This is a lovely hotel with on a gorgeous stretch of beach and a very short drive from the Cozumel airport. The staff are incredibly courteous and professional. The property is small, yet has lots of amenities and fun activities to offer! We played mini-putt, target shooting with paint guns and participated in the water aerobics. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The food was good and the restaurant service was tops! Even though the ocean in front of the property was a little murky with the sargassum, the snorkeling was outstanding just beyond the breaker wall at the edge of the property. A special thank you to Jorge, Adrian and Veronica who were always at the ready with a smile and meal service that went above and beyond. Circe was extremely helpful with reservations for bali beds and beach loungers too - many thanks :) and finally Alfonso our butler welcomed us and made sure we had everything we could want during our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to return!

The resort was good, i did need an elevator for my walker and i booked the ocean view and was told it had elevators but it did not. The gardenview and upgrade building did have elevators and the resort did upgrade us at no charge because of their mistake. The beach was lovely. The resort is small which we preferred. I didnt enjoy the buffet. There was an amazing restaurant 7 min walk down the street called the Lobster house that was great and reasonable. The staff was great. I did find if you are using a walker or wheelchair some of the ramp are pretty steep. Overall it was a good holiday

Resort had lots of helpful and friendly staff. Both Al a carte restaurants were good and buffet had lots to choose from. Beach was great but when the wind is high lots of seaweed makes the water murky but still swimmable. Beware of large rocks in water. If you walk a small distance on the beach passed the break walls the water is chrystal clear. The resort was very clean and the COVID protocol was in order. This hotel isn't huge but very spaced out and laid back. ATM's are not abundant so bring Mexican Pesos and American$$. Also, the bank machines on Cozumel charge a fee as well as a percentage of $$ you withdraw. Beware!! Bring cash and use credit cards for activities. Did some excursions outside of hotel and rented a car for sightseeing. Island seemed very safe. Bring bug spray!! At dusk the mosquitoes are plentiful. All in all was a good get away. Antigen testing was easy for our departure. You just have to book with hotel and was $36 US. Our trip was Feb.22 to Mar 1/22

This resort is extremely well maintained. Everything is spotless. The staff work hard to make sure you have a great vacation. Rooms are very adequate and spacious. The food is better than when we were here 3 years ago. Staff all wear masks and the majority of guests do, also. Masks are mandatory in restaurants for guests. Drinks are very good, not watered down. The beach is amazing. Due to winds, some days it’s crystal clear and turquoise. Other days, it’s murky until you get out about 10 feet. Some days there is seaweed and some days, there is none. The entertainment is very good. We will go back!

Third time to this island, prefer this resort as the beach is besutifyl, no rocks, easy to get to with its own small airport. Beach, hotel, food, location was perfect, service was exceptionel, employees are awesome. Premium rooms are spacious, clean and great ocean view. You can see all the cruise ships cruise by daily

Melia Cozumel was an amazing resort. We found it very clean, comfortable. WE loved the small and intimate size of Melia. Food was so delicious and well prepared. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had fun with all the activities that were offered. The evening shows were amazing. My favourite was the Valentine's day show. I hope to return to Melia Cozumel one day. I would definitely recommend the res8rt to my friends and family.

Stayed at Melia Cozumel the second week of February (our second time visiting here) and we had another wonderful time. The weather was great, the beach was really nice and the service was top notch. The tower rooms are quite large - we had one on the 5th floor with a small kitchenette and table with four chairs, and an excellent view of the beach, incoming and outgoing cruise ships, and the Playa Del Carmen across the straight. The wind was blowing mainly from the east, so the turtle grass washing up on shore was not an issue this week. If the breeze is from the north it does wash up, however the landscapers rake the beach at 6:00am so it was really should not be an issue. Lots of chairs and plenty of shade available. The beach is very walkable, especially to the north. It's much, much nicer than the beach in front of the adjacent hotel to the south, however if you have water shoes to cushion your feet from the pebbles and reef, you can hike along the beach for about a mile to the south. The food was plentiful and good, with something for everyone, so If you go hungry, it's your own fault. One observation was that the options at the buffet were sometimes just warm, never piping hot. The omelette and grilling stations were always fresh, hot and delicious. Being able to eat with an ocean view was great, as the buffet and beach restaurant are directly on the beach. Skip the Italian a la carte - it's just not that good. The International (Paraiso) restaurant was the best of the three with the fresh salmon and mahi-mahi entrees both excellently prepared. The service was excellent. Don't forget to tip the restaurant waiters (interestingly, all men) the bartenders (Antonio at the pool bar, and Abril who served the Bali Bed section - both excellent) and the maids. They all hustle. One negative was that they never once got the restocking of the mini-fridge as we requested, even after speaking with the concierges almost daily. I ended up just grabbing 6 bottles of water from the premium desk each day. Overall a great vacation. We are planning to return with the adult kids and grandkids next time!

