The resort is dated but very clean. The staff are excellent. If you have accessibility needs, this resort is difficult to navigate. There are stairs everywhere with no railings, accessible toilets are very low and accessibility bars are ill placed, and the cobblestone walkways make navigating with mobility devices challenging.

The resort was very clean but in need of upgrading in some areas. The staff are what make this resort - there was not one staff we encountered who did not acknowledge us with a smile and hello. The food is average or less. The ala cartes are the saving grace, especially the Italian. Food at the buffet was repetitious and frequently lukewarm or cold. You have to ask for salt and pepper, and things like butter are not always readily available. Its nice not having to make reservations at the ala cartes or have a specified number of times you can eat at each one. If you are looking for a beach, this is not the resort for you. There is a small area for "beach" and the water is really only an inlet. The pools are beautiful and clean and 2 of them overlook the ocean and the cruise ships.

The resort was terrific. Clean, good food in the restaurants and on the buffet. Small beach area but there is a couple of pool areas. One is the adults only infinity pool, very nice. Friendly staff. Walking distant to some attractions, restaurant/bars and shopping. Short cab ride ride to downtown. Highly recommend!!

All around ,grounds ,rooms ,restaurants,pools, the little beach , were nice and kept clean, and people working there very courteous . The chefs had prepared tasty foods and sweets . Yet ,the whirlpools not functioning and therefore the water not clean . No chance to use book exchange for all guests , for members of the club only !!! And for people with reduce mobility the grounds surface is not so friendly by design , even though looks nice .

Great location not so far from main port as well as city’s centre. Grounds are kept impeccable and staff are friendly and always willing to help. Kids club activities are well designed and fit a big range of ages

While the view from our room was beautiful, we wouldn’t return to this resort. Beach is small (although good snorkeling), pools were good. Food was absolutely terrible. Not for those with accessibility issues.

We stayed at Grand Park Resort first week in Feb We found the Resort lovely the grounds were beautiful and very clean,rooms clean and staff wonderful We never had a problem finding a chair near the pool or beach, snorkeling was awesome The only issue was I found the food not hot at all ,luke warm at best Other than that we had a wonderful stay and would recommend

The Hotel is nice clean and the food was great but the check out was not good we checked out on time and they gave us a ticket for our return transfer to the airport took that to the bell hop and they asked us to wait a few moments after 10 min we went back and he said oh you missed your transfer you will have to pay for a taxi now which cost $20 us to the airport we went to westjet desk at the resort no one there to help we had no choice but to pay for a taxi or be late for our plane this really needs to be rectified at the resort level or tour operator level or both very disappointing on all levels to have to go thru that stress on your way home , what if we didnt have the cash then what????

Great spot. Everyone there was super friendly. Very family friendly as well. Buffet was great. I don’t see why people were complaining. The Mexican restaurant on site was beautiful inside, but the food was not good. I just wanted a simple taco but no bueno. I’d go back for sure.

While the staff are doing a good job, the resort itself is handicapped by its location and other issues, The cruise ships are in your face at the beach, not across a pier faraway. There are not enough loungers for the number of guests, neither at the beach or around the pool resulting in a rediculous rush to reserve loungers before 7am. Guests are so aggressive they crash through barriers to get their towels on the best spots before 6am. A dispute erupted with one self-absorbed guest insisting she had intended to reserve the lounger I took that didn't have a towel on it and I should have intuitively understood that it was reserved without a towel because of its location beside the loungers she had put a towel on. I told her she should have put her underwear over all 3 loungers,it could have fit...case closed. Don't bring high heels, walkers or wheelchairs the sidewalk is concrete and natural stone and worse than cobblestone. I saw an elderly woman crying with a small gash on her head sitting on the sidewalk. I hadn't witnessed the fall but I knew the cause. There are 11 all-inclusive resorts on Cozumel, Royal Park Cozumel is ranked #8 for a reason, although it should be noted that it is not the worst. I went to the ala carte Mexican restaurant on Tuesday night, I spent all of Wednesday with Montezuma's Revenge a most terriible gastro-intestinal war was going on inside me. The battle was still going on but I got up to enjoy a birthday excursion I had booked previously on Thursday, I suffered the rest of the week. My overall assessment of this resort is certainly influenced by my experience and I can assure you I won't be going back. Did I say the grounds are lovely, a lush green jungle full of grackles and iguanas. I'll leave you with a metaphor; when the grackles aren't tweeting, they are squawking.

Resort is Beautiful, great to sit in the Infiniti pools while the watching the cruise ships come and go. If you like going for walks on beach this beach is too small for that. Staff are friendly , food was great, rooms were clean. There are many trees and bushes around the other pool if you want shade. But there should be more lounge chairs and regular chairs should be added as not everyone can get in and out of the lounge chairs.

Service and friendliness of staff was excellent. Some food choices were excellent, others were mediocre or very poor. Buffet in particular was poor quality. Some dishes were made differently with different ingredients each time we ordered them, no consistency. Menu, restaraunt open/close times were not accurate. Random closings, missing items etc. Limited options and long waiting times, no matter what time you went for dinner, early or late. No hot water for three days. Each day I was told it would be fixed within 1-2 hours, but never happened. No compensation or anything was offered. The patio door was also faulty and would not shut properly. Jacuzzi was never working properly. No jets, not hot or cold, just room temperature water, not as advertised. Best day of the trip was when we went off the property. Would not stay here again.

This Hotel was perfect for us with downtown just a short walk away. Food was great with lots of fruits and seafood shrimp and fish in the buffet. The Mexican and Italian a la carte restaurant food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and always catered to your needs promptly. Rooms and the grounds were super clean. Entertainment was unique and varied. A short swim from the beach and you are surrounded by colourful fish. We went snorkelling right off the beach several times. The cruise ship in the background gave an interesting backdrop to all the beach activities. It was very interesting to see the cruise ship come and go. Fully recommend this Resort.

