THIS TRIP WAS AMAZING! The workers were so friendly! Especially Jonathan! My kids went to the kid club, they said Patrica and the other ladies was so friendly, they did many crafts! The buffet food was so delicious! My son loved the fish fingers. The hotel we stayed at was so nice because the room service food was very delicious also the shower was very big which was nice, we also loved the air conditioning in the room. My son told me he loved playing water volleyball in the pool with the entertainment team. Overall, it was a absolute 10/10. None of this would ever happen. without the help of the best travel agent, Nephilene. we always book our family vacations through her and she always go above and beyond. She's just the best!

This was our second year in a row to this little gem of a resort &it did not disappoint,the whole resort is so easy to get around, not too big, amazing choices of restaurants, food amazing buffet restaurant , no reservations required except for Asian restaurant which is so worth it, buffet & so many restaurants to choice from, beverage service also amazing, the pools are clean, warm & the beach is just a stone throw away,so clean, clear no seafood. Grounds are so clean and all staff in every department go above & beyond for guests….we love this resort perfect for all ages…..perfect for kiddos to play in the sand

Although we've landed at this airport many times, this is the first time we actually stayed in the Cancun area. The weather was not great - cloudy and occasional showers all week, but the wind blew every day!! So much so that the ocean was off limits a couple of times. I could be wrong, but I believe the location of this resort contributes to the windy conditions. The beach is very narrow, and they've had to put sand bags down, probably to slow down the erosion. The beach is better just a short walk away to the next resort (or condo). The service was great. We appreciated the waiter service poolside, or to your lounge chair on the beach. This isn't offered at every resort. The restaurant staff is also very hard working and friendly. Appreciated the coffee bar in the lobby - this is also something we look for in a resort. Our room was .... okay. It needed repairs, and there was a sewage smell coming from the shower drain. We had a balcony, which was great, as not all rooms had one. The room was clean, and the maid service was done early. This resort doesn't hand out wrist bands, and doesn't issue towel cards. I think they should rethink the towel card policy, as people would just walk away from their lounge chairs without taking their towels with them. Then you didn't know if the chair was still 'taken' or not. However, the resort did have a gentleman who would monitor these things, and would gladly remove towels for you if he felt they were abandoned. There is shopping within walking distance, although prices are up, and bargains are hard to find anywhere. There were also beach vendors around ... not too many, and not aggressive. I also felt there was a little too much selling going on inside the hotel - either for excursions, for the spa, or for the Preferred Service (where you get to pay extra for exclusive areas on the beach, pool, etc.). I guess I had a different idea of what the 'Dreams' brand was, and overall came away disappointed.

Nice beach good pool good people too Beware of price gouging and fees not previously disclosed….table reservations for restaurants $150-$300 USD how is this an all inclusive resort?? Never again !! Also swimming with time share people that promise the world but never tell you it a time share scam until they have you off resort

Nice clean spacious lobby and nice bar, the room nice and clean everything functional well kept, food delicious everywhere and good selection . Waiters very attentive good hospitality thank you Georges manuel Ulisse and many more you were great and made our 40th wedding anniversary so much nice

Food was fresh and very good. Staff was very friendly. Ocean was so clear and calm. We found the beach a little small for the amount of people we were staying at ressort. Difficult time to book reservations for Jananese restaurant on the ressort's app which was very frustrating. Other restaurants didn''t need reservations which was good.

Rooms are clean, easy access to restaurants, pools and beach. The water is calm for Cancun even when it’s wavy, it doesn’t knock you over. Food was good. Hibachi was excellent. Staff is very helpful and friendly.

The hotel itself is good and the rooms are really nice. We had a great time in the plunge pool when we needed some quiet time. But the food in the resort was so bad. Even if they tried a little, it would be decent. It's like they just don't care at all. They know we have no other choice. The quality anf the taste is so bad. Each restaurant is worse than the other. We even picked this one coz it's supposed to be decent with the food. But no, it was terrible.

The beach was the highlight of the hotel , and people gravitate to the ocean . The soft white sand is prefect for walking and wading into the ocean for a float in the calm waters. The room we stayed in was a little dated but quite comfortable, the tub is very deep and caution needed to be used getting in and out ( not good for anyone with disabilities) I have heard the renovated rooms have walk in showers. The view from our room made up for everything…the turquoise ocean was breathtaking,especially at sunset . The food was always plentiful and something for everyone, lots of Mexican flavour for those that like to try something new, but also lots of Americana choices . The staff were so very friendly , professional and helpful ,at every restaurant they inquire about allergies , show you to the table , place the napkin on your lap and cater to your needs…even at the buffet. ( bring lots of tips ,they deserve it. ) The concierge staff were so very helpful and during our stay we encountered a couple of medical issues and they were so very helpful arranging appointments and following up to ensure we were taken care of. We would highly recommend this hotel when you are at the beach you forget you are right on the hotel strip and steps away from shopping when you walk out the front entrance. They do have a VIP program they try and get you to buy into ( timeshare program ) however that’s the norm in Mexico and we are used to avoiding those. We are used to staying at much larger hotels but we were not disappointed with the Dreams Sands Cancun .

