When it was raining my room was flooded and when I complained nobody cared about my problems after 3 days with lots of stress I put towel behind my door ?managers was so rude when I cried he walked away and never apologized.

Positives 1. Clean, comfortable beds and rooms Extras - Shampoo, conditioner, body wash included Make up mirror with light, magnification 2. Excellent selection on buffet 3. Speciality restaurant 4. Great bar beverages and good selection of non alcoholic drinks 5. Entertainment had something every night but mostly oriented to families. Not cruise ship caliber entertainment but not nothing. 6. Beautiful long, beach but very powerful undertow 7. Diamond club perks, early buffet seating with designated area Top shelf liquor for drinks Designated beach area loungers 8. The wrist band you wear is your door key 9. Best check in we've experienced because we were diamond club. Negatives 1. Food allergies are requested by staff but not acted upon. I had to ask for a manager in order to have it attended. 2. They tried to sell a membership into their resorts. Very heavy handed sales pitch 3. Lots of families (not what we were looking for) 4. No designated smoking section outside at pool and beach areas 5. Occasional loss of water in rooms 6. Although you have access to other affiliated resort the foot print of the main resort is relatively small in comparison to other resorts we've been in.

Hotel, accommodation, grounds, beach, food, staff was all excellent EXCEPT THE BATHROOM Bathroom OLD and not to standard. Sink was spewing water on the mirror when tap was running. *Shower: MOLD and Mildew, dirty looking. When taking a shower, water leaks out to the floor. Needs to be totally refinished to be acceptable. Toilet, bolts were missing the cover and it was black and nasty looking.

We just got back from The Royalton Punta Cana. The resort is beautiful, service was very good and the food plentiful. We ate at many different restaurants over the week and enjoyed the Japanese one most! We had a very helpful butler Omar with the diamond club. He worked hard to get us reservations over the course of the week. Unfortunately two of us got sick during the week. More like a 24 hour bug but still no fun. Beach was lovely. Waves added a lot of fun to our time in the water. It was never calm when we were there.

We stayed here dec12-19, the hotel is beautiful and well kept, the food is really good and we did mainly stick to the buffet. I have noticed that service isn’t as attentive as it use to be (drink orders) Really my only slight disappointment was the room and the Wifi signal. Our room when booked was called Diamond Club Luxury room and there was nothing luxury about it, just a small room king bed and one sink with little counter space. Clean yes and comfy bed but not what I expected especially for Diamond club. As for the Wifi at least for me constantly in and out which was annoying. Other then that we had a great time

We travelled to Royalton Punta Cana in April, and look forward to returning there! Our room was Diamond Club 1 bedroom presidential swim out, and it was amazing! It had been 10+ yrs since we travelled due to serious injuries from a car accident, and then Covid. I was a bit worried how I would handle a resort with my mobility issues. This resort was not only beautiful, it was the perfect resort for us! Located in building 6, we were central to both the lobby and the beach, with the restaurants in between, it was less than 4 minute walk anywhere, even with my limitations. We've never booked a swim out room before, but will every trip we go on in the future! The Diamond Club pool was clean, and usually not very busy. We either spent our time here, or on the beach. 5 of our days here we booked a Cabana and we would definitely recommend this! Maria & Theresa are wonderful! Price is $99/day, which includes either champagne or Corona, as well as a bucket of ice with bottled water (ice is regularly topped up). Your lunch is served to you there so you don't really have to go anywhere if you don't want to! You should get coupon booket from Diamond Club which includes cabanas $25 off/day (we had 3) The beach was the most beautiful I've ever seen! Although the waves can get a little strong, it was only really bad one day we were there. It's always kept extremely clean! We didn't use the other pools, so I can't really say what they were like. We did take the trolley to Splash for the waterpark, which my husband and daughter enjoyed. It's very simple to take trolley back and forth. It's the best of both worlds, as Royalton Punta Cana is a bit of a smaller resort (perfect for us), but you're attached to Splash, so also have access to the water park and their restaurants as well. Restaurants were great! Our favourite was definitely Hunters, where we went 2 days. Also went to Zen (Japenese) which our daughter loved! and even my picky husband liked the food, and Mexican restaurant at Splash (felt the servings were a bit small here, but food was good). Other couple days we chose to eat at the buffet (due to only late reservations being available) which we felt was good. Favourite server there was definitely Yonathan (who also works at Hunters) Staff in general was wonderful. We really liked the staff in the Diamond club, and our daughter found someone in there (sorry, forget her name) who made her daily ice coffees, which according to her were "even better than Starbucks". Our Butler was Omar, and he was good. He would find us everyday to see if there was anything we needed, arranged for us to go to the local 'market' to buy soveniers to take home (Free taxi...it's a little further than outside the gates, but money goes back into the Dominican economy, and you get a drive to see the area as well!), and arranged a wonderful surprise for us for our anniversary dinner. We would be happy to have him again. Most everyone we encountered seem to go above and beyond for us. I wish I could remember more names! Our travel agent Martine through Tripcentral was wonderful, and extremely helpful to this anxious traveller! A few things that made our trip even better, and that we would recommend and do again....book the lounge at the airports. We booked them both ways! We also booked private transfer to and from the resort through our travel agent. Even though transportation was included in our package, paying a little extra for this service made a huge difference to us! All in all, we loved the Royalton Punta Cana, and will definitely return!