We both enjoyed our stay very much! The rooms, public areas were spotless. The staff were amazing, friendly and attentive. A few wore masks and there were sanitizing machines scattered throughout the property. Food in the restaurants were nicely served and tasty. The buffet breakfasts were awesome, dinners were adequate but became a bit boring by week’s end. A few more loungers could be used as some guests were without. Afternoon snacks were excellent! We’d definitely return again!

Staff was fantastic view was amazing from 9th floor. Food was good and the snorkeling was amazing. Shopping was very close as was the airport. Representative was very helpful. Entertainment was very good. Bartenders were great and willing to please.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous. As soon as you enter you are in awe. The staff are friendly and service is pretty good, has 3 pools which have a bar each and lots of restaurant options, snacks drinks, etc. Only two downfall for this hotel I would have to say is the quality and variety of food is not the best but it's OK. Other one is that because of where it is situated doesn't have a huge beach front, rather a very small private beach. Overall I think it's one of the better hotels in Cozumel.

The biggest thing I would like to address is the courtesy of staff. Faustino in Guest services was over the top helpful with organizing our excursions. Sarai Borges and Livorio provided us with great service and smiles. I found these bartenders to be very kind, helpful and if they didn't have what we wanted - they were very creative and helped make our stay even more pleasant. Kudos to the staff. Unfortunately, it appears there is not enough seating to accommodate the number of patrons attending your resort. If you could implement a "shake bar" perhaps as an option it would be a great idea. Personally I enjoy a refreshing shake with fresh fruit / fruit juices and maybe some protein added as an option as well.

The resort has lush plant life and a lot of pools and the ocean. The people were very friendly and helpful. The food was just okay, the a la carte restaurants were a little better except the Seafood restaurant which did not have seafood on its dinner menu. We had to wear a mask when inside restaurants or near food and in lobby, they were strict about that. The snorkelling was pretty good right at the resort and you aren't far from downtown. Before leaving, the hotel looked after our Rapid test for free, and the Dr. was very helpful. There were a lot of families there, and it is a big part of time sharing.

We have stayed here many times and love the resort!! Things were definitely not 100% but the resort was not full so a much quieter experience , social distancing was in effect in the restaurants, lobby, bars etc. Masks worn indoors but not needed out side. Lots of sanitizing stations and patron tracking by room number was done, as well as all staff wearing masks. Buffet was definitely smaller with fewer choices but was really nicely done , my only bad point would be no toasters in the morning buffet so no toast with your bacon and eggs and some condiments were scarce but if you asked they tried to get you what you wanted by the end of our week occupation was up and the buffet seemed to expand as more people were there. We will be back again love this location as it is close to the dive shop we use.

The hotel was fine, average two beds, bathroom closet, desk, TV and a balcony. The rooms were clean. The hotel was clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The elevator was slow as some of the elevators were shut down due to Covid. The food at the resort was pretty good, Lots of variety however limited, probably due to Covid. There were 3 pools on the property plus the beach. With the 60% capacity due to Covid the pools and the beach were not crowded, lounge chairs were abundant. One pool was strictly for adults which was great, an infinity pool overlooking the ocean and a swim up bar. The "Funstatic Team" were awesome, providing afternoon games and activities as well as evening entertainment which brought all the guest together for greatly missed social interaction. Being from Canada we were required to have a PCR test, we booked this on-line with a link provided by the hotel. The doctor and nurse came to our room and provided the Covid test at a cost of $90 US. Our results were received by email in 24 hours. I would definetly return to this resort for a getaway.

The only thing going for it was the property and caribbean restaurant. Beach was nice and the pool and "hot" tubs overlooking the beach looked beautiful. Only - the hot tubs were FREEZING, also the deck around them crumbled from the surf hitting it the first night we were there. They put caution tape around them and only got to fixing them on our last day. The staff didn't really seem to care much with the exception of a couple of restaurant staff. The buffet was frequently very sparse with dried out food in empty containers - very hit and miss. The Italian restaurant was ok - good appetizer and dessert buffet, but the served meal portion was only ok. My meal - the fish fillet looked great but tasted off. I didnt eat it for fear of food poisining. The Caribean restaurant was really good - great staff, good seafood and food in general. We went there more than once. The other issue was the first night our 2 gardenview rooms were overlooking the busy street next door and some kind of tanks outside. It was too noisy to sleep and the door security latch on one room was broken. It took all of our first day to get them to move us and only with a call from Canada (Nicole helped) - they just didnt seem to care.

The hotel needs TLC for sure. The staff trying to sell time sharexwere rude once you said no to going to their speil. The pool was freeeeeeezing! The one by the ocean wasnt bad and it was fun to watch the boats come in. Buffet food was not great, breakfast was horrible, lunch was edible and dinner wasnt too bad. The specialty restaurants were very good! The servers were working their butts off. Took a bit of time to get some food but it was delish. Views from upper floors 7 and above were nice, rooms are in bad need of updating. Our room service was horrible, had to call for to and Kleenex and water, not to mention the fridge was supposed to be fully stalked. All the lady did was make the bed, then we'd have to call. Has a coffee maker and two cups but never got coffee and when we asked, she left one pouch of coffee and nothing else. Hope you like it black lol. Air conditioning didn't work well at all, asked about fixing it and were told won't happen before you leave lol. Very very small resort, no night life as far as bars and dancing etc. Not a lot going on or to do at the resort but drink and eat, and hey, some people are live with that. All in all would not go back, nor would I suggest this place to anyone of our friends. But I have the say the staff at the restaurants and pool bars work extremely hard and are friendly and we tipped them well for this. Oh yes, no real beach to speak of if you like a big sandy beach, is is very small and chairs are impossible to get unless you're up and down at 6am to throw a towel and book on it. I'd say half the chairs weren't even used, people put crap on them then leave for hours on end to town or all day and then come back and grab their towels at the end of the day. I think that's bs and people who do that's are selfish asses. Keep chairs just in case, and then dont use them. Other people could have, very selfish. Personally I think hotels should ban that practice since people can't see how rude it is, if you come and use it within an hour or so great. Oh and our air canada rep that was suppose to be at the hotel for questions etc....never saw them until our departure day for the taxi and even then he was late and we all didn't know what was going on. Would never use Air Canada vacations again nor trip central as they could and never did get back on my email questions. Also the "premier" room means crap other than you can see the ocean from your balcony. So that sums it up! Weather was good though! Oh and can walk to town in about 20 to 30 min, nice walk also!