Cozumel Melia is a very well kept resort. The grounds are clean as are the two pools. The pool without the poolbar in our opinion is actually kept too warm! It is heated not giving you a refreshed or cooled off feeling underthe hot sun. Bartenders at all bar are fast friendly and knowledgeable! Only draw back with the resort is its location. Although only seven minutes from the airport it is located 150 yards from a cement pier which disablesthe natural flow of water in that direction. This results in often merky water close to and sometimes further out from shore. On the other side of the pier the water is crystal clear Carribean blue and good snorkeling! We stayed in a room on the oceanfront ground floorwith spa tub on patio..not used by most.. nothing more than a selling upgrade enticement. Nice to walk out of room to beach however the view from floors above are as good or better without the higher premium cost. Check-in was personal private comfortable informative and nicley air conditioned with a cold drink offered when booking Royal and premium suites. Ask for service and you will get it..but dont expect it if you dont. For example more water, ice, and beer in room

Enjoyed variety of activities and even though 2 adults travelling, still liked family pool. Food lacked variety, but there was always something to find. Liked the grill for lunches. Rooms are a little outdated, but clean and met our needs.

We enjoyed our stay at the Melia in Cozumel Mexico. Pros- ocean front rooms, beautiful white sand beach. No need to get up early to save a lounger as they have lots. Lots of shade Friendly helpful staff Location close to the airport and town Cons food in buffet needs to be hotter. Quality of food met the 3.5 star standard Rooms need a dresser

Awesome beach, smaller resort, very clean, food is just ok not great, rooms are large and clean, close to the airport. Staff is very friendly, one of the best resort beaches on the Island, we have stayed at 3 other resorts and this is by far the best.

Just returned from a week at the Melia in Cozumel. It was our 4th visit to this hotel. While it’s been 6 years since we were last there we were pleased with some of the upgrades made for example wifi is now available in your rooms not just the lobby, they have covered beds with electrical outlets on the beach and poolside. Nice to see the adult pool is no longer freezing cold, it was nice to jump in and not be shocked by the temp. Loved seeing Nemencio and Ignatio again, they were exceptional wait staff. If you are looking for a relaxing all inclusive vacation this hotel is the perfect place. It’s small and nobody is going crazy and making noise after 11 pm. Loved being back.

Beautiful site, ocean views wonderful. Room in Tower was roomy with newer walk- in shower. Staff very hard working and very concerned with providing excellent service. Food in the buffet was very good, varied and there was something for everyone. A la Carte restaurants served well presented options. Facilities kept clean and attractive. Beautiful soft sandy beach. A small resort and easy to get around. Very quiet and relaxing. Would return for another vacation.

Smaller resort Very clean and well kept grounds Staff always attentive Buffet was great, Italian a la carte was good, Mexican a la carte was OK and international a la carte service was extremely slow. Hotel caters to golfers so beach and pool were never crowded. Everything closes at 1am. Don't expect too much for night life.