The Royalton Punta Cana Upon arrival to the Royalton Punta Cana we upgraded to the Diamond Club and were introduced to Denis. Denis was our Butler for the time of our stay at the resort. Denis was amazing and he helped us with booking of all a la carte restaurants and was very caring and attentive. We especially enjoyed practicing Spanish with Denis and had a lot of great conversations. Denis made our stay at the resort special and it felt like we had a friend. The Royalton Punta Cana is a nice hotel located on Bavaro beach. The beach (12 miles long) is beautiful with powdery white sand and turquoise waters. The beach is clean and maintained daily. The staff at this resort are very helpful and very friendly. The food is good and if you are a fruit lover you will enjoy the wide selection of fresh fruit. The best a la caret restaurant was Jade offering Thai food. In addition to several a la carte restaurants and a large buffet there is a coffee shop offering a variety of coffees, pastries and gelato. The resort also offers a few stores with beach wear, jewellery, perfumes, accessories and snacks. There are daily shows, kids club and yoga sessions in the morning. There is also a casino and a Martini bar. This resort is great for both families and adults (the Hideaway section of the resort). There are opportunities for excursions, sports and other attractions at additional cost. Overall for value I would recommend this resort as it meets the all inclusive standards.

Everything about the resort was amazing. Food, entertainment beach services. Modesto from entertainment team was amazing. All the members of entertainment team went all out to make sure we were enjoying our stay. My only negative was room service. First night we arrived late and ordered something to eat and were told about 30 min wait and we waited 2 hours and when we got the food the order was not the right one. Other that that we were totally satisfied and would recommend this resort .

To be very honest I thought the resort itself was a little tired and in need of some freshening up. Some of the seat covers in the buffet restaurant were worn and the bathrooms needed a bit of care. We were a group of 14 and we wanted to eat together at dinner time and we had a great deal of difficulty making that happen even though we upgraded to the Diamond Club. It was upsetting to me because the trip was to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary with our children and grandchildren and we had hoped to have dinner together every night. Despite having room available at the various restaurants, they would not move tables to accommodate us, without pressure on our part, which was upsetting to me. The Theatre where the night time shows were held had many broken seats which made it necessary for many people to stand. The Kids Club was not what we expected, it was just a very small area and there was no supervision. The family (ages 4 to 48) had a wonderful time at the Waterpark at the adjoining Royalton Splash resort. We would definitely recommend that for families. The beach was beautiful but always very wavy. There were some very strong waves and significant undertow which were easily handled once you grew accustomed to it but close adult supervision was needed for children or anyone who couldn't swim. Unfortunately, a man drowned in the ocean on the Saturday of our vacation and two more would have drowned if my son and his partner hadn't been swimming nearby and heard them call for help. After getting the two safely to shore my son swam back out for the third man but he could not find him in the large waves. It took much too long for the life guards to get to the scene and they were not properly equipped to save anyone. They did not have a boat which they had to go back down the beach to get in order to find the man. It took over half an hour from the time the life guards were first called till they had the boat and were able to find the victim. It was very upsetting to everyone present and I think people should be warned to swim at their own risk. Despite all of this I would recommend this resort to friends as we had a great time until Saturday.

Was very disappointed with young kids that they put us in a room outside the outdoor disco with music blaring late into the night. Also a lot of stairs. People at the resort weren’t as friendly as I was used to before Covid. Maybe they are tired of people being rude too

We had a great week at the Royalton Punta Cana. We did the diamond club but didn’t think the upgrade was worth it. The Score sports bar needs to work on the quality of its food offerings but the other restaurants were very good. The beach and grounds are beautiful. Service everywhere was fabulous and everyone was very friendly.

The Royalton Punta Cana was a fun resort with lots of activities and fun vibe. The food was amazing, especially the steakhouse. The ocean front was clean and well kept. Fitness activities were fun and varied. Enjoyed everything !

This was our first family vacation - 3 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents. This hotel catered to all ages and everyone enjoyed themselves. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was nothing short of excellent with lots of variety. We did pay to be upgraded to Diamond Club, and that was well worth the extra dollars. You were guaranteed a spot on the beach, had a personal concierge (to book dinner reservations, ensure you had everything in your room, provide suggestions for entertainment, etc.) and Diamond Club Members had their own private bar. I've been on many all-inclusive vacations, this was the first time with children. This resort is not for anyone that is looking to escape children, it is designed for families.

The Resort was very nice (unfortunately they were doing some construction which made it appear a bit less clean in some areas BUT it will look really nice when it is all completed ) The grounds and rooms were very nicely done and the staff was very friendly. Our favourite part of all was the beautiful beach for sure. !! Spent most of our time there. The one disappointment we had was that we had pre-paid for our rooms several weeks ahead of our vacation because we wanted to be in a certain area and to be next to our friends and have a great view of the resort But they gave our room to someone else even though we paid $70.80 US for them and we ended up on a different floor in a different part of the building from my friends with no view. Our friends got their room OK and every time we walked by I looked at the room I was supposed to have and I was disappointed Because it would’ve had a fabulous view of the whole resort and we would have been with our friends. When I talked to the reception about it they just said we will give you money back and they didn’t seem to be concerned at all So I would recommend when you get that email that says pre-pay your room don’t bother because you’re not going to get it if someone else is coming for a longer stay and wants that room. We were told we will get our $70.80 US back in 10 days so we will see. It was not the best way to start the vacation but we did really enjoy ourselves. The food was very good but I would recommend that you not waste your time trying to get into the restaurants Every nite because they rush you through the meal and there did not seem to be a whole Lot of ambiance. The buffets were just as nice and the staff were very friendly.