At first i thought the beach located across the street from the hotel would be a problem however you did not realize the street at all. Great views if the sea and cruise port. It was something new everyday. Food was good, hotel was close enough to everything. Pool and beach was also good. Snorkelled right off the beach.

We were a little put off the first day as we arrived at 11am and had to wait until 3pm to check in. I could have understood this if the resort was busy or full but it wasn't, we were able to change into some shorts and enjoy the resort, however after a long day of traveling you just want to unpack and start relaxing. Got in the room, very nice, all you need, I found the bed hard, wife loved it. Great view of the ocean. Fridge was filled daily with water, pop and beer. Maid service did a great job but were very random. We dive every morning and would come back late in the day to rest and they always wanted to clean the room late in the afternoon. We don't need the room cleaned everyday so it wasn't a big deal to us but wished they would have cleaned the rooms in the mornings. We did have a lot of rain the week we went and this in not the resorts issue, but they did supply umbrellas in areas that you could use and that was a nice touch. Buffet was good lots of choices but fairly standard and not always the hottest (we did not starve!!!), best night was the Texmex. The 3 other restaurants have changed and do not require reservations anymore, first come first serve. The Italian was very good!! 3 pools, hot tub and lots of beach chairs and beds. Everyone on the resort was very nice and accommodating and were generally concerned that you were happy and having a good time always saying good morning, hello, etc. This was not our first trip to this resort and we could see and feel improvements from our last trip just 6 months ago. We will be back. Thanks to all the staff of the Grand Park Royal Luxury Resort for a great week, keep up the good work and we hope to see you soon.

Overall the hotel was ok. The rooms are a little dated and the beach are leaves much to be desired. Guests are entitles to use snorkeling equipment for 1 hour per day free of charge however, equipment is rarely available. Beware the time share salespeople who are running rampant throughout the lobby. They start off by acting like they are giving you a brief overview and explanation of the hotel facilities, but this quickly tirns into an attempt to get you to attend a sales presentation. My advice is ask the receptionist for a map and head straight to your room. If you are travelling with kids beware, dining options are very limited. Children are not allowed to eat at the Italian restaurant or the Caribbean restaurant; the only available options are the buffet (which was good for breakfast and lunch but terrible for supper) and the Mexican restaurant. Having not been informed of this before booking our trip we argued with the restaurant manager who eventually allowed us to eat at the Caribbean restaurant. HOWEVER, we were only allowed to dine outside (we were the only table outside) with no AC, as children are too noisy according to the restaurant manager. I can assure you that there were numerous other restaurant patrons who were dining inside that were far noisier than our children. We began our meal in exile trying to make the best of it when we noticed numerous very large cockroaches running all around our table, needless to say we immediately requested to be moved inside, the waiter was kind enough to oblige as the restaurant manager had finished his shift. I would also like to mention that when I threatened to make a complaint the restaurant manager stated, in plain English, that he is willing to live with complaints from guests travelling with children, however would not be able to accept complaints from adult guests travelling with no children. In other words families with young children are second tier guests as far as this hotel is concerned.

Really enjoyed my stay. This hotel is super clean, layout is very nice, ands small. Not a lot of walking around to get places. Felt very safe, and the food was pretty good, especially the a la carte restaurants. The beach is pretty small, but the snorkeling right off the beach made up for that, and the pools were super clean and beautiful. Love this place, will return.

We had a great trip to Grand Park in Cozumel, the resort is beautiful, the staff were absolutely amazing, very friendly. The la Cartes were excellent, the waiters that work there were hilarious, we found the food was very good, could of been warmer. The bar at the infinity pool was awesome the 2 girls that waitress there were sweet hearts, brought us drinks without waiting or asking, every day we went, they gave us hugs and kissed us on cheek. We love them, will be returning we had such a great time.

My wife and I visited the resort for a week on the last week of February 2019 and loved the resort. The rooms were very clean and through out the resort. The website for the resort stated pants and long sleeves shirt for the A la carte for men. Not the case, shorts, collar shirt and closed toes shoes were required. We found the food and coffee was not hot every time we for breakfast and lunch, it was warm. The coffee shop had very good and hot coffee. A good variety of food and would be excellent if it was hot. Friends of ours had kids and it had a kids sitting area which the parents loved. The other thing is you could walk off the resort onto the street and feel safe in the day time. We took several taxis to downtown Cozumel to the flee markets and found a souvenirs paradise. All made in Mexico. Perfect place for Scuba divers. The down side is the beach space was limited and only one type of whiskey (Jack Daniels) at the bars. On the list to visit again next yearMore

Very clean place, very friendly people/staff, lots of stuff to do. I've always felt comfortable on and off resort. Outdoor shopping center right out behind resort. Been there twice already and planning next trip. Just a quick cab ride or 40 minute walk to downtown.

The resort was excellent except for the incessant sales pitches.We could not sit in the lobby or approach the stairs without being offered something "FREE" in order to attend a 120 minute sales presentation. Saying "NO" didn't help because we would get offered something else.The other staff members were all very polite and always pleasant.Food was good/room was immaculate.I would recommend this resort,,just say NO and keep walking. Gates at Toronto airport closed earlier and we missed our flight. Had to pay extra to fly into Cancun and was told we had to find our way to Cozumel. Had no help from anyone. Called and left a message to the travel agency asking for help and no one called us back.This was our first trip to Mexico.The courtesy of a call back offering some assistance was all that we wanted.