We loved every minute. The resort was so clean. Bars were 9 well stocked bars and staff was so courteous. Beach was white sand and was raked daily Restaurants were all good. Especially the Italian we liked. The buffet was always plenty. The deserts were so good.it really is a beautiful place.

The beach was amazing,always kept clean. The staff were wonderful,very helpful. The rooms abit dated, but it was clean.The fridge had lots of pop,water and beer,was stocked daily. We were there over Christmas time,the decorations were beautiful,they also had a dinner on the beach Christmas eve,it was so nice,every kind of food,we were impressed.The staff worked a 1 1/2 days setting up. My only complaint was my husband and I both smoke and did not realize we would have to go out in front of the hotel to smoke. It was not the place to send the smokers as this was where buses ,taxi's, and people with children have to walk by.

Everything about this place was 5 stars. Amazing beach, amazing facilities, amazing food, amazing drinks and amazing service. Would recommend to anyone who wants the relaxing, luxurious Mexico experience, especially families and couples.

Dreams Sands was just wonderful. I loved our room facing the ocean, the pools and beach so close by. The buffet was the best we have ever eaten at in all our travels. I was using a cane and everyone was very helpful and kind to me. The service was also the best we've had, staff was so attentive and did their jobs so well. We are planning to come back next year! Staff was amazing, accommodating and very friendly. Food was good at most a la carte restaurants, buffet and lunch restaurant could be better. More variety and more local fresh produce! Flight was delayed and didn’t get to hotel until the day after we were suppose to. Rooms were clean, bed could have been more comfortable (other rooms had softer beds). Beach was FANTASTIC! Beautiful sand, easy entry and waves were calm. Entertainment was good. Absolutely hate the “preferred club” high pressure sales and promotes entitlement!

The description and reviews of this hotel are varied, based on subjective opinions. When we arrived, we were Preferred guests, we were to taken to the Preferred lounge and checked in. We were not informed of the resort amenities, restaurant locations, Preferred beach area etc. The food was probably the worst I have ever had at any all-inclusive resort in Mexico. We ate at the buffet for breakfast a few times, variety varied depending on what day you went, meaning if you are lucky there may be fresh crepes made and waffles and the next day...nothing. Forget about getting any bacon after 9:00, they just put out more deep fried potato hashbrowns. I have always enjoyed the baked goods in Mexico, everyday they were dry and hard. Dinners were even worse, we tried all of the ala carte restaurants, food very inconsistent, we were only able to finish one meal which was at El Patio. We went back the next night and the prawns were mushy, the steak was so tough you could not cut it. Drinks are very very watered down no matter where you went on the resort. The only place we actually had a decent drink was in the Preferred lounge made by Juan. We had to move rooms 3 times, first room was ocean view with balcony. Toilet would not flush, next night room was just okay, bathroom very very small. We finally had to pay for an upgrade to a Junior suite, which was okay except the toilet leaked of raw sewage. Turn down service was hit and miss. Room service food, stay away from. The beach itself is nice. Very disappointed with the whole experience. What I find very disappointing is the fact that we specifically asked the Trip Advisor agent, Victoria Guest for a review of the property. She gave it rave reviews. We in fact called her from the resort on our first day, she just brushed us off and told us to find a Sunwing Agent. There were none on the property the whole week we were there!!

The resort is one of the best on the strip in Cancun, in particular the beach. The food was excellent. We ate at both steak places, Mexico has perfected steak, the Hibachi, excellent and the Italian restaurant, also excellent. Service was very good as well. Staff was very friendly and made a point of getting to know you. Only issue, is rooms are not very sound proof

Really nice resort for parents with young kids. The water is calm and the beach is nice with no rocks. Great food and room service is available 24/7. All rooms are ocean front. A la carte restaurants do not require reservations and you can go to either one as many times as you want.

Went to this resort for my brothers Birthday celebration. The resort had a lot of families and couples. The beach was amazing clear blue water and white sand beach. The sports bar had redzone to watch football. The night club was never busy, not a lot of people went there. It is totally worth it to go premium club as you get access to the 8th floor premium club and better access to premium alcohol like crown royal at every bar you go to.

