin off of my wrist,it will not open if held, iwent to the dr, would not do anything unless i gave her 25 canadian dollars for a tylenol for later cuz it will hurt on the way home, I asked for ointment gauze and bandage and again she said 25 canadisn dollars for tylenol for way home it will be sore, so i went to the bar. Got rum and cleaned it with that. Later that evening a lady bartender. Tended to my exposed skin where it was ripped off with ointment and bandaid, and did not ask for money, i will add my insurence was denied by dr. Over all other then the elivatore accidents and wait for food it's was a great visit

We just got back from Cuba after a 2 week vacation and had a wonderful time. The staff is the best they go out of their way to do anything they can for you and are the friendliest people. The room was great and kept very clean. They have Covid measures in effect. Tables, chairs and public areas are sanitized regularly, the staff all wear masks and are fully vaccinated. Lots of hand sanitizer all over the resort. Mind you some of the guests did not think that mask wearing applied to them. We felt safer in Cuba during Covid then we do at home. The grounds and the pool are well maintained and the beach is beautiful. No shortages of food and it was good. Always had lots of beer and Rum no shortages there. We are thinking of returning in May.as we loved it there.

The hotel complex is very large and with beautiful landscaping and pristine beach.The only problem here is that this resort is filled with rude russians that pushed their way in front of any line up especially the buffet.Most staff are very nice and also the guards especially Yueinsky and Luis who were extremely helpful to arrange safe transportation for us.Lots of insects at this resort so dont forget bug spray.Lots of people walking around with tons of welts from insect bites.I will not go back because of the infestations of Russians. They were noisy and getting into trouble where police had to show up and have him removed from the resort because due to to his intoxication he was touching other female guest.

This was probably our worst experience in Cuba to date. It was our eighth trip and typically are satisfied with our expectations. This trip was very different. The hotel was overbooked so they had people in rooms that weren’t fit fur animals. The desk staff didn’t care. They would stand talking to each other and ignore the people at the desk. We were to have VIP privileges and that DID NOT exist. Very disappointed. This resort is no longer “Canadian” visitors. Many people from Russia and VERY rude to others and staff.

We have been here 3 times and the service from the staff is the best. The dancers at night are amazing, the staff at the coffee bar and all the indoor bars are awesome! The beach is very close to the hotel and there's a daily bbq with a bar right behind it! Our room cleaner Lydia always made our room spotless and left cool towel arrangements on our bed everyday which was a nice touch. The front entrance staff and the bell hops are very helpful.

We spend very nice week at Brisas del caribe Varadero Cuba. Service was good and the resort well maintain for Cuban standard. Staff was friendly and helpful. We are four years in the round in Cuba an we love the country.

We stayed at this resort for one week. We found the grounds nicely laid out spacious. The gardeners were always busy looking after them. Even though we didn't use the pools they were very clean and well taken care of. Plenty of lounge chairs. We like to spend time on the beach & water rather than the pool. The beach is beautiful. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Even though we had room issues resulting from lack of maintenance, it was a nice place. These issues were dealt with by the Guest Relations manager and we came to an acceptable agreement between us.The dining room definitely needs to be enlarged for weekend crowds. Omelettes seem to be a favourite for all and so need to have more than one grill to do these. That way you wouldn't have to stand in line up for 15 minutes. The same goes for lunch and dinner grills. There are no reefs close to the beach on all of Varadero. But you can hire a hobie cat to go to the reefs @ $20 CUC/$28 Cad. per person for 45 minutes of snorkelling. We will more than likely take our family here in July.

Our room out by the highway flooded due to rain on the second night. Our handle broke so we couldn’t get in and out of our room. Our safe didn’t work so we had to take our passports to a friends room that did work. Thank god we were moved to a somewhat better room closer to our group of ladies but it took most of the day to do it. We either ran out of water to shower or only had a trickle of cold water to shower. The public bathrooms were a mess most of the time! This would be a hard job for the cleaning staff to keep up with for sure. If the garbage cans could have been bigger to keep up with all the toilet paper mess that would have been great,although the bathroom stalls are very tiny and couldn’t accommodate a large can. No beer at the beach bar was a bummer! We always had to run up off the beach to the pool bar to get beer! There was always something I could find to eat. The beach was amazing! The waves rolling in after the Havana tornado was something to see! That was a scary night of whistling winds in Varadero let me tell you! The staff were amazing and accommodating and friendly! They put up with all of us after all! 😄 Overall we were a group of 21 ladies who had a lot of great memories shared here

We have read a great deal of complaints about the Resort, we have none. First off do research the Hotels and resorts on the Island. Research specifics about the Island, its inhabitants, and customs. This was our fourth year at the Resort, same time every year. The staff are incredible, recognizing us year after year. We always book the VIP package, it provides ease for simple things like beach towels and water to drink. Unlike the Dominican, the resorts are not piled on top of each other. Beach is kept clean, water is very clear, with additional water sports. Lots of room,not one million tourists overcrowding the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean. The Maid could not have been more friendly, and helpful. Always a warm smile, and always a good morning or other salutations. You can see that from previous years they are continuing to paint and renovate. The grounds are immaculate. Staff maintain the grounds, and always friendly, even if their English is minimal. The buffet restaurant is very busy, and you can see how they continue to make use of leftovers for the following day. Do not think for a moment, that the food would be anything, compared to North America, or Europe. Do not be afraid to try items that you do not recognize, you may be pleasantly surprised. Would we go again. Yes in a heart beat.

The Hotel was older, but clean with nice, clean grounds. Dining area was quite big and easy to manipulate. Our room was dated, but clean. I would go back there again as the service was excellent, the beach was tremendous and the grounds were very clean with excellent pools.

Do not go to this resort unless you are booking vip. Was put in multiple different rooms and they were all so disgusting. No lights, no air conditioning, holes in the walls, ants, moldy ceilings. Vip rooms were nice. However they decided to stop restocking our water after 2 days. Most staff were great but some were very disrespectful. Food was not bad, on some occasions found hair still attached to the meat. Beach is beautiful but not enough chairs. Would not recommend this place to anyone unless they stay vip, but for that price there are much nicer places to stay.

