To start with the $125.00 cdn for the environmental fee, ridiculous. The fact they only give you a couple bottles of water and coke in your mini fridge the first day and then you have to pay if you want anymore. Buffet breakfast is terrible, burnt to a crisp bacon everyday. No entertainment at all unless you eat at Mexican restaurant then you can hear a Miriachi band. Not worth the money, would never go back

Staying at this resort was nice. Even though 1.30 hr. from airport , we were pleased to observe cleanliness , appreciate the diversity of pools designed and grounds respecting local nature, personnel was accommodating. Restaurants and food well maintained, food not as diverse, sweets do need more improvement ,as well as drinks from bars.

I recommend the hotel for its beach and restaurants. I would not recommend the Italian restaurant but all others were fantastic. The grounds were very well kept and while some guests valued the regular visits from the local raccoons and coatis in some outdoor dining areas I was not a fan. Staff were very helpful and the day manager Anna was wonderful, helping to arrange something special for my wife and I on our anniversary. I would go back again.

Honestly loved our stay. Was truly amazing. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was amazing, beach was nice pool was nice food was great. Only bad thing i could say was the lack of pool/beach chairs. Could normally find some but two days ended up without but not too big of a deal. Bars opening at 11 seemed a bit late but also not a big problem. Overall loved it, I know it has mixed reviews but I truly don’t have much bad to say at all. Would highly recommend.

Overall, we had a great stay. After reading the reviews, I understand what people mean with their bad experiences. I am not a very picky person, so I take all reviews with a grain of salt. What is bad for some people, isn't necessarily bad for everyone. That being said, we ended up getting an updated room. One side of the resort is updated, while the other isn't. So that was where a lot of complaints came from. Honestly, my only real complaint was that the staff weren't overly friendly. Yes, there were some who were absolutely wonderful (mostly at the lobby and coffee bars). But overall, the staff weren't very pleasant. It always seemed like we were bothering the front desk staff - pack your patience. And the rest of the staff barely cared to say hello back to us. The food was good. Nothing spectacular, but average, lots of variety, and we didn't starve. The restaurants were good! The Italian was my favourite ?. The beach was okay. We are used to the beautiful beaches in Cuba, so this was VERY different. And the sargassum came in earlier than usual, which didn't help. Water shoes are a must if you want to go in the water! This was also a pretty quiet resort. Not a lot going on. There were a few daily activities by the pool and some evening entertainment, but nothing over the top. Some tips - if you can bring smaller Mexican pesos ($20 & $50's) for tipping great. But they were only able to exchange some for us once. They say they prefer pesos, but the front desk only have change for US $1. Also, this resort is about a 2 hour bus ride from the airport. Thank you for having us.

Resort grounds are well kept. Lots of places to walk amongst the trees/greenery away from the beach. Resort seem to have way too many guest levels: blue wrist band, black wrist band and clear wrist band. As expected, the color of the band will determine what you have access to. Seems like blue band are the lowest. Plus areas exclusive for Sens, Sian Khan and other... There is no Bacardi rum of any color at any of the bars I visited. That should give you and indication of what to expect. If your taste is preferential towards top shelf alcohol then explore other resorts within the same price range. Food is a hit and miss. Line-up is everywhere at opening hours for all the restaurants. Beach is very narrow and loaded with sea weeds. They are not removed. Water is o.k. Some rocks here and there. Snorkeling is great. If you are Canadian, a $91 US is payable for a 7 night stay. Watch out...you can only pay it in US dollars or Mexican pesos...What utter B.S. I will not go back.

We recently stayed at the Grand Oasis Riviera resort. We had a fabulous week stay. We loved how clean and friendly staff were. The food was very good and lots of options to enjoy. We particularly loved how quiet the resort was. Always somewhere to sit and enjoy a beverage. Our room was on the first floor and our building was very close to the main pool. However just outside the patio doors of our room was a 3.5 foot deep pool and lounge chairs. So most of our time was spent here reading and enjoying the sunshine. We took advantage of the sports bar cafe and enjoyed coffee and snacks from here each day. We have stayed in other resorts in Mexico and found this resort to be by far our favorite. We would definitely stay here again.

I did not enjoy my stay. I was charged $2000. In addition to the 3000. I was initially charged for Cuba. I changed because of the Cuba crisis I hoped this resort would be worth $5000. But it was not. The room had air conditioning issues and an actually flooded. We could never get a chair on the beach because people kept putting towels and personal belongings on them during the night and then not actually using the chairs until late afternoon. We told the staff and they said they would remove the towels but didn’t. We were also told we couldn’t be at some of the pools or restaurants but we paid $5000.00!!!! Never booking a grand oasis again and telling all of our friends

First of all we want to thank Beth for all her help with booking our group of 10, she was absolutely amazing!! The Resort was super quiet but nice if you were looking for a relaxing getaway, which we were. We got to stay in the new building furthest from the beach but the rooms were WOW! We had a pool directly off our bottom floor Terrance with our own Sun beds and 4 layout chairs. We had a few issues with the rooms but very quickly fixed up, but we were the first ones staying here. Super clean, had our own private pool and a full bar which was nice considering we were the farthest from buffet and main pool, but we didn't use the main pool once. All the staff were amazing, some had a bit of a language barrier but very quick to get out google translator and we were good to go! Beach had a lot of coral which wasn't the best for swimming but the guys loved the snorkeling they did. Also a lot of moss on beach. The food and drinks were both top notch, we went to Italian and Mexican restaurants and both were very good. Mike's Coffee bar had amazing iced coffees too We didn't book adult only but we felt as though we did, our pool was perfect and having a bar and pool directly outside your room was a bonus. Our room numbers were 1116, 1117, & 1118 then we had one couple on second floor and one on third, same building. If you go for beach, I would choose a different resort but if you just want to relax at the pool ask for the first building.

