Sea Garden Beach Resort
Nice hotel, great staff except for the bartenders who have no personality and are rude. Food was good and the Italian Restaraunt was wonderful. The beach is a cove across the street and the water is as warm as bath water. The lifeguards are not attentive at all they spend all day out of their post following the girls around. Granted it is a cove and not deep at all so very low probability of an incident but they are paid to pay attention as there were a lot of little ones around. Lots of chairs at the beach so never an issue to get one and you do not have to go early to ensure you do get one.

Beautiful beach and wonderful staff.
We stayed a week at the Sea Garden resort. It has a great location 5 minutes from the airport and hip strip. The hotel is charming with well kept rooms and grounds. The staff were lovely, always doing their best to ensure a comfortable stay. The beach is breathtaking with snorkeling, kayaks, and floaties available for guest use. Food was always consistently good and their coffee was delicious. We hope to return again sometime soon.

Awesome resort!
This was my 3rd visit to Jamaica and 3rd stay at Sea Garden. I love the "family" feel, the staff are amazing, the grounds are beautiful, food is great, the beach is beautiful and the price point is affordable. I can't say enough about this resort. Absolutely love it!

Exactly as pictured
This resort was lovely and great value. The room was spacious and clean. Water in the shower needed to be run for a while to get hot water. The staff was friendly. Angie was stellar and her friendly face every morning greeting us at breakfast was a great way to start the day. The beach is pristine and the water was the perfect temp. There were always loungers available in both sun and shade every time we went to the beach throughout the day. Lifeguards were friendly. Music played on the beach made for a really fun and relaxing environment. The steel drum band was a highlight of the trip for me! I didn't use the pool at all because the beach is so perfect. It has a roped off cove that makes the whole beach have a very intimate feel. It looks exactly like the promo photos! You have to cross a small dead end road to get to the beach but there is a crossing guard, not that one is really necessary. I was concerned about this before going but I think it was a blessing in disguise having the beach separate from the rest of the resort. The food at the buffet is mostly Jamaican (jerk chicken, stewed beef, curried goat, fried white fish) and it was delicious but they do also have some American options like mac'n'cheese. The food on the beach was excellent and they served jerk chicken, cheeseburgers, fries, and some other options I didn't try. The jerk chicken on the beach was so tender and delicious! Best chicken I've had in recent memory. For breakfast there is also an omlette option and it served the best omlette I've ever had custom made in front of the guests. The disco/nightclub is small, which isn't a problem but the music was SO loud. Too loud. One night they had great music but then other nights the music was out of touch with the vibe of the guests. The drinks are made very strongly. I personally like some coke in my rum and cokes so I was a little put off, but I'm sure this would be a good thing for some people. The hotel coffee is terrible. Luckily the resort is only a 10 minute walk from a Starbucks at a brisk pace. Overall I had a very positive stay here and I would come back in a heartbeat!

So happy we choose Seagarden as our resort
Can’t say I have one complaint with my stay at this resort. Our room was a garden view, clean fresh and inviting. Maids did a fantastic daily cleaning always cheerful and friendly. Maintenance promptly sent to replace burnt out light bulbs and plugged sink. Desk staff went beyond with our requests when going off resort looking out for our safety from cab service to restaurant choices and shopping etc. Serving staff always pleasant throughout entire resort. Public washrooms always clean and stocked. Grounds cease beautiful and well kept. It is a smaller resort but exactly as I wanted. Location close to town and airport making it so easy to go out shopping or dining Call local cab driver Ron 876-453-2312 if you want trusted “ honestâ€service from shopping to great prices out into the country/excursions. Very mannerly, funny, friendly as well as a great driver. After being taken $$$$ by another cab driver/shop it was a pleasure to have been pointed to Ron who took us shopping and accompanied us finding what we were looking to purchase as well took us to reputable shops and not being overcharged

I love this place. Our room was located on the garden side, on the second floor. Super clean, good food great staff. Beach is great, fun water sport available, we had a great time. The only thing I could complain about is no coffee machine in the room. You need to get it in the lobby and walk back to your room.