Check in and out was flawless. Good pools and a great beach. Hospitality suite was a bonus as we had a late evening flight. Staff were attentive especially when tipping. Food was very good. We were told no reservations were required for the restaurants but timeshare clients made them and were always a priority which was disappointing. Overall a very nice place.

We had a great week. The resort was beautiful. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. Our room was nice and clean. Entertainment was good. But a bit loud (our room was close to the main building).

Just returned from 7 days at the Royalton, beautiful resort and just the perfect size (no sore feet !) clean, food was delicious, spa was great, rooms were always clean ! Shows are great, 24 hr room service, grand memories splash was within walking distance although a shuttle runs every 5-10 mins. Nice to have access of both resorts. I 100% will stay here again, don’t mind any of the bad reviews .. can’t please everyone - this place was amazing !

Absolutely beautiful grounds and beach area! Public areas were impeccably clean and well maintained, including the pool area washrooms which have been less than clean at some other resorts I've seen in the Dominican. I went there with my two sons (18 and 12 years old) and we made use of the pools, arcade, tennis courts and beach area. The beach was stunning and very clean...life guards and security were evident all along the beach and had no difficulty with beach vendors (as I have had in the past) There is also a water park, and a lazy river at the sister resort Royalton Bavaro which was a ton of fun for all of us! Aqua aerobics and water Zumba were a blast! Food was generally pretty good at the Buffet...always a lot of choice for veggies and fruits...breakfast omelets were excellent and made-to-order. Visited the Italian Restaurant as well as Jade (Asian) and the Steak House which was fabulous! The staff were all friendly and helpful...only complaint in that regard would be the pressure to buy a vacation package...had to say NO 4-5 times before they got the message. Housekeeping staff do an amazing job and were easy to locate if you needed anything. Overall a great experience!

Great accommodations, great food and friendly service, the family had a great time. Awesome water park for the kids. Beach area was fabulous and well maintained. Grounds were immaculate. Will be definitely going back.

My boyfriend and I have stayed at our fair share of Royalton Resorts and we love the experience. The Punta Cana resort is a little older than some of the other Royalton’s we’ve stayed at in the past. Rooms and showers are a bit tinier but still nicely presented! What we loved: El Dorado restaurant Memories Splash Being Diamond/ hideaway guests - all the snacks and drinks Ariel from the Hideaway pool bar was Amazing!!! The struggles: We had troubles with the safe - easy fix We paid for an upgrade but didn’t quite get what we paid for initially. Angel and Stefani the manager were amazing and helped us get the perfect room in the end! Overall it was a good experience!

Overall experience was great...resort, food and grounds Pool bar was fabulous 🤗 More evening entertainment would be nice Foam pool party is a must to see and do I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants a nice quit getaway

Absolutely terrible resort! Nothing luxury about this resort. Extremely dirty rooms. We had to switch rooms because the first room’s mini fridge had been unplugged for so long, super dirty and smelled so bad! Second room we went to had poop/stool marks inside the toilet bowl! The food was absolutely disgusting! The only good food was at Japanese restaurant which was teppanyaki. And if you dont like Japanese food then there wont be any food in this resort for you so dont go! The resort says it has multiple restaurants and buffets, but thats a lie because more than half are not in this resort they are in the resorts beside them which is at least 20 min walk same with the Splash Pool Water Slides. Service was horrible! Nadia from Building #1 is the concierge and she lied to us about the resort discontinuing dinner reservations for the Japanese restaurant so we lost 1 night of eating actual real food. We asked her multiple times but she said no need for reservation. She was a terrible person and was very pushy into sales. Some little girl got Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and the resort made no reports of it even thought our friends saw her and her family going to the clinic. and she was covered in rashes. The resort didnt let parents know and that disease is contagious through air And saliva. And my 1 year daughter caught it most likely from the pool. So last 1.5 days we were indoors because my daughter had fever and was covered in rashes and we didnt want to make any other kids sick. Overall this resort was absolutely terrible and i would not recommend it at all. Just stay away from this resort dont waste your money!

Everyone has their hands out at this resort. Beware that you will be harassed and guilted into tipping or buying stuff the entirety of your stay while given absolutely no reason to do so. Beware that you will be annoying and bothering employees with your requests. Beware that there are no deadbolts on your suite doors, sliders don't lock, toilets don't work and HVAC systems make lots of noise and your requests for service and complaints will go unheard. Employees will walk into your room if you do not answer the door within 1.5 seconds of their first knock. WARNING: do not wear anything into the water that you don't mind losing - sunglasses, rings, etc. as the water is rough and you will never find it. But, there are people there that dive for lost stuff but good luck convincing them to give it back or even trying to buy your stuff back from them. Food has no flavour - we left two of the restaurants after a few bites as it was actually gross. The bars are constantly running out of alcohol so you have to wait or have to get something else that you don't really want. Oh, and if any employee talks about a special breakfast - DO NOT GO - they are trying to sell you a $45,000 membership! LOL. I hate that place soo much!

The cleanest resort we have ever been too!! The food was so delicious at every restaurant and buffet. The pools were so clean and the beach was too beautiful. We went as a group of 22. There were kids and adults. We had so much to do for everyone. The all white party, the fire show, the foam pool party and so many tours offered by nexus tours at the resort. We are planning to go to Jamaica and we were so happy to see that Royalton has a resort in Montego Bay too!!! Last but not least the people were sooooo nice and we felt beyond safe. They are so appreciative and generous. I thought canadians were the nicest people by my amigos and senoritas in Dominicano wereee beyond the nicest!!!

I would recommend this resort to anyone and would go back again in a heart beat. Room and resort was immaculate. Food was great. The buffet was one of the best i have seen for both quality and choice for any meal of the day. Service was first class. And the beach...It does not get any better.