Out on our patio was our own personal cabana and a pool we shared with 4 other rooms. Outsode of that was the pool for the building and the bar with bartender from the hours of 10 - 6. It was about a 7 minute walk to get to the restaurants. However for us that was just walking off all the food we over ate. Paths were well lit with lots of fountains. There is a cart that can be called to pick you up if you prefer that. The restaurants had delicious and well prepared foods in both Mexican tradition and European tastes. If you can't find something you like there is always salads, fruit, parfaits, and fresh bread and rolls. The store at the hotel is well stocked with the things we tend to forget about when you are packing. The staff was happy to help, they know customer service. If you need a pick me up stop by the coffee shop. They serve an amazing variety. Try to taste them all. You will also find football and pool tables to keep you entertained The main pool has the kids zone and the taco bar. Dont leave your food unattended the Coati like to steal food if you are not careful. The beach you should be prepared for. There is a lot of reef and rocks to walk around. Take your swim shoes. The staff warned us about urchins as well. Once you get out into that warm and beautiful water you will see all types of aquatic life. Take a snorkel. It is an amazing sight. One we are happy we experienced. Our main downfall other then coming home was not being able to find the sunwing/nexus representative. The hotel has blended the sens and the oasis into one and there are 2 lobbies. We found out the day before we left that the representative is not allowed past the gate and is using a part of the building where u get dropped off at. That is a lobby as well. Our concern was if the representative was needed we couldn't find them. Even the employees at the hotel would not inform you where he/she was. The airport was chaos when we landed but the departure was much better organized. The drive from Cancun is long, be prepared. Overall we loved our stay. To us it was 5 star.

The hotel has very goofy offerings and does not allow the Nexus representatives to be onsite. Carlos from Nexus works out of the welcome Center at the gate. The register ladies do not speak very good English and speak way to fast for proper understanding of hotel information. The hotel food was very good but certain all inclusive offerings are really limited

The hotel was beautiful..our room was huge..and cleaned perfectly every day. The food was excellent. However the beach was terrible .all coral and rocks. You absolutely need water shoes. Quite a steep entrance to the ocean, I fell every time getting in, and out. But the snorkeling is fabulous! The hotel has a very poor departure system . You need to sign out by 12 noon. You are told if you don't get to the buffet by 12:30, you will not get any food til your bus leaves. Mine left at 6:10. So no food unless, I paid for a late checkout..$45. US til 2:00 pm or $65 US. Til 6:00 PM. STRICTLY a money grab. I will not be back to this hotel again!!

The hotel was nice.They are still renovating and most of the renos are on the adults only side. The hotel is small so there is not a lot of walking. The service in general was great. The food was ok. There was always something we liked. They did have chicken nuggets at the buffet for lunch and breakfast. There is also a little restaurant by the pool area which had a little buffet (fajitas, pizza, fruit and veggies) and the burgers, hot dogs and french fries. The coffee bar is great. The beach is not as long as the pictures-the one side is rocky so not a lot of people swimming on that side. There is definitely not enough beach chairs for the non adult side -by 9am. They did have a little show most of the nights-but we never went so I can’t comment on that.

The resort was beautiful, small and easy excess to all activities. Rooms were beautiful spacious and well kept. The coffee shop was amazing and the hard working staff friendly! The activity staff were the best! Would like to make a shoutout to Andrea, Gabrielle, Cindy and Tony who made our beach days fun! The beach was very rocky and hard to get into the water. The negative :is not having a Sunwing Rep at the hotel for any concerns. Was frustrated about check out I have never been to a resort that check out is at 12 bracelets cut and told we can no longer use the facilities for buffet and bar. Our pick up time to leave the hotel was 6:10 at night and to be told that we can no longer use eat or drink was disappointing! Usually they cut bracket but your checkout ticket allows you to use all facilities to you leave!

The rooms and resort are beautiful. If you want nightly entertainment this is not the.resort for you! The mini bar does not get restocked at all with pop or beer. They are short on daytime entertainment staff and those staff members are amazing keeping guests engaged.

The resort itself is decent. Grounds are kept and neat. Exterior maintenance on the buildings you stay in is lacking. (Orange buildings) Broken screens, broken roof tiles, stucco broken, balcony rail broken. Needs a lot of work. Interior is ok at best. Buffet, coffee shop and seafood restaurant are all good. Stay away from the Italian restaurant. Website says there are tennis courts but there aren't any. Beach is small but thr snorkeling is good. There is a reef about 100m out which shelters swimmers so much safer than open ocean.

The grounds & rooms are beautiful. Loved no reservations required for Ala carte restaurants. I was shocked to find that i had to pay resort environmental fee of $126 USD when I checked it. I was dissatisfied that they do not restock your mini fridge with pop & beer (only stocked for arrival day) after that they only restock water! I was disappointed with the entertainment as it was sorely lacking at the resort. While at the resort pools are freezing cold very uncomfortable & 1 pool had steps that were very slippery which i avoided as 2 people slipped and hurt themselves.

The staff were not very friendly. I would usually get wine with dinner, but wouldn't relieve it until after dinner Supposed to be all inclusive, but the housekeeping wanted to charge me to fill up my mini bar. The beach was very tiny, and we had a Karen on the beach. She yelled at people that she owned her room on the beach and no one was allowed near her. She yelled at me for smoking and was an annoying nag. The bars didn't open until 11 am and closed at 7. No food available at night time after dinner, only muffins or cookies. The lifeguard was more interested in his phone then keeping an eye on guests, he also liked to pick his nose while sitting there. Lifeguard also blew his nose and spit in the shower outside that you use to wash off sand. A waitress blew her nose in a napkin, and then polished a cup with the used napkin. Also didn't even wash her hands. Very disgusted with this place. I feel like I lost my money and I really didn't want to stay the seven days I couldn't wait to get home. Dont waste your money here.