We stayed here 2 years ago and couldn't wait to go back. Unfortunately we were disappointed and probably won't go back. Not to say we didn't have a good time, we did but there have been a number of changes that have changed our opinions. First the good. The staff. You don't get any better service anywhere. The employees here work hard and there goal is to make the guests happy. From the wait staff to the bar staff.....amazing people. The other wonderful thing about this place is it is super clean. People are always cleaning whether its the bathrooms or the grounds or the hotel itself. The place is spotless. They have a fantastic gym with equipment that works and free wifi. The snorkeling is also great right off of the beach although I would recommend water shoes. The specialty restaurants are also fantastic and worth going to. The rooms are basic, but super clean, the fridge always stocked and the air-conditioning works which is fantastic. Now for the not so good. The buffet is the smallest we have ever encountered. 2 years ago this was not a problem as the food they offered was themed up each night and very good. This year it was the same food each night......very slim pickings. No fresh cook station except a taco station most nights, no pasta station or stir fry station......just what was in the hot warmers. The other disappointment was the evening entertainment. 2 years ago it was fantastic. This year very very poor. Again, not a bad vacation, we did enjoy ourselves, but feel that the food and entertainment could be so much better.

Grand Park Royal is a very nice place, it may not be a newer hotel but it is extremely well kept. Everything works, hot water in shower, free safe, free in room wifi maybe not the fastest but could still stream Netflix Shows. 3 nice very clean pools,water a little cold in January but that is common across the board. Food was very good but we did notice that they had less variety this time around as we had been here 2 yrs ago. All the staff from house keeping to waiters and front desk were extremely nice and always trying to please you. The beach is a little small but the upside is great snorkeling with coral reefs and hundreds of fish to see. This was not a problem for us cause we knew the beach was small and planned to do our walking on a nice safe sidewalk by the ocean going to the town. Well located to do many excursions and only a 15 - 20 min cab ride from the airport. We would come again mainly for the great staff that made it a great vacation for us. Thank you very much 😊

Loved the heat crystal clear water and the ambience! Food was good,staff extremely pleasant and overall a terrific holiday! I really wish there was a long sandy beach to walk on. There was one problem, in the evening there was no lounge area to sit in. What was there was not enough

This resort was nice. It was clean and an intimate size. The a la carte restaurants were good especially the seafood one during the day! So delicious. The snack bars are pretty good even the one buy the main building across from the main buffet. They serve chicken wings and they are good. This is not the place for you if your looking for a beach but the pool areas definitely make up for that. No nightlife but your close enough to go outside the resort to local bars or clubs if that’s what your looking for. If you want peace and quite no one to bother you and I nice relaxing vacation the this is the resort for you. Also the cruise ships are no worries yes they are there practically everyday but there a distance away and it’s interesting to watch the ppl come and go.

We had a great time, hotel was clean and the food was good. It’s close to everything, so super easy to get to all the places for day trips. The only issues we had was the walls in the hotel are paper thin. We switched rooms once and it didn’t help, it was almost as if our neighbors were right in the room with us...hotel staff was more then willing to move us again or give the neighbors a warning tho. Also, the beach area wasn’t that big.

Resort is OK, nothing spectacular. If you are looking for a beach vacation, this is not the place. Beach is extremely disappointing - tiny for size of the hotel and your view is blocked by cruise ships all the time. If you want a spot by the pool, make sure you get out and reserve your spot before 8AM (finally got this figured out by Day 3). Want a dining experience, make sure you book it days in advance. I was told book at noon for the evening. When I did, they were booked for days so never got to use my a la carte dining. My fault for not booking sooner but wish they had mentioned this on arrival. Hotel is clean, staff friendly but not overly helpful, beds are extremely hard and uncomfortable and none of my booking preferences were honored. Overall my experience was mediocre. Wish I had looked at reviews from other sites before booking.

Have made numerous trips to Mexico and this resort is now one of my favourite.super location,beautiful grounds and wonderful service .Rooms are clean and spacious with views of the Caribbean if in the higher floors with a view of the cruise ships arrivals and departures. Only the buffets were a bit of a disappointment but we were able to satisfy our appetites .Specialty restaurants were very nice . Smaller beach area but 3 pools. Overall a great resort that we would recommend

This was our second time to this resort. Great family fun, 2 older adults (in our 50s) and a 21 year old and a 15 year old. There were activities for everyone. Resort is small but very well laid out. A la cartes were wonderful, infinity pools were awesome. Rooms were nice and clean. Beach was very small, but excellent for snorlking.

Everything was fantastic my only complaint is that there are not enough beach chairs as they let people from the cruise ships buy day passes and the chairs are spoken for from 8am so I was left sitting on concrete for most of the days. I made the most of it but given the amount I travel and the amount I spent to stay here it was disappointing.

My self along with 6 others from my family stayed at the Grand park Royal from February 3-10 2017! My first impression as we arrived was "wow" the hotel was beautiful, amazing architectural design of the inside and outside of hotel! Instantly greeted by staff with a beverage! Very quick check in! Room was spacious for 2 adults and 2 children! Our view was of the main pool, which was beautiful to wake up to in the mornings! Buffett breakfast was great, two side of the buffet to get your breakfast from, with fresh eggs made to your liking everyday! Hotel staff where friendly and gave very quick service! Hotel grounds where very well kept and always clean! Room was cleaned very well each day! My kids enjoyed the many foods catered to kids especially for my picky children lol Dinner was very enjoyable as well, didn't do much of the lunch buffet since we stayed at the beach and pool all day and enjoyed the food by the poolside! The cafe with plenty of choices for ice cream was one of my kids favourite thing to have! A few things to improve on is more beach/pool chairs! I had to wake up at 7am everyday to try and get a chair! Another thing would be to open the other side of the buffet in the evenings! With only one side open the line up for food was very long! Didn't understand why they would have two sides open for breakfast but not dinner! I would highly recommend you book your al carte dinners right away because availability is limited! Other then that the hotel exceeded my expectations! I would highly recommended this hotel to others! Mainly family, couple and older adults! Definitely a hotel to just relax, if you are looking for a party scene I would look else where! Look forward to visiting this resort again