We had a great time at the Royalton. Beach was very important for us and it lived up to it's expectations. There was one day with very strong winds/waves 2-3metres which caused a lot of seaweed to wash up the next day and it was all cleaned up the following day. One area the resort could work on would be the suite bathrooms. They are dark and the shower always leaked requiring several towels to be put in front of it to stop the pooling of water. The staff were extremely friendly and outgoing all the way through the resort. Great bartenders with great special mixed drink options (G&T with mint and passion fruit!) They always had something new for you to try! On our next visit we would go to the Royalton Bavaro about 10 minute walk up the beach. Much newer resort and same beach.

This resort is by far one of the nicest all-inclusives we’ve ever stayed at! Beach was beautiful, amenities and room very modern, grounds immaculatelt kept and such great service. Would be back in a heartbeat!

Hotel rooms are clear! Butler service, food and grounds are great! Esphanie in kids club was great too! Overall great experience! Sunwing flight was delayed without any explanation, the entire flight was an upsell of Sunwing! Our flight was over night, they kept speaking over the PA waking my son.. was not happy. Flight attendants were nice just pushy for selling stuff.

This resort is very nice, however the room we received needed some refacing. Had a few issues with the room but got them dealt with! Staff need to improve their english so when we ask for soap, face cloth they know what we mean. Also need to allow all guests to able to reserve tables at all the restaurants. Also need to enforce no reserving chairs.

When we checked in, we were given a room on the second floor and facing the back. Although at the time of our booking we specifically asked for a pool view room. The room had an old rusty small fridge in a small desk. The bathroom had a broken toilet paper holder. Not what we were expecting in a five star resort. After complaining to the front desk we were told we could switch rooms in 2 days, which we did and the room was much better with a pool view. The resort itself was good; however on a number of occasions the fire alarm kept going off as we were having breakfast. It was very loud and annoying. A week into our stay there was a water leak in our closet with water running down the wall. On the last day we were having a lovely steak dinner and half way through there was a power outage so we left the restaurant! It was fair but we had expected a better experience.

Everything was excellent. Only neg comment is the restaurant Under The Sea was really bad. It was at the other resort location. We walked out the food was so bad. Everything else was outstanding. Thanks.

amazing resort. super clean and well cared for grounds. beach is beautiful and swimming pools are excellent. rooms were extremely clean and couldnt ask for better staff. they are just like family. i love this resort.

Resort and grounds are beautiful, clean and well maintained. The beach is amazing, soft sand, no rocks or coral when entering the crystal clear water. Staff were very friendly, great service all around. Our luxury room was great, cleaned and restocked daily with turndown service in the evening. Fresh bath towels and face cloths every day but only had hand towels twice during our week stay. Food was good, buffet was as good as the restaurants. No reservations required for restaurants (except for the Zen), so you may have to wait a bit for a table, they give you a pager and send you to the Martini bar. Drinks were great. Overall wonderful experience and would definitely return!

The resort was very clean, the food was good and most of the staff were great to deal with. The beach and pools are beautiful and all of the facilities are top notch. Personally didn't like the various class systems they have. ie. Royalton, Diamond club, Hideaway and Memories. They are trying to capture too broad a market. We felt bad for the Memories guests that were expected to walk down a pathway at Royalton to access the beach and not stop or use the facilities along the way. We heard complaints from a few of them. The Hideaway area didn't gel with the theme of a family resort. An 18+ resort should be a separate resort. Perhaps a quiet/adult only pool area would make more sense. We were going to upgrade to the Diamond club but were told it had been oversold and wasn't worth the extra money unless we planned on drinking an extreme amount of high end alcohol. Didn't like having only the one draft beer choice. Would like more options including some canned/bottled beer options. The other tropical types of drinks (pina coladas, daiquiris etc.) were from concentrate and not very good quality. Straight mixed drinks were a better choice. We have 3 children and they enjoyed the splash park at Memories. We also visited the Royalton Bavaro located down the beach. It is brand new and even nicer than the Royalton PC. The kids loved the lazy river and surfing machine. We would stay there next time but would also stay back to RPC if Bavaro not available.

this is our third time at this resort. a kids friendly place with decent food. The waterpark at Memories is just great to keep the kids entertained and the pool has nice activities. Rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Diamond Club is recommended if you like to spend time at the beach as it has better sitting options and better quality drink choices. For pool only no need for Diamond club as it shares it with the rest of the resort.

Great resort. Treated well by everyone. Clean, fun, easy to navigate, good food selection. Shows each night with an outdoor entertainment option. Something fro everyone of every age at the Royalton. Enjoyed ourselves greatly. Thank you Julie for your hard work and patience!

I had an amazing time at the Royalton Punta Cana Resort. My daughter & I went for 4 days. The resort is amazing, we were in the Diamond Club which is really worth getting if you can. Our Butler Victor was the best, staff in dining, bars, grounds all very friendly & helpful, this is a happy resort. I love this resort. Going back with my husband in May for 10 days

I loved the size of the resort. Easy to get around never missed anything. Wasn't fussy for any of the restaurants. Buffet was very good all the time. Service was very good no problems. Room was average no nicer then a med rate hotel. Bathroom was very dated and tired. No bathtub. Minimum clothes storage.

Beautiful small resort, food ok, beautiful beach. Hideaway adult only worth it. Clean, good service, great intertainment. Saona trip Is fun however the advertised starfish holding is no longer permitted. All and all great experience.