The room was disgusting. Plain whitish plaster walls with no decoration. Balcony was filthy and there are broken roof tiles all over. Third floor with no elevators so three flights of stone stairs to climb. As we are both seniors not very comfortable. Tried to complain to management to get a decent room but no help. We were told to meet with the Sunwing rep in the lobby the day after arrival but no rep was there and the front desk said they never see a rep. We were also not told that there were three levels of guests and we were the lowest so we were not allowed to use certain restaurants and pools. This is by far the worst resort we have ever stayed at in the five times we have visited Mexico. We will never use Sunwing again and this awful place should be removed from your brochures. I have never needed to complain before but this was a vacation from hell. I have photos depicting the run down accomodations

Awesome resort! We had a fantastic time at this resort! From the minute we arrived until we left, we were treated with much regard, kindness and helpfulness by all the staff there. Shout out to Evelyn (I'm bad with names, but I'm pretty sure that's her name) at the reception desk - so helpful and pleasant, as were all of the reception staff! Loved being served every day by Juan at the beach bar - check out the mango margarita - delicious! The restaurants were fantastic! Mv only complaint was I didn't discover the Japanese restaurant until the last night - amazing! All of the wait staff were attentive, polite and hard working. Shout out to Victor and to Rose at the restaurant reception desk. No reservations required for these restaurants and very little to no wait times to get in the a la carte. The buffet was also very good morning, noon and night. Don't forget to tip these amazing hard working people. The beach was beautiful every day - the last 2 days lots of seaweed came in - it was too overwhelming for the maintenance staff to deal with. The public washrooms were always clean - which I am sure is quite the fear given the amount of people in and out of them all day! We loved our room - so spacious and roomy! The swim up pool at the foot of our patio was the icing on the cake! Will return next year❤️❤️

Our check in was a little disturbing ...when we found out our room was on the 3 floor with 25 steps up.. We were shocked..this hotel does not have elevators..My travel partner freaked when she realized it and directly when to the Lobby to explain .. She is 65 years old and I am 72..omg...They finally with some discussion put us on the 2'd floor..12 steps up..what else could we do?? Also very surprised to learn the Sewer Tax was 139.00 dollars American not the very small amount we were told. The Room Was absolutely beautiful, great beds, lots of good soft pillows.. immaculate.. The food was amazing, lots of fresh fruit, every kind of meat, shrimp, on & on... Fresh Salad bar with great variety. Has a specially Coffee shop which was great. The Beach was unkept, lots of garbage around..hardly any beach lounges.. The Pools around the Hotel were nice but very cold..not many people used them. Complained they were so cold. Snorkeling was a 4 out of 10..Very rocky, very cloudy, Would not recommend this for anyone that wants to snorkel. No night entertainment..when it gets dark the day is done. People working their were very nice. The 1hour & 30 was a long way to and from the airport, bumpy, but the Transfer Bus was very nice.

The resort staff, cleanliness and the beach were phenomenal. The resort however was not as described. The Sports Bar is not a bar and serves zero alcohol, the bars close at 6pm, except the lobby and theater bar which sometimes closed at 11pm, or 2pm. Their is only 1 pool bar and they dont play music or have any sort of entertainment there. Perfect resort to sit and read a book, not a good resort if you want to have a drink and dance the night away. The snack bar closed at 6pm. The buffet had a 1+ wait some nights. The resort was beautiful but it is definitely more for people above 55+ and who do not like to drink or party. My travel agent was phenomenal and very helpful but the resort is not as advertised.

First impressions weren’t great to be honest. No welcome drink, room was hot upon arrival as the AC was off, and our fridge wasn’t working (it was heating drinks instead of cooling them) so needless to say we were in desperate search of a cold drink after checking in and getting to our room. Our fridge was fixed the next day after a reminder to the front desk. Also regarding the fridge: only the water was restocked all week, not the sodas or beer. Before I get into more negatives, we enjoyed the beach, pins coladas and family time together; the kids enjoyed the pools as well; it’s a quiet resort and we could find some peaceful pool areas to relax by ourselves. Back to the negatives: the nightly shows were low-effort and pointless to attend; the staff didn’t seem too happy to be there which makes me think they are either underpaid or treated poorly; the buffet lacks variety (though it’s a small resort so that probably reduces food waste); if you’re a big drinker you may find that there are a lack of bars throughout the resort that stay open all the time (the 2 outside bars are open from 11 am- 6 pm and we later found out that there is 1 bar inside the very quiet lobby that is open at different times) so if you want to avoid people partying then that will be a bonus for you. We had a good vacation but when we come back we will likely avoid this resort.

Grand Oasis Hotel is the last resort in that part of the Mayan Riviera. The drive is smooth and a little over an hour, but the service is outstanding. The resort is new, It has a unique design and impressive architecture. The rooms are located in different areas, connected to the main building with little paths. The resort is great for families with children. There were different-sized pools spread between the palm trees. I noticed even a small pool for young kids. The resort is kept clean, and the bathrooms are state-of-the-art. It has a variety of pools and bars, activity areas, and a fancy cafe open 24 hr. One can play pool there, enjoy a chit-chat over a cappuccino, espresso, sweet delights, or relax and watch TV. No alcohol is served in that cafe, and it seemed to be a preferred spot for families. The service in the buffet is the friendliest, The food is excellent. We loved their buffet, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it was so much fun with the variety of dishes. No need for fancy dressing. However, the check-in was challenging. There was no Sunwing rep. I've been in other destinations where the rep meets everyone at the airport and, upon arrival in the hotel, holds an orientation session where the stay is explained in detail and the return to the airport is set so everybody can enjoy their time, with no confusion, worries about the departure date. Sunwing rep was available if needed assistance. That is a key moment to have a relaxing holiday, and guarantee to visit again. On arrival at the Lobby, the front desk looked like a flea market experiencing an emergency. It took almost 2 hours to fill out the forms. Everyone else was popping in from all sides, with a simple question, and they were attended to first. The basics, which were supposed to be in the fridge, were missing, not even water. I went to the reception 3 times to ask for assistance, and only on day 3, they delivered two bottles of water. This is happening upon arrival, and I began to feel anxious. There were other issues, like how to book the shuttle back to the airport, and no help with this request either. I was looking for the Sunwing rep to assist me and stop the circus created by the reception management. When I asked about a Sunwing representative, the answer I was given was that this hotel doesn't have a Sunwing rep. Overall, I liked the resort, the food, the live entertainment, and the unique pools spread all around. I believe that staying in Grand Oasis could have been a different experience in the presence of a Sunwing rep to assist the guests. Be aware of a front desk employee who can make you regret traveling to Mexico. It happens on check-in when you are pressed to upgrade your room for an average of an additional $600 a week. It seemed to me that the front desk management controls how the operations should go. One must be firm and resist the sales ad vances. It is important to remember not to leave the resort. I would go back there because the resort is wonderful, offers a variety of activities. It is great for couples and families. Enjoying it shouldn't be affected by the poor customer service at the front desk but that was a result of a lack of reps. I met the front desk manager, a quite intimidating lady. If there were a Sunwing rep, the stay at Grand Oasis would not be so stressful.