Really liked Hotel grounds and building. Lots of marble and very clean. Staff friendly and always willing to help. Love the coffee and ice cream shop and also buffet and other restaurants had good food with themes different nights- Carribbean,Japanese and Mexican which were delicious. The poor experiences I had was with the Sunwing representative at the resort Arteur Calderon who did not relay information well at all. He started giving info at the airport before everyone was present and once back at hotel was basically absent unless he was at his desk. He is too busy to speak about anything other than outside excrusions and it was a very big deal to even get our voucher for taxi to airport upon leaving. Very self important man who talked over and over about the same thing which was very boring. We also had requests placed when booking for King beds as we were three couples travelling together. We also wanted rooms near each other but the front reception at Grand Park Royal Cozumel did not seem to have a clue about this and indeed was going to place us two floors away from the other couples. No King beds available I guess as suddenly their english seemed nonessistent although the porter in the lobby had excellent english. Really if they could have just explained we could not be accommodated as requested because it was not available we would have understood but they acted like it was all new information. This was very disappointing at the beginning of our week but like the hotel porter said "more Tequila" and that did seem to help. Would recommend this resort as it is close to town, taxi, ferry and moped and jeep rentals and so lots of fun on resort and off.

Resort was fantastic. My family really enjoyed the entire resort. Nice and compact so not far to walk to get to anything. Watching the cruise boats come and go was entertaining and not bothersome at all. Food was very good and all of the staff aim to please. View from our oceanfront room was so nice. Very clean and well kept. Snorkeling right at the resort was very good. Dont believe the negative comments on some websites Only complaint was cold hottubs

This my second time here and would go a third and fourth,. The rooms, service,location, pools, were amazing. The food was mostly very good maybe more alacarts would be nice and more beach chairs. My only complaint would be the walking paths are rough and rocky not the greatest for walling.

This resort is a great escape for couples and families. The selection of food and quality was very good. We especially enjoyed the selection on the buffet that changed on a daily basis they had theme nights each night that consisted of TexMex Italian Caribbean Mexican and international dishes. The rooms for a very spacious and exceptionally clean we received great service when dealing with the front desk they were very courteous and very helpful. We really like the location for this resort one for the fact that you could travel downtown to downtown Cozumel easily by catching a cab or if you enjoy walking it's approximately a 40 minute walk to the downtown area. The selection of pools were great two pools at the ocean were very refreshing and the bar staff was exceptional they were always very courteous and a lot of fun to deal with. The views from our hotel room were amazing we were in the second building facing the cruise ships. It was an ocean view room that had all the amenities. The nice thing about this resort is they had very clean washrooms located at both the two pools at the ocean as well as a number of washrooms in the main lobby and bar area. There was also a bikini bar at the main pool which serves great food such as chicken wings nachos and cheese and other tasty treats. There was never a lack of food at anytime of the day as well as room service delivered directly to your room 24 hours. As for Wi-Fi connection we had no issues with the regular no cost free Wi-Fi accessing it from our room as well as the pools or anywhere on the resort The only thing I would caution people if you have a hard time walking the stone walkways at the resort were very uneven and it made it difficult for older people to navigate.

Hotel was very clean, friendly staff, food was very good, activities all day if you wanted, or relax by the 3 pools. Snorkling was included, amazing experience. If you leave the hotel grounds, be very careful of dishonest people. Almost got taken for by local gas station, filling rental jeep.

WAS nice a lot of walking with a bad back. Service was good the only catch was we had a 12 year old she was only allowed in one resterent. because she was a kid.MY wife got her necklace taken and bracelet taken from room

This was a great resort. The service was fantastic. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The food was flavourful and delicious. The infinity pools were beautiful. The beach itself was small but the snorkelling was great. The beach fills up quickly due to it's small size and there are often cruise ship passengers that can pay to use the resort when the ship is docked for the day. There is not too much nightlife on the resort but the entertainment staff try hard and do provide some fun great shows like the Mayan dance which was incredible. There is sometimes live music by the lobby throughout the week. Señor Frogs is a quick taxi ride away if you are looking for more nighttime fun (which it is!). Catching the ferry to the Playa del Carmen is also near by and I highly recommend if you are looking for more shopping, restaurants and a change in scenery. Also the public beach there is beautiful.

The Grand Park Royal Cozumel resort was a pleasure from top to bottom. Cleanliness, service, food, grounds, location, amenities, entertainment, were all fantastic! My wife and I can't say a bad thing about it in any aspect. The only word of advice we can offer the ladies is to be careful in heels on some of the naturals limestone pathways. We were a little concerned going in with the smaller size of the beach and the proximity of the cruise ships and the view they would possibly impede. In hindsight, we are able to say neither turned out to be of any concern at all. We plan to revisit this resort in the future.

The hotel is very beautiful. Grounds are well kept. Service was very good. Rooms are very nice,clean and well kept. Ocean views are breathtaking. Restaurants and buffet food is good to excellent. Drawbacks at the resort are very cold pools and small rocky beach. The beach is good for those who snorkel as the water is crystal clear with many different types and colours of fish. The hotel is well appointed with large clean rooms. The beach is small, but never overcrowded and with two infinity pools and hot tubs choices are available. There is also a main pool. A la carte restaurants offer a good choice and the buffet restaurant varies themes daily. Entertainment is provided in the main area as well as at the amphitheater. Service is exemplary at all times, and tipping is optional without penalty. The resort is lush with tropical greenery and several bars and bistros keep you well fed and watered. Free wifi is provided. All in all a good 4.5 star that checks all the boxes.