I was actual shocked by the room I was first given. Full of mosquitoes, mouldy, lights weren’t working etc. I was given another room after 2 hours of waiting. This resort should be taken off the Sunwing vacations as an option. What is Sunwing’s criteria? Has anyone from Sunwing actually looked at some of the rooms? I don’t care how inexpensive the resort is, it’s not up to Canadian standards. It’s a NO star resort. I would never ever book here again, even if it is upgraded. It is disgusting. I should have taken the reviews I read on Trip Advisor seriously. Run the other way was the one I should have listened too.

The hotel was just as we had imagined realĺy, of course it's not fancy or anything but it was clean and mostly efficient service. Our son was unwell on the first day and we were very quickly moved to a brighterroom within the actual hotel and not in the cabins. The pools were clean but cold but the beach was utterly breathtaking and is a stone's throw away from the hotel. It had everything we needed and it was cheap. We didn't need to see.d any money when we arrived other than tipping. We would absolutely return to Cuba.

We stayed at Brisas for 3 nights then we decided to move to another hotel. The rooms and food had changed drastically from when i was going there 16 yrs. ago so we expressed our concerns to the Sunwing Rep ( Maria) and she upgraded us for a very minimal fee to "Grande Memories" and it was a huge difference and we were very happy with that resort.

We just spent a week at Brisas, it was our 3rd time there over10 years . The staff is very friendly only a few were aloof, not rude just hand you your drink with no eye contact or any interaction. While we never went hungry or had any stomach issues you have to wonder why we didn't. Some food not kept warm or not cooked to a high internal temperature. Too often there is still food stuck on the clean plates which is more than I can handle. The pools are not cleaned ever that we saw and 2 were closed all week. Very green and full of leaves and such. Spent the week in the awesome ocean. Truthfully the biggest issue is not the resorts problem. Canadians are a tiny minority compared to the Russians. We even had some toss all of our stuff on the sand and take our loungers while we had a swim. They jump in front of you in line and are loud and terrible while they smoke at the non smoking bar. Of course the staff won't intervene. The resort is worth it's price and the staff are awesome, they just need to cover the small details better.

had a great visit back at brisas del caribe for our 14th time over years, great people just like family to us. food much better and of course drinks were fantastic too. keep up the great work and tks to jenn black at trip central.see ya next year!!!!!!!!.

Only been back 2 days and wish we could have stayed even 2 more weeks. My 2 grand daughters loved it, 13-15. The staff was great!! Food was good. Music and entertainment was awesome!! Our maid treated us like family!!

The grounds at Brisas del Caribe are beautiful even though it is winter there. The original room was terrible but within 16 hours we were in the room that we had booked. Lovely room with two double beds and updated bathroom. The food was good once we got used to it. The cleaning lady (Yareny) was exceptional. Jorge (a.k.a. George), the breakfast maker, is quite a character -- very accommodating. He had his sidekick, Iosmar, come to the back of the line and forced us to go to the front of the line (no one complained, thank goodness). I really enjoyed the capucchinos and the drinks (cocktails and beer). The beach, weather and water were excellent. The entertainment was very good, especially the synchronized swimmers and the Mariachi band. The public washrooms need more frequent attention than they give them.

Our trip to Brise-Del-Caribe started with a late flight and then on the bus to the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel the front desk ladies were a wonderful sight and they checked us in rapidly. Our two week stay was incredible. We spent time; poolside, at the buffet and the many bars, including the coffee bar. We also spent a day in the city of Veradero. When we arrived Shawn had misplaced my backpack. He had gone to guest relations the next morning to ask if it was left in the lobby. Eventually the guest relations were able to track down my backpack and had returned it to us within the hour. The backpack was left at the airport. DOH! Later that day Brian and I had to rush poolside and surprise Bebe and Margarita Junco as we had not seen them since Feb 2017. Shawn had spent 90% of his time poolside playing games with the Animacion crew, which consits of the great Yaidelin, AKA Bebe, and who can forget Margarita J with her children in tow. The others were just as enternaining, including; Darion, Bon Bon, and Alex. I had also taken a scuba course with the awesome teacher Raciel Serrano. Of course if there is a poolside you must have a poolside bar. The bartenders there are awesome, very tentive to all, Juan and Omar and others made it just as fun as the Animacion. The lobby bar, where we would often make a pitstop, were it be for breakfast on our way to the room or for any other reason, was staffed by Margarita, William, Boris and many others. They all took great effort to make sure Brian, who has a hard time walking, was well taken care of. Every morning we made a trip to the coffee bar for a double esspesso and a regular coffee. The coffee, as always, was great as were the coffee bar staff of Kiladys, Alberto and Armin. The buffet staff were exeptional, Julio went out of his way to grab me a new bottle of sauce. Julio and the staff of Margarita(3), Yeni, Roberto, Saito, and Lidy did an exceptional job. Who could forget the wounderful cleaning staff. Thank you for your great towel creations and cleanlieness Daraysis. Thank you Miguel A.C.Borges for the wonderful gift. Once again we will be booking another 2 weeks for February 2019. I would like to give a big thanks to all the people that helped and are helping with the aftermath of the hurricane.

This resort was another wonderful stay again. Everything we requested for our room was there when we arrived. The service, food and drinks was great as usual. The regular staff was there. We were treated like family.

The rooms, food ground, pool are not spectacular, but the staff is great, and the beach is the best I've ever seen. The bread, fruit, fish, and chicken is good. To a large extent you get what you pay for, It was a good deal, and an enjoyable holiday. And if anyone can explain how those Cuban women dance like that, I would like to know.

We thought we had a great deal for Brisas Del Caribe for Christmas.. Beware of such a price- -Our room had to be changed 4 times- we got sent to a room which was occupied, then another had a huge hole in the mattress, another holes in the wall, another filled with mould in the bathroom and in and around the a/c vent. -Food, the line ups for fresh cooked food was a minimum 1/2 hr long with rude locals pushing in front of you in line.The hot tables had no heat, thus we had cold eggs out of the fridge, recook food from the night before, always running out of food. Burgers, mystery meat like rubber, We both had issues with the food it was hard to eat properly we had to pick and choose carefully. -Drinks, ran out of beer daily, Rum!! the worst cheapest alcohol we couldn't drink it. I have been to Cuba many times I like it but this place needs an over haul, filthy and rude.When we tried to tell the people there they just would walk away. I can't recommend this resort to anyone. Pools- Filthy broken tiles and dirt around the inside looks like it was not washed for months. Beach, broken dirty chairs and not enough.