We upgraded to Diamond Club. I can't say that the room was much better than the Luxury Standard Room but the location and view was better. We didn't use the butler service because we were travelling with a group and it was much easier to plan and make our own reservations, etc. All the other services they offered could have been gotten by just calling the front desk. Beach was beautiful and better than other resorts that we have been at. Food was very good. Japanese steakhouse was excellent! The others we tried were very good also but every time we planned on going to a specialty restaurant, it seemed to be closed for the night. Our bad because we didn't check the schedule and I guess there is a restaurant closed every night. We just always picked the wrong one. The reason I would not return to this resort is because of the vendors! We hadn't even been to our rooms on check-in, we still had our travelling clothes and carry on bags with us and we were approached by vendors giving us "free" gifts. They were very aggressive and practically physically brought us to their tables to have a look. After that initial encounter, we avoided the area entirely. I like to browse but in peace without someone trying to "force" a sale. I think the resort should regulate the vendors they choose to let on the premises. I would have bought more from them if I was just left alone to browse!

Wonderful entertainment, service and food choices. Best we have had! But Nosey rooms, rooms echo, wooden doors slam, stay away from stair case rooms. Sunwing excursion good to Saona island, but long bus ride picking up from other hotels (2 hours one way and told 40 mins). We were not given the $100 spa credit promised when booked.

We loved the Royalton everything was great the food, entertainment, beach and pools and the people so friendly! Foam party was a blast! The restaurants were very good, lots to do! Comfy hotel rooms! Would go there again loved it!

My daughter and I stayed at the Royalton Punta Cana last week (September) and loved it. The grounds are kept immaculate, customer service was exceptional, rooms are spacious, food was delicious, layout of the resort is well thought out keeping all amenities convenient. The only thing I was not impressed with was the spa reception... there could be some training done here to ensure guest satisfaction.

Royalton Punta Cana was an amazing resort with manicured gardens and beautiful water features and stonework everywhere you looked. The staff are very friendly and accommodating.. many went out of their way to teach my three sons Spanish and encouraged them to speak 😊. The main buffet had anything you could ever desire to eat at each meal-we actually preferred this to the restaurants (they were good but limited selection). Food Service was well organized and well supervised. Service in the restaurants seemed better if you ordered the bottle of wine (charge above the all inclusive). We were forgotten once when my husband ordered only a glass of the house wine. Rooms were clean but bathrooms were small. Housekeeping needed prompting to clean the rooms in a timely fashion - we would return to our rooms late in the afternoon to find them still not cleaned. Restocking was spotty - we had to often ask the maid for what we needed, which was a trick at times if they didn't speak English. There was alot of push to attend "breakfast" which apparently was a 90 minute time share presentation. Very difficult to get $1 US bills for tipping. The best they could do was $5 bills. Stores never could do it despite a lot of shoppers and the currency exchange said they didn't have American money! This made us feel we were expected to leave $5 tips each time and quite manipulated. Fortunately this was interspersed with some genuine individuals who didn't ask for anything and seemed to really enjoy their interaction with us! One server saw my husband's Canada shirt and proclaimed it "Punta Canada" ! 😊

This resort is very clean and the beaches are the best we've ever seen. They are serviced daily to remove seaweed and coral/rocks so it is easy and safe to access the ocean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One week is almost not long enough to enjoy everything there is to offer.

We stayed here during March break, we travel every year during this time. We really enjoyed the Royalton and the waterpark at Memories. The resort was very clean, the rooms were nice. The beach is gorgeous! Lots of chairs and shade. The food is very good at the buffets and most of the dine around restaurants, the Japanese and the steakhouse were excellent. The sports bar has amazing burgers. The one complaint I have was the front desk staff and check-in. When we checked in they told us the hotel was sold out and overbooked and that we would have to go to Memories for a few nights. Really??!! How do you overbook a hotel where people are arriving on airplanes with reservations? If I wanted to stay at Memories I would have paid the significantly less money it cost to go there! I paid for the Royalton. We had to go to Memories for 1 night and for this trouble they upgraded us to Diamond Club at the Royalton. I have been travelling for 25 years to the Caribbean and never had that happen before. By talking to other guests during the week we found out they did this to many others.

Here for a wedding. Wonderful location, great beach, clean room, friendly & helpful staff. Restaurants were amazing, especially the Japanese Restaurant. Too bad the Michael Jackson tribute was only on the Saturday night when we arrived...only got to see the last few minutes of the show. Special shout out for Luis Enrique Cabrera - beach location. Had our lounges ready & waiting for us after breakfast. He was very courteous & helpful....even bringing us fresh towels if ours were too wet. With 41 guests in our celebration .....he was a pleasure to have around.

Resort was great, food was amazing, the buffet for lunch and dinner was surprisingly good. Pool and Beach were very nice. Only complaint was that it was frustrating trying to get a crib and milk for our 1 year old.

Food was delicious. Got married here and tge onsite coordinator Yenifer was amazing, my wedding day was absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. Had a group of 40 friends and family travel with me, and they all loved the resort. Great for kids, singles and families. I would visit this resort again in a heart beat.

We enjoyed all of the facilities at the resort. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The wedding was lovely and well organized. The beach party was one of my favourites. The beach was well looked after. We enjoyed the food. Our favourite was the Japanese restaurant.

Thought the hotel itself and grounds were great. Was not happy with staff regarding lost/stolen items. Also, the rooms were never stocked with wash cloths or hand towels and nothing extra done with tips. Concierge pushing (basically) time shares was a big turn off. Upset that the check in staff failed to mention that there were no elevators in the buildings where you stay, and placed us (with two children 3 and under) on the third floor.