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Oasis Tulum Riviera with our two 15 year old daughters for a week in March and loved our stay. We had a nice room pool side that was impeccably maintained. The beach was beautiful even though there was some algae brought in by the waves. The water and fish and wildlife were incredible. The food was amazing in every restaurant we visited even the buffet. So many choices and varieties to satisfy every pallet. The staff were pleasant and curtious and eager to help. Thank you Lorenzo for your assistance and Daniel for the history chats. If you are looking for a nice quiet resort nestled in a conservation area in the Mexican jungle where life thrives this is the place for you! ❤️

The facility is old, the rooms are musty and damp, unless you pay extra to get a cleaner room without ants. The entire resort is in bed and shut down by 11:00pm. The entertainment is minimal. I night per week for 1.5 hours of karaoke. If anything, the food was fantastic which was a blessing. Bartender Fernando was overworked and underpaid for the relentless alcohol consumption by some of the “swim up bar” locals.

The location was perfect. Superior beach front couldn’t have been a lovelier spot. The room however was very rough. It’s better than 2.5 but 3 might be pushing it. Old, very moldy smell, sliding doors didn’t work, sink leaked.

Clean, safe on resort ,food was spectacular Staff were courteous and well able to communicate in English. The beach walk was a daily thing trying to get enough steps and wear off some calories from all the food. Very limited entertainment. No evening programs except when the guest do the singing.

We just spent the last 7 days at the Grand Oasis Tulum. This was a long awaited holiday trip from Dec. 25 to Jan. 1. We had 2 rooms, were a family of 5 and I will never stay at another Oasis property nor would I recommend to anyone. I have done many all inclusive vacations and our stay here was BY FAR the worst experience. Checking into kids room (18, 15 and 12 years old) and it has ONE bed. My room with my husband has a bathroom that’s leaking, moldy and filthy. For the kids, we ask for a cot. Hours later, none received. I have to deal with this at 10pm after a day of travel on our first day of “vacation”. Kids were put in a temporary room that night. My husband and I took the kids original room for the rest of our stay. This was a downgrade from our initial oceanfront room that we had paid EXTRA for. Rather than do the right thing and either put my husband & I in an equivalent cost room, or at least offer us some sort of compensation. I was asked to agree and sign something saying that I accept that I wont get a refund. Which I did because I’m tired, on vacation and going in circles. The kids were assigned a new room the following day. It appeared ok upon initial inspection, since it had just been cleaned. A few hours later, it SMELLS horribly of sewage. Can’t open the patio door for fresh air. Bathroom is gross. We don’t have the energy to deal with changing AGAIN. Thought that with it being cleaned everyday, they could make it work. Housekeeping NEVER came despite at least TEN requests over 5 days. No toilet paper, no towels. The no reservation system across the restaurants is archaic. Waiting 1 to 2 hours to get in, IF you get in. The Maki Taco restaurant took us 2 tries on 2 different nights to get in and the food was revolting. Quite literally some of the worst food I’ve every had. Overall the grounds are in shambles. Everything is falling apart or is patched together (not well) to make things look OK. The beach and grounds are not kept up well. There was garbage that sat in the same spots every day. The first thing every morning should be a sweep by staff - this is BASIC. Although the buffet has a lot of options, the food for the most part is quite disgusting. At checkout, my 15 year old son had taken off his bracelet in him room. We were not advised that upon departure we’d have to have the bracelets cut at the front desk. With our shuttle for the airport out front waiting to go, the guy at the reception desk is not letting our son leave. He was rude and essentially holding our kid hostage. We had to go back to the room (which is a long walk away) dig into the trash for the bracelet. The staff were great. Such good people, they made it bearable and we had fun with them. The beach is beautiful. We travelled with another family who share the same sentiment. Their toilet overflowed, took forever to get it fixed and then even longer for housekeeping to come and clean up the mess. The whole time we were there, we heard many other guests sharing the same stories and/or trying to change rooms. Trust me. Pick another resort.

First room we were given was in a bad shape: broken furniture, damaged walls, tub looked like it was painted with a brush multiple time, caulking in a bad condition, access door behind the toilet opening up to some pipes, high voltage cable cut and not capped, another in a junction box with no lid and a constant electrical buzz. We were travelling with a 3 and 6 year old kids, and were placed in an adult only section, the furthest away we could be from the kids zone, no elevator access. We got moved to a closer and better room. Still not a 4.5 stars. Pictures announced slides, park, an inflatable climbing structure for the kids. there’s one small structure in a rough shape, one ground park slide that acts as a water slide that is to steep to be safe. Other than that, nice beach, great food, nice people **beware of the environmental tax. We were given a link to pay it up front, never asked for it, hotels charges it, don’t care about my receipt, charges it anyway and not the same price.**

Hello. Let me start from thank you for the opportunity to share my thoughts about the trip. When I was booking a trip I was told that there would be environmental charges for 1.38 us per night, and that would come approximately 10us dollars. When we got to the hotel we were charged 78us. Almost 8 times more. Isn’t it nice? During our stay we tried desperately find sunwing representative. We never found anyone. So, the weather was good and sea was nice, but these 2 things kind of spoiled the vacation. Otherwise next time we would like to get a little more truthful information to be prepared for. Thanks