As travelers with medium expectations from their future travels we were somehow well positioned to like our recent stay at this resort. The resort is well maintained and people at divers levels of maintenance, service or managing look you in the eye and you know they strive to give you the best experience. What we liked and what we suggest to improve is next. We liked a lot the possibility to snorkel right out of the (little) beach. We liked a lot the availability and diversity of beach gear for laying low and get a tan (or not) for those seeking the sun or the shade. As we traveled in early January and evaluating that the resort was half full we suppose that in peak season this availability would be compromised. We liked the animation team efforts to bring each batch of vacationers to speed until they leave. We liked the reliability of food and drinks supplying chain. There is a diversity of options and the quality is good while other resorts seem to us having more variety. from day to day. The seafood restaurant with full window wall seaside is awesome while the experience of the italian restaurant is overall good. Both have to improve though the quality of some of their offerings. The full fried fish tasted like it was previously frozen for a decade (lol) and the rib steak medium was in fact rare. Had to be re -cooked, second time perfect. Liked the room service, included in the all included package, liked the room maintaining, in-room safe, the furnished little fridge (bottled water, beer and sodas), the choice of TV channels offered. But the Standard Definition makes for the majority of the customers an unbearable time when you have to pass some time indoors. And that is because most of us have HD channels for some time now, making the transition to 4k back at home. Hope you know what I mean.. The toiletries offered in the bathroom were very basic (shampoo body lotion and soap) , compared with comparable 4 stars resorts. Wifi is offered complimentary but the quality is spotty , probably to make way for a premium version. The improvement and the fusion of this nowadays basic need could be envisioned. The number of the pools and jacuzzi is ok I guess but I wonder what is like when hotel is full. We were a little bit startled that the jacuzzi were not heated as we saw elsewhere. The fact that one was defective was not remarked by people We bought 3 tickets for three unrelated , mixed gender, adults. This situation is not envisioned as the rooms are designed to accommodate only a couple (even that two double beds are provide). Without shower privacy the stay of even a couple with kids is problematic at best. There are only two-of-everything provided with the room.We had to beg several times to have this issue addressed. Some extra shampoo was provided , a bottle water and an extra beer. The 4 towels original provided were in turn adequate. Loved the IceCream and coffee place which also offered sandwichs and little pastries. Loved the distribution of bars and washrooms, the quality of their maintenance. Loved the glass that is everywhere making for unobstructed view to enjoy the beautiful layout of the resort.Loved the under-the-road passage to go to the beach that makes a non issue the fact that the main facilities of the resort are the other side of the road that longs the shore. The proximity of the cruise pier could be a plus for some that love these marvels of machineries that are the cruise ships or a downside for some that would like less disturbed (and subject to possible pollution) waters. The quality of the water seems very good none the less. All in all a good experience and a near perfect vacation with a stellar team at your service.

First resort I have been to that is in the heart of the city, but you can hardly tell. A beautiful cave like tunnel under the main street to the beach. The infinity pools and beach area are terrific. Mind you, you stare at all the wonderful cruise ships all day long and they obstruct the beautiful sunset. Food and beverages are great at all the dining areas, as well as the nice cafe. I am surprised that of all the hotels or resorts I have been to, this resort charges $10/day for the small fitness center (like really?). We spent New Year's at the resort and it was probably the worst New Year's party I have ever been to. Not worth the extra cost for the time frame. All the rooms face the ocean, but the "garden view" rooms are below the tree/palm line, so you can't really see the shoreline. The beach area with the reef is amazing, no need to do an extra excursion to see fish, as the underwater Mayan statues are just to the north a couple of doors away. Make sure you do not book a room on the fourth floor under the fifth floor Royal Club Customer appreciation rooms (take a walk up to the fifth floor and you will understand). A ton of noise of banging tables, chairs and high heels at 6 a.m. every day. We had to move to another room. I am very sorry to have to report that things were stolen from our rooms, even though the rooms were very well looked after by staff. Packed our pack back for the day, went for breakfast and came back to find the earphones were taken from our backpack while away. Our other room had a sum of cash removed from it. If you like a very firm bed, you'll be fine. As all the rooms are equipped with nice firm beds (not good if you sleep on your side). WiFi is usually terrific, so if you are out of country and don't want a data plan, you can get away with using their WiFi.

I don't have many cons about the resort other than I wish it had more of a beach and that it was easier to walk around the resort. It has a cobble like finish and was very hard to walk on, as it dipped in places, and some stones were missing. But the food, the people, the cleanliness, the assistance was all above board.

Loved the resort, it's compact and that means no long walks to rooms, beach or snack bars... Excellent food, loved the ice cream cafe... Shows weren't very good compared to other larger resorts so that was a disappointment . .theatre seating was concrete too..no padding to sit on . .should have cushions...same for beach loungers...

Very tropical resort and clean! Service was good. My cousin and I went for her 50th birthday and we had a great time. Maybe a bit more food could be added to the evening buffet. I would definitely go back.

Generally, this is a decent resort. The negative for us was that the beach was not very big - it's really small! It would seem that there is no natural beach at the waterfront of this resort, but that they've trucked in sand. This area of Cozumel is very 'reefy'. However, the payoff here is that the snorkelling right at the resort is very, very good. You can see all kinds of different fish and marine life, we enjoyed that. As well, the resort has made up for the fact that there isn't much of a beach by having pools and decks right at the waterfront. However, the whole waterfront area tended to be a bit crowded and closed in. The rooms are quite fine - nothing super fancy, but it is bright and clean and the beds are comfy. The food was good, not great. There is always stuff to eat, although I've been to other resorts were the eating was a bit fancier. Overall, fine though, just not over the top. We enjoyed the mexican and italian a la carte restaurants. The drinks were fine, nothing to complain about in that department. A big positive in the drink/food department is the coffee bar where you can get espresso drinks and at this place they also have ice cream! You can get iced coffees made with soft serve and espresso - tasty! The service and staff were friendly and attentive. My complaint regarding the staff is that all of the servers are men (this is a complaint about the management, not the staff). No women are hired to wait on tables at this resort or work at the bars; I did not see one the whole 7 days I was there. There are women working at the resort in other capacities (like at the front desk, restaurants hostesses and cleaning), but it seems quite sexist in the sense that only men are permitted in the positions that would provide the majority of tips. I would also guess that 75% of the employees at this resort are men. This is quite noticeable and something the management should strive to change. I would not go back to this resort on this ground alone. Times have changed, albeit more slowly in developing countries, but I think this particular resort needs to really look at its hiring practices. While there are some things we didn't like (small beach), overall we enjoyed our stay here. You can't go too wrong booking this resort, unless you are totally focused on a big beach and long walks on the beach or if you care in a substantive way about equality in the workplace (don't go here if so).