Always good to start with the positive, workers are very nice and the place is kept very clean. The rooms are very outdated and damp. We even had a balcony room with a great view of the ocean. The buffet is terrible with not many options but the restaurants are mostly great with lots of options. The steak one and Japanese one are the best. The evening entertainment is non existent and there are not many kids events or options. I wouldn’t recommend for a family to go unless you are going with a big group. This resort is nice for older people because it’s small and has very little entertainment.

hotel very old,grounds well kept very clean,Most dinning is very good,service is good also. Beach area is quite small for hotel size..not enough palaps for shade.people tend to leave towels on lounges but aren't using them so other guests can't find a open lounge.

I seriously applaud Dreams for this one, the hotel was a take over built either 63 or 65, can't remember for sure. Anyway that was only 5 years ago this summer. The footprint of this resort is small, but my word services offered do not suffer. There was only 2 things needed fixing, that's pretty good in my eyes. Food, there was stuff I wouldn't eat but there was also food that I loved. The staff, most are exemplary employees and you feel they really care that you enjoy, like family or good friends. Best wading and playing beach in Mexico. Please don't focus on the age spots on this gem focus on the best service staff in all of Mexico!! Love to the man, the myth,the legend, Armando Vega, we looked forward to the highlight of our day a nightcap and chat with Armando truly caring gentleman, the lady with the most beautiful smile, Mary Cruz and Christoper in the Preferred Club Lounge always friendly and helpful. Maria at the front desk in the lobby your smile, the way you look after multiple people at one time but each guest feels valued and looked after, thank you. Lastly I want to thank Lazaro at preferred beach for looking after us, no matter where we were. And two exemplary bell men, Gerardo and Raul truly sweet young men and super hard workers, not Armando Vega famous but on the way. You should definitely visit!! You know the Dreams Vacation can start and finish with alot of help from stellar employees like Social Media Professionals like Adrian I am pretty sure that my perfect vacation started with Adrian helping my brother Rob and his wife Elizabeth have a memorable 25th Anniversary stay. I am positive their stay was enhanced by Adrian's helping hand. As was my Momma and my stay was perfect with his help.. we got our bath tub, 2 beds and the most amazing oceanview ever!! The man is a magician with the perfect location of our room, my directionally challenged Momma didn't get lost once. Thank you very much Adrian, for all you do. So many to mention! This was our second time at Dreams Sands Cancun. We absolutly love it there ! The food is great, the water is so calm and amazing to swin in and the service is excellent. During my stay in Cancun, I got dehydrated and had to go to the hospital. The staff was amazing and very helpful during this nightmare. They made me feel comfortable and secure.

Everything about this place was top notch... great sandy beach... nice pools...very friendly and helpful staff.... nice rooms... great food.... marvelous nightly entertainment... an all around great time.....

Hotel is old but clean...it makes up with the excellent service, beautiful beach area, delicious amazing restaurants Staff is so friendly and attentive ....they made our stay a memorable one........

Everything's perfectttt--food, drinks, room, service and place. The only thing I would suggest is to have a later closing time on the swimming pools and they should something at night outdoors for the adults-- open swimminh pool/bars, music outdoor.

Dreams Sands has the best beach in all of Cancun...We have stayed at many different resorts all throughout Cancun & Mayan Riviera and nothing compares...And of course the service, food, facility is what we come to expect at AM Resorts,,,,excellent!!!!!!!!

What we liked- 1. the beach was beautiful with powdery sand, calm and inviting, the best beach in the whole area. 2. The hotel accommodations in the preferred section was clean, well maintained, had comfortable beds and lots of hangers and big enough lock box for your laptops. 3. A la cart restaurants - Wave and Sands was my favourite with tasty pop corn shrimps, claim chowder and surf and turf but small portions. Bordeaux was another great restaurant, loved the fish and the beef tenderloin dishes. 4. Great staff that goes out of there way to please you 5. Free Water bottles in the room and bars Didn’t like - 1. Buffet was low quality and not much variety. Overall the food was below par. The Mexican food was below my expectations. 2. You have to ask for higher brand of alcohol otherwise you get the lower grade (ie tequila). The Strawberry daiquiri drink was terrible made from some red syrup 3. Cocktails and drinks served in plastic cups Overall i would rate it 3.5 out of 5.

We traveled in a group of 4 and had an incredible time. All the amenities were as advertised and our stay was unforgettable. The staff was friendly and attentive. The beach is beautiful and CLEAN. Food was not only good but varied which meant all 7 days of our stay were different. The hotel has adventure planners on site which helped us a lot for our excursions. We would definitely recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Very enjoyable vacation. Clean rooms/hotel, friendly staff/most accommodating, great beach. Food was amazing as were there house wines. Will definitely be back. :) Gym was small, but had updated equipment.

my wife and i are active 60 year olds,we have travelled quite a bit, we have never enjoyed a resort as much as DREAM SANDS CANCUN, great staff ,everyone acknowledges you, most speak english and so much staff, food was terrific, comfortable beds, rooms extremely nice, cleaned daily, great ocean views,never had to wait once for dinners, good wines even the house wine was enjoyable, nice beach,in a bit of a bay, well protected from elements, will be returning with family for sure . The entertainment at this resort was fabulous, best ever. The only negative for us was the extremely small gym. Thanks to the staff at Dreams, world class to us.