Loved it!!
This is an older resort but has great character in all the buildings details. Our room faced the sea and was only minutes walk to every thing. The staff were nice and helpful. The beach was the best!!! Its sectioned off nicely so you dont feel crowded and a great jerk chicken and fries. They served a great variety of jamican food! The pool was nothing but the hot tub was great. Great nightly performances and daily activities. And only a 15/20 minute walk to hip street!! And be sure to book a touron miss polly, the glassbottomed boat!

Good resort
Entrance could be more better in order to give a first impression. Rooms in older blocks need renovation. New block is very good. We got upgraded from the old block to the new one as night disco was ver disturbing as it was right below. Two nights we had a bit of problem, but rest of the days were good. More night entertainment required with variety.

Good resort
This was our second time at this hotel in 3 years. We feel comfortable in this hotel as it is small so that everybody remembers you, even the staff after 3 years. The check in was quick and easy, the person helping us with our luggage to our room was very pleasant and told me I look like the funz (Henry Winkler). The food was good and I always like the breakfasts as it is Jamaican style or anyway you want it. The entertainment was absolutely the best we have ever seen. The organizer was very good and we enjoyed all the shows. The beach is small and private just the way we like it. We will be going back again.

Fantastic time !
We enjoyed our time at the Sea Garden Resort. We spent most of our time at the beach and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Nights were fun too as there was nightly entertainment and a disco. Guests were from all over the world and it was nice to be able to meet up with new friends easily as the resort wasn’t too big. Food was good but we would’ve liked to have Jamaican food every night! Curried goat, jerk, and oxtail please! Patties were unbelievable!!!! Breakfast was ok but could be improved with another omelette station and a little more variety with breakfast meats.

Great food! Good location.
3-star resort grounds very well kept, rooms clean. Older resort with some new additions. Great buffet selection (chefs on site!) with plenty of choices at all 3 meals. Wait staff very friendly. As the resort is near the end of Kent Ave., it is less busy with traffic than on nearby Glouchester Street. Three small beaches available across Kent Ave. with some decent snorkelling outside of the beach area. Beach bar/grill very busy. Pool snack bar not the greatest variety of food. Our room (407) in a great location (corner room facing garden and siding parking lot and Kent Ave.), however, as it is close to road, noisy drivers/car music/car alarms (horns?) sometimes noticeable. Jets landing mainly in late morning to late evening noticeable but not irritating and didn't continue into the night when we were there (Feb 26 to March 5). Bed (queen) very comfortable, shower weak and needs work. Fridge was replaced the 1st day with a new one. Nightly entertainment very local and good. On two nights food was served outside, around pool. No vendors on private beach. Good choice for adults.

Great value
This is a smaller resort, locally owned .... we were impressed, food was decent and lots of variety, some areas are older but still in great shape... they work extremely hard to keep it clean and it is very clean. They don’t have much restaurants but don’t worry they offer lots of food and always rotating. We talked to other people and they were impressed as well. It’s greay value for your money we enjoyed ourselves and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It’s close to the hip strip and can easily walk the hip and do some shopping... beach area was nice and water was clean, did some snorkeling around the resort and you can hire a boat to take you out further for some amazing snorkeling.... can’t wait to go back

Awesome!!!!!
Our week at SeaGarden Beach Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica was awesome! The whole staff were amazing and felt like part of our family from the minute we arrived until our departure which came too soon. The front desk staff were overly accommodating, especially the lady (sorry, I didn’t get her name) who seemed to be there 24/7 with a smile on her face and always so helpful! Kendrick was our favourite bartender although all were very friendly and always eager to make your desired cocktail. I cannot say enough about the exceptional Activity Staff - Rose, Marlin and Pooh - they are superb!! The food is delicious, new dishes everyday with a variety to please everyone - the desserts and mac & cheese are soooo good! It was great to be able to experience many Jamaican recipes of varying spiciness. All of the waitresses/waiters were so efficient, especially Lisa who took care of us during many of our meals. Our ground floor garden view room, 311, was clean and spacious with a very comfortable king bed, lots of hot water, great air conditioning. Although the in-room safe wasn’t functional, we were able to use a safety deposit box at the front desk which was accessible 24/7. The private beach is beautiful, only a very short walk across the road which is healthy with all the food and drink you’re enjoying!! It is amazing to watch the planes landing, some awesome photo ops. The only minor fault we found is there are many small steps throughout the resort which you have to be careful not to trip on, just watch what you’re doing and don’t hurry - after all your on Jamaican time ;)