Poor service, low quality food, limited choices of food, low quality drinks, limited choices of drinks. Hotel management does not take ownership of their issues. We've been in a room without hot water for the first 4 days, then they change us to a new room on Sunday at 9pm., after everyday notifications of this issue. Absolutely not worthy to come back

Grand Oasis Tulum was a joy to go to. Small and compact to negotiate youraelf around. Beach and ocean was beautiful. Good for snorkelling and kayaking around the coral reef. The resort is dated but service from the workers were top notch. All in all we loved this little jem. Thanks from Bruce and Kelly

Although we were thrilled with the service, staff, and food it was all overshadowed by how misleading the resort description and pictures were. We specifically booked Grand Oasis Tulum for the amenities offered for children and for how family friendly the resort was. Unfortunately, many of the features shown online were not even there, we were informed that the pictures are over two years old…the hotel was so far off of what we expected we even checked our booking to make sure we were at the correct hotel! We also were met with loud music entertainment at night which would normally be great BUT it was all hosted in the “kid zone“ area, it was extremely disruptive to our child and made bedtime extremely difficult…why they do this when there is an entire adult only section we couldn’t quite figure out. Overall we made the best of it but we were extremely disappointed in how misleading the the details were. Please update the site as what is being shown is so not what the hotel offers or even looks like anymore…

This resort is the worst I have ever been too. No entertainment. Front desk staff are very ignorant. Bars close at 11:00 and don’t open til 11:00. Beach is not maintained and if you don’t get up and put towels on a chair by 5:00 am you won’t have a chair on beach or around pool. Line up early for ala carted or you are waiting forever. I would never return here.

I thought the restaurants were great , service was amazing I was disappointed we didn't arrive to the resort until 8pm because our shuttle dropped off quite a few people before arriving to our resort. Check out was at 12 pm which was fine but I thought we could use services until we had to leave at 4. It's kind of a rip off because you loose a day traveling there and half a day due to check out yet you have to pay for 7 full days.

It was a last minute vacation I checked for a resort in Mexico I had a limited budget to spend I checked with trip central for a good deal I was very lucky I called my agent jenn black who suggested grand oasis tulum to spend my vacation at.it was a good choice jenn encouraged me to book my vacation there iam thankful for her .my vacation went so good the resort was what I asked for not so big not crowded grounds were kept well rooms are spacious and clean people are welcoming food was great with lot of choices location is convenient. Beach is cleaned daily from sea weed value is good. They need only to focus more on entertainment. Overall it was a great experience thanks for grand oasis tulum and my amazing agent jenn black.

Rated as a 4 Star - struggle to see a 3 star- rooms outdated furniture soiled, tubs were falling apart and shower leaked regsrdless of how you held the nozzle had to move twice to find a decent room, which was still a push for 3 star Manager was no help- very disappointed tried to charge extra for a room that was still poor

My room was nice with the door to the beach. The air conditioner did not cool my room enough, it was 26 degrees when set at 19. The food was the same every day. No guacamole at all which was disappointing. Also would be nice to be able to take food back to my room. The beach is mostly gone, sand washed away and now it’s rock. Pool was dirty. I have stayed there 3 times and this time was disappointing. Don’t think I will stay there again.

Hotel was clean. Beautiful area, but beach had alot of algae. Since this resort is a family resort, it was not the best for 3 single ladies travelling together. It announces dancing every night...at 11 pm sorry but no one there dancing. Buffet closed 2 nights during the week, so it caused long line ups for supper for the 3 restaurants. Staff were very accommodating to all requests. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone but families.

Far from airport. Was very quiétude during pour stay. Would have appreciate music and animation during the Day. Didn't Read Much before last minute booking. Good food. Loved the beach. Pictures let us think we would have access to the Sian Khan hôtel next door which wasn't the case... Little disappointed but well rested.

This was our first time in Mexico and it was beautiful !The food was very good and lots of selection. My husband has a cane due to a recent knee replacement so our room was on the ground floor to make things easier for him. The ocean was warm and the sunrise was spectacular! I would be happy to recommend this resort.

The resort is beautiful and well kept.Our room was clean and the beach was gorgeous. The only thing we felt was a let down was that they had really nice restaurants but they were under staffed so we didn't get the service that the restaurants should have had. This was our second time going and the first time the restaurants were great. It seemed like there had been some changes to them. The buffet was amazing though so we ate really well there almost the entire time, and sushi on the beach was so good. I also LOVED that there was a great cafe on site to get a really good coffee/latte whenever. Overall we love this resort.

If you have kids and want to be in bed by 9pm, it’s perfect. There was no music except at one location and it was awful hipster electronica. There was not a lobby bar, in fact there were no bars... well one, it was a swim up bar and it closed at 5pm. Staff were ok.. like not mean but certainly not friendly. I don’t ever complain and I’m not even complaint now, I just want people to have visibility to what it really is. Rooms were clean and nice, the atmosphere just wasn’t for our family.

Rooms were very clean and maintained daily. The pool for the kids was great for our 1 year old and our 3 year old. They had activities for the kids daily and shows every evening. The food was amazing. Very tasty and lots to go around. They seemed to be slightly understaffed but all the staff were very friendly and willing to help at any time. The showers were steaming hot but still hot enough. The beach had a lot of seaweed when we went but the hotel tried their very best to maintain it. Overall the hotel was amazing, everything was close, no long walks to any particular area, friendly, well organized, great for families, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a place in Mexico.

This place is truly a hidden gem. I have to admit we were upgraded to the Adult only Sian side of the resort and it was SOOOOO beautiful. We were on the first floor and had a walk out to the pool area for the adults only and it was a private oasis. I am happy that we were up graded as I don't know if would want to be on the other side. Many children and I would not like the idea of having to wait in line for the buffet. If you go PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE go to the Oyster restaurant and say hello to Victor. He is an incredible gent and make sure to order the surf and turf. The steak was incredible!!! We ended up going there 4 nights out of our 7. Overall this place is sooooooo beautiful. The rooms were clean, and the bed very comfortable. You are doing something right here Grand Oasis Tulum! We were 3 woman that went to relax and we did just that!!! Traveled April 2nd to April 9th.