This hotel is very beautiful, and is definitely a 5 star. Accommodations were amazing, in the diamond club swim up rooms Food was pretty good for the most part. Beach was fabulous.. Our kids..7 and 10 loved the big waves. Not so good for babies Butler Daniel was amazing and always around Swim up room number 1431 was the closest to the beach...very amazing Could hear waves at night No theft all. Wendy our cleaning women was perfect

We just returned from the Royalton Punta Cana and had a reasonable stay. Unfortunately, we were caught up in a tropical storm and got 5 days of rain. We had previously stayed at the Majestic Elegance and found it to be far superior to the Royalton. While things were for the most part adequate, we found both the food and the service was just ok. The beach front is very small and crowded as it services both the Royalton and its sister property Memories which is situated behind it. While the resort boasts 10/11 restaurants (6 of which are at the Memories property) we heard the food was terrible at the sister location, so we stayed away. The sister property looks run down and we heard a lot of people complaining about it. The steak house at the Royalton was supposed to be the best, but it didn't take reservations which made it impossible to get into. Apparently, you need to line up at 6 pm and plead to get in. It seems that it takes guests from its higher end diamond club members, and the rest of the resort is left to vie for the few tables that are left. After numerous requests and lining up at 5:30, we finally made it in...but the meal was not worth all of our effort. The entertainment that is brought in from outside the resort was very good. Daytime activities are spread between both properties and we never really knew what was happening where. Considering that it rained all week, there was no real effort at activities to keep kids ( or even adults) busy. We never got to use the kids or the teens club as they were flooded due to the storm. Effort to entertain the guests during the storm would have been nice, instead we wandered the lobby and retail area. Finally, we found the push from the "vacation package" salespersons very annoying...it's not quite time share but a new concept of buying vacation packages for the next 15 years. They seemed to be around at every turn. I found the common areas of the resort to be very poorly lit...everything from the dining rooms, hallways and especially the lobby were all very dark. The grounds are nice and rooms are small but clean and tastefully decorated. I would rate this a 4 rather than a 4 plus...for future stays I'd rather return to the Majestic Elegance. This hotel is modern with lots of amenities and a nice small size resort so it's quick to get around. We loves having access to the water park just a quick 5 min walk and the beach is one of the nicest we've been to. The food at the buffet was great. It's a nice place to relax.

It was ok nothing to brag about the food was 7 out of 10 grounds were clean I found there were to many hands out looking for tips then there were the peddlers very pushy and rude had to tee them to back off wasn't happy

Nice Beach, great food and excellent service. Top notch in most ways. Complaints would be time share sales reps posing as concierges at the bottom of the stairs in the hotel buildings, bathrooms small (especially as the rooms are quite large) and low quality all-inclusive wines.

We had an amazing time, the food was top notch and highly recommend the Hunter steak house. The pools were great and the beach was beautiful. We enjoyed going to memories to the waterpark, we all had a blast. The hotel was beautiful and the whole resort was very clean. My only complaint was the beach was a bit crowded and did not enjoy getting harassed everyday in our hotel to buy their time share. Overall would go back in a heartbeat.

The resort was just beautiful, more in the modern side. What impressed us the most is how clean the resort was ,there is a lot of glass at this resort and we always saw someone cleaning. We got exactly what we had asked for ocean view room ( partial) it's just the way the resort is setup. The room was large and well appointed again alway clean. The only thing there were no elevators so if you have difficulty climbing stairs ask for a ground level room. The beach was gorgeous but a little crowded for the diamond club guests,I think guests came out in the middle if the night to reserve the beds. The food was really good, the marche had everything a person could want, any kind of steak to almost any kind of fish...cooked in front of you. The cheese selection was outstanding. Ever night there was entertainment either outside or in the theatre...very good.the only thing that we could not get used to was people smoking every where I wished they had a designated area for smokers!!

Last year we went to this resort and were treated to amazing food, wine and service. Although the resort is still nice, the quality has slipped. The house wine went from good to undrinkable. The service went from amazing across the board to mostly average and in a few cases terrible. The steakhouse is still great but the seafood restaurant was terrible, they had more meat on the menu than fish and the service was brutal. The tapas restaurant is now gone and the Mediterranean was awful. The resort is beautiful and the beaches are great but at that price I am not sure I would recommend it. I know we won't be going back.

The beach was fabulous. Room was ok. Food was ok good for kids but I really expected more for adults. The service level just wasn't there. Was difficult to get money broken for smaller bills and everywhere you went it was a sales pitch to get what u would expect for the price of the resort. Vacation was fun but just not the value for the money.

Stay at Royalton for a week Jan 1 -8 and I can honestly say this is no 5 Star resort. The service is poor and when you do find someone to get you a drink they are miserable. We paid extra for the concierge/butler service and that was a complete joke. Make sure you wake up at 6am to get a chair that the beach or else forget it.... The Diamond Club is tiny . I have stayed at many resorts in DR and this one was the worst by far. Not to mention being harassed by time share reps everyday on our stay. Try Hard Rock or Paradisus instead.

Well maintained hotel, rooms were airy and clean, food was great, beach superb and the pools good. Room beverage fridge could have been stocked more efficiently but it worked out. I would definitely consider this hotel again.

I loved the resort layout! loved the room and bed, Very comfortable. Food was great however the small buffet was just ok. Service was amazing, the staff was very friendly. The pool was fantastic. The ocean was very nice however if you walked 5 minutes to the right it was much better. The hotel was very clean.