This hotel was amazing! The food was awesome, the beach was beautiful, the rooms were very clean and the staff were so nice and friendly. I also visited the spa which was incredible. I was so sad to leave!

Hotel dated but very clean. Staff were extremely friendly and provided excellent customer service. Food was fantastic at buffet and the a l'Carte restaurants. Beach was gorgeous and right there soon as you walked out of the hotel. Swam in the ocean everyday. Enjoyed yoga daily and water aerobics. the staff and service were great at the dreams sands resort and the food was terrific but we didn't get the room we requested the first night and had to spend a good part of the next day getting that fixed and the room we were moved to was quite dated and this seemed to be so with most of the rooms ,maid service was slow and most times something was forgotten and we had to call to have it made right,all in all it is a pretty good hotel not a four and a half star like advertised but the location is good and the beach and swimming were fantastic ,we would go back if the price was right as we have stayed at more modern places for around the same amount of money.

This was a great resort! Compact yet has everything you need- clean and updated rooms and facilities, extremely hardworking and friendly staff, delicious food and drinks with lots of variety, beautiful beach with clear, warm, and calm water. Had a great time and would recommend to others!

Great resort! Incredible staff, good food, very clean, really good entertainment, and great beach! Everything was wonderful! The only downside was the shower in our room - needs an upgrade. Well worth the money. Would definitely recommend this resort.

Overall OK. But you might want to consider the following: AC unit was not working properly, and very noisy. Room finishing was very poor (light bulb missing in one of the lamps next to night stand, bathroom calking peeling off). An event was thrown with very loud music, until midnight, so if you have young kids, you might want to think twice before booking. As for the food, quality was great. However I felt they were poor on their “seafood” menu.

I have stayed at a Dreams Resort previously Punta Cana and this resort surpassed my expectations! Beautiful resort, great restaurants and wonderful staff. The beach is beautiful, great place to kayak and be in the water.

From the moment we walked into the lobby to the morning we left to return home the experience at this resort was top notch. The service was impecible, the staff friendly and very helpful. The food was absolutely delicious with lots of variety. Any other time I would be sick of the buffet by the third day but they had endless options. I ate at the Italian and the Asian restaurants and the food was amazing. We had a room on the 6th floor with an ocean view and balcony. Highly recommend having a balcony the views were to die for. The evening entertainment was great and the drinks were delicious. Lobby bar makes the best mojitos. The ocean was warm and shallow. The beach its self was decent. We never had too much of an issue getting a chair. I will definitely be back to Cancun and highly recommend this resort!

The staff were great and provided excellent service. The quality of the food was very good, especially at the a la carte restaurants. The hotel is an old property that has been upgraded. The beds were excellent. We prefer firm beds and slept well the entire week. The bathroom was too small and had issues, sink and tub leaked. Our air conditioning unit leaked down the wall and onto the floor and ruined the plaster on the wall. We had to call to get the AC fixed twice during our week stay. They did fix it fairly quickly and repaired the wall damage. The beach is eroded and very small. If you walk to the left of the resort you can walk on a nice long Beach. The beach in front of the hotel smelled like sewage and rotten seaweed. This is a solid 4 star property that is trying. For the price, it is a decent place for a vacation. However, we would not return.

My sister and I had a FANTASTIC week at Dreams Sands. The resort was amazing from the moment we walked through the door. The resort property is beautiful and very well taken care of and the staff were superb. The catamaran trip with Jonathan was a highlight as was the kayak tour. The food was amazing too -Porto Fino was a highlight -thanks Josée! The entertainment was great too with the very talented fire works dancers and the Cancun tenors being a particular highlight. We would definitely recommend Dreams Sands!

From the moment we walked through the front doors, we were treated like a King and Queen. We were absolutely in awe of how beautiful and clean the resort was. The restaurants were amazing and the food 5 star!!! The staff works tirelessly to keep this resort in tip top shape and also to ensure that your needs are always met. We were blown away at how friendly and hard working they were. They are the biggest reason why we will be back!

this resort was all that we were wishing for, the staff was great, the view was wonderful, the food and drinks all were just great , the beach at this resort was so calm and wonderful compared to ones close by

PROS: Beautiful room, lobby and beach water. Nice views from everywhere. CONS: Very rowdy, noisy and busy place. There is no quiet place on this resort. Loud music all day long no matter where you sit!!! A lot of kids and teenagers!!! If you are looking for R and R - Avoid this place!!!!!!