Perfect resort for families and also for adults at the adjacent resort Sian Kaan. Small resort with only a few steps from the restaurants, pools and the beach. The staff, entertainers and the service provided was outstanding and so was the variety of food available. The beach and the location is also perfect because of the proximity to a host of different attractions. We will be back and highly recommend this resort to everyone. PS: the agent at tripcentral was also very helpful and went out if her way to ensure our needs were met.

The resort is amazing. We stayed at the Sian Kaan for the entire trip. The place is just a paradise, so calm, quite and beautiful. Food presentation is awesome, servers are very friendly but it would be better if they put more staff during the meal time so that it could be more efficient. The only shortfall is the beach area has too much sea weed and rocks, and if the staff can communicate in English. Otherwise, we have no complaints at all.

A fantastic smaller resort! Great large clean rooms, excellent for families with kids - kids zone with separate pool and activities! Shows were entertaining and food was delicious. Great bang for your buck - would happily go back!

The hotel amenities were fine. Hey were there, but not necessarily functional. They had a few bars there, but half the time there was no bartender. When there was a bartender, it would take a while for them to “get ready” to serve. You had to wait a long time for a simple drink. Basically, they need more staff present to serve and man the bars. We would frequently have to go from one end of the resort to the other end (from pool to the beach) just to get one drink. Coffee was only served in one bar, and there was always a line up at that bar. There was also a smell of stale water all around, like the dirty water (maybe sewer water). Wifi was paid ($45 US for 5 days), but only worked well at the indoor areas, not so well at the pool areas. The good: the kids pool is a great area. They could add some light ambiance music over speakers in parts of it though. The beach area was really nice and they offered free snorkeling gear at times. Not sure if thee was a catch to it since I didn’t use them. The nature surrounding the resort was beautiful and calming. Overall the experience was not bad, but I will be looking at a different place if I go back to Mexico.

I chose this place for relaxation base on the recommendation from a colleague of mine and today back to work I much appreciated her. I really could not see any point that I was not delighted or happy about. Above all the staff are great there; so friendly, tidy, sincere, caring and genuine. The room was classy, with the best view toward the sea. And every every thing there. Big congratulations to the management of Grand Oasis Tulum/ Sian Ka'an resort. Job done professionally. And I have already started recommending this resort to the colleagues and friends and posted photo in Facebook.

My fridge door was broken I ask them to fix it . They didn't fix it. I had to ask for water every day . No pool towel .we have to wait on line every time food . No free wifi that was very inconvenient. Just one buffet restaurant for lots of guests . Bad service in the restaurant , we have to ask for soda pop or water few times . I would never go there

Lovely grounds, attentive and well organized kids club. Hotel needs to get a better system for cleaning seaweed. While seaweed itself is natural and unavoidable, leaving it plastic bags for several days is an eyesore to what would otherwise be just a naturally beautiful beach.

Hotel itself was very nice and very clean with the acception of sewer smell in the bathroom of out room that would only be in the evening. The llocals and personelle that waited on us were very friendly. The only negative draw back was that we were not informed from Susan Snyder that arranged the reservation , she failed to inform on how far the hotel was from the airport. It took us a 2 hour drive.. had we known beforehand how far out distance i wouldn’t have booked this hotel. Not much night life. Only 1 show a night. And everywhere we went we felt obligated to tip because the personelle would ask for tips. The beach was nice but had too much smelly seaweed all along the shore . It was not pleasant to look at everyday and smell. The last day we were there they passed a tractor collecting all the seaweed. This should have been done when people were not on the beach. Not much room to walk on the beach or grounds.

this resort was awesome,from our arrival late Friday night the service was great the staff friendly the food was amazing.Thank you Mexico thank you Grand Oasis Tulum we will visit again likely in Feb/Mar 2020.

The hotel is very family friendly, lots to do for young children, if you are looking for a party hotel this is not it but if you are looking for relaxing and peace this is the place to go. The stuff is very friendly and the food is amazing, lots of variety and high quality foods. The beach is beautifil unfortunately during our stay there was a lot of see weeds, of course it only happens sometimes.

Every staff person was wonderfully friendly and hard-working. Our room was spotless and the grounds were exceedingly well kept. The buffet restaurants and others all offered an abundance of delicious Mexican and alternative food. We found the beach a little tough on the feet (traveling with an infant) so we spent most of our swimming time at the pools, which have many activities and great infrastructure for children.

I really enjoyed the smaller resort. Food was good, room was perfect and beach was nice. The staff were all very friendly. Yes we had to wait in line for buffet but it was not too long. We were a large group and they did a good job accommodating all of us. I had a hot water issue but it was dealt with within few hours. Over all...fabulous vacation with my family! Would definitely come back to this resort! My only recommendation would be to have music playing at the pool and more fun pool parties.

We arrived to Grand Oasis Tulum on January 6th. The resort is beautiful. Check-in was HORRIBLE. Very disorganized front desk - people trying to check in and others complaining about their rooms. Once check-in was complete, the remainder of our vacation was wonderful. We were in the Adults Only section (Sian K'aan section) which was lovely including our own pool area, swim-up bar, lobby and a few restaurants. The resort is quite small (not a lot of walking), but very beautiful. The grounds are amazing, beach awesome, and the staff are great. There are a variety of restaurants for lunch and dinner - no reservations required. The buffet restaurant is large with lots of choice.

Resort was beautiful , loved the clean pools , food was awesome , buffet carried huge collection. Coming to room , we were not that lucky, first room we got was balcony as promised by my agent , but that room had a leaky washroom and they did not upgrade us instead shifted us to a smaller room. Whose shower broke very second day ,had choked Wash basin which never got fixed, then we had faulty AC which hardly got fixed . We complained 3 times AC worked only one day even after so called "repair".

We picked this resort for its smaller size, its closeness to Chichen Itza, but mostly for its advertisement as “the quiet resort”. We weren’t disappointed. Food was great, employees friendly and the coffee bar a great addition.