* A+ for the welcoming staff (includes the main dining room; bar services; room attendants) - a B+ for the front desk (helpful as long a you did not have a major problem) * Upgrades since our last visit (January 2018) are obvious. The resort is now painted in a neutral beige/white (rather than the 1980s themed bright yellow!) Tower bathroom in room are mainly now walk-in showers - very nice with overhead shower fixture. * Glad to have a dresser placed in our tower room (needed for a two week stay) but many people did NOT have a place to put their clothing except for a small closet. * Areas are well maintained and CLEAN - except for the two bathrooms (by the pool + downstairs by the restaurants). For only two stalls used all day … they need more bathrooms. The attendants worked to keep them clean but when used toilet paper is requested to be put into a basket (not down the toilet) the smell is overpowering. Needs to be emptied on an hourly basis if that is their request. * We are not 'foodies' so we ate at the regular restaurant buffet for our meals. Good choices, but could be hotter. * Wages are low, so we always tip generously. $3USD at breakfast and lunch; $5 at dinner. (If we want our room cleaned - fresh towels every other day we tip $5 and usually some fun school supplies/stickers/treats etc. - we just leave the sign on the door 'Do Not Disturb' if not needing cleaning). The employees work non-stop and are so pleasant to guests - saddened to see zero gratuity left at numerous tables. * As two late 50s adults, we definitely prefer the Tower rooms (8th floor or higher) and which is connected to the adult only pool and bar. Elevator service is prompt, although the stairways are handy for lower floors. * As we are very familiar with Cozumel, we purchase two bicycles in town for our two weeks (not at the Mega) and are able to safely explore the 5km route into town, and zip around the backroads of town with no issues. (Nice to get away from the Tourists!) * Our usual travel agent was not aware that a NEW tax came into effect on January 1, 2019 at all Cozumel hotels. (I think that it is an environmental tax which amounts to about 24 pesos per day = our two weeks cost approximately $18USD.) Only mentioning this as it was charged when we were checking in - you may wonder 'what is going on as I've totally paid for my holiday' when they ask for your credit card and charge ???pesos)

This year we decided to go away for my birthday. I have to say it was a very last minute decision. We wanted to go back to Cuba and then as I was talking to my trip central agent, we found this deal for Cozumel. Our flight was on time and no problems. Upon our arrival to Cozumel, once passing security, my husband and I were greeted by this lady telling us to go to this specific counter. We were up since 4 AM and could not wait to get to our final destination. Once at that counter, what we thought was a deal for an excursion, turned out to be ( which we found out the next day) a tentative to sell us time share for vacation. BE AWARE !! These people have nothing to do with the resort nor whoever you purchased your vacation with. Beside that little hiccup, we had an AMAZING time. Would we go back?? For sure.

Very friendly staff ! lots of variety food too bad there was no fruit bar. Grounds were nice . check in was acceptable. Very safe , really good staff. Beach was nice when first arrive a lot of seaweed but they cleaned it up .Irma has done a lot of damage to the Caribbean I must say but the water is still blue. Good entertainment shows and the entertainment team was wonderful Carlos and lena were very involved.

This was an incredible vacation for us. The resort was on the most beautiful white sand beach on the island. Our room was in the tower #905. It was very large and the bed was just as comfortable as home. The spacious balcony was perfect. We had a view that we will never forget. The staff would go out of their way to please. Wonderful people. The swim up bar was awesome, with lots of beach chairs and clean, warm water. The second pool was also lovely. (Kids section). The food was always fresh and tasty. Watch for the specialty restaurants where we were charged $65 US for a "Cowboy Steak". At least it was good! The WiFi was only OK in the Lobby area; would be extra in the room, which we did not go for. We loved our vacation and will be going back.

This hotel was very nice , exceptionally clean and great service ! Food was fresh ! The hotel Staff was friendly and helpful ! The DJ every night was a lot of fun ! Would recommend for families too ! Lots of kids activities at the kids pool ! Definitely will go back , willy at the lobby bar was great !

Excellent only thing needed bedside lamps so you don't need the overhead lighting that is too stark. Would recommend and return liked the absence of kids in the adult area and students. The extra security at Cozumel seemed unneeded since we went through security in Toronto.

a smaller all- inclusive...it had only one buffet and 3 a la carte but in all honesty the buffet was excellent and is all you really need to got to. its an older facility but you can see it is very well maintained. staff is awesome. its was generally quiet and we never had trouble finding seats on the beach or at the pools. had a great time

This was our second trip to the Melia and the second was as good as the first, we will be returning again. The food is good, the rooms are clean, the staff is friendly and the cost is reasonable. A very relaxing holiday. Oh and if you stay in the tower minimal to no kids.

This resort was very nice, staff very nice and friendly, great kids club, amazing beach but weather wasn't great so were not able to enjoy like we could do it was a good thing that there was many sports like tennis, mini golf, soccer on the beach and great walks along the beach even if weather wasn't great. Nightlife very quite so if you are looking for nightlife this resort isn't it but if you want to rest then you have all you need. Food was very good and they had a nice variety. Overall I would recommend this resort and come again. Thx to all the staff for making our vacation a great one 😊.