Rooms, Food& Drink, Grounds, pool& Beach were all great. The service was excellent. Free Wi-Fi everywhere on the resort. Free calls home to Canada & USA from the room... The steakhouse was the best restaurant by far.

Hotel looked fabulous however the climate a bit too hot to enjoy. They could have had more shaded walking areas to and from amenities. I got what can be described as a stabbing or burning pain in the gut area and around the back that lasted for 3 days. It may have been food poisining.

The resort was beautiful and clean, the food was amazing, the rooms were well appointed and the staff were friendly and helpful. Everything was in close proximity, so not a lot of walking required. Would definitely return!

The royalton resort was beautiful. Clean, minimal bugs, beautiful clean beaches. The grounds were maintained. The rooms were kept clean. No issues with any staff members. Everyone was friendly. Good family resort.

Beautiful resort! We were there for my daughter's wedding. The grounds and the food and the staff were wonderful! Only complaint was there was consistently a shortage of towels, both in the room and at the pool.

This hotel was more than we could have hoped for ! The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The service was impeccable. Rooms are very clean and bed super comfy! Definitely will be returning !! :)

Overall this was an amazing resort. Everything was nearly perfect. The food selection and quality was superb. The service was five star with incredibly pleasant staff. The grounds were upkept beautifully and the pools were great.

The resort was renovated approximately 1.5 years ago. Looks modern and stylish. The accommodation, food, service, the beach and atmosphere was great! Had an amazing time! We would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

This is a must resort to stay at. Everything is fantastic.The food ,the room, the service, the staff. THe beach is beautiful.. Wide, white sand and it goes for miles in either direction. Drink and food service at the beach. Stay in a Diamond Club room.

Had a wonderful time. Food excellent. Rooms cleaned immaculately twice a day. Saw 2 shows that were really fun too. Best resort I've been to so far. Want to thank Yessenia, Berenise and Elvera at the playa bar for their Excellent service and making us feel at home. They made us laugh everyday and made our 9 year old daughter feel very special. Took the banana boat ride twice too. The guys who arrange the water sports were really great and I felt safe with the activities. Took dance lessons twice and water aerobics. The guys who do the activities are wonderful. I highly recommend and am considering going back which is something we've never done at other resorts. Beautiful resort - lots to do and variety of restaurants to select from. Kids waterpark was great as well. Staff are friendly and go over and above to ensure a great vacation experience! Entertainment was great as well - don't miss the Michael Jackson show on Saturday night!

Great location, nice clean long beach, food was very good which was a concern of ours as our children are picky eaters. The waterpark is an added bonus that the kids liked which made it an overall excellent family vacation.

My family of 5 travelled to The Royalton Punta Cana from Feb 21st-28th. We travelled with Sunwing airlines which was just okay. We had some delays in leaving related to weather conditions and de-icing. On the way home, we decide to stay at the resort longer and cab to the airport instead of taking the provided transportation. Unfortunately, our flight home was delayed 1.5hrs and we were not updated on this until we had been waiting at the airport for a while. Despite this minor setback, we had a FABULOS family vacation. We chose to purchase the DIAMOND CLUB package, which proved to be the only major disappointment of the trip. We were told we would be treated to premium booze but every time we would ask they either didn’t have it or were out. In addition, we are not really ocean people and did not spend much time on the beach; however, this resort has an exception beach (beautiful sands and clean clear ocean water). The beach service appeared to be the only real benefit of the package. We travelled with another family who did not purchase the DIAMOND CLUB package and they received equal service as we did. They were able to get into each restaurant without needing reservations and had access to all of the amenities we did minus the Diamond Club lounge (which provided nothing but mini appetizers aka mini cupcakes or a piece of shrimp in a cup). They also did not have a butler, but that also proved to be a disappointment as our butler was very hard to track down and provided very slow service—he often forgot things. If we were to go back, we definitely would not make this purchase again. On a positive note, the resort was beautiful and we could not have asked for better weather. We were located in a central building (6) and found the rooms were beautiful and updated. There was a slight lack in storage space but other than that they were more than accommodating. The concierge in our building was exceptional, his name was Francis and he went above and beyond to help us and make sure we were always satisfied. Francis definitely helped make the trip enjoyable and relaxing. We spent most of our time around the main pools. They were always warm which was nice. They appeared to be a central attraction during the days. Because of this and due to a lack of seating it was very difficult to get a spot around the pool. One day we got up at 7:00am to reserve chairs (as suggested) and even at this time it was difficult to find any. A big issue causing this is that people from the Memories resort come over to use Royalton’s pools and amenities even though they are not supposed to. There was no enforcement against this obvious issue which left many disgruntled. We also found this resort to be highly populated with young families with kids. This was not bothersome as we have a 9 year old but for our 21 and 19 year old may not have been as well suited. During the day there were several activates held during the days by the entertainment crew including yoga, Zumba, dance lessons and games. We have never participated in these activities on previous trips but thanks to Nemo, Francel and Cappacino was encourage to do so. The entertainment crew was energetic, enthusiastic and fun and kept our days busy. We were able to interact with them every day and they were friendly and always making us laugh. The Memories waterpark (which you have access to if you stay at Royalton) also helped keep us busy an entertained. The slides were thrilling and fun for all ages! In terms of the food, we were very satisfied. We were skeptical due to things we have heard in the past about the food in Dominican. Of the 5 members in my family and the 5 in the family we went with no one got sick during our trip. Our favourite 3 restaurants that we strongly recommend to anyone going to The Royalton would be 1. The Hunter Steak house 2. Zen 3. Grazie Tattoria. The buffet was also good, typical buffet for an all-inclusive vacation. Opa also offered a fantastic lunch for seafood lovers. The restaurant and bar staff were hit and miss—for the most part they were good. The bars often got congested and sometimes service and attention were difficult to receive. There was also a language barrier for us which caused some confusion and difficulty in ordering sometimes. The post dinner entertainment was fantastic! We have travelled to many places in the Caribbean and find that the entertainment can get repetitive and sometimes can be boring. This resort had some of the most captivating and memorable entertainment. They presented a range in entertainment including shows, live music, acrobatics and beach parties! Overall, this was one of the best vacations my family has been on. We would definitely choose to go back to this resort if the opportunity presents itself in the future. If you are contemplating visiting this resort, we recommend you visit and see all it has to offer!