We had a wonderful week at the Brisas, their service is above and beyond. We were treated like royalty, we had a beautiful ocean view. Our room was always very clean and fun towel art each day. Each day we had eggs over flip and French toast, fresh squeezed orange juice and Spanish coffee in the cafe. The staff at the Brisas works so hard to make you feel welcome and accommodated. They may not be the fanciest of places, it feels more like Home.

.We vacationed at the Brisas Del Caribe from April 3 to April 13. Timing was spot on! The resort was not crowded and the weather was beautiful. Arriving at the Brisas, my family of 6 was greeted like family. This was our 4th time at this resort and we look forward to coming back every year!!! Kenia at the reception greeted us with a smile and worked hard to accommodate our needs eventhough she was being pulled in all directions. Kudos to the whole reception team for keeping their cool! A big hello and thank you to the staff at the coffee bar..Miguel, Willem, Gleiby, Lazaro, Lazara, Miladys, Armin and Hanoi. They worked hard all day and yet still had a smile for everyone. The food at Brisas has improved greatly. We were pleased with the addition of the fresh seafood grill station. Thank you to...Yilan, Juniel, Yasiel, Luli, Janelle, Yordanka, Alberto and Braulio who took such good care of us! I still have the tissue paper roses Juniel made for me;) Also..Jorge..aka The Egg Guy was one of the reasons why we got up so early every morning. Who can resist his smile and his singing! He remembered the way we liked our eggs which is impressive considering how many people come through his line!!! Angel (Caleta) your smile lights up the room! Tony at the Caleta...your paella reigns supreme!!! The beach was postcard perfect!!! Thank you George and Gilbert for looking after us! And I cannot forget to mention the lifeguards.. Haber and his team were the simply the best!!! My 5 yr old was not shy to amble over and have his daily "chit chats" with them! It was priceless!!! Yosbel...thank you for keeping an eye on my kids..whether they were on the beach or getting a lemonade. The Café Taino makes the best hamburgers and Antonio the bartender is akin to the friendly giant! Second floor rooms are the best as they are close to everything without having to climb stair. Our maid Lily left us the most amazing towel creations. A big Hello to Lidia and Ariadna our maids from previous stays. Nightly entertainment was done with a Cuban flair. Nothing super fancy but really enjoyable. Children's entertainment was well run. My kids really enjoyed the magic show and the action songs..I've never seen such huge grins on their faces!!! The Brisas Del Caribe is truly a Cuban experience! It is the best resort if you are looking for something down to earth and relaxed. It is most definitely a family resort that embraces everyone and creates a sense of family. As I am writing this, I am flooded with memories of all the new friends we have made there. I cannot wait to book our next vacation back at the Brisas!!! Look for us in April 2018!!!!

It was an excellent trip once again. The porter greeted us at the front desk and said to us....."Welcome home." Treated like loyalty. Everyday was a great day. Jorge the egg chef, dropped what he was doing and ran over to us. Full of excitement and smiles to see us. We loved this trip and hope to go back again in the fall.

At $900/person for six days on march break, this was a decent deal. The food is actually delicious if you like meat instead of greens; the property is worn down but quaint; there was hot water but no wifi. Bring your own beach towel.

The hotel was amazing. The staff were friendly, the food was great, and the people were such a great time. My whole group loved the amount of patio seating both inside and outside the resort where we could hang out on the 1 rainy day we had, and get ready to party after dinner! Not to mention the STUNNING beach. We had a hard time peeling ourselves away from the beach to go in for lunch and dinner because the water and sand were both gorgeous.

I have been coming to this resort since 2011. It never ceases to amaze me, especially given the minimal trade agreements Cuba has with the United States this country still is able to ensure its visitors have a great vacation. My daughter and I stayed at Brisas del Caribe February 4 to February 9, 2017. We both celebrated our birthdays there. We had an amazing suite 405 which had 1 1/2 bathrooms a living room and a beautiful jacuzzi in our bedroom. Our maid Mily was amazing. Always smiling when we saw her she kept our room spotless. We loved our towel art everyday. The food was the best it's every been. In the morning you could get omelettes in two different areas one in the dining room and one outside in the outside seating area. I loved going to Jorge in the dining room because his singing while making the eggs made me smile. We had fruit smoothies and enjoyed different cheeses and lots of different breads, rolls and buns. Lunch was wonderful with the outdoor grill cooking shrimp and differed fish. I loved the basa and cod in the grill as well as the shrimp. It was lovely. What wasn't lovely was the greedy Russians that demanded numerous plates of shrimp and weren't satisfied with the regular portions the chef was giving out. However the chef accommodated the Russians because they aim to please. It caused the line to take a long time to move. Vincent was our waiter and he was attentive and polite. We really loved him and tried to always sit in his area. He brought a birthday cake for my daughter on her birthday. His service is top notch and we will always seek him out when we go to the buffet. Cathy at the Seafood al a carte was really good as well. The food at the Seafood Restaurant was really good and we were able to eat there twice during our stay. Cathy took care of us both times. We both had massages. I wanted Emilia to do my massage this time but when I went to approach her she was quite unpleasant and unsmiling so I booked my massage with Mayelin. I had my massage in the gardens and found Mayelin really knew what she was doing. She made me feel fantastic and I loved the face massage I got at the end of my massage. I liked the smell of the lotion she used on my face. Her hands were strong and she made my body feel really good. I think she is a new masseuse at Brisas and she is a definite asset to the Brisas team. My daughter had a male masseuse I think his name was Rahid. She had the massage at the gym and she loved the ambience with the music and the soothing sounds. My daughter said Rahid did a great job and made her feel fantastic. The cost was 25 CUC for 30 minutes or 45 CUC for 60 minutes. What truly made our vacation was the Anamacion team. Bebe to me is the biggest asset Brisas del Caribe has. She ensures every guest has a great time at Brisas. You can tell Bebe loves her job. Her happy non stop smile is contagious and makes you want to participate. Her dance lessons were one of the highlights to our daily activities and we also enjoyed the music trivia, bingo and Spanish lessons. The dance lessons were so much fun. I learned so much. Yasniel and Yenli were new staff to us however when we left they were like old friends. I loved their non stop enthusiasm and desire to ensure the guests were enjoying themselves. Margarita is so good with the children and I watched her children's fashion show that really made the children proud of themselves in their really great outfits. The magic show for the kids was fun for the children too. You can tell Margarita loves her job and loves the kids. Yenli was helping Margarita and I also saw how much she enjoyed being around the children. One Anamacion staff was not really pleasant. He made fun of one if the guests over the microphone while the man was playing one of the games. He called the guest an idiot or said he was dumb. I never saw this staff member smiling and I know he doesn't like his job. His name is DiDi - Diosdado. I was unimpressed with him. Juan Miguel took care of us at the pool bar. His service was impeccable. One issue..the pool bathrooms get dirty during the day and run out if soap and toilet paper. Staff needs to be diligent in cleaning the bathrooms during the day numerous times. Staff have so little in life they make what most of us make in an hour in a month working 6 days per week. 18 CUC isn't a lot. If you are happy with the service give them a tip. Most staff aren't looking for a tip but appreciate it so much. Would I return to Brisas del Caribe? Yes in a heartbeat. I've been all over the world but I still love coming to Brisas. This was my daughters first visit here and I think she is hooked. She's already asked when we are booking again. Thank you Brisas for this very amazing vacation.