We have made the Melia Cozumel our January getaway for the past 6 years for numerous reasons. We always stay in the 'tower' rooms (floors 4 to 12 have a great view of the water and the cruise ships going by in the distance). I find that the non-tower rooms to be a bit dated, but certainly very family friendly (close to family pool, activities, et cetera). The tower rooms are spacious and clean - excellent balcony settings; with a tiny, stocked fridge, and a coffee pot. (We have never had the rooms with a kitchenette / microwave, et cetera). The only concern is the lack of storage space for clothing when staying more than one week (I wish that they would bring back the dresser with drawers). Staff are A+ - although we do not utilize the children/adults games the staff are enthusiastic and keen to assist. All bar, wait, room staff are eager to please and readily greet all guests with a smile. They also remember their regulars too! (I wish more people would think to leave a tip for meal and bar service, room cleaning .... just my upbringing I guess.) Be sure to book a courtesy room (30 minutes) if you have a late departure - out of your room by noon but you can still use all amenities = a shower and change of clothes before you depart is welcome. Each year we see regular upgrades occuring to keep the Melia 'fresh' (this January we noted: new lobby furniture, many new mattresses and beds arriving in the tower, fresh painting / staining of wood buildings and doors, refurbished lower levels, et cetera) We are not really 'foodies' so I would rate the food a B+ for variety and lots of it! Each day is a different food theme, but basics always available for children and picky eaters. Breakfasts are great - lots of choices and speciality items made for you. We are not impressed with the three 'special bookings' restaurants - I have sent management an email about the set-up and delivery. We just really like the option of choosing our own food (buffet) at our own pace - who wants a schedule when on holiday? As mentioned, management welcomes input from guests and I am pleased to see that my input has resulted in a few changes that we've seen over the years at the Melia. Basically, we are a couple in our late 50s who enjoy a low key, relaxed getaway. One last point - the Melia is only a 10-15 minute drive to the airport (shuttle or a taxi for $12USD), so none of the lengthy rides after/before your flight.

The hotel staff is the best part along with an amazing beach (best on the island)! The restaurants are good and the rooms are very clean. Great value for the price. We have just got back after two weeks and this was our 4th time at this resort. Would highly recommend.

Beach/Pools - I really liked the beach. It did have a build up of seaweed but the staff was great about cleaning it up. The water was a little choppy but usually clear. The pool was clean. The adult part was separated from the children's area. Service - Service was amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. Because the resort was so small, the staff went out of their way to get to know you. Antonio at the buffett and Hilario at the Pool Bar were exceptional. Food - The food was good and there was a great selection. There was plenty for picky eaters and children. The food was fresh and hot. The Mexican restaurant was amazing. We prefered the buffet over the Italian restaurant. Rooms - The rooms were clean and well maintained. I found ours (Ocean View) to be a little damp. We asked for a dehumidifier but they didn't have one. Housekeeping did a thorough job in cleaning. Location - The hotel is on the North Side of the island and the last resort along the stretch. It was close to downtown Cozumel (about a $7 USD taxi) and the pier to Playa de Carmen. Comparative to the other resorts on the North side, the beach seemed better than most. Overall - I was thoroughly impressed with the Melia Cozumel. There was lots to do and it caters to families and couples. It's a small resort. It's friendly and casual. They offered evening shows each night. It does not have a disco but they play music in the lobby bar each evening after the show.

The hotel was very nice. Smaller resort and good food. Booked the Premium Oceanfront room and just to be clear the room is located on the 9th to 11th floor in the tower. If you are not good with heights this is not the Room for you. We upgraded and were given the Royal Suite room located right on the beach. Lovely room close to the beach. Would highly recommend.

The hotel was very clean the rooms were large. The beach was absolutely beautiful. There was always things in the buffet that you really liked. They also had a bar and grill where you could get chicken wings, hamburgers, nachos etc. We purchased the golf package but you still had to rent your cart and take a cab to the course which was an extra 50 US dollars a day I felt that wasn't fair at all. That should have been included. Room service cost 10 dollars for them to bring it to your room, we didn't order anything. I don't think they should allow to people eat at the pool bar I noticed some people were washing their hands in the water after eating chicken wings.