Very Good Resort
We just returned from our trip to Jamaica and our 4 day stay at the Sea Garden Beach Resort. The resort is clean and well kept. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Our room was large and modern and the cleaning staff did a good job maintaining it each day. The beach isn't huge and is located across the street from the resort but it is private, clean and great. The food was very good at the buffet restaurant and the beach grill. However, the menu didn't vary much each day and would repeat. I would recommend this place for couples that want a quiet place to get away. If you have kids from ages 6 and up, you would need to go out on trips to keep them from not being bored. Trips out to events are safe currently if you use an agency or a recommended driver by the Sea Garden staff. We used Ron's (Ox) as our driver and he took us to the Luminous Lagoon, waited and returned us for a reasonable price, less than the agency wanted.

Great week at SeaGarden!
My husband and I visited this resort 4 years ago and had a wonderful time. We returned again last week with friends and were not disappointed. This is a locally owned resort that reopened 5 years ago and is in the process of rebuilding. It has an old world charm and while a guest, there is no doubt you are having an authentic Jamaican experience, as opposed to some of the larger European owned resorts that tend to be all alike. There are some things to be aware of ....the rooms are dated, especially the bathrooms and the restaurant is buffet style. If you wish to eat at the a la carte (only one) there is a surcharge per visit. Once you get over that, you can begin to enjoy the wonderful things that SeaGarden has to offer. 1. Unbelievable staff The kind, caring and entertaining staff made out trip spectacular! Special mention to bar staff Ian, Linten and Presley who anticipated our every whim and who continuously went above and beyond. The beach attendant Roach had our chairs and towels waiting for us daily, and referred us to a wonderful glass bottom boat excursion that provided the best snorkelling that we have ever seen. The entertainment team , lead by TRex was fantastic . They entertained us well with their outstanding talent and warm humour. The beach cook, Ricardo worked hard to provide us with great beach barbeque food and yummy jerk chicken and pork. Kudos to the dining room staff who provided prompt and welcoming service. We cant say enough about the dedication of the staff to making the vacation experience outstanding. 2. Beautiful private beach 3. Fantastic entertainment 4. Delicious food . Although the restaurant was buffet style, there was plenty of excellent, well prepared and healthy food with a lot of variety. All and all we rated our vacation experience a 10 out 10. we give the resort itself an 8.5 out of 10 marred only by the lackluster rooms and tired bathrooms. That being said, we understand that hotel management will be addressing this moving forward. We will return and look forward to the continuing upgrades to this resort. !

Clean but overpriced Resort
Small Resort generally quite clean all round. Very limited beach area with no water sport equipment and separated from the Hotel by the road passing through. Entertainment is poor and non-existent on the beach. Food is decent and tasty, small variety though and can be repetitive. Only one A-La-Carte dining BUT you have to pay extra!! (empty throughout the 7-days we were there). Room furniture and upkeep is quite dated!

When we first entered the hotel and noticed the beach was across the street we were apprehensive. However, once inside dealing with the staff we were quickly changed for the better. Wayne in the dining room was an absolute sweetheart, the bartenders Staintan, Martin and Presley were amazing and always eager to help. The hotel has only been re-opened for a year and the improvements are ongoing but will not interrupt your stay. The entertainment staff amazing and always trying to keep you involved. Returned to the SeaGarden again this year. Staff and food were excellent. Thank you Shanika! :) Disappointing was being banned from the cove side beach for a private all day affair. Sunday's buffet was the most badly handled meal with terrible line ups, food and plate shortages. However the hotel did an excellent job accommodating those unable to leave Monday due to cancelled flights. Special thanks to the gentleman who took us to see the Macaws and Blue. Old resort reopened!
This Resort was terrible, it would not suite many vacationers who are used to a real resort. This is an old resort which was closed for 13 years and re-opened about a year ago or so. It appears money is not being spent on the resort, lacking beach and pool towels, cushions for beach chairs, toilets constantly running, patio doors have broken locks, lack of fruit for drinks, no bandaids etc. The management was awful, dishonest and ignorant. Don't be disappointed by the filty unworking jacuzzi tub or the many water fountains that lack water and are non functioning. You may be searching for your own cutlery to eat with at this resort. I would not recommend this resort, it is not worth the savings. The positives: The yard was kept clean. Some staff were exceptional, the pool attendant was excellent for service considering he was working with a shortage at the pool. The manager for the food was above exceptional dealing with guests. Wayne the server was excellent. He is a server in which other servers should inspire to imitate. The rooms were slightly below average, BUT the toilets constantly run!!!!!!!!!!