Small resort... reasonably well maintained. Process to reserve at 'a la cartes' was strange... most people aren't looking to have to stand in line each and every day they want to make a reservation. That being said, access to the restaurants didn't seem to be a problem despite very few seatings being available and the food was very good... 'blackened filet' at the Steakhouse was awesome! Service was very friendly but VERY slow... seemed generally understaffed! Rooms were okay... didn't get the accommodation we paid for and that seemed to be a familiar story in speaking with other guests. Pools were COLD with the exception of the pool in the area dedicated to the kids. Not what we have been used to in previous resort experiences... not likely to return but still enjoyed our vacation... great access to long walks on the beach!

This resort is NOT what it appears to be..Our rooms were suppose to be Pool Gardenview Rooms and we were in the Children's section with a swamp behind our room and no pool in sight. There were trees in the swamp was that suppose to be our Gardenview Room..Our Room smelt musty and our pillows were sour smelling. The decorative pillows that were on our bed when we arrived were never put back on the bed during our stay they were piled in the corner of the room, perhaps that's where part the smell came from. I advised the Oasis staff as well as the Air Canada Rep..and basically nothing was done to correct the situation. They showed me the type of rooms we were suppose to have but they only had one and it was on the second floor so they gave us the rooms at the back behind the Children's area. The patio was dirty, never swept or washed and the lounge chairs were covered with bird droppings. The pools were NOT user friendly, no hand rails to assist guest to enter the pools safely..the one pool only had a ladder to get in and out..one of the other pools was so slippery at the entry point someone could have easily fallen and hit their head on the large rocks that were around the pool. They were for sure not meant for older people (late 50's to early 70's). At the pool bars the music was so boring that we actually asked the bar tender to TURN IT OFF. The Restaurants were small and in order to get a reservation you had to be in line at 4:00 pm each day, reservations were only booked between 4:00 pm & 5:00 pm but that didn't make any difference by 4:05 pm every reservation was booked. The food was okay but we have had better. Front Desk Clerks left a lot to be desired..trying to get US Funds changed into pesos was an experience and a half...had to sign the photo copy of our passports again, and then another paper was presented and we had to sign that as well....after 20 minutes we finally got our $10.00 US changed into pesos. Yet another couple went up and with second had their pesos without any signature and they were exchanging a lot more money. I think this resort is more for people that are there on their honeymoon and not a group of people on a vacation to have some fun. We booked a tour with the Air Canada Rep. the cost was $200.00 US per couple..It was a trip over to Cozumel with sight seeing etc. we were suppose to be able to shop in Playa del Carmen for an hour prior to loading the ferry but the NONE of the stores were open that early in the morning. Parts of the tour were okay but got rather frustrated with all the time that was wasted waiting...we were also suppose to be able to shop in Cozumel when we got back from the jeep tour of the island...BUT because it took so long to get from point A to point B we were told there would be no shopping in Cozumel and we were directed to go directly to the ferry to head back to Playa Del Carmen..once back in Play Del Carmen we stood and waited again until they finally told us to follow the guides back to the place to get the shuttle back to the resort (this was a 25 minute walk back to this location). Not impressed. This by means is any fault of Trip Central Melissa Alexander was very helpful in getting our trip organized and would use Trip Central again without a problem.

Though the resort had nice pools, great beach and wonderful food I found the customer service was poor. There was no orientation to become acquainted with the features of the hotel, restaurants available, how to reserve at the restaurants and times and locations of shows. When we had a room problem we were not offered any resolution. Only when we demanded a solution did they find an alternative for us. The food was fabulous and highly recommend. The bed was very comfortable and the resort was clean. Easy and close access to pools and beach areas. A few times we had an issue with sewer smell in our room. When we complained they did spray the room with a freshener but the problem repeated itself.

I picked this hotel mainly because of its beach, calm waters all year round from the reef that protected it. When we got to the hotel after 6 hours of travel, we were greeted by the news that there was no room for us and that our only choice was to be transferred to another hotel. Thank god for my cell phone that i was able to call/email/text Tripcentral and I am almost sure that when they saw I was not going to back down, they told my partner that for $70.00 a night, they will upgrade us to a better room. At this point, we were tired and so angry about the ridiculous situation that I said if you will move us to another hotel, then I want to be moved to a hotel of my choice and not what they would pick for us. After a few more exchanges of words, we were finally given one of their rooms in the adult section (Sian Kaan). The room was nice and big but i didn't like the fact that we had it cleaned in the mornings and we would come back after dinner noticing that our room was oddly fixed again. We tried three of their a la carte restaurants and they were good. It seemed that most of the staff weren't too happy working there, only forces a smile and hello as you greeted them. During the busy hours in their buffet restaurant, it seemed that they were always short-staffed. After that initial confrontation with the front desk staff on the very first day of our vacation, it pretty much dampened our demeanour and I could honestly say that we will not go back to this resort.

We loved the resort! Great food options. We loved the coffee shop and sushi bar on the beach! The staff were very friendly and the resort was kept very clean. The ocean view room was beautiful! We came with our 1 1/2 year old and it was great. It's not a noisy resort so it's perfect for young families or people that want to relax more then party.

Did not meet our expectations. Washroom stunk like a sewer. Air conditioning only on and off - temperature adjustment and low, medium, high settings did not work. They served drinks in glass at the bar, resulting in broken glass around the pool deck. We reported this twice, and no one came to sweep it up. Beach chairs old and worn - sunk through and had the support beams in my back. Only good chairs were around the pool. AlaCartes easy to book, but food was not up to normal Mexican standards. Had to pay $6 per day for use of the safe. Nobody else charges for these. Staff was polite and friendly.