The food was way above the quality of the many resorts we have been to. The coffee shop ice cream Cafe was an extra added bonus, which we utilized each day. There was plenty of activities to do for our family. The snorkelling right in front of the resort was beyond great! I only had 2 things that were not favourable to this resort. When looking for an outing you were constantly asked to do the time share presentation. The other, which did not affect our family, but could impact if you wanted to stay at the resort, is the fact that the beach area is small, and if you are a beach walker, this would not be the resort for you. We would gladly go back another time. The staff never expected tips (although we typically tipped a couple of dollars after meals).

Very well maintained all the way around. Excellent service. Excellent variety of drinks. Prompt and courteous service. Pools were great, but beach area was quite small and very rocky. Not enough beach chairs for guests.

We were not sure about this resort But we're we surprised. The staff are unreal. They are there to help in any way possible. The food was great. No shortage of choices. Snorkeling was really good just out in front. The only downfall to the resort that we found that there are not enough chairs in the main lobby area. We will be back.

Hi.. The food, booze, staff were all very good.. Cleanliness was as good as it gets as well.. Small beach and shortage of loungers... This is partly a members resort and sales people approach when you get there but don't persist if you say no thanks.. If you want to go the other beaches it's best to go to the beach clubs not that far away for a day... Overall great experience.. Thanks

The grounds well maintained, rooms need some renovation, very nice people. The resort is close to town which is safe. The beach is a let down, almost inexistent and the water in the pool a bit cold; in general a good resort.

The Park Royal was wonderful. The rooms, pools and service were top notch. We loved the Italian, Carribeno and Mexican restaurants and the buffet was very good as well. There was a show every evening - most very good (the break dancing show was amazing). Our main concern was very few seats in the upper and lower lobbies. We often could not get a seat when going for a drink before our dinner reservation - this would be easy to remedy as there is room for more tables and chairs. Other than that it was great and we would return to this resort in the future.

The grounds were well kept & public areas very clean alll the time. The rooms were very spacious We had an oceanview room and were on the 8th floor; the view was spectacular! The a la carte restaurants were excellent; the staff were very attentive and the food was very enjoyable. The only thing we found difficult at this resort was the stone walkways around the resort; they were uneven and difficult to walk on all the time. My husband and I are in our sixties and found this cumbersome; we constantly had to watch our feet to make sure we didn't trip. We talked to a couple of people in their wheel chairs and using walkers and this was a problem for them as well. You can tell this is an older resort just from looking at the first set of stairs we encountered going from the lobby to the main grounds and also the bridge going from the main grounds over to the bikini bar.

Everything about this resort was amazing. My boyfriend and I travelled the first week of Feb. The staff at Grand Park Royal will go out of their way to get you anything you need and make you smile. Food was great and the size of the resort was perfect! We'd go back in a heartbeat!!! Amazing bang for your buck!!!

What a fantastic stay at this resort! I can't say enough. The staff were wonderful, very attentive to detail. Our room was gorgeous, very clean and decorative. The grounds were very clean and picturesque, staff always cleaning. The beachfront was beautiful. ..2 infinity pools. .2 tubs and sandy area were great. Plenty of chairs for everyone. 2 snack bars had great food. Had the opportunity to do all 3 specialty restaurants. ..Caribbean was our favorite! The Veranda buffet offered many foods to choose from. The Cafe Sol was a great addition. ..the cappuccinos and ice cream were awesome! Nightly entertainment was a nice touch..the Mayan show was our favorite. Bars offered premium liquor and served great drinks. The resort only has 350 rooms. ...so was never super busy and loud! All in all...a fantastic stay .

This resort exceeded my expectations for the relatively low cost... what a great value! The food and service were excellent. The nightly shows were good. Two minor critiques... the pools were cold, and I would have liked more activities.

We quite enjoyed our 2 week stay at Grand Park Royal in Cozumel. We loved the small resort and that everything was in close proximity. The staff were fantastic and very helpful and friendly. We only wish there was more of a selection on the buffet. Would return for sure.

This is a very beautiful resort. Very clean, best food ever, very professional friendly staff. Just a great place, highly recommended! The beach was quite small, man made but nice. Lots of areas to spread out from beach to several pools around the property. The buffet food was so good we didn't do al la carte. The outdoor dining was a nice touch too. Only thing was some stairs down from the lobby and cobble stone paths which might make it a problem for those with mobility issues.

Had a great vacation. Everyone went out of their way to provide us with comfort. Grounds are lovely, but walking on all the stone pathways was treacherous in high heels so leave them at home. Beach is small but we could snorkel right there (snorkels provided) . We decided to upgrade to an oceanview room and were not disappointed as we did not look directly out at the Cruise Ships but across toward Akumal. Rooms were modern and extremely clean, water and sodas and beer in the bar fridge daily. Bathroom was tight but adequate. All the food was exceptional, but our favorite was at the new Caribbean Restaurant. The Vacation Club sales people are always there, but I found them very polite and a special thank you to Suhail who was most helpful. Would love to go back! Not a lot of evening entertainment and something musical would have been nice.