Nice place to stay for first time visit
One needs to remember that this place is still under construction. Not everything has been upgraded yet so there is much that would should be improved. Basically I had always wanted to go to Jamaica and this was priced low enough that it allowed me to visit. I'm glad I went, this hotel served its purpose for me and was good enough for the most part. If money is tight but looking to visit Jamaica and they are still priced so much lower then everyone else then book this hotel, enjoy it for what it is and keep expectations low and be happy. If I ever return I would not stay at this place a second time but it was good enough for a first time. The management seems like they do care and are actively working on service, as an example we noticed a handful of servers the first few days that were rude and fairly lazy (when you requested something is seemed like you were putting them out), by day 4 these people were let go and replaced by new employees that had a really good attitude and made the atmosphere much better. I asked one of the managers and they confirmed that they replaced the workers and that they were not just on days off. That being said it was not the best place I've stayed at by a long shot. Food - Let me start by saying I'm not picky when it comes to food at resorts. If I can find a couple of items I can eat daily then I'm happy enough. Their diners were great with usually 3 choices for meats and amazing salad (I'm not a big salad guy but went back numerous times for more as everything was so fresh and full of flavor). On the other hand it is the worse breakfast setup I've ever seen. Almost nothing was edible. I ended up eating yogurt and cereal boxes (well the cereal and not the boxes). It wasn't until one of our last days that we found out you could request an omelette to be made for you, next to no one knew this. Lunches for the most part were decent, nothing great but you could eat. Not much in the way of eating or snacks between diner hours, you could request a burger in the afternoon but they didn't seem too fond of making them. Rooms - Nice and Clean. We had an ocean view with small balcony and it was nice to sit in the morning and watch everything start for the day. NO COFFEE makers, would need to run down and get a coffee and bring back too room, no stocked fridge either, meaning not even water. As far as water - water pressure was something to be desired, to the point that at times the water would stop for a moment when taking a shower and for the most part there was no hot water to speak of, not that you really needed that much hot water but it would have been nice. The bad thing with the ocean view was that this resort is along a main road that runs between the hotel and the beach. So at night you could hear everyone blasting music, racing, and partying, the doors to patio were not sound suppressing in the slightest. Also not really sound proof between rooms but never had an issue with this when there. Beach - Not much for a beach area but what they had was really nice and felt like you were in your own little private area. From what I could see this was the same for most resort beaches there until you went high end. I really enjoyed the beach area and they were working on construction and upgrades for the beach at the time. I've seen some reviews complaining about the planes landing and flying directly overhead but this really was not an issue at all, meaning it happened but there are only so many flights a day and it did not take away from the beach experience at all. Bars - Service was very slow for most part. Really only one bar serving the resort. The staff were caught between providing service and trying to be friendly. They really needed a second bar open or at least another 2 staff members. But you learn to order multiple drinks at a time. For the most part not much for variety in the booze dept either. And this is coming from someone that doesn't really drink.

Quaint Resort
The Seagarden Beach Resort is a small, clean, and fairly quiet resort. Most staff are friendly and helpful. Special thanks to the day staff at the front desk, the entertainment staff, the buffet staff, and the beach staff who helped make our trip so pleasant. The food selection is somewhat limited but always delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Our only issue was overeating. The drinks were also always excellent as well. The beach is small and picturesque but never overcrowded. Staff and guests were always very friendly. The swimming area is like a large ocean pool. There is no undercurrent and I always felt safe swimming there. If you go past the roped off area make sure that you wear water shoes although you will not need them in the roped in area. The airport is close and the airplanes fly by the beach. They were delightful to watch. Our only issue was being constantly harassed by the local people when you go off resort. Some can be relentless. The resort is within walking distance to the "Hip Strip" but there is a nice gift shop within the resort. It is a bit pricier then the strip but it is very convenient. The resort itself is very peaceful and relaxing. There is a beautiful view of the sunset from the beach. There is also a beautiful sunrise from the pool view rooms facing the hillside. All in all, an enjoyable stay.