The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff was amazing! There were many pools, including some reserved for adults only in the "GRAND" section. Loved it!! The beach was amazing!! There were a little bit of rocks but other than that, it was great!! Be careful with people at the airport or in the hotel lobby offering "a free gift". The goal is to bring you to another hotel to attend a 2 hour presentation. Then you will be asked to buy a membership...Every day, there was someone trying to sell us the free gift, which was pretty annoying. We bought some excursions with Air Canada and they were very pricy for what we got. The catamaran excursion was not so great and very expensive – very disappointing. For all your purchases, you can request to be charged in pesos instead of $US. When you buy an excursion, Air Canada will offer a “free trip” to Playa Del Carmen. Again, there was a catch – we had to spend 45 minutes into a jewelry store and of course, there was a lot of pressure to buy something. We complained and we were able to go to Playa Del Carmen after an hour of waiting at the jewel store. And finally, the hotel is a little far from everything…if you want to stay at the hotel or go to Tulum, it will be great! But if you want to go to Playa Del Carmen or Cancun for example, be ready to spend a lot of time on the road!!

This hotel was great. The food was good, the view was amazing, it was very clean. The one downfall I experienced was a lack of willingness to accommodate reservations for dinner. There were three restaurants we were unable to get into and the ones we did were after 9pm and the resort was not busy. Besides this, the waitstaff were amazing, kind and caring. The beach was spectacular and the games and shows were fun!

Everything was nice and clean. Service was great. Food was different but ok. Rooms clean but could still use some updating. Other than that everything was ok.waiters and maids were very good.i could go back.

The hotel is located on one of the best beaches. The resturants were wonderful . I really had the most wonderful time! The only thing I would have change is the rooms need upgrading. The are a bit dated... And the typical mustiness was present.the staff is wonderful , issues were resolve quickly! Overall a good hotel can't wait to go back!

The view was amazing/ breath taking. Small quiet resort ! Not for young people wanting to party! Make sure you stay at the grand oasis. Met a couple who were way at the back of the resort and not everything was included in their package!!

People are very friendly and welcoming. Food is amazing and the ocean and beach terrific. A place to add to your travels! Visited the ruins of Tulum and worth every penny! Terrif views, very good guide.

We stayed here for 7 days and found it to be a clean well cared for resort.there was always something going on in the theatre at night. Staff , for most part was friendly and helpful.i did go to spa for a massage with Ninive who was wonderful. The only real complaint I had was I thought the Nori wet bar was to close to kids play and pool area as some people got a little out of hand with course language the more they drank

Stayed at the Grand Oasis Tulum over christmas and new years. The reort is very beautiful but didn't realize how calm of a resort this is. We were always looking for things to do and had a problem once we got back. Had some pictures taken with a monkey and paid for 4 pictures and once we got home there were no pictures. The hotel is trying to recover these for us. I will rate it as a 4 star cause due to some mishaps the reort and staff were great

Food was good lost of variation, service was excellent. The beach was awful not very big and not so clean. The building we were in had scorpions. Not much to do at that resort and you were far for everything you needed to take the bus or taxi gets expensive.

This was my first time at an All-Inclusive and it was disappointing. Half the resort was being renovated and my party was relocated (without us being told) to another part of the resort that was not part of the main grounds. The vacationers staying in this section shared the site with staff that were living there. As well there were security issues resulting in a room change. There was a strong rancid smell which indicated that we were adjacent to the Sewage Reservoirs. Food was fair with very limited healthy and/or vegetarian options. Staff was friendly and respectful but slow to respond to requests. Beach and pool areas were awesome.

Hotel was very Mexican, Oscar was the drink maestro! And Noeli made the best morning coffees! Lots of sun! Great beach and friendly staff, Tulum is a very special place. Kids had lots to do with so many activities close by if that's the type of vacation you're looking for you can't beat the location.

beautiful beach and very comfy beds!!the rooms were so so not what we would call amazing..sorry grand oasis..you are missing a clear direction and we were getting very mixed messages!! i know its supposed to be the ''calm resort'' but with absolutly no music in any out side areas but banging and construction in al the hallways and outside that was not calming, but sad!!we had many issues with this...food was basic as were the drinks..if you wanted premium you had to pay and we were in the grand section..humm not so grand! disapointing stay,we had booked a balcony and were given a room with only a window that did not open!! requested a room change and were given one the following day on first floor with a walk out to pool..much nicer but had a musty smell and the plumping traps in bathroom were not done properly so had the gasses coming into room at times from rooms above! we were also constantly harrased by the life styles staff to come on a ''tour'' for a free bottle of tequila..yep! thats why we spent the extra money hoping for a ''grand experiance'' NOT...also listening to every one we came in contact with complaning about their experaince was very sad//thank heaven we didnt stay on the reg oasis side..they were truely miserable there!!BUT on the upside we did have some wonderful experiances with the staff..all very hard working people true of heart and trying hard to make our visit a pleasant one..i would like to thank Noeli Gomez in the ''coffee and me'' shop for making us amazing coffee every morning[the stuff they call coffee in the buffet was gross] she was so pleasant and always had a smile and we always enjoyed going there..thanks for the laughs Noeli!!and the buffet staff were lovely and made our last night fun with some of our new and old friends with ''tequila boom booms''......also 3 of us ladies indulged in the best massages at the spa!! big thankyous go to Bruce in the SPA and i forget his name but the argentianan man with the pony tail...we must say gave us the best massages ever..i always request a female but couldnt this time BUT you made us all feel so comfortble and you made a convert out me! i will request a male next time thanks to this experiance!! we also did a mayan ritual on the resort with the argintenian man out side on the beach within the steam room ..i think is as called the ''tekelum''..very spirtual and i highly recommend it!!WOW..loved that part of this resort!! well thats it..good and bad..ps the front desk staff were very unfriendly and sour..proberly because of the constant complaints!..so sorry Grand Oasis i couldnt give you a better review..we are expected better and will definatly come back to tulum mexico but NOT to the oasis!

This was our second time at this resort.The grounds were beautifully maintained, the staff was exceptional- especially Emmanuel at the snack bar Arreciffis. The beach is very clean and the water crystal blue. The pools were well maintained and very clean. The spa facilities were very nice as well. The food is very good-better than some of the resorts we have visited in the past.