The resort is very small, limited space for walking, found the streets to be safe but not as pretty as walking through some of the larger resorts we have stayed at. We were hounded by the 'club staff' to take a tour and receive a free gift! Upon check in we were placed in a room with a king size bed, we had a 2 and 6 year old. After calling for a crib three times, we were told We couldn't get a cot, after several phone calls and being disconnected I went to the front desk, was told we could upgrade for only $150 for the two weeks to a junior sweat. The room backed onto construction and the motorcycles could be heard in our room, so I asked to check the room First to see if it would work. Upon my return the 'shark club' was upset when I told them I wouldn't be attending a tour, and he spoke Spanish to the manager, all the sudden the upgrade was $40/ night.... When I told them I was just told $150 he then said that's per week. He told me I could take the tour and it would all be taken care of For free. No thanks - charge me the $300! Scammers! Night two my daughter get food poisoning, night three my son, me I have an iron stomach!) Enjoy loud music on Sat night shaking your hotel room. The food was okay, I have had better in Cuba, very limited flair with night time buffets. Same thing every night- different sauces The animation /entrainment staff are excellent, they really enjoy their jobs And worked very hard to get people up to make games happen. The resort needs some upgrades, lots of steps, and not great for Older travellers The beach is small- and while the resort Was only 60% full the resort allows day passes for ships at Port and locals for mini holidays Over all made the best of what we had to deal with Many people on our trip suffered from Diahrea, and hand washing was rarely observed at the snack bar, when attempts made soap not used. Rooms very small, not fancy- and washroom was so Small barely closed the door, without hitting toilet Overall a 3 star in my mind - not sure how they think it's a five Evening shows were poor They build a tunnel to take you to the beach, cars and sirens could be heard in our rooms, at the pools (road about 100 feet away) Enjoy the loud music from

We had a fabulous time at the Grand Park Royal Cozumel (Dec 2015). It turns out we picked the perfect week to go because they had just opened a new Caribbean restaurant in addition to their Mexican and Italian as well as added room service and a new cafe where they serve cappucinos and ice cream. The resort was extremely clean from our room to the grounds. The beds were very comfortable (we were in an end unit with a king sized bed and our teenage children were in an adjoining room. Everyone was helpful and friendly. The beach was small but adequate with them making the best use of the space available. They provide free snorkelling gear for and hour a day. They also had daily volleyball games and nightly entertainment. Overall we had a very relaxing and enjoyable time which was the reason we went to an all inclusive.

Very clean and the staff was very friendly. The pools and beach were awesome. The beach is a little small but I really didn't mind that. Easy to snorkel right off the beach. Not great snorkeling but some neat fish and definitely something to do for an hour or so. I will say that the food wasn't great. The breakfast was always luke warm to cold. But you could always get a burger or chicken wings at the beach and pool bars and those were really good. Also, the self serve nachos were delish! I would definitely go back. It was great for what I needed.

The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The service was great, all employees very friendly. The food was great and there was always something to eat during the day/night. The location of the resort was great, very close to the airport as well as downtown. Lots of activities to do on the resort as well as nearby. Would definitely travel back again.

We had a wonderful time at Park Royal Cozumel. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food was great and much variety. The pools and hot tubs were wonderful and the view was amazing with the cruise ships so close. Snorkelling was great. Our room and bathroom was very spacious and always clean. We loved it all.

Check in was smooth, room was clean but only 2 double beds. We were near the exit door to the stairs that banged every time some one went through it. I told front desk about the problem but it seemed they could not fix it. Stay off the second floor. The food was good not great some of the deserts went overboard on sugar. lots of time share sells people just say not interested and they will leave you alone. The only real problem was the Sunwing rep. In Cozumel there is no bus to take you to and through to the airport you have to get a taxi trip from your rep there. He will tell you that they are having a meeting after your first day but when we got there we noticed that there was no meeting but a line up of couples being hard sold on tours before you got your taxi chit to get back to the airport.

Need king beds , coffe maker , clock and fridge . Resort and staff great , clean ,friendly efficient staff . There was always a shortage of chairs around the pool and at the beach . And we were always bugged by time share reps...never again !

The food was really good, we were so pleased we booked at the Royal. The hotel was very clean and the staff very professional and friendly. We ate at the buffet every nite, great selection of food. The beach area very small, be love a beach, but we still enjoyed it. The shopping was great,both downtown and at the plaza near where the cruiseships stop. Lots of jewellery stores. Toured the island as well, would definitely go back to Cozumel, there is still lots to do there. The best part was we felt safe at all times. this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.)

The Good, *Hotel and grounds are well kept, truly beautiful. *Staff make the stay at this resort. The food was excellent, the fish was delicious. Try the Coconut Crusted Grouper in the Mexicana Restaurant . *My husbands luggage did not make it and the staff directed us where to go to purchase him personal items and clothes for the week. What a Memorable trip! * Rented a van with other couples, visited the East side of the island for the second time, a must to see. Coconuts restaurant elevated above the Ocean, great views, beautiful beaches and local vendors. The Bad, *Rooms were comfortable, though requested a King size bed and was told they were only for the Royal Vacation Group. Ended up with 2 doubles for the first time at any resort, we have stayed in. They were as hard as rock and I have read this in reviews prior to our stay. Caused sore backs! * Requested an Ocean View at booking and was told that there were none available when we arrived. * Royal Vacation Group, aggressive. Sat through a long session of about 2.5 hours and told it would only be 1.5. * If you have a late flight, Nolitours/Airtransat told us there would be a complimentary room to freshen up for us and the front desk said no to other guests, though we were fortunate to have made friends during the week, that took care of us and our luggage until we departed to airport. * Ale carts booked the same day, line ups long, though I was always, one of the first in line and waited a good hour to book.

Small sand area, but great lounge platforms right up at the ocean. Great snorkling right off the sand. Amazing pool areas with lots of trees, but pools are not heated!! Cleanest all inclusive we have ever stayed at. Buffet okay. Restaurants both very good food and great service.