The hotel is not "fancy" but there are many things that we enjoyed. Some seem minor but they affect the overall mood, such as: - even on the days leading up to Christmas, when the hotel was filled near capacity, there were plenty of beach chairs with shade (consequently only few a few people reserved their favourite spots with towels at 6:30 a.m.) - the beach allows for a good 30 minutes of walking in both directions and it is cleaned very well every day - the food is good and you always find something really good and if you wanted you could have tuna or salmon grilled fresh at lunch every day - the entertainment was as good as in any 4 star hotel at the Mayan Riviera (we have stayed at 5 other resorts). - the teen-zone had a good variety of activities including 2 pool tables, and our teenage daughter enjoyed the free Wifi in the lobby. Overall we "totally" enjoyed our stay.

All was very good. Food, staff and golf. When taking a cab ask for a price. Cash American funds in for pesos at the front desk. Cabbies give you ten pesos to one U.S $. Front desk was closer to the bank rate which is about 18 1/2 to one U.S $. Even the cab ride to the golf course, which is 8 bucks , should be paid in peso. It will save some money

I thoroughly enjoyed the Melia. Wonderful fun and hard working staff, comfortable and clean room, the beach is a dream, beautiful waters, great snorkeling, lots of activities for people to do, tons of shopping options in town which is within a very short distance, loved the atmosphere and the people! I plan to return to the Melia next year. I met some wonderful people.

Awesome drinks- carried a wide variety of drinks and even had crown royal on the bar! Consistently met our expectations- when you ordered a specific drink it tasted like it should, and the bartenders often suggested something delicious! Food was excellent! We thought we might get bored with the menu after 2 weeks, but they had an outstanding variety of food - even the menu on the a la carte changed. The buffet had additional cooking stations with the ability to have steak, chicken, seafood, and/or fish. We also enjoyed the lunch a la carte, although service was often slow unless Martin was working. Rooms - rooms were very clean and very large, fridge was restocked everyday, and our housekeeping staff was very friendly. The only thing we would say is there isn't enough storage - there is more than enough room for a dresser so you have somewhere to put clothes. Beach was great, lots of space and good length for walking - not many places in Cozumel have a good beach. After the storm and lots of seaweed came ashore, those maintenance guys worked tirelessly to clear the beach so it was walkable again. They did an awesome job! Our only real complaint was the service on the pool bar. We started with Hilario (who was excellent) and then the next day for over a week we had a server (Alberto- I think) who we felt was just never happy. It was difficult to get a drink, and he didn't make any real effort to make your stay enjoyable. To his defence, there was often a ton of people waiting, so a second bartender throughout times in the day would be helpful. However the last 2 days we had Enrique who was amazing! Friendly, smiling all the time, and even offering you a drink without being asked. He was so fast and efficient, there was rarely a lineup. The final thing about this hotel is its proximity to the airport and downtown. Our pickup at the airport was awesome! As you got through customs, there were vans waiting to take you immediately to the hotel - it took 10 minutes to get there, and there was no lineup at check-in as they sent vans of 6-10 people as they arrived off the plane. Brilliant! The downtown core is very safe and we went in to restauants and to see live bands a number of times. Being so close was a huge bonus. It's 80 pesos to anywhere downtown- very reasonable. Overall we would definitely come back to this resort! The location, view, beach, adult pool, and staff (like Martin in the a la carte, Wilbert in buffet, all the front desk staff, the towel guy) made our stay amazing!

Melia, in Cozumel, Mexico was a lovely place to bring the family. The grounds were always well kept, there were many things to do with kids( crafts, activities, dancing,and music in the daytime for kids) The food was o'k. I preferred the a la carte, meals were better hot and prepped well. I did not like that I discovered by day 3 that I had to make reservations for the a la carte places. Buffet selection was ok. Beaches were beautiful, water was great for everyone to swim. But did not realize how windy this part of the coast is, and the flags were RED the entire week of our stay. Rooms VERY clean, and tidy. EXCEPTIONAL staff for housekeeping, thank you!

Great staff, friendly, lots to do (poolside activities, archery, mini golf, shuffleboard, horseshoes, volleyball, etc. So close to the ocean, nice beach. Food was great, lots of variety to suit all tastes. Only down side was elevator was out of service.