This was our 18th time to Cuba first time to this dump what they call a 4 star hotel. Black mold all in the rooms no hot water maids have keys to your safe towels cost 15 CUC each to use. Sunwing advertises complimentary lobster dinner when I asked about it to the sunwing rep I was called a liar and just looking for a free dinner. If you don't speak Spanish the bartenders take your order last selection of booze is rum vodka or whisky all no name brands. Plane was delayed a day and they never informed us until my wife had a nervous breakdown thinking we were gonna miss our plane they told us the bus broke down not to worry then finally told us about the delay after we had to get our family to call sunwing direct and we weren't giving back our money for late check out even though sunwing paid for an additional day. Sunwing lied and said our flight was grounded because of tornados in Florida when truth be told sunwing had their crew stranded in Halifax and sent our plane to get them. No coffee cappuccinos or any hot beverage between 10pm-7am because the machine at the 24 hour bar was broken but it seemed to work for the Cuban employees who wanted it. Bar maids would leave you standing there for 20 minutes at a time with no service while they spoke to their friends (other employees) very disappointed with sunwing have been a big fan of theirs until now. Pan handlers all over the beach the only 24 hour bar/food had a big menu of food but they only ever had hamburgers (rock hard) and fries buffet food was great however they would corral everyone into a little area then open one door and people would get trampled and fights would erupt

The only 2 good things about this resort was the Beach and the a-la Carte Meals. The room stank of mildew and the air conditioning leaked onto the tiles, so had to be careful that we did not slip and fall. The pool was OK but I have never heard of Jacuzzi being cold as well, could not use it. This Resort need a lot of upgrades as it is falling apart. The food was the usual for Cuba. But A-la Carte meals were good. I would not recommend staying here for the money you spend.

The hotel room was very clean like home. Our chamber maid, Melba did a wonderful job everyday cleaning our room, fresh towels and making our bed. George the chef, made our omelettes perfect every morning. Just filled with toppings. The bartenders were great. Made our drinks perfect and always knowing what we like to drink. The wait staff were great and friendly. Alberto and the girls knew exactly where to seat us plus bring us our drinks. Every meal was great. The security staff was excellent. One of the security guards there name George was awesome to talk to. The staff at coffee bar knew exactly how many coffees to make every morning as soon as they seen my husband come around the corner with the coffee tray. This is a wonderful resort. It's comfortable, relaxing plus the staff there make you feeling like family not just guests at a resort. We will be returning again next year.

Grounds were well maintained. Food was good and abundant. When in Cuba eat like the Cubans and you will not be disappointed. Leave your red meat desires for another location. Apparently best fresh water in the region on tap.

It was my first trip anywhere "tropical" and I enjoyed every minute. I would go back again. Thank you Brisas Del Caribe for a memorable time. My friends and I had so much fun and many memories were made for a lifetime.

We were there 3 years ago. Since then, they've renovated the south section with new bathrooms-tiles, sink, paint etc.; the lobby terrace with an outdoor bar, pergolas and lots of tables and chairs; new planters and decor. There's new loveseat swings in the front entrance and the terrace-love the wrought iron claw legs! Baby ducklings in the pond were a hit with all ages.

The grounds were impeccable. Beautiful pools, well maintained. The most of staff were very friendly and helpful on average. I notice we had better service when we were tipping. I spent $400 on tipping alone to get excellent service. Once staff kbew you were tippers then were on you like bees to honey. We thought food sucked. Need better variety. Only great thing was the lobster dinner and shrimp. Also, the cook on grill in buffet should be fired. I watched him have approximately 30 beautiful steaks on grill. He had about 20 people in line. He gave 2-4 steaks to the first 3 people than called his friends up for the rest. There should be portion limit of 1 then return if you want more. Everyone was angry and there was no more steaks. He was very rude and did same thing at other sitting. They need a manager to watch quality and portion control. Lots of wasted food. Maids did great job daily. Also, we bought Vip package but never got bottle of rum in room. No one seem to know anything about this. All in all, we like resort but no the barage of tipping for great service or the food and food grill cook.

the resort was nice but too big to make it personal. Most of the staff were great, although a couple of them could have been more pleasant, after all, we were on vacation!! We did not pay to be barked at!! Food was good, room nice and maid was very pleasant.

I have been to Varedero eight times, my first time at the Brisas Del Caribe I was pleasantly surprised,stayed in room 363 it was close to everything, you take the elevator down to reception where there is a bar, and a terrace to have cocktails, and the best cappachino! I updated to VIP package for an extra $100, that gave me late check out and lobster dinner and a better room, well worth the money, but no coffee maker as offered. Keep in mind you are in Cuba, there was a few issues with toilet seats, they don't have any on the pool bathrooms! and the main pool is very busy and noisy but they other pool was very quiet. I paid $700 would not be the same rating if I had paid $1100

Overall not a bad vacation spot. The reviews for this resort in the weeks leading up to my trip were absolutely scathing. However, I found the resort clean, comfortable and pleasant. The staff were friendly, and the food much better than expected, not spectacular but you can find something worth eating. Every night the main cafeteria had a good dish on the grill, and the morning omelette bar was always tasty, The room was a bit musty, and there wasn't really much in the way of evening activities, otherwise for a first time vacation in the Caribbean I have no real complaints.