Overall the hotel was great. Very disappointed spending the amount of money we did and was put in a room facing a green fence and hearing the workers driving and walking down the lane by the green fenced all the time day and night.

This was our 10 time to Punta Cana and I have to say this was up there with being the best resort yet. Rooms are beautiful modern and well looked after. We never had to ask for anything and the turndown service at night was a nice touch. Restaurants were all great. Really enjoyed the steakhouse, the Greek and the tapas. Great food service and presentation. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. There were plenty of pools to choose from. The Dips swim up pool was our favourite. The service was awesome. This is a nice resort to get around. Everything from the pools to the restaurants and the bars were all easy to access. All in all I would highly recommend this resort to anyone singles couples and families. Thanks to all the staff for a wonderful experience at the Royalton Punta Cana.

Very clean and well-run. When the safe in our room wasn't working, a manager accompanied the maid while she was cleaning our room to make sure nothing was amiss (and the safe was fixed quickly after). For a resort, the food was surprisingly good -- especially the steak restaurant. In terms of entertainment, the Michael Jackson impersonator was one of the best I've ever seen, and the beach party was super fun.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. It was our second visit & was just as great this time around. The food is excellent and service was wonderful. They have some wonderful swim out rooms and the water park at their sister resort next door is awesome.

My husband and I just returned from the Royalton in Punta Cana. We had the most amazing time. The resort was beautiful, the staff there were amazing and extremely friendly and helpful. The food was too notch. You couldn't get any better selection! Our room was super clean , modern and the beds were extremely comfortable! This resort is on the beach which was the best part of our trip. Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!! We couldn't have asked for anything better. This is a five star plus all the way. I big thank you to Stephanie at trip central for her recommendation!!!!!!!

Excellent room service - clean! Large rooms, newly renovated. Daniel: excellent private butler, thanks Daniel ! Diamond Club guest check-in: silly and really annoying. Got diarrea, met other people with same problem. Prime suspect: Japanese restaurant. Main buffet restaurant quite good, the other restaurants not that great (did not try the steak restaurant, though). Not much entertainment, but the circus show and magic show unexpectedly good! There is a disco, too.

Royalton, Punta Cana is one of the best resorts visited so far. Everything is close to be perfect. The management is great and the people working here are very friendly and assertive. I would recommend some improvements for Zen restaurant. Overall the drinks and the food were distinguished. The bar from lobby was great, thank you Adriana. The beach party came as a wonderful surprise being very entertaining. Many thanks to everybody working in this resort.

I liked the overall architectural design . The way the swimming pool and laguna are all connected and close to the beach created a climate of hospitality, coziness and spaciousness. Service was marvellous as well as food.

All the facilities and restaurants were in close proximity to each other which made it very convenient. The service was amazing! The staffs always had a big smile on their face and they just seemed very welcoming.

the resort was just lovely in every way.Every service was greatly thought out ,what resort can you go and not have to book ala cartes,free phone service to back home,free wifi through out the resort,great meals and wonderful service.Great place for seniors not too big you can walk to anything in 5 min.diamond club the best.

excellent, most staff offered exceptional service. A few minor things... spout on bathroom sink is too short > water splashing everywhere... shower doors do not close properly > water everywhere...... I don't hafta clean it up. Had face cloths for first 3 days, then none for the rest of our 7 day stay. Stayed late Sept. 2014. Hot and very humid!!!!!!! 33 and feels like 45. If there's now wind, yikes! Best vacation ever though.

We just got back from The Royalton and I can't wait to go back. The rooms were beautiful, the service was awesome and the food was fantastic. The pools were beautiful as was the beach. The kids enjoyed the waterpark and so did the adults. There were a lot of activities and Francis, Luis and Cappucino were fun, energetic and knew how to get you involved!! It was a great vacation!!

We visited the Royalton May 31-June 7th with our 20year old granddaughter. We love Punta Cana because of the beautiful beach. Resort was good, staff very friendly and helpful. No reservations required for dinners which is great. All the ala Carte were good as was the buffet. We visited the sister resort Memories Splash for the water park and their pools, we liked the pools at that resort better as it was not as crowded and quiet. We would recommend this resort as a great vacation place

This hotel is beautiful it's a small resort And nothing to do really the staff is soooo friendly the grounds r very well maintained beach is super clean real paradise yet not many people to enjoy our stay was very boring. May get better in the futur?

Great food, lots of choice. Amazing steak. Staff was very helpful. We had an infant with us and they set up the crib and always gave us extra bottled water when requested. When the beach was full, staff got guests extra chairs. Had fun at the attached resort, ate at the Mexican and visited the water park. Spa was very relaxing and nightly entertainment was better than most resorts. Only complaint was that the sun wing reps were not responsive or helpful. But that is no reflection on the resort.