The resort was very nice. It is a must to stay in the tower if you don't have kids. Be very careful of your lougage when you arrive. My cate on got put back in the van and I had to pay and find it my self. Not the hotel nor Sunwing would help me. The hotel would even book me in because I didn't have my password port, it was in my carry on. Other than that this was our 4th time on Cozumel and I would have to say this was the best resort of all We would definitely go back.

The staff made this resort...very helpful and service oriented. We felt like we were at summer camp and enjoyed getting involved in all of the activities. Loved the golf across the street. Pools a little cool, but the sea and beach was beautiful. Loved the garden view room and it was close to everything. Small, intimate resort.

I travelled to the Melia with my 4 year old son in January. The staff were amazing, especially Sussy, who was running the kids club, and Otoniel, who was often running activities. My son developed relationships with both of them, as they were so kind to him. My room was always clean as was the resort. We did not take advantage of any ala cartes, but were always able to eat well in the buffet. No sickness from any food and lines for made-on-the-spot stations were never long. There was plenty to keep us busy on the resort. It is not overly large, so everything is in comfortable walking distance. Leaving your room is not a commitment as with some larger resorts. People selling jewelry on the beach approached me once or twice a day and were very kind, not pushy or rude. I was so happy with my stay at the Melia and hope to return one day.

Spent 10 days here to play golf across the road. Perfect location for golf. My only complaint would be that the lobby bar is closed when the pool bar is open. Lobby bar should be open for coffee in the morning and drinks from 11 to close. After 4 hours golfing in the heat it would have been nice to sit in the air conditioned lobby barprior to going outdoors and wait in long lines at the pool bar. Also make sure you get a tower room. We had to upgrade as not all rooms have refrigerators and coffeemakers.

This is your typical midsize Carribean resort. We had a lot of fun. Very friendly staff, clean rooms. Many activities: beach, snorkling, game room, night shows. Nothing luxury but adequate. The restaurants were average.

Loved this resort-although not our first trip to Cozumel, it was our first time at Melia. Stayed in the Gardenview building, on the 4th floor and loved the view of the ocean and also the view across the island from our front door. Loved that there are two pools-one for the adults and a great pool area for the kids. Ate at the buffet the whole stay and had no complaints-enough of a variety to keep us happy. And if you talk sweetly to your very friendly servers, they may even get you a bowl of Ice cream for dessert even if you ask for it everynight!! Loved the beach and the friendly atmosphere of all of the staff. Definitely would consider coming back to this resort.

We loved this place. The grounds are nicely kept and it was very clean. The beach was quiet and the drinks were cold. Just the way we like it! The nightly entertainment was fantastic, especially the Mayan Reciew. We so enjoyed William aka "Batman" from activation! We will return.

The hotel was very clean. The staff was friendly. The beach was great. But the buffet wasn't tasty (but I'm picky). This was our first south beach vacation and I would recommend this resort to family and friends

It is a very good hotel, they have a very nice pool and the restaurants a la carte are excellent.The food is good but they don't have a lot of variety of food.There is only Mexican food there,and its a buffet so i suggest they put food from different countries it will be great.

Spacious rooms and well-maintained hotel. Overall, the stay was comfortable and hotel staff are friendly. Beware of timeshare sold by some agents working at reception. Also free wifi is only available in the lobby and at a price of $10 USD at rooms. Food is generally okay and cocktails are free. I would recommend this hotel but will probably try another hotel like Cosmoleno hotel just 200 yards away from Melia.

Very clean, well maintained, friendly staff. A generally small resort that does a great job of entertainment and amenities to compete with the larger resorts. Service is generally self serve, but getting out of my chair to get a drink is preferable to me. The best beach in the entire area, long, clean, with great swimming. I returned for a second year in a row.

What a beautiful location. This hotel came highly recommended by our financial planner and she was 'right on the money'. Clean, open to the ocean, WHITE, soft sand. Fabulous view from our quiet 11th story suite. Food was not outstanding - but it met our needs. One of the biggest 'sell' points for us was the 10 minute proximity to the International Airport - none of that frustrating 2-3 hour 'stop at every hotel' ride. We stayed at the adult side of the resort - good choice for us.