The resort was ok. Food was not good! Beach was Great! The staff were very friendly and service at bars was very good. The location of the resort was close to Varadero. The night life in Varadero was great. Had alot of fun at the Beatles bar and the Cave. Over all it was a good trip!

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the previous reviews. Eight of us, including 3 little ones went for 11 nights. Our first rooms were Not acceptable, because of location and bed placement. They couldn't move us that first night. We went back the next and the next days, and did get exactly what we wanted. But we did persevere. The food was just as expected. Not fancy, but good variety every night. Salad bar fresh, home made bread, assorted expensive cheeses. Kids loved the pasta and of course the ice cream and Desert stations. No one had upset tummies. We did go to the A la Carte Restaurants. You get 2 reservations per week. They were never crowded. Beautiful, attentive service, different food. The pools, and beach were superb. Good drinks at the abundance of bars. Watersports were easy to use. Catamaran, snorkle trip extra money, but worth it. The kids club was the Best. The gal who runs it, Margarita...is a real sweetheart. The kids loved her and looked forward to going. We travelled with Hola Sun. Our free day tour to the Belamar caves was Fantastic. Did not take the little ones, not suitable for elderly or very young. Also we really enjoyed Cubana Air. No luggage fees, or weight restrictions and a box meal included. Bonus. All and all, this was a great vacation at a budget price. If this is what you are looking for, then you will be pleased. If you have more expensive tastes, then pay more and be satisfied. One last thing, for us the shows started too late. 10pm is too late if you've been on the go all day. 9pm. Would be better. While most of the staff was amazing there were a few that were very short and rude. When asked for help, some got angry and walked away or shooed us away from them because if the language barrier and lack of understanding. The 24 hour snack bar was a joke. We didn't have to use it very often but when we did we had to wait almost an hour for food. Not something any patent wishes to go through when traveling with 3 kids. The resort itself was kept somewhat clean in respect to landscaping but as far as garbage and cleanines in the halls and walls....it was just plain dirty. 2 out of 7 days there our room was not given water and when we asked for it we were told we had to buy it! Not the answer I was looking for while on an all inclusive trip where you aren't supposed to drink the local water. We all know nobody goes to Cuba for the food but we had very little selection at our buffets. If and when we needed an Internet card we either had to wait anywhere between 20 minutes and hour or go to a neighboring resort to purchase one. The entertainment staff was great. They were constantly engaging with guests and making sure they had a great time. Our sunwing representative was awesome!!! She helped us through a lot and was very good at her job. She truly went above and beyond!

Starting from beginning....this was my fourth time to Varadero...i have stayed in some less désirable areas and have been more satisfied. OK.... front desk.  Terrible service.  I have never felt more ignored or disrespected when asking for anything here.  We arrived at 10..waited til 4pm for our room and then the just threw the keys on the desk and didn't even tell us what direction it was or where it was.  Getting money changed here was horrible.  They ignored us most times and hoarded one dollar pesos like they were gold. I personally love to tip.  I ended up tipping with 3 and 5 dollar pesos for at least 3 days because i was dying for good service and ones would not be given to us.  I could complain more about the front desk- but its a waste of time. ROOM...We stayed in main building on second floor.  Our maid was amazing!  Loved Lidia.  She was one of the best maids i have ever had. And kept our room fresh with cute towel art.  Lots of water replaced daily and towels and toilet paper.  Our bathroom door handle fell off and was not fixed.. It was extremely quiet in room 220 because we weren't facing the pool. This room was really convenient and close distance to almost all things at the resort. Beach.- perfect and beautiful.  Its why I go to Varadero.  Watch very closely to the locals walking up and down the beach.  There are tons of drug propositions happening and we were haggled everyday to buy things...and offered to buy drugs at least 5 times in one day.  The security is present there...but allow these people up on the beach To Hassel the guests.  It really upset me.  Also one of the security men tried selling me things - also tried to get us to pay him to take us to Havana. We left the beach and went to the pool most days because no matter how far we moved back on the beach, people were still being allowed to come up and Hassel us to buy things.  I have never had this problem in any of my trips to Varadero..it just really upset me- because this is why i stopped going to Dominican and coming to Cuba....there was actually an instance that a man was swimming in the water, and asked my boyfriend where he was from and that he had weed...cocaine...or whatever he "needed". Food...I'm used to Cuban food and actually enjoy it...i just question the food safe practices there...as most of the stuff is not kept hot and Left to sit.  I dodnt get sick and i ate lots.  Like I said...I'm not picky. Best place to eat is at beach grill ' Caleta Grill.  Much tastier than buffet. Pool bar closes as 6pm..lobby bar at 12. They ran out of alcohol every day...no beer....no vodka....and no sorries...lol there is also a "secret" piano bar on the third floor that serves MUCH better drinks.  Lots of elderly people up there.   Overall...i see a lot of older returning guests....and from what I understand ...unless you are a return repeat guest...you don't get the same treatment or warm réception. I never go to Cuba expecting mighty things...but I guess i was expecting a bit more...in terms of friendliness and didn't get it this time unless i was waving money around.

We were very pleased with our holiday at Brisas Del Caribe. We were in the oldest part of the resort but the rooms were clean, had hot water, AC, hair dryer and were quieter than in the newer areas. There was a small pool away from the main area and we enjoyed the semi-private feeling of this area next to the 24 hour snack bar. The best surprise was the food - the best we have have had in Cuba (this was our third visit to Varadero)

It was very noisy in the foyer area...difficult to have a conversation especially in the evening when there were many people around. The first room I was in was on the ground floor and was mouldy (smell), but I was able to change the room the next day to another room on the 3rd floor. This one stunk of cigarettes, but at least I could open the door without worry of any intruders entering and air the room out. The beds were hard, and the pillows old and flat, but I did get used to them by the end of the week. The bathroom was clean and so were the towels and sheets. The food was ok, and there was no shortage at all. One doesn't go to Cuba for the food, and I was fine with what was served. The staff were mostly quite friendly, especially after you tipped them, which I did sometimes. The drinks were good. I only watched two shows, one of which was disappointing and the other was very good. There was a regular band that came around in the evening to serenade us which I enjoyed and bought their music. Staff at the front desk were for the most part good, but one or two were a bit jaded (and what I mean by that is that they appeared tired of responding to the questions from the guests). The Air transat rep was good. Would I recommend? Yes, and I would also give some warnings too.

Our stay at the resort was ok. The room at the south part was so updated and very filthy. Stained bed sheets were never changed during our 7 day stay. No hand towels. One piece of ceiling in the bathroom fell down on my head. No apologies from receptionist after my complain. We liked the beach and the night shows.

We Stayed at the Brisas Del Caribe, from Jan 27th to F2b 6th. the overall stay at the brisas was good.. Food was so so.. lots of the time it was cold but other wise good, you could usually find something to eat. The hotel has two sections the North and South, The North section is the main building and is closest to the beach, lots of entertainment at night so if you want a quiet early night, stay in the South Section. Both sections have undergone renovations and they are still being renovated on. We Stayed in the north section on the 4th floor Room 415. Its was a nice room with a view of the Pool and you could see the Ocean.. Only real complaint about the room was the lack of hot water. It was usually luke warm to warm.. Staff at the resort were nice and friendly. For 5 cuc you can take the double decker bus into varadero and ride all day on the one price. Good places to eat in varadero are Lili's its a Chinese restaurant and the food is very good, its located across from the Main Flea market around 22nd st. Also Casa de Miel has great fish and pizza... its located a few blocks west of Lili's.

Although very clean the Bathrooms were average at best. No paper no toilet seats urinals not working and toilet stalls closed not working. A large Carter restaurants only 2 were available when we were told we could have three. Hot tub closed all 7 days and nobody even tried working on it. A/C in our first room did not work had to change rooms. FOOD was the worst I had in the last 20 years of travelling. Temperature of food was not a concern for them.6 people in our group and 5 got sick from food, I could go on for ever but in finishing I would not recommend this resort till they start to care about guests and start to fix it up. Its in direct need of an overhaul.

This resort was basic as we expected. It was clean and the rooms are not very nice (bathroom was updated) but the bed was comfortable, the food was edible and the beach was great. I like a smaller resort as it's easy to get around. Lobby staff were not helpful and not honest - most of the rest of the staff were great - very friendly. They ran out of beach towels most days. There wouldn't be enough good beach chairs if it was busy. The shower water was 'warm', never hot. Our room smelled a bit musty/damp and like smoke but was clean except for the stained bath mat. The 24hr 'snack bar' had only 4-5 things on the menu and they weren't great so had to make sure we got food at the buffets. The beach grill burgers were good but it always closed early and dinners don't start until 7pm. The a la carte restaurants were good and a nice break from the boring buffet food (which I'm told is just Cuba). The bathrooms were not well-maintained and ran out of paper sometimes. Overall, for the price you got some value and if you're not too picky I would recommend this resort. Others I was with enjoyed it more than I did - nice but nothing special.

The food was not great! The grounds were nice! Rooms were not very nice! Pillows Sucked! Loved the barista bar, beach bar and lobby bar were great! We stayed in the main building which was I think the only place to stay. I am sure if the weather was better it would have helped for a better vacation. The staff that ran all the activities by the pool were amazing! The entertainment was wonderful! The lineups for lunch and dinner were too long. Not a big enough dining room for the size of the resort! I guess the worst part of my vacation was the food! Have been to a resort where the food was outstanding!

Yes, there were some issues. With nine of us on a boys trip (seven in their 20s, plus two dads), we had four rooms. Water wasn't always hot in one room, toilet didn't work properly in another. Lack of toilet paper in the restrooms throughout the resort. Small things. But the fun factor has to count for something. So too does the resort staff. We had a terrific time in our vacation the first week of January. Met some amazing people from all over the world. Bartenders were awesome. For a change from the buffet at lunch, try the grill, near the beach. Is the resort a five-star in quality? No. But the price is right. And, yes, I would go back.

Overall staffs are friendly, we upgrade our room to 3rd floor with no extra cost, room 337 on the third floor is the best, food are good, sometime the buffet restaurant very busy, we tips them not all the time (but a dollars goes a long way), our server at the restaurant reserve our table every night. Afterall it is only 3 stars resorts not a 5 stars, but I feel it is 4 stars.

I would recommend this resort for anyone looking for a cheap get away. The price was great and the staff were unforgettable! The entertainers were the most friendly and happiest people we've ever met! We have to thank them for our great experience. We will definitely be returning in the future!

The North Hotel was close to the beach and the grounds were kept immaculate. We really enjoyed the BBQ Calenta when fired up for the chicken and hotdog, bring tabasco. The buffet was good and the staff incredible, yet at two occasions I found a few blue spots of mold on the bread and discarded them. Now everything else we experienced was pure magic, the friendly bartenders, the beach and experiencing a little of the downtown varadero. We love to see roosters and ducks in the garden and they have hammocks hanging from palm trees just before the beach. The animation team were really outgoing and funny, keeping people entertained and happy. I even have photos of staff dancing with guests at random. My girlfriend was almost in tears to leave and wants to return again. We did not eat at a resort restaurant because there was always a limited amount of room and wasted too much time to book. Would have been nice to try but did not really diminish our visit. We did swim with fishes along with a catamaran ride for a decent price. Over all the resort has potential to be truly amazing but we still enjoyed it very much nonetheless.

i like it its better than some in cuba the rooms are kept clean pools are good the food could be little better but the rest is good I would go back there except no coffee in rooms meet so interesting people and were going to try meet up around feb or early march

Had a lovely week stay in Brisas Del Caribe. It was extremely hot, the beach was the best beach I have ever seen. Great snorkeling and explored Bella Caves in Matanza. Definitely worth seeing. Resort... Older by nature but okay. The friendliest staff and fabulous Massage Therapist. Good food, no complaints.

I got married and enjoyed so much time with my husband, family and friends. Always go back for the people and the music. It my spot to reboot and recharge with the infecious happiness that Cuba always offers.

Overall was a good resort. It was maintained good. Pools were clean. Beach was perfect. Food never went hungry. Rooms definitely need to be done over. Had to switch rooms. The first room power went out and shower didn't work.

The grounds were beautiful , always well kept ! The food was great , the workers were always friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful and tonnes of fun activities for the whole family to do on resort!

Staff: Amazing. If you're friendly, so are they. And that's without tipping. Grounds: Lovely, lots of places to roam and relax - both north and south side. Beach: Brilliant. But, if you like shade, you have to get to beach or poolside, to 'hog' your spot, just like everyone else does, whether they remain empty for hours or not, with just a towel to save it. That's just the way it is, and we had to join the club, or risk severe sunburning. Nice Market on-site. I liked the food, even if it was repetitive. Great drinks and coffee. Animation staff, excellent! Kids Club, good, but I don't recommend leaving small children unattended, especially if they wander off easily or follow others, so stay near, otherwise, if your kid is older and can look out for him/herself, relax. Your kids safety is your responsibility, to put it in another is not responsible. They mean to provide a service to a group of kids, all different needs and ages at once, so be mindful. Margarita is lovely. The actual resort itself is where the real issues are: We spent 7 nights, our sheets were never exchanged for clean ones, out towels were, and the room was tidied, but I would never say it was Cleaned. I wiped off on the mirror, what I assumed was rust, but it came off with simple water. To me, no matter the socio-economic issues of a place, cleanliness is the cheapest and simplest thing a place and people can achieve, when it's not done, it just feels careless. The humidity and heat were quite high while we were there. The room was smelly as a result. We switched from one room to another, and the smell consistent. Only bothersome when you first enter. I would bring incense. All my clothes, whether worn or not, had to be washed of that small when I got home, because it permeated and dampened my clothes. Different stories on the AC. We had none. Some folk we spoke to had lots. We were offered the south side originally, but preferred to be closer to beach, restaurant, etc on north side. We knew people on south side, who were happy with their rooms, especially the size. Complaints come in all ways, but they boil down to your taste and expectations. I was mostly disappointed with the cleanliness and lack of AC. We spent the last few nights: sleepless. I was disappointed that Trip Advisor did not arrange seating for my toddler and I to sit together. An entire flight of 'friendly newfoundlanders' refused to switch so that we could sit together, until the pilot actually had to insist on volunteers to do so (this after the stewards asked TWICE). I had never experienced such inflexibility and sheer selfishness, the couple would only be one seat apart in the exchange for my son and I to sit together, and one of them would get extra leg room in the exit aisle. I was shocked, having travelled most of the world with and without my son, and have witnessed and experienced much more kindness on other flights. Overall, depending on the person, I would recommend to most of my practical-minded, low-maintenance friends. P.S. the a la cartes - are nothing special. you can eat the same food in the regular buffet, it's only more decorative, and it's quiet, which can be a welcome change.

This resort is 20+ years old, as such is in need of lots of TLC especially the rooms. The common areas seem to have gotten most of the attention and cosmetically are pleasing while the rooms, depending on what side of the resort you are in, are in varying states of disrepair, however renovations are ongoing. The rooms in the North Building are a little smaller than those in the South Building, and even though those in the south are referred to as ‘Bungalows’ they are actually rooms in blocks not individual units. It is about a five minute walk up a paved roadway or across a parking lot from the South building to the North where most of the amenities are, and about another five minutes to the beach. This is a smaller resort which caters to the Cuban clientele, as a result, the food is most definitely Cuban and repetitive, the staples at lunch and dinner seem to be rice, beans, local vegetables, fruit salted fish and ‘mystery meat’. The same fare is served every day, in addition dishes in the buffet are either under done, or over done, high in sodium and fats, the grease just hangs in the air at all of the grills. There is a beach grill but the quality of food is not much better than the main buffet. The pools in the North building are clean but small, and being linked together the pool area tends to be very noisy with all the activity that goes on, and not much lounging area. In order to secure a spot with shade, you pretty well have to get out at 7:00 am to secure your spot. The pool in the South Building is a bit larger but lacks shade as well. The beach which is public is nice, but again, not much shade as the number of palapas are limited, here too you would have to secure your spot on the beach early if you hope to have any shade. What this resort lacks in quality, they make up for in service, as the staff are only to happy to assist you in any way they can, any deficiencies or limitations suffered by the guest of this resort are certainly no fault of the staff, they work with what they have. Will I go back to this resort again? No, this resort clearly targets a different market and clientele, one that is a little less discriminating.

Rooms are pretty clean. Grounds well kept food is not great but there is a bit of variety a LA carte restaurants are good definitely beats the buffet staff is friend and helpfull all in all decent hotel for the price had worst experience in 4 stars hotels in cuba

The resort was nice the beach is beautiful the food was eatable the entertainment was good the service was good we had a couple of mishaps but was fixed fast so we didn't really notice would go back for the right price

In my group were ten members, one infant and nine adults. Our expectations were that young couple with a child with get the room first, didn't happened, and they have to wait for a crib two days. On top of that four of five rooms we occupied were without air condition. Also one day didn't have hot water. In one room lights didn't work, in my and other one telephone. Telephone was fixed on Wednesday in other room, I left before technician showed up to fix a telephone in my room. Dishes were dirty. I visited a resort on reference.

Its Cuba. The beaches and weather are fantastic, 10 straight days of sun, no clouds, no rain. White sand beaches and crystal blue waters. Very windy though. On the other hand, the food and the accommodations leave to be desired. The buffet is below average. The food is weird like they don't have a particular theme or pattern or an idea in mind of what they want to serve. Its all over the place and is not very good. The 24 hour snack bar, forget about it. It may satisfy you drunk at 3am but for any other time of day, it borders on inedible. We gave a piece of hamburger to a skinny starving dog and he wouldn't eat it. Just kept looking at the table wondering when we would give him "food" so who knows what is in those things. The A La Carte restaurants are alright so book them all. As for the rooms, their average. They could use some touch ups and minor fixups but other then that their alright. The rooms were beyond humid. You left a t-shirt on the chair and it would be soaked the next day. Also filled with mosquitos. Must bring mosquito repellant. When I left I could count over 50 bites on arms and face. Luckily there is no malaria. Its a nice big resort as you would expect with many restaurants and bars and the grounds are well kept. They have a scooter rental on location and they don't cost very much. One of the things I love about Cuba. Varadero is not far away, only about a 10 minute/10CUC ride. If you want to go to Cuba, you want a good resort and don't want to spend too much, this one is the way to go.

First off, the beach...Beautiful! Resort itself, run down and even going not expected much of anything, I was disappointed. Food-is Cuban food, nothing to rave about, but didn't starve either. Rooms-felt dirty the entire time. Resort-not kept up to how it should have been. Most workers unfriendly. Coffee bar in lobby amazing, entertainment staff were also great! With the positives there were, it would not bring me back to this resort. The bad far outweighed the good.

Nice resort nice beach and amenities good service rooms are too old and some of them have broken stuff .In general stuff were friendly .the massage is amazing and they have scooters renting station right on sight!!!with was very convenient!!!A lot of inter taming programs and concerts

Overall the resort was great, service was good, food was good, rooms were average.... Beach was clean and beautiful...not too far from the market... we went swimming with the dophin and had a great experience ;)

All staff was very friendly. Gisselle in public relations was the best! Rooms were very clean, not the newest hotel but renovating to make it more enjoyable.Had chance to see renovated room and was very impressed.We loved the foodand amenities. Have been there before and will definetely go back. THE BEST!!!!

The good: I liked the food, never got sick. Beach was beautiful, some workers were friendly and entertainment was great, I especially liked the group of musicians that played during the evening in the lobby where everyone hung around. The Bad: My room was in the south part, old section, my first room had no shower pressure and broken phone, took an hour for a technician to come fix it (sent by the main desk ladies)to learn that we need a plumber. I couldn't get another room till next day. New room had some water pressure, enough to shower, hot water took forever to come, my sister took 2 cold showers and I took warm showers, but temperature was good after the first 2 days - last 2 days there, there was no water all in the morning. Rooms very plain, bed headboards fall apart if your not careful. Grounds are nice and clean. The public bathroom need major work, some toilets have seats, some don't, toilet paper often missing and no soap. The bathroom by the pool is disgusting, very dirty and runs out of toilet very quickly, they only keep 1 little soap bar which runs out quickly as well. I went to one A-La-Carte restaurant, very nice and clean, its like it didn't belong there. Buffet area was soo busy, not enough tongs on the serving trays, people had to grab bread with their hands, one slow slow toaster that only toasted 2nd time around, one grill area that was filthy, equipment and floors very dirty, I can just imagine the kitchen but I never got sick. The grill by the beach food was ok but all the food was exposed for the flies. The women at the front desk were not very nice, I think its because everyone was asking for a new rooms. They had alot of water problems. Most bartenders and some buffet waiter/waitresses looked miserable. The main coffee area was so busy, all the coffee machines looked like they have never been cleaned and they don't use dish soap for washing the mugs, they use a dirty cloth and water - I never got sick. The coffee is very good, unfortunately it took for ever to get a cup - bartender wouldn't look at you until they were ready to take your order or you showed them a tip. I made the best of everything, You have to overlook the faults in order to enjoy yourself, there was good and bad about this place. I'd visit again if the price was super cheap, I heard the rooms in the main building are being renovated slowly and the water pressure is super strong. It could of been worse, this is definately a 3*.

Staff was amazing!!! Hotel could use some cleaning up by painting and upgrading the rooms. Need more kitchen grills for the cooks to work more efficiently - pancake and omelette line ups very long. The washrooms did not have any paper towels to wipe your hands.

cheap price for all inclusive resort. the rooms in the north section are best or near the lobby. people are very nice. dont expect amazing food its edible. you go to cuba for the weather and beach anyway

grounds: not always clean (plastic glasses & plates are not picked up for days) beach is nice but not cleaned on a regular basis some of the beach chairs are old with tears and should be changed we had to change rooms 3 times due to problems with a/c and water pressure in the shower was poor food: very repetitive not many choices lack of bagnos near beach or pool stayed at many different hotels in Cuba (Varadero,Holguin,Cayo CoCo,Cayo Guillermo,Cayo Santa Maria,and with another Brisas in Santa Lucia it rates as the worst......

My husband and I and two other couples stayed at this resort for two weeks, the second and third week of February, 2015. We have been travelling for ten years and this was our third trip to Cuba. The grounds around the resort were very well kept up, as were the bridges around the bird ponds. Many, many perfect places to take pictures!! The inside of the resort reception area was being overhauled and it would have been great to see it when it was done. The a la cartes are a must!! They were awesome. Breakfast buffet was very slow, not even a toaster! The one man that was making the eggs and omelettes worked with a smile and was very pleasant. You don't really mind waiting a bit because you were entertained with his bantering, jokes and noise effects. Our rooms served their purpose for sleeping, although our mattress was more tired than we were. They were very clean and the maids were very good, especially using their imagination in towel art! They always made us smile. The beach area was fantastic but mostly old chairs and many broken ones. It was very clean and the ocean great. Also many shade huts!! I realize that this is Cuba, but my one complaint is very few if any TOILET SEATS !!! For travelers in their 50's and older, many have knee and hip replacements or just feel the need to sit and do their business, not hang!! Lets face it, we go for the warm weather but some conveniences are a must!

In renovation stages, has its downfalls, pina coladas r excellent....the food is what it is...their culture. I have stayed there 4 times & has a great beach. In spite of renovations it is not a dive...3 & half ***

Hotel is average, but is currently undergoing lots of renovations, in a year this hotel is going to be gorgeous and quite possibly up it's star rating. Food is alright, bland Cuban food buffet - not sure that anyone goes to Cuba for the food anyways, A la cartes were better - tried 3 out of 4, our favorite was the international. Beach is nice, we didn't have to wait long for chairs, the coast is windy though red flags were up 5 out of the 7 days we were there. Room was average and quiet, stayed on the south side - which I'm told is bigger than the north side rooms. Everything in the room worked, no complaints. Pools were nice, not busy at all. Entertainment was good, watched a few shows at the outdoor theater, some shows out on the terrace and enjoyed the piano bar and jazz night. Service is good, mostly everyone was very friendly, except for one waiter at the Tainos Cafeteria who obviously doesn't like his job. Drinks were great and rum flows better than water there! Location of hotel is great as it is right in the middle of the peninsula, not far to go to either end. Did 4 excursions and booked them through the hotel, all were fantastic, recommend Catamaran Cruise to Cayo Blanco and the Jeep Safari as they include many activities. Havana special was a great time, but long day, the Tropicana show only starts at 10pm until midnight, then a 2.5hr bus ride back. We would go back, great value for money (however we booked only a week before going).

The beach was amazing and the best part of this resort. The rooms are run down and have many issues. I changed rooms once and friends had to change 3 times. The resort is renovating and updating rooms, lobby and walkways. The lobby coffee bar was great.

Nice pools, great beach. Good variety of bars open throughout the day. Friendly and grateful staff. Short walk to the bus into the city. Buffet hours seemed a little restricted as supper didn't open until 7 and there was always a huge line waiting to get in. 4 a la carte restaurants to choose from.
